Please know that Rodney ** and Racheal **, initial loan officer and Racheal, closing officer were just great. Nationstar bought out my mortgage. I was disappointed that because I had two homes and work out of town, they considered it a second house so my interest rate was higher than it would've been if it was primary. I have to pick one or the other for homestead for tax purposes. But the other one's paid off so I was not happy about that. Otherwise, I do have a lower rate. Also, I would give permission to one person and then the next person will ask me the same information. I have to scan and resend stuff. They call me late at night and expect me to be able to dial in and approve things electronically when I'm on the road and don't have a computer or do it on my cellphone which I can't see. I don't have an opportunity to print the documents ahead of time for what I'm signing which I don't like very much either. Other than that, the rest of it was good.

The service was supposed to be simple but the requests for additional funds and paperwork was just about the same as a previous loans. The customer service was on point until I signed the papers. Before signing the loan documents, I could call or email and get an answer to my questions immediately. After signing the loan documents, I did not hear from anyone on my concerns. The loads of advertisements that I am receiving and when I call, the wait time to get someone. Overall the experience was average and I hate doing new home loans application. All Tom kept saying is "the process has been streamline", not really!!! Thank you for your services.

Nationstar Mortgage took over my loan and they kept sending something in the mail so I decided to look into it and inquired about refinancing. Their mortgage team were good. Unfortunately, my fiance had a horrible experience with them. He was trying to get his refinance back when they were doing all the modification, and it took forever. I thought I was gonna have that type of experience so I didn't want to deal with them, but I went on and did it since they were already taking care of my mortgage anyway. And it worked out really well. I had one month free which was good. They were able to lower my monthly payment from 6.5% to 4.75%.

Nationstar is the mortgage company I have on one of my properties and it's easier to have the same company for refinancing so I refinanced with them. Their team was very professional, kind and friendly. One of the benefits I had is that I had 2 months where I didn't have to pay the mortgage.

After my loan got sold to Nationstar from Bank of America, they bombarded me with literature, with different reads and that I would be approved. After several months I thought, "Well, that does look like a pretty good deal." We haven't refinanced in seven years and so it has changed a lot since then. It was so much more convenient, easier to do and faster. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They called when they said they were going to call and everything fell in line nicely. They were going to save me $120 a month and it ended up being almost $210. I got money back. I didn't get any points on the loan which was nice and I got a lower interest rate.

I called Nationstar and the gentleman I talked to was all encouraging and made it really easy for me. Our house payment was even a little lower than I had expected. So, all around, it was all good.

Extremely disorganized! My loan servicing was transferred to Nationstar and I called in to send in the payment because I didn't want to be late. I was told if you pay on the 9th or after, they charge an additional fee. They would waive it for me though because it's my first time. This really bothers me as my note on the purchase doesn't say anything about an additional fee and there's no additional late fee until the 16th. They are calling it something else just so they can charge extra. Seems illegal to me.
Next... I paid that way for November. On November 16th I electronically paid the December 1st payment. On December 1st they took another payment out of my checking account. I called them on December 3rd and after a lengthy conversation involving a conference call with my bank, the money was to be put back into my account in two days. Didn't happen. Also I was told the a Supervisor would stop any auto payments. Called back in on December 10th using my whole lunch hour and another conference call. Supposedly taken care of I check my Nationstar account and the auto-payment feature is still on and...the system won't allow me to change it for two months. I am EXTREMELY upset and wouldn't recommend Nationstar to give me a loan on a tent much less a house mortgage. Considering refinancing with someone else that will keep the loan in-house with my 796 FICO score. I wish I could give zero stars!!!

We have tried to do everything we can on remodification on our loan. Just to start we went thru hardship in 2009 to 2012 financially and file for bankruptcy. Our house is upside down in price. We lost everything. The principal on our loan was 386,000 and the house is worth from 289,000 to 300,000. Nationstar Mortgage came with a modification where they basically were refinancing $529,000 for a 40 year period. I was really upset with the lack of personal attention they give to this matter and now the house is on the market for $325,000. Why can't they extend that offer to us so we can stay in the house.

Nationstar called me and offered me a good deal to refinance my mortgage. Their mortgage professionals were very helpful and nice. They explained everything to me. However, I haven't gotten a confirmation from them yet that my refi with them went through. I'm guessing it did since they're not calling. I'm also waiting for them to get back to me to let me know when I should set up my online account to start paying. The immediate benefit will be $500 less a month that I have to pay.
The only thing is before my refi I was neutral when it came to Nationstar because they have this deal where they give 15 me days from the due date. I have this in my agreement with them. I always paid online because it's convenient, but now, Nationstar's got a thing where if I don't pay within 4 days, I have to pay an extra fee to do online payments. It's ridiculous to pay extra for the convenience of not having to use paper. But otherwise, my experience with Nationstar has been fine.

My mortgage payments have been made on time, never late since I became a Nationstar Mortgage customer. When I answer the phone, no one is on the other end. When I call back I'm requested to enter my credentials. When I finally have someone to talk to, the rep doesn't have a clue to why I was contacted in the first place. I believe as long as they get their money on time, not one day late (even before the grace period), they should leave me alone.

I have been trying to have our loan assumed since 2014. I keep sending the same documents over and over as they keep asking for the same documents. The person assuming the loan has become very frustrated. You cannot call customer service, because they do not have any information about the process, and you cannot speak directly with the people who handle it. The only way to communicate is through a "secure message" platform where someone might respond within a few days. A relatively simple process that should be completed in 30 days is taking over a year. This is the worst customer service I have experienced. To be honest, I think it is probably a bad process that they need to correct. I suspect I am not the only person who has had this issue with Nationstar.

I found out that the home's insurance premium had not been paid at the end of Sep 2015 and it was coming due Oct 17th. My homeowner's insurance agent called me and told me that the premium had NOT been paid and they were going to have to cancel coverage on the home. I IMMEDIATELY called Nationstar and they promised to pay right away and assured me that it was an oversight. I assumed that this was taken care of as Nationstar had assured me of.
My agent called me in October and said I was NOT going to have any coverage on my home if it isn't paid soon. What to do? I again called Nationstar who promised that payment was on the way. What kind of lender lets an insurance premium lapse on a home they're holding a mortgage on? I called them again. They always assured me payment was coming. I've done this probably a dozen times, like they are playing a game or something. So, December 2nd came and went and my insurance company had dropped my homeowner's policy. NO PAYMENT HAD BEEN GIVEN. What to do? I'm going to pay it out of pocket so I can refi and get out from beneath these scumbags before I lose more money. Nationstar has stolen my escrow payments set aside to pay my homeowner's insurance premium. Even my insurance agent said that in over 30 years in business, he's never seen anything like it. Because from the time she sent it in to the time of the closing, the check shouldn't be applied because the other loan supposedly had closed. Our mortgage was recently bought/sold to Nationstar, and it has been a horrid experience all around. We usually pay our mortgage no later than the 5th of every month as that is when we usually pay all bills before the deadline. (My mortgage is considered late if paid after the 6th of the month with this debt collecting agency.) Also all our payments are electronic. The phone calls started coming by the 2nd of every month. This an attempt to collect a debt. Really we have never in the 15 years of holding our mortgage paid late.
Here is where it gets interesting. Our mortgage was bought/sold roughly 1st quarter of 2014. Nationstar did not request any homeowner's insurance information which was with Travelers at that time. The homeowner's insurance was never transferred with the mortgage. In April 2015 we get a letter in the mail stating our mortgage is being increased by $100+ every month for homeowner's insurance. It took Nationstar close to a year if not a year, to realize we had no homeowner's insurance. I don't understand how it's possible that this was missed. But I get a collection phone call once a month for nonsense? Nationstar needs to understand you are collecting a mortgage not a credit card or hospital debt.
But wait it get better now you incorporate $60 late fee if the mortgage is paid after the 6th and then additional fee if paid after the 6th, get with it. Short end of this, I ended doing your job of contacting our previous insurance which was Travelers finding out my payment lapsed for nonpayment because of your incompetence, then finding a new insurance company and policy. Funny thing no one called or wrote to say, "hey you have no homeowner's insurance." Thank you but no thanks. I have seen incompetence but Nationstar takes the cake. Can I receive a phone call apologizing for your incompetence? Instead this is an attempt to collect a debt when my mortgage has never been late? So, if you're ever unfortunate enough to have to do business with Nationstar, please be careful!

I consulted with a friend and said, "You do that and they're going to leave you at least cash back, $500." It’s not making sense to me. Nobody explained to me. I feel that they are cheating me. I've been thinking about moving. I'm going to sell my house next year and move to Greeley, for my grandbaby is there. So, I don't know if they will help me move it or not.

I could not believe my eyes when I read these reviews. I don't even know where to begin. I know 4 customers and none have anything good to say about this company. This company had caused so much harm to me, and instead of correcting their mistakes, they rather look the other way and play blind to the fraud evidence. They are notorious for charging junk fees. In the last 2 years I received 8 $37 fee for checking if I was residing on the property, I also received about 4 $97 fee for investigating if I had sufficient insurance on the house to cover property lost, and a trail of junk fees which this company is notorious of charging.
Most of all, Nationstar lack of security allowed a tenant to cause harm to me. Nationstar rather look the other way instead of taking responsibility. Nationstar is also very good at forging documents to cover up their mistakes. They are also good at not accepting their very own evidence of fraud and would rather say that the account is ok and secure so that they won't be held responsible. I've dealt so hard to secure my account and correct the harm, but dealing with their escalation team here in Dallas is so difficult, and they basically would not correct harm caused out of fraud activities which caused a lot of grief to me and my family.
Because of their mistake, I'm now paying sky-rocketed interested rates, high insurance. Their Customer Support is in India and they are limited in what they can do. So if you need anything, get ready to be frustrated as once you reach the department you need to reach you'll be face with the notorious "customer no-support". I have multiple complaints ongoing with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Texas Attorney General, Texas Savings and Mortgage Lending and even the Congressman Kevin Brady.
During my closing of the property, Nationtsar held on to my account for 4 weeks past the closing date because they would not correct a mistake that would allow me to refinance, delaying me in hope that I would lose the refinance. This company is a NIGHTMARE. I would recommend against them. Also, I know 4 other customers of theirs and none of them have anything good to say about this monster mortgage company.

My mortgage was acquired by Nationstar with a service start date of May 01, 2015. After approximately 20 calls to Nationstar to request payment information, I was reminded that federal law provides a 60 day reprieve on payments and late issues upon your mortgage being sold, additionally there is a 15 day grace period. I paid my mortgage in the 60 day time frame and clearly indicated the payment was for the month of July. Nationstar waited 2 weeks after receiving my cleared payment and backdated my payment to May. I was told the payments would just keep posting and the payments due in the initial 60 period would be added on the back side of the mortgage schedule. Federal law requires a mortgage company to notify allegedly delinquent borrows within 36 days of the delinquency that there is an issue.
The Law further requires mortgage companies to send a "loss mitigation" report to the borrower to explain all their options with rectifying their accounts. These actions are to be documented in writing and performed in the highest of Good Faith. EVERYONE can understand my gut-wrenching surprise when I received a court letter that Nationstar was seeking to foreclose on my property, even though my mortgage is current (with documentation) and in light of the purposeful disregard for legal procedural requirements. All I wanted was to continue paying my bills and enjoy my life and family. Now this is creating anxiety in my family and community. Due to the current legal engagement I cannot provide additional details.

Our loan was sold to Nationstar Mortgage. We did not choose to have a loan with them. At this time they did not pay our property taxes due 10/5/15. When you contact them and choose property taxes as the option through their voice system it tells you that items have to be faxed or emailed. So I faxed all documentation from our country treasurer stating our taxes had not been paid, a copy of my loan statement and a phone number I could be reached at. At this time two weeks later I have not received a single contact from this company.
Today I decided to call and just hit 0 until I got an actual operator. He could not help me and put me in the queue for the tax department which stated "We are receiving a high volume of calls." My guess would be because there are others who's property taxes were not paid either. Normally when your loan is sold they receive your escrow funds in order to pay the taxes. So where are they? On my statement it states there is not enough funds to pay what we owe in taxes so I would love to know where the escrow money went. It can truly be unfortunate when your loan is sold it could go either way, you could get a great loan company or this place.

Nationstar was persistent with its many, many letters and whatever different things. I decided to take a look and it turned out to be a decent deal. They bought out my mortgage from whoever had it before. Nationstar’s mortgage professionals during refinancing were good. Everybody seemed very professional, took time to explain to me any questions and answered them all, and get back to me on things. It was all very positive.
Their guidance was pretty good. These refinancing things tend to sometimes get a little slippery and a lot of different factors playing to things and it’s easy for somebody not to tell you the full truth, “Oh you know, well it’s not. I’m talking about these charges, not those charges.” And as I went through the refinance, some other company contacted me so I said, “Well, let me compare to know what they’ve got.” And there was a lot more slipperiness over there. Anyway, I thought it was a good process and people were pretty clear with what I needed to know.
We also have the smaller required payment. The downside with refinance is always that it makes you bump up how much you owe. It will actually take me a year or so to get back to where I'm definitely ahead of the game. But there is the smaller required payment, so that's good. Hopefully, if I keep paying off how much I was paying off before, I should be able to pay it off faster in this way. The process was very simple and straightforward and it definitely had a benefit for me.

My loan was originally with GMAC and Nationstar bought them out. It’s convenient but confusing. I was a little confused by being traded off. Closing the deal with them is a very poor process, I think, and I’m still in the process. I have been working with three people from different companies, from GMAC, Nationstar and one that I don’t know. It seems like that didn’t know what they should do. I see no cooperation in them. Result of that is I still don’t have a copy of my loan documents. I paid $1000 hazard insurance fee but I already have one and I thought it was for my escrow. And then I got a $46 check saying overage from Nationstar, and I don’t know where that came from.
The good thing that I like with Nationstar is it was a very good refinance. I got a low interest rate, I got years taken off my loan, I got a lower payment, and I got rid of the mortgage insurance. All those things are wonderful things. I also like Nationstar’s payment methods. I just pay online and no muss, no fuss. My insurance, in fact, has always been paid. But I’m just with this electronic refinancing, its fine as far as being convenient but I don’t like was a third party involved in the whole closing thing and the loop hasn’t really been closed on the paperwork. Up to now I’m not really sure who to go back the trail and make sure I get all of my loan documents.

I paid $5000 at closing, for a refinance with the same bank, when I was promised little to no closing costs.
Closing was delayed multiple times, finally scheduled for a Friday. The notary arrived at my house about 8 PM. As I went through the documents, I had more questions, as this was the first time I'd seen certain documents. For example: a document stating I used certain aliases. No, I haven't. Someone who took my information down incorrectly put it in their system. Again, I was told to roll with it, as it was in my credit file, and there was no way to change it. So Monday evening I finally signed the loan documents. Two weeks later, I had to sign everything again. No explanation of why, or what was incorrect in the original paperwork. Just a call from the bank informing me to do it, and a notary would be contacting me.
I am very happy about the lower interest rate, but the process for getting here was haphazard and less than the professional service I've received the other three times I've completed a mortgage. It was especially frustrating, as the entire process was for the same lender.

And then they just dumped me. And then, about a month later, here they come again, trying to refinance me. Then they dumped me. Then they tell me about it the third time. And I finally told them, you got everything in your possession. You either do something or don't. And I never heard from them again.
So right when I think I'm finally finished with it, here comes Nationstar. And their mortgage professional told me she'd have it done. She had it done in 9 days. Where it took me 6 months to get no results from Greenlight. I had no problems with Nationstar because they delivered what she said what she was gonna do. And it was done so fast. It's a relief that somebody actually decided to take the time and do something about my situation.
I am satisfied with the service that I have recently had. But in the past, Nationstar tried to foreclose on me and take my house. The woman said I was in foreclosure. She told my insurance company I was in foreclosure. So they cancelled my insurance. But I was never in foreclosure on this house. This is a pretty high-end house and I was down probably $13,000. Called to make a payment as stated on their mortgage statement = $4300. I was told I could not pay at that time as "attorney fees" would need to be calculated to "reinstate" the mortgage. When I called back they said I now have to pay $9200. They stated that it was now in "foreclosure status." I have never received any notification of a foreclosure, nor was any foreclosure filed with the county, I only received mortgage statements with amount due. I argued with several representatives who would only state I had to pay the full $9200 to prevent foreclosure and there was "fine print" on bill stating to call them since there may be additional charges and fees applicable. No other solutions were offered.
They also stated that any payment submitted would not be accepted, due to pending "foreclosure status." Plain and simple blackmail and extortion! Why issue a mortgage statement with an amount due if it cannot be paid? Foreclosure is a legal filing. How can an account be in a "foreclosure status" when foreclosure documents have yet to be filed, and the owner yet to be notified, charging the owner for attorney fees for a legal action that has not occurred?

It seems that Nationstar might have not paid property taxes for the year 2014 on my house to Fulton County or something did not went correctly. Consequently, tax lien was filed and FIFA was transferred/sold by the Country Tax Commissioner Recorder of Deeds. Customer service claims that it will take 7 business days to check. But it has been almost a year since it happened and the statutory time is 12 months to try to redeem. So the time is of essence. Now I am truly concerned and I will be engaging the best attorney to protect my interest. I will be curious to see what actions will be taken by Nationstar in the seriousness of this situation.

My loan was sold to Nationstar earlier this year. Immediately I started to get phone calls to refinance. I repeatedly told them I wasn't interested (as the house was on the market) and asked them not to call me. Then I started to demand that they not call me. It didn't matter, they kept calling. Also during this time I went online to check my account and noticed that my next payment skipped a month. Why? I tried calling customer service and never got through. I emailed them and asked why my payment showed as due 2 months from now, instead of the next month. The response I got was that "my payment was due 2 months from now." Gee, that's really helpful. Did you even read my question? The house sold 2 weeks ago and I was grateful that I didn't have to deal with this silly company any longer.
Today I get an email, "Your opinion counts!" I clicked on their link to do the 3 minute survey and guess what? I get "There has been an error loading the requested page. Be sure to use the exact URL provided. You are 100% complete." I tried the link again - no go. Figures. I tried their customer service number, can't get through because they don't recognize my phone number, or my SS, or my account number, probably because the loan is paid off. Given the anguish in their reviews on Yelp, I count myself lucky to have only small aggravations in dealing with Nationstar. If they can't do the small things, how do they do the important and complex tasks? They don't.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar last year and based on the problems I've read about online I've been very careful to make sure my payments go through on time every time. I haven't had a problem with that, but holy cow do they NEVER stop calling trying to get me to refinance!!! I'm not even eligible to refinance, but they call once a day (sometimes multiple times a day) from various different phone numbers. I finally got fed up and put a Google Voice number on my account so I wouldn't have to deal with them constantly calling my cell phone and have started blocking their calls every time I see a new one come in. I'm not (and never am) delinquent on my account so they have no reason to be calling me, much less EVERY DAY. From what I can gather this is a major known problem with Nationstar. STOP IT. All you have managed to do is ensure I will NEVER refinance with you voluntarily!!!

I wanted to refinance my old mortgage with lower interest and lower payment. I chose Nationstar over other mortgage providers because I was dealing with another one but I was into it for almost three months already, and they kept running more and more paperwork. And every time they did, the amount that I was supposed to bring to closing kept going up. It wasn’t the original agreement. So the numbers kept changing and because I have a loan with Nationstar, I thought I could just give them a call since they have all the information already. I called them and within an hour and a half, they drew up paperwork, got me to e-sign it, then told me what they would still need. I faxed it to them and within almost two weeks, it was all set and done. I was able to refinance with lower interest and lower payment. The service was quick and they were courteous. Overall, it was very easy.

Was also a VICTIM of the sellout from Bank of America whom I had an excellent track record with. Our account gets sold to BoA and let the nightmare begin. We get a letter from Nationstar explaining first payment not owed until January. It is about November. We called them three times just to eliminate all doubt. They assured us the first payment was not due until January. We even received mail correspondence confirming this. After my wife spoke with a rep, she mentioned it would be a blessing for Christmas and was told by the rep to give your children a good Christmas.
Fast forward to January. We get a letter advising we are 2 months behind on our mortgage. Long story short and after many phone conversations including ones with managers, we had to borrow money to get caught. We were treated like dirt by the reps, as if we were the ones at fault for this screw-up!! And what did they do after all this? They waived some, not all, but some of the late fees and charges. My credit report now shows our mortgage history is tarnished and it was perfect with BoA. You live and you learn! Now they are asking us to refinance with them. The poor rep is having a bit of a time with this because I have absolutely, positively NO trust for this company whatsoever!!

He called me and walked me through everything. The only thing that happened that was not mentioned was that Nationstar was supposed to send me the September payment back. But when I did the closing, he said they changed it and made it part of the closing. This I never understood or agreed to, but I can't do anything about it so I left it at that. Last year my mortgage was sold to Nationstar Mortgage. I have had nothing, but problems with them since. My contract permits me to pay up to six months in advance. I am also permitted to make additional payments towards principal without penalty. When attempting to make additional monthly payments, Nationstar would never apply them as such, but rather would simply apply them as if I paid additional principal. I've always had to contact them to have the payment applied correctly (yes, always) and to have my next due date moved up a month. I am now paid up six months in advance and attempting to make additional payments towards my principal.
Nationstar not only fails to properly apply my payments, but they take my additional payment from the bank, hold it in suspension refusing to apply it to my account (increasing interest I will therefore pay) and then send me notices that the additional principal payment is viewed by them as a partial payment and demanding that I correct this to pay additional funds to make a full payment or I may be reported to a credit bureau as being delinquent. How can I be reported as being delinquent when I am paid six months in advance and am making additional payments towards principal? This is not a one time issue, this is ongoing every single month. Dealing with this company is a nightmare.
Viewing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau site I note more than 11,000 complaints against this company in last few years. I also note more than 3,200 complaints against this company with the Better Business Bureau in the last three years. It appears they deliberately misapply payments to artificially inflate interest, or fail to apply payments so they can collect the interest on money held in suspense. I also believe they deliberately do these acts often times to frustrate people who pay in advance or make additional payments in order to harass and frustrate them for doing so. I believe it is their intent to frustrate customers to the point that they will not attempt to make additional payments so that Nationstar can benefit by collecting additional interest.
I am paid 6 months in advance on my mortgage. I will also note that on 09-02-2015 that I paid an additional $100 on my payment to be applied towards principal. I received an email confirmation that my mortgage was paid and an additional $100 towards principal. However, Nationstar not only fails to credit my account the extra money I pay towards principal (they hold them in suspense), they send me notices stating that I only made a partial payment and I must send them more money or they may report me as delinquent to the credit bureau. Dealing with this company to have these acts corrected is futile and frustrating. These are acts of harassment, threats and theft (not apply my money to my account, costing me more interest, holding my money in suspense where they collect interest on it).
With the number of complaints against this company with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and with the Better Business Bureau, action should be pursued against this company. These do not appear to be errors or mistakes but carefully calculated scams being orchestrated against their customers (victims) to obtain as much money from them as they possibly can.

Nationstar and Freddie Mac have blatantly stripped me of equity and left me with a 1.4 acre, 2 bedroom property that has no comparative market value. No real estate agent in DFW or the surrounding cities will represent my home to buyers as a 3 bedroom 2.2 acre home as appraised and sold to me. Nationstar completed the investigation into the fraud allegations that were confirmed by not only the City of Dallas, but also 2 additional TALCB licensed appraisers, and despite indisputable open record documents found in the Dallas Central Appraisal public record, Nationstar could only reply with the following, "We have conducted an investigation, and it was determined the error asserted within your correspondence did not occur." The Dallas Central Appraisal District is an open records public domain for the truth and the undisputed facts for what the site description was/is for the subject property from 2007 to 2015.
Nationstar does bring additional concerns to the mediation of this hardship by threatening legal action on the collection of debt. Without examining the truth on record in the Dallas Central Appraisal District, Nationstar has simply stated that "the subject loan remains in full force and effect, and we will continue to service the loans in accordance with the valid, binding documents that you signed at the time." This is nothing but a veiled threat by Nationstar to me as a client that has NEVER missed a single payment despite the economic hardship and continued inability of me to sell my home as a 3 bedroom, 2.2 acre home as sold to me.

My loan was sold to Nationstar. They had told me to refinance my loan so my interest rate would go down. I was told it was a band-aid loan. The appraisal on my property they said was at about 98,000.00. I only owed about 59,000.00. I didn't want to take out all the equity on my property so I refinance it for 74,000.00. I pay it on time for a year in. Then I was told to refinance but this time don't take out any extra money. So Nationstar told me I had to get my house appraised again a year in which Nationstar sent another appraiser which cost me $450. Then I was told my house only appraised for 70,000.00. Nationstar had call me and told me I could not refinance my home because I owe more on it than what it is worth. They also stated that I could get another appraisal done on it. They will send someone else out but I would have to pay for it again. So I did. But 2nd appraisal was the same 70,000.00.
What I was told thru Nationstar that the 98,000.00 appraisal was compared to some properties that wasn't in my district. So after spending money trying to get my house refinance started my downfall with Nationstar. Then I tried to do a loan modification for a couple of times and Nationstar only gave me the runaround. When you call them no one calls you back. When they do call you back they keep asking for the same paperwork over and over again. They were either saying the paperwork is too old or they never received it. Then I would get a letter stating that I wasn't eligible because I didn't put the paperwork thru on time. Then I tried again about a year later.
When I finally got the letter in the mail about 6 months later it said I was approved. But the very next day I got another letter saying I was not approved. So at that time with me coming out sick because of the runaround Nationstar had gave me I had gotten behind on my loans. So in order for me to keep my house I had to file chapter 13. Now they are saying I owe them over 110,000 dollars which includes their lawyers fees.

I (like many people) wait until I get a paycheck to pay my mortgage. Seems reasonable enough right? It may not always be on or before the 1st of the month, but that is what the grace period is for. I (like everyone else) have more than one bill to take care of each month, which means I deal with other companies on a regular basis. I have had mortgages with several different companies and they've all been great until I switched to this one. I have had a late payment on an account here and there, but a simple reminder goes a long way. Nationstar starts to annoy you, practically harassing you, BEFORE the grace period is even over.
An email reminder to say "hey by the way did you forget to pay your mortgage" would be fine (and you get those too!) but their volume of email and calls and whatnot is just over the top annoying and stupid. Why does this company feel the need to harass their customers, paying extra overhead above what other companies do, to get the same job done? There is NO reason that they shouldn't just tack on the late fee when the grace period passes, make sure they've notified you, and then MOVE ON like any other company. So stupid. Oh and get this. I log on tonight to make a payment on a past due account and they have it locked out from making any payments online. It isn't even 30 days past due. I know I sound like a bitter broke person right now, but seriously, this is the definition of kicking someone when they're down. *SMH.*

When I called the representative to find out why, the Nationstar agent said they were depositing the check, and would issue a new check for that amount. NOWHERE did they say they were withholding funds. I just received the check, and it was $864.76 SHORT.
When I called them for the fifth time they said since the two checks combine to over $20,000 dollars ($20,864.76) they will hold the rest until they receive ALL the paperwork they need. AT NO TIME, during my many calls, did any of the Nationstar agents say they were going to do this and the people at JASPER Roofing have never heard of this. The work is done, the insurance company paid the claim, BUT AFTER THE FACT Nationstar is now holding the funds until paperwork is received.
These funds do NOT belong to Nationstar but to Jasper Roofing who did the work, and an excellent job at that. My husband had a loan with Chase and Nationstar took over. What we did was resubmit the loan. They sent us an invitation to take a look at their refinancing options. It's a piece of rental property. It was a rent with the option to buy and the lady didn't qualify for a loan so she was not able to buy the house. We decided since we'll be holding on to it instead of selling it, that refinancing was our best option.
The Nationstar rep told us what we would qualify for as far as an interest rate. We looked at 15, 20 and 30 year options and we decided to do an application for a 30-year mortgage. At some point, it got turned over to Greenlight, which is maybe another division of Nationstar. I did the online application and signed electronically. They got moving on it and told us what we needed. We sent them everything and we didn't have any problems. Both of the gentlemen I worked with would call me every time there was an update. They were skilled in the areas they were working in. They were easy to work with and they made themselves perfectly clear.
The only glitch we had was we got a couple of calls from Florida telling us that closing day was going to be on a Friday or Thursday afternoon at 5:00 or 6:00. The guy that was going to sign all the documents with us called and said he didn’t have them. He then called back and said the attorney said yes, he would have them. So we didn’t end up closing the loan that night until probably 7:30 or 8:00. But it sounded like it was just a piece of paperwork missing. Once they got it together, the guy that came and notarized everything and closed the loan with us was certainly very efficient. We were well pleased.

Everybody there is nice, but the first person I talked to said that if I sent in all my paperwork within 24 hours, I would get $1,650 off. I do have the paperwork but not in front of me because it's a closed thing. It's filed away. So I was transferred to another guy, Eric, who puts all the paperwork together. He said, "Oh, it's not on here because the first draft of the statement...there were no deductions on it."
So I called the first guy again and told him what was going on. It turns out that his bosses said it was from up above that they could not do that anymore. It was a promotion that they had and probably pulled it. So I ended up getting around $550 or $650 off instead of the initially promised $1,650. I did go through with it, however, because we were already done with it. It was processed. It was also the end of the month and I know that everybody wants to close those things at the end of the month. But the thing is he promised me something at the very beginning when I locked in the rate and he couldn't fulfill it because his bosses said it couldn't be done. He shouldn't have done that. That's wrong.

NationStar has taken more than seven months to comply with, or effectively reply to, a County Right of Way Acquisition of land. NationStar Customer Service has neither had the authority to resolve this issue, nor have they successfully put us in contact with a representative to assist us in navigating the bureaucracy to resolve the finalization of payment offered by the County for this acquisition. As customers, we have been frustrated in going forward with the Government Acquisition over which we have had no control.
For more than half a year, we have been in legal limbo, unable to move forward, nor have we been able to properly prepare for the Tax Burden that will be levied at the end of the year on this payment that we have not yet received, much less refinance or sell our property because of the legal entanglements caused by NationStar's lack of action. If your mortgage has been acquired by NationStar, based on my experience thus far, I emphatically recommend that you refinance with someone else. This company does not deserve anyone's business.

I came to Nationstar after my mortgage was sold to them from Bank of America. I started receiving letters that I should refi. I called them up to refi and found a loan that I liked. Everything seemed to be running very smoothly the first week. Once it was transferred to the closer I stopped hearing anything. Every week I would have to reach out to her to get a status. She was never available by phone. After the third week I had to go back to my original mortgage professional to get a status. He emailed her, she then replied back to him referring to me in the third person as "The Borrower." After over a month she finally got back to me with more paperwork and corrections that needed to be made, however instead of picking up the phone or sending me the inspection notice, she sent me a list of issues asking me when they were going to be fixed. I had no idea what I was supposed to address first.
I finally went back to her and asked for a different closing agent or asked if I should go to different mortgage company if they really didn't want to work with me and communicating how to reach a point where it this could be closed. She emailed me back that she wasn't being difficult, that I just misunderstood. She never did answer my request for a new closing agent. The same day I got an email from Nationstar to rate my experience with working with them on closing my loan! I guess they assumed it was done and over with as it had been over a month.
The original person I spoke to called me back 2 days later saying his boss wanted to get this finished. I told him about my aggravation and that she was not responding to my requests. He said he would go to his boss and have it reassigned and that by noon the next day it would be taken care of. The next day I didn't hear anything. I waited another day and then sent him an email asking if it had be reassigned. He said his boss would take care of it but they just wanted to get the other documents they had requested. At this point I had enough of Nationstar. I notified them that I was not going to stay a customer any longer. They are not able to communicate and work with customers. They took what should have been a fairly straightforward process and it turned it a stressful drawn out process. I never felt like my complaints were taken care of or heard.

We'd like to apologize for any lack of communication you've experienced with Nationstar during the refinance process. Nationstar helped us out with a complicated refinance of a mortgage on a rental property. We got a fair deal and good interest rate going forward. The Nationstar representative worked out a good deal and we went forward. Closing took longer that expected and there was some confusion on the lenders side when assembling the closing documents. Overall - we were satisfied with the results, although some of the back office support at Nationstar seemed to be a bit overwhelmed or lacking in experience.

The first time I called, it seemed that the Nationstar people were nice so that kind of pushed me over. I was looking for a reverse mortgage but they don’t do that, so I had to wait awhile for that. Everybody has treated me real good. Everything is satisfied.

We went ahead and refinanced with Nationstar realizing that the mortgage payments could go down with the interest rates. I also get six other people, six envelopes a week telling me to refinance. When I talked to Nationstar's mortgage professional, it was very good. It was much smoother and easier than I expected it to be. I freed up about $700, which we needed to do. That's the biggest benefit in lowering our monthly payments.

I found out that the home's insurance premium had not been paid at the end of august 2015 and it had been due June 30th. My homeowners insurance agent called me and told me that the premium had NOT been paid and they were going to have to cancel coverage on the home. I IMMEDIATELY called Nationstar and they promised to pay right away and assured me that it was an oversight due to them just receiving the loan from Bank of America in April 2015. I assumed that this was taken care of as Nationstar had assured me of.
My agent called me in august 31st frantic and said I was NOT going to have any coverage on my home. What to do? I paid it. What kind of lender let's an insurance premium lapse on a home they're holding a mortgage on??? I called them again. They always assured me payment was coming. And had kinds of ridiculous reasons why the payment NEVER Made it to the insurance company... Even they were using FedEx AND it was being sent to an address in the SAME city. As of October 13, NO PAYMENT HAD BEEN GIVEN. What to do? I guess legal recourse is going to have to be done here. NEVER HAVE HEARD OF SUCH ROTTEN BUSINESS... And neither had my insurance agent.

My mom passed away in December and we were both on the mortgage. I kept calling Nationstar informing them that she passed away. I sent them her death certificate, ticked them to quit calling her phone, sending correspondence that she's no longer alive. I kept asking what I can do to refinance the house because I'm not qualified for her. They never helped me. And my last draw was calling Nationstar in September because they called my mom's old phone again. This lady said, "Do you want to take some money?" and I said, "Well, I've been trying it since January." And she hooked me up with Raymond who was the first one to help me.
For eight months I called the company and they didn't help me until September. It’s a little bit disturbing that one person out of the whole company finally told me that he could help me. I ran out of money and all I heard from Nationstar was keep my mortgage current and had to get my credit card payment down. So I had my payments with them because I refinanced whatever the remaining balance I had. My payments are lower. I can't say that I'm happy with the interest rate because my credit went to tat going through these eight months of hell. It's not where I wanted to be but I can't do anything about it now.

We're so sorry to hear your mother passed away. Our records indicate that we were able to help with the refinance process, but if there's anything else with can do to assist, please let us know. We'll also have a member of our team follow up directly to help. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

I did not choose Nationstar. They bought my mortgage from Bank of America. I was very unfortunate and my company moved operations from California to India. Therefore, with my income reduced I had no choice but to ask for a loan modification. I had been working with BofA on a modification and received a modification just as the loan was transferred to Nationstar. Nationstar did not honor it and had to start all over again. Since the transfer Nationstar has been a nightmare to deal with. They DO NOT communicate with you, unless you call them. They have dedicated customer service specialist assigned to your case who do not return calls.
Customer service representative are undertrained, not know how to do their job or just do not care. They ask that you call back for an update (they will not send updates). Every time you call you get a new person and a new response. They are not consistent on their response and they do not share the same information. I've escalated the call several times only to hear a different response. The responses sometimes contradict the previous response (it's like the blind leading the blind). It has been a nightmare dealing with Nationstar.
Do not understand how this company communicates and how they can stay in business. They currently have over 3,000 complaints with the BBB serving Dallas and Northeast Texas (nationally must be much more horrible). They also have over 11,000 complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Beware of doing business with Nationstar.

I had been going through a lot of issues with the other lending bank but with Nationstar/Greenlight, I was able to do the paperwork close and do everything within weeks. It was amazing how quickly it happened. Their rep was also the one that found a glitch as to why I couldn't do the HARP loan with the other mortgage company. He found what the problem when nobody else bothered to find out. With the refinancing, my mortgage is going down by a couple hundred of dollars (it's due November 1st so I'll be paying it shortly). I also locked into a rate whereas before I was on an adjustable rate.
