I’ve been a Capital One customer for years and have always paid on time. Recently, I asked for a practical solution to high ongoing APR or a plan to accelerate paying down the balance. Instead of helpful guidance or options (like a temporary rate reduction, a balance transfer offer, or a payment plan), I was met with dismissiveness and a complete lack of real support. It felt like they gave me the runaround, offered no alternatives, and essentially told me to figure it out on my own. If this is how they treat loyal customers who just need a reasonable path to less interest, I’ll be reconsidering where I keep my credit card business. Capital One, you can do better.

I have a Capital One credit card. The credit line itself is fine. However, I have found the customer service wholly unhelpful. I am living abroad and currently don't have access to the US number I used when signing up for the account. When logging in to my online account, I was prompted to use 2-factor authentification, but they will only use a phone number and not an email address, so I was stuck.

I called the customer service number-- fine, I don't mind a little inconvenience if they're following security protocol-- but I was very disappointed that no solution was offered. The response was basically, "Well... we don't accept foreign phone numbers and authentification has to be via phone so... sucks for you!" Basically there's no way for me to use online banking while abroad. I'm shocked. I could answer all the information about myself from when I signed up for the account, but they won't accept anything but a phone number.

Ok, since I can't get into my account, I asked the rep if she can start a balance transfer for me, but again... oh that requires authentification with a US mobile number. She did have a work around involving me sending in pictures of my ID, but after giving her my email address, I never received the link I would need to make my request. Perhaps she should have stayed on the line to make sure I received the email.

I have multiple bank accounts with different banks, so I have some experience with customer service reps, including dealing with living abroad and I have to say this is the worst, least accommodating service I've gotten from any banking institution. And the attitude of "Well, sorry, nothing we can do" is very disappointing. I guess I won't be using this credit card.

My credit card is an Auto pay from Capital One. Most of the times I am paying them my Balance before it is due but this is the first time happened that they charge my Financial Institution (Bank) Twice. I called them that I paid them July 18 already and then I saw from my Bank statement they charge me again on August 11 with the same amount so they said I will get my refund in 10 days by mail. It is good that I monitoring my Bank Statement otherwise I am a loser here. I said to myself that I will not pay my Credit card balance in advance. I will just let Autopay do it.

Capital One credit card company has terrible overseas customer service representatives trained to tell you no. Capital one credit card stole $40 from me and would not refund it to this day.. I made my payment on the date that it was due not realizing they had an 8 PM cut off time. When you read your payment due on such a date you think that you have until 11:59 PM that day to make your payment but no not with capital one! So they posted my payment the next day, which made it late charge me $40 fee and then two weeks later changed their policy so you could make your payments up until 11:59 PM but still will not refund me my $40.

Their overseas customer service representatives are trained to tell you no, the supervisors are trained to tell you no, they are also overseas. I do not recommend anybody getting a capital one credit card. Their fees are enormous. Their interest rates are unbelievable. It’s a trap and they should be ashamed of themselves for what they do to people who are already struggling in our Social Security

I had purchased a room through booking.com for Fourth of July weekend. The hotel I booked at had bed bugs and I refused to stay in that room so I purchased another hotel room at a different hotel that same night. My bf and I literally stayed in the room for an hour and thank god he noticed the bed bugs on the floor because we would have been screwed. Anyways, because I booked through Booking.com I knew I had to go to them to get the refund which I called booking that night, but they did absolutely nothing to help me. They said that it was through a third party company which makes no sense because booking is literally the third party company, so I hung up on them. Didn't get a case number because there was no case for they didn't help me! So I called up capital one to dispute the charge.

I provided a letter of the situation, a PICTURE OF THE BEDBUG AND A BITE THAT I GOT OF THE BED BUG WITH TIME STAMPS(and by the way it's ILLEGAL for hotel rooms to have bed bug infestation which Capital One just didn't seem to care about that, and the charges for both of the hotel rooms. All for capital one to tell me that they can't assist with the claim because they wanted proof I called booking.com. Are you kidding me?

First off, no one informed me that I needed proof of whatever invoice from booking.com other than the receipt of the confirmation that showed more than enough details and secondly I provided pictures with timestamps and even proof of the purchases with time stamps! So guess what. I will be paying off whatever I owe to you guys including that dispute money, and I will be closing my account because you guys are absolute trash. Money grubbing company. Anyone reading this, DO NOT get a capital one credit card. Completely unhelpful and for someone who has NEVER disputed a claim before in the past through this credit card and ACTUALLY PROVIDED PROOF, you guys are awful.

I called to see if I might have done something wrong, They said no just reducing my credit amount because I don't use it all the credit I have available, I felt discourage, disappointed and upset all at the same time. I told them if they move forward reducing my credit amount that I will leave and take my business somewhere else. They didn't seem to care, they didn't even try to keep my business. Do not open a Capital One checking or savings account until you read this: My daughter started her first job, and my wife helped her open a Capital One checking account to assist with her finances. The card arrived, and direct deposit was set up. However, when the card didn't work, we encountered continuous "verification" issues. Together, my wife and daughter called six times, talking to numerous representatives and even their "manager", and interacted with the verification department.

They provided their names, card information, Social Security number, birthdate, address, phone number, sent a picture of the license, and an email address, through which they received a link to verify their details. Still, they could not verify the account. After an hour and a half and for the twelfth time speaking to different people, it was stated that verification had to be in person at a Capital One location, which is four hours away. Consequently, my daughter's first paycheck of $124.00 is now inaccessible.

What is frustrating is that my wife is already associated with the account and possesses other Capital One cards. You would think her phone number would suffice for verification. Furthermore, they had a link through my daughter’s email. We are discussing sensitive information like birthdate, Social Security number, and a picture of her license that she provided during a phone call. Typically, you can activate a debit card over the phone with a 1-800 number, providing the card number, expiration date, 3-digit code, and last four digits of your Social Security number.

I advise against opening a Capital One checking or savings account. It is incredibly distressing that they cannot devise a straightforward solution to this issue, other than requiring us to drive four hours to present a driver’s license and Social Security card in person. The customer service representatives seem scripted and offer no real solutions. It has been a total waste of time.

I got remarried in August of 2020 and changed my name. I have updated my legal on all of my government identification and other accounts. However, Capital One is incapable of updating my accounts with my legal name. I have made several attempts, via online, phone calls and mail, to have this corrected. Despite submitting hard copies of the certified government documentation to them per the instructions their customer service representatives gave me on at least 2 different occasions, I have been notified that they are not able to update my name in any of these ways. Furthermore, they did not give me any additional instructions on how to get the name fixed.

Short of smoke signals or semaphore, I am not sure how else to get them to update the legal name on the registration of my accounts. They have, however, been able to update my cards with erroneous and misspelled names and report these names to the credit reporting agencies like Equifax, which I am now disputing...again. I am seriously considering closing my long-standing accounts.

Capital One was very first credit card I owned. Sadly went downhill fast. After a few months started noticing the company/auto call kept reapplying an incorrect bank number and putting it through to pay off. I tried to resolve the issue many times. I was surprised they didn’t give me a heads up that the number was incorrect from the previous one. After many talks they refused to help fix an incorrect bank number that I’ve been trying to get them to correct but kept allowing it through after I told them not to. Thus they had caused more suspicious activity on my account.

After the following day Capital One had closed my account after talking to the fraud specialist and followed directions to send my bank statement the previous day. Capital One had just completely shut me out without warning. I am just baffled. I never went over my balance, nor missed any payments. And this downfall was because of a mistake of an account number. They could have helped put the correct one in, but didn’t. Even with having proof. I am unsure if I ever want to go back to them again. Even the manager didn’t sound like he even cared to help resolve the issue. Despite my last payment going through from my “correct” bank account. Anyone who is thinking of going with Capital One, esp if you were new like me, be very careful of your transaction. Even the smallest mistake they won’t go out of their way to resolve it. They just assume it’s a fraud account.

Capital One fraud department representatives are rude. I don’t care about their customers after a customer discovers fraud on their credit card. I have had a visa card with this company for over 30 years, have perfect credit and a 840 FICO score. Once you report fraud on your visa card, after you receive your replacement card, every time you attempt to use card to charge for goods or services over the phone or online, all charges will be declined by Capital One. It won’t matter how many times you call to get this corrected, once you have reported fraud on your credit card, you will never be able to use it again, except if you have the card on you and present card in person.

Capital One has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Each time the charges I attempted to make with merchants on my card were denied, I would call customer service and they would tell me that once your card is reported as having fraudulent charges, their system is set up to reject all purchases for service and goods done online or by phone.

I’ve been a customer with this company for over 30 years and I got angry with one customer service rep out of the 8 I spoke with over 30 days. I got rep from fraud department on phone my CPA was trying to charge my card. Rep promised she would make sure charge went through. When it didn’t after the third attempt by my CPA, the customer rep told me the following: “I don’t know what to tell you“. I felt so dismissed and disregarded by Capital One that I got angry with this representative.

The apology I did not receive after being a customer for over 30 years, paying my bill on time every month, was a letter from their “management team (no one on management team had courage to sign their name to the slaughter. Instead letter from nameless management team, inform me they had canceled my credit card for my “abusive behavior toward their customer service rep on September 11, 2025”.

Before I receive this letter, I attempted to escalate the continued rejection of charge as I was attempting to make with my visa card, to no avail. Capital One be ashamed of themselves for treating any customer the way they treated me and then adding such an incredible insult of canceling my card is beyond egregious behavior by this company.

In my opinion… They actually owe me an apology and a new credit card. I intend to contact CEO, CFO and make sure this review also gets posted across as many social media platforms as possible. Capital One should not be able to get away with treating customers in this manner even after I called to request that letter they sent me get escalated and to Paul **, where they allege I was abusive toward their incompetent staff. Can anyone appreciate what it is like to have perfect credit, do business with a credit card company for over 30 years and have it call my name And this outrageous and offensive letter that was mailed to me.

Fast forward two months and they had closed out my accounts and mailed me checks with the balances therein to my home claiming I failed to verify the customer information they had requested. I called them and explained what had happened and they refused to act at first, but as the conversation wore on the girl on the phone who I was able to inspire to dig deeper came up with information which revealed that it was indeed a mistake on Capital One’s mistake.

She escalated the incident and they reinstated my accounts. I figured even after all this I’d give the another shot because after all it was only a mistake, however after promptly depositing the settlement checks capital one had sent me with my balances back into the accounts which had been zeroed out by capital one, the accounts remained at a zero balance for days. I then called in to address my concerns. After 30-45 minutes they released the funds immediately on the smaller check deposit, however refused to release the larger deposit stating the amount as the reason.

Capital one mistakenly closed my accounts, sent me checks from capital one, and now they are refusing to release my funds which I have deposit back in to my reopened account using checks issued by them. They claim I must wait for the check to clear within 10 business days. Long story short folks, make sure you own gold, silver, and Bitcoin and hold the keys in a private, secured wallet, and don’t trust the government or banks.

I recently had a terrible experience with Capital One’s customer service. As a minority woman and new business owner, I opened a business account and was asked to verify my business name, which I promptly did. Despite this, my account was closed without explanation. When I called customer service, the representative, "Shakila", vaguely stated it was due to “the rule governing,” and repeatedly referred me to their website, which only contained general information. When I asked to speak with a manager, she claimed no one was available.

I then asked a more experienced friend—who has multiple accounts with Capital One—to assist. He received the same vague responses, but after pressing harder and emphasizing the lack of transparency and due process, she finally agreed to connect us to a manager. The manager was able to provide specific reasons for the account closure. This experience was not only unprofessional, but also unethical and deeply disappointing. It reflects a lack of accountability and disregard for customers’ basic rights to clarity and fair treatment.

Capital One 360. Misleading Bonus Offer and Unprofessional Customer Service – Beware! I want to warn others about my extremely disappointing experience with Capital One. I received a promotional offer stating that if I opened a new debit account, deposited $1,000, and kept the balance for two months, I would receive a $300 bonus. I followed every step exactly as instructed, using the specific referral link they provided. I kept my money in the account for the full two months, expecting the promised bonus.

When the bonus didn’t arrive, I called customer service. They told me the payment was simply delayed and assured me I would receive it during the third month. However, after waiting the full three months, I called again, only to be told that I supposedly did not meet the requirements. What’s worse, they showed me an entirely different set of “rules” than the ones originally advertised.

I know these terms were changed, because friends of mine who signed up slightly earlier under the exact same offer received their bonuses without any issue. When I pointed this out, the representatives were dismissive, unhelpful, and even rude. They tried to gaslight me, insisting I must have misunderstood everything, even though I clearly followed the original terms.

It’s clear to me that Capital One is running a misleading promotion and then shifting the rules afterward to avoid paying out the promised bonuses. This feels like a scam and a complete breach of trust. I cannot recommend doing business with a bank that engages in such deceptive practices and treats customers with such disrespect.

I've been using CapitalOne since 2017 and always recommending it to families and friends literally every single time banking and savings are discussed. Currently, I have 5 accounts with CapitalOne. I was wondering why there are so many negative reviews, yet I didn't have any issues with them and thought maybe customer service was really bad - and I don't really experience it since I am mostly doing online banking.

I opened up an account for my mother who is no longer working, and not familiar with online banking. I signed her up for credit (and deposited the $200 minimum required funds to get a credit card - which was new to me. I was never required to do that in the past). I also opened up a savings account for her so I can easily just give her a spending allowance, and initially deposited a $500 check.

She received an email that there seemed to be a problem with the account, and so we logged in to her account to check. There's a note to call the CapitalOne number, and so I did. I am always very calm and respectful, but this lady we spoke to really did test our patience. My mother just migrated with us, so she is not really comfortable yet speaking, and completely not familiar with online stuff. As usual, since it was me calling, she needed to verify and talk to my mother, so I handed my mother the phone and proceeded with the verification.

I was trying to transfer from my CapitalOne account to my mother, but the CapitalOne online banking is not letting me do that. So I wrote a check using my business checking in order to make the required deposit. The lady sounded like we were doing fraud or something, and she needed to verify the business. She asked for my number and my business number. I gave it to her and told her she can just call and ask who the owner is. She cannot verify if I really am the owner of the business, so I asked what steps she's doing to verify. It wouldn't be a problem to me since I really am the owner. No proper answer was given.

To cut the story short, after verifying my mother's identity and sending over her ID thru secured link, the lady still said since I am doing all the talking - her exact words, I should have gotten a Special Power of Attorney first, this and that... I asked what's wrong, can I not help my mother set up her account, and can I not give her funds to spend? She said I can never have access to my mother's account, even though to just help her set-up the account online, and insisted on that Special Power of Attorney. She's also doubtful about the ownership of my own business and how we obtained that check, which is extremely frustrating. Everything could have been handled differently, but making us feel like we are doing something illegal is unacceptable. My mom said just cancel the account, but lady said we cannot and must do it in person.

The terrible reviews about CapitalOne customer service are all true! I am familiar with the use of SPAs, but I doubt I would need that to give money to other people - especially to family members. And I doubt I would need that to help an elderly who is not familiar with using computers to set up an account. OR maybe I'm wrong?? Very frustrating and outrageous. It's true what other people say about CapitalOne, they really don't care about their customers, even long time ones!

Your card gets compromised. It gets cancelled, and you need a replacement. They send you a text message to confirm it is actually you. Then they want you to take a photo of yourself and send it to them. Now, if you don't text and are using a flip phone, as some seniors are still doing, you are in for major problems. Plus, they will not give you the new number so you can update the necessary items such as Amazon, tunnel tolls, Netflix, etc. You must wait until the new card comes in the mail. It really is a stupid procedure. With Costco Visa you can accomplish everything online immediately. With USAA, they will overnight you a new card. With Capital One, they will mail you a new card when yours expires but when it is compromised, they could care less about helping you resolve the issue expediently. I only have this card because I belong to BJ's and if it wasn't for that membership, I would never ever have a Capital One card.

If you are over by $0.01, you are declined. They do NOT do partial release of check deposits like of banking institutions like Bank of America, Fourleaf FCU, etc. And even if you deposited a government issued check and call to get it verified for release in an emergency situation, you are in trouble if that check was deposited on a holiday or a Friday, because you still have to wait until Monday to get your funds. I have called them 9 times and I have sent 3 different copies of my son’s power bill as the fraud department requested, and so far nothing has been done in 3 weeks time. I asked to talk to a manager at Capital One and they will not transfer me, saying the managers don’t talk to customers. It is the worst service I have ever had. By the way, the payment/charge for my son’s power bill went through immediately using my JPMorgan Chase credit card. I would give Capital One zero stars if I could.

You have to contact capital one EVERY SINGLE TIME you need to access one of your other checking accounts. It’s inconvenient, a hassle and as a customer I should be able to decide how many debit cards active I can have. Not HAPPY. Then when calling to express my concerns there were several CSRs that were rude, they interrupted and never provided additional support.

I had a Capital One checking account linked to a checking account from another bank. Last year, I closed that external account for security reasons and opened a new one. This year, I opened a Capital One credit card, which was automatically linked to the same online profile I previously used for checking. When it came time to make a payment on the new credit card, I saw a checking account already linked - so I used it without thinking. Unfortunately, it was the old, now-closed account. The payment was rejected. I immediately corrected the error and paid from my new, valid account.

That’s when the nightmare began. Capital One started asking for endless documentation - one request after another - with each review taking 10 business days. I complied with everything they asked for, quickly and fully. After two months of this back-and-forth, they abruptly closed my account with no explanation. Let me be clear: I’ve never missed a payment. I have perfect credit. And this is how Capital One treats responsible customers. They’ve permanently lost me as a customer. I will never use another Capital One product again, and I strongly urge anyone reading this to think twice before trusting a company this careless and incompetent.

Awful experience for me so far. I got the card and did not get a notification like I thought I would for my payment until it was late. It was due on the 11th, I got the notification on the 12th and paid my entire balance plus a $25 late fee. The site says payment typically posts same day if paid before 8 pm. I had paid it in the morning. 4 days later and still nothing. I call in and they say since it's my first payment they sometimes hold payment until they get money from my bank. Well my bank sent the money the next day and switched from pending to posted. They then said it will not be applied to my available credit for 8 days from my payment date. I can guarantee they have my payment already. Once my bank says posted it would take at most 1 day for them to have my payment. I called in twice and they Said typically your payment is applied same day. To which I said yes it's day 4. Well typically.

They are worse than a broken record giving information that is of no use to me or even relevant to my situation. So there is the second misleading information I have received on one month with this company. I was supposed to get an notification from the app and it resulted in a $25 fee plus interest charge I am sure. Now they are sitting on my payment collecting more interest when my payment should be available on the first day. Lies, lies, lies. I don't trust this company at all. Oh yeah the first call into customer service transferred me to a specialist to try to apply my payment now. I sat on hold for an hour and got disconnected. The second guy was no help at all. Just repeated what the website said when though it did not apply to me at all. Trash customer service times two. Trash app stating wrong information times two. Months with crooked company times one.

I went to the manager of the RV Park and complained. She said since I reserved the room at that price I had to pay that. The room was suppose to be $225. They charged me $271.00 for 5 nights. I disputed the price and sent all the documentation into Capital One proving what I paid and the actual cost of the room for that week. I never signed for the room so they didn't have my signature at all. I was only disputing the difference of price.

After I argued the price with the manager - she charged my credit card after I left. Since I couldn't give Capital One a receipt because I didn't sign and never received one, I couldn't dispute the charge. I told Capital One, show me my signature for this charge. CapitalOne contacted me to request proof of identity and proof of residence. I promptly uploaded all the documents they requested. I uploaded my NY State Driver's License as proof of ID, a few other documents that prove my identity as well as a Con Edison invoice as proof of my residence.

However, for some strange reason they did not accept my ConEd invoice as proof of residence. I called CapitalOne to see what the issue was and they kept insisting that what I uploaded was not a bill because it had a "FINAL NOTICE" message on it. The invoice I uploaded (which is an actual bill) has all the information on it just as any bill has, the full name, the full account number as well as the full address of my residence.

So I then uploaded the ConEd invoice (bill) again and called them to explain that I do not have any other bills except for the ConEd electric bill. Meanwhile, time has passed since the initial opening on the credit card. Once my new invoice from ConEd was available, I uploaded the new invoice (bill) to them, but at this point they already said that it is outside of the timeframe that they needed to receive my proof of residence and they closed my account. So here's brief recap of what happened... They requested documents with proof of my ID and address. I uploaded the documents they requested. They rejected my Con Edison BILL. Then they closed my account.

Now most banks do this and you can call in and correct it. Not with Capital One, they are at the mercy of their system and not one person has the ability to correct the automated system so you can get back into your bank accounts. There is a long list of reps who each either informed me incorrectly or didn’t inform me at all that caused this to happen. No one there knows what they’re doing and if they did Capital One doesn’t give reps the ability to actually problem solve. I had to report this to The Comptroller of the Currency.

Under no circumstances should someone be denied access to their money like this. I should have been able to call in and confirm things were okay and continue to access my money. I’m no longer going to bank with them and that’s after banking with them since 2016. It feels like they’re more interested in making money off fees than helping customers out when life happens. The host and Airbnb would do absolutely nothing so I disputed the charge with Capital One. Their response was that I should have cancelled and moved to another place - whether it be another Airbnb or a hotel. The problem with that was that the Airbnb host would not allow any refund for a cancellation after we had checked in.

We didn't discover the maintenance issue until AFTER we had checked in and because of the cancellation policy, I would have to have paid the full amount for the Airbnb and whatever another place would have cost. Not an option. Even after explaining that to Capital One, they still stood by their decision. I was in a no win situation no matter what I did. The reason why they change the interest rates on the balance and who needs late fees when they can get more on said interest. Then when you make a large payment to bring down your balance it will post on your banking institution but they hold it off for 9 days before posting it to your cc account thus getting you for a little bit more on the interest they changed on your balance. Forget trying to make more than one payment a month you will be bounced around like a pinball by someone from the sounds of it in India. What's in your wallet, it won't be this card. They have no loyalty.

Finally, and this one is on me because I was struggling with them anyway, against my better judgment I did “apply as a new customer” which now affects my credit reports, to their venture X card, immediately approved with a high limit. But was told my old credit card rewards points would be combined with the new card. So I closed the old card. Only to find out they do not combine. They need to be “transferred” and now that the account is closed. There is nothing they can do. Only option was to redeem for cash at half value. Again did not offer any consolation, offer to apply anything to the new account. Was told “if you called and spoke to a representative instead of doing it online it would have been made more clear to you”. So I closed all my accounts including my savings account. Two months later, I got the same message again — but never received a response. I wait on the line for 30 minutes every day. I went to a Capital One Café — what’s the point if no one there can help?? The wait time is always over 120 minutes! I stayed on the line for 40 minutes, only to hear that “the line is now closed.”

Now you’re threatening to block my account? I’ve had to waste so much time trying to fix this issue. I can’t speak to a representative — just these useless robots. Please answer the call! Stop sending me messages every month asking to update my information if you don’t even have the time to process it. Honestly, this is the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I hate your bank!

My job doesn’t do direct deposit for whatever reason so I have to do a mobile deposit with my payroll check. I have been a customer for many years and never had an overdraft. I have worked for my company a little over a month right now and been paid twice. I have deposited the check and they hold my check for a week to verify funds. I keep getting different stories from anyone I talk to.

This is really frustrating when you have a bank that is supposed to have your back but yet they will do nothing to make sure you’re good. In the climate we’re in where eggs are 11 dollars and people are living paycheck to paycheck it is maddening that I have to wait an additional week for a deposit to clear because no one wants to verify the check from a multi million dollar corporation. Meaning my car payment and credit card bills will be late due to this. I’m very upset and feel this is a disgusting practice for a bank to do to its customers that have been banking with them for years.

DO NOT....I REPEAT....DO NOT open a small business banking account with Capital One. After years of banking with Capital One, they really failed in the last year. We have been unable to get access to our requested bank statements and now our funds for over 1 month and we need the capital for a group trip we run for professionals annually that departs in May 2025. Our clients have paid into our account all year and now we cannot access the funds to run our trip. As a Doctor who runs her own clinic who has dealt with numerous banks over the years, this is unacceptable and by far the worse banking experience I have ever had with a bank. We are advising all of my doctor and attorney colleagues to avoid capital one at all costs.

I have called nearly every day for a month to get customer support from Capital One and every representative, supervisor, manager, continually says the same thing.... "I will submit a request and it could take time to resolve the issue, at least 15 to 30 calendar days (which we have already exceeded), and there is nothing more we can do to assist as it is a system wide issue that is effecting numerous clients that bank at Capital One". Additionally, no one can give us a work around in the meantime to access our money to continue running our business activities. We are writing complaints all the way up the Capital One management chain through various platforms and are also reaching out to the BBB to file a complaint. We also plan to go the media seek legal representation to resolve this issue once and for all. Save yourself the massive headache and take your money to Synchrony Bank for high interest savings. As a 25-year customer, you lost me after your 6-day power outage in January 2025. All other financial institutions have back-up plans for these kinds of emergencies. You did not, which left customers believing how little they and their bank accounts were valued by Capital One. As far as harsh language goes, most people get a little frustrated at having to repeat their question 5 times to a Customer Service representative. The following are many reasons for your loss of customers. Poorly trained CS. CS not being able to get past language barriers. CS accents that are too thick to understand. CS talking over their customers. CS being just as rude as Capital One accuses their customers of being. So you can ghost us and in return, we can ghost you.

I’ve been a customer of Capital One for quite some time now, and I am beyond frustrated with the poor service and lack of support. From the start, it’s been a nightmare trying to resolve simple issues.

Customer Service: The customer service is absolutely horrible. Every time I’ve needed assistance, I’ve been put on hold for over 30 minutes, only to receive unhelpful responses. The representatives seem untrained and unable to provide solutions to even the most basic problems.

Fees and Charges: The fees are excessive and hidden. I was charged an annual fee without being fully informed, and the foreign transaction fees are ridiculous. On top of that, my interest rates are much higher than expected, which feels like a huge bait-and-switch.

Lack of Transparency: Their billing process is confusing, and I often find myself scrambling to understand why I’ve been charged certain amounts. There’s no clear breakdown of charges, and the website is clunky and hard to navigate.

Rewards Program: If you’re looking for a good rewards program, look elsewhere. The rewards are minimal and difficult to redeem, and the program itself seems to change without any notice. Overall, I regret choosing Capital One and I will be exploring other options. This is a company that clearly doesn’t care about its customers, and I highly recommend avoiding them if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

I am a victim of Jugging at Capital One Bank on Westpark & Buffalo Speedway. Beware of this specific location of Capital One Bank. I visited this branch that’s located on 3207 Westpark Dr., Houston, TX 77005 few days ago on Thursday January 30th, 2025 around 1:00 PM. The drive through refused to allow me withdraw $4,000 cash for my overseas travel for 4 weeks. The lady forced me to get the cash from the teller counter inside the bank. I parked my car and walked inside and got my cash. I walked back into my car and went to Kroger located in the same strip center to buy milk. I contemplated whether to keep the cash with me or hide it under the mat to be safe. I chose the latter. I walked out of the car, went inside Kroger, bought the milk and went back to my car.

In that quick 5 minute trip, my car was burglarized, the window was smashed, the driver seat floor mat was removed, and $4,000 cash were gone. I filed a police report (Report Number **) and the officer told me that jugging is the most common crime in America nowadays and for this incident to be this efficient and quick, it could possibly be an inside job too. The police added that no scenario is a safer option if you draw cash: take it with you inside the store, keep it in your car hidden, or go home with it. Thugs know you got this cash and have made up their mind by hook or by crook they are going to get it. Each of those options come with a price regardless.

The blame is on the bank for not having security to protect its customers on their premises. The bank should never allow suspicious persons roam around the front door of the bank and allow non-customers park their vehicles, stay inside their cars, watch the customers as they exit the bank, follow them to become victims of jugging. I saw few cars parked with guys in them but never thought they would follow me to steal my money. I thought they were customers, naively, and didn’t know they were thugs targeting customers!! I contacted the bank, filed a complaint, and shared with them my incident as stated here. They said they will investigate. I hope they do!!

For every incident like this, banks should be responsible in returning lost cash to their customers for their lack of safety/security at their locations. Otherwise, invest in employing an officer to monitor foot traffic and activity in the parking lot of suspicious people. I am furious for losing $4,000 in cash, spending $2,400 repairing the damages on my car, and not having a car for several days. Shame on Capital One Bank and any bank for that matter for not securing their locations. Capital One Bank services are difficult and inflexible when it comes to some transactions which force customers to actually go in person to the bank and putting our lives at risk. I will be closing my account with them. They are worthless and unsafe.

Please take extra precautions when you visit Capital One Bank on 3207 Westpark Dr., Houston, TX 77005. If you must go to banks in person, be vigilant and make sure you are aware of your surroundings. If you see people in a car just sitting there, make sure you check if you are being followed after you leave and call the police if you are! The bank is responsible to return our lost $4000 and the cost of car repairs.

After ignoring promotional emails, I finally decided to apply for the Capital One Savor Card after ignoring their promotional emails for years. The card itself has great perks—offering solid cashback rewards on dining, entertainment, groceries, and streaming services—but my experience with their customer service has been nothing short of frustrating.

After being approved for the card, Capital One immediately placed my account under restrictions and asked me to verify my identity by emailing a copy of my ID and a bill. I complied with their request right away, but the issue didn’t end there. Even after receiving the card in the mail, my account remained restricted. When I called customer service multiple times to resolve the issue, I was met with repetitive responses and vague timelines. They kept saying it would take 1 to 10 business days to process everything, but it’s been well over that timeframe now.

To make matters worse, their system kept rejecting my phone number even though it had been verified during one of the calls. The representatives I spoke to seemed unhelpful and robotic, repeating the same script over and over without offering any real solutions. One representative, Maria (the entitled manager), came across as entitled and dismissive, which only added to my frustration. She will ask you the back card security code which is shady. While the card’s rewards are undeniably attractive, this experience has left me questioning whether it’s worth the hassle. Instead, they offered me a pathetic $800 limit, which is an outright insult. I wanted to buy three family tickets at roughly $1,100 each and earn rewards, but their laughable limit made that impossible.

When I called to request a credit increase, their excuse was no more than a weak apology and a meager raise to $900. This isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s a scam! A friend with a similarly strong credit profile had the exact same experience when her store credit account was transferred to them. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Capital One if you require any meaningful credit. Consider reputable alternatives like Bank of America, Chase, or American Express instead.

I told her to look at the statement due date and tell me how exactly "I'm late". I told her that I am not paying the fees and am cancelling my card. For the past 4 months, every single day someone has been calling for their $100 interest payment. I checked my credit score today, and they dropped me to the lowest category from the highest. DO NOT USE THIS CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

I tried to call the support line 1-844-348-2265, and I just want to speak to a real person, it understood me first time when I said 'Customer Service', then, it asked me my social, I did it, use input, but it couldn't understand, tried a couple times, still failed to understand. Then it ask me to input # in order to send me over to representatives But it still couldn't understand my input of #. Then it just told me bad connection and hanged up. This is terrible experience, can't even speak to a real person.

Worse company ever. I have a car loan with them and always paid on time. I now have 3 payments to go and requested to move my payment date from the 12th to the 13th. Received email confirmed. Customer rep confirmed. At least I thought all was fine. However I did that request because I was switching banks and didn't want to be overdraft. Well guess what? They took the payment out of my account and NOW I have a 170.00 overdraft. Called company to see if I get some of the money back from the overdraft fee. The cust. rep flat out said NO. Didn't even try to resolve the issue at all or even try to make a customer happy. Instead it was no, no and NO. I work in cust. service and if my boss hear the conversation he would of stepped in, handled and then fire me for not helping out a long-standing customer.

Worse company ever. I will never use them again or tell anyone about them. I would give zero stars. The conversations are recorded so I thought maybe someone higher up would have called me to try and resolve the issue. But nope. They did not. Never again. Their cc division is just as bad. Please please I am begging all of you. Don't use this company. They are not customer friendly. They are only in it for themselves.

Hacked 4 times in 3 months. Used my rewards to make Amazon purchases and the card is not linked to Amazon or used to make purchases on Amazon. All Cap 1 does is send a new card. Known security problem Cap 1 can not fix. Numerous online reports. Cancelling card.

I wish I could give this negative stars. They send fake pre approvals. Just to be denied, I would not trust this company for anything. I have multiple pre approvals, and then when I finally decided to apply denied. They are a waste of your time and credit. Don't trust any pre approval you get from this company. Capital One is nothing but liars. I would stay so far away from this company. I hope to save somebody wit this review. I recommend Credit One. They sent a pre approval and stuck to their word.

Avoid this bank! I first want to say I worked for a large regional bank as a lender and we critiqued applicants with Capital One cards with rolling eyes. Sort of viewed as credit card for deadbeats. Or they were not too bright with their finances in the first place. I cannot say this is the case for all banks, but it looks like last chance credit. Capital One has 1.2 Stars but you are required to give them 1 star so their real review is 20% of a star quite similar to the rates they charge on their credit card and saw some over 30%. Maybe this is why they came up with the catchphrase "What's in your wallet" to make their cards look better.

They have not addressed one complaint here that I can see. Maybe they cannot read them. Good luck understanding customer service when you call because one even told me they were outside the U.S. That's not a fair statement. Let's summarize it that they do not care! I came here to vent that they cheated me out of a $750 deposit bonus using very deceptive wording in the offer. They said they really tried to make an exception since I missed it by 5 days but they just couldn't. They should say the deposit needs to be with them for 105 days. They promise the bonus within 60 days however when I called to inquire about it they were going to be over a week late in paying it. Rules that benefit them, but not me. Go with Ally Bank for better rates and service. Avoid Capital One unless they are your last chance source for credit.

I went online and made a payment days before it was due and they charged me a late fee. I write them and they never fixed it. Not once not twice but three times. The late fee was crazy when I paid it on time.
