    I have been on and off Match.com over the past 5-7 years. This is what I find I do not like about Match.com;
    1. Customer service is only by email.
    2. Customer service responds with a computer generated response which does not address the issue reported.
    3. This is a best guess estimate but, I perceive over 50% of the members are not active and never receive your message.

    4. On the search, when you like someone, The person you message never responds and you do not get a read receipt. This is not an opinion but, fact, likes are just a waste of time because no one sees them or responds to them. This has been my experience with Match.

Match.com just replied and solved this issue by following through with what they promised.

    Original Review: Aug. 17, 2024

I tried for Match.com for one month, then received messages from an Asian guy with very attractive pictures. He was very affectionate and caring, saying that he was on a business trip and couldn't meet right away, but he was falling for me, and we both should delete our profiles. After I deleted my profile, he persuaded me to invest in Cryptocurrency. I said no politely because I had no interest in finance, but then he convinced me more, saying he would teach me for free; I said no, asking him why I had to learn. He said he needed a woman to stand by his side because he was investing in cryptocurrency. I got suspicious and asked him his real intention of wanting me to use Cryptocurrency. He blocked my message.

I connected with match.com custom service. Match said, "I can compensate you for your remaining days on your previous account after you open a new account." I opened a new account and contacted match.com custom service every two or three days, but they never replied to my messages regarding compensation for my new account and never followed through on their promises. Through my new account, match.com keeps sending me messages like "25% off deal," "50% off deal," or various men's photos, trying to get money from me by subscribing again. So disappointed.

Very few appealing dating options that live within 50 miles of Los Angeles where I reside, to date. They send you terrible matches, after you pay their whopping $75 per month fee if you sign up for one month, and then after they hook you for that and you see matches are terrible, they send you 1-3 more attractive options but when you click them you are not allowed to 'like' or write them unless you pay MORE money to Match. It's a JOKE. And you do not even know if the profiles are fake or real, or something they created to bait you to fork over more $$$. And I am a woman.

Also, they now have a feature where you pay them even MORE $$$$ on top of your membership to prevent people from "ghosting you in chats". Oh, REALLY?? And how do you prevent people from doing what they want to do?? It's just their way to only sending you profiles that are not old and abandoned or inactive, which they should be doing for FREE as part of your existing $75 per month membership anyway. That's ALL it is. Match also owns several other dating websites and apps and has the market monopoly on online dating which leads to lack of market competition, i.e., they control pricing, features and are mainly responsible for the demise of online dating.

The worst dating app ever, they will take your money, then they block you, then you can’t contact them because they don’t even have a customer service phone number. Then you send them thousands of emails to clear up the situation, and if you are lucky they might answer you just telling you that they terminated your account. They will never explain why and what did you do wrong, and they don’t care that you paid already them. So you lose your money, they block your account and nothing, like literally nothing you can do about it.

Match manipulated and extorts you into giving them your personal cell phone number, almost right after you create an account and put photos up. The goal for them is that you’re now “invested” and don’t want your account to remain on there if you can’t delete or use it yourself, so they extort you into giving them your personal cell phone number to “verify” that you’re real, because they just want to make sure you’re safe… cute, yet they do nothing about all the scammers that they themselves invest in, in order to keep you online and away from real people. They don’t ask you for your phone number when you sign up, but they ask you right afterwards, because they are MANIPULATIVE SCAMMERS.

They will then block you out of your account for months asking you frivolous “security questions” from a huge list, that have nothing to do with how you created your account and what information you put on it, the goal is to pretend like they’re giving you options to unlock your account, but it winds up being yet another extortionary method for them to now ask you more about your personal information in order to unblock your account, information you wouldn’t normally give upon signing up for an account.

The game then begins with customer service tag, whereby they take months to give you back access to your account, meanwhile using your likeness, profile and photos to advertise to other users as if you were in control of that account, and as if you were actively using it. Matchgroupllc is a manipulative, dishonest monopoly and their owners need to be in prison for life for degrading society. They’re also extremely woke, and constantly promoting woke propaganda all over the place by putting trainnies as the top locals? Right, so I’m a man looking for a woman and how convenient that trainees are always online and at the top of the locals list..

I gave Match screen shots of our texts and emails that supported my claim. The subscriber even changed his location from WA to VA after I reported him. PLEASE be very careful! This company has no actual customer service and uses non English speaking foreign email service with form letters. I tried to get help with changing a setting that "customer service" facts on the website said could be changed, but then those settings did not exist. So I emailed and eventually received a form letter asking me for my birthdate, address, date that I signed up, last payment that was made and an entire list of stupid questions and then never answered my question. Then they locked my account. When I contacted them again, they asked all of the questions again and said they needed me to know the date that signed up. Since I'm not 10 and don't keep a diary of Dear diary, today I signed up, I was unable to answer that. My email and phone number being verified is not enough.

Meanwhile someone else has been in my account and did not need my ID or password to get in. I have asked to have my account deleted and they have refused. Most of the people on the site are fake people scams using other people's photos so no loss, but someone is now scamming using my account and they are fine with that because they cannot actually phone anyone from India to verify anything.

However, suddenly, a charge of $140.94 was taken from my debit card - after I had already paid half of the amount due. I contacted them and they "graciously" agreed to refund me for one payment. However, they used some bogus excuse that they had given me a refund before (??? when??) and therefore, they couldn't refund me the remaining amount they stole from me. Needless to say, I'm pretty upset. I, like most people, have to carefully budget and having them take $140.94 out of my bank account with no warning or reason why.... Not good business dealings!! A terrible dating site. It is full of profiles of people who have cancelled their subscription and are no longer active on the site, yet they continue to be displayed as though they are active. I know this for a fact because, despite being on the app for a little over a month, I was trying to delete some old, non-responsive “Likes” of mine. I’m a really decent catch, so I couldn’t believe that out of 100 profiles that I had “liked”, only three had “liked” me back. At first, I could delete the old “likes” easily by dragging left on the profile in the list and selecting the offered “delete” option, however, after several profile “deletes”, the functionality suddenly disappeared. Not being one to give up easily, I reverted to “blocking” my old “likes”.

Normally, when you select “block” for a profile, you then have to select the option “confirm” to execute the block. When I blocked most of the old “likes”, instead of getting the option to “confirm”, the message “Profile Unavailable” popped up. (See picture #1) So I’ve been busy reading and “liking” profiles that shouldn’t even be there. To further prove this point, at the bottom of the “Profile Unavailable” page, there are still the options to Message, Super Like, or Like. I selected “Like” on the profile that was “Unavailable” and was then given the option to message the person. Even though they aren’t even there! (See picture #2) What a scam, and a complete waste of time and money.

Add to this that I have read numerous reviews that Match makes it very difficult to delete your account. Yes, you can deactivate it easily, but try deleting it. So, what Match.com is doing is keeping deactivated accounts “active” on their site so they can deceitfully inflate their number of users when in actuality, there are not many fish in their sea.

Almost all the profiles I feel they’re fake & the ones maybe not fake all the ladies pretty much wants to go to the beach, travel, go out, bars, restaurants, mountains… etc lol. Not a single woman on that website looking for a good hard-working man & also the ladies on that website, it’s totally ok with them to have kids as a single mom but it’s not okay for men to have kids as a single dad lol, what a waste of time & moo for a VERY busy person like me!!!! I was receiving emails to my promotions inbox from ‘matches’ during the 2 years I had no active account! This meant my profile was still up. This makes me very suspicious about the matches I see. Is the same true for them. I paid $29/week only to view profiles of others who are not active. This is some serious nonsense!

What I object to is that the basic paid subscription does not offer any useful features versus an unpaid subscription. Besides selecting gender, age range and search radius, you get nothing else. This renders the app pretty useless since one wastes their time sorting through profiles that are of no interest to the user. Instead, Match wants you to sign up for the premier subscription to get access to helpful search criteria like use interests, education, preferences as far as smoking, drinking, etc. Just a money grab. Better off to use the unpaid subscription or better yet, choose a different dating app.

They have made the site more difficult to navigate through. It is harder to see who has messaged you. It used to be that you had a mailbox and if someone sent you a message it was just like an email going into your email mailbox. You could read it and respond. Now it is different, and it no longer works that way. The whole site is more confusing. It is not that you can't figure it out, but it is not as user friendly, and not as easy as it used to be. Now match.com has changed their policy on reviewing other people's profiles as a non paid member. Now you can only see 6 profiles, and the rest are not viewable if you do not have a paid subscription.

What is match.com hiding? Are they hiding the fact that they do not believe that they have enough "real" profiles on their site to convince someone to pay for a subscription? Many many years ago, companies that made and packaged food products, switched from packaging their products in packages that completely concealed their food items (like a box with no clear sides to it), to packaging that revealed the actual product. You could actually see the food, and see that it looked good. If match thinks I would pay for a subscription without showing me their full list of profiles, they have gone mad. And they probably have to be honest. Match.com's executives are probably border line insane to insane.

Unlike other sites, Match does not allow turning off of subscription ‘auto-renew’. But not Match! Once you cancel your subscription, you lose access to your paid account (and are pushed down to the free version). While I’m sure Match’s fine print states this, but most purchasers assume that the largest company in online dating follows the industry standard of cancelling auto-renewal.

It makes sense for magazines and streaming video services to give the option of auto-renewal. But the PURPOSE of online dating is to find a partner so that the dating service will NO LONGER BE NEEDED. I received no response from Match when I asked them about this via their website. Updated on 04/06/2025: April 5, 2025 -- CIBC Master Card today refunded me all the money Match scammed me on by making me buy gift certificates. It took over a year, but I got my money back. Thank you Master Card -- and to everyone out there, do NOT subscribe to this cheating company.

Original Review: Match is the most unscrupulous company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. What I went through yesterday was a total nightmare. I had purchased a 3-month subscription and set myself a reminder to cancel a few days before it expired. When I tried to log onto the site, my password did not work so I attempted to change it by entering my email address. I received no email notification to make the change. So instead I called the 800 number for customer support and asked the representative to cancel my account.

He said I had not read “the fine print” and my subscription would renew 4 more times automatically and that he did not have the authority to cancel on my behalf. But in a very smooth and educated voice (which gave me the confidence to trust him), he said there was a work-around. He instructed me to use the App Store to purchase four $100 Apple gift cards from iTunes. Each of these gift cards had long complex codes which I had to read back to him. He assured me they were all “dummy” purchases and my credit card would not be charged. When Apple sent me 4 paid receipts, I was highly suspicious, but I was desperate to resolve the problem so that Match would not go on charging me.

The Match representative then gave me the puzzling news that only 1 of the 4 transactions had worked. He made me go through the same process 2 more times. At this point I had purchased SIX $100 gift cards. The third time it didn’t work and he said we had been locked out. But no problem, he assured me, all I had to do was go to the nearest supermarket to purchase an actual $300 Apple gift card. He said if I did it within the next hour, he would still be on duty and to just call him back with the code. Feeling sick to my stomach, I went to Save-On Foods and asked for advice before buying the card. The Manager told me that under no circumstances should I purchase a gift card for this reason.

Feeling like an idiot, but now determined to take the matter into my own hands, I called the Fraud Department of CIBC Master Card and told them the story. They agreed to stop payment on the 6 transactions. But they said they could not block Match from automatically charging my credit card and the only solution was to cancel my credit card and issue a new one. This is going to involve hours and hours of work trying to figure out who all my creditors are as each one will need to be notified of my new credit card details, but I have no choice. So there you are…. DO NOT sign up with this dreadful company. You have been warned.

I've tried other dating sites before COVID, and I was always connected with some low life people also very close to me by location. I never liked the fact that people know how far I am, and also wanted to feel safe. I've read the reviews about Match, as sort of more reliable, and last year, when I couldn't go out because I was working all the time, and I don't see people out of work since the first lock down, so I just wanted to know who is there. I put my best recent photos, and wrote a lot about myself, and what I don't like. Also, I marked in my settings that I want to see who is in a radius of 15 miles.

So, as soon as I posted photos my profile was viewed and liked so much, there was a list of over 100 people daily that liked my profile and maybe 2 people bothered to write any intros, usually what a pretty lady and they want to buy me a dinner.... None of them had anything to do with the things I said in my profile, so there's one thing that people don't want to spend time reading my info, they would get mad and offensive if I didn't respond their messages, and obviously they saw I was logged in couple of times, and not responding them. I had many gross and hateful messages. I felt like people were yelling at me lol, good one, better online than in real life!!!

I kept getting notified that I have one more boost left. BUT I NEVER BOOSTED my profile in the first place!!! At any time, they did it for me!!! Most of the time I was just scrolling, wondering how so many people saw me, and most of them just commented on my looks. Every time I would pause my profile or want to delete it the site would bomb me with more people who like me and so on, I had dozens updates on my gmail... My profile was dragged all over the USA, and I'm not pretentious, but for God's sake, there were many people who needed mental health help. A better diet. And to be less creepy.

I feel violated that literally thousands of people all over the country got to see my profile and I didn't want that. Some of them found me on Facebook and other scary stuff so I just wanted to delete the profile. They wont let you do it so easy!! I thought I deleted it one day, then I was boosted... I had to go back and finish the form again to make sure I deleted my profile. It just felt weird, and I had way too much attention, over 1000 people in the first 4 weeks, and it kept going up, just further of my location, and yet none of the people matched me with the conversation or anything.

If I want to be invited for dinner and a hookup, I would just dress up as a ** and go out to some dive bar. I always had a bad feeling when I would go check on it, my life is so much better once I deleted it for ever!!!! It just doesn't work and it uses our pics to get more attention and keep people paying for the subscription. For me it was that last straw to tell me my life is actually awesome. I may meet someone at the gas station or grocery shopping and I would know if I like that person. All this online matching is a waste of time and money!!!! Also I always hated matchmakers, in the family and elsewhere.

We should all do less screen time and more actual time out to see people in real life!!! AND stop giving our money to someone who will BOOST and prostitute your profile beyond your wishes.

It wants you to Buy likes.... This place is the biggest waste of money you will ever spend, would be better off putting it down a garbage disposal.

As I'm looking now I see 2 "Mike 66 Spring Valley", 2 "Dan 66 Ramsy, NJ", 3 "Mark 66 Florida, NY"... They don't even bother to change the name, it's the exact same person, so figure about 1/3 of what they tell you are actually distinct results. Then you have to subtract the ones that haven't been active for a year or more, because about another half haven't even logged onto the site lately. Look for a little green circle next to the name. If you don't see it they're not active and you won't get a response if you try to contact them. What's left isn't worth clicking on!

    1. The website doesn't function properly.

    2. I did not download their app. Thankfully. I don't recommend doing so, based upon what I have read here.

    3. When you want to terminate the site tells you to change your auto-renew. But there is no way to change your auto renew. There is no capability to do so on their site. Big red flag right there.

    4. Once you cancel, you may NEVER hear from them again. Which they do on purpose, they cut you off, it's strange.

    5. When you cancel, their website says you will receive a cancellation confirmation email. Well, that email, that cancellation email never comes.

    6. If you write their Contact Us, you may never get a response. Good luck finding their email. Well, the don't offer an email. Only an auto-fill form.

    7. Even if you choose deal-breaker in your settings, you will still receive folks not in your criteria. So the deal breaker function in the site doesn't work.

    8. Too many people wearing sunglasses. That's weird.

    9. Saw one posting where someone posted a lion mounting another lion.

    10. The site won't let you delete your photos.

    11. The site won't let you delete the comments in your photos.

    12. If you fill in the auto-generated form, it says you will get a response in 48 hours. That is untrue, you won't.

    13. If you choose the option 'Forgot Password' the site lets you choose that. It asks for you to enter your email and it will send you a password reset link. You will never get the password reset link email.

    14. The site states you can log back into your account anytime after cancelling. But no, you can't. The site never lets you back on. No matter how many times you try. If you try it keeps sending a four digit authentication password to your phone. But then you enter that four digit password and their site provides a message of 'your 4 digit password has expired' even though you enter it moments after receiving it.

    15. I never paid for the 'boost' option. Didn't trust the site to do so.

    16. When you update your summary, you don't see the changes. You may need to update the summary over and over, click save over and over to see the changes.

I can't speak for the profiles. No one ever knows if anyone is real, but that is not a Match.com problem in my opinion. How can they really know themselves who is real or not? As for window shoppers, etc.? Who knows, I don't know about all that, it's the website functionality that I have concerns about. Unacceptable for this website and company to have a website functioning so poorly.

For that reason, the unprofessional website, the deceptive functionality, I give one star. It's 2023 and their is no excuse for this. I mean, for a website to instruct you to cancel your auto-renew prior to having the option to terminate but give no webpage to even find auto-renew is ludicrous. They literally have you looking for a webpage that doesn't even exist. Essentially you cancel it all but are left thinking will it auto-renew? Probably yes, because there is no way to stop it. No webpage on their site that lets you change it. There is one page with a box and a check mark that you think is auto-renew but you can't toggle it to check or uncheck. All these technical issues above are why I am rating it. I can't speak for finding a partner or not. It's the website that is poor functionality. I would have to assume the company knows about all these website glitches. It is 2023, how could they not.

I'm sure it's the same for you guys that are straight. I'm sure a straight guy doesn't enjoy sexy photos from a dude trying to match up with him! After being on Match a few months, I noticed that my at least 75 percent of my recommended matches were repeats. Some of them were profiles where the member had updated the profile saying they were no longer paying for a subscription, so don’t bother clicking. Match does not clear out old profiles when you quit the site. They use old profiles to pad out the searches.

I encountered at least one clearly fake profile — a guy claimed to be a high-level professional, yet he did not know how to spell, in his texts — and a guy who had two profiles posing as different people. Two men were adamant about meeting in person without doing a video call first, even though I said blind dates made me uncomfortable. One man asked me increasingly prying questions about where I live. I reported him.

Men list themselves as years younger than they are, and then claim inside the profile that Match won’t allow them to change their listed age, and they are really five or even ten years older than listed. They do that to be included in the searches by younger women. Match is constantly trying to upsell on services. They flashed a profile for a “unicorn” man who was too perfect…and the only option for clicking on him was buying “superlikes.” I’m sure he does not exist.

There are bad men on dating sites. There are fake profiles. There are needy and strange men. And there are…here and there… good men. But I don’t think this is the place to find those good men. I think Match is a scam. I think it’s even dangerous, at times.

In my corporate experience, escalation of a customer-facing production issue means no one goes home until the problem is resolved, usually in less than 24-hours. For Match.com it apparently means "just keep stalling and placating the user." Either their tech team is incapable of diagnosing and resolving the issue, or they are so overwhelmed with other bugs in the software that this one is at the bottom of a long list of software issues. You have many other online dating vendors from which to choose, I suggest trying one of them.

Sadly, I signed up here a couple days ago based on previous positive experiences from years back, and this site has taken a definite nosedive since then. I see other users have made claims of having their accounts terminated with no warning, no reasoning beyond just a vague/generic "this is in the best interests of our community", and no ability to make a dispute or contest the decision.

I can confirm that behavior is still ongoing as of now. All I managed to do was partially complete a profile, then when I was in the middle of writing my "about me" section, things started churning slowly so I logged out. I attempted to log back in, and, voila, account "suspended". Unlike some others, I was able to get my money refunded within 48 hours of this stupidity, but probably by mentioning that I am just going to cancel my credit card if they attempt to charge it for services not rendered.

Ironically, I came over to Match because ANOTHER match.com holding (eHarmony) treated me similarly. They were unable to send me an SMS verification for my account and so also provided a worthless experience. I'd advise all lonely-hearted people to just find something else to fill your time rather than gambling on Match's properties (Plenty of Fish is another amazing landfill of scams and desperation, OKCupid may be the most reliable but also the most politically strident if you are a free thinker). It's clear they are making money hand over fist (for now) and don't need to put any effort whatsoever into providing a rewarding customer experience. I don't care if I walk the earth alone for the remainder of my days, I will never patronize one of these sites ever again.

As a free member, you are unable to respond or see who writes back because it’s blurred. So I signed up for a six month membership. It was good at first 2/3 weeks and then it was the same people over and over again no matter how you searched. I have a strong feeling that a lot of the profiles are not real. It is very heavily algorithmed, and they nickel and dime you for every single thing. To be honest, I am an attractive person who has normal social skills and consider myself an average profile. Further, they use Apple/iTunes as ONLY payment method. They have charged me fraudulently three times now $140.06 for each occasion (after I cancelled membership). The amount of 140.06 is for six month membership and I am in month three.

At first, I didn’t know what it was and thought somebody had gotten into my bank card account. So I contacted my bank and they provided a new card. And you know how much of a pain in the ** this is! It just happened again. So they’re using your Apple ID/iTunes to do this. This time I went through PayPal and traced it. I can see that the charge of $140.06 was through PayPal and from applebill.com not MATCH. It took some time to track it and figure out what I was being charge for and then learned that it was match.com. At this point, I am going to contact my bank and block them from payment. Remove Match.com from Apple/iTunes and notify all federal and state governments that this is what they’re doing. In the end, it’s a lot of wasted time and energy not to mention money. JS

Keep in mind, I live in Orange County, CA. So when I do a 30 mile search criteria that is covering around 5 million people. I did the free trial first to see if I liked the format and search options which I did, at first. Then I got about 30 or so matches that of course, I could not see or talk with, without being a subscriber. So, I decided to go for it. I went for the 6 month option and fully committed to giving it go. That was 4 installments that are paid within the first 3 months for a total of around $100.00. Of course all the matches before I paid were revealed and not one was someone I'd be interested in dating. No biggie, let's start looking and chatting with more desirable women. BUT...you can only match and talk with women who are subscribers. If you want non-subscribers to be able to view and respond to your chat, then you will have to upgrade and pay an additional $100.00 or more for this feature.

Now what Match.com won't tell you and admit to. Is that 90%-95% of the female profiles are....non-subscribers. So as a man, if you do not upgrade, your pool of choices is extremely diminished. In the "Discovery" section it will show you if they're subscribers or not. You will skip through almost all of them every day because there's barely any subscribers and the rest you can't chat with anyways. Then you will use the search section and filters.

This is where you will waste a ton of time. It will pull up matches based on your filter but you will have to click on each one, view their profile page to find out that they are not subscribers and you can't chat with them. Hit the back button and it will bring you back to the top of the page so you can click on another non-subscriber and repeat and rinse. Long story short....it's twice as much as advertised and you either spend the money for the upgrades or don't sign up at all. The premium package is a scam and will just leave you frustrated.

Bottom line: My week old Match account was terminated with no explanation by match and no refund ($100 lost)! I can only assume a specific contact (I had only made 2 contacts at this point) caused my termination as it had progressed to a phone call that was both strange and uncomfortable. On the call she suggested that my cell number was registered to someone other than me! At the end of the call I said I wasn't sure if we should continue communications as the rest of the call was civil but I just didn't feel comfortable with her personality in general. She did repeat her skepticism re: my call number.

Prior to the call I had provided her with my full name, cell number, email address, and suggested she Google me to see that I'm a real person. She would have found me on YouTube (I'm a singer and have many videos), SoundCloud (singing audio files), Facebook, and Linkin. She called me from a hidden phone number and I'm still not sure if the name she used was real or if she was actually also in Naperville!

It turns out that a reverse lookup of my cell number does show another name. I've had this number for several decades and I have no idea why the sites have the wrong data. I actually since spent hours trying to get a bunch of the main sites to remove my number from their data but there are too many of them. So, first the woman who apparently reported me (an assumption based on pretty good data) must have said something about me that caused the termination. I can't believe it was just the phone number but who knows.

Secondly, as a man, apparently I have NO RIGHTS regarding proving myself. It's her word (apparently) against mine. In fact match didn't want to hear anything from me. I explained all this in detail but their only response was that they will not discuss anything with me and I should read their terms of agreement which apparently point out that indeed I have no rights on their site. Sorry this is long. It's been a few weeks now and as much as I try it pops back up in my head how unfair this was and what a miserable person she apparently is.

Match is like a young person just running up to each and every option not knowing which way to turn. Is it this one? Is it this one? Turning around one after another, non-stop, till you finally say okay that's enough. It's too late though, they have your money and you can feel that greed and lack of concern regarding the service they provide. It's overwhelming and such a waste of time deleting profile after profile from the likes page, from the message page, and they keep showing back up and there they are again! It definitely feels more like a hook up page than a genuine site for individuals looking a life partner. The quality put into their program is equal to the quality of their customer service. So now you know, Match will be like that person you thought was going to be the one, but turned out to be the fraud. Take your chances with E HARMONY, they know how to match up potential couples. I signed up for this service over two years ago, used it for maybe six months and discontinued it. I was *certain* I went in and turned off auto renew and cancelled prior to stopping use, and thought nothing more of it because I had done so. Fast forward TWO years when I receive a fraud alert on my credit card (thank goodness) to discover they had charged me last year as well as attempted this year. Given, I should have been more vigilant, but when I was sure I cancelled it didn't occur to me they would do this. I phoned today and they've refused to refund the older charge, and state they've only refunded the latest one because my credit card company got involved. I tried to appeal to simple decency...Stuff happens, but asked them to check my account and they could easily see I've not used any portion of their service since early 2020. They said yes, they could see that, but no, they would not give me a refund.

HORRIBLE customer service. And really in hindsight, not that great of an experience of their services either. I discontinued use back then because I had to report another user for unethical representation and they basically said they couldn't do anything about it. FYI, I am a happy person...Generally very compassionate and understanding. I've written several positive reviews for other companies online. I'm in a happy relationship, life is good. I'm just done with big companies thinking they can just not treat people like human beings because of their power. It's not that they *can't* refund me, they just hide behind a policy and some technology to doing what is right.

Over 50 F here. I just signed up for match a couple of weeks ago after being off for years. I figured because they claim to have a huge data base of single men my age I'd have ample selections. Imagine my surprise to see a lot of the same mostly unattractive guys from when I was on before. The same old tired photos, the same lazy / partially filled out profiles, the same creepy ones, the same cheap ones who won't pay for a subscription, same crop that I have nothing in common with, the same ones who do not want anything more than a good time. It's like some sort of time warp. Lol. How do I get to see some new faces without lying about who I am or what I'm looking for?

And what's up with all the campers out there? Do I need to go visit the woods instead of the dating sites? Literally every man on Match lives for camping and hiking. The woods must be jam packed full of single men. Also, this site was advertised as a place to find a LTR and maybe even marriage. If that's your end goal try another site. Or, better yet, just stay single. It's a lot less frustrating.

Let's be honest, dating apps and the internet have made the search for 'the one' all the more challenging. Who knows who is really on the other end. My experience ranks Match.com towards the bottom of the list. The men are low quality. Either struggling with mental illness, addiction, low intelligence, married or god-forbid "separated" but still living with an ex. I think generally this site is geared towards a middle age hook up culture or men looking for phone numbers in order to get attention, validation at the push of a button and not suited for stable professionals looking for a quality partner and serious long term relationship. As an aside, don't give out your phone number to someone you have never met! Wait at least until the 2nd or 3rd date and know you want to continue communication.

Years ago I was on Match and found it useful to connect with women with whom I had things in common, a few of whom I met and liked, and one of whom I had a nice relationship with. But that was then. Today's Match is horrible and borderline useless. Here's what I don't like: Match crops your pictures, often cutting off half of your head, and there's no way to correct that. Trying to figure out how to create a profile essay is nearly impossible although it can be done if you try hard enough through trial and error.

Unlike the Match of days gone by, you can't write an essay about the kind of woman you'd like to meet. The current Match has a list of things you like/don't like, believe/don't believe, but it doesn't allow you to answer; it gives you a list of pre-selected responses that don't necessarily reflect your views. It's all become very superficial. Over time Match has become a big corporation, and like all big corporations, it cares nothing about you. It just wants your money. I'm sorry I was stupid enough to give it ninety days of my money. Don't give Match yours.

I am a premium subscriber (sub) of Match.com (M.com) till November. I agree with many reviewers as this is a scam site “run by morons and supervised by monkeys”. One 3 months sub is enough and make sure to opt out of “auto-renew” before it expires. Here’s observations and cautious notes!

1_ Archive all emails that have your hopeful match, send “Likes”, “Hello Who” to keep them in your portal as you will not see them again after 5 weeks when M.com starts automates messages, send ‘liked” of 97% non-sub who has none of your preferences. Why pay extra to boost sub when no “Likes” to send but zombies.

2_ M.com “saved search” and HELP’s pages are useless as I asked them 3x to reload profile of “Chris” who could be a former colleague of years ago. A simple task but M.com refused! Perhaps, M.com may send “boost your sub” or “Chris likes you” when my sub is about to expire_ “Treat or Trick”?

3_ It’s RED flag when scammers who “likes” you without dated pictures; use “alias” name, short profile but match yours: “retired/financially secure”, “give me your p#”, then disappears for days till “. busy at work”, “. just sold house”, “.money to travel” _ Do your own “Likes” since M.com does nothing for you!

4_ Thus far, I rejected 5, being rejected 6. Also had 5 scammers with 3 asked for phone # on 1st contact. NEVER give your # till face to face meeting. One blocked my file when I refused to give my #. Use M.com “start message” instead. Scammers know “your phone connects to what you own”. But, I indeed had 1 Match’s dinner date but later found we had no chemistry due to her works and other interest!

5_ I paid $90/6m premium sub but also made 20x of the cost by trading Match group (MTCH). How? MTCH owes M.com. Since May, I traded MTCH 4x then $59 to $70/s when it missed earning in August. If MTCH misses earning again, M.com spin-off?, price is $38/s...

I will not renew and send receipt of cancelation to M.com. Remove all pictures, info and block my profile. Good luck.

Updated on 09/21/2022: I cannot access matches from my desktop computer - a pop-up keeps blocking me. This has been ongoing for weeks - even after a complaint to the BBB and two poor reviews from me at this site. This makes review number three. Match service rep specifically told me in an email that it was "a vendors" pop-up that was blocking my access to my messages. After filing a complaint with the BBB, they now claim that it is not a vendor that is causing the pop-up, but their own servers. This cannot be true, as the pop-up was removed (albeit, only temporarily) by THEM, allowing me access to my matches - I thanked them by email and still have that email to prove what I am saying. The pop-up is back, and they claim (to the BBB) that they have no way of taking it off their servers. But they did!! It was taken off BY THEM for about a week before the pop-up came back.

So, there is conflict in their statements, and in my opinion they are being disingenuous. And, I am a PAYING subscriber! Imagine how poorly someone who is not paying, would be treated. I can't wait till my subscription ends in mid-October - I will be off and will not be back. Already, I am getting offers from them to renew my membership at a discounted rate!! Are they kidding??? More to the point, are they for real??? What planet are they living on? I hate them and would not renew for a penny. Not one more cent will they EVER get from me.

Updated on 09/07/2022: Complained to customer service that I was a paid subscriber, but could not access my matches and messages, because one of their advertisers was blocking me from doing so- by creating a pop-up blocker that tried to force me join something called "vibe chat". There was no workaround- no way to close that pop-up, cancel it or stop it- you were forced to continue onto the vibe chat advertisement. It took weeks for customer service to get back to me- they finally did and stopped the blocking pop-up from forcing me to join vibe chat. But, that was only temporary- it lasted for a few days and now that blasted pop-up is back, and once again I cannot access my messages and matches, even though my subscription runs through October.

I am so mad at Match, I wish I could sue them in court for a refund of my subscription, as being forced to join an advertiser's vibe chat was not part of my terms and conditions when I paid Match money for my subscription, which is once again useless. Match puts it advertisers ahead of its subscribers and could not care less about subscribers. My experiences with Match have been awful and I warn anyone who is considering joining Match to read what I have written about how they have treated me, and think twice about joining. Had I known Match cared not about its subscribers, but only its advertisers, I never would have joined. I am so sorry that I did join Match, What a mistake.

Original Review: Paid for a membership yet cannot now access my messages, because they want me to do a "vibe chat". Cannot close out that popup for vibe chats, to access my messages. Also, tired of all the attempts to get me to upgrade my account with garbage features that I do not want, do not want to pay for and were not part of the terms and conditions that I agreed to when I signed up. Just contacted customer service about this and asked that they either give me access to my messages without these "vibe chats" or close my account and refund the balance left on my membership. I will not hold my breath. I am also tired of being spammed to get video chats and more junk from them- I had to put "Match" in my spam folder! Get that? I pay for a membership and have to put them in my spam folder because they won't leave me alone and just let me have the membership I signed up for, but constantly force me to decline all their premium junk. Sorry I ever joined.

If dealbreaker is checked off, Match will not send you any matches that do not exactly meet your criteria. For example, I checked off ** as a dealbreaker. So why would they email me matches of ** men? Their reasoning is that when the "System" runs out of ** matches, it automatically emails you other ethnic matches. Their term dealbreaker does not apply.

In addition, they don't vet their members. I had a couple unpleasant experiences with men that were married or had serious psychological issues. How do I know this? I just googled their phone number. But match does not do this, they do not do anything to make sure their members are legit. (They should add some kind of timer to remove “likes” from your profile.) Secondly, don’t let them pick profiles for you to connect with. They sent me two recommendations and both were not active on the service for weeks. If you find someone you like send them a message and hope there is mutual interest. As a reminder: if you prepaid for a six month subscription and decide two or three months in it's not for you, you won’t get any kind of refund. Your profile will still be active on the platform until the subscription ends. I’d suggest removing your pictures and details once you decide to leave since they will continue to use it even if you’re not active.
