We were one day late on the payment, we work for our state and the state hasn't released our pay yet because of Christmas and people taking vacation, something that is absolutely out of my control. The people at the state office offered to talk to them, the woman I talked to, Crystal, didn't care. She insisted that her mother worked for the state and her mother worked on the 23rd, which I'm sure if her mom is a janitor, she probably did. She continually insulted my intelligence, but yet she herself was dumb enough to call from her cell phone. Oops. I will be returning my car and buying from a private seller. Let them sue me, I'm not really too worried about it.

I have been with them for 5 yrs now. I am on my second vehicle with them and the first time was no problem but this time, I called them and honestly told them that I am unable to pay any longer because of financial hardship. I also told them that I want to return the vehicle and be clear of it. I have never missed a payment and they told me that they will take me to court and garnish my wages and that it was not an option for me to return the vehicle willingly. I don't know what to do. I am stuck with a vehicle that I can't pay for or pay the insurance on but I was given a vehicle recently to replace it.I don' t believe I should be held accountable if I am willing to return the car.

I went to them for a car. I had been in hospital didn’t know if I could get a loan due to financial problems from all my operations and I barely has income. I went in hospital again and they continued to up finance charge the car; started out at 5900 or 6900. I can’t find my papers. They keep asking for them to send me new ones and they haven’t with their finance charge. I’m paying back 17,000. It should have been paid in February 2012.
Now I still owe 5800. I wasn’t that late on payments till the last 2 months. I had to move. My landlord lost his house. It keeps going up. I’ll never get it paid. No one wants to trade it (it’s a 2003 Mercury Sable) for what’s owed unless I have a few thousand to put down. It’s not fair to continually add to finance charge. It’s horrible. I’m still paying on a car that’s not worth even 2000 and I still owe 5900. I bought the car in April of 2008.

JD Byride Sales heaping piles of garbage! I purchased a vehicle from them on 10/12/11. It has been in their service department on three different occasions and now the transmission is gone out in less than 30 days of me purchasing the vehicle and giving them $1500. They have not returned my phone call or responded to my email. Please do not buy a car from these people!

My wife had seen this place driving down the road and she told me about it, it was new in the area so just figured we would go by there and check out their cars. Well, it started that we would need an appointment and I said well just forget it and he said, "I will work you in know" and I said, "that's fine just come in and see if you qualify" and I told him, "first let me see if there is anything on your lot that I would be interested in" and he just keep saying, "let's see if you qualify" and I keep telling him, "I am looking first." Finally, he says, "okay, should of took out of there the."
We had seen a SUV that we was interested in and went up to him and said, "I would like to get the keys and start of SUV" and he goes through his pitch, "let's see if you qualify" and I just looked at him and just about ready to tell him to stick it where the sun does not shine and he said that he will get them. He came back (Rickie ** in Miamisburg, OH) and handed me the keys and said don't leave without handing me the keys like I was his kid or something well anyways started it went inside and told him we might be interested in it so he hands me this form to write down some references on it so I did and told him I do not want him to call them just to try and sell a car to them. Next thing I know he pulls out this book and starts flipping pages like he was selling a vacuum something about we help people get a car that cannot go anywhere else and buy one.
I then told him; "you can put your book away I am here to buy a SUV for my wife." Finally, he took me into a room where they did financing and was asked several stupid questions and when she said we pick the car that is right for you. Well that was it I am done with this BS. So we took off and when we got into the car my wife said I could not believe he was watching porn on his computer when we pulled up and I said, if I would of know that we would of not even walked another step we would of took off.
Well anyways we went down to a dealer and bought a car paid cash and ever since then I have heard from everyone that I had put down as a reference that they have been harassing them I have called and got there voice mail with message after message to tell them to stop calling my friends and family, they have started emailing me telling me come back in and I have tried several times to stop emailing me through there where it says opt out from receiving email. Nothing has worked. So today guess what comes in the mail a letter from them trying to get me back in there, they have no idea in how to run a business and for the people they hire well I thing you get the ** picture. I would never go back there let alone turn around in there parking lot. I suggest stay away there is other places to buy a car then there. Good luck

I will never ever buy a car from here again. They are rude, obnoxious, arrogant, and have no type of good customer service what so ever! They harass you when your payment is due instead of waiting for the call. I had so many incidents with them to the point where I am disgusted. They want to argue with you instead of looking up stuff in their system. What happened to "the customer is right?". Do not tell me you are not going to fix the situation that you f** up. That's not my fault that you guys are acting trifling just to prove a point!

I took my son to this dealership on 09/13/2011. He gave them all the information they asked for. They asked him if he had a down payment and we were very stern in saying no, and that was why we had gone there. We were told the process would take 3 to 4 hours to get him driving away with a car. We were unable to wait that long. We scheduled an appointment to go back after explaining to this woman that we live over an hour away that I do not want to waste time or gas to go down for him to be turned down.
She said, "oh no, we can get him driving in a vehicle". We went back down today, 09/19/11, she made copies of everything, sent him to speak to a finance specialist that took all but 10 minutes. He was sent back over to speak with the salesperson only to be told he needed $500.00 for a down payment! She said his bills going out and income coming in left him with very little to make a car payment and insurance. **! But yet, let him take his bill money and rent money to make a down payment they said he would not need! They got his hopes up only to shoot him down! She told him that when he came up with the money, to call her and she would keep his information on file. She can shove that up her ** because after reading all these comments, I would never let him get a car through there! J.D. Byride, you lied!

I am a returning customer. You think I would have learned from my first bad experience, but I was desperate and needed a car asap so I went back to them. The customer service was great and I was convinced that I was making the right decision and I would have a better experience than before. I purchased a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica 8/2011, very nice car as I thought. I started having problems the moment I drove it off the lot. I thought I heard and felt a knocking from the front wheels but wasn't sure at the time I was test driving it because the salesman was talking through the whole ride; I believe just so I wouldn't hear it.
Once I got it home the next following week, I took it in for service for the knocking and all they told me they did was greased something and tighten it up. Plus, I was asking why can't I open my sunroof and the service manager told me it's not going to open because it has been sealed. I was like "What the **!". I was never informed of this before I purchased the car. I love my sunroof open most of the time but they killed that joy. I am a traveling nurse and was out of town when things really got worse. The car started shaking real bad, engine light on and car went to stalling and jerking on my way to work. It cost me a day of pay "I was pissed!".
Then it broke down on the freeway. I called JD Byrider immediately and told them what just happened and was told to take it to the nearest service center for them which would be in St. Peter or Jacksonville. Either would've been nice but I was in Orlando and the car wouldn't even go in the city and they expected me to drive it 3-4 hrs away. So I was told to take it to any shop in Orlando to get it checked out and call him. So I took it to Pep Boys and got it diagnosed and it was my throttle/censor and tire rods and a couple other parts that needed to be replaced. The gentlemen at PB's called Ben at JDByrider and told him the problem and Ben told him to put used parts on the car and PB told him "No, we don't do that here". JDByrider told him to only replace the throttle censor so that still left me with the other problem with the tire rods they wouldn't fix.
Let me remind you that JDByrider credit card had been declined so PB had to call the Service Manager back to get a valid card and the cost was only $300. Now a week gone by and the problem is still there and getting worse. Engine light back on and now I believe I'm having transmission problems as well. I called Ben back at JDByrider about the situation and what are they gonna do about fixing my car and he acted like he had no clue about what I was talking about. I should not be going through all of this with a vehicle I've only had for about 6 weeks and never been late on any payment. I will be taking this to the next level and that is to contact the DMV Bureau and trust me people, they are on the consumers' side. I've had to call them a few times before with my bad judgment in car lots. But I won my cases.

I was a day late on my bi-weekly payment. I started receiving harassing phone calls and threats regarding the payment. I was advised that they do not offer a grace period and that they would not extend my due date. I explained that I had recently paid tuition for 3 college students. I said I would be back on track next week. I was advised to make the payment asap or they would come and repossess the vehicle. Needless to say, I don't have the money until I get paid again next week. Therefore, they can try and steal it out of my garage. The scare tactics are ridiculous and childish.
I call them every other week and faithfully make my payment, with the exception of a couple of extenuating circumstances. And since this is a bi-weekly payment, you would think they would have a little more leeway. They don't! I cannot wait until this car is paid in full! Not only that, but they started calling all of my references and asking them to have me call in, as if I had been avoiding their calls! I was in Dallas, TX taking my daughter to college. Not only did I not have reception, but they were not at the forefront of my mind.

I got a car through JD Byrider. The first car I got was a Grand-Am. It was in the shop every couple of weeks due to electrical problems. The problem was never fixed but the car got into an accident and it was totaled. Then I got a Buick through them. Here we go with electrical problems again. I have had this car for over 2 years and it has been at the shop multiple times. I could not drive the car for months due to the car saying "I was an unknown driver" so it would not start.
Finally, I brought it to the shop again and they fixed the car. Well, they said they fixed the car and it cost me almost 300 dollars. I had to bring the car back 2 days later. I told the mechanic, "how could you give me back my car knowing it was not fixed right?". He told me he was under the assumption that I only wanted him to get the car started due to my budget. I was very upset. So after that conversation, they kept the car for about a week. Now it cost me almost 500 dollars. The mechanic told me he fully went through my car and after having these things fixed, my car would be in tip-top shape.
This is not the case. I drove the car one day, now it is sputtering like it is going to stall. The service engine light is on again and it makes noise. This is getting ridiculous and I do not know what else to do. I am a single mother of 4 children and works a full-time job which I am on call at all times. I would really like some advice on what to do now. I am at my wits' end. I forgot to mention that I still pay a car payment for this car which even though I could not drive the car, I always pay.

I have taken this vehicle back a total of 12 times and they cannot seem to get it right. On May 3, 2010, my daughter and I went out to purchase a vehicle. We stopped at another dealer and then we saw JD Byrider and as we was pulling up Mr. **** asked us to come in because they have a better deal. I was impressed about the warranty and the vehicle that I brought. My daughter drove the car around and it drove okay except for the windshield wipers. I asked them about the wipers and he said they looked at them and they were okay when didn't see anything visually and didn't really feel anything at the time. My daughter brought me home, as she was the driver for me. I had a surgery on my right knee and couldn't drive. The van sat for about a couple of days.
My friend Angie came and took me to the doctor and she kept the van for a week. May 15, 2010, the first time it rain, we were coming from Rock Hill and the windshield wipers cramped up and flew off the van. It scratched marks all on the window. We couldn't see. I had to call Customer Service about that. During this same time, she detected some problems, wipers again, power steering wheel, brake was hard to pump and gas excels too much, transmission was pulling when turning the wheel, it has hesitation like it want to cut off, has a hissing noise like a balloon loosing air, driver side sliding door sometimes will open auto and most of the time, you have to pull the door open, passenger window didn't work most of the time, no air condition and the spark plugs.
In the same month, Dawn and I were going out and the window on the right side wouldn't go up, it was raining and I got real wet. We drove the car to JD Byrider and asked to get the window fixed. I spoke with Mr. **** and he said if they can't fix my car, he would make sure I get another one. The service manager said for me to bang on the side on the door and it would make the window move. I told him I am not going to do that. So he said he would lift the window and bring it in on Monday, May 17. So Mr. **** said they weren't going to give me another car. I could take half the money back and they take the car. I told him all the money or give me another car. He had nothing to do with giving me and exchange. Mr. **** said what are they supposed to do, let me jump in front of everybody because my window isn't working. I said fix it and all the rest of the problems that this car had when you sold it to me or give me all my money back and we can jump in front of that.
The story about the window is simple but it never got fixed until July 28, 2010. We have been taking this car back every month up to July, the only thing JD Byrider fixed was the repair for the third time for the wiper blades and they said they were going to fix the window that got scratched up and the motor for the passenger side door and in August 6, 2010, I finally got the air condition working. All summer long I sweated, heat exhaust and sickness with cold. Now, I still have all those other problems to give fixed and now I am dealing with no heat for the cold weather. I didn't have air condition for the summer months and now I don't have heat for the winter months. I was taking them to court. I had a date for November 16, 2010. I been asking all around in JD Byrider who is owner of this company and they said JD Byrider.
So when I went to court the female judge said I had a strong case but I had three major mistakes and she doesn’t know how many I may have had in the letter. First all of my information came from the clerk at Small Claim Area I didn't know. She said I didn't have the amount I was asking, it can't be a lemon car and I had the wrong name to file the claim against. She never let me say not one word and told me she couldn't hear my case. I lost $84. Since it got cold and I was trying to use my heat, I realized I have no heat.
So I called in November around thanksgiving to get the oil changed and to check the heat. You have to call **** to make all your appointments. I usually get Laurie and she informed me that my heater core is included in my warranty but when I got the oil changed, they didn't check my heat. So I called again week of December 1, about the heat again then again the same week and this time, I call the Customer Service and they said someone will get back with me and it has been 13 days. It is getting colder and colder outside. I do have my written reports.

I was promised the repairs on my car would be done free of charge. The initial complaint was the car shaking as I am going down the road. The car has been at the Lafayette store four times and it's still there because they want me to pay for it now. Over a period of 4 months or so, I have not had the car, but still making payments. At one point, I was told by Lee, the manager, that he would personally make sure I was taken care of, and that he would have a rental car on the lot the next day if my car is still having issues.
That was a lie and when called out about the rental car, Lee denied saying that. I have a witness that was standing there. I am still waiting for the phone call to get this resolved. I've lost my job due to their lies. Furthermore, I may get sued for not completing my contract work. CNAC loan company was supposed to call me back also. Now I am sitting 30 miles from my car that I paid $10,000.00 for 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. How is this building my credit?

They told me that if I made my payments regularly for 18 months, I could trade it in on one that I wanted. I agreed and made my payments without fail every two weeks. In fact, for the last 6 months, I have made my payments a few days early every two weeks. Now that I am coming to the end of the 18 months, I called them to see what needs to be done to trade it in. I was then told by Mike that the 18 months is only if the balance of the vehicle is under $2,500 and the balance on mine is $7,800.
However, once I get the balance down, they will be happy to take the vehicle as a trade-in. So now that the vehicle has no warranty left, I am being given another story. Buyer Beware! If you do not get exactly what you want, go somewhere else. Nobody should ever be forced to buy something they don't want based on the lies of the sales person. JD Byrider has proven to me they are like every other sleazy dealership found in every town across this land. There are reputable dealerships out there that will be happy to sell you a clean used car. I scheduled an appointment for my car to be serviced, the problem was an ongoing problem from 2009 that they claimed nothing was wrong. I went to Maryland for personal reasons and in two different places where I received oil changes, concerning the oil pan gasket. I called J.D. Byrider and spoke with Don (Service Manager and JR General Manager and Corporate), at which time, I asked if there were dealers in Baltimore but to no avail. Upon my arrival back to Georgia on 6/2010, I scheduled an appointment for July 14, 2010 at 8:30 am. I arrived a little late due to Atlanta traffic. Lisa (Service Rep) went over the list of repairs (ticking in engine, oil pan gasket concern, thudding noise when stopping, right turn signal bulb always burning out).
On July 14, 2010, Lisa called me and gave me the list of repairs needed and covered but informed me that the manager, Don, would call me in the morning to to no avail. Around 4:00 pm, July 15, 2010, I called the corporate to inform them of my concerns and then I also called Don. At which point, Don had all the excuses in the world as to why he didn't follow through. He went over the list again with me and was going to see how long before it would be completed. Don assured me that my car would be ready by July 16, 2010--late afternoon. I told Don that I was unemployed and had an interview on Friday and even though they do not give loaner cars, if they could make an exception.
He told me no, they couldn't give me a loaner and I told him (and corporate to document) that at such late notice, I had no one to take me to interview. If I had to rent a car, it would be deducted from my car payment. Don never called on July 16th, I tried to call the Service Center twice to see if my car would be ready by Friday evening and no one answered or returned the calls I left on their voice mail.
Usually, CNAC (finance) company do a courtesy call on the day of car payment around 6:00 pm, but not this day. Shaun ** (CNAC) called around 9:00 pm and left a voice mail stating that my car was ready and I could come get Saturday morning. I called Shaun Saturday morning at which time I voiced my concerns, telling them that had the parts not been covered and I was a paying customer, the car would have been done. Why didn't service contact me? And it's only because I said I would not pay my note that all of a sudden, my car was ready. I went to the dealership around 10:00 am to pick up the car. At that time, there were wires hanging and they said that a clip was missing but I could get another on Monday.
On Sunday, my car overheated and the gauge light came on. My boyfriend and sales rep from Advanced Auto stated that there was no antifreeze. I had never had this problem prior to them working on the car, so I left message for Shaun ** and to date (July 21st), I still have not heard from him. Corporate customer service called Monday trying to justify actions and said to bring the car in and I informed them again that I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and Tuesday and a Wednesday interview which I could not miss out because they couldn't afford a paying customer a loaner and I would call them when appropriate for me.
On Monday, a rep from J.D. Byrider named Jeff called but left no last name or callback. Assuming that he was from service, I left him a message on Tuesday, July 19th, and no one has contacted me to date, July21st. The unprofessionalism, follow through is not customer service oriented as it should be considering that it is the focal point of their jobs and the reason why they are employed. I think that because they deal with people with not so good credit, they think they can treat individuals in any way.
Give me any feedback on my next steps as the car is still overheating. I cannot drive too far and I cannot afford for them to have my car for three days again. The original work done was: timing belt, oil change, oil pan gasket, transmission pan, and checked right blinker and gaskets which I know does not take three days per a family mechanic.

I purchased a 2001 ford focus from J.D. Byrider in May 2009 after totaling my 2001 Taurus on Mother’s Day. I explained to the salesperson that I had a major issue with my Taurus always being serviced and would not purchase with them if they could not guarantee I was getting a quality vehicle. He explained that they put over $2,000 of work into each car before it goes on the lot and that I had nothing to worry about.
After paying way too much for a super small, downgrade of a vehicle, I've been in their service center a minimum of once a month since. The only good part is that everything, so far, has been covered under warranty except the time I've spent sitting on my only day off each week in their waiting area with my baby. I believe I was taken advantage of and now stuck with a lemon with a warranty that's about to run out and I'm sure more problems to come and many more payments to make. I'm on the verge of letting them come repo it. I regret everyday that I ever even went in and spoke to someone there. I'd take it back and ride the bus if I had to if I knew what I was getting myself into by dealing with them.

i purchased a car from these because of a financial crisis in my life. I thought I had a car that would last the term of the loan (3 years). Boy, was I wrong. I also thought I had a warranty of some kind to protect me in the unlikely event a mechanical breakdown should occur. Wrong again. The end result is I had to take these sorry ** to court myself.
In the federal court, this case was dismissed by the judge after 1 year and 2 months, because I was one day late in filing a pleading. So I refiled the case. I will not stop until I get my money back and these are out of business. The attorney general's office is worthless. They told me they do not handle single complaints. I found out later that they have received a plethora of complaints about t his company and its franchises. All this is in the federal lawsuit I filed in West Palm Beach. The attorney firm they use is very slick as well. They only argued procedure, never addressing any issue in the litigation. That's okay. However, I've now made this a Rico Case and filed a formal criminal complaint with the FBI.

I left the car in the morning and picked up that night. I wasn't able to talk to service dept. but on my way home I noticed a shimmy in the front.
According 2 the notes on the bill they replaced the brakes and fixed the leak. They also noted they had 2 order a new oil pan. The next day I came out 2 a flat tire. When I removed the tire, I found the rim had been dented and after further inspection I also found damage 2 the lower panel. The car wasn't like that when I brought in there. When I asked about it, I got blank stares. Places like this that say they can help and don't should be put out of business.

I called the very next day and asked for my account number and these clowns are going to say they would not accept my payment. The thing about that is that I have to work to get a car note right, but these clowns won't accept my payment. I had to pay an extra $75 on top of my payment for them to call off the recovery. I have sat in the service dept. at one time every Friday. I took the car in to have it inspected and they told me that I needed brake drums in order to pass inspection. I agree with everyone else. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to buy a car from them. I think too much of anyone to send them to a place like this. really think I got a car that has been in flood Katrina.
The trouble that I have had with this car is not normal, wheel bearing going out all the time, car breaking down anytime, and then you pay at five times what the car is worth. It takes a lot of time and money to get a good car. Then they tell you that you better not be a day late or they will repossess the car but when they are closed, the late payment goes on your credit as bad so tell me, what kind of place is this? With car dealerships going out of business for being good, how will they investigate the bad ones, the ones that are making a lot of money, preying on people who try hard to make a living and get caught up, with these people who tell you that they will help you get your credit straight and they use you for their good?

Please do not go through JD Byrider. They want you to think they are really helping you out, especially if you have medium to low credit. After putting down some of our down payment, we test drove the car. They told us we could have and we heard a knocking noise. The service department was closed at that time and she said to bring it back on Monday and they would fix it. We did that. While driving it home, we heard the noise again and then a different noise as well. We brought it back again.
At this point, we had been financing the car for 11 days and had driven it to work for 1 day (the others had been spent at their shop). Then, the front bumper started falling off the car and they thought we had crashed (funny, considering now we had driven the car for 2 days out of a possible 16). We brought it back again and then the "check engine" light comes on. I call them and they say there's nothing that can be done (it was New Year's Eve) and to call back after the Holiday. While driving our friend to the airport, the car all of a sudden let out a big boom and jolted forward, making it feel and sound like we had just been rear-ended. We look and the check engine light goes off.
Frustrated, confused and concerned because we had signed a 3 year finance agreement which would cause us to pay more than 3 times the value of the car's worth, we heard the same knocking again and now it felt like the back axle was about to fall off. I called them back the Monday after the holiday, told them that I'm returning the car and I want out of the contract. They let me out of it, especially since I hadn't even made my 1st payment to them. I told them that I didn't trust their service department and I wanted nothing to do with them.
Whatever you do, do not go through this company. You will end up paying for it in the long run. There will be somebody willing to help you get a car, regardless of your credit and financial situation. Trust me. I've been there; you just have to be patient. Just do not go through this company.

I have been dealing with CNAC and JD Byrider for the last 5 years. The first problem we had was a vehicle that they sold us that had a list of electrical problems which they stated it did not have. Unfortunately, the vehicle was totaled in a car accident. JD Byrider forced us into another vehicle which by the way was listed cheaper than the original one we purchased with only 44, 000 miles on the car. But by the time all was said and done, we ended up spending more than $28,000 for a 1998 Buick Lesabre which apparently was a flooded vehicle that JD Byrider sold which was involved in the hurricane Katrina storms.
I have had numerous problems with the vehicle. We replaced alternators, starters, tensioner belts, fuel pumps. Not to mention, it have electrical problems as well. Back in 2009, we had a problem with the vehicle cutting off and not starting, I contacted JD Byrider and was told to bring the vehicle and I could not due to it not starting so we had to spend $289 for towing.
Upon JD Byrider looking at the vehicle, they have determined that the heads were cracked on the engine, (we still cannot understand why when the car only had 44, 000 miles on it) and they stated that they will repair the problem by overhauling the engine. But in reality, they only blew out the engine and did a temporary fix, They had the car approximately 3 days and charged me another $279.86 for labor (they stated that the vehicle warranty just ran out at the time of the repair).
Since that time we have continued to have problems with the vehicle and every time we tried to contact JD Byrider, the phone numbers were temporarily out of service. The car lots have been closed and we have been given the runaround. But, it is so ironic;they know how to be available when they cannot receive a payment.
Now to bring it up to speed, the vehicle finally died, in need of a whole complete engine. Apparently antifreeze have been backing up from the radiator to the motor. The motor has cracked heads, gaskets and much more wrong. I finally dug around enough to find a person to contact who is located in Chamblee GA (the only JD Byrider around now, why is that?). I explained to him what have been the issues with the vehicle and JD Byrider and he tried to find my vehicle repairs in his PC system and stated that it did show repairs done to my vehicle since March 2007 which was completely untrue.
He stated that the person that I gave my vehicle to at JD Byrider was known within JD Byrider and CNAC to be a scam job and that he was no longer with the company, (as if that had anything to do with me, their employee their responsibility). He also tried to sound compassionate and stated to allow him to correct the problem (because I threatened to take this public to the news, radio, etc.) and stated he can repair the car for $39 per hour for labor plus parts which I feel is not acceptable.
I started digging around and found vehicle reports,a total of 34 of them on my vehicle alone and on one of them it was listed being salvaged due to flood. (in reality it was not salvaged, or either JD Byrider sold it anyway). I decided to look at my vehicle to see if I can spot flood damage, and wow, was my finding surprising. Molded carpet padding was under the carpet inside the car and in the trunk, pine straw and dirt was also evident and you can see rust on every piece of metal in the bottom of the car and trunk.
I informed JD Byrider of this and was told that the vehicle reports were wrong (which I seriously doubt). I also have filed BBB complaints. I have had several certified mechanics to look at the vehicle and stated that it was a flooded vehicle and said that was the reason why we had so many problems with the car and stated that is why the car had low mileage. End result, I ended up paying over $28,000 to JD Byrider for a vehicle of Bluebook and retail value of $3,333. The engine is completely gone and due to lack of funds, I cannot afford to purchase another vehicle nor rent a vehicle and this may cost my husband his job. He works more than 26 miles away from home and this is the main source of transportation and public assistance does not run in Braselton GA. Not to mention JD Byrider still wants their payments.

Since I have had the car, it has never gone a month without being towed back to them for issues mostly related to car cutting off, overheating and smoking. In summer of 2009, the car was towed 4 times from my job in less than 19 days. I'm sure the tow truck company has records of how many times my car has been picked up and it definitely does not match up with the records that JD Byrider has on file for when and what was serviced on my car. I was told that my engine was replaced and on more than one occasion, gaskets were replaced as well. I was to believe that new parts were being put in my car but to my understanding from several auto repairs, my parts are faulty and some even had tape on them.
Unfortunately, I don't have any records of when the car was serviced because I was never given paperwork for what was done. I was told that I wasn't supposed to receive any paperwork while I was still under warranty. My car was serviced far more often and kept many more days than what is listed on this report. My car rental receipts can show that. I stopped driving the car completely in June of 2009 because it kept smoking inside of the car and my daughter's asthma was getting worst. I gave up on JD Byrider! Every time I made a payment or got a follow-up call, I let it be known to them where the car was and why I wasn't driving it. I parked the car at my mother's home. I still continued making payments and to this day, I have never missed or been late.
My mom started driving the car a few months ago and has problem after problem. I finally decided to let them look at the car again and I was told by CNAC employees that Mike would have no problem fixing on the car. Their exact words were "Please give us a chance to show you we really care, bring the car in and let us see what we can do". Mike supposedly changed some belts which have already proved faulty by the Chevrolet dealership we took it to. When we got the car back, the trunk wouldn't pop. My mom and dad went down to see about it and at that time, told Mike about the rest of the problems the car was having. Mike then said the gaskets yet again needed to be replaced. His records clearly show that he has already replaced the gaskets therefore meaning that he did not fix them or he didn't fix them correctly while I was still under warranty.
I was sold on this car because I was told that I would have a good condition car that went through a huge inspection before being sold and that I would be covered under warranty even if my engine fall out. I was told that if any real problems would exist in a car, it would happen the first 30 days. My car didn't even last 30 hours. I was coaxed into thinking that they were going out of their way for me and Mike was so nice at first saying that he had his best guys on it every time I called to check on my car. It's ridiculous how much I am paying for this car and the fact that it probably won't even last until I finish paying it off really gets to me, especially in this economy. I just want them to fix the car permanently instead of temporarily because it's costing us all time and money or they could call it even, take their car back and let me be finished.
I've already paid over $7000 for the car and it's not even worth it. I've lost more time out of work and more money than it would cost them to have put better parts in my car. They have been taping and gluing my car up as if it is a kindergarten project and my family depends on that extra car now. I know for a fact that they have not been working on the cars like they're supposed to from an actual employee whom has 2 cars from them. They should be ashamed! I wish I would've done some research on this company. There is no way in this world that every customer of theirs all over the US has had the exact same issues over and over again. And the worst thing is that you sign your life over to them and in return, you're supposed to be fixing your credit and bettering your family's life. How can I do that when I'm paying $14,000 for a car that is worth less than $1000 that can be driven?

I haven't had a car since then or have driven any motor vehicle. The reason being is because I have no license, I did three years ago though. Since the return of the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire which I seen fit to have since I have a family to take care of and that was my only transportation then and vehicle was too expensive to carry on at that time. Let’s put it this way what has happened since I purchased this lemon of a car, first of all, the harassment that I got over the years. They would call me every week harassing me for my car payment which I have never been late more than a day if that. Then comes all the times that I had to take my car over to them just so they could put a band-aid on what was broken. Later, I found out that their warranty system was that they use used parts from the junk yard. The one time I was in there, I over heard someone from the garage talking with management to do what ever he had to do just to get the car out of their garage. The latest thing was, I was at the rear end and have been out of work for 3 weeks.
Do you think they could work with me until I get back on my feet and get back to work? But the only thing they would do is give me 2 days and that’s all or they will repossess my car. In closing, I have had nothing but trouble let alone, the price in which I’m paying for this car, I probably could have bought 2 or 3 cars. As time went on, the car developed other issues. But the biggest issue up to date is the engine. At times, the car would shut off while sitting at a light; and then, there was a time where it wouldn't start at all. It is very frustrating, because I am still paying on this car and I don't want to be stuck with a vehicle that I can't drive. I have a child, so I don't feel comfortable even having my child in the vehicle. I work late nights, and there have been times when coming home, my car was stalling or the engine keeps knocking. It is a very unsafe and uneasy feeling.
I just went to my mechanic to have the vehicle checked out, and his exact words were that it was not to be repaired and that the engine was going to blow up (meaning, it will die on me very soon, which is why the car keep cutting off on me.). I tried many times to work something out with them, but they refused. But they want me to continue to pay for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive, and they just inspected the car this past March. They passed it when it wasn't supposed to have been passed at all. I really can't afford to get another car and pay for this vehicle. I shouldn't be responsible for making these payments, when they are not doing their jobs by providing me with a working vehicle.

My car was taken to J.D. Byrider on June 8. I received a call on Tuesday that the engine needed to be replaced and that it's covered under warranty. Then I got a call on Friday, the 12th, from David that I need a catalyst converter and a radiator. David called me back, stating he had good news that it's not the converter and that the radiator was clogged so bad that it needs to be replaced. I asked him if it could be flushed. I was told no. I also asked if it could be replaced from the salvage place where the engine came from. David told me no and that it had to be replaced with a new one. I was told about the radiator, after the engine was put in and test-driven on Friday.
David told me to call the finance department, so payment arrangements could be made on what I owe because the radiator wasn't covered under the warranty. I spoke with Nisshon today, June 15, several times before he told me to come in and pay $100 and they would add $37. I don't remember the change of amount.
When I got there, Nisshon told me to pay the cashier and then come into the office to sign the paperwork. Before I did that, I went out to the car looking inside, cranking it, and looking under the hood alone with the lady who was with me. I was asking questions. The finance man said he couldn't answer. His response was he's just the finance person and that I've got to talk to David. He tried calling him, but there's no answer.
I asked to see the bill. Nothing was on the bill, except "needs radiator before she drives this car home." There was a price of a radiator cap for $6.09. Because the engine was under warranty, my co-pay is $26.75. I can fax you a copy of the bill I got from Nisshon before leaving.
Just to mention, before my son-in-law towed the car and prior to it breaking down, you could see the water circulating through the radiator. On the bill, it doesn't state the price for a radiator nor a warranty, nothing with mileage or warranty for engine. Please help. My husband have been in and out of the hospital since November last year, and he have been in there now for the last past 4 months on a ventilator. It's my only transportation, and I'm having problems getting back and forth to see my husband.

I am currently looking for a car. Thanks to J.D. Byrider, my credit is shot and I can't get anything financed. This is what happened to me. I went to J.D. Byrider, because I needed a car and I didn't have much of a downpayment to give for a car. I saw an ad for them, and I decided to give them a call. I talked to the salesman, and he assured me that he would help me get a car. I went to the dealership to apply for a loan. I was accepted and was given the keys to a 1999 Dodge.
The first day I got the car, it started making noises. So I took it back. They said they would fix it and have it ready for me in 3 days. But it took them almost two weeks. I called many times and asked about it. All they told me was that they needed more time to get a certain part for the car. They were taking too long, so I decide to take a bus down to the dealer.
When I got there, I saw my car on the lot, ready to be sold again. I couldn't believe it. I went inside and asked for management, if you could even call them that. He was very unhelpful; all he would say was "Talk to the salesman. I can't help you; my hands are tied behind my back!" On top of all that, they wanted me to pay for the entire time they had the car in the shop, when before everything, they had told me I wouldn't have to pay since I never really had the car.
Upset as I could possibly be, I told them "Keep the car. I am not paying you a dime." Aside form the bad service and outrageous prices, this place is terrible; they rip people off, and they take advantage of people and the hard times people fall into. I hope that our voices are heard, and J.D. Byrider gets shut down for good!

I got 2005 Taurus Wagon, put in all info and told me I was approved. I gave them like 20 references and contacts. I was told that all would have to be checked before I could get the car. They made me put out my account number for the upfront cost of full coverage insurance. Then they said, "Oh, yes it is only $14 down!". Wow, I was in luck. Well then after taking off work to pick up my dream car, the payments were crazy plus they wanted to have an additional $700 for the down payment. What happened to the $14 bucks? Okay, well I loved the car. I spoke to them and they told me "okay, no problem. You will not have to pay the $700 on deferred payment before you get the car". Sweet! On my side again.
I got to get the car on May 27, took off work, excited and got there. The deal is busted again. I had to sign for it, for the deferred payments again but no more upfront. Plus some problems I reported were still not fixed since my test drive a week before. I took it home and drove it for 5 days. On June 2nd, my landlord and I got into some issues about my rent. Well the car started dying while I was driving it. I took it back, plus the old problems making louder noise. They called me the day after I dropped it off and they said "oh sorry, it needs a new catalytic converter" which would be fix for free since I reported it before I drove it off the lot. They called me 4 days later and explained that the part could not be ordered from their old parts carrier so they had to order from someone else and their order was cancelled. Oh, sad. So they ordered another one on Thursday, the 4th of June.
They called me on Monday the 8th of June and told me that they called my landlord and since my landlord said I am being evicted, they will be retaining my car and I will still be liable for the vehicle. Are these people completely nuts or what? I really cannot understand how they can do this. It is a shame that such a company can even exist. I will not pay for this car. My next step is the local television stations. I will file bankruptcy on this if I must, but I will not give them a dime. I am just glad I did not sell my 1996 Accent before they screwed me on this car! It is a shame. I really like the car and the people there. JD Byrider, you have really built up a good team of crooks! I can say that a guy by the name of Maxx was a good guy and pulled no punches. I guess it is my fault, but when a big company promises you something, you should feel good inside and not have to be frightened of accepting a good deal! Yes, good deal. I am sure I will now be sued for a car I do not possess and was never repossessed. Explain that to me.

My car has no alarm but the theft system continues to activate which disables me from using the car at all. This has happened to me twice and I had to have the vehicle towed and repaired twice which cost me $350 each time and I would have to pay the car note which I feel is very unfair due to the fact that I am financing the vehicle from J.D. Byrider. I am current with my payment. When I first started financing the vehicle, there was never any alarm system. This is the third time I had this problem. They promised me that they would fix the problem. Then when I had the car towed to them, they changed their story and told me it was my problem and if I wanted it fixed that I would have to have the car towed to a Chevy dealership where I would have to pay for labor at $90 and the cost of correcting the problem for the car. I was advised by Jason that it would be very costly. Currently, the car is back on J.D. Byrider Property and I feel as why should I make a car payment for a vehicle that I don't have and secondly, I can't use due to the car constantly malfunctioning. They are threatening to continue payment for the car or they are going to have my wages garnished. I no longer can drive to and from work anymore.

I called and said I had to pay the payment of $180 on 6/12/09. They now have $11000 of mine. Collections called and said I need to go to JD Byrider to talk to Manny about my late payment. It turns out since I can't pay the payment on time, they kept the SUV and my money of $1100. They said to collect my belongings from the vehicle and there I was in there parking lot with my daughter, stranded and in disbelief. I now have to find another car and I don't have the downpayment. When they first called me to tell me my car was fixed, they only fixed the front wheel bearings and not the other issues with my car. Two days later, they called me to say my car is ready to pick up and even though one of the parts wasn't under warranty, they fixed it anyway. So I get in my car and it will not start so I had to get a jump.
I turn on the heater but it does not work. They did not fix the blower which they said they did. Also my car starts to sputter the next day which they said they fixed that part also. I looked under the hood of my car and they put electrical tape on a spark plug wire instead of replacing it. I paid for repairs on my car that were not done and Mike told me they were done. Something needs to be done. This is so unfair.

From the beginning, I've had problems with the car JD Byrider sold me! Within the first two weeks, I had to take the car back because the transmission went out on me. After that, it has been the brakes. I have never had a car that has to have the brakes replaced every two to three months. Now that my warranty has expired and I have to pay full price for any work that they do, I have to look to other places to get my brakes done because of what they charge. I've been to two Just Brakes in the Tampa area and two other places to get my brakes done, and no one will fix them because my brake system is contaminated and it has been that way for a while.
I've tried to let JD Byrider know, but all they keep telling me is that it's normal wear and tear on the car. Then they want to charge me just to look at it! I don't have extra money lying around for all that, and the car was like that every time they fixed my brakes and master cylinder. I was told it would cost me over 1400 dollars just to fix the problem. Now, if I had that type of money, I'd have a car with no car payments! Another thing is, the car had over 100,000 miles on it from the beginning! CNAC does not mind harassing you for the money, the $13,000 that they have so smoothly overcharged me for.

I bought this car on the idea that I would improve my credit. That's what they say in their ad, "Good cars for people with bad credit." Yet it should be, "We'll sell you a car just to see how much abuse you can take." I happened to get a better deal than most, considering all the consumers that have already complained. My car has only broken down once and I replaced the radiator myself. You see, first thing I noticed was the front end had markings on the frame of a part that was from a junkyard. That is when I realized something else when my fan belt broke. I thought I bought a six cylinder, yet the belt I bought did not fit. It was actually a four cylinder. I accept full responsibility for this since I never counted the spark plugs.
Anyway, my real problems started from the first time I was a day late (over a year of on-time payments). The reason was I was laid off because of work slowing, yet I started a side job. This side job I was working on wouldn't be finished until Sunday and I would be able to pay them on Monday, instead of Friday (my regular day for direct payment from my bank account) which I canceled the day I was let go. I called CNAC and let them know I would be getting a check on Monday. On Saturday, half the people that I used as references called me and stated that CNAC was looking for me and I missed my car payment. Six family and friends for one day late! This was after I called and let them know my circumstances. This happened every time I was a day late, regardless if I call in or not.
I've begged to stop calling other people and they stated, "You signed that a day late, we can take your car back and call these people anytime this happened." Harassment is a light word for the way these people work. I've been dealing with this for three years and just recently, past the halfway mark for the amount I have to pay for this car, I paid $11,000 for this car. $180.00 every two weeks - that's worth maybe $2,000 now and I still owe $5,500. Trying to get your credit status upgraded by this company is not only a joke; it's humiliating and the lack of respect, degrading you to all the people you know (you have to list 12 people's names, addresses and numbers to CNAC just to get through the financing part of buying the car (that's all the people I know by the way).
Never working with you. I'm convinced they make money somehow by repossessing these vehicles. I still make these payments out of spite just to not let them ruin my credit completely. This purchase has to be the worst mistake of my financial life. They could care less who they hurt or step on in your family to get their money. I'm just barely holding on in this economy and to have this added stress of your worst nightmare of someone to owe money too. OK, I have to tell you this one last situation. It was a Friday and my car payment is due. I got another call from CNAC (this day is the due day), not a late day, yet I've already been called five times to make my car payment (this happens every time on my due date). It happened to be 7:30PM and I answered the phone (happy that I have a check in hand) and let them know I will bring the cash to the office in the morning.
This seems to outrage the manager John that I would even consider waiting until tomorrow. He told me I still had time to go to Kmart, which has check cashing. After cashing the check for a 5% fee, go to Western Union and electronically send him the payment. I said this would probably cost me $30.00 to pay my payment in this manner. He said if I don't pay it tonight, I could lose my truck before I get up the next morning. These are the tactics that they continually throw at you if you are going to be a day late; not to mention the numerous times they say with contempt, "You can't find anyone to loan you the money!" These people are ruthless and I could go on all day about similar situations. Someone please help.

I bought a car from JD Byrider in July 2007. The car has constantly been in the shop for the same repairs. The first problem, the vacuum hose disconnected. The next, the brakes were replaced twice. Then the transmission had problems. The car had a problem accelerating up hill. It was slow and sluggish. The problem was fixed. The problem came back again. This time I gave the car to my cousin to have his mechanic look at it and he said whoever worked my transmission placed it back in the car wrong and did a botched job repairing. The transmission is hitting up against the catalyst converter and causes it to make a loud noise.
I have given these people close to $2,000 to repair a 1999 Plymouth Voyager, which had 92000 miles on it when I bought it. According to the blue book, I should have only paid $5,000 for this particular car. They continue to harass me and threaten me. They even have the towing guy from Roads Towing and Recovery, Tom, call me twice a day. Something has to be done with this company because no matter what car you buy from them, it is always $10,000 and their financing percentage is high.

Below is the exact email I sent to J.D. Byrider customer service and to date, I have received one phone call/voicemail message. When I returned the call to J.D. Byrider, nobody was available to take my call so I left a message for the owner/general manager to call me back again. To date, nobody has responded. Further to my letter below and after sending the letter, I have noticed that they have changed the sticker on my window of the engine oil change due date but I never asked for an oil change in the first place. I sent the vehicle in to have an EGR valve replaced and also to have my brakes fixed.
On 12/02/2008, my wife and I purchased a 2005 Dodge Caravan from J.D. Byrider on Victory drive in Savannah, Georgia. Approximately 3 weeks after purchase, the engine light came on and stayed on. I also noticed that at speeds over 60 miles per hour, there was a rather severe shudder on the steering when braking lightly or hard. I took the van back to the dealer and I spoke to David who appeared to be the person in charge of the workshop. He told me he would get someone to check and see what was the cause of the light coming on. After a mechanic did the check, David told me it was the EGR valve that needed replacing and that he would have to order the part. And as soon as it arrives, he would call me to let me know so that we could book the vehicle in to have it repaired.
He said that at the same time then, they could check what the problem was with the brakes. He said he suspected the rotors needed replacing. He also told me that they had removed the original EGR valve and said that I would lose 10% on my fuel consumption driving without the EGR valve but that he would get one within the week. He also said that he would waiver the co-pay fee that I had would have to pay on the brakes and the EGR valve because we only recently bought the vehicle. One month went by and when I went into the dealership to pay the installment, I asked David what was going on about the EGR valve because he had not called me and it had been a month already. He told me he had tried to call me and then he started stammering as if he were not sure of his facts or was possibly lying to me. I do know for a fact that nobody had called me from J.D. Byrider concerning the repairs.
So he started asking the lady who works in the office if she knew about the part and eventually when he remembered where to look, he had realized that the part was there and had just forgotten about it. A booking was made for my vehicle which turned out to be another month later. Finally, I got my van in yesterday, 01/31/2009, to have the EGR valve replaced and the shuddering brakes seen to. I sat and waited at the dealership yesterday while the vehicle was worked on. When they finished working on it, about an hour and a half later, David came up to me and said the EGR valve had been replaced and the vehicle was good to go. When I asked him what about the brakes he said, "Oh right, you said they were squealing, didn't you?" as if he had totally forgotten about the brakes that needed to be repaired. Then he called a mechanic and asked him if he test-drove the vehicle.
The mechanic replied that he had and that the brakes were not making any noise at all. He too was lying because in the time that I had sat there waiting for them to repair the vehicle, I had only seen the vehicle move once and that was from the inside of the workshop to outside into their parking area. I specifically told David on two occasions about the brakes shuddering and now he had once again messed up with what he was telling me. I never complained about the brakes making a noise. I complained about the severe shudder on the steering when braking and he even said it sounds like rotors on previous occasions. He offered no apology but simply turned his back on me, walked away and left me standing there like a fool. When I wanted my keys back, the lady who works at the workshop reception area told me I had to pay the $25 co-pay.
When I asked her why I had to pay when he said he would waive the fee, her reply to me in a very aggressive tone was that I had already got the labor free and I must pay. I told her that since dealing with this workshop, I have been very patient up until now but it has been nothing but trouble for me and I will take my van elsewhere to get the brakes fixed. She simply said, "Just give me the money." Why did I have to pay for a job half done after he told me he would waive the fee and then still have to be treated with the utmost disrespect by David and the lady working with him? Why did I have to pay an extra 10% for my gas for over 2 months because David could not do his job properly and I have to suffer for it? I do not feel that I have been treated fairly or with the respect that I deserve and I especially do not like being lied to because the workshop staff is incompetent.
I hope you will address this with your employees because if I had been treated like this when we went in to buy the car, you never would have gotten our business. If I remember correctly, in the presentation we were shown when purchasing the car, your number one priority was taking care of your clients. This experience shows me exactly the opposite and I feel that I will not recommend you any further to future clients. I do not feel that it is out of the question to expect you to reimburse us for the 10% of gas mileage we lost in the 2 months waiting for your employees to do their job or the $25 co-pay for the repairs.

I called them the next day to tell the car had run hot; the only thing they could say was, "Bring the car in and leave it on March 24th." I explained to them that I couldn't wait that long because I needed a way to work. So they dropped it when I got a chance and they would look at it when they got a chance because they had other cars in front of me. On Friday, March 13th, the car broke down. I called them to let them know the car had broken down.
The next day, I had to get me another car because I needed a car and called them and for them to come get the car back. After they found out I had gotten another car, they wanted to be nice and try and get the car fixed. They even offered me another car. But I told them that it was too late, then when I tried to work with them, they would not work with me. I am very disappointed because this was not the first car I had bought from them. The car they sold me this time was like they went out in the junk yard and put something together. A week later, they came and got the car. Then after they got it, they were still using my bank information to withdraw money from my account.

I went to the JDByrider location at Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA a month ago and was approved for a vehicle but they only had super old cars with extremely high mileage that I "qualified" for so I walked. They kept calling so I went back this past Saturday 8/9/08 I was once again approved for a 2003 Hyundai Sonata but they wanted $1100 down. They had printed out the paperwork where the car was $10495, they agreed to defer my downpayment over three payperiods. I would have to bring in $500 on 8/15, $300 on 8/29 and my final payment of $300 on 9/12 equating to $1100. So, I presented them with the tax rebate advertisement for the up to $500 tax rebate which states if you are qualified and approved for a vehicle and have $500 or more in hand they will match it with $500 increasing your downpayment.
Well, I showed them this paper and at first they didn't want to honor it but had to of course; so they said they would honor it. So I told them I would bring them the $500 on Monday 8/11/08 and we agreed I could do the deal. So, I returned today Monday 8/11/08 and they tell me I don't have enough income, mind you my income has increased in the last month by an additional $400.
Bottom line, they are joke! I qualified the first time with less income, and the check stub info I gave them Saturday when they were willing to do the deal is the same they had today plus I brought additional check stub info from my second employer. Dustin is one of the CNAC finance persons there and he was no help! He even suggested that I put more money down. That's what it was all about in the beginning and why they "denied" me credit. They did not want to honor their advertisement of $500 tax rebate.
I am very upset because they waisted my personal time then cost me hours at my first job because they were trying to figure out a way to get out of this deal.

In 2006, my husband and I purchased a car from JD Byrider. It was the worst mistake we have ever made! At the time, neither of us really knew anything about buying a car from a dealership but in retrospect, it was an aweful deal and experience. We decided to go to JD Byrider because we really needed a car (obviously) and from the commercials we were made to believe that they would help us get into a car if we had an income. So, we went to JD Byrider and the nightmare began.
When we spoke to the salesman he asked why we needed a car and we explained our reasons for needing a car. Then he proceeded to show us some cars that he felt we would like while he explained that we can only buy a car that we need, not that we want. We didn't really think to much about that because we just assumed this was how they helped people and it was a part of the program. To make a long story short we ended up having to choose between two cars. We test drove both cars but one car made a knocking sound when you made a turn so we got stuck with a 1997 Chevy Lumina worth about $1200 now (remember we really needed a car).
We started proceeding to agree to buy the car because we thought we could afford the car. We didn't think $360/mo for the car was to bad for a payment and that it was something we could afford. However, we had to make the payment bi-weekly and the car costed us about $10,000 which comes to about $18,000 after interest. So, we still owe about $5,600 on a car that is worth $1,200! We were so dumb. Not only did we pay more than 5x's what the car is actually worth we paid it for a car that we really didn't choose.
We have been paying for the car for about two years now but now they want to take my car because I needed to pay $74 yesterday and I want them to wait 2 weeks. They have been calling all day today and yesterday over $74. I understand I owe $74 and 2 weeks is a little long but I will pay for the car like I have been. The whole deal was screwed anyway because they are PREDATORY!
Since I purchased the car I have learned all about and protested against PREDATORY LENDERS. PREDATORY LENDERS exploit people and prey on those that are desperate and in need. JD Byrider has locked us in a bad deal and I wish I would have known what I know now.
At this point, I have paid so much money to JD Byrider for a car that isn't even worth $1,500! The are harassing me about $74 and want to take the car. They told me to park my car in the parking lot until I can pay the $74 but I just want to call back and tell them to pick it up because they can have it back. They can repossess my car because I can buy a better car for less than it would cost to pay off the Chevy and its repairs. AS far as I am concerned, I have already paid at least 3xs as much to them as they probably paid to purchase the car.

We're screwed!
So, to anyone who reads this no matter how desperate you may become for transportation please think twice about going to JD Byrider because they will swindle you out of as much money as they can and then if you ever hit a bump in the road they will threaten to take your car...... even for $74!

On Wednesday, May 28, 2008, my son and I took my car to Jd by Rider , shop, (that's the company I'm financing the car with), because it was running hot. I had a doctor'e appointment that morning (I'm 8 months pregnant), so I got to Jd about 12pm- they close at 5. They took the car right in- Steven came out and said that they were going to replace the water pump and thermastat (which is covered under warranty, So my son and I waited. The shop eventually closed, but Steven and the guy that was working on the car stayed to finish it,
Around 6pm, Steven drove my car out to me from the back, and said it was ready. He said it was "normal" for the tempature gauge (thermometer) to go uo to the line right under the "H", since it was so hot outside- he said everything was fixed, gave me the key, and I left, I went about a block and heard a squealing noise- I knew they were probably already gone so I'd bring it back on Thursday 5-29-2008. Now they open at 8am, I had another doctor's appointment on Thursday 830am- when I was driving the car about a mile after I left the shop on Wednesday 05-28-08, the temp guage went back up to the H and the red light came on- I'm definately bringing it back!
So on Thurs morn I left my house to go back to Jd by Ryder, as soon as I leave, I hear that same squealing noise, I get about 4 miles from my house and there's a loud knocking noise in the engine- I take it straight to jd by Rider, Steven took it right in- I didnt have to say anything, it's like he knew it wasnt fixed, I of course told him what was going on with it- I told him that I needed my car, I had to get to the doctor, so he had an employee take me to the doctor and pick me up- I got back there to the shop around 1030am, they werent done with the car so I had a friend come and get me. Linda, also works in the shop, called me around 0330pm and said the car is ready- that everything was fixed,
I go back to the shop, I talk with Steven, he said that the Napa thermastat they put in didnt work for some reason, that my car would only take a thermastat from GM, so they got one from there and put it in- once again he promised everything was fixed- he said the squealing was the coolant that spilt on the hoses, but that they cleaned it off, the knocking noise in the motor, was because of it still running hot. "but everything is all fixed now, the temp guage stays in the half mark," that's what he said, so he gives me my keys, I walk out to my car, before I even unlock my door, I notice a big dent with a scratch on the driver's side- that wasnt there when I took my car there!
I go right back inside- I tell him it wasnt there before, steven immediantly walks out to the car, he looks at it, then says right away, "We'll take care of that." He didnt even deny it! He knew he did that to my car- So we went back inside where he set up an appointment for me to bring the car back so they could take care of the dent and scratch- free of chrge- I told him I wanted to wait until after I had the baby- I have to much going on right now to have to take off work to get another thing fixed! So he set it up for August 4 in the computer, finally, I leave.
Now I live about 30 miles one way from this place, I get about 8 miles from home, and its in the red again! I get my cell and call Steven- he says I could bring it back and they could send it to GM so they could find out whats going on with it. Why couldn't he tell me this before? Instead I wasted my 2 days off work and the car runs worse than it did before I took it there!
At this point, it's now 445pm and they close at 5- i'm tired at this point, I didnt have enough time to get back out to him or gas! I asked him if he would provide another car while mine was being fixed- he said no not in the contract, but my car was suppossed to be fixed! So I had to take off work on Friday 05-30-08, so I can take my car back to them and figure something out about a rental car- that they won't pay for. I've contacted their corperate office, I should be hearing from them in 7 business days.

On Friday, May 2nd due to financial issues I was unable to make payment but I did put it in the drop box over the weekend. They acknowledged they received payment on Monday but on Tuesday, May 5th, they repossessed the vehicle.
I am without a vehicle and the $1400 I paid on the down payment. The only thing they are telling me is that I want have to worry about seeing the repossession on my credit report and if I want the car back I will have to pay the full $9,900.59.

Iniitially I was to make a $850.00 down payment but at the signing of the paperwork I was told that I would have two deferred payments of $250.00 before my payments of $183.00 would begin. I made the initial $250.00 payment on March 8,2008 and had a second payment due on March 21,2008. I could not make the payment on friday the 21st and I called CNAC to make them aware that the payment would be made on monday the 24th.
I was told that they would see me on monday. When I returned home from work on monday and called the dealership to inquire about the vehicles license plate that was supposed to be picked up on friday so that I could make the payment and pick up the tag as well, The repo man was in the driveway. I was on the phone with a Mr.Hisham and was told at that time that I would need to pay off the balance of the loan in order to retrieve the vehicle. I began checking consumer complaints regarding JD Byrider and found that I am not the only one who has been victimized by this unscrupulous car dealer/finance company.
I am a working class citizen that doesn't have $1100.00 to just give to these people because of their bad business practices. My family is out of a reliable vehicle and transportation woes are numerous. And to top it off, I suffer a serious blow too my credit score(that was supposedly being rebuilt) because my payment was two days in default.

My husband and I bought a 2000 Chevy Prizm from JD Byrider at the end of March beging of April 06. We got and interest rate of 25%, but we had a car. About a month goes by and the car motor blows up. My husband check the oil in the car, there was no oil in the car. they sold us the car without doing and oil change. We call JD Byrider's towing, the will not come and get the car beaceause we live out in the country and it was too far for them. So we had no way of getting the car to Columbia.
Our car sat for 8 months not running. During this time we made all of our payments on time. Finally we get an offer for someone to take the car to Columbia for us for free, well we couldn't refuse this. We get to Columbia and they tell us that they will call us when they find out what is wrong with the car and what they are going to have to do to fix it. About a month and a half go by, almost two months and we haven't heard anything from them.
We didn't make one payment, something came up and we needed the money. they call us to collect the payment. My husband gets on the phone with them and tells them we are not paying until we hear something about our car. They say the car is ready to be picked up. We go and pick up the car, they won't tell us what was wrong with it. All they said was that something was wrong with the motor. Now when we bought the car our warenty stated that for every 1,000$'s they spend we pay 25$. We paid the 25$ and took the car home.
As I am geting off of the exit, the check engine light comes on. At first I didn't think anything about it, I thought that it would go away. It never did, we went and had it checked. The computer read System too lean, Sensor 1 miss fire, Sensor 2 miss fire, and sensor 3 miss fire. After that we call and talk to them and the dealership, they say bring it in we'll look at it. We couldn't bring it in at this point in time beaceause my husbands car needed a clutch, so we were only driving the one car. My husband decides to check the oil, to see if it needs and oil change. He tells me to come and look at the motor. Me, I know nothing about motors, so he tells me that the motor that they put in the car isn't for the car. He said that the motor mounts don't match up, that the car is only being held in by one bolt.
He had one of his friends who is a machanic just look at the motor. He says that he can't believe that a dealership would allow this. So we continue to drive the car due to the fact that my husbands car needed a clutch. It got worse. The car had no power at all, if for some reason I had to get out of someones way, I wouldn't be able to, if the car was floored the car would start to loose power and shake, and jerk forward and back. The car would also pop out of 4th and reverse.
We are tired of dealing with they lies and the ripoff. We are paying 10,000$'s for the car, we were trying to get rid of the car at one point, someone looked up the KBB value of our car and said that the book said $2,500. If that is the case we are being charged more that double for the car. I want to be done with them, my husband and I are not driving the car anymore, we bought another car that runs perfect.

Two months later the egine went up and my son called to have it fixed and they told him he had to make an appointment well before the appointment the car cut of he called the tow truck to pick it up and he was busy so the car sit down town for two days in a tow away zone and it got tow by the time the two truck could get there. JD Byrider picked the car up from the city impound lot and sent us a letter stating they have the car and they were going to sell the car and if they sell it for more then he owed they would send him a check we haven't heard anythin yet. I am disgusted at their tactics and I cannot believe that it is legal to do such a predatory transaction.
They prey on people in these situations, who have no credit and although it does help in the long run with establishing credit, they sell cars for 3 to 4 times what they are worth. I called and asked them to give me a new car and just add what was left on my loan to the new car, they refused. I have found out that a spark plug was screwed in incorrectly which is what caused the damage to the car.
I have been spending money on rentals because I cannot afford to pay the money they want and they also had my car for over a week before they let me know what was wrong with it. it is sitting in a garage somewhere collecting dust. OK. Here is the story with JD Byrider and the entire locations within Georgia.
I currently live in Florida. But I purchased my car in Georgia. In December 2005, I made a down payment on an overpriced car (pontiac sunfire 1997) where the payments to cover the down payment were agreed to.
I made the payments like I was supposed to. Then I lost my job at the end of February.
After resurfacing in Florida, CNAC and its company harassed my mother and father about where I was, got the NYPD involved (when it shouldn't have) and looking all over me. They forced me to make this payment. I said to them that I just moved to Florida and just got a full time job down here. Ever since then, I have had to deal with some of the nastiest black men and women on the face of the earth.
I am a black male who is speaking on this. Race is a factor, because I would have a better relationship with a real car finance company.
I am about two steps from complaining to the Mayor of Georgia about CNAC's business tactics. If I have to and I will I will take this to CNN and the national news media if necessary.
I have received poor customer service and nasty attitude. I made a payment one time and I wanted to verify the payment through my credit card. The woman inexplicably says to me. Well, you'll have to wait because I'll make sure that this is correct.
I was stunned to hear this. Now, I don't know whether these black women have not had been properly taken care of or not sexually satisfied or what, but the bottom line is that there is a lot of poor customer service running around both offices in Georgia.
I will have some legal representation that will back me up in this case. I assure you that this will not happen to me ever again.
Consequences, I have had to be broke just because of their stupid tactics. I have been emotionally damaged because of this.

Where to begin? Well, how about some back-ground. I am a 31 year old man who had to file bankruptcy 2 years ago due to my old company closing it's doors 4 years ago and leaving me with out a job for almost 2 years, as well as a conniving banker who ruined my credit by using scamming me out of a home.
So after the car I was driving up and died I had to find a vehicle to get me to work. Seeing as how my credit was poor I had no choice but to go to JD Byrider and look for transportation. Being desperate and having no money to put down I choose a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. After taking it for a test drive and settling on a price of around $6000, I took her home. After two weeks I had to have the car repaired. They had to replace the water pump and the gas tank. Yes, the whole frickin' gas tank.
Apparently it had rusted through completely in the short period of time I had the car. After getting this wonderful machine back home, I again had to have it repaired within two weeks, the alternator had gone bad. I picked the car up and was ready to pay the deductable of 25.00, when I was informed I owed nothing. Three weeks go by and I have to make another appointment for bad brakes. My appointment was a MONTH away. Fine. Okay.
In this time CNAC, the finance company, called to let me know that my account was red flagged for 25.00 due for the alternator repair. It apparently didn't occur to these people to let me know about this new charge, when I picked the car up I was told that I owed NOTHING. It also didn't occur to them that I was making weekly payments directly to them at the drive through, where they could have told me. Fine, I paid my fee.
I was also not informed that when I paid every two weeks, I was incurring late fees. I had talked to one of their representatives at the time and had been told that there was no problem with paying every other week. Well, after being verbally assaulted on the phone today by the acting manager I've had enough. This company has called family and friends to get a payment of 63.00. Again, I was told there was no problem with paying every two weeks in the past. On top of all this my brakes are not fixed and the check engine light has been on for over a month now. The maintenance shop is booked solid. Oh yeah, remember this closing price of around 6,000? After fees and interest I'm paying 8,200! Lovely. So what do I do? I've filed complaints and gotten nothing in return.
And I was also told today that if I did not come up with 69.71 to catch me up the manager, and I quote verbatim here would come get the Motherf***ing car and dock my motherf***ing paycheck 25% a week! It seems to me that this is a no win situation. AVOID JD Byrider and CNAC at all costs!

Sounds good right well consider this I was told by the sales person We inspect all the vehicles thourghly and all this happened since March luckly I purchased the warrenty. Well now I have had to take the car in twice because it makes a rattling noise twice it's taken care of I was told by the service manager Brian oh we are not charging you anything. Now I'm going to have to pay the GM dewalership here in town $75 per hr to explore what the noise is with no promisses.

I purchased a 1995 Lexus SC 300 from the dealer in April of 05', I just found out last week, 9-19-05, that the car was a Total Loss, after receiving a letter from the Attorney General's office. The letter stated that State Farm had not reported the vehicle on a timely basis to the DMV as a Total Loss & that the title would be branded as a Salvage or Reconstructed. I contacted JD Byrider immediately since there was a document signed at the time of loan closing with CNAC, JD Byrider's finance department, that stated that the title was good & was told that Mr. Albritton, part owner, would have to contact his attorney. Keep in mind, that there are laws here to protect the buyer from purchasing a Total Loss or Salvage titled vehicle without it being disclosed.
I contact the Attorney General's office & numerous local attorneys & was told that the only thing that could be done was to return the vehicle to the dealer, receiving all of my money back, the dealer then returning the car to the auction (since they had an agreement with them as well stating the title was good), & then the auction returning the vehicle to the dealership that they purchased it from & contacting the individual that traded the car in knowing that it had been totalled, which is fraud.
We waited 4 days to allow Mr Albritton, with JD Byrider, to take care of things on his end & was told that it wasn't his problem, that we would have to take it up with State Farm, the insurance company, that did not report it in a timely basis to the DMV. Well, we did not purchase the vehicle from the insurance company, nor did we choose to purchase a Salvage titled vehicle, nor would we ever purchase such a vehicle since they are of minimum or no value at all!!
Mr. Albritton is still trying to charge us the $11,000.00 for the vehicle, $16,000.00 with finace charges for a Total Loss vehicle??? I have contacted every state office in reguards to this matter: Attorney General, Louisiana Used Car Association, Ken Booth (KNOE) an investigative reporter, & the primary owner of JD Byrider Monroe (Ronnie Ward). I am not just going to go away. We do have legal grounds & will continue to fight this one out!!!!

I bought the car two months ago for well over what it's worth. It's a 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4L DOHC 4 Cylinder. The car looked immaculate when I bought it, but I can only guess they did a good degreasing of the engine and good cleaning job. The car's a total waste and I'm paying $146.76 every two weeks. The brakes have problems like crazy and sensors keep going out.
I've owned the car for 2 months and have been able to drive it for half that time. The service center took 2 hours to fix the rear brakes completely and the oxygen sensor and they had time to drive it, but I had to wait a week and a half to get it in there to fix it. Meanwhile me sitting there with a broken expensive paper weight. JD Byrider will get you a car, but you better be prepared to use that optional service warranty. They apologized profusely on the phone to me when I told them my brakes quit working while driving the vehicle. I guess they don't want somthing like a death caused by their idiot service going on their impeccable record.
I'm completely broke because I have no way to get to interviews for jobs since my car seems to never work.

It was returned to me four days later, unrepaired and in worst condition; it wouln't run if I took my foot off of the gas pedal and it still made a horrible noise.
Before leaving the maintenance shop I was told by Tom, the head mechanic, that it was some levers and that once the oil filled them and pushed the air out the noise would go away and that I had to drive it for the oil to fill the levers. I returned the vehicle to the maintenance shop three days later. (I did not drive the vehicle that weekend because it would cut off at every stop sign on the way home-and all the way back to the maintenance shop on Monday morning. JD Byrider still has the vehicle and it is still unrepaired. It is now two months later. On many occassions I was told the vehicle would be repaired on a certain day and the day has changed ever since.
Twice I took a trip from my home in North Carolina to Akron, Ohio on the word of JD Byrider stating my vehicle would be repaired and ready on a certain day. The JD Byrider employees new I was driving from another state to pick up my vehicle and both times it was not repaired and I was told another day the vehicle would be ready. My account with them is not behind, my vehicle is under warranty and no one has an answer as to why my vehicle still is not repaired. I went to JD Byrider because I had ruined my credit in the past years, and was ready to fix it. I knew going in I was going to pay too much for the car, and a high interest rate. They wanted $800 down, (which I couldn't afford), so they offered to 'defer' the payments. I spent 3 and 1/2 hours geting 'approved', and going through the motions. I signed the financial documents, but they wouldn't let me take the car unless I had full coverage insurance, (at the time all I had was liablity).
The next morning I called my insurace company and they wanted $500 to start a full coverage policy. I called a few other places, and again, with my driving record, wanted at least that much down. Obviously with the cost of day-to-day living, and the $700 'downpayment' they wanted, I would not be able to afford this right now. I contacted a friend of mine that works for a car dealership and he talked to his finance manager there. He stated that as long as I did NOT take physical possession of the vehicle AFTER I signed the finance papers that I was not legally responsible, and I could 'pull out' of the deal.
When I called the dealership the salesman gave me a hard time (which I expected), I apologized for wasting his time and told him what my friend had told me. He told me that the bank had already given JD Byrider the money, and they couldn't reverse that. I argued with the salesman for over a half hour, and he told me he would give the finance manager my message, she was at lunch. About an hour later I called, she still 'wasn't back', then 2 and half hours later I called, 'she was in a meeting'. I finally realized they were like any other used car company and giving me the run around.

In September of 2002 I reluctantly purchased a 1995 Nissan Sentra from JD Byrider of Madison, WI. I say reluctant because I had heard MANY complaints about the quality of vehicles they sold prior to my purchase, however, I needed a car to get myself to work and my child to daycare, so I took a risk. Little did I know I would be yet another recipient of JD Byrider's scam to get people to buy their vehicles that are unreliable, unsafe and over-priced (they soaked me $8,000).
It is now June of 2003. I haven't even had the car for a year and have already had to put a brand new starter, muffler and several other odds and ends into it. The total in repairs so far has been close to $2,000 in 9 months of owning it. Now the alternator is completely inoperable and the car is dead. Not to mention the dashboard lights have never worked and it's fun to drive at night not being able to see how fast you're going or how much gas the car has in it. After the alternator went dead,
I decided that I'm not going to put another penny into that piece of junk, nor am I going to continue to make payments on it because I REFUSE to do so. I am in the process of surrendering the car and I will warn everyone I know never to purchase a car from JD Byrider. They are the worst car dealership there is, in my opinion. It was the worst mistake I've ever made.
When a person purchases a vehicle from a dealership, they expect a reliable and safe vehicle for their families and themselves. They expect to be able to trust the company that they purchase the good from...that the good will be free of defects or else your money back. JD Byrider doesn't work like that. They con people into buying their lemon vehicles at a very high price. JD Byrider has never heard of the word quality and good customer service. They outright lie to their customers and rob them. JD Byrider has no business having a liscense to sell vehicles.
The damage the purchase of this vehicle has cost me has been severe financial difficulties. I am a single parent who works full-time, and rely on a vehicle to get me back and forth from work and my child to and from daycare. Not only did I struggle financially to fix everything that broke down on this car I had only had for 9 months but in the long run my credit report will look bad because I simply could not afford to keep putting money into repairs, as well as my bi-weekly payment to CNAC, and had to surrender this vehicle because of it.

We kept trying to keep up the payments but got behind. They kept sending things to the wrong space # although they knew exactly what it was so letters would be returned.
Mr Michael Squier (an employee) came out one night said he had no plans to take the car just wanted to ask some questions. He said good night and that was it. This was march 20th, 2003 and when we got up in the morning the car was gone.
We waited to be notified that they had the car, let us know where the car was to get our personal property out and how much we needed if we wanted to get the car back.
Finally on 4/3/03 I wrote to them requesting all of that and of course no reply. I wrote again 4/18 still nothing from them.
I asked where we could pick up our belongings: 2 baskets of laundry, my purse, cash, atm card, granddaughters new car seat, etc. No Reply..They charge a storage fee for your personal property too.
Finally on May 12th we get a 72 hour notice to pay balance owed on the car (we no longer have) or mess up our credit reports. I would like to know if all of this is legal?
BUYER BEWARE! especially from the Mesa store!

We have called JD Byrider because from day one there has been on oil leak which the heads need to be replaced and a very intense gas smell. We have had the car repaired over and over and put in so much money that it is turning out to be a true lemon.
The company has said its your problem for the warranty has expired since the milage has gone over what they consider to be over warranty. Now she is stuck with a car that needs extensive repairs plus paying a monthly bill on $300.00 They sold her the car for $7900.00. They then said they could approve us for a car. They were the worst 4 cars on their lot. I voiced my displeasure and told the sales I was not interested and left my husband there. That evening he came home with one of the cars telling me that the sales rep co-signed for him because he was hard up for a sale. Approx 3 months later I find a copy of th contract that shows me and my husbands name on it. My husband then tells me the sells rep told him it was the only way he could get him in a car. I immediately tried to contact managment at JD Byrider.
I talked to Jeff Costa who told me he would look into it and call me back. After several weeks I never heard from him. I went the their establishment and insisted that something be done because they perpatrated a fraud. This is when he told me that his sales rep and my husband and brought the contract to my home for me to sign that same evening I had done the credit check. I explained to him that I havent seen his sales rep since the orginal evening and I never seen the contract until I had contacted him about it. After getting their District Manager involved they took the car back and refused to give my now estranged husband any of his money back. So to settle that issue they sold him an older model car to same amount as the orginal car. So about 3 months after having several problems with my own car I go to try to get approval on a loan to get me a car and they tell me I have car loan already. Come to find out it is the car that I had not signed for.
I have since contacted Jeff Costa who told me to call General Manager Weston Barr who has told me to contact CNAC (bank holding loan). The bank has been of no help and neither has JD Byrider. All I have asked for is a notarized letter from them stating I have no finacial or any other obligation with them. Weston Barr has admitted I don't owe them anything. Now am struggling immensly with poor transportation and cannot even get another car. I am now having to use my down payment on repairs on a car I could have traded in, just to be able to get to work and care for my 3 children.
I am without reliable transportation. Emotional stress and anguish.

Since the car needed to be checked and fix we was not going to take the car home but the manager in the service dept said that it was safe to drive the car like that and they will take care of it at a later date. Standing with him when he stated this was a representive from CNAC and one of the bosses in the sales dept. They each stated to us that they will fix it and not charge us for anything since this was brought to their attention before purchase of the car and confirmed after purchase of the car. Well, my ordeal with jd byrider started when i went to look for a dependable used vehicle, I checked with the BBB of arizona and they said they were members in good standing (I later found that the arizona division has numerous complaints against but they are not doing anything about it and advertised them as premier BBB customers?) The drove the car 2 miles and the clutch came loose, i hobbled back to the lot and 4 hours later they said it was fixed. I drove home and then found out that it refused to drive in reverse or move, byrider had to towed back to the lot and then took 2 weeks to get it repaired through a contract mechanic (cottman transmissions). I talked to the mechanic and he said that they used junkyard parts to fix it, and that they were usually supposed to use new parts to fix this type of problem.
After taking expensive taxis to work (they did not pay for any traveling reimbursementsnor offered a temporary vehicle during repairs, that should have been a tipoff). After the 2000$ repair job which they charged $100 for and I barely used the vehicle. Things went fine except that the car lights would only work in high beam mode not normal (I later learned this is indictive of potential electrical problems). I was told oh, thats nothing its just the lights, I replaced the lights and samething happened. 3 weeks after that I had to replace all the brake pads and drums, as the car had been sold with worn parts. That took about 2 days.
Then the next problem was a chronic electrical problem, the car would spurt and shake physically, I took it into jd byrider and they said they could not duplicate the problem. I took into a mechanic who fixed the problem by replacing the electrical wiring harness for the engine, that worked. However the problem starting reoccuring after 3 weeks, I was told by one mechanic that it was the worst vehicle he had ever driven and showed it to his fellow mechanic (note he has been in business for over 15+ years, thats saying a lot).
The same problem kept reoccuring every month, I had taken to numerous mechanics and they done same repiar replacing the wiring harness to the engie. I had tried to jd byrider to fix the problem, but they stated that it's not our problem, even though the warranty covered electrical problems, and I had mentioned that to them, they refused to talk to me after that. I found out that the vehicle had major electrical problems and that it would take 2500-3000 dollars, I had the vehicle towed back to byrider and told that the problems had occured during the warranty period and that they had refused to fix it, and also that it was a reoccuring problem. They said it was there problem, and I had better pay up or else they would destroy my credit. I offered that if they would permanently fix the expensive electrical problem, that I would be happy to keep the vehicle, but that it was a hazard in its present condition and it needs to have the electrical problem present when I financed the vehicle, fixed, they said that they would contact me once this was , I have heard no word from them since(it was so bad, i was stalling out in traffic, and even in highways, it was extremely dangerous to drive, and was whiplash from the misfiring of the cylinders (the short was buring out wires to the cylinders causing cylinders to not fire, and fire off at the wrong times), and that before I take the vehicle back that
