    I was hurried into a car that I was not particularly sure I wanted. As soon as I drove off the lot the check engine light came on. It has been in their garage twice and still is not fixed. I have only had the car for 2 months. I like the car but it is not working at correctly, exhaust smell front, end shakes, shift change is difficult going uphill and rear brakes grind.

    I bought a car from them about a year ago. I've had to do repairs several times, on the brakes and engine, as well as get a new battery and tires. I get that it's a used car, however it seemed excessive to me within 1 yr. So much for "reliable" vehicles. They have their own service department that offers repairs for "cheaper". It's by appointment, but good luck getting ahold of someone. I've called numerous times in one day and was unable to talked to anyone on the service side. I've even left messages and no one ever got back to me.

    One of my repairs was in my contract, because I noticed it on the test drive. Apparently (I only found out after it was fixed) the tires weren't balanced and were the wrong size for the vehicle, which caused them to rub in the front on turns. One of them split, so I had to get new tires. When they were changed, they coincidentally fixed the other issue. So I'm thinking that half of my front tire expenses would be fair, since the repair was in my contract. Nope, according to them they don't offer reimbursement. It's my fault I didn't try harder to get through to them. Even though, I work practically the same hours they're open, and the only way for me to effectively get any help is to come in, which I end up having to do on my breaks. Btw I don't work near Byrider, so it's out of my way. But whatever, none of that matters I suppose.

    I lost my debit card once and got a new one. I forgot that the payments come off my debit and not directly from my bank account. I got phone calls, texts, and emails all in a matter of hrs, but no one is available when I have a concern. I updated my insurance so that I didn't need theirs (which is ridiculously expensive). I emailed about the change, no one responded, and I was still charged until I called (repeatedly) and finally got it taken care of. Basically, they just don't want to talk to you unless it's about their money.

    Horrible customer service, bad business practices, and I would never recommend buying a car from these people. Hopefully I can help someone else before they get caught up in this trap of bad service and inconvenience. It's not worth it. There are other places who work with bad credit. You just need more money down. A bit of advice, save your money and go elsewhere. You'll definitely get a more reliable car.

    Had very bad credit, went purchased a SUV along with warranty for 3 1/2 years. Manager set up payments that I could afford and help get me financed, never had any problems and never needed to use warranty. I just finished paying my vehicle off last month. If there was a place for a picture I would post it. My Chevy Equinox still looks great, no dents, no rust and no mechanical problems, thank you J.D. Byrider and CNAC and they report to credit bureau and boosted my credit score. If you need a vehicle and have a job to pay go there, they will get you in a good vehicle with a warranty for a fair price rolled in with your payments, truly Nicholas **.

    We have been with J.D. Byrider for almost 3 yrs now. Car is almost paid off, was looking to trade in, but won’t pay 420 a month for a 2010 Equinox. I wanted I wanted something around 300 a month because insurance is 100 and before I pay 500 600 a month for a used car. I’ll go where my mother went. She drives a 2017 Kia Sorento and pays 300 a month while Byrider had been good to us. I just cannot see paying that a month. They say they're flexible with payments but that’s not true. Say they work within your budget. That’s not true either so I won’t get another vehicle thru them. Other locations will work with you but the Ashland KY one will not. We were the second customers to get a car thru them when they opened. Just disappointed at how high they have became and I know would not recommend anyone there for that reason. You can get better deals even at other buy here pay here places where it’s not 500 600 a month.

    It was my husband that needed a car in a bit of a hurry so we went straight after me picking him up from work on a Friday. We went to the Colerain location which was kind of out of the way but that’s not the point. When we got there we walked around the lot to see what they had to offer, and did find one we liked. It just happened to be marked the cheapest on the lot so we thought that was a plus as we didn’t have much money. We went in and were greeted by a very nice young man who would then work with us the rest of the night. His name was Jazz **.

    Now JD Byrider advertises that no one pays more than $99 down. Well I, in order to keep the payments low offered a bit more than $99 and low and behold they asked for more. I was quite surprised at this as like I said they only advertise $99 down so I couldn’t figure out why they would be asking for more if I had already offered more than $99. The bottom line is I offered $400 they asked for $500 but really wanted $1200. (Supposedly they don't look at credit as a factor but I suspect that was exactly what they did, the no credit check was the biggest reason we went there because yes we both have tarnished credit.) So they worked the other $700 into our first several payments which started on December 13, 2019. With that said it makes me think we must’ve bought the car in early November and by the third week it had to be towed from our driveway in Sharonville to JD Byrider on Colerain Avenue. This was done by JD Byrider.

    I must back track a bit. They did give us a 4 year warranty which they tell us most used car places do not do. Ok the tow was done on a Friday after my husband barely made it home and they promised us the car back on the Tuesday coming up after they told us it was the transmission. Tuesday came, the new part had not come in so it turned into Wednesday, again came and they said the truck that was carrying the part had broke down so Friday. Friday came and the part came in to late for them to install and test drive so it would be Monday.

    This time we finally did get it. Now we asked them on the Friday they took it what do we do for a car? They said you can get a rental and bring the receipt and we will reimburse you. We went to the rental place and they wanted $200 refundable money down that day and $40 a day thereafter. We could not afford that. Luckily my mom had two cars and let me borrow one till they were done. Naturally after that many days all three of us were upset by the whole thing.

    Not two days after we got the car back that time it was back in the shop again. This time for water in one of the injectors. Luckily they only had it for a day that time. However, I was still trying to figure out what to do about the first incident. They said they would not change the payment dates (which are of course are every two weeks) and no we could not turn the car in. I said well we had to borrow a car because we didn’t have the money to rent one, if I had brought in a receipt supposedly I would’ve been reimbursed so now because it was someone I knew car I get nothing?? He said, “What do you want?” I told him how much the rental would’ve cost for all those days ($640 including deposit). He said how about $100 but I can’t get it till after New Years. I reluctantly agreed knowing this was wrong and decided to bring my story to you. I’m hoping you can help me get justice and expose JD Byrider for what they really are.

    Jd Byrider of Beechmont sold me a Chrysler 2014 with over 100,000 miles on it at a payment 446.00 a month. It was poorly inspected, with 2 used tires, with low bad oil and heating issues. Now I'm having engine problem with rocker arms badly worn. Found out on these particular rocker arms goes out at about 90,000 miles.

    Terrible place to do business with. I'm sure I've already written a review but I'll write another. So many problems with this place. To start as soon as I drove my car off of the lot my check engine light came on. When I called and tried to schedule an appointment, I was offered an appointment WEEKS down the line. Okay whatever. Fast forward to a point in time where my car was taken and towed from my driveway AFTER I paid my bill. When I asked them to locate my car they told me where it was then realized they made a mistake and hung up the phone promising to get back to me. My car was on the repo list INCORRECTLY. Okay. I called them back trying to see what was happening and was rudely told things like this happened and this just "happened to slip through the cracks".

    They pester you to pay them. They wont take half payments. They dont care that you have a death in the family, the car broke down and you couldnt get to work or whatever. They want their money. Very... not understanding. Okay cool it's a business whatever. I ended up having to go to the lot and get my car myself. Missed work that day and time and they offered a days pay as an offer to settle the mess up on their end. I had been towed before and was asking for them to waive some fees. But no hunny they were not for it..

    Okay fast forward. I really needed to get this check engine light off so I could pass emissions. I took my car to their mechanic since I did have a warranty.. The man "fixed" my brakes and my fuel line which had BEEN LEAKING GAS! Scared to light up anything in that car and praying no one threw a butt or anything lit out theirs while driving yall! I told the man I needed to pass emissions and to fix whatever was stopping me from passing. He fixed my brakes which afterward made a squeaking noise when I applied pressure to them. That was not happening when I took them in. My brakes where weak and while they were stronger my brake fluid light was on and a grinding squeaking noise was heard after he "fixed" them. I will say this. Man was kind and had great customer service but he didnt do what I needed him to and called me about a damn headlight when I needed my catalytic converter done.

    Yes I went to AutoZone and another mechanic before any work was done by JDBs technicians. Thankfully the diagnostics for those mechanics were free. My catalytic converter was why my engine light was on when I drove off the lot. Now.. I agreed to pay around... 10-15k for this used car..a Chevy Cobalt. While my car was repossessed not too long ago I can say I'm glad it is gone. These people in South Holland always had a attitude. Will hound for money as if it were theirs personally which yea it's their Jobs but they lacked professionalism. When I asked for them to explain why my car cost so much maybe a year down the line the lady said, "You shouldve asked these questions before agreeing to lease the car." Like no ** lady. They have that partition right there for a reason at the south Holland location cause you will be ready to knock they teeth in.

    I will say Al the manager and Chris were both very kind and polite and did whatever they could to help me out! They talked to me with respect and understood the struggle and were always professional! The women on the other hand they were always nasty. I did not see this until after the contract was signed guys. Read the fine print! Know exactly what you are getting. Have a mechanic come look at the car. And if I were you I would take it to the emissions place before agreeing to buy it. It will save a lot of money down the line. Now look at me. No car. A ton of expired license plate tickets and highly unsatisfied with the customer service of this place. Go elsewhere.

    A used Chevy cobalt should not cost 10 thousand dollars. I was desperate and needed a car for work at the time and had been every place I could think of. Take your time! Dont come here. They selling Lemons and getting over on people baby. Dont be fooled by their kindness and courtesy at first because the minute you get a new job and your payday changes you are ** out. Things happen but BEWARE!!!

    My transmission went out on my car and I was in desperate need for a new car. My commute is 120 miles a day. Of course my credit was bad and I applied at a few "guarantee to approve a loan places." I went to the Madison, WI location and Mika greeted me. I said I just need to know my options as I have to reconfigure my budget to allow a car payment again. They took all my information and worked some magic with their "bank" (I.E. an office room in the back). He kept repeating that they will get me into a car but do not expect a new or top of the line car.

    I just wanted to know prices of cars and payments but I never got that answer. I just was told that I should expect to pay about $200 every other week. He then showed me some cars that were in my range, I guess. Five were stick shift and one was not. It was an old Subaru that I took for a test drive. The interior was dirty and ripped, the cruise control did not work, the prop rod fell off as I was looking at the cracked belts and hoses. Mika just said, "oh the prop rod must be able to come out." Nope, that is not how these things work; it was so loose that it almost fell on me. Then I noticed the price of the car said $14,000. KBB said $4000 in mint condition. Then I noticed all the cars had a general price of $14,000. THEY DO NOT SELL YOU A CAR BASED ON YOUR CREDIT AND PRICE. THEY SELL YOU BAD CARS BASED ON YOUR CREDIT.

    Everyone pays the same amount on any vehicle in their lot. I told him that I was not confident that I could afford it and tried to leave. He then made me speak to the billing person who tried to reassure me that it was a great deal and Subaru sell fast. At this point, my anxiety was so high, that I started crying and I said I just wanted to leave. Finally they let me go. My mechanic called me shortly after and asked me if he could buy my old car and he has a car for sale. I now own a beautiful 2010 Ford Taurus that only had one owner (a mechanic) and maintained in pristine condition only for $3800. I make my payments of $200 a month. GO ANYWHERE BUT THESE TYPE OF PLACES, you will find a better deal and a better car.

    I've had a lot of issues with service not fixing the problem I bring my car in for, pretty sure that they are just resetting the check engine light, which comes on an hour or two after each time I pick my car up. I originally took my car into JD Byrider's service department because I got my car from them. The issue I was having was misfiring, car losing power and stalling while in traffic. I expressed how dangerous it was for my car to lose power in traffic, especially with my young kids in the car and they have yet to fix the problem. My car has been in the shop at least 9 times since the summertime for the same problem, I don't understand why they keep giving me back my car without fixing the issue and making it safe to drive. I can not even get it to pass inspection to get my plates renewed. They told me this time they were for certain the problem was fixed, one day later my car wouldn't start.

    I called them to let them know and they said they would have it towed in, instead, they sent out a technician to diagnose my car but all he did was charge the battery and leave my car running. My girlfriend heard the technician outside messing with the car and called me because she was unaware of what he was there for (he didn't bother knocking on the door or letting anyone know who and why he was there). I asked to speak with the technician to find out why my car was not starting, I'm not a mechanic so I didn't understand what he was saying, therefore I asked if he'd would like to turn around so he could show me what was going on.

    Later that day I got a call from JD Byrider saying that I had threatened the technician, which was absurd. I asked why they did not ask me what I said rather than falsely accusing a 2-year customer of something I didn't do and they apologized and got my side which they agreed was a misunderstanding by their technician.

    The next morning my car was dead again, so I recorded my car not started and went into JD Byrider to show them the video. I first went to sales, who informed me that it wasn't their problem and that I need to go to service. On my way over to talk the service manager Ben, I saw Brittany from sales who I'd just spoken to running to service.

    I approached the service counter to show Ben the video and he went on a rant about how I threatened his technician, which I thought we had cleared up. It then became obvious that they were looking for an out to not have to spend any more time on my car. Upon explaining to Ben what was really said he told me to get out and Brittany kept saying "call the police on him" and Ben told me to leave or he'd call CPD. I was frustrated as any customer would be but far from hostile and there was absolutely no need to tell me to leave or call the police.

    They never diagnosed my car or took it into the shop, it sat in my driveway for 2-weeks. I got my old battery tested, and the cells were dead, mostly like from them resetting the timing. I had to wait for 2-weeks for payday to buy a new battery which did start my car up, but the engine light was back on. I got a check engine light at O'Reilly's this morning and they said that coded were most likely because of the work just done which was causing low voltage and other problems. I've lost a job over this car, have spent money on rental cars and just been under a lot of stress behind this entire experience. I am to the point of suing JD Byrider. They are by far the most unethical dealership and car service department I've dealt with and I do not recommend them.

    I am not even financing anything through CNAC. However, the person that lived in this apartment before me did. I was at home relaxing and cooking and get a BANG at my door that was so startling I was shaking and afraid to open the door. I hear a man say “She isn’t answering!” Then they slipped in an envelope. I opened it and called the number and was greeted on the other end of the phone by a lady name Lauren that was so obnoxiously rude.

    I told her about how scared I was and I’m not sure who they are looking for but lady they doesn’t live at this address anymore. She was raising her voice at me and was so inconsiderate. I had the rental office follow up with her and she told them not to call back and hung up the phone. I would suggest NOT to finance with them.     I dropped off my vehicle for a 48 hour drop off. The vehicle had an abs light on and a reduced engine performance notification on dash. They kept my vehicle for a week. I drove vehicle back home and the reduced engine performance light came back on. Now I have a check engine light on and a service engine soon light on. They were supposed to change oil and filter, check and fix abs system and fix the reduced engine performance issue. Now it seems like the vehicle is worse with the additional notifications. I just want my vehicle fixed and not kept for a week. Their prices are reasonable but I don’t think they are fixing anything. I just think they are just clearing codes.

    Secret pricing, deceptive practices. Will charge you double for what the car book value.. look around no prices, year or mileage listed... Buyers beware. I mean nice people but what is usually too good to be true usually is. How you tell me bring $500 for a down payment then tell me you need $2400. Troy, Pedro nice people but bad practice.     Just yesterday September 19, 2019 I was at J.D. Byrider paying my bill. While paying my bill I decided to mention to them about my key being broke from the beginning. So I go to service and service call there local guy who took a while before coming so I'm there waiting. No one ask me the entire time I was there for my a copy of my insurance.

    So on September 20, 2019. I get a knock at my door. Some hispanic girl with a tank top on with tattoos all over her body holding a cell phone to her ear and a paper. So I open my door to see what she wants and she tells me somebody on the phone name maria wants to speaks tk me. So I look at my car and a guy and a baby in a black car parked in front of my car. So I get the phone telling these people that I have insurance and to get from house. For one where I live is private property and I have a camera right over my door. So the hispanic girl go back down to the black car and then a guy comes to my door. I comes out the door. He tries to tell me that Maria is on the phone and that she wants to talk to me so he tries to block me from walking then takes his elbow and push me. Really J.D. Byrider.

    Now first of all I dont owe you no payment. I was there two weeks prior to today and they made a copy. They called me to me come and bring it and I did even after being there on yesterday was never ask for a copy but send these ignorant people to my door. I am meeting with my attorney on Monday regarding these people coming to my house and this young man pushing me as well J.D. Byrider harassing me when my bill is paid. This is not the first time they have sent these people to my house all for a copy of my insurance. Also I am law enforcement. And they have pushed the wrong person, all because of insurance something have of them dont have. I'm done with these people. I will never tell anyone to buy from these people.

    Let me start by saying this. I was in the car business for many years. When I came into JD I needed some help getting a vehicle. I had some credit issues and just needed a low payment. I was thrilled with the process and how easy it was to get a deal done. My buying experience was amazing. Now I have had this vehicle for almost 2.5 years and still to this day, I have never missed a payment. CNAC the finance company has some of the most rude, and unqualified people making phone calls trying to get me to run the card I have on file at 8am. Not happening.

    I asked the gentleman if he had my payment history in front of him and he stated that he did. Then I asked him could he tell me when my last late payment was? He said, "You do not have any." I understand they have to look out for their investment but Every week for 2.5 years CNAC calls at 8am on Friday mornings to try to pressure me to pay them. Again never missed a payment. CNAC, call the people who do not make their payments and you will have a more entertaining phone call. I would recommend JD on Shadeland Ave but they have got to get a better policy in place for harassing phone calls.

    I recently purchased a used car from a local J.D. Byrider. I drove it home and it seemed to work just fine at first until I decided to fill up the tank. After filling up the car, I got back in and went to start it only to have it not start. This is the same day I drove it off the lot. After multiple attempts it finally starts and I drive it back home. Upon reaching home I took a detailed look inside the car and realized it’s beyond dirty with stains and spots on the interior. The next two days everything works as it should then the check engine light comes on; I bring it in and instead of fixing it they give me an appointment to come back this week to fix it. So I’m forced to drive around with a check engine light on after only a week of owning the vehicle.

    Next I go to fill the car up again this past Sunday and again it won’t start unless a try multiple times. I parked it Sunday night and went about my business for the next two days without driving it. Last I come outside to go to work as any regular working person would. I could not unlock the car or even get the auto start to work. They gave me only one key and that key doesn’t work with manual way of opening up the car. So because I was unable to use the car I just bought not even two weeks ago I ended losing my job today for not showing up. This is where it starts getting really interesting. I go back to the dealership and ask for their manager; was told he’d be in in a couple hours. As I try explaining somewhat calmly that the car isn’t working and that it cost me my job, I’m getting talked over rudely by the salesman who sold me the car in the first place.

    Then his manager comes out of his office and joins in on the discussion and has the nerve to tell me “we/I can’t guarantee that our cars work.” Meaning that even after feeding the lie that each car goes through a rigorous 92 point test and that it should run upon purchase, that that’s not always the case. At this point I’m shaking and not happy that not only am I out of a car until they fix it but I’m also out of a job. At this point I’m considering speaking with a lawyer because i feel I’ve been scammed and ripped off by this dealership. I would highly suggest never buying a car from ANY J.D. Byrider.

    J.D. Byrider's mechanic is a liar. I bought a 2013 Kia Forte from them 3 months ago and it's been running rough since the third day I bought it. I've had it back in the shop 4 times since I bought it. Each time for a different issue. Radio blew out, wheels unbalanced, car not aligned, plus the fact it runs rough. They sold it to me without coolant. When I told the mechanic it runs rough he said, "It's a Kia. It's supposed to run rough". He also said he drove it and got up to 70 mph. That was suspicious considering he only took it around the block. They forget they put gps in their cars and I could see where he drove. I feel like I've been lied to and taken for a ride. The 2013 Kia I purchased through them is not performing like it should and the mechanic won't do a thing about it.

    Bought a car in March. In July alternator and battery had to be replaced. That was ok. When I went to pick up. Car would not crank due to bad key. When I took car there key cranked it fine. Never had a key issue. They offered no explanation as to remedy this situation. Told me I had to pay for new key. If key was working when I left it...it should have been working when I picked up. When issues arise it's hard to get someone in the line then if they do answer they are rude and nasty. They start repairs before authorization then quote you outlandish prices.     I had gone into J.D. Byrider about a month and a half ago, I walked in, was greeted by Conrad at the SLC State Street location. He was very helpful, funny, gave me a good buying experience. I had purchased a 2008 Chevy Equinox. No check engine. It ran great.... About 2 to 3 days later my check engine comes up on my way to work, and overheats on me in the middle of the freeway between Park City. I didn't drive the car for a whole week until I was able to get it to the service center, again no issues. I gave them my car and they gave it right back to me. I had it for about a couple days and it goes back to overheating, and dropping tons of antifreeze everywhere. I take it back to the service center where they tell me "Oh it shouldn't be doing that and we'll get it checked and back to you."

    I get a call about 5 days later to go pick it up. On my way there the car overheats on the test drive, at this point I'm frustrated because I have been missing work and losing money from having to get a ride here and there from work. Once I talk to them about what they are gonna do they go and get a whole new engine for me, but soon find out that it was a faulty engine, so I'm sitting here 3 weeks without the car, CNAC is up my ** trying to get a payment from me when I haven't had the car for weeks.

    About a week ago I got contact from Theodore the CNAC manager, and he tells me, "If you like we can give you your refund and give you the car and we'll go our separate ways." So I said, "Yes let's do it," I put about 1,200 to 1,300 on the car and they want to give me back 300, I get a message from Theodore saying "You still have to pay for the time you had the vehicle. The fact that I am letting you out of the contract you should be happy man." They have not only screwed me over on my own money but shown that it's not about the customers. Most of these comments are written beforehand to make them look good but don't be fooled. Definitely regret coming here...

    I've had my car for almost a yr. NEVER missed a payment. My husband started a new job and as you ALL may know starting a new job in the middle of the month may cause a setback on at least one bill, so I called them and asked if I could make my payment on next week due to only having enough funds for my mortgage, they told me to borrow the money from someone OR come and PARK the vehicle that I've never been late on, NEVER missed a payment on! REALLY?!?! THESE PEOPLE DO NOT I REPEAT, WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU ON YOUR PAYMENTS! Who wants to lease from someone who can't even give you not 2 but 1 week to make your payment??

    She had the nerve to tell me, "We try to teach you" wait what? First of all I'm 40 and don't need to be taught by you NOR J.D. Byrider!! If you want REAL HELP ON GETTING A VEHICLE, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE, I got my SUV from the one in Panama City. And they SUCK! They will not tell you everything upon purchase, and hit you with all kinds of other things when it's time to pay!! Awful awful AWFUL!!! I wish someone had warned me!!     My experience at J.D. Byrider Allentown, PA has not been a good one. They are unprofessional and their phone skills are basically non-existent. I bought a 2007 Hyundai Elantra from then in 2017. I returned the car march 2019 because I could not afford the payments plus all the maintenance the car needed. So I took it back. Over the course of the loan I used my bank card and my credit card to pay the payments my husband who is not on the loan or any paperwork from CNAC also used his bank card to make payments for me.

    About 6 weeks after returning the car CNAC stole 360 from my husband's bank account when the bank investigated CNAC told then he was on a recurring account. Which was a lie. His card was never set up for recurring chargers since his name was not on the account. Now they dont answer the phone at CNAC or call us back. I would only suggest going to J.D. Byrider out of desperation for a car. They will sell you a piece of crap car and then start calling you days before your payment is due to start harassing you that your payment is due. I owed over 8000 on this car that was only worth 1100. They are rude ** con artists. If you don't believe me just call and talk to anyone in CNAC they sound like the bus from the projects just dropped the whole department off at work. A chimpanzee has better phone manners and skills than anyone in CNAC department. All I have to say is good luck to you if you deal with these people!

    Sure they'll help out those of us with bad credit etc. But research other dealers. I'm not a journalist so I'll list my complaints then my compliments.

    COMPLAINTS.
    1. Kept avoiding in telling me the sticker price for the car. Said it didn't matter (my fault for being so desperate, gullible and naive I guess).
    2.car has had problems since day one. Check engine light came on 2 days after getting car. They took care of it and gave me a Dunkin Donuts gift for my troubles. Which was cool. But so many other smaller problems have happened that make me think if they even checked the car in the first place.
    3. The detail job once the transaction was done was some guy just whipping it down real quick before it left lot. PS still have streak marks on drivers side console that won't go away.
    3. The BIGGEST issue. THEY DONT TAKE PARTIAL PAYMENTS.... AGAIN! THEY DONT TAKE PARTIAL PAYMENTS!!! meaning you fall behind for whatever reason. Piss off they want all that's owed. Family member died and just can't afford to pay. Oh well, give us all the money now! Can only pay some now? To bad. Need it all now... That's a huge deal. And should definitely be something you need to know when considering buying a car. I speak from experience. DONT GET A CAR FROM THESE CROOKS.

    4. You can't pay online. You have to call or go in. It's like buying a model T in 1934.

    For the love of Jesus, please listen up. Don’t ever buy a car at JD Byrider! I bought a car on February 26th and it has caused me problems since the day I took it off the lot. The keys didn’t work to let me inside of it after being locked out and the only way they’d help me was when I got the Cleveland Police involved. This time not even 45 days later, it’s in the shop again, been there for over a week and now the service department are telling me is they’re having a hard time finding the parts to fix it. Seriously! I’m making $400 car payments plus $140 car insurance for nothing. I’m even driving. I’m so distraught over this so please listen when I tell you NOT to go here!!!

    I’ve contacted a lawyer for Texas lemon law. I have not had my car 30 days and it starts when it wants. They say they’ve fixed the issue. I get in the car today and the ale issue has occurred. They do prey on people with credit issues selling lemons OVER priced. I should have been patient but god knows I couldn’t lose my job. I’m currently filing a lemon law dispute with the DMV. This place is horrible. Fred in sales doesn’t care after he sells car. Hanna in whatever she does in paperwork lies and smokes cigarettes. All shift there demons and con artist but I bet they won’t sell another car off the lot until mine is fixed, money is returned or new vehicle is given. I’ll be in the store every day turning customers away!! I'm petty and I got time today.

    False advertisement. I referred someone to J.D. Byrider in January because I got an email from them that said "refer someone in your birthday month and we will make your next 2 payments up to $200." I got one check but, not the other so, I called them up and they said because I never filled out the form and gave it to my friend they couldn’t honor it. How was I supposed to print it out and give it to my friend who lives an hour away from me? If they won’t honor this makes me wonder what else they won’t honor.

    I drove many different vehicles prior to purchasing my Mazda Tribute. I was in desperate need of a reliable vehicle. After having the vehicle for less than a year, the computer assisted steering went out. I checked and it was out of warranty, I researched it and found it was a manufacturer recall and the vehicle I purchased was reported for 4 incidents of loss of steering two resulting in accidents. The repair costs for parts was $2,800 not including labor. My vehicle sat for over a year without being driven, ultimately I requested help in the repairs from J.D. Byrider due to the fact the issue was not on the Carfax report after two accidents?!?! J.D. Byrider refused to help. I ended up letting the vehicle be voluntarily repossessed. J.D. Byrider sold the vehicle for $1600 and left me with a $11,500 loss and debt. Don’t buy from J.D. Byrider!!!!

    Today, Freddie Johnson called me because I sent in an inquiry to set up an appointment at your COLUMBUS, OH Morse Road Location. I sent him the following disclosure: "Just relocated from Seattle to Columbus Ohio. I've been here 30 days. I have 2 repos. 2016 & in 2018 (2018 I was on a medical leave and didn't have income). My credit score is around 545. I have about $500 down. I don't care what kind of car it is as long as it's automatic transmission and won't breakdown in the next 12 months"

    Freddie's response was "I hear all of that, but we can help you and I will send you a coupon and because we are in-house financing they will see all your efforts to improve your credit and if you have that offer letter for your job they will appreciate that too. It's okay. You just moved here. You only have $500 cash down, that's okay, we could approve you for less than that down, we just want to get you in so you can get on the road. {I told him - I will have to Uber there, I do not want my time wasted) - he said it won't be, you are in good hands."

    I emailed all verifying documentation via email IN ADVANCE, I was very efficient and organized. Austin, the salesman who assisted me upon my arrival even commented how refreshing I was because I had everything ready and organized. They send everything to financing... THEN I get DENIED. Your financing company wants to see 90 days on my job + $2K down because of my repossessions!

    What PISSES ME OFF I told them UPFRONT what EXACTLY was on my credit, how much cash I had down, that I JUST MOVED 4 weeks ago to the state and had not started my job yet. I VERBALIZED and WROTE ALL of this WITH supporting documentation!. JD BYRIDER wasted my time AND cost me $48 round trip in UBER!

    An ethical company would have said, "Thank you for your disclosures, based on our experience, with the challenges you have in your background, our finance team likes to see at least 90 days on the job with $2k down." Or something like that - but NOPE, Mr. Freddie says, "it will be fine. We approve people with way worse."

    The Location Manager, Shawon emailed me asking for a current pay stub - I told him - I do NOT have any pay stubs yet, I start work 3/28/19 and the current remedial job I have I do not get my first paycheck until next week. His response was, "ok, gotcha." THAT was the point in which he should have said WE NEED 90 DAYS OF PAY STUBS HERE IN COLUMBUS, OH. I even sent him 6 months worth of pay stubs that I had from my previous job in WA state! Even WHEN I do get my 90 days on the job and save up $2K I would NEVER purchase from your company - purely based on the slick talker Freddie, false advertising, time wasted and money I spent on Uber. You need to deal with your ethics and stop being predators.

    We bought a Hyundai Elantra in November of 2017. The car was banged up on driver side, passenger door and rear quarter panel, huge scratch down passenger side. If not for the fact we desperately needed a vehicle would not have bought this for $10,000. Now the finance person wants to say we did the damage. The car was a repo sold at auction. This place a huge rip off. We have had nothing but issues with this car since day 1. Will never buy here again. Sales person was pushy and negligent. No longers works there. Not surprising. Now in Manchester NH location they gave finance woman who is rude beyond rude. Horrible customer service. Horrible finance people. Good luck to anyone buying a vehicle at this location.

    They Peoria location and individuals were very helpful! They listened to what I needed and wanted while keeping in mind what I can afford. The service and parts department even introduced themselves and gave me either car in case I ever needed them or had questions. My only suggestion would to go over the paperwork more detailed before you just leave the customer in the room to watch the video. Overall though it was a pleasant experience and I wasn't there for more than a couple hours. Mainly because I did test drive 4 vehicles making sure I really liked what I was trying to get into.

    Updated on 03/04/2019: I wrote a review about our experience at the JD Byrider in North Little Rock and how the car had a squeaking problem with the belt and how they wanted $45 to fix the problem. Got a response back from the owner asking to contact them about this small problem that has turned into a big hassle with them and how they wanted to fix this problem. So I tried once again this morning to go by and talk to them because they said they wanted to resolve this issue. So I wasted my time to go down and try and fix this. Got down there and it was the same thing all over again. No one could help me. The owner was out and would not be in today. If you guys want to resolve this issue since I'm having a problem finding someone up there that CAN help me. Here is my number **.

    Like I said before. Car is not a lemon by any means. The car has a belt that squeaks just a hair while it's idling don't hardly notice it. But to me this problem should be fixed by them since we tried to take it back within the 24 hours of purchase. Anyway if you want to resolve this issue now you have my number. And if we can come to a agreement I don't mind writing another review that shows yes they cared enough about their hard working customers to resolve this but if not the way I see it. The review I first posted about this issue can stand as how I feel about this business and our buying experience went with them. But if there is someone that wants to change our experience please contact me.

    Original Review: We got a car from there yesterday. They don't let you take their cars on interstate while test driving their cars and only let you make the Warden Road, Landers Road Loop so don't really know how it will drive. We heard a squeak when the car was idling but only here and there. Not too bad. Should be a easy fix. So this morning I took car back. Less than 24 hrs off their lot. They wanted $45 for the deductible on the warranty. So I talked directly to the owner. Figured she would understand that this blue collar just gave all his money to them yesterday to get the car so she would help right? Nope.

    They don't care how hard their customers worked for their money they just gave them for a car. She said there was nothing she could do cuz we signed the papers and didn't tell them about the squeak then. But like I said didn't get much of a test drive. But something you think is small quick fix goes wrong less than 24 hrs from getting the car. Owner agreed that the squeak was there before we got the car from them but because we didn't tell them that the squeak was there before we signed they couldn't help their hard working blue collar customer who just gave them all his money yesterday.

    They wanted to pull $45 more out of him cuz the money it cost him to get the car wasn't enough for their greedy owner. She couldn't help the little guy. The hard working blue collar guy that just gave all his money yesterday for the car. I feel like it was her way of saying, "I don't care. I got your money so piss off." Yesterday I would have sent anyone I heard that was looking for a car to them. Less than 24hrs later. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to go get a car from them. The owner obviously thinks she is better than the blue-collar hard-working customer of hers. Yes she agreed the squeak was there but wanted more money for her upper middle class to lower rich class to take home. She don't want to help the little guy.

    She wants to take his money then if you miss the payment she gets all your money and the car back so she can set back on her nice chair and do the same thing to the next guy that actually works hard for his money. See if she can piss on another blue collar guy cuz. You signed the paper and didn't put down on the paper that it was there so it's not on them. EVEN THOUGH SHE AGREED THE SQUEAK WAS THERE. No the car is not a lemon by any means. The car is a nice car with small problems but when the owner doesn't respect her hard working blue collar customers enough to say let's get it in there and fix you up right now and take care of this for you. Who would tell the next blue collar to go there to get your car.

    If the squeak came 2 weeks after purchase I would understand paying the $45 deductible for the warranty to cover it. But less than 24 hrs and already wanting to eat more of your hard earned money. That's wrong. That's not how you treat people. And if you work hard for your money I would not recommend you to go here. Cuz just in case there is something wrong with it you're gonna have to give them more money. Even if it's the next day. And P.S. there is a tan color 4 door GMC Sierra on the lot and a white Nissan Juke that I seen sitting there this morning while I waited for them to open.

    They had a man out there starting all the cars and writing down the mileage out there and I watched those to cars sitting there white smoking for 15 mins or more. Which means a blown head or a head gasket issue. Be careful on what you get. And if you don't know your cars take it to a shop to have them look it over before you sign anything cuz even if the issue was already there. If you don't tell them. They won't fix it. The owner will tell you. "You should have said something before signing the paper." Not very professional for a owner to treat her customers that way. What happened to treating people like you would want to be treated.

    If I could give negative stars I would! I am a single mother who is rebuilding credit and went to J.D. Byrider in search of reliable transportation and a way to improve my credit score after my divorce. This company bamboozled me. The same day I purchased the vehicle and signed my paperwork the engine light came on and hadn't gone off in the entire 18 months and after the 12 times I put the vehicle in the shop to rectify the issue. After signing my paperwork for the car the saleswoman at the Austin, TX location (which was closed down a month after I acquired the vehicle) took the car to put gas in it and the engine light came on. She told me and the Sales Manager about the engine light and he instructed me to go to a third party to fix it.

    Needless to say 4 months and 3 temp tags later I was still not able to register my car because the engine light is an automatic inspection FAIL! So I contacted J.D. Byrider and spoke to a man named "Ram" who advised me that the issue would get fixed although I had already taken the car to the third party mechanic and Pep Boys 5 times already to fix the engine issue (o2 sensor repair, gas cap replacement etc.) and nothing worked. Ram arranged for someone to pick up my car to get it inspected and promised me (which he now lies about claiming he never said) that he would replace the car if the engine light came back on. They kept my car for 3 weeks and got it inspected and dropped the car back off to me with the engine light STILL on.

    I called Ram and he dodged my calls and instructed someone else to basically tell me I was out of luck and that used cars aren't perfect. This company knowingly sold me a car with severe engine issues which left me as a single mother without a vehicle for a total of almost 3 months out of the year and a half I had the vehicle. The cherry on the pie of all this is that the timing belt went out on me in December and I had to once again rent a car and be liable for my car note. After two weeks of paying $300/week for a rental car on top of my car note I was told that the mechanic Sergio did not want to replace the timing belt on an engine with over 150,000 miles on it. So I was told I would have to pay for the engine. $500 down and the other $600 later. I was without a car and drowning financially because of the rental car on top of my other bills. I paid the $500 and deferred the rest of the payment and picked up my car.

    One week later the engine light is back on, the engine sounds loose and every time I turn the engine sounds like it is sliding and the temperature light comes on. The day after I borrowed the money to put a down payment on another car with a better company and left the POS car J.D. Byrider sold me at the dealership and instructed them to pick it up... which they still haven't. The car has been there for 5 days. They also have the nerve to tell me every time I call to inquire about them towing the car how this car will negatively affect my credit for the next 7 to 10 years.

    This company is by far the worst company you could EVER get a car from! Don't walk RUN away! Buy a car ANYWHERE ELSE I beg you! Save yourself the heartache and financial woe. I plan on filing a lawsuit against J.D. Byrider and if I had the spare time would stand outside for hours each day to boycott their company. CNAC is the finance company that partners with J.D. Byrider to get you financed and they even know J.D. Byrider is a joke and honestly hate the fact that they are partnered with such a disgusting company.

    The car I bought had structural damages that were undisclosed to me at the time of sale. One of the doors was bent by a crowbar prior to my purchasing it, and there is a gap through which air whistles and rainwater drips onto the seats. The people at the company are charging me 23% interest on a 2007 Hyundai, for a price of $11,000 originally, but by the time I pay it off I will have spent $20,000. The key to the car does not have a fob for remote unlocking. While I was waiting in the office for my car to be pulled around, an employee hovered over my shoulder and pressured me into going onto their website and leaving a 5-star review. I left the review because I felt threatened and uncomfortable, but I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to buy a car. They are predators and they will pounce on people who are out of options and desperate for a means of transportation.

I noticed that it look like it had been in a accident so I contacted service to make appointment along with other things that were wrong with the car and I also talked with the manager there and showed him what I saw and he gave me auto check and said they didn’t have any accidents and that they don’t sell cars that’s been in accidents. Well I did my own investigation on the car and I pulled a Carfax on the car and it showed that the car was in accident in 2017 and it was ran into a tree so do your investigation on the cars they sell because it could be a lie.     We bought a car from J.D. Byrider in West Dundee in December 2018. The sales process was very unprofessional and agonizing. The sales person sat at their desk with their shoes off the entire time we were there and texted on their phone during the process. We sat there for hours and even had to come back another day because the financing department kept printing out the paperwork for a different car that we were not even buying. The sales person also continues to text my cell phone very unprofessionally by just saying "Hey!" They keep trying to sell me another car and dont even realize we already just bought one.

    The finance department is so screwed up and rude it's ridiculous. When the plates came in they gave me plates to another car. Not the one we purchased. Also, our payment schedule is for every two weeks and they have taken the car payment out of my bank account every week thus far for the month of February and not even the right amounts (higher actually.) which has caused my bank account to have issues because we plan for the payments on the date of our schedule that they provided. When you call in they are rude. When you go in person they are rude. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Very disappointed!

    Let's start by stating the obvious. They prey on people with major credit issues. They then sell them a garbage vehicle, at double to triple its actual worth, at an interest rate that I'm surprised is legal. If you have issues, they tell you that their service department doesn't have a spot open for weeks. In my experience, I purchased a vehicle. On the day after Christmas, I had a major theft of my bank account. I notified them about this. I told them that I had to file a police report, and that I'd be more than happy to share that information with them. The guy on the phone said that I had to make a QuickPay payment, otherwise they could repo the vehicle. I told him that my bank account was frozen due to the amount that was taken out. Every other day I would call them to explain where the investigation was. They would then text me about the non-payments.

    Each time they would text, I would text back, and then call. Finally, I had access to another account, and made a payment. No sooner had I made the payment, they had sent a repo truck out and took the vehicle. I called them back to tell that they took the overdue payment, and that I wanted them to allow me to reclaim the vehicle. They refused. They said that since I was in the downpayment phase, that the car would no longer be available to me. So I went to my bank, and had them reverse the downpayment that I made. On top of that, I've been calling the repo company for weeks, and leaving messages so that I could pick up my property from them. Not one call back. I've called CNAC, and complained, and again, no one could seem to help me. At this point, I've gotten the police involved. I'm sure this will be some sort of issue where I'll have to get an attorney to take action. Stay away from JD Byrider and CNAC.

    I am hoping I have a better experience with this vehicle than I had with the first one. The first one had so many issue that I wanted to give it back...but because they were going to keep my down payment I had to stay with the car. When it would rain the transmission sensor would act up and I would have to pull over ** off the car to reset the sensor.     I bought an 03 Malibu. The sales were very nice and helpful. It's when you have to deal with service it gets tricky. Have had my car for a while and was very happy until major problems began happening. Before moving my car quit running. I had no choice but to have them come get it for repairs as I was starting a new job on a few days. I left on a Saturday. They did not even pick it up from former residence until the following Thursday. It was supposed to be Monday. They had it a month and said they could not find anything wrong. It had to be jumped to get it here. It was taken to a regular shop not theirs and they discovered the ignition switch was bad. 300$ for new switch and labor.

    Service said they would cover cost to send invoice. Have not gotten credit nor reimbursed. It is taken to an outside vendor as there is not a JD close. Long story short I have shelled out 800 plus in repairs that warranty was supposed to cover. Was told it would be and lo and behold I'm stuck. 93 point inspection? Right. Last repair was a water pump. Over 400 for that. There is a pulley that does not go on that car! It finally gave up. Took out water pump serpentine belt another pulley. First they said it was not an internal part so no warranty. Changed their minds and said sometimes they miss something. Really. Take it. Fix it. Right.

    Although I did purchase my vehicle thru JD Byrider my experience was unsatisfactory. I think it was very impersonal and often I was left stand or sitting for a long period of time. The person I was to meet with had to leave early and I had to meet with some else who really did not know what I was looking for. After finally deciding to purchase a vehicle and going thru paperwork I was told I had to do automatic withdrawal with my payments. But looking over my payments I notice, I had a choice. My vehicle has no car mats, no owner manual, and there is a small part in the trunk that goes to something and I have no idea to what. I ask about features on the car and was told to look at the sticker on the window.

    The overall experience was just not what I expected. It’s not my first car purchase. Also for some reason that has not been explained to me, my credit report was inquired 2x on two different days. I was approved on one day and two days later I noticed there was another inquiry in my credit report from the dealership and no one has explained the reason why to me. So although I did end up purchasing a vehicle, I was not happy with my overall time and experience with the dealership.

    Me and fiance' bought a car from J.D. Byrider in 2018. The salesman Donne ** sold us a car that is a piece of crap. The car bounces back and forth when driving and going over bumps. The service department keeps telling me that they can't do anything for 2 weeks and they keep continuing to say that me and my fiance' have put $700 of our in the car for the first 4 months that had the car. That's not cool at all with me or my fiance' and J.D. Byrider will not reimburse us for it.

    I am tired of the crap the excuses with J.D. Byrider. We are looking into suing J.D. Byrider and filing a lawsuit against Donne ** and the service department and the financing company because the car that Donne ** sold us is a flood car. It has been wrecked 3 bought at an auction repoed twice and brought back to J.D. Byrider in Florence Kentucky. So I'm tired of their BS AND I'm filing a lawsuit and suing the entire finance company the salesman Donne ** and the service department with J.D. Byrider.

    I was opportuned with an Infiniti EX35 with 135K miles at a price of 13,795 and the interest rate is 21% (with a co-signer that has credit of high 600’s.) They didn’t take into account my preferences. I said AWD, not full sized and not small. They offered me a Mercury Milan, a Toyota Camry, and an Avalon. I immediately told them those were fwd small vehicles and was told that I needed to put a thousand dollars down because my “stability” wasn’t high enough (not sure how.) They insisted on washing the car after I repeatedly told them not to, did not provide me with car fax information and did not tell me the service history of the car upon request.

    If it was not for my need to have a vehicle I would definitely have went elsewhere and hopefully I can stay away from that location and pay the car off in full well before my term is up. I am dissatisfied with how my deal was arranged at 412$ a month, but I understand it’s because of my non-existent credit. Although, with my mother co-signing for me, I shouldn’t have gotten a 21% APR. That is absolutely ridiculous and I will make sure to tell everyone I know NOT TO go to JD Biryder in Hermitage. Also, the salesman who did my deal, left before I was even able to drive the car off the lot. Very unprofessional and should not have happened. He did not mention leaving to us, we found out once we finished doing the E-Signing on all of the documents and went to find him. Once again, 0-10. I will never recommend anyone buy a car here, ever. I’ve seen better used car lots being functioned out of personal garages than this corporate establishment.

    This place is the worst!!! They'll run an application over the phone tell you to come in because your approved. When you get there they'll tell you, they calculated your monthly expenses and you don't make enough but then they offer there TAX PROGRAM. So basically you'll put down $500 cash on the spot or more, they will estimate how much your tax refund will be then make a deal with you that you must file your taxes by a certain date so they can get the rest of their down payment money of 1500-2000. Also your monthly payments will be $500 or more until you pay the big lump sum with your refund then your payments will go down to $300 a month so in reality your down payment ends up being 3000, for a car that isn't even that new.

    Also this is very important. If they allow you to drive off with the vehicle but wasn't able to verify your housing or something, or if they end up finding out that you have a balance on your rent they will take the car back doesn't matter if it was 1 day or 2 days and then tell you if the bank knew you had a balance you wouldn't of been approved. Luckily if they fell bad they might refund your money back that you put down. Smh. Very unprofessional, say anything just to get you in and get your money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Please run and don't look back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

    Magic Mike did great wonders helping me out with a car. I have a loan already and he still got me another one. He did everything that he could do to get this for me.     First they force you to buy a $1600 warranty deal then when you take your car in they refuse to fix it. Said they couldn't find anything wrong. Took it to a real mechanic and 5 minutes later told me it's the transmission going bad. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE CROOKS!

    Unfortunately the process took over 6 hours from the time we arrived to leaving with vehicle. And a few things we have to go back for the vehicle. No major issues. Pleasant employees. The video closing is a little redundant. But overall experience was good. I would refer friends and family to this establishment. Very happy we were able to get the vehicle we had our eyes on.     Purchased a car from their Durham Nc location. Had to bring car into shop after just 4 days. They kept the car for about 3-4 days. Missed work for them to tell me that the gas was low so it drained the battery which caused the battery to go dead as I was coming down a busy highway at 7 in the morning. Didn’t make not one payment on the car. Took it back within 30 days. Now I have a repossession on my credit. I’m beyond pissed with this company not to mention the car was a flood car.
