Hope you like expensive lemonade, because all J.D. Byrider has is a bunch of lemons. They suck you in to think you're getting a great deal on a used car but they leave out the underlined details. The vehicle they placed me in has had problems since week one. Everytime I take it to their mechanic they just repair the surface. Example I got an SUV, the hatchback wouldn't open, took it to JD Byrider, they finally figured out what was wrong, fixed it, I got the vehicle back, one of the mechanics broke the door handle on the driver's side, they did not bother to fix it. After a week the hatchback stopped working again. I also went to have the oil changed and found out the power steering fluid is leaking. When I reported that to them they said that it will be my responsibility to get fix it.
So now I have a sub that I can't afford to repair and I have a high interest rate to where I can't even look to trade in. I have only had one issue with the financing, I had switched jobs and my paydays were set up different. When I explained that to one person they said that was fine and will work with me but then when I did go to pay I was told I was 7 days late on my payment and will need to make two payments in order to keep my vehicle or they will come and take the vehicle away. When I tried to explain the job switching situation again I was told I should begged and borrowed money from family. I did come up with the extra payment. Just not happy with my experience with JD Byrider.

I recently bought a 2004 Nissan Maxima. I told them I could only afford $300.00/month. The salesman got the approval and a short time later the finance specialist came out and confirmed the deal, except that I would have to pay a 1200 deferred downpayment. I agreed and they sent me over to another room where a third person went over the contract and payment schedule. During this time (he) said I would have to pay bi-weekly and that the payments would reduce once the down was paid. At (no) point did he inform me of a change in the agreed upon monthly payment, and he did a GREAAAT job of distracting me from looking at the schedule... I purchased the car on under the pretense that it has a clean title, no accidents, had a 92 point inspection, vehicle was conditioned for and had a warranty.
I found out three days later that it had been in a severe rear end accident and was pushed into another car. The value of the car in excellent condition is 7200 poor condition which this one was is, is 2100. Ultimately I came back in and confronted these scam artists and demanded they reduce value of the car to the actual value, reduce my payments, let me out of loan or I would file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency of Idaho. At first it was a no on everything. Then they realized I was video recording them and they let me out of deal. The moral of the story is had I done a simple google search of this business I could have had all the information to scare the DEVIL out of me/you... Don't buy from these con artists!!!

Warranty repairs for the exact same issue multiple times. After a year of failed repairs the warranty expires. Now to do the repairs they are asking me to pay for it. Repair a windshield rear wiper assembly on this van. Stop working properly. Had it reinstalled. Problem resurfaced. They tried to replace that new part with a salvage yard part. I'm done. This car dealership and repair shop are not worthy of consumer trust. Shady.

My husband and I purchased a car from here in August 2017. In September the car started going and that J.D. Byrider package they sell you don't go for anything that is wrong with the car. You still have to spend money getting it fixed. They sell a bunch of lemons. My car value was worth only $550 on KBB and they sold it to us for $8000 saying how good the piece of ** was. Not to mention it has been in two bad front end accidents. Let's shut all of them down across the state.

I am a former customer and it was a horrible experience. Back in 2014 I finally got a good job after years of low paying jobs while I was attending college. As soon as I got the job a month in my car started overheating and the repair was more than the car was worth so I needed to purchase a car ASAP. I didn't have much of a down payment and my credit was so-so. I decided hey I will go to JD. At there cars come with warranties and it will build my credit. I had a car note. All my previous cars I got from buy here pay here and for what it's worth you would be better off going than that route than dealing with this company.
I ended up getting a 2006 Chevy Cobalt remember this is 2014 and I had to pay $199 every 2 weeks for a 2006! I paid because hey I wanted to build my credit. The issues started about 3 months after having the car. I had to have a repair done it was minor paid the warranty deductible no issues I wasn't too mad. The issues with the car then became more and more frequent. Almost every two months the car was needed to be repaired and between the deductible and paying a car note it was getting out of hand. The last straw was when in May of 2016 the car need wheel bearing not covered, under warranty the check engine light was on and that issue wasn't covered under warranty either as I needed the car fixed in order to get to work and get my license plate sticker cause it was my birthday month. I spent over $400 which had my budget all messed up for the month.
My payment was due the day I got the car out of their service department and I told them I would have to catch up on my note on my next pay. They decided to repo the car a day before I communicated with them I would pay took it right from my job. No other car company repossess a car when you've technically missed one payment. The car was a headache and way overpriced. I only decided to write a review to help someone not make the mistake I did. I ended up filing bankruptcy because I wasn't giving them another penny on a car I had already paid off twice. I now have a 2015 car and I'm paying the same amount I was for a car that was 7 years old when I bought it and had almost 90,000 miles. Don't take a chance on them.

I purchased my vehicle from their franchise located at 2886 S. Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43232 in February 2012. Whenever I took my car in for service I would buy the dealership donuts and brew them some coffee. I had to have my engine replaced and they marked up the price of my engine, kept the core return refund and doubled the price of the tow bill. After they did this I went through my service records and found that they'd marked up the part prices repeatedly and even charged me $97.95 for a battery that was actually a Core Return Battery from someone else's vehicle but they forgot and left the AutoZone Core Return Sticker on it.
I reached out to their Corporate Office and they did Nothing to help. I called the franchise where I purchased it and they did nothing to correct this. I went into the franchise and asked the manager for his full name and he refused to give me his last name or even his business card. I have since had problems with my vehicle and discovered that JD BYRIDER put the Wrong Part on my vehicle when they replaced a wheel bearing and over time it caused significant damage to my car and also jeopardized the Safety of my Family.

Ok so I live in Houston Texas and a few months ago purchased a car from JD Byrider 7990 Bellfort location. Everything was ok at first until ** the finance manager started to take it upon herself to charge my card without my permission for my car note when she could not reach me by phone. I do not have auto pay set up not have I ever authorized future pay or any of the such thing. My card is only on file because they kept it on file but since then they have charged me 3 different times without my consent.
When I call in to question her she swears she has spoken to "someone" who gave her permission but when I ask to hear the phone call because all calls are recorded, I’m told they don’t have access to the calls. When I ask to speak with a manager, I’m always told “the manager isn’t here right now” or “they are all in a meeting.” The 2nd time they did this was 1 day before Christmas and this last time was yesterday on 2/2/18 which is rent day so now I don’t have the money to pay my rent because ** took my money from my card. Yesterday when confronted over the phone she stated “oh I can just PUT IT BACK”, meaning she knows she was wrong and had no right. I am going forward with legal action and I am also going forth publicly to let everyone know the fraud that is taking place at this business!

I've been a customer with them since 2014. I had a Jeep Cherokee Laredo. I missed one month payment in October sent an email to them that I would pay them for October and November with November's payment instead they came and picked up my vehicle at 1 in the morning and demanded for me to pay $1,181.56 when my payment is 379 a month. Then what was more crazy that I've been paying for this vehicle nonstop for 3 years and whoops I miss one payment and they repoed my car and then had the nerve to tell me that I had to make that payment. Well that's how they make their money huh. I am pissed off and how I work so hard for three years I'm making a payment on a vehicle that all I owed was $2,100 left on it and this is what happens and then they want more than what I owe left on it. I have reported this dealership already to numerous complaints.
I don't recommend J.D. Byrider to nobody. It's a horrible dealership horrible people and not including my vehicle had gave me so much issues since the first week I purchased the vehicle and it was a headache to go through having to get a rental non-stop for a couple months paying it out of my pocket because their vehicle was not reliable and I had no other choice but to swallow and stay stuck with it and now they have some nerve to take my vehicle for just one month payment that I missed. Not even other dealerships like Toyota or Honda that I have reported them to said to me that was awful and that they sound like they just scheming off of people and that I was just sold a lemon because they over charged me 17,000 on a 2004 car. Never again or I deal with J.D. Byrider and if you're customer who is still dealing with these people I wish you the best of luck but they don't deserve a penny from nobody. They don't even deserve to be opened.

My fiance and I both have poor credit, but we needed a vehicle. We had heard about JD Byrider having a $0 down sale. We picked out a 2005 Chevy Malibu. We were so happy to be getting a car, we didn't think to compare KBB and sale price. We purchased the vehicle in 2016, with payments of $184 every for 4 years. We signed all the contract paperwork, but we're stupid not to really pay attention. Now, in 2018, it finally clicked. We could have gotten a brand new car for what we are paying for this used car. KBB lists the value of our car at between $2000 to $3000. Somehow, I doubt it would have been much higher in 2016. Yet, looking at our contract, I now see that they listed the purchase price at $12,895. That is actual purchase price, before adding all the interest.
That is 4x the higher value based on KBB. And we are now stuck into this contract until 6/4/2020, paying $184 every 2 weeks. And if we are late with even one payment, they will repossess the car and we are out all the money we've already paid AND the car. So I say this... Don't be naive or stupid. Be prepared to walk away no matter how desperate you are. And check the purchase price of used vehicles to KBB or fair market values. I feel like they saw us coming a mile away and took full advantage of our desperation. We can't afford to be without a car due to my fiance's work and my many doctor appointments, and we don't want to screw up our credit even worse, or we would let them repossess it and look elsewhere. And there is no way we can trade it in at any other dealership for a different vehicle because the pay off cost is way too high that no bank or dealership is going to be willing to pay the pay off amount we still owe.

The transmission when twice the rack and pinion on the front end when, not only was the car awful but the customer service was the worst. They make you think everything is great until you buy and you soon find out nothing but con artists, prior to buying this car from them I bought a Honda at a buy here pay here. Got it paid off in one year and the car is still holding strong, my husband car when and he took the Honda and I got the junk from JD Byrider. They called me a few days ago trying to sell me another car. I blocked their number never again. Over the four years I have only put six thousand miles on this car so that clearly shows this was a junk from day one and they knew it.

I then called back 7 times over the period of 2 months to get it fixed. I was able to make my payments because I was paying in advance. But the last time I couldnt. I ended calling back 4 times in 1 day. They stated they'd send me the contract in 5 days. I refused and asked to speak to a manager. He promised me a contract in 30 mins. I waited 4 hours then called back. Had the contract sent to me. Then it had the incorrect dates again. I called and spoke to the manager again. She swore she was looking at it and it was correct. I had to email her a screenshot of the contract to prove it was incorrect. Then finally had it fixed. This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had.

First off, when I first called to make sure they actually go by your income to make sure you don't fail payments is A COMPLETE LIE. I drove an hour for them to tell me that they could not work with my income therefore I had to get a cosigner. Second, they told me that my payments were gonna be much more even with a cosigner with great credit and only gave me a choice between 3 cars. Third, the book value of the car is around 3,500 for a year 2005, I'll be paying 18,000 when finished paying. Fourth, it's so convenient that the so called warranty won't fix the problems I noticed while driving it home (they knew what needed to be fixed).
And final that totally pissed me off, I called to try and work out my budget this for month as I am only having a rough patch until next month when my raise comes in and I totally understand they couldn't change the due date until the next day. But she was totally rude and talking over my voice and not listening. I then called back to ask if they could at least change the $39 insurance to be taken out the next day as it's not in my contract-- she totally got loud and rude with me saying I couldn't afford it and I'm not budgeting right, yelling over my voice as I was trying to explain things and then hung up on me as I got loud back. She is rude and has no type of customer service skills whatsoever. Don't go to Port Richey JD Byrider. They don't care about you. They just want to make money off of people trying to get by.

My car is now getting ready to go back in the shop now for the 11th time in one year for the same problem. They tell you it's fixed and it's not. My husband and I work swing shifts and it has become a nuisance finding time to drop it off and spend yet another week planning transportation. It was going back to the shop in Colerain once every month for the same problem for about 8 months until they admitted they couldn't fix it. Sent it to the one in Fairfield and now getting ready to go back for the 2nd time for the same problem (leaking and won't hold power steering fluid). I honestly feel like this company is a scam. They don't fix anything or try to find the root of the problem. Just bandage it up and pray the problem is solved. Straight crooks preying in the vulnerable.

I have had my car with this company for over a year. The repair side is a complete joke. They have gone through some many people and at one point I had to listen to the service girl complain about her life and health before I could schedule an appointment. They had my car on the lot at one point and didn't start the repairs (which were their fault) until days after and then told me it was ready for pickup without the repairs being started. I have overlooked a lot and continued to make my payments. This time is like the straw the broke the camel's back. I made a payment with Stephanie the finance manager over the phone. She told me the payment was not processing even though on my end and the screenshot I sent her showed otherwise. Stephanie however was not the problem as she was great as always. The was some glitch in the system so I had to call my bank and have the payment reversed to process it again.
The bank has not released the money in my acct as of yet but another payment rolled around and I made it without any questions asked. Here is the problem now. Their ''NEW" assistant general manager called me today and was very rude and abrasive. I had to ask her why she was yelling at me? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. She wouldn't let me finish talking (and I told her so over the phone). I told her several times I could just make the payment on another card but she was so busy being a right fighter she didn't listen.
I finally asked for someone/anyone else to speak with. She placed me on the phone with Khia who I made the payment with (my emergency fund) because she threatened me (the assistant general manager) several times that she had the repossession papers in hand and would pick my vehicle up. I asked her had she talked to Stephanie and did she know the background? I confirmed with Khia if she heard me on the speaker phone saying I would make the payment now and would just wait on my break and she confirmed she had. I asked for the general manager but of course he was off today as well as Stephanie. My payment was tech only 3 days late!!! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

I have never been so shaken in my life. I purchased a van from J.D. Byrider in August of 2017. By October the vehicle had started rattling and knocking. I was told to bring it in and it wouldn't even make it on the freeway to the dealership. It stopped leaving us stuck in the middle of the freeway having to push it to the nearest shoulder. I called them back and told them that it was completely stopped and they sent someone to pick up the vehicle (failing to mention that I had to pay the tow fee out of pocket until I picked it back up). I was told the next day that it was engine failure and I was put in a loaner (a small Pontiac G6 and I have 4 kids). I was told to pick up my vehicle after about 3 weeks. I spoke to two different people and no one told me about any fees until I came to pick up the vehicle. I was told that I had to pay the tow fee and a warranty deductible.
Since I didn't have it, I was told that I could keep the loaner until the next day and speak to Latisha and she would be able to help me with the fees. I wasted time talking to the woman because she was rude as ever and kept telling me what I had signed and telling me that I had to pick up my van by 5 pm and return the loaner or I would be charged $25 per day since my van was ready. I was furious at the non disclosed fees and told her how much I was upset and told them their business practices were poor. I hung up because I was over on my break at work. Not 10 minutes later I get a harassing call from a rude woman in service saying that since I wanted to refuse the fees, they were picking up the loaner and charging me $25 a day. I got into a heated conversation and told them I did not refuse the fees, and simply stated that it was unfair to me to pay fees that were not mentioned at such a short notice!
I ended up leaving work early losing money, borrowed the fee money and picked up my van. Once the van was started, it made a horrible screeching noise. I alerted the service dept and they were hesitant to come look at it... Their attitudes were horrible. They sent a man outside that sprinkled baby powder under the hood and sarcastically told us that baby powder works on engines and **. We left and sadly not 10 miles down the freeway from Warden Road we had a loud pop coming from the vehicle. We wondered why the person behind us was blowing and fishtailing signaling us to pull over... We started to lose speed causing the van to jerk violently and with another loud pop, we were engulfed in flames.
We struggled to get 4 kids, my 22 year old sister and my fiance out of the burning vehicle with the youngest 2 being trapped in 5 point harness car seats. I have never been so scared in my life and almost lost my whole family with the "fixed "vehicle exploding into flames! Oh and I am 5 months pregnant and had to be taken to the hospital after this ordeal because I was contracting and almost went into early labor! I lost so much in my vehicle and don't even have 1 car seat for my children and honestly I'm scared to put them back in a vehicle! Called them and they said it needed to be realigned, took it to them and they did just that realigned and changed my battery.
Now the part that I am actually upset about is the shaking has gotten worse even after they fixed the situation and I had a mechanic look at it. He told me the strut was leaking and it gets better. I also have an oil leak, transmission leak and oh yeah my radiator is bent. He told me the headlights are new and the reason is that the vehicle has been wrecked and there is even some crazy wiring from the headlights to the fuse box where it has obviously been by-passed. I specifically asked if the vehicle had been in any type of accident and I was assured that it hasn't been. So now I have to get all of this fixed and I feel like I was extremely misled. Not sure if they could make me happy at this point in any way. I do not feel safe in my own car.

Wow. I can't believe I have been making payments on time for 3 and a half years and the one time I fall short they tell me no. I was willing to make two payments on the next check but the finance manager told me no... Do they not understand things happen and sometimes you can't pay on time. I can't wait till I pay this car off so I can be stress free.

Salesmen were great. Got a car and it broke down within a week. Yes they fixed it even though it took 5 attempts but the other issues I had they tried to nickel and dime me to death even though it's under warranty, no they do not honor the warranty in Rockford Illinois. I told them of the issues and now they refuse contact unless it's about getting money. Yes they are a true American corporation! I tell people I know and others NOT to ever go to them and yes I have turned several friends and clients away from them and will continue to do so. They are bandits driven by greed. They do not even try to make good on anything they promise.
I bought a car from another dealer in Machesney Park Illinois. It didn't have a key fob but they got one at no charge, the car from Byrider didn't have one but they wanted $80 for it. The mirror from the Byrider car fell off within a week. They wanted me to pay $200 to replace it, the car was sold with bad breaks. They wanted me to pay for them, back windows don't work another $100. But wait they offer $10 recycled oil changes from poor mechanics lmfao. Byrider is a poor excuse of a business with bad practices, don't ever go there and don't believe anything they say.

I never got the Carfax report which I shoulda made sure which she told me she would get me and of course I never got it. Well a few hours after I got the car my catalytic converter started making noise. Well that was just the beginning. I've been in the at least 6 times due to catalytic converter, headlights, pig light, temperature gauge not working and brakes all this within 57 days of getting the car. Don't go there you guys. The list of issues is long. Just the fact that a customer who only came in to buy a car has dealt with these issues and treated so poorly says a lot. From first encounter I made them aware of issue. Service kept saying nothing was wrong. That happened 2-3 times. I finally got a hold of Chris the owner. He kept making it out to be nothing although he test drive it with me. They finally took to a transmission shop and clearly there was a problem. So they did fix that issue after they claim they have a checkpoint system. Clearly there is not because the car wouldn't have been in such a poor condition.
Chris the owner gave me a hard time and finally have gave me a loaner car. I asked him if it was safe. He quoted "I has been serviced". Well the loaner car they cut off three times before I made it home to a 15 min drive. So that speaks to the service creditability. He then offers me my trade in back and all my payments. I decide to apply forgiveness under the conditions that the issues with car would be taken care of. However when I got the car back the old issues and new issues were present.
I called service and they said it would be weeks before they could get me in. Chris says, "Thank you." I will win back satisfaction and he has yet to do that. Then the last straw is when I called in on Friday for a payment that was due that say to ASK if it was ok to pay $200 on that day and $100 on Monday. The rep from CNAC says let me check and I'll get back to you. I never heard back from anyone. But a task force team seemed like was following me Sunday night and took car and I was breathing fire!!!
I called Chris and he hung up on me. I had to walk home and all he was concerned about Was his wife sleeping beside him at the time. His words. I calmed down a little and said, "Yes it's late. Wait till tomorrow." Expecting to hear from him. Which I did not. I finally called him a few days later and he says I'm aware of the situation. To make it a short version. We agreed he would return my trade in and payments on 9/19 but on 9/20 he sent an email totally disregarding the agreement he made and said he would not be returning the car.
Each time I've dealt with company was unprofessional, lack of integrity. Greed and disapproval of consumer logical complaints and the list goes on. I think companies as such is a total disgrace nonhuman race. Where a company suppose to provides a product and a consumers pays them for it. This place gives car industry a bad Grade: F.

Not only have the issues been resolved but Tom went above and beyond what he had to do in order to make sure I was happy. They did a great job.
Original Review: Sept. 14, 2017
I've been asked several times to submit a review on JDByrider's performance and my experiences, so here goes. Literally from the moment I walked in the door, zero effort was made to make my experience enjoyable in any way, in fact it seemed quite the opposite. I was told right up front by Marcus that I'd be out in an hour, it took 4 1/2. He would talk for a minute or two, then disappear for 20 min. At first he was quite friendly and upbeat, but in short order it seemed like I was the least important thing in his world, even a little irritated with me for some reason.
There were several things wrong with the car, the AC and display were the most obvious and they said they'd fix it and that I had 60 days to bring it back into the shop and get it fixed. I work, a lot and their shop isn't open but from 9-6, but if you don't have your car in there by 430, they won't work on you as they are now cleaning up. So, really, 9-430. I work during those hours, so it was hard for me to get in. I brought the car in before the 60 day mark and Marcus tried denying me, blatantly lying to my face, saying that he "wouldn't give his own brother 60 days", and the copy of the contract that he kept didn't have the revision on it. My bad for not demanding they change the contract, but I didn't catch it. It'd been almost 5 hours, which I'm sure is why they do that, so they can slip little clever cons like this past you. Most dealerships do this though...
7 days later, a coolant connector broke and the car started overheating. I pulled over, called TC (one of the managers with CNAC, JDByrider's "bank") he came and picked me up and had a tow truck come pick up my car. It was then fixed by the time I got off work Monday. This was awesome. I am quite happy with the service in this instance.
One week later (not making this up) the radiator springs a leak and drains in between drives. Ok, not a huge deal, I just gotta keep coolant in it. A radiator isn't covered under warranty but as it was only two weeks in (and I kinda threw a mini fit over this, not freaking out but I was a little assertive in expressing my displeasure after the first response I got basically telling me tough **, not covered under warranty, sorry TC) TC and Tom agreed to change it free of charge. phew.
The AC... I brought it in within the first couple days to have it fixed, which when I got it back the AC was blowing cold air. Then it went completely out again within 2 months. I brought it into another mechanic (which btw, gave me a whole laundry list of other ** wrong with the car which Tom, the manager of the service department, proceeded to systematically dispute and/or just tell me that it wasn't part of the warranty because it wasn't safety related basically) and told me that my AC wasn't leaking, even going so far as to show me something under the front passenger tire and basically saying, "See? That's your AC and there's no leak". Now I know that freon isn't going to leave residue but I know very little about cars, I'm no mechanic (which, btw, I should've brought it into one but I dind't have spare cash to put up for a run-down of the vehicle.
I've since found a place that will inspect new cars for free, they're awesome! Big Priority Auto), but I didn't want to argue with him. A few weeks ago, surprise surprise, AC's starting to go out. I brought it back in to get my center console display installed, which they had to order and took some time but that went great, and I told Tom about it. He took a thermometer to my ac and tested it, it was blowing like 50* air or something, at that moment inside his shop.
Now a few weeks later the AC is almost completely gone again and I really don't want to have to go and argue with Tom again about why he should just do his job and fix the damned AC instead of recharging a leaking and failed AC unit every 6-8 weeks like was stipulated, IN WRITING, before I bought the car. That's not fixing anything, that's putting a bandaid on the problem and spewing CFC's into the environment (you know, the stuff that ate the FREAKING OZONE LAYER!). REALLY not happy with that.
Then there was my tire and CV axle... I started hearing some clicking a few weeks ago when I turned, so I figured it was CV axle. It got progressively worse fairly quickly, so I got it into the shop within about a week and a half of it starting (I was sure a CV wasn't going to be covered under warranty, but it was. Thank god). Apparently on top of the CV the wheel was about to come off. It had shorn some of the bolts off the hub and the hub needed to be replaced. I have not once touched the lug nuts on any of the tires, I haven't even removed the hub caps.
Now, it's not impossible someone, somewhere loosened some of my lug nuts for some reason. I don't think that happened... I think whoever last changed the tire was in a hurry or got distracted or something and forgot a couple lugs or didn't tighten down enough, or something. I don't know. I'm not a mechanic and it doesn't really matter. I brought it in and within like 4 hours I had it back, running great. Completely paid for by them (the CV was under warranty but the bolts and hub weren't) and this decision was come to jointly by TC and Tom. I'm not happy that this happened obviously but it got fixed quickly and painlessly.
One last problem, the vacuum hose on my car is in two pieces. It had electrical tape wrapping it, keeping the vacuum, but that failed (obviously) so I had to wrap it with duct tape as I couldn't afford the $90 hose. When I showed this to Tom he wasn't surprised at all and actually complimented me on my duct-tape wrap job. Said that's exactly what he does (though apparently he uses electrical tape so you can't see it on the black hose. I'll leave opinion out of this. All of this happened, exactly as I tell it. I've not embellished anything. For the most part, I'm not happy with JDByrider but it's been a mixed bag.

Then after waiting a week for my car which they basically said fix the car or return and still be on the hook for the loan. Now after a week without my car which it broke down Tuesday said it be done Tuesday still haven't gotten my car back and it Thursday. Luckily it happened within their 25000 mile warranty. They offer no extended warranty even if I'm willing to pay for it but this is absolutely ridiculous. I $2000 down and instead of paying a car outright thought I'd get something that's already been checked and had a work up and would hopefully last a little while before anything needed major like this needed to be done like this now. If I don't get my car back today I'll have to get another rental car. JD Byrider clearly doesn't do proper checks on their vehicles so please be careful with them.

I am very upset after purchasing a vehicle in which I paid way more than the value of to get my credit back on track and I'm appreciative of being able to get into a car but the warranty offered I believe is a joke and the statement they have good cars is fictitious. I have had door handle panels fall off after one day and have no brake lights or turn signals now just after 1 day.
Also has an idle issue not sure but they fixed it after test drive for it to come back a day later. Of course they will fix under warranty for 36$ deductible but after calling all 3 local locations it can't be looked at until over three weeks later which interferes with driving as I don't want a ticket or to be rear ended for not having brake lights. Oh and if you get one with a sunroof be prepared to pay to fix that as they disable them at auction and JD Byrider will not enable them when you purchase it either and they don't tell you that until afterwards. Very disappointed in my experience. I'd really hate something serious to go wrong if something like taillights take over 3 wks just to get looked at.

I went to JD Byrider December 2016. I had been without a car for months and was catching the bus in the snow. My credit was poor and I had a repo on my credit. They stated they work with customers with bad credit to rebuild credit and to help them get a vehicle. They seemed so nice and helpful. I was sold a 2009 Kia Rio for close to $14000 which I was shocked at the cost. The first 5 payments or so I was on time. I was 6 days late on a $195 payment and they were threatening to repo. They contacted many people I had placed on my reference list. When they did call they explained I was late on my payments and told my private info. They removed the fuel box from under the hood so the car would not start and I was not made aware until they brought them back. The very next day after the payment is due they start calling at 9am and continue to call.
I have had the vehicle less than 7 months and had to return it 3xs for repair. Twice for coil packs going out and once for the motor in the blower stopped working so I didn't have heat. I explained when I made the payment that I have been back and forth out of the hospital due to health problems and I have issues with my cell service so I am not intentionally ignoring them. But I still get the most unprofessional calls. I asked that when they call my references to not give details. She advised they are third party and when I provided those names I gave them permission to discussion personal info. Also I was not aware the shop was only open Mon-Fri and it can take weeks to get you in. 1 day late is bit much to start calling you and your contacts for a payment and threatening repo in less than a week. That is not helping customers. You can not trade in their vehicles because the interest rate is 24%. So you are stuck or eat a repo.

I don't write reviews but this was such a horrendous experience I feel obligated to warn people to avoid this place at all costs. I created an account just for this purpose. My girlfriend had financed a car at this place. She let her son take the car on a cross country road trip for a couple weeks. While the kid was gone they checked the GPS on the car and assumed wrongly that the owner had left without paying. She was told by Dane that they had tried numerous times to contact her about the car being out of state. Only none of the numbers they had on file were contact numbers for her or her kid.
Not only was there no phone contact but there wasn't any attempt to contact by email either. So the kid gets back into town, and not an hour later they come and repossess the car. The payment was six days late. All their stuff was still in the car so we went over there to get it all. 50.00 storage fee to get their stuff, and they mysteriously lost some expensive items too. They won't even allow her to make the payment to get her vehicle back. She has always been on time with her payments, but instead of working with her they would rather be **.
They are absolutely the worst car dealership in town. It's a scam to prey on people who don't have good credit. They even bragged about screwing another customer over twice and were reselling that person's vehicle. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. Tell anyone you can to not buy here either because they are dirty rotten crooks. Snakes waiting to squeeze whatever they can out of you.

Even though some the repairs were covered by warranty the pain of having to go back and forth to the shop and paying for repairs not covered by warranty and the car payment too does not add up to a good experience and my friend and former coworker told me not to buy here. I should have listened to him.
Now my credit's even more messed up because of crooks like JD Byrider. Honestly, I don't know how they been in business so long and how they are still in business. Hopefully future ratings will help them improve or go out of business. CNAC was another pain. High interest. Never again will I finance at the dealership's in house financing. That should be done through a separate financing entity.

I purchased a car from the J.D. Byrider store in Cleveland, OH in December 2016; on June 1, 2017, the car stalled on a freeway exit, I had to get the car pushed off the road and finally towed to the dealer for repairs. As of today (June 15th), I have been getting the runaround about the car. I have a family to support, I have lost money paying for rental cars to get back and forth to work. And I am still paying J.D. Byrider for a car I haven't been able to drive for two weeks - I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to buy a car from J.D. Byrider if this is how they treat customers. To anyone who reads these words and are considering buying from J.D. Byrider - DON'T!

Two weeks ago I went to the Fairfield, Ohio location of the J.D. Byrider stores. I had received a voucher for $500 off the retail price of a car, which would in the end equal to two car payments. The salesman (Dan) who had been assisting in the process of finding the perfect car was amazing. He explained everything to the best of his ability and he made sure I wouldn't get my hopes up by allowing me to be approved before showing me any car. Once I had been approved and decided on a car I went to the general manager to sign all the papers and he had acknowledged my $500 and had told me that it was applied to my payments. So I got the keys and before I drove away I made sure to tell Dan that we had already noticed a problem with the car. He was very helpful and told me to make an appointment with the service center.
After going home and looking at all the paperwork we realized the $500 had NOT been applied to my payments. I had called multiple times to reach the general manager (who is the only person who can rewrite my payment plan) and I didn't get a call back. We also sent an email to him and he never acknowledged the money aspect of it but he did acknowledge the rest of the message. I had to take the car to the service center twice to fix the same problem that had started before I left the store and both times while waiting for it to be fixed me and a few of his employees had tried to reach him and no one was able to get ahold of him.
Now the second trip I made to the service center they didn't have enough time to fix the problem so we had scheduled for the upcoming Sunday night I would drop the car off and it would be fixed and returned the following day. However I received a call the next day and they had told me they broke my windshield. So I wouldn't be able to get my car back until Tuesday (today). So after receiving that call, frustrated and angry, I called the main store demanding to talk to Kevin the general manager and the associate on the phone hung up on me.
So in response I called the corporate office who then forwarded me back to the same man who had hung up on me and he had started screaming at me and making a total fool of himself. When I started to say this was horrible customer service he then said, "Here she goes again" and proceeded to hang up on me again. I've been with the company two weeks and am already regretting my decision to sign a contract. My windshield is being replaced and the salesman I was originally in contact with has been very helpful with getting that rewrite, however I am very unsatisfied with the horrible service.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Mckenna. I'm sorry you did not have a great experience. We should always put our customers first. Please give us a call so that we can look into your experience and improve.

Ok so I got a car which had 1000s of problems but I was fixing them on my own with my own money. But then my motor goes out and this is when all the nonsense starts. So I was told I got my car at 118 thousand miles. I've had it for 1 year and now they're saying I have 250 thousand miles on my car which is literally like impossible unless I was driving about 1500 miles a day which is a ridiculous amount of miles that me as a 26 year old full time employee with a baby could never drive. All I do is go to work and come home and they have the nerve to tell me that I drove 100 thousand miles in a year and that I have to pay for the motor which I didn't find out until after 2 weeks after my car sat at their service dept.
I talked to the manager once after calling every week maybe 2 times a week and my boyfriend also calling and one day he finally decides to get on the phone with me being very rude for absolutely no reason at all. I asked him since he works in the profession he works in do he think that it's possible to drive that many miles in a year and he replied "I don't know. You the one was driving." What type of unprofessional mess is that. He also said that he have spoken to me which was a complete lie and that he tried to work out a plan with me and that I just hung up on him which is another lie. What reason will I have to be rude to someone I don't know and never seen in my life. I am flabbergasted...
I think this was rigged from the beginning. I think that the mileage that's in my paperwork was a complete lie and a set up just in case something like this happens. I have been told I got 126 thousand miles on the car. I have been told I have 153 thousand miles and it's bull and not fair. I think because I am so young and went there with no clue on cars they preyed on me and it's not fair to me as a struggling parent who works my butt off to provide for my family. It's just not fair and I plan on investigating this further with my lawyer.

They were very helpful, they repaired everything that was wrong with the car right away. Their service dept is great. They take advantage of people in financial difficulty by more than doubling the book value of their cars. You find yourself in need of a car, then not being able to get bank financing, then having no choice but to take them up on their offer for purchasing a car from them. I recently found myself needing a car, because of issues with the car that I had. Due to a past job loss and vehicle repossession, I went to JD Byrider. I also am the primary caregiver for my mother so I needed a reliable car. They sold me a car at just over $10,000 dollars, this car had a Kelley Blue Book value of just under $5,000. More than doubling the price. Yes, I could have walked away, but with my responsibilities and my job requiring a car, I felt I had no choice.

After owning the car for less than a year it needed to be fixed and repairs were several hundred dollars. After explaining that we did not have that kind of money for repairs since the car was only 7 months old the customer service department was of no assistance. Since we need the car to get to work and school as well as so pick up our school age children we had no choice but to get the car fixed. JD Byrider fixed the car but then was not willing to work with us on paying for the repairs.
Now we have no car, no money and are being evicted because we made the car payment but could not make the repair payment and they were unwilling to let us pay on it monthly to stay mobile. This is not a good way to do business especially when you sold us a car that needed repairs in the first place. We will be seeking assistance from the attorney general of the state of Texas to get this mitigated so we can either get our money back or be able to make payments for the repairs and keep our car since we will be needing it to find a new home. As a young family with small children, you need to be more upfront about the condition of the cars that you sell.

My wife and I purchased a car from JD Byrider after completing bankruptcy. We needed a 3rd row vehicle for our growing family. About 6 weeks after driving our car home, we began experiencing difficulties with the transmission. We took it in and it was confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced. This was done at no cost to us, including a part that had to be overnighted to complete the transmission repair work. Nate at the service department went above and beyond by having our repaired vehicle delivered to our home, as my wife had an important medical appointment to keep which otherwise would have required a taxi to arrive in time. Frederick in sales has also been wonderful. When we sat down with him at the time this issue began he assured us that in the worst case scenario he would find us a different car. This is a dealership that takes care if its clients.

So they gave me a service appt which when I went I was told that there was nothing wrong with the car. That they had just put breaks on the car and that the noise might always persist because of it. So I been driving the car and the noise just got louder. So I took a look and there are no front brakes at all. Called them again about it. Now they're not as nice as they was the day I got the car. The women I made the deal with won't even say hello when she sees me and not once came and ask do I need any help.
Anyway... I had someone look at the car and turns out I don't have no brakes on all 4 tires. So when I went back to them they saying I have to pay for the brakes because I'm over my warranty miles. I explained that I was within my mileage warranty when I came about the issue and was lied to saying that the back brakes were just recently done and that the noise was because I had new brakes in the back when the car has no brakes at all. A total unsafe car. They don't stand by their brand at all. Every time I come in no one knows anything. Don't buy from them at all. Fraud. Once they get your money they're be the enemy.

I completely agree with some of the reviews. On one positive note it does help bring credit score up. But the vehicles they sale you really don't think they go through 96 point inspection. The warranty is bs because from the first time in car I had some many problems. I told them about wiring shortage in car. They said was nothing. I complained of brakes needed fixed like every 2 to 3 months. They always find some reason around fixing anything until the warranty is gone then need over 2000 in work done and only had car for 1yr or so! Then their prices to repairs suppose to help us. No it doesn't. Prices are way more than other repair shops and brakes no warranty when others give lifetime on pads.
I just had to put an alternator somewhere else and was told it been going bad that was the shortage with lights and radio was from. Then for accidents pay a 500 dollar deductible and no loaner car. I would not recommend anyone to get vehicle here. Charge you $12,000 no matter what kind of car you in. They are full of craps! I can't wait to be done. Which car may not even last to the end of payments.

Well this all started a month ago when I took my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 to service for a transmission problem. It was grinding when put in gear. After three people took my truck on a test drive I was told by the owner that the grinding was just a nuisance noise. They would only fix the problem when it failed completely. So I drove it home. The next week the transmission failed completely. So I had to pay a tow truck to take it back.
Well they fixed the transmission after three weeks of fighting with them over it. When the truck was done I went to go get it. The owner had my key held hostage so he could talk to me. In this talk he pointed out the warranty document I signed. Well I should have read the documents a little better I guess. Anyway the owner aka Winston accused me of breaking my transmission intentionally. I asked him if he knew what broke. He said, "I'm not a mechanic." Well I'll tell you what broke. The shift fork. Which is caused by grinding the gears. Sound familiar?
I will never buy a vehicle from this place and if you are smart you won't either. So today I was telling a guy who works there about this while paying the payment though I wish I didn't have to pay these people any more money. The sales manager told me to leave in a very rude way. So I left. On my way out of the parking lot she tried to flag me back in. I said, "No, I have nothing else to say to you," and drove away. Please take a word from me. Buy a car or truck somewhere else. Thanks for reading my rant. Good luck on your journey to buying a vehicle but not from J. D. Byrider.

I have been having trouble getting financed for a new automobile, because my credit score is not the best in the world. I went to dealer after dealer only to be told the same thing. That is until I went to JD Byrider on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland Ohio. The sales lady who waited on me as well as manager went above and beyond the Call of Duty to help me. You would have thought that I had a million dollars in my pocket to spend the way they treated me. To my disbelief I drove home in a new car that evening. If they can put me into a new vehicle they can put anyone into a new vehicle. They are the most courteous and respectful people I've ever had business dealings with. Thanks JD Byrider and all your staff for putting me in my new vehicle.

We're glad we could help. Richard. Thanks for the review!

The process was bad from the start and it just got worse. The waiting process for me to get a car and get approved for the financing and everything took about five hours. It should not have taken that long. They gave me a car on a Saturday, sold it to me with one of the inspection stickers missing and the car was dirty on the inside. Literally, three days after my car stopped working and every time I call them to get them to come and pick it up, they keep placing me on long holds. I called yesterday during my lunch break which is an hour long and was on hold that whole time. I had to hang up to get back to work. Terrible experience. I plan on returning the car and not dealing with them ever again. I am still waiting for them to pick up the piece of crap car they sold me.

Hey Marielena,
We're sorry to hear about your experience so far. We would like to resolve this as soon as possible. Can you give us a call this morning to discuss? Thank you for your patience.

The way I was handled at JD Byrider - I had to leave my car with them so they could send to another shop to fix my transmission (Amco) and all I know is I left my car on the 20th, and when I left my car it had a full tank of gas, and when I picked it up yesterday the 28th it was left at a quarter tank of gas. That is not a good impression on your customers. Now as for the work they had done on the car can't respond on that yet. Just got her back but best believe I will be back with good or bad news. Thank you. Miss Dissatisfied.

I went here to qualify for a vehicle. I had to jump through hoops and I was told all the info I needed on hand. Well, I went home to get it then told I need something else. I was ran in circles for a few days then finally, the interview was so intrusive and humiliating then I was asked after that for my email after they had everything and everyone's information in my life. I told the salesperson I refuse to give my email because I believe it should be private then the guy turned very rude and denied me on the spot! They had all of my friends and family's numbers, addresses, my work, my fb, my bank information, ssn number, copy of my birth certificate plus every where I shop and what I buy. Way too intrusive and should be illegal so yes, avoid these blood sucking jerks. Btw, it's J.D. Byrider, Parkersburg WV.

Hi Dusty. We're sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience during our approval process. While our process is a bit different from other dealers, we can ensure you that nothing we do is illegal. We try and set up all of our customers up for success. Please give us a call and we can try to help! Again, we apologize for the negative experience and we thank you for your patience.

I financed a vehicle a year ago with JD Byrider and are still currently paying. At the time when we were signing our paperwork I asked for a Carfax report as stated to me when negotiating the purchase. I was told they would get me one but CNAC had already closed and I could pick it up the next day. Still to this day we have yet to receive one and have had numerous problems with the vehicle. Would this be considered breach of contract?

Hey Chris,

Thomas was great to work with. Made me feel comfortable with buying a car (Lancer). Worked with me to get me in the car I wanted with a good downpayment and explained everything and Melanie was also very helpful. I like that they added roadside assistance.

Thanks for the review, Chris. We're glad you like the car!

Great experience shopping for a pre owned vehicle with entire staff and management. Would highly recommend everyone to shop at dealer when looking for a great buy. Easy accessible location on the Westbank. PRICE WAS RIGHT. And vehicle fit all my family needs. Several of my family and friends have since shopped cars there.

I had an amazing experience with J.D. Byrider, immediately after I walked in I was helped. The sales reps had great attitudes and were very friendly and helpful. They made me feel comfortable and most of all they worked it out to where I was able to get a car I liked the same day. They went over and beyond to reassure me I was in good hands. I will definitely refer some friends.

There aren't enough characters provided in this space for me to express how completely beyond irritated I was with my car. Jeremy ** helped me at this location and what a relief his help was! While gracefully helping other customers, he navigated me seamlessly through the car buying process and was wonderful enough to take that devil Ford off of my hands. He made an effort to make a personal connection with me; even recommended The Pizza Place for me to get dinner afterwards. He is obviously well versed and confident in his knowledge while not sounding like he's reading scripted lines. I appreciate him (and Matt **) for getting me into a new car, even if it took a bit longer than I'd anticipated. Thanks guys!
