My contract with Facebook per their Terms of Service is that they store my data in a manner in which I can retrieve it via FB export at any time, and use that data for their advertising purposes, in exchange for my using my "real name" aka the one by which friends and family know me on their service. I have lived up to my end of the contract, and Facebook has failed theirs -- shutting me off from access to their servers, and the data I have stored on them, and refusing to even discuss the matter with them until I upload photo ID's (this is NOWHERE required in the terms of service, and they have offered no justification for why their allegation that I am fake is even remotely realistic.)

Unfortunately, their fake name reporting system is open to tremendous abuse, allowing people to perpetrate harassment and bullying on other users like me, without accountability. Anyone can falsely report any target they don't like, as fake -- even targets like myself whose profile photo shows the same piece of architecture as the #1 google search result for my facebook name shows -- and never be held to account for their bullying of others.

It is well documented since 2010 in gawker, the New York Times, Forbes, Wired Magazine, the Electronic Frontier Foundation's website, and many individuals' blogs and personal news columns, that there is no disincentive for cowardly bullies to use this as a mechanism for harassing or shutting up others whose views they disagree with. Any bully can do this, as a coward, knowing that they will not be identified to their victim. Victims have included Indian feminists, a whole pile of gays/transvestites, lawyers posting comments online defending Israel, and people like me who just explained in reply to a friend's rant against Hillary on their wall, why Donald Trump is no less corrupt than Hillary.

Before I knew it, I was being told that because I was posting from outside the US I couldn't vote and therefore didn't deserve to have an opinion on it. I countered explaining that running a country isn't like running a business with generous US bankruptcy provisions that Trump has availed himself off repeatedly to get out of trouble when his latest great idea failed, leaving a trail of unpaid and underpaid suppliers and contractors, with families to feed, in his wake. If you screw up, you don't get a do-over. Because no one could attack the truth of what I said about Trump, they chose to attack me instead. Within 24 hours, my account was deactivated as fake, and FB demanded that I send ID to get it back, and said that they wouldn't even discuss the issue unless I gave up my privacy in that way.

Someone LIED about me. Basically, they lied by falsely claiming I was lying. Why is it any worse for me to allegedly have lied (which I did not), than for them to have ACTUALLY lied (reporting me as a fake name, when they're a friend of a friend of a friend who saw a post, and therefore are not going to know me in real life *anyway*... especially if the idiot googled me, and search result #1 matched my profile photo)? I don't understand why Facebook lets them even get away with it!

I have been stalked. I have had an employer so upset that I planned to join a competitor that could have caused them serious business trouble, which was not against my employment contract, that they started scotching my job opportunities and I had to flee the country to get work in my field. I have been a violent crime victim on more than one occasion. I have been a suicide risk because of violence perpetrated against me that caused permanent injury, and use Facebook as a *v-i-t-a-l* source of social support. More than once, friends on Facebook reached out to me and gave me a safe place to spend the night, to try to keep me safe, when I complained about it happening again. And I am SO not letting Facebook tag my ID with this sensitive information!

Here's the deal with giving up ID, even if I block out serial numbers. There's absolutely no way I can do this and preserve my privacy. Every single thing they say I can use to prove that name is mine, also gives them information they did not have about me before, beyond my name (which, they already have, and in the NINE YEARS my account has existed, they never questioned until a political bully came on the scene and made trouble, for me):

I must give Facebook my photo. Nowhere have I agreed to do this. I have poor looks, partly due to disfigurement from domestic violence years ago, and partly due to bad genes. When people see a woman who's a 1 on the 10-scale, we're immediately discredited, ignored, or (worse) made the butt end of rude remarks. I've got no desire to give a company not paying me considerable money or a government giving me a privilege like driving, access to my poor-looking photo.

If I give up my passport, I give up my citizenship info to them. Nowhere have I agreed to do this, and nowhere in the Facebook Terms of Service is it required. If I give up my licence, I give up my residency info to them. Again, nowhere have I agreed to do this. If I give up employer ID, I give up my employer's name and possibly my work location. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up student ID, I give up my school and possibly my living location. Again, not required by the ToS.

If I give up birth certificate, I give up city, state, province and country of birth. Again, not required by the ToS, and usable for racial or ethnic profiling. If I give up marriage certificate, I give up location of marriage and THAT I am either currently married or have been married in the past. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up union card, I give up profession and some amount of information on my location. Again, not required by the ToS.

If I give up medical records (yes, they offer this as a way one can prove ID), I give up my doctor and their location, and thus my own location as well as the location of my medical records. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up club memberships, I give up various business associations that can be used to profile me. Again, not required by the ToS. If I give up my bank statement (yes, this is another way they kindly offer to let you prove ID), I give up my bank's name (great for fishin') and the location of at least one of my financial accounts. Again, not required by the ToS.

And all of the above is in addition to the fact that their ToS explicitly says that my "real name" that "friends and family know me by" DOES NOT HAVE TO BE my legal name. Whether it is, or it is not, isn't relevant, and therefore most of the above documents are likewise irrelevant in addition to it being an invasion of privacy for FB to request them. It suffices that I am identified by the identical name on the 10+ year old gmail account that I used to sign on to Facebook with, that email account is used for posts around the web with my name attached, if friends are going to refer to me by name, that's the name they use (and I have no living family left, so that's out), and it's in the newspaper as well.

When the gays/transvestites ran afoul of this policy in great numbers a couple years ago, they were able to get enough media attention that someone named Chris ** (interesting non(?) pseudonym there, in context) posted a public apology to its users and said that they were doing better with validating these fake name accusations and coming up with a more caring support team response to them that helps people get back on. I've seen coverage in 2015 of a page that lets a victim opt in to various categories such as stalking victim, to get exception to fake name reporting harassment -- but no such page has been presented to me at any time.

Because I've been a suicide risk in the past, and my FB friends know I am completely alone in the world, many are understandably quite concerned about me, and I've got no way to even contact them. We all live all around the world, making phones not the best contact mechanism, and many are not email/keyboard people just Facebook phone people. So FB having incorrectly banned me as fake is hurting me, by cutting me off from this contact, *and* hurting others who are worried about me and have no idea why I disappeared without a word, possibly dead for all they know. All because some Fundy Christian who supports the guns-and-embryos-rights party at the expense of living humans' rights didn't like that I stood up for the next *female* President of the United States. Kindest possible regards under the circumstances, The Unnamed.

First and foremost I have had my account for years with Facebook and has used my real name, I continued to get notification that my name was not authentic, however I am a firefighter and I have used my real name besides when I got married I changed it and when I got a divorce I changed it back to my real name with Novelist in the front of it. I thought this was my username with my personal information in my setting. Facebook then starts to ask for personal information such as personal ID with personal address blacken out I guess. I thought this was a scam. My personal phone number is on facebook. They could have gotten in touch with me that way because I refuse to send my personal id to social media.

All I talk about on facebook is Love, Police brutality and more love and how we should all be together as one. I am also a self publish author. My book was publish in 2008. I might have sold 3 books whoopee and now I have another book coming out also self publish. Nothing big. I don't have a contract or anything so is this why my Facebook page is being closed. So I did some investigation myself and found other friends who are writers and are using Author and Novelist and their Facebook account hasn't been shut down. I also posted a love video for my boyfriend birthday with pictures that was already on facebook that received over 500 views that was a first, was it that I'm so confused as to why I was shut down. Dee of McDonough I'm ready. Also on this site I have read people who sent their driver's license to Facebook their page is still shut down so I'm still confused. Again Facebook I'm confused as to why you shut me down.

I was furious that I was locked out of my account, which I'd had for years. I used my real name and they demanded photo ID to get back in. I do not HAVE any photo ID, I have never driven a car and had a passport. They would not accept my usual ID and so I lost all my contacts, my photos and everything. I am absolutely furious!

I was hacked approx. 2 yrs ago while I was in the hospital. Then whomever hacked my account began to cyber stalk me. First they changed my user name and passwords so I couldn't access my account. I had to create several accounts due to this & then they would write derogatory things about me on my own page as if I was saying these things about myself. They would email women making it look like I was cheating on my wife when I never have.

Now I finally got an account that wasn't hacked and Facebook keeps suspending it for overposting. It has been suspended 4 times in as many months and they are now saying that they have to investigate my account to see if it can remain open. I have tried in vain to contact Facebook to let them know many times and nothing. They allowed a hacker to remain on my account for many many months with no action on their behalf to remove them yet they suspend me for not being familiar with all the terms and conditions. Dee of Mcdonough GA I would be more than willing to join you in a class action lawsuit suit.

I have been using Facebook for 10 plus years. I did not use it for 1-2 years, did not have a computer during that time period. When I went back on it I wanted to access my original account. I jumped through their hoops, even sent a photo of my driver's license with the information they wanted. No way to call them. Very difficult to get assistance.

Facebook suspended my account for 30 days literally, over nothing. I am an editor, not an admin, on a confederate flag page. The page has been opened since June 2015... The page has used the same profile picture since day 1, a short burly little man carrying the Confederate flag draped over his shoulder. He is best known as "Johnny Rebel." I've seen that little guy posted everywhere, over Facebook, and nobody with a sane mind can agree that he is not offensive to anyone. Like I mentioned, he has been the profile picture for over 13 months.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, I got a notification that Facebook removed it after 13 months and suspended my account. I wasn't even the person who originally posted the picture. They have it set up so that you can't contact them. They do not have a customer service number, no hotline for help, no appeal process, they somehow, whether it be a person or an automated bot, they disabled my account with no recourse. (For your viewing pleasure, I believe I have uploaded the picture to this review, see below.)

If the picture was offensive, or if I was the one who posted, I could understand some sort of punishment, but I feel that I am being treated unfairly. If it was a ** power fist, would I have been treated the same? You be the judge, because one is not allowed to ask anybody at Facebook the same question. If they didn't hold the monopoly on that forum, I would use another product, but there is only one Facebook, and they know that, the greedy liberal bastards.

I am writing this review because I think others should (READ) this before opening a account on Facebook! Facebook closed my account on July 4th. Right in time for holidays. I was kinda expecting them to do this!! This is about the third account I opened on Facebook and probably last as they are not a fair Company! I have a three say four negative encounters where they lock my account coincidentally before holidays or after I have gathered a decent amount of friends and likes!! And their reasoning for holding my account hostage is ridiculous.

First of all they have people continually hacking accounts and do nothing. They have cults and photos exposing violence and those people can hold accounts. One time I met a friend on Facebook. He had a normal profile so I thought no harm. They next minute he changed his profile photo and put a horrible violent one. It was one of a face that was bloody and smashed in. I was scared and shocked, then when I told Facebook they just ignored this!! Why does their Government not take control of this site and shut it down!

Second they closed my account without warning and won't allow me into my own account demanding I send ID, which I will not be doing. They are allowing cults to firm online who enjoy posting very violent photos. And with regards to accounts and profile and ID they are just collecting everyone's information and probably selling it to them sane scammed cults on Facebook. Why is nobody saying anything, doing anything? Honestly I don't get it. Lastly I know for a fact they spy and listen in to messages and contacts whatever you do online, there is zero privacy. They are stalking you while you are on their Accounts! Be careful what you say and do?

So my experience is that I am one Facebook with your B/S. I am definitely not opening another account. It is too time consuming!! And definitely not sending you any ID, I mean what gives you then right !! You bother your Account holders for ridiculous reasons. And stop listening into people's business!! Another thing. If you are not in your account after a few hours, they do their same thing such as close the account, hold it hostage, and won't let you in. Good luck Facebook. I am done with your nonsense. Eventually users will get tired of your B/S and stop using their accounts. Someone needs to regulate your account to see exactly what you are doing. I'm done with Facebook!!

I have been using Facebook for approximately 8 years. During that time, I have developed a relationship with many people, I created a private group for my family and created many pages dedicated to political issues. I am retired and disabled, so I spend a lot of time on my computer. I am grateful for your product and I do enjoy the convenience it has provide me in maintaining communications with those people.

I live in Florida and I am a Democrat. I have been politically involved for quite a while. I worked on John Kerry’s senatorial campaigns in MA. We lived in Marblehead and managed his campaign for that area. I have continued my involvement on Facebook by creating pages and groups. Like many, many other users, my groups and pages are politically designed to spread information, encourage debate and provide a place for like-minded people to share our thoughts. One such page I created was called “Impeach Rick Scott”. I named it that way because the only way to remove Rick Scott as Governor would be to impeach him. On that page I am not kind to the things Rick Scott has done. Whether it was to rail against his short-sightedness in turning down high-speed rail, or in his misguided decision to lay off the scientists that worked to keep Florida’s waterways and beaches in good condition.

I am from Boston MA, well educated, and have an extensive vocabulary. Many of the things I railed against in my Impeach Rick Scott page, are the same kinds of things our Founding Fathers railed against. You can imagine my surprise when I opened Facebook to the Impeach Rick Scott page to find out that Facebook unpublished my page. They did not provide an example of a post that I made that was determined to be offensive, or what, specifically, I did to provoke such an uncalled for act. I appealed the decision and Facebook deleted my page and blocked me and my wife from posting for a month.

Of course, I was admonished to remove the offending content, but that was impossible to do because Facebook DID NOT tell me what I posted that was offensive! My page was tame compared to some of the Right Wing extremism I have seen on Facebook. Without a reason, I can only conclude that you are either practicing political censorship or are using faulty algorithms, both of which I find particularly abhorrent. As an engineer who also worked with software testing, I must assume that you resort to using algorithms to do the dirty work of deciding who gets blocked and who doesn’t.

With around a billion users, the manpower to review each complaint would be far too great to maintain and make a profit. So I must believe that I am the victim of an aberrant algorithm that keyed in on some word I used. Or perhaps the algorithm takes into account how many people complain about my page. Which, of course, is a method some trolls use to control the medium and the message if they deem it bad for themselves. I have never made a threat against an individual, public or private. I understand my pointing out the horrendous things Rick Scott does may be perceived by them as a threat, but that is what free speech is all about. Which all brings me to this point.

I believe you are violating the First Amendment. You may think that because you are running a private company you are not, but that belief is on tenuous grounds. We all know that the First Amendment’s right to freedom of speech in an obviously public arena is guaranteed. What is not so obvious is our guarantee of those same rights in a private arena. I understand you may think Facebook is a private arena, and, therefore, free speech is not guaranteed, but I believe you would be wrong in the absoluteness of that belief. For example, in many states, freedom of speech has been granted to places where the public meet but are on privately owned sites. NJ is one such state.

People in a privately owned shopping mall have the right to free speech. Facebook is one of, if not, the largest mall where the public speak. You have stated you have a billion users. Taking away their First Amendment Rights of free speech is a horrendous act. I believe, if tested in court, you would lose the ability to censor that speech based on your company’s algorithms. I believe Facebook would be deemed a public place where Free Speech is guaranteed. I am hoping it does not come to going to a court to establish that. I am hoping you will see the error of trying to use an algorithm to decide who gets the ability to talk, and who doesn’t.

An algorithm that allows people to “gang up” on others to silence their speech goes against the very foundation of what our Founding Fathers believed. All that does is allow gangs of people to bully others who don’t agree with their point of view. But what is really of interest, is the fact that I had this page up for many, many years with no problems from Facebook. It was only after the page started to get noticed and was on an accelerated curve of growth that this happened. My posts were getting shared 50-70 times and were getting seen by thousands of people. So much so that I was going to start advertising for that page. It seems like someone thought I was getting too big and wanted to censor my page.

You have allowed users to block people. That is what people can do in the real world. They can walk away and ignore other people’s free speech. For example, I can ignore a White Supremacist’s hate speech but they have the right to make that speech in this Country, as much as we all may hate it. If people can just choose not to read what other people write, why would you also let people gang up and mass report a user to get that user blocked or prohibited from posting or have their pages deleted? You have needlessly insinuated your misguided “protections”. They are not needed and are harmful.

I am asking you to restore my Page “Impeach Rick Scott” and restore my wife’s and mine ability to post. We have come to rely on Facebook for communication with our Family and you have arbitrarily blocked that. Your arbitrary algorithm that induced blocking me and my wife has taken away our ability to post pictures I took of the fireworks to my relatives around the Country. But far worse, your algorithms have made me a victim of gang reporting, just because a politician and his Facebook minions don’t like what I am saying about the stupid things he does.

I suppose I could set up a web page to do my expose of Rick Scott. I know how to do these things. In fact, I’ll bet there are a few pages devoted to the unfairness inherent in the way you use algorithms to block people. But I’m hoping you will be reasonable. I have spent years cultivating and growing the Impeach Rick Scott page. To have your algorithms throw away all that time and effort has cost me in my blood, sweat and tears. In one instant, you have destroyed my business. I’m hoping, as an American Citizen, you understand the depth of responsibility you have to maintain the principles and ideals our founding Fathers set forth for us. The one thing I have is unbounding faith in us to do the right thing, or, at least some of us. For those that don’t, we need a voice to hold them accountable. I consider myself that voice for Rick Scott. I really hope I don’t have to be that voice for Facebook.

Facebook has been an effective tool for me to reconnect to old friends. It's awesome to be able to see your high school friends or people I've met decades ago, or see how my past girlfriends are doing, catch up with relatives abroad. Everyone seems so accessible since Facebook. I also use Facebook to dump my photos, making it an effective back up tool in case my storage devices get corrupted or stolen or whatever. Facebook also gives me the rest I need whenever I need a break from work, great source for inspirational and stupidly funny stuff.

It has also been a great marketing tool for my band. Facebook gives data on what kinds of people are following my band. We found out that we are mostly followed by high school girls. This is crucial information because from there we shape our image and the kind of songs that we write. Since we have already identified the demographic of our market, we know now that most of our gigs should be set on weekends and not too late in the night. Also we should look for contacts from exclusive girls' schools like Assumption, St. Paul, Miriam College, etc.

I enjoy the Facebook as it allows everyone who has access to express themselves in a multitude of ways possible. It is a social platform after all, albeit in the virtual world. It's very much like the real world as well, which means having to sift through a lot of rubbish amongst some good stuff, too. However, what I don't like about it is its continued stance of parading itself as a neutral ground, like with its internet.org project. It claims to be net neutral, when in fact it clearly is the opposite. The internet.org project 'aims' to provide free access to two-thirds (?!?) of the world's population on the internet. But then the Facebook would be the provider of this platform, isn't it? Meaning they would be the gatekeeper of tons of information that the people they will allow access to will input.

That's hardly neutral. You will have totally noticed by now that the Facebook uses very powerful algorithms to be able to push profile-based ads, pages, etc. in your screen. It also allows for easier search for connectivity, meaning the chances of stalking/admiring skills are greatly enhanced, whichever way you want to put it. Endless streams of user data are turned into information used for their bottom line, profit. Of course it's free, but as an all-encompassing experience, it deceives you going through the motions and possibly the subconscious. Take for example me when I started liking music bands and all and a lot of other groups were 'pushed' by the Facebook to my consciousness. I am now constantly at a lookout for the next great band to come out with the type of music 'cultivated' in me by Facebook and among other platforms of similar agenda. This is precisely the stuff your mum reminded you about when you were a kid. And trust me, it's not fun.

I've been using Facebook for years. It's a fun way to keep in touch with family and friends. It's also a nice way to meet new acquaintances through public groups. However, I'm not a fan of their autoplay of videos. Usually as you scroll down, videos posted by your contacts, groups or liked pages autoplay at a certain point when you scroll down. This feature annoys me especially when my internet is slow. When internet is slow, these vids doesn't help in loading the whole page and sometimes it slows down the computer's performance.

Also, I'm quite annoyed at the fact that Facebook changes its user interface quite often or at least more often that I would've wanted it. Because for me, usually I don't have problem with the interface, then they'd do stuff, launch the new interface and it would confuse me. I thought to myself why fix something that's not broken. Well I guess that's why they call innovation. Haha. Oh yeah, before I forget, could Facebook have a feature in their newsfeed similar to Twitter feed where it's up to you when to let the recent content in. Also not a fan whenever it updates the newsfeed out of nowhere.

I want my group back because I followed the rules and regulations of Facebook but Facebook has deleted my page due to mistake. Please take an immediate action.

Facebook allows no contact with customer service, something I find despicable and unacceptable. I will be removing all business ads and use in the future because of this. This being said she is harassing me through my daughter's account and I do not want to block my daughter. It gives me no option to file a complaint without doing it against my daughter who is innocent. This could lead dangerous escalations and is irresponsible.

To my amazement and disgust she created a fake page under an assumed name (Troll account with no info or no friends) and has been going to my page and my friends pages to spy on me. She was able to copy my friend's name, prior to me blocking her over two years ago. She cannot see anything that I post to my page/timeline but she has/can see what I comment to on my friends pages/timelines even though she's not a friend or a friend of a friend. This is just one flaw in Facebook. Facebook is aware that many are using this site in this manner as well as for scam sales and even terrorist recruitment... My name is Sherry **. I come to you in such frustration in regards to my Facebook account. This will make the third time after really establishing my followers and resources with Facebook and it has shut me down with no warning, with each incident no warning to the removal of my account or ability to correct a matter if there's one. They informed me this morning that I've been logged out of my account until they receive a copy of my government identity. I sent them my passport that was at around 8:30 am this morning June 12th 2016. They said I may have duplicate accounts and I may not be authentic. I have my business ties, my family roots there. In fact just made a event page for family reunion.

Just about a 1 1/2 years ago they shut me down because my name was a business name. I lost a host of serious business allies and clients I can no longer access because I can't remember some names and they have already maxed out 5000 followers on Facebook at that time I had 2500 followers. I overlooked it and thought "Well maybe it was time for change" so I diligently rebuilt this account in compliance to 4961 followers and if I did something wrong it was due to updates or changes made by Facebook but never intentional. Yet here it's been just at 12 hrs since I sent my passport and no response. I want to call 7 On Your Side or ConsumerAffairs as I'm writing you now. It has become so frustrating I spent the day online trying to find solutions or help and I came across you. All I kept thinking is I want to protest because this has just gotten so out of hand but just didn't know where to start.

It took less than 2 years to almost max out my Facebook just at 5000 followers and I host many groups and I manage pages for business as well as my family roots on both sides of my family which are in 2 separate groups I established as well with memories we could never get back because of our union. We rely on this source for many reasons elders, handicap those that are confined etc. as well as my business associates and allies. Whenever Facebook feels like it wants to exercise power or authority at the hands of the community in which we are the reason they are who they are today they strike randomly with no remorse. When my second account was delete there was no warning or resolution. I was told that I cannot have a business for profile name and was not given the opportunity to rectify it. My account was closed and no follow up or further explanation was given. I was devastated.

Also when I know numerous of people that have duplicate accounts with Facebook they use their accounts just fine and they will attest to it. I believe I attempted to open an account with Facebook many years ago when they're first starting but I didn't know what I was doing and wouldn't even remember how to access the account if so. I need professional guidance and expertise of how to address the matter or even protest it. This is not acceptable any more.

After 5 years of use Facebook is forcing me to change my profile name they initially approved! I registered a Facebook account back in 2011 using a nickname and I WAS ACCEPTED! Now after 5 years of use and after creating a net of contacts that know me by that name Facebook is forcing me to change it! It makes me sick to see that this company can do whatever they want! If my name wasn't good it shouldn't be accepted right from the beginning! Not now after all the work I had creating a network! The main question here is this one » should this company have the right to force someone to change something they accepted right from the beginning and during 5 years?

Some years ago Google tried to force users to use their real names but then changed their ideas and came to their senses. Facebook instead kept this stupid idea and had cases like Sister Roma, Salman Rushdie and many others! If they wanted Facebook to be a social network with only real names that should have been done right from the beginning. It's a dictatorial attitude what this company is doing without no one fighting against this! 1. accepted my name, 2. used it during 5 years. AND NOW THEY COME AND FORCE ME TO CHANGE IT???

And their support is incompetent taking hours to solve issues. The ways people have to contact and complain against this company are impossible to deal with! A bunch of automatized answers and no direct or live support! This company wants customers without having employers to give them support. They want revenues without costs! They run a business that couldn't care less about its customers and users!

I like Facebook in many ways. First off, the security - Facebook detects who hacked someone's account. One time, Facebook detected someone who hacked my website. Then, Facebook successfully blocked the hacking activity. And then, FB stated to me that I should change my password. Therefore, Facebook is doing a great job in handling security issues.

Plus, I'm satisfied with how Facebook has innovated. They are also having the video call feature which is good because I don't need to experience the hassle of looking for the other apps. According to this link: **, if you call someone via Facebook video call feature, you will use 333.3 kilobits of internet data per minute of call, which is the SECOND LOWEST among 10 common messenger apps that have the video call. I'm thrilled to use this because I'm on a limited data plan for my internet use. However, what I don't like in Facebook is that I am not allowed to have a tab wherein my FB acct is logged while my other tab is having my FB acct logged out. Nevertheless, I am highly recommending someone Facebook who wants to have long-distance communication using internet. #satisfied :)

I've been an ongoing victim in IDENTITY fraud for the last 36 months. I know what kind of info is needed to cause me a whole lot of grief and more wasted time proving it wasn't me who owes Home Depot 10k, or that two AT&T accounts are not mine. I'm retired on limited income. This isn't what I expected to be doing in my golden years!!! Of my limited what Facebook is doing is holding our accounts from us until we give them what they want which is personal info that's needed to commit IDENTITY fraud. ILLEGAL!!! Twisting our arms. Bullies!!! I've never felt so violated in my entire life like I do right now with FB.

Here's how they do it. For me they used the scam of locking my account for no real reason. No one but me was in my facebook account I know this to be true. Can't say that though now since I haven't been able to get in it. Anyway, they make up a lie. You can't reach them. You can't write them. They don't offer you option of resolving this the good old fashion way. Calling and talking directly with a person is out of the question. These things I just mentioned are your red flags people!!! Next my new number off my new phone I'd had 7 weeks didn't show up as my recovery phone number. I did change it first thing the day I got my new iPhone. If that's not bad enough FB or its imposters said I had to log in from a browser I've used in past. Well that would be my broken phone I no longer have. Could be a problem. But I know I'd used my new phone at least two dozen times to log in to my facebook account.

I know for fact that 4 yrs ago, I set up two trusted friends to help me out in a jam like this. We are all still on FB. But FB or its IMPOSTERS certainly didn't remember I had set that up. Hmmm. Ok. So now what? It said to upload my ID. Interesting that this was only way I could get into my account that really I shouldn't have been locked out of. So I blacked out the things my lawyer friend told me to always black out when showing picture ID. Facebook has tons of my pictures and knows what I look like so getting my picture drivers license with my full name on that matches my account should certainly be enough. Nope. An hour later I get the first text telling me I need to let them see my birthdate!!! THAT'S WHEN THE RED FLAGS WENT UP. I sent them pic back of my DL again with month and day no year. They replied back they needed date.

I told them my attorney would contact them. I need to get an attorney and sue the pants off FB or the imposters. Or both!!! FB HOLDS YOUR PERSONAL PHOTOS (I have some very private artistic photos of myself in private albums FB now has only access to). My family member is coming to United States tomorrow I think and I've been locked out of my account and missed the details of my baby cousins 5 day trip. It's funny that my new phone number dummy pop up, but two led friends got my new number from my FB page a week before my FB PAGE HIJACKED FROM ME. This is sooo illegal. Someone stop FB.

I recently created a fan page on Facebook for my band, and my problem is that there's no way to see who has viewed or even liked our page. Seriously, are we not allowed to know? There's also no way to see who has RSVP'd an event that we created. This is not cool since as I've read from other users before, sometimes there are certain people that you want to avoid and don't want them to find out about your business. (Stalkers, crazy exes, etc.)

Should we just accept the fact that by creating a fan page, it is subject to the viewing of every single person on Facebook? That can't be right. We should at least be allowed to screen the people that view or like our page for safety reasons. I really hope that Facebook can fix this problem since from what I've read, there are many of us that have this concern. I don't want to have to create a new account from a different social media website since I'm already not a big fan of social media to begin with. I only created our band's fan page since that's the most accessible way to interact with people who might be interested in us online. Besides, everybody's on Facebook nowadays, so it's a great place to reach out to others. But it's still not cool to just let anyone see who we are. So please, give us this option and everything on Facebook will be perfect.

I was so heartbroken that following school year to see that she has not enrolled at the same school and I am equally glad to finally get in touch with her. She's working as a nurse in the Middle East but through Facebook we can message each other each day and we get to be updated each other through the pictures we post in our FB page.

I love that Facebook also added the different reaction buttons for each post or pictures shared. In addition, they also make available different types of games. The only thing I do not like about Facebook is that it broadcasts each single posts I like or comments I add to any photos or pictures that I am not always comfortable for everyone to know or simply is not the concern of my other friends. I wish there's an option that you can keep those things for yourself. That's my only concern. Since it is very accessible to many, it is very effective in sharing information either false or real information. You only have to be wise which info you will believe. Other than that, I like that Facebook continues to grow and makes valuable updates so friends, families, and even co-workers can keep each other connected in many creative ways.

I joined Facebook years ago when it first started. Back in the day I enjoyed it. Was a great way to stay in touch with friends. In the last little while it has been hell just to maintain an account that I am now locked out of. They have a very paranoid automated system that blocks and deletes inappropriate content according to Facebook. With my account this system went bonkers, it started to identify images that are perfectly fine. In my case it first started to nag me over a picture in my album that was nothing more than a certificate of authority with my name on it. Why post such things? I figured it was fine and I was proud and wanted to share this. Facebook gives you the option to certify that an image really is fine if you check on that box next to it. However this does nothing at all and with my experiences no one at Facebook actually reviews.

After a few times of this Facebook blocked my account for a few days. Then after suspended my account. While all along clicking on "report problem" with a message that again no one at Facebook reads. You can not call them or speak with some real person. I also had paid Facebook advertising going on. Once my account got suspended from them, I was not able to log in and stop the advertising. Facebook robbing me hundred of dollars in front of my face while being helpless. Ads I could no longer stop. I had to go to my bank and make a stop payment on anything Facebook. However now I am getting 4 phone calls a day from an overseas collection agency. Since Facebook as a small office in Canada even if it is just a PR one, they are bound by Canadian rules as well and I may have to take them to small claims court.

I, too, have been a Facebook user for a few years now right after Friendster disappeared in the abyss. I'm not a total fan of it, but I see the bright side of having an account with them. It is a good way to connect with family and friends, and even enemies, and people one just wants to add to his/her list. It is a very good way to let time pass – while waiting for someone or something, doing nothing, riding the long ride or whatnot, a person can scroll up and down and voila, the time has passed. I use FB for some sort of storage. I do have lots of stuff on it that I don't want the world to see so I like that there is an option to make them private, that is as far as my understanding goes. Also, I see people selling stuff on FB, and it's for free. That's great!

I'm not sure as to when the "unfollow button" came into being, but that is a very good way to avoid annoying posts from people without having to unfriend them and being branded as a **. Silly isn't? I like the new reaction buttons... though I hope they can add more to that. On Mother's Day, they added the flowery-thank-you button, but it disappeared after that... It just makes me wonder.

This is the 3rd time I have been banned from posting on Facebook. Each time it's been a political comment that supposedly violated their community standards. There was no foul language, insults or anything else in their list of violations used, but it's on a thread where I've made factual comments that have disproven many of Ms. Clinton's qualifications and accomplishments.

But this time I decided to just scan one post and reported several comments that did call people by name, racist comments, vulgar comments. One actually was a video of 2 men having sex. Another was one of multiple posts by the same woman calling people "entitled, ** boys," "rich, millennial, ignorant fools." This went on for 17 comments on this thread and all were written by Hillary Clinton supporters. I then reported several people for using the same words I used. I said a person was a troll. They were on a Bernie Sanders page stirring up trouble, off-topic posts, the definition of trolling.

You can probably guess the outcome. Of the over 40 comments I reported that used threatening, hate speech, vulgar comments, not 1 comment was found to have violated their community standards, even the people who said word for word what I was banned for. It's no surprise that this day Facebook was charged for being biased in their trending news articles. Like many other complaints say, I've asked for explanations and get nowhere. I very also tried to delete my personal info rather than just deactivate my account, but I'm unable to.

To sum things up, Facebook is a scam. They let you post comments in exchange for your personal info and if your comments don't agree with their agenda you're banned and can't get your personal info back. They've gotten too big to fight so all we can do is alert others about our experiences so they won't get trapped. Very bad situation.

The next time they asked me to confirm my identity by confirming people on my list and the pictures were of 3 different people. Then one time they asked me to identify the person in the pictures. They showed me 2 pictures of a little girl, one of a grown man and a list of names of only men? HOW CAN YOU IDENTIFY someone like that.

One time they asked me to identify the person in the 3 pictures. One was of a ** woman. One picture was of a dress and the other picture was of a ** man. IT'S CRAZINESS. Then they locked me out of the account permanently and they won't even give you a link to respond. What kind of craziness is this? Nearly every time I tried to do their "quiz" to unlock my account when they asked me to identify the person in the picture there were 3 or more DIFFERENT people in the pictures and a half dozen names to choose from. The site really does suck. THE REAL REASON they block you is when you post POLITICAL INFORMATION. They are a VERY LIBERAL SITE and they HATE you posting anything that isn't PRO OBAMA or PRO-HILLARY CLINTON. Ask anyone on the other side of it. They will block you in a New York minute for posting.

They don't' really need an excuse to block you except if someone at FACEBOOK doesn't agree with your political positions. The site really sucks. It's not set up for PRO-AMERICAN. They are there for one purpose. Information gathering. Once you go beyond that, posting political things about the election that are not Pro LIBERAL, they block you without warning and give you some ** identity test that you can't pass even if you DO know the people because they show you pictures of a half dozen people with only one way to respond. On March 8, I filled out a request to promote the website for my novel, A Personal Agenda, and paid Facebook $180 to carry out the campaign in approximately 25 countries for ten days. What Facebook has apparently done is to run the campaign in Angola and Nigeria, and marginally, in Kazakhstan and a province of Russia. This is very apparent to me because of over 1,300 likes of the page, 90 percent come from Angola, while eight percent come from Nigeria. It is simply impossible that no one else in the major Western European countries, the United States, Jamaica (where I was born) or Latin America have responded to my ad. Instead, individuals who may like the aesthetics of the ad, but not necessarily purchase the novel are the ones who are liking the ad.

My request for this ad was submitted one day after Facebook also committed a blatantly fraudulent act in response to my initial request to promote the same site at Facebook´s prompting. When I clicked on the website and choose Promote Page as they instructed, Facebook instead began to promote the website for TV Jamaica. What was most curious about this incident was that Facebook did not send me a draft of the ad to review as it had done with my first ad and the third. Instead, Facebook continued to run the ad and refused to answer my requests to correct the issue and refund my money. I believe Facebook is working with the U.S. Government in these schemes because of an ongoing campaign by the Government against me for in effect being a whistleblower and suing them.

Am I the only one who realizes what Facebook is doing? Every time my phone boots up I see facebook automatically open in the background even if I am not using it! And several of the other apps I use like GasBuddy and Weather Channel automatically force open Facebook in the background. So not only does this drain my battery faster but it uses up data and probably does data mining. It's bad enough that Facebook REQUIRES me to allow the largest amount of privacy infringement of any app, but now it is intruding on my available battery and data! I can't believe advertisers aren't aware that the Facebook "usage" numbers are rigged, but that's their problem. Why don't I see any posts anywhere on the net about this? I uninstalled and now do my facebook via a browser weblink.

A few days ago, my friends on FB started getting friend requests from a person claiming to be me. This person was trying to scam money out of people on my friends list. I reported it, my partner reported it... all my friends reported it. So... imagine my surprise when I wake up this morning to find my Facebook account has been shut down because I am apparently IMPERSONATING someone. Yep, you read that right. Apparently I am the one with the bogus account. I pointed out to Facebook that if they had actually bothered to LOOK at the two accounts they would see one that was created about 5 years ago that has heaps of activity and one that had been created less than a week ago. I have tried to explain to these people that they are wrong and that I am not impersonating anyone but the only response I have received is a message to tell me that I have to prove who I am before I can continue on Facebook.

I changed my last name to that of my partner because I am estranged from my family and want nothing to do with them so of course I cannot provide identity to say I am the person on my profile. The OTHER profile... with its 2 pictures and 18 friends is still up. To say that I am LIVID is an understatement. Is it so difficult for the person handling these reports and complaints to actually LOOK before they act? Really? Is it that hard? Not a happy customer.

I've seen multiple issues on Facebook where so many people break the rules, that Facebook looks like chaos on a daily basis. It looks like there are no rules because of how many people post nasty, hurtful, nude pictures without regards to others, and how there are some groups where members spew out a lot of hatred and anger, but when I dare to say anything with anger because I'm ready to snap thanks to all the rule-breakers around me, only I get my account compromised by the moderators and everyone else around me doesn't get any punishment at all. My likes, music, movies, etc. were all removed from my page and I don't see the point in socializing with anyone on there if my account is going to be screwed over that badly. I'm NOT social. I only care about my hobbies and want to help promote that stuff.

Messenger is a huge waste of my time and I don't use FB for business purposes, so people are annoying. When I've reported nude photos posted by others, sometimes FB moderators completely ignore my report and I have to go and report the picture several times within a single week before it's finally removed. I feel emotionally harassed on FB under these circumstances. My account is ruined and I don't deserve to be mentally abused like this while others are still running their mouths off and breaking the rules left and right. I also have found members who use obviously fake names that are not advertising something, people who are not public figures... yet when I report them, nothing is done. Those people are also breaking the rules and getting away with it. I feel like I'm among the rare few who's getting outright bullied on FB and I'm completely helpless. I feel completely victimized even by the moderators themselves. What a load of bullcrap!

I am a pretty disgruntled that their system is of blocking and deeming things inappropriate is so vastly inconsistent and that there is no way to contact them or receive an explanation as to why some things violate their community standards and others don't. Several months ago I also reported someone for using hate speech and they again declined to act on that report. I am also polite and never use swear words or call people names. I did not curse, I did not name-call except when I was referred to as a pro gun nut case and I called him a gun control nut right back. I have expressed my opinion a number of times on causes I believe in.

This morning I received a message from Facebook that I had been blocked for 5 days I think it was. No specific reason given. Other than a site or person complained. My only guess is my outspoken activity on gun control. Even criminals have the right to know the charges against them. I closed my Facebook account soon after that message. I know this is something that probably will not be investigated, and that is fine with me since I have no intention of opening another account with Facebook and they were probably covered this in the small print. When I posted the complaint about this stupid feature, I was ignored. Finally, I was pointed to a "help article" that summed up the advice saying "if you don't want your friends to see your comments/likes, don't make them at all." A social network that exposes your activity like this has no interest in preserving your privacy. If they are so willing to advertise your activity, imagine what they do with your private detail! I find them highly ignorant to ignore user's concerns that their activity may cause trouble between users.

In fact, I have had family members unfriend me because I supported a cause (when I liked it, they were notified I did so) that they were opposed. So this is not a feasible social platform for me. It's highly unrealistic and represents such a silly openness to your likes and interests, it's not worth using. What a shame because of how many use the service. Facebook does not care! However, when I notified the page's owner of these comments, they blocked the 'troll' and thanked me for alerting them to the situation. Yet that is how I make a living. So I continue to sell through the group. However if my full name was on FB I can only imagine what would have come of it if they had my information like that. How would I have turned out if they knew how to find me through my full name? Probably not good.

While I understand how many like to have their privacy, one issue that is not sufficiently addressed is the use by minors. Legally, 18 is when you are an adult yet FB can allow 13 year old CHILDREN to create accounts and that is if they are honest about their age. There has to be some accountability and verification system with in this company. Children are allowed to create accounts with false dates of birth, false names and multiple accounts with no accountability by the company for verification of the facts. When a parent does try to remove the under 18 years of age child's account, they are not able to do so. As a parent, I find this extremely alarming. If I have taken every step possible within my ability to keep my child off of FB or have my child's account removed, FB should be held accountable for allowing the creation of a new account without verifying anything.

Children are being put in danger and harmful situations online because FB does not hold any accountability. I am by no means saying the parents should not do their part, but what is a parent to do when they have done their part? FB is helping to taking the power a parent has to protect their child and stomping on it by not have stricter verification of age and name. If a nickname is used as the profile name, fine but a real name should be able to be on file somewhere for verification. Other sites are able to do this without any issue, there is no reason why FB is not.

I do my best in every way to watch out for and protect my child, teen or not, and I do not find that FB has been any kind of help in that matter. Having internet at home is almost necessary now for doing research for homework projects or homework period like some of my child's high school classes require. I need it for my college courses. Blocking the site, talking to our ISP and etc. can only do so much. Schools can't even keep the site blocked. FB needs to do something. I think lots of other parents out there feel the same way. It is only a matter of time until something bad happens before FB does something and that should not have to be the case!!!

I have a music page on Facebook, and we pay for advertising to gain a wider audience on Facebook. 4 days ago I finished creating a brand new website, and was posting from the website with a share tool to Facebook and Twitter, and I noticed the posts were suddenly not showing up on Facebook. So, I get a link and try to post it manually, and I get a pop up box from Facebook saying my laptop may have a virus or malware! I ended up letting Facebook do a scan on my laptop, for said virus or malware, and even let them take a file for further examination. They said they would message me with a response, I got nothing!

I clicked on the link in the pop up box that said I think I was targeted incorrectly, they closed that so fast, it was not even funny - again with no resolution. I did scans on my laptop with multiple programs, no malware or virus was found. One of my contributing writers decided to message them and complain, he got a phone number, and called it, and was told that the page and myself were flagged for spam because the page was marked by 2-3 people in one day as spam, which I find a little ridiculous, because a page with thousands of likes would literally be shut down constantly if such a thing was allowed. And anyone can click the links I have posted and see that they are not spam, that they go to the website feature music reviews, news, show dates, etc. I do not even post the content from my website on my personal page, yet they give me the same virus/malware warning when I trying to post anything with a link to it!

I am being told I now have to wait for a week, for them to "clear" me and the page. Meanwhile the page goes down the pooper, and they continue to collect our advertising dollars? I called Facebook myself and spoke to the same guy my writer did, and he literally sighed on phone. I said "Oh you don't want to hear what I am saying anymore, just like the rest of your customer service wants to do nothing to solve this issue!"

People post objectionable things constantly on that site, and nothing is done about it, but I follow the rules, pay for advertising, and I am being punished, and lied to being made to think my laptop has a virus or malware that no programs can find!? And that I am supposed to sit idle for a week and not be able to use features that everyone else can use because they decided it should be so!? This is harassment and discrimination. I have done nothing wrong.

Plus how can they continue to take advertising $$ when the page is not being allowed to work at full functionality? If they want people to take their $$ and leave the site, this is a GOOD way to do it!

I have repeatedly reported images to Facebook for review that very clearly show a child or animal in distress or in a dangerous position and I always get the same generic reply which says 'we have reviewed the image and find it does not violate our community standards.' Examples of these images are a cat which has obviously been shoved into a plastic bottle container, by a person, where it cannot breath or remove itself. This is serious animal cruelty and encourages uneducated minds to try and re-create this scenario when they see how many 'likes' it gets.

Similarly I recently reported a picture by Unilad which showed a little girl no more than 3-4 years old who's bottom has fallen through a hole in some kind of table/unit. The child is scared and distressed as she is stuck and some idiot adult has taken a picture instead of helping her. A 3-4 year old can not give consent for these pictures to be exploited and it is morally wrong on a number of levels but Facebook's review section is obviously not checked by an independent and real life person with knowledge of the social implications of these images. They do not want to take responsibility as the Newspapers and television have had to. They are hiding behind a culture of freedom of speech but since when did not include the mistreatment of children and animals? To anyone wanting to advertise with Facebook, We are an online magazine that spent campaign money on Facebook advertisements for our Facebook page. As our publication grew, the decision was made to expand our services to our readers. In this expansion, our existing magazine was to be made a part of a larger publication, with a greater number of topic areas. The original publication was to remain the focus of our new, larger publication. Since we are expanding the scope of our magazine, it was imperative in our opinion to amend the name of the magazine as well. Facebook policy does not allow for more than one name change on a company page. We had, unfortunately, previously made a minor change to our name from Clinical Trials Magazine Canada to Clinical Trials Magazine.

The omission of Canada was done as a means to afford us worldwide relevance. Unfortunately this minor name change (the removal of a single word, Canada), constituted our only allowed name change. After attempting to change our name within Facebook and subsequently being disallowed, we created a new business page with our new publication name, Medical News Bulletin. This caused a problem for us as well when we tried to merge our pages since Facebook policy indicated the names are too different.

In an attempt to resolve this quandary, we sent a message to Facebook support along with our request to merge pages, explaining the situation in detail to them. Our request was denied three times. Each time they refused our appeal without significant explanation, or attention to the specifics of our particular request. So now the money we invested in our Facebook promotion is lost; we now need to start from the beginning again. Thank you Facebook.

I use an obviously made-up name on Facebook and have for years. I recently changed my password (not because I had to, because you should periodically) and was sent to the name verification page when I logged back in. Years ago, I had a Facebook account with my real name. It was a disaster. I deleted it and started a new account. People who know me know how to search for me. I have fewer than 50 friends on my Facebook account. I've never been blocked or reported. Providing my legal identity to Facebook and then being forced to use that information as my username, I feel, is not only a violation of my privacy, but threatens my personal safety. Sadly, I cannot maintain my connections under this policy.

It was a free service, so I suppose I can't be THAT mad in the end. Just sad to lose some contacts and pages access in the blink of an eye. I use an alias on purpose; not so that I can troll anonymously or whatever, but so that I can stay connected with distant family and friends, and participate in the occasional social media campaigning the organization I work for engages in - while avoiding certain individuals I know would otherwise find me, stalk me and continue to drag me down all over again. There are no photos of me and anything. I'm, however, rarely tagged in by friends I remove or remove from view. The site's purely for connection, consciousness sharing, political shaking and moving and unwinding - catching up and staying in touch.

I hate being sold stuff, and though I have nothing to hide personally, I don't like how the data from using these services is being used by others - including law enforcement at state and federal levels. It's the principle of the thing! Having my hopes and dreams, discouraged or angry moments, jokes and whatever happens in my life monitored and squashed into data bits and terms so I can be sold to more effectively or monitored for risk to national security has always bothered me. But requiring a government issued photo ID to get into my now locked account takes it to a whole other level.

Why do they need date of birth, full legal name and a photo? I'm not applying for a passport here… (They're just asking for one). This isn't a credit check. I'm not applying for a loan, or buying a home, even trying to rent from someone somewhere. There is no money tied to this except the consumer targeting in the round about ways data from my posts, messenger conversations, photos, etc. is used by 3rd party organizations to make me buy stuff. Maybe I need their IDs, actually. So while I, like many here and everywhere, am sad at this forced weaning off of the social media addiction, I am much happier to leave altogether than play ball. Their whole policy is against what their site stands for or stood for, regarding any sense of "community" or protection...no matter how they frame it. I respect my own privacy too much to bend to their will, just to use their convenient networking tools.

Facebook has been sliding in a bad direction for some time, away from free expression and even ownership of said expression to doing away with user privacy by requiring I surrender copies of a government issued ID(s) with my personal information to someone(s) in the organization, (or even outside the organization!!!), with faith that it will be handled as the sensitive personally identifiable information that it is. This photo ID crap is what you might call the final nail in the coffin, for me. Sincerely, a successful 31 year old with lots of family and friends, and dreams and passions, and nickels and dimes that you'll never see as long as I can help it.

Shortly after I was notified by said user of his intent, I was logged out and, upon attempting to log in again, Facebook notified me about sending a picture of my personal ID. Although I complied with the request twice, my account has not been restored and I am left with no recourse. In considering Facebook's priorities I find their prompt response to an unwarranted report not only arbitrary but also extremely biased, given their technological capabilities when it comes to linking my entire personal history to my account, yet being totally incapable of verifying my identity by simply accessing information they obviously possess. In short, I believe that Facebook's verification process lacks the least minimal amount of checks and balances for such a technologically-savvy enterprise.

I have tried multiple times to join the Facebook community. I am disabled and homebound and it is one of the few ways I get some kind of social interaction. Every time I join within a few weeks to a month I get blocked and they tell me they suspect I am not using my real name. Each time they ask for ID and each time they tell me I have been confirmed and then within a few days I am blocked again with no explanation and no time frame for how long it may last.

This past time (beginning yesterday) they asked for identification and I sent it to them. They confirmed it yesterday and I was able to use the site until today when I tried to log on and they demanded a cell phone number. I was using a cell phone, but it is an older inactive cell phone that my wife used to have and I use it to get online because it is much easier to use in bed which is where I am the majority of the time. There is NO NUMBER! I use it as I would a tablet. I sent them a message telling them this but that didn't work so now I guess I am just done with it.

I think that a company making literally billions of dollars from its users should be required to offer some type of customer service. It is outlandish that they get to operate with no oversight whatsoever while people like myself are just left out in the cold. This is not the way anybody should be treated, and certainly not somebody like myself whose only social interaction available is through places like Facebook.

The day of and after, not one soul in my store, when prior to them closing my business page down I couldn't catch my breath. I sent them the 2 documents that they required and got my page back up, two weeks later.

I had to get a new timeline page in order to get connected to my business page. They connect them together in one email. At this point, they have given me 10 different pages as up to July 15th, 2015 they have closed me down several times. The area I live in for small businesses is hard and I am trying hard not to lose my business, although people rely so much on Facebook in the Tri-Cities area.

I pay to advertise with them to get LIKES and to get the word out about my business in surrounding areas such as Prosser, Grandview, Yakima, Wenatchee, Seattle, Spokane, Ritzville, Hermiston, OR, Pendleton, OR, Portland, OR are just a few due to I am a specialty vintage girlie store. I need all of the free advertising and advertising that I can afford as the paper and tv ads are so much for such a small business as myself.

At this time, since July 15th, 2015 as I have been closed down again on my business page and have several times sent them the required paperwork to show that I am a business. They want my birthdate, which you do NOT need to have to open a business page. They want passport information, driver's license, information and the list goes on, which is personal as they do NOT need personal information such as that.

Three days prior to be shut down or locked out, I had just gotten done advertising with them with my business page. I had gone to my bank and have put a stop payment on anything coming from Facebook as of July 21st, 2015. They usually do not charge my debit card until around the 3rd to the 7th of each month. I have NOT heard anything on this yet from Facebook.

I have not been given a reason why I am locked out of my business page. I am baffled and it is hurting me enough to where I am about to lose everything in my life. I have tried several times to contact them through their website help with no avail. I have uploaded a handful of times the required paperwork with them telling me I need to give them a driver's license and passport information. No, I refuse as this does not have my business INFORMATION on it. At this point, I don't know what to do as an extreme small business owner that specializes, I'm going to lose my business here soon and everything will go downhill with that along with the car and home mortgage along with feeding my family. Over the past few months I've tried to resolve a problem I've been having with another user on Facebook concerning intellectual property rights. Facebook lists lots of options for "reporting" a problem, but most of them end up telling you to ignore the other person, block them, or to try to resolve it directly with the other person. But when you try to resolve it with the other person, there should be a procedure for Facebook to get involved, especially when it involves a violation of their policy.

My current complaint is that a single user has created at least 6 usernames to point to a single business page. The page in question is Where to Eat and Sleep. The 6 usernames I've found are **. These are the ones I've found. I have a business page called ** and I'm unable to get a username with any variation of this term because a single person has taken at least 6 variations to lead to a page that has a completely different name. I have reason to believe he has done this in bad faith.

It is important to note that there is no profile for this user. All usernames lead to this page without any information on the person behind this page. Article 4 of Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities clearly states that each account must be associated with a real person and that no one should have more than one account. It goes on to state that a violation of this article will lead to the accounts being closed and the users removed from Facebook. This suggests that Facebook takes this matter very seriously.

Facebook's policy on usernames for pages clearly states that one can only change the username linking to a page ONE TIME. Facebook goes on to warn customers to be sure they like the name before choosing it since it can only be changed one time. This seems to suggest that no page can have more than 1 username attributed to it at a time. If someone could have 6 usernames for a page, why state the rule that a name could only be changed once? Why would someone need to change the username if it could just create 6 more?

I lodged a complaint with Facebook concerning the violation of Article 4 (the usernames used are **, which are not attributed to a real person...and having at least 6 usernames suggests that the same person has at least 6 personal accounts to create these usernames) as well as the violation of the username policy (at least 6 usernames is more than the 1 allowed at a time under the policy). The violations seem so evident to me and others I've talked to.

Facebook has responded merely that they do not consider this to be a violation. There is no way to respond to Facebook, except by lodging a new complaint. There is no appeal, no follow-up, nothing. This has been going on for months! Facebook creates a Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which states that it is binding on its members, yet there is absolutely NO enforcement mechanisms or due process. It seems if a company such as Facebook, with a dominant position on the market, creates governance rules, there should be an adequate complaint and enforcement mechanism in place to ensure that these rules are respected.

Such a Statement goes both ways...it also creates rights for its members that Facebook will ensure that these rules are enforced against other members who violate these rules. This is a basic principle of rule of law (basic principle for democracies). Otherwise, members are subject to Facebook's arbitrary decisions and have no way to add other information, defend its rights, etc. Just like a totalitarian government. I would love to know if others have experienced similar problems.

With no warning at all, Facebook suspended my account and a government ID was required to prove my identity in order to reactivate the account. Facebook's reasoning appears invalid. First of all, my friends know who I am. The people I want to connect with, will be the people I connect with. I do not need for Facebook to make it easier for me to connect with people I don't know or have people find me. If I wanted to be found, I will make myself be found. Just because I'm on a social media website does not mean I want to connect with everyone. And Facebook wanted accountability. They can surely create "taboo" words or activities that can be blocked.

Facebook is crossing a privacy issue, forcing people to be public to everyone they don't want to be public with. With such high identity theft, why is Facebook contributing to it and making it easier for the culprits to have your information? I'm not applying for credit. I'm not asking for money. I'm not applying for a job. So why does Facebook need all my identification? With that said, there is no reason Facebook should have my government ID and expose my "real name", jeopardizing my safety. The only thing I can come up with is that Facebook needs to make money. By that, they want your info to sell it. Finally, someone in my past life, who I did not want to reconnect with, found me on Linkedin and stalked me at my workplace.

Thereafter, I deleted the Linkedin account. In the same way, Facebook is jeopardizing people's privacy and safety. I'm sure Mark is used to getting sued, so another class action means nothing to him. At this point, I just want access to my account so I can remove my photos. Then I will deactivate the account myself. I don't need Facebook to dwell any more into my personal life by submitting my government ID. I have no idea what the second and third charges were for. On March 31, 2014, I agreed to pay Facebook $200 to "boost" an ad for my new app. They agreed to post the ad on at least 22,000 targeted websites. Two days later, Facebook reported that they had posted my ad to more than 25,000 targeted websites. They also said they had promoted my website. On April 31, 2014, Facebook charged my Visa account for $248.27. There was no explanation as to why I was charged $248.27 instead of $200.

As of this date (April 2, 2014), I have received absolutely no responses (no "Likes," no downloads, etc.) from any of the alleged postings or promotion. Moreover, Facebook did not provide any way for me to verify that they had posted anything, so I can only go by the results. When I had personally posted my ad to a number of individual sites, I had received an 8 to 10% response of likes and/or downloads, so it's statistically impossible for 25,000 posts to receive zero response. Even an 8% response would provide 2,000 likes and/or downloads.

Facebook has now blocked me from privately posting my ad to individual sites but tells me they will be happy to post it for additional money. I am convinced that Facebook failed to post my ad at all. When I tried to complain about this to Facebook, they blocked me from using my personal account or my business account. I currently cannot access Facebook at all.

Secondary Issue: When I selected my method of payment as VISA, Facebook immediately accepted it, showed the last 4 digits in my VISA number and asked if that's the card I wanted to use. I completed the transaction and then it struck me that this was my first transaction with Facebook, and I had not previously given them my number. This led me to ask myself, HOW DID THEY GET MY VISA NUMBER? I would love to have an answer to that question. In summary: Facebook's unexplained overcharges are only $85.00, but my total financial loss is $335.00, because there is no indication that they posted one ad or promotion on my behalf. I believe that Facebook simply considers itself to be above the law.

This morning I tried logging in as usual and FB said my acct was temporarily disabled and I need to verify my ID to get it re-activated. So after checking I wasn't being hacked or scammed I took a pic of my driving license, blocking out certain info and reluctantly sent it to them (After all, all the info on that card is online already anyways). When I re-checked it just says please wait while I'm verified. No idea of how long it will take... I'm terrified all my photos are at risk! My contacts will think I've blocked them and my page is an admin down! There's no reason for FB to do this to me! I don't do anything wrong! There's no explanations, no apology. Repeatedly throughout the last month or two I've been blocked from posting on two separate accounts because Facebook claims I've supposedly violated their so called terms and conditions for the simple fact I refuse to tolerate bullying and threats of violence from other Facebook users. However when these people are reported in the majority of cases Facebook does absolutely nothing except retaliate against me for what complaining to begin with and then blocks me from posting from my accounts. Yet another of my friends has had hits put out on her on public forums on Facebook and they did nothing about that either. They claim it does not violate their terms and conditions.

I've also reported users for threatening to kill or insinuating they would kill law enforcement officers and of course Facebook says that doesn't violate their terms and conditions either. Yet all I did was shared pictures from these users' public profiles and copied and pasted their exact words to the post and BAM blocked from posting on one account for 7 days and now blocked from posting on the other for 24 hours all because I stand up for myself and my friends and support the officers who lay their lives on the line daily to protect us and they obviously don't approve.

Facebook needs the pants sued off of them and to be permanently shut down since they don't even honor their own terms and conditions to make Facebook a safe place to voice your opinions or concerns or spend time with long distance family and friends. They encourage and condone bullying and death threats to name a few and they definitely condone harassment as long as the one being harassed doesn't give the harasser a good what for. SHUT THAT MESS DOWN - FACEBOOK ISN'T A SAFE PLACE FOR ANYONE ESPECIALLY NOT OUR TEENS and if they aren't going to honor their terms and conditions where EVERYONE is concerned they should not be allowed to continue drawing people in with their lies and bogus terms and conditions just to fill their pockets with our money. My kids have gotten suspended from school for actions called bullying or just by simply posting a picture of someone that had a bad hair day and called the principal to contact us to have my child to take it down from an account that I didn't even know my children have. How is this possible that my kids are on Facebook and there is no security or age verification at all.

Come on Mr Zuckerberg. Get it together and make this right. Make it so everyone has to verify age and add filters to anyone under eighteen for restricted content. I don't need my kids ruining their education over Facebook. So if there is anything that can be done, please do it. My children have friends that have Facebook and they are all under 18. I believe this situation could be a good beginning for class action suit against Facebook business pages. I run many Facebook pages for my business, other businesses and non-profits, plus help with many more pages. Most are over 100,000 fans, some are over half a million fans and have huge reach, so they are an important part of my businesses.

This is the third time that Facebook has mistakenly, wrongfully banned me and this was the worse mistake ever. Each time, the ban has lasted longer and the threat of taking/removing my pages are worse. I have been told that Facebook does this regularly, especially after you exceed 500,000 fans as Facebook wants the page for themselves, regardless, Facebook has hurt my business. I have also read that this is fairly common problem and many other people are regularly complaining about this unchecked mistake of Facebook.

One week ago, a regular photographer shared one of his beautiful photos on our page, **. I did as I always do and placed the post on our page, giving a little comment about its beauty in our area, it was two Bluebonnets, Texas Wildflowers. The post was typical of our beautiful scenery post, which is mostly all we share, showing Central Texas beauty.

The next day, all seven of our administrators received the attached messages, with the bluebonnet picture attached advising that it had violated Facebook's community standards. I don't know if someone falsely reported it or what, but Facebook banned us all from this page and every page we work with, including our personal pages. This notification is actually from another admin and friend, ** since I couldn't save or retrieve my notice. I contacted the photographer to see if he knew anything about it, which he did not, and his original posting is still on our page.

We of course we're all shocked and upset, immediately responding to the Facebook notices we received. When we try and post onto any page, a pop-up shows up telling us that we're blocked and asking if we wanted to report that Facebook "made a mistake". We all responded, but nobody responded back to us, yet within the first day, all admins were given full rights back, except for me, page creator and owner, Scott **. I was banned for 10 days from posting or interacting on Facebook pages.

I tried every way I knew how to talk or reach out to Facebook. I replied to old email I had, I sent notices on the "complaints" pages and I searched everywhere for options. I even responded multiple times, 5 and 6 times each, most every time the pop up would inform me that I am banned. In the link that ask if Facebook wants to be informed if they "made a mistake", I let them know about this mistake every way I could.

I have never received any response or help and it is now day seven. This has crippled my ability to properly do business or properly help large firefighter campaigns as Facebook has become a big part of my business and services. Facebook was wrong on this, with the first and every time they have banned me, but I know they are keeping record and the next time will probably be worse. I can prove what I am saying, and they truly made a mistake on all three occasions.

I am not some kid, I am a retired police officer, now firefighter and business owner that has no means of address or ability to even contact Facebook. I have considered driving down to the Austin Texas offices, but afraid I would lose my temper at their inability or unwillingness to help me. Is there no recourse or way to hold Facebook accountable for these kind of actions when they don't even offer a way to help or resolve them?

Many other photography pages have full nudes and there are breasts, nipples and penises in no less than 16 pages that I know of, yet I was banned for 24 hrs for a recreation of "the birth of Venus".

Now I think I have been "red flagged" as I tried to boost a simple post to just my followers. It was a weekend fun photography assignment to photograph shadows. It was rejected twice (Friday/Saturday) for offensive language. They would even read the post, until I demanded to know exactly what words/phrases were offensive. Then at 5am on the last day it was to run, I get an "oops, you can run it now". Why would I want to run it now? It is useless now. Instead of reaching 400 followers (about 2/3) it reached 22. Facebook name verification is controversial. My review joins many, as I share the dilemma of losing this convenience for communicating. Yes, Facebook offered their solution for restoring my profile. But, I have serious concerns after researching Facebook solutions.

Flag your "friend": Does the practice of encouraging "flagging" truly build a safer community? Facebook Chief Product Officer Chris Cox, October 1, 2014 Menlo Park, CA wrote: "Our ability to successfully protect against them with this policy has borne out the reality that this policy, on balance, and when applied carefully, is a very powerful force for good". Encouraging "friends" to "flag" maybe "whistle blowing" reporting. Not a crime, but unethical perhaps? Whereas, if the intention of a friend to flag another person, is to cause harm or embarrassment, then the genuine possibility of allowing cyber bullying is too possible. A better community can't be built on promoting friends to snitch on each other.

I would reply to Chris Cox and Mark Zuckerberg regarding the letter October 1, 2014. The link to the message is located on ** for any wishing to review the open letter to all the Facebook community. Or, Google the message "Chris Cox October 1, 2014 Menlo Park, CA. I want to apologize to the". I don't believe that Mark and Chris care about your problems. And they aren't concerned about solving your issues. What they do care about are "2" things. Telling you "who" to fear. And, who's responsible for you fears. Disagreement isn't being "community". Shades of Orwell's 1984 come to mind, as citizen becomes comrade, and comrade transcended to community. Issues of "free speech" are hotel contested.

Before you proceed with "name verification" or, releasing personal ID to Facebook: Please consider these points: From Facebook. What happens to my ID after I upload it? From Facebook: "After we resolve your issue, we'll permanently delete your ID from our servers". Poor descriptive or vague policy language: If there are official/ internal corporate language that defines "resolve", "issue" or "permanently delete" these descriptions aren't particularly transparent (publicly visible).

Clear language should accompany any demand for personal "verification"; that provide "real" details specific to the entire verification process. What 3rd parties are verifying you? Does this collected data become usable assets for the 3rd party contracted by Facebook? Even though Facebook may not use the information directly/ itself for any other purpose. What have you actually agreed to? What is really being said here? Define purpose, scope and intent clearly for the Facebook verification policy.

Although your profile maybe unlocked, the fact of regaining access, doesn't imply that all FB Corporate requirements to "satisfactory verification" are met. This assumption maybe premature? Many complaints cite, regaining profile access, then suddenly be locked again for an unknown issue? What are Facebook obligations on receiving "good/satisfactory" verification reports to unlocking profiles? How is "good/satisfactory" defined? How is "bad" verification defined? Are there requirements for Date/Time stamps that drive the verification process? Can the Facebook member(s) on demand, request written evidence that personal data is destroyed?

I signed up on Facebook with the name I have answered to for over 29 years. It's the name my Father has called me since I was 2 years old right up until the day he died. I opened up a restaurant and named the restaurant with the same name in honor of my late Father. Facebook said they want everyone to use their legal name so that friends will know who they are talking to and my friends do know. There are many upset parents in conversations relating to Facebook not protecting our kids. It appears Facebook has rules pertaining to what is and what is clearly not allowed on Facebook, i.e., illegal buying or selling, no drug deals, no human trafficking, no bullying, and a few more no-nos listed. They even give a page listing statements that may come close to the problem you need to report and very likely the statements just don't say what illegal activities you need to report, so you pick the one that is semi close and pray it will get you to the right person. Good luck, because it seems to never help solve the problem. There are teens bullying nonstop, there are lives being threatened by different gang members and between bullying teens, there are posts from teens that mention loneliness and suicide.

There are young teens buying and selling drugs, arranging to meet with contacts they have met through facebook to buy the drugs, and these are young female teens buying drugs from older men in their 20's and 30's. There are 20 to 30 to 40 year old men connecting with our daughters and sons to sell them drugs, i.e., meth, called Dope by this generation, cocaine, spice, acid, some type of synthetic chemicals the drug sellers are calling acid that they drop by liquid onto sheets of paper they then cut into small squares, the kids are overdosing, dying, have no idea what's being given or sold to them. These older men meet with our teens, get them very "high" for free, then have sex with them in front of other people, or off somewhere alone, promising whatever they need to, to gain access to trust. I think these things alone would be considered harming our children.

I doubt that a judge would say in his/ her courtroom that any of these crimes were okay, because they were done through social media, Facebook, so it's okay. Facebook claims they care about protecting our kids and everyone from being harmed, but will not remove or even suspend a child's account without you contact police and have warrants and or lawyers contact Facebook, which is my next step after numerous times reporting the incidents that involve kids we know and love in our little town, because Facebook does not care. If your child is 13 or younger, then, you might get lucky, but after the age of 13, beware.....of allowing your children to ever have a Facebook account.....that they can access regardless of taking away their computers, phones, tablets, etc., at home or finding out password and deleting it, because Facebook allows them to reopen an account on any device.

Facebook is a great way to stay connected to family and friends when used appropriately, but I hope we can get enough people to come together to bombard Facebook and our governments with complaints about the illegal content they are allowing. It's illegal to have sex with minors. And you will be reported to the police for doing so. Facebook is no better than the criminals activity that is harming our children because they are allowing it. This has to stop. Please contact Mark Zuckerberg by messaging him on Facebook, and your state senators, please do not just ignore this, save our kids. Facebook has been my social tool only one year. It's hard to abandon enjoyment of my interests/pages. So I was shocked when I was "restricted from contacting people I don't know" for seven (7) days. I experienced myriad emotions--surprise to shame. Research revealed some possibilities. I don't market online, however, some of my six (yes, only six!) friends do. Since I share freely, Facebook might have "caught" said Sharing.

I type/keyboard VERY fast. This applies to reading and posting also. Evidently, this is a HUGE no-no for Facebook. Restricted! Finally, a "friend" could have reported the posts as offensive, abusive, or uncomfortable. A twist is this may be an enemy, or someone who wishes you ill, reporting you because they're malicious. Facebook presents as "consumer-friendly", so if someone complains you're pretty much toast. Finally, when posts are shared people take inferences either literally or personally sometimes, sure the posts are directed at them/their circumstances specifically. Usually the posts simply reflect subjects of interest to the post-er.

What I've garnered from this experience follows: (1) DO NOT TYPE TOO FAST! You'll be kicked sans explanation. Frustration follows. (2) Review your "friends". If you don't really know some of them, maybe your wall includes troubled, damaged, or sensitive people who will throw you under the bus should your posts offend. Real friends love you despite differing viewpoints. Opinions and reactions are often at odds, a reality Facebook sums up as blocking. (3) Remember Facebook probably won't get back to you with answers about the restriction. Don't feel wronged. They're trying to handle millions of bugs and complaints, and sadly, these involve few precedents. Facebook stressed me today, something unexpected and unexplained. The collateral damage, unfortunately, is a seeping discomfort that will drive me to other social platforms.

February 2015, I'd been offline for a time, then tried to log back into my FB account. Been using same name for Years, no trouble. Suddenly, without warning or notice, the automated FB algorithms don't like my name: they don't grok hyphens or initials, and they demanded a copy of my legal ID. NO WAY! Worse, FB refuses to allow the user to get back into their account, to save information stored in their files. Also, they demand a copy of my ID, before allowing me to contest their decision to shut down my page or prove myself. I put exactly enough personal information on my FB account, to allow those who have a "need-to-know" to find me. Anyone could look at my FB account, and see I'm a real person... just staying safe online by never sharing my personal information.

Because of Facebook's arbitrary actions, I've suffered losses: Lost photos of grand kids I can't get back, no other sources for. Lost copies of writings and posts stowed on FB, no other copies for. Lost connections with people I have no email for, just the FB connection. Lost ability to interact with non-profit organizations in community, for which I volunteer, which interact on FB. Lost ability to interact with clients: I am a volunteer nurse advocate. Lost: my clients' ability to access me to get advocacy help.

I DELIBERATELY used my initials and a hyphenated form of my name, as well as an avatar picture of me from 1986, to prevent predators finding me to commit harm. Many thousands of people do not use their legal names or data on FB, because FB regularly endangers people using it: people using FB provide the PRODUCT being bought and sold by Facebook to entities worldwide; people's pages are hacked routinely. FB aggressively and manipulatively gathers personal data on all users, per well-founded articles littering the internet.

It is my opinion, FB routinely potentially endangers people, and potentially endangers any number of National Securities, because they demand copies of people's legal ID, and because FB harvests so much personal data, when FB is epically unsafe, and has no realistic capacity to protect user's personal data -- indeed, I think "security of users personal data" is antithesis to Facebook's actual business of selling/trading personal data. Imagine what the massive holes in "Facebook security" [that seems an oxymoron!] can provide for predators, terrorists, etc?

When Facebook shuts down someone's FB page, Facebook tells anyone looking for it that the user closed their own page. THAT is a lie: If they lie about that, what else are they lying about? IF there are class-action lawsuits regarding Facebook's aggressive demands for Legal ID copies, and their taking personal data from user's FB pages in any way, I need to know.

Just when you want to simply move your cursor across the page, everything is set to open or load simply because you accidentally moved your cursor over it. You know, like drop-down boxes and such.

Over the years they keep taking away features that people wanted & needed and now crammed in all these bells & whittles that are obnoxious. Also there are times that a lot of features you do need are hidden or tucked away while all the useless features are constantly in your face...Think of this analogy: You are trying to work and a friend or coworker keeps shoving suggestions, comments, and ideas in your face or waving their hands in front of you to get your attention.. After Facebook used my PayPal Account without my password nor my consent, I did some research and found a document written by Facebook informing FB users that all or any financial information can be used by Facebook as a payer to any App or game connected to Facebook. Therefore, they can violate PayPal's own privacy rules, rendering the use of a password as superfluous and unnecessary without our prior consent or even knowledge. This is extremely frightening.

What's next? Facebook can go into our online banking accounts and use our funds as they wish? Facebook used my PayPal Account to pay false and excessive charges made by an online game connected to Facebook. I was flabbergasted when I saw the charge after charge of phony purchases paid by Facebook to this online game when I had never used PayPal on Facebook. How did they get my password? Why didn't they ask for my confirmation? I found an email with the charges written down. But nowhere did FB ask me to confirm, only dispute it According to their form no refunds are given. Grace and peace! I have been a person on Facebook.com for several years. My first time, it was great to find others on Facebook that I went to school with in the past. But as of 2014, I decided to find my all late grandfather's family because I needed the family information to write my first book. I also used it to post, and play games on as well. I realized my accounts were being hacked every other minute. I was changing my pass code every time I signed in. On top of that I began to get malware viruses from God knows where! And on top of that, my focus with my certain friends was to encourage those that are broken, addicted to any drug and give them a sense of pride to let them know that it will get better.

Well it started with the viruses. Then my post began to disappear. And then days later reappear. My post was erased from God knows where also. Then my friends were made to follow me even if I request them myself. So I checked my privacy settings and security settings. On the site it stated that my notifications, messages and etc. was in tact. I found out that this was not true. By deactivating my account. And started a new account with my carrier 3 times! One account I played apps on and other I had friends on. And third one I refuse to give Facebook any true information.

I found out that all viruses and website functions not only come from outside servers like hackers, and virus spreaders. But I found out that Facebook first of all reads your messages, posts, comments, status, and they are strong on your personal information. When they can't find your information they push you to complete your profile. Yet if strictly formatted, you receive friend requests from people you didn't know. I can go on and on about this site.

It's disgusting for a website to get away all these things when all you are trying to do is keep in touch with love ones. This whole company should seriously be investigated or a least secure their network each and every time a consumer signs in. Especially with code words or numbers. And when this is done the network should be held responsible for each and every one of their members on their site. They even got Third Party Game Apps stealing your information, which I think they are doing that also. I don't and will never trust this website/network again because all of the activity is an inside job. Thank you for letting me share! God Bless! :-)

I got "stuck" in a nickname because after they made a rule to use your real name, it would not let me change it due to having previously changed it before and maxing out my one chance to change my name. So I was reported as a fake profile and was asked to change my name and verify my ID. I sent in a copy of my DL and mail from the IRS. I covered my Drivers License number with a tiny piece of paper as per their help forum suggest to hide numbers that are not relevant for security. They haven't communicated with me other than an automated message and a message that said they cannot use my ID to verify my identity. Umm, it's my DL and it's not fake, so what's your issue? Facebook closed my account for three days because "someone is using my access code" that I supposedly shared with them. I don't even know what my access code is nor did I share it with anyone. I can't get answers and facebook is the main venue in which I contact family members from far away and now I cannot do that. Very frustrating!

Here I am sure this is what happened. I have had this Facebook account for years and is based on a small business. We complained about a China-based Parcel Forwarder USGoBuy with no accreditation as later found out. Incidentally they were difficult to contact. Chat that did not work or calls that would not be answered. And when that was complained through their Facebook page...immediately our account is in Block. Facebook in this instance is going with the culprit -- both are equally stupid.

First closed account, then wanted color driver’s license to verify my id. Reason they told me finally was for safety and security reason. They never clarified the reason. It might because i was living in my van for awhile using free WiFi around town so location seen in different locations might have set up an alert. If that was the case then FB should of told me so i could tell them what was going on. Anyway i lost pictures of my daughter and grandchildren and messages from family and friends. I do not care if they close the account if they feel i violated their rules. But they could of at least let me keep what i had saved in the account. I doubt that i will trust a social network again.

I am rather dissatisfied with my experience with Facebook thus far. Recently I had my account flagged as using a fake name twice. But first let me explain why I was using a fake name. I am a furry, which is a subculture/fandom of sorts, and I prefer to go by my fursona or furry name over my biological name. In real life I usually prefer to go by my fursona's name more so than my biological birth name, and am often only referred to by colleagues and immediate family as my biological name, though I still have preference to go by my fursona identity.

Recently, Facebook saw it fit to flag me as using a fake name, and I was forced to show a photo ID to prove my identity. This not only opens up a lot of legal infringements and rights. I also feel that this is injustice to those that are within the furry fandom that may prefer to go by their fursona identities. I should not have to show my ID to prove who I am. I am me. I am not pretending to be anyone else. I could understand if I was pretending to be someone else I wasn't. I am still being me - it is just not using my in real life biological name, but my fursona name which I prefer to go by.

I think what really upsets me the most, however, is not simply the fact that I was forced to not only provide identification to who I am and forced to use a name that I really do not wish to reveal on the world wide web (as Facebook no longer makes it capable for us to be unsearchable... I really miss the days that I could opt to be unsearchable completely from Facebook), but also that when I do flag posts and submissions on pages for breaking their rules - **, death threats, etc., it often gets overlooked or I receive an automatic feedback from Facebook that states "the infringing material was not removed." Yet when it comes to me just using a name other than my biological name, Facebook sure seems to be adamant on correcting that, when they are failing to remove or fix the things that are really going wrong on Facebook.

I am appalled at their lack of responsibility, and seeming to not only allow further harassment to continue as well as ** when there are children under the age of 18 on Facebook, but also at their promptness to disable me for something so mediocre and meaningless, while they let things slip by that could really cause more harm than good. I really missed the days when Facebook cared about its members... and I always got a prompt response to everything. Now they seem to be more focused on numbers and giving out people's PII illegally more so than actually preventing the things that are causing people harm on their own site...

Why after 7 years do Facebook decide to send me a message saying that ** has been hacked and I need to send ID for this Account before they will activate? This is one big lie as Chris Cox confirms himself you can use other names as Facebook Friend accounts, he confirmed this 1st October 2014. I have build up an audience of over 18k people over the past 6-7 years and am linked to fan pages where I cannot access now, we spend money over the years & we must have got 1000's of people to join Facebook due to the work we do on the Club Scene and Facebook, and they do this all because of a name which is legally registered so why are they allowed to do this?

I along with my sponsors have spend lots of money advertising on Facebook. They can take your money just as quick as they can close you down. I have tried logging in with questions and it will not allow us to do anything except send ID and proof it's a real name. Can anyone help out there as it's been 24 hours and Facebook have not yet responded? I will lose work because of this as I am self employed.

I believe the reports are read by computers. No way humans read these. I've had my groups deleted. No explanation. I've been blocked many times. Been told 5 times I am "not a real person" and had to show them my driver's license "form of legal ID" which cannot be legal. A class action lawsuit needs to be done on that! I am one of the most active admins in groups on fb. In no way do my groups violate their rules. People are vindictive who I delete from my groups. They do not use logic... I delete 20-100 in a day? Then one or more report me and/Or my group. Duh. If it was humans they could see that.

I have my real name! I have my family with my last name. I have personal info I post in long paragraphs multiple times daily...yet 5 times now I'M not "a real person"? And why don't they keep track of who they have already verified as "a real person"? I feel fully 100% harassed. And then, they find people not guilty who I report. Who post naked penis pics and harass me for a week straight. I got blocked for days for a pic that showed cleavage/Breast crack.

There is no recourse. And no way to contact them. You have to admit guilt basically. Click and proceed. It's scary. My life is not good. The only way I connect with humans is online. They are making my life hell. And allowing people who hide behind the veil of their computers and cells to bully people to continue....and then they just laugh at facebook and us innocent ones.

I've had two groups deleted. I've been blocked up to 30 days unfairly. Had one fb page deleted. Told I'M "not a real person" 5 times. Forced to be "susan" and not "suzy" which all refer to me as in life. Smh. They have a ludicrous warning when your group gets reported...that sounds like a dr seuss rhyme...says "something" or "someone" basically DID something in your group. Huh??

I have been a Facebook member for over 10 yrs. I lost original account for posting zombie pictures. Nothing you wouldn't see on The Walking Dead.. I ended up getting account disabled.. I lost all pics videos and friends who have passed away. I can never re-add. I made another account. I am again being reported for pictures that say I have nudity or hate speech and clearly do NOT... I realize I'm being targeted. I'm trying to weed out the prude...but how can Facebook allow this?

My pics do not contain any form of nudity or hate speech... but they continue to tell me your photo has been reported. I'm being punished for something I'm NOT even doing. I've emailed FB no answer. How can they allow someone to keep reporting me? I'm being targeted... They are too quick to shut me down over a historical Hitler pic but allow ** bondage. How can they let someone target me when I bother no one. It's so bad I have deleted over half my friends list trying to nail this jerk... It's only Facebook but this is how I communicate with a lot of out of town family and friends... Help, what do I do?

I really don't know what has happened which has made Facebook block me from posting in any Groups till 28th October 2014. Well this unilateral act needs ratification as no Forum can just stop a user without a valid NOTICE. Facebook has not given me any NOTICE or warning. It may happen that a Group may have complained to Facebook - but Facebook must see the entire matter and in my case I am sure that if Facebook looks into the merits it has to beg an APOLOGY. Well there has to be a REMEDY to such high handed unilateral acts.

I have had an account on FB for over 6 years under a nickname. I have never had any complaints, caused any problems, nor have I stalked, harassed or bullied people as I have been by others. 2 weeks ago, FB froze my account because they said the name was not my true Identity. I don't put my true identity because I have been stalked in the past with violent consequences. I submitted another name. After a few days, they suspended my account again, and now insist that I provide the listed government-issued private and personal information just to let me log back in to access my friend information so I can quit FB. My personal security is under threat if I provided any of these ids to them. Any hacker could get into their system and steal these, not to mention what FB themselves sell this information for without the person's knowledge.

WHY IS THIS ALLOWED? HOW IS THEIR AMERICAN POLICY FORCED ON PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES WITH STRONG PERSONAL PRIVACY LAWS? WHAT CAN I DO? WHO CAN HELP ME? Why is it over 3 weeks since Chris Cox of Facebook said they would allow people to use nicknames yet nothing has been done and they continue to harass and bully people?

Facebook are not answering any of my messages sent by various routes to appeal what they have done. I have heard people get blocked for a few days and it turns out to be permanent. Facebook apparently stick up for crooks and oust anyone who stands up to crooks. Could it be because Facebook are a bunch of crooks? From what I have seen posted on other sites, the answer to that would have to be that they certainly are.

I placed what I thought was a $5 one day ad on Facebook. Overnight they ran it up to $350 plus. I am a single female disabled and living on ss. They took all I had in my bank account resulting in utility turnoffs and grocery money. The only resolution they have offered me is a $360 advertising credit and will not replace the money they took out of my account. I do not want more advertising. I need my money. No results so I want to plan a legal action against them stating that their advertising policy is very confusing and there is no one to call and speak to about it, just online help forums. I received no orders from this ad as I can prove in provided photo screen shots of my site. I also have a screen shot of where I signed up for the one day $5 ad as well as other proof.

They are either too worried about the Messenger issues for phones or they just don't care. But I'm finished. NO business should make you wait more than 24 hours for a response if the communication occurred on a weekday! What, if anything, can I do since it's a public social media?

It was reported that many photos were being used without permission and defamatory comments being associated with these pictures. Facebook concluded the complaint did not violate their Community Standards when obviously these innuendos & comments have created mayhem in the personal lives of the people involved.

Facebook have not shut down / remove posts and the blatant lies keep on being thrown into the public forum like a loose canon by the hate mailer. It serves no community benefit and the hate campaign continues even as I write!! From facebook, no phone helpdesk to guide us through this testing time. Wrong character projection still on the concerned page, especially created to defame a handful of people. Facebook is just a huge machine with zero people contact. I think the "RIP" time is imminent for facebook, if it continues in this unhelpful way.
