My mortgage at Nationstar was sold to Mr. Cooper. I have been paying Mr. Cooper for over a year now? I have never been late with my mortgage-ever. I went online on May 3rd to pay May's payment. I received a message saying I couldn’t do it online and I had to call them. I called them and they told me they couldn’t discuss anything with me because my account was flagged, that it was in litigation! They told me I had to have my attorney call them! I told them I didn’t have an attorney! I told them I never received anything in the mail, and there is no legal proceeding going on with me. They put me on hold. When the girl came back on the phone she said that she put in a request to another department (legal department?) and it would take them three days to get back to her. She said it looked like it might be a mistake. I never heard from her, so I called back on May 11th. Stressing out the whole week about this!
I got the same exact response from this girl, only she said she’d call me back in two days, and never did. I called back on May 15th. Again, I was told they couldn’t discuss anything with me and there was no one that could. I told her it was a mistake and she said no, it wasn’t. I asked her if I needed to hire a lawyer, and she said yes!!! So now I had to pay for a lawyer just to figure out what was going on with my account!! Now I’m freaking out because I’m thinking there’s been identity theft or a scam! I call the tax assessors, I check my credit, I’m spending HOURS of my time on this!! And my money!! And I called the original girl I spoke with on May 3rd. She said she’d put an emergency call into the legal? Department. This was May 16th. She called me back later that day and said they were not taking the flag off and that she couldn’t discuss it with me. May 17th, and no my mortgage is late! For the first time ever!!!
My lawyer contacted their legal department and has been waiting to hear from them. I get a call today from the same girl, who tells me the flag has been taken off. I ask her what it was about, and she tells me she can’t discuss it!!!! Can you imagine??!! How is it that they had complete and total control to turn my life upside down leaving me helpless and afraid that someone was trying to take my house??!! And there was no compassion at all for the fact that my life had been turned upside down by their mistake! Which I know it was, they just aren’t saying it!! It was so nonchalantly told to me that the flag was off and that was it. No explanation, nothing!!!! I cannot trust this company!! And on top of that I had to hire a lawyer to defend myself when I had done nothing!!!!! I will surely be looking to refinance!

Updated on 06/05/2019: Since I'm unable to update my previous review, No surprise there, I'll put a new review on the site. My issue STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. Initial issue started APRIL 12TH!!! It is JUNE 6TH. After all the help I have received from the department manager in Arizona, my account still doesn't reflect correct information. I have been in contact with her several times, she has told me multiple times that she is getting things resolved. The last phone call we had together, she told me that she put in a request, and it was "denied". She told me that she put in a second request with an approval code to make sure it was done. Now I'm not sure what the issue is in this situation but clearly they don't even have communication within the offices for a request from a Manager to be denied. Currently waiting for an answer, still...
I also had her put in a "request" for a detailed transaction history for my account so I can see everything that they have done to my account. But she said I most likely won't get it, since it's an "internal system". I will state again for the record, that Mr. Cooper will do anything to hide the details about their business practices. Before signing up for any of their services, I'd check out the 50+ pending lawsuits they have going on. One of which is supposed to be happening this month with a potential settlement in the millions due to all the issues in all of these reviews. My issues with Mr. Cooper are not going to stop here on this website. After doing a little research, I have found phone numbers for the CEO and their Chief Communications Officer. They will be hearing from me one way or another. Now I understand that I am a tiny little fish in a VERY big pond, but this Pond Scum of company should not be in business any longer.
Original Review: To summarize: Mr. Cooper is a complete ** that doesn't listen to the customer(s), no communication, they prolong issues that can be solved in a matter of days & so much more. If you need further information, keep reading. My loan originally was through Pacific Union. PacU, was bought out by Mr. Cooper and payments were to officially move over February.
From DAY 1, there were nothing but issues. Let me explain:
1. My credit score dropped 125 points (yes you read that right). Instead of my loan being "transferred" it was reported as being "closed" and a New account opened. After waiting for 4 months for everything to finalize on my credit report, my score only went up 24 points.... An NO, there were no other changes in my credit report accounts. This issue is still unresolved.
2. When MC took my loan over they did a new Escrow Analysis. which is fine, except they came back with my payment LOWERING close to $300. UMMM, what? What person approved a payment lowering that much - that should have been a red flag and some further investigation was needed! I had to call them myself and tell them that they were missing the city/school taxes from my escrow, and that they needed to redo it.
In the middle of all of the escrow nonsense, there came more issues:
3. Some random person decided to reverse my March payment (without my knowledge or approval, or even an explanation as to why!).
4. Since I wasn't aware that my payment has been reversed at the time, I made a large escrow payment (I switched insurance companies and was paying back was just paid out).
5. MC took those unapplied funds from the March reversal and applied them to escrow (which was never told to do!).
THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET CONFUSING FOR THEM:6. When I called in, they then proceeded to tell me that I owed for February (because that payment was applied to December payment - which they said I didn't pay, even though PacU transaction history stated it was paid (& REMEMBER MC JUST BOUGHT MY LOAD IN THE NEW YEAR); & I owed for April payment (since they took my actual April payment and applied it to March). SO AT THIS POINT THEY ARE SAYING I OWE MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR FEB & APRIL.
7. MC required me to send in my bank statements, transaction history, blood type, hair from my fist born to PROVE TO THEM, that I in fact did make my payments - all because some idiot was messing with my account and thought they knew what they were doing. After all of that they still couldn't figure out what was going on and insisted that I did not make my payments, even though I provided every transaction number for my payments. THEY WERE REVERSING PAYMENTS APPLYING FUNDS TO THE WRONG STUFF AND THEN COULDNT TELL ME WHAT THEY WERE DOING OR WHY!
8. At some point during all of this they told me that I needed to pay "X" to have my account reflect what is was supposed to. So to try and help alleviate all the BS, I made the extra payment thinking I could get this settled, them owe me later on, and then have this looked into without the stress of my payments reporting "late" on my credit. WELL... that didn't fix the issue either... after making the payment the STILL told me I owed for April... like WTF??
9. I asked the Rep for a detailed transaction history (because at this point, I'm more qualified to do their jobs than they are) and I was going to figure it out. All they sent me, was the transaction detail that I can print from offline. THEY HIDE THEIR INFORMATION AND DON'T SHARE DETAILS ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT.
10. It's been a month at this point that my case has been in the "escalation department" and all that has come out of it was stress and a whole lot of back and forth of them telling me "we are working on it and that we are trying to figure out what's going on" and of me telling them "this is what you need to do to fix it, and this is your problem".
-I finally called after being ignored for over a week, with no phone calls returned, and no emails returned. I spoke with the "escalations department" Manager in a different branch, and gave her a rundown of the situation. She told me she would look over it and call me back that day. She did call me back- but I missed her call. Ended up speaking with her the following day. She told me: "They applied your payments to the wrong thing, which should have never happened. I'm going to process a correction, and you will be good to go to make May's payment."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! It took this woman (SHOUT OUT TO HER FOR DOING HER JOB!) less than 24 hours to find the issue (the issue that I told her was the issue, along with the other team member that was supposed to be correcting this situation), and the ACCOUNTING team couldn't take my information and get their crap together in a MONTH to find "missing money".
As of right now, I'm waiting for the corrections to be posted to my account, and then I get to have them start the process of fixing my escrow account... what joy this is going to be... I'm just in awe of how a company like this is still open and operating, and the thought of all the other people out there that they are doing this same thing to just infuriates me. When I was on the phone with the original rep, She told me that "they have to have 30 cases open a day, which is why it takes so long to get things processed between them and the accounting department". 30 cases? Why on earth do you have a department full of employees that are required to work on escalation cases??? What are y'all doing wrong?! APPARENTLY EVERYTHING.

In December 2018 I contacted Mr. Cooper to inquire about purchasing a home in Texas. Our current home loan was with Mr. Cooper. I was told and sent a letter of pre approval by a loan processor with Mr. Cooper. In January my wife and I found a home in Texas and made an offer then deposited earnest money for the purchase. When we got home from Texas we completed all the required loan documents along with the required statements of earnings, tax reports etc. These were sent and received by the processor. Then we waited and after several attempts to contact him with no answer I contacted a supervisor only to find out the processor had quit and no one had picked up his files!! We had to start the whole process over again.
Without going into detail it became a long and stressful journey with promises that all is well then kicked back for more redundant info that they already had. Over and over and over excuse after excuse for the slow process one person blaming the other then blaming the underwriters. We almost lost the home due to their poor practices. If I had known about the prior lawsuits against the company when they were Nationstar prior to being Mr. Cooper I would have never used them. I would never recommend anyone to use them. A couple of the people I dealt with at the company were helpful but passed the buck to someone else and caused further delays.

I received a phone call about refinancing from Mr. Cooper. My credit was good enough that they could give me a cheaper payment. They sounded good to me, so I said, “Okay, let’s see what you got.” The refinancing gave me a better rate. It saved me some money. It made my payments less and I went from a 30-year term to 25. I cut five years off my loan. Their reps were great, too. We’re very happy with our experience with Mr. Cooper.

My account was switched over automatically to Mr. Cooper. I was asking about my payment and making sure everything was good with it. The first guy might have been brand new ‘cause he really had no idea how to answer any questions. But I got it figured out. I refinanced through Mr. Cooper just to get a lower interest rate, and everything went really smooth with the next person. They did everything within a week. They were really well informed, worked quickly, and didn’t have me do much of anything as soon as I gave them the green light. So everything was great on that end.

They were very timely, very informative and the process was laid out well in advance. I understood everything every step of the way and there were no surprises. I didn't have to do anything. Once I agreed and we said, "You're going to get a point off of your interest and we're gonna be able to get this done within a manner of days," it was all just automatic 'cause it's been less than a year since I bought the house so everything was still up-to-date. I have been trying to setup bi-weekly payments since Jan 2019 and its Mid-May 2019 and still have no resolution. I have made 9-10+ calls to resolve this and finally asked for a manager and basically stated unfortunately she can't do anything. Back story: I have been calling for months and every agent is telling me to do certain things for my bi-weekly payment to start. I had paid the month in advance payment TWICE and now they are asking me to make that payment AGAIN for the third time for my bi-weekly payment to start.
First time, they never processed my application so the extra payment I made was never carried over. I had to make yet ANOTHER advance monthly payment to start my bi-weekly payment AGAIN with same issue that my application was not processed. Then, I called again and made sure while I was on the phone that I do not have to do anything else in order for my bi-weekly payments to start. They said I need to be one month advanced payment status, so I made the payments WHILE I was on the phone. During the phone call I made sure with the agent that there are no further actions I need to take and he assured me that I do not need any thing and my payments will start 3 May.
Payment was not taken out so I called back, apparently it did not because my autopay was set up and in order for bi-weekly payments to be in effect I need that off. I was not notified of that by the agent or an email of "rejection" due to that. I called again to ask why it was not taken out 3 May and they said because my account was not showing advanced month paid, so I said I will absolutely not do that since I have made at least 2 advanced payments at their request prior to my call. She assured me that she talked to "that department" and said no extra payment is needed and my bi-weekly payment will start 10 May.
I once again confirmed if that is all I need to do for the bi-weekly payment to start. She responded there are no further actions needed from me and my payment will start 10 May. I checked my statement 14 May (Today) and no payments were taking out. I called yet AGAIN, asking why it was not taken out, apparently it was rejected because I was not in advance month payment status which means I had to pay advanced monthly payment YET AGAIN. Again, I was not notified of the rejection and the two DIFFERENT agents assured me that I do not have to do anything because the department took care of it. I asked to speak to the manager regarding this, and the manager stated basically "I am out of luck" and unfortunately there is nothing she can do until my account shows advanced month payment. Until then, I cannot start my bi-weekly payment!!!
So to summarize,
1. they are requesting 3 seprate times advance payments from me to start bi-weekly payments.
2. Three different agents (including manager) all telling me different things.
3. Been in contact to resolve this since Jan 2019 and now it's May 2019 and still no resolution unless I pay extra monthly payment (according to the manager).
I will be shopping for a new mortgage company after this experience!!!! This has been an unreal experience for as simple as setting up bi-weekly payment.

I wanted to use some of my equity to do some home improvements such as a new roof. When you refinance, your loan gets assigned to somebody else through a broker. In my case, I was contacted by Royal Mortgage then my mortgage was assigned or sold to Mr. Cooper. I’ve had good experience with Mr. Cooper so far. My daughter was looking to refinance and I recommended to her to give Mr. Cooper a call.
Customer service has always been really friendly. My initial refinance through Royal Mortgage was initially a 15-year thing. I contacted Mr. Cooper and extended that to 30 years so that I could get my payment down. They were very helpful and very easy to work with. They were also very knowledgeable in helping me to decide on what kind of loan to go with. They explained to me about having money every month as opposed to just paying your loan off in 10 years. The first issue I had was on getting in touch with my originator and processor. Answering the phone was not one of their strong suits and even though their voicemails say they will return calls in two hours, this rarely happened. Most of the time I had to call back to finally get someone on the phone. The second issue was on dragging their feet. I had mentioned many times with many weeks notice of the day I needed to close. At 6pm the day before that date, they finally scheduled my closing. Not because of anything I was missing, they just "hadn't gotten to it".
Finally, and most frustrating was doing my paperwork wrong or losing paperwork. They asked for the same docs multiple times and then I got the "oh, I already have that" or "you already sent that to me?" On the last day before closing, TWICE I had to go back to my bank for another wiring of funds because they miscalculated the closing money needed. It wasn't small amounts either, one was $5000 and one was $700. How do you make errors like that? At the end, we closed on time but they added a TON of stress to the process which could have easily been avoided had they done their jobs.

My overall experience with the refinance of a mortgage was not always a smooth process. The one thing that held up the process was when the underwriter had question about recent credit inquiries. I had explained to the best of my ability including dates and reason why, but that was not enough. My original mortgage was assigned to Mr. Cooper. They've been servicing my loan since the beginning of the year. We went into the plans of refinancing after six months through the IRA loan through the VA welfare refinance to get a lower mortgage and interest rate. I checked two other companies and they were all about the same price as Nationstar or Mr. Cooper. I decided to go with Mr. Cooper because it would be easier for the fact that I already have an account with them.
The reps were really good and helpful. They made sure everything was smooth and I was told all the options I had. The money I had to put forward, I'd get a certain interest rate. They explained everything to me and answered all the questions I had about refinancing to lower the interest rate. The whole process took about two weeks. It was really quick. I'm happy with Mr. Cooper and their services. I have recommended them to a friend.

I had an FHA loan and wanted to cash out refinance. Since I lease an apartment for work during the week they will not consider my home as a primary residence. The problem is they had me waiting and waiting when they knew it was an issue. I asked why the tracker was not updating (I ASKED) and never got a straight answer until after I paid for and got an appraisal. The house appraisal was good. If your loan processor's name is Olivia, run for the hills. She does not have time, and told me so. And, she gives false hope and information. When they got my lease letter they had what was needed to turn down the loan. Why string people along for a couple of weeks. I was already delayed a couple of weeks due to an FHA case number issue. At least Olivia's boss was trying to help.

My experience with Mr Cooper has been a complete disaster. I was set up with a loan modification and paperwork to complete with a notary. I completed the paperwork and returned it. The paperwork was never processed and I called back multiple times being told they had received the paperwork but it was not processed and to continue to make payments laid out on the document and when the payments were due. I called back multiple times to check and was always told the same thing and this destroyed my credit. The loan modification had me paying my first payment 2 months later and slightly less each month but their system continued to show that I was making payments late. 2 months after the documents were sent back and several calls to customer service later I was finally told there was an issue with the way the notary had signed.
Each time I called an “escalation ticket” was submitted to resolve my issue. However it was very rare for someone to follow up on this escalation and if they did they would leave a voicemail where they would have you contact the main customer service line... where I would have to explain the whole issue again and they would create yet another escalation ticket. Finally I had new paperwork sent out to sign and set up one of their notaries. They were supposed to show up tomorrow and I had not received a confirmation call. So I called back yet again, explaining the whole story yet again, only to be told the notary was cancelled as well as the loan modification because they had not received the paperwork in time. Now they are charging me for the months they told me not to pay and the higher amount they said I did not have to pay.
Through all of this I was assigned a “dedicated loan specialist” who only reached out to me one time a week ago after most of the damage was already done. She did not reach back out to tell me the notary was cancelled or the loan modification was cancelled. I attempted to send a message to them online since nothing is accomplished through the phone. When you attempt to send them an email through their dispute center you get an error “sorry, we’re unable to send the email”. I explained to the representative today nothing will come of this escalation ticket so what else can be done... His response was nothing. This ticket is the only way anything can get resolved. He also informed me that after reviewing logs of at least 5 times I have been told a ticket was submitted only 1 ticket has ever been submitted on my behalf.

Our home loan was transferred over to Mr. Cooper from Pacific Union Mortgage in Feb 2019. We were on a repayment plan with Pacific Union and when the account was transferred over we had already made one of the repayments to Pacific Union and only had 3 more payments left to pay on the repayment plan with Mr. Cooper. Every month our statements would never reflect the payments we made, but the website showed the correct amount owing. I took screenshots of the website every month for proof since their paper statements were not correct. Every month I contacted Mr. Cooper and was told the same thing; oh I see where you made your payments and I they just haven't caught up yet with everything to reflect the correct amount.
Well I made the last payment of the repayment agreement on 5/01/19. I log into our Mr. Cooper account to see if the current amount due would reflect a zero balance like the customer service rep told me it would. Instead it showed that I owed $8,700. They also removed all the above tabs that showed that I made each payment and what month I made them on the repayment plan (thank goodness I took screenshots of the website page every month).
I spent over an hour on the phone with them today and everyone is clueless, they have no knowledge or record of me sending in any payments to them. I finally got a supervisor on the phone and just as he picked up, he mysteriously got disconnected and never called me back, he said his name was Fernando. I then called back and could never get through to him again, nobody knew who he was or how to find him. Even looking in the notes they couldn't see anything. So I asked for the corporate office number, the customer service Rep had no knowledge of there being any corporate office or having their number.
So I hung up and researched. Here is the CORPORATE NUMBER TO MR. COOPER ALIAS NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE (469) 549-2000 Office hours Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. They were closed when I tried to call. I will call them in the morning. If I get the run around again, I'm contacting an attorney and have this company investigated. I will also file a lawsuit for the pain and suffering I have had to go through since this company took over our loan. This company needs to be investigated, they seem shady and are stealing peoples money.

Customer service at Mr. Cooper has been great. We have been working with them for 12 years now and they have been getting back to me. I tried to use Quicken Loans but then didn't have a good experience. So, I decided to go with Mr. Cooper again. It was easy discussing my refinancing options with them. Refinancing with Mr. Cooper has helped out with some of our bills. The whole thing went pretty well and everything was on time.

Mr. Cooper was not the original loan processor, but I absolutely love their website and the ease of use. The only issue I have is, they asked me to save paper by using the online billing, but they solicit by mail monthly. Which omits that “good will” of saving paper.

I was notified by the bank that held my mortgage on my second home in Florida that they had been bought by Mr. Cooper. I was contacted by a representative from Mr. Cooper that welcomed me and then explained the process of the change. He asked whether or not I was interested in considering a refinance of a home equity that I had at the time on my home here in Pennsylvania. The part that I didn’t like was that when I would be emailed information, it was only allowed to be online a certain time before it was no longer available. I did not and do not have a smartphone, so I didn’t upload stuff. I did download it, but I found that a little annoying.
Their guidance was okay at times, but at other times, it appeared that the right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing. When it came to timing me up for the closing, I specifically said I did not want the closing clause to be included in the loan itself. They emailed me the closing document, and it included that. I had to contact the person that was handling it, and they re-adjusted things. Then I was told, when the person from the closing outfit came for me to sign papers, that I should have a certified check for the amount that they told me was due for the closing cost. So, I went to the bank, got the certified check, came back, had an email from the man who was supposed to be helping me through this process and sent them an email saying, “I have the certified check, so that’s taken care of.” He called me and said, “I’ll have to check.”
Then, I was notified that I wasn’t supposed to have the certified check. It was supposed to be an electronic check. So, I had to go back to the bank and deposit the certified check back to into my checking account, and then I paid $30 to have the amount wired. I called and got the closing payoff amount for the HELOC loan that I had on my home here. Because he couldn’t seem to get them to do it, I took care of it. However, I was told again that with the one credit card I said to include, they said they would send me a check for that amount and I would send it in, but the money for the HELOC loan would be emailed or electronically sent to the bank. That wasn’t the case as they sent me a check for the amount for the bank, so I had to go down there. And the amount was not what they were told, so for the sake of two cents, I spent a half hour there and they got it straightened out at the bank.
When I first talked to the person, they indicated that the interest would be what it had been with the bank that had owned the mortgage loan. But it wound up to be 4.5% instead of a 3.85%, which was a full point lower than the interest I was paying on the HELOC and on the credit card that I included. Another thing was I specifically said I wanted it to be only for 10 years. I was notified by them that they couldn’t do it. It had to be 15 or 20 years. I called them back and said, “I don’t wanna bother if it’s not for 10 years.” Then, they somehow came to agree that they could do it for 10 years. So, I’m paying an extra of almost $500 a month in paying it off, and I am soon going to fill out paperwork to have it be bi-weekly because I wanna get rid of it.
I was in the midst of a lot things here with my own life and I just wanted to get it over with, so I did not take the time to compare the cost of different things. I possibly could’ve done better on the closing clause, but that was something that I didn’t do. I would recommend people to shop around to see whether or not some of the services that were provided could have been offered at a lesser rate by somebody else.

The interest rates were pretty high when we bought our house. We wanted to get a lower interest rate so we inquired about refinancing. Mr. Cooper has been good so far that we’ve been with them the last year so we wanted to stay with them. The application process was easy. It was online and straightforward. The rep communicated really well and was able to waive some of the items like in appraisal to save us some money. There were no surprises and no hidden costs. Whatever they said that it would be, it was. They also walked us through every step. We’ve done refinances before and this one was by far the easiest, simplest, and very quick, too. It was an overall really good experience. Since refinancing, we have lower payment and savings over the course of the loan.

Then Mr. Cooper called me out of blue, and I said, “Yeah, let’s do it.” I didn’t think my credit was up to par yet, but I needed to get the refinance done so that I could have money to complete the house. Everyone was very professional and on-target. Things went quickly in about a week, and I have no complaints about it. I wouldn’t change anything, other than having my mortgage to be raised up a few dollars. I’m using the money to redo my front yard and backyard. I’m able to get my house complete now. I had to send bank statements to them 4 times over a period of 2 months, every time waiting extended periods for them to reply. In every contact with them I told them the stress of the thought of losing my home was causing migraines and health issues and how I would appreciate a quick resolution. They took a ridiculously long amount of time to resolve the issue and never even offered an apology. Mr. Cooper purchased our home loan from our original mortgage company about two years ago. We have always paid online and have never had an issue up until March 2019. I always make two partial payments due to my paychecks. Again never an issue. On March 8th I made my first half of my mortgage payment. On the 21st I made my second to which they took two different amounts from my checking account. My wife and I have an 8 month old and a two year old and we live paycheck to paycheck. Due to Mr. Cooper taking multiple amounts out of our account we were “overdraft”. It took over a week and 6 calls to have the money reimbursed.
By this time other bills and personal purchases were made that we had to make and another 120$ in overdrafts were charged to my checking. Mr. Cooper should be responsible for these. If the second amount they took was never taken then my bills and other purchases would of been without my bank fees. To top this on March 21st they proceeded to make multiple bogus deposits and corrections on my Mr. Cooper account. I have called daily after March 21st and beginning of February to figure out what they are doing. Somehow through this mess of them taking multiple transactions and then finally reimbursing me for what shouldn’t of been taken I’m told I’m late for March’s second payment? Since then I’ve tried to get explanation on some un-applied funds I have in my account that they cannot give me an answer about.
So maybe 30 days go by of trying to get an answer that nobody wants to answer and I get a foreclosure letter. Apparently I’m 30 days late on 836$ and I get a foreclosure notice? I’ve been trying to resolve this but to no help, just get the beat around from customer service. Daily calls of I need to make a payment, e-mail payment reminders daily. So I figured I can’t lose my home over this so I agree to pay the 836$ that I’m apparently behind. Make a payment agreement which I never received any paperwork on yet, to spread the 836$ over 3 months on top of my normal monthly mortgage payment. OK! Whatever it takes to keep my home.
Yesterday 5/1/19 I received a call stating I have 14 days until the For-closure process starts. I have until 5/31 to make my first installment payment and I’m getting calls about foreclosure starting in 14 days? 60 days have passed. I have been 100% been positively working to resolve this matter and even agree to pay the 836$. Don’t forget the overdraft fees I got for your wrongdoing and the 478.94$ and 302.40$ of unapplied funds you can’t explain to me where they are. This is extremely bad business practices, threatening foreclosure, customer service beating around the bush, won’t answer my questions, can’t talk with the same person ever, no supervisor on shift to help. I’m fully onboard trying to resolve and you just want to push our family into foreclosure.

I could have gone digging somewhere else, but it was very convenient working with Mr. Cooper. However, we had negotiated an equity loan half a year ago and the team that was working on it was really good, but they said that when the interest rates change, I might wanna reconsider and run another loan. We are in the middle of a fight with Mr. Cooper. We are new customers after refinancing our home mortgage last November. Mr. Cooper took over our mortgage from our originating lender in January. We made a payment to our original lender prior to it being sold to Mr. Cooper, but ended up being given to Mr. Cooper when everything transferred over. Just as it was to work out, as our original lender has confirmed. Our first payment with Mr. Cooper was then not due until a month later. We asked for the payment that had already been applied to be applied to our first payment (this was January). They agreed to that and made it happen. But, within the last few weeks, Mr. Cooper is coming at us for that payment, claiming that our original lender asked for it back and they gave it to them.
We have been in contact with our original lender and have documentation of our loan transaction with original lender and they have never requested or received that payment back. Now, Mr. Cooper is stating that we are behind, even though we have paid every month that we have been sent a statement for. No one will listen to us and we have been moving up the chain of command, but so far, nothing has panned out. Either their system has been hacked and someone is stealing from us and most likely other customers OR Mr. Cooper is stealing money from us and most likely other customers. Either way, it is on them and not us and we are so infuriated. This experience has been nothing shy of a nightmare!!!

The previous mortgage lender that held our mortgage was very good, but Mr. Cooper is better in regard to the loan and the website which is very user friendly.
The customer service is absolutely excellent, too. They were able to explain and break down if I had a question in regard to my mortgage. So, it was never a question of, "I don't understand this." They are awesome. I've not had this type of experience in my mortgage company in a long time, so I'm glad that Mr. Cooper picked up my deal. I'm glad to be customer. I'm glad to be able to get my rate reduction. My wife and I just came out of a Chapter 13 and Mr. Cooper kept it simple which made it easier for me as most people do not understand the dynamics and the intricate details of mortgages. I have a mortgage with Mr. Cooper and have been making timely payments for 15 years. At tax time this year, in reviewing my statement, I realized that Mr. Cooper was claiming a payment had been missed back in October. I called Mr. Cooper and found out that my bank had accidentally sent the October payment due to Mr. Cooper to another bank instead -- so I immediately made the payment over the phone. The problem is that ever since that electronic payment was sent to the wrong place in October, Mr. Cooper has been reporting my subsequent monthly payments as 30 days overdue with credit bureaus. As a result, my credit score shows 6 months worth of late payments -- and has been ruined.
When I asked Mr. Cooper to simply recognize that this was all due to a mistake, provided them with all the proof, and asked them to update my credit report, they refused, claiming the they posted messages about the late payment to my online account, and tried to call me, so they did everything they needed to do. As though I was supposed to know to that a phone message from Mr. Cooper was about a problem that I needed to address when I was receiving almost daily voicemails from them during the same time asking me to refinance as well.
Mr. Cooper can look in its records and see that I never saw its online messages or spoke to anyone to learn about that a payment had been sent to the wrong place. But even though they know this is all a mistake, they are refusing to help. I had a great credit history before this happened. Mr. Cooper is insisting on destroying my credit rather than simply doing the right thing and working with me to fix the late credit reporting because it was the result of an inadvertent mistake. I am a busy father of a family of four, and one simple click of a button has destroyed my credit because I had the misfortune of having mortgage with Mr. Cooper.

We used Mr. Cooper as Nationstar for a refinance for the original loan that we got for the house. We refinanced through them back in 2015 and they were the original mortgage company that we had. We wanted to get some extra bills paid and we were looking at other companies before we went with the existing mortgage company, but those fell through for one reason or another. We called Mr. Cooper and they gave us some figures and we opted to go with them. The mortgage professionals that we worked with during the refinance were knowledgeable and professional and got back with us very quickly when we had questions.
The guidance that they offered during the process appeared to be good, although there has been a wrinkle in the situation that has degraded it. With Mr. Cooper, the existing escrow account was a simple transfer from the old loan to the new loan and there had been some questions that we have gotten through them or from them that had indicated that all of a sudden, we’ve got a $1,200 shortfall on our escrow account. I called and spoke with a young lady and she got back with me yesterday saying that they had used part of the escrow to pay other fees within the refinanced loan. It was not something that we had discussed or agreed to, so I have to call to speak with her on Monday and find out what the heck is going on.
Still, we got a better APR than what we had previously and the expenses that we were given, with the cost and things like that, were on par with anybody else that we had spoken with. There was an apples-to-apples comparison and the only thing that is really showing up to be something that stood out has been the issue with the escrow account.

I called up again and voiced my anger, they said that I was in line to have this fixed, I said I would call up Ditech and find the issue. Ditech told me they sent my payment of $1500 on the 14th of March. I sent Ms ** a email on March 19, 2019 and stated “I just contacted Ditech the payment I made to them was sent to you Mr. Cooper on the 14th of March 2019. This took me 5 minutes to find out, why could Mr. Cooper not do this? I have gotten numerous calls and letters saying I am past due, Mr. Cooper has had my payment since the 14th of March. I would like an explanation as to why this has happened."
So my payment was received by Mr. Cooper on the 14th of March, Mr. Cooper did not care enough to look into this issue, incompetence is not great way to run a business. I made my payment, it was sent to Mr. Cooper on the 14th, it took me 5 minutes to talk to Ditech and find this out. Mr. Cooper has not contacted me to say this issue is fixed, they only call and threaten me, and have become increasingly aggressive. Why are they not aggressive and find the $1500 dollar payment that was made on the 14th of March?
I received no email, however I received another text saying “We are a debt collector.” Contact Mr. Cooper or pay. Today I received a call while I was at work, I said I wanted to step out, they then asked me for sensitive information, I started to say, "I will give it to you," they then hung up, I did not want to give any information in front of my co-workers.
Mr. Cooper will not fix this issue, but has sent bill collectors and mail to me, this harassment must stop, especially due to Mr. Cooper has already received the payment on the 14th of March, and my April Payment. As a retired Military member this is unsat, Mr. Cooper must be held responsible for its action, or own incompetence. Anthony **

This mortgage servicer has been sued in Massachusetts for bad practices. They employ to discourage borrowers from pursuing a loan modifications. They string you as long as they can. Fabricate need for paperwork or find flaws even on the date you put on the documents they request from you. "Oh you dated the document March 30th, but March has 31 days, so it should have been March 31st". Use that excuse to restart the whole process from the beginning and then blame you and say that it is your fault the modification is not complete because you did not submit proper paperwork. Once you correct that and submit, they take about 2 weeks to let you know they have to restart the process again because there is yet another paper they need.
Mind you, they never said before they needed this paper to begin with. They just keep fabricating and fabricating... Attorney General of Ma, made them pay fines to all homeowners they had conned. But they have still not learned anything from that and continue with the same deceiving practices. You should see the long list of complaints against them sitting with the Attorney General. Mine is one of them. I am now going through a financial hardship due to losing my job. I know I will see better times and when I do, I will do my best to get rid of this unscrupulous disgusting parasites that call themselves a mortgage servicing company. It would not surprised me if all those positive reviews were fake. I expect nothing less from this company.

I was in a situation with a poor loan and I was upside down with my house. I worked with two gentlemen at Mr. Cooper for the refinance, Eric and Jason, and they were very nice, professional and very to the point which I liked. They were persistent in giving me the opportunity to refinance and allowing me to talk to a loan officer which gave me a good idea of where I stood in the market. Eventually, the market turned around and thanks to the helpful staff of Mr. Cooper, I was able to refinance and I was very pleased, allowing my credit score to go up. Since refinancing with Mr. Cooper, I got rid of a bad loan.

When my wife and I contacted Mr. Cooper who hold our mortgage about getting money to fix our roof we were told it was going to be easy. We had been paying double on our mortgage for the past 2 years and had knocked our pay off down by over 8000 dollars. Our agent asked for a ton of paperwork which we quickly gave the bank. Then the appraisal was paid for because it’s a VA loan. We waited several weeks and then we were told the roof didn't have 2 or more years left so the bank would not give us the money. I called our agent and asked why they knew we were replacing the roof. The roof wasn't leaking. Just old. We were told the bank would not loan the money until we had the roof replaced. How are we to replace the roof without the money. We then contacted another bank who are now working with us the refinance to have our roof replaced. Today we found out Mr. Cooper is charging us for the appraisal. That is some great customer service.

The two people that helped me over the phone doing the process were really great and helpful. The lady that came and did our closing was great as well. Mr. Cooper wrapped my homeowner's insurance back up into my mortgage payment. Other than the debt consolidation part of it, that was the only change. The people we were in contact with were always very professional and tried very hard to answer our questions. Some of Mr. Cooper's process was frustrating not only for us, but also for their professionals too. We had the mortgage with them for a long time, and then they kept asking for all of the extra stuff.
In some cases, it was the same things all over again. They wanted our social security statements and our income, and we gave them all that. Then, they wanted our taxes, not just from one year but they wanted the taxes back from a couple. It was even frustrating for the professionals we worked with because they indicated they weren't quite sure what the issue was of the people who have to look over everything. I wouldn't not recommend them. But if I use them again, I'll put a better list of questions before we do something.

We were extremely happy with their sense of urgency to close this out sooner than later and we appreciated the uploading or e-mail options to send necessary document. At the end, we had certain expectations of reconciling certain numbers that were to be assumed in the loan and it didn't happen as we were instructed during the process. They called me to see if I was interested in refinancing. I said I was and I went through the appropriate people. Everybody knew what they had to do and I was very satisfied.
The process took a few weeks. The only thing was, when it came to the underwriter, first, I was told I can get a certain amount and then they had to cut that amount because my debt was a little bit too much. They should double check everything before they tell people, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” They could have been a little more detail-oriented when it came to the details of how much loan I was approved for and how much the take home amount was after closing and everything. They could have done a little bit more research before they finalized everything. But it was good. Jessica was the one I dealt with most and she was phenomenal. Overall, it wasn’t bad at all.

When they changed their name to Mr. Cooper, they put out a big marketing campaign to boast about their dedication to the customer. She informed me NOT to make another payment until the funds had been moved to ensure funds were being applied correctly. 7 days passed and still nothing, I called again. Spoke with another what seemed to be helpful agent, 45 minutes later she assured me that things were now all in order, informed me it could take up to 5 days to show the adjustment. Again told not to make a payment until it showed.
5 days later once again nothing, this time I had the agents email address and emailed her. She informed me that I would need to now call the escrow department, what you told me it was all figured out. She said she would be contacting a manager to fix it... Then the emails stopped, she would not respond to anymore and no resolution was found. I then receive a letter letting me know that if I don't contact then foreclosure proceedings would begin. What? I have contacted you on numerous occasions.
I called for a third 45 minute call and have been assured again that it is all uncontrol and to wait 24 hours and it will show on my account. We will see tomorrow if that is so but I'm not holding my breath. This is extremely stressful for our family and makes me so angry that they can't figure it out and help their customer who is just trying to make their monthly payment.

I'm very pleased with the home buying experience from the Mr. Cooper team. The team went over and beyond to help me get the best loan possible and was there every step of the way. As a single mother, my time was limited and Mr. Cooper valued it. My title company said in her 17yrs she had never closed an FHA loan in 30 days, that's dedication. Thank you, Mr. Cooper, I will be a lifetime borrower.

Good people, fairly smooth process. Interest rate about .75 higher than I wanted to pay but couldn’t arrange a lower rate. I’ll keep searching and again refinance if a better deal is located. Originally promised return of prior escrow then it was transferred to new account, just a few bumps in the road. Thank you.

We had an excellent experience with the refi that we did with Mr. Cooper. From start to finish things were very efficient and went smoothly. We were kept up to date both online and by phone and emails. I wish this type of customer service was more common today than this exceptional service we got here. I would definitely recommend them to family or friends.

This company took over a loan for a property that I serviced for the previous mortgage company. All documents showing completion as well as inspections were completed prior to the transfer in February, but I have not received the final payment owed. I called several times and have finally been told 2 months later that I have to wait another 3 months before documents are reviewed. My company is out a lot of money and there is no consideration for that.

I needed to lower my payments, so I looked into refinancing and my mortgage company told me about Mr. Cooper. Everything was fine with the reps during the refinancing. They were very professional and explained everything to me. The overall guidance that I received when discussing my options was fine and I knew what I wanted to do. The lending process was very easy. It went by really fast and took a week or two. Since refinancing my loan, I've got more money in the bank.
