I was unable to load my McAfee security product. While on the McAfee download site I engaged McAfee Technical Support. They were unable to download the product. After a free analysis, they claimed that my computer had multiple problems and for $129 they would repair my computer. I said no, and bought and loaded a Norton product. I continue to receive calls that my computer will fail if I do not repair it.

I recently had an auto renewal charge billed to my credit card that I did not notice right away for a laptop that I no longer use. I was a little mystified at how this charge went through since it was tied to an invalid email address and an expired credit card. I reached out via email and the email correspondence went fine and they were able to cancel the auto renewal. In the email correspondence, he recommended that I call the customer service to get a full refund issued.

I called and had a completely terrible experience. The lady I spoke to was completely unhelpful and took her a while to even find the account I was referring to even after I gave her the incident number. Since the 60 day time frame had passed, she only kept repeating that this had time frame had passed and she could do nothing more about the charge. I understood that the 60 day time frame had passed, but I did not feel like that I was properly notified about the auto-renewal since the email should have generated a kickback and the credit card on file was also expired. They did not seem to care and would offer any other comments outside the generic "60 day time frame." Having had such an awful experience with customer service, I will no longer utilize McAfee with any of my computer devices and will not recommend them to anyone either.

I tried to load and an error came up on the screen and I was required to call an 800 number. Apparently the number is in India (very hard to understand). Long story short I need to pay them 110.32 so they can fix my new computer. She informed me I had some outdated drives and 2,400 something errors... Really I don't think so. I just had the same experience that happened last year. Since I used McAfee on my computers I went to their support site to see if they could solve a problem. They were not able to fix it either time. Techs were on with my computer for 10 hrs this time and said they fixed it when it wasn't true. When the "support" was finally over I was told pay $400 by a bank withdrawal (only way) and they would send me my contract. When I said I didn't have any contract he just laughed. Original cost given to me was $250. I want nothing more to do with McAfee. Like others, I felt it was to protect my computer. Not the protection I want! Also, I wonder who McAfee has working for them on support. I was given two different names, contacted by an 800 number and a local number. It all felt like a sham. I got taken!

I purchased a McAfee subscription in 2015 and it recently expired. I now have new coverage because I was not that happy with the old coverage. I am not able to clean my computer without paying additional costs even though I have McAfee pop ups every day telling me to get started on a computer scan. Now they have charged me almost $100.0, which is 3X the amount I spent to begin with, and I never gave them authorization to do so. They claim to be giving me a refund but it will take a week to get my money back. I live paycheck to paycheck and having $100 less than I planned to pay my bills is a hardship. I am very upset with how they handle business and I will not be returning to them in the future.

When the initial program was (finally) loaded by a support rep from HP, I was told McAfee software assistance was free with the program! Plus, it covered all my other devices as well! I tried loading to my other desktop and received errors and problems. Called McAfee. Which is Intel Security. Right now, and was told to load a code into my browser for software assistance and instantly, a blue screen popped up with a Virus Alert telling me I have a virus. Course I'm on the phone with McAfee support and they are telling me that they can "fix" that for sixty nine bucks for a one time charge OR $179.00 for a year! I told them immediately what they could do with that!

Called my hardware service and the program was immediately taken off via the "task manager!" Yes, that simple! It wasn't a virus at all and I was told that it was a scam! Since looking this up today, I clicked on McAfee complaints and found this to be rampant in the complaints. I believe something needs to be done to correct this. I can't believe that HP supports this. I am truly amazed! So... buyer beware!

I have been a McAfee customer for years. I recently discovered that they have a huge scam going. Last year my upgrade would not load, so they sent me to their tech master department, who told me that my computer had viruses that they could remove for $179, even though their software was monitoring my computer for the past year. Guess what, this year the same thing happened, but the cost was now $209. After paying the fee, spending 5 hours on the phone, and trying to install the software 8 times, the tech person told me that I needed to buy a new computer!! I purchased a program from a different company, had it bought, installed & running in 15 minutes. Therefore, I called McAfee for a refund. After 3 hours & speaking to 6 different people who claimed to refund the fee, I ended up being disconnected. I will file suit against them, but if you are thinking about purchasing this program, stay far, far away!

Never remotely connected with computer, several times told me not to call the number on the pop-up. It is a scam and they will charge me money to fix problem. Then their solution was a week fix for 70 dollars. I purchased their product for protection and in turn received a monetary demand to take back control of my computer.

Customer support is provided by AT&T Uverse and the quality depends on the help desk technician you connect with. I've had outstanding, over and above, support and I've had hangup and try again support. Given that it is free from Uverse the price is excellent as is the value for the dollar. The reliability is fine - it stays up and works. I've only had one issue where it failed to update/install with Windows 10 but one of the outstanding help desk technicians helped (after being told Windows 10 wasn't supported). I've used McAfee for years - perhaps since it came out, both at work and home and never had any virus/malware issues.

In today's sophisticated technological environment you cannot depend on only one virus protection program to keep your computer safe. The virus today are more invasive and require continual monitoring if you even want to attempt to keep your computer safe. At work we were invaded by the "ransom virus"! Lost every Word file, and then some did not pay the $25K ransom as demanded... Had to literally start over. Not fun. And that was with McAfee, AVG and Microsoft anti-virus programs.

I have never contacted customer support because I have had no need. The antivirus came with the computer and has worked fine, no problems and it's been two years now since I've had it. It does everything automatically but you can also decide to do different clean-ups yourself in between the automatic scans, from defragmenting to getting rid of temporary files to removing cookies, etc. You can do a quick clean or a thorough one or just let the antivirus do its thing all by itself. Love it! It came with the computer with a lifetime upgrade. I don't have to do anything or worry about it. In comparison to my last computer, it is a fantastic value! I had not heard of it prior to purchasing my new laptop. If your new computer/laptop comes with it, do not mess with it or try to install a different antivirus (like my neighbor did and messed up her brand new laptop). It is just as good as the ones I had in the past if not better.

For example, I still have a McAfee icon that I've not figured out how to get rid of as the underlying code has been deleted. Haven't had it very long and haven't used the customer support yet. Anti-virus, anti-spam, spyware protection, firewall and web protection are the features of the McAfee total protection pkg I have- I'm only okay on computer stuff and this was very straightforward and easy to use. I had priced this at about $70 and they ran a special online for a short time period and got it for $30. Plus it can be utilized on my Mac or my phone or can be shared with family so that's pretty neat.

Software seems to be doing its job and recently downloaded some software with questionable add-ons attached to it apparently and so this isolated and asked if it should continue and therefore allowed me to stop this unwanted stuff. Like I said I've only had it a short while but seems very reliable and it is software I've had before on older computers. I like this software and the price when I bought it was just right for me, it's easy to use and understand and it's good for a year so my hope is that at the end of the year another special will come up and allow me to renew at the same price I originally paid... or less. :)

I have two major issues with McAfee. For my home computer, McAfee has been charging my credit card $39.99 since 2007 for a service I have not received in 5 years (Since I decommissioned that computer in 2012). In their automatic renewal program, they just kept charging. Here is the problem. The emails you sent me reminding me of the renewal went to a spam folder so I never saw them. I talked to customer service and they will only refund the last year. So why didn't I catch it each year? I mistakenly thought my new computer was being supported. It was not.

For my daughter's computer, my credit card has been charged since 2012. The computer was decommissioned since 2014. The notifications went to an email that was no longer used. This was for $79.00 a year. And BTW, she was a minor who signed up for the service. McAfee needs to STOP recurring charges without a positive confirmation from the customer each year. This type of practice is exactly the type of scams McAfee is claims they are trying to protect their customers from. I know you McAfee make a boat load of money this way, customers paying who don't use your service, but it's akin to the magazine subscriptions you sign up for that you can't get stop from them changing you every year. I have called customer services, spend 30 minutes, was told a supervisor would call me back. Nothing. I will now be looking for another security provider.

I installed McAfee when I first got my laptop because it was a good program. My father suggested a different one a few months later and I got the free trial. I ran both at the same time and McAfee said everything was fine and the new one found several problems. I gave McAfee a few more chances and then uninstalled it when it expired. Yesterday I saw that McAfee had reinstalled itself without even asking and said I would be receiving a bill. I contacted them immediately and said I did not want it or a bill. The system forced me to create an account before letting me see the details. I had to go into my computer to uninstall it myself and I am checking my bank account to make sure no charges are placed.

I have VIPRE Computer Malware protection and don't want anything to do with McAfee. I have gone online and have researched numerous sites, and one thing the have in common is that they will take your money to maybe fix the matter. I find this practice simply uncalled for and demand an explanation from McAfee themselves. I have been taken by other so called help lines before, and it wasn't very pleasing.

I want internet security but McAfee as far as I am concerned provides me with nothing. All I get are constant pop up screens asking me to determine if I want to allow a program to access my computer. I am not a computer programmer and cannot read most to the abbreviated links to whatever program. Much less determine if that update or access should be allowed or if it is a possible attack on my computer. That is what I am paying McAfee to determine. McAfee should determine if it's safe or block it but they want me to make all the decisions. Their protection service is all but useless unless you're a computer geek who understands the coded crap trying to access your computer.

I purchase McAfee anti-virus and anti-spyware protection on 11-11-2015 for 2 years for $295.95. 2 years is the shortest subscription they offer. I was promised that nobody would be able to hack into my computer. The next day, someone hacked into my computer, and my computer is now useless. I called McAfee on 11-15-2015 to get a refund. I had to fill out a long form and fax it to them that day. I was told by the representative that I would receive a full refund within 3 weeks. I called them after almost 4 weeks and pressed the refund department. I was on hold for 32 minutes, then when I finally reached someone they told me I had to talk to Tech Masters, and I was put on hold for another 15 minutes before I gave up. I was transferred between the refund department and Tech Masters every time I called.

Finally, I was told to call Shift Bank Solutions. They were very belligerent with me, and only offered me $100. I was told I'd receive the $100 in one to eight days. It's been 8 days, and I haven't received any money refunded to me. They have all been very condescending to me and have made this an extremely stressful experience. I think they rip people off from getting one cent in refunds. I recommend strongly that people don't purchase anything at all from McAfee, they'll just get ripped off by them.

Tech said he needed to take over my computer, who then said I had over 70 foreign IPS and another 15-20 waiting, not to mention over 30+ languages listed on my computer. What was that about? Tech then stated McAfee couldn't get rid of these and I needed to purchase a program for $249.00 to really clean out my computer. Wait what? He was pushy to the point of being rude when I said "no" as I am a senior citizen who can't spend that kind of money. He stated McAfee won't and isn't supposed to clean all that other stuff out my computer, that's why I needed to spend such a large amount of money!!!

I hung up thinking I had called the wrong company/department or maybe I ended up at a phishing site!!! Made the mistake of calling McAfee again thinking I had the wrong number, not so. Same line just a different person! I was put on hold yet again for 2 hrs 45 mins again!!! Let it be known, while a Corporation out of California, I never ever spoke with someone who could speak clear English! I am sorry to say but after waiting 2hrs and 45 mins, I was done. I wanted them to take me off their auto payment immediately! I was again put on hold for about 20 mins. or so. I can't say for sure the time frame as by then I was done with them! I am not going to deal with McAfee ever again. I did contact my bank, time will tell if my bank account isn't charged. Buyer beware!!! Left me thinking it is a bait-and-switch. I suppose if the only thing you use your computer for is scanning for viruses, then maybe. But for the rest of us in the real world who actually use our computers to do work, we quickly realize that McAfee is only marginally better than actually catching a virus. I got a license of this software for free about the time I upgraded to Windows 10 and I promptly installed it across all of my computers. This pig of a piece of software managed to bring some of my more powerful workstations to their knees during its obnoxious system scan which apparently can use up to 8 threads (or more?), relegating my computers to unusable until the scan finishes.

Want to pause the scan so you can get some work done? Nope, you can't even kill it in task manager. I've since been uninstalling this pariah off of all of my computers opting instead for AVG free edition. McAfee's software is kind of like getting the flu shot. Do you want a guaranteed mini-flu for a few days or do you want to just take your chances?

McAfee software will not protect your computer from viruses. I have purchased the top dog complete virus protection software for $100/yr. That is supposed to be completely and 100% comprehensive protection. Here in lies the problem. Once you install the software on your machines you WILL notice a small slow down. According to the professionals I had to hire to fix my computer and get rid of McAfee, the software uses a large amount of system resources. This slows down your machine NOTICEABLY and will also prevent you from running multiple programs at once. I am not exactly sure how this works, but my advisor suggest installing and changing the hardware configuration to properly run McAfee along with my other programs. No one has time or money for that.

Even worse than that: over the course of 2 years of utilizing this service on 3 different machines, I contracted two different viruses on two separate machines. Each time I did have to hire a separate company to repair the viruses. Calling McAfee won't help you because an overseas company named iYogi answers the phone and tries to sell you their remote repair services. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. It is not McAfee, it's a scam company named iYogi that will try and repair your computer for a fee. I repeat: McAfee will not help you fix your computer if you get a virus using their software. I did some research and came up with a SafePCFix which specializes in fixing malware remotely. They were similar to iYogi, except based in the United States, and speak English as their first language. They also GUARANTEE their software, so if I get a virus, they remove it for me! I don't know any company that stands behind their protection software.

It's also a lifetime license. Win-win-win. Be careful installing McAfee on your computer. I was fine for about 9 months before I got my first virus. Sure, it slowed the computer down, but I was okay with that assuming that it protected my machine. I started doing research after I had paid for my 2nd year and got another virus on my machines. Once that happened I stumbled on all the reviews and went on a search for someone else to fix McAfee's problem. Do not buy this junk. Get something more trustworthy and from someone who actually stands behind the products they sell.

No way was I going to pay more for them to rectify their own McAfee issue!!!! In fact, I did this myself in the end by deleting all McAfee files from my computer and then reinstalled it using a link sent from my mobile phone. Job done.. and money still in my pocket and not theirs!! I have since downloaded 'Malwarebytes' (free product) which has worked like a dream to remove the unwanted adware and protect my computer. I happened to get 1 year of free subscription of McAfee free with my newly purchased laptop. I had used McAfee a few years back but switched to Norton after the subscription ended. Upon setting up and starting to use the laptop, I realized that the McAfee program had disappeared. So I visited the McAfee website for support. They had a few options for me to get assistance but I went with contacting the staff directly. He was quite well versed and aided me in reinstalling the program via the website which I thought had solved all my problems.

When I next used my laptop 2 weeks later(was meant to be used only for work). I found that the client kept prompting me that the real-timing scanning function was down. I tried running a manual scan and was unable to do so as well. So remembering my previous problem, I got in touch with the support staff again. This time however, the support staff appeared to be extremely inexperienced and did not seem to have the solution to my problem (I would assume they should as I recalled having a similar problem when using McAfee before). At that point, I was willing to be patient and wait for them to provide me a solution. Instead, the staff requested remote access to my computer and started fiddling around with the local client (much like the way I was doing so which totally annoyed me as it just showed how much of a total noob he/she was).

After about an hour, yes a whole HOUR, of fiddling, the staff got me to run a program called McAfee Virtual Technician to try to troubleshoot. It did not work. Next the staff got me to restart my computer a few times and try reinstalling the client. The staff finally gave me a program to wipe McAfee off my computer as well as a new installer and told me it should work and hung up. IT DID NOT. The installer could not install due to some error and I had to factory reset my laptop to get it to install. Finally, after installing, the scanning issue was gone. However, I now had a new issue where my computer would hang ever so often as McAfee would try to update but fail. Now all it tells me is either "your computer is at risk" or that my product is not registered. For ** sake! P.S. Real-time scanning is still starting up and I have already reinstalled more than 10 times.

I purchased a Lenovo G50 which came with Mcafee antivirus 30-day trial period. It seemed a thorough product so I subscribed for 12 months... I had difficulty with viruses from then on. One particular virus; BACK DOOR-FCNC! 51B7F06BB9C6 was identified and quarantined upon which I selected remove and delete. Soon after running manually a full scan the same virus was there again. Considering That I use my computer conservatively and don't ever view or download from any potentially suspicious websites, I became a little concerned.

Upon contacting Mcafee and speaking to persons with broken English who appeared to make it as difficult as possible to receive support, I was informed that it will cost $$$ for any assistance to remove these threats. I am also concerned now with regards their automatic renewal system which I disabled at first subscription but who knows? So I now intend to have my master card replaced just to be sure. My recommendation is don't buy Mcafee. Kaspersky is very good!!

I was given a new laptop for Christmas. Of course, I was incredibly happy, now I had my own computer. It came with a 1 month free trial of McAfee Livesafe. It worked great... Until the trial ran out. I started getting these obnoxious pop-ups stating that my trial had run out. I disabled the program, and the pop-ups stopped, until I restarted my computer. They started again. I went into my control panel for what opens on start, and McAfee is there. So I took it off.

Here's the kicker. As SOON as I click accept, my computer drops to a crawl. It got ridiculous, with programs as simple as notepad taking HOURS to open. I went and combed my system file after file, after file and I found no less than SEVEN Trojans that I had to remove manually, with the help of some of my more technologically inclined friends. That made me rather mad, because this was all in the day that McAfee expired, meaning it didn't protect me as it said it would.

Fast forward one or two restarts later, they're back. I was STEAMED. As a fourteen year old, I knew enough about technology to go right on and reset my entire computer. I called my local tech support shop (NOT McAfee, DO NOT CALL McAfee) afterwards to immediately remove McAfee from my system. They did, and I thanked them. But one interesting piece of information, they found a RAT, or a Remote Access Trojan. This means they can control my computer whenever they feel like it. So when I leave my computer on, they can tap in and reinstall their programs, which they did. Oh, did I mention that RATs are 100% illegal? So I am damned near positive that McAfee is breaking the law. Without a doubt in my mind, I convinced my family to switch to Kaspersky, a more expensive but EXPONENTIALLY better AV with better tech support, that's for sure. Don't buy McAfee, ever, if you want your computer to work.

About a week after the reminders started to come I could not open many programs on computer. I would click on them and nothing would happen. I also could not delete any files from my recycle bin or computer. I am not saying there was something in the renewal reminders that caused this. However as soon as I removed McAfee from my PC everything worked fine.

I have worked in many tech support contact centres and during that time I would receive calls from customers who could not get files to open or connect to the internet and many times they were just about to renew their security software license. And if we took off the software they could connect. I believe McAfee has something in their software that causes the software to interfere with the operation of the computer when you are about 2 months from renewal. What else can explain the fact that when I removed the software everything was fine. Turning off the firewall or disabling the real time anti virus was not enough - the software had to be removed. I will not use their software again.

I got charged despite my credit card number changing in November of 2014. The credit card company rolled forward the charge from my old credit card number 'as a convenience' so I did not have to update my account. I have the credit card company now blocking McAfee from charging my card and they have given me a refund. I probably have been charged in other years and missed it. The block I am told is only valid up to the cc expiration date. When I get a new card in 2019, I have to look for this again because if McAfee bills again, it will probably hit my cc.

McAfee came pre-installed in my Lenovo G580. I let it sit there because it seemed to be working but after a month or so, annoying nag screens started showing up stating that my subscription had ran out. Updates still worked with the annoying nag screens, and my computer still seemed protected. This went on for at least a few weeks. Until finally I saw some new messages start saying things like "Your Trial Will End Tomorrow" and "Your Protection Will End Tomorrow." That very day literally a few hours before McAfee was scheduled to shut itself off, for the very first time ever since I have ever configured it, EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit) captured a virus attempting to manipulate Windows and automatically shutdown Firefox.

More interesting is that my Firefox is not even allowed to run in the normal system. I have a program called Sandboxie that runs applications in a "sandbox" outside the system for security, so for EMET to find and neutralize the threat, it has to go through Sandboxie and then past McAfee and Spyhunter, etc. How likely is that? It really doesn't make sense that this happened at all, but for it to occur exactly at this point in time is extremely unlikely. The only software that can easily bypass Sandboxie and hit EMET is McAfee itself because it is hooking at the lower level underlying drivers to function.

After that happened the next day, protection ended as promised by McAfee. McAfee shutdown all of its protections including all real-time scanning and the firewall, yet McAfee left itself there running doing nothing but sitting there eating resources and by continuing to leave itself there running, it effectively blocks Microsoft Windows from switching over to using the built-in virus protection Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. That is really outrageous in my opinion for a large company to behave this way. People should boycott this company until it is under new management, in my opinion.

He then transferred me to someone in billing who stated that they would require payment up front before any repairs would begin. I'm naive I guess because I assumed (Dirty Word) that this would be covered by the contract. They gave me a choice of a 5 year plan for only $524 plus fees for a total of $699.00. I advised her that I did not want to play that game, so she asked if I was a senior citizen (currently 85). She then suggested that I was qualified for their one year discount plan. She could let me have this plan for only $299.99. I told her no thanks and she transferred me back to the original agent.

We had quite a discussion. I was watching the screen of my PC and noticed one of their internal memos showed the time to be 10:15 PM. I asked IF I could cancel the repairs, he informed me that the repairs were started and could not terminate. Long discussions followed and I happened to see another notice on my PC showed that the work started was 10:43. I'm an old fart and needed my sleep so I authorized the repairs, giving my bank info so that they could charge it to the bank.

The following morning I realized that I'd been had and went to the bank and put a do not pay order in the system. I called McAfee and somehow got connected the same agent, I asked him if it were possible to get a refund == His exact words were "IF you ever call me again I'll submit another payment request from your bank." They had somehow made a check that was ALMOST like the ones that I use. As he got payment on one I guess he figured that he had hit a Gold mine.

The bank issued me a refund, so I'm not out of any money, but it still burns my rear to know how easy it is for these crooks to stick it to you. Well they both expired at the same time and I got popups galore as soon as I declined to renew it. It wasn't until I uninstalled McAfee that the pop ups that i had a virus stop. I reactivated Windows Defender, ran a scan and both computers are fine. McAfee tricks people into thinking they have computer issues when they don't. They are the virus.

It loaded up so much stuff and gobbled up resources to point where pages wouldn't load or they would take several minutes. My CPU was working overtime.... I removed the software and it's much better. I'll take my chances. If something bad happens I'll load it back up, do my scans and then get rid of it again.

Then, they told me that they had the answer to the problem and that I was correct in that I had a few viruses BUT I needed to pay $200. After arguing for a while they lowered the price more and more to $125.

When they saw I wasn't going to pay it, they will repeat over and over again the reason why they needed to charge in order to even give you a clue of what the problem was. I hung up and called a few more times and ALWAYS a person from India will answer with THE SAME script and wanting to charge. I finally installed two other FREE virus protection programs and was able to solve my problem!!! McAfee USED to be a great company 10 years ago but now it stinks! Five years ago I had a similar problem with them so I thought they had improved by now but they are worse! Don't buy this program!!!

Upon installation the product would not scan and gave me an error message- I contacted customer support and they accessed my computer to try and resolve the issue. Hours later the product still did not work. The tech then told me he was elevating my case to tier 2 support and someone would contact me on Sunday. A tech called on Sunday and it was a repeat of Friday, hours later the product still didn't work and he was referring my case to a different team to resolve the issue and someone would call me back. No one called me back so I called McAfee on Monday and got the run around (the tech/ customer service reps were very respectful at all times-- they just repeated what previous techs stated--that my case was being worked on). I got fed up and requested a refund but couldn't get one since I purchase the product more than 30 days ago.

I called back a day or two later and asked for the complaint department. She took my info and transferred me to tech support who told my case was still being worked on and someone would call me. I don't understand that if the product has issue why they didn't offer a replacement. It has been seven day and the issue have not been resolved and no one has called or emailed me. I just gave up and purchased another antivirus from a different company, but I had to get this off my chest. Buyer beware.

I got a new laptop in December. I received a "pop-up" for a 1 year trial for McAfee security protection. I gave them my credit card number, got billed and felt I was "safer." I then got the infamous "ICE" computer block scam, which blocks your computer for use until you pay a 3-4 hundred dollar fee. I immediately went to our community computer room to find out if I could fix it. I was able to get rid of the block. However, on the website that explained how to get rid of the block also explained that you needed to have your computer scanned and have any viruses or malware found removed.

I first went online to try and chat with McAfee... 1.5 hours and still couldn't even get a "Chat Tech"... got frustrated and telephoned them... another hour of going from line to line, person to person and finally got a tech that explained that they can't stop all viruses (I get that)... but he would connect me with another tech to remotely scan my computer, and if they found the virus they would have to charge me 89.95 to remove it. I realize I got their entry level protection price, but this IS outrageous. I can run over to any computer repair shop and get it done cheaper.

The point is, their protection didn't work... so if there is a charge (and there should not be) it should be minimal. After dealing with a customer service lady (by the way, I don't have any idea what country I was talking to, but it wasn't in the US... everyone had a major accent and two reps were not even understandable... I believe it was might have been India) she then (Customer service lady) said she would now give me the supervisor since I was so upset. I told her that it most likely wouldn't help, but she insisted and THEN told me to hold for 1-10 minutes... AGAIN! Believe it or not I waited and THEN WAS DISCONNECTED. I will take my computer and have it scanned and have the virus/viruses removed. I will sign up for another service.... McAfee has the absolute worst I have ever experienced... I'll just go back to AVG.

This practice of forcing McAfee, or any program, on consumers when accepting updates for other programs should be stopped immediately. As well, making an uninvited program difficult to uninstall seems closer to breaching one's security than guarding one's security.

Rather than bring it to a shop where I could have had face to face customer service, I took the 'convenient option' of purchasing McAfee's online virus removal package - priced at $103 incl tax. I then proceeded to spend 4 hours on hold, waiting to be dealt with. The only reason I could do this was because I was home sick from work. (How so McAfee expect working individuals to spend this sort of time on hold?)

When I was finally connected with a technician, he remotely accessed my computer and after 30 mins informed me it was clean. Problem solved. Except when I rebooted my comp, the problem had not been solved completely and my computer was still showing signs of virus. I proceeded to fill out the evaluation McAfee sent me explaining my ongoing issues. I received a response from them asking me to state a time that would be convenient to call to resolve these issues. Despite the fact that I responded with a specific time, I proceeded to receive a call at 5 am the next morning. Needless to say I did not answer. I emailed on 5 further occasions requesting follow up and heard nothing back.

Today I called and for the last 3 hours I have been passed through 4 different operators, have stayed on hold, have explained and reexplained my situation and just now I have hung up. I cannot take it anymore. For a company to provide this sort of incompetent and shocking service in 2014 is an absolute joke. I would advise everyone to avoid this service at all costs.

I was desperate at this point and, although they said it was my "fault for clicking on something you weren't supposed to" and their virus software couldn't protect against that (I've been using computers since the 1980's and haven't clicked on anything before so I'm pretty sure this wasn't accurate information) I agreed to pay for help and was transferred to the next step up.

It turns out that I missed the fine print that stated I had to turn on the "auto renew" feature of my software subscription for the first 10 months of my year subscription to my software. This of course means that I would have to give them a credit card to have on file so I could be charged automatically when my year was over, (Which means they are betting on that I would forget to turn off the auto-renew feature after the first 10 months at which time I would keep being charged every year). Please bear in mind that I have already paid for this software and should be able to receive a rebate on my current purchase, not have to rely on future purchases to collect my rebate. These rebate submission rules are very unethical and definitely fall into the category of "bait and switch".

I recently purchased a new computer, actually I received it beginning of August 2014 to be more precise. My new computer has Windows 8.1, touchscreen, 4th gen core i7 processor, 8GB of ram and lots of other goodies. Frankly, hacking in to an alien spaceship from my living room shouldn't slow this bad boy down. Last night I was sitting around playing a game and all of a sudden my computer just froze up, wouldn't load any web pages, all the programs and apps were very slow at loading. So, I checked the task manager and it showed that McAfee was taxing out my processor, using 99.5% of it all by itself. Then of course I couldn't get the program to open so I could stop the scan which technically means that during that time McAfee basically hijacked my computer. As soon as the scan was complete I uninstalled McAfee in the middle of a trial period and installed Vipre. I've used it before and never had a problem with the program or my computer while using it. Completely ridiculous that a virus scan program which is supposed to run in the background would tax out the fastest, best processor available in a laptop, ridiculous. I will never allow McAfee to exist on another computer I own again.

I bought the $70.00 McAfee anti-virus program and my husband and I attempted to download it on our computer last week. We had problems from the very beginning. Got error message saying it could not download. We called the support number and got a technician in India. He basically talked us into giving him control of the computer which we did. BIG MISTAKE. He eventually told us it would cost us $159.00 to fix all the problems. He avoided answering a lot of our questions about payment and costs and would just keep repeating that they could totally repair our computer and make it like brand new.

We finally got aggravated enough and said NO THANK YOU and hung up. Even though we previously had no problems with our computer, we did take it to a local computer service to have it scrubbed to be sure. We then bought a Norton anti-virus program. The Norton technician was VERY HELPFUL (also US based) and we were set up with no problems. IN SHORT - I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MCAFEE TO ANYONE.

Then I read all the complaints about the company's unauthorized charges, problems with rebates, etc. Now I am very concerned that I made the wrong choice in selecting McAfee. I am sending in my rebate slip and UPC, as directed. I hope I can up my starts from Dissatisfied, instead of downing them to Angry. Only McAfee can determine that.

Please wake up. It is very obvious that the complainers on this topic know very little about business or pretend to be ignorant. Same comment goes for attitude towards computer IT in general. NOBODY RIDES FOR FREE! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH! Computers were imaginary for normal people when I was young. Then when the prices of useless computers came down to the same as a new car, people started buying them only to find out that software cost a minimum of $400.00 per worthwhile program and still required you to hire a professional to set them up unless you had both time and the capacity to do it yourself. Stop acting like you are entitled to everything for free because you purchased a computer for under $1000.00 and pay an Internet provider $14.95 per month. The world does not owe you a living.

I strongly believe that we as a people need to find a way to solicit our respective governments to require that each company who moves support to some third world country must have oversight in place. All too often the people in other countries are poor and desperate and when they get a job for a few dollars a year with a company that promised to deliver some service to a major software or hardware vendor based in the U.S. or similar countries, they signed up for a deal that allows them to make reasonable money only if they engage in some upselling during so called support calls. This is now the way of the world and we need to stop it. However, using illogical arguments that make you appear ignorant is not a good way to be a part of positive change.

Please become educated prior to voicing complaints. Identify the areas that are actually defective and go after those. Do not whine and claim yourself to be some type of expert and voice opinions that make you look like a child in school telling mommy that you made a bad trade for your jelly sandwich at school because all you got was a bag of nuts. If you want to call yourself a business owner because you purchased a used computer and used it to access a business checking account over the Internet and don't have the funds or intelligence to know that you do not have enough knowledge to protect your own interests and should hire the services of a properly educated person to help you set up the fundamental business behaviors you should and should not engage in... then don't prove it further by getting involved with every link in an email that promises to replace a software engineer with a free online/remote assessment of your computer.

You are asking for trouble then showing that you don't know what to do and that you gravitate toward trying to beat the system then complain when the system proves that it can beat you back. Get smart or purchase the services of someone who is educated in the field that you are not. Waaaa Waaaa Waaaa is not a good way to force proper change.

In March of 2014, I started to prepare my mother's 2013 tax return. I wanted to get her every penny back that she deserves. I noticed that there was some verbiage on a few of her transactions that I wasn't familiar with, I marked them, and agreed to come back to them at a later date. About two weeks later, I had remembered it and did that.. I returned to investigate it.. The verbiage said "PayPal Trans Check." There were about 4 of them for $79.99 each. I went online and googled Paypal Trans Check and found out that they were charges for McAfee virus. There were four of them in just under a year. This caught me by surprise. Number one, that my mother would even use a crappy program like McAfee, and Number two, the frequency of them.

I then looked deeper into her Paypal account and found that there was a definite pattern of these transactions, which she did not authorize, nor were there any verbiage on any of the 15 invoices that I had printed out about annual renewal or autopay. The dates were consistent in the years with the payments made, buy not the amounts. It showed that they were "Instant Transfers" but Mom did not authorize them. All 15 transfers which occurred between 2009 and 2013 (four years) were for McAfee Virus Suites priced at "Full Market Value". They also ranged in price from $39.99 to $149.99. She paid over $1000. Over four years for these programs which supposedly uploaded or downloaded to her. She never received anything in the mail from them stating that they would be put on auto renewal annually. Nothing is stated on any of the online bills about auto renewal. What does this tell me? McAfee are all bunch of crooks and are all about FRAUD!!!

Last night I was in deep thought... The above referenced only affects her PayPal online account... What about her checking account or regular credit card accounts? I pulled two months of her checking accounts.. and lo and behold... There are two more McAfee charges for the same viral software.. And once again, these charges were not for tangible items.. She never received a DVD or computer disc, or any kind of packaging or letters from McAfee, just these charges where the software was either uploaded or downloaded to her computer from online. Purchases were as follows: 2009 - 2 charges totaling 200.00; 2010 - 3 charges totaling 190.00; 2011 - 4 charges totaling $260.00; 2012 - 4 charges totaling $140.00; 2013 - 1 charge $80; 2014 - 1 charge $80..

I also went on McAfee's website last night, and found that all PayPal purchasers were really getting screwed. The software that my mom did not order, and was never put on her computer via download or upload was at FULL RETAIL.. Whereas on McAfee's website it was discounted nearly half the price. My mom's PayPal account was charged $79.99 and on McAfee's website, it was $55.00, a savings of 30%. You can find it at Office Superstores for $49.99 for the same. A little bit about why I am so livid..

Mom is 72, she is a widow, on a limited income, and lives alone. Why would she even think to research her charges on her accounts? After all, she purchased them online by PayPal and by McAfee Virus. If you google the words Fraud and McAfee together, you will be amazed to see what you will find. She ended up donating a couple of Virus Full Computers to Goodwill because she thought that they were protected from Viruses when in fact, they were not current in there software which I found out this morning upon calling tech support there. It was easy.. I gave the guy from India on the phone two pieces of information. He looked up her computer and then asked me if we had a certain McAfee software package. I told him NO, that all of her purchases have been online. He then apologized and asked me again, did we ever get anything in the mail or any DVDs with the program on in the mail from McAfee... Once again I told him not to my knowledge have we ever received anything from McAfee. I then went to share with him about all the Fraud that has been going on. He literally told me that the computer has not been upgraded nor did it have any McAfee viral ware on it that was active.

Now, this takes me to my original thought and complaint that I have pending with PayPal right now. What are all of these unauthorized transactions doing in my mother's account...? Nobody has hacked into her system. Furthermore, who authorized all of these transactions to be reoccurring?? It certainly was not her.. Perhaps someone hacked into their system. My mother as we speak is recovering from another major surgery. She sometimes spends more time in the hospital than at home.. That really leaves me no option. Tomorrow, I am going to go over her entire PayPal transaction history, all of the logs, etc. to make sure that she is ok. And possibly at that point, shut down her PayPal account that either McAfee has hacked or some third party computer guy. The money that she has spent is well over $1000.00. I will want this to be paid in full immediately. I forwarded them all the documentation and opened up a claim on May 6, 2014. I originally called it in to them on April 16th when I saw the charge on her checking account when I was logged in to it. They did give a credit for two of the months because that is all I knew about.

It wasn't until May 3rd that I launched my full investigation. I would also like to see McAfee restore unto her a new laptop and a new desktop for the ones that she donated because there was no viral protection on them, or it was so far outdated. McAfee is a giant out there I wonder.. and I think that they know what's going on.. Its all about the dollar. They have been sued in many class act lawsuits, a lot of fraud also. Would you trust your computer to a company like this? HELL NO!!! When I had called tech support this morning, I'm sure the Indian guy on the other end of the line knew how many different recurring payments had been unauthorized by her.. FLAG FLAG FLAG....

In their databases, they should do something to prevent this... Or maybe they are just thieves bowing down to the mighty dollar. Now mind you all once again.. The above referenced only affects her Online Paypal account and McAfee. Last night after seeing two additional charges on her BANK OF AMERICA statement... I am livid... How could they do this to a poor senior citizen, a grandmother, who is very ill right now. Not only that.. but... who else are they doing it to or have they done it to? Is it you? Your Mother, Father, Brother or Sister?? Please let me know.. My email address is **. Let's get this word out so that there are no more victims.

"Well, we have 1 time fix." I took it for $79. Cheaper than taking it somewhere else.

Now they are saying next week, my McAfee is up & I have to renew. They said, "Well, maybe you have 2 McAfees running at the same time. We'll have to get into your computer to uninstall it." I said, "OMG, there's no way you are getting a hold of it again." I sent them the original receipt for the yr. that I paid for. I said, "You're running a scam & I'm reporting you." There is a charge for $199 on my MasterCard. They were suppose to take it off. I've called & called & nothing happens. RUN, RUN, RUN FROM MCAFEE. DON'T DOWNLOAD THEM EVER...

McAfee has been conducting illegal intrusions into my computer and from the sounds of it, I am not alone. I did not invite McAfee onto my computer, but somehow it appeared whether through a 3rd party, I am not sure. What the problem is McAfee has invaded my programs, caused some programs to stop working, and has denied me access to some of their files when I have tried to delete them though the command lines. The uninstall program doesn't have any effect on their programs. THEIR PROGRAMS WILL NOT UNINSTALL. They have installed "unremovable" programs of their own and keep telling me how my computer is at risk, pressuring me to buy their program to safeguard my computer.

To me this is hacking and bribery, both of which are illegal. It seems like it is time for a class action lawsuit against McAfee. They apparently think they are above the law, perhaps because they are so large of a company. However, they are breaking the laws, by demanding that I buy their software, while holding me hostage by refusing me to remove their programs that wreck havoc on my computer. What would it take to start a class action lawsuit against a company of this size? And how many complainants have felt as frustrated as I am? What can be done?

I have gathered that McAfee had started having problems around 2011 to current. I have read this is when they started allowing other companies to sell their product so that they can pawn their refunds off on others and not take responsibility when there are problems. If that isn't a pathetic way of doing business I don't know what is?

I asked them to take responsibility for their product malfunctioning regardless of who sold it to me, because this is the number I am given to call if I should have an issue. Ok, I purchased McAfee Total Protection but it would not load online backup. On August 24, 25 and 26, I contacted their support - was elevated to Level 2, but they couldn't fix it. They called on successive days after that - to take control of my computer to try to fix it - all with no success. Since September 1, I have received no further contact although I responded to the technicians via email. This afternoon I contacted them again to find out why they had not responded. I was told they "would fix my computer".

So five hours later and it is not fixed. I went back to their support page and asked why they could not fix it. I was told they were "researching it and it would take another three days to respond". So August 24 through today is 17 days, three more is 20. I asked for a refund so I could purchase a product that worked and was told since I purchased McAfee through Office Depot, they could not provide a refund. It's NOT OFFICE DEPOT'S SOFTWARE, IT'S McAFEE'S JUNK! PATHETIC!

I bought a computer from HP 2 years ago. I installed Webroot antivirus as I've had good success over the years with them. I never activated the McAfee on the computer nor gave them a credit card number. I missed the recurring charge last year, but this year tried to contest it. The McAfee support said I needed to give them my e-mail address to find my account. I gave them all of my e-mail accounts and none of them were registered (meaning I had never registered in the first place). The support person said they couldn't drop the charge nor change the account since I couldn't verify who I was through the e-mail verification process. Nice Catch-22 huh! The annual charge is $85.39. I called my bank and had to cancel the credit card to prevent them from continuing to charge the card. This has been a significant ordeal. You might ask where they did get my credit card number. The only way was through HP when I bought the computer. The fraud unit from the bank was aware that they did this. I would highly recommend that you not use McAfee as you'll be charged ad infinitum. You would think someone with a name recognition of McAfee would have more integrity than this. I will never use McAfee and would strongly recommend you do the same.

This year, they almost caused my account to go over the limit and a domino effect on all other transactions. I cannot get this company to stop charging my credit card when I only used it for a one time purchase there. I also ended the account. Well, I thought I had ended the account over three years ago! People, be careful and do not use a company online for your antivirus. It is best to go buy the disk set at a supplier of your choice. If you use McAfee and end up not being happy with them, watch out for your bank/credit cards to keep being billed even if you chose not to auto-renew and cancel their services accordingly. I hope this helps people!

I've been a McAfee customer for some years. About a month ago, the QuickClean function became very, very slow. Where it took seconds before, it now took an hour to complete 86% of QuickClean. I called the McAfee tech help phone line. When the first "technician" finally answered, I explained the problem to him. He asked for, and I granted, access to the keyboard and mouse. In the end, he told me it was a Microsoft problem, and would I give him permission to set Win8 back to default. Now you have to understand that I'm 72 years old, and not a tech whiz. So I said yes. What I ended up with was a completely different Win home page, and the same problem with QuickClean.

So I called back. This time I got a lady "tech". She also asked for permission to access the keyboard and mouse. She concluded that we needed to uninstall and then re-install the McAfee software, which we did. And it worked, QuickClean was quick again. But I was still unhappy with my altered Win homepage. I began to have my doubts about both McAfee compatibility with Win8, and McAfee service. No one ever bothered to check back to see whether the problem had been resolved, and to think that I was really excited when Intel bought up McAfee. Aha, I thought, this will up the game to a different level. I couldn't have been more wrong. Then, on 6/17/2013, McAfee ran the usual scan of my system... until it got to 99% complete, and stopped there. It was at this moment that I decided to uninstall McAfee software from my computer, and install a higher-rated protection program especially designed for Win8. I'm very disappointed in McAfee, and will not sign with them again.

It has been another month, and I have not received a refund. I called again. I spoke with a manager in customer service and was again given another case number. This manager also gave a release number to give to the bank. When the bank was notified, they responded by saying, “Only the business merchant can call...not a customer.” In the meantime, I have been debited $109.79 and have nothing to show for it. McAfee is no help at all. I still do not understand how they can remove money from the bank without authorization.

I've been a McAfee subscriber for many, many years - my mistake. Like some on this site, I have experienced their habit of auto-renewal, which I didn't like, but because I was going to use them anyway, I went with it. However, last renewal, I stupidly signed up for a 3-year subscription with the Total Protection package, which was not auto-renewed, but through McAfee's customer support line. I was a little confused afterwards when I got my credit card statement and there was a currency conversion fee associated with the transaction. I was pretty sure McAfee was a California company, but this was transacted in Canada somehow. Oh well, Little did I know until last Thursday that McAfee uses a subordinate company to handle its fulfillment on the Internet orders of its software and this insulates them from having to issue refunds after the initial 30-day period.

I had a major problem with my Toshiba laptop that was directly related to my McAfee installation. A Trojan virus had downloaded, but had not been detected. I also had other malware that was slowing the processing down (something called Software Manager) that came along with a freeware PDF reader and the combination stopped normal usage. Before I figured out that I could come up in Safe Mode with Networking, I was seeing an error message that indicated there were security files missing so I realized it might be a problem with McAfee.

Once I came up in Safe Mode, I looked at the Event Log and saw the only real errors were related to McAfee and that it had not been able to do the updates for two or three days. Just to be thorough, I did clean out the temp files and I removed some other junk. I contacted McAfee technical support and asked them to uninstall and reinstall the software, thinking that would clear up the problem. When the tech uninstalled McAfee, my laptop ran perfectly - no problems at all. He did a couple things while it was uninstalled and then he started up the re-installation process. Rather than stay on the line with me to make sure everything was okay after it came back up, he told me what to do and to restart after it finished and it would be okay after that. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

I called back in to technical support and started another two-hour call with another Tech Support guy. This was a little better - he at least saw that I had the process eating up a lot of my resources and that was probably keeping the McAfee software from running properly. He said he wanted a senior analyst to look at it and he'd have someone call me back. While I was waiting for that call, I tried running a full scan, which detected a virus at the 40% completed mark. When it got to 51% completed, the scan stopped because the system hung up and I had to reboot. Because the scan got interrupted, the virus that was detected was never fixed or quarantined.

When the McAfee senior analyst called me back, I told her what happened and she decided it was best to turn it over to the virus removal group. She gave me a code that comped the session so I didn't have to pay the fee, but it didn't matter. The virus technician could not find the virus and I'm not sure how good he was. He didn't seem to listen to what I was telling him - I could only come up in Safe Mode with Networking and I'd told him that, but every time I came up, he made me reboot again and redo what I'd already done because I had typed ahead of him and he didn't understand I already knew where he was going. When he finally said he couldn't find the virus and there wasn't one, I asked why the scan indicated one was there then. He got annoyed with me and told me to contact Toshiba because the problem was clearly with my laptop.

I gave up because he wasn't going to do anymore and I let him dump me back on Technical Support. By now I had been dealing with the problem with McAfee for 12 hours and I was pretty exhausted. I asked the last TSR if I could get a refund on the balance of my subscription given that the software failed to detect the virus that was on my system, the virus group could not or would not find and remove it, and I was going to have to uninstall McAfee and install some other program to clean up my system. The TSR assured me that I could get a refund and he could do it right then. I said no, I would call back in after cleaning up my system myself.

I did uninstall McAfee. I downloaded free antivirus software, detected a Trojan virus and quarantined it; I updated Windows Defender and turned it on, and I cleaned up my registry and start-up files to get rid of some files that were slowing down my system. As of now, my laptop has been running better than it has in a couple years. In two days, I got more warnings about potential threats than I got in two years with McAfee. It took a couple of days for me to gather enough strength to call McAfee to deal with them about getting the refund on my subscription - I mean, how much of a runaround can you take in one week?

I called Thursday evening and that's when the main customer service group was more than happy under the circumstances to refund the balance of my subscription, which has 19 months left on it. However, when they checked on how I paid for my subscription, they saw that I purchased it through something called "Market Link" and I had to go through them to get my refund. Huh? I explained that I ordered my subscription through McAfee customer service so what was the difference and they said I had to contact Market Link and they gave me the phone number. I called that number and it answered as McAfee Customer Service - okay, that sounds like McAfee to me, right?

I guess they were gone for the evening by the time I called - there was no way to know because the phone message indicated that they were either busy with customer calls or had closed for the day - leave a message and they'll call back, which they never did. Real nice! I called the next morning and got the ultimate runaround. When I said I was told I could get a refund for the balance of my subscription, I was told that they are only authorized by McAfee to issue refunds under the terms of the service contract, which states no refunds after 30 days. And then the woman insisted that I had agreed to the terms of service. When I pointed out that McAfee was not honoring their side of the service agreement by providing me with software that detected viruses and that I had to use someone else's software to fix the mess McAfee software had created on my equipment, I felt that they owed me a refund and they agreed. I asked who I could go to at McAfee to get approval for the refund and she kept parroting the same line about the 30-day refund policy and how I agreed to it in the service contract.

Somehow, I think this is McAfee's way of screwing their customers - one side freely says, "Yes, you can have your money back," but since they know you didn't buy the software through them, they have immunity from having to refund the money to you. I call that stealing - theft of service at its worst. I feel very sorry for a business that has to retain customers that way and very angry. I also feel very badly for customers who don't know better and who end up believing these so-called technical support people who tell them the problems are with their machines when it's clearly with the software. If I had not had the ability to fix my own problems, I'd have been in that boat too. Shame on McAfee!

I like McAfee as far as antivirus software goes. However, I made it a point to update my profile with a setting for auto-renewal off. Still my renewal went through automatically without my consent. On my first of purchase McAfee product, the same thing happened. That time I was not aware that I had a personal profile that I could edit. So, I'm guessing the initial install sets that auto-renewal to on. I had no idea, and if I'm right, it's a bad practice.

However, I did not race home and hook it up because I had a McAfee Security 2012 on my laptop which was to expire on 02/01/13. Being in no particular hurry, I discarded the bag and placed the software on my desk until a few days before the old program was to expire. I got to the registration page which asked for a 25-digit number (I clicked the info button to find out exactly what number was needed); it was the UPC number which was only 24 numbers and letters, so the registration would not function.

I emailed McAfee and explained the problem. I got an email back 3 days later which informed me that all McAfee Security products had 25 digits and that I must have purchased a "knock off" brand from an unauthorized source. I called my local Sam's Club and informed them of what McAfee Security had told me. I was basically told by the manager of the Sam's Club that this was not true that Sam's Club would not jeopardize the Sam's Club name over a lot of illegal or knock off software. I emailed that info to McAfee.

Then, I was told that I must fax a copy of the bill of sale/receipt to McAfee and to put all the reference numbers on the fax. I called Sam's Club and told them that I lost my receipt but charged the purchase on a Sam's Club card, if they would have a printable record, to which they replied to the affirmative. So, off to Sam's I went. I put all the reference numbers on the receipt and faxed it. Nothing for a week occurred - no emails from McAfee. I again emailed McAfee. I received an answer that it would take another day or two to research my fax and they would get back to me. Another week elapsed - no emails from McAfee.

I emailed them again and was told to re-fax the information again. That was when I exploded and the name calling and insults began. I filed a complaint with the BBB of Santa Clara, CA even though I am certain that the help center to which I was constantly emailing was in India or Malaysia. I emailed McAfee one more time to see if I could email the UPC symbol numbers which were on my package to them and let them research if these numbers were indeed registered to McAfee. The response that I received back was no, I must refax the proof of purchase.

Incompetency reins at McAfee. I am not wasting my time yo-yoing emails and faxes any longer. Now, I am complaining openly that all I want is to be able to use the product which I bought and paid for.

When I asked him why, he told me first I had a virus. This is why I got McAfee so as not to get a virus in the first place. He then told me my computer would not work again unless I paid him. He then downloaded something else and the computer went off and now every time I turn it on, it crashes. Firstly, I paid good money for the so-called Anti-virus that does not work. So what did I pay for next? What did he put on my computer to stop it working? Before I rang him, all I was getting were warnings. Now, it won’t work at all because I refused to pay him. Is this the way McAfee works? Is it? I will be taking the computer to the shop tomorrow to try and get it fixed but I will be passing on my experience of your so-called support staff to my friends and family.
