My experience with Just Energy is okay right now, but I'm still trying to get used to this auto-payment thing which I'm not really comfortable with too much. They told me that was the only way that I could get the services. Other than that, I was gonna have to pay a $300 deposit. I didn't like that part because I never had to do that. I have to keep monitoring when the payment is gonna come out of my account so I can make sure that the funds are in there. They don't allow you to get extensions too fast, so that's another thing that I didn't like. I had lost track of when I needed to call to get an extension, and it was too late. They wouldn't honor it.
I need to find out if there is a timeframe on this next payment that's coming up so I can make sure that the funds are in the account. The way they have it scheduled is before my actual payday so I have to try to remind myself to check it before they do the automatic draft out of my account. They don't like to split the payments up. They always try to do the full amount, but sometimes I may not be able to pay the full amount at that time. Also, some of the reps are really foreign and they don't speak real good English so we have a hard time communicating with them. When I call in, they try to move the date and a lot of times, they don't understand what I'm saying. I have to repeat it so many times with them.

Hello Sharnette. We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with your account's auto payment enrollment status. At the time of enrollment, a deposit was required but auto pay was entered to waive this. We apologize if this was an inconvenience to you at any time. Per your request, auto pay has been removed from your account and you will have additional freedom with payment extensions if needed.

My sister who works for Just Energy was telling me certain things and some perks. I only get disability and my baby gets a little bit of money, but it doesn't go far when it comes to the bill. She said I'll be receiving energy saving lights and stuff, and those things are needed. However, Just Energy is so hard to get in contact with. I haven't gotten my first bill since I've chosen them. I don't even know how it goes. I tried to get on the internet to research and look, but my phone wouldn't allow me to. Nonetheless, I already recommended Just Energy to 3 friends.

I needed another electrical company ASAP because my bill was super high with the one I had. I saw Just Energy in a local place. They were outside offering services. They showed me what they could offer and I said okay. Signing up online was quick and good. Plus, switching over was pretty easy. It took 15 minutes. The customer service representative was pretty great. She helped and explained everything. It was a good experience. Just Energy helped out pretty well.

I went to the Power To Choose Texas website, and then I was given options. I called them, and they recommended Just Energy. We are from Rhode Island, so our only option in Rhode Island is National Grid. Just Energy is solid compared to National Grid. They were wonky up there. Just Energy is consistent and without many problems. With National Grid, I’ve had a few issues. Rhode Island’s an older area, so a lot of the stuff up there is older. So, they would have to do equipment updates all the time, whether that be in the ground or on the lines. Also, Just Energy is a bit cheaper. I’m sure Rhode Island’s one of the highest cost for electricity and gas. Moreover, my experience with the team at Just Energy was good. Everyone was polite and knowledgeable.

I spoke to the guy at Sam’s Club and then I talked to somebody on the phone one time. We were supposed to get gas and our electric but through by Just Energy. Then they were supposed to send me gift cards for doing it for both of them and they only got me one. When I called, they just gave me a bunch of things on the phone so I just let it go. They explained that they were gonna lower my bill. Somebody’s gonna provide me power. Somebody’s gonna provide me gas. They’re all gonna charge me for it. I haven’t seen the results that I was expecting to see.

I've been with Just Energy for about six years on the same house but the kilowatt is so expensive right now. What I have before is like 10 something and the other lady gave me 14. The problem is the energy I got for somebody else, not on my name and that’s the reason I switched my name. However, the lady told me I can keep the kilowatt, like the same how in the receipt, on the name of that person so I’m keeping it like that.

I tried to pay my monthly bill through the app, I kept getting an error that said try again later. I tried three times, each time it froze the money in my account. I work in customer service, I'm aware sometimes this happens and usually the next day it'll drop off as there was no confirmation. Well, $357 from Just Energy was withdrawn from my account, causing my account to overdraft. My husband contacted their customer service to tell them of the mistake, was told there was nothing they could do because our bill doesn't show we've paid.

Hello Kenneth. We're sorry to hear about your recent experience when attempting to make a payment on 5/30/2019. You submitted three payments online. Due to an error, your payment processing/posting was delayed until 5/31/2019. We immediately began working to resolve this issue on 5/31/2019 by initiating a refund for your two over payments. Our customer service agent also submitted a request for this refund when speaking with you on 5/31/2019. We've attempted to contact you regarding this but had no success. I initially moved in with a friend that was using Just Energy in this apartment. I needed to call in to make the transition over to my name and that part was a little difficult. It was miscommunicated to my friend that I just had to call and change the name to my name, but in reality, we actually had to get him on the phone as well. If there was any way to do that online, probably it’d be the best option. Make that process a little bit easier just ‘cause it didn’t seem like it was that difficult. My friend was moving into another apartment and I've been here so I was just putting it in my name, but it seemed like it took a lot longer than it should have. It took quite a bit of time, but it wasn’t too bad. The lady I was on the phone with was really nice. It was a little bit difficult to understand her, but she was really sweet and she helped us. She was good.

Imagine your power is disconnected many days when you are on holiday for couple weeks. Come back in the dark with a cold house; stinky food in the fridge, freezer, and potential damage to your house in the future due to the cold happened to your house. You call your service provider and ask them why they disconnected your power without noticing you and they said they got the request to cancel your contract; obviously you did not ask to cancel it. You ask them to have your power back and they are saying their system is not able to connect the power back, what a joke!!! Absolutely, you have to take working hours off to deal with it to have your power turn on as soon as possible.
It was the experience I’ve had with JUST ENERGY in Alberta Canada couple months ago. I phoned them many times to ask their responsibility about this issue and it sounded like it is my issue, not theirs. Their responsibility is only to send the bill to me and continue to change my account without my permission. I’ve cancelled my first account with JUST ENERGY and applied with another provider. Here is another interesting thing I found: I paid the rate 6.99 cents/kWh (for electricity) and 4.09 $/GJ (for Gas) for many years without checking my bill. Now the rate I have with new provider is 6.29 cents/kWh (for electricity) and 3.69 $/GJ (for Gas) for 5 years plan. Check your bill and you will see what I’m saying.
You may think I am stupid to pay high rate and get the awful services. I have to admit that and fix it right away. I’m cancelling couple more family accounts with Just Energy and never use their service again. If you live in Alberta, you’ll agree with me these days are tough and why we have to pay money for this kind of services. Good luck to all Just Energy Clients and I hope you guys won’t get an awful experience same as myself.

Just Energy formerly known as Commerce Energy is a scam. They price gouge in winter months, and tell you Atlanta Gas And Lights make you pay a base fee depending on your usage. In December 2018 They told me my bill was over a hundred dollars because it was cold. I informed them in December 2017 I had four more people in my house, and my bill was exactly the same even though in December 2018 I had four less people, and I was out of town for over two weeks. They told me, "It's high because you used your heat when it was cold". I'm sorry. Did they miss the part of four less people gone for the holidays. Then I made a payment arrangement, and they turned me off anyway.
Customer service was so rude so I had to email them to get someone to hear me. Realizing it was their mistake they called me within an hour, or so saying someone would turn it back on the following day. My stove, and heat are gas. Not my hot water, or anything else. If it's one adult, two toddlers, and one other kid why is my bill $100+ dollars every month? I switched because of this to a new service last month, and will be fighting this bill. No matter what action I have to take. This is robbery period.

I was approached at a local Sam's Club with promises I would be money ahead by switching to Just Energy for supply. So I agreed and was told I would have to verify the supplier transfer by email before it would take effect. When I got home and read the contract, I realized the cost of the electricity was MUCH higher than what I was currently paying, so I never confirmed the email, and also called Just Energy that day to cancel, which was allowable under the contract, and was assured my contract would be cancelled. Now, three months or so later I get a letter from ComEd saying they are switching me to Just Energy, unless I call to stop it, which obviously I will do. You can decide for yourself if you think this is fraudulent or illegal.

Hello Robert. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by your enrollment with Just Energy. The enrolling agent provided you with correct information, but your account was due to become active due to an operational error. This was not the fault of the enrolling agent. Your agreement has since been cancelled and confirmation was received from the utility that your services will not become active with Just Energy at any time.

Like others, I signed up for this thinking it would save money on my gas bill. Rather, I was charged the flat rate that was quoted to me AND the delivery charges by PG&E, which is what the salesman misrepresented at the time I signed up for this. Just Energy Solutions essentially collects $23/month for absolutely nothing. You might as well light your money on fire, because that is what you are doing when you sign up for this service.

We appreciate your feed back, and we are looking into your concerns.

I've had people from Just Energy coming to my apartment for over 1 year, and I brushed them off. There were at least six (6) solicitors during that period. Each and every one of them said "Can I see your electric bill?" This is what turned me off - wanting to see my information w/o presenting me some type of method of authenticating them. Today another solicitor stopped by, and I did show him my electric bill. He was looking for the charge per kilowatt hour, but could not find it. He had a contract with him to switch energy providers that he wanted me to sign. I refused, telling him that I needed to read, review, and research the company and the contract. He refused to provide me with a copy of a blank contract for review. Instead, he provided me with a 4-page "write-up".
He then started pressuring me saying, "I don't know if another representative will ever come back." That's when I started searching "Just Energy scam" on Google. I visited two different sites and looked at dozens of reviews, which fall into two major categories. Perfect or really, really bad. A few of the reviews indicate the company signs you up after they get the customer number on your bill. I am writing this as a review of my experience with the representative, and as documentation that I did NOT sign any contract. After having read all the "scam" reviews of this company, I would recommend that people not show their electric bills and that they ask for a blank copy of the contract to review. I would also suggest taking the photo of each representative.

When a Just Energy representative came knocking on my door, I originally had Direct Energy. The Just Energy rep told me they were cheaper. I liked the rep. They caught me at a good time and I took the leap. Getting set up with them was really easy. We were in an apartment so the bill was just $5 cheaper and wasn’t a big difference. But now, we moved to a house and I'm trying to see if the bill is gonna way cheaper than what I could have just stayed with.
I told Just Energy that I needed to switch from the apartment to the house but stay with the same account. But I had to move the energy before my lease was up at my apartment and right now, I have two accounts. It hasn’t given me trouble, but I wonder if I could use my perks if they join the accounts together instead of me making two different accounts. I haven't got my first bill yet, but so far, they have been very reasonable and my rate stayed the same. Plus, since they send me emails letting me know how much I spent in a week, I've been able to plan my checks, which has really helped me a lot. So far, my experience with Just Energy has been good.

This guy SEEMED nice but mumbled his name and the name of his company. Trust me Close the door on these sales reps. Do not show them your PG&E bill ever! 1st thing they ask for is your bill and You are automatically signed up with them once they get access to your PG&E ID or your PG&E account number, and then they start charging you and you don’t know anything about it until you get a bill or you get a collection notice in the mail. My sales rep said he worked for PG&E, he brought PG&E.com up on his laptop and showed me the practices that he was trying to participate in as far as saving gas for the consumer. He took us to the third-party Vendor page which is on PG&E.com. PG&E provided those numbers because those are the numbers that you have to call when these people charge you for service you didn’t sign up for.

We certainly appreciate your concerns. We have investigated the matter with our sales leads to ensure that our marketing standards and expectations are continuously being maintained, at all times.

They told only when my service is active on April 22nd, they will get me the best rate available online. Called again post April 22nd and I was told they can't do anything on rate (even if online rate is lower) as I signed up at Sam's. And I'm like, "Oh, well, that will work because I'm home during the nighttime." But then my bill with Just Energy is $200, I've never paid a bill that high a day in my life. I live in a one bedroom and it's just me and my three-year-old and I work all day.
Then they false advertised that there are no deposits. Which, it turns out, I had to pay. I don't mind paying that but it's gonna confuse a lot of people. In fact, we are paying a net increase of $30 more than if we made no changes and just stayed with PG&E. The salesman misrepresented that there would be a savings on our Natural Gas PG&E bill; not true at all. He also said that PG&E would only charge for delivery gas charges. This is true, but 95% of what PG&E charges is delivery charges, so there is no savings, but has resulted in an increase in our natural gas bill. Okay - this is the second time this has happened to me. I moved from one place into another place and got a balloon bill. This time around when I moved in January I made sure that I contact the company about the last bill from the last house that both bills will not be combined. I was informed and insured that it wouldn't be and that I had until July to pay that separate bill this month. I finally got my bill down to about $200. I get my bill online and it's almost $700 because they combined both bills.
Just Energy needs to keep their word and keep their promises and pay attention to the account and what was also arranged on the account before doing things like this. My plans on to contact their corporate or headquarters make some sort of payment arrangement and leave them for good. I have been feeling very uncomfortable with the contract that I have with them. I'm supposed to have free nights from 9 p.m. till 7 a.m. in the morning. I've been doing everything in my power to keep my bill down. I finally got my bill down to $200 this month and they decided that they wanted to put a 400 and some odd dollar bill combined with that as if a person who is dealing with a disabled child can pay that amount a bill at one time. The bill comes up to almost $700 now. I find this to be very unfair especially when I was informed that this will not happen. If you say I have until July to make the payment on a bill that was on a different home in that should be.

They did not approve me for unknown reasons so I remained with my provider Gas South. Fast forward to February-March 2019 I receive a collection’s notice in the mail from Just Energy stating that I owe them $200+ or they will disconnect my service. This completely confused me as I do not have service with them and have continued to pay my provider Gas South without issue. I called Just Energy and they admitted fault and stated that they submitted a "ticket" to their back office to get this situation rectified and that I will hear back from them within a week. I never heard back from them.
Towards the end of March I contacted Gas South to make my payment and to figure out why my gas service was turned off. I was informed that my gas service was switched in February and that my new provider must have disconnected my service. I, in turn informed them that they are my only provider and that I had not switched my service and was baffled that something like this could happen without my consent. I called Just Energy AGAIN only to find out that the account is still active. They again admitted fault and stated that they will close the account immediately. I informed them that they would be responsible for any reconnection fees from Gas South as I had to open a new account with Gas South because they closed my account without my consent. They agreed and said to contact them in 30 days. That is unacceptable.
Today, April 12th 2019 I received a new disconnection notice from Just Energy stating that I owe them $241.88 and that they are going to disconnect my service on April 29th 2019. I attempted to call Just Energy again and their automated system stated that I owe them $445.31. That's a lot of money that NEVER provided any gas services. I just had my service turned back on by Gas South on April 10th because I had to wait for an appointment slot to connect the service again. At this point I am going to contact a lawyer. I've given them enough time and chances to fix their error.

Just Energy's representative at Niagara Falls Sam's Club did not tell me what I was getting into. She made it sound like I was getting a free gift card just because I pay my National Fuel and Niagara Mohawk bill every month. I’m not a Sam's Club member. She didn't say anything about me switching suppliers. I went along with it, thinking I will get a gift card out of it. Then I got an email with the details that said I have verified that I'm changing suppliers. But I never said anything about that nor did I ever agree to that. So I called National Fuel and National Grid and I told them to put a block on it, and they did. When I went back to Sam's Club to face the rep, she said she explained that all to me. But she never said anything about that. She said there were no strings attached, and we would get the gift card for being a Sam's Club member and having National Fuel and National Grid.

For starters they have these guys going door to door impeding on people's lives to promise things they do not deliver. I signed up for the service due to lack of info and the 100% guarantee from the salesperson that this would lower my bill with PG&E. After the first month my bill skyrocketed. I decided to give it some time to see if this was true and my bill would lower. Here I am month 3 with seriously high bills that I cannot afford to pay. I have never in my life paid this much for gas service. I live paycheck to paycheck. I call the company today demanding answers.
The guy had no idea what he was talking about. Told me if I cancel they will bill me $69. I ask for what? Give me answers about what I am actually paying for. He tells me he has no info and has to submit a service request. What? You can't tell me what I am being billed for? Wow. Asked for a supervisor or someone with more info 5 times and he refused to transfer me saying they would only give me the same info.
I work in customer service and if a customer is not happy and requests a supervisor I get one on the phone, bottom line. I feel bullied and upset and helpless. Still no answers. If these guys show up at your door don't answer. I want to save anyone I can the hassle I am going through. I also called PGE who says Just Energy is a legitimate company but they can't help me either. This is unacceptable.

I would not use this company for two main reasons:
1. It is challenging to get anything done with them. It took me three phone calls to finally end my services with them even after my contract had officially ended.
2. Their automatic renewal service rates for gas and electricity were about 80% higher than any other competitors, which started automatically if they were not contacted after your contract end-date. Anti-virus subscriptions do this same tactic and it preys on those, such as older adults, who do not check their bills often as long as the gas/electricity is on.
I, for one, will not be coming back to their services.

A salesman rang my doorbell and asked to speak to who pays the energy bill. I asked why? He said they needed to see the bill because of deregulation in California and that they could save me on my energy bill. I asked him to take my address off his list and he said they only way he could take my address off his list was if he could see the electric bill. This company sends out its salesmen and then lies to try to get your business. I would never trust a company that does this. I am going to record the next one that comes to my door.

A young female came to our door promoting Just Energy. Answering the door, I listened to her pitch and then asked for a business card or literature about the company. She replied that it had been a long day and did not have either. About that time my wife, who was working out stopped, came to the door (I went back to watching the evening news) and stated that we were not interested and were very happy with our current provider. The young female asked my wife who the provider was to which my wife replied, "I don't need to tell you." With that, the young female said that my wife was rude and felt sorry for her. My wife then closed the door.
Hearing this, I went outside to asking for her name and badge number due to her attitude with my wife. She immediately said that she was only doing her job, she was trained to rebuttal and that I was harassing her. She also pulled out her cell phone and said she was videoing me. This didn't bother me since I was still on my property and did not curse or threaten her. She never gave me her badge number. Oh yeah, there was another female salesperson across the street and she said she was calling the cops due to my harassment. My wife was already on the phone with the police and they stated there was no other call about this incident. If this is the way they train their salespeople I can only imagine how their customer service would be after a contract is signed.

Just Energy was recommended by a friend who has them and I have been with the company for about a year and a half now. My experience with them has been good. I’ve had TXU and other ones, but it is easier for me with Just Energy than any other companies. However, the monthly billing is a little more expensive than the pay-as-you-go deal that they had, but it is still better pricing than the other companies -- they are the best-priced in comparison to the rest. I liked it a lot better when it was on the prepaid plan, though. It was a lot cheaper for me that way.

When they came to my neighborhood promoting assistance for low income families, I was interested in what they were offering. I was told my gas bill would be reduced and save money especially because we were low income. I am a senior citizen on a limited income. Why would I sign up for a service where I am paying 2 payers? Paying 2 payers defeats the purpose of saving money. I was never told I would be paying two payers. Using these types of predator practices on seniors and low income people is an atrocity. Using the gas company to collect your fees is robbery, because I have to pay that bill if I want to continue to receive heat in my home for bathing, washing, eating and keeping my children, grandchildren and myself warm.
By adding yourself as a third party biller ensures your payment. I called in Feb and demanded to discontinue and nothing. I called again in March and same sing and dance about the billing cycle. I have not been able to buy meat, vitamins and children's' medication in order to pay your scamming fees. I am going to file a complaint to the CPUC because I want my money back that your company stole from me and the mouths of my children and grandchildren. Also, I am going to contact a class action attorney to review your practices and show them all the complaints of fraud, misleading, falsely representing your services.

When the Just Energy rep. came to our door to offer us a new service for our natural gas delivery, I was very interested in what he had to say. The way it was explained to me was that I would no longer be paying PG&E for my gas and would instead be paying Just Energy a flat rate of about $45 every month all year. This would have been a bit of a savings as we only use about $18 to $24 a month for gas until winter time when PG&E jacks up rates and we and up paying $250 or more a month. Sounds great right? Well it would be great except that we are still paying PG&E the full amount plus the charges from Just Energy. Now our bills are even more. NO SAVINGS AT ALL!! I FEEL SCAMMED!

When we had gas with Just Energy, they were great and we didn't have a single problem. However, my family cancelled the service in favor of using Direct Energy instead. We paid our bills and thought that was going to be the end of it. Two years later, I received a bill in the amount of $947.80 for a family member who moved out. We tried calling Just Energy, and they told me they couldn't find how much we owed, nor how many months we were being billed for. Instead, they gave us a number for Skylink Receivables (a different one from the number on the letter). Now that family member faces a hit to her credit, and we still have no clue why the charge is there. (our energy bill is never higher than $150 a month) I have tried contacting Skylink Receivables, but there has been no answer. It is possible that this is just a scam letter. And I will remove this review if I find out.

This is very frustrating. Yes I did sign up for Just Energy, but I was also promised a savings for gas delivery to my home. I am frugal on electric and gas usage in my home. I am very careful how much I am using not to be wasteful. I make sure my family is the same way. This is for two reasons, 1. to save money and 2. to help with the climate. We don't like to be wasteful. So my bills have always been on the lower side. So when someone came along to help us save a little more money, why not right? Wrong.
The person came and said, "Your gas bill will be capped off to a certain amount." Great right? But they don't tell you, you will still be paying PG&E ALONG with Just Energy. So basically you're paying for PG&E (100%) AND Just Energy (100%) for gas delivery. No savings. Just double the amount in the bill. Bad news for people trying to save money and raise a family in difficult times. I really wished I looked better into this. Cannot trust ANYONE these days.

I've been with them for just over 2 years now and have received about $200 in rewards. I was just surprised by how much it went up (the fixed rate) after the first 2 year contract (which I was ecstatic that it was that long). But, the CSR that I spoke with about the change actually took the time out to go over my energy bills over the past year to assist me in figuring out the best option in renewing. I'm glad they remind you to give 30 days notice if you're going to cancel. I just wish I could get a bonus for all of the people I referred to them. So this guy named Ahmad from Just Energy explained how Just Energy was a flat rate of $35.99 a month. How I should stop paying PG&E because their rates went up. Looked at my recent bill from PG&E ($171.18) and said his company could offer me a flat rate of just 35.99. Sounded great, I knew there was catch. He failed to mention, I’d still pay PG&E the same thing. My first bill came from “Just Energy” so I am paying Just Energy $35.99 plus tax and also still paying PG&E $184.21. Such a rip off. So I called to cancel with Just Energy and they said it will take 3 billing cycles to cancel. So I’ll pay them their flat rate of $35.99 plus tax on top of my regular PG&E bill. I AM MIND BLOWN! I chose Just Energy, and the first year, the prices were reasonable. Afterwards, the bills were astronomically high. I, eventually, decided to switch to another energy company that provides great service at less than half of the cost of Just Energy! When, I made the switch, however, Just Energy offered a lower rate, contingent upon me agreeing to a new contract. As a former loyal customer, I feel that this offer should have been presented to me after the first year, not after the frustration of paying inflated rates over the years. Nonetheless, I did not accept their offer, and I switched to a new provider. So now, there's the "last bill" issue. Well, they sent one bill & additional bill a couple of days later.
I do not agree with the charges, but I am attempting to make a good faith effort to speak with a supervisor. I've been on the phone now for approximately 2 hours waiting for a supervisor. In fact, I'm writing this review as I wait. Wow!!! I've been on hold for so long, that Just Energy disconnected the call. I wish I could have given ZERO STARS. We had just bought our home out here in April of 2018. In Oct/Nov of 2018 two representatives came to our home knocking on our door and was talking to me about "Just Energy." They asked to see my gas bill and had explained that by getting Just Energy that my bill will be lowered and will not go up. However after months of having this company and not checking my bill, I finally logged into my SoCal gas bill and noticed that my bill was ridiculously high. I looked over the bill and my bill had nearly TRIPLED since I had JUST ENERGY. I have NEVER had a bill as high as this with SoCal gas in my whole life. I went from having normal billing charges of $17.30 a month to $181.20 to $249.92 a month. Total RIPOFF. I called SoCal gas which directed me to call Just Energy to cancel.
I called Just Energy and the guy who I spoke with sounded like this was a usual case of people calling in to complain because when I explained what was going on he sounded like he was familiar with this type of call. I asked for them to cancel and to send me a cancellation confirmation to make sure that I had my services cancelled. The only reason I gave this company a chance was because prior to this I had another salesman come to my home about solar panels which we went through with and they are actually saving us money. I thought this company was going to save us money but I was totally wrong. This company ends up increasing your bill way beyond what you'd normally be paying.
I am so disgusted with this company and today when I called Just Energy I told the representative that they should have their salespeople be honest about what they are doing because they are putting people in a hole with all this money instead of helping homeowners. All the lady could say was that they are investigating salespeople. What about all the money that we already paid because we trusted their salespeople saying it was going to help us? These representatives on the phone already know they are working for a horrible company that just scams people because you can just hear it in their voice and by how they handle the situations.
I will NEVER RECOMMEND JUST ENERGY to ANYONE. As a matter of fact don't even waste your time or your money because with all the money they will suck out of you, you could have put it toward your principal of your home or put that money aside for your children. I am very disappointed in this company. NEVER AGAIN though. Good luck all and please read all the reviews.

I was at Sam’s and a women approached me, after listening to her talk and her getting me on a phone with a rep that wanted me to answer yes or no on a recording but couldn’t correctly answer me himself. On a question he wanted me to say yes too. I said, "No. Cancel. I’m not signing up." A week later I got a letter in the mail from ComEd saying that I have switch to Just Energy. Which I did not do. So I called their number to find out that I was signed up and someone named Mary ** was added to my account. I asked to cancel and of course they tried to convince me to keep myself signed up. I told them, "Ok. If it cost me nothing alright. I’ll try it for a month." Then I hung up and decided to google the name and read reviews.
Well one of the first things that comes up is a fraud article and then I read all the reviews about same stories like mine that they didn’t sign up and how their bills went up a lot. So I called right back to cancel that very minute. Now this rep said that I was never signed up and it says declined in their system. I told her that I received the letter from ComEd saying I switched. She said no it’s been all taken care of, that I never did sign up and it was the other lady that did but got put on my account. She ensured me I wouldn’t be switched. When I got off the phone again I didn’t trust this that everything seemed weird. So I called ComEd. They told me yes I switched and that they would fix it so I wouldn’t be. Don’t trust this company. They don’t know what they are talking about. Plus they told me on the phone they run your credit to switch which I was never told that ever.

Hello David. We're sorry to hear about your negative experience with Just Energy. We'd like to confirm that no fraudulent activity led to any account creation using your information. Your enrollment was canceled as you requested during your verification call with a third-party company. We apologize that you were dissatisfied with this telephone agent's inability to answer your questions. This third party agency is only permitted to verify the information submitted by the enrolling agent. This telephone agent advised you to speak with the enrolling agent and you grew upset. Your enrollment was denied. Unfortunately, your address was batched with another customer's enrollment. This led to your electric utility account sending notice that your account would flow with Just Energy soon. This has since been cancelled and Just Energy will not reflect upon your billing invoice. You were correctly advised that no active account was listed under your name, but the accidental batching reflected under another Just Energy customer's name. We apologize for any frustration and inconvenience this has caused. Please contact Just Energy if you have any additional questions.

I recently found out that someone had falsely signed me up for Just Energy. I reported it to them. I was told that a check would be cut for all the money I paid in and that I would be cancelled. Well I got cancelled but got told that I would still need to pay my remaining balance and no check would be written. I said I didn't want a check that I wanted the remaining 215.00 to just be forgiven due to the fact that I NEVER approved or signed up for this service. I was told that the resolution would stay the same and that I had to pay the remaining balance. So be forewarned that ANY one can sign you up for this service if they have your information and Just Energy only cares about the money that they receive and not that fact that something very wrong happened. I will never suggest Just Energy to anyone!!!!

Run away from this company or anyone who says Just Energy, if you want to see call their support number first you will know what kind of service they provide. I was duped into this in my nearby SAM'S store, the person who sold this idea said my costs will be less than $6 and will never go up. First month went fine, from second month they started charging the max. When I called them and asked they say they calculated that price based on market price, at the same time Consumers Energy who is a distributor for these guys is providing the same gas for less.

Just Energy mentioned that their rate was going to be lower. I'm planning to give them a call because the rate is a little bit different and the amount of each statement has been around the same or a little bit above. The only interactions I've had so far with them were when I signed up and one time when I called to inquire about the future billing, and those conversations were good experiences.

Extremely disappointed in how Just Energy supports their existing customers. They were chosen many years ago as an alternative natural gas supplier to North Shore Gas. Just realized that they do not automatically lower their rate when it drops. They stated that if the customer does not contact them, they will continue to charge at the higher, original contract rate, even if that original rate is double the current rate. The customer should be aware, but who understands costs per therm? Just Energy should not have taken advantage of this, but instead supported a customer who chose to continue to do business with them. It's hard enough to battle with increasing cable bills, phone bills, etc, but then to feel taken advantage of after learning about how the gas bill works just makes me hope that others stop using Just Energy and find that it's probably better to stick with your natural gas distributor like North Shore Gas or People's Gas.

We switched to Just Energy because their sales rep told us it won't affect our bill charges but they'll give us a Sam's Club gift card every year. Since we were told that our bill would still be the same, we switched. BUT, soon they started charging way too much for the 'additional service charges ' and they were twice the usage charges. We were paying $250 for the same usage we once paid $100 for with a different supplier. We asked their customer service what those additional charges are and they never told us. They would hold us off and never give us the proper answer. It's illegal to charge for something you CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN! I hope they get sued. Worst. Experience. Ever.

A sales rep knocked on my door and told me that he works for Just Energy and he can lower my bill down to $37. He claims that his company is an affiliate with PG&E. He asked me to sign up to receive an offer from PG&E, which I did. Then I received an email from Just Energy asking me to finalize the process. I looked through the website, the sales rep kept interrupting my reading but I noticed that it wasn't just for the offer but it was the agreement to start service. At which point, I told him that I was in a hurry and would look over it later. He kept pushing, said that it had to be done right away. So I declined. The next morning, I received an email asking me to finalize the process (it looks identical to the email I received the night before). I ignore that email. I have never heard or had no knowledge of what this company was. WE never spoke to anyone or any representative to accept or hear about this company. Somehow we got enrolled to this company and didn't find out till I got my latest bill that was ridiculously high. I saw third party charges on my bill and for the first time I saw the name Just Energy on my bill. I called the gas company and they said they have nothing to do with this change and to call this company directly to get to the bottom of what happened. I did just that and they said they would launch an investigation to see who authorized the transfer.
I am 100% certain it was not me or my brother who are the only ones authorized to make changes on our account, therefore I am curious to see who they claim to have spoken to and got an authorization from because it wasn't from the account holders who should be the ONLY ones to make such changes. This baffling and quite fraudulent if you ask me. Never heard of this company in my life and I know that I am not the only person with such complaint. I was told the account is cancelled for now but to call back in two weeks to when the investigation is completed to make sure the account is cancelled and that I don't have to pay anything from the bill. I hope this is true and I hope I am switched back to my original gas provider as I never asked to be switched in the first place. So upsetting and violating.

I was at Sam's and heard about Just Energy. The reps at the club were very professional and impressed the heck out of me. They weren’t pushy, which in a lot of sales things, they are. I don’t like high-pressure sales. Also, Just Energy's prices are a bit better than my provider, which is ComEd. I like the fact that I get them cheaper because of bulk rates.
The only issue I had with Just Energy was I felt I was a little misled on the gift card promotion when they were doing it at Sam’s. I was under the understanding that I was supposed to get a $50 gift card, but I ended up getting a $20 or $25 one. But I’m not worried about it because when I contacted Just Energy, they said that the $50 was supposed to be for both switching my electric and my natural gas. I must have misunderstood with the lady that I talked to at Sam's. It might have been partially my fault so it's not a big deal.

I have been working with Just Energy for some time now. Before, I had a pre-paid account that was great, told me how much I used every day and saved me a ton of money being able to keep up with it like that. 4 months ago, I had to move for work and Customer support convinced me that I had to close the previous pre-paid account because it wouldn't let me transfer to a new address. Now, I am realizing that this is because they wanted to get rid of the account and not because I was moving. I believe they discontinued the pre-paid accounts because they feel like they weren't making enough money off of them. This is beside the point.
I called in two weeks after because I was unable to log into my new account to see my usage. Customer support told me that there was no new account. So instead of being able to just get my account active and working, they were obligated to "launch an investigation", which they tell me was to see who cancelled the account and whether or not it was something I actually approved. Despite the implication of being called a liar, I decided to stay with them as I really appreciated the service I got with the pre-paid account.
Every week after that I got a call from someone claiming to be from Just Energy DEMANDING payment. They knew exactly how much my bill was for and had no notes on the active case. I just called in today as I received an email stating the investigation was over and that I could go ahead and pay my bill now. Yes, they continued to charge me for electricity while they were running their "investigation". While speaking with an agent named "Bryan", he went through the process of trying to just open a new account on my email address (without my permission) and got the same response I did which was that it couldn't be done because my email address was already attached to the old account.
I asked if they could detach the address because I no longer live there and Bryan said he could not. I asked to escalate the issue and he told me that someone maybe get back to me in a week. When I asked for his credentials and demanded to speak with a supervisor, Bryan continued to talk over me and tell me that he was not going to do that. He wasn't going to let me talk to anyone else and he wasn't going to give me his identifying information. He tried to just ignore me for five minutes so I would assume he hung up and I would hang up myself, but I know they are not allowed to hang up on us so I waited on the line.
5 minutes later, the hold music came back on and I had to restart the process over again. I eventually talked with another agent who tried to get me to pay the bill again before I had to get a little louder when asking for a supervisor. Every time I call Just Energy, they don't want to help, they just ask for me to pay. And my bill isn't even due for another couple of days!
The supervisor I spoke to after that Camila tells me that no one would ever call from Just Energy to demand payment and that I should ignore those calls. I explained that they knew exactly how much my bill was for and that the evidence points to a data leak in the Just Energy network and that I wanted to know how to eliminate all of my information from their system and cancel my account/s. She told me that someone would be getting back to me through email and that they were going to try and improve on the customer service for me. She hastily got off the phone after asking me if there was anything else she could do for me and I responded by saying, "If that's really all you can do then I guess not."
She was supposed to be a supervisor and instead it was just another agent trying to push me off the call without any results. I'm still left here just waiting for an email from some random department that apparently doesn't have a direct phone line. Just Energy has leaked my data to malicious people who called and demanded money from me and then just apologized and told me not to give my info out. Just Energy has consistently given me bad customer service. Just Energy has given me shady service. I've never had such shady, terrible customer service with any company in my entire life.
Also, they continued to charge my pre-paid account despite having 30 dollars left on the account, after I moved out and only refunded what was left to the new account when it got all the way down to 2 dollars and some change. Basically they just didn't close my account out for almost three weeks after I moved and continued to bill that whole time.

We're sorry to hear about your negative experience with our customer service department Matthew. Just Energy takes such matters seriously and will ensure all agents are coached to provide correct and critical information at all times. Your concerns were not addressed timely and we apologize for this. We thank you for your patience while we worked to review what led to your account issues when moving residences. I was told that I would only get one bill from Just Energy however I received a bill from SoCalGas which had their price for the month and also had a prize for Just Energy SoCalGas price was less than Just Energy as well as their charge per wattage was lower. Just Energy was always higher and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
I've then canceled my service after 3 months only to be bombarded with emails and when I was told at the time of cancellation that my account would be credited the amount of my last bill he then had to open up a ticket to listen to the conversation between the customer service rep and myself. I told him to please do so because they were on speakerphone and I had witnesses to the fact of what I was told and had no reason to lie. Still waiting at this point on the results whether they'll take off the amount owed of $37.92 or not!
However at the end of the phone call the gentleman asked me if I refer friend I get a $25 credit. I would not refer my dog. I had to contact the PUC in order for someone to finally reach out!!!
Set up a payment plan and we were good until the December payment was 2 days late reaching them because of holiday mail! Every other company I have dealt with has been very understanding in that type of situation because it's not my fault or theirs. The mail was slow... But yet they didn't care. So I had disputed a charge with Just Energy back in September 2018. They charged me $191 for a month of power in a 1 bedroom apartment, which was odd (also $161 the following month). It turns out that my contract had expired and they decided to jack my rate up for no reason. The thing was, they never notified me that my rate would increase post contract, nor, did they send me ANY notification that my contract was up.
After roughly 10 hours on the phone with 6 different agents (all of them were rude and indifferent), they agreed to re-rate me at the correct rate if I signed for another year, which I did. They agreed to only re-rate me for the first overcharge however ($191) NOT the 2nd overcharge. Like any sane person, I asked them to re-rate the 2nd charge... 2 different customer service agents said they would absolutely not.
Since they said no, I decided to dispute the charge with AMEX. AMEX got back to me and said that Just Energy was not responding to their request for an explanation so the $100 credit on my AMEX remained. I figured we were all square. Nope... I saw that my December bill was for $181! I knew that they were up to their old trick so I called Just Energy. It turns out that they later decided to Re-rate me and not tell me about it... I'll say it again, not even a freaking email to tell me that they re-rated me! This was after they told me, rudely, that they would NOT re-rate me! They charged me the $100 that I had disputed, fair enough, they fixed the issue, I'm happy to pay that $100. They added a $25 fee, get this, as a penalty for disputing the charge! A PENALTY FOR DISPUTING THE CHARGE. Now I frankly don't care about the $25... It's the principle. You cannot be this rude and non-communicative with customers and keep their business.
So today, I spent 2 hours on the phone with 3 different reps (I never asked for different reps... They kept transferring me because me call was taking too long... I will type that again so that you fully get it... THEY KEPT TRANSFERRING ME BECAUSE HELPING THEIR CUSTOMER WAS TAKING TOO MUCH OF THEIR TIME). That is psychotic. Anyway, they refused to refund the $25. I will be leaving for another power company as soon as I get time to do so.
HEED MY WARNINGS... PAY MORE MONEY TO A DIFFERENT POWER COMPANY, DON'T USE JUST ENERGY. You will feel better being treated like a human being and not a pest, it is worth paying more! If you want to picture the experience talking to a Just Energy rep on the phone, I will paint one for you. Imagine an indifferent, sullen, angry teenager, who hates their job, trying to get you off of the phone as quickly as possible and truly not caring if your issue is solved or if you are satisfied as their customer. Speaking with Just Energy is like a day the DMV.

Just Energy pays the same and I get discounts because I am a Sam’s Club member. The representative handled most of the signup process as long as I had the bills. I had to give them bills so I can give them the correct information. I didn’t have the bill at first though, so I had to go back and make an additional trip to the store to talk about the bill. It really wasn’t that hard of a setup for me. But I wasn’t able to set up the points system, which was difficult for me. And I'm still having a hard time setting up the points.
It was explained to me that the service will be maintained until I cancel it. I didn’t know there was a contract though. I’m not 100% sure but it was explained to me that if I wanted to cancel and I could call any time and cancel it. But I wasn’t informed that there was a monthly subscription. My wife and I shop at Sam's Club and were sold on a free gift card for switching our electricity provider and offered lower rates than Com-Ed. It was all BS. We get our bill and our rate is jacked to NYMEX divided by 100 + 5.79. MP THANKS! Then when you call to cancel you're on the phone for close to an hour because they want you to give up. Then they try and offer you so called cheaper plans. I'm done with this company. What a scam.

There was a representative at Sam's Club who told me about Just Energy and how it worked. I signed up with them and so far it’s been great. It was a seamless transition. It was just a change of our bill one day. I like that the energy is coming from more wind and more solar. I also like the perks. Every month we collect bonus points, and then we can apply them to either a gift card or other discounts. I don’t get anything like that from National Grid. I would recommend Just Energy.

I said your company says I must call. Again, dont worry... I get my final bill plus $300 cancel fee. These people seem to try and trick you into these little traps. My family just had a horrible experience with Just Energy on December 5, 2018. Our power was cut off because Just Energy wrongfully switched us over from our main energy provider when we decided to not finalize the energy agreement on Nov. 30th, 2018. We were approached on Nov. 27th by an energy provider and was told about Just Energy. This individual told us that we had 3 days to decide on the energy agreement and that we can call to just cancel. I called on Nov. 30th to cancel the agreement and was told that the agreement was cancelled and that there was nothing to worry about.
However, I found out this week that an account was made for us and that it was active. I called again on Dec. 5th to finally cancel the account because it was not cancelled as promised on Nov. 30th. I was NOT told that Just Energy switched us to their energy service so because I cancelled the account, our electricity got turned off. When this happened, I called Oncor and they told me that on Nov. 30th, the day I called to cancel the agreement for the account, Just Energy switched us from our original energy provider.
I need to know why this happened? Why was the agreement not terminated as requested, especially when we were told that we had 3 days to decide on the agreement? Why was an active account made for us? Why were we switched over? This would not have happened if the agreement was cancelled when originally contacted. I also have confirmation numbers for the calls that I made to Just Energy on Nov. 30th and Dec. 5th because I want to report this unethical issue. To be home with my family and have the house blackout was shocking. I will be waiting for an explanation, thank you for your time.

I received my annual renewal notification which had 2 options of rates for 12 mos and 24 mos. Both were much higher than what I could get at a competitor, so I called to negotiate. Retention dept offered me an excellent rate, which I confirmed with them multiple times because it was so good. When the contract rolled over, the rate was set at the original 12 mos option from the offer letter. I have been trying to get this fixed for quite some time now, and have been hung up on multiple times while on hold waiting for “the person that could fix this”.
Everyone I have spoken to can see the rate I was offered by the retention dept in the notes, but none can make the change, and I have also been told that it is just too low to be sustainable. I have also been told before that it was under investigation and I would have to wait several days for resolution, only to find out on this most recent call that there was not an open investigation. I am now waiting on a supervisor to review the calls and confer with management to see what can be done. Anything other than the rate that was offered by their retention department is a classic bait and switch and is fraud. This experience is completely unacceptable.

My issue is the electric, and that's the one they have never signed me up for. That was the one I needed the rate change with since my gas bill in the wintertime is minimal. So I completed the information, had my credit run, was advised no deposit was needed because of my credit. The very next screen asked for a deposit. The rep requested a waiver on that screen, and proceeded to complete the process. I was told that it was a glitch, that I didn't need to pay the deposit. Later that evening I received an email stating my service would not activate until the deposit was paid.
I call first thing this morning to understand what was going on with this request and was advised several things. I had previously had service with Just Energy, my credit required a deposit, and the address required the deposit. To say I was surprised was an understatement. I immediately requested a cancellation and requested evidence of the cancellation be sent to me. I was advised that it is an internal service and one would not be sent to me. Another service provider does send such emails, so I requested a call back from someone in management to address situation. If I could rate this experience a zero stars I would.

My wife and I were in Sam's and were approached by a Just Energy representative. The representative made it sound like we could save money and as I am retired and on limited income. I decided to try them. They said they would pay 150.00 of my 200.00 early cancellation fee. I was told I would have a period of time to cancel with no questions asked. When I received the contract by email there were some things on it that was not represented to me. I called the number listed and talk to a very nice man who assured me it would be correct on the bill. I asked him if there was another plan that would fit me better but again assured he thought this was a good plan. When we got our first bill I was in shock.
Immediately called Just Energy and told them I wanted to cancel and go back to my old provider. After discussing the situation with the representative he told me what I needed to tell my old provider so I would not go without electricity in case of an overlap. I set it up with my old provider and they said because it had only been a few weeks they would not charge me the early cancellation of the contract. After a few weeks of not hearing from either company I called my old provider and was told that Just Energy denied the change. I too was told that if at any time I wanted to cancel with Just Energy all I had to do was give them notice first. So how can any company deny when I have canceled my service with them???
I called Just Energy and the representative could not believe this had been done and said the records showed it was denied because they thought it was a good contract. I do not care what they thought I no longer wanted their services. By this time I had another bill that was more than double the first bill which I had paid. I canceled again and have tried to talk to so many people about the bill and they either say they cannot do anything or they will call me back which they never do. Hence they turned me over to a collection agency. When I explained what was going on they gave me a number to contact someone else which has ended with them saying they cannot help me. I cannot get information to talk to the higher ups.
Back to getting service with my old provider. Because by this time it had been too long to take me back as a current customer they had to open my account as a new customer and their policy is to collect a deposit and the 200.00 dollar early cancellation fee from old account. Thankfully knowing the whole situation they worked with me. JUST ENERGY will NOT work with me at all and I do not know how to contact someone will more authority that will truly listen to this mess and help clear it up. The bill is absolutely ridiculously high and as I stated I am a retired and changed to Just Energy in good faith hoping to save money and the complete opposite happened.

Everything seems to be fine until we stop using gas during summer. Every time we received the bill for amount of gas that we never used, we contacted the company immediately to provide them actual meter and ask them to cancel the bill, refund us the money. It has happened for 3 times and the third is the worst ever. I have never experienced such a bad service in my entire life.
I called the customer service to provide them real meter reading, emphasized that it has been 3 times that the money was deducted from the bank account for what we never used. They deducted more than 100e from the bank account and I have called 5 times and emailed one more time in nearly two month and I still don't get my money back. The first time I called, they promised but the bill was not cancelled. The second time I called, they promised but nothing happened. The third time, they said sorry and ask for the meter which I already provided. I asked why and they said they want the meter on that date. It was not my fault. They did not do their job, they got the money they should not get and tell me they will not reissued bills with the meter I already provided. What kind of service is that. I had to emailed them with the meter on that date and they reissued new bill with slightly higher meter that I provided in the email, marked as real one.
OMG I have no more word to describe my feeling anymore. From what I see from the new bill, I am supposed to get my money back after 10 days. The bill was issued from 6th Oct and now it is 21st Oct. I don't see my money at all. I definitely will fight to the last minute to get my money back and switch to a better provider as soon as I can. This is the worst company and service provider I have ever seen. Bring your quality up or all customers soon will walk away just like me. Don't be fool by the cheaper rate they offer. Service with Just Energy since 2012, enticed by a $70.00 Gift card - never received, after many calls they issued a bill credit of $25.00. Once the contract runs out (mine since July) they increase your rate by a huge amount (latest from 8.4c/Kwh to 20.9c/Kwh or 248% INCREASE). Since I have autopay, don’t pay attention to bills, so missed them literally stealing money from my account. End of September spoke with customer service, very apologetic, and offered 2500 points (worth $25.00 on the products they sell at inflated prices), as compensation, provided I sign up with a new contact around for 12.7c/Kwh.
Researched other providers found 7.5c/Kwhr- 5-star rated company by “Power To Choose” immediately switched. At the same time found many reviews with others having similar experiences. The rates change they enact to long term customers who forget to renew contracts, I believe is legal extortion at its finest. Strongly recommend to anyone DO NOT CHOOSE JUST ENERGY. A month later I follow up because I have not received any information from them and now they claim they have no information on me and that I should go back to Sam's and meet someone there to do the entire process again. I have been with this company for about 5 years. I never had an issue with them. Very good rates overall. BUT now for some crazy reason because I didn't renew my contract on time with them they decide to charge me .20 cents kWh! My bill at the moment is $610.84! That is more than what I pay on my car. I been calling customer services since September 6, 2018 to advise them that this amount is ridiculous and I don't have the money to pay the bill. According to them, they put in a request to rerate my bill. I've called every other day to check on the status and no answer.
As of today, September 21, 2018 they don't have an answer for me, if they will be able to rerate my bill or not. Mind you my bill was due yesterday, so now I have a bill of $610.84 plus my new bill will be coming in any day now. I'm so frustrated with this whole situation. I cannot believe that there is no way to help me out. I have being a loyal customer, never have I try to switch companies, I don't call customer service for extensions on my bill, I always pay on time and for them to treat me like this, it just blows my mind. This company doesn't care about their customers. All they want is the money. I asked them what will happen if I cancel service with them and they said they will keep calling and sending letters to pay my balance with them. They will be quick to disconnected my services and to get their money but to help their loyal customers they give 2 **!

I signed up for Just Energy at Sam's Club after the rep said it would not increase my gas cost. Well today I compared my gas bill from before I had Just Energy to one of my bills with Just Energy on it. I decided total gas charges on each bill by MCF used and the Just Energy bill costs more per MCF of gas. I'm not happy. It may only cost me a few dollars more per bill this time of year because only my dryer and water heater are using gas but this winter when my furnace starts running it is going to cost me a lot more. I definitely want to cancel Just Energy and get my gas from Consumers Energy again. I just don't know how to get ahold of them cause my Consumers Energy bill says Just Energy on it but doesn't have a phone number on it. I guess I will be contacting my lawyer if they don't cancel me without charging me a cancellation fee because the rep promised my gas rates wouldn't go up but they did.

I live in Dallas Texas. I was fine with them up until last month. My bill was $191. I thought that they had double billed me but it turns out that my contract expired. They had typed in my wrong email address for some reason and said that they call you a month prior to your contract expiring. I never received an email or a call. All I wanted was $91 knocked off of the bill. They chose to lose my business over issuing a credit to my account... Incredible. It's almost like their "I gotcha moment" little trap to gain margins on you. They even said that there was no record of a call. I have a reminder set in my phone to rewrite this experience weekly on sites like this to warn the public. Just pay more elsewhere... They were rude and indifferent to me on the phone. If they don't fix this I will cancel next month.

Well, I get a stupid letter from them saying my credit score was bad and they cannot give me service... Well, 1. I discontinued the service the next day, 2. YOU RAN MY CREDIT! and 3rd my credit score is 714 (Equifax), so you are full of crap! And who the hell gave them permission to run my credit ESPECIALLY after you said you weren't? They are full of crap all the way around! I called and gave them a piece of my mind (got hung up on), and called back and made sure I was heard.

This company has the absolute worst service mindset that I've ever encountered in an energy company. I've only had service with them for less than 3 months and have already had billing errors, haven't received my bill and then been assessed a late fee and disconnection notice immediately after, and have sent emails and gotten automated responses saying that I will get a response in 2 days and then not even get a response until 3 weeks later... with a canned, unhelpful response.
Note: I have a near perfect credit score and pay all of my bills on time so I'm not just someone complaining because I don't want to pay my bills and then leave a bad review. This company does not have their customers' best interest at heart and they sound like corporate drones, reciting policy from a computer screen and not taking into consideration what's actually going on in real life. What interested me about Just Energy was that they were less expensive. They didn't charge for night use between 9:00 and 6:00 in the morning. But when I first got started, they messed up on the first bill and sent me a cancellation notice. I've never had any problem getting a hold of them though, and they corrected that mistake quickly. I've had them for a couple of years now and everything was okay up until July of this year. In fact, I've enjoyed the service. But when I was on vacation, somebody went in and said I wanted to change providers. So when I got home, I got a final bill from Just Energy saying that I was gonna be charged a certain amount for breaking the contract. I didn't even have a contract. It was month-to-month. But we finally got it straightened out.
I also asked who tried to switch providers but they said they didn't know. They gave me the the Public Utility Commission's number so after I got everything settled, I called them. They said that my service was never changed and that it was just one day. It went directly back to Just Energy. So it started to get weird. My final comment with Just Energy was to ask how much I owed. From the bill, they took $170 off which was the exit fee. I sent them a check of $102 and I haven't heard anything from them since. About a week after all that's happened, I got a Sam's card for $50, courtesy of Just Energy.

So I have been with Just Energy for many years. I moved into a new apartment and signed a new contract on 4/17. I realized looking through my bank account they were charging me .24 cents a kilowatt because I didnt resign my contract in May of 2018. I never received a letter or a phone call, they say they sent a letter but I never received so instead of trying to call me and asking me to resign they just start charging me more than double what I was paying which is .24 cents so I went from .11 cents to .24 cents. That shows how disrespectful and greedy this company is. All they keep saying is we sent a letter, are you kidding me. I will dispute this until they make it right by giving me my money back or by giving me credit. Very disappointing.

I signed up July 23. I received a call Aug 29 stating my bill was past due. I never received a bill. The lady answered and said, "Well, your account was set to 'no bill'," and I needed to choose paper or wireless. Whaaattt?! What a scam to set someone up with a new account and not bill so you can charge fees! She switched it to paper bill, said I would get it in 5 days to pay it. I was transferred to customer service to request late fee be removed (If you ever want to speak to an English speaking american hang it up, not even their own employees know how to transfer you to one.). I think the man finally understood what I was asking for but said he cannot help me until next month. I told him I would call back, just make a note on my account. He then proceeded to tell me that I must pay the bill right this minute.
I told him when a bill is in front of me that I can view I will pay it. He said that's unacceptable. And if I should have known my bill was going to be due at the end of the month. Mind you my automobile insurance is due on the 20th, my cell phone bill is due on the 22nd, my electric bill is due on the 10th. How on Earth am I to know that this company runs their bills from the first day to the last day of the month. I assume 30 days after I signed up I would get my first bill. Which is right around this time. I think this is a scam, who would even have an option in their system to not send bills to people? This is a way to get extra money from people. And nobody can tell me how much per day the late fee is. I was told when I signed up there will be no fee to cancel and I will be taking advantage of this.

Literally sat down to have lunch with my boyfriend, when I get a knock on my front door. It was a representative from Just Energy who got into my building because the lobby door was open. He proceeds to tell and show me (quickly, like a fake cop on a TV show flashing a badge,) all the people in my building who have been complaining about wanting lower bills. (I am at this point assuming this is someone associated with my building.) I told him that this wasn't a good time as I just sat down for lunch and basically was suckered into an account by being told that I'd save SO MUCH MONEY (in comparison to one meal - yes, he said that,) and that it wouldn't take much time to get my account situated. The representative was totally aggressive, a fast talker and I am a little peeved that I even allowed some stranger to get his sales claws into me.
An hour later, furious, I had a Just Energy account and I totally missed my lunch date. I was then told on the phone with a woman who was essentially finalizing my contract, "do you understand that you may NOT save money?" WHAT?! That's especially the only reason why I even got the account because I was PROMISED I would save money. Talked to my neighbors and was told that this was a straight up solicitation and to avoid these at all costs. So I call up today to cancel my account and, not only did this guy put my address wrong on my contract (so was it even a real contract?) I was LITERALLY told that the rate he told me was a lie and my bill would have gone up. After trying to give me other probably bogus perks and promotions I still solidified my cancellation. This company should be ashamed of itself.
