I am an advertiser with a large budget. We spend tens of thousands of dollars with Facebook yet we are completely unable to find an answer to our issue. Is it fair that a company can take all this money and never be responsible for customer support? Facebook wants us to "ask the community", which are not Facebook employees. Ever go to a doctor and get told that the doctor is too busy and to ask people in the lobby instead? Facebook should not be allowed to take money and not offer support.

When I did this, it takes me through the same thing. I will say this much. My father passed two years ago and I have all the memories of he and I on there and cannot access it. If something happens to these pictures, I will seek action and sue. I am a government employee, veteran of the United States Military and I am treated like this. I am so disappointed.

One fine day I checked my Facebook page and was scrolling through messages and hit a dead end. There was a message from the Facebook gestapo telling me that if I wanted to see the rest of my messages I would have to add more friends. That is frigging crazy. I am 67 years old veteran and served and my country HONORABLY. I suffered a devastating stroke seven years ago and I am still recovering from that experience. I will be on disability for the rest of my life. Most of my friends are already dead or they do not use Facebook anyway. In short, I have all the friends and family I need and Mark Zuckerberg henchmen does not have right to extort that constitutional right from me.

“Extortion (also called shakedown, outwrestling and exaction) is a criminal offense of obtaining money, property, or services from an individual or institution, through coercion.” I put this information on my Facebook page and also friended Mark Zuckerberg and started sending his friends that message also in hope that Mark Zuckerberg would get the message and put an end to this craziness. Instead of that happening Mark Zuckerberg sent the mafia after me and they locked me out of my accounts. The new message was to get 3-5 of your friends and kiss their ** so that I could grovel beneath the boots Mark Zuckerberg Gestapo. HELL WILL FREEZE OVER BEFORE THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN!!! Mark Zuckerberg’s sole source of income is advertising and his greed to wring every penny out of his members that sign up for this service downright wrong. My mother always told her four boys that money is the root of all EVIL. She was damn sure right.

So almost a week ago, Facebook banned me from posting, commenting or liking post made by contacts or pages I follow. Their reason for the ban "Calling someone a MORON", yes read right folks, a ban for calling someone a MORON. But get this, on two news pages that I follow, some people make death threats, call others names namely (Pink Pigs), talk about land that was stolen (Without any proof) in the Apartheid era. And guess what??? Facebook does nothing about that. So I personally think the 30 day ban was completely uncalled for.

My response was calling them a "Ignorant racist." 24 hours later my page was blocked for 30 days. But before my block I reported most of the comments calling me disgusting names. I was told "Thank You for reporting but those disgusting comments DID NOT violate FB terms" but mine DID. What? So being called a ** Loving ** is cool with FB but the words ignorant racist is outta line. I've reported animal abuse, child abuse, graphic clips from ** movies, animals being slaughtered and was told REPEATEDLY none of those violated any rules. But my 2 words gets me blocked for 30 days?? I opened up another Facebook account with a different email address and it was up and running great for 2 months. Then one day I posted a picture of me and my family tagging all of them and then about 30 mins later I was asked to send a picture that there was suspicious activity on my account. I did so and it was even my driver’s license. Now they closed that account and I have tried to contact Facebook directly and there is no number or anything to contact. I can't use that account and can't open a new one. Every time I do they close me done saying same thing. This isn't fair. I am unable to stay connected with my family and all. The very same day being Friday, after not having been active for weeks, I posted a Bitmoji of myself saying TGIF and around noon my account was disabled. I've submitted numerous photos with my DL and work ID, verifying my information with my date of birth and email and I have yet to hear from anyone. What's worse is that I have lost pictures, memories and conversations with me of my father who passed away a year ago. I have never posted any nudity or profanity on my page because I know the policy and wouldn't want or need to anyway. Not to mention they close the ticket when they answer you, without awaiting the consumer's response. This is also not including the fact they tried to steal half the funds from the transfer and refused to comment on that fact. They ran for about a week with the idea of preventing others from suffering the same fate... Being the unwitting victim of someone faking love and marriage just to get American green card... This happens to a lot of people... Especially women victims... The reaction worldwide from the ads was phenomenal and positive to what I was trying to illustrate with pictures that the fraudster Michelle ** herself had made public...

Of course the fraudster does not want to be exposed so she lyingly complained that she was being "abused" and "shamed" on Facebook... There are other similar pages on Facebook describing what these fraudsters do to hurt nice people just to get their green cards... Well... Despite have previously approved the ads and collecting payment... They pulled the ads! Facebook never bothered to discuss with me or research the truth of these ads designed to help potential victims... It's just outrageous that the fraudster Michelle ** now can go along her merry way, get employed as a result of fraud and lying to the government and Facebook prevents exposure of this verified, documented federal crime?

Meanwhile billionaire Mark Zuckerberg collects a fortune and degrees from Harvard... Michelle ** is also potential terrorist material and if Facebook is so lax, they are potentially permitting more Manchesters or other disasters to take place... Facebook claims an appeal process when an ad is pulled but that does not exist... The video was about consumers complaining about fraudulent meat and none of them were nude. Facebook did not review the video nor did the title allow them thought, they just went ahead and blocked my account for three days. There was no way to rebut their claim even though it was a blatant lie. After three days I was able to use my account. They logged me out for suspicious activity and proceeded to disable my account accusing me of posting nudity and solicitation.

I would have made the nudity slide but to have bots monitoring users then conclude and misrepresent people is really a bad thing. Not once have I ever solicited anyone on Facebook and it is offensive to anyone who has never done so to be accused and labeled as such. Robots cannot replace humans and while they do make things a bit easier Facebook should really have humans check over accounts that are accused of such. I could have been in my home and Facebook literally send authorities based on their so called fake findings. Solicitation is not good and people so tread with caution when using that website.

I had a Facebook account for 9 years under the name "Nogood Nick" which I use for both personal and promotion (as a musician). Facebook suspended my account last week for suspecting this was not my legal name and asked me to upload a legal ID. I sent them an ID that I use with this name but my account is still closed with a message that they are "reviewing the documents". A quick Google search finds this is a common problem where Facebook users receive this message while Facebook continues to "review the documents" for weeks or months or indefinitely.

In the meantime I have no access to my events, conversations on Messenger that I need for travel plans in the near future as well as the loss of several apps that use Facebook connect to log in (I wouldn't use Facebook at all if it weren't for the necessity of having an account to log in to an increasing number of products, and also for events). So aside from treating me poorly as a long-time customer, Facebook is also interfering with my business by cutting off access to non-Facebook-owned digital accounts that I use. As far as I can tell Facebook has no direct way of contacting a person at the company to resolve this dispute. A complaint with the BBB yielded only the same canned, robot response the website gives me.

The entire Facebook website is very unprofessionally managed. Let me give an example. When I first opened a Facebook account I didn't have any friends there and I was concerned about privacy so I did not share much data about myself other than what was needful. Consequently, at the same time, my tenant moved out to be closer to his job and I want to rent his space to someone else so I went to a site called Roomster and placed an ad there for a new tenant. Roomster only allows its site to be logged in to with a Facebook account. When I logged in, because of my privacy settings I was INSTANTLY banned from the Roomster site with a huge message on the screen saying my Facebook account does not live up to the Roomster standard. Within 24 hours my Facebook account was disabled by Facebook and I had to identify myself to them and they re-enabled my account.

A few months later after I found a new tenant but I went back Roomster to see if the issue there had changed after using Facebook this whole time. After trying to log in to the Roomster site within 24 hours my Facebook account was disabled again and I had to go through the whole procedure all over of verifying my identity to re-gain use of the account. Last week out of curiosity I went back to the Roomster site to see if my account was still disabled and it was and with the same message as the first and second times. The next day, guess what? My Facebook account was disabled again.

So I have learned through trial and error that even if your Roomster account is disabled in error, each time you try to log in afterwards, Roomster sends a 10 ALARM FIRE MESSAGE about you to Facebook as if you had nuclear weapon instructions on your Facebook page, and Facebook responds by blocking your account as many now know unjustly. This is the reason why I say the entire Facebook is very unprofessionally managed. This time when they re-enable my account, if they do, I am closing it, because Facebook is not really fun, if the site management are very out of present time like that when it comes to dealing with people and circumstances. :)

"You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or **; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence." - Once again, I was harassed, stalked and called vile names. "You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory." - This scammer is running a scam on Facebook and continues to deceive and lie for the purpose of monetary gain. Have proof. "You will not create more than one personal account." - Because this scammer was harassing me from Facebook on YouTube I had to block a number of the scammer's aliases on personal accounts. Facebook don't even know what their own rules are about because if they did I should not have been blocked twice.

I've been on Facebook 8 years, previously have had minor issues related to compromised account, whereas account had been compromised or penetrated by another user. What happens in such cases account is locked until account holder re-secures their account. So no problem there. It's only been recent whereas things went downhill very fast. My account was banned consecutively. First ban was lifted and within matter of just a few hours was re-banned for "alleged" same offense. As it is post of concern was a post I wasn't the one who posted as apparently account was compromised by another user in which that event wasn't caught until someone flagged post as inappropriate subsequently resulting in my account being banned. First ban was for 3 days, second offense was now 7 days. And required means of identification needed, i.e., driver's license to verify I am who I am I guess?

The most bothersome and upsetting thing about all this, is Facebook doesn't in the least acknowledge member refuting the ban. They don't bother to investigate and reconsider possibility of lifting the ban. There's no possible means as well other than for law enforcement for members to communicate so that they can come to a reasonable understanding and agreement with Facebook and work out a solution. So with this latest experience I'm convinced it's time to say my final goodbyes to this social media. It's not worth the aggravation or upsetment.

Updated on 04/15/2017: I was fortunate and lucky enough Facebook did verify and basically gave me lurking status. Can view my news feed but can't interact nor could I send instant messages. Second ban was for 7 days. I attempted and failed at appealing as they fall on deaf ears. There is no such animal as a resolutions department with regards to Facebook. I'm seriously considering leaving Facebook altogether when this Fiasco is all said and done. No need to be associated with a Nazi Social Network.

I posted a video on my page a few weeks ago. I got a 30 days suspension as Facebook said I violated the community standard for displaying nudity... which is absolutely wrong. There was no nudity in my post. The trouble is one week later I spotted at least 2 people with the same video in their wall so I decided to check with Facebook by reporting those post. The following days I had their usual message... "Thank you... making Facebook safe. After checking the post we post we noticed this doesn't violate our community standard." The trouble is this is the second time it happens to me after going through another 30 days suspension for the same fake reason. When I try to make an appeal I keep getting the same automated message... About problems with their software and never get my suspension lifted before the 30 days.

I always take time to check all my posts in order to make sure everything goes right. Is it human being that check people post on this Facebook or is it software? In case it's a software this one must out of date. I think Facebook should be fair with all his customers. Why targeting some people... I see many videos out there violating their so said community standard and there is no way to report neither to block them. I think something going wrong with Facebook and someone must look at those issues. Thanks.

A year ago I started sending facebook messages (on their pages that "say" they are there to do customer service) about a problem with my account - not receiving most of the email notifications I had been receiving for years. I had gone to their help pages and checked everything they said to check - all was set correctly and had not changed since setting up the account. I wrote to them weekly, at first, since nothing was fixed and no response. After a few messages, I finally started sending daily updates of not having my account fixed.

After a couple or more weeks of daily messages I gave up and have limped along with the few messages I got, and would have to visit pages to see what may be going on in my friends lives or in my groups. Since then, nothing has changed until the past few days. NOW, I am getting NO notices at all. Again, I checked everything, nothing has changed. I wrote to them, got the canned message thanking me for my "feedback". Nothing has been fixed, no responses and nothing but frustration. I even went as far as closing my facebook and browser and reopening them - still, nothing working.

I have looked through my newsfeed - even there, not all messages are coming through. I belong to a few animal rescue groups, and because I did not get any notification, a litter of baby hedgehogs perished because I was not "available" to help - but I would have been, had I known there was a problem posted to the group. Facebook is fine as a toy - it is no longer something anyone can depend on for much more than a toy. They have no customer service - nothing is fixed - and no answers about much of anything. I wish the advertisers were aware of the shoddy business they are supporting.

There is no way for her to report the problem, I can't log in! My phone and email contact is linked to my account and have not changed in over 20 years. Not only is the history of my family on my timeline, pics of graduations for Grandkids, Granma before she got sick, everything is there. My Aunt died last week and the family was asking for pics for her service. I'm still not allowed to get back into my account!

But I have a personal sales page, 2 public sales pages, one a garage sale, for the surrounding areas with over 5000 members, 1 an antique Christmas and holiday page, and 2 community pages for the people in the neighborhood to meet and chat. I am locked out of EVERY page. There are no admin other than myself. I never knew this could happen. I put a lot of work into these pages. A lot of my free time was spent building them and arranging get togethers for the community, and now they are threatened and there is nothing I can do to get a hold of anyone to help? An explanation would be nice. I have had this same account for over 15 years, never made any changes, it's me. I have used the same computer since 2009 and FB locks me out of my accounts because I am not logged into a recognized device. Please make FB more accountable for the consumer and our protection of privacy of our information! Facebook for business owners deserves zero stars. Facebook allows businesses to sign up as a business with no authorization needed like all other major online ad networks. Into 3 weeks of having a Facebook business only page, I have several ad campaigns running on Facebook. Since my login is frozen today (I can't cancel the ads) the login error says I need to send verification. Facebook continues to use and charge my credit cards while locking me out of both my business page and ad manager account. This seems to be unethical and illegal. There was no ID required prior to Facebook accessing my credit cards. Of course, even for business owners, Facebook has no direct support line. I've written several emails outlining the irony of their policy to the Facebook Ad, Sales, and Privacy departments and of course, no reply to my emails!

Two major issues: Locking business out of controlling their use of their credit cards and unnecessary gathering of citizens' DOB, social security, Driver's License without a true reason for such fishy activity on their part and dubious lawfulness of such requests. Facebook is just an advertising hub. With such poorly managed customer service, I'm betting advertisers will leave Facebook in record numbers and a few lawsuits should follow.

Facebook managed to "get in early" on global networking apps, & thus dominate the market. And if someone new to networking wants to talk to people they already know, then it makes perfect sense to join the same app that their friends are using. Unfortunately, this early domination of Facebook has meant a lack of competition, causing a lazy & careless attitude from the Facebook staff. One thing is for sure is that many people experience many problems with Facebook due to its poorly designed interface, with confusion about how to alter privacy settings, knowing exactly what they even mean, unknowns regarding whether others will be "tagged" in posts, etc. I think the worst thing is how all the unanswered & "Closed" questions in Facebook's "Help Centre" go to show that the "management" team simply can't be bothered help people with their issues. This leaves me to wonder exactly what the Facebook team spend all their time doing.

One recent utter annoyance is that by writing someone's name in a post, Facebook no longer gives the recipient a Notification, but actually adds your post to their Timelines as well. Previously, this was only done by using the "Tagging" feature within the edit window. So now we have a situation where one of two separate functions have been changed to the other, meaning that now both methods provide the same result. Now it is not possible to simply send a notification to friends along with your post that may be particularly relevant to those select few. That is, unless the carelessly "experimental" Facebook team have now made this function the result of a completely different method. Who knows?! And even if we did know the way to accomplish a specific task in Facebook, who knows when they will modify setting again?!

I only know that when the Facebook team change settings, do not inform its users, & furthermore disrespectfully "Close" unanswered questions on their own "Help" page which is specifically designed to answer peoples' questions. Many of its users find themselves in situations where they confuse, agitate, or even downright anger their Friends with actions that unknowingly encroach upon their privacy.

Facebook has several things I object to: Requiring real name. Can fake it, how can they check as long as it's human sounding and you don't change it too much and cause a "red flag". They have default settings like making friends appear in public and you have to go in and reset things to private. They have no right to "display things in public" without people's permission. Any problems with another Facebook account being abusive, sending you spam, etc can't be rectified the right way which is to delete the offender's account. Instead you report things and usually nothing's done - offender's account stays. All you can is to block abuser's accounts and shut off chat to them since anyone "out there" can send you messages even though you've blocked them. But you still have their messages in the inbox and have to delete them later if they pile up.

People are many times being asked to send in their I.D. to no avail. I haven't had this happen luckily but good to leery of. No private website has a right to ask for personal documents - it should be against the law. Facebook is typical of privately owned websites, they have policies that stink and people can take advantage and delete you for no reason. Even the owner's themselves of many sites do the deleting/banning personally because of a "power trip". Sickening.

There is no contacting Facebook "people". It's all automated replying and any emails found by Googling them are either also automated or are dead and go nowhere. Pretending "someone will read them" is a con artist's idea and Facebook's founder is a con artist for doing this. Running a website and making $$$ off it using "con jobs" should be illegal and he should be in jail for FRAUD.

I've encountered the above from personal experience, like right now I have a fake impostor Denver Police officer and cannot get his attack/scam account deleted. Facebook, as usual, sends auto replies while trying so it's typical... The impostor felon stays there. Advice - Never put any place what you don't want to lose. Be prepared to get deleted, banned, whatever anytime. It may or may not happen, true, but at least be aware of it. Never use real information to set up accounts. Too many abusers/weirdos take advantage and get you with it. If site asks for it, fake it, if you don't know how to Google it for that site itself - there are how-tos to help you out. You need to do what's needed to protect yourself on places. I've learned long ago and Facebook is no different.

I have had a 10 yr old Facebook account with the same name -- a hyphenated initials only of my last name at the time and my full first name. It was a name chosen after recommendation by an attorney to either never do social media, or must use pseudonym because of a very unstable ex who was a hobby hacker as well as threatened to harm me multiple times as well as engaging other unstable people to come after me, particularly of ex-military types. In addition, my current career differs from my political views, and any personal social accounts found would harm my career permanently.

So- after reposting a number of NYTimes, Washington Post, CNN type articles recently, following Robert Reich's reports and others - I had some direct complaints to me from my circle of REAL people that I met in person first --- but took a suspicious poll on POTUS popularity. Within a couple days, Facebook received a complaint about me as 'fake' and 'abusive' and FB demanded govt ID and they would remove my name and change it to match my govt ID. When I explained my personal security reasons as to why I am using initials- they refused to listen and demanded they have all copies of govt ID as posted and they would NOT give up on changing my name and instead sent me their privacy options (which I am very good at and use, but Facebook's security systems are severely flawed as anyone who has been hacked there knows!!!).

When I wrote details about my background further, they still refuse to allow me to use my last name initials only and when I showed them utility bill copies with only the first initials of the last name hyphenated shown, they said that I had to provide full name copies or I will not be allowed on. 10 years of tagged photos and almost 400 contacts, most of whom I do not have current phone or address to because of moving and traveling so much for work --- I AM NOT ALLOWED. This may be trivial to many people, but I wrote to everyone I could and will continue to do so.

Basically here is why: Many reports of pedophiles able to attack children forced to use real names, women stalked, people harassed. I am known for that name on Facebook - and being my 'real' friends, they either know my real name or forgot it and still prefer to find me under that name. I deserve to have ownership of my own photos and contacts; if they want to block me from everyone else -- FINE. I want my friends lists so I can let all of them know (if they have not found out yet). My friends have been writing to Facebook on my behalf and have been IGNORED. Facebook is now a part of blocking the first amendment by allowing anyone to cast complaints on any person without the same political or other belief systems.

Facebook took the time to report all of my messenger lists to all of my messenger contacts looking for me on the day they did this to me--- as me being 'reported to be abusive or spam'---- just because I am not a 'famous celebrity' doesn't give Facebook the right to slander me in anyway. I have the screen shot to prove they did exactly that. My account has never been 'hacked' yet-- perhaps a show of how strong my name choice and security is?? Meanwhile, nearly every person with a 'real' name that I know has been hacked in the last 2 years. My entire name is too unique, middle, previous and current last name-- and Facebook owns the rights to my profile pictures and makes it publicly searchable. So any and all privacy settings are nullified because Facebook let me believe I could maintain personal security all this time.

The laws in my state say that I must physically be injured before anything can be done to any 'ex'. Thanks Facebook-- you basically told me you would rather see me dead than allow me my anonymity for security reasons. If ANYONE has any means of getting through to Mark Zuckerberg himself - or reporting just how many people have been injured due to his nonsense staff-- I would like to know.

My account was locked and Facebook said they needed age verification. I followed the directions to the letter. I used my Drivers license and CCP. Both show my name, address, DOB and a photo. A few hours later I received an email stating that the identification could not be used or could not be read. The photos are clear as day. They can be read even on my tiny phone screen. The state issued drivers license is listed on the website as an acceptable form of Identification. I took additional photos at higher resolution. I submitted the new photos to the Website in addition to attaching them to an email reply. Facebook never bothered to reply and my account is locked.

Age verification? I have had a Facebook profile from their beginnings. My profile clearly showed my work history was well over the 13 year age requirement. My spouse and I have our relationship status in our profile. I can't tell how many photos of our kids we tagged each other in. I had a boat load of confirmed friends and family on my profile. A drunken monkey could tell I was over 13. I suspect Facebook is Discriminating against Veterans. The identification I sent was 100% proof of my name, address, and date of birth all of which matched my profile.

I try this for days and they have yet to fix the problem. This account they disabled was active with Anonymous and they were attempting to put a cap and control the news coming out on CPS but it was a fail and Mark does not like not having complete control. I lost pictures of my deceased brother, 5k in friends and Administration in quite a lot of Anonymous Groups and my own in Northern Cali. Since then I opened another account only for Mark to shut it down within 15-20 minutes. What is he so scared about getting out? Or... Does he have control issues or just issues?

01/14/2017 I went to log in to my Facebook account that I set up last week and the computer wanted me to enter my phone number into the system again. I called the customer service department to find out why I was being asked to re-submit my information again every time I log-in to Facebook. The customer service supervisors and their employees said that the computer was protecting me against hackers. I told them that it is a Facebook account. It is not a bank account. If the hackers want to look at the account I do not have a problem with it. The information that I submitted to Facebook was not vital. I just needed to be able to use the account.

The customer service representative supervisors and their employees told me that I had to buy a code from Walmart or Verizon. The money would be reimbursed. I informed the customer service representatives supervisors and their employees that I could not afford the to buy the codes from Walmart or Verizon. I am poor. I also told the customer service supervisors and their employees to delete the Facebook page, because I could not log in, and delete it myself. The customer service representatives supervisors and their employees began to tell me that they could not delete the Facebook page and that they could not help me.

Throughout my entire conversation with the customer service representatives supervisors and their employees they were rude and disrespectful. They hung up on me a hundred times; they told me that the CEO of Facebook would not speak to me; because he does not care about my issue; and they said that they did not care about my problem. The customer services representatives supervisors and their employees pretended to be a grocery store. They were very argumentative. They refused to provide me with excellent customer service. Finally, after many phone calls the customer service representative supervisors and employees said that the account was deleted. I am still not sure if the Facebook account is deleted. That worries me because now I have a Facebook account that may or may not be active. My information may be easily accessible to someone else, but not me. I did not expect this confusion and chaos from Facebook.

Soon afterwards, father and son connected using Playstation, so father and grandmother shared the Facebook page to play games. Father deleted his own FB account, as he was verbally abused by family members, and FB did nothing about the lewd language! Facebook, without warning, suspended grandson's FB account on or about Jan 8 2017! This FB account was active over the course of 7 years! No **, no naked pictures! Only messages to family and friends and ''game playing,'' which was played every day over a year. EVERY DAY OVER A YEAR!

Why does Facebook delete accounts of harmless persons, yet allow true fake accounts to continue, as well as those who promote ** and pictures of naked people, and countless persons using foul language??? To Mark Zimmmeeeerrrr: glad you got rich by selling out the rest of us, and as far as your media website being free forever... phhht, it ain't true! Still waiting for FB to reinstate account.

First I was blocked from liking or posting on FB & then my account was blocked unless I submitted a photo ID. My identity & social security number was stolen in 2014 & I certainly would not give this information to Facebook, considering their lack of security & love of selling my personal information to marketers.

There's no way to contact a live person & FB gives no reason for the block. Many times I have reported posts for profanity, nudity, hate, discrimination & racist & bigoted views, yet these are not below their community standards. I have reported obviously fake accounts & FB again says no problem & the account remain. They must be stopped. Example: I posted comedic political memes and have a profile picture of Colin Kaepernick, someone found this offensive, reported my account to Facebook. As a result, Facebook pursued identity authentication, which required me to submit Government-Issued ID or be locked out from my account. The intent of this policy is to lessen/prevent bullying, harassment, and faux celebrity accounts.

There's no published data stating the success of this policy. As an opinionated based social network, the opinions/beliefs of others shouldn't warrant the authentication process. As a result, I have filed both a BBB and FTC complaint based on their privacy policy. I implore everyone complaining about the same issue to do the same, there is strength in numbers or begin a petty movement requesting the identity of as many users as possible to get Facebook to review and/or amend this policy.

I've been with Facebook for 9 years and in the last 4 years, many people online have become intolerant, cyber bullies, which Facebook promotes, in violation of Facebook's own Community Rules. Here's the situation: You post a reply to a public news article, and Someone 99% of the time replies to your individual post with Insults, and name calling, and attacking you personally, and You Report it to Facebook, and They refuse to remove many of their vile comments after being reported. However, to the contrary, if you happen to respond in the exact same manner as the bully, to their rude, you're automatically blocked! One of my comments that was blocked was actually trying to reason with the bully and advising them to stop being rude, without using any harsh words. Still I was blocked.

IRONICALLY One bully, who had the rarity of having their comment removed after I reported it, accused me of being childish for reporting them. Then one of their friends reported one of my comments. How they were able to make that comment, after one of their comments was removed in violation, is a big mystery. You can't talk to Facebook on the phone with a person. They set it up that way. It's all online. They do have tech support overseas, but those guys in India will quickly hang up on you and refuse to transfer to a supervisor. I did call the Federal trade commission, who said that people need to complain to them at 1-877-382-4357 (800 call FTC). The more people complain, the more they may be able to bring civil action against Facebook. Please complain everywhere you can about them. They clearly need regulation.

I am honestly rethinking my decision about them. I do have thousands of pictures online with them and history of posts, but fortunately I did back up lots of my pictures on discs, and flash drives. I mean, if anything, the memories lie in my brain, which is most important. Facebook may be free, but they have no right to treat a person in such a horrible, biased, retaliatory, and discriminatory way. All People who bully others with rude comments, should have them removed, and blocked from commenting on Facebook for a set period of time, not just the person bullied, who may retaliate against the bully. Also, people who complain (on bullies), should not be retaliated against and made to show ID or prevented from commenting.

This whole thing is ridiculous. I can't wait until someone else comes along and dominates the social media culture. It will be celebration I look forward to and will forever remember and cherish. Best wishes to all. Remember, the FTC will document the complaint, and also the BBB will send a response, but do literally nothing. As of now, Facebook governs themselves. Just an FYI.

I have had my Facebook for about 10 years now. Have about 500 friends (family, in real life, and online), and a billion pictures ranging from myself to my son, friends, family, and pets. I've never had any issues when it came to my account. About 3 or so days ago I received a notification from Facebook stating someone was pretending to be me. They had the same first and middle name as me, but had a different last name. Their profile picture was also a picture of me, one that I actually have on my page. I responded to the notification advising this was not okay at all, and the page was deleted. About 2 days later I go to log in and am told my account was disabled because I was reported for being someone I am not. Are you kidding me??

I provided a picture of my driver's license and still have not heard anything back. I am highly upset. Like I said, I have had my page for about 10 years. I post religiously. If I was a phony why would it have taken this long for them to realize this? I feel like someone falsely reported me as being a fake out of spite. If my page is not recovered I will have lost the thousands of pictures that I've posted over the years. The sad reality is, I have been researching and this seems to be happening to a ton of innocent people yet there are all types of disgusting degrading pages on Facebook that are just being left to sit. It's sickening. I am very dissatisfied with Facebook at this point. 2-3 days later and I still have not heard anything back from them. That's terrible customer service at its finest.

I use my legal first & last name with a fun name in the middle. I have many friends who don't use their legal names, and nobody is harassing them to change it. The only reason they are harassing me is someone at Facebook has been reading my timeline, deleting posts, and just flat out discriminating against me because they can without identifying themselves. I'm starting to hate this site's controlling behavior and picking on people they feel like picking on.

I am a ** transgender male, they know it, and somebody has it in for me. And, don't respond with any hate crap about me, because I don't care if you like where I'm coming from or not ... please and thank you! I was in the fight for my identity or I would have quit, just because I had gaming nicknames did not mean I was not the real me. Resolved and YAY! Leaving Facebook.

    Original Review: Sept. 20, 2016

I need help. Facebook close my account. I sent them my Government ID blocking out the important information, but did show my real name, the name on my account and my real birthday, same as on my account. I then get this was not enough, it didn't match my information. It did. The picture is me on Facebook a few years younger, so I send them a copy of my marriage license, blocked sensitive information out but you can see my birthday, age and my real name. Remember this going on back and forth since yesterday. I get messages that stated someone is pretending to be me. Someone has report my account. The list is endless.

Today I get a email from what I hope is Facebook, having my doubts on this one saying, that someone else sent them the same information as me. Here is where this get very concerning. They now want me to send a picture of me and me holding the ID with my face. I'm not doing that. If two forms of ID, real name, birthday is not enough, I don't know what would be. I have asked them whom this person is? No response. They are now refusing to let me back in my account and will not destroy my personal information until I do as they say. I'm looking to file a serious complaint with the BBB and contact outside help. If some really has all my ID and sending it to them they should tell me who this person is so I can go to my local law enforcement and report them.

I did nothing wrong to deserve this. I feel violated. This was all because of some fake gaming users reported my account. Why because that-is what they do. I got a nasty PM from a lady as my daughter did, admitting she was a fake ranting a raving calling us fakes. Nothing was done to this person. She has over 6 fake user accounts. My warning please do not send them anything. What can be done about this? If someone has truly gotten a hold of my personal info, ID and such. Why is Facebook not going after them? From what I have been reading this is happen to many user over the last few weeks. My case is unusual. None of them were asked to hold up there ID with their faces and send that in. They are refusing again. I repeat to remove all personal information I sent them, until I send them this picture. This is crazy. I have never heard of anything like this.

Updated on 09/26/2016: I finally got my account back. I had written a review a week ago. It just got published on ConsumerAffairs. I did go ahead and send them a picture showing me holding my ID. A faker would not have went to these lengths. All I can say this has left a very bitter taste in my mouth and caused me so much stress. It was unbelievable. In closing, they do most certainly need real people to talk to and, be more proficient in dealing with people. My advice now is don't ever change your name. Use your real one and DOB. I had all that, but had used different names for gaming. When my account was closed everything was correct. Name, DOB. I don't think from my personal experience, I would ever go through this again. I would let them keep my page. No, one should be allowed to hit a report button out of spite, only for a good solid reasons.

I feel like Facebook does not do a good job protecting our identity and when you report it to them they don't even bother to do anything about it. It was not right for Facebook to tell me it doesn't violate community standards, like how does that not? My pictures were being used and my father's pictures were used from my actual account. I personally messaged the person who used the account under a different and told them I will take this matter to the police and have them track him or her down. I am an expat from South Africa living in Malaysia KL. FB has suspended my account for 3 days. Initially I did not have a problem with this as I can be expressive and may have posted something questionable, but then I noticed that the reason they gave was that a image or video of a child under the age of 18 of a sexual explicit nature had been posted. I have since contacted FB and requested that they tell me which post/video they found offensive as I am NOW taking huge offense as they did not inform me as to what post caused my account to be suspended! Nothing, silence! I am strongly against child abuse of any nature. The reason I am contacting Consumer Affairs and one I never shared with them is that I feel I should not be put into the same category as a pedophile!

My sister was abused as a 12 year old by a neighbor which caused emotional damage to the whole family! We were also exposed to a sex child offender by the name of Gregory ** a church goer and part of our congregation (Google him), which caused me to turn my back on church and God. More emotional family upset! FB has overstepped the line and opened up a lot of old wounds! There has never been ANY sexually questionable images or videos of an under 18 year old posted to my FB page unless they think that under 18 year old is me! Which just might be a backhanded compliment! In my opinion if FB is telling me to be mindful of what I post as this may cause offense to other people then they should be mindful of their accusations! They have no idea what people have gone through or go through offline. I feel sick to my stomach just typing this complaint.

I deactivated my first FB account in 2012 for personal reasons, but after much prodding from friends decided to give it another go. Everything seemed to be going well for the past couple of days since I created a new account - until today. In the middle of reading and responding to posts, I suddenly got locked out for absolutely no apparent reason. That was annoying enough but not nearly as aggravating as when I read a prompt telling me I needed to upload two forms of government-issued IDs. To be honest, my first thought was that I was either the victim of a scam or somehow my account had been hacked. I rebooted my computer, ran a full virus scan and tried again. Guess what? Same result.

To say that I'm absolutely LIVID is an understatement. I don't know where the ** (excuse my language) this company gets off even thinking that they have the right to ask for, never mind hold your account hostage by blackmailing you with a demand for IDs. And then, predictably, I did some research and it didn't take long to find endless tales of this BS - ranging from consumer lawsuits filed against FB because of this to countless people filing complaints on the BBB and ranting/raving about it everywhere. None of which, of course, helps me in this particular situation.

It's absolutely OUTRAGEOUS and completely UNACCEPTABLE for a social media site to act like it has government-sanctioned, legitimate reasons to ask for ID. I have absolutely NO intention of complying with this absurd, ridiculous and completely unacceptable demand. What really pisses me off is the nerve of FB - and the fact that no actual government agency has knocked them down a peg to remind them of their place!

Ever since 2008 on my fist deployment to Iraq I have been dealing with scammers using my old pics from MySpace. I deleted that account and so I thought. Till this day I still get females writing me on Facebook telling me they got burnt from someone using my photos. I Googled my name and sure enough I was on a website that said (most used military photos used in scams). I lost count how many times I reported to FB about a profile being a fake and clicked on do I know who they are pretending to be hit button me and done.

Sometimes they delete the profile but 3 times they wrote back saying that the profile is not breaking any rules. I would write back asking "so it's ok to use other people photos to scam females", never a response from FB. Then last week I reported 6 more. 4 got deleted and same dumb response on the other two. Yesterday I reported 3 then that night my account said block due to my profile being fake. So I am thinking the ** from Kenna reported my account and without even calling me, writing me or noticing that I have a lot of family on my friends list with same last name or bother to ask anyone of my friends and compared to the fake profile that I seen. They had 1 or 2 friends and no info.

The thing that pisses me off was they were so fast to block my account and even after I hit "if this is a mistake. Click here" giving me this garbage about wanting an ID that I never seen in the guide lines. So I played their dumb game and then some. I sent a copy of my VA ID since I do not have a civilian one yet but it has my pic and birth date. I then sent a photo of me holding yesterday's date and time and wrote "let's see the fake profile do that". I have heard nothing from them and when I do it seems like it's a pre written letter not even answering any of my questions.

I have some friends trying to write me through messenger. I can see the message but can't respond. The other reason I am upset is I broke my external hard drive. Too expensive to do a data recovery and guess where all my military and both deployments photos are. Yup on freakin FB. If they permanently delete my account those photos are lost forever and I can't even ask one of my battle buddies to send me some because I always talked to them on F. Good lesson learned. Don't keep all info on just one website or write down their info.

I don't know what to do. I even tried to open a new account and got as far as looking on my mothers friends list to send a message to my GF telling her what happened. Then 5 min later it's asking me to send them an ID again. The hell with that. Someone needs to make a better website and put FB out of business like they did to MySpace. FB also needs a better help or customer service. One that does not sound like a robot sending you replies. I also find it hard to believe they can't tell if a profile is fake or not. Take me for instance. When it comes to computers I suck! But I was still able to get an app and found out where that profile was sending emails from and sure enough it was from Kenna. So Zuckerman or whatever his name is making all that damn money but doing nothing to solve this problem.

My contract with Facebook per their Terms of Service is that they store my data in a manner in which I can retrieve it via FB export at any time, and use that data for their advertising purposes, in exchange for my using my "real name" aka the one by which friends and family know me on their service. I have lived up to my end of the contract, and Facebook has failed theirs -- shutting me off from access to their servers, and the data I have stored on them, and refusing to even discuss the matter with them until I upload photo ID's (this is NOWHERE required in the terms of service, and they have offered no justification for why their allegation that I am fake is even remotely realistic.)

Unfortunately, their fake name reporting system is open to tremendous abuse, allowing people to perpetrate harassment and bullying on other users like me, without accountability. Anyone can falsely report any target they don't like, as fake -- even targets like myself whose profile photo shows the same piece of architecture as the #1 google search result for my facebook name shows -- and never be held to account for their bullying of others.

It is well documented since 2010 in gawker, the New York Times, Forbes, Wired Magazine, the Electronic Frontier Foundation's website, and many individuals' blogs and personal news columns, that there is no disincentive for cowardly bullies to use this as a mechanism for harassing or shutting up others whose views they disagree with. Any bully can do this, as a coward, knowing that they will not be identified to their victim. Victims have included Indian feminists, a whole pile of gays/transvestites, lawyers posting comments online defending Israel, and people like me who just explained in reply to a friend's rant against Hillary on their wall, why Donald Trump is no less corrupt than Hillary.

Before I knew it, I was being told that because I was posting from outside the US I couldn't vote and therefore didn't deserve to have an opinion on it. I countered explaining that running a country isn't like running a business with generous US bankruptcy provisions that Trump has availed himself off repeatedly to get out of trouble when his latest great idea failed, leaving a trail of unpaid and underpaid suppliers and contractors, with families to feed, in his wake. If you screw up, you don't get a do-over. Because no one could attack the truth of what I said about Trump, they chose to attack me instead. Within 24 hours, my account was deactivated as fake, and FB demanded that I send ID to get it back, and said that they wouldn't even discuss the issue unless I gave up my privacy in that way.

Someone LIED about me. Basically, they lied by falsely claiming I was lying. Why is it any worse for me to allegedly have lied (which I did not), than for them to have ACTUALLY lied (reporting me as a fake name, when they're a friend of a friend of a friend who saw a post, and therefore are not going to know me in real life *anyway*... especially if the idiot googled me, and search result #1 matched my profile photo)? I don't understand why Facebook lets them even get away with it!

I have been stalked. I have had an employer so upset that I planned to join a competitor that could have caused them serious business trouble, which was not against my employment contract, that they started scotching my job opportunities and I had to flee the country to get work in my field. I have been a violent crime victim on more than one occasion. I have been a suicide risk because of violence perpetrated against me that caused permanent injury, and use Facebook as a *v-i-t-a-l* source of social support. More than once, friends on Facebook reached out to me and gave me a safe place to spend the night, to try to keep me safe, when I complained about it happening again. And I am SO not letting Facebook tag my ID with this sensitive information!

Here's the deal with giving up ID, even if I block out serial numbers. There's absolutely no way I can do this and preserve my privacy. Every single thing they say I can use to prove that name is mine, also gives them information they did not have about me before, beyond my name (which, they already have, and in the NINE YEARS my account has existed, they never questioned until a political bully came on the scene and made trouble, for me):

I must give Facebook my photo. Nowhere have I agreed to do this. I have poor looks, partly due to disfigurement from domestic violence years ago, and partly due to bad genes. When people see a woman who's a 1 on the 10-scale, we're immediately discredited, ignored, or (worse) made the butt end of rude remarks. I've got no desire to give a company not paying me considerable money or a government giving me a privilege like driving, access to my poor-looking photo.

If I give up my passport, I give up my citizenship info to them. Nowhere have I agreed to do this, and nowhere in the Facebook Terms of Service is it required. If I give up my licence, I give up my residency info to them. Again, nowhere have I agreed to do this. If I give up employer ID, I give up my employer's name and possibly my work location. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up student ID, I give up my school and possibly my living location. Again, not required by the ToS.

If I give up birth certificate, I give up city, state, province and country of birth. Again, not required by the ToS, and usable for racial or ethnic profiling. If I give up marriage certificate, I give up location of marriage and THAT I am either currently married or have been married in the past. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up union card, I give up profession and some amount of information on my location. Again, not required by the ToS.

If I give up medical records (yes, they offer this as a way one can prove ID), I give up my doctor and their location, and thus my own location as well as the location of my medical records. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up club memberships, I give up various business associations that can be used to profile me. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up my bank statement (yes, this is another way they kindly offer to let you prove ID), I give up my bank's name (great for fishin') and the location of at least one of my financial accounts. Again, not required by the ToS.

And all of the above is in addition to the fact that their ToS explicitly says that my "real name" that "friends and family know me by" DOES NOT HAVE TO BE my legal name. Whether it is, or it is not, isn't relevant, and therefore most of the above documents are likewise irrelevant in addition to it being an invasion of privacy for FB to request them. It suffices that I am identified by the identical name on the 10+ year old gmail account that I used to sign on to Facebook with, that email account is used for posts around the web with my name attached, if friends are going to refer to me by name, that's the name they use (and I have no living family left, so that's out), and it's in the newspaper as well.

When the gays/transvestites ran afoul of this policy in great numbers a couple years ago, they were able to get enough media attention that someone named Chris ** (interesting non(?) pseudonym there, in context) posted a public apology to its users and said that they were doing better with validating these fake name accusations and coming up with a more caring support team response to them that helps people get back on. I've seen coverage in 2015 of a page that lets a victim opt in to various categories such as stalking victim, to get exception to fake name reporting harassment -- but no such page has been presented to me at any time.

Because I've been a suicide risk in the past, and my FB friends know I am completely alone in the world, many are understandably quite concerned about me, and I've got no way to even contact them. We all live all around the world, making phones not the best contact mechanism, and many are not email/keyboard people just Facebook phone people. So FB having incorrectly banned me as fake is hurting me, by cutting me off from this contact, *and* hurting others who are worried about me and have no idea why I disappeared without a word, possibly dead for all they know. All because some Fundy Christian who supports the guns-and-embryos-rights party at the expense of living humans' rights didn't like that I stood up for the next *female* President of the United States. Kindest possible regards under the circumstances, The Unnamed.

Facebook suspended my account for 30 days literally, over nothing. I am an editor, not an admin, on a confederate flag page. The page has been opened since June 2015... The page has used the same profile picture since day 1, a short burly little man carrying the Confederate flag draped over his shoulder. He is best known as "Johnny Rebel." I've seen that little guy posted everywhere, over Facebook, and nobody with a sane mind can agree that he is not offensive to anyone. Like I mentioned, he has been the profile picture for over 13 months.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, I got a notification that Facebook removed it after 13 months and suspended my account. I wasn't even the person who originally posted the picture. They have it set up so that you can't contact them. They do not have a customer service number, no hotline for help, no appeal process, they somehow, whether it be a person or an automated bot, they disabled my account with no recourse. (For your viewing pleasure, I believe I have uploaded the picture to this review, see below.)

If the picture was offensive, or if I was the one who posted, I could understand some sort of punishment, but I feel that I am being treated unfairly. If it was a ** power fist, would I have been treated the same? You be the judge, because one is not allowed to ask anybody at Facebook the same question. If they didn't hold the monopoly on that forum, I would use another product, but there is only one Facebook, and they know that, the greedy liberal bastards.

I am writing this review because I think others should (READ) this before opening a account on Facebook! Facebook closed my account on July 4th. Right in time for holidays. I was kinda expecting them to do this!! This is about the third account I opened on Facebook and probably last as they are not a fair Company! I have a three say four negative encounters where they lock my account coincidentally before holidays or after I have gathered a decent amount of friends and likes!! And their reasoning for holding my account hostage is ridiculous.

First of all they have people continually hacking accounts and do nothing. They have cults and photos exposing violence and those people can hold accounts. One time I met a friend on Facebook. He had a normal profile so I thought no harm. They next minute he changed his profile photo and put a horrible violent one. It was one of a face that was bloody and smashed in. I was scared and shocked, then when I told Facebook they just ignored this!! Why does their Government not take control of this site and shut it down!

Second they closed my account without warning and won't allow me into my own account demanding I send ID, which I will not be doing. They are allowing cults to firm online who enjoy posting very violent photos. And with regards to accounts and profile and ID they are just collecting everyone's information and probably selling it to them sane scammed cults on Facebook. Why is nobody saying anything, doing anything? Honestly I don't get it. Lastly I know for a fact they spy and listen in to messages and contacts whatever you do online, there is zero privacy. They are stalking you while you are on their Accounts! Be careful what you say and do?

So my experience is that I am one Facebook with your B/S. I am definitely not opening another account. It is too time consuming!! And definitely not sending you any ID, I mean what gives you then right !! You bother your Account holders for ridiculous reasons. And stop listening into people's business!! Another thing. If you are not in your account after a few hours, they do their same thing such as close the account, hold it hostage, and won't let you in. Good luck Facebook. I am done with your nonsense. Eventually users will get tired of your B/S and stop using their accounts. Someone needs to regulate your account to see exactly what you are doing. I'm done with Facebook!!

I have been using Facebook for approximately 8 years. During that time, I have developed a relationship with many people, I created a private group for my family and created many pages dedicated to political issues. I am retired and disabled, so I spend a lot of time on my computer. I am grateful for your product and I do enjoy the convenience it has provide me in maintaining communications with those people.

I live in Florida and I am a Democrat. I have been politically involved for quite a while. I worked on John Kerry’s senatorial campaigns in MA. We lived in Marblehead and managed his campaign for that area. I have continued my involvement on Facebook by creating pages and groups. Like many, many other users, my groups and pages are politically designed to spread information, encourage debate and provide a place for like-minded people to share our thoughts. One such page I created was called “Impeach Rick Scott”. I named it that way because the only way to remove Rick Scott as Governor would be to impeach him. On that page I am not kind to the things Rick Scott has done. Whether it was to rail against his short-sightedness in turning down high-speed rail, or in his misguided decision to lay off the scientists that worked to keep Florida’s waterways and beaches in good condition.

I am from Boston MA, well educated, and have an extensive vocabulary. Many of the things I railed against in my Impeach Rick Scott page, are the same kinds of things our Founding Fathers railed against. You can imagine my surprise when I opened Facebook to the Impeach Rick Scott page to find out that Facebook unpublished my page. They did not provide an example of a post that I made that was determined to be offensive, or what, specifically, I did to provoke such an uncalled for act. I appealed the decision and Facebook deleted my page and blocked me and my wife from posting for a month.

Of course, I was admonished to remove the offending content, but that was impossible to do because Facebook DID NOT tell me what I posted that was offensive! My page was tame compared to some of the Right Wing extremism I have seen on Facebook. Without a reason, I can only conclude that you are either practicing political censorship or are using faulty algorithms, both of which I find particularly abhorrent. As an engineer who also worked with software testing, I must assume that you resort to using algorithms to do the dirty work of deciding who gets blocked and who doesn’t.

With around a billion users, the manpower to review each complaint would be far too great to maintain and make a profit. So I must believe that I am the victim of an aberrant algorithm that keyed in on some word I used. Or perhaps the algorithm takes into account how many people complain about my page. Which, of course, is a method some trolls use to control the medium and the message if they deem it bad for themselves. I have never made a threat against an individual, public or private. I understand my pointing out the horrendous things Rick Scott does may be perceived by them as a threat, but that is what free speech is all about. Which all brings me to this point.

I believe you are violating the First Amendment. You may think that because you are running a private company you are not, but that belief is on tenuous grounds. We all know that the First Amendment’s right to freedom of speech in an obviously public arena is guaranteed. What is not so obvious is our guarantee of those same rights in a private arena. I understand you may think Facebook is a private arena, and, therefore, free speech is not guaranteed, but I believe you would be wrong in the absoluteness of that belief. For example, in many states, freedom of speech has been granted to places where the public meet but are on privately owned sites. NJ is one such state.

People in a privately owned shopping mall have the right to free speech. Facebook is one of, if not, the largest mall where the public speak. You have stated you have a billion users. Taking away their First Amendment Rights of free speech is a horrendous act. I believe, if tested in court, you would lose the ability to censor that speech based on your company’s algorithms. I believe Facebook would be deemed a public place where Free Speech is guaranteed. I am hoping it does not come to going to a court to establish that. I am hoping you will see the error of trying to use an algorithm to decide who gets the ability to talk, and who doesn’t.

An algorithm that allows people to “gang up” on others to silence their speech goes against the very foundation of what our Founding Fathers believed. All that does is allow gangs of people to bully others who don’t agree with their point of view. But what is really of interest, is the fact that I had this page up for many, many years with no problems from Facebook. It was only after the page started to get noticed and was on an accelerated curve of growth that this happened. My posts were getting shared 50-70 times and were getting seen by thousands of people. So much so that I was going to start advertising for that page. It seems like someone thought I was getting too big and wanted to censor my page.

You have allowed users to block people. That is what people can do in the real world. They can walk away and ignore other people’s free speech. For example, I can ignore a White Supremacist’s hate speech but they have the right to make that speech in this Country, as much as we all may hate it. If people can just choose not to read what other people write, why would you also let people gang up and mass report a user to get that user blocked or prohibited from posting or have their pages deleted? You have needlessly insinuated your misguided “protections”. They are not needed and are harmful.

I am asking you to restore my Page “Impeach Rick Scott” and restore my wife’s and mine ability to post. We have come to rely on Facebook for communication with our Family and you have arbitrarily blocked that. Your arbitrary algorithm that induced blocking me and my wife has taken away our ability to post pictures I took of the fireworks to my relatives around the Country. But far worse, your algorithms have made me a victim of gang reporting, just because a politician and his Facebook minions don’t like what I am saying about the stupid things he does.

I suppose I could set up a web page to do my expose of Rick Scott. I know how to do these things. In fact, I’ll bet there are a few pages devoted to the unfairness inherent in the way you use algorithms to block people. But I’m hoping you will be reasonable. I have spent years cultivating and growing the Impeach Rick Scott page. To have your algorithms throw away all that time and effort has cost me in my blood, sweat and tears. In one instant, you have destroyed my business. I’m hoping, as an American Citizen, you understand the depth of responsibility you have to maintain the principles and ideals our founding Fathers set forth for us. The one thing I have is unbounding faith in us to do the right thing, or, at least some of us. For those that don’t, we need a voice to hold them accountable. I consider myself that voice for Rick Scott. I really hope I don’t have to be that voice for Facebook.

I took screenshots of "we are still reviewing your documents" crap and "you account is not disabled" crap. Facebook has been an effective tool for me to reconnect to old friends. It's awesome to be able to see your high school friends or people I've met decades ago, or see how my past girlfriends are doing, catch up with relatives abroad. Everyone seems so accessible since Facebook. I also use Facebook to dump my photos, making it an effective back up tool in case my storage devices get corrupted or stolen or whatever. Facebook also gives me the rest I need whenever I need a break from work, great source for inspirational and stupidly funny stuff.

It has also been a great marketing tool for my band. Facebook gives data on what kinds of people are following my band. We found out that we are mostly followed by high school girls. This is crucial information because from there we shape our image and the kind of songs that we write. Since we have already identified the demographic of our market, we know now that most of our gigs should be set on weekends and not too late in the night. Also we should look for contacts from exclusive girls' schools like Assumption, St. Paul, Miriam College, etc.

I enjoy the Facebook as it allows everyone who has access to express themselves in a multitude of ways possible. It is a social platform after all, albeit in the virtual world. It's very much like the real world as well, which means having to sift through a lot of rubbish amongst some good stuff, too. However, what I don't like about it is its continued stance of parading itself as a neutral ground, like with its internet.org project. It claims to be net neutral, when in fact it clearly is the opposite. The internet.org project 'aims' to provide free access to two-thirds (?!?) of the world's population on the internet. But then the Facebook would be the provider of this platform, isn't it? Meaning they would be the gatekeeper of tons of information that the people they will allow access to will input.

That's hardly neutral. You will have totally noticed by now that the Facebook uses very powerful algorithms to be able to push profile-based ads, pages, etc. in your screen. It also allows for easier search for connectivity, meaning the chances of stalking/admiring skills are greatly enhanced, whichever way you want to put it. Endless streams of user data are turned into information used for their bottom line, profit. Of course it's free, but as an all-encompassing experience, it deceives you going through the motions and possibly the subconscious. Take for example me when I started liking music bands and all and a lot of other groups were 'pushed' by the Facebook to my consciousness. I am now constantly at a lookout for the next great band to come out with the type of music 'cultivated' in me by Facebook and among other platforms of similar agenda. This is precisely the stuff your mum reminded you about when you were a kid. And trust me, it's not fun.

I've been using Facebook for years. It's a fun way to keep in touch with family and friends. It's also a nice way to meet new acquaintances through public groups. However, I'm not a fan of their autoplay of videos. Usually as you scroll down, videos posted by your contacts, groups or liked pages autoplay at a certain point when you scroll down. This feature annoys me especially when my internet is slow. When internet is slow, these vids doesn't help in loading the whole page and sometimes it slows down the computer's performance.

Also, I'm quite annoyed at the fact that Facebook changes its user interface quite often or at least more often that I would've wanted it. Because for me, usually I don't have problem with the interface, then they'd do stuff, launch the new interface and it would confuse me. I thought to myself why fix something that's not broken. Well I guess that's why they call innovation. Haha. Oh yeah, before I forget, could Facebook have a feature in their newsfeed similar to Twitter feed where it's up to you when to let the recent content in. Also not a fan whenever it updates the newsfeed out of nowhere.

My name is Sherry **. I come to you in such frustration in regards to my Facebook account. This will make the third time after really establishing my followers and resources with Facebook and it has shut me down with no warning, with each incident no warning to the removal of my account or ability to correct a matter if there's one. They informed me this morning that I've been logged out of my account until they receive a copy of my government identity. I sent them my passport that was at around 8:30 am this morning June 12th 2016. They said I may have duplicate accounts and I may not be authentic. I have my business ties, my family roots there. In fact just made a event page for family reunion.

Just about a 1 1/2 years ago they shut me down because my name was a business name. I lost a host of serious business allies and clients I can no longer access because I can't remember some names and they have already maxed out 5000 followers on Facebook at that time I had 2500 followers. I overlooked it and thought "Well maybe it was time for change" so I diligently rebuilt this account in compliance to 4961 followers and if I did something wrong it was due to updates or changes made by Facebook but never intentional. Yet here it's been just at 12 hrs since I sent my passport and no response. I want to call 7 On Your Side or ConsumerAffairs as I'm writing you now. It has become so frustrating I spent the day online trying to find solutions or help and I came across you. All I kept thinking is I want to protest because this has just gotten so out of hand but just didn't know where to start.

It took less than 2 years to almost max out my Facebook just at 5000 followers and I host many groups and I manage pages for business as well as my family roots on both sides of my family which are in 2 separate groups I established as well with memories we could never get back because of our union. We rely on this source for many reasons elders, handicap those that are confined etc. as well as my business associates and allies. Whenever Facebook feels like it wants to exercise power or authority at the hands of the community in which we are the reason they are who they are today they strike randomly with no remorse. When my second account was delete there was no warning or resolution. I was told that I cannot have a business for profile name and was not given the opportunity to rectify it. My account was closed and no follow up or further explanation was given. I was devastated.

Also when I know numerous of people that have duplicate accounts with Facebook they use their accounts just fine and they will attest to it. I believe I attempted to open an account with Facebook many years ago when they're first starting but I didn't know what I was doing and wouldn't even remember how to access the account if so. I need professional guidance and expertise of how to address the matter or even protest it. This is not acceptable any more.

Now after 5 years of use and after creating a net of contacts that know me by that name Facebook is forcing me to change it! It makes me sick to see that this company can do whatever they want! If my name wasn't good it shouldn't be accepted right from the beginning! Not now after all the work I had creating a network! The main question here is this one » should this company have the right to force someone to change something they accepted right from the beginning and during 5 years?

Some years ago Google tried to force users to use their real names but then changed their ideas and came to their senses. Facebook instead kept this stupid idea and had cases like Sister Roma, Salman Rushdie and many others! If they wanted Facebook to be a social network with only real names that should have been done right from the beginning. It's a dictatorial attitude what this company is doing without no one fighting against this! 1. accepted my name, 2. used it during 5 years. AND NOW THEY COME AND FORCE ME TO CHANGE IT???

And their support is incompetent taking hours to solve issues. The ways people have to contact and complain against this company are impossible to deal with! A bunch of automatized answers and no direct or live support! This company wants customers without having employers to give them support. They want revenues without costs! They run a business that couldn't care less about its customers and users!

Then, Facebook successfully blocked the hacking activity. And then, FB stated to me that I should change my password. Therefore, Facebook is doing a great job in handling security issues.

Plus, I'm satisfied with how Facebook has innovated. They are also having the video call feature which is good because I don't need to experience the hassle of looking for the other apps. According to this link: **, if you call someone via Facebook video call feature, you will use 333.3 kilobits of internet data per minute of call, which is the SECOND LOWEST among 10 common messenger apps that have the video call. I'm thrilled to use this because I'm on a limited data plan for my internet use. However, what I don't like in Facebook is that I am not allowed to have a tab wherein my FB acct is logged while my other tab is having my FB acct logged out. Nevertheless, I am highly recommending someone Facebook who wants to have long-distance communication using internet. #satisfied :)

I'm retired on limited income. This isn't what I expected to be doing in my golden years!!! Of my limited what Facebook is doing is holding our accounts from us until we give them what they want which is personal info that's needed to commit IDENTITY fraud. ILLEGAL!!! Twisting our arms. Bullies!!! I've never felt so violated in my entire life like I do right now with FB.

Here's how they do it. For me they used the scam of locking my account for no real reason. No one but me was in my facebook account I know this to be true. Can't say that though now since I haven't been able to get in it. Anyway, they make up a lie. You can't reach them. You can't write them. They don't offer you option of resolving this the good old fashion way. Calling and talking directly with a person is out of the question. These things I just mentioned are your red flags people!!! Next my new number off my new phone I'd had 7 weeks didn't show up as my recovery phone number. I did change it first thing the day I got my new iPhone. If that's not bad enough FB or its imposters said I had to log in from a browser I've used in past. Well that would be my broken phone I no longer have. Could be a problem. But I know I'd used my new phone at least two dozen times to log in to my facebook account.

I know for fact that 4 yrs ago, I set up two trusted friends to help me out in a jam like this. We are all still on FB. But FB or its IMPOSTERS certainly didn't remember I had set that up. Hmmm. Ok. So now what? It said to upload my ID. Interesting that this was only way I could get into my account that really I shouldn't have been locked out of. So I blacked out the things my lawyer friend told me to always black out when showing picture ID. Facebook has tons of my pictures and knows what I look like so getting my picture drivers license with my full name on that matches my account should certainly be enough. Nope. An hour later I get the first text telling me I need to let them see my birthdate!!! THAT'S WHEN THE RED FLAGS WENT UP. I sent them pic back of my DL again with month and day no year. They replied back they needed date.

I told them my attorney would contact them. I need to get an attorney and sue the pants off FB or the imposters. Or both!!! FB HOLDS YOUR PERSONAL PHOTOS (I have some very private artistic photos of myself in private albums FB now has only access to). My family member is coming to United States tomorrow I think and I've been locked out of my account and missed the details of my baby cousins 5 day trip. It's funny that my new phone number dummy pop up, but two led friends got my new number from my FB page a week before my FB PAGE HIJACKED FROM ME. This is sooo illegal. Someone stop FB.

I recently created a fan page on Facebook for my band, and my problem is that there's no way to see who has viewed or even liked our page. Seriously, are we not allowed to know? There's also no way to see who has RSVP'd an event that we created. This is not cool since as I've read from other users before, sometimes there are certain people that you want to avoid and don't want them to find out about your business. (Stalkers, crazy exes, etc.)

Should we just accept the fact that by creating a fan page, it is subject to the viewing of every single person on Facebook? That can't be right. We should at least be allowed to screen the people that view or like our page for safety reasons. I really hope that Facebook can fix this problem since from what I've read, there are many of us that have this concern. I don't want to have to create a new account from a different social media website since I'm already not a big fan of social media to begin with. I only created our band's fan page since that's the most accessible way to interact with people who might be interested in us online. Besides, everybody's on Facebook nowadays, so it's a great place to reach out to others. But it's still not cool to just let anyone see who we are. So please, give us this option and everything on Facebook will be perfect.

She's working as a nurse in the Middle East but through Facebook we can message each other each day and we get to be updated each other through the pictures we post in our FB page.

I love that Facebook also added the different reaction buttons for each post or pictures shared. In addition, they also make available different types of games. The only thing I do not like about Facebook is that it broadcasts each single posts I like or comments I add to any photos or pictures that I am not always comfortable for everyone to know or simply is not the concern of my other friends. I wish there's an option that you can keep those things for yourself. That's my only concern. Since it is very accessible to many, it is very effective in sharing information either false or real information. You only have to be wise which info you will believe. Other than that, I like that Facebook continues to grow and makes valuable updates so friends, families, and even co-workers can keep each other connected in many creative ways.

With my account this system went bonkers, it started to identify images that are perfectly fine. In my case it first started to nag me over a picture in my album that was nothing more than a certificate of authority with my name on it. Why post such things? I figured it was fine and I was proud and wanted to share this. Facebook gives you the option to certify that an image really is fine if you check on that box next to it. However this does nothing at all and with my experiences no one at Facebook actually reviews.

After a few times of this Facebook blocked my account for a few days. Then after suspended my account. While all along clicking on "report problem" with a message that again no one at Facebook reads. You can not call them or speak with some real person. I also had paid Facebook advertising going on. Once my account got suspended from them, I was not able to log in and stop the advertising. Facebook robbing me hundred of dollars in front of my face while being helpless. Ads I could no longer stop. I had to go to my bank and make a stop payment on anything Facebook. However now I am getting 4 phone calls a day from an overseas collection agency. Since Facebook as a small office in Canada even if it is just a PR one, they are bound by Canadian rules as well and I may have to take them to small claims court.

I, too, have been a Facebook user for a few years now right after Friendster disappeared in the abyss. I'm not a total fan of it, but I see the bright side of having an account with them. It is a good way to connect with family and friends, and even enemies, and people one just wants to add to his/her list. It is a very good way to let time pass – while waiting for someone or something, doing nothing, riding the long ride or whatnot, a person can scroll up and down and voila, the time has passed. I use FB for some sort of storage. I do have lots of stuff on it that I don't want the world to see so I like that there is an option to make them private, that is as far as my understanding goes. Also, I see people selling stuff on FB, and it's for free. That's great!

I'm not sure as to when the "unfollow button" came into being, but that is a very good way to avoid annoying posts from people without having to unfriend them and being branded as a **. Silly isn't? I like the new reaction buttons... though I hope they can add more to that. On Mother's Day, they added the flowery-thank-you button, but it disappeared after that... It just makes me wonder.

This is the 3rd time I have been banned from posting on Facebook. Each time it's been a political comment that supposedly violated their community standards. There was no foul language, insults or anything else in their list of violations used, but it's on a thread where I've made factual comments that have disproven many of Ms. Clinton's qualifications and accomplishments.

But this time I decided to just scan one post and reported several comments that did call people by name, racist comments, vulgar comments. One actually was a video of 2 men having sex. Another was one of multiple posts by the same woman calling people "entitled, ** boys," "rich, millennial, ignorant fools." This went on for 17 comments on this thread and all were written by Hillary Clinton supporters. I then reported several people for using the same words I used. I said a person was a troll. They were on a Bernie Sanders page stirring up trouble, off-topic posts, the definition of trolling.

You can probably guess the outcome. Of the over 40 comments I reported that used threatening, hate speech, vulgar comments, not 1 comment was found to have violated their community standards, even the people who said word for word what I was banned for. It's no surprise that this day Facebook was charged for being biased in their trending news articles. Like many other complaints say, I've asked for explanations and get nowhere. I very also tried to delete my personal info rather than just deactivate my account, but I'm unable to.

To sum things up, Facebook is a scam. They let you post comments in exchange for your personal info and if your comments don't agree with their agenda you're banned and can't get your personal info back. They've gotten too big to fight so all we can do is alert others about our experiences so they won't get trapped. Very bad situation.

I, just like most of the people in the world, use Facebook 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I use it at home, while travelling, at work, in the bathroom, practically anytime anywhere. It's a very addicting app. It has a lot of great features. But sometimes, I wanted to find a certain post from a certain person and it's hard because I had to do it manually. I need to guess who posted it and when. It's really hard. I wished they improve their search function where I can enter keywords and then it will give a list of posts - kinda like a Google search. Also, I wish it allows GIF profile pics so that it'll be a lot cooler instead of regular pictures. Also, I think it would be better if it allows video conferencing or video chat. No need to type. Just like Skype.

Recently reported an image I found disturbing. Facebook acknowledged my "anonymous" report but then shared with all my friends the image and that I had "commented" on the image. This was a breach of confidentiality and counter to the intention that no one else, friend or otherwise, should have this image inflicted upon them.
