My experience with Nationstar was efficient. They did professional handling of financial matter with great assistance and they catered to my needs especially in timing. It was very quick being the type of refi that was. The people involved answered my questions. I not only got lower interest rate, but also lower monthly payments. It was also great to be able to do almost every bit of it online or digitally. They are more convenient. I always hear the closing was in a person, but that was good too because the closing attorney came right through my office. I didn’t have to take time off from work.

I have never experienced such incompetence in refinancing a loan. Each time it was blamed as someone else's fault. The closer blamed the mortgage company. The mortgage company blamed the title company. If it wasn't Simonton, or Michael, or Vantage or Tanisha, someone else was at fault.

So when I called Nationstar, they tried to tell me that they didn't know anything about it, but I could refinance my loan. I figured I would take the $1,000 one way or another. The person that I dealt with, Kelly, was very good. She was very helpful in everything and she was prompt. First, my payment went down and then, they did some kind of escrow assessment and took the payment right back up to where it was. I was furious because I thought I did all this for nothing. And then I worked with Kelly again and she said it was a glitch in the system, and got it back down to the second loan amount. So I got my loan reduced and my payment eventually went down.

Nationstar mortgage is absolutely horrible and has basically ruined my life. I had a adjustable rate mortgage that adjusted without my knowledge. So I continued to pay the amount I had been paying for several years. Once I found out I was paying the wrong amount I immediately contacted Nationstar and brought my account current. But instead of the customer service lady helping me, she just laughed and stated she hopes my home foreclosed. Since then Nationstar has absolutely ruined my credit, and even when the problem was rectified by another customer service agent, they refused to remove the negative from my credit report. The negative credit scores from Nationstar negatively affected me from getting a job with a Gov't agency.

We had a 30-year mortgage but in the first 10 years we were only paying interest and then it kicked into the larger payment recently. Then I got a thing in the mail that said that we could refinance it for 20 years so we wouldn't be extending the mortgage any more than we would. It still would end at the same time and the money that we would pay every month would be less. I figured to might as well check it out. So it happened and I'm very pleased that we were able to do that.

I wasn't really impressed with Nationstar when the mortgage was first transferred over to them. I found that it was very difficult to communicate with them. It's like you never really knew what number you were supposed to call and what to push on the different voicemail things that you connect with in order to actually speak to a physical human being. But I was impressed with the two people that we worked with and it was through Greenlight Financial Services that we went through with the refinance, but they're a subsidiary of Nationstar. The only way I got them to stop was when I paid the loan off. They would not ever disclose account information, just call to harass me. I just dont understand as to why I have been getting the runaround for several months. Each time I spoke to another customer service representative I would get a different story. I've left several voicemails and an e-mail for my dedicated specialist however I would never receive a return phone call and/or e-mail. This situation is going on too long. Where is the customer service representatives and why dont they ever return your phone calls? Where are your standards, policies and procedures to rectify situations such as mine?

Finally, in October 2014 I was laid off from my job and I was able to pay my mortgage for the remaining of the year and that point I had to make a decision and once the first offer fell through and I realized I wasnt able to maintain my mortgage and other bills I then discussed with my realtor to put the house on a short sale. The house received at least three (3) short sale offers and each time Nationstar has given my Paralegal/Closer the complete runaround or not even updating the Equator system. She received the same exact treatment I received with being on hold for over an hour. Then each offer was rejected and the house was going to be foreclosed on and then it was put on hold.

Now several months later I received a letter on February 27, 2016 which was dated February 10, 2016 (seems a little devious to me) stating the house was going to be foreclosed on March 3, 2016. I find it quite interesting that Paralegal/Closer was never notified and absolutely NOTHING was ever updated within your system Equator. Where is the communication? Again, there was yet another offer during this time and Nationstar decided to foreclose on the house. You all must be stopped as Im quite sure Im not the only customer that this has happened to. During this entire process Nationstar Mortgage has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but give myself and my Paralegal/Closer the runaround with no return phone calls. Absolutely no communication even within a system (Equator) that is specifically used by your company.

In my opinion Nationstar's ultimate goal was to foreclose on the property and to do it underhandedly and to never accept any short sale offers. This really makes me question the business of Nationstar Mortgage. Does your company receive some type of insurance from the government so they dont lose any funds to foreclose on someones home? Its even more interesting I received a phone call from a representative on March 3, 2016 asking me questions about the short sale. Now please explain that to me?

I am going to inform everyone and every company possible to let them know that Nationstar is specifically designed for their customers to lose their home. This situation has been so overwhelming and stressful that it has truly affected my health but as long as Nationstar Mortgage takes people's homes from them they dont care. Even during this time frame not once has a representative even contacted me to find out if I wanted to do a loan modification to even try to save my home. Again, you all just wanted to take a rather unfortunate situation and make it even worse. When a person loses their jobs where is the assistance to help so homeowners can remain a homeowner?

I was a bit unhappy with Nationstar Mortgage. The people are nice but the second person I had was incompetent and wasn’t very knowledgeable, and by the time I was done, I had a mere $78,000 loan that ended up having closing costs that went over the legal limits, so they had to back them off, which is ridiculous on a loan of such amount. Because it was over the legal limit they were supposed to give me $500 back, however, when I finally closed and signed papers, it ended up being right at the legal limit and I only got $101 back. I was not pleased that they wouldn’t negotiate because I had such a small loan and good credit, that I settled for a 4% interest rate when, at the time, it was down to 3.75% throughout the country.

And it’s true that they were saving me a lot of paperwork because I re-mortgaged with the same people, so I didn’t have to give them my bank account details. I didn’t have as much, and I felt they took total advantage of that. Then, when all was said and done, I finally asked to explain why the closing costs were so high, and they talked about the title company doing a lot of work that I really don’t see, and the notary guy whom I signed papers with and help in changing the county where I live in, which is important in my insurance rates. I live in a rural county and they couldn't figure that out. Lastly, my closing costs are high because they charge me for the three instances that they redid the paperwork because of the errors made by the second person.

So, I'm stuck and couldn’t do anything about it, unless I want to start all over again with someone else. Maybe because I’m only just small that they felt they won’t get enough money from me. All I wanted was for them to do their job. How hard could it be? And that really bothered me. They made no concessions, offered me no apologies, offered me nothing. I don’t know if they can be trustworthy.

I called when I promised I would and the representatives went through the process of taking all my information over the phone, said he processed the payment, gave me a confirmation number. Told me I would get a payment confirmation email. What I got was a "Loan Modification Status Update" email and the payment was never taken out nor did I ever get a payment confirmation email. I have yet to speak to a live person. I have never been late and don't need a loan modification. I did not apply for one. I don't trust NationStar. When my loan was transferred to them my escrow become short by $900 and that was never recovered - now this.

The first two times I talked to Nationstar's staff were useless. The lady was trying to dictate to me what I can and can't do. She dropped the rate from five and a half to five percent which is a joke with the rates now. I wasn't too happy. I did mortgages for about six months helping out a buddy a few years back. I don't know what to do. Their program helps people out but it was a little frustrating. I got $50,000 equity in the house and I've been here 20 years. I never missed a payment so I don't know why there was an issue in the first place.

Then recently, the guy who came in was professional and did his job smoothly. The process must have taken about seven to eight days. He was glad to have the loan and that it went so quick. That's how it should be. I owed 19 years and 6 months. Nationstar lowered the rate, dropped the payment between the interest rate and I switched insurance companies to Homeowners about $85 a month. The way it's set up, I didn't have to make a payment for two months and I got a feasible lower rate. A little after three years, I'll break even on the charge.

We did it with Nationstar and it was one of the best experiences we ever had. Our payment was cut in half so we’re saving a couple of hundred bucks a month. It’s still higher than what we used to pay, but it’s better than what we would have had to spend with a new mortgage. I’m currently in between jobs and my wife is just working so there is a program that we fit into -- a HARP loan. We still got a real low-interest rate and it was amazing. The Nationstar reps we dealt with worked real good and we didn’t have to give too much documentation. We just text it over and email it and before we know it, we had our closing agent at our house closing. It was a great and very smooth experience.

My Mortgage was transferred to Nationstar from Flagstar a number of years ago. We bought our home in 2006 and three weeks after closing, I was deployed to Iraq. My wife (now ex-wife) was evidently missing payments for many of the fifteen months I was gone. Upon my return, I eventually found out about the missed payments and worked very hard to get caught back up. Two years later, I was deployed again. Unfortunately, the same pattern persisted during this deployment by my ex-wife. I once again tried to work with Nationstar to get back on track while simultaneously initiated separation and divorce proceedings due to her neglect.

During our first seven months of separation she was able to stay in the home with our children per military regulation. Up to this point the payments were being paid on time by me. In December of 2012, the kitchen of our house was destroyed by fire and the rest of the house damaged by smoke. I was not allowed in the house for the previous 7 months so it was a disturbing site to see the inside of my home as I escorted the fire department in after I was called to the scene. My ex-wife had not only burned my kitchen down but tore out all the sheet rock, destroyed the carpets, broke windows and damaged doors. It was to the point that the fire department condemned the home for those reasons rather than the fire damage.

The insurance adjuster from the insurance company that Nationstar elected to give me without my consent came out and did his assessment. They cut a check for $18,000 made out to me and Nationstar. I tried to use the funds to start the necessary repairs but they wouldn't release the funds without a ridiculous paper trail I had to fill out in which I had to get a contractor and his license and bond information. Once I finally was able to find someone that was willing to come out, Nationstar said that he was not acceptable because he was not a general contractor. He was a licensed and bonded contractor but not the kind they thought was necessary from their offices in Texas while I was in Georgia.

Meanwhile, as all this is happening, my divorce is finalized and I am "awarded" the house. 36 days after the finalization, I was being stationed in Hawaii for three years. No contractors were able to fit the bill for Nationstar and no property managers were even willing to take me on as a client while I fulfilled my duties in Hawaii. I contacted Nationstar soon after the divorce to see if there was a way to modify my loan so I could make payments and not risk foreclosure while I tried to get the repairs done and be able to rent the house. They agreed to the HAMP and the associate said I needed to make five consecutive months of payments and they would add the delinquent amount to the end of the loan and I could start fresh.

I immediately mailed in my first and second payments. About a month after I arrived in Hawaii I received an envelope from Nationstar with a refund check for the second payment. I called them to see what was happening before I sent the third payment. He said that they received the second payment a day late and therefore, voided the modification trial. Nobody called or anything. I asked him if there was another modification I could do now that I was settled and he said that I had used all the modifications they or Fannie Mae could allow. I never filled out paperwork or anything for any modification so I don't see how I officially used any of them.

Now I am stuck in Hawaii serving out my last year of a 21 year career while I have a house in Georgia rotting and nobody willing to help. It's even more aggravating to know that I have an insurance check sitting in Nationstar's bank collecting interest undoubtedly and my name is on the check. What is wrong with this place? I can't even rent a home without using my new wife's info because I have 2 and a half years of missed payments on a house nobody can live in. No foreclosure notices. I am not sure if one has even started. I get my statement every month like nothing is wrong. They even send me coupons! Please, somebody make this company go away.

They refunded the year before quite a bit of money which they shouldn't have in retrospect, so I was behind on my escrow which would have made payments this year about $150 or $110 more. So they suggested refinance. At first, I was real hesitant about a refinance because ever since 2008, to get a refinance is almost impossible and they make you go through hoops. Over the years I haven't bothered anymore and so when they mentioned it I was like, "Yeah, right. What do you need, how much will you need?” It was all completed in three weeks without any hassles which shocked the heck out of me. So far so good. I've never had problems with Nationstar unlike the other bank I had which was horrible.

And then after we got out of bankruptcy, I asked them if they remortgage and they told me "yes." They were all very nice and pleasant, and they never hesitate if I asked them any questions. We're very satisfied. I think they were pretty good with the guidance because they give us better rates than another company did. I'm positive we could stay with them. We have already seven years with them before that. The experience is good because I want to lower my mortgage, lower the rate and then go into a 15-year term. I recommend them to anybody.

All the while, I turned to Nationstar for help. Yeah, they gave us help alright. Our "trial loan mod" was more than $500.00 a month MORE than what we were paying when we came to them!!! Is this what Nationstar thinks is HELP??? It is now a year later, and I am still without a loan modification, and NOW, we have a SALE DATE on our home. Dirty Nationstar. I refinanced my home loan with Nationstar in December of 2015. The experience was the worst customer services that I have ever encountered. I was told two different things regarding my loan by two different Nationstar employees to the point that I had to complain to the 1800 number on multiple occasions. I was dismissed and lied to about returned calls.

One incident involved a representative telling me via voice mail that my loan was probably not going to go through due to DTI (which I did not know what that even meant). This lady used jargon all the time and I had to CONSISTENTLY ask her to tell me what her acronyms mean. The lady would not answer my calls but emailed me that she was on a conference call and would call me back. This was on a Friday. I did not receive a phone call from her until the next week. And the DTI numbers were wrong. So basically I spent my weekend thinking my loan was not going to happen.

This is just one of MANY examples of how horrible the experience was. Many times I considered ending the process but I was too far in and the interest rate was awesome. That is the only reason I continued. I would love to actually talk to someone about my experience. I tried to call in after I closed and asked for someone to call, but I never received a call back. I am a social worker and work for the state. If I had had the work ethic of the people who interacted with me during my refi, I would not currently be employed. I hope to hear from someone to help you make Nationstar more customer friendly.

The first attempt was very frustrating because we spent 5 months working on getting a mortgage refinanced and it was unsuccessful due to the appraisal value of the property. The second attempt was successful because they approached me with an increased appraisal value which allowed the refinance to go through. Also, I was impressed with the fact that the gal that I worked with remembers me. During my refinancing with them, they were pleasant enough but I was highly angry when I went to sign the paperwork because what I was quoted as going to be my payment each month had gone up $70. I unfortunately am not savvy when it comes to refinancing but I did my best to do the research and find out what kind of rate I could get, and what they had had informed me was that my loan wasn’t large enough to receive a lower rate. So I had to take them at their word for that. But the bottom line is I was going to have my mortgage paid off in about 15 years and now I've got a 30-year mortgage. And there's really no benefit from the refinancing except my payments have been lowered to $170 a month. I was hoping to get some equity out of it but I wasn't able to do that either.

Me and my husband obtained 2 mortgages in 2001 with Bank of America. We've never had a problem with them or our payments being automatically withdrawn on time and then 2 years ago we were transferred/sold to NATIONSTAR. We weren't told until after we got information from Nationstar. About two months ago we received our maturity date letter saying that we have over $8000 due on our maturity date for both of our properties in total. We've never missed a payment at all. We received our statements and we pay them and have never been late so we contacted Nationstar and we have been getting the runaround ever since until today. I escalated until I couldn't escalate any more.

After being told month after month that we will get something from the research department about our account because they can't seem to figure out why we had such a large payment due on our maturity dates, where it is supposed to be only one payment and then we would be done. All we got from research is the exact same thing we've gotten before which is a promissory note that we have and been going by since 2001 which is 15 years ago. Then today I get the supervisor on the phone and he says when a payment is not received on the exact date it is due been there is interest accrued on it daily.

Mind you we mail in our payments because we didn't know what Nationstar was and we didn't want to give them our direct information like our routing and account number so we mailed a payment in. And like any other mortgage or homeowner we thought well our payment is not 10 days late--it's not even 3 days late so once they receive it we will be good to go. We received our statements and they didn't show anything past due or any late fees because we always made our mortgage payments either on the day or at the latest they'd receive it and process it 2 days later.

Our statements always the same amount of $776.41 on one account and $214.35 on another account so we thought "oh we're good to go, we're almost at our maturity date and we're close to paying our accounts off!" No such thing because they are saying when they received the payment a day or two late it accrues daily and they put that on the unpaid principal which is due on the maturity date. I asked why weren't we told this or why wasn't it on the billing statements because IF WE KNEW THIS WAS OCCURRING WE'D PAY IT SO IT WOULDN'T BE A BALLOON AT THE END!

We never had a problem with Bank of America mind you, all of a sudden after we have a Nationstar for two years now it's a problem and we now owe $8000 in total on both of our accounts. So please tell me if this is fair or not because it is not if we had this problem with Bank of America we probably would have been owing $20,000 by maturity date but no it's $8000 because it happened in the last two years when we started with Nationstar. My advice to you is if you have Nationstar or are trying to acquire Nationstar, run the other way because now they think I'm Bill Gates and I can just pull money out of thin air. But with little janky servicing companies like this that the big banks sell to because maturity dates are coming up and they aren't making money off of, that's how Nationstar will get over on you so please beware of them! Thank God I'm well off but it's still our hard earned money gone to scam artists.

Nationstar purchased my mortgage from the original mortgage company in 2007. They sent me several mailings and ultimately I decided to follow up on them to refinance. Their reps were very cordial and helpful. I'm counting six years off of the period of loan and paying only slightly more than what I was paying. So it's going to be six years in savings of approximately eighty thousand dollars by doing the refinancing.

I'm writing this comment in hopes that the appropriate people/agency has this information available as to prevent the hardship that my family has suffered as a result of Nationstar Mortgage llc. This is not my first rodeo with Nationstar, after a three year battle with another mortgage co. Nationstar purchased my loan. They tried foreclosing on me and threatening me 16 times until HUD stepped in. Now I had a flood in my home before Thanksgiving was issued a check and after communicating with Nationstar, endorsing the check, paying for overnight returned funds $30, the following were their request. I'm a contractor performing my own repairs, copy of my lic., my bond, my insurance, my tax ID, copy of the insurance claim, and repair claim. This was per their loss mediation dept. faxed by them checked off by them!

I was to receive a partial payment 40,000 of the 50,403 dollars the check was made out for this check was cashed on 1-14 along with the check for $30 dollars for the overnight delivery of the first payment. Again my loss happened in Nov. at which point I commenced repairs and was told that after I forwarded the endorsed check I could expect it in 3 days. I've contacted Nationstar 6 times at no point have they made any effort to contact me. Each time I have contacted them they need another paper which I've already sent them. Each time they ask for a contract between the contractor and myself. Each time they apologize and do nothing offering to resubmit to the review team another 5 days I've spent over 42,000 towards repairs and in this process my father has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. They were made aware of this from day 1.

My funds have been depleted and Nationstar only response to this situation is to call 3 times to ask if I have their mortgage check. I keep impeccable records to whom I talk, what they said, all faxed transmissions and correspondence. I WILL TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT THEIR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. They have now knowingly affected my ability to pay my mortgage, health care, pg&e, and other bills. Is this retaliation for reporting them to HUD. You decide. Please help, as Nationstar is apparently untouchable!!!

The Nationstar staff were very professional. The guidance was very good. They were with me every step of the way, describing everything that was going on. But there was one point where I was uncomfortable because everything was on the internet and when they sent a notary public to come out to my house for me to sign the papers, their guy didn't want to provide any identification except for his notary blue card. I would have felt a little more comfortable if he had provided a picture I.D.

Our mortgage is with Nationstar and in June 2015 we applied to refinance our mortgage and second mortgage. We are STILL waiting to find out if we, or when we close. Their "loan specialist" doesn't seem to know what he's doing. He doesn't return calls or emails. He doesn't tell us what documents he needs. We are so tired and frustrated with Nationstar! We regret ever starting this process with Nationstar!

And Jonathan ** was extremely kind, patient, he listened and returned my calls. And then, the person came for us to sign to the home, he was fine and all was taken cared of. We had a Bank of America loan nine years ago then we recently refinanced with Nationstar to get a shorter term. The mortgage rep that I dealt with was patient with repeating things to me because I have a hearing problem. Everything was laid out nice and clear and he answered a million questions that I had and called me back. He was obviously in India and he gave me his number to call back with some answers and I actually got him, which surprised me. Overall I had a fine experience and I'd recommend them.

Our mortgage was purchased by Nationstar Mortgage in 2015. Their accelerated equity program is handled by Equity Accelerator which we participated in. Monies were drawn twice a month from our checking account to pay for our mortgage. We paid off our mortgage in December, 2015. I notified Equity Accelerator that our mortgage was paid in full and that they should cease to withdraw monies from our checking account, but they continued to draw these funds on 12/31/15 and again on 1/6/16 for which we had to put a stop payment on, incurring service charges of $36.00 and $35.00 respectively. When we confronted Equity Accelerator about these charges, asking that they be reimbursed to us since we had given them notice, they asked to speak with a representative from our bank and went on to ask them to reverse these charges as a good will act.

We were mortified that they should do this and not bear responsibility for their mistake themselves. At the same time, Equity Accelerator had already deducted half of our mortgage payment ($1,819.25) from our checking account on 12/15/15 towards the January 2016 mortgage payment due on 1/1/16. We notified Equity Accelerator of this and was told that this amount would be refunded to our checking account. Subsequently, we did receive a letter from this company indicating that the amount of $1,819.25 would be refunded to us by February 3rd, 2016 if we did not sign up any new mortgage with them. On February 2, 2016, our checking account was credited with $1,518.88 from Paymap (Equity Accelerator), this is $300.33 less than the amount we are entitled to.

We tried to reach representatives from Equity Accelerator 4 times, each time having to go through a series of prompts and wait time, only to be disconnected before speaking with a representative. Finally last night we were able to speak with a customer service representative who indicated that the difference represented an enrollment fee, something we had already paid for at the time we signed up for this program. Then this became a discontinuance fee because we did not cancel within the first 90 days of our enrollment. How can this be when our mortgage was paid in full - why would we need their services any longer if we no longer had a mortgage. We asked to speak with a supervisor and were told that there were no supervisors available or even there at all.

We advised them that we would be contacting Consumer Affairs and The Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint. We are looking for restitution of the bank fees we were charged because of their mismanagement and for the balance of the mortgage deposit deducted from our account and deceptively not refunded to us, a total of $371.33.

This issue is now on its 13th month and finally today I spoke, yet with another staff member by the name of Franklin that said that the reason folks are in a situation like I described in my previous review (foreclose to short sale instead) is because it is our fault. He stated that Nationstar has every right to do what they want. I tried explaining to this individual that I wished to speak to a supervisor or someone in a higher supervisory position as he was being very rude and condescending about my situation. Franklin said that there "was no one here higher" than him (mind you he was the first employee in a call customer service that I was sent to) and yet no one is in a higher position than him???? Then he said "Oh, that person is out of the office." Really? I am having realtors, investors and other folks in the real estate business just walking into my house (garage), backyard (yes there is a door that remains closed) yet they walk right back in.

He said I should basically suck it up because they are doing me a favor by possibly buying the house at a higher bid. (I told Franklin that there was a bid in place via a short sale two weeks ago that Nationstar has ignored). I have maintained a book on the lies that they have told me and I tried to explain to Franklin what options were shared (foreclosure, short sale, deed in lieu) and they NEVER ONCE MENTIONED that if the house went thru a short sale that they would NOT accept the offers that have been given to the realtor. Apparently Nationstar has their own "way" and not the legal way of handling short sales. After researching laws and speaking with various attorneys (California Association of Realtors) it's NOT legal for them to accept another offer in auction but they will do it anyway.

Nationstar has not been challenged in CA due to the cost that will be placed upon the consumer (me) versus big business (Nationstar) with deep pockets. So once again, Nationstar is a horrible business. After taking much rudeness from Franklin I had some choice words for him. I have documented all my efforts and lack of by Nationstar for 13 months. The way these employees get to lie, cover and not KNOW really what they are doing is a criminal act!!! I have spoken with a total of 9 different "employees" of Nationstar and NOT one has explain to me the same process of how they handle a short sale, modification, foreclosure and deed in lieu. If I could give them a ZERO STAR I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY WOULD! Accept the short sale bid and let the consumer move on their lives.
