From the moment I called Mr. Cooper I received nothing but excellent customer service. Paul my mortgage professional was so helpful and great in getting my paperwork started. Then I went on to the next step which was with Duke who was my loan closing coordinator. Duke was great and went above and beyond with his customer service. He always got back to me right away whenever I had to leave a message. He also whenever had any questions about any paperwork he always explained to me everything in detail which was very helpful for me. I would definitely request Duke and Paul again to help me with any refinancing. Again they were extremely helpful. Thank you Mr. Cooper for having fantastic employees. I will be sure to tell all my family and friends about my great experience with your company.

We had a mortgage on our house with Nationstar, a loan for $50,000, and an equity line of credit of $80,000 with Citibank. We wanted to roll all that over into one loan and since Mr. Cooper bought our mortgage and they had all the information on us, we went with them. Their rep suggested we put all three loans into our existing mortgage and it would save us $500 a month, which is pretty good. So, our mortgage became bigger, it absorbed some of our other ones, and it lowered our payments.
During the loan process, they called us right away and were on it. But we had to jump through hoops to get this loan. They also wanted us to contact Social Security to get our Social Security numbers, even if they had that info already. They even wanted a copy of our original Social Security cards but we don’t have them. We’re old and we memorized Social Security numbers when we were 18 years old which was the way of life when you went to college. Then we had to get an appraisal on our house even if they have all info on it since they held our mortgage. And they kept wanting all these other information.
Other than that, the man who did our settlement hadn’t looked at the papers at all before he came to us. He was reading everything for the first time in front of us and it took him an hour and a half to finish everything. I'm 66 and this is my third refinance in my lifetime. In all the other ones, we were done in 45 minutes to an hour max because there are a lot of papers to sign. But with the guy from Mr. Cooper, I had to get two shots of Tequila to get through it. And most people would have you sign on the papers, then flip it over to the next, and would go home to do their own signing and stamping. But this guy had us sign on them, then he signed them right then and there and put a stamp on them.
And as soon as Mr. Cooper got our money, things got screwed up. When we went to settlement, the gentleman had a piece of paper which was for our equity line with Citibank and he asked if we wanted to close it. We were very clear with them on what to do with that equity line of credit. We write checks on that and we told them to pay off the money we owed, but not to close the account. We said that not once, not twice, but three times. But in the end, they closed it and we're very upset. We called Citibank and they confirmed that it was closed and that there was a $1,000 early termination fee.
So, we called back our contact person at Mr. Cooper who called us every other day when he was trying to get our money. But as soon as that went through, we’ve been calling twice to complain and we've left messages, but no one has returned our call and it’s been a week now. We did not give them permission to close that account and I’m not paying the $1,000 early termination fee. Mr. Cooper sucks. I understand that people can make a mistake, but they have to make it right for their customers and return their phone calls. They need to open our account again and that's their responsibility. I'm very dissatisfied with them and I would tell others not to use them.

I did refinancing before with Wells Fargo and they sucked. When I did it with Mr. Cooper, they were very quick and their people knew what they were doing. The Mr. Cooper rep that I dealt with was outstanding. She was on point and she knew what she was doing. She got things moving along quite well. There was a gentleman that I dealt with before her and he was pretty good also. He was the one that picked up the whole ball when we first discussed it. I did everything through the computer and it was efficient and quick. I’ve refinanced in the past, and getting all that paperwork up and faxing it and sending it back and forth took a long time.

Mr. Cooper was sending our letters about refinancing. I needed to do some debt reconsolidation so I called them, and we found a plan that worked. The niceness of their people stood out, and they were informative and they made the process easy. Everything was smooth and easy. Their professionalism impressed me and it was easy to talk to people. They don’t make you feel like you’re an idiot when you’re asking questions. Other than my house and car, I’m now debt-free.

Mr. Cooper took over my mortgage and they wanted to refi. They kept calling me and asking me. It was heavy marketing but the refinance sounded like a good idea to me. Their rep Gary was helpful and answered all of my questions. The process was done in a timely manner and since refinancing, I've had the benefit of consolidating my debt. Mr. Cooper did a good job and I would do business with them again.

I originally had GMAC as my mortgage company, then they changed me to OCWEN. Ocwen then sold my mortgage to Nationstar and now it's under Mr. Cooper. It's a nightmare! I went through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and was told that Mr. Cooper was going to work on me so I could save my home. I did my trial payments for the remodification, then was told NOT to make another payment until I got my modification. Stupid me listened to them, and now I am floundering in foreclosure. I was NEVER able to get through to my particular caseworker at Mr. Cooper, I wonder if he even exists!
When I called, they'd tell me that they had sent all of the paperwork to my attorney. Calls to my attorney ended with them telling me they had never received anything and that I should have gotten it. I didn't. The last call to Mr. Cooper informed me that I had not responded to their remod offer. I NEVER RECEIVED any offer or anything else from them! Now I need to try to get them to reconsider and work WITH me on getting a mortgage I can afford.

I wanted to be able to take equity out to fix up my home because now, I have multiple sclerosis and I need different things. I decided to refinance and the reps I dealt with at Mr. Cooper were nice, knowledgeable, and guided me the right way. It was a pleasure to work with them. They made the process simple and very easy for me. Since the refi, I've had my kitchen renovated to make it easier for me and I've had my backyard made in such a way that I would have easier access to it. Mr. Cooper treated me well and they are a really good mortgage company.

I was with Nationstar before, then Mr. Cooper contacted me many times about refinancing the mortgage on my house. They came up with the HARP loan plan and their reps called and told me that they could lower my rates, so I thought of taking advantage of it. I told them I would get back with them and I contacted them after I talked to my wife. They helped me step by step to show me what could be done. When I refinanced once before, people came to my house. This was totally different since it was done over the phone and also online with emails. The process was a lot faster than it was before, although it was not so much easier.
Since refinancing my loan with them, I saved a month’s payment and I’ve gotten back a little money on the final closing. Other than that, the refi is gonna be helping me out with a lower payment. One rep was very cordial and professional when he contacted me the first time and the closing officer was very professional too. I was very satisfied with Mr. Cooper. Contact them if you're in the market for getting a house and look them up if you're having your loan refinanced. Give them a call and see what they can do.

I am a real estate agent and have a residence for sale that is part of an estate. We have a buyer and should have closed 3 weeks ago but Mr Cooper will not send in their pay off demand, nor will they even talk with the administrator of the estate or the estate attorney. The estate has had to pay for loan extensions for the buyer due to Mr Cooper's lack of response. The loan may now fall through due to this delay. I would not recommend using this company and if they are servicing your loan, refinance through another bank or mortgage company and pay them off (if you can get them to respond with a payoff demand that is).

Mr. Cooper does a good job and I would definitely recommend them. They are very thorough and they can help you out if you're in a bad situation or if you want to try to get some money out of your home to either remodel or to pay off some debt. I had a loan with them and I refinanced to remodel. I felt that they were willing to help and give us information. They told us things that would help us, things that would benefit us by the type of loan and what we were gonna get out of it. We were communicating and they pretty much kept up on things. When they asked me for information, I would send it to them as I got it. I did it via email or text through the phone. Since getting the loan, I've paid off all my credit cards and then remodeled my kitchen. And it's still cutting my payment where I can afford it.

We had quite a bit of equity in our house so we decided to use it and refinance to pay some stuff off and get a clean start. We initially tried a different provider but we didn't get through the whole process. It seemed like it was not gonna be an enjoyable experience. So we stopped and went with Mr. Cooper, which was who had my mortgage to begin with. And they did a really good job. I kinda knew what we wanted and what we needed but they also did excellently in giving us guidance. They were also good to return calls or emails and they kept us informed of the process and where we were at. So I was pleased. It was a good experience and our financial situation is better now.

Mr. Cooper called me and they wanted to know if I wanted to refinance and I said no. But when I replaced my air conditioner and furnace 'cause it had gone bad, I said that maybe I could use some help. However, during the refinancing with Mr. Cooper, I wouldn’t call the reps professional. I had gotten a loan through my bank to pay off the air conditioner and the furnace, which was $4,000. I wasn’t sure of the value of my home and that was the whole thing that I was concerned with. I also had $1,500 left on my car loan and I thought that we would go ahead and pay that off.
When the real estate failure came in, I knew I lost 57% of the value of my home so I wasn’t sure I had enough equity in the house to do this. So, Mr. Cooper said they would send somebody out to do an estimate on the home. That way I would know how much funds are available. Somebody came and the estimate came in much higher than we thought. I was gonna pay off a bit of my VISA which was about $7,100. And the rep said that there was much more money available to me if I wished it. I told him that my wife had a high VISA which was over $20,000. And he said that they could take care of that too.
Out of the five things that Mr. Cooper promised me, they only did two of them right and the other three were totally screwed up. The rep said I could have the $20,000 but then, I came to find out that I could only get $19,300. I don’t know how this got messed up, but somehow they put that in my account and my bank charged me a transfer fee. It’s only $15, which was minor. But still, if I had been told, I would have had them do it a different way. They paid all this other stuff and I wasn’t charged a wire transfer fee, but for the $19,300, I was not happy with the whole transaction. My wife actually owed $21,000 something, and I wasn’t able to pay that off totally.
With the $700 shortage in paying off my wife’s VISA, I wouldn’t have done that if I couldn’t pay the whole thing off. And the reason of the people at Mr. Cooper was that they're giving me this refinance and I don’t have to pay the month of August. My house payment is $700. So, they said that I could take that $700 that I was going to pay on our home loan and put it with the $19,300. It would get me $20,000. However, I had other things prepared for that ‘cause I knew that I didn’t have a first payment due until September 1st.
The people at Mr. Cooper said they were gonna pay off the loan to my bank for the air conditioner and furnace. That was done right. But with the car loan, instead of Mr. Cooper paying it off, they mailed me a check made out to the people, which was Capital One, who I had my car loan through. And Mr. Cooper made it up for $581 more than I needed to pay it off. I called Mr. Cooper and asked the rep, “What the heck can I do?” He said that I can mail in the check and then Capital One will mail me back the amount I overpaid. And the same thing on the VISA. They sent me a check for $7,400, which was $300 higher, although that's no big deal. I can handle that part of it.
The people at Mr. Cooper were very nice. I talked to one gentleman and one lady during all of this. And they were very courteous and were trying to be very helpful, but they didn’t do their job. They could’ve been a bit more informative, ‘cause they’re saying they’re gonna pay off a loan. I’m assuming they’re paying off a loan, not send me a check and have me pay off the loan. I guess it’s the same thing, but it’s different. Especially when the amount is way off. They misrepresented what they were gonna do. If they had told me, “Oh, I’m gonna send you a check and then you forward the check onto somebody else,” I would have verified the amount. I would think they would’ve called for a payoff amount. Apparently, they didn’t. I'm dissatisfied with my experience with Mr. Cooper.

I have two accounts with Nationstar. One account I have had on a condo in Florida for a decade. Once my family moved to Florida, we kept the condo and bought house about an hour away (the condo was closer to the beach). I wanted to do a home equity on the condo to pay off some bills and do some work on the condo. I called Nationstar (Mr. Cooper). I was talked into refinancing - the person failed to disclose that they do not do home equity loans on second homes. The rep said everything would be done quick - in fact he stated this would be the easiest loan I ever applied for. I called on a Fri and they were going to have an inspection on Mon. I sent all of the paperwork by Sat. By Tues, I had not heard anything. I left several messages and emails.
Finally, a week later, I was told the loan was too small and they would not let it go through. This was when I found out that they do not do home equity loans. The Rep then told me to TAKE THE LOAN TO ANOTHER BANK - and even suggested Bank of American or Wells Fargo. I called and complained and was told that it would be reported and to expect to be contacted by a supervisor. A month has gone by and I have not been contacted. I am now looking to take both loans to another bank - customer loyalty does not mean anything.

My original loan got sold to Mr. Cooper at some point from a previous bank and Mr. Cooper called me promising me there would be almost no paperwork, so I refied. However, it turned out to be the usual song and dance, so I was not impressed. The paperwork was the same as if you are buying a new house. If they would have told me upfront that all this was necessary, I might feel a whole lot different, but I was told upfront that all this was so easy. Almost every day, they were saying, “We got to have this. And we got to have something else. And we got to have something else.” I got two jobs. I do multiple things and I got some property, so they got to have proof of this and proof of that, and it was a pain in the butt.
The original application didn’t take very long, but once it went into the underwriter, the underwriter was on the phone with me every other day wanting something else, or they lost something and I had to resend a couple of things. At one point, I had to tell the rep to cut the attitude because he said, “You got to give me this and this got to be right away.” I said that I’m the customer and that he called me in the first place. I didn’t come to them looking to refinance in the first place. They called me and promised me all the easy refi, and then they wanted all the other stuff.
I was going from an old computer to a newer computer and I had to scan all the stuff and send them to the rep. I wasn’t set up with my new one yet and my old one wasn’t hooked to email yet, so it was annoying. They need to give us a list of everything that we need up front, so we will know what we are getting into instead of promising it is so easy but then it is not. I would tell my friends to run if they ask me about Mr. Cooper.

Nationstar Mortgage is a servicer (debt collector). This company has charged us "fees", "corporate advances", "late fees", "inspection fees", "legal fees" etc. This company started foreclosure without giving the 30 day notice required. This company has produced false documents & forged my signature on the mortgage. When asked who the owner of the alleged loan is, we were told Fannie ** owns the loan. There is no document to support that information, there is no trust recorded in the land records. Their employee executed an assignment of mortgage from another company to Nationstar AFTER the foreclosure complaint was filed with the court.
The employee of the attorney executed a certification of possession of original note, which is ludicrous because the attorney's employee was not present at the signing of the original note in 1994 and the note is undated endorsed in blank with a facsimile signature by a person using the title "attorney in fact" and there is no power of attorney. This company forged and produced falsified documents to try to steal our home of 24 years. There is no loan. Nationstar is not the mortgagee. This company is crooked.

Mr. Cooper has had my loan now for some time and I have had good experience with them so far. I recently had my house re-appraised in efforts to get my PMI removed. I was told to submit it and I did. I called to get the status of my request and I was told it was denied. No one ever called me to tell me or anything. I would not have known if I had not called. If I had known that the new appraisal had to show "significant improvement to structure", I would have asked him to put that on the appraisal, since we renovated it a year and a half ago. Now I'm out $500 for an appraisal that cannot be used. Also, my appraisal will expire, according to Mr. Cooper's standards, 2 days before my 2 year period of my loan, in which I could use that appraisal without showing "significant improvements". My house just appraised for $71,000 more than what I owe...remove my PMI. Not impressed.

My experience with Mr. Cooper was excellent and I would recommend them. My loan was given to them and it was transferred back to them last year. Since, I already had my loan with them, I hadn’t had any problems with them. I did a refinance and my dealings with their representatives were excellent. Lloyd and Dan were very professional and they have knowledge of what they were talking about. . If I had a question, they answered it. And if I called and I didn’t get them, they would call me back. They told me everything that will take place from the beginning to the end. I was very comfortable working with the rep who gave me different options to look at. I went with the best interest rate. And he did give me different options that I could look at, but I liked the option that he gave me best, the first one. The entire process took 21 days, so it was fast. I got good benefits since refinancing as I have started remodeling my home.

I needed to take care of some outstanding debt and I also wanted to make some repairs. When I talked to Mr. Cooper about refinancing, the salesperson was very courteous and friendly. He answered my questions and provided all the information I wanted in the beginning. But when he finally transferred it over to a finance person, which was the second step, I was not getting information like I needed.
I was getting to a point where I almost did not go through with it. But I ended up going back to the first person. He took care of all the issues that I had and made sure that it was followed through. He went beyond and he was what kept me with Mr. Cooper. I wish that the other steps provided the same level of communication as the first salesperson. They also had an issue with the debt to asset ratio but they moved forward and found a way to work around it. I really didn’t want a 30-year loan but that’s what it ended up to be. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Mr. Cooper.

They were also exceptionally knowledgeable, stayed on top of things, and kept me informed which I am very appreciative of. I have had my house for 20 years next month. In that time I've never taken out a second mortgage. I am currently paying nearly double the prime interest rate. After the loss of 3 jobs due to layoff and sales of businesses, I filed bankruptcy 18 years ago and excluded the house. It's been a beast rebuilding my credit. Since this time, my mortgage has been sold or changed to another a number of times. First it was First Tennessee, then it was First Horizon, then Nationstar and now Mr. Cooper. With all that said, I attempted to refinance my house early this year, prompted by a letter from Mr. Cooper encouraging me to do so. My first attempt, they noticed there were a couple of over 30 days that needed to clear then I could try it again. August, they suggested. So August roles around I tried again, well, this time my FICO had dropped a few points which made me not able to do it at this time.
Mr. Cooper's guy advised me to pay off some debt and reach back to them in a couple of months. I dipped into my 401k to pay off/down a few credit cards. I came back and was told, the credit score was still a little high, to wait a little longer. Now I return October 1st, they pull my credit, numbers look good, let's proceed. Ran everything, made it to underwriting, and given a closing date of October 15th. I'm beside myself with excitement. Then... I get a message from Mr. Cooper's guy, need a call ASAP. Seems that FHA doesn't want to back the loan because I have an over 30 day within the last 24 months... 2 years!!! Seriously?
Now, when I say over 30 day, that means (admittedly btw by Mr. Cooper) that a payment is made on the 30th, but doesn't necessarily get processed or applied until the 31st or the 1st, depending on the month of course!! But they have no way of doing anything about that. Oh, need I say this is after they've ordered and received an appraisal on my house for $485 that I am going to be stuck with paying. Seems to me that all the rest should have been done prior to that!! I took off 2 days of vacation to spruce up the house and a half day to be there for the appraiser which returned with the estimate I guessed, then just to be told by Mr. Cooper "Too bad... Can't help you" for the most part.
I mean, Mr. Cooper's girl that I spoke with was so sarcastic and pious describing to me that I could probably get a hardship modification. Seriously. I have 2/3rds available equity in my house and I can't use any of it, because they marked me as paying late when I paid in the month. Oh, I didn't mention that ever since Nationstar took over, they've NOT reported to any of the credit reporting agencies. NOT ONE! Maybe my credit rating would be a bit better if they'd report. Maybe it wouldn't be my word against theirs with 30 day lates.
Oh, they've known about it not showing up. It's been mentioned a number of times by me, but does anyone do anything. NOPE! American Dream is supposed to be home ownership. I call it an American nightmare right now. Now I just want to sell and rent rather than deal with this company. The only reason they have a star checked above is because it wouldn't let me go any further down and still submit a review.

Last June, on a Friday, I made an online mortgage payment and scheduled it for the following Monday. On Monday I checked by bank account and didn't see the payment as pending. Fine, it takes time for the payment to clear. So I went to MrCooper.com to see if the payment was pending. It wasn't. There was no indication I had even made the payment. So I tried again.
The next day I looked at my checking account and saw two mortgage payments to Mr. Cooper. I called the mortgage company and explained what happened, and a friendly associate called my bank. The three of us worked it out. My bank canceled one of the payments and waived the fee, and Mr. Cooper canceled one of payments. So far so good. But a week later I received a letter notifying that owed Mr. Cooper $20 for an NSF fee. I called and got nowhere. I emailed and got nowhere. So I wrote a letter and mailed it. Sometime later Mr. Cooper sent me a letter saying the fee would be waived. That was in July. Last week the $20 fee turned up again. It's from last June. The crack research team is all over it. Just three more business days to go.

The interaction with Mr. Cooper’s reps was very smooth and they were very quick and thorough. Once they started to talk to me, I realized that it was the right company to go with. I could tell the person that I had spoken with has done it before so, they just led me down the path of what we needed to do.
Since refinancing with Mr. Cooper, we had work done on the wall and we got a washer and dryer. There were some other things that we were doing to pick up the house. There are also a few other things that we have been considering such as a second place or getting a condo closer to our daughter and I would probably go with Mr. Cooper to pick up a second mortgage, if ever we're gonna go that route. I have a current loan through USAA that gets serviced by Nationstar DBA Mr. Cooper. I have had to call into the customer service number several times over the last 6 months. While their reps seem to be very helpful and courteous over the phone, nothing in the background ever gets done correctly. After my divorce, I've requested to have the ex removed from my loan via assumption or release of liability. I've sent in repeated paperwork to have this done, called in, told that everything is as it should be and he is off the loan, just to find out later that he's still on there. I call back, they say they don't see my paperwork...so...I do it all over again. Call back when nothing has materialized, hear again over the phone that everything is fine, then I get a paper from USAA saying they still need the paperwork to process the request.
The left hand does NOT know what the right is doing. THEN, I pay for my mortgage over the phone, they took it out of the wrong checking account from USAA and charged me a late fee. USAA sees the error and sends a note to remove it from the Nationstar side. Nationstar over the phone says - we apologize, it'll be off later today. Fast forward two months of this late fee being on here still month after month. I'm BEYOND frustrated that USAA chose this company to deal with. I have literally spent about 5-6 hours total calling in, waiting on hold, being on three-way with USAA and Nationstar to resolve the issues and I have YET to have them done after all this wasted time! If it wasn't for the rate I got 5 years ago, I would be more than DONE with them both and go elsewhere.

They changed their name from Nationstar to Mr. Cooper (a ridiculous name)? Google Nationstar and you will see part of the reason they changed their name and the rest of the reason to use Mr. Cooper's name is to make you think you are dealing with a person who cares. It takes more than a name change... It takes actual service by employees who actually care. I have yet to find that. I have been calling them since July 2018 and it is now October 2018 and nothing has been resolved. They don't do the research they say they are going to do, they don't return phone calls, my loan is now in default, thru no fault of mine. They do not have accurate records of debits and credits.
For the past several months they have shown 3 credits on my account and 2 debits each month for the past several months, with no explanation. They have shown triple payments applying one payment to principal only and one payment to the loan due. My loan was transferred from Citi, where I had no problems, was on autopay so payments were not late. My last conversation was with a supervisor, Robert who assured me that he understood what the problem was, he would get back to me on Monday. I called him every day of that week, he returned my call on Thursday at 4:55 and according to his schedule that he gave me he was off on Thursday at 5. I called him again on Friday. An entire week, again, with nothing done. This, of course, will affect my credit. They care??? Of course they do, they changed their name to Mr. Cooper. This has been a very frustrating experience.

Mr. Cooper purchased our original mortgage, then we refinanced to redo our kitchen. Their website is fantastic and it was super easy to navigate. We've been through some other refinances in the past that have been nightmares, but our interactions with the mortgage professionals of Mr. Cooper were pretty good. The only thing, though, that could be improved upon was that sometimes they seemed to be in a hurry. One of the mortgage professionals that we dealt with was perfect. She knew exactly what she was doing and gave us the right guidance. She was very informative and kept us up-to-date. She called us regularly to tell us what they still needed or were not able to get, or to call our insurance company as they were not responding. She was always a little rushed though. When I asked a question, she was frustrated because it seemed like she needed to get on with something else, but she always answered and she was on top of everything.
The process went smoothly and quickly, and we were very appreciative. We were most surprised at what our house was appraised for and we were pleased with that. It did not lower our house payment but we were able to keep it around the same as what we had before. That was where Mr. Cooper was very helpful. We were able to do that because the mortgage professional gave us multiple options of what we could do. Our original loan was a 15-year mortgage and we took it back out to 30 years to get the payments to stay the same. I would definitely recommend Mr. Cooper and tell people to give them a shot.

I had a prior loan modification with Nationstar Mortgage in which my payment was under $870.00 a month. After 1 1/2 years, the escrow department ran their "tax analysis" and calculated only half of my taxes, claiming that my taxes increased by over $1600.00 a year. In actuality, they only increased by $353.00. In addition, the escrow department claimed that I was short and that my new payment would be over $1100.00 a month. I returned to work from a layoff and had to take a substantial pay cut just to get working again. If I could afford a high monthly mortgage payment, I wouldn't have needed a loan modification in the first place!
Enter Mr. Cooper, as I had went through this ordeal with the incompetent staff at Nationstar, explaining their error for over a year, Mr. Cooper was no better and did nothing to correct their wrong. I once again entered into a loan modification and the dedicated loan specialist served no purpose as she never called, nor informed me of the status my modification. Mr. Cooper kept asking for documentation a piece at a time instead of stating that all was needed at once. I was informed do not send in payment until the modification was complete by one party, then advised by another to submit payment when the modification could not be completed within 2 weeks.
As I went online to make a payment I was not able to do such. In calling, no one could advise me as to why the screen was blanked out. It is my belief that Mr. Cooper is procrastinating in this process in order to foreclose on my home and waiting until the last minute to spring this information on me. Why else would they keep asking for trivial information for over a month on information that I never had to provide before? They may change their name, but they can't change their unscrupulous business practices that has Nationstar written all over it!! If I could I would have not given ANY STARS!!!

Mortgage payments have been made as required, and the statements they've been sending reflects this. My attorney has all my payment history and records as well. Then all of a sudden, Mr. Cooper sends me a statement showing I am a month delinquent beginning Sep 2018. When I made my payment in Sep, I asked about the so-called, "delinquency" and the representative stated it was a timing-issue; that is, the statement was supposedly sent out before my payment was made. This of course was not true since the statement was dated 20 September, but the payment was done via telephone on 10 Sep. Anyways, she assured me it was not an issue. Then today, 4 Oct 2018, I receive a new statement from Mr. Cooper and it was still showing a month behind. So I again questioned the error with a lady named Kimberly (assuming that was even her real name) from Arizona in the bankruptcy department.
Kimberly claims I have not been "caught up" since 2016 when they purchased my mortgage from Bank of America. I of course informed her that this is an error. While it was true that I fell a month behind during the loan-transition from BoA to Nationstar (due to neither department wanting to accept payment), I made every effort to get caught up on my mortgage, and that I did having made 2 large payments. Then in 2017 I was taken to court where I had to pay a month plus attorney fees, and that I did, which was completed in April 2018. And all has been great since then. That is until Sept 2018 when I see that they are at it again. I am very familiar with what Mr. Cooper (aka Nationstar) is up to.
I know they want my house so that they can liquidate the asset in a short sell, make a quick buck, and stiff me with the balance; this won't happen of course. I asked Kimberly how she can explain all Aug and prior statements not reflecting a delinquency. Her answer was a glitch was in the system, and that the system used for statements is not the same as the system SHE uses. That of course is not my problem, and is a clear sign that she is lying through her teeth. My attorney has been contacted, and this will not be the end of it. Seems Nationstar (aka Mr. Cooper) continues to illegally steal peoples homes. But thankfully I am quite knowledgeable of their tactics. I have the statements to prove I am right, and I have a complete history of my mortgage payments WITH confirmation numbers. This might turn out to be fun after all...Fannie Mae (aka Nationstar) is not going to get away with another home theft.

Our loan was transferred to Mr. Cooper last year then we refinanced as we wanted to redo the house and our payment changed. We had few issues though during the refinancing as the numbers were wrong and I had to point things out to the mortgage professional. He fixed it the first time then it went to approval and to loan and I let him know again that the numbers halfway through were fine. Then, they were not matching anymore. He blamed the underwriter for not putting the numbers correctly and said that he fixed it. I emailed him right after I got it and told him that two of them were still wrong.
It was an easy fix and I did not understand why they couldn't fix it. Everything on the credit port gave them the numbers that it should've been. But they took certain numbers from other amounts and put them on the wrong places and left them. I spent half an hour on the phone once pointing out every number where it belongs. It was right on the credit report and they just had to look at the report and transfer the numbers into the correct spot. I didn't want to mess around with it anymore so, we ended up closing the loan. It was too much money on two payments and I'm waiting to be refunded of $1,400 from one company and $407 from the other company. Because of what we went through, we wouldn’t tell anybody to use Mr. Cooper.

Most people only care about the interest rate. Hey, I'm like that too. But keep in mind that if you run into problems, Mr. Cooper can be a pain to deal with. We had a substantial loss due to water damage. Mr. Cooper insisted that that insurance check go to them and that they would dole out the funds. Probably they wanted to be sure the money was spent fixing the house and not taken by us for a lavish vacation or something.
The problem we ran into: We paid our contractor money as a deposit. We also bought materials. Mr. Cooper insisted on putting the contractor's name on every check and wanted receipts for everything. Our contractor did not want his name on the check--that was between us and the insurance company. He didn't want confusing records that could trigger tax problems. He didn't want to go with us to the bank each time to co-sign so we could deposit the money (we have 2 bank accounts and both banks insisted such a check would need to be signed in the presence of a teller).
Eventually we just paid off the loan. We were told that since Mr. Cooper no longer had any claim on the house, our insurance money would be returned to us right away. That was not correct. Once we paid off the loan we were told the insurance money was considered part of the "overage" for our payoff. It would take about 20 business days (about a month) to get paid.
We had emptied our bank acct to pay off the loan, we had paid big sums up front for materials and labor and now they wanted to hold our money even though the insurance money was ours. They did not stand behind the employees who had promised us our money would be returned promptly. I have no problems with the mechanics of the loan. As long as you pay them on time, there's no problem (why would there be?). But if you stray off that path into some other situation, beware!

That was a nice change since it was hard for me to do everything over the phone. The guidance they gave me was also good and working with them gave me the ability to get out of my credit card debt much quicker.

My mortgage interest rate, which was 9.7, was too high and ridiculous. I tried one time to get my mortgage refinanced but at that time, they couldn’t do it because of my credit score. But I got it done now. The representative communicated my paperwork, what I needed, and what to do. Then he came back. We filled out the paperwork when we closed. There was also a lady I dealt with in the beginning and she was very nice. I was dealing with Mr. Cooper for a long time and they have been nice and straight on with me. The guidance when I refinanced was good and my monthly payment is lesser now.

My interest rates were almost 8% so I looked into a refinance and went with Mr. Cooper. I've had them for many years and I'm comfortable with them. They were really good. The mortgage was in my name, not my husband's, because we just got married a couple of years ago. He’s a veteran and they made the VA loan pretty easy to do. My interest rate is almost five points lower. We did a shorter term of 15 years. It jumped the payment up like 100 bucks because the rate went down so far. They were on the ball. They got back to me in a timely manner and made everything pretty easy.

While discussing escrow analysis and PMI cancellation on one particular call we looked into refinancing with the company and as a result of their suggestions saved over 200k in interest while shaving 10 years off our length and end up paying a similar amount to what we were currently paying. I never considered the option they presented until they said it. Mr. Cooper genuinely looks out for their customers not themselves.

My bank had sold my loan to Mr. Cooper a couple of years ago. For a long time I’ve been meaning to refinance my old mortgage because my mortgage was at seven and a half percent. I should have done it years ago but I’m single and not really comfortable with financial people. Going with Mr. Cooper was convenient for me because they already had my loan. The person who contacted me made me very comfortable. Bob, their mortgage professional, was great. He kept on top of things and kept me informed. I didn’t feel he was pushing his product. Mr. Cooper made me feel confident that I was doing better. Having confidence and being comfortable with the provider is a lot more important than a couple of dollars sometimes. They seem to make everything easy and the closing was great. My experience with Mr. Cooper was great. My mortgage payments have been reduced to over $400 a month which is nice.

Mr. Cooper did everything they could to make my experience as easy as possible. I wanted to refinance because I'm 66 years old and I would be almost 90 before my loan is paid off. I only talked to two people from Mr. Cooper, and they were wonderful. They were very helpful and very cooperative. I was out of town and didn’t have all the information that they needed, and they waited for me to call the people that I could get the information from. The refinance went pretty quickly. It usually takes about 30 days for a mortgage to go through and the refinance was done within that time limit. I’m a Realtor, so I’ve worked with other mortgage companies. We did everything by emails, text or phone calls, and everything went as smoothly as I could expect it to be. I would recommend Mr. Cooper to my clients.

We had a mortgage with Nationstar then we wanted to refinance for a lower interest rate and get some cash back so that we could do some of the things around the house that we needed to do. We did that with Mr. Cooper and we had a really good experience with them. Their reps were very professional, friendly, and efficient. Everybody we talked to was nice and very knowledgeable. We looked into refinancing a little before and we talked to other mortgage companies, but Mr. Cooper made it very simple for us and everything was very easy with them. We talked to their rep, Rich, in the beginning and he explained it all so well to us that I felt like I knew exactly what was gonna happen. Plus, he followed it up with emails. Then, somebody else came and helped with the end-results of it and he was very nice and helpful, too.
Mr. Cooper outlined everything that we needed to know and more. Since refinancing our loan with them, we've had peace of mind and a lower interest rate, so our monthly mortgage payment became less. Also, I have a hard time walking to places and they sent a notary here so that we could sign the papers here, and that was very helpful. Obtaining approval for our conventional home loan was very easy with our Excellent credit history, it's what followed after. We were given 3 different closing dates each time having the date canceled by Mr. Cooper. According to our loan officers Scott ** and Paula **, it was due to the Underwriters! Our title company was also very upset with the fact that Mr. Cooper could never send them a Good Closing doc. On the 3rd try or maybe it was 5th who's knows anymore, I received 4 closing docs in one day. Finally I received a call from the title company asking me to come Now, as they had a Good Doc.
At Closing they even screwed up by not sending the correct amount of monies to the title company which only meant another delay in getting the keys for our new home. It was a nightmare that would not end. We thought that using the same mortgage lender that we had used previously, that there would be no problems, we were WRONG! Mr. Cooper has reached out to me regarding this unfortunate problem and has offered to pick up the additional cost of our extended hotel stay, and other additional expenses. I will be responding to Mr.Cooper, but right now I am still unpacking and dealing with a very ill husband.

I started out with Freddie Mac years ago but they went under during the bad times and it was taken over by some company that was managing the account. Then Mr. Cooper got it. When Nationstar finally picked up a big block of Freddie Mac loans, everything fell in place where I could refi. When you're coming out of a bankruptcy, not many people will even talk to you about it, but since Mr. Cooper already had my paperwork on file and I was established with them, I reached out to them. They were very upfront with the cost. I had some out-of-pocket expenses, which was no surprise, but I got exactly what I was asking for. I was pleasantly surprised.
My customer service experience with Mr. Cooper was excellent. I have nothing but good things to say of the loan officer I dealt with, and Karen, the closer, was excellent. Her attitude was fabulous. She stayed on top of stuff and was really sharp. I'm a retired homicide detective so I don’t give out accolades very often about how people do their job, but I was very impressed with Karen's knowledge and her toughness. She really stayed on task and I really felt like I had someone in my corner. It made me feel really good.
We had some issues going in where we had filed a bankruptcy five and a half years ago and it was over with, and Karen discovered that my attorney’s office never filed the proper paperwork so we could proceed with the mortgage. So when I contacted my attorney’s office, it caught them with their pants down that they had not filed the proper paperwork that they needed to do, and Karen was the one who pointed that out. I also got the paperwork in the mail that said my other mortgage was satisfied and totally paid off, and on October 1, I'd make my first payment on my new mortgage.
I get concerned, however, when I'm getting all this bogus stuff in the mail like it is from Mr. Cooper and I know it's not. I even had something that said, “Mr. Cooper,” and then it had my name under it. It is an insurance company that’s trying to play themselves off as Mr. Cooper to get me to write a policy for the amount of my mortgage. I have no problem doing that but I would rather go through Mr. Cooper. I tried to be loyal. So I wanna call Mr. Cooper about getting an insurance policy that would pay my mortgage off if anything happens to me. I'm 62, my wife is 66 and we've got a 15-year note, but we're accelerating the payments drastically to pay the loan off. Overall, my experience with Mr. Cooper was really good from start to finish. I'd recommend them in a minute.

Our loan was bought by Mr. Cooper - Mr. Cooper for a mortgage company name??? I guess the name is a much of a joke as they are. We have never missed a payment and with our prior company, we used the deferred payment option one time. Have some expenses that we weren't expecting and thought this would be a good time to defer our payment one month. 1st - took 42 min to get to a live person - kept getting the auto message that they could take the payment over the phone. Then got to a CS rep that said she couldn't help me and I needed to talk to the deferred department. Then got disconnect, called back - another 30+ min on hold and was told that all of the systems crashed. It would be 20-30 min on hold for someone to get with me. Asked if I could get a callback from a Escalation Supervisor at 2 pm CDT and was told yes.
3:30 CDT - I called them. Notice - no callback. Was told to hold again and after 15-20 min got to Peaches in the Escalation department and she told me that 1- they don't offer deferred payments and 2 - they couldn't/wouldn't do anything to assist me until I was at 30 days behind. So being proactive and trying to get something prior to it hitting my credit and being late is wrong - such a joke. I told Peaches that I hope she sleeps well at night working for a company that would rather screw the consumer than help them. Will be moving from Mr. Cooper as soon as I can get it arranged.

I was in the process of refinancing (wrong service offered to me.) The loan was frozen with the try-out amount and I was unable to pay it online (I tried numerous times & have screenshots to prove it). Due to this fact my loan got ‘behind’ when I’ve paid it on time diligently for 10 years prior. I was assessed late fees, reported to credit companies, my credit score dropped AND I was assessed an inspection fee, apparently for them checking if the property was vacant without my knowledge or consent.
I tried reaching Mr Cooper, kept leaving messages, but wasn't getting a call from a live rep! This ‘inspection’ of my property, which is an apartment in a 500 apartment building cost me $60, a charge they refuse to remove even though it was due to their mistake, a series of mistakes rather. Overall-horrendous service, they don't call back, reaching a live rep s impossible, they don't send documentation when requested. If I could give this company a negative rating - I would!

I wanted to shorten the term and lower my mortgage payments. I did it with the one I was with, City Mortgage, and Mr. Cooper bought our loan out from them. Some of my interactions with Mr. Cooper reps were good and some were bad. The supervisor was okay. When I was able to talk to them, I could get somewhere, and I knew what was being said and what was to be expected. But that one young lady, the processor that called all the time, I don’t think she knew where she was going. Because at the end, she said, “Well, we’re glad to be processing your loan. We’ll just go ahead and get it served.” I said, “Ma’am, we’ve done the closing. What are you talking about processing the loan and getting it started?” And she said, “Oh, yeah, that’s right.” She was a whole lot lost.
Nonetheless, the guidance I received from them was fair. So far, we’re just getting started into making our first payment. However, when we had done signing closing papers, I had so much money coming back to me. All of a sudden, their rep called and said, “Just want to let you know to keep that check.” I said, “Well, we just put it in the bank.” And she said, “Well, there was some mistake, violations.” I said, “What do you mean violations?” She said, “Well, I had to talk to them and get back to you.” I never did hear anything. The next thing I learned, they’ve put a stop payment on the check. I was charged a $9 service fee for that, which I did receive the check in the mail yesterday where they did refund the $9, and then they sent me another check for less money. That wasn’t too professional. It was all done after closing and I don’t think you’re supposed to be changing figures after that.
They said, “Well, it was under a HARP loan. In a HARP loan, you can only get $250. They gave you $368." I said, “It should have been like that on closing. What if I haven’t had the money in the bank to cover some bills that I was paying? Would you done a stop payment on that check that I didn’t know about?” That’s what upset me more than anything. You just don’t go and put a stop payment on a check without notifying somebody. I don’t know if I’d go through with them again or not. I'd tell others to be careful with them. They might need to look at somebody else.

I had a variable rate mortgage and was paying my mortgage. The next thing I knew, the rate was getting higher. Then I got a call from Justin and he and I had a chat, and we went ahead and refinanced. The refinancing process took about a month. I got a lower interest rate and solid fewer years to pay it off. I got to cash out and paid my credit card debt down to zero.
It's just that Mr. Cooper didn’t send the correct check to pay off my credit cards 'cause we did a cash-out. Now, I'm having to prove to them that I sent checks or they got cash with each account and that's a little bit of a hassle. But I'm gonna comply with that, and then let's see if we can get some money head my way. Other than that, everything is fine with Mr. Cooper. Everything was very professional and digital. It was great signing all the paperwork online too. I'd recommend them.

I had Nationstar and when Mr. Cooper bought them out, I refinanced with them. I had to refinance it out of my ex-husband’s and my name and just put it in mine. I started out with an excellent lady and she was very caring and understanding. She explained things extremely well and made it very pleasant. However, the next one I dealt with made it ugly. She continued to ask for things from day to day but she did not explain things very well. She did not accept my answers very well either. At one point, they forced me to refinance as an investment property because I travel with my job so I work remotely. But, they did not believe me when I told them that I was living in my house because I only had power, water and my mortgage to show that it was in my name and I live there.
The process started off easy and nice then it got a little difficult. I was asked almost every day for something different to be sent in. They asked me for information from a divorce 15 years ago. I had to go through the whole process of finding out what that was all about. Then, after everything settled with that, I told them that we’ll do it. I expected paperwork and 2,000 in cash to turn around a couple of days later and for them to say that it will be financed regularly and that there will be no cash coming to me which I thought they were kidding me.
Since I refinanced with Mr. Cooper, I'm saving $100 a month and my insurance went back on escrow. However, the intent of refinancing was to lower my payment and get a better interest rate. I was paying 7.85% before refinancing and now, I'm paying 7.53% so for the hassle, the benefits are not worth it. It is a test trying to refinance and there will be more questions. I had a very aggravating experience with Mr. Cooper this time which I do not recall it ever being so aggravating.

We dealt with Mr. Cooper for our mortgage but we reached out to another place and it just seemed to take too long. I didn’t know at that time that we would be able to do the same thing through Mr. Cooper but we tried and they were able to help us. They did a great thing. We got kids in college and we were able to consolidate things. Initially, the refinancing was to reduce the mortgage payment, but then when we found out that there were other things that we could take care of besides that and put it under one roof for a short period of time then we said we would do that too.
Everyone at Mr. Cooper was very helpful and very informative. I could call one of the people that was there any time. No matter what time this person was always available. They were very thorough and it made it a very, very smooth process for the whole thing to take place. They gave us some insights that we weren't aware of and they did an excellent job. We were fixed rate at 7.5% since we lived in that house for 15 years. It just happened by coincidence that we were in the midpoint where it would've been perfect timing to just refinance for another 15 years and then take care of everything. We were able to lower out interest rates and everything worked out.

We've been in this house for quite some time, and we've been paying and paying but we weren't getting anywhere. Then we realized that refinancing would kill a lot of the interests and then we'd get a lower payment. I called a lot of people and I ended up talking to an elderly gentleman from Mr. Cooper. He really understood where I was coming from and he broke it down to me. He talked me through it and made me realize that I couldn’t lose any way we look at it. I'm using my wife's credit rating, which was just as good as mine, and it made it a lot easier for us to go and do it. Dealing with the gentleman and the young lady that took over the process after him went well. And then we the appraisal people came in and gave us a good appraisal for the house. It was well taken care of. We kept it up for a little $18,000-house.
Mr. Cooper did good. We got a lower interest rate and monthly payment. By getting that lower interest rate, we decided we'd continue to pay the same amount that we've been paying, and the broker would be going directly to the principal. We win if we have them paid off earlier. I own commercial properties worth four times as much as this house here. So we pay this off from properties, go get some more houses, and then go from there.

I called their service department, who told me not to mind the website, because it was all wrong and my payments were up to date. After the NationStar to Mr. Cooper transition, something happened and I got late fees. I couldn't access the website or get anyone on the phone promptly, after my due date and payment amount changes, my automatic payments from my bank were off, and I got more late fees. I called. They were supposed to remove the fees, but every time I log into the new website I still see fees. New ones now I think.
I would be more annoyed, but I just bought a new home (not using Mr. Cooper for the mortgage, of course) so I will be selling this home and paying off the mortgage, so I won't have to deal with this anymore. Capital One services the new loan, and they're a much better organization. Such foolishness about the fees though. Why would they so readily hit me with fees when I DO have payments being made monthly -- just not on the new schedule or exact correct amount? How much money did Mr. Cooper lose by not writing my new $200k mortgage? Bad business. Maybe I'll try calling them again today... Other reviewers it appears have struggled with the payoff process.

Mr. Cooper had called me a while back about a refinance but the refinance didn’t go through. I had my sister get our house and she led it to go into foreclosure. They sold the house, but they hadn’t cleared off my account yet. And then a couple months later, someone else from Mr. Cooper called me and they refinanced. However, I was uncomfortable with the application process because they told me it would be one price, but it was another price. And then, I sent all the paperwork and they kept on sending this and that. Then they said I didn’t have to send in one thing, and then come to find out, I had to send that one thing in, and it was irritating.
Corey, a rep at Mr. Cooper, was nice. I had an old card that my husband had, but it was in my name, and he didn’t pay it off. It was $8000, and Bank of America Solution said I could pay $5000 and it’d be paid in full. I was explaining that to the other rep and he said that if they say $8000, I got to pay the $8000. I then sent him the paperwork where they said I could just pay $5000, which I guess, he didn't wanna hear that. My husband ended up paying the $8000. This was for a closing.
A lot of times, when I send them emails, the people at Mr. Cooper don’t call me and tell me they got the email or the fax, so I had to keep calling them. I got a lower interest rate from them, which was 8%. But the thing was, I owed $48000, and after Mr. Cooper did the refinancing, it went to 50 something thousand. I could have kept it at 8%, but when they told me that people had put a lien on my house for the $8000, I went ahead and did the refinance because they said that they can pay the lien off. In the end, it was nice with Mr. Cooper.

Our Chase automatic online payment for June/18 didn't go through, and we were fined $30. That would have been okay. After all it wasn't paid. Except when our automatic online payment actually paid as scheduled for the following month of July/18, Mr. Cooper moved that on-time payment in July to the missed June payment. Then they charged us a 30 dollar late fee for that July payment and reported us to the credit bureaus as late for both months. Then to find out we owed another $30 late payment for August/18 because they moved that on-time payment to June. We were not notified of this happening until August 29th, when Mr. Cooper sent us all the late info.
Yes, we should have audited our online banking auto pay. However, Mr. Cooper did nothing to mitigate the issue. I contend that this is an unethical business practice by Mr. Cooper to raise their bottom line. They, Mr. Cooper lost a lot of revenue from being taken to court for a myriad of lawsuits that proved in Ca Superior court and other state class action suits to be unethical and outright misleading lending practices.
We couldn't get this issue cleared up regarding their unethical practice of Cooper switching a borrower's on-time payment for one month to a different month and then charging them for two missed months. They changed their name from Nationstar to Mr. Cooper this last year because of many lawsuits pending and won in court by consumers for unfair, unethical and unlawful lending practices. Look them up. We are taking them to court in hopes of them changing this unethical practice of "mortgage bumping."
We asked for their litigation department and the office has no phone number, no address, and no way to contact them to deliver a summons for a civil action, this according to their "escalation department." We are hoping that we can, once on the docket, amend to a class action lawsuit forcing them to once again, open their books. Mr. Cooper a silly name to say the least, have had many or substantially more lawsuits filed against them for illegal, unethical, onerous business practices than many of the more reputable lending institutions.

Often times I get a Cooper that is very nice but they tell me they're going to do something, like pay my real estate taxes, by the end of the week only to find out that two weeks later, they're still not paid. So, truthful...not. Then they finally do pay my real estate tax...$6.03. What the what! Common sense would tell anyone looking at that that it's incorrect. But no, a new Cooper, I want to name her but I'm not a mean person, told me that was correct and would not transfer me to the tax department but just kept telling me that it was correct. Helpful...not. Even a 1st grader would know that taxes would be more than $6.03 but I was wrong and she was right.
I finally admitted that there was just no talking to her and the conversation was over. Thankfully, I talked to my county tax assessors office and when she was done laughing, she promised me that she would notify the Coopers that they were wrong because she was looking right at the bill. I called Mr. Cooper back and did talk to two very helpful ladies, but again it took me so many times trying to make them understand that this was incorrect that I was getting very exasperated. I finally got through and have been promised that this would be corrected within 3 business days. We shall see.
This is not the first time that I've had a bad experience with this company. I'm going to blame CitiMortgage for everything though because they sold my mortgage to Mr. Cooper. I don't owe much on the house and as a result, the interest payments weren't enough for CitiMortgage to bother with. So much for never being late and being a customer for 15 years. My mother passed away 10/4/2017 and I have now inherited her house along with her mortgage payment. In July of this year I contacted Mr. Cooper to hopefully work out a loan modification on the property to make the mortgage cheaper. I still have my main residence that we live in and pay a mortgage for. My husband recently was laid off which is why I have not been able to pay the mortgage since July. Obviously the mortgage on our residence where we live with our 3 children is more important to pay. I plan to sell my mother’s property which I will be hoping to start soon. Due to legal issues, I was not able to proceed with anything (such as clearing out the belongings in the house) on the property until recently. I paid every month’s payment from Oct. 2017 until I could no longer pay starting July 2018.
After almost 2 months’ going back and forth with Mr. Cooper reps on the “proper” paperwork to upload and continue the loan modification process, everything was successfully submitted. The loan is behind July and now almost August (it’s Aug. 27th). August 30th I check online and the only message I receive is the loan modification has been “rejected” and I had to call to find out why. I called (August 30th around 1:20PM. Since calls are recorded you should find it fairly easy) and was told it was not my main residence so I was rejected! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? At the beginning of the whole process, it was known it was not my main residence and was my mother’s residence who passed away!
The rep then says I am approved for deferred payments if I would like to defer the past payments. Yes please! I am then told I would have to make August and September’s payments in order to defer July’s payment. And those payments would have to be completed in the current month. So I had 1 day to come up with a double payment? Let me repeat that. I NEED TO MAKE 2 MONTHS OF PAYMENTS TO DEFER ONE MONTH’S PAYMENT IN ONE DAY. What???
After many back and forths with the “Cooper” and suggesting maybe that does not make sense, I finally gave up. Can a “Cooper” Specialist PLEASE explain to me how that makes sense? I tried explaining to the “Cooper” I was talking to that it sounds as bad as the crap Bank of America did to owners in order to cause foreclosures. She argued that a foreclosure does not benefit Mr. Cooper. Hmmm…let’s delay paperwork (by saying different owner forms submitted are wrong and/or lost) which then causes a couple months of payments to fall behind, then reject right away (once all correct forms are received) and say it is because it’s not the main residence (which is a fact known almost 2 months before when the process was started) or some other ridiculous reason I’m sure, then say you can defer but have to pay twice as much as what you are trying to defer?
There is about $140k equity in this property and you want to tell me it doesn’t benefit Mr. Cooper at all if it goes into foreclosure??? I am trying to prevent foreclosure and even stated it was temporary like 3-6 months! How can an individual who has faithfully paid an additional $1,115 a month mortgage payment for 9 months (since my mother’s passing Oct. 17) on top of their existing $1,350 mortgage payment, with a credit score of 720 be denied? I no longer have 2 salaries coming in! Is what Mr. Cooper doing legal when it comes to a person passing away?

My loan servicer has been transferred to "Mr. Cooper". I called to enquire if I should let the old servicer take my auto payment and forward it to "Mr. Cooper", or if I should send a check now to Mr. Cooper. The agent said I had the choice. I argued that sending a check now would mean that I paid twice, and that it was misleading to give the option to customers of paying twice. To make a long story short, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected. Bad start! I finally managed to speak to two helpful agents. By the way, the second agent told me that "Mr. Cooper" did not really exist, this is a fake name to make the company look friendly.

Terrible experience with their insurance check disbursement process after severe hurricane damage. I followed all their requirements but it was one thing after another trying to get funds for repairs. I understand the need for them to monitor the process, but when you provide all the documentation they ask for and follow all the guidelines they have in place and they still delay releasing funds, it is a problem. Every time something went wrong I was told the last person that I spoke to gave me wrong info or did something wrong. I have it all documented. For each of the 4 disbursements there was some sort of incompetence on the part of Mr. Cooper that delayed the funds getting to me by weeks. I had to go to a supervisor in each case. To give Mr. Cooper credit, they did have a nice forbearance program and were helpful in that aspect, but unfortunately the experience with their insurance claims department was so horrendous it overshadowed the good.

Since they already held my mortgage, I didn't have to go through a lot of stuff and it happened within a month. The reps were very good and professional too. However, I was hoping to get a better interest rate than I did, but since I had three credit reports there, they took it from the lowest one. It was from shady mortgage dealings back in the early or mid-2000s and as I was watching that not decrease any, I asked about it and that’s when I found out about it. So, I wanted to refi the primary and the secondary into a single primary. I sold my last mortgage to Mr. Cooper some time ago, so they were who I went to first for my refi. I was hoping that they would have most of what I needed, too. Mr. Cooper's reps were all very friendly and they returned calls. They seem to have insane amounts of hidden fee that add up to thousands of dollars. I've made payments and called to confirm they received them when I'm informed about administration fees, late fees because the payments haven't processed for weeks and so on. And none of these fees are shown on the bill which I get 2 weeks before payments are due. If you don't call you'll never know about them until you try to pay off loan. I'd personally like a breakdown on these fees. This is one of the worse companies I've ever worked with. I would never do it again.

Mr. Cooper was my mortgage company beforehand, and I was getting letters in the mail saying that I was eligible to refinance. I decided to go ahead with it because I wanted to do some work on the house, so I wanted to refinance to get some extra pocket money to do the work. I went with them because they were familiar and the people that I spoke with, before actually going with the refinance, made me feel comfortable about what we were talking about. There was one guy named George and he was my initial contact. He was really good. Then, Nancy took over after my initial application with George, and she was excellent as well. Every time I called, they would say, “This call is being recorded,” they would answer all my questions, and if I had any follow-up questions, as soon as I contact her and left a voicemail, I would be contacted either by email or contacted right back via from the telephone.
The guidance and the information I received were very good. The options that were given to me were discussed very well, and it assisted me in making this decision on whether I would go with the complete refinance or a home equity. I eventually decided that the refinance was better suited for me. I came out with money in my pocket, and I liked that they included my vehicle in the closing. That was just to assist me, to make sure that my income-to-debt ratio was appropriate for the actual refinance. So, they actually assisted me in paying off my vehicle as well, which is good because I bought it a year ago and I had five more years to pay for it. So, now I have no car loan anymore. I would highly recommend them.

All the people I dealt with at Mr. Cooper were great, but we had some major issues with my refinancing and I'm not very happy at all. I had applied for a jumbo loan and, for whatever reason, I was suddenly declined and was immediately offered a different product at a higher interest rate with additional fees. I felt there was a bait-and-switch aspect to the deal and they claimed it was because they work with a third-party for jumbo loans and have no control over it. That's what I heard over and over again, which was incredibly frustrating.
I got screwed. It's gonna cost me tens of thousands of dollars additional because of what we ended up closing with as opposed to what I was originally quoted and promised. Unfortunately, we were 10 weeks in when that problem cropped up and I didn't wanna go through another 10 weeks of pain for the possibility of restarting with another mortgage group. I had to take my bitter pill and swallow it. The documentation people were great and they were fantastic to work with, but the problem is we ran into this issue and I was able to go up one or two levels and talk to somebody who pissed me off even more. After receiving several letters from Mr. Cooper stating that I should consider refinancing, I started the process. The first time I was asked for all types of documents and to justify wanting a cash out. After explaining in detail that it was to consolidate other bills, I was told I needed to reapply later due to excessive other bills. Clearly I didn't learn from that and tried again. My mortgage has always been in good standing and I had over $60,000 in equity on my home. In a roundabout way, I was told that my refinance would be switched from one process to another.
I submitted additional documentation on top of documentation and then communication went ghost. One would assume that the loan officer and processor would communicate what was going on rather than just send requests for documentation (more than what I provided to initially get the loan). Rather, I guess I'll wait to hear from a letter in the mail as to what happened with the loan. I truly feel like this process was misleading and a violation of my trust to a company that I have been consistent with. They want what they want, but don't communicate well at all.

Refinancing with Mr. Cooper got me payments that were a little bit lower, but the big advantage was when I originally purchased both my homes, I had 80/20 loans and both the 20's were interest only, so I wasn't knocking out any of the principal. Now, I've got two loans that are 15-year loans, where the first and second were combined into one. I'm making lesser payments and I'm knocking out the principal. All in all, I'd recommend Mr. Cooper.

My complaint against them though is when they wrote the loan knowing my wife and myself were both on disability, had no savings in the bank, no other assets, we lived from month to month.
I don't understand how a mortgage company can write a balloon payment, due in several years, to somebody who they knew would have no way of coming up with the $48,000 in several years. Did they think we would hit the lottery? Now I am wondering if there is anything I can do to stop them from taking the house? I wonder if I should hire a lawyer? Though that is expensive to do. Mr. Cooper was sending us stuff constantly about refinance but I knew that if we did it, we were not gonna get as good of an interest rate as we already had. But we had been talking about doing a family vacation to Florida and doing Universal Studios. Although we had been trying to save for over a year, we were not getting anywhere. We did a small cash out refi to pay for that and I figured that the longer we waited to do it, the more likely it was for getting an even higher interest rate. The initial call was from a woman and we ended up being on the phone for about 45 minutes. She walked me through everything and answered all of my questions. She happened to call at the right time and by the time I got off the phone with her, I realized the refi was what we wanted to do. I worked with her for about a week then I was handed off to a guy who I primarily interacted with through email, although we did talk on the phone a couple of times, and it all went well.
The process stalled a couple of times while they were waiting for additional documentation though. We had taken out a line of credit against our original home many years ago to buy windows. It remained a line of credit for ten years and we had to have it paid off. At that point, it turned into a traditional loan so some things didn't make sense because the documentation had changed. The account number had been changed so there were two different account numbers for the same thing. I worked with the guy from Mr. Cooper and then he gave me the format to write a formal, three-sentence document to turn into them. I did that and that got us through. The refi has really helped out and I would recommend Mr. Cooper. I hadn’t thought about the fact that we were in an equity accelerated program. We got to skip through house payments which allowed us to save even a little bit more and pay some other stuff down so that was nice.

I've refinanced with Mr. Cooper once back in November and then recently. I've been using the same person and he has been very helpful. He always kept in touch, let me know what was going on, gave me a lot of information, and always answered my questions. He was very there, instead of me always reaching out to them. Mr. Cooper made me feel more comfortable in what I was doing. There were other options and they picked the best one for me. Plus, if I had any issues they were there to fix it. I was able to redo my house and do some upgrades, which has helped a lot. I would definitely recommend Mr. Cooper.

This company which was Nationstar has falsely attempted to foreclose on my home of 23 yrs. & blame the previous lender of Ocwen... Nationstar/aka Mr. Cooper had not applied my payments & denied me a loan modification of which I have completed 6 to 7 times. They ignore you & fail to apply income & add other expenses of which I do not have & I have been trying to work this situation out since August 2015!!! This company is TERRIBLE- & not going by Federal guidelines- Do NOT do business with this awful & not honest company!!! This is my opinion!!!
