I had a PMI on my loan with Mr. Cooper when I first bought my house and I paid enough into it to get rid of that. I wanted to get that off so I talked to Mr. Cooper about refinancing. Their reps were all helpful and prompt and the process was really easy. I changed from a 30-year to a 15-year plan and my payment only went up like $50. Overall, I had a good experience. Everyone was super nice and got things taken care of fast.

There were not strange calls for anything at the last minute or unpromised documents failing to come through - everything was done in a timely and professional manner. Coming into it, I was so worried about the whole mortgage process and everything, but everything was so smooth and done with care and professionalism. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Everything from the first time I spoke with Amal ** in late June/early July was so smooth and transparent to the transition to Robert ** and the entire Mr. Cooper team we worked with was so well done. You will have problems if you do business with these people. Don’t take my word for it. Just do a quick Google search for Mr. Cooper/Nationstar class action lawsuit. It’s a simple formula guys. Find poor/middle class people in need of money (or in this case buy their loans from someone else). Charge them unfair fees or inaccurately calculate what they owe. Make it impossible for them to rectify their account. Hound them to collect until they pay you to go away. Get sued and pay back some of the money knowing you’ll never have to pay any real consequences. Where is our government? Someone needs to stop these guys.

I have bought 6 homes and this was, hands down, the worst experience ever going through the mortgage process. The reason I gave 2 stars is because the pre-approval process was easy. However, once I was ready to buy, the process was disorganized, inefficient, and overly stringent. My contacts kept blaming it on the "underwriter"; however, that didn't explain the fact that I had to send the same documents multiple times and make multiple explanations for the most mundane stuff. Granted, I own my business so there are more hoops to jump through, but I owned my own business for the last 4 houses I bought as well.

The process became worse as the closing date got closer, instead of better. Up until the last few days, the underwriter kept asking for more information - why would he wait for two months to ask me for my business license?!? And they didn't confirm the closing date until a few days before, which made trying to line up cleaners, movers, insurance, etc. a nightmare. In fact, I found out I had final approval from the seller's attorney a half day before Mr. Cooper bothered to let me know, even though I had been begging them for a firm date. In closing, I should also add that the reason I went with them is that my old mortgage company had sold out to them and I had been a customer of theirs for two years - not a single late payment! That and the fact that I had $150K in my savings and an excellent credit rating should have made me a shoe-in. I will never use this company again and am considering re-financing at some point just to switch companies.

I did a refi of my property and I wasn't getting anywhere. I wasn't hearing back from anyone. There was some back and forth with the first person I spoke with. My objective from the very beginning was to go through my own mortgage company to purchase this property. My real estate agent encouraged me to use another company. I ended up using Guild Mortgage for the purchase for that loan. I didn't want to do that but I feared that I was gonna lose out on the property because I had already paid $3,500. Then because of the back and forth delays, I had to pay another $2,500 in earnest money.

Then, I happened to receive an email from Shawn telling me that I was eligible to refinance and remove the mortgage insurance. He also helped me at the beginning of last year. I was so glad that he reached out to me because he was the person that I wanted to talk to. I told him that I was interested in buying a property in Las Vegas for my daughter. And so, we got the ball rolling with that. It wasn't until Shawn got involved that things started falling into place very quickly. He got another rep, Mary, involved and she immediately contacted me. It was amazing how quickly everything fell into place once the two of them got involved.

Then at the very end of the process, Colin got involved. He took the ball and completed everything. It was not easy and there were a lot of complications and delays but he stayed on it. He was absolutely phenomenal. So my experience with all three of those representatives was extremely positive. Also, Guild was trying to get me to do an equity line of credit through a credit union. So, there were delays on their part and it wasn't through any fault of mine or Mr. Cooper. So, I'm better off with the refinance, the way Colin Friday worked it out, because it's to my benefit in the long run.

For the month of March, I had enough money allocated in my checking thinking I only had to pay the bi-weekly amount. On numerous occasions I asked Mr. Cooper to stop sending the paperwork for the payments to my ex-husband since he was no longer in charge of the account whether he was listed or not. They refused. They kept sending everything to him. I ended up four months behind because he wasn't paying it but I wasn't receiving the paperwork to show that he wasn't paying it so that I could take care of it in a timely manner through the court system.

When he died I had the money to do a payoff which I did requesting that the fire and Hazard that was in the escrow not be sent out as I was going to change my insurance company. I was told they could do that no problem. Today I'm woken up from surgery to find out that they paid the other 500 and some odd dollars on the hazard insurance after they were asked of not to and now I owe them $507 before they release my deed. Scandalous. This company is scandalous. I would never ever ever in a million years recommend this company to anybody else.

On their website it states that a person given authorization can get a payoff quote and discuss discuss the loan. They allowed their family member to defer payments as well as apply for a loan modification without my knowledge. When I inquired about it I was told the authorization gives the person permission to modify or defer payments on a loan. Nowhere on their website or online does it state such. I spoke with a supervisor who informed me it stated such on their website. I repeatedly told her she was incorrect. Only after I actually assisted her in finding the authorization part of their website she admitted it should be brought to the attention of her superiors.

After paying thousands of dollars to handle bringing the mortgage current I was recently informed that I now owe them another $13k+ and my new payment will go from $738. to $2777. per month. Numerous bogus fees added and now an escrow added. The new escrow is $21K+??? They really need to get their act together! My monthly payments were too much and I thought it would be easier to switch over to Mr. Cooper for a refinance. There was maybe one week of a couple of emails and phone calls then it took less than an hour to sign all the paperwork. I had a very good rep and she was the one that did the closing. I would then have to look. Another gentleman did the other portion. Everything was professional and very quick. You can call them and they pick up. I also like the Mr. Cooper website. If you pay more, it shows how many months you would save over the term of your loan. It’s very nicely put together. I would recommend Mr. Cooper.

He walked us through every piece of it, answered every question and offered all kinds of information that we weren't really sure what to ask for. Then, the second rep was just as helpful. Although we didn't hear quite as much from him, he did most of the stuff behind the scenes. He was very fast and efficient in getting everything finished quickly.

My mortgage is simple. All I do is autopay it every month and expect a Form 1098 in January to show my mortgage interest paid for the prior year to write it off on my taxes. Every mortgage company I've used in the past 20 years has done this. My mortgage was bought out by Nationstar in mid-2017. I got dozens of emails and mail about how terrific it was that they bought it out, which immediately made me think this was going to be a nightmare. Then they changed their name to Mr. Cooper. Dozens more emails and mail about how fun it was going to be with their new name.

Turns out, although they send me tons of emails about my statement and payments, they couldn't be bothered to mail my Form 1098 or even email me that my Form 1098 was ready. So, since my mortgage was bought out in mid-2017, and my prior mortgage company sent me their 1098, I didn't realize Nationstar had failed to send theirs or that it was even legal not to send one, and I filed my taxes without taking the deduction for mortgage interest paid to Mr. Cooper, almost $4000.

When the form didn't come again this year I realized that now I have to get the form off their website. I know I didn't sign up for that. There are no options for tax forms or getting anything by mail or email notifications about forms. I've had to amend my state and federal tax returns by mail. Applying for financial aid is going to be a pain too with the amendment. My hassle isn't as bad as some people's, but a hassle that shouldn't have happened because my situation is so simple.

Although we’re on a bigger payment with refinancing, it was a lot less time so, we were saving money. It also gave us peace of mind. We had an awesome experience with Mr. Cooper and their staff answered our questions very thoroughly.

I was trying to relay a change in my property tax bill. Come to find out, to my great surprise that someone in Mr. Cooper decided to quit escrowing for my taxes last July 2018 without notifying me. It seems incredible that as a customer there it is not possible to speak directly to someone in the Tax or escrow department. In addition the email they provide for you to reach the tax department is only for copies of taxes paid. You will receive an email informing you of such. On top of all of this in 2018 they double paid my property taxes! In speaking to a person in customer service she had no answer for why my property taxes were no longer being escrowed. All she could do is to put a request in for my property taxes to be escrowed going forward. She tried to get a supervisor or manager for me to speak to but of course they were all busy talking with other customers!

Finally I would imagine that this will probably not be addressed since there is no way to reach anyone by phone except for customer service representatives. They were helpless in relaying my concerns to management. This not a great way to run a company that's suppose to pride itself on customer service. When my mortgage was Citibank the customer support was excellent unfortunately that has not been my experience with Mr. Cooper.

Apparently, they bought out our mortgage from Nationstar who had our mortgage. All our interactions with their reps were positive except for one which was minor. We kept missing phone calls, but it was in a crunch. He was trying to hurry the thing through with us because we were going out of town. We just kept missing each other’s phone calls and that got a bit irritating. But the rep called us back. Other than that, everything else was very smooth. The whole process was very quick and much easier compared to other experiences we've had. Since we refinanced with Mr. Cooper, we had a bit of money to do some repairs around the house that were much needed.

Sent a check to them to the address they specified. They lost that check. After checking with them for 3 weeks I put a stop payment on it and paid via the website electronically on 2/15. Suddenly a payment showed up in history (none had been no payments recorded up to that point) showing my 2/15 payment, but also a payment on 1/31. Then a the next day a reversal of the 2/15 payment, then a new payment for a few dollars less, with the extra allocated to additional principal.

Then a few days later, another payment reversal, and a new due date, and a new higher amount. So within one month they lost a check, reversed two payment, gave me three different due dates, and three different due amounts. The whole time their "welcome" paperwork telling me as my new servicer, that NONE of my terms will change. WTF? I don't care for companies that cannot keep control of their own records.

Instead of having an office, the lady from their company comes to our place. I was a little guard-up as I thought the third party was supposed to be local. Mr. Cooper took over our mortgage and the payment had already been processed, but they processed two more times within a 3 week period. The first time they refunded, but the second time they state there is no record of them taking the money even though it clearly shows in from the bank and we sent them a statement. The problem is they are not refunding the money and additional bills have come out causing overdrafts and there is an automatic payment coming out in less than a week.

We have spoken to several people and have had to escalate since their reps, who have been trying to get us refunded, keep getting overturned by management and records of the payment on their end are not showing. I will accept one technical issue during mergers, but twice and a denial that the second event transpired when we have proof is unacceptable.

With no other options left and management dragging their feet as if we are a company like them and can have money disappear and not notice, we are choosing to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage. We worked patiently with the reps, but waiting weeks for money to be returned that was not even authorized to be taken cannot happen. You would think there would be a sense of urgency when people have lives and cannot wait for a 2 week internal analysis to discover why it happened when the company can refund the money and figure that out on their own time.

Turns out if you only use data from what Mr. Cooper disbursed... disbursements over six months, not 12 months, you're going to come up short. BY... oh about $3K. When I called to fix the situation and ask why they are making payment changes based on inaccurate data, they had no answer. I was a Nationstar mortgage holder and if I hadn’t worked with Nationstar first, I never would have used Mr. Cooper because the name doesn’t sound like a professional name that somebody could trust year after year to do business with. However, Mr. Cooper was the best loan management we've had ever. I refinanced with them a year ago because they gave me a good rate and it worked. This time, I refinanced the house to pay my daughter’s car off so that we could use it to get her another car. She had a Nissan Versa Note that was dangerous and would cost tons of money. We couldn’t get anybody to take it in on trade and with something that she could afford to pay. We had to trade for a car that was two years older and had more miles on it, but at least we know my daughter’s safe.

Mr. Cooper’s service has always been good. The refinance was quick and in less than 30 days, it was in. However, I wasn’t thrilled with the interest rate we got. I never asked for a cash-out but this time, I did. We went from 3.5 to 4 something and that was annoying. Nevertheless, Tom and Lawrence, the mortgage professionals I worked with, were wonderful and polite. Both of them bent over backward to explain stuff and to get me the best deal they possibly could in a very short amount of time. Plus, the package they sent was professionally put together and it was easy to understand what was going on. When I wanted to pay off some of the credit cards, Tom provided all the addresses of where those checks should go to and handled things when Cooper’s end was kinda messing up and causing headaches. He got in there and straightened it out immediately. I would work with either of those two men at any time.

Now we have paid our last modification payment and have not received any of our completion paperwork. It was a good experience.

Throughout the refinancing process, we were able to get good guidance from Mr. Cooper. The only thing that we were caught off guard by was when they came up with the first payment letter versus the closing statement. It was too different. The final agreement that we signed was $11 less than what we’re actually gonna be paying. We felt that wasn’t right and it would be good if that never happens to anyone else again. Basically, they deducted $3600 out of my escrow account and never paid my property tax. Ended up with a 10% penalty. Paid taxes directly since I don’t want a lien or more penalties. Keeps saying they did but have no proof. County provided copies to me of the file they received and guess what, the amount of $3600 for my parcel is not there.

I typically pay extra each payment and asked extra be applied to principal. Two separate months and payment they received one or two days early. They applied as "additional principal" instead of the monthly payment and then mark my account as delinquent. What type of mortgage company has a system that cannot recognize it is receiving the July 1st payment on June 29th? Or the September 1st payment on August 31st? Even in the report to the credit bureau it shows the extra money in the prior months. I had excellent credit that is now ruined thanks to the negligence of this company. I wish they'd sell my mortgage to some other company that knows what the hell they are doing. Sucks that my mortgage got sold to them!

Our FHA mortgage was acquired by Mr. Cooper less than 2 months before we sold our home. The title company facilitating our payoff received a payoff quote dated 12/5/18 good through 12/20/18 with an estimated closing date of 12/14/18. We closed on our home on 12/7/18. Almost 3 weeks later on 12/27/18, I looked up a phone number that had called me but not left a voicemail and discovered it was Mr. Cooper calling. When I returned the call, I was told that our payoff was short and we would need a new payoff quote. They provided a verbal quote and stated that we would need an additional $954.22 to pay off our mortgage.

I spoke with the title company immediately because to my knowledge, our payoff should not have been short. The title company then spoke with Mr. Cooper and relayed the following information: although the town tax had been paid at closing, Mr. Cooper had also disbursed the funds from escrow on 12/13/18. They would hold the remaining funds until the refund was received from the township, and they would not report a late payment to the credit bureaus.

Just over a month and many, many phone calls later, the refund finally processed on 1/28/19 and the loan was paid. However, on 1/30/19, Mr. Cooper reported a 30 day late payment to all 3 credit bureaus. I immediately disputed this with the bureaus and BBB. Mr. Cooper’s responses did not line up with the information we had been told in the past month (every phone call we were told a different amount needed to pay off the mortgage). They said that they changed the credit report data to “No data” as to not negatively affect our credit for the “month that was (not) missed”. However, it still shows as negative on 2 out of 3 credit bureaus. We are still waiting for them to fix this issue as our scores dropped significantly as a result (we haven’t had a late payment on any account in almost 10 years).

While I do hope they rectify the situation, the customer service has been awful. We’ve been told numerous different stories about the situation each time we’ve had contact with Mr. Cooper, and very few of them line up with each other. They claim we requested a payoff quote on 12/14/18, when we clearly did not since we had closed on our home 12/7/18. They also have not refunded the additional $560 to the title company that they claimed they needed to pay off the loan. Additionally, they claimed to have sent $650 (rather than the $850 we had in escrow) to us after the loan was paid off on 1/29/19, but we have yet to receive it over 2 weeks later. I will also add that the representatives hung up on the title company twice while trying to figure out this situation. Should this situation be rectified, I will edit my review at a later date, but until then, I will never recommend Mr. Cooper to anyone for any type of service.

We tried to refinance with Mr. Cooper but the guy that was trying to help us never came through. We decided to do it again - one of the loans was about to expire. Michael was our lender and he was great. He was really kind, nice, and communicated well with me. He made the refinance happen in less than a month. He took care of it really fast. He called me back and let me know what was going on. When we called him, he responded right away.

The first time that we’ve tried to do the refinance with the lender then it was really stressful, strange, and hard because the guy couldn't do it. Nothing was going on and we were in like three months already. The only bad thing about our refinance now is that we could have gotten a better interest rate if we did the refinance the first time. The interest rate was a little bit lower back then. Other than that, everything was good with our refinance now.

After some time on the phone they agreed to refund the payment. They refunded back $14.82. Not at all our mortgage payment. After additional phone calls we had to email them a picture of a blank check in order to get our money back. In fact, the girl on the phone offered to have us text her a picture of the check as we complained that email was not secure. They have our bank information for autopay so why couldn't they just send it back that way. Extremely dishonest. I'm now realizing that I should call Chase and report this. Anyways, we are now waiting for a wire transfer of the rest of our funds. It's Valentine's day and the money we had saved up was stolen by Mr. Cooper and we had to fight with them to get it back. When I needed something, it was a phone call. The two people that I worked with, Kyle and Elizabeth, were really easy to work with. It was just incredibly smooth from beginning to end. My only complaint is that my husband’s name is Robert **. When the paperwork came, it said, “Bob ** aka Robert **.” I didn’t like that because he never goes by Bob and it was all this paperwork that he had to write ‘aka’ on plus the new title says, “Bob ** aka Robert **.” I wished it could have been handled in the beginning. But I had no idea until we signed escrow papers. Despite all that, I’d still recommend them.

Was told I couldn’t (by a Mr. Cooper rep) but was told I’d have a three week window due to the transition. Got a “where’s our money” call from Mr. Cooper today. On that same call I asked to set up auto withdraw using my checking account [unnamed mortgage provider had on file forever]. Seems that all didn’t transfer over. Was also told at that time I couldn’t but again, would have a three week grace period. Guessing by the call today that wasn’t quite accurate. As someone who works with PHI and PII, I get it but the option - by this wonderfully innovative company - should have been to convert all payment etc info and as long as the borrower agreed. She explained nothing was changing but the address for payment, and asked did I have any questions? I asked a few and she answered them. She also informed me of the app they have.

The app is probably the best part. Once you have it setup you just log in and everything is there at your finger tips. You want to look at your escrow payments and balance? It's a click away, you want to make a payment, you click "make a payment" and you can confirm payment and done. Or you can add to principal, escrow, or both. I'm sure if you don't make your payments on a monthly basis would cause a problem as with anything else, but as for me I make my monthly payments and have no complaints and am happy with Mr. Cooper. So if your mortgage gets sold to them don't panic from the bad reviews. Ask your questions when they call and make your payment and it will all work out.

I had two mortgages and I combined them. I called Mr. Cooper and the rep walked me through everything and did all of the initial steps. She was just fabulous. She followed through from the day we started until after everything closed and the payments were made.

When she was done, she passed me on to the loan processor and again he was wonderful. He stayed in touch with me throughout the whole process and followed all the way through to the end. I've gotten mortgages multiple times throughout my life, and this was by far the easiest experience. Start to finish, it was three weeks. My APR was a little bit higher because my original loan was old, so it was back when the APRs were very low, but it still was a good rate. So, that was good. I was able to pay off several debts. And then my house payment with my two mortgages was $1,500 and went down to 677.

I was gonna have to sell my house but Mr. Cooper got me out of a bind. The process was flawless. I emailed the managers that were over the two primary people that I worked with and let them know that their staff was just incredible. They're pleasant to deal with. They pretty much ask you for what they need upfront and don't wait until it's time for closing. They know what they're doing.

Discussing my options with the rep was good and competitive, and some stuff that needed to be done was exemplary.

My loan was acquired by Nationstar Mortgage dba Mr. Cooper and I received a letter that everything would transfer with my account as I had it set up with my previous servicer. Well they missed my town tax payment and I received a delinquent tax bill. I called Mr. Cooper and they acknowledged they missed the payment and that they would take care of it and cover the penalties and interest, since it was their error. Several days letter I received an email that they had paid it all from my escrow, including the interest and penalties.

I had to call back again and they said they would have to submit it for review to their internal tax department. Days later, I receive another call that they haven't been able to get in touch with anyone in their own internal tax department! The fact that they first missed my tax payment, then paid the penalties out of MY escrow when it was their fault, and the time I've had to spend on the phone to get them to resolve this is unacceptable. They still haven't reimbursed the late fees and penalties back to my escrow account. I'd stop paying taxes into escrow but Fannie Mae requires that we pay taxes into escrow for the first 2 years of our mortgage. This is a complete joke and their service is incompetent, slow, and unacceptable.

Mr. Cooper offered me a loan modification pre-approval over the phone in June 2018. The phone representative told me what amount to pay and when to start making the new payments. I complied and Mr. Cooper accepted the first three trial payments and one additional payment. All of a sudden my October, November, December payments are rejected. I thought it was a bank error. I finally called Mr. Cooper in November 2018, learning that they refused payments claiming that they did not receive their loan modification papers back. I pleaded with them to send me a new set of papers and they refused. Ironically, with both their emailing and text capability, I never knew to even expect loan modification papers in the mail, especially since I was offered the pre-approved modification over the phone.

I finally got the papers in January 2019. The papers said “We hope to hear from you no later than Sept 29” and their letter in the package was dated August 30.

Hypothetically if their letter was dated August 30 then they must’ve sent the package out after August 30 which means there was very little turnaround time to have sent it out, picked up by the customer which can easily sit at post office for 2 weeks before being returned and then reviewed, notarized and found this interesting choice of words.

I signed them. Sent them in. They still won’t accept my mortgage payments, claiming I owe them legal fees plus 10 months of mortgage payments. I don’t even believe they gave me credit for my trial payments. It is shocking that they would attempt to foreclose after I sent them 3 trial modification payments and scheduled three more which were refused to now be threatened with foreclosure. I am going to escalate this every which way I can and get an attorney they will not take my house.

Overall, it was both a profitable and smooth process, once we finally came to terms. It felt like a bit like buying a used car prior to actually settling on terms. While there was appeal to having a low document quick and easy loan, as your company already carried the loan, achieving the same terms on a loan that was at least .5% lower per year only made sense. It probably should have been brought up earlier in the process, and it would have saved us both a lot of time. However, once the ball started rolling, and once the company actually figured out who would be handling the process of my loan, it went smoothly and quickly. Thank you to Mr. ** for that.

Mr. Cooper was great. loanDepot was supposed to refinance my loan in December, but they came back with a credit report from the bureaus that was totally false. I pulled all my reports and sent them to loanDepot and said, “This is what I can get my hands on. Where the hell did you get your information?” They said I was delinquent. I was overcharged from my charge account. That wasn’t true because I have no delinquencies. I have 767 points on my credit on all the bureaus. loanDepot denied me the refinance. So, I went to Mr. Cooper to see if they would do it. They did it.

Mr. Cooper ran my credit and my credit was great. Their credit reports were the same as mine. Julio saw that I had been a previous client and he pulled the information up. He made everything easy. It was done within three weeks, and I’m happy as a lark. Kimberly, the lady who I was working with, discussed several different programs and decided on the one that would best fit me and fit my situation. So, it lowered my interest rate by almost a point. It shortened the time period. And I’m still making the same payment so we’re okay.

I had some life-changing experiences and I decided it was time to refinance. I tried Mr. Cooper first and had Jason as my representative. He took me through the process and then I went to other financial institutions to see what they could offer. Mr. Cooper was not quite at par with what the other ones were offering but it was close enough to where I didn't have to redo everything and just roll it over to the same company and my escrow account dialed in. I could've done better but it would've taken a lot more legwork. When I came back to Jason, he pretty much matched what was offered. The APRs were a little higher but the monthly payment is lower which was what I was actually going for because I've retired. Jason was my go-to guy and he was good. He answered my questions and he held my hands through the whole thing. We stubbed our toe here and there but it was nothing major. The transaction was painless and I'm really happy.

I have been paying a mortgage for the past 15 years and I have never encountered the issues I have with this company. My mortgage was sold to these people and I am not happy. I do not want my loan with them and I am looking for ways to get away from them. The first incident with this company was I made a payment to them via the website but something went through on my account not leaving enough funds for them to get paid so I put a stop payment on the check so I would not incur overdraft fees that would eat the remaining portion of the mortgage money up until I get paid a few days later and add the difference. Well, they were determined to get that payment because they changed the name of the company and the amount of the check so that it could go through and it did make my account $347.00 negative.

I immediately called the bank and they explained what the mortgage company did. I called them and they act as if it was legal to do that. It's illegal to change the amount of an authorized amount. A recent problem I paid my mortgage again via the website. A few days had gone past and the money was still in my account. My mother is elderly so I take care a lot of her business, she asked me to check her account online and when I did I noticed that Nationstar dba Mr. Cooper tried to get a payment out of her account and she was charged 30.00 for that. It dawned on me I used her account the month before to make the payment which should not have been saved because I do not save my bank information in no businesses system for that reason I may use another account. Anyways I immediately called Mr. Cooper to inform them of the unauthorized transaction.

I told them that was not my account. I did not have permission to use that account to remove it from the system and get the payment from my account. The lady on the phone Maria told me to erase it from the website which I did while she was on the phone. I also asked her how long would it take for the returned payment to go back to them and she stated in three days. I said then in 3 days I will call and make it from the correct account. She said ok. Well, 3 days later I'm about to call to make the payment when my mother calls me damn near about to have a heart attack. These people tried the payment again after being told that it was not my account and I was not given the authorization to use that account. My mother account was $353.00 negative because they took the money she had paid her bills with causing every one of her bills to bounce and the $212.00 she didn't have.

Here they go again putting me in a hardship because I had to fix her account to what it would have been if they had not run it again. They claim it's the system but you had three days to change it because they were aware the payment was not going through. I was telling my cousin about it and she said it sounds like this sheisty mortgage company I was with Mr. Cooper I almost dropped the phone. I did not sign up to be with this mortgage company and I no longer want to continue business with a business that goes through great lengths to get a payment and not caring about the hardship they are putting people in.

This company has had a civil suit because of their dishonest tactics. You can change the name but you can't change the image. I am writing to any and everyone because something has to be done. It's not ok and I am not going to accept it. I will sue, write Attorney General office whatever I have to do but they will not get over on me and no other hard working family trying to pay their bills.

Then they make the payment ridiculously high and we had to make numerous of calls to find out where the thousands of dollars we had sent been applied on, they once again switched our mortgage payment to like 400$ and were like what on earth! And we call again... Now this has been going on for a year now! Ever since I was switched to these unethical company, how are they still in business??

Anyways, we want to send full payments and they say no, because they won’t apply it, they will continue to add anything over their amount to the overflow and they can’t use that for mortgage payment because they are not full amounts!! What in the hell!! All we want to do is make our payment and get past this! Now they say I owe them a full payment, that we are a payment behind!! What!! They won’t take my money but they will say I am behind?? I say run! They will do you wrong eventually and it’s hard to fix their errors!! My mom as a book of medical issues going on, and all Mr. Cooper is doing is making her health worse. She missed one payment and it threw everything to hell. She was placed on the repayment plan to get her caught up. She did as she was told, and made ALL of her payments every month. They have taken her full payments and placed them elsewhere, and have the audacity to call and harass her saying she’s still behind thousands when she’s absolutely NOT! They place your payments in ‘Suspense mode’ so your money is just sitting there and meanwhile they're sending statements saying you are behind.

How is it possible to send a statement saying you owe $756 and a week later send another one saying you owe over $2k? They claim when I spoke to someone that she was suppose to put down a down payment before she could start the repayment plan. We just found out about that two days ago. Absolutely no one told that to her ever! I told the rep since they record the calls to pull up all of her calls to show no one mentioned that to her. All I kept getting was apologies and them being them, still asking for more money from her. She was caught up, but they are still saying she owes for January and the rep said they received January’s payment on the 17th, so how is that possible. I would advise any and everyone to not go through this company for a mortgage.

Today was a blessed day. I got a job offer from (VA) Veterans Affair, but when I came home to see an ambulance at my house taking my wife to the emergency room because she was having major chest pains because of her arguing with our loan representative Todd ** from Mr. Cooper kind of ruined the evening. Let me explain in detail. We bought a new construction home January 8th of last year, a month later our mortgage was transferred to Mr. Cooper. Two months after moving into the home I lost my job. A couple of days later my wife had a major stroke and in our 29 years of marriage, she has had 4 heart attacks and now 7 strokes. I couldn't go out and immediately get a job because I had to care for my wife because I'm her only caregiver, so we use up our savings and also used up my 401K and at the same time we kept in contact with Mr. Cooper. Let them know what's going on.

But according to Todd ** there is no record of wife talking to anyone and my wife told him not only that we talked to people she has documentation of whom she talked to and how they are going to try to help us work it out, and he just basically called her a liar and then start threatening her that they are going to take the house. She tried tell this gentleman the reason for calling him is to let them know that I got offer a full-time position, and that I’ll be making more than enough money to make the mortgage payment and take care of all the utilities, but this Todd gentleman just basically wanted it to be known that our house will be taken, and we will have to see if Mr. Cooper will even consider working with us to keep our house, so much for customer service.

I've been trying to call to talk to a supervisor but no one's putting me through. I'm just getting excuses. "They’re busy. You can leave a message." Someone told me that Mr. Cooper used to be a collection agency and now they are into mortgages but it seems they try to run their mortgage department like a collection agency with no heart or any type of compassion of what people are going through. Everybody comes across rough times, but we all know collection agencies don't understand, or they choose not to understand that, basically they don't care, so I'm going to continue to try to get to a supervisor. I've got in touch with VA itself as far as trying to help me work with Mr. Cooper. I may just have to get an attorney because I can't seem to find anyone inside Mr. Cooper that want to figure out a solution.

That is when I found out they never paid for the previous year.

I had to redo insurance which they paid. But they are billing me for a one month gap for $151 for the month it would have expired if they paid in first place and time I got new policy renewed. They refuse to take that bill off. But insist it was insurance co. and my agent's fault it wasn't paid. But they never told me I had no insurance for a whole year. Now, Fannie Mae (the investor ) and Mr. Cooper are both threatening if we don't agree to the new modification terms to a loan that was 72k is now 115k. If we don't agree they will foreclose. My previous loan was with Mr. Cooper. And everything went fine on the refinance. I had the opportunity to shop around as far as refinancing. But for me, it was more seamless and less of a headache to stay with Mr. Cooper. When you’re closing and meeting with a closing attorney, and you have to provide a witness, sometimes, that can be challenging, especially if you’re trying to close during the day when no one is available. I had to scramble and try to find someone that would be able to come over to the house and be here for two seconds to sign a piece of paper. But other than that, everybody was fine, informative, and stayed in contact with me throughout the process. And I always knew what step my loan was in. They also added a portal that let me know exactly what part of the process my loan was in or if I needed to add any documents. When I refinanced previously, that wasn’t something that was offered. So, that was a nice surprise.

My past 2 months of mortgage checks have not cleared. This is my final payment and it's taking forever to pay off! When I called Mr. Cooper a few days ago, I was told they hadn't received my checks, so I canceled them and paid Wells Fargo $30 per check to do that! Today, I was told Mr. Cooper is holding my checks and will mail them back. WTF!?!

To pay off my loan I have to request a "final payment quote" and send that form to them with either a certified check or money order. Seriously?!? What a pain in the **! Can I take off the $60 from that? If years of my personal checks were good, why do I need to pay differently now using a different form? Why hasn't this info been included in my bills for the past year? They won't email me the paperwork, so more delays as I now have to wait for snail mail.

Ever since then Mr. Cooper has been calling and sending letters insisting that I give them $35 to pay for their inspector to "inspect" the new roof. They never explain what their inspector will be inspecting for (that we have a roof on the house(?), that the roof is new(?), that the quality of workmanship is acceptable(?) that the new roof does not leak (?) The insurance company was sufficiently satisfied with the new roof that they paid us over $20k. Mr. Cooper has never requested a photo of the new roof or a copy of the final contractor invoice. Why does Mr. Cooper continue to harass us? Oh, did I mention that our mortgage balance is approx. $20k on a house worth over $600k.

Everything went smoothly but I had one complaint. I have a home warranty that was built-in to the mortgage payment and I asked at least two times if this was gonna continue with the new mortgage. They gave me the impression that it would transition over but then I called the home warranty company in the last week and they did not get their payment, so I had to make a manual payment. The ball was dropped on that but it was not a big deal. Overall, the people that I dealt with were good and the whole refinance process was quick. It was done in about three weeks. I got some cash out and I got to skip a monthly payment. I got out of it what I was looking for, so I’m happy with it.

Every month I send a payment electronically that is in excess of my monthly payment due. On at least two separate occasions I called to inform this bank that I wish any excess amount to be immediately applied as additional principal. And yet they have continued to put the money in “unapplied funds” which means that my principal does not go down as fast as it should and I am charged higher interest than I should be paying since the payment is not being applied appropriately.

I am being systematically overcharged because my additional principal payments are put into an “unapplied funds” blackhole instead of being used to pay down my principal. This despite my explicit instructions to apply them to principal every month during my last call to customer service one year ago. So I sent an email this time to again instruct them to apply the extra payment for each month to principal. I am not hopeful and if not resolved, plan to refinance away to a better bank as soon as I file my tax returns this year. All you new borrowers look out. This is the nickel and diming that they use to make corporate profits.

I had a mortgage that was sold to Mr. Cooper. Refinancing with them seemed easier to me. I really wasn’t interested in doing a long-term search. They were my mortgage company already, and so I decided to use them. And I was very impressed with the process with them, so I was glad I did. I called and I got a representative, a gentleman who knew his stuff. He understood and knew what was going on. He assumed some stuff, and he was right on about what he assumed, about what my house was worth, and how much I was in debt. It’s a debt consolidation. Then, I was sent to his loan processor, Sonya, and she was absolutely amazing. Because I’m not the greatest genius on a computer, and when I would get stuck, she would facilitate it. They were both very helpful.

I have a friend that’s in the mortgage business and she’s always complaining about the loan processor. “They’re not at work today,” or “They didn’t get the paperwork in time.” I ran into none of those problems. These people were on their game and knew what they were talking about. They could facilitate something for me, and they did. I applied on November 30th, and I had the loan closed approximately on December 14th. If I panicked, I’d call Sonya up. I didn’t understand one of the questions about homes I owned. I asked her what that meant and how far back was I supposed to go. She said, “No, no, no. They just wanna know if you lived in the last establishment, did you own it? Just write me a note. Just sign a document that you didn’t own it, you were renting, and that’s all. We’ll get that taken care of.” She was very quick to respond.

The only problem I had at the end was they were supposed to disperse the checks on Day X. Somebody didn’t get the checks ready for FedEx on time, it was a weekend, and then I had to wait three more days for my checks to come in. And I told the FedEx guy that I heard they had a storm. He said they didn’t have any storm and asked it it was what they told me at Mr. Cooper. I said yes and he said, “No, they were late getting the checks in to us. So, since you were delayed, here’s the transactions that happened.” But I know that happens in any business, that somebody’s rushed and they don’t get the paperwork. I know FedEx and UPS are hard sometimes to meet the deadlines.

Since I refinanced with Mr. Cooper, the APR went up a little bit, not anything that terrified me. I thought it was still good. And I’m not stressed anymore. I had to do some remodeling. I got burnt by an illegal flip on a house I bought. I had to tear down a whole room and rebuild it because the city condemned the room because it was built wrong. The plumbing and the electrical were wrong. And I could have died in a fire for all I know. So, I got money from the gentleman that sold me the bad house. But there’s still other things. He lied on disclosures, too. So, I was over my head. And the refinance with Mr. Cooper went smoothly, I don’t have any more debt, and I’m saving to do the last couple of things I have to do on the house. So, I’m happy.

How can Mr. Cooper use monies to cover (so-called) back debt, but yet, foreclose on me and without communicating what they've done and why. It don't make sense nor does it add up! In addition to Mr. Cooper confiscating 5 months payments, they were trying to extort $14,000 plus dollars from me, to keep our home in less than two weeks notice? I would have paid if I had the money they were demanding but I offered what I had. It's not fair and it's not good business.

I never thought of selling or losing my home. I most certainly offered to pay what would be right but Mr. Cooper put it so out of reach. I need to know what to do to keep my home. I feel that Mr. Copper crossed the line of ethics, poor accounting, poor communication and delivery of notice and falsely appropriating payments and improperly charging fines. I don't believe that they proved to you that I was delinquent in a true fashion or that foreclosing was properly warranted. As I've said, I am not asking for a hand out. I will pay what I (truly) owe to have kept me in good standing, and as far as costs to resend or un-wind this unjust foreclosure, can be discussed.

It has been an extreme challenge to get paid from Mr. Cooper as the funds are now in their bank account. I handle personal property so the check should have not had the mortgage included to begin with! I am hoping that they release the funds and stop holding on to money that doesn’t belong to them.

I was very satisfied with the refinance process with Mr. Cooper. All of the representatives were knowledgeable and courteous, and answered any question I had. The only complaint I have is that the cost to refinance was expensive, in my opinion. But again, I’m very satisfied and happy about refinancing my home.

I had a medium-sized debt that I had to consolidate and get better rates, and looking around, I found that my best option is getting a refi, getting a cash-out. And having my mortgage with Mr. Cooper, it was convenient going with them as well for the refi. I didn't have to do a whole lot. They got all my information already. They also waived the application fee and the inspection fee. The rate was a little higher than others, but just the convenience was worth it. I dealt with two of their personnel and I was happy with all the information that they gave me. They're very friendly, professional, thorough and straightforward. They don't hide anything from you. I really appreciate that from them. With the refi, I was able to pay everything I owed -- that alone is a big plus for me.

Everything went smoothly with Mr. Cooper. They bought our loan from Citibank, and they sent me an email talking about refinancing. My wife and I was thinking about it, so we went ahead and answered back, got some information, and wound up deciding to go ahead and do it. They got back with us real quick. In just a few minutes, they had us all the information that we needed to do. They walked me through every step of the way in the website. Any question I had, they answered quickly. They sent me an email containing what I needed to do, and exactly what I needed to supply. It was pretty simple. We already had a pretty low interest rate, but we were able to pull some equity out so that we could build a new outbuilding that we wanted to build. We just closed a few weeks ago. We've already allocated some of the money for the projects, and it was nice not to have a house payment for the month.

If I could give negative stars I would! My husband called since he is furloughed due to the Trump/Congress BS. He has the paperwork stating he is furloughed until god knows when. They basically told my husband they don't have "Any Programs Available Right Now" and they didn't care and just wanted their money. Well good luck! You want your money go knock on the White House front door and ask for it. We didn't ask to be put in this position. We didn't have any issues with Vantage West Credit Union extending us a reprieve with our vehicle loans and credit card. And it's not like we never made our payments...

In fact every month we made our mortgage payment. Don't waste your time dealing with these useless people. If they wanted to be a great company they would take into account that Federal Employees still have to go to work and will eventually get paid. And would be understanding. They seem to post online if you are part of a wildfire/natural disaster and our hearts go out to you give us a call and we will work with you. Really! I wonder how many people they actually worked with? I will be looking for another mortgage company to go through.

They bought our mortgage 1/2 way thru the year and they tried adjusting our mortgage to a lower payment. We disagreed and kept paying original higher amount and noted the difference in amount towards taxes and insurance. We got a year end bill with an add for $500 from tax adjustments and initial lower mortgage adjustment set by Mr. Cooper company. That being said now going into 2019 they would like $4500 up front in order to maintain the mortgage. They stated they needed to keep min $3000 in escrow? In about 20 years this is a first for me. They can’t explain why with a $500 short fall in 2018 they need to collect $4500 up front for 2019. Going to be looking for a local bank to switch to. This company has been a joke to try and deal with and communication has been comical. They also constantly call contact numbers trying to sell additional services. I wish Mr. Cooper Company on no one.

I applied for a home Re-fi bundle which included funds to pay off credit card debt. I learned about the offer through a clear mailing and conversations with knowledgeable bankers, particularly, Michael **. The process was relatively smooth and speedy and the cash most welcome. I have not been overly pleased with the new name, Mr Cooper, but the company is excellent.

Mr. Cooper is good. They have better interest rate, lower payment and the loan process took than less than two weeks. Their reps were wonderful. They stayed in contact. Every day, I talked to someone. They were always reaching out to me whether by phone or by email. I was impressed. Mr. Cooper is a company that you could trust.

Even though I have more than enough money in my escrow, I cannot get a single person there to pay the county tax on our home. I have been in contact since October 29 2018 and here it is 1/9/19 and still not paid almost $100 in fines now and still not paid. I have been told about 5 times that it will be paid by such and such date. Then that date comes and goes still not paid. I am beyond furious this is a scam business and the fact that the departments cant talk to one another just through email is ludicrous. This is a horrible mortgage company and I am so angry that they bought my loan and I am forced to use them!
