July 11, 2019 a person appeared at my door and asked me to show PG&E bill. And after a short conversation I shown statement for June 2019. He pointed that PG&E charges me $1.82 per therm for natural gas (which is true). And said that Just Energy (JE) can offer $0.86 per therm fixed flat price for 5 years. Nice, I said yes. Later, after a brief research, I found out that JE doesn't include delivery cost and surcharges and fees. I also found out that "pure" price PG&E charges me for natural gas itself was $0.21 per therm for that period. Four times cheaper than JE offered!!
I checked, at winter time the price was $0.43. Please see section GAS PROCUREMENT COSTS PER THERM in your statement - this is real price of natural gas ITSELF, without delivery and any extra charges. I have requested cancellation next day. JE finally did it, thought they could not provide any written confirmation that service has been canceled. So, understand your bill! :) And stay away from JE, well, at least in North CA.

We appreciate your feedback we're sorry to hear about your recent experience with Just Energy, and we have attempted to contact you to discuss this situation.

I knew of Just Energy through my landlord. I got my bill from the company and compared to my previous energy provider, the one I had before was cheaper. I would still rather go back to them. Other than the bill, Just Energy's people have been pretty good so far.

Several weeks ago I received an aggressive series of knocks on my door. Thinking it was urgent, I opened up the door to see a Just Energy representative standing there. The person asked to see my utility bill from the primary utility provider, which I foolishly showed him. He then explained that he needed to make sure that Just Energy was showing on the bill. He worded it in such a way that made it sound like Just Energy was a subdivision of the primary utility company, and this was some sort of internal issue that they needed my approval to resolve. He also said that the only thing that would change is the fact that Just Energy would be the name of the gas provider. He asked for my signature, which I foolishly gave him, believing that all I was doing was resolving some internal issue for my utility company.
Then, he had a third-party verification company call my phone. This person asked me several questions that I was required to give a clear "Yes" to in order to authorize this "transaction". The first question was just confirming my information, so I said "Yes". Then, the second question asked if I wanted to enroll in Just Energy's service. I was taken aback because I had been led to believe that I wasn't enrolling in any different service; I was just changing the name that was showing up on my bill. So I asked the representative, who was still standing there, what this was all about. He assured me that I wasn't actually enrolling in any new service; nothing would change on my bill except that the correct name would show up.
I was skeptical and wanted to hear the question from the verification agent again, so I asked the verification agent to repeat the question. She repeated it; however, the Just Energy representative began talking to me while she was doing so, so I wasn't able to hear what she said. This happened several more times as I kept asking her to repeat the question, and the representative kept talking to me so that I couldn't focus on what she was saying (despite me repeatedly telling the representative that he needed to be quiet while the verification agent was talking). The representative kept insisting to me that I wasn't signing up for anything new; this was just to get the correct name on the bill. Eventually, partially out of frustration, I said "Yes" to the question, and to the other remaining questions, and the Just Energy representative finally left.
Shortly thereafter, I received an email showing the contract I had "signed", which I was not aware of. Sure enough, he had taken the signature that I had provided him and slapped it onto this contract in three different places which said that I would be switching my gas provider to Just Energy. Moreover, the contract had absurd terms - I had to stay with Just Energy for 5 years, and there was to be a $175 cancellation fee if I terminated the contract early. One of the stipulations of the contract was that I had had a chance to read the contract (which I did not; the representative never showed it to me).
The only reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one, is because I was able to cancel the contract immediately after I saw it. I called their agency and explained that I never intended to sign this contract, and they seemed to cancel it painlessly. I haven't had to pay the cancellation fee, and my latest utility bill doesn't show Just Energy anywhere on it. I'll be continuing to monitor my bills to ensure that the cancellation was successful. TL;DR version: A Just Energy representative came to my door, lied to my face about who Just Energy was and why he was there, and tricked me into providing a signature that he then put onto a one-sided contract.

We appreciate your feedback and would like to inform you that we are investigating the matter with our sales leads to ensure that our marketing standards and expectations are maintained, at all times.

I switched to Just Energy to reduce my bill. The rep at Just Energy was very efficient in his marketing. That was nice. Once I switched, my previous energy provider called me and they said that they would provide whatever as far benefits that Just Energy is providing to me. Just Energy is awesome and for now, my experience has been good with exception to the high charges. Just Energy is costing me $100 more than my previous provider. I used to pay 130 to 150. Now, it's 230 to 250. I saw the bill yesterday and it was around 233. I'm kinda confused as to what to do next because my average usage in the last six month never crossed 1,000 kilowatts. But I saw in my bill that I was at 1,800. There are a couple of charges like Green Energy. I'll wait for one more billing cycle and analyze my bill. If it is something wrong on my end, I'll try to correct it. But if not, I will call the customer care to discuss that.

Thank you for taking time of our your day to provide feedback to us Ramsingh. First, we'd like to thank you for joining the Just Energy family. I had done a thing online to find electric service for my new area and when I called in, they said that Just Energy would be the better fit for me. I knew we’d be consuming a lot, like over 2,000 kilowatts a month. With Just Energy, we wouldn’t get charged for going over that and so far, the experience has been good. The team there was helpful. They did what needed to be done and we got our meter up. Our power was on as soon as they clocked our meter in.

When I switched from TXU to Just Energy, it was because TXU wasn’t proactive in letting me know that my current contract was expiring and didn’t offer me anything comparable to what my contract was. I got a surprise bill that was almost double what I had been paying. If companies would be proactive in letting their customer know a couple of months ahead of time that their current contract was expiring and would offer them something comparable or better than what they’re paying, that would be a good way for retention on current customers.
TXU came back to me afterwards trying to offer me a good deal or a better deal than what Just Energy they gave me, but I told them they were too late because they should have done that prior to my contract expiring and not surprising me with the bill. With Just Energy, my experience has been going really well. I found them through a website where you go on and see which the best rates are. Just Energy had better rates. Their customer service called and thanked me for being a new customer.

I called one of these websites where they gave you different choices of who to go with. I told them what I was experiencing and they told me that the best deal for me would be Just Energy. So, I told them to sign me up. Before that, I've used Cirro, TXU, and Reliant and with them, the bills just kept going up without even notifying me. I've been with Just Energy for one month now and so far, it looks really good because my first bill was only 41 bucks. That was really nice. But I prorated cost because it was a partial month.
In a laboratory, I need to see graphs and charts to form a decision, so I'm still waiting on my usage and compare apples to oranges to really know if they're good for me. I can't tell at the moment especially since I have family from my account. They have the AC running all day and all night, and I'm cringing every time I see the thermostat. So I'm gonna have to wait until after the summer to start to gauge the difference. I even have timers on the cable box because those are the ones that burn the most energy. So, I've had to bypass those to accommodate my guests.

My energy bill has always been 135, 125, sometimes 95. And I was told that with Just Energy, it was gonna be less than that. Their rep was so convincing. But, the first bill I got is higher. The highest my bill had ever went to was 169, and this month was the same. The price on my bill ever went that high was when I had guests over for almost a month. My kids are away and I leave my house in the morning for work. I don’t get back home until 7:00 in the morning, and then I leave again by 2:00. So, I don’t know why it’s that high. I would have to see my next month's bill to know if there would be a difference. I also had an outage once. I was going out when it went off. But it came back on after an hour or so. And so, the bill actually came and it was only $142. I don’t understand why they would send out the email saying one thing, and then send a bill that said something else. But I'm happy with $142. I would be definitely unhappy with $250. That would be the highest bill I've ever had in my life and I'm only gonna get one. But other than that, so far, so good.

I'm not late on my bills and I have everything drafted out of my checking account and I was really pissed. After being assured this could be done I signed up. During the process she told me her iPad wouldn’t allow one of the meters to be moved and I would need to call in and have it done once my account was set up.
So, I call a few days later and am told it has to be set up as a commercial account at a high rate not the rate I was promised and it would be multiple accounts. After several several calls and hours later I am back with TXU who did not lie to me and was happy to have my business. The people I talked to at Just Energy were very rude and unprofessional. They refused to stand by the laws and regulations out into place to protect the consumer.

I got the bill for my first week of service from Just Energy and it seemed to be pretty reasonable. It’s actually lower than the one from the apartment complex I was at. I also called to get an email sent for proof of power and the person on the phone was super helpful. It was a 30-second transaction.

We had Just Energy in 2012 but we moved to a different company and the bill was so high. I moved again to another company to save me money because I was on a budget. But seeing the bill was gonna go high with that company, we went back to Just Energy. Compared to my previous carriers, Just Energy doesn't lie about their percentages in their central wattage. Other people say, "You'll pay this much," but when the bill comes in, it comes in at almost $150. When I was with Just Energy, my bill would come out at $105. It wouldn't hit $130, $140 like any other company would. I am satisfied with Just Energy because I was hearing from multiple people that their friends’ companies would come up to almost 300, 400 bucks and that’s in an apartment. We live in an apartment and houses are supposed to be higher than an apartment.
The representatives at Just Energy are really helpful and they will answer questions. They are not disrespectful. However, nobody told me there was a process that I had to go through where I would get approved from the corporate offices so I would get my electricity up. I spoke with one of their representatives and she told me that Friday that they were gonna connect my electricity up. I called Saturday and they told me, "Call in on Sunday. We'll let you know." So, I called in Sunday. They said, "No. By Monday you'll have electricity on." We went from Friday night, Saturday and Sunday night, until Monday morning without electricity that time.
With the person that I spoke with the second time, he broke everything down correctly. He told me, “You won’t get your electricity on this weekend because it’s a Saturday and on Sunday we’re often closed. So, Monday morning you’ll get your electricity up.” I told him, “Excuse me if I kinda sound like mad or coming at you or barking at you.” He said it was okay. I asked who was gonna give my mom her money back for what she spent on groceries. It was not right that we went for three days without electricity. On top of that, my mom had a stroke. She couldn’t be without any AC. He was sorry and told me they would try to work with me right then. They told me whatever expired and if we had the receipt, they would compensate us.

Just Energy had a good flat rate for power compared to other providers who sucked because they got us in a six-month contract, and then the contract expired and they didn't really tell us. And then, I got hit with a $650 power bill because they jacked our rate up three times from what it was, and we decided we didn't want no more of that. With Just Energy service has been sustained. But we do not have to worry as much about getting a giant surprise bill.

The most recent experience I had with Just Energy was a horrible experience. The last time that I spoke with them, it was a good experience, but what had happened was I had accounts at two homes. I had purchased a home and we were remodeling it. I had electric service at the other house as well. I wanted the electric service disconnected on a Saturday and they turned it off on that Friday. I had to finish cleaning everything in the heat in Texas which is no fun.
Saturday morning, they disconnected my energy service at the home that I live in now and I have three small grandchildren. After hours of doing that, they set up a new account for me instead of just being able to turn on the account that I had. And they sent my husband an email saying what the new rates are. I've been a customer for a couple of years and there was no reason why they couldn't turn my electricity back on as simply as they turned it off. They could've simply made the same phone call and had my service restored because they should've never terminated the service at my new address. I'm very unhappy right at the moment, and I was thinking about calling the utilities commission. I don't know who else would need to make a complaint with.
It should've been a simple process. The addresses are completely separate so there's no reason to get one confused with the other one. I kept talking to people and I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor never would come to the phone. Finally, when he came to his phone, he was the rudest individual that I have ever spoken with. I kinda feel like the supervisor did this to be a jerk. He saw that I had another account so he disconnected that account because he knew what was gonna happen. It's gonna be on the weekend. I had a freezer and a refrigerator full of food. I probably lost $400 worth of food. This was a very, very bad situation and I'm very dissatisfied with what happened. Hopefully, things will be handled properly.

Scammed at Sams by Just Energy. I was talked into signing up at Sam's Club. The nice rep described this “capped plan” as that I will pay my current rate (with NIPSCO) but capped at 0.60 per term. It sounded like no loss at all. After signed up, the contract said I will pay the NYMEX rate capped at the above rate. My experience with Just Energy is okay right now, but I'm still trying to get used to this auto-payment thing which I'm not really comfortable with too much. They told me that was the only way that I could get the services. Other than that, I was gonna have to pay a $300 deposit. I didn't like that part because I never had to do that. I have to keep monitoring when the payment is gonna come out of my account so I can make sure that the funds are in there. They don't allow you to get extensions too fast, so that's another thing that I didn't like. I had lost track of when I needed to call to get an extension, and it was too late. They wouldn't honor it.
I need to find out if there is a timeframe on this next payment that's coming up so I can make sure that the funds are in the account. The way they have it scheduled is before my actual payday so I have to try to remind myself to check it before they do the automatic draft out of my account. They don't like to split the payments up. They always try to do the full amount, but sometimes I may not be able to pay the full amount at that time. Also, some of the reps are really foreign and they don't speak real good English so we have a hard time communicating with them. When I call in, they try to move the date and a lot of times, they don't understand what I'm saying. I have to repeat it so many times with them.

Hello Sharnette. We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with your account's auto payment enrollment status. At the time of enrollment, a deposit was required but auto pay was entered to waive this. We apologize if this was an inconvenience to you at any time. Per your request, auto pay has been removed from your account and you will have additional freedom with payment extensions if needed.

Just Energy is consistent and without many problems. With National Grid, I’ve had a few issues. Rhode Island’s an older area, so a lot of the stuff up there is older. So, they would have to do equipment updates all the time, whether that be in the ground or on the lines. Also, Just Energy is a bit cheaper. You call your service provider and ask them why they disconnected your power without noticing you and they said they got the request to cancel your contract; obviously you did not ask to cancel it. It was the experience I’ve had with JUST ENERGY in Alberta Canada couple months ago. I phoned them many times to ask their responsibility about this issue and it sounded like it is my issue, not theirs. Their responsibility is only to send the bill to me and continue to change my account without my permission. I’ve cancelled my first account with JUST ENERGY and applied with another provider. Here is another interesting thing I found: I paid the rate 6.99 cents/kWh (for electricity) and 4.09 $/GJ (for Gas) for many years without checking my bill. Now the rate I have with new provider is 6.29 cents/kWh (for electricity) and 3.69 $/GJ (for Gas) for 5 years plan. Check your bill and you will see what I’m saying.
You may think I am stupid to pay high rate and get the awful services. I have to admit that and fix it right away. I’m cancelling couple more family accounts with Just Energy and never use their service again. If you live in Alberta, you’ll agree with me these days are tough and why we have to pay money for this kind of services. Good luck to all Just Energy Clients and I hope you guys won’t get an awful experience same as myself.

I informed them in December 2017 I had four more people in my house, and my bill was exactly the same even though in December 2018 I had four less people, and I was out of town for over two weeks. Each and every one of them said "Can I see your electric bill?" This is what turned me off - wanting to see my information w/o presenting me some type of method of authenticating them. Today another solicitor stopped by, and I did show him my electric bill. He was looking for the charge per kilowatt hour, but could not find it. He had a contract with him to switch energy providers that he wanted me to sign. I refused, telling him that I needed to read, review, and research the company and the contract. He refused to provide me with a copy of a blank contract for review. Instead, he provided me with a 4-page "write-up".
He then started pressuring me saying, "I don't know if another representative will ever come back." That's when I started searching "Just Energy scam" on Google. I visited two different sites and looked at dozens of reviews, which fall into two major categories. Perfect or really, really bad. A few of the reviews indicate the company signs you up after they get the customer number on your bill. I am writing this as a review of my experience with the representative, and as documentation that I did NOT sign any contract. After having read all the "scam" reviews of this company, I would recommend that people not show their electric bills and that they ask for a blank copy of the contract to review. I would also suggest taking the photo of each representative.

I was with First Choice and I had the prepaid service with First Choice but they didn't have that anymore. The prepaid service worked better for me because I was paying on the go. So, I ended up going with Just Energy. I thought Just Energy would have been perfect for me because they gave me the flyer that says, "You get your free nights." And I'm like, "Oh, well, that will work because I'm home during the nighttime." But then my bill with Just Energy is $200, I've never paid a bill that high a day in my life. I live in a one bedroom and it's just me and my three-year-old and I work all day.
Then they false advertised that there are no deposits. Which, it turns out, I had to pay. I don't mind paying that but it's gonna confuse a lot of people. Also, I had an issue getting it hooked up because of a language barrier issue with a guy and a lady I talked to. If you have that type of job, you should be able to speak English properly. Despite all that, I would still recommend them.

First warning sign was a door to door salesman. Once we were signed up, we realized that our gas bill through PG&E was higher and that there was absolutely no savings whatsoever. In fact, we are paying a net increase of $30 more than if we made no changes and just stayed with PG&E. The salesman misrepresented that there would be a savings on our Natural Gas PG&E bill; not true at all. He also said that PG&E would only charge for delivery gas charges. This is true, but 95% of what PG&E charges is delivery charges, so there is no savings, but has resulted in an increase in our natural gas bill. Now I have to cancel this terrible contract which says there is a $150 cancellation charge. I am not sure how this company stays in business. I see a class action lawsuit in the future.

Just Energy has twice made major mistakes with my account. They cancelled my account twice and allowed another person to sign up for my account without providing me any notification that my account was being cancelled. When I called to talk to them about this the first agent hung up on me. When I called back the second time I was transferred to the wrong state and then had to talk to a third agent to get service. The agents are very rude; they are not helpful and don't want to work with you. They refuse to admit that they made a mistake. They think you are lying and will not help you. I would not use this company. I have switched to another provider, SCANA, and have received much better service.

Okay - this is the second time this has happened to me. I moved from one place into another place and got a balloon bill. This time around when I moved in January I made sure that I contact the company about the last bill from the last house that both bills will not be combined. I was informed and insured that it wouldn't be and that I had until July to pay that separate bill this month. I finally got my bill down to about $200. I get my bill online and it's almost $700 because they combined both bills.
Just Energy needs to keep their word and keep their promises and pay attention to the account and what was also arranged on the account before doing things like this. My plans on to contact their corporate or headquarters make some sort of payment arrangement and leave them for good. I have been feeling very uncomfortable with the contract that I have with them. I'm supposed to have free nights from 9 p.m. till 7 a.m. in the morning. I've been doing everything in my power to keep my bill down. I finally got my bill down to $200 this month and they decided that they wanted to put a 400 and some odd dollar bill combined with that as if a person who is dealing with a disabled child can pay that amount a bill at one time. The bill comes up to almost $700 now. I find this to be very unfair especially when I was informed that this will not happen. If you say I have until July to make the payment on a bill that was on a different home in that should be.

Thank you for speaking with me Mr. and Mrs. Harris. I'm happy we were able to come up with a resolution satisfactory for you. Call me if you need anything.

November 2018 I was approached by a Just Energy representative about switching my service. After going over their rates I decided to give them a try and allowed them to run my credit. They did not approve me for unknown reasons so I remained with my provider Gas South. Fast forward to February-March 2019 I receive a collection’s notice in the mail from Just Energy stating that I owe them $200+ or they will disconnect my service. This completely confused me as I do not have service with them and have continued to pay my provider Gas South without issue. I called Just Energy and they admitted fault and stated that they submitted a "ticket" to their back office to get this situation rectified and that I will hear back from them within a week. I never heard back from them.
Towards the end of March I contacted Gas South to make my payment and to figure out why my gas service was turned off. I was informed that my gas service was switched in February and that my new provider must have disconnected my service. I, in turn informed them that they are my only provider and that I had not switched my service and was baffled that something like this could happen without my consent. I called Just Energy AGAIN only to find out that the account is still active. They again admitted fault and stated that they will close the account immediately. I informed them that they would be responsible for any reconnection fees from Gas South as I had to open a new account with Gas South because they closed my account without my consent. They agreed and said to contact them in 30 days. That is unacceptable.
Today, April 12th 2019 I received a new disconnection notice from Just Energy stating that I owe them $241.88 and that they are going to disconnect my service on April 29th 2019. I attempted to call Just Energy again and their automated system stated that I owe them $445.31. That's a lot of money that NEVER provided any gas services. I just had my service turned back on by Gas South on April 10th because I had to wait for an appointment slot to connect the service again. At this point I am going to contact a lawyer. I've given them enough time and chances to fix their error.

I signed up for the service due to lack of info and the 100% guarantee from the salesperson that this would lower my bill with PG&E. After the first month my bill skyrocketed. I decided to give it some time to see if this was true and my bill would lower. Here I am month 3 with seriously high bills that I cannot afford to pay. I have never in my life paid this much for gas service. I live paycheck to paycheck. I call the company today demanding answers.
The guy had no idea what he was talking about. Told me if I cancel they will bill me $69. I ask for what? Give me answers about what I am actually paying for. He tells me he has no info and has to submit a service request. What? You can't tell me what I am being billed for? Wow. Asked for a supervisor or someone with more info 5 times and he refused to transfer me saying they would only give me the same info.
I work in customer service and if a customer is not happy and requests a supervisor I get one on the phone, bottom line. I feel bullied and upset and helpless. Still no answers. I would not use this company for two main reasons:
1. It is challenging to get anything done with them. It took me three phone calls to finally end my services with them even after my contract had officially ended.
2. Their automatic renewal service rates for gas and electricity were about 80% higher than any other competitors, which started automatically if they were not contacted after your contract end-date. Anti-virus subscriptions do this same tactic and it preys on those, such as older adults, who do not check their bills often as long as the gas/electricity is on.
I, for one, will not be coming back to their services.

The young female asked my wife who the provider was to which my wife replied, "I don't need to tell you." With that, the young female said that my wife was rude and felt sorry for her. My wife then closed the door.
Hearing this, I went outside to asking for her name and badge number due to her attitude with my wife. She immediately said that she was only doing her job, she was trained to rebuttal and that I was harassing her. She also pulled out her cell phone and said she was videoing me. This didn't bother me since I was still on my property and did not curse or threaten her. She never gave me her badge number. Oh yeah, there was another female salesperson across the street and she said she was calling the cops due to my harassment. My wife was already on the phone with the police and they stated there was no other call about this incident. If this is the way they train their salespeople I can only imagine how their customer service would be after a contract is signed.

When they came to my neighborhood promoting assistance for low income families, I was interested in what they were offering. I was told my gas bill would be reduced and save money especially because we were low income. I am a senior citizen on a limited income. Why would I sign up for a service where I am paying 2 payers? Paying 2 payers defeats the purpose of saving money. I was never told I would be paying two payers. Using these types of predator practices on seniors and low income people is an atrocity. Using the gas company to collect your fees is robbery, because I have to pay that bill if I want to continue to receive heat in my home for bathing, washing, eating and keeping my children, grandchildren and myself warm.
By adding yourself as a third party biller ensures your payment. I called in Feb and demanded to discontinue and nothing. I called again in March and same sing and dance about the billing cycle. I have not been able to buy meat, vitamins and children's' medication in order to pay your scamming fees. I am going to file a complaint to the CPUC because I want my money back that your company stole from me and the mouths of my children and grandchildren. The way it was explained to me was that I would no longer be paying PG&E for my gas and would instead be paying Just Energy a flat rate of about $45 every month all year. This would have been a bit of a savings as we only use about $18 to $24 a month for gas until winter time when PG&E jacks up rates and we and up paying $250 or more a month. Sounds great right? Well it would be great except that we are still paying PG&E the full amount plus the charges from Just Energy. Now our bills are even more. NO SAVINGS AT ALL!! I FEEL SCAMMED!

When we had gas with Just Energy, they were great and we didn't have a single problem. However, my family cancelled the service in favor of using Direct Energy instead. We paid our bills and thought that was going to be the end of it. Two years later, I received a bill in the amount of $947.80 for a family member who moved out. We tried calling Just Energy, and they told me they couldn't find how much we owed, nor how many months we were being billed for. Instead, they gave us a number for Skylink Receivables (a different one from the number on the letter). Now that family member faces a hit to her credit, and we still have no clue why the charge is there. (our energy bill is never higher than $150 a month) I have tried contacting Skylink Receivables, but there has been no answer. It is possible that this is just a scam letter. And I will remove this review if I find out.

This is very frustrating. Yes I did sign up for Just Energy, but I was also promised a savings for gas delivery to my home. I am frugal on electric and gas usage in my home. I am very careful how much I am using not to be wasteful. I make sure my family is the same way. This is for two reasons, 1. to save money and 2. to help with the climate. We don't like to be wasteful. So my bills have always been on the lower side. So when someone came along to help us save a little more money, why not right? Wrong.
The person came and said, "Your gas bill will be capped off to a certain amount." Great right? But they don't tell you, you will still be paying PG&E ALONG with Just Energy. So basically you're paying for PG&E (100%) AND Just Energy (100%) for gas delivery. No savings. Just double the amount in the bill. When, I made the switch, however, Just Energy offered a lower rate, contingent upon me agreeing to a new contract. He explained everything to us well and in detail so we could get a better understanding of what difference Just Energy would be compared to TXU. Just Energy's package offered free nights and we would get a lower electricity bill compared to what we had already. It seemed like a good deal, so we decided to give it a chance and switch to see if they were better for us and if there would be any difference in our light bill. We started using Just Energy in January and we're trying out the free nights plan to see if it would help us save money, and it has been doing okay for us so far. Our bill is lower and we’ve been satisfied with our bill.

The person who I bought my house from told me about Just Energy and since mostly everybody in my neighborhood has them, I decided to go with Just Energy as well. Whenever I called them, they were helpful and friendly. I had a blackout because the transformer blew out. I called Just Energy and their rep told me who to call and helped me out exactly when I needed to talk, so I enjoyed the service.

Hello Robby. We're thankful that you decided to enroll with Just Energy and we value your positive feedback. We strive to go above and beyond to service our customers. We look forward to growing our relationship with you.

I wish I could have given ZERO STARS. We had just bought our home out here in April of 2018. In Oct/Nov of 2018 two representatives came to our home knocking on our door and was talking to me about "Just Energy." They asked to see my gas bill and had explained that by getting Just Energy that my bill will be lowered and will not go up. However after months of having this company and not checking my bill, I finally logged into my SoCal gas bill and noticed that my bill was ridiculously high. I looked over the bill and my bill had nearly TRIPLED since I had JUST ENERGY. I have NEVER had a bill as high as this with SoCal gas in my whole life. I went from having normal billing charges of $17.30 a month to $181.20 to $249.92 a month. Total RIPOFF. I called SoCal gas which directed me to call Just Energy to cancel.
I called Just Energy and the guy who I spoke with sounded like this was a usual case of people calling in to complain because when I explained what was going on he sounded like he was familiar with this type of call. I asked for them to cancel and to send me a cancellation confirmation to make sure that I had my services cancelled. The only reason I gave this company a chance was because prior to this I had another salesman come to my home about solar panels which we went through with and they are actually saving us money. I thought this company was going to save us money but I was totally wrong. This company ends up increasing your bill way beyond what you'd normally be paying.
I am so disgusted with this company and today when I called Just Energy I told the representative that they should have their salespeople be honest about what they are doing because they are putting people in a hole with all this money instead of helping homeowners. All the lady could say was that they are investigating salespeople. What about all the money that we already paid because we trusted their salespeople saying it was going to help us? These representatives on the phone already know they are working for a horrible company that just scams people because you can just hear it in their voice and by how they handle the situations.
I will NEVER RECOMMEND JUST ENERGY to ANYONE. As a matter of fact don't even waste your time or your money because with all the money they will suck out of you, you could have put it toward your principal of your home or put that money aside for your children. I am very disappointed in this company. NEVER AGAIN though. Good luck all and please read all the reviews.

A lot of people go for TXU and they would say that the bills were ridiculously high. Yet, they’re still with that high bill. I’ve recommended Just Energy to a few of my friends. I’ve always told them that it’s a lot cheaper and better. It’s also more affordable for us.

As a former user of Just Energy, I paid gas fees online 2 times (10/30/18 and 12/3/18) by mistakes. I reported this to the customer executive on 12/18/18 and he said it would be take 3~4 weeks to get a return check. Because I didn't get the check I emailed to the customer service on 1/28/19. I got an reply that my request still in process. It's passed 2 months, I didn't get any confirmation email or a check. What I have to do to get my return check??

I joined Just Energy in October 2018. I have yet to experience the savings that they proposed I would have. In December I moved. I started my transfer process 12/21/18. Two weeks later I was finally able to complete the process. Now today, I'm trying to get my meter reread due to the excessively large bill. I'm told it will take up to 10 business days for this process to be completed. It's too expensive to keep them and too expensive to end my contract. They have me trapped into the contract. This is legal extortion. $405 for 1 month in a 2 bedroom 850 sq ft apartment with 1 adult and 1 child. I should have shopped more before deciding on these crooks.

My husband's name and social security number has been used fraudulently. When we seen that this company has sent a inquiry just last month we tried to call and make sure there was no open accounts in his name. The representative was rude and didn’t know what to do so he went to his supervisor which then said they could give out any info on accounts in his name. This is appalling. Someone can steal your identity, use it to set up an account and they never verify that it is the actual person. But refuse to help someone who has been a victim of identity theft!

Hello Shelby. We're sorry to hear about your negative experience with our customer service department and that your husband is a victim of identity theft. We take matters such as these seriously and seek to resolve them as soon as possible. Someone will be in touch with you shortly.

Im not even a customer and this company already has given a horrible experience. A sales rep came to my home and harassed my wife until she gave them my name to sign up which I never DID and now my home is without lights and I will be taking this matter to court if everything is not brought back to the way it is. Spoke to Bianca on the customer service line. The sales rep was Eli. I am very unhappy and disturbed that this happened to me without my consent. I am currently waiting on results of this issue.

Hello Victor. We regret that your wife was not provided with accurate information at enrollment. We have spoken to you and explained the reasons why the enrollment is authorized and your wife's request to terminate services with Just Energy. We value your short time with us and have submitted coaching to ensure that the agent that submitted your account's enrollment is retrained to ensure this does not happen again. You have no charges due to Just Energy and we're glad that you have gone back to your supplier of choice.

Worst comp ever... You wait about 30-45 mins just to get in contact with customer service... Can never speak with a manager... It’s like they're in a never ending meeting. I called this company to switch my account to nights free. They never did and charged me the wrong rate for 7 months... and only wanted to compensate for 3 months... And if you post any bad review on FB they block you from making further comments... DON'T GET THIS COMPANY.

Hello Monaya. We sorry to hear about your concerns with our customer service and billing department. Unfortunately, we do not have enough information to locate your account. We'll reach out to you via email shortly to gather additional details.

I've been with Just Energy for a little while now and their service has been good. I usually get satisfaction from whatever reason I might be calling. One thing that bothered me a little bit was the rate was a little higher than I was used to before the rates went up. I called a couple of times to try to get the rate reduced, and I wasn't successful there. I'll probably go out and shop for a better rate in the near future, but I'm hoping I can get a better rate to stay with Just Energy.

I was at Sam’s and a women approached me, after listening to her talk and her getting me on a phone with a rep that wanted me to answer yes or no on a recording but couldn’t correctly answer me himself. On a question he wanted me to say yes too. I said, "No. Cancel. I’m not signing up." A week later I got a letter in the mail from ComEd saying that I have switch to Just Energy. Which I did not do. So I called their number to find out that I was signed up and someone named Mary ** was added to my account. I asked to cancel and of course they tried to convince me to keep myself signed up. I told them, "Ok. If it cost me nothing alright. I’ll try it for a month." Then I hung up and decided to google the name and read reviews.
Well one of the first things that comes up is a fraud article and then I read all the reviews about same stories like mine that they didn’t sign up and how their bills went up a lot. So I called right back to cancel that very minute. Now this rep said that I was never signed up and it says declined in their system. I told her that I received the letter from ComEd saying I switched. She said no it’s been all taken care of, that I never did sign up and it was the other lady that did but got put on my account. She ensured me I wouldn’t be switched. When I got off the phone again I didn’t trust this that everything seemed weird. So I called ComEd. They told me yes I switched and that they would fix it so I wouldn’t be. Don’t trust this company. They don’t know what they are talking about. Plus they told me on the phone they run your credit to switch which I was never told that ever.

Hello David. We're sorry to hear about your negative experience with Just Energy. We'd like to confirm that no fraudulent activity led to any account creation using your information. Your enrollment was canceled as you requested during your verification call with a third-party company. We apologize that you were dissatisfied with this telephone agent's inability to answer your questions. This third party agency is only permitted to verify the information submitted by the enrolling agent. This telephone agent advised you to speak with the enrolling agent and you grew upset. Your enrollment was denied. Unfortunately, your address was batched with another customer's enrollment. This led to your electric utility account sending notice that your account would flow with Just Energy soon. This has since been cancelled and Just Energy will not reflect upon your billing invoice. You were correctly advised that no active account was listed under your name, but the accidental batching reflected under another Just Energy customer's name. We apologize for any frustration and inconvenience this has caused. Please contact Just Energy if you have any additional questions.

I recently found out that someone had falsely signed me up for Just Energy. I reported it to them. I was told that a check would be cut for all the money I paid in and that I would be cancelled. Well I got cancelled but got told that I would still need to pay my remaining balance and no check would be written. I said I didn't want a check that I wanted the remaining 215.00 to just be forgiven due to the fact that I NEVER approved or signed up for this service. I was told that the resolution would stay the same and that I had to pay the remaining balance. So be forewarned that ANY one can sign you up for this service if they have your information and Just Energy only cares about the money that they receive and not that fact that something very wrong happened. I will never suggest Just Energy to anyone!!!!

Run away from this company or anyone who says Just Energy, if you want to see call their support number first you will know what kind of service they provide. I was duped into this in my nearby SAM'S store, the person who sold this idea said my costs will be less than $6 and will never go up. First month went fine, from second month they started charging the max. When I called them and asked they say they calculated that price based on market price, at the same time Consumers Energy who is a distributor for these guys is providing the same gas for less.
