I haven't been on Facebook for a long time and the only thing I can complain about is the ads that they have on the site. Be very careful about ordering from any of them. Do your research before doing so because some are not in the United States and if you have a issue it will never get solved and you will be out the money. I have lost almost $200 in products purchased and never received or received damage and there is no recourse when this happens. And you can not complain to BBB because of them not being in the United States. So PLEASE Buyer Beware.

Social media is a drug being overused and misused. One of the reasons I joined this site was because of its popularity and its ability to connect friends family and celebrities as entertainment. But it's smoke a mirrors - it offers a false sense of connection with a few and takes your information and your images and offers them in trade to companies and, it offers no consumer protections. Like the Purple People Eater, it's best seen from a distance.

Facebook is a place to share pictures with family/friends. You don't put confidential things on there and shouldn't expect it. They have the privacy selection so not everyone can access and take pictures. This site has been given a hard time, but places like Experian can give our our social security numbers etc. Facebook is not a site that you should expect high security.

Facebook offers enough privacy but allows you to share your thoughts with others. You are able to contact lost friends or update with present friends. You can share pictures without any difficulty. Sometimes old friends will find you and this allows you to provide as much information you desire. Finally, if you have children Facebook provides enough safeguards that you feel confident your children will not be expose to any danger. Try it. You will like it!

Most people enjoy the worldwide connection. The biggest downfall is the ownership inserting personal beliefs into a worldwide sharing service is that the entire world does NOT share or want ownerships views restricting their own views!!! If the company wants to be classified a true voice of independence then the company needs to allow all views even if different than the company views. People worldwide will revolt and design a different service they like in time.

Facebook provides an equal balance of frustration and entertainment IF you overlook the invasion of privacy issues. Frustration stemming from the overwhelming ignorance and falsehoods. Entertainment if you are able to bypass personalities and seek out only groups that align with your interests. Like MCM? There are tons of groups. Like sewing, animals, sports? Yep! There are groups for that as well. A cautious approach and a refusal to “sign in with Facebook” to apps will help eliminate some of the FB clutter. Also keeping posts private, searches limited and unfollowing sketchy or irritating people or groups will help keep things pleasant.

As a 20 year veteran of online sales in addition to sales in brick and mortar I thought I'd give Facebook Marketplace a try. Marketplace is a place you can post items you want to sell and browse for items you want to buy. Sellers and buyers typically meet in a relatively secure public place or buyers come to the seller's home or business.
When I initially signed up for Facebook in 2016 I found that I did not even have access to Marketplace. They apparently have a undetermined waiting period. I found it disturbing that they would invite you to sell items yet block anyone new to Facebook from seeing your items for months - even for over a year as some others have reported. Could you imagine eBay or Amazon doing this? An utterly insane form of doing business.
After ignoring Facebook I checked back in 2019 and now see I have access to the Marketplace. When I attempted to list my first item I was told there suddenly an issue with my account and they needed to send a verification code to my phone. I provide them with my landline number and failed to send any code. I provide them with a cellphone number and I complete the process. They then claim there is an issue with my account and they need me to provide a copy on my license. I replied that I was not going to provide a photo or any other information as they already had a verified phone number, a verified email address and my physical address where I've lived since 1973. I told them if they had an issue with this then I was going to contact my U.S. Senator and my State's AG to inquire about their unwarranted requests.
After a few days I was able to list items. I initially posted 15 items and sold two within a couple days for $61 with buyers coming to my home. I then prepared 106 further listings. While posting the first 45 of these Facebook suddenly started sending messages that certain items violated their so called Commerce polices. I then find my ability to list further items removed. For each item I am expected to enter in the item's description as an appeal. Gee, how about Facebook checking that on their own first. They act like they don't want your business.
After doing research I find that Facebook employs bots to check your item titles for keywords or phrases and to flag items. These include terms which are related to their list of banned items. Thus if you list a art print of birds your listing will be flagged because "birds" is in the title and animals can't be sold on Facebook. List some animal figurines they are flagged for the same reason. A art print of children created in the imagination of the artist is flagged as it contains "children". They apparently didn't spend any of the $22 billion they made in 2018 on their bots. This type of behavior is not seen with sites such as eBay and Amazon, where I've sold since 1999. If you list an item in a category such as Native American on eBay, eBay might display a general warning to read but your items are not flagged unless an actual person reports them. None of the items I listed on Facebook would be flagged on eBay.
Other items appear to be flagged because they contain a brand name. It is illegal under The First Sale Doctrine for Facebook and third companies to conspire to prevent you from reselling authentic goods you own as long as you are not representing yourself an an authorized dealer for the company or otherwise connected with the company. Most of the things they are flagging, apparently due to brand names, make no sense at all as we are not talking about fake Gucci bags here, but every day items. In some cases they flag one-of-a-kind handmade items.
Within days of listing items another Facebook user sends a message claiming they had setup an appointment and that I was not home to complete a transaction. I had no such appointment and there are no Facebook messages stating this. Another member sends a message request with the phrase "scammer" as a form of harassment. There is no prior messages from this person and I don't respond as Facebook displays a little warning message stating that this person will have access to my phone number if I respond. That is strange because my settings are set to hide my phone number. So someone can send you a harassing message request in order to harass you and try to get further contact information and Facebook does nothing about it.
I suspect a number of the items being flagged are in fact being falsely reported by other competing sellers in order get rid of the competition. Once again there are no consequences for these users as they can do this completely anonymously. Each time two or more items are falsely flagged or reported Facebook then suddenly prevents me from listing any more items although they do not send you a message they've done this. Your items simply will not post any longer. They also never provide a specific reason.
Each ban can last multiple hours to a day or more after which time you might be able to list one more item or several, some of which are also falsely flagged or reported thus setting another ban cycle. As I was not able to list items I used the time to create some drafts to be listed later. After the second one Facebook suddenly starts requiring me to complete one or more picture captchas just to save a draft. After saving three drafts they suddenly display a large message stating the following:
"You're Temporarily Blocked.""It looks like you were misusing this feature by going to fast. You've been blocked from using it."
"Learn more about blocks in the Help Center."
"If you think this goes against our Community Standards let us know"
Yes, folks Facebook does not want you to use its site too fast. So now I can't even complete drafts. If I am such a bad seller how come 9 nine people have picked up items for $424 in the last four days? So why exactly are advertisers paying Facebook when they go out of their way to prevent users from using the site and provide a horrible experience? I'd be spending my advertising dollars elsewhere if I were them.
I didn't complete the process of setting up a Facebook store after determining that they wanted store owners to input a base shipping price for all items and a base shipping price for reach additional item. That is the sort of thing you's see on a third rate website a decade or more ago. Anyone with even a tiny amount of online sales experience knows you need to a calculated shipping system based upon package sizes, package weights, the distance a package travels and a host of related inputs. Facebook is utterly clueless about selling physical goods online.
Facebook lacks any type of customer service and thus has no accountability. It is time Congress, state legislators and state AGs start telling Facebook exactly how they must operate as opposed to how Facebook thinks they can operate. Facebook has no inherit right to do business in any state. That is a privilege granted by the citizens of the state via their elected representative. Well Facebook, you've now are going to get a written complaint with the FTC, my state's AG, and my US Senator. If you advertise on Facebook I for one will not being buying your products because you support a abusive monster.

I had an account in my real name for many years when I received the "suspicious activity" message. I submitted a new photo only to discover later my account was disabled permanently with no reason given. I tried to set up another one days later, only to have it removed as well. Facebook does target and monitor closely people who have been blocked from posting numerous times, so much so that if you get reported you'll get a ban automatically, even when it clearly did not violate their so-called community standards, which are arbitrary and capricious at best. For all the conservatives/regressives whining about being unfairly targeted, give me a break. It happens to liberals/progressives equally alike.

One was reversed the other has not despite being reviewed. The one they refuse to reverse is a set of messages sent directly to me by someone who I do not know, who blocked me after sending their abuse. This left me with zero recourse as I cannot find their profile, nor is there any way to report them in the window. They have blocked me for 30 days. Both of the recent strikes were listed as reasons for my block but I was the VICTIM. All of my abusers are going on without any sort of consequence because I cannot use the report system while blocked. Facebook has been sent multiple messages from multiple platforms and yet hasn't responded or reversed this. They do not care about the victims of bullying.

I haven’t used my Facebook account in some time due to illness. I tried to activate Messenger today, and had to log in with my user email and my password, which I did. However, I then got a screen saying I had to verify my identity by either having a code sent by text to my cell phone or uploading a copy of my ID. Since the cell phone numbers they had are old ones, I couldn’t use that option, so I reluctantly uploaded a copy of my ID. I’m not at all comfortable with that! I then got a message saying I would be contacted via email regarding my account once my ID was verified. That was this morning, it’s now early evening and I’ve received no such email.
Since I can no longer access my account, and Facebook failed to contact me AFTER receiving a copy of my ID, I feel my ID was gotten fraudulently, and plan to delete Facebook, Messenger, and anything else Facebook related. BUT NOT UNTIL I RECEIVE PROOF OF SOME SORT THAT MY ID COPY THEY RECEIVED VIA UPLOAD IS. DELETED FROM THEIR POSSESSION. I also plan to file a complaint with whatever regulatory commission overwatches sites of this sort. But in the meantime, there seems to be no one I can speak to at Facebook to gain assurances about the copy of my ID being deleted from their records.
This occurred directly on Facebook’s Messenger App, not a website. I feel like a fool for having provided my identity to Facebook! And I still can’t access my account, despite having my user ID and password, and they refuse to reply. Facebook is definitely obtaining personal information fraudulently, and holding users' accounts hostage to get it!

Facebook labeled mentioning that AFTER the guy already offed himself as hate speech and/or Bullying. The shooter will never read my comment. That's a load of crap. I was actually bullied as a kid. That means taunted, teased, punched, kicked etc. Try IN PERSON. Mentioning this guy could have saved a lot of other people time and trouble AFTER he is dead...is not bullying, nor was his race/ethnicity ever mentioned. This is not 'bullying' nor hate speech. I’m writing this because Facebook has been having a field day with constantly banning my account in 30 day increments. Ironically the first and last time were for “bullying/harassment”. Not once did I make a threat towards anyone. And using a meme and no words really shows how Facebook works. Especially considering most people who get banned for meme posting.... THEY FOUND THEM ON FACEBOOK TO BEGIN WITH!
In my opinion and the opinion of many others, those that work at Facebook have taken it upon themselves to target my account. Especially considering I just came off of my second ban (one that was given no reason why it happened) 7 days prior. That is what we call bullying/harassment. I find it rather funny as well that people make valid insults or post pictures of a sitting president blowing their brains out and it’s completely ok. Now fast forward to today where if you do not align with their liberal fascist views you get unfairly targeted and banned again and again. You could report comments directly made about your race, or family and when they "review" it of course it does not go against the "community standards" but if the person who's targeted says "If you had a brain, you'd be dangerous" and get a 30 day ban.
I don't want to lose contact with family and friends I've had for over ten years but I guess I have to delete my account or try and sue these tyrants. I personally hope this company goes belly up or somebody starts a new social network where you can actually be social and not have to worry about trolls being allowed to attack everything about you that should be against the community standards but their incompetent and weak admins only do something about it if the comment has more conservative views. No verbiage was used, I didn’t even put a name. This far left extreme website influences our youth by their continued support for terrorizing groups like Antifa and Al Qaeda but you can’t even defend yourself against these goons as they troll your page. It’s despotism at its best on display. A clear favor to socialism and any attack on the freedoms of liberty and speech. It should be shut down. This isn’t a social network, it’s THE socialist network. It’s blatant censorship on anything not feeding its own agenda is disturbing to say the least.

For whatever reason, FB is no longer recognizing any of my devices I use to log in each day, not a big deal except I’m also no longer receiving my 6 digit SMS code that allows me to log in. So a week ago, tomorrow and again today I have sent them a copy of my driver’s license and also a picture of myself with the code provided in view but I haven’t heard anything back. I’m more frustrated that my first grandbaby was born this week and I can’t even share the news with my family and friends nor can her pictures me shared with me. My friends and family can go to my page with no problems and there’s nothing questionable posted, so I’m baffled as to why I’m suddenly having these issues. So disappointing because I can’t access my FB, Messenger, or my Instagram.

I created my first Facebook account last week and added a shop page to advertise my online products. Facebook took my card number and info then disable my account twice, within two days as I finished designing my product catalog. I signed up again thinking it was a fluke and re-designed my shop and posted my products again. The same day I was asked for a scanned copy of my photo DL/ID or mails/bills. I gave them all; to show it is really me. They disabled my account again. I did not do anything to infringe this wrath. My credit card is still actively in hand of Facebook and as we speak I am paying for advertisements for the products which customers can't buy; thanks to imbeciles running the Facebook. My account is disabled with no true explanation.
I have sent them my DL and photos and documents from a scanned copy of my bills to my postal mail envelopes. They don't even acknowledge if they received them or if they are satisfied with the documents or not. Facebook's reason for disabling my account was to review my picture and to protect my security. Who are they kidding; Facebook corporation does not care about protecting customer's security just to increase their profit margins. That is all. I wish I didn't create an account with them and if I could log in to my account now, I would remove my credit card and delete the account permanently; But I cannot. I now hate Facebook and what it stands for beyond belief. How is that working for the best social media platform?

Let's just start by saying Facebook is the most one sided company on the internet. If you don't agree with the Liberal Democrat views on Facebook you will be banned over and over. If you say the word Muslim and have anything negative to say, even if just responding to a comment you will be banned. If you believe for instance that ** people should all be killed, you will not be banned. If you cite a true statistic unfavorable to a Muslim you will be banned, even if it is a known fact. The worst thing on Facebook is the ads from China companies. I have purchased maybe 4 products over the years, and without fail my credit card would be charged as many times possible every single times. The biggest concern is that they are liars and spy on you, lie about everything and steal all your info even if you try to stop this in your settings. In essence Facebook has turned into a left wing nanny state and only for Democrat agendas and such.

I have been on Facebook since it started, many decades ago. It would seem that now, it's becoming a liberal, fascist format. They use what they call "community standards" to control people's speech. There are no set standards, per se, but these "standards" are interpreted loosely by obviously liberal fascists, and any "wrong-thinking", or reference to any "wrong-thinking" is punished by blocking the account. So, it's not only what YOU say, but what your friends say, and anything you cite or share. Time to find another social site that has the voice of ALL the people in mind.

Despite creating a group that was secret and not listed; that only those whom I invited to it would be able to see, the group and my personal account were blocked for 30 days. OK I set about trying to make the group conform to their "community standards" which I've been tweaking the group's settings bit by bit for the last couple of months. The worst part is that unlike most others sites where if you have somehow violated their guidelines and you get some sort of warning, in the case of Facebook, it's like walking through a minefield! Your first and only warning is no warning at all but getting your account blocked or banned. I'm all for having a "family friendly" environment since Facebook is trying to have quantity of any and all ages. I accidentally locked myself out of my account, have no way to get in, and the only way I can directly speak with anyone at Facebook, is by emailing the memorization request page. They ignored my other messages, which they even admit they might not respond to. The issue is that I don't have many privacy settings set up, and anyone can post on my wall or tag me without me approving it. Not smart, but now that I want to change that, I can't!
I emailed Facebook to ask for help, and they responded with a bunch of ways to get back in. I responded telling them how none of this works for me. I forgot my password, and have been logging in by clicking my name (a new option they came out within the past year or so), I had to get a new phone number but couldn't change it because I didn't know my password, and somehow it's not set up through my email, so I can't verify through there, and I had to get a new phone and I have no computer so I can't verify through a trusted device. I have NO way to get in, and that sounds stupid, but it can happen to anyone.
I accidentally broke my phone, had to get a new one, and found myself locked out of Facebook because of it. I had been trying to set up a legacy contact, but could not get in to do that. The only way I kept logging in was because I stayed logged in on that device. And Facebook doesn't care, even though I am no longer able to control my privacy settings. In fact, someone tagged me in a post that all my friends saw recently... She was trying to start drama, accused me of stealing from her and damaging her property, and basically trying to ruin my name. That's actually the reason I emailed Facebook, I told them she was going to, and they did nothing to help me. And I'm now unable to protect myself against vicious personal attacks. I can't believe this is happening, it's like a nightmare.

The censors have banned me for posting a pic of Fred G. Sanford insulting Aunt Esther, calling that 'hate speech'. If that's hate speech, it was fine for TV when originally broadcast, & fine EVERY time it was broadcast in reruns. I have numerous message requests from MY customers wishing to purchase items that I had posted for sale, but I have no way to reply to those customers, therefore, Facebook is costing me my livelihood, in addition to denying me contact to my nearly 5,000 friends and followers. Correction, a while back over 1,000 friends & followers disappeared overnight in an apparent Facebook PURGE of conservatives.
How long will Facebook be allowed to dictate who users are allowed to be in contact with? Since they have been ruled by numerous courts to be 'the public square', and therefore required to observe the US Bill Of Rights, I believe they should be sanctioned by the courts & required to pay restitution and punitive punishments for these violations of the US Constitution for deprivation of rights in these matters. Even while I have been banned from any interactions on Facebook, I have received another 'violation' for some post from some time in the past which I don't remember. So they are actively searching past posts, looking for ANYTHING which MAY be used as another violation of their vague & left leaning censorship rules. If Facebook insists upon communist policies, they should be ejected from The United States & take up residence in a communist country, NOT the USA.

When Facebook locks down a personal account to authenticate the user's name, any conversations that user had with friends, colleagues, etc via the Messenger are tagged with the following disclaimer in lieu of the user's responses: "This message is no longer available because it was identified as abusive or marked as spam." That is, for the next 24 to 84 hours while Facebook's censors review the user's ID, the user is displayed to the world of their friends as an abuser, spammer, or otherwise a social media criminal. One would think that for a multi-billion dollar company with 25K+ employees, they would be able to program a message that clearly distinguishes name authentication lock-down from abusive behavior lock-down.
