Their system failed to show a scheduled payment online, so I made an immediate payment to ensure they were paid. After the weekend, I noticed I was being double withdrawn. I had a 3 way conversation with them and their bank, and stop paid the payments at their reps counsel. No mention of fees. Shortly after I was charged $50 for the stop pays.
I went in to make a new payment as we had discussed needed to be done, and my payment was denied due to the stop pay. No one had advised this would occur. I had to go in and work that all out again to have a payment processed. Another $25. When asked to make it right, they take no responsibility and refuse to reimburse the fees. Great ownership. I could have fixed my issue without wasting their reps time and gotten myself the fees. Waste of my time and useless customer service. I have learned to expect nothing from them. I've been in the financial industry my whole career, and take pride I provide better service than I've received.

My original mortgage was sold to Nationstar. Then Nationstar sent us a lot of information about refinancing my old mortgage. I then decided to refinance with them and during the refinancing process, I called them initially but for the most part, I dealt with them through email. It was a quick and painless process and they were easy to get a hold of. They also gave us information we needed quickly, as far as the new payment. The refinancing was for a shorter mortgage and it raised my payments just a little bit. But I was impressed with the Nationstar professionals’ knowledge about what the process was.

My experience with Nationstar was fabulous. They bought my house a long time ago and I just refinanced with them to lower my rates so I could have a less payments. They are very honest. They said what they’re gonna do completely before there’s any signature. Also, their mortgage professionals were all fantastic. I am a very satisfied customer.

Nationstar acquired my mortgage from another servicing agency on November 1. Municipal taxes were due on November 15. Nationstar sent in a tax payment that arrived on November 16, A DAY LATE. This left an unpaid tax balance of $18.00. Nationstar did not respond to the late fee and therefore the fee increase from $18 to $272.00 which Nationstar says I should now be responsible for paying. I understand that Nationstar is changing its name to Mr. Cooper. I fully understand the name change.

1 star is too high! Our loan was sold to these morons. They are completely inept. We no longer have an escrow account associated with our mortgage because Nationstar is entirely too stupid to handle that appropriately. DO NOT UTILIZE THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! Unfortunately if your loan is sold, you may not have any choice. Nationstar is motivating us to pay off our house early so as not to deal with these fools any longer. Even after having our escrow account removed, Nationstar is still sending letters about forcing insurance on us. We pay our insurance in full each year. Our insurance company has been paid, but these silly people still want to force place insurance on us. My wife has spent so many hours wasted speaking to one person after another. What an absolute joke!

I retired early from my job because I had to help my mom. I rented out my house and continued paying the mortgage. My payment was a little bit more than $1,300 a month and I was just gonna pay an extra $200. That was my plan to get the mortgage paid off and get it to 10 years. I kept hearing that at a certain age, I can lower my mortgage. I do have my IRA account that I’m leaning on but I didn’t think Nationstar would consider me.
They reached out to me and asked what I was planning on doing as I still had 20 years left on my house, which I thought I had a lot less than that. So, we went over everything and looked at the 10-year and 20-year terms. Jenna, the girl who called me, told me that if we refinanced a 30-year loan, it’ll bring the payment down to $900. That means if I keep the plan in, I can pay an extra $500 a month and definitely get it paid early. Jenna was really awesome. She took all my information and got the process going. She sent me all the paperwork and I love the electronic sign. One could do it on their phone now and it makes the process so much faster.
Then I was turned over to Leticia who was also great. She explained everything to me. She would always call in the morning. If she didn’t answer when I call her, she always called me back right away. Then the person they sent out was amazing. He took the time to sit down and explain everything to me and I really appreciated that a lot. My son just bought his house and it took him about 30 minutes to sign the papers. But the guy was here for about an hour and a half and made sure he went over every document. I don’t remember someone being that thorough when I bought the house.
I'll start making payments next month and hopefully, it’s gonna be close to a 10-year loan so it’s gonna be less money out of my pocket. It would be a win-win for me all the way around and I’m very happy. When we crashed and our houses went down to nothing, it seemed like the banks and mortgage companies were against us. But Nationstar put me in a better position. They didn't reach out to me and I wouldn’t have called them because I’ve been out of work almost two years and just started a part-time job. That’s the thing that floored me. I had qualified so it was awesome. Whatever the program is, it allowed me to keep the same mortgage company and get my payment down. Everybody at Nationstar was great and everything went really smooth.

I've had my house financed through Nationstar Mortgage since I bought it. The guidance that I got when the refinancing options were discussed was great. Nationstar's refinance process was also very streamlined and smooth. They did everything around my schedule and had all my information. Also, I did everything right here from my house and send the information back through computer. And then they sent the closer from the Title Bureau and he came out to the house. I signed everything up with him and it was done deal. He also called me on the telephone if there were any problems with anything. The experience overall was great and communication was good.

Nationstar bought my old mortgage. I was paying PMI on an FHA loan and there still wasn’t another way to get it in between even though I had equity at my house. I wasn’t able to get that without paying down the full 20 percent. Going with Nationstar was easier since they were already my lender for a couple of years. I didn’t have to provide all the documentation that the other lender was requesting. Refinancing with them was very fast too. The whole mortgage was closed within about three weeks. Even my home appraisal was done within a week of me inquiring. I recommended them to my sister when she refinanced.
The people from Nationstar were professionals as well. They answered all my questions and they were knowledgeable. However, I finally ended up removing myself from their list because I was getting refinance information everyday even after I refinanced from Nationstar. They were still soliciting me for additional refinancing. It made me feel less confident about refinancing when they said, “Oh, now rates have dropped,” and it’s only been less than a week since I finished. I closed on a Thursday and then by Monday or Tuesday the following week, I got an email about the rates dropping again. I just signed another 30-year mortgage with Nationstar and over the length of 30 years, it is going to make a significant amount of difference at one point.
Nationstar can also have the option where if the rates change within 30 days of you closing on your mortgage, there won’t be additional fees that they’d charge to go ahead and refinance again. I’ve seen that now advertised on TV. Now I’m starting to have a whole consumer regret or remorse and it’s not that the experience was bad. I feel that I did not get the best deal.

Our old mortgage was taken over by Nationstar. It was changed when the mortgage was sold to another bank. One of the main reasons we did it is that we were looking for a little break in our payment. The people at Nationstar Mortgage were always nice. If they didn't know about something, they'd get me in contact with someone who knew. They were easy to work with. They laid out options for me so I always knew if there is a better way or a different way to do the mortgage. It was nice that I had a payment plan on. So far, it's been okay and I'd recommend them to others.

They have my home insurance settlement for roof damage/replacement. I have spent the last 2 weeks getting lied to and sent on wild goose chases. Bottom line they are refusing to pay. The roof has been 100% completed since 5/6 and they inspected it on 5/11 and agreed. They still have 70% of the insurance proceeds. They have not paid in 25% increments and now have requested yet another inspection for the inside of my home. The only damage was $300 to repair stain from water seeping through drywall. They are holding $70k, agree that all work done, but now plan to stall another month to inspect a $300 patchwork job in a closet. I am filing a lawsuit next week.

Every year, my interest could change. It was good for years but I was worried about what was going to go on with the prime. I wanted to go ahead and get it into a fixed interest rate to keep it at a reasonably low rate and if something happened to me, my wife wouldn’t have to worry about it. Nationstar has had my mortgage for 10 years and I refinanced with them. I’ve always had good service and communications with them have been outstanding. Their guidance was very detailed and they worked with me on everything. They're very thorough and not pushy. They also gave me the best option that I selected for what I needed.
They're fantastic and my monthly payment went down. They’re one of the mortgage companies that looks at what’s the benefit for you and not what’s the benefit for their company. Once you get involved with them, their customer service and their constantly trying to keep an eye out for you are just outstanding. It was a perfect experience and I’ve already recommended them to other people.

I have a loan with Nationstar so I called them to refinance it because it was an adjustable mortgage. Doing the refinance was self-explanatory. They have all of their information on file and they just had to sign papers. The rep contacted me, submitted the paperwork, and kept me informed with everything. It was a 10 or 15 day refinance process and that was super fast. Since refinancing, I haven't had to pay a mortgage in a month. We've also lowered the payments a little bit and I'm in the fixed rate now so it's better. I was perfectly content and I'm going to use them again when I refinance.

I called Nationstar mortgage to advise them about changes in my homeowner's insurance and the lady who helped me suggested that they have a great program to refinance. So I told them, "Yes," and they called me the next day. It was easy for me because I'm a realtor so I'm very familiar with the process, but they were very, very helpful, quick, and they keep me updated at all times. They make it really easy and simple. I had my mortgage through Bank of America and they bought out to Nationstar. I was on a flexible payment and wanted a steady payment. Robert, their rep who helped me out with the loan, was really good. He was friendly and personable. He walked us through quite a bit. The only thing they didn’t inform us was the extra insurance which we gotta pay in case we default on the loan.
Also, we had put a cancellation through for them not to take the house payment as they weren’t supposed to, but they took it and overdrew my account of about $790. Whenever I called them and said something to them about it, I got an hour and a half argument over it. It was very frustrating. The guy had me to a point where he was gonna hear some things I didn’t want to say so I hung up. I called back the next day and it was a two hour and 45 minute-call. The third day, it was a three hour and 56-minute process trying to get my money back. My mortgage was purchased by Nationstar. Dealing with their customer service has been a nightmare. Upon receiving notice from my prior mortgage company that Nationstar acquired my loan, I called Nationstar numerous times trying to set up my autopay. Each time I was told that my loan wasn't yet in their system, that I couldn't make any payments or set up autopay until that happened, and that I should call back in a week or so. I was assured during each conversation that I had 60 days to set up my account, and that no payments or interest were due during that time.
After about a month, I called and found out that Nationstar FINALLY added my loan to their system. I set up my autopay immediately and had the Nationstar representative stay on the phone while I did so. I received the verbal assurance of the Nationstar representative that my autopay was set up correctly based on what she could see on her end. I also received a confirmation e-mail from Nationstar indicating the same. Even so, Nationstar UNILATERALLY cancelled my autopay a few weeks later and did so without informing me. I only discovered this because I decided on a whim to review my account.
When I called to figure out what was going on, the Nationstar representative had the audacity to try and blame me for the autopay cancellation and for being behind on my payments! She later discovered the autopay was cancelled on her end by a supervisor because my account wasn't "current". When I asked to explain what she meant by that, she couldn't. After talking to two more Nationstar representatives and waiting on hold forever for them to research the issue, I finally gave up and simply ended up submitting an amount equal to two of my mortgage payments hoping that this would bring my account current - despite the supervisor not really knowing whether this would be sufficient.
To make matters worse, the supervisor advised me that submitting the payment would not reactivate my autopay. Rather, I'd have to go back to their website and set it up all over again. All in all, Nationstar provided TERRIBLE customer service in my opinion. The Nationstar representatives seemed poorly trained/educated, lacked common sense, and tried hard to shift blame away from their company to me despite documentation to the contrary. I wish I could have my old mortgage company back.
UPDATED ON 06/02/2017: My initial poor review of Nationstar doesn't seemed to have done much good. I have now been assigned a "specialist" to help resolve my issue. However, the purported specialist is as clueless as the rest of the representatives I've talked to. My specialist doesn't seem to understand Nationstar's payment system, struggled to provide any explanation, and contradicted herself more than once on the phone. I still have no idea how to get Nationstar to accept my payments so that I can finally set up my autopay and be done talking to representatives from this company. This is my second negative review here. Not sure how many poor reviews I'll need to make before Nationstar starts doing a better job.

I apologize for your experience. It looks as if everything on the account has been updated and we will follow up with you once the funds have posted. Thank you. ^Kalie

Our mortgage was through Nationstar and since they already had all our stuff, we refinanced with them. The interest rate that we had was at 6.25%. The rates were better and I could do the no-appraisal. Refinancing with them dropped our payment to about $200. I called Nationstar, they took all my information down and we closed within two weeks so it was easier and more convenient.
The loan officer who I spoke with was really efficient and called me back when he said he was gonna call me back. And when I was pushed to my processor, it was the same way. She answered my calls and my emails. It was really good. Everybody was really nice and friendly. The only issue I had was with the closing. We had to close at 4:00 on a Monday to fund by Friday, which we were fine with. I left work early and my husband had something to do. But there was a miscommunication between the closer and the notary who came to our house. The notary was over 30 minutes late and she didn’t introduce herself. She doesn't work directly with Nationstar, though.
Other than, that, everything was really good and the paperwork was correct. Also, their guidance was perfect because I already knew what we were talking about since I work for a mortgage company and I'm a processor. I don't want any other mortgage company. My mortgage started out with Bank of America and then I went to another bank, but I didn't like either one of the banks. I've never been happy with Bank of America and when Nationstar picked it up, I've been with them ever since. They did everything over the internet so I didn’t have to run around and look at a bunch of papers. I was set up to be able to print stuffs again and send it back so it made it really easy. I dropped to $100 in payment and I dropped in percentage too. I pay it online and I've never had a problem with it.
Their mortgage professionals were very polite and very professional. If I had some questions for them, I got a straight answer and it made sense and this was the third or fourth house I bought. They didn't put any stress on me or got me stressed out, and it was done in about two weeks’ time. So, I was very happy with it. I did to Nationstar the same thing I did with Suntrust. I called their reps and told them that they’re getting my house over my dead body. And they said that’s the reaction they like because they know that I want to keep my house. Then right away, they started working with me by sending me the right papers. They worked with me professionally, which I was very proud of. I also did everything they asked of me, so it was no time before everything came through and I kept my house.

I was trying to save money for the person who comes to look over your home for you. I stopped fighting because I didn’t have the strength in me to have fights. I went to another company to get insured there. I was sleeping one day when Nationstar called me. They told me that they called to check on us and my accreditance. Right from there, they made refinancing look good to me. I also might not be here until 2018. So I got my house refinanced. I have nothing negative to say about Nationstar. I had an adjustable-rate mortgage that became a fixed mortgage. I figured that over a certain period of time interest rates are going to go up, so I better get a fixed rate, and that was good. The amount that I paid for fees was high, in my opinion, and I figured out how long it was going to take me to recruit that. We were going to be in the house longer than that, so it was good. The thing that was a little bit insane was that I signed all these documents and then they had a closing where I had to sign them all again. I presume that that was necessary because they wanted my handwritten signature and not an electronic signature. But it seems to me to be a redundancy that they're asking me to do it again when I've already agreed to all those forms. But the attorney they sent out here to do the closing wasn’t particularly charming but that’s okay.
I went through bankruptcy and I probably shouldn’t have refinanced my house to start with. That was a real chaotic time back in 2010. I signed one of those modifications and I never ever should have done that because I didn't need to. My house was not in the bankruptcy and I went from a 15 to a 40-year mortgage. There was some automatic paperwork that was generated that I didn't need to sign and it extended. That was disastrous and I could have used some guidance. The bankruptcy attorney I used would never return calls. It’s a good rate now and we were able to get it back down to a 25 but I’d already paid five years on it. It did shave 10 years off the link and maybe $50 off the monthly amount so that’s better than nothing.
They did a good job and I was surprised to even get it. I didn’t have any credit established at that point and the bankruptcy ended in July. I thought I would never ever get credit again and they said to try to get a credit card because I didn’t have a credit score when they were trying to run the loan. I only had one agency that was reporting my credit and they said to go there and open up a card. I wasn’t able to but then, one day, an offer came in the mail. I got it. I filled it out, got the card, spent $40, paid off the $40 and then called them back up.
Sure enough, they reopened the file and the credit score had gone to all three reporting services. They proceeded and I had to be cooperative. They told me what to do and I did exactly what they said. Don’t use it, pay it off, give them time to report the payment in full, they opened it back up, proceeded and closed. I had everything ready when they closed it the first time earlier. From start to finish, it was two months from when I first inquired about it, getting the credit card, paying that and then them reopening the case. Then, it was less than two weeks from the time they reopened the case to when we closed. It wasn’t long at all. The overall experience with them was good and I don’t have any complaints. I'm glad I did it and I’d recommend them.

I told the guy I had spoken to that I had been trying in the past but was always denied because of the type of loan I had. He checked it for me and said I was approved. They also helped me to finance our home when I bought it ten years ago. It was a great interaction. He was more than happy to help me whenever I had questions. He made sure I understood what he was doing and walked me through the steps real good. I've got a lower payment since refinancing my loan with them. Nationstar bought my mortgage from Bank of America. I had to put my son’s name in the house, so I refinanced my old mortgage with them. My son’s gonna buy the house, then we’re gonna remove my name, and he going take over, alone. That is going to be in two years, so for now, we’re gonna stay in the mortgage with him. Nationstar’s representatives did a good job, especially George, and I am happy with the job he did. They were clear in explaining everything, and the refinancing experience was wonderful. I’ve had a loan with Nationstar for a long time and refinanced with them so I'd get a little lower interest rate. That makes things a little bit simpler. The only problem I had was in the closing. My wife had nothing to do with the loan and the price was in my name totally. But my wife had to sign off on the loan because of some idiotic thing they had going on over there. The lawyers were applying South Carolina laws which are different from Georgia's. The attorney that handled it here in Georgia knew that it wasn’t right but he did it anyway. I don’t mind my wife signing but it was a glitch and shouldn’t have ever happened. But we went ahead and closed the loan because I didn’t wanna have to go back through another ordeal with it. But overall, the Nationstar folks were great and did fine.

It was a wonderful experience with Nationstar Mortgage. They were my current mortgage holder and it was easier to stay with them. But they used to have very bad reviews. I researched them and it was horrible. They were a predatory company. Then we thought about going with Wells Fargo. However, in recent readings, I’m not seeing as much negativity with Nationstar. They have better reviews now.
My interactions with their reps were all wonderful. They were very helpful and constantly in touch with me which I appreciated. First, I had the recruiter then he turned me over to the girl that handled it. I got to look forward to her phone calls. When I’d pick up the phone and call them, there would be an answer. They seemed knowledgeable but if they didn't have a question answered, they still followed up. They confirmed the answer and then reported back to me.
I got a lower mortgage now. By switching from the 30-year to a 15, I’ve given myself the flexibility, with taking the money I’ve saved, with lower interest rates, to apply even more to the principal. Our payment dropped to $350 a month and the percentage points went down, too. I was at 5 point something and now, I’m at 3 point something. I only owed a little over $70,000 on the home. But to me, it was worth it. And I’ve been paying extra every month as well. It's not possible to get a 30-year program that far in 12 years without paying $400 extra a month. And we'll continue to overpay.
I'm already retired, my husband retires in 9 years, if not sooner, and we want it paid off. We don’t want a house payment when my husband retires, even if it is only $748 a month. Compared with most people in America, we’re sitting easily. Around here, people’s house payment is at least $2000 a month and I don’t know how one lives like that. But I’m really pleased with Nationstar. It was a very painless experience and was golden all the way through.

In 2012 my household had a major financial crisis and we couldn't pay the mortgage fully each month but we sent partial payments and tried hard to stay afloat. By September 2014 we knew we couldn't catch up so we called Nationstar to see what we could do. They said we were too far behind to refinance and our only options were to find the money to bring the account current, go into foreclosure, or do a deed in lieu. We decided to do a deed in lieu and we're told the process usually takes between 45 and 90 days. We received initial paperwork and were told that we needed an inspection and to be in the process of moving out by the end of October. We did all of those things and then silence from nationstar, we would call and leave messages and they would never get returned.
In December we finally had someone talk to us, a different person than we started with though because nationstar employees apparently switch jobs every two months. This person told us that they didn't see that our deed in lieu had even been started so we did things again and then silence again. Fast forward to July 2015 we are on our 4th!! person handling our case when they tell us that our case hadn't moved forward because we hadn't surrendered the keys to signify we were completely out of the house. So three people didn't bother to tell us that but then things started moving. We actually got paperwork to finish the process, we got the paperwork on August 25, we signed everything and sent it back the next day. We were told that we were done. That our deed in lieu was finished, we were dumb enough to take them at their word. That was the end of August 2015.
In March 2017 we got a nationstar bill that said we owed over $20,000 in payments. Since then we found out that nationstar never actually filed the deed in lieu and they have told us that we have to refile everything and start over. When will it end nationstar? When will you actually do your job and stop just dragging us around?

I was looking over our bank account information to be sure things were all good. That's when I noticed that our mortgage went from 572 to 828 dollars! We had not been notified of any change in our mortgage rates and Nationstar has been totally helpless in explaining to us why it went up so much. Basically, from the website, it appears that our escrow payment has increased (I have no idea why though). And apparently we have a shortage, so they tacked on another amount to our bill.
Now we are asked to pay more than our original mortgage payment when we first bought our house ($750). Our mortgage went down to $572 when Chase Morgan realized we were paying too much escrow. Now, Nationstar is charging us almost $300 more because we don't have enough in escrow. What the heck?! And the fact that we were not notified in any way of this, our checking account was almost withdrawn – we weren't planning on an extra $300 to be taken out this month! When contacting NS, I was told I couldn't talk to them because my name is not on the account – it's under my husband's name. And even though I was able to provide them with all of my husband's information, they still said no. They were awful to deal with and I had to keep asking the rep to repeat herself because I couldn't understand her accent. Ugh. This is a ridiculous company and I don't understand how JP Chase Morgan could sell us to them.

Mishandling of insurance fund??? Mistreating customers. I bought my house in '09. I was originally with BOA, they sold the loan to Nationstar. Since Nationstar took over the loan it is been problem after problems, some are just gross incompetence. For example, one year they neglected to pay my homeowner insurance, while the money is sitting in escrow. Another year, they miscalculated the escrow. Resulted in me owing nearly 7,500. And it was me who found the error! MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THEM NOW. I HAD WATER DAMAGE TO MY HOME, THEY ARE NOT RELEASING THE FUNDS FOR THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. They seemed to have clear guidelines of what needs to be done for them to release the funds and I have followed all of their guidelines.
When I call to inquire as to why they have not released the funds? They suddenly have a different set of rules that is not written anywhere that require them to sent me (the customer) $1,500 out of $46,000 to replace kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, dining room, living room, and family room! They initially specified that 25% of the fund would release at the onset of the renovation, 25% midway, 25% when 75% is complete and the rest once 90% is complete, THEY HAVE NOT HONOR THEIR END. When I called they ask to provide receipts to prove that I have spent money to initiate the renovation project. I did $11,000 plus worth of receipt from Home Depot and Lowe's.
I called to inquire about the delay. They said that they needed an inspection. I had them sent their inspector, which further delayed renovation project. They have not send any money. Last I heard they were going to send us another $2,500, while the whole project is budgeted for $52,000. In the meantime we (my family and I) have been living in a hotel room, eating out and basically struggling to survive, while these people are playing games with us. WE ARE STRESSED TO THE MAX, UNSURE HOW TO PROCEED. I wish someone would intervene on our behalf!

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar by HSBC. I attempted to refinance and found Nationstar to be completely incompetent and dishonest. From day one, I informed Daniel ** in writing that my attorney would be handling the closing and the title work. I have excellent legal insurance through my employer which covers these fees at no cost to me. I provided the initial paperwork immediately to Daniel, and then continued to receive full page emails from Daniel's manager in bold red font saying that I needed to provide the requested documents ASAP or I would lose my rate lock. I would call Daniel and ask what was needed and he said that I had provided everything they required. That the red emails were just standard procedure. WHAT???
I was assigned to a closer, Jonathan **, from which the nightmare truly began. Jonathan ignored me and had the title work completed without deference to my attorney. When I refused to pay for it and insisted my attorney would in fact handle it, they attempted to charge me for rate lock extensions. They constantly harassed me to contact my attorney for paperwork they ALREADY HAD in their possession and still tried to charge me for additional rate lock extensions. In the end, after I had contacted the title company directly and hounded my attorney they both provided dated emails proving that Nationstar had been sent the required documents weeks earlier. At which point I refused to pay for any of the rate lock extensions and Nationstar agreed to waive them.
Buffalo Title company at the behest of my attorney, completed the title work and is a subsidiary of and fully insured by Chicago title. Chicago title is a company which Nationstar frequently does business with. All of the title documentation was provided on Chicago title letterhead. Buffalo Title was mentioned as creating the documents. However, Nationstar chose to deny the title work saying Buffalo title was not covered with E&O insurance, even though Nationstar was provided with additional documentation proving that Buffalo Title was in fact covered by Chicago title's insurance.
End result was Nationstar threatening to cancel the refinance unless I paid them over a thousand dollars for the initial title work that they had completed against my specific directive. I believe they did this intentionally to attempt to recoup the money spent on their title search. I refused and cancelled the refinance. What a nightmare!! I will refinance with another company, if for no other reason than to pull my mortgage out from under such an incompetent, deceitful, and dishonest institution.

When we finally think the end is in sight and request our 90% inspection we see just how awful and uncaring and corrupt they are!!! We passed our 90% inspection, we were 96%. When they received the results of the inspection they changed it to 90%, which still meets the set 90%. They are refusing to give us our remaining funds saying baseboards are not up. The baseboards were here and fixing to go up. I have called three times and each time I get told they will request funds be released and call me back, no phone call or funds! You ask to speak to supervisor and are put on hold for no less than 30 minutes only to be told one will call you back, never happens!
How do you rebuild your house back to 100% without all of your insurance money, our money not Nationstar's. We pay those premiums! We have had to use our savings and paychecks in between getting them to release money. They still expect your mortgage note every month even though they are keeping you from being able to live in your home. They make sure and let you know if your late are behind that they will be keeping your money from you. Dealing with these heartless people has been almost worse than the flood itself! I could’ve gotten a better rate had I shopped around but the gentleman talked me out of it saying that it becomes different then I get the closing costs. My refinance with Nationstar was handled very quickly. The professionals were outstanding and they did exactly what they told me they were going to do and it happened right on schedule. However, on one of my houses, I made the first payment on the loan but they couldn't figure out where to apply it so they put it in suspense. But I made all the rest of the payments on time and then we went to do this refi. They told me I was delinquent but after investigating it, they figured out they were the ones delinquent, not me. They corrected it, but it was about a four-week period. The young rep made it work in the customer service department and she's outstanding. In fact, I've written a couple of emails about her service.
Nationstar also bought the loan on my second house. At that point in time, I was in bankruptcy but I made the payments. They changed the payment because of escrow but did not notify me. So, I made about 12 more payments short $31, and they declared me delinquent every month for that period of time. So, we had an interesting conversation and again, the young rep figured out a way to get it fixed. But, in a day of servicing the loan, I'm not very impressed with them. Also to date, they have rectified both of the other situations but my credit hasn't been completely cleaned up yet. It's being worked on.
They're also obnoxious. My mortgage payments are paid out of a bill payer and they're paid every month. They have been for the last 18 months but I get about three calls between the first of the month and the ninth of the month of when I pay wanting to know why I haven't made my payments yet. If you look at my payment history, it tells you exactly what day and how I pay. Harassing me is of no value other than it makes me madder than hell. And their customer service agents get the brunt of my deal when they call me for the third time wanting to know where my payment is. I haven't missed a mortgage payment for 30 years and the only reason they thought I was delinquent was due to their accounting errors.

So, I couldn't do anything until all that was taken care of. The reps at Nationstar were very nice but the closing took a very long time. It started in September and was closed in February. I was going from the option ARM which was lower. When I originally did it about 15 years ago, everybody said I was crazy because rates are gonna go up. But rates have been historically low, and so that's been great. I’ve had a really good run. But now, the interest rates are gonna move. And so, I was able to lock in 4% for 20 years. At one point I was paying three and a quarter, then three something. So, it went from three something to four, which is not too bad. I'd recommend Nationstar.

The lady was asking me for everything for my green card, for my driver's license, etc. I took pictures with my phone and sent them. I liked the way they do it now with the phone. That was awesome, too, that I was able to use my phone, texting all those pictures. The process went so fast and I did not think it was gonna be this fast. I'm happy about it because it worked out pretty good for me. My mortgage was gonna go up $100 more and it was gonna be to 5%. And it went down a half point with the refinance. So, it's 4.5% and I ended up paying $100 less. The refinance with Nationstar Mortgage was awesome. The people are always nice and kind, too.

So I called them, and after over half an hour on the phone with them, these were their conclusions:
1. A "supervisor" said maybe the post office made a mistake as we share the same last name, or 2. The previous company gave them the wrong address for me- even though they have the right one on file. Apparently everyone else is to blame but them... so for 1. Post office didn't make a mistake- NATIONSTAR addressed the letter in my name to my brother's address!! And for 2. My brother wasn't living at that address when I was with the previous company! And also, how come the previous company never sent me mail there?! Seems to me NATIONSTAR leaked MY information, possibly to people other than my brother as well, and does not want to OWN UP to it!! Way to earn my trust!

My loan got sold to Nationstar Mortgage and then I refinanced with them because they had a deal where there weren't as many closing fees as most other lenders had. I know mortgage lenders are kind of a headache, especially the bigger ones, but I never had that big of a problem with Nationstar during the refinancing. It was very easy and convenient.
Interactions with their mortgage professionals were also simple. They were answering the questions that I had and they didn't take up a lot of my time. We were able to do a lot of the refinancing process around my work schedule, which was hectic. Furthermore, I didn't have to physically take time out of work to visit their office and have to sit there doing what I'm not getting paid for. The guidance I received was very thorough. Their rep told me about the different refinancing options that I could go with and what the different benefits were, and he made it as simplistic as possible. Since refinancing with Nationstar, I have a lower interest rate and that helps.

I had a loan with Nationstar and I liked that I could deal with the refinance with them without doing an appraisal on the home. Everything was positive with their reps. I told them that I was interested in refinancing and I had already gotten some rates. And then, I received proposals of what Nationstar can do comparatively and it was a little bit more. It's a higher rate but it's fixed. I had an adjustable loan before. But ultimately, I decided to go with them because it was a lot easier and more streamlined. Everything was also pretty straightforward. I wanted rate information and closing cost. So, I was provided with numbers.
The only trouble I've had with the adjuster was I had to have proof of insurance for three months. And there was some difficulty in doing that. I paid insurance but the information that my insurer provided wasn't sufficient. So, there was some frustration on that. I just got a letter from Nationstar saying that my insurance had expired and that I need to show proof of insurance.

When the market crashed, we were unable to sell our house. Crime rate was horrible in our area and we were tired of someone trying to break into our home every other night. So, we decided to leave either way. Our mortgage was originally with someone else, and was sold to Nationstar Mortgage 1 year before we decided to leave. Home never went into foreclosure, but was purchased by Kwik Trip Company. They paid for everything that was due - no short sale and they paid off the remainder of our loan in its entirety. They were told, and us, that nothing was left to pay. We have documentation proving this.
We moved to a different town, and never received anything from Nationstar Mortgage. We are trying to purchase a home and can't because of Nationstar stating we have over 22 late payments - which is completely inaccurate. My husband called them and was told it was a short sale and we owed them over $5000. Again, documentation and Kwik Trip's lawyers, whom we have contacted and are willing to fight them in court, state we owed nothing and loan was paid in full. We have sent them this proof, but now it is like pulling teeth to get anyone from Nationstar to call us back. We need this removed from his credit.
I am a full-time student and have excellent credit, but I need to finish school. Thankfully, Kwik Trip's lawyers are ready to file some paperwork against this company to help us out and to help to get this removed from my husband's credit. What they are doing to us is actually completely illegal and our lawyers can prove it. We are giving them until end of next week - April 28th - to respond. If they don't, then we are taking this to the courts. This company is horrible and they are illegally trying to take advantage of us since our home did go to a sheriff's sale, which is where it was purchased by Kwik Trip... legal paperwork proves not a short sale and that we owed NOTHING!!! Even have documentation FROM Nationstar stating this exact information at time of sale. Bogus company!!!

Alison, hope you are well. I am going to look into your concern for you. I will keep you updated once we research your concerns. Thank you. ^Kalie

They service three of our loans. They adjusted one of our loans in July, 2016 upwards. Auto-pay paid the old amount, so the account was short by $149.40. Nationstar assessed $185.91 in late fees over the course of 9 months from a rolling late of $149.40. They said they tried to text and call. But we block Nationstar on text and call because they are so aggressive with marketing products and services to us that we do not need. But they never sent us a letter telling us of the shortfall.
Then, nine months later we received a certified letter from Nationstar with a pre-foreclosure letter. That letter cost Nationstar several dollars to send, yet they decided not to send us multiple letters at the time of the shortfall. So Nationstar is attempting to collect $185 in late fees on a $149 shortage from a client of 5-1/2 years that pays automatically every month on time. AND, they do it with all kinds of 'customer service kindness' without really caring.

We were thinking of refinancing, and thought about going with a different company thinking that would be the best alternative. But then, my husband thought about approaching Nationstar for help us, and try to get it in the same price-range or a little bit lower. So I called Nationstar and told them what we want to do. We mostly talked over the phone and just met during the actual signing down of the mortgage at the house. They conducted themselves professionally.
The one disadvantage was not being able to go through page-by page and trying to read all of it before we did the finished product. So, it would have probably given me a couple questions that I would have asked, but I didn't. There were not a whole lot of guidance given to us. Maybe it would have been better if we went to the office rather than we had them come to the house, because the lady who notarized it for us had to leave quickly. But I should have asked more questions and maybe the person would have been very knowledgeable and answered my question. But that's okay. We got a little bit lower and fixed rate. And I hope that I could stay with Nationstar and at the current interest rate.

This time unfortunately I had to deal with the following persons: Brenda in customer service who thinks she knows it all, she put me on hold for 27 minutes and not once came back to say sorry for the wait.
Then there was Michael in Escrow department who said even if he ran escrow analysis it will not reduce the monthly payment as I have surplus, which no one previously told me. Then the account manager Jerry came along, who said the system is set to auto generate to give me the funds I had sent. I have no choice! So now my money is stuck till I receive it back. Just because I made a phone call he out of spite is going to send the money back. Very bad customer service. Lack of communication within departments. No help to customer. It was like I don’t understand what this charge is for, or why is this number different, or if I add all these numbers in a column they don’t come up with the bottom numbers. They said things will change as they go through it. There were three or four different estimates given. But, when it was all said and done, it worked out great.
Updated review: April 29, 2017
I've updated my response by 1 star, to 2 stars only because, after uploading to the loss/draft site, a scathing letter about my dissatisfaction, it got into the right hands and my issue was resolved. The loss/draft funds held hostage in escrow for a month or so, were released, payable to me, which is what I had requested, twice. The scathing letter was one in which I threatened to pursue additional complaint actions, and to refinance my loan with another company, for no other reason than to get out from under Nationstar. I did get action, and I guess it holds true that the "squeaky wheel gets the oil" but this is not my preferred way of doing business. My intention right now is to remain with Nationstar and see this loan through. After shopping around I can attest that it is a bit of a futile effort given that almost all major Mortgage Loan Service Companies have similar reputations. Had this issue not been resolved with Nationstar, given the adversarial interactions, I would have moved on anyway and taken my chances with another firm, even if it cost me money and knowing that my loan could be sold right back to Nationstar. It's the principle of the matter. My advice remains the same, based on this experience, is to borrow none or as little as possible. Pay off your loan off as fast as you can. It seem obvious to me that the loan servicing business is highly profitable, minus any real service, despite very low loan interest rates. All is fine and dandy for the customer when you auto pay on time, watch your account closely, and don't require ANY service. Should you need service, that's when a company's colors truly show up. And, on a final, lighter note, just to close this out, the fed ex envelope I received from Nationstar was the loss/draft check I had hoped for, not a marketing ploy to sell me refinancing. Woo hoo.
Original Review: April 5, 2017
No regular contact from a loss representative as promised in their Loss/Draft procedures. Basically you have to proactively call them continuously and inquire about the status of the funds, required paperwork, and so on. When you dial their main number they make you listen to all their silly advertisements up front. Totally annoying. Hint: If you press "0" a hundred times while yelling "Agent" into the phone, their voice recognition super rep gets the hint. Their voice recognition does NOT recognize when you say "LOSS DRAFT" department. And, there is no number prominently display anywhere on their website. They have no email option, no chat, and no way to escalate anything.
They are EXCELLENT at sending official looking FEDEX envelopes to you with a page of loan sales material in there, but YOU have to pay a sizable amount to get something FEDEXed to you. Ridiculous. They, like I'm sure many mortgage companies, have laws to protect their interests and marry you to a contractor. But, if your contract fails you and liens are placed against your home, I'm sure you are on your own or referred back to your insurance company. Bottom line: It's just plain bad to borrow money from anyone, and especially from this company.
Home borrowers... if you have to take out a home loan, DO NOT just sign up with the mortgage company that a particular real estate agent recommends. Do your own homework. Pick a company that at least can provide some decent service and has some high scores on that front. Overall, I would not recommend this company because of this experience with a hail damage loss. Next time I get a mailer for a "refinance" I will take a second look. Only a second look, because of the mortgage industry's reputation in general, I'm not so sure there are better one's out there. Sad, but true. Best advice. Try not to ever borrow money if it can be avoided.

I was then told the next step is to have the house appraised because it had to be 80% under what it is appraised, not what I bought it for. Hmmm - maybe you should have told me that before I put the money down because now not only did I do that, I also have to pay for the appraisal that was done by someone Nationstar hires. Here is the kicker, I bought the house at the peak time of the market in 2005 so of course the house will not appraise for that amount I bought it for and due to this lack of information, I would have kept my money and completed the appraisal first.
I have put 23k into this house and have paid 20% down on the house to Nationstar so you would think being below 80% would be doable after paying for 12 years. I am a long time customer with no concerns or problems on my account but it is not true. Nationstar will not honor the fact I am well below the 20% on my house to take the PMI and ESCROW off my account. I now am told I have to pay another 26k down to get under 80%. How is that right? You buy a house for 113k and they are telling me I have to put 50% down before they will take the PMI and ESCROW off. Nationstar does not care about you, no matter if you are a long time customer and you have paid well over what you need to pay, they still want more money from you. The Escrow falls off next year so I honestly was okay with paying it down but still, they want 26k more!!! That seems crazy to me!
The customer service department just made things worse. They were nice but gave me all the wrong information which escalated some anxiety within me and when asked to be transferred to the department (ESCROW), I was told they can help me and did not need to be transferred. He put me on hold (maybe to see what to do with me) so I did finally hang up and called back and finally got transferred to the department I asked for.
I will say, I gave two stars instead of one because the people that helped me in the PMI and ESCROW department were very polite and nice. They obviously did not give me the information I wanted to hear but appeared genuine and apologetic. I was explained their process fully (granted that is after money has been put down and appraisal was completed) so I do understand their procedures but there is still something off for me to have to put 50% down from what I bought the house for to reach below 80%. It just doesn't match up to me. I am not satisfied.

Nationstar has been my mortgage provider for the last 10 years. My interactions with their representatives were great and the guidance they have given me was good. They had a lot of communication and were easy to deal with. They gave me different loans that were available to me and let me choose the best one. The representative laid out all the different terms, fees, and pay off time. Since refinancing with them, my monthly payments are lower. It was a great experience that took only 3 weeks from start to finish.

Back in 2014, Nationstar approached me about refinancing to lower my payments. I did this in October of 2014. My payments were lowered a couple of hundred dollars. In April of 2015, they raised my payment by $271 per month. Said it was an Escrow calculation. This was on a fixed loan. As I battled with Nationstar over this increase, I refused to pay an additional $271 per month without a valid reason. They said my taxes went up, but the county stated taxes only increased a few hundred dollars for the year. While in dispute, Nationstar kept dinging my credit. They refused to fix my credit even though I made a payment each month. To this day, they refused to fix my credit forcing me to hire an attorney. They have cost me literally thousands of dollars due to my lower credit score.

Nationstar Mortgage took over my mortgage from HSBC Bank. I then inquired about being able to refinance because my interest rate was high and the Feds were increasing interest rates. I dealt with an advisor at first who ran credit information and looked at the rates. I was given the options of paying points, no points, as well as what my closing fees and out-of-pocket expenses would be. Once we had decided which one I was going to go with, he then transferred me to another department who then facilitated the loan. They were extremely courteous, knowledgeable and understanding. They were also professional and were beyond timely. They told me that it could take anywhere from four to six weeks, but I got a phone call within three days and we closed the following week. So it was a very easy and great process.
From the time I contacted them to the time I closed, it took two weeks, and I went from a 30-year to a 15-year mortgage and I knew all my upfront costs. When looking at the amortization chart, they told me my break even point based on my interest rate now versus what it was changing and going to. So, we went over all the options of how much I'd be saving versus how much I'd be laying out, as well as the interest versus the principal payments. I had inquired with HSBC before about refinancing and it became very difficult for me because of how long it was going to take and the expense it was going to cost me. But once Nationstar took it over, I had peace of mind knowing I wasn't overpaying on my mortgage percentage rate.

With 20 years of banking experience I understand how beneficial this would be to them (and how terrible it would be for me), but even after asking to be left alone the barrage continues. They continue to try to sell me on something that would do nothing but cost me money and make them money, all the while telling me it is in my best interest. Our mortgage was sold to Nationstar from another lender two years ago. We refinanced and got a lower rate with them. We started our refinance process with another mortgage lender a year ago, but we quit midway because it was overwhelming. However, with Nationstar, they used the company called Greenlight and it has been super easy and there was no overwhelming feeling. There were maybe four times when we went to do the paperwork then a closer came and we were finished.
We had questions since we had never refinanced. I did a lot of research online and I found that what Nationstar was saying to me was congruent with my findings. Moreover, we never had any questions that they didn't answer for us. We got about 2% lower on our rate with a very low closing cost. Our monthly payment is lower by over $200 and we've made up our money in two months. However, when our mortgage got sold to Nationstar, I had a really negative experience. I got a bad person the first time I called and I was really sad about that. Nevertheless, we've not had problems since then. It has been easy to work with them and ask questions and pay our bill.

This has honestly been the most horrible experience for me. We got behind in our payments because of death and job loss over the last year. However, when we applied for our home modification last year they increased our payments by $1,100. We asked why our payments went up. The response was "it was how we filed the paperwork". I don't understand; didn't Nationstar Mortgage give us the application? Yes. So how did we mess it up? They refused to talk to me when I call and have some of the most irritating people that answer the phones. Fast forward we are now facing foreclosure. I called and asked for a reinstatement about and they couldn't tell me. Then I asked for a proper home modification application and they refuse to give me the papers.
They also have people coming to my door constantly asking dumb questions. For example, the last man came and asked how lived here. So I said, "please leave my property because this is illegal and you know it." Moreover, the rep. told me that we have other options but he can't tell me what they are. WHAT! I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall with these people. Also I got so frustrated that a VA rep. contacted us and volunteered to call Nationstar Mortgage with us to get some answer. She got so mad at them I honestly think that she was mind blown on how they refused to answer to her. All I can say is that I am tired of the stalling tactics and illegal works.
I honestly can say that they don't care about you and your family. All they want is money and even when you do that they are still not happy. Oh and let's not mention the fact that they never honored our 100% VA disability Homestead Escrow exemption that's given by the county clerk's office. Straight crocks. I wonder if the CEO knows what his company is doing to our veterans and their families? I think that I will write him/ her a letter!

I was surprised to find out Nationstar then took out a double mortgage payment for my first payment - Surprise!! It took them days to return this money to my account.
Today, was the only day I have called Nationstar since the previously mentioned first mortgage payment snafu. Calling starts with a lengthy infomercial that you are forced to listen to, in order to get the automated operator. My only question was removing the PMI on my mortgage. The first call resulted in being disconnected after holding for over 5 minutes. The second call that I have placed has me waiting over 30 minutes so far... Despite the infomercial about their "great website," there is no place to ask about PMI, or even the ability to ask a question and have someone call, or email you back.
You are better off starting a fire in your backyard and sending Nationstar smoke signals as a means of communicating than calling their phone line. At over 35 minutes on hold and no one answering, I need to go shave again..

I compared their closing cost and interest rates with other mortgages I've had and it looked good. I didn't have to check with anybody else. The process has been really easy because they have the e-docs. It’s the only mortgage I’ve ever had where I didn't have to go to a banker's office. The paperwork was just signed over on the emails. And then just at the very end, they had a notary public come over to my home. It was a minimal interaction but very streamlined. And it only took 3 weeks from the time they contacted me until the closing. Sometimes, that could be 3 months. Everything went really well and what I got was what I wanted from the start - a 15-year fixed rate. There's been a drop in my monthly payment and it was a very good experience.

Nationstar Mortgage will not give me a modification unless I stop making payments for 2 months, so they can say I have a hardship (this came from 3 different customer service reps). As a single retired senior with disability and no children, living alone in a small condo for 23 years, with a now high association fee of $154 whose only income from Social Security is $932, I already have a hardship! Why ruin my credit and lower my FICO score, giving them 2 months of penalties and interest?
They also don't get proper comparables, as I'm underwater, still owing close to $123,000 and my model condo barely selling at $50,000. They think it's worth $89,000 as of their most recent and 3rd denial letter, stating I earn enough to pay the mortgage. I know they can add my payment of $675 and fee of $154 leaving me a whopping $103 to pay my utilities, phone, etc. Why must they tamper with good customers this way?
In addition, although they took over for the defunct Aurora Loan Service, $27,000 was written off by Aurora (my proof by receiving 3rd-Party Collection notices) and I was assured it would be deducted from my modification in 2010. They did not deduct it, but sneaked it back into the loan, giving me only a few days to have it signed and back in their hands. Nationstar told me it wasn't their problem, just mine. They want me to default for 2 months before they consider me having a hardship, and won't look into the $27,000 that was to have been written off. I am going to file a complaint with the Consumer Fraud Bureau of our Attorney General's office.

My brother owned property in Florida and it was financed by another lender. My brother passed away in late 2015 and at the same time Nationstar purchased the loan from the prior lender. Immediately the problems began. Misapplied payments, refusal to recognize the order of the court as to the property securing the loan being now in the name of the estate, and the establishment of an escrow account (which was not authorized under the loan as acquired).
Nationstar then purchased flood insurance without consent on a single family basis, when the collateral was a condominium, fully covered by the common area flood and hazard insurance. Copies of the condominium insurance were provided, but Nationstar ignored and continued with the separate insurance, and charged to the loan balances. Several copies of the master insurance were sent and eventually Nationstar ceased demanding payments for the unnecessary insurance they purchased and did not credit the loan balances with the erroneous charges.
In 2017 the same scenario has occurred notwithstanding possession of the master policy showing coverage through the renewal date in mid-April of 2017, and again single interest flood insurance purchased at the expense of the mortgage debtor, notwithstanding provision of several additional copies of the Master Condominium insurance certificates. Nationstar still refuses, after receipt of a court order transferred ownership to me, to change the loan account to reflect that I am the owner of the collateral, and the party making the mortgage payments.
In summary I feel that Nationstar uniformly purchases single interest flood insurance for a profit basis to the lender. Clearly the customer service and fairness of Nationstar is substandard, and in all probability criminal. I would not recommend Nationstar for any mortgage matters and would caution all consumers to stay away from this unfair, deceptive, and unresponsive company.

First of it, Nationstar was never my original mortgage, unfortunately my first mortgage transferred my loan to Nationstar. My house got damage due to an electrical fire back in May of 2016. It is March of 2017 and still in the process of trying to get my money that the insurance paid me already but funds needed to be handle by Nationstar Mortgage. Nationstar disbursed the first check to the adjuster for 28,000 dollars back in September of 2016. At that time they never told me that the 28,000 will be consider as part of the initial payment towards the repair of my house. Needless to say that I'd constantly told them, "Keep in mind that the first disbursement is to pay the adjuster." Nationstar representatives keep telling me, "Yes, we have it in our records and don't worry." Well, it is time for repairs to start and it is going to cost 141,000 dollars. Now Nationstar is telling me that they will disburse a check for 11,000 to the contractor to start work. That was an insult!!!
Worst of all, Nationstar won't release the rest of my money until 50% of repairs are complete. I'm stuck with no money, doing monthly mortgage payments on time for a house that is empty. I understand protocols that we need to follow but this is by far that worst excuse for a mortgage company to abuse their power so that they can profitable themselves without having any concerns for their reputation and credibility as a company. My lawyer is already starting process to take care this issue. I felt that it was really important to report this, so that they don't keep doing this to other people like me. Other important problem that Nationstar has is their customer service, the lack of knowledge and sensitivity. Their inconsistency when given information is a disgrace.

Nationstar seemed a lot friendly than other lenders. The interest rates they offered led me to inquire about refinancing my old mortgage. I received fairly good guidance when discussing my refinancing option with them. Going into it, there were some things that I was skeptical about. It wasn't explained well enough as I would like it to have been.
Also, I didn't like that they didn't offer a lot of payment options. My wife and I were looking at paying bi-monthly as opposed to once per month. That's how I like to do my bills because you manage money better that way. Nationstar shied away from that and I was concerned. Nevertheless, I've been saving money since refinancing my loan with them and I've had a pleasant experience.

Nationstar Mortgage began contacting me months after they acquired my mortgage. I talked with them on the phone back in the fall but told them I wasn't ready to make a decision. But shortly after Kelly, who ended up being the agent that I worked with, happened to contact me one afternoon. I spoke with her and explained that I wasn't interested in any kind of non-fixed loan and she worked well with me. She was very familiar with several options that I asked her about interest rates, terms and different ways to refinance. She answered all my questions satisfactorily.
After I started moving forward, I worked with Paul with the document process, which, being electronic, was easy. He was very proficient as well. They sent someone out to my house to do the notary when it was time to sign the paperwork so it was easier than I expected it was going to be. But on that day, Saturday, there was some missing paperwork. But even then, Paul responded quickly that he was working on it and he was able to get the information to the notary so the rep could have the actual paperwork when she arrived. It was smooth and an efficient process to complete.
So as far as long-term financial goals, it'll get me out of the mortgage that much sooner. It took about four years off of my existing loan. And with the fact that it doesn't have any type of early payoff, I have some plans to try to contribute additional money to pay it off even a bit earlier than that, which will save me more interest. It's around $75 more than my original mortgage and it is a shorter term so it was a no-brainer.

To my surprise, they used my escrow funds and applied it to my closing costs! My closing documents clearly state that I would be refunded this amount. I paid these funds over the course of 10 months thinking they would be used on my insurance and property taxes. My closing costs would have added $6 or $7 to my monthly payment but now I have to come up with $1,100 to fund my escrow shortage. I'm not sure if this is even legal. Who in their right mind would apply escrow funds to closing costs? You pay escrow over 12 months and closing costs are paid over 30 years. I have called and spoken with 6 different people and I get a different answer from each one. Please beware!! I even referred 2 people to this company because the process was so quick. It was my first time ever refinancing because this is my first home that I bought, so he made sure he walked me through the whole process. For the most part, it was good. However, the rep that I dealt after he did his portion was not a people person. She’s very rigid and if I'm trying to ask her a question to try to understand, she wasn’t very detailed. She really couldn’t come across and get me warm and fuzzy at all. So I would never want to deal with her again.
When I didn’t get what I needed from her, I referred back to Robert and he would find out the information that I needed, as well as his supervisor. In fact, his supervisor contacted me and my husband just to make sure that everything was okay. Finally, I was able to get a lower mortgage. So, I was pleased because I was able to get what I needed in the end. I would definitely recommend Nationstar Mortgage.

People who left great feedback for this lying, thieving company, you're in for a rude awakening! Their loan writer falsified our application and they stole my mother's home of 58 yrs and she was 89 yrs old! They foreclosed even when our payments were current! After 6 months I discovered the falsification and called them about it and the guy said, "Oh no, you just opened up a serious can of worms"! Next thing they sent a statement and they raised our payment to $4000.00 a month. Then a week later foreclosure papers!!! The house appraised for $590,000 and these greedy, rotten bastards only sold the house for $321,000! They deserved that! Beware, they will get you!

Thanks for taking the time to informing us of the issue regarding your mother's home. Please reply with your mother's full name and property zip code so we can locate her account in order to research your concerns further and provide a resolution. –Nationstar Customer Relations Team

They were so efficient and the reps were very quick about it. Also, they were friendly and very explicit about what to do, so they were very clear. The lady that came over was great for doing the title work and closing. I was very surprised and had no idea I could get it done in two weeks. It was a wonderful experience.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar. To be clear, there have been no problems with them accepting my payments and posting them. However, they try to get you to refinance constantly via email, phone, USPS, UPS, etc. They go as far as sending overnight type envelopes via UPS. I've tried to unsubscribe from their emails, but they keep coming. There is no way to contact them except US mail or phone. I called once and asked about rates. The rates are MUCH higher than what I have today. Certainly they know what rate I have now as they hold my mortgage. So, they are wasting their time and money and aggravating me for no reason.

The interest on my loan was on an adjustable and I wanted to get that set before the rates started climbing up. I have a couple of loans with Nationstar. I worked with them in the past and they had the information on me already, which made refinancing easier. The guy that I worked and his assistant were perfect and our interactions were great. They gave me a lot of different refinancing options and told me which one they thought might be the best. The biggest problem, however, was the hassle of getting their loan package together being that I am self-employed. It makes it hard to get a loan. But we worked it out. They were nice and I liked them. They checked in with me all the time too. Nationstar has good customer service and they were able to lower my payment.

When we built our new home, our original mortgage company sold our loan to Nationstar Mortgage. During that year, we had issues with them paying the escrow and insurance, which is part of their service and supposedly included in payment. We refinanced with them, & 2 months ago our payments increased by almost $400/month w/out any warning or contact by Nationstar; since we were on auto debit they just pulled our money from our account w/out letting us know of any issues or increase. In fact, we had just received 2 emails (1 escrow, 1 insurance) that stated they'd paid both and there were "no issues". I've called several times; first call, employee refused to allow me to speak to a manager and refused to give his name.
After subsequent calls, employee promised that I'd be contacted within a week by management and they had launched an investigation about the issue (both escrow & insurance). After 2 weeks and no phone call/correspondence, I called again and learned that no investigation had been filed/notated on my account. I've been "promised" a phone call by a manager within 2 business days and they "promised" that they canceled our auto payment (their website has been not accessible all day). BBB shows over 2,250 complaints & BBB posted a notice stating that it is monitoring Nationstar due to the recent number and similarity of complaints against the company (recommend that you visit BBB's website for details). We've never been more regretful about going into business with any company, especially since it's our home. This company has not done a single thing to rectify our situation or even attempt to communicate with us.

The rates appeared to be going up so we refinanced our mortgage. We chose to do it with Nationstar because we figured that it would be easier since they already had our mortgage. We talked back and forth with them and went through with the refinance. The guy just told us how it would go. But we now wish that we had looked around because we've paid a higher closing cost than we should have. We got a mail a week ago, saying they sold our mortgage to Fannie Mae. It said nothing would change and we still paid Nationstar. But we don't really understand what getting purchased by Fannie Mae meant. The payments are lower, but it's because we paid off a large chunk of it.

I felt like we were paying too much and everybody was talking about the rate they got after refinancing. The rates were down and it just seemed to make sense. I had already been considering it and then all of a sudden, someone from Nationstar called me up and said that they can get me a better rate so we did it. We worked with a few people. The guy who initiated everything took our information, got me a quote and did everything. We had the chance to sit down and discuss it and he outlined all of our options. Then, another lady called to tell us they're gonna finalize everything and we went through all that. That whole portion of it was awesome. They were very knowledgeable and I liked talking to them about all the options that we had.
But the process wasn't as smooth as I would have liked it. There was some escrow that was owed to us and then we overpaid on the original closing cost so, Nationstar has owed us money for almost two months now. We've gone back and forth trying to collect that and it's been really frustrating. My wife sent an email and we haven't received a response yet. But we got the escrow back so, it was weird. They said they were gonna send me a check for the overpayment and then all of a sudden, we got two checks for the escrow. So, it's been a bitter-sweet experience. On one hand, we got a great rate and we got some help getting that great rate. But on the other hand, we overpaid and now, nobody wants to pay us back.

Unfortunately my loan was sold to this loan servicing company passing itself off as a mortgage company. I had a reputable mortgage company that unfortunately fell prey to government intervention over the past 8 years and never chose this company. When Nationstar took over my loan, there were late fees due to their lack of collecting all payments from the prior company that they issued on my credit along with threatening letters. Finally things were straightened out and I should have gone with my gut to refinance with a real mortgage company before my house was flooded this past August. My flood insurance is paid by me, not escrowed. Since I have a "mortgage" with this loan servicing company, my check was made out from the flood insurance to me, my husband and Nationstar.
I contacted Nationstar and was told to endorse the check for $43,850.00+ and overnight it to them. I was told that since the check was over $40,000.00 that they would send me a check for $40,000.00 and that they would send me the remaining balance in 2 separate checks dividing the remaining of the balance. One would be when I was 50% completed and the 2nd at completion. I was told that I needed a contractor for the amount over $40,000.00 and we already had one. I obtained all the required information. Nationstar cashed my check and have not provided me with any of my money. They are not happy that my contractor put that I owe a zero balance since I have paid with my personal funds. Nationstar would not acknowledge the adjuster from Colonial Claims that was sent out by Wright Flood Insurance Company.
My husband and I call their draft claims department and we have to request an American English speaking person because all of their calls including customer service is sent to a foreign entity who cannot even take a return phone number correctly. Now every time we call, their system is updating and/or no one can find our account number. Every tactic is delay, delay, delay. I have been through the nightmare of flooding and thought I was lucky because I chose to have insurance. Everything was going smoothly until Nationstar was brought into the picture.
This company wastes so much money on repeated phone calls for me to refinance and wasted money on sending copious amounts of mail including duplicate letters FedExed to refinance. I would not sign my name to anything this dishonest and now I'm wondering if possible criminal behavior this company seems to displaying. I am considering hiring an attorney and also reporting this to my Attorney General. I just want the insurance money that I paid for. I hate this company and as soon as I have my house finished will be looking to refinance with someone much more reputable.

Obtaining the mortgage was a breeze, doing anything beyond making your monthly payment, has not been. The following is a basic customer service nightmare: Call, get put on hold (20 minutes), get thru to the right department, get told you'll receive the form necessary to complete your request, wait a week and get nothing, call again and get put on hold (20 minutes), get hung up on, call back, wait on hold again (10 minutes), get in touch with the necessary department, request the form you've previously asked for, demand to stay on hold until it's in your inbox (7 minutes).
Now all that's left is to send in the form, wait for the assessor to call and schedule an assessment (which I must pay for), and wait for them to drag their feet and charge me PMI in the meantime. A related incident: I paid an additional premium payment to get to below 80% LTV so that I could remove PMI. They marked it as a normal payment meaning they pulled out an additional interest and escrow payment. This I was able to correct via email but still required time.

I had refinanced through them in 2015 and in a blink of an eye, it was complete. Great experience. In July 2015 I needed a pre-approval as we were moving to another state. No problem, they gave me one. As soon as my home sold and I was purchasing a new home, I called Nationstar to start processing a new mortgage. This is in late Oct. 2016. We ended up paying cash for our new home but I still wanted a small mortgage through Nationstar.
I was assigned a loan originator and he was quite aggressive about getting the paperwork going. I had no problem complying even though we had just moved in our new home. I appreciated his attentiveness to our request. Upon receiving the requested papers, we were assured that the loan would be no problem and they would continue. Now we get assigned a closing coordinator and as soon as she steps in we have one problem after another. She is never available, she doesn't seem to even understand what she is asking us for, she doesn't get back to us. She continually has gone back and forth bouncing from issue to issue and it has been going on forever. This is February 1, 2017 and I still don't have completed loan papers. I had some frustrating experiences with people who said that they'll give me a loan and when they look at my portfolio, they then said I don't have enough.
But Nationstar seemed to be a very personal company, not a huge corporation. They looked at my payment history and I have two loans with them and I felt like they were wonderful to work with. I've never had an easier loan to go through. I'm very happy. I paid 1.87 points so that was my only gasp as I've never paid that many points to get a loan before. But I wanted to refinance this loan and will recoup the cost in three or four years because the interest rate drops significantly. That’s the main benefit I got. On Dec 1 we were one month behind and owed $2800. We gave them 1/2 the money. On 12/25 they have now sent that check back to us. We had sent another payment 1/19. They want us to stop the payment and now wire them $6100. We have no idea of the breakdown for these charges. Called Monday 1/23. We were not allowed to talk to a supervisor. On top of that we couldn't talk to anyone on Tuesday, had to wait till Wednesday. Note business hrs are Monday thru Friday. Why can't you talk to someone on Tuesday?
They need to be reported to the attorney general's office and possible the federal government as they do government loans. Very hard to understand them as they all speak broken English. They are horrible people who do not even want to try and work something else. If you take our house you will never get what is owed on it as we bought is right before the housing market crashed and paid way too much tax value. Today is nothing compared to what is owed.

We're so sorry to hear you've had to go through the stress of identity theft. We've completed a review of your account and provided an update privately to further assist with the payment processing issue. -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

Bank of America switched my loan over to Nationstar. I refinanced mainly because the interest rate dropped along with the monthly mortgage payments, which definitely helps us out a lot. The loan officers were very professional, helpful, answered every question that I had and were able to walk me through the process. The wisdom and knowledge were important and I was able to get everything answered in a timely manner which was definitely a good thing for us.

My mortgage was with Chase before and Nationstar took over it so I figured it would be easy just to have Nationstar refinance it versus trying to go somewhere brand new. I had a great experience with their consultants. My payments are the same but I pay off my house six years earlier. Everything was smooth and easy. I would recommend them.

The loan that we had with CitiCorp was sold to Nationstar, which then contacted us to refinance because we were on an ARM and we needed to get off it and get on a fixed loan. Everyone that we talked to - from the first gentleman that we talked to on the phone, the woman that was in charge of it after that, and then the guy that came and signed the papers - were very good experiences. They were very professional and I was impressed. When our options were being discussed to us my husband did most of the negotiating or talking, and I had to okay everything as they were talking but it went smoothly.

I came from GMAC Mortgage, had two mortgages with them, and they were absolutely awful and atrocious. I've been with Nationstar for about five years and I love them. One, I appreciate the fact that they're a mortgage servicing company that is not just in the business of originating loans and then selling them off to the highest bidder. Back to 2008, that practice is what put us in that exact catastrophe.
Two, the service is pretty good. I had a recent experience where I refinanced both of my loans with them before the interest rate started to increase. Their subsidiary, Greenlight Loans, was super responsive, really helpful, got me some additional discounts on some of the closing costs, and made it 100% cost neutral to me from an out-of-pocket expense standpoint. The refinance went smooth and I haven't leveraged any big service since then. I logged in yesterday, saw both of my new accounts, and have set up my new auto pay. I didn't have to stop my old auto pay when my old account closed out. It's a real simple and smooth transition process. Customer service is the focus of the business and it's clear. Nationstar is a fantastic mortgage company and I would not consider leaving them anytime soon.
