I have owned my home for 13 or so years. Nationstar raised my mortgage due to an escrow increase a few years back and they just sold to Mr. Cooper and the very first month I received my bill Mr. Cooper raised it again by $105 a month! The only thing changed was my insurance which went up by $40 a year (doesn’t really justify the $105 increase). By my calculations they have more than enough in escrow from the previous year from what I have paid into and if I continue to pay for their "projected balance needed" for next year, I would be paying nearly $3000 over than if I pay my taxes and insurance myself. Can anyone help??? We work very hard to keep our home for our children and their stability. I just want to either get out of escrow with them or have my payment go back to where it was.

The first gentleman from Mr. Cooper who I dealt with was really good. He was the one who did the numbers for us. Then, he passed it on to Dan. However, there were several moments where Dan became very rude to me over the phone because of questions and concerns I had with how long it was taking. He didn't like me asking questions. He thought that they had done the job quickly enough and I should be happy with that.

We were still dealing with an issue with the car payment that was supposed to be paid off. It took three weeks to be processed. And we've had to cancel the check. Then, they resent it and I had to get it paid out again. And because it was taking so long, I made a car payment. And now, because of the interest in the last three weeks, I've lost $200 in that car payment. I should have gotten it back because it took so long. So now I'm getting $500 back rather than $700. It's partially their fault and partially the bank's fault. I've done a refinance before and I never had those kinds of problems. I don't understand why it didn't go as smoothly as my last one.

The other problem we had was we were quoted a certain amount. We had been told it would cost us about $100 to $150 out of pocket and I had agreed to that, but we ended up paying just over $300 instead. I asked about the sudden jump and was told it was because it took so long. The interest was increased. I told them it was their fault because we were ready and were waiting for someone to come over to sign with us. We never delayed anything. We've also sent everything they've asked for on the same day and we did everything we were supposed to do. It was a frustrating experience.

I got divorced and purchased a home outright rather than with my ex-wife. Since Mr. Cooper was already my mortgage provider, I went with them to refinance my old mortgage. The people from this company were prompt, professional and courteous. I also had a very pleasant time with their rep. I felt very informed about my refinancing options as well. It took a month and a half to finalize all the paperwork and that for me was just enough time. I’d recommend Mr. Cooper.

Mr. Cooper sent me something in the certified mail and they told me that they can do the loan. I gave them a call and everything went through as planned. The guidance was fine and everything they said was straight to the point. We had one question on the escrow amount and the rep explained that very well to us. I like that I saved money off my time and I saved five years off my loan.

I received a letter this morning and when I opened it up, I was very surprised that Nationstar is Mr. Cooper now. The letter said my insurance was expired and all that was set in escrow so I know it had to change a few things around but I know my policy is not expired. I got a letter saying I got insurance so that’s all being done with the closing when they put money aside for insurance and taxes. Overall, we did everything over the internet and everything that the people at Mr. Copper said was correct.

They're very thorough with the paperwork and I’ve been receiving a lower interest rate and lower monthly payment. The process was very easy and they're very trustworthy. And since I already have my mortgage with Mr. Cooper, I just decided to go for it with them. Their reps were very professional people. I was in contact with Bryan and Christine, and both of them were pretty spot on whenever I had a question. We had a lot of communication via email. I am unable to work for the foreseeable future due to Hurricane Harvey. Mr. Cooper is advertising that they can accommodate hurricane victims so I called them. I agreed to a three-month forbearance only after the first representative I spoke with assured me that subsequent mortgage payments would not exceed my regular amount paid, and could be tacked onto the end of my mortgage schedule. However, two days later a representative informed me they will determine the payment schedule after the forbearance is expired in January, and that the payments could be substantially increased for the first few months following the forbearance. I pressed her for specifics but she repeatedly told me Mr. Cooper would only decide the amount of monthly payments later.

Now my family is left in limbo. Mr. Cooper promised a forbearance that would not increase my monthly payments, but after it was put in place, they suddenly changed their tune.

My husband is in the oilfield industry and had a layoff for the month of September. He just went back to work yesterday but will not get a check until October 6th. Also I just started my new career yesterday and I also will not get a check I believe until October 6th. When I called in to talk about my payment options he said he could set up a promise to pay and I said okay. It could for sure be paid on the 6th for the month of September and for the October payment would come directly two weeks after that October 20th.

Well that's all fine and I appreciate that. But what I do not appreciate is my family being needing a little help. Being that we are new homeowners and the representative told me that even though it was going to be 6 days late past the 30 days it was going to be dinged our credit. Can somebody please tell me how that helps us. That just knocks our credit score down anywhere from 60-100 points. Not happy at all this morning after finding that out. I worked for 4 years to fix my husband's credit so we can finally purchase a home.

I've had loans with Mr. Cooper for some time. The first time around, the mortgage went up. Mr. Cooper was able to drop some portion. I just the wrapped up refinancing, so it's back to where it was three years ago. It's a plus for me. They're very current and they keep me up to date. I specify as to what is the best contact time. They will get through me through email or phone call. They are a very systematic organization that's why I was able to go back there three times within three years. They have pleasant people to deal with. They don’t give me the runaround. They made the process easy for me. I've dealt with people where I'd have to drive for half an hour to go sign the docs. But with Mr. Cooper, they make arrangements. A person comes to my house and carries the docs over. It's a fantastic experience with Mr. Cooper. If the increase rate drops any further, I'll still deal with them.

The hardest part was, at one point, I had to remove my ex’s name from the house. I went through a divorce a couple of years ago. We had properties, and the court ordered names from each one’s properties to be removed. The rep, Jay, was an outstanding individual. He was able to assist me with that and making a conference call to the other lender of the other house. Then not only did he do that, he also helped my ex remove my name on the other. Where else can I ask somebody be that dedicated into helping people out? I'll always cherish that. Based on what I was going through that period of time, Jay was able to give me some sort of comfort. I really am grateful for that.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar, which became Mr. Cooper in June 2017. In Sept I received an invoice for my hazard insurance, which has been paid from escrow for the past 18 years. Nationstar/Mr. Cooper is the first of 4 lenders not to pay the insurance from escrow. Calling their 1800 # is to spin in circles. When I finally got through to a person, she transferred me to another person who immediately sent me back into the phone tree with no warning. When I finally got out of the phone tree and got a person again, it was the same Carlos in Atlanta who had immediately sent me into the phone tree.

Carlos confirmed Mr. Cooper received all the documents necessary to pay my insurance from my previous lender but now they need me to send them more information. I never received a request for more information from Mr. Cooper in order to pay the insurance. They certainly didn't have a problem taking the money for it. If something happens to my home while Mr. Cooper plays games with the insurance, the insurance company is well within its rights to deny a claim. From the unprofessional brand name to the phone system inspired by Dante, to the unprofessional phone support, to the unprofessional written communications, this company has provided me with ample incentive to move my mortgage as quickly as possible.

I contacted Mr. Cooper (who just recently went through a rebranding from Nationstar Mortgage stating they were doing this to show they were different and handle things better) after going through hurricane Irma in FL. I saw this regarding help: If you live in Florida and have a mortgage, this pertains to you! FINANCIAL HURRICANE TIP: As we now live in a Federally declared disaster area (State of Florida), if you have a Mortgage, your Mortgage Holder is required by Federal Law to give you a 3 month Forbearance on your Mortgage Payments at no cost and no credit implications, if requested. The 3 months are added to the back end of the loan, extending the term by 3 months. The Lender is required by Federal Law to give you this Forbearance if requested. Call your Lender now, no cost, no credit implications!!!

Great way to reduce the Financial strain heaped upon us by Irma! Unfortunately, I was told by the customer service rep that it was up to the "investors" and that the only thing the investors would do is allow for a deferment for 3 months (not a Forbearance) and that after the 3 months, I would have to pay everything back. Really? Is this how Mr. Cooper is going to do things differently? Not impressed "Mr. Cooper". Thanks for nothing! Not a good way to treat your customers who are already going through hard times. My title company looked at it and said it was all okay but they didn't put something in. They took care of that and everything was fine. This was when the interest rate was a lot less than what it is now.

Mr. Cooper refused to refinance because they said something was on the title after the title company straightened it out. But then the next day, the exact same thing happened. It took four different times of wasting a lot of my time and signing stuff, and then at the last minute the title wouldn’t go through. So this time when I called, I told them to get the title first and if they can make sure that it's clear, then I'll work with them. It was very aggravating. But this last time, some guy from way up called me up and told me he'll put me right through. It finally went well but with the first time, no one wanted anybody to go see that. My loan manager was some complete stranger that is high. I've tried this three different times and I either wasn’t able to do something or stop calling them ‘cause I was ready to pay off the loan. I was so pissed off. They closed the loan in two weeks this time but that’s after three years of crap.

If my mortgage servicing had not been sold to them I would have had my refund within 20 days from my former mortgage company. Whenever I have friends buying a home I will be sure to tell them to stay away from Mr. Cooper!

I needed to do a remodeling in the house and fix some things. I already had a mortgage with Mr. Cooper and I was happy with them, so I wanted to stay with them in refinancing my old mortgage. I kept postponing my refinancing for the remodeling and I didn’t think that I could actually do it, but they showed me the process and assured me that it was feasible and I could do it. They’ve been wonderful with me and I've never had issues with them whenever I needed to make payments. Their website was always running smoothly and if I needed to find my payoff, I could see it right away.

The reps were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, and I've had a wonderful, easy and fast experience with them during my refinancing. They kept me up to date the entire time with every step. The guidance I received from them when discussing my refinancing options was perfect and they gave me the options on what I could do based on the amount that I needed and what was better for me. The entire process went so fast that I was able to start remodeling right away, and that was a great benefit. In addition, Mr. Cooper lowered the amount that I pay monthly to $200 and that was a good deal as well. Everything was very easy to do with Mr. Cooper and I would definitely recommend them.

Nationstar is our mortgage provider and it's the same company that we've always had. We were going to build a new porch in our house and we wanted to take money out, so we inquired about refinancing our old mortgage. Our interactions with the reps during the refi were good. The process took about a month or so. At first, a lot of it was done on the phone and the computer. The reps were all kind and helpful, and the guidance we received from them when discussing our financing options was straightforward for the most part.

We had to get the house appraised then wait to hear back from the mortgage company. We were approved fast. When all was said and done, they sent somebody out. We signed the papers and, in a couple of weeks, we had our money. We actually extended the life of our loan. We had ten years before and now we have 15 years. Also, our monthly payment might have dropped a little. Everything was good, except that the closing cost seemed a little high, but I didn't have anything to compare it to.

Also, they kept sending me papers in the emails. I must have gotten 50 papers to sign and I didn't even know what I was signing electronically. Then when the person came to close, I had to send a check for $259. I was initially informed it was enough, then I was told different prices and finally, I was told $192 was what I had to pay. I asked them what happened to the extra money but they never got back with me on that so I have no idea.

I contacted customer service and they said once everything goes to close, I would get my money back. But it closed a couple of months ago and I only received a check for $15. They also said that I would get my interest back and that my next payment would be in August, but I got nothing. I was pissed about that and I was not satisfied with Mr. Cooper at all. DO not apply for this home loan if you are a Reservist, Active Duty, or expect to go on deployments where your pay will be impacted. My husband did 6 back to back deployments in the Reserves so he could retire this Oct with a total of 21 years active duty service. He returned at the end of July from his last deployment. We did not get paid for 3 months upon his returning, going on Sanctuary where he was active duty till his retirement this Oct. We were forced to get a loan from the base Family services while we were waiting. When the time came for us to be repaid, his command had screwed up his entire unit's pay for their nearly 2 year long deployment. They took almost $4000 from what we were owed because of his Command's mistake, not his or anyone in his Army unit. We told Nationstar of our issue and in April 2017 we asked what our best option were.

Before we were EVER late they suggested we make a payment plan for 3 months, and then we will be good. Well, I was worried about my credit being affected. I was assured we should be fine, we were doing the responsible thing by asking. Now our credit report shows us as being 90 DAYS LATE on OUR MORTGAGE WHEN THIS MORTGAGE COMPANY GOT THEIR MONTHLY PAYMENTS AS AGREED! They KNEW he was active duty and deployed! Everytime you speak to an agent you get a different response so no one is ever accountable and no one can ever be believed! This is the absolute worst company! On top of all that they convinced us to allow them to have us apply to refinance! We were denied because we were late for their own company's payment which we told them we were doing a payment plan! THIS COMPANY is deceptive and awful for military families! Run away and stay with your credit unions!

I bought a condo three years ago and our mortgage company was Winstar at that time. And then it changed to Nationstar and now, it's Mr. Cooper. When we purchased the condo, my husband and I were just dating, so we refinanced to put my name on the mortgage, and we got married subsequently.

Everyone was great during the refinance. They were efficient and it went smoothly. I've purchased a home couple times in my life and this was the best experience I ever had. So I was surprised when I had an issue. Because of the refinancing, things got a little confusing and my escrow was supposed to be paying the condo insurance and my property taxes. They were all zero-rate at the time of the whole refinancing and the switch of the name of the company. But they didn't pay my condo insurance. They paid part of it earlier in the year, but then it had to go up. I called Mr. Cooper when I got a bill for a small amount of $25. I asked them if they got the bill because I didn't want to double pay it. And they said, "Oh yes, we got the bill and we'll take care of it."

Then a couple of weeks later, I got a call from State Farm saying that they didn't got it. And I just got a call yesterday from State Farm that it still wasn't paid. I looked on my account online and it says that Mr. Cooper did pay it, so maybe it's just in the middle of processing and they are supposed to be getting it. So I'm assuming they paid it and in any day now it's gonna reflect that on my State Farm bill. But the bigger problem was while I was on the phone with all that, my property taxes also get paid out of my escrow and they were due August 1st for my second installment. So I needed to check on that. And they switched me a million times, and all of a sudden it's started to get aggravating. No one knew what was going on. The amount that they show that was even due was different than the bill I had in front of me.

And so finally, I get a hold of somebody and told me that they didn't pay the second installment. I don't have the amount that's due in my escrow account, because when they refinanced, they assumed that it was already paid, and they didn't have me open it up with the correct amount and they were already three weeks late. It's almost a month late at this point. I told them this was really worrying me. And they said, "Well, why don't you just make a copy of the form or fax it over to us?" But I don't have a fax machine. I stay at home, and I'm not in an office. Then they told me to just mail to them. But I also asked them if they get copies of the bill because it said on the property tax bill that they got a copy of it. They said, "Yeah, we do but we don't really have a task to that now." After that, I asked for the supervisor.

When the supervisor got on the phone, she said, "Well, they told you what to do. You were told to send the copy." And I said, "Well, I'm just a little concerned here. So, you're not gonna do anything until I send a copy? So, what's gonna happen to the late fee? Am I gonna have to pay it?" She said they'll take care of the late fee if there was one. I mailed the copy of the tax bill over a week ago. So I haven't heard anything. In the meantime, I don't know what's going on and no one told me they'd get back to me and do a follow up to make sure it's taken care of. I'm very dissatisfied. I also got a snotty email from them saying that they paid for my condo insurance but nothing about my taxes. I don't recommend them.

My loan from CitiMortgage was taken over by Mr. Cooper as of August 2017. Since I'm selling the property on the account I was asked by my lawyers to request a payoff letter. First call I get the run around that it takes 24-48 hrs to receive the letter. I ask for it to be expedited as my closing date is two days away. I am assured it will arrive in time. Nothing arrives. I call again and speak to someone else. I'm told the letter would be expedited and nothing again. Third call I ask to speak to a manager. Says he can't expedite until it shows up in the system. Called two days ago with the request so not sure why it wasn't initially sent. At this point we're hours away from closing. Tell the manager Justin ** I will call back at 5 pm to see if there are updates. Call back and Justin ** left for the day.

I speak to another manager to request they expedite the order again and I'm told the order was denied and that they are putting another order in but will need to call tomorrow morning with the fax number that I've provided SEVERAL times. At this point I'm on the verge of losing the buyer all because customer service can't get their act together. Letter has to be on-hand by 8 am EST 9/1! To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. This is the problem with automating systems... people forget how to provide quality customer service in an efficient time and manner. I'm sure when Mr. Cooper wants his mortgage money I can't tell them they have to wait 24-48hrs and then forget to pay without consequences. You have caused me to lose money and time and so here are your consequences!

If we are in a situation, that we are asking for a waiver, it's because we are short on funds. How can we CATCH up the following month? That is just putting a burden and digging yourself into a hole. I realized that my mortgage payments are awfully high for the amount that I had paid for my house so I refinanced. I worked with a woman named Erin and I felt good about her. She was great all along the way. She was very clear in answering the questions I had. She was personable and had a good sense of humor. She was also thoughtful about my time and followed up on everything that she said she would. If she told me something was going to happen it happened quickly and easily and I very much appreciate that.

I'm a professor at Florida State and we're on a nine months contract so we have to live on savings from May until September. And so taking a big hit for the refinance closing cost wasn’t going to be great. I was very worried and didn’t want to have to lay out a lot of money for it. But Erin was able to speak with her supervisors and because I'm a reasonable risk and my credit score was good she was able to come back and make sure that it was manageable for me to do it without putting myself in a difficult position financially during that period.

I pay less in mortgage which is nice but there's one small thing Nationstar should be aware of. I was teaching at a writer’s conference in a while with the Olympic Peninsula and it was great because they found someone to send it out to me. But the person who was doing my closing did seem a little caught off guard by the paperwork. She had a set of instructions but then when she went through all of the paperwork for me to sign the directions were slightly unclear in terms of the need for a witness. I tracked someone down to be a witness and then it turned out as we went through the paperwork a witness wasn’t necessary.

And the other thing that happened was that the notary public spelled my last name differently on some paperwork and that sort of threw it for a loop. So there should be a better communication with notaries. It's a little nerve-wrecking making sure that the paperwork went through properly. I was told they would get a hold of me if anything was irregular or if anything needed to be redone. I think there's greater communication if they're going to have notaries who are unfamiliar with Nationstar’s processes so things might be trouble-shot before the notary arrives. But I had a very positive experience with the professionals working for Nationstar generally.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar and they had a lower interest rate for refinancing. When I called them to ask a question, I started talking about refinancing so the rep transferred me over to Benjamin. We were on the phone for about three hours and he was very patient and perfect. I knew the rate was 3 something and I told him I was hoping for a lower rate. If I had gone with a 15 year loan, I could have gotten 3.6 or 3.8, but I decided to go with 30 and it knocked the note down about $200 a month. Going with 30 was partly his suggestion because I'm planning on selling the place a couple of years down the road. So it was great with Benjamin.

But the local title lady that Nationstar chose to send out to do the closing made a lot of errors. Nationstar told me that the paperwork was ready for closing on Monday and I initially had a schedule with the title lady on Monday night at 7:00. I had to have two witnesses and one of them wasn’t going to be able to come at that time because she had to go to a funeral, so I had the closing schedule changed to 10:00 in the morning to accommodate her. I talked to the title lady on Sunday about it and she agreed.

But come Monday, she texted me that the paperwork from Nationstar was not ready and that we had to keep the appointment at 7:00. That meant I wouldn’t have a witness so she said she'll get somebody else to sign the papers. My other witness still would have been able to come, but since the title lady told me she had witnesses, I told the other witness she didn't need to come since we changed the time and I didn’t want make her to feel obligated to come at a different time than we had originally agreed to.

The title lady then came to my house which made it more convenient because I wouldn’t have to go somewhere. She came at 7:00 on Monday night and we did all the paperwork but there were no witnesses and I wasn’t comfortable with that. I asked her the next day who she chose as witnesses and she said it was her sister and brother-in-law. I would rather have the two people I feel I can trust to be my witnesses and sign the papers, not some of her family members.

When I told Benjamin about it, he was really apologetic and said it shouldn’t have happened like that. I later found out that the paperwork was not ready because the title person never told Nationstar that we changed the schedule. She said she assumed the paperwork would be ready. If she had done her job and made sure by contacting Nationstar and informing them there was a change in the time, Nationstar would have made sure the paperwork was ready by then. All in all, I should have refinanced sooner because the rate has been lower than what I had for years. It's almost half of the 6% I was paying and I ended up at 4.5, so I'm happy. I would recommend Nationstar to friends.

She then explained about how much better if we refinance with a lower interest rate so we would be paying a lot more into principal. If I had questions, I left a message and she usually called back within the same day. So far, the payments are pretty close because of the lower interest rate but we're paying so much more into principal now. Everything went really smooth and that's rare nowadays.

First, our loan was with Bank of America, then it got transferred to somebody else, and it ended up at Nationstar. When we first got our house, we were in the Making a Home Affordable program. The rate was due to adjusting for the last time in July and Nationstar can do a better rate than what it was going to be and we did a refinance recently to get a lower APR. The guidance that we received from them really made the refi process a lot easier because they were our current loan provider at the time. The two guys we worked with were really helpful and great. They were available when I had to call them and asked questions. Overall, it was a nice and easy experience and I didn't feel like I was getting tricked at all.

My experience with Nationstar has been good for the last 13 years even though it wasn’t them in the beginning. My original mortgage company sold my house to them. I talked to Nationstar about a month ago to refi my house to lower the house payments because I’ve gone through a divorce and I’m on Social Security disability with a limited income. They helped me out quite a bit. It wasn’t an astronomical amount but the extra money will definitely put food on the table for me. There was a lot of paperwork and there was a little frustration in that but it goes with anything. Since refinancing with Nationstar, I got a lower house payment that makes it a little easier to pay them every month.

My time with Mr. Cooper was the easiest refinance that I did in my life. It was very comfortable and we did it in less than 10 days. It's very impressive and very quick. I had worked with two persons there and they gave me all the tools and information. They dropped their interest rate and they shortened the time. The loan was for 21 years and we reduced to 15 years. Plus, the payment is going to be less than what we’re paying before.

Also, the technology helped a lot. We sign online and then they send a notary person here in the office, just to sign the document. I didn’t move to anywhere. I did everything from my office and online. I recommend Mr. Cooper to anyone who wants to do a finance or refinance. They definitely have good people. Their people know what they’re doing and they guide you. Also, I was impressed that the rep who helped me was consistent and she was on top of things while we're doing the refinance.

I live in Nevada however, Nationstar mortgage in Texas holds my mortgage. Last September (2016) I was sent an offer by Nationstar. Because I am in a bankruptcy the package was sent to my attorney who sent it to me. The offer had a cover letter stating it was from the investors from Nationstar. I was excited to get this and I immediately called Nationstar who stated they did not have any information other than to just follow the 3 month trial period and wait for the final document to accept the offer. Here is where everything went downhill.

Apparently the document went to the attorney who never sent them to us and when I called Nationstar in January (trial period was thru December) I was told that it was too late, however, an agent Justin ** said he would send me the documents & to fill them out & send back asap & he would try to put them through & see if we could still get the modification. I sent them back but never received a call on what was going on. I called Nationstar again & asked about the modification & they stated the account was closed as they never got the documents & assumed we didn't want the offer. That was ridiculous as we are in a financial hardship due to all the medical bills I have from having Breast cancer. I asked why no one ever called to follow up & ask where the document was, then I would have known they didn't receive them.

But by this time it was now March & the only thing they offered me was to fill out the documents again & fax them over & someone would put through an escalation on the request. After several weeks of phone calls & issues with Nationstar emailing me the needed information I finally sent (faxed) all the necessary documents. They (Nationstar) sent the so-called escalation to the modification section on MAY 24, 2017. I called several days later & asked for an update. I was told that the escrow was complete & it has now been sent to the underwriters for approval on JUNE 6, 2017. Needless to say it is now AUGUST 21, 2017 and I am still being told it's with the underwriters & they are waiting for approval from the investors. I have been calling every 3-4 days to get an update since the June 6 date & I feel I am just getting a run around & no one is making an effort to tell me the truth.

I have checked several places to see how long a modification should take & this is absurd. Everyone including some of the agents at Nationstar said it should only take 30 days, one even told me it should be 20 days. I should also let you know that I believe the offer was made because I did fall behind on the payment but I do not want to lose my home. I have managed to save the money to bring the loan current, but have been advised to hold off until we hear on the modification. At this point we feel that Nationstar is waiting for time to run out on the bankruptcy & then they will start the foreclosure process. I feel they are just waiting to take my home. I am beside myself & I am in tears nearly every day. The stress they have put me through is adding to the side effects I have from chemotherapy. I am so angry right now I just don't know where to turn.

I am going to file a complaint with the Texas attorney general's office (KEN PAXTON). I do not know why they are holding up this modification. I have asked several times who the investors are and every agent tells me they do not know. I find that very hard to believe & I feel there is something else going on. Please look into this asap and get back to us. Our loan number is ** at Nationstar.

My original mortgage was with Mr. Cooper and they kept mailing me stuff. I called to find out if they were going to raise rates. Dealing with the rep was great and the whole process was really easy. I didn’t have to do anything on my end and I didn’t have to get my paperwork. We just talked over the phone and they sent me a few emails and said we're signing papers. They sent somebody to my house and we're done. I went to a 15 year, dropped my percentage rate quite a bit and it came out to be a tad bit more than the payment, so it was good for me. But it would have been better and easier if the same person handled the loan from beginning to end. Every day I have a different person getting a hold of me, so they're taking over at this point, but other than that, it all went fine.

I did not know I was approved for a loan modification until I checked my account online in the middle of June. This three-month trial period was for June, July, and August. I sent a payment in (I do not like to pay online) on time, yet they didn't cash the check until the beginning of July, so it stated I did not pay on time. I emailed my representative, Kalani **, which it was then taken care of and my trial period resumed. Then I was laid off from my job and I did not receive any unemployment for the entire month of July. I emailed Kalani (my only form of correspondence) and asked if I could make my July payment on August 3rd, as that was when I was going to get paid. All she emailed me back was asking for my loan number and then never gave me an answer.

I paid on August 3rd, as I said I would, and a couple days later my account said my July payment was made and I needed to make the 3rd month trial payment for August by the end of the month. I then got an email from Nationstar (not from Kalani) that I had correspondence from them on August 17th. I logged into my account and it states I am denied the loan modification and I am no longer allowed to make payments. I am extremely disappointed in the service as I have been making payments as agreed upon and have been trying to correspond with Kalani **.

I was with another loan company, then Mr. Cooper bought them out. My wife and I got a divorce, and she was taking care of the bills. Then she did like how people try to run up their credit card so they can get the house. Then, finally, I got my stuff straight and my loan was about 6.2%. When I bought them out, they kept calling me about refinancing. When I finally refinanced, the refinancing process was easy and nice. I had a good and nice experience with Mr. Cooper and their people were good about everything. Our loan officer was nice and professional.

I wanted a 10-year loan but they ended up giving me a 15-year loan. It was all about making money. If they could add another 5 years on, they’re going to make more money than what they would on a 10-year loan. But my mind works the same way and I do like some people do and pay more towards my 15-year loan so it seems like I'm paying a 10-year loan. Although my payments are a lot lower and dropped by $200, I'm still paying the same amount that I was paying before to make up the difference and I just put that $200 back towards the payment of my loan.

However, a month ago, I went to the bank and had them take the payment out of my checking account, but I still haven't received the papers that I had asked for even before I made that payment. I told the rep about this and she told me that she would be sending me some papers in the mail that I could sign, but this would take some time. Now I'm making another payment and still papers still haven't shown up in the mail. But what gets me is that if I'm late on my payment, they don’t worry about how late my fees are and they still want me to pay the late payment. She explained to me that I could pay online and there would be no extra charge, and it would come out that same day. Other than that, everything was great.

My wife and I have been customers with Nationstar for the past three years. After several solicitations by Nationstar to refinance, we finally responded to the ads, and began the refinance process. At first, things seemed to moving along smoothly, sorting the paperwork, scheduling closing dates and preparing for the appraisal. The appraisal is where things went off the track. Our appraiser, whom Nationstar uses a third party management company to coordinate with, was a total disappointment. He was unprofessional and his behavior made my wife uncomfortable. The appraisal returned well below market value and subsequently has sidelined this transaction. This appraiser has had similar complaints regarding his appraisal values and hostility.

I'm surprised that Nationstar would even allow someone with a less than stellar reputation and questionable work quality to be affiliated with them. Now, it's nearly impossible to get someone from Nationstar to respond to my emails and phone calls. Disappointed that Nationstar hasn't taken a proactive stance to resolve this. I guess this branch of Nationstar employees hasn't met Mr Cooper yet.

He gave me information so I could make an informed decision and I really appreciated that. He said that if I went with refi, it would lower the interest rates and if I go to the 15-year versus the 30 that I already had, which I had 18 years left on, it would knock three years off right there. He also ran some numbers and said my payment is going to be even lower than what it is right now. And those were the deciding factors for me. The whole process was pretty easy and it took about two or three weeks maximum. They kept on asking me, “What’s that in your checking account? What was that deposit for?” Then I kept giving them the same information four or five times. I just went around in circles until I finally gave up.

However, this last time was outstanding. I was very reluctant about doing it, but they reassured me that this would not be the same. They told me what information I would need and exactly how expedient the process would be. And they were right, it was a quick experience. The representative came to the house for the closing and to sign the papers which was good. The experience was unbelievable and totally different. There was none of that hassle and harassment. One of the benefits of the refinance was I got to skip one month's payment. The other benefit was I was able to go down to a 15-year mortgage with a lower interest rate so it was better. It was customer-oriented and most pleasing experience.

I recently refinanced with Freedom Mortgage through Nationstar. I was told the two companies work together and that even though my loan would be refinanced by Freedom Mortgage my account would remain with Nationstar. That was a lie! My loan went to Freedom Mortgage, but only for 2 months then it was sold back to Nationstar. Needless to say the transaction back to Nationstar hasn't been pleasant. A little more month before my first payment was due with Nationstar (August 1) I checked my account online to make sure all was right with my loan. It wasn't! My loan amount was nearly $1,000 higher than it was suppose to be and my escrow balance was off too. I called back in June to address the issue and was told a research request was filed and I'd hear back in 7-10 day. I didn't hear back so I called again, yet other research request was filed. Another 10 days passed and nothing, not a word (no phone call or email or letter - NOTHING).

So I called again and was told a different department (the AK department) needed to investigate the discrepancy and that a request would be filed with them; still NOTHING! Now we are almost 2 months later and my monthly payments are being deducted on the wrong loan amount. Also, mind you, during a couple of the other 20 some odd phone calls I've made to Nationstar I've had managers call and confirm with Freedom Mortgage what my loan amount is and what my escrow account should be but still no changes have been made! I've even had a Nationstar customer service agent confirm that they received documentation on July 11 from Freedom Mortgage the correct loan amount and escrow balance but they still cannot explain why those numbers aren't reflected on my account!!

This company is thefting me of +$1,000 and must think the longer they drag their feet the less I'll pursue the matter. They are wrong, I'm determined to call every day if I have to and even seek legal resolutions. If someone was behind that kind of money I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate for one second to demand it immediately; I'm sick of hearing 7-10 days and still getting no response after months! It is ridiculous and unacceptable!

When I had to sign the closing paperwork, they didn’t tell me I had to go somewhere. Instead, they came to my home to do it which was nice and I felt like I didn’t have to go on vacation. Aside from that, the interest rate remained the same and they lowered my monthly payments.

I was already financed with Nationstar. I have refinanced with them years old on a home down in Texas. Now that I’m in Florida, they contacted me and asked me if I was interested in a reprice in a much lower rate, and I said that I was. The main thing I wanted to do was get the old mortgage down to a 15-year from a 30-year because I’m getting up in age and I do not want to leave my wife with an unpaid house. I was very impressed with how easy and how quick the mortgage professionals moved the refinancing along. There was redundant information required but that was the nature of the financial place.

I considered their guidance to be excellent. The whole process went very smoothly and they already held a note in the house which helped a lot. A requirement was not needed for an appraisal which made things much quicker and much easier. Refinancing the loan, it was nice that the monthly payment did not increase. Instead, Nationstar even slightly reduced the monthly payment. The house would also be paid off much sooner.

We got a high interest rate at 6.5 with our old mortgage and Nationstar mailed us out a form saying that we’re eligible to refinance. They bought out our loan from another company, and we refinanced through them. My dealing with their mortgage professionals was very good. They were very helpful, informative and fast. They made refinancing real easy. They gave us an option of doing either a 15 or 20-year note or for 30, and we didn’t want to do the 30. We still owed to a 22-year and we lowered it to a 20-year note plus we were able to save $250 a month on our payment so it was good. It was a very fast and easy experience.

Well I would think if they went this far and even stopped the foreclosure on this home they would be willing to change some simple verbiage. At this time we are at the point of getting Lawyers involved and letting them deal with Nationstar. This has not been the only blurt Nationstar has pulled during this. And they even agreed to the offer. So what's the deal Nationstar?

Which is then followed by Nationstar sending me a threatening letter telling me that my account is delinquent, that I need to contact them immediately to resolve the problem.

Today I had some strange, weird, sketchy looking guy standing in my front yard taking pictures of my home. I went out and questioned what he was doing. He stated that my mortgage company has requested pictures. I immediately call Nationstar and was told that they're not sure if they ordered them or not but that it looks like my mortgage is in arrears. I instructed the agent to look at my account at which time she acknowledged that I am in fact 5 months AHEAD on my payments. I am sick and tired of being harassed by Nationstar. I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who has her mortgage with Nationstar. Since the end of last year my mom has been receiving notices of non payment of her mortgage. My mother is 81 and since Thanksgiving of 2016 has suffered no less than 9 cardiac arrests and is now is chronic heart failure. She has given written authorization to Nationstar that I am now handling her financials. She has kept every cashier's check receipt and post office receipt of her payments to Nationstar. She is not delinquent on any payment. So with this information I proceeded to speak to someone in customer service about this, no such luck. I was told to fax my information to the research dept. and they would be in touch. That was in March, no one contacted us and the demand letters kept coming. So in June I resent all the information again with a copy of the transmission report of the previous fax as proof. Nothing...

However my mother did receive a call from Nationstar telling her she was going to be kicked out of her house soon for non payment, after that call she received a call from her home insurance co, USAA, to say that they had been notified by her mortgage co that she no longer lives in her house. My mother called me at work extremely distressed. I immediately left work, went to her house and proceeded to call an ambulance where she spent another week in ICU with stress related heart issues. I once again contacted Nationstar, got nowhere except this time was told I should email the research department my information. When I asked for them to check on which payments were missing it was all very vague except to say that the checks were returned with “insufficient funds”, really they have all been cashier's checks issued by her bank they can't be bounced!!!

Today I learned from different sites online of the wide array of problems many people are having with this company and the class action lawsuit that is trying to be put together. I have now contacted my state commissioner and the county DA to see what help we can get and what course of action we can take. I myself do work in the legal profession but in a different aspect. I cannot even begin to tell you how angry I am at the bullying tactics and callous treatment my mother has and is receiving. But it stops here and now for I will go to any length to make sure my mother is protected and her financial situation is not in danger. I am curious now to see if this review gets any response from Nationstar and what their response is and what action they plan to take to make sure that this is resolved quickly and favorably. I will keep this updated.

When I first moved here, I started my mortgage with Citibank then they sold it to Nationstar. I was trying to save money by paying my old mortgage off sooner so I went into refinancing with them. Their reps were very professional but a lot of things were explained so fast because the representative was going on vacation so I felt rushed. He was stressing more for me to sign a 30-year refinancing program instead of 15 years so that’s what I initially got. But I called them back the next day to change it to a 15-year because I've been here for 10 years and it doesn’t make sense to start over and do a 30-year refinance. I still got the 15 years and I asked the rep if there was a charge for changing my mind. But he didn't understand what I was saying and I never got an answer so I tried to look at the paperwork to see if it was there.

I tried refinancing before, Nationstar ran my credit five years ago and it wasn't going to save me a bunch of money. My home is not worth over $100,000 and I had never missed a payment or been late so I didn't want to refinance at the time. But since the insurance made our mortgage go up, I was willing to refinance to get my payment back in the seven's as I had it before and it helped. But I was looking at the savings in the long run, either save in the beginning or in the end, and I could understand it after doing the math.

Now I'm being pressured about the mortgage insurance. Nationstar recommended an insurance company and I’m getting about five letters every day from that company since their representatives came over here last week and talked to me about it. They evaluated me but they haven't called me since. They sent people to my house to talk to me about signing up and I found out a lot of things I may not qualify for a good rate because of health reason. But Nationstar didn't even call me back to follow up and say that I didn't qualify for the company. I also called Nationstar’s customer service to check on my escrow to see if I have a negative or a shortage at that time of the year. After verifying all my information, they asked me what I was calling in for and how they may help me. Then they asked me the same thing over and over and I kept repeating myself because they don't listen. I wouldn't recommend Nationstar to anyone.

Also, their guidance was pretty much on target and they're dependable. It's my first mortgage which I've had for about nine years and it's the first time I refinanced. Every time I had a question, I asked it via email or a phone call but usually, email worked better. The biggest thing was cutting off six years of our mortgage. We had 21 years left and now we refinanced to a 15-year fixed which is very nice. I'm very happy with them and very satisfied.

About a month after we refinanced, our loan was sold to Nationstar. The customer service and data inaccuracy from this company has been VERY disappointing. Examples: Letters are sent for services we don't have (we don't have flood insurance but got a letter today stating Nationstar had cancelled the "policy."). We don't have an escrow account, but we were told Nationstar would no longer escrow for flood insurance. They listed a phone number for questions. When I called I spent nearly 10 minutes winding through the voice mail system until I was actually connected to a live person. She wasn't the right one to talk with and when she transferred me I was disconnected.

When they asked us to upload our current homeowner's policy, the online upload feature didn't work. There was no email verification sent that the upload had been successful, so there was no way to actually know it had failed until I called them. In the meantime we got yet another letter from them stating the policy had lapsed. All letters are received with the footer at the bottom of the page stating NationStar is a debt collector and this letter is attempt to collect a debt, when in fact we have a near perfect credit score and have NEVER been late with a payment. Please check with your mortgage broker before buying a new home and/or refinancing to try and ensure that your mortgage is not sold to Nationstar (soon to be rebranded as Mr. Cooper). I reached out to Nationstar via message and phone to ask if they had any information on why this was. I thought it had to be some kind of mistake, or excessive credit inquiries by them, or something else. When I tried calling I could never get connected with anyone even after an hour!

Nationstar finally got back to me two whole months later with a reply based on 'research'. This reply was only two sentences, and said that they reported my Mortgage to the credit agencies the month after it was sold, so therefore everything is fine. My credit still dropped 70 points and has only gone up a TINY amount, and they don't care. That reply DID NOT answer my question. It is also a blatant slap in the face to put so little actual 'research' into a 60 day time period! It is nearly impossible to contact a representative with long hold times. When I do speak with one and discuss situation she tells me it resolved but for some reason I didn't believe her. Today we get a bill from them because they have added more home insurance despite the fact we already have it. I call, spend an long time on hold and never get through because I need to get to work. I wish Citi was still our mortgage holder. Maybe they should change name to MR Pooper instead because since they have been involved it smells bad.

Nationstar is changing their name to Mr. Cooper, because of all the lawsuits and judgments against them. I have owned a home for over twenty years and this is by far my worst lending experience ever. Two of my credit scores were over 800 until my loan was sold to them. They found every way imaginable to take money from me and try to get me to fall behind, due to their ruthless tactics. Luckily, I have a healthy income. I had a mortgage of $42,000 at 3.5%, and my payment was nearly $1,000/month. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

We did not choose to have Nationstar as a provider. They purchased our loan in September. Our property taxes and school taxes were not paid by Nationstar. The billing came out in October. They blamed it on the previous provider. They have continuous told us that our account would not be reviewed until October. Are you kidding me??? We are having an issue now. We had to call over and over again and had the worst service calls you could imagine. They didn't keep records of the phone calls. We were given a supervisor's name to call if it wasn't resolved in a month. She didn't work there the next month and we were back to square one.

They cut it so close to the deadline for payment. There is no reason for us to have to tell them how to do their job. I had to call today because my login attempt failed. The woman I spoke with told me that I didn't live at that address. I had to talk to a supervisor. Why when I gave them all of the information did she not reset my password. Before we bought our new house I was accidentally another customer of Nationstar. They lost my mortgage payment that was mailed at the beginning of the month and did not receive it until the 21st. I had to pay $35 to make a stop payment on my check, pay for the convenience of pay over the phone and fight to get the late fee waived. DO NOT CHOOSE NATIONSTAR. Worst customer service representatives in the industry and not pleasant.

My loan was bought from Nationstar Mortgage years ago and I had a mailing from them asking if I wanted to refinance. Because of convenience, I decided to refinance with them my old mortgage for a lower interest rate and it was a painless procedure. The communication with Nationstar mortgage professionals was mostly through email and a few phone calls. But they were quick to respond and answer any of my questions. It was a streamlined and efficient process with Nationstar and the customer service was great. My payment did not change but I got a lower interest payment. Overall, I was very happy.

I was put on permanent disability because of PTSD and wasn't able to keep up payments on my mortgage. I thought I was going to have to just let them foreclose on my home. I contacted Nationstar to let them know I could no longer make payments, they told me about deed in lieu and how that would make it so I wouldn't have to go through foreclosure and could even make a little bit of money by giving them the deed to my condo.

The first woman I worked with was completely rude, pushy and downright impolite to me. I called to ask for a new representative. They seemed very apologetic at the time and assigned someone new to my case. At first he seemed really great but after a few emails I didn't hear from him again. My situation is time sensitive because I wasn't able to afford my association dues and they were going to take me to court. I wasn't going to be able to attend court because my husband was going to the hospital for surgery. My rep knew this and told me how he'd take care of it and cut them a check.

He told me we were almost done with the process he just needed my association's contact info and a number for a realtor to contact me at. I gave him all of this info and never heard back from him. I sent many more emails, which was the agreed upon communication method since I have a five month old and trying to make calls while taking care of him is next to impossible, but didn't get one reply. We got a call from Nationstar about a week and a half later from a completely different person who left a number. We tried calling back and again never heard back.

They like dangling the carrot in front of your face, which is really horrible since I'm on disability trying to take care of a new baby and the thought that I was going to make some money on the condo would have helped so much. Instead I get rudeness and ignored. Take your business anywhere else but here. They don't care about their customers, especially the ones who are having financial troubles.

I then did a refinancing with them and their reps were very nice and covered everything well. The guidance I received was very good too. My interest rate before refinancing was 4.75, and now it's 4.0. I could always go for lower, but the interest was good and it lowered my payment a couple of bucks. It was a very helpful experience.

We wanted to pay our mortgage down quicker and refinancing with Nationstar Mortgage has helped us make a lower monthly payment while paying it off quicker. We were going to do 10 years but we did 15 instead just in case. The process has been quick and effortless once I got a hold of them to answer my questions. Also, a part of it being quick also has to do with doing it over the internet. The mortgage guy and the loan officer were both fine, but the guy who called us in between that said he would be my contact person for the balance of the work was not reliable at all. Aside from him, things went extremely positively. Their refinancing options were also excellent and they couldn’t have included anything more. This is considering that this is not our first home. We got a very good rate just like I could with any other company and we also brought our APR way down from when we first moved. I would recommend them.

Their guidance was excellent because they informed me and they're the one to send me notices for refinancing and encouraged me to refinance. They were excellent and very professional. We weren't forced to do anything and making a decision wasn’t a rush. And the lower payment allows me to have more money for something else that we needed in our life. My issue is that after several years of me paying my property taxes, Nationstar decided to pay my property tax also so it was paid twice, no notification on the part of Nationstar. They just doubled my payment without telling me. I have been trying to resolve this for over a year now and I have several past dues on my payment record because I continued paying my regular payments.

After several discussions on the phone with myself and my Attorney and my accountant I ended up paying double. To clear up a mess that they made. I have several investment properties that are financed with other lending institutions and in fifty years never missed a mortgage payment until now. Just because I could not get the same person on my loan to resolve this matter. I feel that this is still not resolved and will be seeking legal action to clear my name and my credit. Once this is behind me I will refinance with a local bank so I can resolve any issues face to face.

Nationstar Mortgage refused to address issues with the administration and record keeping of my mortgage while continuing to harass and threaten foreclosure. These were a result of their manipulation of payment records which falsely indicated a default status. In addition, the interest rate that was charged was overstated which resulted in monthly contractual payments to be overstated and paid by $200.00. I overpaid in excess of $35,000.00 over a period of several years. I made every monthly payment in full and on time as was outlined the closing documents. The payments were either misapplied or applied properly to my account with subsequent modification entries being made.

The issues were communicated in accordance with their policies and procedures on multiple occasions, however, nothing was done on Nationstar's behalf to assist me nor to make corrections. Their actions resulting in two different breaches of contract and violations of the FDCPA which was also communicated in writing. As a result of their actions, I was charged and forced to pay an additional $400.00 each month for years. After receiving multiple phone calls everyday and several threats of foreclosure every month, I decided to sell my home under duress.

In addition to being my homestead, the property provided several thousand dollars in rental income each month. The rental income was intended to provide me with the bulk of my retirement income which is no longer available and cannot be replaced which has caused undue stress. I owned the property for 23 years and was always in good standing until Nationstar began servicing my mortgage. I am unable to work and have no means to regain what has been lost. There was a total lack of concern or professionalism on the behalf of Nationstar during any communication regarding these issues.

All of the sudden in April Nationstar decided to pay my flood insurance without even consulting me or letting me know. Then they decide to charge me with a shortage of over $2400 because THEY decided to pay my flood insurance.

I have no problem paying my flood insurance but now my mortgage payment went up by $360 and now I can't put in any more money to pay off my principal amount. When I call the rep they tell me that there is a new "law" that states the lender has to pay the flood insurance and it must be under escrow. Because of this I have to pay another $360 on top of my mortgage payment for the next year. This is ridiculous and I've asked my insurance agent as well as my refinance agent about this "law" in California which DOESN'T EVEN EXIST! I will continue to call Nationstar until they get rid of these additional shortage charges. This is ridiculous.

First off, although I SENT the previous mortgage company (the company I had before NS took over) payment as my regular payment (auto-pay from my bank), NS decided not to POST the payment until 2 weeks later when THEY finally processed it. They told everyone there was a 60 (or 90?) day window during which late fees would not be charged in the transition which was good. However, they delayed posting the payment on the correct date - it was in their favor.

Secondly, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!! They spam you every fricken day! I called and the very polite young lady said that they didn't want me to forget them. Not that funny. I told her I remember them every time I make a payment (2x/month). There is no link on their website to opt out of solicitation email - BAD FORM! They took part of one check said it's for May's Mortgage and then said the payoff was short, so they took money out of the escrow account. One representative said I should send proof of second check, another, "You were only paying for May due 5/10..." Supervisor came on was very very rude... never let me explain my issue. He just said "That's all you are getting. Is there anything else." Rep, "Why did you send two checks, was it certified?" Me "Yes..." "Are you sure?" "Yes I am I bought it myself."

Another rep had me on hold and never returned. Another, "I see what you are saying and I can't figure out why it's coming up short." Then got her supervisor, placed on hold, she frequently updated me, then later said, "It's been over an hour. My supervisor is reviewing the account. Will call you back later or tomorrow..." It's been 3 weeks. I have had to hang up more than once since I use my entire lunch hour being on hold. It's been a horrible experience for me. In mid 2005, at the age of 25. I applied for a mortgage loan. The only information the loan officer ask me for over the phone, was my name and social security number. They didn't even ask me if I had a job or how much I made. At the time I didn't realize I was signing up for a subprime mortgage. This predatory lender gave me a $250,000 loan.

A couple of months ago I apply for a loan modification through Nationstar Mortgage. Everyone in their customer service department have been pleasant. But the company's policies and red tape make it close to impossible for a modification. I have provided them with so many different documents that they requested. Funny thing is to get a $250,000 loan All I had to provide were nine numbers, my social security number. But to get a loan modification through Nationstar, I have to provide them with so many different documents. If Nationstar really wanted to help their customers, they would just help their customers and not have all this red tape. If you're applying for a loan mod through Nationstar, all I can say is good luck, you'll need it... God bless whoever reads this.

    Updated review: July 8, 2017

A gentleman named LaQuinte called me regarding a review I wrote about excessive fees. It was regarding home inspection. He was wonderful and made it right. Nationstar is lucky to have him. He offered me a compromise and explained how to avoid these in the future.

    Original Review: June 17, 2017

I am reaching out to the NYS attorney general. After asking for 5 months for receipts for the so called inspection fees they are trying to gouge me on I get a massive printout which basically just shows ledgers of them supposedly paying companies to Come make sure I did not leave my property. Ironically one company, Solutionstar is a subsidiary Of Nationstar. Nationstar uses a clause that allows them to inspect properties on late mortgages.

While I understand the risk, clearly when a customer is paying their payments they have not abandoned the property. If they can't reach a customer they can impose this. However they have had contact with me through my payments. Corporate greed! 9.70% isn't enough for them. An inspection every so often I see. Not monthly. And not when you've been in touch with them.

Now since I asked the last time for my receipts to prove these visits, they have begun charging me for an inspection every week at 15.00. It's clear they want to gouge customers that are behind as much as they can. Putting money from one pocket to the other. To use this as an excessive way to take money is nothing more than fraud to me.

I ask for proof and now I get weekly inspections? I will fight through the NYS attorney generals office to get part or all of these back clearly showing they are using this clause to their advantage. Shame on Nationstar and their subsidiaries. They feed money to under a guise of the law. If I'm Not mistaken this isn't the first time they have been caught with excessive fees. I won't take it without a fight.

I unfortunately purchased investment property just before the bubble burst. I bought them with interest only loans to keep the payments low. The plan was to hold for 5 years and sell. Well you know what happened. The banks contributed to this bubble bursting mess but they got bailed out. Using our tax dollars (TARP). But now the culprits got raises and none went to prison but many victims remain and the banks like Nationstar refuses to help as they have been helped. Their greed is just the same old greed.

I spoke to a Nationstar rep 8 months ago or more to talk about my situation and mentioned that if they would not modify the loan and raised the interest rates that I would be forced underwater. They said I would have to be behind on my payments before they would talk to me. Then they raised my interest rate. Once this happened I could not afford the mortgage and I got behind. Now due to a new law that says if you claimed a loss on your taxes that is carried over, this amount will be deducted from your income when qualifying for a loan. Now I don't qualify for a loan or refi, even though my credit score was over 800. How does this make sense? Now Nationstar will not work with me for a short sale or for Deed in Lieu and has set a sale date for my property. Less than a month from today. I cannot say they did anything good for me.

Today, I spoke to the customer support supervisor, a CS rep, and a rep who hung up on me (although I was angry, I didn't raise my voice, nor was I rude, but I did insist on getting to the root of the issue and not simply reviewing payment history that was incorrect), for 2 hours and this was after a similar conversation with Nationstar customer service a month prior, regarding a payment incorrectly applied at their end causing a nightmare on my end. The root cause stems from Citi selling my mortgage to Nationstar, and a misapplied payment Citi made to my mortgage that was not my payment a year previous to the sale of my mortgage. I became aware of the error when Nationstar insisted my account was in arrears.

The supervisor directed me to provide my own research to correct the problem, not created by me, when Nationstar contacting Citi Mortgage would have been the correct way to fix this error created by the two mortgage companies. Although Veronica was quite understanding of the problem, she understood and expressed that the payments were incorrectly applied as I described the error to her, put me on "a short hold" that lasted 10 minutes, twice, and then fell back to the company language of my account being in arrears, which it has never been. Their easy resolution is for me to double pay my mortgage. This has been the worst mortgage experience I've ever had and I've purchased 4 homes and refinanced homes to recognize extremely poor customer service and total lack of responsibility, and lack of follow-up on an error I had no hand in creating.

I refinanced through them last month as we needed to see if we could get a lower interest rate. Everything was explained to me step-by-step, where I understood all of it, and we were qualified for the HARP loan, which we ended up getting. If I call them, they always had an answer for me.

They told me it was going to take until the end of the month, but it actually only took two weeks to get it done. It was a lot faster than they said, they were on top of everything. And every time you give them something they need, they didn't come back with something else over and over. They asked for everything all up front at one time, I gave it to them, and they did their thing. I was also so surprised that they set up a notary to come to me. We did everything electronically and it was a very good experience. They knew what they were doing, they're very professional, and it was seamless.

We refinanced with Nationstar to cut down on the length of time we were paying for our house. I'm 70 and my husband is 60 and we don't want to keep paying until we're too old to pay for it. We wanted to get the interest rate lowered, too. We want to get it paid for and 15 years sounded good to me because I was not going to sign for another 20, 30 years.

Overall, we are satisfied with Nationstar or we wouldn't continue using them. The interest rate is not lower but hopefully, we can get this house paid off faster. But I'm concerned about this letter that I got in the mail today from Nationstar. We will continue to deal with Nationstar but I'm confused why Fannie Mae is involved in anything. They sent a letter to us, a notification of assignment, sale or transfer of our mortgage loan. And it says, "$81,300 has been transferred by Nationstar Mortgage LLC to Fannie Mae. This transfer was effective 5/5/2017." And I don't know what this means.

There was a little bit of concern because my loan is backed by the VA and I couldn't find my DD 214 right away but Nationstar was able to move forward without it. I had a mortgage already, originally through Nationstar and then I just refinanced again through them to lower my payments. I had some issues with Joseph, the first person I talked to. He heard what I wanted but I had expressed that I had not been through this process besides when I first bought this house and that I was very inexperienced and was a little hesitant on doing it. He said no problem. Next thing I knew, I was already locked in and I had no clue what was going on. He just kept saying, "Oh, don't worry. It will all be okay. We'll work through it." They wanted us to get this VA loan because my husband was in the service. But unfortunately, because of how he left the service, I don't think he would've gotten it. Plus, we didn't have time to get all the forms in time that they needed it for.

The frustrating part is that he was just determined on that one and not listening. I had to finally tell him that I had to back out because I thought I was being very pressured into another type of mortgage that I didn't feel comfortable with or feel comfortable with how the situation was going so fast and things weren't being expressed to me by him. He appreciated that and parted ways at that time. Then a couple of weeks later, he called back with a different opportunity, a different type of loan and which is the one I ended up with, a refinance opportunity. He was much more explanatory in that process than he was the first time. So, I thought he had actually taken my advice. So I ended up going with it. We did get my payment lowered, which was the good part. Overall, we’re happy with it.

We have been dealing with Nationstar for over 11 months now when our house flooded on our honeymoon. We finally got our final inspection from Nationstar over 2 months ago and they still will not release the final check. Every time I call, they change their story and say we keep missing paperwork. This has been the worst experience I've ever dealt with. How can you send an inspector out, say the work has been 100% complete and still not release our final check. This cannot be legal.

I refinanced my VA loan through Nationstar and I was very pleased with the whole process. Jason **, my loan processor, did a fantastic job of helping me through the process. He was always available for me whenever I had questions and always kept me in the loop of what was happening. I would recommend Nationstar to anyone.

Something happened with my escrow account. I was mailed the check and I didn't really understand what it was about so, I cashed it and carried on. Later, it turned out that my Escrow came in to a negative balance and they were going to start charging me on top of the normal regular balance of the payment which was more than I really cared to pay. We scratched around and did some figuring and it turned out that by refinancing, it would help me with the numbers and get my mortgage to where I needed it to be while still being able to repay the deficit on the escrow. Nationstar bought out my mortgage from another company. Everybody there was pretty much top-notch. They had good answers for me which is what I liked about the whole process.

I don't find many people who are laymen, who will call and will go through the Math of the refinance with me. I didn't understand Escrow like a pro would have but they were able to go over the Math versus what the cost was without the escrow, with the Escrow and with the deficit of the escrow. Then, they redid that on the back side of the refinance and showed me how it would cover the escrow as well as the mortgage payment with the refinancing at a lower rate. I'm a numbers kind of guy and I deal with numbers all the time. But it has nothing to do with money and by them being able to do that for me, it became clear that they were looking out for my best interest. They really did a good job and I appreciate them for helping me out with the little bind that I was in. They made my home possible. I would never be able to come up with the $80-$70,000, and just shook it out and buy a house. So, I am very pleased with my mortgage.

My other mortgage was going to adjust and I wasn’t sure what our company was gonna look like in a couple of months. So I refinanced with Nationstar and they were good. The rate went up a little bit but I was afraid of what it was going to do more. So, it’s still good. The first person I talked to was really good but the second person was really hard to work with. I had to keep going back and forth and say, “That’s not what I agreed to earlier.” There’s a little disconnect between the person setting it all up and the person doing the paperwork. So there’s a lack of communication between the two departments.

The interest rate with Nationstar Mortgage was good and we got to save the first month. It was an easy transaction. But they should go paperless. They always send paper monthly statements and then you have to pay and write checks every month. It’s ridiculous.

Nationstar purchased my mortgage from Bank of America. And because of the government's harp loan, I looked into refinancing my old mortgage. I had a conversation with the Nationstar rep via telephone and it was handled fine. The rep was very effective with what was available to me and how I wish to proceed. So I had no problems with the entire process except for the rate, which was the only thing that bugged me. It was somewhat on the high side and now the rates have dropped so dramatically and I'm stuck with the 5.1% rate, which I'm not happy about. At that time, the going rate was in the 44 and a quarter and if I wanted to add another $78,000 to my outside balance, they would give me a lower rate but since I did not want to do that they increased the rate but there were no fees involved. Other than that, they did everything as they said they were going to and my experience has been exceptional.

I was on a very great loan and interest rates were still low. I wanted to lock in a fixed rate before things changed and I stayed with Nationstar because it was the easiest. My mortgage was transferred to them a number of years ago and I didn’t have to go through an appraisal. It was fast and simple. The gentleman that I dealt with most was very helpful and always there for me when I had questions. It was a good experience with him. I knew I didn’t want another 30-year loan and I talked about going to a 10 and he recommended we do 15 because the interest rates isn't different. They did a good job and it's been a positive experience with Nationstar.

In the beginning I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t a scam but eventually, I felt confident. The two people who called, Anthony and Kelly, were reassuring, very personable, and very professional. Their guidance was clear enough as to not confuse me too much. Everything was a breeze and I’m happy with the transaction overall.

Nationstar mortgage Company is the loan holder. They are not recognizing that I am a service member of the US ARMY. I have been denied loan modification and they are proceeding in foreclosure. I wish to stay in the home, I have nowhere to go. Nationstar Mortgage has had home inspector come to resident and I have been harassed numerous occasion. Their home inspectors have pulled in my driveway and yelled, "Pay your ** mortgage". They don't know the circumstances and the home inspector when I came out into the driveway he reached in his car and got a bat. I told him to leave and called police. Their home inspectors keep pulling in the driveway taking pictures and speeding off. I followed numerous inspectors and told them to stop stalking my house and sitting in front taking pictures for 10 mins. My wife has recently purchased a firearm because of the harassment.

Nationstar said their house inspectors, the gentlemen who approached my wife on the property, said he was with the bank. I suffer from PTSD. I served 16 combat tours in Persian Gulf, Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan. I have contacted MD sheriff ** and he said they aren't allowed to do all this. Sheriff ** said, "They're breaking the law for even putting the house in foreclosure status. If they come on your property again we will arrest them for trespassing" and advised me not to discharge my firearm unless they try to come in the property.

I currently had friend, a Chestertown Police officer PFC Louis ** staying with me at the resident to make sure nothing happens anymore. They're just trying to foreclose on an active duty service member. They don't care. I'm not going anywhere. I'm an infantry soldier and I will defend my property with 162 retired infantry american legion members. I guarantee this will make CNN if you try to foreclose. 11B till I die! Hooooahhh.

I know we are behind on our payments. Our payment came back refused a week ago. I called and spoke to Tamika, she told me she didn't know why it was refused but she would send a message to her supervisor to have someone give us options to help us catch up. Less than a week later payment is refused again. I called spoke to Christina. She told me it was refused because I was behind by 4 months. I said, "What can I do". She said I could call before 8 on that day which was May 31st and schedule two payments. And she was planning to send us information to do a loan modification.

I called around 6 that day. Spoke to a Becca, who then told me I had to make 3 payments because I was 5 months behind. I said I could only do two months. She refused it. Saying she wouldn't accept it. I asked why it was different and she said the person I spoke to didn't know what they were talking about and she is a senior specialist and she did. In less than a week I got 3 different answers. It is very frustrating and confusing. How can people be expected to call for help when everything is so conflicted. Not very helpful.

At first I was hesitant to start another refi since I had already tried twice in the past year with disappointing results. One was with an Equity sharing company; the other my own credit union. Both required appraisals at $500 at my expense; needless to say I didn't make it through Underwriting. The Processor at the equity sharing company said I was late with my payments; later, I received a letter saying that my income could not be verified even though I had submitted my 1099R's and Award letters. My credit union said I was too deeply in debt... I was.

In early April of this year I called Nationstar to discuss a problem I was having with my property insurance payments. Long story short, the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. Before we said our goodbye's the service rep asked if I was interested in refinancing my mortgage; I said why not. Later that day after checking my voice mail, a Daniel (somebody) called about doing a refi. He called again twice the next day; I thought to myself, “Man, this guy is serious.” So I returned his call...and the rest is history—VA refinanced at a lower rate with cash-out to pay off over $100,000 in debt. Needless to say, YES, I am glad I returned his call.

To you, Daniel **, Shawn **, and Linda **: you have my sincere and deepest appreciation for your outstanding work in processing my loan. Your professionalism and timely interactions from the start of each phase of my loan application and to the end were a textbook model of “How to Process a Mortgage Loan”. Keep up your excellent work. We were wanting to get a bigger house but we owe too much on the one we have and we can't sell it. We decided to refinance with Nationstar for a shorter term since we had our loan through them the last time. We did this a couple of months ago. The reps asked me what I wanted and I told them that I wanted to get a 15-year term so I can pay off the house or pay it down faster. The rep punched it all into his computer and said, "Yup. We can do that." And he made it all happen. When we had any questions, he explained it. They were very courteous and willing to work with you. Nationstar followed up with me and everything went well. I've been happy with them ever since we got them.

I have been with Nationstar for 3-4 years, as they acquired my loan from another bank at that time. I never had any problems with them. Recently, my husband and I wanted to purchase a travel trailer and needed a loan. We didn't even know that Nationstar could help us until we applied for a revolving credit line through an RV vendor for a super low approval amount, then tried our local bank for a home equity credit line where we were denied. I went to Nationstar's website where I was surprised to find they advertised a refinance offer. I filled out an easy, online form, Nationstar promptly contacted me by phone and discussed my options. We went forward with the application process over the phone, which was super easy. Then I uploaded my supporting documents to the secure site for Nationstar to access.

They kept me informed the whole way through the process. I could access my documents for e-signing conveniently from my own home or on the go. Clicking is way easier than signing and coordinating with someone at an office. Of course, when it came time to sign actual hard copies, Nationstar worked around my schedule to send a mobile notary to me and a separate notary to my husband who is working out of town. This is definitely the way to go for anyone who is comfortable with the internet and email. I had my cash-out funds and refinance completed in approximately 30 days, start to finish, along with a great interest rate. I truly appreciate the two Nationstar professionals who walked me through the process, Jesse ** and Amanda **. Thank you so much for your work ethic and diligence to help me and my husband finance our travel trailer!

I had a very good job before and made very good money. And I ended up having to go out on disability, which went on from $2000 every two weeks to $900 a month. That put me in a huge bond so that’s the reason my husband and I chose to refinance. At first, he was very disappointed that I lost Auckland and went with Nationstar because when I was with Auckland, I had a lady that worked with me. She always talks and starts communication with one another. We talk with each other once a week and I would pay extra money because we were behind to where I got caught up. But all of a sudden, I went to pay one day and it was with Nationstar and that was a problem. I didn’t like the transition and that I didn't have anyone.

When I first started with Nationstar, I could make my payment and they would still call me every week. I would tell them I won't get my Social Security check until the last Wednesday of the month but apparently, it was never recorded. Then finally, they stopped and I’ve already made my first new payment. I hadn’t had any calls from them and that was the biggest one that’s happened that's good on this road. Also, I have tried to refinance with them before and I kept being denied. They were going to do a modification and then all of a sudden, I got a phone call from this man who was with Nationstar and he was able to get me refinance. I was very pleased but not with the amount because it’s only supposed to be 500 and something. But he said next year it would go down to that amount.

I just made my first payment when I got my bill. I had to pay $588 when that lady came out and I had to sign all the papers. They ended up sending me two different checks back so that was good. One couldn't beat their mortgage professionals and everybody I’ve ever talked to there has been very knowledgeable and helpful. They’ve proved to be very reliable and I even got refinanced so that was a good thing. It's been a wonderful experience and I’m glad I’m with Nationstar.
