Keep in mind, I live in Orange County, CA. So when I do a 30 mile search criteria that is covering around 5 million people. I did the free trial first to see if I liked the format and search options which I did, at first. Then I got about 30 or so matches that of course, I could not see or talk with, without being a subscriber. So, I decided to go for it. I went for the 6 month option and fully committed to giving it go. That was 4 installments that are paid within the first 3 months for a total of around $100.00. Of course all the matches before I paid were revealed and not one was someone I'd be interested in dating. No biggie, let's start looking and chatting with more desirable women. BUT...you can only match and talk with women who are subscribers. If you want non-subscribers to be able to view and respond to your chat, then you will have to upgrade and pay an additional $100.00 or more for this feature.
Now what Match.com won't tell you and admit to. Is that 90%-95% of the female profiles are....non-subscribers. So as a man, if you do not upgrade, your pool of choices is extremely diminished. In the "Discovery" section it will show you if they're subscribers or not. You will skip through almost all of them every day because there's barely any subscribers and the rest you can't chat with anyways. Then you will use the search section and filters.
This is where you will waste a ton of time. It will pull up matches based on your filter but you will have to click on each one, view their profile page to find out that they are not subscribers and you can't chat with them. Hit the back button and it will bring you back to the top of the page so you can click on another non-subscriber and repeat and rinse. Long story short....it's twice as much as advertised and you either spend the money for the upgrades or don't sign up at all. The premium package is a scam and will just leave you frustrated.

After being unable to modify my account settings due to the password being invalid, I contacted Match.com support. There is no phone number for this site, that's the first big problem. It took 48 hours for them to contact me and to tell me that they could not help me since my account is deleted and to create a brand new one. How convenient when they are about to charge me another 3 months.. I was about to cancel my membership. They also withhold stuff on the site so you can't talk to your best prospects. It's a big scam. Looks like I'm going to have to cancel my Visa otherwise, they will try to charge me for another 3 months. Beware, Match.com is a scam.

So I paid for a 6 month membership and it was terminated a week later. No refund or explanation as to why. Apparently they can do whatever they want which is take your money then block all access to you if they want. No explanation necessary according to them.

They get in with your payment and then tell you if you want to see better people you need to keep upgrading and paying to be seen more. It’s like they take your likes and withhold those people unless you keep paying more and more upgrades. I did the basic for a month and met a lot of great people. They always dangled another thing in front of you. I was gifted the month I had, otherwise, I would not have been on. But I cancelled it almost immediately for all the infomercial-type scams they had.

I bought a 6 month premium membership because of the better price (April 2023). Only been on there a month and it's been over a week without any match discoveries that Match is suppose to create (even just a regular search up to 60 miles with no matches!). I even broadened my search to a 60 mile radius! NO MATCHES! I should have bought just one month instead of wasting over $100 on this subscription. WORST SITE EVER!

Match never tells a subscriber how many actual live, fee paying subscribers in his/her geographic area are actually active on the site. So you scroll through a panoply of photos and profiles, fire off a message, hear nothing, and accept "rejection" and move on. But after this happens far too many times (and all the while you are receiving messages from inappropriate others, e.g. too short, too old, etc.) you come to realize that Match has been effing with you for your money. Keep your money, esp. since now you have to sign up for a three month minimum. You will probably exhaust your short list of Maybes within the first week. There ought to are a law against what they (and other meeting sites) do. No transparency, so three day free trial.

This site if rife with technical problems. Suddenly you are locked out of your account or your account has been deleted and there is no solution as the customer service does not exist. There is NO phone number, they have removed that form of contact. I have emailed repeatedly and nobody answers. This site has become a scam. They have your money and you have no service and no way to resolve this problem. If you cancel your subscription Match continues to charge you and you have no recourse and nobody to contact. This must be illegal and I think it's time for Match to be looked at by the attorney general.

I find that a good 80% or more members are non-subscribers or members that just set up a free account. I suppose they are just window shopping since they cannot send or respond to messages. Just about all dating sites do allow for non-paying members and I just don't get the purpose of it. Many don't allow the non-paying members to see other members since the photos are blurred out. Match does not do that. At least allow the paying members such as me to filter out the non-paying members from our searches. The technology is there to do that. It's cumbersome and time-consuming as it is. Would not recommend Match.com.

If you want to waste your time liking people and rarely getting a response, this is the site for you! I’m no Kim K., but I’m far from ugly. I can’t tell you how many scores of profiles I liked and messages I sent. I rarely received a reply, even though according to Match, tons of guys reviewed my profile. What a crock. But if you want to “boost” your profile, you can pay to do so. I think they tell you lies also. For example, I received a message that someone messaged me, it when I click on the link, it spins and spins and nothing comes up. And their customer service is pretty much non-existent. I’ve messaged them several times and never received a reply.

I never messaged anyone on match.com. EVER. On 2/5/23 I decided to do it, but when I logged in, I was told that my account is suspended. Okay, I figure, no problem. I call them and ask what is going on, they told me that they are very sorry and that they will take care of it. Boy, did they ever did. In few hours I received an email from Franchesca ** that states that my account is terminated and any other account I will create will be blocked. She said that "we believe it will be in the interests of our community". No explanation was given.
When I emailed her and asked for a reason. She replied "Due to our privacy policy we can't discuss details of your account with you". So, basically "We can kick you out for no reason and give you no reason as explanation". If they did it to me, they can and will do it to a paying client and you can kiss your money goodbye, because they won't refund them. STAY AWAY. I will be filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau.

Bottom line: My week old Match account was terminated with no explanation by match and no refund ($100 lost)! I can only assume a specific contact (I had only made 2 contacts at this point) caused my termination as it had progressed to a phone call that was both strange and uncomfortable. On the call she suggested that my cell number was registered to someone other than me! At the end of the call I said I wasn't sure if we should continue communications as the rest of the call was civil but I just didn't feel comfortable with her personality in general. She did repeat her skepticism re: my call number.
Prior to the call I had provided her with my full name, cell number, email address, and suggested she Google me to see that I'm a real person. She would have found me on YouTube (I'm a singer and have many videos), SoundCloud (singing audio files), Facebook, and Linkin. She called me from a hidden phone number and I'm still not sure if the name she used was real or if she was actually also in Naperville!
It turns out that a reverse lookup of my cell number does show another name. I've had this number for several decades and I have no idea why the sites have the wrong data. I actually since spent hours trying to get a bunch of the main sites to remove my number from their data but there are too many of them. So, first the woman who apparently reported me (an assumption based on pretty good data) must have said something about me that caused the termination. I can't believe it was just the phone number but who knows.
Secondly, as a man, apparently I have NO RIGHTS regarding proving myself. It's her word (apparently) against mine. In fact match didn't want to hear anything from me. I explained all this in detail but their only response was that they will not discuss anything with me and I should read their terms of agreement which apparently point out that indeed I have no rights on their site. Sorry this is long. It's been a few weeks now and as much as I try it pops back up in my head how unfair this was and what a miserable person she apparently is.

I had worked in the legal arena for years. I signed up on a Saturday and couldn't read my messages due to their IT issues. I contacted Match in writing and let them know that very day. Mind you, before I emailed them I used their "HELP' tab and did everything it suggested but nothing worked. I emailed them again and said I was going to cancel my subscription and didn't receive a reply. Three business days later I called and spoke to this guy who didn't listen to anything I said and said I would still be charged for the total subscription.
He said the subscription rate/monies are non-refundable but that is not stated anywhere when you are signing up. I told him I was being charged for a service that I could not use due to THEIR IT issues. He was extremely rude and said you signed up, what do you want me to do. Any other Internet site will refund your monies but not Match. I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer's Division of the State Attorney's Office. I have had a horrible experience with this company. In fact, even though my subscription should run until the 1st of February - which is about 2 weeks from now - I told them to delete my account right away - I cannot trust anything about their dealings! Their subscription service is a complete and total waste of money - no single value offered. After paying subscription, they constantly bombard you with fees for more products that should have come with your subscription. How are you constantly trying to sell another product when you haven't yet delivered on initial purchase?
I unsubscribed and thought I was free of them only for me to stumble on some of their reviews where they keep charging you after unsubscribing! I was shocked further but I double checked and saw I unsubscribed. I decided to call them to verify and to my utmost shock, they told me I wasn't unsubscribed on their own end! Like what! I asked them what would have happened if I hadn't called - to cut the long story short - they would have made me go through hell in a bid to get a refund. I don't know how these people sleep at night. I am disappointed that companies like this are allowed to run their business with little accountability. I can say with all certainty, these people have zero credibility and should not be in any business!

I set myself up on 2 dating sites, EHarmony and Match.com. The E Harmony site has matched up men that are similar in what I'm looking for as a husband. Match however, not so much. This is how I would put it.... E Harmony is like a grown up who knows what attributes and characteristics one is looking for in a spouse. Match is like a young person just running up to each and every option not knowing which way to turn. Is it this one? Is it this one? Turning around one after another, non-stop, till you finally say okay that's enough. It's too late though, they have your money and you can feel that greed and lack of concern regarding the service they provide. The questions Match asks versus the questions E Harmony asks is like a coloring book vs. a novel. There's no real MATCHING going on over there.
It's overwhelming and such a waste of time deleting profile after profile from the likes page, from the message page, and they keep showing back up and there they are again! It definitely feels more like a hook up page than a genuine site for individuals looking a life partner. The quality put into their program is equal to the quality of their customer service. So now you know, Match will be like that person you thought was going to be the one, but turned out to be the fraud. Take your chances with E HARMONY, they know how to match up potential couples. Of the 2, that's the site that's worth the value of my precious dollar.

This is my first experience with a dating site and WOULD NOT recommend them. I rarely write reviews but want to warn others. The same people appear over and over. I've even blocked several more than once, and they continue to appear a week or so later. The site will "like" someone even though I'm nowhere near the like tab which creates unwanted contact with that person.
They will suggest a "match" for me with someone that has almost no similarity with what's in my profile. BUT, I can upgrade from my already paid annual subscription to get more exposure... WHAT? I shouldn't have to do this when I've paid good money to begin with. There is no phone number for customer service, only email, and they have yet to return any of the three I've sent them. Since joining, I've talked to others that have used the site and they have the same opinion. This site is clearly for the monetary benefit of Match and NOT the benefit of the consumer who paid good money to use their service.

I signed up for this service over two years ago, used it for maybe six months and discontinued it. I was *certain* I went in and turned off auto renew and cancelled prior to stopping use, and thought nothing more of it because I had done so. Fast forward TWO years when I receive a fraud alert on my credit card (thank goodness) to discover they had charged me last year as well as attempted this year. Given, I should have been more vigilant, but when I was sure I cancelled it didn't occur to me they would do this. I phoned today and they've refused to refund the older charge, and state they've only refunded the latest one because my credit card company got involved. I tried to appeal to simple decency...Stuff happens, but asked them to check my account and they could easily see I've not used any portion of their service since early 2020. They said yes, they could see that, but no, they would not give me a refund.
HORRIBLE customer service. And really in hindsight, not that great of an experience of their services either. I discontinued use back then because I had to report another user for unethical representation and they basically said they couldn't do anything about it. FYI, I am a happy person...Generally very compassionate and understanding. I've written several positive reviews for other companies online. I'm in a happy relationship, life is good. I'm just done with big companies thinking they can just not treat people like human beings because of their power. It's not that they *can't* refund me, they just hide behind a policy and some technology to doing what is right.

Over 50 F here. I just signed up for match a couple of weeks ago after being off for years. I figured because they claim to have a huge data base of single men my age I'd have ample selections. Imagine my surprise to see a lot of the same mostly unattractive guys from when I was on before. The same old tired photos, the same lazy / partially filled out profiles, the same creepy ones, the same cheap ones who won't pay for a subscription, same crop that I have nothing in common with, the same ones who do not want anything more than a good time. It's like some sort of time warp. Lol. How do I get to see some new faces without lying about who I am or what I'm looking for?
And what's up with all the campers out there? Do I need to go visit the woods instead of the dating sites? Literally every man on Match lives for camping and hiking. The woods must be jam packed full of single men. Also, this site was advertised as a place to find a LTR and maybe even marriage. If that's your end goal try another site. Let's be honest, dating apps and the internet have made the search for 'the one' all the more challenging. Who knows who is really on the other end. My experience ranks Match.com towards the bottom of the list. The men are low quality. Either struggling with mental illness, addiction, low intelligence, married or god-forbid "separated" but still living with an ex. I think generally this site is geared towards a middle age hook up culture or men looking for phone numbers in order to get attention, validation at the push of a button and not suited for stable professionals looking for a quality partner and serious long term relationship. As an aside, don't give out your phone number to someone you have never met! Wait at least until the 2nd or 3rd date and know you want to continue communication.

Today's Match is horrible and borderline useless. Here's what I don't like: Match crops your pictures, often cutting off half of your head, and there's no way to correct that. Trying to figure out how to create a profile essay is nearly impossible although it can be done if you try hard enough through trial and error.
Unlike the Match of days gone by, you can't write an essay about the kind of woman you'd like to meet. The current Match has a list of things you like/don't like, believe/don't believe, but it doesn't allow you to answer; it gives you a list of pre-selected responses that don't necessarily reflect your views. It's all become very superficial. Over time Match has become a big corporation, and like all big corporations, it cares nothing about you. It just wants your money. I am a premium subscriber (sub) of Match.com (M.com) till November. I agree with many reviewers as this is a scam site “run by morons and supervised by monkeys”. One 3 months sub is enough and make sure to opt out of “auto-renew” before it expires. Here’s observations and cautious notes!
1_ Archive all emails that have your hopeful match, send “Likes”, “Hello Who” to keep them in your portal as you will not see them again after 5 weeks when M.com starts automates messages, send ‘liked” of 97% non-sub who has none of your preferences. Why pay extra to boost sub when no “Likes” to send but zombies.
2_ M.com “saved search” and HELP’s pages are useless as I asked them 3x to reload profile of “Chris” who could be a former colleague of years ago. A simple task but M.com refused! Perhaps, M.com may send “boost your sub” or “Chris likes you” when my sub is about to expire_ “Treat or Trick”?
3_ It’s RED flag when scammers who “likes” you without dated pictures; use “alias” name, short profile but match yours: “retired/financially secure”, “give me your p#”, then disappears for days till “. busy at work”, “. just sold house”, “.money to travel” _ Do your own “Likes” since M.com does nothing for you!
4_ Thus far, I rejected 5, being rejected 6. Also had 5 scammers with 3 asked for phone # on 1st contact. NEVER give your # till face to face meeting. One blocked my file when I refused to give my #. Use M.com “start message” instead. Scammers know “your phone connects to what you own”. But, I indeed had 1 Match’s dinner date but later found we had no chemistry due to her works and other interest!
5_ I paid $90/6m premium sub but also made 20x of the cost by trading Match group (MTCH). How? MTCH owes M.com. Since May, I traded MTCH 4x then $59 to $70/s when it missed earning in August. If MTCH misses earning again, M.com spin-off?, price is $38/s...
I will not renew and send receipt of cancelation to M.com. Remove all pictures, info and block my profile. Good luck.

Updated on 09/21/2022: I cannot access matches from my desktop computer - a pop-up keeps blocking me. This has been ongoing for weeks - even after a complaint to the BBB and two poor reviews from me at this site. This makes review number three. Match service rep specifically told me in an email that it was "a vendors" pop-up that was blocking my access to my messages. After filing a complaint with the BBB, they now claim that it is not a vendor that is causing the pop-up, but their own servers. This cannot be true, as the pop-up was removed (albeit, only temporarily) by THEM, allowing me access to my matches - I thanked them by email and still have that email to prove what I am saying. The pop-up is back, and they claim (to the BBB) that they have no way of taking it off their servers. But they did!! It was taken off BY THEM for about a week before the pop-up came back.
So, there is conflict in their statements, and in my opinion they are being disingenuous. And, I am a PAYING subscriber! Imagine how poorly someone who is not paying, would be treated. I can't wait till my subscription ends in mid-October - I will be off and will not be back. Already, I am getting offers from them to renew my membership at a discounted rate!! Are they kidding??? More to the point, are they for real??? What planet are they living on? I hate them and would not renew for a penny. Not one more cent will they EVER get from me.
Updated on 09/07/2022: Complained to customer service that I was a paid subscriber, but could not access my matches and messages, because one of their advertisers was blocking me from doing so- by creating a pop-up blocker that tried to force me join something called "vibe chat". There was no workaround- no way to close that pop-up, cancel it or stop it- you were forced to continue onto the vibe chat advertisement. It took weeks for customer service to get back to me- they finally did and stopped the blocking pop-up from forcing me to join vibe chat. But, that was only temporary- it lasted for a few days and now that blasted pop-up is back, and once again I cannot access my messages and matches, even though my subscription runs through October.
I am so mad at Match, I wish I could sue them in court for a refund of my subscription, as being forced to join an advertiser's vibe chat was not part of my terms and conditions when I paid Match money for my subscription, which is once again useless. Match puts it advertisers ahead of its subscribers and could not care less about subscribers. My experiences with Match have been awful and I warn anyone who is considering joining Match to read what I have written about how they have treated me, and think twice about joining. Had I known Match cared not about its subscribers, but only its advertisers, I never would have joined. I am so sorry that I did join Match, What a mistake.
Original Review: Paid for a membership yet cannot now access my messages, because they want me to do a "vibe chat". Cannot close out that popup for vibe chats, to access my messages. Also, tired of all the attempts to get me to upgrade my account with garbage features that I do not want, do not want to pay for and were not part of the terms and conditions that I agreed to when I signed up. Just contacted customer service about this and asked that they either give me access to my messages without these "vibe chats" or close my account and refund the balance left on my membership. I will not hold my breath. I am also tired of being spammed to get video chats and more junk from them- I had to put "Match" in my spam folder! Get that? I pay for a membership and have to put them in my spam folder because they won't leave me alone and just let me have the membership I signed up for, but constantly force me to decline all their premium junk. Sorry I ever joined.

You can do better than Match. I'm going to bet the bots are most of the people as nobody ever hits you back. Even if you are sent a "like". The information you supply is not taken into consideration when you fill out the required information. I contacted the "chat" folks, pretty much a useless group. None of my questions were answered to even a "poor" level of satisfaction. When you sign up for a package, you must pay for the entire time you picked even though the price given is a monthly price. When you decide to cancel you are shut down immediately, even if you still have paid time coming to you. You can do better than match.

I paid for a 1 month membership and had an issue soon thereafter where I was locked out of my account. Whenever I put in my username and password, I would get a message that said, "For your safety, please request a new password (forgot your password link)". When I clicked the link, I never received a followup email. I made at least seven attempts to reach out to technical support over the course of 8 days. I received one reply on day 3 that did not resolve my issue and nothing thereafter. I notified them three business days in advance that I would be disputing the charge on my credit card on day 9 because I was not receiving service. No response. I disputed the charge on day 9.
On day 11 I finally received my second response from technical support. They thanked me for the time I took to contact them. They apologized. They notified me that because I disputed the charge, they decided to terminate my subscription and that my account was no longer accessible. They thanked me for my understanding, let me know that if I needed anything else to let them know, and told me to have a great day. I even got an exclamation point, "Have a great day!". Well, thank you. I see no practical difference between account lock out and account termination. What a difference it would have made to have someone help me through my problem.

You will be billed even after cancelling your membership and there is no way to get credit even if you address the issue one day after the billing. the app re-instates the auto-renew feature if you remove it and re-install it even though you previously cancelled it. I spent a considerable amount of time filling out the questionnaire, including their added feature called "Dealbreaker". If dealbreaker is checked off, Match will not send you any matches that do not exactly meet your criteria. For example, I checked off ** as a dealbreaker. So why would they email me matches of ** men? Their reasoning is that when the "System" runs out of ** matches, it automatically emails you other ethnic matches. Their term dealbreaker does not apply.
In addition, they don't vet their members. I had a couple unpleasant experiences with men that were married or had serious psychological issues. How do I know this? I just googled their phone number. But match does not do this, they do not do anything to make sure their members are legit. The first month that I joined I was getting great responses from matches that met my criteria, but as time went by, the matches they emailed me were very random. Very few met my criteria. The first word of advice I would give someone: never “Like” a profile. They don’t have an “unlike” capability so you’re stuck with it in your listing of likes. (They should add some kind of timer to remove “likes” from your profile.) Secondly, don’t let them pick profiles for you to connect with. They sent me two recommendations and both were not active on the service for weeks. If you find someone you like send them a message and hope there is mutual interest. As a reminder: if you prepaid for a six month subscription and decide two or three months in it's not for you, you won’t get any kind of refund. Your profile will still be active on the platform until the subscription ends. I’d suggest removing your pictures and details once you decide to leave since they will continue to use it even if you’re not active.

Match Group, Inc. (Ticker: MTCH) should be shut down by the FCC! Its business practices are unscrupulous at best! This site is filled with FAKE profiles but what makes it worse is many of these FAKE profiles are monitored by Match Group employees, who send "Likes" and will reply to messages and lead you in conversations to peak your interest.
The minute you suggest to meet in person OR take the conversation off the site... crickets! That's the last time you'll hear from that "person" and they will no longer reply to your messages. This has happened multiple times over the different reduced rate 6-month subscriptions I fell for over a span of a few years, taking a break for a year or 2 then going back. Also, as many other reviewers have mentioned, MATCH inundates you with emails of "Likes" in an attempt to reel you back in, which they did. First time shame on you, second time shame on me! So I decided to set up a new profile then received a message saying that email has been used but the subscription was terminated. It also said new subscription would be reviewed and deleted? WHAT? I emailed customer support and each time I would get the "generic written message." I tried 3 or 4 times to email and explain that I had not been on the site and ask why was my profile terminated. If it was because it was inactive then I could understand but why could I not set up a new one. Same stupid response - they copy and paste it.
I then called customer support and got a lovely woman on the other end who told me to set up a new profile and I had to go through the entire story again a few times and when I asked why would it say new profiles would be reviewed and deleted??? WHAT? She had no answer. She was kind enough to say she would escalate to another department that could help and I should receive and email to reset my password. It has been two weeks and nothing. "Match.com" doesn't do the matching. They give you a thousand of members in your chosen age range and have you browse through them. I have a certain requirements for a guy (non-religious, non-smoker...), but I'd have to sort out through everyone myself, the site would just throw them all in bulk, disregarding my wishes. Then, for my profile to be "on the top" the site wants me to pay extra BY HOUR. There are also a lot of scammers - good looking guys, sometimes with very good English, sometimes they write as if they use a Google translator. They are easy to spot, but the fact that they can use "Match.com" is worrisome. I am in a "senior" section, but do not think it's any different in other age category. Hands down, and with the exception of the scam-riddled Elite Singles, this is the worst dating site I've encountered. Match.com is ineptly designed, clunky to use and often maddening just to access. The vaunted algorithm they employ to find you a supposedly perfect Match is in fact so lacking in nuance and discernment that it would consistently fail to pair Romeo with Juliet, or Cleopatra with Mark Antony.
It's bad enough that most of the clients lie about their age - that goes on at all dating sites. But Match made this worse by consistently sending me prospects who were 5-7 years older than the range I'd specified. And to create the impression that their dating pool is much larger than it actually is, they continued to send me "new" lists of women I'd looked at and rejected (or at least not selected) over and over again. Match.com does not let you keep track of women you've sent messages to unless they respond -- a functional limitation that can cause you embarrassment if you've forgotten you reached out earlier to certain women. Match.com sends out a daily email with all of your "new” choices, but often when you click on a picture, the display pops up another woman.
To make things worse, although you can reach a human support person on the phone, he or she is unable to deal with many recurring problems -- site access, for one. Match.com's log-in verification process is so time-consuming that it would not exaggerate to characterize it as abusive. Oh yes! Consider this: A verification process they have been using for at least six months shows eight panels with five or six dice in each; you have to pick the panel in which all the dice add up to 14. In many case the numbers/spots on some of the cubes are very difficult to read. But here's the thing: You must get TEN of these tests correct in order to move onto the next step: a two-step phone-text verification. Still worse is that if you have not gotten, say, test #4 or #7 correct, they do not flag this until you've completed all ten panels (in perhaps 3-4 minutes if your eyes and your arithmetic are pretty good).
At that point, if you've missed on any of the tests, you get the cute message "That's not quite correct!" and you have to start all over again. I complained about this, and the support person conceded it was an extremely annoying feature. He said he would report it to his superiors, but that was two months ago and nothing has changed.
Let's talk about those 'superiors' for a moment. If you have a real gripe with Match.com, there is NO way the company will allow you to communicate with anyone other than their feeble front-line phone support. They offer a 'Contact Us' email link, but don't waste your time with this, because it is fake. Click on ‘Contact us” and it brings up an error message that says you need to fix your Safari browser to communicate by email. Great, except that I was using a Firefox browser. I reported this problem when I first subscribed, but six months later the same error message was still popping up. Call support and they pretend you are the first problem to have reported this problem.
Like I said, they will not communicate with any client/customer/dupe via email. The best they will do is send a canned message, in my case with the name of one “Raul H” at bottom. Raul, if he exists, is apparently out to lunch, since his canned responses will ignore whatever you've written in your email. Tell them you caught a computer virus clicking on a spoofed Match.com promotion, and "Raul" will return a 6000-word explanation of their privacy and vaccine policies.
Some of Match.com’s practices verge on fraud. For instance, visibility "Boosts" for your profile are an upgrade you pay for. But unless you are very careful, you will accidentally trigger, and inadvertently use up, your boosts with errant key strokes. Also, they send out a special half-price extension offer when your subscription is nearing renewal. Click on it to see the details of the offer and, lo, you will discover that you've just approved -- and paid for – the renewal. This is very misleading -- but again, don't expect to get past phone support if you want to complain about it. Support may offer a refund, but the company apparently will do nothing to correct its shoddy ways.
Match claims to be the biggest dating service, but it's hard to believe that with so many customers, they would continue such practices and offer a web interface that behaves like it was coded by a seventh grader. They are awful in oh-so-many ways, and you would do well to avoid them. Read some of the other negative reviews posted here for a more complete catalogue of Match's many negatives, including holding onto your credit card information so that they can 're-enroll' and charge you months after you've left the service. Bottom line: a big thumbs down for Match.com.

It's all a scam. Pay close attention what they're doing. The matches are based on an algorithm, which does not work; but actually is designed not to respond to your selections, but to "feed the system." You'll notice that the age ranges of the women and men are capped, and staggered accordingly. Also, when you check the boxes on your deal breakers, it doesn't work. If constricted, it's by design. And, IF you leave, they are hoping to keep your 60-90 bucks $ or whatever as a payment, thinking you can't get your money back. It's a scam.
Someone is getting rich off of this. They're only making happy the upper 22% or so, of the upper female, or male members on this site with plenty of dates. Some of the profiles are even gone! They are honest enough to tell you in the text IF you read closely enough! Ex: "I am no longer here, because of Covid-19, or I am leaving in case they don't remove this profile. And, they are not removing some profiles, when you do leave! Stay away from this place. Especially, if you're a guy. We all need some federal legislation to come down to help clean this industry up!

Match is a complete scam. I was on there for 24 hours and they sent me an email saying my account was terminated and due to privacy policies they couldn't tell me why. The only comment that decision could have been based on was one I made that it may have been a bad decision to use Match. Well, turns out I was right. They have all my information including photos, driver's license, to verify my account, address, phone number and payment information. Any identity issues after this...I'm pointing right at them.
Getting ahold of customer service is a joke because it is overseas. THAT information wasn't disclosed. I would have run had I known. As far as matches, the site was saying I liked a slew of nasties I never liked. When I would delete someone, they would keep coming back. The lady whose review mentioned the foot licker...yeah he's still there. Why isn't he kicked off? Regulatory commissions need to jump on these companies for keeping profiles. Actually, would it help? 1) Their algorithm does not work. I put very specific settings, even set them as “dealbreakers” and would still get likes and messages from 100+ people a day who didn’t match my settings, it was exhausting. Not only that but I’d say 20% of the messages I received from these men were inappropriate and made me feel objectified. Ex: One guy told me he wanted to tickle my feet so I responded saying how inappropriate it was and then he said he wanted to lick my toes. Another guy was offended that I never responded to him, after I responded letting him know my dog had passed and wasn’t checking Match, he told me to “** you and your dead dog”. Yes, I blocked both of them.
2) After this horrible 48 hour experience on Match, I tried to cancel. I had purchased a 6 month installment plan ($27 a month). I called Match and told them about my experience and that I no longer wanted to use their site, that I cancelled my subscription after 2 days and they refused a refund. I waited on hold for 45 minutes to speak with a manager. Horrible customer service. 10/10 would NOT RECOMMEND MATCH.

I was a widow and joined Match in 2009. I exchanged chit chat with a few people and made arrangements to meet one person at the Elks for a beer. He was a no show and his reason was - after he re-read my profile he realized I was a Taurus and he felt our signs clashed. I'm glad he was a no show because that kind of thinking is too weird for me. The second person I met lived 2 hours away and we both decided it was too far to meet in the middle. The third person was a winner. We met in a public place the first time and dated for over a year. We've been living together since 2010 and have built a home together. So it goes around with hard to see images, some that do not add to 14, and shuffles them as if in a card game with a card shark. It's outrageous because the dice are hard to see. Imagine yourself, looking at 6 thumbnail images, hard to see because dice are on their sides, and then you have to go from one image to another to add 14. I have seen other websites use select the category that fits, boats, cars, traffic lights, etc. But only fools ask you to add while viewing vague images and then the system shuts off because you took too long but they never showed the right combination. Match.com is the most untrusted company that you can give not just ALL your personal data to, but your information about your in depth self and pictures too. And guess who you are giving all that data to? Yes, OUTSOURCED companies that don’t even speak English. Most identity fraud, scams, and data selling come from these outsourced companies that do not have any repercussions for hurting Americans. I set up an account just to be locked out after they received all my personal data. Here is what I experienced afterwards.
First outsourced “customer service” rep was a male that had complete access to my account and made my account invisible to other users after my complaint of being kicked out. He was very inappropriate and told me that I wouldn’t have any trouble finding men after looking through my pictures!!!! He then started asking me personal questions about my pictures like asking me what “those things were called” that I was on, and if I enjoyed them.... He was completely invasive and inappropriately creepy. I was so uncomfortable that this person had all my personal information and could TOTALLY HIJACK MY ACCOUNT with my name and pictures and I wouldn’t have access to get back on to delete. When he gave me access to get back on, I was once again kicked back off!
Second OUTSOURCED “customer service rep” answered the phone in a foreign accent, I then asked for their US-American customer service line and she would not give me one. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she PRETENDED TO TRANSFER ME and then changed her name pretending to be someone else, it was so obvious! Then I asked her if there was a higher manager I could talk to and with a prideful attitude said “”NOPE.. I am the highest here and you have no one else you can talk to." She said I would be receiving an email about my account and that was the only way to communicate was through email.
The email came and said this. “Your Match account has been terminated. Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose specifics about any Match account, including your own.” WOW! Basically you have given all your personal data, even pictures and now they can hijack your account and do whatever with it because you can’t even delete you pictures etc. - Oh and not even you can get information on your own account. You need to know that this isn’t even truly a dating site, it’s a cover for data collection and all your personal information that they sell. You can not trust any OUTSOURCED companies that do not have the American people’s interest at heart.

Well as soon as I paid the $45...all messages stopped and the same with the "likes"... It was very obvious that this site is a scam. They have automated messages and likes that go out to non-members. I also learned that the people who are actually on there are scammer. Lots of folks from out of the country pretending to be in state. Lots of the time the accounts will state they are in one place and when you chat they soon share they are overseas. I did make it a point to report these accounts, just for the heck of it and of course, they were never removed.
All these fake accounts are still there. Many with multiple accounts, same pictures just different names and locations. It's a shame. This site is a scam, both directly from Match.com itself and from overseas scammers that manage to create accounts. I requested a refund but of course the request wasn't acknowledged. Stay away from this site as well as most of the other ones! You're better off staying single and someday just meeting someone out in the real world.

After that you pay 50 bucks just to talk to a dating expert. So following all suggestions I had only one reply and she dropped me for more money. The women on this site are gold diggers. I can offer love, show love and yes I make great money but when someone comes along with more money the gold diggers on this site and Match.com could care less. All they want is your money. Their customer service is useless and because they own most of the market they proceeded to ban me from all of their platforms and just hid behind this wall. The features Match.com describes in their online documentation are completely absent from both the app and the browser version. I have communicated numerous times with Tech Support and they just blithely state that the terminology used in their documentation is "different" than how the app looks. So be prepared to never find anything you are looking for, either by poking around or looking through the online Help. If you do ask questions the first thing you get is an automated reply that never has anything even remotely to do with what you asked. You then have to Reply to get a human response. None of them are any better than the bot. You will never get an answer to any question, no matter how simple.
I upgraded to the Premium service at purchase. That supposedly gives you access to several upgrade features. Guess what? Most of them don't even exist. They just use misleading names to suggest this feature and that. But in reality they don't even exist. I live close to the Canadian border. I was told (by Match.com) that my subscription includes Searching in Canada. But guess what? There is no way to perform a Search for Canada. In any way, shape, or form. If you attempt to provide location info for Canada you get an error that the place you are Searching is not legitimate.
I am a professional and posted a handful of OK photos. I wrote a profile that was reviewed and updated by a plethora of female friends. I have sent a Message to over 150 profiles (because you never know if a Profile is actually a real person). Over 18 months I have received ZERO responses. It is possible I am that bad. But one would think at least somebody would say Hello. I have asked Tech Support whether there is something wrong with my account - for example, you can't Message if you create a Free account. They don't answer the question and just tell me to "keep trying". I even paid the extra to enable Free users to message back to me. Still nothing.
You will be less frustrated and have more luck stepping out your front door and screaming at the sky - or the neighbor's dog. I recommend you DO NOT spend a cent on Match. I have talked to dozens of people who have had similar experiences on Match. Yes, there may be some success stories. They are by far the exception.

I've been a paid member of Match on and off for the better part of 6 years. All has been good until recently, the past year or so. I am a gay woman that obviously seeks gay women and this is listed in the preferences on my profile. For the past year, and only in the past year, I have been receiving daily messages from men. Every single day. Every single week. For the past year. This is far beyond the occasional "guy who pretends to be a woman seeking women" profile - with the amount of men that I've received messages from despite my profile falling under the 'women seeking women' category tells me that Match.com is now displaying my profile in the "Top Picks" for men, despite the fact that my profile is not supposed to be shown to men. In other words - Match.com is now drawing from gay women's profiles just to keep their (paying) men customers.
As someone who is being charged ~$50/month, this is completely unacceptable. There is no way these men would even have a chance to view my profile if it were not for Match shoving my profile in their faces. No doubt they're doing this to other gay women as well.
