I came from GMAC Mortgage, had two mortgages with them, and they were absolutely awful and atrocious. I've been with Nationstar for about five years and I love them. One, I appreciate the fact that they're a mortgage servicing company that is not just in the business of originating loans and then selling them off to the highest bidder. Back to 2008, that practice is what put us in that exact catastrophe.

Two, the service is pretty good. I had a recent experience where I refinanced both of my loans with them before the interest rate started to increase. Their subsidiary, Greenlight Loans, was super responsive, really helpful, got me some additional discounts on some of the closing costs, and made it 100% cost neutral to me from an out-of-pocket expense standpoint. The refinance went smooth and I haven't leveraged any big service since then. I logged in yesterday, saw both of my new accounts, and have set up my new auto pay. I didn't have to stop my old auto pay when my old account closed out. It's a real simple and smooth transition process. Customer service is the focus of the business and it's clear. Nationstar is a fantastic mortgage company and I would not consider leaving them anytime soon.

Nationstar Mortgage bought my mortgage from Freedom Mortgage when Nationstar bought Freedom. Nationstar advised me to refinance for a lower rate and their reps were really good, especially Derek and George. They did a very fantastic work in the process and provided excellent guidance. Refinancing helped me lower my interest rate a little bit which dropped my monthly payment for a few hundred, though I wish it was more. I look forward to refinancing again in the future.

It was Christmas time and everybody's broke so I thought it'd be a good time to refinance. The news was predicting that the rates were going up and I could still save a few points where I was at the time. My interaction with Nationstar's staff members was super. Their guidance was adequate and informative. Hopefully, everything got taken care of. We got a lower rate and less monthly payment. They have great customer service. They follow through with everything and get back to you.

Nationstar is our original mortgage company so we stuck with them for the refinance and it was the easiest and best experience we've ever had with any kind of mortgage. It was low-key, no drama, the simplest, and no issues throughout the whole process. We're thrilled to death. The loan officer sent papers for both of us to sign and we had absolutely no problem getting in, logging on signing our name. Now, we're on a 15-year mortgage and our first payment is due on February 1st.

I did not initially obtain my home loan through Nationstar, they bought out the company I was initially doing business with. I had never had any problems with my initial mortgage company. Since Nationstar took over, it has been YEARS of problems!!! They took out a mortgage payment from my husband's checking account without his approval and are now refusing to credit our account OR return the money. I have had years of bad experiences with them, and they are rude, disrespectful and arrogant each time you try to talk to any representative (a few won't even provide their NAMES). And they also will tell you something different.

I was divorced in 2007 and I sent them a copy of the decree and asked that my ex's number and address be removed and that I should be the only person they do business with. Well, they apparently called him and sent him letters, but I was never made aware. They put my home in foreclosure even though I was given NO warning because he had been ordered to pay back payments, so I had to come up with over 10,000 to keep our home for me and my 3 children (which we had just lost everything we owned in 2004 to a house fire)!

This company is THE WORST I have ever dealt with and if I were you, I would run the other way!!! Any mortgage company HAS to be better than this one. I am in the process now of speaking with attorneys who deal with mortgage companies and then I plan to get rid of Nationstar FOR GOOD!!! Take heed/don't get screwed over like they do so many others!!!

I was with Nationstar shortly after I purchased the house and then they bought my mortgage out and I've been with them ever since. I gave them the first opportunity to refinance with us and just went with them. I checked around and since I was going with the same company, my closing costs were a little cheaper. But still, their guidance was fine. They were pretty thorough and I was always in touch with them. I had a daily conversation with them either through email or even a phone call and they were informative especially if there's anything that changed or I needed updating on. My payment was about $237 cheaper so I'm now getting extra $500 a month on my 401K because I refinanced my house

The Nationstar reps were very professional and they helped me do the best plan to re-finance with. We worked it in the most efficient way. I had adjustable mortgage interest rate. So now I have a fixed mortgage interest rate and it’s definitely an advantage now that the interest rate is gradually going up again. The refinance process was very short and that's the best thing about it. They had sufficient information to process the documentation and make the process very short to do a closing. They also helped me with some of the closing cost, in terms of how we were going to apply that towards the loan.

I got a lowered interest and a lowered payment, and they didn't have to come in and check the current value of the home. The two gentlemen who I dealt with over the phone and the internet were terrific and the young lady who was with the title company that Nationstar used was also fantastic.

Nationstar erroneously force-purchased insurance on my home, when I had the home insured and the insurance paid for. They proceeded to adjust my escrow account and raised my payment by over $800 per month to cure what they thought was a depleted escrow account because of the insurance payment that THEY erroneously made. The discovery of this occurred in September of 2016 and here I sit in January 2017 with the matter still unresolved. All the while I am forced to make a payment that is $800 per month higher than it is supposed to be. If I don't pay the full amount, including the $800 adjustment related to Nationstar's mistake, guess what happens - foreclosure threats. This is the closest thing I have seen to legalized theft.

I cannot get anyone at Nationstar to resolve the matter. They simply put you on hold for no less than ten minutes at a time and pass you on to the next person who can't help you. I have spoken to no less than 10 different people in an effort to resolve this matter. Each who says that they will work to get the matter resolved, but then does not. This is such a basic error that should be resolved so easily. I am going to resort to just paying the mortgage off so I can now get what is an excessive escrow account refunded to me and then refinance with another lender. I never imagined that I would experience customer service at such a poor level. I know - I'll get the "we are sorry that you have this problem" BS response to this review. That response will undoubtedly be as disingenuous as their customer service model.

I talked with whoever the loan officer was first and he answered some of my questions, and then the person that I worked with the follow up did a great job as well. They were very professional. We were doing a HARP, so there were basically no docs and it dropped my interest rate. It's mostly standard refi so it made things very simple. They've been the nicest people I've dealt with. Even the lawyers that they called to talk with me about the changing mortgage were very polite and informative. I had a 2.75 mortgage and they kept telling me that it was running out and that I had to do something to keep it from going really high. So at last ditch, I finally told them okay. Now, they've got it at 4.75. I didn't have to pay my December and January payments. I'm due to pay in February so that helped me through Christmas season since I've got four great-grandbabies and I had to buy for them and got a lot of other stuff cleaned up too.

I spoke with a lady from Nationstar and she got it on the paperwork. I told her what I was trying to do and that I was cut short on time, and she put everything in. She got me on a HARP loan so I didn't have to go through an appraisal and it sped things up a tremendous amount. She went above and beyond, was very polite and helpful. There were no problems with anything and it was a really quick and painless process. And all was good and they seemed to have looked out for our best interest. We're gonna get to pay our mortgage off a little bit sooner and have a little bit lower payments. My husband and I were both really impressed.

BofA sold our loan to Nationstar and that's when the problems began with our mortgage. They forgot to credit our first payment and therefore claimed that we were behind for months. We were in the middle of a Ch 13 so they never sent any correspondence nor phone calls. As soon as our BK was completed after 5 years of payments, they raised our interest rate and told us we were behind for several months. We tried to modify our loan 3 times and were denied. After living in our home for 11 years, they are in the process of foreclosing. We would still be in our home if they would have put our interest rate back to where it was. We can't afford the extra $900 a month. We have now lost the $300,000 that we put down on our home and are left with nothing. We don't even have anywhere to live.

My mortgage was purchased by Nationstar, and since the market was favorable for a refi, I went through the process with them. I had a lot of difficulty with the people at Nationstar. Originally, everything was going smoothly. And then, they were waiting on a questionnaire back from my building management, and I never heard from them again. I followed-up a couple of weeks later. I tried tracking them down. I tried calling the agent. He wouldn't return my calls or my emails. He finally returned my email and said that I need to call somebody else. I called his boss and I was advised that they were told by my building that there was some pending litigation which was not true. It then took a couple of weeks for me to try to clarify that with them. It finally got clarified and everything went through. It was totally mishandled and I should not have to chase down. I was about to take my business elsewhere.

I wasn't even advised that the original refi had been denied because of this misinformation that an assistant at my management office gave. I never received any information. I then found out that it had been denied and why it was denied. I called the management company and spoke with them and found out that it wasn't true. I'm very sure that whoever was servicing this whole process to refi could have figured out on their own but didn't. I wasted a ton of time doing it. And, I went through an entire application process with another bank. I was very close to pulling it and even paying a higher rate because of it. I was so frustrated with Nationstar. I'd probably wouldn't use them again because of this experience. Certainly, if I have a choice between two banks and getting the same rate, I will go with the other bank.

I pay my mortgage on time. I've never missed a payment in six and a half years. I've been with them since they purchased the loan. I've been a great client. I've never caused any issues with them, and going through that process and dealing with the multiple calls and multiple emails, I wouldn't recommend them to somebody. When I refinanced, I got a low rate which would have been matched by my primary bank. It was the same interest rate it would have been with my bank. They would have matched it. However, I didn't want to start the process all over again and deal with another inspection. I didn't want another appraisal. I just wanted this thing to be done with. So, I stayed with Nationstar for that reason only, and the only benefit is the online access to my account.

Nationstar Mortgage was my previous mortgage holder. The biggest reason that I went through with my mortgage was because their reps were complete in explaining what would transpire from beginning to end. I didn’t have any concerns. I've refinanced six times throughout my life and it was not always a picnic. I had some hellacious problems during the middle of refinancing. I wanted to be sure that I wasn’t going to be dragged through that again or I wasn’t going to bother because my interest rate wasn’t particularly high. What made it the easiest was due to the people that I was working with and it went exactly as they explained it. It was the simplest refinance I've ever done.

Being with Nationstar Mortgage was a shot in the arm. On the back of me somewhere, at some point, I would like to be on a fixed mortgage so that I’ll never think year to year how’s the economy doing. I don’t have to worry about that now as far as my mortgage. I had peace of mind. If there seemed to be other concerns, I was always answered immediately and they explained thoroughly how and why things didn’t look like what was on paper. I was reassured all the way through and they left me worry-free. It was nice because, in the middle of the holidays, I've had other personal issues going on that I didn’t know if it was the right time to do a refinance. But they made it so easy that we just breathed through it in the middle of what I got going on. Kudos to the employees of Nationstar because they’re the ones that made it all possible and easy enough for me to say, “Go ahead and proceed. This isn't going to be a headache.”

Overall, they were professional at Nationstar and it was a care-free experience. I would refer Nationstar Mortgage to anybody. In fact, many people have asked me and I told them to call Nationstar if they had questions and I would give them the names of the people that I went through. I even saved them on my phone so that I can do that.

I called Nationstar and asked them if they’d be interested in doing a refinance. I wanted to lower the interest rates on the loan that I have with them. The guy said he would but I had a PMI and he said there's no way that he could get the PMI off. He quoted me about $1,700 a month so I shopped around. I found out that I could get it without the PMI and with lower interest rates. Then all of a sudden, the guy from Nationstar was able to come up with a loan without a PMI. I was frustrated with that because he should have done that initially instead of being dishonest and playing games but I did end up going through Nationstar because the process was quicker. I didn’t have to worry about a bunch of paperwork because they already have my loan. Once I accepted the offer, the process was pretty quick so that was nice.

Truly the worst experience possible after the sale of our home. The home closed on September 9th and despite having spoken to multiple representatives who claimed our check would be there within 3-5 business days, as of December 13th we still haven't received our check. On multiple occasions we have sent in further information that would expedite the process, to no avail. We actually were supposed to receive two checks, one for $40 and one for over two thousand. They expedited the $40 check. No one communicates with one another. The representatives are polite, but clueless.

I was switched over from BOA to Nationstar. Explained my problem with my mortgage and Bank of America's modification which was only 3 dollars and change taken off my mortgage, was told no problem. Knowing I was already modified twice at BOA they let me go through the process of a modification with them only to deny me because I modified my mortgage before. I am far behind on my mortgage only because BOA told me I was losing my house regardless so I stopped paying. Received the letter of denial yesterday. Called to see if I can do a repay or anything because my financial situation has gotten a lot better, told no.

My main complaint is if a new bank buys your mortgage your modification through that bank should not reflect on a new company that in turn could help you more than the other and one of the denials where my hardship? I should of at least been offered a modification that met the requirements of the program as a option on the forbearance plan. Why even let me go through a modification if you knew I have already been through one and to have no other option but lose your home that I've lived in for twenty yrs.

I looked into refinancing to lower my interest rate, for debt consolidation and also go from a 30-year to a 15-year duration. In fact, I was going into it with the idea of just refinancing and doing another 30-year and they gave me some option of doing the 15 and the pros and cons of it. So, they really helped me out with making a good decision. I paid off my two vehicles and lowered the monthly debt payments that I had. Moreover, I was able to pull out some cash from my mortgage and also do some more upgrades on my house. Everything was very much informational for me. Everything went smoothly. My experience has been very professional, and the people at Nationstar were polite and courteous.

My existing mortgage company sold my mortgage to Nationstar. I refinanced with them for the ease and because they were going to get the thing done. I've been in the mortgage industry myself and what they have is a real fast type of a refinance. I still did check on the rates and other things, and getting the refinance done with Nationstar made sense to me.

I questioned the gentleman from Nationstar quite lengthy about my different options and he gave me every bit of information that I was missing like current aspects of rates. He was very helpful. He answered every question that I had to my satisfaction and gave me enough information so that I can make an informed decision as to how I wanted to proceed. It was very easily done. They sent everything to my residence and it was a reduced documentation type loan and very painless. My biggest benefit on my own loan was keeping my monthly payment the same and reducing my term. Having been a loan officer since 1987 and just retiring last year, I knew how I operated with clientele and I was just extremely impressed with this particular loan officer, the processing staff, and the way they handled the whole transaction.

They got back to me quickly and they were very professional. I was extremely impressed.

It was fast and fair experience. They were there when I was working very hard to balance out my budget due to the fact that I went through a divorce and I wanted to keep my home so I could keep a stable environment for my boys. My credit score was messed up badly that time too. But I was able to increase it and I kept calling and contacting Nationstar then they finally said my credit score looks good. I couldn't believe that I was going to be helped and I was. I refinanced at a lower interest rate which saved me $300 a month on my house payment and the closure on the loan went very well. But it wasn't and I was glad too because I was at 6% and it was a good move.

The mortgage professional I talked to was really good, knew his stuff, answered my questions without hesitations or any stuttering and was just to the point. There was another person who got involved after I spoke to the rep and it seemed that I was dealing with someone that wasn't very good at communication. She was the one that sent me the forms and information and asked me for things that they needed. The process can be simple when they have people that are detailed. And especially when it comes to money, people should be more detailed when they're asking for things from the customer and be more explicit and not send a generalized request. But overall, it was an easy, smooth and simple experience. It was great and now I got lower payments and lower interest rate. There were a few snags along the way but that's to be expected when it comes to dealing with people.

Nationstar Mortgage recently took over my mortgage from Seneca in October. So far in three months they have yet to send me a single bill on time, before it is due. Each time the date approaches I call them to let them know their statement/bill hasn't arrived. Each time they act befuddled by this and say it should have been mailed. Each next time it happens yet again. Last month they automatically converted my account to paperless. I had to call and have them change it back. So far I'm not impressed by them at all. They are simply making a lot of additional work for me which is a huge annoyance.

Updated on 12/06/2016: So I call them today and ask to speak to a manager to finally resolve the situation as the previous two representatives I spoke with obviously had no idea what they were doing. The manager assured me that I would not be charged a late fee for their error, and that they apologized for not sending my statement to me as promised. He also admitted this was a known problem they were having with many people who had their mortgages transferred over from Seneca.

4 hours later I receive a call from the Collection dept. at Nationstar, reminding me that I owe them the payment for this month and a late fee will be assessed if they don't get it in time! SERIOUSLY?!? WTF?!? This company is terrible. Just terrible. My original rating of 2 stars was obviously way too high. Shortly after the closing, I received a notice from Nationstar indicating that I have an escrow shortage of $5,979.97. This raised my monthly payment to $2,500 (the monthly payment prior to refinancing). I have called Nationstar on numerous occasions since October for answers as to why I have such a significant escrow shortage in my account after the refinance. I have not received any answers or explanations. I am fed up with Nationstar. Every time I call I spend more than an hour on the phone with no resolution. This experience with Nationstar has been atrocious.

I have now applied for two loan modifications that were both denied. I recently got divorced and got behind on expense because of my ex's late alimony payments. I was struggling to make ends meet and was making less than half of the income I had while married. I applied for a loan modification the first time and was denied because the debt to income ration was too high, but they include your current payment in that factor. I luckily got an amazing promotion that significantly increased my income but I still had to get caught up on past expenses and late mortgage payments so I applied for a modification again with my new gross income and expenses and they then stated I make too much money now.

I was told that they based my income off my paychecks and one of two of them had some paid time off I cashed in to catch up bills and they did not bother to actually review the paycheck stub or they would have realized that was not my usual income. They are offering me a payment arrangement that will increase my monthly mortgage payment by nearly $400 for the next year. The other option was to refile for a modification. I have spoken with several reps who have been less than helpful and I am starting to think that they are not interested in trying to help the customers, they are more interested in profit.

I am appealing the current denial because of the income being factored incorrectly which was never even offered to me as an option until I did research into other people who have had similar experiences. I just want to be able to keep and afford my home and I don't think they are interested in helping me with that. They are not transparent in their processes which would help customers out tremendously. I am hoping the appeals process will lead to a different outcome but at this point I have little faith in their business practices.

Refinanced in February with Freedom Mortgage. Made 1 mortgage payment and got sold to Nationstar Mortgage. Everything was going fine, we were making our monthly payments with automatic debit. In October we received our escrow analysis indicating we were short. After reviewing they included our homeowners insurance, which we pay outright, not part of our mortgage payment. Called Nationstar and said they were sending out a new analysis (it is now the middle of November and still haven't received it). They paid our homeowners insurance, which they shouldn't have and wanted us to call to get it back. It was their error, you contact them.

On top of everything they told us we were a month ahead on our payments. How can that be? Arguing with customer service telling them they were wrong. It got to the point, we asked to be transferred to a supervisor. They went ahead and took, what they say, our new payment is out of our account. We called again! They reversed it and never took out the true amount. This month I paid via check (screw the automatic debit, not having access to our account). Go online to view payment amount, it's indicating new rate. WTH? I overnighted my payment (the correct amount) and now system shows we still owe. I'm hoping I don't see a late fee.

Oh, and still no new analysis! Send emails nobody gets back to you, they give you an extension that you can never reach. Every time you call, it's a different state they're located in, they can't transfer you the person you want. This is unacceptable for a company. We've had a mortgage for over 20 years and never, ever had a company like this. What's a shame is we got sold to this company and they are screwing with people's money. In order for me to find a new mortgage company, I'll have to go through the crap I did before with all the paperwork and money going out. I want out!

The first person we spoke with to get the refinancing started gave us a rough quote of our new monthly payment. It was $100 less than our current. Knowing it would fluctuate some we continued with the process. The second person we spoke with gave us roughly the same numbers. As we got closer to closing the cost to close kept getting higher but the monthly amount was still roughly the same. The day of closing our paperwork didn't get to the notary until a few hours before we were to close I got a call from Eugene (the day of closing) and he said there was another change to amount of cash to close however there would be a lender credit so we didn't have to come up with any more.

Then we are finally able to meet with the notary to close on the house & find out that instead of a payment roughly of $100 less (per ALL the papers we were sent) we didn't really save any money at all on our monthly payment and when I contacted Eugene it was because he had the numbers down wrong. When tried to contact supervisor about my issue I never got a return call or email. Then I was unaware of a refund of $11 & charged a $10 wire transfer fee. I did get a hold of Sean and he did take care of this situation of refunding us the wire fee. However when I tried to call Sean & Eugene about an email sent to us after closing I never received a return call.

So I guess customer service only matters while you're trying to get my money & not after you already have my money. I hope my payments can be allocated right because if we end up paying more in the end due to information not being correct there will be EVEN BIGGER ISSUES TO COME!!! I guess Customer service is a dying art and obviously customer service with your company has been not only dead but buried awhile with dust on the tombstone.

Now the last couple month I have seen 1 stupid message after another on their website when you try and log in. Today's has "Well This is Embarrassing... You can also mail it in but that can (and has almost always) take them weeks to process. I thought if I am going to pay late fees anyway, I would just wait for the website to get back up. This company is so huge and bureaucratic that the times I have dealt with their customer service has been a very frustrating experience. I have had to request escalations to supervisors about 75% of the time because their service representatives lack the knowledge to do a good job on first contact and apparently are getting the required training and/or authority to make quick basic service decisions. Case in point: on 11/09/2016 I called to secure assistance with requesting a loan Payoff Amount. The website was terrible slow to non responsive but I waited and finally figured out where the link was buried, only to find out that I could only receive the payoff amount document via fax or email for $25.00! No email offered. I did check fax but did not get confirmation!

Called customer service and told that they could "see" my request for fax. I told them I wanted email to get quicker. Rep said that they could not cancel my request? I asked for escalation to supervisor explaining that he had authority to do what rep should have authority to do. Rep placed me on hold, went to supervisor and was able to cancel fax request and assured me that I would get payoff document via email in 1-2 days. Well I had to call during next 10 days because of no emails. Went thru the same process and again assured emails was coming. Even gave them different email address.

Well today, 10 days later I had to call again because still no emails. This time I had rep check status and rep told me that 3 emails and 1 Fax request had been executed today 11/14/16??? 2 emails to me and 2 emails to Title Company where I was getting a REFI away from Nationstar Mortgage LLC!! Emails arrived today at 3:06 pm AZ Time. Point of this complaint: This company should be avoided, unless you want to have a similar lack of excellent customer service offered by other mortgage companies. Since my loan origination date is after the federal guideline date, my loan is not qualified for HARP or HAMP. So, I requested an in house loan modification from Nationstar via their waterfall process and each time it is turned down after coming back from the underwriters. The unwritten rule is that your loan has to be in default (=>3 months) in order to receive a loan mod; however, I do all I can to avoid defaulting in order to protect my credit rating.

I continue to experience undue hardship which I have also outlined in hardship letters to Nationstar. I would like to keep my house and would appreciate some loan modification assistance from Nationstar as my loan as many do not meet the HARP/HAMP loan origination date guideline. I was told it would never show as a foreclosure but now it has ruined my credit!

The mortgage was transferred at some point, and then again, and recently to Nationstar who has sent me a mortgage with my ex-wife's name prominently displayed as being on the mortgage. I called them to see what the problem was. They cannot find my quitclaim and want me to go solve this. Nationstar is responsible for getting this right. Not me. THEY are the ones that lost paperwork. Neither Cobalt Mortgage nor Seneca had any problems with this but apparently losing paperwork is how Nationstar operates.

They constantly remove funds and fees from my account that doesn't reflect on their Detail Transaction History. This company will "nickel and dime" just to make a hefty profit! No matter how many times you find an issue with your account, with concrete evidence, they always find a way to deny such issues or errors! Every time I bring up valid errors or concerns with my account, they like to vaguely address the issue, their responses are full of fallacies! How do you expect a company to provide a truthful and correct investigation, if they are the ones that investigate themselves! This company will lie and cheat to fill their pockets with profit! I started the refi process on 8/22/16 and the excuses started to flow - The Appraisal took OVER 30 DAYS (not good - I did get lots of excuses). They don't like to make outgoing phone calls and when I get through I get "I don't know." Today is 11/7/2016 and we still don't have a closing date or a reason why. 90 days to refi a 58% LTV is not good. If you're reading this - find another company.

32 reviews, 1.0 star rating, 11/7/2016. This is the third mortgage company my mortgage has been transferred to and from day 1 it has been nothing but issues. It took over 3 weeks to access my account information online... Each time I called I was told just try to access it in a couple days, until I finally spoke to someone who gave me the Nationstar account number and got me access in about 5 minutes. I was told due to the switch I had a grace period to make payments however that apparently also meant I would get calls every other day asking for payments over the phone.

Not sure how to say this without it coming out in a terrible fashion but the people that would call were essentially like talking to a wall. Not sure if they didn't understand English or just didn't care what I was saying because whatever I said never got a response that answered my question or made me feel better about a concern. If you want to kill a solid hour try calling Nationstar and getting to speak to a human (albeit a moron but still a human), it's near impossible.

The last big issue now which is why I hate this company. I recently refinanced my home (thank God as it means I'm about to never deal with these idiots again) - as I was going through the process Nationstar called for a payment, I authorized them to take the payment by the end of the month since I had no closing date for my refinance. Well the last week of the month comes, I get a closing date for two weeks from then, I try calling Nationstar to inform them of a payoff coming and to not authorize the payment any longer.

The long wait times and ridiculously techniques you must use to get to a human sucked so bad I didn't talk to anybody, I figured I'd call Monday (the last day of the month). I wake up Monday to find my account negative hundreds of dollars because they took the payment, call Nationstar (to be honest the woman I spoke to was much better this time and so much more helpful). Due to insufficient funds, the payment got kicked back which was good, I informed Nationstar Monday I needed them to not take any more payments due to the payoff coming and lack of funds (I was told ok they would note that and make sure it doesnt happen).

I get a call two days later from Nationstar looking for a payment over the phone, tell that person the same story and to not take the payment (again they said it was noted). I wake up Friday and the payment is taken again and I am negative again, I call again speak to a man that says the same thing will happen as before and it'll get kicked back. Guess what - it didn't get kicked back. Called on Saturday, spoke to a representative that connected my bank in on the conversation too - my bank even said this is Nationstar's fault so they should refund the payment they took and pay the $35 insufficient funds fee.

The Nationstar rep said they'd have to look into it. It ended with me being told to send in documents to show it had gone through (even though they called my bank and got confirmation that it had). Then I was told after I send in the documents it would take 15 days for them to review it and decided if they do or don't want to refund any of the payment or insufficient funds fees. I am now beyond broke for a week during which I have bills to pay, need to buy food, etc.

Just a side note - this review is the SHORT version of the ridiculous issues I've encountered with Nationstar, the best part is that this is the beginning of November as I write this... My mortgage was only transferred to them in the end of September. All of this happened in just over 1 month!! Lesson - DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL SCREW YOU IN A SECOND - REFINANCE AS SOON AS YOU ARE TRANSFERRED.

I refinanced and within months the loan was sold to Nationstar. The following month after receiving the welcome letter I received another letter saying that there was extra money found in my account (I thought it was something related to the refi and escrow monies). The letter said I only had to pay about a 1/3 of what I usually pay for that month. I contacted their customer service, twice to make sure this was correct. Both times I was told it was, so I went ahead and only paid the small portion. Then I paid off some other bills with the rest of my little bit of extra money that month. Well the next month I get a notice telling me I am in arrears on my mortgage payment!

After speaking to multiple people in customer service who were unable to tell me what happened, I finally spoke to a supervisor who admitted that they made a mistake and the extra money was really from another account, not mine! Request for an appropriate resolution to this problem was met with silence, no return calls and finally the original supervisor was found to call me back and tell me"there's nothing we can do." Horrible customer service and I wish I never had to deal with this company. Going to look into trying to find another company to refi with again just to get away from them!

Nationstar responded with a canned customer service response. This was my reply "No, I don't want to deal with your company anymore. It is my intention to refinance my mortgage just to get away from you. I closed my accounts at Wells Fargo because of their fraudulent business practices. I had started the loan modification with my previous lender when my mortgage was transferred to Nationstar. I made the payments required until May of this year when they stopped accepting them. I told them when I was originally transferred to them that I had started divorce proceedings and didn't know how to proceed because my soon to be ex was no longer willing to sign the paperwork (he's listed on the mortgage company for homestead purposes only). Since May, the mortgage company hasn't taken my payments and their only suggestions were to pay the full amount of the mortgage payment, get him to sign the papers or provide the judgement of divorce showing that I was awarded the house.

I didn't have the full monthly payment (the reason for the modification in the first place) and I had zero control over getting spouse to sign or how long the divorce would take. Now I'm waiting for the final ruling and fully expect to be awarded the house per our preliminary agreement. Unfortunately, I still may end up in foreclosure because I haven't been able to set aside payments and there's no way I will be able to come up with the amount that I will owe once this is settled. There should be some sort of plan in place for people who find themselves in this position.

As I sit here, I can't help but wonder what I did in a past life to get stuck with this crappy company! I refinanced earlier this year. My new mortgage was immediately sold to Chase, with whom I was extremely happy. I received a letter from Chase, in early September, that my mortgage was being sold to Nationstar in early Oct. As my Chase letter stated, I was on the lookout for a mailing from Nationstar with my new account information. Weeks pass and nothing. On Oct. 10, I google Nationstar and call the number I find. I'm told by the rep that my account was not yet setup in their system and I should call back on the 14th.

Needless to say, I forget to call back. It's now the 18th and I've not received anything from Nationstar. I receive a call and the rep indicates she's with Nationstar and reads the standard "debt collector warning" and proceeds to state that my mortgage payment was past due and how will I be making the payment today? What!!? I haven't even received an account number to make a payment toward. I express this concern, so she then indicates that since I'm a new customer I have a 60 day grace period to make the payment. I then request something be e-mailed to me with my new account number so that I can verify that I'm speaking to who she says she is.

All the while, she's urging me to submit the payment or give her the exact date it will be received, even though I have this "60 day grace period". I abruptly end the call to wait on the e-mail so that I could set up an online account. I receive the e-mail, which incredibly only included a copy of the letter I originally received in June 2016, after my refinance, telling me that Chase was acquiring my mortgage! Still, no Nationstar account number anywhere! In the meantime, I receive ANOTHER call from Nationstar requesting that I complete a survey, which I did to voice my frustrations! I was not able to receive my account number until I called and requested it from the automated system. I proceeded to set up my account and payment. By the way, I didn't receive the Nationstar account information packet in the mail until the 25th!

Fast forward to today, the 28th, my payment has been made. I receive a call at my office from Nationstar. The rep proceeds to spew the debt collector message and states that they received my payment, blah blah blah and that they want to "verify" my information and begins to request that I recite my address, HOLD UP!? What?! I immediately became furious and told her to not call my workplace anymore! My mortgage is in good standing. I'm not late, never been late and my account is brand new to them. Why am I receiving these types of calls!?

Over the last 6 years, not once has Chase, or my previous mortgage company, called me as much as this company has this month and I'm a BRAND NEW CLIENT! If these initial interactions are any indication of how the rest of my experiences will be is with this company, I just may refinance to get away from them!!! They act, and sound, like a shady debt collecting company that should only be sold debts in default/collections; who doesn't even use a U.S. based call center?
