) Deceptive marketing: In some parts of the site, they say "users are not differentiated" between tiers in search results, and in other parts of the site, they say that Platinum and Diamond members are presented higher up in the results.
) Monopoly - The parent company "Match Group" owns nearly all of the dating sites; They should be investigated for Monopolistic practices and potentially broken up to prevent one company from owning the entire online dating space.

I used Match.com a few years ago and it was really good! I suggest to my stepdaughter she use it. This site is awful. Now you used to be able to see pages of people that maybe you’re attracted to and then choose them. Can’t do that and you can’t message anybody. You pay $200 and you have no access to message anybody. You have to pay extra. Match is nothing but a scam now. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Several years ago, the FTC proved Match was posting fraudulent profiles to entice members to pay. My experience terrible matches, only 10 mutual matches. Most profiles are fake, those who view your profile never respond to messages. Views from mostly out of state fake profiles, Customer service is worthless, typically canned responses, never address the actual concern. Match doesn't allow you to delete your payment information. Match keeps your payment information so they can fraudulently bill for non-authorized services.

After about a year taking a break from Match, I've decided to join again as they are keep sending me all kind of specials, in this case 50% off almost every week, what a bad idea it was as I have match over a year ago for about a month and they had nothing but a really lousy matches which absolutely not much to me that match would sent me. Made a big mistake again. Paid for six months in advance, and everything was fine for two days until they asked me to verify my phone number. I did receive the verification code, entered everything, and then they locked my account without sending any information, because I cannot log into my account I cannot use chat and they do not have anymore customer service phone number active, I had to send email and you could see on the picture attached how many questions they asked me. It is easier to open platinum American Express than get back to your fully paid a year ago active fully verified account.
After I respond to all the questions a week later they unlocked my account without giving me a reason why they locked my account in the first place, of course I called American Express and explain what have happened and start a dispute process with American Express, guess what now I'm still asking a question what have happened to my account. Two weeks later I still have no explanation, as you could see in the screenshot for three days I'm still waiting to chat with a representative as via email it's takes 3 to 5 days for them to respond and when they respond they don't read your question. They just don't know how to read, don't want to read, how to made it to respond you get immediately but when the rabbit gets into your email they respond not to your question but just the standard nonsense email they will send you, shame on you match.com that once used to be a good company.

Very bad experience. I paid for the monthly subscription to get a feel for the site. At first I was getting a lot of messages and nearly 700 views within a week. All of a sudden one day when I went to log in I was unable to and it said my account was blocked. I never received an email from them stating that I was even blocked. I had to initiate contact with Match to let them know I cannot log in. There is no customer service number...I had to email back and forth and go through an appeal process to get my profile back. They refunded me my money and once they approved to have my profile back I had to pay again.
This time I did the silver plan because they didn't give me a promotion to get Platinum plan because I guess I'm not a new customer anymore. With the silver plan I wasn't getting messages every day like I use to...only managed to get 300 views and now most people were not paying customers so they never responded after you'd send a message. The quality of men on the site was blah...many of the men were not good looking...Match didn't allow me to alter my criteria for who I'd be interested in...I paid money...why can't I filter who I'm looking for?!?! I ended up cancelling my plan and deleting my profile 3 weeks before the plan ended...I took down my pics and erased my profile...they most likely recycle old profiles that weren't taken down in order to make it look like there are more people on the site. The site has a lot of weird people on it.

Of course there is not a live person to converse with, so you have to email whoever you’re emailing! The response time is ridiculous- No explanation of why my account was blocked - They unblocked it - me thinking there was a technical issue /. Ha!
I was able to log back in and finish my profile - mind you this account I created was one year ago - so it was under another phone number - This time I also paid for a membership. Lo and behold Another issue! I never logged out of my account and was all of a sudden logged out somehow - Logged back in and this time it requested my phone number. Unable to login because they can’t verify my phone number - Why was I able to login the first time after they unblocked me without a phone verification- use my account and now all of a sudden I need to verify my account using a phone number? Again another email and runarounds. No help. And still can’t get into my PAID MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT!

They have done to me, and are still doing to me, what they have been doing for so long to so many of you!
I now sincerely believe that Match DOES NOT HAVE a "Customer Care" department (Hah! more like a "Customer, We Don't Care" department)! What they have instead is a collection of bots which will automatically send out the same "reply" message to whatever message you send to them about the problems you are having. It took me a while, but I finally figured out that NO ONE, no actual human being, was ever reading any of my many messages trying to get them to help me! Shame on me for not realizing it sooner, but SHAME ON MATCH for having the absolute WORST customer service of any company, in any industry! I do not say that lightly. No matter what was said, if the other person feels hurt or offended, you will be kicked off no matter what. I had several rude, aggressive and harassing men contact me, but when I defended myself, they quickly reported me for offending them out of spite, to demonstrate control and I got kicked off. Match supports these people, without addressing the conversation. This site encourages you to walk on eggshells and not be able to fully communicate with other people out of fear you may upset them or accidentally offend them. I’m not a picky person but I also know what I’m looking for, in the past month or so I am getting responses from guys outside of the 20 mile radius, which is what I have in my profile. Not too many in my area are being sent to me.
The pictures are so old, I can see putting a picture of your younger self but not as a current photo. When my membership expires I will not renew either now or in the future. Let's say you were going to buy a new or used car. First, your expectation would be to find a dealership and to search their inventory for the year, make, model and price that you want. Secondly, once you searched their stock, you would then expect that you could go to the dealership to inspect the car, maybe take it for a test drive before deciding to purchase it. What if the dealer told you that you had to pay a fee first to see if they even had what you wanted and if they didn't have what you wanted, they would not refund your money.
Let say that you needed food and wanted to buy some produce and before you could even look at the produce, the manger of the grocery store told you that you could not look at the veggies to see if they were fresh and crisp. You first had to pay a fee to see if they indeed had what you wanted and once you discover they did not have the produce you were looking for you could not get your money back. Most folks would see this nonsense as a scam. Yet this is what Match Group who owns Match.com does! As a customer, you are not allowed to first see if they have a decent selection of people that meet your criteria in your geographical area prior to paying for a subscription. They want you to be stupid enough to first pay for a subscription and then they won't allow you to freely put in your deal-breakers or certain criteria, they then nickel and dime you on that.
After you pay for a subscription, you still have no idea if they can provide you what you want, but they already have your money. You then have to pay more money to narrow the selection down to a certain race, religion, body size, smoking or not, etc. And once you find that you have paid a lot of money only to discover that after adding all your criteria, there are only five women or men in your area that meet your criteria. But you are not physically attracted to any of them. This is why Match Group wants your money before they allow you to inventory who is available in your area. This is a complete scam!!

I have never been blocked from the many different accounts I have had with them, nor have they ever charged me for something I did not ask for. Maybe these people are the reason Match has so few genuine members on there? We know that there are huge organizations that hire people to create profiles to scam honest singles. Sad. I have used Match off and on, but it has never worked for me. My cousin met her husband from Match, so I was hopeful I might meet a quality man. I have met other men from other sites, but Match seems to be the one site where it's almost impossible to connect with someone real.
After reading the article about the FTC suing Match for using inactive member profiles as bait for potential members, or to keep members renewing their plans; I now knew why it was so hard to meet anyone. We now know that all of those profiles with the green dots are not reliable. It's really disappointing that there really are no honest dating sites out there. I believe Match.com is not concerned if you find love but rather that you do not find love, so you keep paying for their products and services. It becomes frustrating.

Absolute huge waste of time, money and effort. I'd give zero stars if I could. The Better Business Bureau will get an email from me stating what I'm going to say here. Signed up for a month, followed all the rules, posted pics, created profile, did everything you do. Did not receive a SINGLE response. Contacted many many people and absolutely nothing. Made sure all of my settings were right and that my profile was being shown. Would get "notices" saying so and so viewed my profile. I started to suspect something was up and contacted several members to ask if they did indeed view my profile. They did not!
Then when I tried deleting my account, I kept getting this stupid message saying "OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG. CHECK YOUR CONNECTION.". "Connection" was perfectly fine. Full wifi connection. So I tried contacting support. Number given connects to automated system that doesn't put you in touch with anyone and just refers you back to the site. I then tried chat. Another automated system that never puts you in contact with an actual person even when prompted to do so. I was FINALLY able to get my account deleted but they make it extremely difficult to do so. Be warned, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS SCAM!!

3. This is a best guess estimate but, I perceive over 50% of the members are not active and never receive your message.
4. On the search, when you like someone, The person you message never responds and you do not get a read receipt. This is not an opinion but, fact, likes are just a waste of time because no one sees them or responds to them. This has been my experience with Match.

I tried for Match.com for one month, then received messages from an Asian guy with very attractive pictures. He was very affectionate and caring, saying that he was on a business trip and couldn't meet right away, but he was falling for me, and we both should delete our profiles. After I deleted my profile, he persuaded me to invest in Cryptocurrency. I said no politely because I had no interest in finance, but then he convinced me more, saying he would teach me for free; I said no, asking him why I had to learn. He said he needed a woman to stand by his side because he was investing in cryptocurrency. I got suspicious and asked him his real intention of wanting me to use Cryptocurrency. He blocked my message.
I connected with match.com custom service. Match said, "I can compensate you for your remaining days on your previous account after you open a new account." I opened a new account and contacted match.com custom service every two or three days, but they never replied to my messages regarding compensation for my new account and never followed through on their promises. Through my new account, match.com keeps sending me messages like "25% off deal," "50% off deal," or various men's photos, trying to get money from me by subscribing again. So disappointed.

Very few appealing dating options that live within 50 miles of Los Angeles where I reside, to date. They send you terrible matches, after you pay their whopping $75 per month fee if you sign up for one month, and then after they hook you for that and you see matches are terrible, they send you 1-3 more attractive options but when you click them you are not allowed to 'like' or write them unless you pay MORE money to Match. It's a JOKE. And you do not even know if the profiles are fake or real, or something they created to bait you to fork over more $$$. And I am a woman.
Also, they now have a feature where you pay them even MORE $$$$ on top of your membership to prevent people from "ghosting you in chats". Oh, REALLY?? And how do you prevent people from doing what they want to do?? It's just their way to only sending you profiles that are not old and abandoned or inactive, which they should be doing for FREE as part of your existing $75 per month membership anyway. That's ALL it is. Match also owns several other dating websites and apps and has the market monopoly on online dating which leads to lack of market competition, i.e., they control pricing, features and are mainly responsible for the demise of online dating.

The worst dating app ever, they will take your money, then they block you, then you can’t contact them because they don’t even have a customer service phone number. Then you send them thousands of emails to clear up the situation, and if you are lucky they might answer you just telling you that they terminated your account. They will never explain why and what did you do wrong, and they don’t care that you paid already them. So you lose your money, they block your account and nothing, like literally nothing you can do about it.

Match manipulated and extorts you into giving them your personal cell phone number, almost right after you create an account and put photos up. The goal for them is that you’re now “invested” and don’t want your account to remain on there if you can’t delete or use it yourself, so they extort you into giving them your personal cell phone number to “verify” that you’re real, because they just want to make sure you’re safe… cute, yet they do nothing about all the scammers that they themselves invest in, in order to keep you online and away from real people. They don’t ask you for your phone number when you sign up, but they ask you right afterwards, because they are MANIPULATIVE SCAMMERS.
They will then block you out of your account for months asking you frivolous “security questions” from a huge list, that have nothing to do with how you created your account and what information you put on it, the goal is to pretend like they’re giving you options to unlock your account, but it winds up being yet another extortionary method for them to now ask you more about your personal information in order to unblock your account, information you wouldn’t normally give upon signing up for an account.
The game then begins with customer service tag, whereby they take months to give you back access to your account, meanwhile using your likeness, profile and photos to advertise to other users as if you were in control of that account, and as if you were actively using it. Matchgroupllc is a manipulative, dishonest monopoly and their owners need to be in prison for life for degrading society. They’re also extremely woke, and constantly promoting woke propaganda all over the place by putting trainnies as the top locals? Right, so I’m a man looking for a woman and how convenient that trainees are always online and at the top of the locals list..

So I emailed and eventually received a form letter asking me for my birthdate, address, date that I signed up, last payment that was made and an entire list of stupid questions and then never answered my question. Then they locked my account. When I contacted them again, they asked all of the questions again and said they needed me to know the date that signed up. Since I'm not 10 and don't keep a diary of Dear diary, today I signed up, I was unable to answer that. My email and phone number being verified is not enough.
Meanwhile someone else has been in my account and did not need my ID or password to get in. I have asked to have my account deleted and they have refused. A terrible dating site. It is full of profiles of people who have cancelled their subscription and are no longer active on the site, yet they continue to be displayed as though they are active. I know this for a fact because, despite being on the app for a little over a month, I was trying to delete some old, non-responsive “Likes” of mine. I’m a really decent catch, so I couldn’t believe that out of 100 profiles that I had “liked”, only three had “liked” me back. At first, I could delete the old “likes” easily by dragging left on the profile in the list and selecting the offered “delete” option, however, after several profile “deletes”, the functionality suddenly disappeared. Not being one to give up easily, I reverted to “blocking” my old “likes”.
Normally, when you select “block” for a profile, you then have to select the option “confirm” to execute the block. When I blocked most of the old “likes”, instead of getting the option to “confirm”, the message “Profile Unavailable” popped up. (See picture #1) So I’ve been busy reading and “liking” profiles that shouldn’t even be there. To further prove this point, at the bottom of the “Profile Unavailable” page, there are still the options to Message, Super Like, or Like. I selected “Like” on the profile that was “Unavailable” and was then given the option to message the person. Even though they aren’t even there! (See picture #2) What a scam, and a complete waste of time and money.
Add to this that I have read numerous reviews that Match makes it very difficult to delete your account. Yes, you can deactivate it easily, but try deleting it. So, what Match.com is doing is keeping deactivated accounts “active” on their site so they can deceitfully inflate their number of users when in actuality, there are not many fish in their sea.

What I object to is that the basic paid subscription does not offer any useful features versus an unpaid subscription. Besides selecting gender, age range and search radius, you get nothing else. This renders the app pretty useless since one wastes their time sorting through profiles that are of no interest to the user. Instead, Match wants you to sign up for the premier subscription to get access to helpful search criteria like use interests, education, preferences as far as smoking, drinking, etc. Just a money grab. Too many scammers here with fake profiles. Especially there was an expert matched me with an ugly old man! With all conflicting interests! And then they asked me if I wanted to pay extra for the expert service! Wasted my time and money here! Do not recommend this app to anyone.

From the day we spoke we never stopped speaking. We met in May 2024, he proposed Thanksgiving 2024, we were married December 2024. Yes!!! It all happened so fast but when you know, you know lol. We absolutely adore each other and we are a perfect match!!! Thanks for allowing my dreams to come true.❤️❤️❤️

I have paid my 6 month dues, and CANNOT see any of the so called likes, messages, and cannot send a message. My only feedback is that my profile is not visible even after ALL my payments. No Customer Service to speak of. It is NOT a TRUSTWORTHY site.

I don't like giving out my phone number. I get many spam calls, despite having only ever given my # to entities that say, 'We will not give out your # to anyone'. Hence, I don't trust anyone with it. Match lets you sign up and use it only once, at which point they lock you out until you enter a mobile #. It is a garbage way to act. They are scum.

I strongly advise against using Match.com. After registering and paying for a 6-month subscription, I encountered technical issues that prevented me from accessing my profile on my phone. Despite reaching out for assistance for four days, I have received no response or resolution from their customer service team. They have shown no willingness to address the problem or provide a refund. Avoid this site at all costs.

They don't care because they don't have customer service only an AI bot that won't help you.

Women beware Match puts it in writing that they guarantee the safety health and welfare of their customers when in fact they don't because I inform them of a particular person by the name of MARK ** OF BADIN NC that When asked if he was d d free he lied and until I found out from a blood test and a sore that he gave me Herpes. North Carolina has a law that states that you're supposed to inform somebody and I proved that I was clean after approaching him about it, he said, "Oh yeah, I got that from my previous girlfriend." I had all of this on tape. When confronting match recording this person having a profile they still have not removed him so match DOES NOT guarantee its customers health and safety after all. But women beware.

I joined Match.com in 2015 and I was very pleased. Fast forward 9 years and a much more expensive monthly fee and I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I wish I had read reviews first but didn't due to my previous experience. I was led to believe Premium was the best you could get but if you want the premium benefits you have to pay additional fees for a limited number of "benefits" the premium package was supposed to include! It's so frustrating. The ONLY reason why I'm still on is because I can't get reimbursed so I may as well use what I paid hundreds of dollars for!!! Do not waste your time or money.

Horrible customer service. I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks now because it won’t let me verify my phone number. I can’t get past that step and no one is answering. They’ve asked me to send loads of information yet. I keep getting passed around from person to person and, no response or help. If this is the type of customer service you get at the front end, no telling what horrible customer service awaits.

I have my credit card company involved with a dispute of the charge because this all happened within 7 days of being charged for subscription. Absolutely AWFUL way to run a business!

The gentleman told me they needed to use webkey. I didn't know what this was. My brother looked it up and it is Spyware. I didn't download. I have been attempting to contact Match thus far by email. No one will answer about refund or why I can't log in. I get a generic response for email. There is no customer service. I would recommend going to a site that has customer service. I am out of money and cannot log in to site. I don't know what to do.

I have tried Match.com multiple times, for a long period of time. I have spent hundreds of dollars using Match.com's paid subscription. The site has become worse and worse as years have gone by. They have made the site more difficult to navigate through. It is harder to see who has messaged you. It used to be that you had a mailbox and if someone sent you a message it was just like an email going into your email mailbox. You could read it and respond. Now it is different, and it no longer works that way. The whole site is more confusing. It is not that you can't figure it out, but it is not as user friendly, and not as easy as it used to be. Now match.com has changed their policy on reviewing other people's profiles as a non paid member. Now you can only see 6 profiles, and the rest are not viewable if you do not have a paid subscription.
What is match.com hiding? Are they hiding the fact that they do not believe that they have enough "real" profiles on their site to convince someone to pay for a subscription? Many many years ago, companies that made and packaged food products, switched from packaging their products in packages that completely concealed their food items (like a box with no clear sides to it), to packaging that revealed the actual product. You could actually see the food, and see that it looked good. If match thinks I would pay for a subscription without showing me their full list of profiles, they have gone mad. And they probably have to be honest. Match.com's executives are probably border line insane to insane.

I used to really enjoy this site but lately it's been such a pain. They randomly decided to have my password no longer work, I sent the password reset email to my email and it never shows up. And I really REALLY HATE that if you want to change your email you have to send an email to Match asking them to do it. The problem here is, I did this recently and it took 24 hrs to get a reply asking for certain ways to verify it's me. I did that, waited about 10 hours for a replying saying "Oh we couldn't confirm it's you". I replied back, waited a few hours they reply back with this "I have to esculate you're case to another department please wait 24-48 hours". Seriously? All this just to change my email? All other dating sites/apps let the user change their emails, why does Match make it so complicated? Not to mention for about 1 month their website has been offline, but the app works somehow?

I had purchased a premium membership on 2/19/2024 and had been enjoying my time on Match until 4/6/2024 when my account disappeared. I have contacted match over and over without any success. It is disturbing that they are now saying they are unable to verify my account? I am dumbfounded by this but it seems almost criminal to take $149.99 for 6 months of service and provide less than three and be unable to refund because they can't verify my account despite my providing screenshots, requested information, etc.. Also, all the phone numbers they have listed online are either recorded phone calls directing you to their website (214-576-9352 and 800-926-2824) or disconnected (214-576-9332). I cannot use their chat function because you have to be signed into your account and that is why I am trying to get help. It really is the best little scam complete with public marketing and advertising.

Unlike other sites, Match does not allow turning off of subscription ‘auto-renew’. Most services allow users of online dating, magazines, and iOS streaming services customers to cancel their subscriptions AND continue to use the product for the period of time purchased. But not Match! Once you cancel your subscription, you lose access to your paid account (and are pushed down to the free version). While I’m sure Match’s fine print states this, but most purchasers assume that the largest company in online dating follows the industry standard of cancelling auto-renewal.
It makes sense for magazines and streaming video services to give the option of auto-renewal. But the PURPOSE of online dating is to find a partner so that the dating service will NO LONGER BE NEEDED. I received no response from Match when I asked them about this via their website. I found Match’s customer support poor in other matters as well. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING MATCH.COM OR THEIR ASSOCIATED ONLINE DATING COMPANIES (Tender, OKCupid, MeetIC, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, and OurTime).

5 days ago I signed up at Match.com. Halfway through creating my profile, it asked to verify my number. It states it “can’t verify” my number and then proceeds to stop right there. I can’t get access into the site. I emailed for help. The responses have been sparse. I was briefly on then it kicked me out again for the can’t verify my number issue again. They keep saying they will escalate to another level. Which means another day of waiting. They took my money right away though. That worked. I am paying for a service that I have not received.
