My mortgage was sold to Nationstar Mortgage. I decided to refinance with them because they already know me. Everything went smooth from the beginning to the very end. They were very thorough and they kept me informed about everything. Although the monthly payment went down lower, the interest rate did not, but it will. Overall, it's going to be fine.

I recently got a refinancing with Nationstar Mortgage because the rates had been going down and thought that it is a good opportunity to take advantage and save some money. I got them because I've been with them and had nothing but good experience and they already hold the loan so it was was very convenient for me. I reached out to one other company, but they were not as responsive. The first mortgage professional I spoke with, Kim, was wonderful. He was excellent, very knowledgeable, punctual, and efficient. And the second guy, Anton, was also great. He got me the paperwork, turned it around, gave it back, and did everything electronically. It was very seamless. They make it effortless. With my Nationstar refinancing, my percentage dropped a bit and then I saved some money monthly.

My other mortgage company transferred me to Nationstar. My husband passed away and I wanted to lower payment for my mortgage if at all possible so I inquired about refinancing. When discussing my options, their reps explained everything and sent an attorney for the closing. My experience has been wonderful and it's the easiest thing I've done. Nationstar was able to lower both my interest rate and monthly payment by $300.

Overall, smooth and straightforward process. Every documentation had been done on computer; which was very good but very confusing at that time - too many similar documents to review and sign. Also, there were two reps; one from Greenlight and another from Nationstar - both communicated with me and confusing too. An expected matter which was never disclosed until almost last step, I had to specifically ask "how much is the fee?" Surprisingly, within the same mortgage company refinancing, the fee was considerably expensive.

My parents use to be with another mortgage company but they were switched to Nationstar Mortgage. But since then being with them they tried to refinance. They're a bank but was told that Nationstar didn't have their title but they're just taking payments. So that really didn't make sense. So then I helped them fill out paperwork to modify their payment so they could get their payments lower and back current. So they said they received the paperwork but my parents still haven't heard anything. Then today a man show up saying that he was coming to lock their mobile home up and cut the grass because the property suppose to be vacant. So they don't have the title so my parents can refinance but they have the power to lock up something. They have been trying so hard to keep and get refinanced or modified. Not understanding. Very confused.

We started the refinance process. After qualifying, things took a long time. Granted, we needed to satisfy the Bank's appraiser (Painting, crawl-space issues in porch) but took care of that within 10-12 days. The kicker was finally when they said that, because it had been more than 90 days, credit would need to be Re-pulled. Had things moved along a tad faster, the second Credit Report would not have been needed to be pulled. On the plus side, Japhen ** had a very nice friendly voice. Refinancing is hell to begin with, when one of your mortgages is about to double, triple or quadruple, so updates about What To Expect would have been great.

Just when you think you have sent them everything, they wait about 3-4 days to tell you that they need your Bank Balance to be higher for the, SURPRISE, higher Closing Fee, because another week had passed and they needed to charge you another $600-800 for Lock-Rate Extension. Another company I had found via Lendingtree.com warned me about Nationstar.

I have two loans with this company and both have been mishandled in servicing. Lender failed to advise me of payment changes even when I called in twice to make payments and was quoted the old payment amount both times. Subsequently they billed me large lump sums and report 6 and 8 rolling late payments subsequently even tho I was reassured on three separate calls that there would be no negative reporting since I had never been advised of the payment changes. There is currently pending litigation to force lender to correct this situation.

I refinanced my loan with Nationstar because I was exhausted over notifications that I'm eligible for a lower rate. I thought, maybe this way, I will finally get off of the distribution list so that I don't get these every single week. The first mortgage professional that I dealt with was extremely painful, to the point that I did not even want to continue and there were extensive notes that pretty much said, "Look, this is the way it is. Take it or leave it, we really don't care." I was really put over a barrel. The credit rating had already been impacted.

But the second rep was very much more amicable, worked with me and created a better overall impression. Yet, there was no guidance with regard to my refinance options and so far, it seems there's no benefit and no difference refinancing my loan with Nationstar. Their payment methods are horrendous, specifically on the website. Having to enter in the checking account number every single month is extremely tedious but, if you do business with Nationstar that's what you have to do. Be on the lookout.

I didn't notice the increase in the statement until I got a call stating I was three months delinquent; I made a payment immediately to catch up the account (per the representatives instructions), and still didn't get caught up. It seems if you don't pay the exact amount, these goobers put your payments in limbo (I'm sure the bank collects the float). I'm still trying figure out why this bank is collecting more than double (close to triple) the amount needed to pay insurance and taxes. Seems like doing this type of tactic generates a lot of revenue. Shame on you Nationstar!

Started my VA loan assumption in mid June of 2015... I returned EVERYTHING they asked for within 12-25 hours EVERY time they asked and I faxed and sent hard copies they UPS! I ALWAYS followed up with phone call to make sure things were received! I can't tell you how many times over the 8 and a half months it took to get my loan completed... I was asked to resend information – information that I was told they had received! I would call NUMEROUS TIMES they out summer to the liaison – as well as email, and she would NOT respond forcing me to deal with many, many customer service agents who would tell me the loan was still under review... But would never get a response from the liaison! Hey – I was given names of managers who didn't exist, phone numbers of supervisors to contact who when I tried just got that message “the number you dialed is a non-working number!” NICE!!!

After my loan app. expired they pulled my credit for a second time without telling me approx. in Oct. When the liaison mysteriously reappeared and asked yet again for some of those same personal documents that they had received. When I asked where these papers were that had my personal info on them the response was very flippant “Well we need them to get this done!” Ok. Resend again. Resubmit another purchase order (the grand total of purchase orders for this whole experience – 5!! with updated dates each time and a promise that it would be done!!). You think it's over by now right??? NOPE! NOVEMBER-ish... I was then denied because I was not a veteran! I said “Per the information I received from the VA I do not have to be a veteran to ASSUME a loan.” and the argument began! Luckily the VA sent a email for me to forward to them explaining the process and offering assistance if needed!

So the process gets picked back up once they realized I was right! Obviously the "expert loan officer who is very knowledgeable in VA loan assumptions" didn't know that point! Nor did they know that the person assuming the loan was to be financially responsible for the loan after closing – because they insisted that in December now the prior owner had to sign a paper saying he was aware that even though I would take over the loan it would get reported to HIS credit... WRONG AGAIN!!! Back to the VA for help and at this point the VA, who doesn't really get involved, started to get involved because the length of time this has already taken was ridiculous!

So – now after the weekend I get a call from a NEW liaison who has promised we are going to have this done by the end of the month (December) hopefully... and yet another updated purchase agreement with updated bank statements and tax forms AND pay stubs – just so they have them and he wouldn't have to request them from the other person?!?! Well December came and went. January came and went... February is here and we are finally maybe getting somewhere. All the while we are now BACK with the first liaison! Another purchase agreement sent in... And we finally get the "packet" to the title company to which I told them they truly should not even charge me any fees for this because of the length of time and losing my personal info! Another excuse given “We've already discounted your fees for us as much as we could.” They forgot that I had the ORIGINAL good faith estimate! (It was only a $24 difference) Really???

So I let it go, did the closing... Sent papers back for them to sign and return!! YOU THINK I’M DONE AGAIN right??? Hahaha. NOPE. Papers were somehow misplaced and/or put in wrong bin in the mail room! Title Company was told to file the copies at the courthouse. Ummm. YOU MUST FILE THE ORIGINALS!!! Well... They were miraculously found that evening and returned and filed March 1!! Phew! Hahaha. Got you again. I made the first payment with extra and good thing I followed up online! They took the payment but different mark the extra principal... Where was it? You ask?? They put it towards payment of the fees from closing! The same fees that they were paid from the title company already!

I called and it had to be looked into but they finally fixed that! At that time I decided to follow thru with my initial plan of filing a complaint. A day or so before I called I received an overnight envelope from Nationstar with a few pages of copies of my driver’s license, pay stubs, tax forms – DATED JUNE, 2015 that I sent 9 months prior and they were from someone I did not recognize nor did I deal with! Seriously? So complaints filed on March 31, given a date of April 29 that I would have an answer by the end of business on that day of course. Then given April 11th due to needing an extension to research and told that there's never a second extension (I asked) and yet today when I called, no answer yet and umm... Sorry I was wrong but it's now 45 business days and the deadline is now June 1, 2015!!

I was given the man’s voicemail who was researching and I left a message expecting a callback... To which I have not received... And when I called this evening I was given a supervisor's name who was handling this I was told – and another voicemail and message. And BTW this man’s name was different from the man’s name I was given earlier today!!! Thank you Nationstar for being consistent with your inept procedures! So sad that I had to write this to hopefully get a response!

I had a large amount of equity so there was really no need for me to continue paying such a high amount when I was done. I recently refinanced with Nationstar, and it's one of the easiest and most streamlined. I got a hold of one of the refinance streamline professional and he got very basic information from me. I followed up with an email and sent him some additional information and documents. The guidance was very straightforward and clear as well. They were very efficient, quick, and clear about everything that was happening about the entire process. They had the signing agent come out and meet me at my location, which was super convenient. The agent took care of all the paperwork digitally. Their website is easy to navigate, which is wonderful from an end-user perspective.

However, there didn't seem to be a ton of different options especially since I was using the VA loan and wanted to continue using it. I probably could have gotten a lower interest rate and felt surprised that it was only a fraction of a point lower. I was slightly disappointed by that since I thought I would be able to get a point or a point and a half reduction. But the interest reduction will help me ultimately in the long run. I was also able to skip two months of payment and they were able to lower my payment by over $200 a month, which is awesome because now I make money on it being a rental property.

I would've liked it also if Nationstar would have been clearer about having other loan officers involved. It would have helped me with knowing who I was supposed to be emailing. I thought I was going to be working with the initial agent I talked to during the first couple of times, but they passed me from that agent to one of the underwriter or sub-agent. Still, I think Nationstar is awesome and I've recommended them to a couple of people. I couldn't speak highly enough about them as far as customer service, speed of service, and clarity of process. I can't even believe how easy the refinance is. I'm shocked that other people wouldn't go through an immediate refinance.

We have a mortgage with Nationstar. We had gotten so many letters that we qualified for a HARP loan. After speaking with a Mortgage broker, he said it would be a in-house loan. You would think that would be easy, it's not been... We have a satisfied judgement. Reported by the title company, which we question why are we issuing a new title, when we are still the current owners, and they already held the mortgage. They weren't sure. It was just the way things are...seriously...so they denied the refi, because of a judgement, that is a UCC filing not a lean against our mortgage.

We called the folks who entered the judgement. They would need to get a court date in Delaware then get a attorney here so it can also be recorded. Here's the kicker, it doesn't need to be done because it is recorded as satisfied. All of this to refi a inside house Mortgage plus fees of up to $4,000.00. Greenlight has hit our credit report 4 times in less that 90 days, then greenlight declines us. So how do we get Nationstar to refi their own loan because it has been a nightmare?

Closed on my home 24, December, 2014. My established monthly mortgage payment with Nationstar Mortgage was $1858.34. I receive a mortgage statement from Nationstar each month stating that the amount to be paid was $1858.34. Fourteen months later, March 2016 I received a statement indicating that my monthly mortgage payment had changed to $3867.39, an increase of $2009.05. I was informed this change was to cover escrow balances. I was totally shocked. No person expects an increase of $2000.00 in their monthly mortgage payment. This created a severe financial hardship for my family.

It appears that Nationstar miscalculated funding required to cover the escrow account. I did not want to pay the increase mortgage amount, so I opted to refinance with a different mortgage company, which cost me additional closing fees in the amount of $11,000. The company negligence is astounding. I would highly recommend not choosing Nationstar to meet your mortgage financial needs.

Nationstars's mortgage professionals who assisted me with the application process and the streamline loans were excellent, definitely great and very patient because I took a lot of explaining. They provided excellent guidance during the discussion of my refinance options. With Nationstar, I skipped mortgage payment. The interest rate may have gone up a little bit but it was about to adjust a lot higher. I refinanced into a fixed rate from adjustable.

I was very pleased with my refinanced experienced but dealing with them as far as making payments, calling if I have questions is like those average torturous phone calls. I'm tired of getting transferred from one department to another. Right now, they haven't got me my pay off letter or ask me about it, so I'm a little bit disgruntled. I'm not dissatisfied with the company only a little upset because they're holding up my whole process of getting another equity loan because I need that pay off. My mortgage was transferred from Ocwen Loan Servicing to NationStar Mortgage in May of 2015; I got a letter notifying the transfer and when I begin sending my loan payment to my new servicing company, NationStar. I made May and June 2015 payments to NationStar and hopped the transfer went smooth. I was expecting the last $1000 incentive credit to my loan principal in December 2015 but notice that I didn't receive it. I waited until March 2016 to see if NationStar reduces my principal by $1,000; no luck. Afterwards, I decided to call their customer service and inquired why I didn't get my last $1,000 incentive and when I should expect the one-time $5,000 incentive which I qualified and submitted Dodd-Frank Certificate, I received from Ocwen in April 2015. The customer-service Rep indicated that she will contact their modification department and expedite my incentive request and will get back to me after 3 business days.

Few weeks past, I didn't receive any follow-up or being contacted by NationStar. Once more, I contacted their customer service and this time I was transferred to Isabel **; she was very polite and indicated that she cares to solve my issue. She apologized for this inconvenience and promise to take care of it for me. However, after she puts me on hold, she stated that they had not received my Dodd-Frank Certificate from Ocwen. Therefore, she sent an email with a new certificate and asked me to sign, date and send back to her immediately. I received the email, printed the certificate, signed, dated and emailed her as an attachment. She confirmed receiving it. She stated that she would reach out to me for an update.

One-month past, and I haven't heard back from her. Today, May 2, 2015, I contacted NationStar to follow up my preceding request. After a little run around and the rep told me that my earlier request was closed. Nevertheless, she said, "don't worry, I will submit another request and expedite it to modification department." I refused to go away and demanded an answer. She puts me on hold for a few minutes and told me that my previous request was denied due to receiving Dodd-Frank Certificate letter late. She told me that I supposed to complete it with in 2015.

I explained to her, that I signed and dated it on April 7, 2015 and submitted to Ocwen Loan Servicing as requested. But I also mentioned to her signing second one on March 2016 with NationStar. Eventually, I had it enough; I made 3 way call to Ocwen, which has confirmed they forwarded my Dodd-Frank Certificate to NationStar Loan Service along my modification documents. Afterwards, Ocwen rep told NationStar rep and I that he would submit an investigation why I didn't have the incentive.

Suddenly, after I cut off the Ocwen Rep, the NationStar rep told me that they had everything, but they didn't receive the incentives from the US Treasury Department, and they have been behind issuing the credit for four months. She said, She just found out and could only issue both credits when the U.S. Treasury Department issues the Credit to NationStar. She said that they had received number of customers complaining specifically this matter. I have no faith in this company and its customer service department and wished my loan was never transferred to NationStar. I didn't have any problems getting my incentives for past 4 years and suddenly when my loan was transferred to NationStar, I had nothing but headaches.

They were there until the closing and were very informative as to any questions that I had and answered them thoroughly. Nationstar were able to accommodate the things that I wanted which were a lower rate and to go from a 30-year mortgage to a 15-year mortgage. So my payment actually went up a couple of dollars, but it is the way I wanted. Probably the only way it could have been any better would be if it would have been a zero finish. We are pleased with Nationstar Mortgage company for the time we have had a loan with them. I'm not as supportive of the Greenlight Loans section and have rated them accordingly. They were not very upfront on the closing costs that we had to pay on a refinance. I was under the impression the costs would be rolled into the loan. The agent didn't make it clear at all and we were surprised at closing and were glad we had money in our account to cover them.

It took months to clear up the mess made when Nationstar bought our loan from Bank of America because our payments went to B of A for two months. Then when I sent a check to Nationstar they mailed it back to me and threatened foreclosure even though we never missed a payment. I spent hours on the phone with them to no avail. It was finally resolved when I paid extra fees for being late even though it was not ever late. Now my aunt whose loan was also bought by them is being given the same kind of poor customer service. Her husband died suddenly and two weeks later her home was severely damaged in a storm. Nationstar is being very unprofessional and insensitive even though they are not the ones who carry the insurance. They are wanting the insurance check. I would never willingly take out a loan with this company.

On 9/12/15 my house of 30 years burned to the ground in the Valley Fire. In October my loan was transferred to Nationstar. This has been hell on several levels. When I say "to the ground" I mean, TO THE GROUND! So, in my throes of shock, I call Nationstar and tell them, no flood insurance. They question me and I point out that there is nothing to insure. If it floods, the dirt goes up and then it comes down. All I own is dirt. (I am paid with them through July, btw) - sooo I get a bill and open it and it seems I am paying close to $200 a month into my escrow account for flood insurance. So I call. Reaching a human being, btw is paramount to impossible, so do make sure your battery is charged. Yes - the extra monies are for flood insurance. But no one seems to be able to tell me what company I am paying it to, when it gets paid, or a phone number. All they gave me was "Prior Insurance" - 2 hours on the phone for this. This is off the hook.

7 months later, that is almost $1,400 of my money, and they cannot tell me who my insurance policy is with. I'm not very happy about this, to say the least. The gal on the phone, who was very nice, assured me that she would have an "answer" for me on Monday (this being Friday), but SERIOUSLY? You are charging me every month and you have no bloody idea who it goes to? Unfortunately, this is not my only go-round with them since my house burnt down. Trying to get my own money - it takes HOURS on the phone. I am not happy with this company. I know they have a boatload of my money and I would like to know just how much they are making on my grief and struggle. I'm seriously not impressed and I seriously do not want to spend my work days dealing with this nonsense. I didn't have a choice, like I said, they bought my loan, but if you have a choice - step away from this plan and do NOT have an escrow/impound account with these people.

I had 5.75% interest rate and wanted to lower it, so I went with Nationstar in refinancing my mortgage because of a couple of things: First, since I was already established with Nationstar and they knew that I made my payments on time, I had hoped that would be a plus for me. Second, when I inquired at Nationstar, they didn't have a $500 application fee that some of the other companies had.

The reps were professional, which I very much appreciate. They told me the facts and sent these to me on my phone and computer, so I could look at and initial it, and do the things electronically. The convenience was very nice, but the professionalism and honesty is what I like to deal with. I consider myself able to make a reasonably sound decision only if I have the facts. They also gave me enough time to talk to my son on the phone since sometimes children like to know what's going on and I was asking for their opinion as well. The gentleman was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, and spoke good English. Overall, my experience with Nationstar was very professional, timely, and good. They guided me on things I didn't know and answered my questions. I'm pleased in general.

Recent flooding in Houston, Texas left 9" of water in my house without flood insurance. Called Nationstar to request a loan modification allowing relief from 2 months of mortgage payment so I can repair the home. Flat, unapologetic - "NO. We do not offer relief". I did not ask for "free". I simply asked for a 2-month relief and I would pay them 100% during the 3rd month. I was informed that if I do not make my payments it will affect my credit. I have another house financed through a different company. They said, "No problem" and "No penalty". Nationstar is simply only interested in the money. Pass the word - use somebody else!!!

The only complaint I have is, what I feel to be, the exorbitant cost of setting up bimonthly payments. I want so badly to give a 5-star rating but paying $300+ to establish the bimonthly payment plan is more than I care to wrap my wallet around. Some companies charge a small fee per transaction (as low as $4) which I feel is more practical given that my mortgage could be sold at any time and the bimonthly payment arrangement will not carry over to the new lender.

Extremely happy with the loan officer I worked with at Greenlight Loans - Megan **, then I worked with Claudio **. Both were always available and answered my questions through email or phone calls within 24 hours. What I was not happy about was receiving a call from Nationstar about my "delinquent" account when we were in the middle of refinancing. They asked me when I would be making my mortgage payment since it was the 6th day of the month and I had still not paid my mortgage. I told them we refinanced on the 1st (closed on the first) so that loan had been paid off and we would be paying on the new loan in 60 days. They knew nothing about it, told me to contact the refinance company... ummm that would be Greenlight Loans... to see if the refinance actually went through because they were going to send the account to collections. Mind you, this phone call was on the 6th day of the month.

I called both Megan and Claudio. Before I could get the whole story about they knew exactly why I was calling. I was told this has been a problem with customers who refinance and they are working on getting better communication between the collections department and refinancing department. My refinancing had gone through, and I was correct in not making that month's payment. However, no one wants to get a phone call 5 days after refinancing to be told you are delinquent and going to collections. Fortunately, one phone call to GreenLight Loans and I was assured everything was taken care of. Claudio even followed up with an email after the phone call to confirm the refinancing had gone through and no need to worry about the phone call from Nationstar. Very thankful for Megan and Claudio. My interactions with the people at Nationstar were very satisfactory. They answered all my questions and I was happy. The only one problem is that they asked for certain information and I emailed it to them, but about two weeks after I received the policy, I got a notice saying my premium was being increased because I had not furnished some kind of a test and the copy of my old policy. I called the person who had sent me that and I said I did send them to the individual I was working with during the remortgage process. My complaint isn't that they wanted to get it cleaned up - my issue is their process around it. They will call you INCESSANTLY... and ask the same information over and over and over. I'm not talking about getting a call once/mo or even once/week. I'm talking multiple times a week.

They do not read the agreement that is your file. I've been on a payment plan - it's agreed and I've been in compliance with this. They STILL call me repeatedly. It borderlines harassment. I don't fault the individuals making the call - they are actually quite courteous. However, the process doesn't educate/train them to (1) read the file, (2) be up-to-date on the agreement in place. It's just a consistent harassment to make payments. My $0.02 worth. I am selling my home and will be very happy to never work with this group again.

During the initial phone call, I didn’t have time to talk to the guy and I asked if he could call me back in about a half hour and he did. He wasn’t pushy and gave me lots of information. He told me what was possible and what he thought he could do. He kept me informed all the way through. There was another woman that got involved and it was the same thing with her. At one point, she told me something that was different than what the first rep had said. When I mentioned this, she said “Okay, I will check with him before we go any further on that, because maybe he knows something I don’t.” They worked together and I liked that.

My interest rate was significantly reduced, way more than I ever thought it would be. I chose the option that gave me a lower monthly payment on the same terms. Also, I had an FHA assumable and it was very important for me that I continued to have an FHA assumable in the event that the time comes when I can’t live in the home any longer. If I would get to a position where I wanted to sell my home to go into an apartment, an assumable makes it more attractive and easier to sell. That was one of the things that I told the guy early on and he said he was gonna get me information on this while I do my research on the matter online. The experience was beyond wonderful.

I first looked Nationstar up when I heard my mortgage is being sold and there was a ton of bad reviews. But, I considered that if somebody doesn’t get approved, they’re dissatisfied. The first thing Nationstar wants to do is blow up so they got to work out the kinks. I was paying a huge amount of interest and they kept sending me stuff. I figured I have nothing to lose so I considered refinancing with them.

I’m a firm believer in the old saying “If it’s too good to be true, usually it is” especially when you deal with people that deal with finances and money. When I dealt with Chase and they told me I couldn’t refinance because of some stupid thing, I figured "This is BS. I've never heard of such a thing." The next thing I know, my mortgage was sold. On the other hand, I felt comfortable with the Nationstar mortgage professionals. They said, “This is a fixed rate. There’s no hidden fees.” There was only one closing fee and they had added it to my mortgage. So, I had no money out of pocket. The guidance they gave me was very professional and I felt good about it. I’ve been very satisfied.

I had a Property Loan for a number of years with NationStar. It covered an investment property that I was renting. When I decided to "restore" the property after the last renter, in order to sell it, I informed them I could no longer make the payments @ 6.125 interest rate. I requested to either make "interest only" payments until the house sold, or get the existing loan "refinanced" in order to afford the payments. THEY REFUSED on both accounts and proceeded almost immediately to foreclosure proceedings! I had to obtain a lawyer to help "stall" the process and STOP the constant badgering phone calls from coming. The lawyer cost me more monthly than the interest only payments I was willing to make. I believe that since there was a lot of "positive equity" in the property, they were hoping to foreclose before I could get the property sold... more money for them!! So much for a BIG BANK HELPING OUT THE SMALL GUY?!?

Starting with Greenlight. My opinion is stoplight. Asking me to approve 3 different sets of closing documents of which only one was correct. Having to go back to the original author of the documents to find out which one was right. There are laws regarding these kinds of things and getting inaccurate documentation at closing is one of them. In my case the escrow documentation was correct. Right after closing I received a document that said my escrow account was woefully inadequate. That first half taxes had not been paid. When, in fact, they had been paid in February. My guess is that insurance may have been included in that also. Travelers has not sent me notice that they weren't paid.

My experience with Nationstar has pretty much been that they have no idea how poorly run their business is. It isn't just the refi experience. Just calling in for customer support I constantly heard a recording about bankruptcy and debt collection. Would I recommend Nationstar to anyone. Absolutely not. If over the years things improve. Nationstar is by far the worst servicer liar company ever put together!!! They treat people like garbage and never, and I do mean never, give anyone a loan modification. They can't. They don't have any owner of whose behalf they are acting. They just lie, lie, lie and collect fees, fees, and more fees. They make me sick as does those phony reviews of their Outstanding customer service, **!!! It make me ill, sick to my stomach when I see the crap they post, that no one believes for one second. Google Nationstar complaints and view the real truth. Nationstar, you are not fooling anyone!!! Knock it off already.

Updated on 05/10/2016: In addition to my first review I have now discovered that Nationstar changed my documents in the county recorder's office. They completely eliminated the first assignment with Bank of New York Mellon and even went as far as backdating the original assignment, now there is nothing, expect my certified copy to show that the Bank of New York Mellon was ever a party to my loan!!! Are these people crazy? Do they have no sense at all? Do they think they are above the law???

Anyone else with a Nationstar mortgage must ask them to validate the debt, ask them on whose behalf they are servicing and collecting a mortgage for. When they provide an answer, and they must, by law, write the entity they are claiming they are acting on behalf of a letter and ask them what position they hold in your "Loan". I guarantee you they have no ownership of your loan, which only means to me, that Nationstar mortgage is collecting on unsecured debt, no owner, no loan. I have not and will not pay them for the last two years and write them every once in a while telling them that I know for a fact that they are not acting on behalf of any true owner as we funded our own loans with our signatures and no one ever lent us a dime!!! If they do try to foreclose on me, I will have them in court so fast their collective evil heads will spin.

They are the most abusive, non-compliant servicer I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They are even worse than Bank of America who is also very abusive!!! If you want to really get them and attempt to cancel your debt, if they do not respond in a timely manner, go to the website, scrib and read the book mortgage killer 2 and use the three templates, which ask for everything but the kitchen sink, which we all know Nationstar cannot and will not provide and if they do so, they will incriminate themselves. I am on my second letter which I mailed certified to the chief financial officer. Nationstar has sent me wishy-washy letter stating that we will address your concerns by such and such a date. And then they send me the same old garbage, which shows and tell me nothing more than I already knew.

They have no owner on whose behalf they are collecting and servicing for, so I send them letters telling them I am going to take them to court for RICO violations, mail and wire fraud and any other violations they have committed in their illegal collection of unowned liar loans!!! Now they are reaching out to me offering me another attempt at a loan modification which I tell them to shove where the sun don't shine. They have threatened foreclosure on several occasions but never go through with it.

You have to be very aggressive with these **. Let them know you mean business and sit back and relax. Save your mortgage payments to hire a well-versed attorney, make sure they know what they are doing with regard to securitized mortgage backed securities. Also, if you are with Nationstar there is a very good chance that MERS is involved in your loan. If it was or is, call the 800 MERS number and enter your MIN (mortgage identification number). I did and it was deactivated right after Nationstar took over servicing the non-existent loan, which means the loan was satisfied with an insurance claim they would've applied for after you or I fall 91 days behind. They then receive three times the amount of the original loan.

I watch the sheriff's foreclosure list and it is unbelievable to me that Nationstar is foreclosing on unknowing, innocent homeowners, who I then write to and tell them not to allow Nationstar to steal their home without having an owner they are foreclosing for!!! I also send a letter to the foreclosing attorneys and warn them that I am watching them and they had better be coming to court with a true owner on whose behalf they are foreclosing for or I would take them to court on behalf of the homeowner myself.

I just think we all need to stand together and make these people accountable for the stealing of our money and our homes. If we don't force a change, it is our children that will pay the biggest price. Let's stand together and fight for our rights. If enough of us let these crooks know we are on to their tactics, lies and crimes, perhaps someone will be imprisoned for their very real crimes against America. Unfortunately the judges and government are corrupt and we must rid our country of all of these liars, cheaters, and thieves!!! My last hope is God's wrath against them when they face their maker. He will not allow them to enter the gates of heaven after all the sins they committed against mankind, and for that I am grateful!!!

Do your due diligence. Question them on every bit of your loan and all of the documents they are using to collect and/or foreclose on your precious home and take all of your equity and your American dream. Our country is a mess and it is high time we stand up for our God-given rights. Let's get them out of office, out of the courts and out of the banking business altogether!!!

I called them on a completely different matter and asked about the rates, and the lady transferred me to somebody in the sales department. Then I switched from a variable to a fixed rate. I thought it might be a good time to get fixed rate, as opposed to worrying about whether it was going to continue to go up to the point where it would not be good for me. It was the right rate at the right time.

I have an insurance policy on my appliances and AC and all of that that was offered by Nationstar. They didn't switch it over, which I kept reminding them that they needed to do, but I've taken care of that. Except that I ended up having to pay for two months service in advance because that's how long it is going to take for them to fix it. I also got a new homeowners policy and it happened at the same time. So then I had to pay three months of homeowner's policy. All this money that I may be saving went out the window on that day. I also didn't realize there were some closing costs that I was not aware of. I became aware of that at some point which they rolled into the loan. Overall, it was good and very fast. The young man that came out with the notary was very nice, very competent and knew exactly what he was doing.

Let me start by saying that originally Nationstar helped us modify our only home (Primary residence) October 2014 after working with our attorney and Nationstar for almost 5 years. We then got it modified like I said in 2014 and all was good! Then my father passed away on December 9, 2014 and the home was left to us. In or around May or June we were notified by a knock on the door by a company that we were in default (foreclosure) on a 2nd that was on our home through Banco Popular, which we were not aware of, due to we never received anything regarding this. I immediately contacted Banco and yes apparently they jumped in to pursue foreclosure when they were somehow notified that my father passed away. Banco then began to work with us and modified the 2nd in March 2016 with a payment set at $345 monthly (definitely doable) and an additional monies put down.

***Now that we modified this from dad we wanted to resume payment with Nationstar and so we refiled an RMA with Nationstar and then within 2 weeks we denied and told they will not do because our property is so upside down. But to contact "Keep Your Home California". So I did and because Nationstar added or they say capitalized $154,757.00 on the back of our original loan of 677,000.00, we now do NOT qualify for the principal reduction program or any help with reinstatement because that put us over the $729,500.00 balance that is allowed. Well thank you very much Nationstar for giving us no options now except to foreclose or short sale.

So now our family of 8 is without a home soon because they want us to get rid of property because it isn't worth the $831,000.00 that they now have the unpaid principal balance at, when the value is around $550,000-$620,000. So yes very underwater.. I don't understand why Nationstar won't reinstate our payments of $3300, we had no choice but to get the 2nd out of foreclosure due to not even knowing about this until over a year after our father passed away. We are stuck for we have no finances to hire another attorney to help us for we are self-employed with a family business since 2005. I think I have exhausted all avenues to get help with not wanting to lose our home. I have contacted Nationstar and told them we have no problem continuing to pay $3300 monthly and then our 2nd of $345 monthly.

Please help, WE at this TIME DON'T HAVE a SALE or AUCTION DATE, but we are scared, don't know where to turn, where we are going to live, help. I have 2 girls going to college and one is 85% deaf and needs equipment, etc. ****This home has been in our family since 1970's and we remodelled it in 2006. I have even thought about maybe I should contact the News Media to get my story out there.

A few months ago Nationstar offered us a better interest rate, so we refinanced with them. The mortgage professionals did fine. There's a little bit of issue when you call customer service and you have to request to talk to somebody that speaks clear English. The other issue I'm having, and I just emailed somebody about it, is that we set up our house payments so we don't have to worry about it. We signed at the 29th of February and the traveling notary said they're not gonna take a March payment because it'd be too likely to get applied to the wrong account.

However, they took a March payment on March 1st. But that account was closed on March 2nd. It was not a problem, the money's on the account. Here it is, April 6th, they split that payment into the escrow amount for property tax and insurance and the house payment portion. I got a check sent back to me for the escrow amount and the main, principal amount of the house payment was supposed to be EFT returned back to our account. That hasn't happened yet and I can't get a response back as to why it hasn't happened. So overall, I am not happy with Nationstar right now.

I had a mortgage that was sold to Nationstar and when I refinanced it with them, the reps I've talked to were wonderful and excellent. They were knowledgeable and they could answer my questions easily. They made my life easy and now, my payment is $200 less.

We talked to an Nationstar representative that helped us set up payments because we had fallen behind in our payments. I lost my job and unfortunately one of our siblings has passed on, so therefore we had to contribute to funeral expenses in order to help bury him. Although I lost my job we were still able to afford our mortgage payment. What put us behind was helping out with the funeral. We were three payments down and tried to set up payments online that prompted us to call Nationstar. We called Nationstar and talked to a representative whom set three payments up to be deducted from our bank account every time my husband got paid. One of those payments had to be paid that same day and we was ok with that.

Exactly five days later we noticed the Nationstar account was not updated to reflect that first payment that we made. I called and explained to the representative what happened and asked what happened to our payment. He put me on hold and when he returned I was shocked to hear that they were starting foreclosure on our home. He said that was the reason the payment did not post. He also indicated he did not see any type of notes that we talked to someone else. He then quickly said "if you can't afford your payments you should try to do a short sale."

I was also given a disconnected 1 800 number that he said help people going into foreclosure. My jaw dropped in disbelief and I responded back by saying we were not told our home was going into foreclosure when we talked to the representative that set the payments up. I also told him we want to keep our home and that we can afford our payments. I even asked him "why would you guys allow us to set up payments to catch up, take the first payment (that needed to be paid immediately) out of our bank account if you could not accept any payments from us because you are starting foreclosure?" He did not have an answer.

We are truly devastated and really want to finish raising our kids in our home that it took two years to find. We are big on family and did not hesitate when we were asked to help pay for funeral and burial expenses for my brother in law. Should we get penalized for that and for trying to correct the situation? We were indeed mislead and lied to.

Updated on 4/10/2016: Part 2 of the Mislead and Lied to. Nationstar put in the comments that someone privately would be emailing us 5-7 days with a resolution. We never received the email. Instead we received a check from them for the same amount that was deducted from our account on Friday 04/08/16. We also received a letter on our door today Sunday 04/10/16 from the Wake County Courthouse for a hearing in May on foreclosure of our deed of trust. Thank you so much Nationstar for your resolution. We were indeed retaliated against. If someone can please help us because we are trying to keep our house. Please feel free to contact us. Thank you.

I wish we have better deal. The interest could have been lower and the processing fee 0 like other banks. My son's refi their properties and Bank of America did not charge for processing fees. We have been customers of Nationstar for a long time. We deserve better. Not happy at all.

There were a couple of things that were confusing at one point but everything got worked out when we refinanced our mortgage with Nationstar. Their rep came right to our primary house and did all the paperwork, the actual signing was done right at the kitchen table. That was convenient for us and everything was just dandy. We were able to take some years off of our payments, so we've been saving some money. There was one little issue, which was just a typo and they got it handled so the experience was great.

After becoming disabled, I called to file for a 2 month forbearance so my disability check would post before my mortgage. This happened while on the Equity Accelerator program. For the past 6 years I have been on time. Not only is this in itself an embarrassment, but so is the fact when I called and spoke to Chris, he stated Nationstar does not have a Forbearance program. It is one go the options on the website.

Update: My last review, Nationstar responded saying a member of the team would reach out to me to help. As of this date, no one has called my number, which is **. Due to timing of receiving my SSDI check, I'm making my payments late and just want a Forbearance so I can get back on time.

I recently refinanced my mortgage with Nationstar Mortgage LLC/Greenlight Loans. Kyle ** was wonderful at working with me to find the best refinance option for my family at the current time. He really took the time to answer all of my questions and stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. I also worked with LaRhonda ** to process the closing of the loan and she was very helpful and responsive.

I had a mortgage with Nationstar, and there are two reasons why I refinanced my mortgage with them. One of the reasons was that my interest rate back in 2003 when I financed, the rate was a little higher. Plus, I received a lot of communication from them that there’s a good chance to refinance at this time. So I decided to go ahead and go with that. Their reps overall were good. They definitely lowered my interest rate and I also dropped it down to 15 years instead of 30 years. So in the long run, I’m going to save some money there. It was a pretty smooth and easy transition since I already had an account with them.

I am attempting to deal with my parents estate with a reverse mortgage. The mortgage is being serviced through Nationstar after my parents passing. On this end of Nationstar's process they are absolutely horrendous. There are not enough people to process documents, whether this is on purpose or not, and I submitted documentation for several months, in the form of 3 faxes (with proof of sent), 2 certified letters (with a signature received) and 5 emails (with a sent confirmation) to have them tell me that they did not receive it. They finally confirmed receipt when I repeatedly sent it to the rep while she was on the phone with me. She said that the process would take 5 days, it took 2 weeks, as I repeatedly emailed and called. The documents were denied, and this is a will and trust that the state of Florida accepted, that qualified for a homestead, that the DMV accepted and every other financial institution that I took it to.

It is difficult to imagine that they are NOT trying to derail the process, they make it so incredibly difficult. They could not give me a specific reason, as I was not "authorized on the account" because they denied my docs. So, can't fix it because they won't tell me what to do. In the meantime, they started foreclosing the instant my mother took her last breath. Again, hard to imagine that they are NOT trying to complete their foreclosure and are making this as difficult as possible.

I would highly recommend against using Nationstar after the experience we have had and I wish I was able to voluntarily move our loan to someone else. We had hail damage and filed a claim with our homeowners insurance, which went smoothly, and we then filed the necessary documents with Nationstar, the servicer of our loan. We provided all documents requested, and about 6-7 months ago sent the final check to them for counter-signature. The work had been done and the contractor was awaiting payment. We kept calling to follow up and many times we're told everything was there, the check would be going out. But when we wouldn't receive it we'd have to call back, which always took 10-15 minutes to get a person, and suddenly they'd need yet another document, one that we'd either sent or that wasn't on the list of documents they needed, or perhaps one we'd discussed and been told was just fine in an earlier call.

It seemed almost deliberate to ask for one more thing, one more thing, just to draw this out and hold our check. Mid-claim they somehow picked up the loan number from a second house we have and that got carried forward by everyone, so that took time to straighten out, but after that it still took months. When we'd ask for a manager or supervisor they could never "find" one. After 6-7 months of holding our check, we finally received the money back, without interest of course, but they had no problem charging us 35 for the inspection.

I had previously asked that that be waived, since they screwed up the loan number and had all these questionable requests for documents we'd already provided, but they did not waive it, and instead added it to our loan, where we also can pay interest on it. I would change companies on both our houses if I had that ability, so we would not have to ever deal with Nationstar again. I would highly recommend against using them.
