We were in a position where we wanted to do some cosmetic type of things for the house, so we started looking to see what our options were, and also maybe get some of the equity out of our house ‘cause we know the markets have gone up since we bought our house. Mr. Cooper took over our loan so we started getting communications from them. Anytime we had questions and reached out to someone, we always got a very timely response. They made the process very easy. We definitely had all of our options, and we didn’t feel like there was maybe something else out there that we weren’t taking advantage of that would make more sense for us. We haven’t made a payment yet, but getting some of the equity out and at our closing, we have been able to use that to upgrade some of our appliances and do things like that.

I found the refinancing process easy, with the exception of having go through the disclosure process too many times - not sure why so many times if already done once. Other than that the process was timely and within the expected time I wanted to complete the refinance. I would have also preferred a better rate :).

My mortgage was transferred from HSBC to Nationstar to "Friendly, happy, local Mr. Cooper!!" I was going thru a very difficult process, as my husband had just passed away unexpectedly & tragically, 10 months after my Mom passed away. When they first contacted me, they needed some paperwork from the condo board where I live. Then I received a 2nd request. Now, I know the info they wanted was sent by the woman at my condo because she sent me a confirmation of the fax. I received a letter which appeared to be a third request. It was the same exact letter but the info they wanted now was on my private condo insurance, but it wasn't clearly spelled out. So, Mr. Cooper took it upon themselves to buy a $350. condo ins. plan which raised my mortgage and screwed with my escrow, NOT TO MENTION THAT I DID NOT NEED IT!!

IT TOOK 5 PHONE CALLS AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY MESSAGES TO HAVE THAT FIXED. THEN... despite the fact that they were told that my husband passed away, and I filled out an affiliation form, I got my taxes with my husband's name and SS#. I had to request them in mine, but when I did.. they refused to take my husband's name off, so my bill & tax documents have my name and THE ESTATE OF... I have explained numerous times that the house is mine (as the co-borrower) & NOT PART OF MY HUSBAND'S ESTATE. SO FAR I HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE WITH GETTING HIS NAME OFF THE DOCUMENTS. I have gotten documents with the complete wrong mortgage ID #.

No one at the company, even the supervisor, could figure out that one out (???). ALSO... I have NEVER PAID this account late, except when I buried my mother (10 months prior to my husband's death). BUT.. they insisted on calling me on the 10th until I threatened them. Now I get letters sent out on the 10th, by the time I receive them, the bill is paid. They must love wasting money. I have owned 2 houses in my life, my mortgages have been bought and sold many times.. I HAVE NEVER, EVER HAD A MORE PATHETIC, MORONIC BUNCH OF PEOPLE HANDLING ONE OF MY BIGGEST ASSETS.

I would give them a minus star if I could. Do NOT under any circumstances, allow this company to hold the mortgage to your home... you will REGRET IT!! IF THIS BY CHANCE SPURS THEM TO CONTACT ME, THEY BETTER HAVE FIGURED OUT THAT The Estate of... should be taken off my paperwork, as I am now the sole owner of this house!

I had an account with Nationstar and then they became Mr. Cooper. They contacted me and asked me, I asked a few questions, and then we refinanced our old mortgage. I tend to stay with relationships as long as they're good to me. There was a hiccup here and there and Mr. Cooper took care of it. The rep was professional. I was a bit hesitant 'coz I wanna get my mortgage paid off. The rep discussed different options and came upon one that would be much more beneficial and would get me paid off faster if I stick to my plan by paying off all those high credit cards. I've been slowly doing that as we went along and we got the credit card debts all gone now. So, as long as I can keep my wife from using the credit cards, we will be just fine. I would recommend Mr. Cooper. Since the overall payment is down, refinancing our loan with Mr. Cooper makes life a bit easier when emergencies come up.

I have submitted all the paperwork and they said that it was approved and then all of a sudden they kept on calling me and told us that they need more paperwork. So we spent over $80 sending them the paperwork then after they receive that they said they will give me an appraisal. So we spend another $495 on the appraisal and then all sudden they said they ran into more problems and I have said, "Can you give me my money back on the appraisal?" They that they couldn't because it wasn't refundable and now I'm alone wasn't approved. They sent more problems. I talk to Joe ** on this matter and he said again that was approved but they were waiting for more paperwork. It's been over a month now so I told him, "Just forget it. I want to cancel my loan."

Do whatever you can to not work with this company! Our home loan was sold to them and ever since we have had nothing but issues. We are in the process of doing everything we can to get our mortgage refinanced with another lender. After doing my research into this company I discovered they have had a class action lawsuit in which they were ordered to pay $12.1 million. I also found 7231 bad reviews online about this company and how corrupt they are. We have been trying to get to the bottom of all these issues but have had no resolution or help with any of their employees or managers. They will increase your mortgage payment, not notify you and then apply late fees without any notification. They will then take your mortgage payments and apply them to the late fees so that you are not current in your payments. We are filing complaints against Mr. Cooper with the BBB and the Attorney General's office.

Our refinancing experience with Mr. Cooper was fine for the most part. My interaction with the reps was fine too. It's what you would expect from people who are doing their job and working for a mortgage company. However, there was a mistake that was made at one point. They misfiled some of the paperwork and that had to be filed 12 days in advance to the closing so that set us back. Nevertheless, the refi went through and I was able to accomplish the things that were the goals for the refinance.

Our mortgage was sold to Nationstar mid 2016. At the time we had owed around 9k. My old company was bought out and I received 11k. Immediately transferred The money only to later find out that our loan have been sold from Bank of America to Nationstar. When we got documentation from Nationstar we were shown to be behind 9k. When I reached out to Nationstar they told me to apply for a loan modification. This was September 2016. Unfortunately I was laid off from my job October 2016. I called in to let Nationstar know and was quickly coached not to mention it fearing I would lose the modification I've been approved for. Needless to say May 2017 we were a few months behind. I got a loan modification package quickly submitted the documents only to have them request more documents.

The middle of June 2017 our local sheriff quietly brought us foreclosure notice. We were stressed out. I called in and was told again they needed more documentation. This went on from June to August them requesting more and more documents. Finally around the middle of August 2017 I called one morning, as usual, to get a status on the modification. I was told I was approved for a loan modification and my package would be mailed out within the next two weeks, the representative went as far as to give me the estimates of my new monthly payment. Needless to say my wife and I were relieved. We paid some bills with the money we had saved and look for the package.

About a week after that call I received a letter in the mail telling me I have been approved for a forbearance plan. But the forbearance was for twice the amount of my normal mortgage payment? I called in, and was immediately transferred to someone in the customer service department who informed me I didn't qualify for a loan modification, he also refused to look up the details and when is far to tell me that I shouldn't be living there if I can't afford it and that I didn't even have a forbearance plan? I got off the phone that day destroyed. We have three children and although we had some issues with our finances we were at Nationstar beckon call for anything they needed even if it was the same document they ask for the week before. So then the fight began.

I started calling to figure out why my loan modification was gone. I took notes every day of the phone calls in the details. Some days it was like I've never would get a real answer and some days I would be lucky enough to get with a representative who would try to find out. Finally somebody track down the notes on my account verifying of the verbal loan modification from August. She gave me customer service email. I submitted along documentation asking them to review only to be informed a week later that it must be a physical copy. I got in touch with my local housing and unfortunately received little to no help at all. I would receive loan modification packets and quickly send in the information only to be told I didn't qualify for a loan modification.

Some Representatives informed me I had an FHA loan. I spent a few days contacting FHA only to find out it was not an FHA loan. Some days I was told I did not qualify because I had recently had a modification. So I went back through my modification of 2016. The document never mentioned only being able to do one loan modification. In fact I discovered that I had a Department of Agriculture loan which qualified to have more than one loan modification. I wrote letters. I contacted different departments and was consistently told different things finally to be told I needed to register a complaint.

In 2017 I was contacted by customer service and informed that my account was being reconsidered for a loan modification and that I needed to send them some documents to finish out the process. Again my wife and I were excited after a long battle. A week later we were informed that we no longer qualify for a loan modification? And to top that off I was being told that there was no more forbearance plan. And as far as the letter I had submitted I received a reply which had all of Nationstar replies without any of my input. But it was clear that whoever did the report did not research the notes in my account. The beginning of October I randomly logged into my Mr. Cooper account to find that I was in Step 2 of the 4 required for a loan modification. I called and asked to which they said they needed the documentation when I questioned being the nine previously they told me something must have changed.

I can't even begin to explain to you but all of this took on my family and I. Anyways, turned out we were denied for that loan modification that we never applied for but the for parents' plan magically appeared up on my account again. We were forced to sign a paper that doubled our mortgage $3,100 a month. This began in November and we paid through February. Only to find out that we were late and our payment had posted on the 3rd or 4th of the month instead of the first. Which meant, our forbearance plan was canceled. I cannot even begin to tell you how many hours I've dedicated to answering all of their questions having them lie to me and having no power to do anything about it. I never threatened to sue or get an attorney etc.

So here we are May 1st 2018 and I'm in the middle of having to send pay stubs that I sent last week with a foreclosure date of May 19th. The sad part is May 2017 we owed about $7,000 and Nationstar quickly said I qualify for a loan modification. I can't help but think if they had been honest with me at that moment we could have sucked it up borrowed the money from my parents and would have been in good standing. But I believed them, I believe when they told me I qualified, I believe when they told me they only needed a few documents, I believed when they told me I was approved in August of 2017 for a loan modification. But here we are here later facing us suppose it foreclosure and I have nothing I can do about it. Whatever happens to us, I know this is long but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this.

Mr. Cooper bought our loan from another company. It was one of those bundling deals where whoever had our loan sold it off to somebody else. Our house is 15 years old and we wanted to do some remodeling. We had some equity in the house and it was okay to do a second mortgage or refinance, so we did it. We contacted Mr. Cooper and they had the best rate, and they already had our note on our house. Our interactions with the reps have been excellent. They've been very good, easy to work with, and upfront. When they told me that they were gonna do something, they did it. Mr. Cooper was competitive on rates and they got us the rate that we wanted. I would tell friends that they're great people to work with and we're very pleased with them.

I fell behind of my mortgage by 5 months. So I called them about making 1 lump payment to reinstate the mortgage and they don't want your money. I believe this company would rather have the house. I owed a past due amount of $10,146. So I figured there would be late fees to go on that. I was guessing maybe $1-2K, not even close. We called and they want an additional $8,300 for late fees and lawyer fees. Can someone tell me if this is legal for them to do. How can anyone get caught up when they bend you over and add thousands on to a loan. I would love to sue them for screwing people over. I have had multiple homes and mortgages with different companies and "Mr. Cooper" is a complete joke and a rip off company. My wife, 2 kids, and myself are probably going to lose our house because I can’t come up with an additional $8k. Thank you Mr. Cooper.

It all began when I called up Mr.Cooper to get some other information. I changed insurance companies for my home insurance. I called to ask on my Mr.Cooper loan and if it had been settled that they were getting that information and that they would be covering my homeowner's insurance. Then I had this letter that talked about TARP and I said to Ricardo, “What is this anyway?”

I had a wonderful experience refinancing my house. Ricardo was kind and fantastic. I’m 82 years old and I’m not very familiar with doing things on my phone. It’s all too much for me. I started to fill out the form on my phone but it was so long, I gave up. But he helped me and walked me through it so patiently. It was very easy, but it took a long time. I ended up having my home refinanced and it only took about two and a half hours. After he did all the beginning work, he transferred me to his assistant Elvis, who was a processor. Elvis was also very good. My daughter was a manager at Western Title. When I told her about it her jaw dropped and she said, “What?” She looked all the figures over and said that it was very good and within the price range of what they would’ve charged at Western Title. I would recommend Mr. Cooper.

I was getting less money so I had to refinance so I could pay a lower monthly fee. And since Mr. Cooper had my mortgage, I tried with them first and they said they would do that for me. I got my first statement from them and my first payment will be on the 5th of next month. Ever since they took over my mortgage, they take out my monthly payment out of the bank.

But every once in a while, I get a letter from them too that they're not able to negotiate the automatic payment which they are doing over the time they took my mortgage so I don't know how to go about it now. I filled out an authorization form they sent me to deduct my payments from my bank. When I sent it in, I didn't send a voided check and I did it and sent back the check but I didn't hear anything since then. I am waiting for them to tell me if they received it and what the situation is. And it's been a week since I mailed it out to them. For the short time I have Mr. Cooper, I had more problems with them and it's a big difference because I never had all these problems with Citibank. I have had Mr. Cooper, originally named Nationstar, for five years and I've had good service. I kept getting phone calls from everybody, asking if I wanted to refinance and saying that I can get rid of my PMI. I was interested and curious, so I followed that route. At first, I dealt with another company and I thought that they sounded too good to be true and that was what it ended up being. And there was one of those things where I had to keep looking for them. Finally, my husband said, "Why are you going through all this? Just go back to Mr. Cooper and see if they could help us." And, bang, that was the solution. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get rid of the PMI, but I was able to pay off several debts, which was helpful.

My interactions with their reps were very professionally done. They took care of the important steps in an appropriate manner and I faxed them the documents they needed. It was a quick and fast process. They gave sound information, especially based on the market and I knew that that was my best choice. They have a very good staff and I found the whole experience to be rewarding. When I called, boom, they would turn around and call me back immediately. I'd hear from them within 24 hours.

By being able to pay several debts, I've been able to get my finances in order. Now I feel like we have a good system. My husband's paycheck doesn't go directly towards paying the mortgage and we're ahead of the game now, which really relieved a lot of the stress I was going through. I recommended them to my daughter and she talked to somebody. But in her situation, she needs to wait a couple of years longer so that the neighborhood catches up with her home or her home catches up with the neighborhood. I'd tell friends that if they want to get something done right away and in a professional manner, I would recommend going with Mr. Cooper.

After making all of my modified payments for 10 months instead of the contracted 4 months, Nationstar, who has since changed names to Mr. Cooper to distance themselves from their bad conduct, chose not to honor the modification, then sent letters saying I was in default for the entire 10 months I was paying the lowered payments the signed contract legally allowed me to, put me into foreclosure if I didn't come up with the difference which was tens of thousands and took my house away. Don't let the name fool you, they're a big bank who will lie and not honor their word and steal your house the first chance they can. If they did it to me then you're not any different. If you don't want to gamble on losing your home, finance elsewhere.

On my current home, Bank of America sold my loan to Nationstar, now Mr. Cooper and I make sure I decline any offers they have - bait and switch. Once they got you hooked on any payment lower they'll turn around not offer, default and take your house away. More recently last month my interest rate adjusted up, increasing my payment nearly $200 - a big hardship. They won't help unless I refinance into a whole new loan which is not something I am willing to risk, and as soon as my credit is good enough I will refinance with another company so I can have peace of mind my home will be safe from stealing again, considering they didn't honor the terms and I was a little guy who couldn't afford to take a big company to court for justice.

They told me they would put the next three payments on the back of my loan, and I could start payments again on the third month. Two months into this “program”, I got a pre-foreclosure notice from them. Apparently the “Hurricane Forbearance” program was not followed through on their end, and now I had to make 3 additional payments to correct the deficit, which I did. Well today I received a “loan modification” package from them (?).

So, my loan which I’ve paid for 10 years has now been reset to 40 years. At more than the original loan we took out ten years ago. My ten years of equity are apparently wiped out & now I will have to pay Mr. Cooper nearly 10K more than the original loan just to keep my home, and my payments will now last until I am 94. Wow. I am a veteran of the US Army & a college graduate professional- I never thought a bunch of crooks at a faceless bank would be able to steal my home, my equity, my security...is this even America anymore? I don’t even know where to turn at this point. We had our mortgage at first with Bank of America. It was sold immediately to Nationstar in 2011. I was laid off from my job in March 2014. I contacted Nationstar and told them that I needed a Loan Modification. They said they gave one and it was more than my original payment. We continued to talk with them to no avail. In 2016 they started foreclosure proceedings and we contacted a company called The Westwood Legal who said they could help us not to be foreclosed on. They charged us $3,500.

In June 2017, we received an Assignment of Mortgage/Deed of Trust from West Holdings and Acquisitions that said we needed to go get our signature notarized and file with our county clerk's office. Then they said we needed to start making payments to them of $982.72 month beginning in July 2017. We did everything they asked thinking this was a legitimate company and then in January 10, 2018 our house was sold.

We contacted Nationstar to no avail and explained that we had been scammed and they pretended they were going to help us, but they did absolutely nothing to help us matter of fact we are now homeless and an Arab has been allowed to move in our house and at this time I am not sure if he has really closed on the property. He did not close within the 30 days listed on The Master Commissioner site and yet if it had been us, we would have had to forfeit our down payment. Seems that this company may been in on the scam we have experienced. You may ask what Nationstar can do to help, well, get my home back and provide me with monetary damages from the suffering our family is experiencing from no home and being in a motel.

We worked with Ong ** who supposedly was working for us and she did absolutely nothing. She turned us over to a Jared ** with HH Law and he did nothing for us but work for the purchaser and we feel that we should be allowed to have our home back or a better one at the expense of Nationstar. We are in the process of getting legal representation and will file a formal suit against all parties involved in this illegal transaction. If we understand correctly the title is clouded and the purchaser can't get a clear title anyway. We would ask your immediate attention to this matter as we are homeless and cannot find suitable housing.

By the way just so you know my wife and daughter are both disabled and this is really unfair that two disabled people have been thrown out of their home to let an ** and his family move in. Where is justice for the Americans in the USA? Do we just have to give our belongings to anyone from another country now that wants it. By the way it is speculated that this man that purchased the home is working with West H & A and that he may even sell the home and that he bought it for $90,000 more than what was owing on it. Very unlikely that Jerad ** even ask him to take a settlement since we were scammed. All involved should lose their jobs immediately. I expect housing at the expense of Nationstar within 5 business days. We want our home back ASAP.

Too many times things were on my closing disclosure that I either had to dispute or have explained to me. One of the first things I was told at the beginning of the loan process is that "my appraisal fee would be taken care of" something to that effect. To me, that means that you will be paying it, period, and that I wouldn't have to pay the appraisal fee. The fact that I had to reimburse you for the appraisal was never mentioned during the first conversation. Typical salesperson jargon. "Hey, we will pay your appraisal fee". Yes you paid for it but I have to reimburse you for it. BS!

I was quoted a rate based on 80% loan-to-value. My appraisal came in where the loan was exactly 80% loan-to-value. Later I was told the loan costs would be an additional $4000-$5000 because I was over 75% loan to value. WTF! That was never mentioned until later. The loan manager was able to get a waiver, like it was a big favor for me. BS! Typical bait and switch. Get me into the process and give me the bad news later!

I was with Nationstar and when it was bought up by Mr. Cooper, my mortgage got sold to them. I then called Mr. Cooper about another issue and they connected me to a refinancing specialist. His name was Jessie and he was wonderful. I told him that we don't need to go any further because I have no work for almost five years. But he insisted that we look into refinancing my old mortgage, so we did and he was able to make it happen. Jessie explained to me that if I do nothing different than what I was doing before, I can have it paid off in six years. That was encouraging to me.

However, I have been getting information from mortgage protection groups that they want to sell me a mortgage insurance. What bothered me is it says the lender Nationstar has the amount I loaned But it didn't have my name on it. And I've been in this house almost 13 years and I've never received any mail to this name. I've opened a call with Mr. Cooper thinking that there might have been some kind of data breach since I don't know who this person is because my Nationstar and my minimal loan and my address and it's not my name. Mr. Cooper told me it would take up to 15 business days so I'm hoping that they'll find some kind of resolution because it now makes me question if I did the right thing of refinancing. I worked hard to keep my credit not working and if this screws it up, I will not be a happy customer. Other than that, the process at Mr. Cooper was easy.

I had a 5.5% interest and I wanted to get that lower with the lower rates that were out there, and one of my requirements before I would refinance is to get out of the 30-year loan. I didn't want to do another 30. I wanted to have a lower interest in the payments being about the same and have it be a 15 or 20-year loan, and Mr. Cooper was able to do that.

They offered me a good deal. A lot others couldn't give me what I was asking for and Mr. Cooper was one of those that were able to. And the fact that we already had a good rapport and a good working relationship there already, I went ahead with them. Their mortgage professionals were very on time and everything was great. I've been contemplating for the last couple of years and researching, and they were very understanding about what I wanted and didn't try to point me in a different direction.

The best experience that's gonna come out of it will be the fact that it saved me five years off of the loan. I was with Nationstar Mortgage. This year, it steamed off of taxes and the tax law changed. I couldn’t deduct my PMI Mortgage Insurance and I was irritated by that so I called Mr. Cooper and told them that I wanted to refinance and knock some points off and get a lower payment but get rid of the PMI Mortgage Insurance. Mr. Cooper was able to accommodate that and got me down to full point and that’s where we're at. Also, they were able to do it in-house. If they couldn’t, I was going to reach out to other lenders and see what somebody else could do.

Mr. Cooper’s mortgage professionals have been fantastic. They were very patient and they kept in the loop with everything that was going on. If I had any questions, I would call and they would immediately know exactly who I was and answered the questions. I’m calling a big company out of the blue who didn’t know me and somehow they programmed my phone into their system so it came up as, "Hey, this is your client and he's calling." When we were discussing the refinancing options, it was easy and fairly streamlined. If I had any questions about some things I didn’t understand, the rep would back up and do more in-depth communication with me about what the terminology means.

Mr. Cooper moved as quickly as they could. And because it was a program in-house, I didn’t have to pay closing fees. They incorporated that on their end. The fee landed during the months when I should have been making a mortgage payment but they said, “No.” And because of the process on their end, they were okay with it. So, for the last two months, I haven't made a payment. It helped us because we took a trip right after the final papers were done and that money went to fun time. It was a flawless, smooth and easy experience refinancing with Mr. Cooper. I expected a lot more stress over it but there were none. I would tell friends asking not to judge its name.

The refi reduced the monthly amount that we had to pay out between the two, so that was good. The only thing that we had to follow up with was on the payout to get everything paid off on. But once we reached out to Mr. Cooper and said that we haven’t received the text, they issued it right away. Also, we invoiced on a bi-monthly payment but that didn’t transfer. It stayed in place when we went from the Citi to Mr. Cooper. We had to reset that off when we refinanced but we didn’t realize that so we made our first payment directly to Mr. Cooper. Original Review: April 3, 2018

I was looking to refinance my home and stumbled across Mr. Cooper agent. He said I don't have to pay any closing costs, no inspection needed since I had my loan 3 years earlier and said my payment is going to be $1675 a month which is about $300 less than my previous mortgage, I was extremely happy with the deal but I had some doubts, so I insisted to get a confirmation that my mortgage is not going up unless my taxes are increased and I was assured that and I jumped on it. A year later, Two months ago, I get a letter from Mr. Cooper stating that I was behind on my escrow and I was obligated to pay an extra $612 a MONTH on my mortgage.

They said that they didn't add the right taxes to my escrow when they did my loan which was almost $4000 and my taxes was increased so now I'm stuck with paying $612 a month extra for one year and after that my mortgage will be almost $2000 a month. So before I refinance, my mortgage was almost the same and so basically I went through the whole refinancing process for NOTHING! So now I'm paying so much more because they promised me much less mortgage and they screwed up my escrow, not sure if it was on purpose so I can refinance with them or it was an accident, either way I was screwed.

When I had to sign the final papers 50-something times, everything had to be something a.k.a. something. But my neighbor had to go to the office to sign and one of the extra services Mr. Cooper provided to me was that they sent the notary to me. That was nice. Nationstar (Now Mr. Cooper) somehow became the servicer of my mortgage. I set payments up on automatic bill pay at my bank. The first payment was made and somehow the next 3 payments apparently did not make it to Nationstar. No notice was received via mail, email or phone calls that they had not received my payments but I did receive over 85 email in less than 3 months on unrelated subject. About 3 months afterward the payment issue was resolved, I received 3 letters on the same day telling me that they had not received my payments for that period. Somebody must have forgotten to mail the letters.

As a result, my credit score has gone from about 830 to 580 because they immediately reported to the credit bureau. I tried to communicate with Mr. Cooper on this with no successful outcome. I had never made a late payment on any account prior to this. It upset me very much when everything I receive something from them or look them up on the internet they talk about great service. Ask me, their service is the worst. They used the email address that I provided them for my mortgage to send me crap and garbage that I had no interest in. So many email that I actually stopped reading them and they mostly all talked about Mr. Cooper's great service.

I had one mortgage company and they bought Mr. Cooper. Mr. Cooper offered competitive rates and the interactions I had with their professionals were good. I refinanced and went back and forth between companies. Originally, they did not offer me a rate that I was looking for, but when I told them that I was going to go to another company they dropped the rate to keep me as a customer. Also, I had an adjustable remortgage. Mr. Cooper could have contacted me sooner before it adjusted rather than have it adjust. They could've offered me something. That would have been nice. Even so, I'd tell others that Mr. Cooper is a competitive mortgage company. They're very friendly and I really like talking to some of them.

I had already had them as a mortgage company when they were still Nationstar, and then they changed their name. I called them up and I spoke with the loan officer. They were very reasonable and easy to deal with so I stayed with them. They were very nice and the loan officer guy that I spoke with initially was very knowledgeable and he directed me very quickly through the process so it was painless. They were very good and the rates were good. They were very tech-savvy so it was easy to get documents back and forth. It was a quick process and there were no surprises. Right off the bat, the rep told me everything to be expected and it worked out exactly the way he had said. We took out lower payoff years.

I was paying high rates with other people and they didn’t want to work with me on that. I had to reduce the rate and Mr. Cooper sent me something in the mail that said they might be able to bring my rate down, so I gave them a try. The people there were good, but they didn't do anything creative. It was a business and they just did what they had to do to make a buck. But they did a good job and I got my rate reduced. Everything was wonderful and went smoothly. But even though the rates went down to some ridiculous number, I still didn’t like it because I still went through that hard time trying pay. So I'm looking for another lender that could do more than one piece of property and bring the rates further down. Other than that, Mr. Cooper is a more knowledgeable and flexible company, and I'd probably recommend them to a friend.

I contacted them about refinancing. The loan officer whom I dealt with was fine and the appraiser was very nice. I gave the loan officer all the information upfront, but it wasn’t relayed to the processor.

I'm a processor as well and the processor was okay but very argumentative when I know there are things out there that could have been done. There was a pushback. She couldn’t answer things and she had to go to the loan officer, which was fine but the loan officer didn’t call back. I had to deal with the process myself and took my matters into my own hand and did it. Mr. Cooper could be improved if it has better communication. I understand that because I am in the business and know the answers to things but it would be very frustrating for somebody who doesn’t know.

The payment was received by the insured insurance carrier on 3/15/2018 - just in time for the policy to be canceled - and refund being issued back to named insured. Note this is the Mortgagee's money that has been held - for two months after original invoice - of which was to be paid within 7 to 10 days. If I were a lender I would not want to be associated with this loan servicing department. They are the absolute most unprofessional, unethical, and non-performing company I have ever dealt with. Mr. Cooper kept sending me letters in the mail saying I was eligible for refinancing. I already had my mortgage with them, so I just worked that way with it and the process was fairly easy. In my experience, if you try to refinance, most agencies tell you that you don’t have to bring anything to closing. But then, when you get at the end of it, it’s always different.

I wasn't expecting to spend as much money as I did, but since I started the process at this loan, I just went through with it. That may be something that most businesses do to get you hooked in. The process at Mr. Cooper's was pretty lengthy but the people were friendly and cordial, and they explained everything to me. Once I got everything together, it was fine. The loan process took them about six months. They say I lucked up, but the law changed at the end of the year. Since the refi, I got a lower interest rate and I got a shorter time to pay my loan. So I benefit from the loan, and I'm satisfied with Mr. Cooper. We already have a loan with Mr. Cooper, so we refinanced a mortgage with them. We got the refinance done in close to three weeks. Everything was wonderful with the reps. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. We rolled an equity line into our loan and lessened the years of the mortgage from 17 to 15. Also, we were on an adjustable rate and they gave us a really good fixed rate. We enjoyed doing business with Mr. Cooper and we had a good experience with them. It was so easy to do the refinance online and not have to go into the bank every other day and sign documents. The process was very streamlined. If I hear of anybody who's willing to refinance or get a mortgage, I would definitely recommend Mr. Cooper.

My experience with Mr. Cooper started out fine. However, the communication was lacking on the part of the individual that I was dealing with. And then, when things got turned over to the underwriter, it was even worse. If I don't hear anything for a week, I expect at least an email that tells me what's going on. I got none of that. Granted this was not an easy refinance because I had bankruptcy, the thing that bothered me was the gentleman, Ray, kept referring to my multiple bankruptcies, which I did not have. I explained that and I got tired of him calling it multiple bankruptcies. I was really irritated with that.

Then Mr. Cooper had to turn the loan to an FHA and I figured I'd go ahead with it even though my house payment is now over $100 a month higher than it was with a lower interest rate because of the PMI attached to the FHA. I'm not happy about it. The only individual that I dealt with that I was really happy with was Jason. The first time I talked to him, I said I expected to hear from him every week on what was happening, and he kept me informed of everything. I have gotten from Mr. Cooper everything that they said I would get, but if a friend asked me, I would probably tell them to go someplace else.

Mr. Cooper is the servicer of my loan and they said that they're the one that could do the refi because of the DTI issue I had with self-employment. It was like a hostage situation and I had no choice. I called 26 other lenders and they couldn’t do anything. I got a little overcharged for fees to make it happen, and I don’t accept that. The fees were really exorbitant. Stiil, the payment enough is the benefit or just getting out of the interest zone and into any effects there is. Yet I would tell my friends who would ask about Mr. Cooper to watch out for the fees.

They must outsource the call help to India or Pakistan. Very aggravating!! The representative told me to FedEx the claim check that they had to co-sign & then they would FedEx it back to us. A week later I called to check on the process & found out that they sent our large & much needed claim check by regular USPS snail mail! I explained to Mr. Cooper that it needed to be sent FedEx because our mail service is so bad & was told that they would. Now our work may be delayed because they said one thing & did another!

I had Nationstar for my home loan originally. Then Mr. Cooper contacted me when I was making a payment and they told me to refinance a house. I told them it was okay. The mortgage professionals from Mr. Cooper were Johnny-on-the-spot at first. But once you signed the papers they don't return the calls. We had an issue when we changed insurance companies in the middle of all this refinance so we were trying to get back but it all worked out in the end. However, it would have been nice if the person answered the phone or at least called me back just to confirm it. My wife and I were both contacting the person.

Also the reps told us one thing but they ended up charging us something else. The upfront fees were about $200 more than they actually communicated to us so it bothered me that if there was about $400 or $600 out of pocket, it had been $800 out of pocket. It was a waste of time to fight and argue it so I just let it go like most people did. But it would have been better if our communication was a bit better and if they were more upfront with their numbers. If people ask about Mr. Cooper I’d tell them that they lie.

We've been with Mr. Cooper forever. The mortgage company used to be called Springfield way back in the day. And so we just stayed with them and then as they were bought out, we just continued our mortgage contract because we like the service. Mr. Cooper's service just keeps getting better and better, so when we need to and it's the right time, we do a re-fi to help improve our credit or when we need some money to take some equity. Everything's online and it's so user-friendly.

It was a really smooth transition for refinancing. The transition was easy because they have our financial history and that's why my husband likes to stay with them. We didn't have to go digging for stuff. If there's any red flag, then all we need to do is to look for one form. It shortens the whole process. Also, the guidance was very good. We're trying to improve our credit and get higher scores so six months ago we did a refi and they said that if I continue with keeping my credit as is, I would be able to do another refi to drop down the interest rate. They gave us options and that's what I like. We talked it over and decided that way we will get a better interest rate. Now, I have couple of extra dollars in our pocket.

Every rep that we had to interact with was very good. Mr. Cooper provides open communication and they expedite very smoothly. Whether it's online or whatever, they'll let you know so that you're not in the dark. Then if you're not sure, you can call in and they're there to explain anything that you're concerned about. However, earlier in the month when I got online, I was able to see all three accounts, and I was able to click on each one and review the tax information. Now all of a sudden, that is no longer available. I got on it last week and I wasn't able to see my new account, the one that I need to pay every month. I called to ask about it and they said my account was locked. They would have somebody unlock it and it would take a few days. I checked yesterday, which was more than a few days, and it's still the same situation.

I called and spent a lot of time on the phone. Most of it was on hold waiting for somebody to pick up my call. Mr. Cooper has the option to leave your number and call back, but I did that a couple of weeks ago and I never got a callback. The rep said it was going to take another 24 to 72 hours. I said that my bill was due on the 1st, and she said, "I can take your payment over the phone and waive the fee." I did that and now it's fine. But I want to be able to get on my account again and I want to see everything without any problem.

The two representatives that I dealt with were both named Eric and they were both very good, and they should be given a pat on their back or a $10 bonus. They were able to simplify the process for me. This process is tough because a lot of times the lenders' reps would ask the loan applicants to submit things and after the applicants had done that, the reps would come back and say that they needed something more. But that didn’t happen once during my refinance process with Mr. Cooper.

We did the refinance in 28 days, which is unheard of, and the process went faster than any refinance I've ever had. After three weeks of inquiring with Mr. Cooper to figure out why, they finally advised that California state law had changed and that they are no longer required to pay interest on escrow accounts. There was never any notice from Mr. Cooper of this change in the nature of my escrow account, and their customer service response has been very poor including the last person telling me that "if you didn't want an escrow account, you shouldn't have signed up for one in the first place..."

I have done some research and determined that the existing CA law still requires them to pay interest on escrow accounts. I am awaiting a response to an escalation request with Mr. Cooper, but I am disappointed that I have to fight with them over something so simple. Even if the law has changed, I feel that they should have notified account holders that they should no longer expect interest on their escrow accounts. Secondarily, they should have notified their customer service operation to anticipate questions about missing 1099-INT forms to alleviate weeks of inquiries to finally get to their version of the "truth." However in the case of Mr. Cooper they use this loophole in US Financial law to extract the max payment from their customers. Shocking behaviour and unfortunately no redress under US law.
