I have used Match before years ago and was on the site off and on. When I moved to a new state I used it again and then decided to hid my profile and was off the site for 1-2 years. I went to get back on and when I tried to log in I could not. So I did the reset password and could not find me. So I decided to set up a new profile then received a message saying that email has been used but the subscription was terminated. It also said new subscription would be reviewed and deleted? WHAT? I emailed customer support and each time I would get the "generic written message." I tried 3 or 4 times to email and explain that I had not been on the site and ask why was my profile terminated. If it was because it was inactive then I could understand but why could I not set up a new one. Same stupid response - they copy and paste it.
I then called customer support and got a lovely woman on the other end who told me to set up a new profile and I had to go through the entire story again a few times and when I asked why would it say new profiles would be reviewed and deleted??? WHAT? She had no answer. She was kind enough to say she would escalate to another department that could help and I should receive and email to reset my password. It has been two weeks and nothing. I even emailed with the reference number she provided me and not a peep. There is no customer service and they will not even try to figure out what the problem is and provide any answers. I would not recommend Match.com for there are other companies who do care about their customers.

With the basic subscription you can't even read messages sent by other users. You also cannot turn off two-step verification. Match has clearly become a money grab, and I can honestly say I used to like it but now I HATE it. GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

I have been a member since April 2021. I will not be renewing. The site is fatally flawed and I don't believe many of the profiles and I suspect they are fabricated. Why would a dating/intro site fabricate? Only one reason; they lack real people to bring together. There has to be a better way to spend $80 than this. Photos will not upload either, some do, some don't. It's 2022, this is inexcusable, in my mind. Very disappointing. There are better choices out there and I'll be looking to those...

I do not care for the auto renewal, and had previously turned it off. When I signed back up this time it makes me go through my iTunes account to turn off auto renew. Since when do you have to go to a different app or website to turn off that site's renewal/subscription. Seems like a shady way to take my money and I do not care for it. Other than that it seems to be just another dating site.

Signed up for Match.com $44 a month. Didn’t meet anybody so after a week I deleted the app. Week later I got back on to try it again and it would not let me restore my subscription. Then it said, "Restore your subscription and you will be billed the difference at the end of your cycle if you do not cancel beforehand." So I clicked on the one month renewal of 2699. Charge my card $37 and I still couldn’t see any of my messages or my likes. This app is a joke and a scammer and they’re basically just trying to rip off people's money. If I can’t see likes more messages what was the $37 subscription for?

"Match.com" doesn't do the matching. They give you a thousand of members in your chosen age range and have you browse through them. I have a certain requirements for a guy (non-religious, non-smoker...), but I'd have to sort out through everyone myself, the site would just throw them all in bulk, disregarding my wishes. Then, for my profile to be "on the top" the site wants me to pay extra BY HOUR. There are also a lot of scammers - good looking guys, sometimes with very good English, sometimes they write as if they use a Google translator. They are easy to spot, but the fact that they can use "Match.com" is worrisome. I am in a "senior" section, but do not think it's any different in other age category. The virtual "help" is a joke, using the same "come-on" for any question. Do not recommend this site to anyone.

Save your money and stick with the free dating apps. Match.com is absolutely crap now. There are hardly anyone using their service (at least in my small city) and most of the users aren't even paid members. You're stuck with paying $120 for a bad service because you were obligated to sign-up for a minimum of 3 months.

Match.com is being sued by the FCC for fraudulent marketing and scamming us out of our money. Check the Better Business Bureau before giving them any money. They’re an illegitimate, shady business. I bought a membership at the direction of some friends and soon learned there were almost no local members in my area. After a day I was sadly disappointed. Also, many of the profiles appear to be “shells” - no responses and nobody reaches out. Attempted to cancel my membership and get a prorated refund, they refused and insisted I keep looking. On the hook now for 6-months. Your money is better spent on other websites that aren’t shady. Buyer beware!

When I complain, Match responds by explaining that people can hide their profiles.
I totally understand how it works, but the odds of that happening, someone messaging or liking you, etc. and within an hour hiding their profile is pretty unlikely. I'm quite certain they plant profiles to keep people on board. I finally called with this complaint. They didn't even argue, they refunded my recent membership payment. I can't say I won't go back because there aren't many options- but they engage in some fraudulent advertising.

Hands down, and with the exception of the scam-riddled Elite Singles, this is the worst dating site I've encountered. Match.com is ineptly designed, clunky to use and often maddening just to access. The vaunted algorithm they employ to find you a supposedly perfect Match is in fact so lacking in nuance and discernment that it would consistently fail to pair Romeo with Juliet, or Cleopatra with Mark Antony.
It's bad enough that most of the clients lie about their age - that goes on at all dating sites. But Match made this worse by consistently sending me prospects who were 5-7 years older than the range I'd specified. And to create the impression that their dating pool is much larger than it actually is, they continued to send me "new" lists of women I'd looked at and rejected (or at least not selected) over and over again. Match.com does not let you keep track of women you've sent messages to unless they respond -- a functional limitation that can cause you embarrassment if you've forgotten you reached out earlier to certain women. Match.com sends out a daily email with all of your "new” choices, but often when you click on a picture, the display pops up another woman.
To make things worse, although you can reach a human support person on the phone, he or she is unable to deal with many recurring problems -- site access, for one. Match.com's log-in verification process is so time-consuming that it would not exaggerate to characterize it as abusive. Oh yes! Consider this: A verification process they have been using for at least six months shows eight panels with five or six dice in each; you have to pick the panel in which all the dice add up to 14. In many case the numbers/spots on some of the cubes are very difficult to read. But here's the thing: You must get TEN of these tests correct in order to move onto the next step: a two-step phone-text verification. Still worse is that if you have not gotten, say, test #4 or #7 correct, they do not flag this until you've completed all ten panels (in perhaps 3-4 minutes if your eyes and your arithmetic are pretty good).
At that point, if you've missed on any of the tests, you get the cute message "That's not quite correct!" and you have to start all over again. I complained about this, and the support person conceded it was an extremely annoying feature. He said he would report it to his superiors, but that was two months ago and nothing has changed.
Let's talk about those 'superiors' for a moment. If you have a real gripe with Match.com, there is NO way the company will allow you to communicate with anyone other than their feeble front-line phone support. They offer a 'Contact Us' email link, but don't waste your time with this, because it is fake. Click on ‘Contact us” and it brings up an error message that says you need to fix your Safari browser to communicate by email. Great, except that I was using a Firefox browser. I reported this problem when I first subscribed, but six months later the same error message was still popping up. Call support and they pretend you are the first problem to have reported this problem.
Like I said, they will not communicate with any client/customer/dupe via email. The best they will do is send a canned message, in my case with the name of one “Raul H” at bottom. Raul, if he exists, is apparently out to lunch, since his canned responses will ignore whatever you've written in your email. Tell them you caught a computer virus clicking on a spoofed Match.com promotion, and "Raul" will return a 6000-word explanation of their privacy and vaccine policies.
Some of Match.com’s practices verge on fraud. For instance, visibility "Boosts" for your profile are an upgrade you pay for. But unless you are very careful, you will accidentally trigger, and inadvertently use up, your boosts with errant key strokes. Also, they send out a special half-price extension offer when your subscription is nearing renewal. Click on it to see the details of the offer and, lo, you will discover that you've just approved -- and paid for – the renewal. This is very misleading -- but again, don't expect to get past phone support if you want to complain about it. Support may offer a refund, but the company apparently will do nothing to correct its shoddy ways.
Match claims to be the biggest dating service, but it's hard to believe that with so many customers, they would continue such practices and offer a web interface that behaves like it was coded by a seventh grader. They are awful in oh-so-many ways, and you would do well to avoid them. Read some of the other negative reviews posted here for a more complete catalogue of Match's many negatives, including holding onto your credit card information so that they can 're-enroll' and charge you months after you've left the service. Bottom line: a big thumbs down for Match.com.

Match uses an app and a program that is clunky and needs updating for well paying customers. Match.com falsely advertises. They give the impression that for $143 for 6 months (which is what I paid them), you get full access to everything. But then AFTER you sign up they buttonhole you for MORE money. They wanted me to pay another $29 a month so free members could contact me. They didn't say that before I paid them! It's a rip off!
And then match.com refuses to allow me to search for younger women. I am 54 years old. So far after 2 weeks of being a paid subscriber they haven't sent me even one match. NOT ONE! The women that they allow me to search are 95% my age. They didn't tell me before I paid them that I wouldn't be allowed to search for women aged 18 to 39. All I'm getting is hundreds of divorced women who are age 50 to 60! That's not what I want. I want a younger woman to marry, as do many men. Match.com WON'T allow you to do that. They won't give me access to the profiles of younger women.
I regret signing up and don't recommend them to anybody. If you are 50 years old and want a bunch of divorced 50 years olds with children living at home, then you might like Match.com. That's not what I'm looking for. What a waste of money. Match.com misrepresents their product. They will hound you after you sign up for more money! Save your money friend. You might as well sign up for Plenty-Of-Fish for free, because Match.com is the same thing! Match.com is a big disappointment for me.

The sixth week she goes, "I should have mentioned that I'm married." I broke it off, she cyber-stalked me, and filed some complaint to Match and they promptly terminated my account without due process or a refund. So basically they are an uncaring, nameless, voiceless, greed machine that ALSO OWNS OkCupid and Hinge, from which I've also been terminated without a refund. Isn't this unAmerican? I cancelled after 24 hrs. They refuse to give a refund! The customer support fails to communicate effectively, and they will not explain anything. I notified them in writing via text box, and made copies. I finally had to call my 'bank' which contacted Match. That finally got their attention! They got hit with a charge back, very quickly. Don't listen to their intimidation tactics of no refund, call your bank and tell your bank what they're doing.
It's all a scam. Pay close attention what they're doing. The matches are based on an algorithm, which does not work; but actually is designed not to respond to your selections, but to "feed the system." You'll notice that the age ranges of the women and men are capped, and staggered accordingly. Also, when you check the boxes on your deal breakers, it doesn't work. If constricted, it's by design. They're basing it on their model of keeping the site operating $. Not on finding you a suitable match that you're looking for, or giving you a chance to finding a way off the site! IF the did, you would leave! They can't have that! They have to keep you on the site. But, they have that calculated, mathematically. And, IF you leave, they are hoping to keep your 60-90 bucks $ or whatever as a payment, thinking you can't get your money back. It's a scam.
Someone is getting rich off of this. They're only making happy the upper 22% or so, of the upper female, or male members on this site with plenty of dates. Some of the profiles are even gone! They are honest enough to tell you in the text IF you read closely enough! Ex: "I am no longer here, because of Covid-19, or I am leaving in case they don't remove this profile. And, they are not removing some profiles, when you do leave! Stay away from this place. Especially, if you're a guy. We all need some federal legislation to come down to help clean this industry up!

1) Their algorithm does not work. I put very specific settings, even set them as “dealbreakers” and would still get likes and messages from 100+ people a day who didn’t match my settings, it was exhausting. Not only that but I’d say 20% of the messages I received from these men were inappropriate and made me feel objectified. Ex: One guy told me he wanted to tickle my feet so I responded saying how inappropriate it was and then he said he wanted to lick my toes. Another guy was offended that I never responded to him, after I responded letting him know my dog had passed and wasn’t checking Match, he told me to “** you and your dead dog”. Yes, I blocked both of them.
2) After this horrible 48 hour experience on Match, I tried to cancel. I had purchased a 6 month installment plan ($27 a month). I called Match and told them about my experience and that I no longer wanted to use their site, that I cancelled my subscription after 2 days and they refused a refund. Match.com is the most untrusted company that you can give not just ALL your personal data to, but your information about your in depth self and pictures too. And guess who you are giving all that data to? Yes, OUTSOURCED companies that don’t even speak English. Most identity fraud, scams, and data selling come from these outsourced companies that do not have any repercussions for hurting Americans. I set up an account just to be locked out after they received all my personal data. Here is what I experienced afterwards.
First outsourced “customer service” rep was a male that had complete access to my account and made my account invisible to other users after my complaint of being kicked out. He was very inappropriate and told me that I wouldn’t have any trouble finding men after looking through my pictures!!!! He then started asking me personal questions about my pictures like asking me what “those things were called” that I was on, and if I enjoyed them.... He was completely invasive and inappropriately creepy. I was so uncomfortable that this person had all my personal information and could TOTALLY HIJACK MY ACCOUNT with my name and pictures and I wouldn’t have access to get back on to delete. When he gave me access to get back on, I was once again kicked back off!
Second OUTSOURCED “customer service rep” answered the phone in a foreign accent, I then asked for their US-American customer service line and she would not give me one. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she PRETENDED TO TRANSFER ME and then changed her name pretending to be someone else, it was so obvious! Then I asked her if there was a higher manager I could talk to and with a prideful attitude said “”NOPE.. I am the highest here and you have no one else you can talk to." She said I would be receiving an email about my account and that was the only way to communicate was through email.
The email came and said this. “Your Match account has been terminated. Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose specifics about any Match account, including your own.” WOW! Basically you have given all your personal data, even pictures and now they can hijack your account and do whatever with it because you can’t even delete you pictures etc. - Oh and not even you can get information on your own account. You need to know that this isn’t even truly a dating site, it’s a cover for data collection and all your personal information that they sell. You can not trust any OUTSOURCED companies that do not have the American people’s interest at heart.

I did make it a point to report these accounts, just for the heck of it and of course, they were never removed.
All these fake accounts are still there. Many with multiple accounts, same pictures just different names and locations. It's a shame. This site is a scam, both directly from Match.com itself and from overseas scammers that manage to create accounts. I requested a refund but of course the request wasn't acknowledged. Stay away from this site as well as most of the other ones! You're better off staying single and someday just meeting someone out in the real world.

Well where do I start? This is one expensive dating site. 50 bucks to join. That’s not a problem, and that’s just basic services. 50 bucks to buy what they call boost, 5 bucks for to know when your messages are read, then 5 bucks for you to call and have your number blocked, then they promise you love, so after over 200 likes and messages sent, talking to a dating expert that just reads from a booklet with her children screaming in the background and that’s free your first time. After that you pay 50 bucks just to talk to a dating expert. So following all suggestions I had only one reply and she dropped me for more money. The women on this site are gold diggers. I can offer love, show love and yes I make great money but when someone comes along with more money the gold diggers on this site and Match.com could care less. All they want is your money. Please, please don’t waste your hard earned money on gold diggers. For your own sanity.

Match Group's customer service is not very friendly. They hide behind an overseas call center to not deal with upset customers. I had a con artist try to take over my home and tried to steal from me. That person then reported me to Match.com and instead of them working with me on it, they turned around and said that I violated their terms. They said they investigated it using local law enforcement. According to my local police they never contacted them. Instead of talking to me and hearing my story they just said they couldn't for "Privacy Reasons." Their customer service is useless and because they own most of the market they proceeded to ban me from all of their platforms and just hid behind this wall. It even says in their "Community Guidelines" that defaming someone goes against them which is what they did. Beware of all Match Group sites. Look them up and see who they own.

Also there is absolutely no way to get in touch with them (even though they have contact us on their page) to complain about anything. The features Match.com describes in their online documentation are completely absent from both the app and the browser version. I have communicated numerous times with Tech Support and they just blithely state that the terminology used in their documentation is "different" than how the app looks. So be prepared to never find anything you are looking for, either by poking around or looking through the online Help. If you do ask questions the first thing you get is an automated reply that never has anything even remotely to do with what you asked. You then have to Reply to get a human response. None of them are any better than the bot. You will never get an answer to any question, no matter how simple.
I upgraded to the Premium service at purchase. That supposedly gives you access to several upgrade features. Guess what? Most of them don't even exist. They just use misleading names to suggest this feature and that. But in reality they don't even exist. I live close to the Canadian border. I was told (by Match.com) that my subscription includes Searching in Canada. But guess what? There is no way to perform a Search for Canada. In any way, shape, or form. If you attempt to provide location info for Canada you get an error that the place you are Searching is not legitimate.
I am a professional and posted a handful of OK photos. I wrote a profile that was reviewed and updated by a plethora of female friends. I have sent a Message to over 150 profiles (because you never know if a Profile is actually a real person). Over 18 months I have received ZERO responses. It is possible I am that bad. But one would think at least somebody would say Hello. I have asked Tech Support whether there is something wrong with my account - for example, you can't Message if you create a Free account. They don't answer the question and just tell me to "keep trying". I even paid the extra to enable Free users to message back to me. Still nothing.
You will be less frustrated and have more luck stepping out your front door and screaming at the sky - or the neighbor's dog. I recommend you DO NOT spend a cent on Match. I have talked to dozens of people who have had similar experiences on Match. Yes, there may be some success stories. They are by far the exception.

Match is no different than guys hiding behind profiles in order to lure you to their place to have sex, once! Then ignore you and tell the women after you that you are a stalker, as they will be labeled when their one night of sex is over. Don’t pay to be on this site, ever.

I've been a paid member of Match on and off for the better part of 6 years. All has been good until recently, the past year or so. I am a gay woman that obviously seeks gay women and this is listed in the preferences on my profile. For the past year, and only in the past year, I have been receiving daily messages from men. Every single day. Every single week. For the past year. This is far beyond the occasional "guy who pretends to be a woman seeking women" profile - with the amount of men that I've received messages from despite my profile falling under the 'women seeking women' category tells me that Match.com is now displaying my profile in the "Top Picks" for men, despite the fact that my profile is not supposed to be shown to men. In other words - Match.com is now drawing from gay women's profiles just to keep their (paying) men customers.
As someone who is being charged ~$50/month, this is completely unacceptable. There is no way these men would even have a chance to view my profile if it were not for Match shoving my profile in their faces. No doubt they're doing this to other gay women as well. Cancelling my membership and Match has forever lost a customer.

At the second week, I called and was told the problem would be rectified by the end of the day. Not trusting that answer, I waited until 90 minutes before they closed for the weekend to call again.
This time, the rep said she could clearly see that they assigned my credit card and account to an old email address I had years prior. Yet, after an hour she still couldn't get the issue fixed and told me I'd have to wait for their tech department to fix it. OR, I could create a new email address somewhere and then open a new account with them. Neither was a solution, so I asked her to cancel my account and issue a refund. After waiting again for her to speak to her supervisor, she came back and told me that a refund could not be issued because the request wasn't submitted within 24-48 hours of opening the account. Blew me away.

I got a pretty good deal for 4.99 for a one month trial. Well here we are almost 3 weeks in, and zero matches, I have sent probably over a hundred messages, my pictures are good, I like to think I'm a fairly nice looking guy, I put up good pictures, no filters, dressed nicely, no posing pics, just decent photos...And nothing...I would say, absolutely do not spend anything on this site.
The pickings are slim to begin with, and I think the few conversations I have encountered were stale at best. A lot of old profiles, and if they are not active subscribers, they cannot respond, unless you pay extra for them to do so. Match.com is in the business of wasting your time to try to generate new business. Here is how their game is played. The vast amount of profiles are for unpaid members. The only way a member can contact another member is if they are a paying member. The only way a member can read and reply to another member's message is if they are a paying member. This way Match.com uses its paying members to get the unpaid members to become paid members.
The worst part about this whole thing is that there is no way for the paying members to know which members are paid and which members are unpaid. Since the vast number of members are unpaid, the paying members end up being used by Match.com to generate new business. Paying members ARE NOT paying to insure all their messages can be read and replied to by any other member, unless the other member opts to pay to read and reply to other members. To sum it up, paying members pay to generate business for Match.com. There is a word for this, it is called FRAUD.

It's not for any money it is for principle. I am not their average client. I am a owner of a large company and they should know better than to practice business like this. I will update this review after we win our case against these amateurs who make decisions with no investigation. Stay away from match. Geography appeared to be the most important thing in the match, even though there was an elaborate questionnaire. Bumble is TERRIBLE at meeting my "search criteria" and even as a paying customer there are very few ways to actually connect, plus it's too limited in the ability to "write about yourself." I've been a premium subscriber to the site now for a few months, and so far it's been very underwhelming to say the least. I'm not completely sure if I should be jaded at the site, or the women on there, or both. My profile that I created is very thorough, complete, and sincere. Way more than most that I've seen on the site. My profile word count is maxed out at 4000 words. My pictures are very good, and although I'm no Brad Pitt look-alike, I'm better looking than most at my middle age, and get my fair share of looks from the ladies. However, like another person posted here, I put out like 50 unique messages to women and I might get 1 or 2 message replies. It's ridiculous! I get WAY more interaction from women by doing it the traditional way (bars, clubs, social events, etc...) than this crap. I'm a bit ashamed and embarrassed that I even tried this. Again, I'm not sure if it's the site or the women on there, but I think it's a bit of both.
For instance, some women will send me a "Like", but then when I message them, with something like "Hi, my name is Trevor! :)" they don't message back!! I can't tell you how many times that's happened. I mean, why send a "Like" if you're not going to interact conversationally with the person?? I feel like a lot of women on there are really not serious about it and just treating it like entertainment or something (?).
The site isn't free of guilt though either, as it sucks you in by showing you all these "available" women, but most of the profiles are by members that are not even active. Also, most of the women (90%) are nothing that I'm interested in anyway - overweight, unattractive, no real winners from what I can tell. One person said it best, that the women on these sites are mostly "Leftovers". Ain't that the truth, sheesh! This was just a big waste of time, effort, and $$. I'll go back to the traditional way of meeting someone. Even though that's not all that easy with my schedule, it's better than doing it through this worthless means via Match.com.

There’s something so inauthentic about the whole online dating idea anyway that really I think most people don’t take the whole thing very seriously. It’s a very impersonal experience. Someone I met online (not in person) said when they tried to pull me up all traces of me were gone. So apparently they kept my credit card info and put my information back up. Then they tried to bill my credit card again but there was no money.
After my bank had blocked the company Match, I should hope they don't attempt anything again. Because even though I closed it again (when it was put back up) they are trying to get money off my card everyday! Even this morning, that's why I had to block them. This time tomorrow they will see it's useless to keep trying. I wish I had done my research and read all these negative reviews before I dealt with them. Like others on here, I have same complaint. Paid for a 6 month membership, only to get wildly inappropriate matches, most of which the men looked like they were incarcerated. MATCH completely ignores your "Must haves" -- like education, body type, race, etc. Example: I checked "must have" for college degree/masters and continually got high school/some college. Even after "x-ing" their matches, the same men would be recycled back through days later. And you CAN NOT DO YOUR OWN SEARCH -- they feed you their daily allotment of mis-matches then shut you off till next day. And site freeloaders == they abound.
95% of the men I tried to contact are not paying members -- MATCH then has the audacity to ask for an extra $9.99 a month to enable these freeloaders - losers -- to contact you on your dime. No thanks. There is no actual BLOCKING either-- the creeps can still see your profile. They just can't message you. SO... When MATCH ignored my demands for my money back, I simply updated my profile summary to a rant about how bad MATCH was and put in some pretty crazy faux photos and personal details. Hopefully they will keep that profile up for perpetuity -- end result they refunded my money. DO NOT JOIN!!! You have been warned. SCAM and FRAUD.

That was probably the worst part of all. To make things worse they allow people to post themselves in any category they want whether it's applicable or not. A ** woman posted as a ** woman? Match says that's OK. An Asian man posted as a ** woman? Yeah, you guessed it...Match is A-OK with that too! Why even bother with categories at all then? I was also locked out of my account and after a week they FINALLY told me they were NOT going to explain why and to review their Terms of Service. Really? It's so vague literally anything could be in violation. This utterly unacceptable and downright rude. I see others that have logged the same complaint. Number one. Match.com does not inform you that they intend to charge your credit card for a renewal. Regardless, ever since I disputed they're doing so and tried to cancel due to their response it was declined. I had no choice in the matter and continued supposedly with the subscription being told that I would have access to everything until April 2020. However, chronically and repeatedly they have blocked me from the web page after they took my funds, closed out my account and deny me access. I don't understand how they can get away with this as they have obviously done this to others as well. This webpage is a sham and their practices are deceitful.
I have not had one bit of a good experience. Has been discovered time and again that you are informed someone likes you and then you discovered that they never pushed that button. They block you repeatedly while they take your funding. If anyone on this page denounces them for these reasons, you better believe it. I think web providers should block them from doing business with the general public. I will be notifying my bank again, and demand a full refund for a complete waste of my time and nothing but frustration.

After the first waste of time and money, I said never again! I'm an attractive 55 year old female and due to the nature of my job, don't get out to meet anyone. I (thought) I deleted all photos and summaries, etc. the first time I cancelled but amazingly when I joined the 2nd time, everything was still there! Red flag #1. Notice the dot next to the name. Green supposedly means they're on and active, yellow is within some hours, no dot is either cancelled and or who knows how old the profile is. Successful, attractive, good profile. Wondering WHY I get zero back and messages to the VERY FEW that are even remotely "okay". I noticed no dots to any I've "liked." Majority of "Recommended" (which ew. Really??!!) look like homeless bottom feeders. Between the first waste of time and money and the "maybe it's changed" second time, I'm out about $230. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I paid for a full year because it was cheaper per month. After several times of my account being locked for no reason I decided to cancel. They refuse to refund any of the unused payment. They offered me to reconnect again, but no refund. Why would I want to do that? Their service was not acceptable and that is why I cancelled. How are they able to not issue any refunds? I just want what I paid for and didn't use. They are a scam. Do not use Match.com.

In late 2018, I gave my brother my credit card information so he could sign up for Match while he was going through marital problems. He signed up for one quarter and paid approximately $75. He cancelled once, then resigned a couple months later. When he did re-sign, it was with his credit card. Yet Match charged my account. I called them, sent them the proof of cancellation (my brother saved the screen of him cancelling). They never responded. A couple months later, I was billed yet again. Once again, calling them did nothing. I am only now reviewing them because they have inexplicably charged my account this weekend, 6 months after my last unauthorized charge. To say this company is shady is an understatement. Their customer service is horrendous and they refuse to admit any wrongdoing. I will be suing them very soon. Details will be given later.

100% waste of time. Expensive as well. You can pay them, you can write 50 people and those 50 people may not even have a subscription to even see their inbox, let alone write you back. Do you want to pay extra so anyone you write can respond? Go ahead. Those people who don't have subscriptions still won't see your message because they know they don't have a subscription so they don't check it regardless, just as I didn't when I didn't have a paid subscription. Want to pay even more to see if people read your messages? Go ahead. I did. Cost me nearly $80 for the month I was subscribed to waste my time and write nearly 40 unique messages to women in the area. I think of the 40, only two were even read. I believe this site is a major scam to get your money and that is it.

Please do yourself a favor and save your time and money. Match.com is full of old profiles of former members who haven't been active on the site in years. You may see a lot of search results, but you will also probably see that most of them are ancient. Match.com keeps the profiles up on their website after members cancel their subscription so it looks like you have hundreds of potential matches! Not true! Also, if you are currently a paid member and cancel your membership, make sure Match.com stops debiting your checking account or charging your credit card. They will "accidentally forget" to remove the draft/charge from their system.

I looked up her name and found only one person with that name, located in Uganda. From the sentence structure I could eventually tell English was not her native language. Then after awhile came the request for money. A lost check at the store ! etc/etc. I immediately terminated the contact erased all correspondence and informed Match.com. They never responded.
The next one involved a "lady" from Roseburg Oregon. This one was so skillfully done that I actually fell for it, thought I had met some one who actually cared. I opened a few and soon realized they had not been contacted by me but someone who told them I had met my match but I had a friend named Robert who was looking. He gave out a Gmail address and asked them to go off site to meet him. It was very upsetting. He even blocked the women I had been contacting.
I called Match every other day to resolve this problem. Every other day I would go to log on only to get a message there was a problem with my account. I’d call their “specialist”, they would change my password, and tell me my profile was activated again. Only to have the same problem message again the next day. They could not stop this guy over a two week period. One woman that I had interest in and she in me, got so upset with the mixed messages (mine/scammer’s) she eventually told me to ** off. That really hurt.

Did you know Match does not delete your photo once you cancel your account? What this means is that your profile and photos remain on their site for YEARS! There have been several class action law-suits brought against Match for this but Match has been successful at winning because the consumer has agreed to this in the small print of their user agreement. So basically, as a subscriber you could be writing to someone who is not active and this person will never see your messages. For all we know, this person may be married with six kids for the last five years. The info about the lawsuits is all over the internet, just google it. Aside from this, there are bots or fake people all over the site. How can they think it's okay to waste our time? Fortunately there is big competition for match now and that makes me so happy. Try Bumble, I have been very happy with them and it's free.
Further, the billing practices at Match are deceitful. Subscriptions are automatically renewed if you don't answer their ten minute process to cancel your account. They manage to put this info in small print, hoping you don't read it and they can auto renew your subscription. However, recently I changed the info so not to renew the account and they billed me anyway. I sat on the phone for 20 mins and some guy told me he would go to management and try to negotiate a refund. I did get the refund but that is because it was within three business days of the change and I think by law they have to allow you to cancel with a full refund. Never again!

To start off with, Match uses ladies that are no longer on there to get men to join. Once you join you find that a lot of the women's profiles are either fake or hacked. The women will not reply back to you. I just got off of it. They got me for 145.00. I met one woman and she was a loon. She used 3 alias names and one name she had something going on in court. I talked with one woman and we were doing good, then one day she was gone. Nothing. And on your likes these younger and sometimes older women would like you. Then you would try to delete them cause they were hackers, and in the likes you can X them and they would be gone. But several of those profiles I had didn't have an X and you couldn't delete them. Those are the hackers that is watching what you do and who you are talking to.
Some women wouldn't even acknowledge you by sending a reply back. I've been on Match 3 times and every time it was the same thing. So I'm NEVER getting on there anymore. Or any dating site for that matter. Seniors Meet, Our Time and the other senior sites are all the same. The current theory I have is that now I am older and perhaps older women are more cautious about dating. Not only that but they seem not even interested in meeting someone new. Well... interesting experience to say the least. When you sign up you are almost instantly bombarded with likes, comments, and messages. Then if that wasn't enough to keep you busy, you get what's call a free boost. For one hour you get bumped to the top of the search list. I was already overwhelmed with the response to my initial profile post, which was ridiculously brief, but the boost brought in another 11 views and several more messages. Ha, I thought, what a great online dating site this is.
The boost ends after an hour, then I spend the next few days making inquiries and responding to some. It's worth mentioning that the most appealing ones did not respond back, at all. Then I find out that if there is a green dot beside their name they are online right now. A green ring means they have logged in in the last 24 hrs. A yellow dot, mean longer than 24 hrs and no dot means, they are either not a member, or they are a cancelled or expired member. So guess what, those most appealing ones? They have no dot. Not even a member. Apparently they can do this for a year after your membership expires.
So back to the searches. The first boost is free, after that you are on your own unless you pay for a boost ($3.99 or a multi-pack which gives you a discount). I figured I didn't need another boost in the first few days. But then, I realized many of my so-called matches from my sign-up day are a long way from me, like in another province, or at least a good 2 - 5 hours drive away. So I narrowed my preferences since I don't want a long distance relationship. A few days go by and there is the odd sporadic view and a few likes but nothing like there was on day 1. So I purchased another boost for 3.99. What did I get? 4 views, no likes, no messages. Now, I'm not the prettiest flower in the box but I am definitely up there in the top 3 or 4. These are dismal results given that I live in a city well with a population of well over 1 million people.
I bought the 3 month membership thinking this would be plenty long enough. It won't be at this rate. The best guys I see are not members and the ones who see me are either that passive they are waiting for me to send them a message, or they are ridiculously picky. Not that I'm not a bit picky, I am, but what I'm picky about is not appearance. I have a well developed profile now and it's just not enough on this website unless you are willing to go fishing for anything, including the bottom feeders. Will I renew my membership when the 3 months are up... not a chance. Glad I didn't pay for more.

Anyway, my last free trial had all these new promotions that will pop out, and the way Match did it, I was not even aware that I had being charged for a 6-month plan. I called their representative, and she said that a few people have been calling with the same concern. She was only able to cancel the remaining 5 months; Match has no refunds, which is very concerning.
I felt duped, and even voiced my concern with another representative through chatting, which was a waste of time, since the answers were the usual big-corporation answers; avoiding responsibility at all cost. After this one month is over, I'm going to stay clear of Match, as I did eharmony. If Match would stop duping its customers, then I would recommend it to others. I decided to joined Match for 6 months. As a writer I do research so I decided to look for a serious relationship and research Match for fun. I saw the reviews were not the best but I decided what the heck I will give it a try. What I found in my many, conversations I had with men via emails or by cell or texting that there is a lot going on and off the dating site. It turns out that a lot of the men in my case were NOT looking for a serious relationships on Match, they wanted “hook-ups” or looking for a “friend” or “naked pictures” from woman or were married. I also spoke to several men who told me they were sending a lot of messages to women, with no reply. Also there are a lot of scammers trying to romance scam you out of your money. So for those of you who were SCAMMED that is not Match.com fault, It is your fault for sending money to strangers online! This is what I found in my research:
1) People who had less to say in their summary only a few words-sentences were not stable in their lives and had a reduce intellectual conversations.
2) People who had a lengthy summary were more interesting, with better jobs, well traveled and more able to carry on a conversation.
3) People with ONE picture and nothing in their summary were most likely NOT members who paid, they are just surfing profiles on match. As I always “liked” them, sent a message with never a reply back. I had a male friend join Match for free and he took an actor/model and placed that picture as his profile picture and said nothing in the summary. With in 24 hours he received many “likes” and messages but could NOT REPLY back as he was not a paid member on Match.
4) Pay attention to the “Green Dots” beside their profile names; The green dot on their main photo if it is a full dot with no hole in it means they are online now. If it has a tiny hole they were active within the hour or within 24hrs, the bigger the hole in the dot the longer it has been since they have been active on the site. A no green dot might mean they are not a paid subscriber or they have not been online for several weeks or months.
5) If You meet someone as I did, I made them hold a paper in front of their chest with my name on it and take a picture and send it to my email address or my cell phone. (I did the same to be fair.) The men who complied were the real person behind their “profile pictures”. The ones who did not, I suspected they were not the real person in their profiles. Possible scammers or they did not want to be bothered to do this for me which told me, they were not worth my time. Also try the “image search”. Google's reverse image search is a breeze on a desktop computer. Go to images.google.com, click the camera icon and either paste in the URL for an image you've seen online, upload an image from your hard drive.
6) Restaurant first date: Be careful! Bring a lot of cash or your credit cards as this happened to me, we went to a restaurant and ordered drinks and food. After the meal was done and they brought the “check” he said, "I need to go to the men's room. Be right back," I waited half an hour before I realized he left me with the check! I also heard a while back about a woman on a dating site. She went out with a guy she meet online and he ordered several wines and ordered several different appetizers and tried different foods on the menu and said, "I need to use the men's room" and never returned and she had over a $1,000 Restaurant bill to pay. So be careful to avoid potential dinner scams.
Do I think Match.com is the best dating site? NO. But neither are the others so I have been told by my female friends. As I think online dating is no different than Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. A lot of profile pictures, and a lot of reading. Online dating SUCKS!! Look at online dating as nothing more than another outlet for “social media”. By the way, no I did not find my man for a long term relationship. Still searching...

The app tends to freeze a good bit. It will go for weeks with no messages, then all of a sudden, they show up at once. Though I paid for 3 months, I cancelled my membership after one month. If you're going to sign up for a dating site, join the free ones. MATCH IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Be very leery of Match.com. First of all they send matches randomly not based on your requirements at all and second of all I recently rejoined for 3 months due to a special (normally their prices are totally unreasonable) and for no reason and with no warning they cancelled me. I sent a note about issue signing in and find out I was cancelled with no reason. When I questioned that, they tell me (verbatim) "Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose specifics about any Match account, including your own." Are you kidding me? So I have no recourse, no way to say they screwed up, just I have been removed. So unprofessional. There are so many other personal sites that don't require a membership like Cupid. I am just so disappointed in their unprofessionalism.

Match just started stopping me from logging in by diverting me to a page encouraging me to accept a dating coach...which I don't need...and another page I don't need. Stop this nonsense, Match! Not sure if there is an increased cost, but I can't get to my matches right now!

Asked for 50 mile radius and my profile was shared to all of North America and to men far outside my preferences. Match failed to actively push my profile to quality men locally but aggressively shared my profile ongoing to men far outside my preferences. Match denied this but I contacted the men 1500+ miles away and was told my profile was pushed to their feed. I learned my 50 mile limit was missing off my account and which Match denied however, a good friend had an identical experience. I did not feel like a client but instead used as bait. Blocking does not mean the inappropriate or stalker type men are blocked from seeing my profile. It means I will no longer see they are visiting my profile or able to view their messages. Frightening!

I was matched with a fake profile by the name of Cody. He stated that he is from LA but is working in Africa for a business trip. We communicated for about four weeks before he asked me for $7000 to cover some work related tasks. He was not able to do a video chat with me, that’s why when I started to suspect that he was a scammer artist. Warning to other users and a Match.com website, if anyone ask you for money. Don’t do it!

Although I did not wind up in a relationship as a result of using Match.com, nevertheless it was not due to any shortcomings associated with the site or its respectable cross-section of potential matches.

The site contained few individuals in my age group or geographical district. You have to pay for 3 months membership before seeing any possible matching profiles. Despite repeated requests to discontinue my membership I continued to receive suggested possible matches.

Really found there was no control over who set up a profile. I had numerous people contact me that I suspected were cat fishers. Definitely was contacted and groomed by at least two who were shocked I wouldn’t give them money after 3 weeks of contact.

I met My significant other on this site. I Also met many other very fine nice gentlemen on this site. I tried other sites, but the quality of the people on this site really stand out. I highly recommend this site. The free sites do not compare to match!

The site sends you FAKE interests and contacts information, i.e. it will tell you someone is interested or has sent you a message, but when you go to read it there is nothing, when you search the name of the alleged messenger, no one by that user name, and personal parameters (age, Gender, Color, location, etc.) come up. Most people are computer generated just to get you to buy their plan. It preys on the lonely and desperate who genuinely want to find a relationship. You're better off going to public gathering place to find a match.

Interesting site, new options and I like the matching process as it elements people that are not going to be suitable and takes a lot of guesswork out of dating. It even takes away location problems or the question of children or not. I really enjoy the site.

I had no problems with Match.com. That is where I found my husband that I am married to now. He was never dishonest with me and he was who he said he was. I never had problems with privacy issues or anything. It was a great website and I am glad I used it.

Well majority of the girls on the side were scammers from Africa and other locations. All they wanted was money telling you a sad story. It just was a joke. It's not just this one. They were all similar ripoffs

I’m 26 and my mom has been pushing me to date so I signed up for Match.com, this website is a joke! I have a age range of 26-30 set on my profile and I’m always getting messages from 50-60 year olds even though they say ‘your age range controls who sees you’. This is BS! I have had this for 1 month and only get matched with old men! Luckily I have the 3 month plan for a low payment of $136! There is hardly any one in the age range of 25-31(after resetting it) like advertised in commercials, news, magazines, and websites. I get more matches on Tinder! Match was labeled a scam according to the news and dating experts in 2019! It’s a HUGE scam. It’s also expensive af!

The matches were very good. It is extremely hard to find good singles in South Florida. I never viewed any of my matches as a bad match or a waste of time. Each date was a good experience for me and taught me more about want I really needed in a partner each time. I would recommend Match.com to anyone. Bottom line, I am now married to my last match.com match!

Not highly satisfied with my experience, most of the guys I met not really interested in a friendship or a relationship. After meeting and one more date it came out to be they wanted sex, or their requirements were unbelievable, also a good number of them turned out to be in a relationship or married.
