    I had mistakenly made a couple payments to my escrow account, as soon as I realized my mistake I called to let them know this was not my intentions and I needed it to be transferred. The lady seemed very helpful and told me everything was submitted and to allow 3 days for it to show on my online account. She informed me NOT to make another payment until the funds had been moved to ensure funds were being applied correctly. 7 days passed and still nothing, I called again. Spoke with another what seemed to be helpful agent, 45 minutes later she assured me that things were now all in order, informed me it could take up to 5 days to show the adjustment. Again told not to make a payment until it showed.

    5 days later once again nothing, this time I had the agents email address and emailed her. She informed me that I would need to now call the escrow department, what you told me it was all figured out. She said she would be contacting a manager to fix it... Then the emails stopped, she would not respond to anymore and no resolution was found. I then receive a letter letting me know that if I don't contact then foreclosure proceedings would begin. What? I have contacted you on numerous occasions.

    I called for a third 45 minute call and have been assured again that it is all uncontrol and to wait 24 hours and it will show on my account. We will see tomorrow if that is so but I'm not holding my breath. This is extremely stressful for our family and makes me so angry that they can't figure it out and help their customer who is just trying to make their monthly payment.

    Mr. Cooper contacted me about a refinance. Everything they told me was a lie. I literally spent 3 hours on the last day of closing trying to contact then because it had been almost a week since I talked to them. My payment was due and about to be late which would have charged me a late fee, but I was advised not to make a payment per the previous conversation a week prior. So, after 3 hours of calling and calling I had to demand to speak with a manager who said I should make a payment or would have to pay a fee. Closing ended up being over 4 times the cost they projected, so after a lot of wasted time and stress I had to cancel the process. What a joke these people are.

    I was told by Mr. Shane ** that he (Mr. Cooper) would pay off my loan with prestige finance which at the time was $2,500 as part of the deal when I refinanced my home. Well I figured it was paid and didn't know it wasn't till they sent me a notice that I was 2 months behind on the loan I was never late on.     We decided to refi our loan to get a lower interest rate, and include our 2nd at the same time. The mortgage specialists we felt with Cory and Jenne were excellent to work with. They kept us informed of the status, and what we needed to submit. The only drawback was from an appraiser they used who arrived late and did not include everything needed for the appraisal and this had to come back a second time and again arrived late 9:45 at night. He then took 2 other days to submit his update appraisal. Once that was on the refi went through smoothly and without any problems. All in all it was a good experience and we got what we wanted a new lower rate. Thanks again to Jenne and Cory for their excellent service getting our loan.

    Not only has our mortgage payments increased by $70 in the past 6 months (increased twice since our mortgage was sold to Mr. Cooper), but when I called to find out why (we had the previous company for over a year with no problems or increases) the woman I spoke with was very nasty to me. She had an abrasive tone and was attacking like right from the get go. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! Unfortunately our mortgage was sold to them and we did not have the choice.

    This company took over a loan for a property that I serviced for the previous mortgage company. All documents showing completion as well as inspections were completed prior to the transfer in February, but I have not received the final payment owed. I called several times and have finally been told 2 months later that I have to wait another 3 months before documents are reviewed.     My mortgage was with Nationstar when I was informed that Mr. Cooper bought them out. I was already affiliated with them and I continued with them, and I decided to refinance with Mr. Cooper for debt consolidation. The first people who called asked me a few questions, and I didn't hear from them again. Then the second person I talked to, the loan generator, was perfect. The people that I worked most closely with were excellent, and the guidance that I received was great. Not that I know a lot about refinancing, but any questions I had were answered promptly and if not, that day didn't end until all the questions were answered.

    Getting a better payment is a benefit of doing the refinance, but that's only because I rolled over a lot of debt into that. My payment went up, but I still saved about $600 a month, which is good for me. My credit score also increased because now my debt ratio or my credit-income ratio doesn't look as horrible as it did. So the refinance was advantageous for me, and I got a win. I haven't made the first payment yet, but it's coming around the bend. I've recommended Mr. Cooper.

    My loan was bought by Mr. Cooper in the first part of March. It has been nothing but a nightmare since they took over. They can't seem to figure out their bi-weekly auto pay. The first 7 times I called in I had an automated message tell me they are to busy to talk to me and then it hung up on me. Seven times!     I made my payment March, 2019. They reversed the payment because they didn't like that it came from my Heloc, admitted they should have informed me and then reported me to the credit bureau. In my opinion, this is a crappy, crappy company that doesn't care about me or you or perhaps doesn't know what they are doing. Be careful, for I am sorry I dealt with them and you could be sorry, too. There are plenty of companies that want your business and will treat you right, not like this.

    The reps we dealt with at Mr. Cooper to consolidate our mortgages were friendly and courteous throughout the process. As a whole, the process was easy. The first person I dealt with was very, very good. He handed the documents off to the person who works with underwriting. While she was okay, she kept on sending out information later in the afternoon. When Mr. Cooper is dealing with clients that are not in the same time zone, they have to be considerate of the time. For example, I needed to get a declaration for my insurance, and I sent that information, but they needed some additional information. Contacting someone at 5 o'clock in the afternoon means you're delaying the process by an additional day because the businesses on the East Coast are already closed.

    She did it twice. She filed these documents in a row. Then she needed something, which meant that Mr. Cooper is calling me at 5:00 and they need it right away so we can move this along and close it on Tuesday. It's Friday, and now, I've lost the whole weekend. So, it ended up extending out the closing by two additional days. If I were gonna do it again, I would definitely need to know up front that the person that I'm working with works in the same time zone that I do. Because we could have gotten it done much faster. I felt like I was losing time. I wouldn't recommend Mr. Cooper to anyone else if they had to work with someone in another time zone.

Then I called back to set up bi-weekly autopsy and they told me the number is higher than the number that I listed with.     So, these guys recently took over my loan. They didn't notify me until the day they were supposed to take over it, and nothing was set up. So, they said in the email and all over their site they wouldn't charge a late fee. But, they did and they put it on there before I could even pay the payment because they still weren't set up. I tried calling numerous times and kept getting a message telling me they are busy call back another time. I tried using their secure messaging service and got a form response on how much they care and no response to my message even weeks later.

    I paid the first payment sans late fee because nobody would talk to me. So, today, again, I keep calling. Only now it lets me call, it just drifts me into an endless voicemail system that repeatedly says they care until about 15 or 20 minutes later they drop your call and you have to start over again. I've been disconnected four times tonight. So, basically, there's no way to reach these characters if you have a problem and don't bank on a response to a written communication because they just don't seem to care whether you ever get an answer or not.

    Everything was great with Mr. Cooper. The reps were fantastic and the overall customer service and the level of professionalism stood out. Joseph was the first person I spoke to and he was very knowledgeable and very helpful, and he always responded on time. Everybody was wonderful. The process was quick and seamless.

    There was only one issue, though. There was a form that I had to pay for myself. It was $400 for four sheets of paper and I was not happy about it because I didn't expect that on top of paying for an appraisal. It was through to the HOA and the HOA called me. My contact at the HOA said, "Yes, this is something that the loan company requested from us, they're supposed to pay for it." I even asked if I could get a credit for it and she said that they could try but it wasn't something they had control over. I wasn't expecting it and it had to be done that day. Still, everything closed fast and they did what they said they were gonna do for the most part.

    Mr. Cooper was amazing and I would work with them again in a heartbeat. I even told them, "I know you have no control over it. But I'd like to request that you do not resell my loan," because I really like to work with them. I love their website. It is so easy and everything is clear-cut.     I received notification of funds held by Nationstar now Mr. Cooper. I contacted Mr. Cooper at the beginning of March and spoke to a representative verifying the funds. I was told to expect a check within 10 business days. After 10 business days I contacted Mr. Cooper again to find out what the delay was. I was told to wait another week and if I did not receive the funds to call back. After a week I return the phone call and was told to wait another week and that if I did not receive a check that they would deposit funds into my checking account via a wire. I waited another week still no funds I called back spoke to another agent who told me that the funds were never authorized and that a check never went out. He then told me to send a copy of a voided check via email to his supervisor. I was told to give them 48 hours for this process to take place.

    After a few days still no funds in my checking account I contacted Mr. Cooper again and spoke with that yet another agent who told me that the email was never received. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told by the supervisor that it would take 48 hours for it to get into my account. Still no funds in the account. I spoke with the supervisor again and she told me that the funds would have to be approved and that that would take five business days. I sent a copy of the original letter from the state comptroller hoping that this would expedite the process. I was told they were checking to make sure that the money did not go to the state. The letter from the state comptroller noted that if the funds were not claimed before June 1, 2019 that the money would go to the state.

    Today is the fifth day and still no word of what is going on with my funds. I called today and spoke to another agent who told me that if it’s not in there by today then maybe call back on Friday. I asked to speak to the supervisor again and received an email stating that she would contact me by the end of the day letting me know about the status. I paid my mortgage off to Nationstar/Mr. Cooper in 2015. They have been holding my funds since then. My personal experience with Mr. Cooper has been very uncomfortable and frustrating to put it mildly. I work for a company that puts the customers experience at the top. This by far has been my worst customer experience to date. H. **.

The reason I am dissatisfied with my experience is due to the fact I was told I would not have to pay for an appraisal early in the process. I agreed to the appraisal. Later in the process I was informed I had to pay for the appraisal. At no time did the rep I worked with state I would have to pay for the appraisal in the future. I encourage anyone at the company to review the audio tapes I had with rep to try to find any statement from him regarding the appraisal not being free to me. After that is done, I would like my $450 appraisal fee back.

Got finally answer, I was asked two questions, and as I was talking the lady ask me to please wait just one minute, next thing I know she hanged up on me. A few hours later I tried again.     My mortgage got transferred to them in Nov and from Jan I started getting collection calls when my account has been on automatic payment and always current. The agent calling would have no idea on why it's past due and they said the research department is separate and I would have to call them. After months of discussion on suspense accounts, unapplied payments etc.. (they have no idea how their system works) it turns out their system messed up (they wanted $8,000, if I did not go into the details). They corrected it but their system (Apparently only this part works fine) sent credit updates to rating agencies and first time in 30 years I have a scope below **. I am just furious but they cant do anything.

    My mortgage was transferred to Mr. Cooper but then they process too slow. I used to pay automated with the other servicer and while my service was being transferred, I did not know that I paid two payments. I thought it was a different mortgage already so I paid before the due date. Then, when my service was transferred to Mr. Cooper, they also did the automated ones. So, I paid in March and it is now April. I wanted to ask my money back as it's just slow funds coming back. They told me that they will take care of it and that it will take a few days. I spoke to them yesterday and they said that it is almost there, but I'm still waiting. Since the refinancing, my payment has been a bit lower but I lowered it to 15 years instead of the 17 years because I got an old rate on my interest. I have had good experiences with the company so far.

    We had our mortgage loan transferred to Mr. Cooper not by our choosing. We are in our 4th year of our mortgage and have never been late. On top of that we always put more on the loan than required. In the 4 years of our loan, it has been sold off 3 times (MC being the third). The initial setup and transfer of accounts to the new lender always are simple and effective. One phone call and we are set up. This was not the case with Mr. Cooper.

    The first month's payment was automatically paid through our bank account with no issue. Then last month we get a statement saying that we owe double our monthly amount. When called (2 actual calls which I spent 30 minutes on hold for each call), I was told by a very rude customer service rep that I gave the wrong bank account information upon setup (How was the first payment made...???). He also told me that the amount was for the current month's amount along with next month's amount which has not yet been actually billed in their system. We were advised to go online and re-setup automatic payments.

    So after re-setting up automatic payments, then getting a text message telling us our account info is incorrect, and another 45 minutes on hold, we decided to cancel everything automatic and send a check each month. This is the absolute hardest my wife and I have ever tried to pay a bill. It has been an absolute nightmare working with this company and if we had a choice, I would leave them in a heartbeat. Their billing systems are flawed, their phone system is unreliable, and their customer service representatives are unprofessional and incompetent.

    My mortgage was transferred to Mr. Cooper over 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, that mortgage company is about as worthless as Mr. Cooper. They sent me a letter notifying me of the transfer and where to send my first payment on April 1, 2019. So, I set them up in my online bank and sent them a payment. Keep in mind that I have never received any welcome letter or anything from Mr. Cooper. I was getting concerned because I tried to set up my account on Mr. Cooper and apparently my mortgage doesn't exist with them at this time. So, where is my mortgage payment?

    I called their customer service today and they said my account does not exist. I asked them where my payment was and she could not explain anything. What has happened to the finance world? It used to be full of good customer service, and knowledgeable people. Now they have outsourced it to foreign countries so you end up talking to someone overseas about your account. I have had my mortgage sold before, so this was not my issue. How can you sell a mortgage to a company and after 3 weeks they are still clueless and have no account for you? I find this inadequate and Unacceptable!

    I had enough equity in my home to pay off all my bills. I inquired about refinancing my old mortgage and I had a really good interaction with the reps at Mr. Cooper. They were expedient. They had the process all done within a week or 10 days. It was a good thing I had called because the following week, they were gonna charge for the appraisal of the home, only to find out, you do get charged for the appraisal of the home at the closing. I thought I didn’t get charged at all. It means you don’t get charged upfront. You don’t get charged until the closing. Other than that, I’m more financially solvent since working with Mr. Cooper.

    Mr. Cooper send me a letter stating that my loan modification was in default because I didn’t make the required Trial Period Plan payments. This is not TRUE. My payment receipt shows that my payment was posted on February 28. I was told by Kandice on April 1, that the reason we went in default was because I made a partial payment. The payment was not partial. There were two money orders mailed in the same envelope for the total amount. They posted the payment incorrectly as a partial and are holding me liable. When I spoke with Kandice she was able to see all the transactions but she told me it had to be reviewed and I would receive a letter within 7 to 10 days. However, in order to appeal their decision it must be done within 30 calendar days of the initial letter.

    It seems like it telling me to wait 7-10 days will hinder my ability to appeal. Also Kandice stated that she would not discuss any other payments with me and that my March payment was received but doesn’t know if she posted it. I feel that they are literally trying to take my home. I have seen people at the end of my driveway taking pictures. People have come in my yard and sped away when they saw me outside. I am afraid to come out of my own house, as I don’t know what to expect. Also, my actual loan specialist, Sylvia **, with Mr. Cooper, does not answer my calls nor does she return them. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    My old mortgage company switched me over to Mr. Cooper. I wanted to save on interest cost, so I switched from a 30-year to a 15-year mortgage. I really like the Mr. Cooper website. The reps have been really easy to interact with, and I have had good experiences with them. They're really good, and they gave me an estimation. I called in February to switch my mortgage, and they gave me an estimation that it would take until April. But we ended up getting it done by the second week in March, so the turnaround time was really fast. The service was good too, although they really could have reiterated or told me a bit more about the closing cost, that it would cost to switch to a new mortgage.     I was charged a late fee during the 60 days no late fees charged. My mortgage was bought out by Mr Cooper. The paperwork said no late fees are charged in the first sixty days. I got my first bill which included a late fee. I called and asked about it. The response was it was a late fee charged by the previous lender. Mr. Cooper gave me a bill with a late fee on it. I paid the bill to Mr. Cooper to cover the late fee. Their statement that a late fee will not be assessed does not seem to agree with those 2 facts.

    I had my mortgage with Mr. Cooper for a number of years. Initially, I was interested in refinancing my old mortgage with them due to the fact that they were able to meet the requirements that I was looking for by way of what I wanted to do, how I wanted to accomplish it, and what I wanted out of it.     There are two persons I dealt with at Mr. Cooper. There’s one you start with and then the one they hand you off to someone else. The final one was good. The guidance I received from them was mostly adequate. The whole application process was annoying, but it’s partly because they regarded me as a straight commission, which I am. Despite my long history of great credit and financial acumen, they still weren’t willing to issue a loan just on the basis of credit and income verification. I had to delve too far back into financial records for tax returns for prior years, which I wasn’t told, initially, would happen. And then secondarily, it showed a drop of my income and they wanted to know why. So, if the justification for it is that income is gonna be variable, then it ought to be variable either direction.

    Nevertheless, through my refi I was able to lower my bills that I have to pay every month and pay off a bunch of stuff and have less stress over finances. The experience has also been speedy. I was very forthcoming with documentations because I had it all at my fingertips. I could see how it’d be frustrating to someone else but for me it was satisfactory.

    If I could leave 0 stars I would. Their customer service is horrible. Have been waiting for the return of my insurance check for over a week. Never got a call. There was a problem until we called. The I dont give a crap attitude these people have. House damaged due to tornado, contractors waiting to get paid to make repairs. They bought my mortgage, have no choice but rest assure refinancing to get the hell away from these people is in the VERY near future. Read their D rating on the BBB and you will see what a piece of crap company this is. STAY AWAY from them. Be very afraid if you are with them. Seriously go on the BBB website. It didnt surprise me, but it will educate you.

    Approximately 3 years ago I refinanced my upside down mortgage with at the time "Nationstar". It was a horrible experience! I was advised that I could only refinance FHA due to my current loan being FHA and I was upside down in my mortgage due to predatory lending practices. It took nearly 60 days for the refinance to go through, after being told it would be the easiest refinance I would ever do. The person assigned to my refinance never returned calls or emails. I was finally told she was out a "few days" due to illness and that she was trying to "catch up".

    After she finally completed the refinance I was mailed the remaining funds due to me which was approximately $200. Approximately 3-4 weeks later I was sent an overnight check for approximately $1100. My thought was WOW they really overestimated costs. After another 3-4 weeks passed I received a telephone call from someone stating that the approximately $1100 check that I received was in error and they needed the funds back (WHAT!!?).

    You sent me a check overnight, in my name so I cashed it! I used those funds to pay bills that were due! I refinanced to save money, therefore you mailed me a check and I utilized it to pay debts that I had! NOW, without telling me, Mr. Cooper has been debiting my escrow account to pay back the $1100!!! WHAT, no notice NOTHING, I always pay extra into my escrow to ensure no shortages occur so that my house payment does not increase!! NOW my mortgage is HIGHER than it was before I refinanced!!! Do not worry Mr. Cooper, soon you can have the property back!!! I wish this site would accept NO STARS.

    Mr Cooper resolved the issue. It did take multiple attempts to fix the issue but in the end the problem was fixed. It's a little concerning it took a multitude of people to find out something very simple I was unaware of. I ended up speaking with a gentlemen who had all the issues sorted in minutes! Long story short I'm happy the issue was resolved I just wish it was a little easier. I'd like to also point out Mr Cooper contacted me trying to resolve this review which tells me they actually care. I'll stick with Mr Cooper but I'll just make sure I speak with the correct person before wasting my breath over and over.

    Mr. Cooper bought my loan in February of 2019. My payment for my loan is $1,300. They have my payment at $2,300! They refuse to run another escrow analysis. In the meantime I'm not paying them some astronomical amount for nothing. They are now sending me foreclosure notices! Every time I call I get someone on a desk playing stupid and basically telling me, "Sorry I can't help you." I've never missed a payment in 15 years and I'm trying to pay them the correct amount and all I've gotten so far is excuses and attitude.

    My mortgage was recently sold to "Mr. Cooper". Have made several attempts to make the initial payment on "Mr. Cooper's" web page. First time I received a confirmation email indicating payment had received and processed, however, when I went to retrieve Escrow information, the loan was tagged as NOT PAID. I immediately spoke to customer service whom advised my bank had blocked the payment. Called Bank of America to confirm it was not blocked on their end (and I would have received an email for a suspicious withdrawal attempt and I had not).

    Again called Mr. Cooper to advise and was snidely told "it was not on their end" to please clarify again with BOA which I did. Second payment was made last week 3/18 and to my surprise I received a call today from Mr. Cooper advising my payment was not received to please follow up with my bank. I'm beyond flabbergasted, I have never dealt with a more incompetent lender or horrific customer service department. I WISH MY LOAN HAD NEVER BEEN SOLD TO MR. COOPER.

    My loan was sold to Mr. Cooper in December 2018. I have had nothing but issues since that time with the posting of payments. Being on the bi-weekly payment program, they constantly misapplied my payments from January-March 2019. They could not figure the correct way to post the payments and thus have forced me to take off the bi-weekly payment program. Their customer service is lacking and overall they are not a solid company. If my rate wasn't so good, I would refinance in a second. If you are looking to purchase or refinance, I would stay clear of Mr. Cooper. I think he swindles.

    My loan was bought by Mr. Cooper. In the brief period they have serviced my loan (20 years of which Cooper might be 10%). I have been solicited in one form or another for any service to pad their bottom line. Automated phone calls at least 2-3 times a week. Make a payment online onslaught of sales pop ups inside my logged in account. Fresh off Wells Fargo this predatory marketing is disgusting and leaves me feeling like I need a shower.

    I couldn't be more disappointed and the thought of logging on to pay my monthly payment only brings me more anxiety. This is what an "Excellent" credit score has earned me in life. Proceed with caution anyone seeking to originate their mortgage. I have had, GMAC, BANK OF AMERICA, at least 1 or 2 more companies that have bought my loan. Not one even approached the level of solicitation that Mr. Cooper shoves down my throat nor would they come close if lumped together. I try to send communication through their site several times but there is ALWAYS a glitch. Today email undeliverable because there was no choices when I had to choose a loan in a drill down, despite my being currently logged in, I'm afraid my only recourse to stop this never-ending need to sell me MORE is BBB, Regulatory Agencies, and my legislators.

I then was told it was a mistake. "Sorry". They then make this huge plea to call and they can fix it. I made the call to be told "sorry" it was a mistake. They write this great response just to make it looks like they care. They don't care about as anything but money and covering their mistakes. The reply just makes them look good.

    Original Review: I was sent a letter from Mr. Cooper that my PMI was paid. I had been paying extra principal and was very excited. When I called I was told they made a mistake. If they made a mistake they need to fix it. Instead they blame me and refuse to help. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE UNETHICAL LIARS. They manipulate the situation for their better and change their story constantly. I would fire them in a minute if I could. No one can be trusted! STAY FAR AWAY. I have called the BBB and the television station. Mr. Cooper does not care about me. They are money hungry.

    Ever since my loan was sold to this company I have had nothing but problems. The very first payment I sent in, they claimed they never got. So for the next 3 months I sent the payment priority mail costing me an additional fee each month. Then I'd you try and pay by phone, there's an outrageous fee of $26. But if you go online and do it yourself, there's no fee or do the auto withdrawal.... I don't think so. Can't wait to refi to get away from the incompetence....

    We had a flood in our residence and contacted our insurance provider. The insurance company wrote a large check to cover most of the expense. The check was written to me and to Mr. Cooper since they are our mortgage company. Mr. Cooper required several documents which we sent back via overnight mail. They said they needed additional information so it was faxed and faxed and faxed many times. Now it is 6 weeks later and we are still waiting on the check to pay our builder for work already done and Mr. Cooper Loss Draft staff say they can see that our documents are in but they want the documents submitted as one.

    We have spoken to several persons by phone with the loss draft department and some supervisors. Some of the staff say they can help and will merge our documents and when we call the next day we are told it has not been done. This repeats itself many times with different staff members and now here we are still waiting for a check to pay our builder when Mr. Cooper loss draft department has all of the documents and money from our insurance earning interest from it leaving us to keep telling our builder we are still dealing with trying to get the money to pay him.

    WELL now he has stopped working because he isn't getting paid. Not very cooperative and per my resources Mr. Cooper is terrible, doesn't care because they are making money with over 3 million clients! I wish I could refuse to call people back at my job and tell them I can do something and not do it and still make money! If I or anyone else did this we would get fired. If anyone knows how to help file a federal complaint against a large corporation please post it.

    The company was our primary mortgage holder and we were happy with the service. When we got an advertisement saying we may qualify with our current mortgage, we inquired about refinancing. At the time, we were kinda winding down and they basically said it was something to look into so we did. The next thing I knew, Anthony had called me. It went from there and the process took about six weeks. It took a little longer than we thought it was going to but it was no fault to Mr. Cooper. There were some hiccups with our second mortgage but we got through that and once we buttoned that up, it went pretty quickly.

    The process was actually very easy. It was done through a series of emails and being able to do the electronic documents, it was very convenient. The first time I inquired about one of the offers I was snapped back to reality. Mr. Cooper is just another lender. I have found nothing that makes this lender any better than other lenders.     Few years ago my loan was transferred to Mr. Cooper. I had adjustable rate, always paid on time, was never late in 15 years. Ever since the rates started to go up, they started to increase the interest rate faster than the average national rate. Since the beginning of 2019, rates have dropped to about 4.5%, my Interest in March would have been 5.375% and April 5.5%. Luckily I paid off my loan in February, will never deal with Mr. Cooper again, they are bunch of crooks.

Also, the customer service people are not direct and very sneaky about offering other products to help "you" but it's rather their bottom line.     Citibank had my mortgage and Mr. Cooper bought it out about a year and a half ago. I’m a federal government worker, and the federal government was shut down back in January. I decided to play out a few options, and then we decided to get some extra money in the bank right now and also get rid of the second loan I had? We did that. I had a second loan which was about $26,000. So, we combined the loan and we paid them off.

    Initially, I wasn’t really planning on doing it. I spoke to the Mr. Cooper representatives, and they made it seem so easy -- and it was. I’m very satisfied with the way it played out. The interactions with them were positive. On our first call, I just told the first representative what I was interested in, and then they referred me to somebody. Then they referred me to another person. It worked out very well. Two representatives were handling it. I would highly recommend Mr. Cooper. They’re very simple and they work with their customers.     I love the name "Mr. Cooper" for a banking or financial institution. They purchased one of my loans and it threw me off a bit when I opened up a link that said my loan was now owned by Mr. Cooper. I asked who Mr. Cooper was as a person and I expected a rich guy to make a personal phone call. You'd hear more of an institutional name so it was weird, but I thought it was cool.

    Their rep was very professional, fast and patient to hear what my situation was. I was trying to look at my financial situation and look at where I wanna be. In the beginning, I felt a little pushy because he wanted more and more information. But in the end, I realized that the more details of my situation I tell him, the more he would be able to help me and the outcome would turn out great. He was very informative and the guidance he gave was clear. He knew what he was asking for and provided me with good options. We only looked at two possible options, but he also provided a preference towards one, which I agreed with.

    The application process was easy, seamless and very simple. There was a lot of information to fill in and to provide evidence of, but it was not tedious. When you go to the bank and ask for a loan, the things you fear most are the papers and information you have to keep. There was some evidence of information needed, but it wasn’t overwhelming.

    The staff did a lot of background checks and homework and they were able to put all that in a few documents, which I just signed online. The digital signature was perfect. When signing papers, I didn't have to print it out, sign it, and then scan it. Everything was done online, which made it so easy. Mr. Cooper handled my loan application well. If I had to go through them to get another loan, I wouldn’t get intimidated. I would feel that I just had to have the information I would provide and it would take me a few hours on a phone call or online. I wouldn't feel that I'd have to deal with overwhelming paperwork.

    The longer I'm with them the worse it gets. 1st, my mortgage was sold to them, I didn't pick them. The latest issue is that they short-paid taxes out of my escrow account. Short paid...so they got a bill and paid it when it was due. But they paid the wrong amount. After 2 weeks of contacting them 4 times about the issue...they finally replied today that they need "additional research" and they'll get back to me in "7-10 days". The tax bill is due with $80 interest in 5 business days. The tax bill is due with more interest AND a $120 fee in 7-10. And you know that they'll pay those fees with MY escrow account, even though it's THEIR fault.

    I've tried contacting them before (see below) and their customer service is terrible. Nice people but they don't know what they're doing (one of them had to do and undo an action 5+ times to fix it. You could see it in the account history, it was a whole page). And to get to them, you fight robotic answering machines, 45 minute waits, and offers for callbacks that don't actually call you back (I waited 24 hours).

    Prior to that, they have screwed up my payments multiple times. You very clearly type on the website that you want to pay this payment & this amount of extra into principal or escrow and that should be done, right? Nope. Apparently someone takes it from there and manually does something else? I'm really not even sure how it happens but it definitely did, and more than once.

    My husband died three years ago and with my loss of household income I cannot afford the property taxes. Therefore I was forced to move and while I had many interested buyers, the 25 year house has foundation problems and needs over $100,000 in repairs to the foundation alone. The mortgage payoff was around $136,000 and for that reason, I contacted Mr. Cooper on or about October 26, 2018 in order to begin the Short Sale process. On a recorded line, I am kindly advised by the Loss Mitigation rep that if I chose a Deed in Lieu instead that Mr. Cooper would reimbursement me up to $10,000 for my moving expense.

    Well, I thought okay a Deed in Lieu would be faster than a short sale and I would be refunded my cost for moving out and transferring the house over to Mr. Cooper. The Deed in Lieu was assigned to a Durrell ** who told me on or about November 26, 2018 that a title search revealed an IRS Tax Lien on the property. I knew this was a mistake and figured the IRS was correct the problem with ease. Not so. It is virtually impossible to get an agent on the phone in the IRS' Lien Processing Unit. By the time I finally reached an agent, after days of waiting on hold for hours only to be disconnected at 5pm, the Government Shuts down on December 21, 2018.

    I moved out of the house on December 13, 2018 and now I am paying utility bills and insurance for two properties because this house is stuck in my name and I want It to appear lived in so that it is not vandalized and/or burglarized. Eventually the Gov't reopens but it wouldn't be until Monday, February 26, 2019 that the bogus IRS lien is released. I emailed Mr. Cooper's agent the proof that the lien was released on February 27, 2019 and I tried calling him. No response.

    I emailed him again on the following Tuesday and called continuously all week, every day. The calls went straight to voicemail and no response to my email. Therefore I began calling Customer Service on Friday, March 8, 2019 in order to attempt to get a manager on the phone but it was simply a recording saying that we are experiencing a high volume and to try later. I continued to call on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. I received the same recording all day.

    On Monday afternoon, I emailed the agent again and I scanned the lien release information along with my moving expense report that totalled $7273.82 (much less than the $10,000 limit I was told I could receive) over to the Deed in Lieu agent, and I asked him if he were no longer the assigned agent just please let me know. So, after thirteen days he finally responds on this day, March 11, 2019. He says, "I have submitted the information for approval" and that I would hear from him before the end of the week. So, when 4:00pm on Thursday rolled around and I hadn't heard from him, I called and on the third ring, he answered.

    I asked what was going on with the process because I needed the property out of my name because I continue to incur charges related to homeownership. He told me that he had only been authorized to refund $5000 in moving expenses to me and that he had to send me some paperwork to sign. I provided him my new mailing address and I asked would the paperwork be overnighted. Durrell ** responded, "yes it would." I figured because it was already late in the afternoon on Thursday that the correspondence would go out on Friday and I would receive it by Monday, March 18, 2019. Well, it is Friday night on March 22, 2019 and I have not received anything nor have I heard from Mr. ** or his allege supervisor, Michael **.

    I asked to speak with his supervisor on March 14, 2019 and a Michael ** takes my call and apologizes for me not be able to get through to Mr. Cooper but he explained that Mr. Cooper had purchased 3000 mortgages in February/March and all staff had been handling the new customers' calls. The allege supervisor told me in the future to include him in my emails to Mr. ** and that he would ensure a response if he had to answer himself.

    Well, as I expected. No response from anyone. And these jokers had a preservation company to go out to my property and change the locks when I told them that I had a couple of boxes in the garage that I would retrieve simultaneously when I meet with the Real Estate Agent assigned by Mr. Cooper and turn over the property to Mr. Cooper. This process had been the plan since Day 1 when I spoke with Durrell ** in Loss Mitigation, that I would meet with an agent to release the keys and physically transfer the property. I feel violated, disrespected and misinformed by Mr. Cooper's staff of three individuals whom I have spoken to during this nightmare of a lack of process.

    As long as this property is in my name, I will receive a water bill. That is how the rule is in this county (very unfair) and Mr. Cooper is disregarding me as a customer. I tried to contact the Executive Office on this evening but they were already gone. I will try again on tomorrow. I see Mr. Cooper that settled a lawsuit with NY at the end of 2018 because of complaints like the nature of this complaint and they still have not improved their operations. This is a horrible mortgage company. I want every dime that is due me, my items from MY garage and to see this mortgage company closed. I will be filing complaints on Monday, starting with the Federal Reserve. Mr. Cooper learn the proper way to conduct a Deed in Lieu. This isn't it.

    I have a new car payment. I also have another payment for our air conditioner right now and they have to fix it up again and change another thing from that one. We live with social security only, so we were kind of tough to cover all the payments. We did, but we don’t have any more for us even to have a cup of coffee or soda.

    Other people offered me an equity loan. But I thought, “Why don’t I call the bank? They have my mortgage. Maybe they can do something about it.” So I called Mr. Cooper and everybody was very nice. They told me I can do the refinance. They also said I can pay interest rates in only one account, not in a different account, which is really good. I was paying an interest rate in the car, and there were two bills that I have to pay interest rates also. So, besides the mortgage, they raise up the interest rate because I have finished with the modification. Everything really seems like it's gonna help. And so far, I’m very happy with that.     First, I spoke to a nice gentleman. He put in my computer the good and the bad on the loan and also, how many things they are gonna cover and how much is gonna be my total. And if I agree, they told me what I have to do is fax to them the copy of my social security statement. They also tell how much they give us every month. So we went there and sent the copy to them, and two days later, the rep called me and said a lady is gonna take care of my loan. Her name is Angie. She was a nice lady as well. And everybody there was nice, too. So far, I don’t have problems. Before, we have other people taking care of my mortgage and they change constantly. But now, it seems like they are more assured and all-around, more organized. They don’t have to sell the mortgage to somebody else so I feel more secure with them.

    Since day one, we have a very good relationship with Mr. Cooper. We try our best also to cover our obligation. So we don’t have any problems with the statements. The numbers match and we have a home. They are the people that we can really trust. In these days, you don’t find companies that you can trust because they just care about themselves and not about the customer. But these people from Mr. Cooper, they really care about us.

    Mr Cooper bought my mortgage company at the end of last year and since they took over it has been a nightmare with their customer service. The website for my old mortgage company stated that all tax documents would be available for download at the end of January as usual. At the end of January the old website was shut down and redirected to Mr Cooper's website. Which stated they would be available February 22nd. I called their customer service at the end of February after searching the website and was told they will be available in a few more days and they will be emailed to me.

    Another week goes by and I call again. This time the customer service says they are not releasing any documents and have no estimated time as to when they will be available. I asked to speak to a manager or someone who handles complaints and was told they don’t have managers and could not transfer me or give me phone numbers to anyone who could help but did offer to transfer me to another member on his team. Who could not help me with this situation either.

    After a few more calls I’ve decided I cannot deal with the apathy or callousness of how they speak to their customers and have been emailing them through the website instead. Emailing has not been any better so far I keep getting the same automated response for the last few weeks that says, "Thanks. We will get back to you." So please if you have any control over who you finance though, stay far away from Mr Cooper.

    This company's record keeping is the worst. My wife bought the house in 2009. It was sold to Mr. Cooper in 2014. My wife kept maiden name for business purposes. We added me to speak on her behalf 4 yrs ago with my last name different from her maiden name. I called the other day and now they say they have no record of me being allowed to speak to them. Yet at least 15 times they have spoken to me in the past. I have recorded all the calls and prove that they have spoken to me. This company has very incompetent people that are clueless when it comes to mortgage customer service. I have over thirty years in both lending and escrow and these people are total idiots. Avoid the headaches and get your home loan from a knowledgeable company. Record keeping is horrible.

    Mr. Cooper/Nationstar has taken way too long to refund my escrow. I closed on the sale of my home on Feb 12, 2019. They timely refunded me the interest from the close (which was a small amount), but they are yet to refund me the escrow amount, a much larger amount. It ended up taking so long with check, that I had them do a wire instead and still, I'm yet to receive the wire. It has been three business days since I last called them to ask about the status; at which point they claimed it was approved and should go out shortly. I'm beginning to think they have an internal policy of holding onto larger sums of money in order to inflate their cash position in their financials. Shady business practices.

    I've been notified my mortgage was transferred from Seterus to Mr. Cooper. I've tried to call Mr. Cooper several times. Each time when I try to talk to someone line I get a recording that says their wait times are too long and I'll have to call back later. I haven't received any information about this loan. I don't have a loan number and you need one to log in to the account online. When I call the old company I only have an option to call Mr. Coooper. Who again, won't take a call. If I can get through to them next week I'll have to file complaints with the FTC. I can't pay a mortgage they I don't know how to pay. Is anyone else having problems? The reviews are so bad I'm nervous.

    I went to pay my mortgage and was surprised to learn Seterus no longer exists as it was purchased by Mr. Cooper. After dialing the new number 5 times, the automated service couldn't connect my SS number with the zip code of my home, so I zeroed out and called again and asked for a live agent. I initiated this call at 2 p.m., I was then told my wait to speak with a live agent was greater than 10 minutes. While I waited, a created an online account and saw the amount showing due was incorrect.

    When an agent finally came on the line, I explained I was attempting to make my monthly mortgage payment and the escrow amount was wrong. In fact, Seterus mailed an escrow overage check to me at the end of February because my homeowner's insurance went down. The live agent, clearly reading from a script provided to those working in a call center, couldn't help. She transferred me to the escrow department but before she did, she asked, "Did you want to get the escrow issue cleared up before making a payment?" Uh, do you think? I proceeded to wait 15 minutes for another live person to come on the line. In fact, I waited so long, their phone system timed me out, disconnecting the call. It's 2:56 p.m. and I'm still on hold waiting to talk to someone. This is beyond ridiculous.

    Our mortgage was purchased by Mr. Cooper a year or so ago. There is nowhere on the website to indicate you did not wish to be called and hounded by these people to add services and home loans; only a section that you will call them or they will call you. Every month there are numerous automated messages to connect with their home loan specialists on adding more debt. Today the phone was ringing at 8:00 a.m. PST with another automated messages. I called one day to be removed and was on hold so long I finally hung up. The WORST mortgage experience we have ever had in years of owning a home!

    My mortgage got transferred to Nationstar/Mr. Cooper at the beginning of 2019. I liked the website until I discovered that it lacked in real information. There is no e-mail to contact customer service. When you use their "secure mail" system you only get canned (automated?) responses. There is no fax number for customer service. The only option for customer service contact is a phone number. I have e-mailed, snail mailed and faxed about a dozen times, within the last month, regarding PMI removal. The response? NOTHING! When I tried to call them the system informed me that I would have to wait about 25 minutes. Who has time for such crap? My only option is to start filing complaints and to take them to court. This is a shady operation aimed at siphoning money from consumers. Companies like this created a mortgage mess in 2008.

    I called for a payoff on 3/5/19, and used the automated system. The payoff never arrived. I called on 3/13/19, talked to a person and was told the payoff would be ready by Friday 3/15/19. Called back on 3/15/19 and was told it wasn't ready and it would be 3 to 5 days, but they could expedite it for $25. I asked for them to waive the fee since I originally called on 3/5/19, and she said, "That ain't gonna happen". These people are totally unprofessional.

We've had Mr. Cooper forever, so I just trusted them. Their whole refinance process was very easy. It also went very smoothly and a lot quicker than I thought it would. It was a couple of weeks from beginning to end. The mortgage professionals who helped us were awesome, too. They answered all my questions, and no matter if I bugged them two or three times, they were as friendly as the first time. They made me want to do it again.     I always pay my bill by mail. I do not pay over the internet, since it will eventually be hacked. I received my billing statement by mail today, and it contained no return envelope. I called their customer service number, and was on hold for about 45 minutes. When I finally spoke with a representative, I was told they didn't think they could provide me with an envelope. I said that if they wanted to be paid, they had a full two weeks to get one to me in the mail. She said she would check. In a minute, she came back and said they could not provide envelopes. I asked why there wasn't one in the billing statement? She said they didn't provide them. I escalated to a supervisor. When she came on the call, I asked to be connected to her manager. She said that he wasn't available, but could call me back.

    I gave her my work number. I said they needed to provide me with an envelope. She said their policy was not to provide envelopes. I asked if they would like it if I got a nice, big cast iron anvil, taped my check to it and FedEx'd it to the CEO's house? Things deteriorated from there. Mr. Cooper constantly bombards its "consumers" with ads stating how much "better" their automated customer service is, when really it's all about firing mail room employees, who pay taxes, in order to enhance the bottom line. Nationstar was mediocre in customer service at best, but there is no acceptable online language to accurately describe the intentionally derogatory doublespeak and false statements in support of laziness and greed that now infuse the entire morbidly corrupt corporate structure. This animal is too sick to work - it should be put down and conveyed to the glue factory - is that "Texas" enough for you?

    There were a lot of emergencies in our family, and it got to the point where things were being a little uncomfortable. So, when I talked to Mr. Cooper about it and told them what was going on, they told me how to finance and the whole bit. The whole thing took less than a couple of weeks from beginning to end. Anything I had to ask or any doubts I had, the guy we mainly worked with was there.     The experience with Mr. Cooper was fine until I sold my home and closed. Only to find out a week later that the transaction wasn't exactly closed. It began when I requested a payoff statement from Mr. Cooper. I was informed that to receive the payoff statement it would cost $25.00 to have it expressed to me. I agreed. However, the statement only covered four days. Mr. Cooper acknowledged the mistake but I was told their system would not allow for an updated payoff statement without charging me another $25.00. So the statement was sent out by US mail.

    After the transaction was closed I received a text from Mr. Cooper requesting payment. I made a call to Mr. Cooper and informed the representative who answered the call that the closing was a week ago, and the loan was paid in full. She put me on hold to verify. When she came back on the line, she said that Mr. Cooper had paid my taxes which in turn left my escrow account short by $456.00. Please note that the tax payment was made February 11th, and the closing was confirmed for February 12th, and taxes are not due until March 1st. I said I would call the attorney who handled the closing, and get back to Mr. Cooper.

    In that time, Mr. Cooper sent back the $236,000.00 payoff back to the title company for payment not in full. My question was who sends back $236,000.00 for $456.00?! Either way, that is what happened. After confirming with the title company that the money was wired back, the attorney that handled the closing and I also discovered that the taxes were paid twice. Once by Mr. Cooper, and again at closing by the title company. We then had a conference call with Mr. Cooper. The representative confirmed all, and that Mr. Cooper had also began to tack on additional interest for the days they wired the payoff back to the title company. Which was an additional $402.00.

    The closing attorney and I argued that I was not to be charged this interest, and that the county would be reimbursing Mr. Cooper the taxes. The representative put us on hold while he worked on a resolution. After several bouts of back and forth communication which also involved a representative from the escrow department, we came to the resolution that after Mr. Cooper receives the overpaid taxes, they would send me the balance that was to be disbursed to me from escrow, and also refund the interest charged.

    Approximately a week later I called Mr. Cooper to find out the status. I confirmed with the representative in the escrow department that Mr. Cooper confirmed that they would be receiving the overpaid taxes from the county, and soon after I will receive payment. I then asked about the overage in the interest paid. The representative informed me, that the escrow disbursement wouldn't be a problem, but the interest, I would now need to go and submit a written claim with Mr. Cooper's resolution team. Due to the fact that I know ALL conversations are recorded by Mr. Cooper, I have scheduled another conference call with the closing attorney to ask Mr. Cooper to pull those tapes and confirmed the conversation which includes the representative's confirmation that I would be refunded the interest.

    To date, it's been a month since the the original closing date, yet I still have not had any payment, or this situation resolved even after confirming that Mr. Cooper has received the payoff amount and the overpaid taxes. I will give them credit for having representatives that are professional. Polite, and are willing to TRY to resolve the issues. However, Mr. Cooper has no excuse for allowing this to go unresolved for the last month.

    The application process was easy and fast. Mr. ** was very patient with me as I moved about the document on my computer. The closing officer Mr. ** was also very professional. Details and questions were handled via e-mail quickly. The appraiser was timely (but came in low I think), and the notary was very good. (And said the appraisers in this area all come in low so they are not questioned!) The glitch was when the pay-out checks to my creditors came from the Title company. Both Mr. ** and ** insisted on many occasions that "I was to just sign them, and send them in." This made absolutely no sense to me at all. The checks were not made out to me. I finally just put my name on the checks on the front along with the Account Number. I then decided to call Vantage Point Title, Inc. The gal just laughed and said a lot of Mr. Cooper's customers have problems with this and MR. COOPER JUST DID NOT CARE. Of course I do not sign.

    What I did was correct. I could send in with a statement or to the billing address of the creditor. I was to keep the bottom half of the check. I suggested they send out instructions with the checks. One person said she did and would pass the suggestion on. Verrrry frustrating to an otherwise good experience. Please instruct everyone on the handling of the checks.

    Chase sold my mortgage to this strange company with a strange company name. Chase said when I reached 80% equity based on the initial sale price of the home, I can call and they would remove PMI. I am getting very close and have called Mr. Cooper many times because they seem to think I purchased the home for the exact sale price of my old home. Every time I call they research and find the correct price and apologize. They say they will fix it and they never do. The last time I called they said they would not remove PMI at 80%, which was the policy with Chase. They said I would have to pay for an appraisal. Chase said nothing would change, but this is a nightmare. It's like they never want to remove PMI.

    Mr. Cooper sent me many many emails to use my home equity to pay off debt so I took advantage of the opportunity. Mr. Cooper told me they were paying off my home equity account but they did not tell me they were closing my home equity account. I was going to use my home equity line to pay off debt. I am in worse condition now than I was before the refinance. I don’t have enough equity to get another home equity line now I don’t know how I am going to get out of this mess. I called them and told them of the mistake but they want help me. Mr cooper seems to not care. They just wanted to get my money and should have helped me not hurt me financially.

    I needed to pay off a credit card and refinancing with Mr. Cooper was the easiest process because they were already my bank. I didn’t have to turn in a lot of different paperwork. I worked with two gentlemen and everything went smoothly. They were great and they made the process super easy. They emailed me the stuff, which I filled it out, and everything that they sent me, I sent back. So it worked out really fast. It took like a few weeks.

    Not happy that money was not taken out in the loan process for April 2019 taxes and house insurance. I had to come up with money to put into impounds. I'm not very knowledgeable in reading the loan documents, but when I called Mr. Cooper in February I was told by a gentleman representative that all was OK. He didn't sound knowledgeable, so I called again in March and the lady said no, there wasn't funds in impounds to cover the April taxes and house insurance. Had I not called again either my property taxes or insurance would have been short of funds.
