Can't make it a zero star or I would. Don't do it. I opened a secured credit card with them. I was told I could add to the security before activation. Got the card and the only numbers/web address they gave were to activate it. Called the number and it asked me to set up a pin and then told me my card was active. Fought with the automation till it finally sent me to a person who told me because the card was activated they couldn't do anything. That I would have to wait for two billing cycles (60 days) for them to mail me a check, that would take 10-15 days to arrive. So they would hold my money for 75 days in total after a 20 min activation I didn't agree to. Go get a discover card and never bank with Capital One.

I had a very bad experience with a customer service representative. I applied New Venture X credit card online and approved right away. But still not access to link my account with other credit card. I called in next day and she said that social security no is wrong and corrected and wait for to updated in the system. She also told me that with next couple of hour I can use it but still not working. Now next day (after 2 day) I called again and the representative found that the lady who updated my social security mess up my no and put the wrong no. Now I have to wait for minimum next two days. Even I received my physical card I can't use it because of that mistake done by the customer representative. I applied this card to purchase a ticket. But I can't because of their negligence. Who is responsible if my air ticket price increased. I am really frustrated and irritated with it. Please be very careful with the customer representative.

Updated on 10/23/2024: I have three credit cards, my primary checking account and primary savings account with Cap One. I started a new business and applied for a business checking account. I was immediately denied with no explanation. I was sure I would receive another email detailing why it was declined but never did receive anything else. I went to Chase Bank and immediately opened the account with no issue. About two weeks later, I received the claims check for hail damage to my home. The check was made out to me and my wife and the mortgage company. My wife and I bank separately. We took the check to the mortgage company and they endorsed it, my wife endorsed it and I endorsed it. I uploaded it to Cap One and went about my business.

Later I received an email that said "The check doesn't have a signature or isn't properly endorsed." When I called I was initially told that everyone on the check had to be on the account or it couldn't be accepted. I was sure this person just wasn't familiar with the process and asked to speak with someone more familiar with the process. Previously, she had to find out why it couldn't be accepted, I wasn't rude or mean to her. She got someone else on the phone who said both me and my wife had to be on the same account. These things have been very disappointing when you are trying to get things done and suddenly you run into these types of issues. The 2nd person said that since they are online banking and not brick and mortar, they aren't able to do certain things.

I responded by telling him that, "I am not needing to take any cash out, take all of the time you need to clear the check." He said they still can't do it with me alone. Again I deposited it into my Chase checking account and was told they would hold it up to 10 days. That's fine with me and the roofing company. I have a high yield savings account with Cap One and will look for alternatives as well as the checking account.

Original Review: I am very sad to say that Capital One really let me down this weekend. I have my personal checking, savings and 3 credit card accounts with them. I have referred several friends to them over the years. Last week I started a new business and went online to Capital One to open a business checking account. After gathering all of the information, I completed my application and was promptly told that it wasn't going to happen. I was shocked! No explanation. They said, we know you don't want to hear this but we can't open an account for you. That's it. No one will give you any reason for the decision. I will be searching for another bank to transfer my savings dollars and personal checking. A simple explanation would have sufficed, but I can't think of any reason for a denial. It was just rude.

I have been with Capital One for many years and I have always had the same credit limit whereas my other credit cards have increased my credit limit over time. I have a new Lowe's card that I received 2024 with the same credit limit as my Capital One! I asked for a limit increase and they decline and when I got upset, they told me that they are sorry I felt that way but "Oh well, that's how you feel" per their overseas manager! I am so tired of talking to foreign people about my credit information here in America! As per another review, if I could give zero stars, I definitely would!

I am so frustrated at not being able to use the on line banking. Tried to get 2023 statements for two of my cards and since my credit cards were replaced that year with new numbers, I can not access and print my statements. The chat is simply worthless. The AI chat can't respond to a simple command or question. No questions were answered and they could not provide access to my correct statements, such a waste of time. I am sick of the way business is done now. No personal attention, they make the customer run around and get frustrated not being able to do simple tasks. I loved my account reps many years ago at Capital One and recommended them to everyone. Now I would advise anyone considering capital one to go elsewhere where you can get real service.

When working with them on an issue with a credit card payment due to technical problems, there was no accommodation even with the good history we had together. The current business model appears to be aimed at volume, not service. "If you don't like it, it's okay, go ahead and take your money elsewhere, we will just get someone else."

And cannot offer any way of GIVING YOU YOUR MONEY! Even if it’s a paycheck, which with any other bank is same day deposit/availability. Everyone on the phone sounds like they hate their job and are so unhelpful. Not sure why anyone banks with them.

I applied for a Capital One credit card, and when it arrived, the letter instructed me to activate the card online or through the app. I logged into my online account, but the website directed me to activate it in the app. So, I downloaded the app, but the app told me to call instead. What a frustrating experience! Unfortunately, this was just the beginning. When I called, I was told they didn’t have my phone number on file, even though I had provided it when applying for the card, and it was also listed in my online account. They said I needed to add my phone number before activating the card and they need to verify my identity as the first step. To do so, I was asked to send my photo ID and proof of residence (any statement with my name and address) via email. I complied.

After a few days, I received a call stating that the back of my ID wasn’t clear and that my mortgage statement couldn’t be used as proof of residence. Despite not having my phone number, they managed to call me—how ridiculous! I was then instructed to send a bank statement. I emailed a clear image of the back of my ID and a bank statement. A few days later, I received another call, this time requesting a credit card statement instead. But I had been told to send a bank statement just a few days earlier! So far, I’ve sent my ID, mortgage statement, and bank statement—documents sufficient to apply for a driver’s license, yet somehow not enough to verify my identity with Capital One. This is just too much. I told Capital One to close my credit card and that I would no longer do business with them. And here’s the kicker: despite not verifying my identity, they agreed to close the card without any issue. How ironic!

I asked if I could get a card expedited because I was leaving for a trip soon. I could not get the card expedited because they can't ship to P.O. boxes and we do not have any on-street mailing. I agreed to have the card sent 4-6 business days since I couldn't get it expedited. Not only did I end up receiving the card 2 weeks later, I also called back asking if I could register the new card once I received it, however, they told me I couldn't use the new card because they cancelled it for some reason. SO now I am waiting for a new card AGAIN. Waiting for their so-called "4-6 Business days."

I called customer service and gave the account information verbally to the representative and he agreed to refund the late fee and interest. The subsequent statement did not include that payment so I paid the full amount over $10K just to be safe. In June, July, and August there was no money due as the overage covered the balance. In September the ACH from checking should have paid the balance but did not. Customer service again retracted interest and fees on September 22 and retook the account information. He offered to add a $400 ACH deduction from checking for proving functionality. Monday September 22, 2024 my card is frozen. Online purchases have failed. Easily one of the top 10 customer service experiences I've ever had, top 5 within the last 10 yr. I was forced into a Capital One credit card through my charge account with Kohl's being partnered with them. I already had a prior issues with Kohl's that I was attempting to sort *before* CapitalOne officially took over their accounts, and was given a number to call once my bill reflected correct charges (After returns balanced out). I did so, and it transferred me to CapitalOne's "customer service". I had the misfortune of speaking with an extremely rude and snarky individual, even after explaining way a charge on my account was wrong, who then insisted we "go through the charges and deductions together".

The incorrect charge? .59$. Fifty-nine CENTS. He was arguing with me over fifty-nine CENTS that was incorrectly charged and was refusing to remove it from my account and told me I would have to go to the store to sort out the problem - all the while telling me there was "maybe a charge I forgot about" or "forgot to return something". If a company is willing to argue with a customer over returning them .59$ it's absolutely pathetic and the worst kind of customer "service" there is. I wasn't asking for 59$, I was asking for barely half a dollar's worth returned to me.

I already planned to no longer shop with Kohl's after this incident, not that I shopped there every couple of years. But this entire argument over returning .59$ to me seals the deal. If I'm able to I'm closing my account through CapitalOne, if not I'm at least cutting up the card. It's bad enough I was forced into an account with them, I at least know I'll never willing do so in the future.

Avoid this bank at all costs. I regret opening anything with them and REFUSE to recommend them to anyone. I originally got my car loan with them (huge mistake) and the interest rate was in the high 20s- I asked to refinance after a year of making my payments 100% on time due to not being able to pay it down with how much interest they were charging, and they wouldn’t let me. So I refinanced with another company and am now at a 4% actually paying off my loan. Then I opened 2 credit cards with them (again, huge mistake) and they are awful to work with.

I have made every payment on time since 2018- I needed to postpone a payment due to a financially rough month, and they barely gave me any options and the lady wasn’t accommodating whatsoever. I would understand if I missed a payment, was late on one or didn’t even make payments every now and then, but for someone who’s made 100% of payments early for the past 6 years and to not help them once, is crazy. Please save yourself the headache and go with a different bank.

Beware of the interest charge they would apply to you if you accidentally missed one payment. I accidentally missed one payment to my credit card Savor One in August. It was roughly $870. The due date was on 8/9 and I paid in full on 8/13. Over the course of 5 days that incurred 57 dollars interest charge on an annual interest rate of 29.9%. I called them asking for a reason why the interest charge being that high but no one could answer my question. Without any clarification, I decided that okay I would just let it go and make sure that I don’t delay my payment next time. So I accepted the ridiculous amount of 57 dollars interest charge and took it as lesson learned. Then it was what happened in the next month that frustrated me so much that I decide to close my credit card account with Capital One. It turned out that there is something called residual interest charge in the following month credit card payment.

It was another 40 dollars interest charge occurred on an amount of 1220 dollars that was still running as a continuation of my August late payment. I did not miss any payment in September but they still apply 29.9% annual interest on 1220 dollars which was not even my credit card bill amount! I am utterly confused and frustrated in terms of how and why that was even happening! You missed one payment of a small amount and they penalize you for two months in the roll. I have decided to close my savor one credit card account with them and have no plan to open any future credit card with them ever again. I have to make this review. This is not the bank to work with at all. It is better to go to Community Bank or ask for money somewhere else. I have only 1000 dollars left to pay for my car now and Capital One is planning to repossessed my car after doing it the first time and I am need this car. They send me an email about payment plan and long-term payment but only to tell me to give them more money.

Plus they have add interest on my account by themselves so that what I owe them keep increasing. This is really a scam bank and all this loan they pretend to give you. I have pay the amount from 23000 to 1000 and now they have added interest instead of 1 dollars and almost nothing, I see the interest keep increasing instead of decreasing. This is not a bank to deal with honestly, all they want is that you keep paying them money and they manipulate the interest because they will repossess your car even if it was left one dollars in the account. Community banks, there are other banks you can work with.

Do not sign anything with this bank, they miscalculate what I owe them and never want to adjust the fees. Do not take refinancing with this bank for anything except it is a 3 % percent interest if not they will manipulate the fees in the system and call you to overwhelm you about payment. I am in a condition where I need the car for treatment and lost my main income and they send me an email about options for payment plans. I spoke to the representative and he tell me I do not qualify I have to answer questions and then say yes that I should give them money that same day if not I can not qualify for a reduction in interest and later payment plan.

Now he sent my car to be repossessed for the second time though the amount left is 1000 dollars and they will receive a 700 payment from Hyundai for a refund check, the dealer even said they can contact them if they need to but all they want to do is repossession. Pay your car in cash or find a way to have no interest or really low interest from this bank because they will repossess your car without giving you a time to even recover or even find a another job. Buy cars in cash or find other banks with loans interest, these cars notes from this bank and the way they treated you is not worth it.

They don’t even make a small deposit like most banks so you have some funds. Then the mangers also aren’t any help. Their best trait is tell their customers no. I Will be closing my account after they release my funds. Don’t bank with them for any reason!!!

Only do business with Capital One if it's your only option. I have had 2 auto loans and have 2 credit cards with them. The auto loans were OK but I was never late and paid them off early. The credit cards are horrible. Just found out that using a Capital One credit card with Venmo or PayPal is the same as a cash advance at an ATM. So they charge you a 10.00 cash advance fee plus a cash advance percentage fee of the total card balance every month there is a balance on the credit card. So you get charged interest twice. NEVER again for me.

If I could give them a minus score I would I think this has been the worst credit card experience I've ever encountered. They are an extremely greedy company they don't really care about their customers the way that they pretend to. The interest rate is always outrageous and I don't feel that's fair being that I've had the card for 10 years and my credit has gone significantly higher since When I first got the card.

I have been extremely loyal to this company for the last 10 years and this is not what I would have expected to get from them in return. I found myself in a very vulnerable situation and reached out to ask for a little of assistance in removing the late fee because they are $40 they declined to help me in reversing the fee and of course the interest rate is not going down no time soon. There's never any offers. I'm literally at the point now where I'm just so motivated to pay this thing off and be done with it because I cannot stand credit card debt anyways and it's a trap in my opinion and they know it. That's why they take advantage of customers who are in desperate situations and rely on them for that reason.

Do yourself a favor just figure another way to pay for whatever it is that you have to pay for. The only good reason to have a credit card is for traveling purposes other than that it's not necessary. If anything you're going to get yourself in a bunch of mess that you might not be able to get out of, and put yourself in unnecessary debt.

I filed a claim today because on August 5th a text was sent asking if a charge from Hertz my husband and he was said no. The response was that the card was canceled, and no more transactions would be processed. Then yesterday my account only had $900, and they let a fraudulent close to 4k charge go through taking my account negative almost three thousand. This was Capital One's fault because this charge should have never gone through. NEVER! I can never take my account more than $100 negative so why for the life of me would you allow a charge that took it almost 3k in the negative is beyond me. I am now late on my rent because your account executives messed up.

When I spoke to your representative to place the claim, they said there were several charges prior to Aug 23rd from Hertz for different amounts that were not processed because the card was blocked, and a new card should have been issued which it never was. Since this is Capital One's fault, I should not have to wait 10 days to get my money back. Therefore, I have switched my direct deposit, and no money will go into this account until you fix this problem. I honestly believe I should be compensated for this screw up especially since now I am facing a possible eviction due to the incompetence.

I have gone through this with Capital One before and they issued an immediate credit for the amount as a courtesy due to the mess up on your end. If I have to wait two weeks for my money to be returned, I will no longer be banking with Capital One. I have a child and should not be in this situation where the roof over her head may be taken because of a bank mistake. I don't understand how the hell I can never overdraw my account more than a hundred dollars and you let this charge go through. I would appreciate if someone would fix this immediately. I sent the info and had to call back several days later to find out they didn’t accept my D.L. and mail. Resubmitted the info and again had to call a week later because they didn’t reach out. Found out they won’t accept my mortgage piece of mail and will only accept a utility bill (which none of the utilities are in my name) or bank statement which I don’t have.

So was told if I couldn’t provide that, the account will stay restricted. I then told them to go ahead and cancel the card and was told they couldn’t do that until my identity was verified. (Pretty bad when your DL, social security card, 2 types of mail and one of those being the mortgage bill to my residence is not enough). I simply wish that I had never opened up a Capital One account. And I would not recommend getting this credit card to anyone. I want to caution potential customers about Capital One's deceptive payment processing practices, which are designed to exploit unsuspecting consumers. They encourage users to input their personal debit card details, including account and routing numbers, leading them to believe this is the recommended payment method. However, what they don't disclose is that payments made in this manner can take an astonishing 3-4 business days to process.

This delay is not communicated clearly upfront, resulting in customers inadvertently accruing late fees and penalties due to payments not being credited promptly. This predatory tactic appears calculated to maximize profits from late fees rather than providing fair and efficient service. It's crucial for consumers to be aware of these practices because missed payments, caused by Capital One's delayed processing, can significantly harm credit scores and financial stability. This is a severe consequence that consumers should not have to endure due to misleading payment practices. I urge anyone considering Capital One's services to proceed with caution. Explore alternative banking options that prioritize transparency and timely payment processing to avoid falling victim to such predatory strategies.

In May 2024, I booked a rental car via my Capital One Credit Card/Capital One Travel. This was my first time booking a car with them. Unlike other rental car companies that don't require credit card information or upfront payment, Capital One required me to pay for the reservation upfront with my Capital One credit card. The price shown was identical to Booking.com ($349.02), so I decided to go with Capital One because the Capital One credit card would provide collision insurance coverage.

On the same day, 5/8/24, I received an email from Capital One confirming my reservation details with Fox Rent A Car. This was also my very first time renting a car with Fox Rent A Car, and I had never heard the name before this. Upon returning from the trip, I noticed an extra charge of $179.14 from Fox Rent A Car posted to my credit card account. I immediately contacted Capital One, but at first, I was told to call Fox Rent A Car directly. I argued that since I booked the car through Capital One, it was their responsibility to resolve this issue with Fox, not mine. And since I didn't purchase any additional options, there was no reason why I should pay more than the price quoted.

The next day, Capital One called me back to tell me they had contacted Fox Rent A Car and learned that the $179.14 charge was a "mandatory protection fee" that I had to pay. If you have ever rented a car, you know that you will always pay exactly the price quoted unless you decide to buy additional insurance or other protections. You never have to pay a so-called "mandatory protection fee," and if there is an additional fee, it's listed upfront along with other booking details and included in the total price. Capital One is either so incompetent that they weren't even aware of this additional charge or worse, they knew about it but deliberately misled me into renting a car with them. It's disappointing, given the reputation of a big-name credit card enterprise like Capital One. If you're considering doing business with Capital One Travel, you may want to think twice about it.

I do not recommend getting a credit card through Capital One. I had the same experience as another reviewer where a retailer committed fraud on my account and instead of working with me as the paying customer they took the retailer side. 1. You have call them to first report the fraud. There’s no way to automatically do it on the app. 2. When you do call you have to wait at least 10 mins to get in touch with someone and when you do they have a thick accent so they are hard to understand. 3. It basically takes 30 mins just to report a claim but they never ask you for any evidence of the fraud. They just say they’ll investigate which again is taking their side. 4. When you do get to submit evidence they just ignore it and say it isn’t sufficient enough even if you have emails showing the fraud was committed.

Honestly I felt like a criminal working with them, it’s a debt trap and they not in business to help you. They think by catering to investors and passing over on their customers it is going to work but it’s already failing and going to continue to fail. Don’t work with them. Updated on 07/03/2024: Nearly a month ago I closed a credit card account with Capital One. Concomitantly, I submitted on this site a suitably critical review. Within the same period I closed said account by phone, a Capital One representative said it's take "2-3 days" to process the refund of $22.85 owed to me, then a check for that amount would soon be posted to me. However, today, July 2, 2024, I received paperwork from Capital One simply acknowledging the credit, but no accompanying check. So I just phoned this outfit again. Initially, as part of an automated system response, stated was that it's take "60-90 days" to mail said refund. Consequently, next, I requested to speak to someone. The representative stated that my request for a check would 'now' be processed and to expect receipt of the refund "within 10 days." The SAME assurance given almost one month beforehand.

Original Review: Early in 2024 I applied for a Savor credit card. It soon received at the registered mailing address of record. Next, the first bill arrived at the same mailing address and promptly paid in full. But next, 2nd due bill never received. So a phone call to the company since that 2nd bill was due for payment in just a few days, Only to be told said bill was mailed to an address I had vacated in 2022. The loopy explanation given? Capital One's whiz bang system had changed the mailing address and reverted to the long ago vacated one, and without any heads up. How so? Manager conversed with stated its system is integrated with Experian and thereby activated a prior address. Huh? However Experian already had on record my current correct mailing address!

Subsequent, consecutive two letters of complaint posted to the company. Ensuing two different Fed Ex delivered brief missives from Capital One. Nary even an apology for the inconvenience caused to me. Thereafter I cancelled the credit card. Absolute lack of accountability by company for its initial screw up as well as refusal to take ownership for its obvious deficiencies.

Capital one straight up STOLE the $250 promotional offer that it “gave” to me for opening a Credit Card with them after 4+ years I had my truck loan with them, I FINALLY opened a CC with them after receiving offers for one over those 4+ years. I paid my USED vehicle with them (that was offered through the dealership at the time) and when I actually needed another CC and they had the $250 promotional offer, I applied and opened the CC account. I had almost perfect credit with them and had almost no debt. They required to spend “X” amount in 6 months time to get the $250 promotional offer. I needed building materials for a large job and I only spent about $1,200 for everything I needed which was about double their required amount for the offer. Note I still had about $6,000 left to use on this card after the $1,200 purchase!! The next time I tried to use my CC less the. 10 minutes away from my home they had locked my account!!

They said that it was to ensure I was the account holder using the account. I sent them the two documents they requested—>drivers license and social security card pictures. I sent them right away. THEN they wanted my bank account number and I raised hell with them. Reluctantly I sent it to them to take care of this so I could use my account and redeem my $250 + the now the extra $7 I had from using my account. $257 in total now. THEN they still were not satisfied and wanted all my bank statements for the past so many months!!!

I called their customer support MANY times to take care of this and all I got was screwed by Capita One!!!! I raised so much Hell with them I demanded to talk to whoever was in charge of their organization crime syndicate and got put on the phone with Jovaniik in the Philippines “Fraud Protection Specialist-Disputes Manager” (and he did NOT want to even give me his name, nor would we supply me an employee number or anything else.” The guy laughed at me and had this smug and snarky/funny laugh twitch with every thing he replied back to me. I asked him why this was still going on, OVER ONE YEAR LATER!!!! My $1,200 was paid off, and so was my vehicle, and had done business with them 7+ years now and what is the problem!!

So they were trying to be sly at this time and asking me to close my account and forfeit my $257. I told them NO, SEND ME MY CHECK FIRST, they owe me this before my account was closed. So they did not close it OR send me the $257 in my account. I sent MULTIPLE letters. I called again and was threatening them with a lawsuit, they would not talk to me and clammed up. I FINALLY did what they asked and tried to send them my bank statements they requested, but their website link did not work to upload the documents (not the first time this happened) and they closed my account the next day saying “you did not supply the required documentation” thus STEALING my money!!! SCUM, GREEDY SCUM!!! Now they have every celebrity they can find advertising for them. Samuel Jackson, I hope you read this!!!!

Have had a business card with Capital One for over 20 years. Plenty of nonsense over the years, but not too much more than you get with any of the other sleazy credit card companies. And then while I'm out of the country, they mailed a snail-mail letter to my mailbox saying that if I didn't provide them with my company's EIN within a week, they're going to suspend my account, and close it a few weeks after that. No notice online, no text message, no email, no account document, no account request, no push notification in the app... nothing.

The letter didn't even give any instructions on how to provide the EIN! If I didn't happen to send someone to open any letters looking for my new credit card (because mine just happened to be expiring and the new card was on its way), business critical subscriptions for over a dozen of my customers would've failed to charge and brought hundreds of users of software to a screeching halt in the middle of a business week.

Then when I call them to give them the information, they tell me that they can't accept the information (which they could just look up online anyway!!) not make changes to the account, not get a cash advance, not apply for a new card, not add a cardholder, not get a replacement card, not authorize a charge.... JUST TO GIVE THEM INFORMATION THEY CAN GOOGLE... They say they can't accept the information without verifying my identity. "Fine" I say. They then ASK me what my phone number is... the same phone number that's been on the account for 20 years, the same phone number they send a text message to EVERY time a charge is charged on my card... like they don't know it... then say they can't send me the verification text message if I don't authorize them to pull all my account data and device information from my cell phone provider just to send me a text.

When I (obviously) decline that drastic overreach, they threaten to hang up on me... so I ask for a manager. The manager says the same thing and then puts me on hold for 10 min only to say that if I want to EMAIL a copy of my drivers license to them, that will work. EMAIL. My Drivers License. That has my signature on it and all my personal information and my picture... the signature that people who knew my credit card info would use to commit credit card fraud and/or identity theft. When I decline that offer, they say they can call me on my phone number... the number we're already talking on (caller ID was invented in the 80's)... to verify me. Then they say their system is broken and they can't make outbound calls.

I finally give up and consent to them pillaging my account and device data from my cell phone provider just to get the ball rolling while warning them that if they can't do anything else that I'll be taking my business elsewhere... they have to do the process twice, having read me their disclaimer about getting to steal my data over 12 times in one phone call... and then they have to leave me on hold for 20 minutes because they can't verify my company's EIN number (which can JUST BE LOOKED UP) for the company that they've been doing business with for 20 years... I guess I'm the world's most prolific scam artist. I've been running a phoney business and paying its credit card bills for 20 years, going for the long con I guess... anyway, I digress. But still, they say that they couldn't verify the number because his system updated in the middle of him trying so now he has to start over...

What a clown show. And they did all this... pillaging of my data and asking me to transmit sensitive information in an insecure way... in the name of "protecting my data". The only people my data needed protecting from today was Capital One. It's 2024. They've known my number for 20 years. I get more texts from Capital One than all my other contacts combined. Literally. But they don't know how to get ahold of me. And when I call them... they act like they've never met me. Well screw them. Treat me like a stranger, then a stranger I'll become. Bye, losers.

Extremely unprofessional on the call and he should be investigated and/or fired after you take the time out to listen and review the call that took place as he painted me out to be someone who was trying to get over when that is not the case. The call felt very targeted and discriminated through his tone. He was extremely aggressive with his tone which is unnecessary and disappointing to have with the company when as a customer I was trying to work with someone to get my issue resolved

So I do hate that I have to write to the corporation of the matter but I am trying to make sure I stick around to be a customer with Capital One because how this experience has been going for the people who have lacked, now has created tension with me as a paying customer and this is mainly with your management team.

I need this to be rectified as I have even decided to stay with this company when upgrading my card to the QuickSilver card and was looking to upgrade again but if this issue is not resolved and your company is not willing to be on the same page since one set of people are doing the work to help their customers and the others are not alongside of handling their customers in an extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable manner then we have a huge conflict of interest. Feel free to give me a call or email me at the contacts that will be listed below. Thank you and have a blessed day

04/02/24 Eman, (8:30pm). Once again another agent asked me to provide documentation that I have already implemented into the system/link that the company asked me to provide. I am very unsure why we are back to square one with this situation. As when addressing the concern, the agent did not provide any sound information as to why. He stated I should resend in my documents when he seen everything that I've sent in as the company has asked for me to do

Eman warm transferred to an unknown manager and the manager did not state his name nor did he say much on the call.

The call magically disconnected and that was my last straw with the company so as a reference to the corporation I genuinely hope you resolve this matter as I will no longer be a customer for Capital One. You can go back and forth with RIU Palace Pacifico as they will not get any money from me and Capital One will NEVER attain business from me in the future as this matter was handled poorly and the company has a lot of work to do as their frontline workers and management team are not following the same policies and procedures. Please look into the calls on the days listed with the front line workers and managers that I've spoken with.

The company is welcome to alleviate me from the potential charge that I am disputing that I did provide substantial amounts of evidence for as the dispute department did not do their job to fight for their customer. It says it all. I cancelled my card and they will be looking for a payment that will never be received by Capital One nor RIU. I've explained to the company why I was disputing charge and even reached out to corporate and they are all sorry but never rectified issue

I urge caution to any prospective Capital One customers, especially those looking to manage both personal and business accounts. My recent experience has been nothing short of a bureaucratic nightmare, marred by poor communication and unnecessary delays. After smoothly opening personal checking and savings accounts, I proceeded to establish my business accounts with the same institution. The process should have been straightforward; however, it turned into a prolonged ordeal when I applied for a business credit card. Despite providing all required documentation—multiple times and in various formats including in-person submissions confirmed as satisfactory—Capital One's internal processes faltered.

The communication during this period was confusing and inconsistent. Representatives confirmed my compliance and the adequacy of my documentation repeatedly, yet there was no progress. Calls were met with platitudes and dismissals, with no substantial information provided. The climax of this frustrating experience was the unannounced closure of my personal accounts, which I discovered only through a generic email, followed promptly by the actual closure—all this despite reassurances just a day before that everything was in order. This abrupt action has not only restricted my access to funds but has also impacted my business operations severely, considering the accounts were interlinked.

Capital One's handling of this situation reflects a stark lack of transparency and efficiency, leaving much to be desired in customer service. Their practice of seeking feedback only during positive interactions further underscores a selective approach to customer satisfaction and demonstrates a lack of transparency and manipulation of the feedback system. I strongly advise looking elsewhere if you value clear, reliable, and respectful banking relationships.

However, despite boasting a stellar credit score and minimal inquiries, my application was summarily rejected. The reason? Apparently, having just two cards in the past 24 months, one of which was at the 23-month mark, was deemed excessive by the company's standards. When I contacted their customer service in hopes of reconsideration, I was met with indifference and told there was no policy for such cases. Though offered a chance for a reprocess, it seemed futile given the stringent acceptance criteria. My advice to anyone considering this card: proceed with caution and thorough research. Took 4 calls but that was done, verified I was the holder of the bank account. Thought it was over. Then I noticed that one credit card's balance wasn't being updated after a payment was made and cleared. Called and was told it was being updated, and I was just charging too much *despite not charging anything for a week*. Hung up still not understanding.

Then another payment cleared/no charges made on the *other* card with the same thing happening = balance was not updated. Called again and jokingly asked if there was a hold on my accounts. After a few minutes, finally was told THERE WAS! Any payment via bank HELD FOR 28 DAYS! Was not informed of it until I asked. Was told it was because of the frequent payments...despite having a verified bank account. But not until I asked. Double Secret Hold apparently. I just wasted an hour of my time with Capital One's so-called customer service who are trying to steal from me. Both the rep I dealt with, Glenn, and then the senior manager, Jazmin, could not or would not solve the issue. Basically in 2022 and 2023, I cashed in a bunch of my rewards points for eight Shutterfly $100 gift cards. The first two cards worked fine and I redeemed them over time on Shutterfly, but the remaining six cards it turns out were never activated by Capital One, so I could not use them. I called Capital One to request that they activate the cards (BTW they do not expire) and for five of the cards they elevated the issue to another department and supposedly I will hear back in the next couple of weeks about getting new cards.

For the 6th card they credited the 10,000 rewards points back to my account (did not ask me first) and then were going to just issue me a new $100 gift card. Problem is that now it costs 12,500 points to get a $100 card instead of 10,000 points when I redeemed them. Of course, this is unacceptable but Glenn said he was not able to either add points to my account to cover the difference or issue the card at the previous redemption level, so I asked for the issue to be elevated. A few minutes later Jazmin came on the phone and very politely told me there was nothing she could do. She also refused to further elevate the issue or provide any way to resolve the issue and said she was as high as I could go.

So if you have an issue with Capital One, they not only won't resolve the issue in your favor (even when it is their mistake), but they take the opportunity to steal points from you. I'm guessing they will pull the same stunt with the remaining five cards. Not only should they send me six good $100 gift cards to replace the defective ones, they should do more to compensate me for the time and frustration, but this is Capital One, so I won't hold my breath. I wanted to pay the Cap One Walmart card off in total, and close it! The CSR said I would have to wait until next bill cycle statement? Don’t they have that on their computer? Then wanted to know a date to pay it off. Hello. I am calling today to pay the card off and close it. Just horrible. Okay so I’ll wait until my statement comes in the mail this week, to call them back to pay it off and cancel? What a joke. With the reviews I’ve been reading, no I wouldn’t recommend Capital One

I received the payoff and made the payment in full by the due date and this company proceeds to send another bill in the mail for accrued interest during the time that I received a statement and called for payoff. I'm furious because the representative should have known the accrued interest and should have given me the payoff in full. How hard is that to figure out??

When I call and ask to speak to a supervisor and ask for interest to be waived since I have been a diligent customer making payments on time and paying the account off in full by due date they can't even help me. Every attempt to rectify the situation has been a sad state of affairs, from being denied escalation to having the same mistake about the bank statement made by someone else. They have severely damaged my credit and refuse to acknowledge my attempts to rectify the situation honestly. I have been carrying a $5,400 charge on my Capital One credit card, which I have been disputing since October, 2023. I have sent multiple letters to Capital One Corporate Headquarters in McLean, VA, and also to their Fraud Department in Salt Lake City, UT, as well as filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I received no response from the corporate office, but received responses from the Capital One Fraud Department and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau stating that the matter is resolved. It is not resolved. Apparently, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau simply took the word of Capital One, and from everything I have read about the shady business practices of Capital One, that was perhaps not the wisest course of action.

After researching the history of Capital One and reading about investigations into bank fraud, money laundering and possible racketeering, it seems apparent that nothing has changed. They are still misleading their customers at the very least. To summarize the problem, at the beginning of October, 2023, I contracted with a Heating & A/C Company to install a new furnace at my rental property. I paid them through PayPal which is linked to both my Capital One credit card and my checking account. I intended for the money to come out of my checking account but it was apparently charged to my credit card. When I saw the unusually high balance on my credit card statement, I thought someone had fraudulently used my credit card and I reported it.

While I was still on the phone with Capital One, I realized my error and advised them that the charge was legitimate. However, they insisted that they could not reverse it because their policy was to proceed with the fraud charge once it was initiated. This is the first questionable practice I encountered and it created all the problems that have since occurred. But not having any choice and knowing that I owed the money, I proceeded to pay HVAC company cash from my checking account through PayPal because I could not expect them to wait until the fraud charge was resolved. A few weeks later, I received a letter from the Capital One Fraud Department telling me what I had already told them, which is that there was no fraud. Capital One then reinstated the $5,400 charge and it has simply sat there on my account ever since. I immediately began disputing the charge, advising that I had already paid the vendor in cash.

I spent countless hours over countless days on the phone trying to get information on how to have the charge removed and no one would tell me what I needed to do, although I was told so many different stories, I have lost count. Once I was told that the money would have to remain on my account for 30 days “in case the vendor wanted to claim it.” I called after 30 days and was told I would have to wait 45 days. I called after 45 days and was told I would have to wait 90 days. Next I was told that the problem was that I was referring to the issue as a fraud charge when it was, in fact, a dispute. So they would have me believe they are illegally retaining that money on my account because I used the wrong terminology??? What ordinary consumer IS familiar with all bank terminology? Then I was finally told that I needed to provide documentation that the merchant had been paid.

I asked if the PayPal receipt would suffice and was told yes. I then submitted the PayPal receipt showing that the money had been withdrawn and sent to the vendor. The charge was removed for about two weeks; but then I received another letter telling me that I had not submitted the requested documentation and the charge was being reinstated. The letter did not say exactly what documentation was needed so I again spent countless hours on the phone trying to find out what documentation was needed. I started with the phone number that was given in the letter to call for assistance and was simply told there was nothing they could do to help. I then proceeded to call every number I could find and on my seventh attempt of the day was told that I needed to provide my bank statement…even though my bank statement shows only that the money was withdrawn by PayPal but does not show where it was sent.

So I wrote my final letter to both Capital One Corporate Office and Capital One Fraud Department attaching the requested bank statement, plus the PayPal receipt (again) so that there could be no excuses this time about not showing proof that the money had been withdrawn and sent to the vendor, plus I sent a copy of an email from the vendor stating that they have been paid in full and including their contact information if there are further questions. The $5,400 remains outstanding on my account.

Capital One is simply holding onto this money in order to charge me interest. IT IS INSANE FOR THEM TO SIMPLY HOLD THAT MONEY ON MY ACCOUNT. If they believe it should go to the vendor, they should send it to the vendor which has pledged to return it to me. If not, then Capital One should credit my account. What Capital One is doing cannot possibly be legal and it certainly isn’t ethical!

While this matter may be inconsequential to them, it is not inconsequential to me. It is much, much more than $5,400…it is the sick feeling of helplessness in trying to deal with an uncaring corporate Goliath which shields everything with layers and layers and layers of people, none of whom know what the others are doing. They won’t tell you their names so you can’t call them back and tell them that what they told you to do did not work. Instead, you have to talk to a different person every time and RETELL your story again and again, only to have them tell you to do something else that doesn’t work.

Dealing with Capital One has been a literal nightmare. It would seem that the only option I have left is to file suit against Capital One. Once this matter is resolved (AND IT WILL BE RESOLVED) I intend to close my account and I will never again have a credit card that is not associated with a bank that has branch offices I can go into and talk face to face with a person who has a name!

The people who were handling my report from the terminal to fraud team were unprofessional, poor knowledge and poor direction. Macy's continued to do unauthorized charges even after removing the virtual. Nobody was explaining about the situation. The card was terminated by the fraud team and issued a new one. Guess what, it continued to being charged even after termination. I never activated the new card and closed the credit card account permanently.

When I was closing it, I paid the remaining balance and requested the mileage to be mailed to a check. PERMANENTLY CLOSED! Capital One sent me a statement of $50+, occurred after permanent closing. At this point, I am confused if Capital One is legitimate financial institution or a piece of garbage, looking like a financial institution. I don’t recommend this card. I have had this card for over 20 years. Last year I placed the first dispute. It has been a disaster. When I call each representative tells me something different. It is as if the account doesn’t get reviewed and the representative does not review what the previous representative noted. Very poor communication. I placed the dispute in a timely manner. I didn’t realize my account was paperless. So I waited for Capital One to communicate with the merchant. I heard nothing back. I called Capital One and was told that documents were sent to me to my online account. I was never sent anything in the mail and never received a follow-up phone call. So I explained that I assumed that with a dispute, due to the importance of this, a letter would have been sent to me in the mail and I had no idea more information was needed. The response was that it was sent to my Capital One paperless account.

I asked what was needed and asked that my account no longer be paperless. I sent in proof of payment to the merchant, a page-and-a-half letter explaining the reason for the dispute, and the email I sent to the merchant for which they did not reply to. I called again to follow up after sending this all in, I was told they are still reviewing my dispute. No follow up. Called again. Now I am told that I needed to complete a questionnaire. I explained no one told me this. Spoke with several supervisors- got nowhere. I explained that I received no follow-up or letter in the mail and the response was “Your account was paperless.”

They had an answer for everything. I explained that I cannot understand why a letter was not sent in the mail. I explained that when I placed the dispute, it would have been nice if the representative communicated to me that all follow up will be on the Capital One paperless account. The representative said that the feedback would be noted. I assumed that paperless was for statements. I am confident that if there was lack of payment, I would have had a certified letter sent to me. Not with this dispute.

The end result was I had to follow up every time and was told something different. While the dispute was placed in the allotted timeframe, I was told that my letter, proof of purchase, and email to the merchant was not received within 90 days so the dispute cannot be honored. The company just sat back and waited for the whole issue to go to the wind. Way to treat a customer of over 20 years. The merchant never even replied to Capital One. Under most circumstances, when that happens, the dispute is in favor of the customer, not in this instance. Capital One charged my account again for the previous credit. I can say this is the worst customer service, or lack of, I have encountered. I would not recommend this company under any circumstance. If you count on them to go the extra step to help, you will likely be very disappointed.

I rarely place a dispute and with other companies, the dispute is placed on the phone. The representative takes as much time as needed to note the details of the dispute. They communicate to the merchant and that is all. There is no paperwork. And if there is no response from the merchant, the credit to the account remains.

My experience with Capital One was unnecessarily complicated and in the end, no one advocated for me as a customer. If just one person that I spoke with took a moment and paused and asked themselves, if this were me how would I have hoped this would have been followed up with? No one did that. Every answer was “Your account was paperless.” I will use my other credit cards moving forward where I can count on decent to exceptional customer service and people who care. I know it's a business but we are people.

I have been a Capital One customer for years! I always paid WAY above and beyond the minimum payment, and have never been late on one. Over the past few months I have gotten terrible customer service from Capital One, and as of right now my credit cards are cancelled because Capital One says that I violated the customer agreement. I should be receiving a letter in the mail about why, however it doesn't help that I live in Las Vegas, and I am on vacation in Southeast Asia for another 40 something days.

My issues with Capital One started around November/December of 2023. First, I had issues with a fraudulent charge. Capital One caught the charge, and notified me about it. I confirmed that it wasn't me, and Capital One said that they would mail me a new card. I had a Quicksilver card, and a SavorOne card with them. The SavorOne card is the card that had the fraudulent activity on it. So, Capital One sent me a brand new Quicksilver card. After calling them and asking why I got that one instead, they informed me that my old one was due to expire soon. After looking at the expiration date, I saw that it wasn't due to expire for at least another two years. So, I told them that I need the Savor One card sent to me, and I need it soon because my flight out of the country is due to leave soon.

Three days before my flight, I get my new SavorOne card with the exact numbers and expiration date as the card that got compromised. I once again called up again and was told that they will mail me a new one out within 2 to 3 business days. After much yelling and complaining on the phone I was told that is the best that they can do. I ended up receiving my card the next day like I told the manager was possible!

Finally, I get to the Philippines and I have been using my credit card for purchases towards food, hotel stays, transportation, a new camera, new shoes, and that's it! Just a few hours prior to writing this review, I went to pay for dinner but my card was declined. I was nowhere near my limit, and after talking to customer service I was told that my cards have been cancelled and the account has been closed due to violation of the customer agreement with them. I will also receive a letter in the mail explaining why in further detail. Today is January 11th, and I won't be home until February 22nd. The manager I spoke with told me that she won't go into further detail about it with me. She also told me that she can't re-activate my account, nor can she reach out to her boss to discuss this with him. So, I'm stuck in Asia with no real credit card funds available to me, I have no idea why, and I'll have to wait until February 22nd to find out why.

Beyond that, I had an issue with a computer that I bought. I tried to file a chargeback, only Capital One told me that I took too long to get them the necessary information. They told me that they sent me a letter, and that the instructions were online. I tried filing this chargeback back in September of 2023, but now I'm left with a lemon of a computer because Capital One refused to help me with that issue as well.

Calling them has also been a nightmare! Their automated system doesn't work half the time, and getting through to a live agent is next to impossible. This is such an abhorrent company that I believe that a class action lawsuit is in order regarding their business practices. I read other reviews on this website before I wrote this review and they are terrible! I highly recommend that any consumer avoid Capital One like the plague!!

The manager failed to produce me any information and termination of reservation letter.

The conversation started to turned into an argumentative between me and the manager because I know the manager gave my reservation to their Chinese counterpart tourist company. I went to cancel my card because, as crazy as it sounds, the co. upped my limit without my permission and other minor issues not worth mentioning, and I wanted to cash out my points. The cash allotment seemed low for what I had spent. I put 4,000 on my card right off the bat, minus what I have since put on it and paid off. Plus it was one point for each 1$ spent. Long story short, I was shorted points. They way the company worded their incentive was misleading. Fast forward a month I still have not received my check for my points. I was supposed to receive this within 3weeeks. Called them and they'll re-issue the check and send it out within the same time frame. I have to wait another approximate month. Poor customer service, misleading incentives.

My experience with Capital One has been extremely disappointing, to say the least. Despite consistently making timely payments, they abruptly closed my account without any prior warning or explanation. This lack of communication is simply unacceptable and has left me feeling frustrated and betrayed. To make matters worse, when I reached out to one of the representatives with ID# **, who claimed to be the highest authority within the company, she displayed an alarming lack of empathy and understanding. It's unacceptable for a company representative, especially someone claiming to be in a position of power, to dismiss the concerns of their customers without attempting to assist or find a resolution.

The way this situation has been handled has not only affected my relationship with Capital One, but it has also left me with doubts about their integrity and professionalism. I trusted this company with my financial matters, only to be let down when I needed support the most. I plan on sharing my negative experience with my family, friends, and anyone who will listen to ensure they avoid dealing with Capital One. It's disheartening to witness such disregard for their customers' satisfaction and well-being. I urge all associates and potential customers to steer clear of a shocking lack of empathy and understanding. The representative with ID# ** seemed completely indifferent to my situation and failed to acknowledge how their actions have impacted me.

Not only was the closure of my account unfair, but the customer service I received from Mosha was far from satisfactory. She arrogantly claimed to be the highest authority within Capital One and brushed off any possibility of helping me. It is astonishing that someone in such a position of authority could be so dismissive and unhelpful. The way I have been treated by Capital One has left a lasting negative impression on me. I can't help but feel that their supposed commitment to customer satisfaction is nothing more than empty rhetoric. This experience has made me question the integrity of the company as a whole.

I am incredibly disappointed in how Capital One handles its customers. With their abrupt account closures and unhelpful customer service, I strongly advise my family, friends, and associates to steer clear of this company. There are plenty of other financial institutions that prioritize their customers and understand the value of communication and loyalty. I hope that my review helps others avoid the frustration and disappointment I have experienced with Capital One. It is truly disheartening to see a company that I once trusted fail so miserably in its obligation to provide fair business relationships.

Those that work at Capital One making the decisions to close the credit accounts of never late, hardworking and honest cardholders are a bunch of incompetent clowns. The ** excuses, the lies, the incompetency and the ignorance of said clowns are at most pathetic and moronic. It is apparent and true that customer loyalty had gone out the window years ago and now conglomerates like Capital One continue to destroy the lifelines of families and individuals regardless of exceptional payment history and stellar credit scores. Capital One sent me packing many years ago without justification and that was ultimately a blessing in disguise. They could no longer touch my money and I would no longer support their frivolous and morally broken policy and procedures. I have since boycotted anything Capital One has touched, looked at, mentioned, thought about or supported and I suggest those that Capital One unfairly victimized do the same.

You think the card is paid off, with a zero balance, but they charge you interest for money you no longer owe them. I cancelled the card immediately after becoming aware of this, and will never do business with Capital One again. This is shady business practices and I suggest not doing business with Capital One.

Since this was my emergency fund (about $50k to $60k), I did not review interest rates. However in September of 2023, I realized that they were paying under 0.7%. So I immediately closed my account and deposited my emergency fund into a local Credit Union, which pays about 4.5% (an increase exceeding 8X). I only blame myself for not watching, however, any consumer who is considers savings with Capital One products should do their homework as they can get a much, much higher return elsewhere.

We have had an attorney involved and they keep telling her it's taken care but it is not because they keep adding late payments. They say we are 5 payments behind on money we don't owe. We have given proof every time so why are they allowed to keep doing this. They are not worse than a thief. If I did such a thing I would be sitting in jail. Stay away from Capital One.

I don't know that the card's rewards system is really any better than other cards, I genuinely only keep it due to it being my oldest account. I'm not sure if I'm an outlier or not but I would not open a Capital One account if I were looking now.

I recently experienced some frustration with CapitalOne Bank after depositing a $2,000 check from a reliable state entity. Despite the check's credibility, there was an unexpected delay in the funds being available in my account. The deposit was made at 1:00 pm on a Tuesday, but I was informed that the funds wouldn't be accessible until the following Monday – a full six days later. This delay was attributed to my account's new status at CapitalOne, even though the check had already been cleared according to the branch manager at Wells Fargo, where the check originated.

As a new customer, this experience has been quite disheartening, especially when compared to my previous banking experiences with Chase, which were significantly more positive. Despite my efforts in speaking with managers, escalating the issue, and filing a complaint, the situation remains unresolved. This experience has left me questioning my decision to switch to Capital One and hesitant to recommend their services.

Let me say I love Capital One's shopping widget and have no complaint in regard to their servicing of my account in terms of transactions that have been charged to the account. However their fraud desk is immensely understaffed and closes at midnight and doesn't open till 9 a.m next BUSINESS day!!! Can you imagine that if their fraudbot tags a purchase after midnight but before 9 a.m. and you get the alert that a suspicious transaction was attempted you cannot reach anyone till after 9 the next business day!! When you do, you talk to people from some non-English speaking nation who one can barely understand and who have absolutely no clue about the nuances of the English language.

Terrible experience. My wife was alerted that her mother had been admitted to the ICU and was on a ventilator and that she needed to catch the first flight out. She jumped online and tried to book a flight and her card was rejected, and since we share an account mine was too. Received a text alert of suspicious activity and called immediately...but nobody's home!

Said "Screw the points" and used an Amex card - smooth as silk and she was booked on the first flight out! The real insidious kicker is that the reason she was flagged was because upon opening her Capital One app it requested she update her data (within the app). She added her business phone, as requested. However; because she had added a new number, they flagged her account. After speaking at length with not one but two Fraud desk agents (neither of whom's English was readily understood), the hold was lifted.

Absolutely horrible experience - if we were relying on the Cap One card and had been traveling in Europe or wherever and it went on hold it would have taken us at least a day (or more if a non business day) to get the card cleared. What credit card company doesn't offer 24 hour support??? This experience definitely has altered my expectations about Capital One and will definitely affect my future spending habits in regard to this credit card.

Then I discovered that when I had a medical emergency come up and I missed a few payments they did work with me on a arrangement to pay it back but it like over $500 and they said it was for several months and interest fees. Never call their customer service because most of them you get have a foreign accent and you can’t understand them and they won’t help and treat you like you are stupid.

They decided to put my card on restriction because I missed those payments and it’s a permanent one done by their system. Newsflash Capital One - someone has to put the restriction on the system, doesn’t automatically do things to people’s accounts like you claim. I would like a credit card company like care credit who actually helped me out when I had a hard time. Capital One told me the only way to remove the restriction is pay the account in full. If you miss a payment watch out. The payment triples the next month and you get interest and a late fee. As a unsatisfied customer of Capital One don’t go here. There are way better credit cards like discovery or one thru your bank. Capital one isn’t about helping the customers. They want your money and will screw you over in the process. It used to have the information on the print to show where the receipt is from. I tried clicking the "FEEDBACK" link at the bottom of the website, but nothing happens. When I right click on the word, it doesn't even give the option to open in another tab or window like actual links do. So in essence, they only put the word on the page but no link to send actual feedback to them. When I click the "CONTACT US" option, I don't see any way to send them feedback for the website. All they show are phone numbers to call. I don't want to call anyone. They need to have a digital way to contact them either via email or chat.

The system does not recognize keypad or verbal response and disconnects you. All of their numbers take you to this automation. Their chat is AI and according to their social media team "just keep trying the number". I am at a total loss.

I cannot get customer support on the line at all. There is not an email option and since the system does not recognize inputs you can't get a human. The one human I reached through social basically said I am out of luck. I am so disheartened that businesses can do this. Just cut people off without support options. I recommended several people for cards, including my husband. After this we are canceling our accounts. This is a huge company and the lack of customer service and organization is astonishing.

The first rep (George) said they would remove the charge and transferred me to Jesus to take care of that. Jesus said I was sent to the wrong dept and said he would send me to the correct dept. The last rep Lisette was very sharp with me and told me there was nothing she can do to remove the charge. I explained to her again I had paid the card off IN FULL 3 days prior to the charge being added and I did not feel I should be charged this fee and I would like to have the charge removed. She said again that she cannot and that Capital One didn't make the interest off the card this month which is why I was charged. I paid the card off, this is why the fee should not stand!

I have been getting countless offers to switch CC companies which I have avoided because I have been with Cap 1 for over 10 yrs, surely loyalty and good standing in payments means something right? Wrong! I told Lisette she can remove the charge or I can consider switching CC companies (that offer bonuses by the way to switch). Lisette was very snarky and told me to go ahead and switch. Then with a condescending voice she said "Thank you for calling Capital one, is there anything else I can help you with today" I hung up. The lack of customer service is enough for me to say, I don't need this. Plenty other cards out there that want business. I will be switching cards... yes over $10.29 they are willing to lose a great customer that they have made lots of money off of over the years. No more!
