The application process with ClearPath was easy and I got a VA program. They called and told me what paperwork to send and they carried it from there. My loan officer was good. He said he’ll call if he has any problems and I could also give him a call so he could take care of it. I just bought the house so I have to wait a couple of months to make my payments. ClearPath Lending also sent me a booklet in the mail saying if the interest rates go down, they’ll be in contact with me if I want to refinance. That was real good about them.

I was looking for a lower interest rate and got a VA loan from ClearPath Lending. I had a good experience with their loan officer and the application process was a success. Everything went well working with them in the business that we have had. And overall, it was a great experience.

ClearPath Lending is a very dependable company. They're super and I couldn’t have better service from any company that offers loans. Their people are very knowledgeable. As I talked to a Clear Path loan officer, I could understand where he's going at. He was so thorough and understanding, while other loan officers need work. They would say they’re going to do something, but they won’t do it. Applying for a loan with ClearPath was simple and easy too. They walked me right through it. I got a 30-year VA loan and it goes up by percentage points. My loan officer, Cray, was wonderful as well. He was courteous, friendly and easy to contact. I would recommend this lender. They’re very good at what they do.

I got some correspondence in the mail about ClearPath Lending. They promised a veteran's loan with a lower rate and I was paying 4% at the time. I also got about 12 different proposals over a couple of months because as soon as you get a mortgage, everybody would try to win up whoever you have. And I just decided to call. It was pretty easy to apply for a loan from ClearPath. However, the first person who called me from this company offered me a five-year loan which would go adjustable according to what the government rate was at the time. I was ready to do that because it was a little cheaper per month but then after five years, I don't know what was going to happen or if the interest rate would go 6% or 8%. So, I decided that was not good and didn’t choose it.
Then, Lily called me from this same company and she said, “No. Go with the 30-year loan.” So, that's what I did. She helped me a lot in making decisions. She was was very friendly and knowledgeable. She knew her product. The experience was enlightening because I learned a few things that I didn't have with the other loan ahead. Overall, I had a pleasant time working with ClearPath.

ClearPath Lending had the lowest interest and I went with the best offer. I had to go with that three-year then-and-before rate but I also found out I can do this every six months and get three months of that rate free. That’s my way of making that come back plus they also brought my payment below what it was for so I’m very happy with it. My loan officer, Andy was fantastic. He told me how it would go and I took him for his word but the paperwork that came following that seemed to verify that as well. The application took care of everything on its own and they did everything I wanted done in a timely fashion. They even had my liaison Nancy come out and the paperwork was made and notarized right here at my house. They couldn't have done much better than that.

I took a VA loan from ClearPath Lending. I tried with several companies and went with what worked out best for me. They had the better rate and loan. There were a lot of things I had to do in the process but that's normal. It took a month and a half because there are so many restrictions on VA loans that we had to go by. But the loan officer took care of me. Everything worked well and I'll use them again.

I got a flyer in the mail from ClearPath, and I called the number that was there and talked with their representative. I was really deciding to make a change and ClearPath fit what I needed. I was satisfied with the entire process and with Portillo, the fellow that I did business with. I liked the way that he gave me the information, so I continued to correspond with him. He sent me some forms and I filled them out and sent them back. And each time, he explained to me exactly what the forms were for. He led me through the procedure without having to ask a lot of questions.
I had a 30 year fixed VA loan and I changed it to the 3-in-1 program, which was one of the plans that ClearPath has recently put into effect. It's a three-year plan. I like that it moved quickly and I didn’t have to do much myself. Everything was done by ClearPath. We did the application forms on the computer and we didn’t do a lot by regular mail, which speeded things up. I wasn’t bothered by anything that we did, and it all seemed to come together.

I needed the money to skip a payment so I can take care of some maintenance work around the house rather than try to borrow a second mortgage. ClearPath happened to be referred, so I decided to give them a try. I went with the lower VA loan. It was a refinance and everything went smooth. I worked with a guy named Greg and it went as he said it would. He stayed with me all the way until everything he told me came to pass. The process took about three weeks. My money came in and didn’t have any problems. They're a great company. They were fast. What they say is what they do and they don’t lie to you. They're very sincere people and if I have to do it again I'd go back to ClearPath.

ClearPath Lending came right out and told me exactly the type of rate they could get me. They were really upfront about everything. How much they were going to make, the whole amount and what I was going to get. So far, I'm happy with the payment that I have. The property taxes increased twice and are about to increase again, so I looked into getting a loan. I don't want to just get money from them, I want to keep my mortgage payments low and they did that. At 2.75%, it was lower than the one I had at 3.5%. It also helps that I haven't had to pay those 2 months of mortgage.
They were helpful with everything. Since I'm from Illinois, I also had to pay some counselor while I was going through the application process. The loan officer was from another state though. There were no questions that they didn't answer, and I was really inquisitive. I liked everything they said, so I gave them a try. They told me what was going to happen, how long it was going to take, and what I can expect. They were clear and to the point. The other people would start shooting but they were not able to tell me stuff. I'm not leaving the people I'm already with for someone who can't tell me what to expect. At the end of the day, ClearPath gave me the rate that they said they were going to give me. The process was easy and I'm satisfied.

ClearPath's rate on a VA loan was the best. My representative, Keith, was with me from the start to finish and I really appreciate that. He was able to answer my questions and if he didn’t have the answer for me, he got back with me within the next day with an answer. I had to wait for a week and a half before I signed the papers but the process was fast. I was very pleased with the way the loan with ClearPath went.

The offer sounded really good and the loan officer that I had was really good too, so I went with a home loan with them. I'm on ARM and he told me that I can go to a fixed later on down the road if I like. He was outstanding, real professional and he did a good job. I would definitely refer them to someone else that I knew, who will need a VA reduced rate for a mortgage. As a matter of fact, I did refer them to one friend.

I was looking into a better rate and when I called ClearPath Lending, the officer Sam was very helpful and nice. He got my attention right away and he was specific and very truthful. He did a breakdown of everything with me over the phone then he explained everything and sent it through the email. After that, we talked again, item by item, to make sure that I understood what we had talked about over the phone so that was a plus. Aside from the rate, it was their loan officer, the way he presented the company and his professionalism that made up my mind. The company itself is good but not every loan officer is good. I'm a real estate agent and I've had a lot of experience with my clients with VA lenders and the loan officer is what makes it work. I have two referrals in line for Sam. They are two families that I've helped bought a house and they needed refinancing.

He mentioned to me that the application was in process and not to pay the mortgage company that I had before. He called me once in a while to make sure the process was done properly, and to make sure everything was fine. My husband is a VA and all these years that we've been married, I thought I might as well check into getting a loan. I checked on the ClearPath flyer and they had a very low rate of 3% so I tried it and this was our second time with them. The loan officer set goals and one was to get the application information together. We didn’t have to have an appraisal on the house for whatever reason and he got me a low monthly payment. The one we have now is about $150 lower than the one we had the first time around. We didn’t have to make payment for two months, which was good, and everything was on time. When he said he was going to do something, it was done and he kept in touch when he said he would. He called on a Saturday to let us know that everything was fine and to see how we were doing. I wish I’d known about the VA loan earlier in our marriage. It would have helped us. And, the public should know more about it because it's good.

We wanted to refinance and consolidate some debt and get a loan. The objective was to get a lower payment on our mortgage, which we were able to do. The ClearPath agent that worked with me was very professional, knowledgeable and very polite. He seemed to take really good care of everything that I needed. He was a great communicator and he got back with me when he said he would in a very timely manner. And he was always able to answer my questions. It was a pleasant experience. But the one thing that surprised me was, almost immediately when my loan closed with ClearPath, I got a letter from a different financial organization saying, “We are now your mortgage company." It wasn't ClearPath so I wasn't expecting that.
I got what was called a "goodbye letter" from ClearPath, which felt a little strange because one of the things that ClearPath kept telling me was, "Once you're with ClearPath, you have the repeat customer benefits and we always look after your loan. We're always monitoring, we're always watching after your loan." I didn't get any explanation from them about that so I still have a question in my mind. I was extremely pleased with ClearPath that I was disappointed when I got the goodbye letter. They did a fantastic job for processing the loan and when I objected to one item on the loan, which was their fee, they told me they were going to waive it. If I wanted to refinance again, I would call ClearPath first.

My husband's an Air Force veteran and I put something on the internet about wanting to do a VA mortgage. Mark from ClearPath Lending called me and he was wonderful. There was somebody else who was interested but they took so long to do anything so we sent Mark the paperwork that was needed. He called us all the time and left us a note that he got what he needed. He took care of everything and kept track of the interest rates for us. The application process was very easy and it was a great experience. We had a VA loan originally from a local company but we had to do so much more for the settlement that took hours as they didn’t have the paperwork ready. So, we didn’t go with the company we originally had the VA loan with 'cause they were too slow.
We have recommended ClearPath Lending and Mark to everybody. They saved us 123 a month so that was a big help. Mark really helped us and we'll be using him in the future if we need to for anything. However, I wish we could have stayed with ClearPath. But the mortgage company gets changed all the time. I would rather stay with ClearPath and be paying the mortgage through them. I was paying a little bit too much for my mortgage so I shopped around to see about lower interest rates and it so happened ClearPath had what I was looking for. I went with their streamlined loan. With the way it was described and broke down for me, it seemed like a good deal. My loan officer was very professional and he made everything really easy for me. I had to provide proof that I work, a couple of paychecks, proof of insurance for my home and another thing from my previous mortgage company. The overall process took three weeks and it was smooth like the officer said it was going to be. Overall, the customer service was top notch and my experience has been awesome.

ClearPath Lending gave me an offer for a better rate on a VA loan and it sounded interesting so I went forward with that. The lending officer, John, knows his business pretty well and he did a good job of helping me out. He got me consolidated and helped me pay off other smaller obligations which I was interested in doing also. The process from beginning to end took at least a couple of months and everything seemed to go well. Now, they've handed the loan off to a loan management company. So at this point, they're waiting on me to give them that first payment. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to slip that right out of bank account if I told them they could, and put that on automatic payment. Overall, ClearPath did great and I'm pleased to have worked with them.

I wanted to try and maximize my resources, so I looked into getting a loan. I read some reviews on Google and then I happened to get a mailing from ClearPath. When I first spoke to the loan officer, Alex, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was willing to explain point counterpoint questions to my satisfaction. So, it worked out well.
I was already at a very low-interest rate. I was at 3.375% and I took advantage of a 2.75% for five years and then with a one-year cap. So, no matter which way the economy went, I would not be in jeopardy. It helped me out in the short term. The application went seamlessly, quickly, and efficiently. The individual they sent out made the process, as far as the notary, painless. The process didn’t take more than three weeks. The whole thing went without a hiccup and was pleasant.
The loan officer was available at all times. He had no problem getting a text from me. He also answered back right away. He accepted phone calls and emailed without an issue. He was efficient and fast. However they’re doing themselves a disservice by not putting their process in verbiage on the screen rather than advertising that cartoon style.

I was in the process of refinancing my house. I had a home equity line of credit. It was in the repayment period after 10 years and I wanted to reduce my payments. I have made an inquiry about refinancing and started the process with others when one of the loan officers from ClearPath called. It was a cold call and I was skeptical at first. But the salesman I spoke with was very good and cooperative. I went with them because they were good in saying what documents are necessary and when I got them, that was it. The other ones, who were bigger and better, come back with a change in underwriters and more documents. I got frustrated with them. But for ClearPath, I had excellent credit, good income, the appraisal is over $1.1M and getting a $407,000 loan is not a big deal. I was out of the country for three or four weeks. At first, the loan process was delayed but after the delay, it was quick.

ClearPath Lending sent me something and informing me about the new interest rates. So, I got in touch with them to ask a couple of questions. I had dealt with Quicken Loans before and I was very unsatisfied with the commercialism of it and not being given that individual treatment. But ClearPath’s rep, David, was a gentleman. He was the first person I talked to and the one that handled my refinancing. ClearPath was very upfront with all the fees and all the information. They also made themselves very available for me at any time. When I call and he was not available at that time, he would get back to me immediately. I had a VA loan and he was on top of everything. The whole process took 40 days and that met my expectation.
My loan is guaranteed to stay at the rate that I was guaranteed because it's through the VA for three years. If I decide to change back to the fixed rate after the three years then it would be subject to increases. With the loan that ClearPath chose with me, I can change my mind anytime. If I do change, there's a loyalty guarantee that there will be no fees incurred on the changing back, which is a plus. With that, I'm going to get my interest back every time I refinance. I'm comfortable enough with them that instead of being an average person who switches back in six months so they get another two months’ rent and the interest back, I'm choosing to stay with the VA loan for three years.
I asked all the questions I had and they answered a lot. With ClearPath, I was able to look at the bottom line of how much I'm going to save from the two months that I don't have to pay the mortgage, how much I was going to get back and how long. I had all that information. Overall, I'm super satisfied with the experiences I had with ClearPath. It was a very enjoyable time to do business with a company that deals with individuals on an individual basis.

The loan officer from ClearPath, James, was upfront and honest and I liked that because I had a lot of others that weren't honest. James did what he said and he told me exactly what was going to happen and it happened. Other companies would lie and say stuff that wasn't true and I would catch them in a lie after lie. I was also interested in being able to miss two payments which I am able to do with ClearPath because I'm on a month-to-month and being able to free up a couple of months worth of mortgages took a lot of pressure off me. Not to mention the escrow that they got back which was nice. I have a daughter that was graduating from high school and it came in the right time.
She wanted to go on a cruise and it made it possible for us to do it. If people get in contact with ClearPath I would recommend to people to listen to what they have to say because they're true. I went in for a refinance since there was a change from my mortgage company to lower my interest rate and got a letter in the mail from ClearPath Lending. I like it that they dropped my interest rate down over a point from what I was paying and saved me $150 a month. Working with the loan officer was an enjoyable experience. The mortgage office that they used was having a system glitch with their internet and their phones so I called the loan officer. In the process of getting all the paperwork done, he gives me not only his email address and his office number but he also gives me his cell phone number in case I had some issues or had any questions.
When the lawyer’s office was having an issue with their phones, I called him because it was a little bit earlier than the office out there opens. It was a bad timing since he was getting ready for a funeral but he still took the time out to take and call the person that set up the lawyer’s office and that person turned around and was able to get through to him.
So, within, 20 to 30 minutes or so, after talking to him, I was on the phone with the lawyer’s office. They were able to get through and get them to call me back and I was able to get everything set up. That loan officer went over and above his job description. That’s for sure. Also, there was a guy I worked with over there at ClearPath who helped me figure out how to get some things situated, it was on my credit report. So, I’ve gotten here because of the way they’ve done the loan. They also gave me two months of no payments as well which made it possible to get caught up on some bills that I was behind on and pay some stuff off that was on my credit report and trying to bring my credit score back up.
I’ve already gotten a couple of phone calls from the mortgage company that resumed the loan. I’ve also gotten a phone call from ClearPath Lending to make sure that everything was okay and everything was all right, that the transition to the other company was okay and that everything was still the way it was supposed to be. They followed through. The other mortgage company I went to, they didn’t follow through. There's always a gentleman there who thanks me for my service. That means a lot when a Vietnam vet comes back home. I’m trying to tell every veteran that wants to be refinanced to go through ClearPath because they are really good. Another thing I like so much is that they don't resell you. ClearPath Lending gave me a very low insurance rate. In the beginning my agent Michael told me we should wait a few months to refinance because of the status of the market. He did everything for me which I was very surprised about. ClearPath Lending even helped with the lawyer and the closing cost. They kept me updated at all times. We started in October and we just finished now. Then Michael called me back and told me the interest is at 4% and it was the best time to do a refinance. He explained everything to me and every time I called, he answered or he called me back. He took good care of me and he also gave me his personal cellphone number. He was amazing and on point. Everything was very easy and I loved it.

I heard about ClearPath from the mail and I waited a good while before I called. I felt it wouldn't hurt or anything. I figured that in the long run, it's going to be easier for my son to take over with the lower percentage rate. I appreciate that ClearPath tried for months. I got letters for four months, and then I decided to call. Chris was the only one I really talked to. Sometimes, he called me two to three times a day to let me know and keep me in the loop even more than he had to. He even gave me his home number. If I had questions, he took the time to talk to me and explained things to me. I was very impressed.
I was really happy with them because, at one time, I had told them that Home Depot tried to put the company down. So, I made up my mind, especially when Chris called me back, that I'd hate to listen to ClearPath. However, Chris asked for five minutes, and I gave him five minutes. But then we talked for 15 minutes almost every time and he sold me on to ClearPath. I had the refinance with a lower percentage rate with them.
On the other hand, I was upset when I go volunteer my time at the VA. I know a ton of people that are at a high percentage rate. One of them is paying 7% and it's an outdated policy. I told him to ask ClearPath about the credit, which I shouldn’t have done. But he told me it was pretty bad and that they were a month behind on their house payment. It probably wouldn't have been a good prospect there. And then yesterday, I wrote a check so ClearPath didn’t start taking automatic deductions out on the 1st of every month.
Nevertheless, I had a great experience with ClearPath, especially with Chris. He worked hard and everyone else worked hard to get this thing handled fast. At first, I had my doubts and everything. Then they notified the other people about the change. They gave me a lot of help. They have been professional and talked to me in a civil way.

Original 3 star review was due to extenuating circumstances that day regarding a different subject than the current/final Loan Officer we spoke with. The final officer we were assigned was MUCH better, and helped us solve all of our issues and questions and made the process much simpler and quicker.
Original Review: July 13, 2017
We had to refinance our house and we got a notice for a V.A. home loan refinance and it ended up being ClearPath. The application process was mostly pleasant but there were some difficulties. The loan officers were not as informed or as truthful as I would have liked. My wife had no idea what an escrow account was. And the loan officer explained that it was a fund of money that continues to build up as the value of the house appreciated and that would then get dispersed to you either on a six month or yearly basis when you ask for it or when you transfer the loan to a different carrier. That is grossly inaccurate and it has nothing to do with that.
But for the most part, they were very courteous and were able to answer questions. It all completed satisfactorily in the end. Overall, it was a fairly pleasant experience, but given the exact same situation again, I would actively look for a different loan agency. They need to make sure that the loan officers are both entirely versed in all of the seemingly simple questions that will come up from home buyers during the loan process and has the ability to explain them at a very low level. They need to be able to explain property taxes and things like that to somebody who has never owned a home before.

I needed to make some home improvements so I opted for a refinance with ClearPath. The guy that I talked to was very well-spoken. I didn’t have to ask him twice about something and he had an answer right away. If he didn’t, he would get back to me on our next conversation. He's easy to work with and he was very clear and professional. I had to get some copies of bank statements, driver’s license and some common stuff, and I sent them to him the first time then they got to me and said they needed a copy of my social security. It would’ve been easier for me to do all of this at once but unfortunately, it wasn’t. But other than that, it was a smooth transition. Also, I needed an appraisal of this property. When I first came in, it was appraised at $230,000 which was last year and I told them that. But they had to have an appraisal and they sent a guy out and he appraised it at $230,000. There wasn't a problem and it's just something that had to be done.
I basically knew what was going on because I read on this. We had some problems with the roof inspection but it was nobody's fault. Out here in Arizona, the roof inspections are free so nobody wants to come and give one. Plus, we coated it before and they needed proof of that through the roof inspection. We got hung up on that for almost two weeks. There was one guy who came out and then he didn’t seem too interested and it pissed me off. I ran him off and I had to get another one but they canceled out on me. Finally, the third guy came out and went up there. There were no problems but they needed proof. They couldn’t take my word for it.
Other than that, it was very clear and the cash was approved on a Thursday and it went in the bank on a Friday. A company that works that quick but thorough was top of my rating on what they do. They told me it was supposed to take 30 to 45 days but this took almost six months because of the problems with the roof inspection.

Gabriel, the gentleman who called me from ClearPath was very nice about everything. I applied for a 30-year fixed VA loan and going through that process was really easy. Basically, I faxed him three things I had from buying the house. The paperwork was also easy and minimal because he already had the papers that I had filed before for this house. A couple of times, he sent some things in the mail for me that needed to be signed and I sent it back to him. The final was a notary that came to my house. The loan officer was also a very nice guy. It may go up again in the next five years and I don't think it's ever going to go much lower than that.
But I refinanced a couple times, did whatever I could do to lower my interest and this was the easiest application I've done. It was also the smoothest and I was very happy as things went excellently better than I expected. The rep was very clear about what he needed. He was also very patient with me as I'm a disabled veteran and I don't get around very quickly. I had to go down into town itself and he was very kind and considerate. He was also personable, very professional and I enjoyed talking to him. He even called me to find out how I was doing when he knew that I wasn't feeling well. Some of the other lenders we talked to were only gonna do a one-month deferred but ClearPath did two months so I didn’t have to make a payment after two months. And that money we got quite a few bills paid off. I did everything through e-mail and it was a lot easier than when I first got the Veterans loan. One of the loan officers explained that the loan would add money but that would get two months deferred and then my payment would go all the way down to $1,000.
I started the process with them but then I decided that I wasn’t gonna do it because we’re worried about the adjustable rate thing. My loan officer called me and told me I’d be getting stuff in the mail about the Loyalty program. They would make sure it would look like they’re gonna go up after 41 months and if the rates are gonna go up, then I'd let him know so he could get a fixed rate. But I haven't received anything yet and I don’t know how they’re gonna do it now since they sold the loan to Freedom. But we still decided to go ahead and do it, get the almost $80 less a month for at least 41 months and then get even more caught up on a lot of things.
Also, I’m supposed to get all my escrow but I didn’t. But overall, ClearPath was really easy to work with. My loan officer was friendly, and he explained everything to me. Our agent at ClearPath, Mike, was very good and he talks like a family member. He's the most confident representative I have met in my life and he's really number one. He made me feel very comfortable in what he was doing and he was great at explaining everything to details. I felt okay because there are so many scams going on around here in this day and time so, it's hard to really kind of trust people but he was okay. We love him.
He made the process very easy for us. He explained everything about it, what we have to do and if we have to send certain papers back or how everything is supposed to go. He also kept a constant check, made sure that we were okay and anytime anything came up that he felt as though we would want to know, in which we did, he would call us and let us know what was going on and how far we've gotten in case we didn't know. He also told us about an honesty policy that they have in working with a VA and that made me feel more comfortable because I know the VA and I just approve of anything.
From the first time that we got a mortgage here, besides the aim itself going through them and not a financing lending place and just the VA, this was the best experience that I had. People are going to call you and say they're from so and so place and this and that and it's like a runaround thing like people are not very honest. But ClearPath, Mike and everything were right on time. We didn't have to worry or think about or have doubts or listen to any other. We put our peace and trust in him. We feel that it is a really tight organization and we feel that it takes care of their clients. You can always talk to someone from the office and it's not a difficult organization to deal with.

I called them three weeks ahead of time and told them I'd be late. They said it's okay but they're going to fine me $25. But what they did is they went to the credit bureau and turned me in so I lost about 80 points on my score. I was very upset. I didn't know that I cannot miss a month's payment. I also got all paraphernalia from ClearPath like booklets six months ago so I appreciate ClearPath. They are good. The only thing I'm mad about is that I have to suffer the consequences.
