I purchased a one-year subscription to Mcafee Total Protection for $ 26.95 and after I was charged for that amount I could not get it to download. I tried for several days of dealing with their Customer Support trying to get a refund, the Middle Eastern sounding fellow talked me into letting him install 5 years of Mcafee Total Protection for $127.95 so I gave him access to our computer so he could install it. Afterwards I could see where I had Mcafee installed on our computer for five years so I thought everything was fine.
A few days later I get a call from a man claiming to be associated with Mcafee telling me that our network has been hacked and wanted to charge me $400.00 to fix it and to install network protection. By this time I was angry. Told him no that I wasn't paying him any more money, hung up and turned off our computer. A few days later our credit card and debit card were hit for charges that we didn't make. I called Mcafee to ask for a refund and got a Middle Eastern sounding man who told that the Mcafee that was installed on our computer was a free version and there was no charge.
I informed them that it was one of their representatives that downloaded it on our computer and charged us that amount. I asked him if they used third parties to do some of their work. He did not deny that and he told me that it was Home Office in California that installed it on our computer and they were not a part of Mcafee. Bottom line I did not get my refund, AND DO NOT DEAL WITH MCAFEE.

McAfee was included in a deal I had with my internet provider. It didn't cost me extra which is always something that I appreciate. It was an easy investment that has served me well. It works behind the scenes and seems to protect me well. It also prompts me when there is a problem. I don't have to think about it and that makes me happy that I chose this product.

I like McAfee because of the security and the reminders it has for you for your updates and subscriptions. It also comes with a lot of valuable tools. The customer service of this program is hard to match. My overall experience with this software was amazing. It kept my computer, my files and my information safe. I chose this software above all else because of the direct customer service and helpfulness of all of the tools it comes with. But I would like to make the cost for all of the features a bit more affordable to the general public. Not every person with a computer can afford the luxury of paying monthly/yearly for total protection of their computer.

It was referred to me by the company that sold my computer to me. The gentleman said it was one of the best and it's proven itself to me. They are dependable. I've had this service as long as I've had a computer and I've never had issues at all with my computer. The price was within my range and the service was simple to install. Their services are great. But maybe the price could come down a bit since this is a service that everyone should have. They could add some more features to make the service more appealing to purchase.

Spent hours on phone with McAfee customer support from India. Ask for customer service in USA as I was having trouble understanding the rep. Was told McAfee is a global company now. He could try to transfer me but I would probably not get customer service in USA. I was told this by 2 reps and 2 supervisors. 12 hours later the problem was still not solved. Next day another customer service supervisor called. By then I had taken the auto pay off my account and had paid for and downloaded a different Antivirus program on my cpu. I figure if US dollars are good enough to sign up they ought to be good enough to get USA support. DONE WITH MCAFEE. Recommend all my friends DO NOT USE MCAFEE.

This antivirus was recommended to me and I did not find it to be superior to other software currently on the market but I liked some of the features. I like the web protection it offers which can help to screen viruses that live out in cyberspace that can infect your computer as you surf the internet. I also liked that it included auto updates which ran automatically when the company released them. However, it was inefficient at stopping the newest Trojans and worms that live out on the internet.
It does not block a lot of pop-up ads and web ads. Often I would have issues with whatever I viewed online while browsing, popping up as new advertisements in my left or right banner. Also, it is pricey for just one year of protection and it makes the computer move a lot slower. Once I removed McAfee from my system, it ran much quicker and I downloaded a free antivirus software which was much better and did not slow down my computer. This software is highly overrated.

I read reviews on it and saw great things. It was recommended to me by IT specialist at the Nebraska Furniture Mart store when I bought a new computer. The price is not bad at all. It is good value for the money. I like how I can set up a billing agreement or payment plan and pay every month, three months, 6 months or yearly. I like the customer support and also the security checks and warnings I get with my system to make sure everything is taken care of. I like how easy it is to download and use. I also like the features where you can clean your system and detect and block or potential bugs and viruses. The only thing is maybe a free three month trial for new customers and that way they can actually see what it does and how to work with it on their computer. Also for customers who already have the service if they pay for a year give them a year free.

The McAfee antivirus software was recommended to me by those in IT. Also, I have read articles and paid attention to posts that say this antivirus software is of good quality. The McAfee antivirus software runs in the background and it also pop ups and gives warnings before you go to a website. The antivirus software also stops pop up advertisements. I like how I can manually scan for viruses or it is done automatically. I like feeling safe while I am working on my computer, be it using Facebook, email, or generally surfing the web. Also, I deal with my credit card and banking on the internet, so the antivirus software helps me to feel more secure in actions that deal with my finances. I use the computer to access medical records for myself and members of my family.
However, I would like to pay less money, or no money. And I would like to be able to this same antivirus software on my smartphone and Kindle Fire and see an icon that shows how the antivirus software is currently working. I would also like to get updated emails stating what type of viruses have been found and how to avoid them in the future. Also, I would like an email with a newsletter explaining current viruses, how they were passed along and how they were developed.

This software came with my computer and I've seen how well it worked so I decided to purchase it. The product is very well made, the features are quick and easy and it is not hard to operate the program. You can set it up to run on its own and it doesn't take very long. I never had any problems with the product or understanding any of its components. However, it's a bit pricey. More people would purchase the software if it were more affordable. But it's a very good software and it works as it should. It is simple, easily understood and has protected my computer for years. I would recommend it to anyone who asks me about an antivirus software.

I am familiar with McAfee and that is why I chose it for my personal computer. It is very convenient and helps a lot with my work from home business and protecting me from viruses on websites that could harm my computer. It is safe and worth the money you pay. I also like that it protects your identity and personal information on websites. It is all perfectly fine up to date. I dislike the price of the software though. McAfee is a trusted, well-known brand that is readily available to purchase. I did not have any problems with the software. It was a very simple process to follow and everything went really smooth. It did not take very long and the software did everything it was designed to do. You just click through the questions and answers and the software does the work. It's easy to use. But the whole idea that something is wrong with your computer is a stressful thought so explaining the process beforehand could help keep people from stressing out.

It's helped keep my computer clean and free of malware. It's easy to use and effective. It performs the scheduled checks, and I just have to remove any malware. But sometimes the scans pop at inconvenient times, which can cause frustration when I'm doing something time sensitive. It can take a few minutes to get the scan to stop.

I unfortunately downloaded "Free Trial" of McAfee Safe Connect in Dec.2, 2017. I noticed the charge of $6.99 on my bank account in Jan. 2018. I tried to log in to my McAfee account to cancel the subscription but the information given in the email from McAfee confirming my original subscription did not allow for cancellation. I contacted McAfee by phone on Feb. 9th and was on the call for 1 1/2 hours and the representatives could not assist me. They "sent it to a higher level" and assured me that it would be taken care of...
I have since been in contact with McAfee by email and phone on Feb 13, 19, 23. I tried an online chat on March 1st and "spoke" with 3 different "customer service professionals". I also sent a letter with a copy of the original email from McAfee to their home office in Santa Clara, CA. It is now March 10th 2018. I have ANOTHER draft of $6.99 and have not had this easy to solve problem solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MCAFEE PRODUCT AGAIN. I now have to go to my bank, put a stop pay that will cost me $35 to cancel this. It is infuriating.

I bought a subscription for McAfee Safe Connect which was advertised as a month-long trial. It didn't work for me, so I contacted McAfee online support to have the subscription canceled and get a refund two days after I made the purchase. The agent assured me that my request for refund was accepted and would be reviewed within the next few days. A month later, I saw another charge as if I never requested for cancellation and refund of the first one. I called them and asked them to stop charging me because I wasn't using the service and had already put my request in for cancellation and refund. I did not authorize further charges.
To date, I have contacted them six times and they haven't been able to resolve this. During one of the most recent calls, I asked the representative if they could confirm that my subscription was finally canceled. They said "Unfortunately, I cannot tell you that it was". What kind of service is that? Why does it take two months (and counting) to cancel my subscription and NOT charge me again? They kept telling me a supervisor would be contacting me to verify the billing details for my refund, but none of that followed. You were quick to charge me but not to submit a refund? Finally, fed up with their fake promises, I took my issue to my bank and they will be stopping these unauthorized charges. I would not be recommending McAfee to anyone who cares about the safety of their money and their time.

I purchased software the year before on 3/30/17 for $29.99. I did not receive any auto renewal warning, nor did I enroll in auto renewal when I signed up for the subscription. I received an email on 2/28/18 that I was charged $99.99 with their auto renewal. I didn't get a heads up on this and was charged a complete month in advance! I went to their page and logged into my account to verify that it wasn't a phishing email. On their website I was given a chance to sent an escalations email for it to be addressed. I got an email confirmation regarding this message.
On 3/2/18, I called their customer service number to see why I hadn't heard anything back. I then asked for a refund. I was told the auto renewal is so high because it renews at full price, not a discounted price. I informed the lady that if I had gotten a warning that this was going to be charged I wouldn't be discontinuing my business with them but because they just bill with NO warning or chance to get a discounted price before it went through that I was not willing to work with their company any longer and I will deal with another company. I am now waiting for up to 5 business days for my refund to be processed.
I am giving McAfee a 1 star rating as their billing process seems to be a lets charge them and see how many customers just don't pay attention so we get richer scam! Their customer service number has option #1 as their REFUND option! Why is this the first option? They must receive tons of calls and would save on their customer service if they renewed at an acceptable price!

One more thing made me surprise where they get my credit card info?? I have not felt their software working on my laptop until yesterday 23/2/18. I saw they charge $149.95 from my account? There is no signals from them (no invoices to be sent and no communicate at all) - quietly withdraw people money?

The software is fairly easy to set up and use. It does a good job of anti-virus protection on files and websites. It does not have a large performance impact and has options for automatic and manually initiated scans. But it allowed an infection through. It should be more proactive in detection to ensure 100% prevention. It should also be more cost-effective. Otherwise my overall experience has generally been positive with this software.

It keeps my computer from crashing and allows me to complete my homework without allowing viruses to attach which would make my computer be unusable. It kept viruses away and I barely noticed if I had one on my laptop. The only thing I do not like is all the pop-ups that come on the screen every now and it be in the way when I'm on the computer. They were really aggravating. I think a good way for communication also is by email to notify me with updates on the software and to send warnings. I don't really like McAfee but it's what comes with my AOL subscription. It is not effective at getting rid of viruses. It basically just detects issues and then tells you in order to actually get rid of them, you'll have to upgrade and purchase another program. That makes it virtually worthless by taking forever, taking over my computer, and then not doing anything when it finds something anyway. It's ridiculously slow and I don't like that it conflicts with other programs by causing major lag or complete freezing just to run. It doesn't give you any prior warning when it's going to start doing any kind of scan. It needs a major overhaul.

It worked and stopped some viruses from hurting my computer and having a black out screen of death. I don't want to buy a new computer so it does help protect from these things. However, the price can be high so change the price and the design of the name. I want to keep this for my computer use and be able to scan for viruses and watch and see if I have any items to remove.

McAfee products come on many new PCs. You get a "free" subscription to their service, but you never had a choice (as with my Lenovo Yoga). It's preloaded and they even piggyback on legitimate registration info (not sure if Lenovo or Microsoft) from what you actually meant to buy and spam you incessantly to sign up. You also get constant pop-up notifications for the same until you uninstall. They also have a similar practice when you download Adobe Reader. There's no option not install. McAfee is a shady company that can't seem to market/compete on their product's own merit, so they've turned themselves in parasitic bloatware bundled with PCs.

Moreover, I liked the McAfee antivirus software better than others because it has good credibility and good prices for services. I have also read reviews on the McAfee antivirus software company that have lead me to believe that they have a reputable company.

It was easy to use and easy to understand the directions, and there are many pointers in case something goes wrong. There is also a toll-free number to call if you have any issues. But I wish that there was not any pop-up ads that come up. It is very annoying and it can mess up things that I doing. Also I think that there should be a website that you can chat with troubleshooting employees to help you if there is an issue.

McAfee was easy to install and does not take up too much space in the pc. Much less than its competitors. The other frontrunner, Norton, was too expensive and too intrusive when installed. Also it was too technical to install in the first place...too many options. McAfee can be scaled to install only the features that you need. But it tends to slow down the operation of the pc. In a test, I determined that when it is not installed I run faster than when I have all the protective features running.

I like the ease of control that I have with the program and that I can choose my level of security too. It is helpful to be able to change it when needed. The price is high but worth paying for. I choose McAfee because my family and my friends use it so they recommend me to try it and it was good for the purpose. They all had bad things to say about it but I wanted to judge and try the anti-virus for myself cause only one can be the judge of products for them selves right. It was very simple to install and navigate. It worked great on the cookies and it did what I expected it to do for keeping the viruses blocked from my computer. It took the time to sweep all of the apps and files on my computer which I liked and it told me which ones were infected and which ones they cleared with the sweeping of the anti-virus. The price of this product was insanely expensive though. It also needs less time to install. It took hours and was slow at doing its job. It has worked great for me in the past when I got a Trojan horse and either removed it or put it in a vault. But it will start updating when I'm using my laptop and causes it to slow down. It does attack the threats on my computer or tablet and it seems to work just fine. I like that it notifies me for updates and so far I haven't had any issues with it. The only thing I really hate is how long everything takes. It scans so slowly and it does get really annoying cause it wants you to scan your computer more than most software do. Maybe because my internet is so slow but a simple scan for 0 threats found shouldn't take all day to find.
I also get random expire notifications when clearly I just purchased a 12 month disc. It also gets annoying when I forgot to update it or scan my laptop but that's on me not the company. I would definitely buy again but I am looking to buy a cheaper antivirus product. The cost and time I have to put into it sucks. If I find a cheaper program I will most likely change to them. My computer came with McAfee software pre-installed. When the subscription ran out I tried switching over to Windows Defender and I couldn't because it claimed another software package was installed. I thought I fixed the problem, but I guess McAfee never really left my system, because even after I've uninstalled it Windows Defender can't turn on live time protections because there's another program blocking it. When I go to the Action Center and view installed virus protection apps it shows the Status of McAfee as Not Protected and the status of Windows Defender as Off. When I click on McAfee the Take Action button becomes enabled allowing me to sign up for a subscription to pay to be protected on a computer that I already paid good money for. When I click on Windows Defender it remains disabled.
I've uninstalled Mcafee software completely and Windows Defender is able to be opened, but Live Time protection is still blocked. I've gone to services and Windows Defender was already automatically running by this point. Finally I tried a System Restore in desperation and I'm back with the Mcafee software blocking windows defender and trying to scare me into paying them a subscription. I blame not only Mcafee, but the producers of laptops that have Mcafee pre-installed. This is a totally horrible racket. I know that Windows Defender would work just fine because I have it on other computers. In this case Asus is also to blame. I'm sure they're getting a cut of the profits from the victims of digital extortion who pay the subscription fee. From now on I'm checking to see if any so called "anti-virus" software is pre-installed to leech money from me after I've already paid for the laptop.

This should be automatic but it is NOT. They also have many issues with fields that require security answers. They automatically fill them in with either the login name or password. I worked with Tier II at Intel to resolve some of these issues but they do not seem to get fixed. The original version had no limits to how many accounts you set up. Then 16 months later, I got a bill for an automatic renewal... so for those months, we were paying for service for 2 computers. So we got no service from McAfee, and in essence, they cancelled a service that we had already paid for, and when we found this out after receiving service from another company, we were not offered a refund.
In my opinion, they stole from us. I finally had to uninstall the entire program. We subscribed to McAfee Internet Security and were customers for about a year and six months. We got discounts from them each time we renewed or we would have looked for something else. The program on our computer proved to be defenseless against hackers. Ransomware gained access to our computer and tried to get us to pay them a lot of money. We were bothered by Ransomware by phone too but we managed to get rid of them ourselves and fixed the virus ourselves. McAfee did nothing to help us nor did their security program work. We feel that they provide poor internet security and you may not realize how bad their service is until you get bothered by hackers like Ransomware. We have Windows Defender and its free to use and was provided with our computer and it works better than McAfee. Don't use McAfee because they are a waste of your money!

Took too long to find that McAfee Antivirus by freaking default installs Yahoo search into Firefox! This is called abusive manglement by despicable programmers. To fix this problem requires removing Mcafee. DO IT! Any company that forces you to use third party crap without your expressed approval is WORTHLESS. To avoid having to use a virus checker requires that you surf sanely. This means never clicking on anything in your email, never install anything you aren't sure of its source. THESE ARE NEVERS! It is exactly like the rules to safe sex.
Do yourself a favor, install a decent firewall. Don't believe that Microsoft is wondrous, they have always had ulterior motives (see Outlook, ponder Edge). I suggest installing ZoneAlarm. Found it when it first arrived on the scene, have used it sans antivirus for over twenty years. NEVER BEEN INFECTED!!! I also suggest you install and use as your primary browser, Opera. (http://www.opera.com/).
The Internet was once highly useful, you can return to useful provided you follow these rules. Lastly, contact your congress representatives to tell them you want email source verification. This would end spam, most cracks, and improve surfing speeds. The only people that would scream murder are the service providers ('cause it requires CPU cycles) and the filth that wants to own you.

The customer service that I asked for this to be done, was very rude, talked over me as I tried to tell her that I wanted it removed and did not care for the product but as I would try to talk to her she kept very loudly talking at the same time and would not let me get a word in until I finally had to raise my voice and ask her to stop talking so I could get a word in. I finally just hung up on her. I proceeded to contact PayPal and asked them to cancel my payment and why. They tried but it is still in Resolution case number is, **. I have no order number, and as of now, McAfee will not cooperate. It has been over a week and they will not refund the money back to my account.
Pay Pal is trying to resolve this. I will wait until the time they said it might take but today, McAfee redownloaded the anti virus again with out my knowledge and it was running and disrupting my computer. I finally went to Control Panel and removed them again. I think they should be put out of business by someone, whom ever does that and made to pay a fine or something. They are terrible and had my computer so messed up. I have had it with them. I can't do anything else. I am still waiting for my refund. McAfee refused to refund me one year's subscription for Antivirus Software which I no longer require and which was in a sneaky way charged to my Credit Card. Their excuse was that 60 days had elapsed since they charged my account even though they debited my account one month before the amount was due. I emailed them as soon as I realised what happened and only a few days past the 60 day limit. Yes technically it is my fault for not reading all the fine print, however I find it is very deceitful to automatically charge my credit card without specific correspondence and my specific acknowledgment to that effect.
I find it also disappointing that they would not refund the remaining 300 days of subscription. They claim that I received an email prior to being charged the annual amount but I could not find anything in my Inbox or in my Junk Email folder. Be aware of these sleazy tricks, I will never again purchase anything from McAfee because of their lack of tolerance and customer support in this regard.

All of a sudden the Adobe flash player crashed non-stop, the screen would freeze or worse, shut down in the middle of a file, I was working on. (Losing all that I had been working on just now). So I gave in and paid the 30 US dollars - which in reality turned out to be 36 dollars - and now things are cool. For the moment. Now, I'm not an expert, don't know anything about apps, devices and so on, but I have this ugly suspicion that the problems I endured today was caused by McAfee. I was cheated by McAfee in the name of thanksgiving rebate. I ended up in paying 59$ during this offer purchased at Frys.com. The fancy statement was they will sell the product for 59$ and will refund it later. They instructed us to send the proof of the purchase, duly filled rebate form etc. to a address. I properly followed the procedure and no update until April 2016. I believed McAfee was genuine and they won't trash their customers. When I started to track, the customer care updated me that the proof of purchase was missing from my original package. I believed they will keep up their promise and shared the receipt once again.
After a couple of months when I started to follow up they asked the receipt for one more time. Sent again, the response was as follows: "Dear **, Tracking Number: **. Thank you for contacting the McAfee Rebate Center. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately this promotion is closed already and we cannot place any further modifications, we could not honor this rebate. We look forward for you participating in our future promotions. Thank you for contacting the McAfee Rebate Center. Your satisfaction is our priority! Have a great day. Angel **, Rebates Customer Service." Friends, please don't get trapped by such fancy advertisements and suffer like me later. These are all product selling techniques. They just randomly select few folks and honor their rebates but not to everyone. I know one other friend of mine who is also sailing on the same boat.

Recently during my computer updating time, I lost some driver files. I use my computer rescue function to get the file back. But McAfee stop me to do so, and let to register, then let me pay for it. Since I do not like the McAfee and do not want to use it, so I do not pay for it. The McAfee is my nightmare. My rescue job cannot be finished. My printer cannot print anything. What can I do? The McAfee has the right to stop my fixing work?

I had problems this weekend where McAfee Total Protection stopped Real Time Scanning my laptop. Every time I turned Scanning on, it turned itself off again. The McAfee help desk in India helped me solve this problem which was caused by the Microsoft update, KB3161561, released on 14 June 2016. However, in trying to diagnose the problem, we tried to re-install McAfee but it did not make any difference. Part of the clean-up process tried using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR) and McAfee Pre-Installer. MCPR worked OK but McAfee Pre-Installer deleted all the files on my desktop, my outlook personal folders, all my photographs and all my word and excel documents.
Yes, I'm using capitals because I am furious. Only after using McAfee Pre-Installer did I find reports of this program causing these types of problems. I HAVE NOW LOST YEARS OF DATA BECAUSE OF A BAD PIECE OF MCAFEE SOFTWARE THAT IS STILL RECOMMENDED ON THE MCAFEE WEBSITE. This is disgraceful and McAfee should remove it now before anyone else suffers as I have.

I found the product did not catch viruses. I still had to use other products to maintain my PC. Also, when I had an issue with renewal, customer service was TERRIBLE. Even though I cancelled the renewal, the transaction still went through and had a difficult time getting my money back. Every time I spoke with someone I had to start at the beginning even when I gave all the service request numbers. I asked for a simple yes or no answer to a question and ended up getting transferred to a supervisor. They were impossible to deal with.

I bought McAfee Live Safe. A trial subscription came with my Dell Computer. After some looking into it is sounded good so I bought it. Within weeks I started getting tons of ads and popups. McAfee software scans came up empty. Called for support and was told that some unwanted programs were on my computer. If I wanted their help it would cost me another $179.00, on top of the $89.00 I just spent. One of the reasons I bought it was because it stated it protected me from unwanted software, adware, malware, and viruses. I spent hours on the phone and chatting with people I could not understand because their English was so bad. McAfee can go pound salt. Live Safe is totally ineffective and McAfee does not do as they claim in the ads. Junk!

I purchased McAfee Internet Security on 5-10-16 and tried to get it running. They had my account from a previous year, and every time I tried to log in to McAfee I got a message that my account was expired! I tried their phone support 2 times, and I could not understand the tech (he was from the Philippines), and he did not help me. I then tried their Chat system, but again, after almost an hour there was no solution. Finally I sent an email explaining everything.
Finally I received a telephone call from someone who said he was from McAfee, asking for my credit card and telling me that he was going to take over my computer for 25-30 minutes to fix the problem. I told him that I did not like giving my credit card info and have someone work on my computer for 30 minutes. I asked that they solve the problem in their offices and let me know when they did, but they refused. I then asked that they send me an email with instructions that I can follow myself, and he refused. When I told them that I would just cancel my purchase and use another security system the tech said "ok" and hung up.
I will not use McAfee again when they cannot solve a problem without going through such shenanigans! And I suggest that anyone who needs support from McAfee will be sorely disappointed. They should use English speaking technicians and make solving a problem easy for their customers, rather than handling problems as they did with me.

I can't begin to express in words how annoyed I am with this product. I purchased a 1000+ PC today and should have wondered why the salesman was so eager to sell me the McAfee LIVESAFE. I should have reviewed it first or asked someone who knew about computers what the product was like. 1st of all the installation process is beyond a joke. I had to contact their customers services to rectify it. I was put through to the Philippines and after constantly having to correct or repeat what I was saying, or asking her what she was saying I lost it and asked for a call centre in the UK. I was transferred to INDIA, which is apparently the UK call centre!!!
Yet again I had issues with constantly repeating myself and correcting the person on the phone but having no choice but to continue. I eventually get it installed via remote onto my desktop, only to find the program is now causing WINDOWS 10 to not accept updates onto my computer. The APP is on my phone less than 3 hours and its locked out! Took me an hour to get it unlocked. How do you access a pin via email when your phone is locked and that's how you access your emails!!!
Enough was enough so I contacted the refunds dept to get a refund. I shall try at extract blood from a stone tomorrow. I shall have better luck. This firm and this product somehow passed US and EU trading regulations (someone was clearly paid off) which is a mystery as now that I am looking at the reviews I wish I had never purchased the product in the first place.
My advice to anyone is stay well away from this company and this product. They use cheap labour in foreign countries with no call centre assistance in either the US, UK or Europe... probably their biggest market. Good luck to anyone attempting to get their money back. I rarely do reviews but this firm takes the biscuit. I shall go back to AVG, and LOOKOUT SECURITY for mobile. Way better even with just the free version.

I still find their security TOP, the problem being working with a cheaper phone already outdated per technology. My problem with this ZTE is the back Windows continue to add spyware in which everyone is pay to from apps. The app store I think is lowering the standards of the apps they accept and most people aren't as smart as the phones. McAfee DOES catch the worst issues however I'm still stuck on some sort of open internet. McAfee described on the Heartbleed app I can not find the setting as they say something is turned off and found no repair. Doing Google Search also with having to reset the phone and looking data you may need at a later time. ALSO I have a suspicion my phone service has been illegally paired with other phones. This model phone fails to explain much of the programming so you have to guess at setting and it does appear my setting some have been illegally blocked for me to make changes.

McAfee - a complete nightmare from start to finish and beyond. First - for any kind of support you connect to India. While I applaud these folks for speaking more than one language - something I cannot do sadly - their accents are thick, and they speak quickly. I found them very hard to understand. And I really want to speak to someone in America. I live and use my computer in America. I am always offended when I am connected to India. Aside from that, I bought the McAfee system, installed it and it promptly broke my computer. Windows icon would not open. Internet icon would not open. Internet froze.
They insisted it was my computer, but I had been working all morning without a single glitch. It is a new computer and it works great. It was the product, not my computer. I spent hours with them trying to fix it. Then I had to spend more hours on the phone trying to get a refund for the product price (the McAfee software was removed from my computer). Then more hours with a paid technician to resolve the tech issues. Then a refund for that because they could not fix it. I spent hours & hours & my computer and a friend finally fixed it. The computer is finally running again but permanently changed, not for the better. I NEVER devote time to reviews, but this was so bad I really had to write a review. McAfee never again.

McAfee livesafe trial came along installed on my new computer's operating system when I bought it. It was the first time I've used McAfee's security software and I liked it very much... except that after I've installed more software on my computer, it started making the computer perform slower than usual. Although I liked that it automatically scans all devices or flash drives connected on my computer, it still wasn't able to delete or warn me about the desktop.ini virus that came through one of the flash drives accessed on my computer. I now have some nuisance plaguing my directories.
Also, I love McAfee's safe site advisor. It was able to warn me about harmful sites especially those shared on Facebook. In sum, although I liked McAfee, I did not try to purchase it when the trial period expired. After reading reviews here for those who experienced purchasing it, I do not wish to go through the same trouble they've gone through especially that I'm not in the US where help support could be more difficult to seek.

I bought the McAfee full protection online via PC website which linked me to their site. I then paid for downloaded the software May 14, 2016. They gave an excellent review which I trusted. I removed my old antivirus at the same time, no problem. After the download and install I started using my McAfee. I did some of the programs on their software PC performance, defrag... It even said I needed to update Adobe Reader.
I restarted the computer. This is when all went BAD. :( I started getting error messages. I couldn't access YouTube. My system started freezing when I tried to access many of my other software programs. I went to McAfee's tech support and it asked me to download a file in order to chat with them. Well it downloaded but it wouldn't install. I would have been better off keeping my Avira antivirus. My audio programs don't work so I can't SKYPE McAfee. I can't uninstall McAfee; the computer freezes. I may have to get a TECHIE to reformat my hard drive. :( This is a nightmare.

We put this on our office computers and it caused all of the computers to slow down. It took 2 days for our office manager to fix most of the computers, but it is 10 days later and the 2 doctor computers are mind-numbingly SLOW and their customer service is horrible and will not help us! I would not recommend their program to an enemy!!
