Nationstar bought my mortgage from BAC. I refinanced through them as it was easy to go through who already had the mortgage loan. I knew what I wanted to do and they told me if it would work or not. And then the next thing was step-by-step. The gentleman that they picked to meet me at the closing was nice. He's professional and down to earth. It was a pleasant experience.

We recently refinanced our home through Greenlight Loans. We were already customers of Nationstar Mortgage & wanted to refinance and cash out some of our equity to pay off other debts. We began the process with mortgage professional Jacob ** on 1/21/16 and were able to complete all the necessary mortgage info and document signing via email in only 1 day!
The next day, 1/22/16, we were transferred to a closing coordinator, Jake **. He was so friendly, helpful & efficient! He took care of ordering an appraisal and all aspects of getting our loan closed. He was in constant email contact, communicating every step of the way. Our loan funded on 2/26/16 and the payoff checks for our consolidation were overnighted to us the next day. I have never had such an easy and enjoyable experience refinancing. Thank you Greenlight, Nationstar & Jake **! Give that guy a raise!

I had been told by a couple of other lenders that I didn't qualify for the HARP program, but I'd already gotten a mailer from Nationwide indicating that I did so I re-financed my loan with them. However, after doing so I noticed that I'm being charged a higher rate than some of the other HARP lenders. Not a lot but even 1/2% difference is a lot.

My wife and I recently consolidated and refinanced our home, student loans, credit card debt, my Honda Civic...Everything. The people at Nationstar/Greenlight were fantastic. They were very helpful, and responsive to any questions and concerns that we had. The two people who handled our loan were Anthony ** and Hagn **. They were simply put, great! Hagn was there for us every step of the way, throughout the loan process. The appraiser and the notary they sent out to us were great as well. The whole process took about 3 weeks from start to finish. I would recommend Nationstar/Greenlight to anyone. Anyone who gets Hagn ** as a loan handler will be pleased. She was great.

Actually quite a pleasant and seamless accomplishment... yet... I was in 'deliberations" at the same time with Quicken Loans. Their customer service (getting back to me...keeping me in the loop) was a bit more desirable. Their message board was easier to navigate, and always followed up with a phone call. I cancelled their re-fi at the last minute, and they had sent me all closing documents in the mail. They were gorgeous! Apparently... someone with graphic/advertising experience designed the closing packet. I would suggest something similar. Not essential..but worth looking into.

A couple of years ago when Nationstar purchased my mortgage along with a large group of others from Bank of America, I'll admit I was very concerned. I didn't know Nationstar and when I looked them up I discovered that they were a collection agency getting into the mortgage business. My concerns grew. It has been a few years and I am very pleased with their service. Their website is very user friendly. It even provides your current FICO score.
In Feb. 2016 decided to refinance my mortgage and I didn't need to shop around. Again, their web page was instrumental in the process. Got a very competitive rate and the entire process was done via email. A notary come to my home with the documents and was in and out of my home in about 15 mins for the signing. I am very satisfied with Nationstar.

Refinancing with Nationstar Mortgage was smooth and fairly quick. It'll free up a little bit of money each month so it's cheaper to refinance. Everyone that I worked with was helpful. I worked with the main person mostly via email but she was very quick to respond and that was always appreciated. At one point I had to go to the loan officer to ask why the numbers have changed. The document wasn't given to me with an explanation. I just noticed it so I went and acted on it. If there are any changes, it would be helpful for one of the officers to reach out and point out the changes and explain why. In the end, it was not an issue and there was a good explanation for it. Other than that, it was still good service.

Last year, I spent months disputing a late payment that Nationstar put on my credit report after they increased my mortgage by 10x after an escrow analysis in the middle of billing cycle. For 10 years had a payment plan on my property taxes. They paid the tax bill in full and then estimated an escrow that was completely outrageous. Mortgage was due on 2/1, they changed the bill on 2/17. They then told me they would review my account and reduced my payment and gave me a new bill a couple of weeks later. It was then 3X my previous mortgage amount, which I paid. They tried to get me to refinance or go into a loan modification.
At this point, I knew I needed to sell my home. I submitted my documentation to the Consumer Protection Bureau and I would advise that anyone that has any experience with them falsely reporting a late payment and hurting their credit report this activity. They also attempt to force you into insurance policies too, telling you you don't have insurance, even when you do, adding more trouble, proving to them your homeowners policy is valid.

Although grateful for the opportunity to refinance we were assured there would be no out of pocket cost to us to refinance then were left scrambling to come up with $1500 escrow at the last minute for closing. The interest rate changed as well and was higher after our home was not valued as high as the loan originator first thought which made no sense. Also upon the refinance now my wife is not listed on the account and has had problems setting up to make the payments which she pays out of her own account and was the one that handled everything on the refinance as well. Not cool Nationstar.

Payments made not posted timely, and some not at all as they were posted to principal or to a suspense account and charged late fees and adverse credit reporting as a result. Also late fees, and "Home inspections fees" as part of late fees, refusal to remove mandated escrow and PMI as stated due to these late payments. Customer service advised to reverse payments made months earlier as the only way to correctly post them to my account with the additional fees that refused to credit at fault of Nationstar payment processing (I have the transaction posting ID for each payment made on line which was timely).
Mandated escrow inflated payment inflated by $400 monthly in error. When I submitted documentation to prove error, refused to correct/refund/remedy. (Nationstar insistent that my property taxes doubled from the year prior as they assumed my mortgage from Bank of America. I mailed, faxed letters, called relentlessly to remedy this action without result). I have 43% equity in my home and have repeatedly requested to remove PMI also without result. I have had in person harassment at my front door and on my property as Nationstar representative insisted on home property inspection as standard procedure for late pay mentioned above.
No advance notice was given for this inspection and as Nationstar representative refused to leave my property he yelled obscenities as he took pictures of me in my front door and also pictures of my yard and property. The representative told me that he would be gone by the time I called the local police, so he advised me not to bother. My complaint to Nationstar offered no remedy nor apologies, as they also refused to credit the inspection fee as result of late payment (Nationstar payment error referenced above). Continued harassing phone calls advising of my late payments - that again were not late. My escrow and payment is a new amount every month with no advance notice due to the inflated escrow since Nationstar assumed my mortgage processing from Bank America in June 2013. I am in need of legal help/direction. Please to anyone who can please offer assistance feel free to email. Thank you in advance.

My husband had passed away, and the loan was not in my name, but they called me constantly, even though I was not an account holder. I told them to stop harassing me. The only way I got them to stop was when I paid the loan off. They would not ever disclose account information, just call to harass me. I told them I would rather pay off the small home loan than have to get harassing daily calls. They have HORRIBLE customer service. And no, like stated, the harassment only ended because I paid off the loan.

We first would like to apologize for your experience with us. We've notified upper management to ensure they're aware of the multiple calls you received. I just dont understand as to why I have been getting the runaround for several months. Each time I spoke to another customer service representative I would get a different story. I've left several voicemails and an e-mail for my dedicated specialist however I would never receive a return phone call and/or e-mail. This situation is going on too long. Where is the customer service representatives and why dont they ever return your phone calls? Where are your standards, policies and procedures to rectify situations such as mine?
Finally, in October 2014 I was laid off from my job and I was able to pay my mortgage for the remaining of the year and that point I had to make a decision and once the first offer fell through and I realized I wasnt able to maintain my mortgage and other bills I then discussed with my realtor to put the house on a short sale. The house received at least three (3) short sale offers and each time Nationstar has given my Paralegal/Closer the complete runaround or not even updating the Equator system. She received the same exact treatment I received with being on hold for over an hour. Then each offer was rejected and the house was going to be foreclosed on and then it was put on hold.
Now several months later I received a letter on February 27, 2016 which was dated February 10, 2016 (seems a little devious to me) stating the house was going to be foreclosed on March 3, 2016. I find it quite interesting that Paralegal/Closer was never notified and absolutely NOTHING was ever updated within your system Equator. Where is the communication? Again, there was yet another offer during this time and Nationstar decided to foreclose on the house. You all must be stopped as Im quite sure Im not the only customer that this has happened to. During this entire process Nationstar Mortgage has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but give myself and my Paralegal/Closer the runaround with no return phone calls. Absolutely no communication even within a system (Equator) that is specifically used by your company.
In my opinion Nationstar's ultimate goal was to foreclose on the property and to do it underhandedly and to never accept any short sale offers. This really makes me question the business of Nationstar Mortgage. Does your company receive some type of insurance from the government so they dont lose any funds to foreclose on someones home? Its even more interesting I received a phone call from a representative on March 3, 2016 asking me questions about the short sale. Now please explain that to me?
I am going to inform everyone and every company possible to let them know that Nationstar is specifically designed for their customers to lose their home. This situation has been so overwhelming and stressful that it has truly affected my health but as long as Nationstar Mortgage takes people's homes from them they dont care. Even during this time frame not once has a representative even contacted me to find out if I wanted to do a loan modification to even try to save my home. Again, you all just wanted to take a rather unfortunate situation and make it even worse. When a person loses their jobs where is the assistance to help so homeowners can remain a homeowner?

I was a bit unhappy with Nationstar Mortgage. The people are nice but the second person I had was incompetent and wasn’t very knowledgeable, and by the time I was done, I had a mere $78,000 loan that ended up having closing costs that went over the legal limits, so they had to back them off, which is ridiculous on a loan of such amount. Because it was over the legal limit they were supposed to give me $500 back, however, when I finally closed and signed papers, it ended up being right at the legal limit and I only got $101 back. I was not pleased that they wouldn’t negotiate because I had such a small loan and good credit, that I settled for a 4% interest rate when, at the time, it was down to 3.75% throughout the country.
And it’s true that they were saving me a lot of paperwork because I re-mortgaged with the same people, so I didn’t have to give them my bank account details. I didn’t have as much, and I felt they took total advantage of that. Then, when all was said and done, I finally asked to explain why the closing costs were so high, and they talked about the title company doing a lot of work that I really don’t see, and the notary guy whom I signed papers with and help in changing the county where I live in, which is important in my insurance rates. I live in a rural county and they couldn't figure that out. Lastly, my closing costs are high because they charge me for the three instances that they redid the paperwork because of the errors made by the second person.
So, I'm stuck and couldn’t do anything about it, unless I want to start all over again with someone else. Maybe because I’m only just small that they felt they won’t get enough money from me. All I wanted was for them to do their job. How hard could it be? And that really bothered me. They made no concessions, offered me no apologies, offered me nothing. I don’t know if they can be trustworthy.

The first two times I talked to Nationstar's staff were useless. The lady was trying to dictate to me what I can and can't do. She dropped the rate from five and a half to five percent which is a joke with the rates now. I wasn't too happy. I did mortgages for about six months helping out a buddy a few years back. I don't know what to do. Their program helps people out but it was a little frustrating. I got $50,000 equity in the house and I've been here 20 years. I never missed a payment so I don't know why there was an issue in the first place.
Then recently, the guy who came in was professional and did his job smoothly. The process must have taken about seven to eight days. He was glad to have the loan and that it went so quick. That's how it should be. I owed 19 years and 6 months. Nationstar lowered the rate, dropped the payment between the interest rate and I switched insurance companies to Homeowners about $85 a month. The way it's set up, I didn't have to make a payment for two months and I got a feasible lower rate. A little after three years, I'll break even on the charge.

My Mortgage was transferred to Nationstar from Flagstar a number of years ago. We bought our home in 2006 and three weeks after closing, I was deployed to Iraq. My wife (now ex-wife) was evidently missing payments for many of the fifteen months I was gone. Upon my return, I eventually found out about the missed payments and worked very hard to get caught back up. Two years later, I was deployed again. Unfortunately, the same pattern persisted during this deployment by my ex-wife. I once again tried to work with Nationstar to get back on track while simultaneously initiated separation and divorce proceedings due to her neglect.
During our first seven months of separation she was able to stay in the home with our children per military regulation. Up to this point the payments were being paid on time by me. In December of 2012, the kitchen of our house was destroyed by fire and the rest of the house damaged by smoke. I was not allowed in the house for the previous 7 months so it was a disturbing site to see the inside of my home as I escorted the fire department in after I was called to the scene. My ex-wife had not only burned my kitchen down but tore out all the sheet rock, destroyed the carpets, broke windows and damaged doors. It was to the point that the fire department condemned the home for those reasons rather than the fire damage.
The insurance adjuster from the insurance company that Nationstar elected to give me without my consent came out and did his assessment. They cut a check for $18,000 made out to me and Nationstar. I tried to use the funds to start the necessary repairs but they wouldn't release the funds without a ridiculous paper trail I had to fill out in which I had to get a contractor and his license and bond information. Once I finally was able to find someone that was willing to come out, Nationstar said that he was not acceptable because he was not a general contractor. He was a licensed and bonded contractor but not the kind they thought was necessary from their offices in Texas while I was in Georgia.
Meanwhile, as all this is happening, my divorce is finalized and I am "awarded" the house. 36 days after the finalization, I was being stationed in Hawaii for three years. No contractors were able to fit the bill for Nationstar and no property managers were even willing to take me on as a client while I fulfilled my duties in Hawaii. I contacted Nationstar soon after the divorce to see if there was a way to modify my loan so I could make payments and not risk foreclosure while I tried to get the repairs done and be able to rent the house. They agreed to the HAMP and the associate said I needed to make five consecutive months of payments and they would add the delinquent amount to the end of the loan and I could start fresh.
I immediately mailed in my first and second payments. About a month after I arrived in Hawaii I received an envelope from Nationstar with a refund check for the second payment. I called them to see what was happening before I sent the third payment. He said that they received the second payment a day late and therefore, voided the modification trial. Nobody called or anything. I asked him if there was another modification I could do now that I was settled and he said that I had used all the modifications they or Fannie Mae could allow. I never filled out paperwork or anything for any modification so I don't see how I officially used any of them.
Now I am stuck in Hawaii serving out my last year of a 21 year career while I have a house in Georgia rotting and nobody willing to help. It's even more aggravating to know that I have an insurance check sitting in Nationstar's bank collecting interest undoubtedly and my name is on the check. What is wrong with this place? I can't even rent a home without using my new wife's info because I have 2 and a half years of missed payments on a house nobody can live in. No foreclosure notices. I am not sure if one has even started. I get my statement every month like nothing is wrong. They even send me coupons! Please, somebody make this company go away.

It was very well-explained and clearly laid out before me, so well that it just made the process very streamlined.

Nationstar Mortgage is beautiful. We have the mortgage with them before and I want to file for bankruptcy because I got sick. And then after we got out of bankruptcy, I asked them if they remortgage and they told me "yes." They were all very nice and pleasant, and they never hesitate if I asked them any questions. We're very satisfied. I think they were pretty good with the guidance because they give us better rates than another company did. I'm positive we could stay with them. We have already seven years with them before that. The experience is good because I want to lower my mortgage, lower the rate and then go into a 15-year term. I recommend them to anybody.

If I could give Nationstar the largest NEGATIVE number in the universe, I would. Do NOT trust them!! I went to them for help, as we rented our home in 2014 because we had a death in the family, and I went to live (temporarily) closer to my mom, to help out. We ended up getting a tenant in the house – who turned out to be a "professional squatter". We had to evict her in superior court. This took 10 months of the year! All the while, I turned to Nationstar for help. Yeah, they gave us help alright. Our "trial loan mod" was more than $500.00 a month MORE than what we were paying when we came to them!!! Is this what Nationstar thinks is HELP??? It is now a year later, and I am still without a loan modification, and NOW, we have a SALE DATE on our home. Dirty Nationstar. I can only hope and pray, will ROT IN HELL. What comes around, goes around...

I refinanced my home loan with Nationstar in December of 2015. The experience was the worst customer services that I have ever encountered. I was told two different things regarding my loan by two different Nationstar employees to the point that I had to complain to the 1800 number on multiple occasions. I was dismissed and lied to about returned calls.
One incident involved a representative telling me via voice mail that my loan was probably not going to go through due to DTI (which I did not know what that even meant). This lady used jargon all the time and I had to CONSISTENTLY ask her to tell me what her acronyms mean. The lady would not answer my calls but emailed me that she was on a conference call and would call me back. This was on a Friday. I did not receive a phone call from her until the next week. And the DTI numbers were wrong. So basically I spent my weekend thinking my loan was not going to happen.
This is just one of MANY examples of how horrible the experience was. Many times I considered ending the process but I was too far in and the interest rate was awesome. That is the only reason I continued. I would love to actually talk to someone about my experience. I tried to call in after I closed and asked for someone to call, but I never received a call back. I am a social worker and work for the state. If I had had the work ethic of the people who interacted with me during my refi, I would not currently be employed. I hope to hear from someone to help you make Nationstar more customer friendly.

Refinancing with the Nationstar Mortgage professionals was frustrating because the recent refinancing was our second attempt doing a refinance. The first attempt was very frustrating because we spent 5 months working on getting a mortgage refinanced and it was unsuccessful due to the appraisal value of the property. The second attempt was successful because they approached me with an increased appraisal value which allowed the refinance to go through. Also, I was impressed with the fact that the gal that I worked with remembers me. I don't know if she had a filtered kind of information that brought her to inquire if I was still interested in refinance. She was very helpful and tried to work this out for me.

My Countrywide Mortgage was transferred to Nationstar Mortgage and it wasn't my choice. During my refinancing with them, they were pleasant enough but I was highly angry when I went to sign the paperwork because what I was quoted as going to be my payment each month had gone up $70. I unfortunately am not savvy when it comes to refinancing but I did my best to do the research and find out what kind of rate I could get, and what they had had informed me was that my loan wasn’t large enough to receive a lower rate. So I had to take them at their word for that. But the bottom line is I was going to have my mortgage paid off in about 15 years and now I've got a 30-year mortgage. And there's really no benefit from the refinancing except my payments have been lowered to $170 a month. I was hoping to get some equity out of it but I wasn't able to do that either.

I recently notified Nationstar customer service by phone that I was submitting (2) payments, one payment to make my mortgage payment and another payment to be applied to the principal. The representative stated that it would be noted on my account. I even sent a message explaining the (2) payments and wrote a comment on the check "To be applied to the principal". I logged in to the Nationstar "My Account" and noticed that I have paid my mortgage (1) month in advance but I did not see my balance change. Not sure where the rest of the money went to. This is not the first time this has happened when I sent a payment to be applied to the principal. It took several attempts to get the money I sent to be applied to the principal.
