I accept to move to just energy since that month my bill payments are increased. They offer me to pay only 39 monthly, now I am paying 41 plus many other things. It means I am paying right now 150, 141, 138, the same period last year I used to pay only 110 or less. Thanks

My goal was to enroll with Ambit Energy. I researched online the Ambit's Energy phone number and I got Just Energy. When I asked them if this was Just Energy the customer service rep said Yes! The rep offered me a great deal in which I was excited about because I was trying to save my family some money. Until I received the first bill and not only I'm paying 100 bucks more a month but I'm stuck with a 5 year contract and if I want to cancel with them I need to pay over 300 dollars. I've called them several times asking for my automated voice recorder because this rep never told me I would be committed for 5 years. Just Energy is giving me a hard time and all they continue to tell me is that the recording will be emailed to you. In the meantime I continue to pay! Not sure how to handle this information. Please Help!!

Which company offers price protection for KWS & Delivery charges for 5 YEARS! There's no hidden fees. CSR lets the customers know everything over the phone! & if you have pendings/cancels, you did something wrong! If you did your deals right, your checks should be 1000+!! I've only been there for 1 1/2 months, my lowest check was $700 & that was my first! I love Just Energy & I will never leave this company because with them you grow $$$.

I know that I was told that if I decided to make any changes that there would not be a penalty. Now that all has changed since I didn't want to change back! I feel this is wrong and feel as though I am being held hostage to stay with your company. This is NOT FAIR!!

A Just Energy worker came to my house claiming to be offering green energy from Crowsnest Pass, and all that he was doing today was signing people up to see if they qualify for this green energy and if so I would be contacted at a later date to accept or decline. Next thing I know my Enmax is disconnected and I don't receive a bill or anything for 3 months but didn't realize because I still owed Enmax a month and a bit. I then receive a phone call saying I'm 800 dollars past due?? I immediately called Enmax and explained and had them restore my previous energy plan. So just today 6 months later I get a letter from collections saying I owe $1700.00 to Just Energy and half of it for early cancellation!! Now I think I'm in trouble!!

My parents were approached by a sales rep outside their home. He explained they would be saving money by switching to JE. He didn't explain he was placing them under a SIX YEAR Contract and the only low bill they got was the first one. Other than that every bill after that has been higher than the one before!! I called but they couldn't give me a reason for that. I explained my parents were both seniors and that it's only them, myself and my two kids. That there was no way our bill could go from $140 to $390 to $500 and our last bill doubled to $1039.17. There has been no changes and when I asked to speak to someone up in management the rep couldn't even give me a name. She didn't even know the name of the company's CEO.

I am filing a formal complain with the TEXAS COMMISSION OF PUBLIC SERVICES IN AUSTIN. These people shouldn't even be allowed to run a business like that and certain guidelines should be in place to protect the consumer!!! MY BEST ADVICE IS DON'T SWITCH TO THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU!!!!

SO I worked for Just Energy and it almost completely ruined my life. I worked going door to door switching peoples electricity for a regional named Ryan, who was a great boss and things were running great for about the first 5 months of 2013 and then he got fired...like so many people do..and a new boss took over. And then things changed, all the offices owned by Legacy Distribution (Corpus, DFW, McAllen, Westchase) started taking money from their employees. People's money are dependent on deals signed and deals show up constantly as "pending" and "cancelled" and "image missing", but when I called back my customers or even stopped back at a customers house after their first billing period..I had several people tell me, no I did not cancel. A few were straight up like yeah bro ** JE, and I don't blame you with their high ** rates, but I had people show me their first bill.

A month later, 31 days of service and kilowatt usage. And I didn't get paid for it 2 weeks ago. WTF. And every spring, the leaders and high corporate people all go on a company wise trip to the people who cheat/lie/** enough **/kiss enough ** to places in the world. April 2014, was Hawaii, April 2013 was Dominican Republic, etc. And the number of pending deals SKYROCKETS at this point. The office went from 60+ agents and 4 fully functional talented close-knit crews who all together yelled "I LOVE MY ** JOB!" at the end of a morning meeting to 6 people in an office, no teams and a busted down grey van with broken AC to ride around in. This is specifically the Corpus Christi office but all together the company ** peoples lives up. You don't get hourly wage or any definite money, no benefits, and you DON'T work for Just Energy. You're an independent contractor affiliated with Just Energy. It's at least 66 hours a week showing up 10-11 Mon-Sat and not getting back in bed till 10-11pm, pressured to work Sun, fast food EVERYDAY no restaurants and walking around for 9-10 hours, sometimes in the middle of nowhere, no stores or NOTHING.

And if you did not work those hours and sign your name on a clipboard before 11am, you will have 3 strikes and get fired. Regardless. And OH YEAH, ha ha. The road trips! At the end of the month for the last week, you have to go to a city upstate in Texas and work relentlessly on what's called a "push week" and work 9am-10pm Mon-Sat. You share a bed with someone you don't know. You eat fast food and get very little sleep all week and you have to put $200+ at the beginning to pay for the hotel stay and gas and food. And the van you take up there is nasty and old and real creeper looking. Women get left out in dangerous areas by themselves, dogs attack workers, it gets pitch black and you have to go hours without eating, with your last meal being some greasy cheeseburger.

A man died once upstate in a company vehicle because of a blow out, and personally it cost me my car, relationship, and dog before I was just completely done. I was one of the last ones to leave, but this company took a lot from the people around me and I watched people just crumble because they were waiting for the money to come back, if it all, and it didn't. People are tired of having their doors knocked. Just Energy has a BAD rep, and the market is burnt out, there's no more money to be made unless they take a break for a while or lower their damn rate!! The ** is ridiculous. Either way..NEVER EVER work for Just Energy. Or get electricity with them. It ruins people's lives either way.

I worked for Just Energy. First, they said that I'd get paid for training. Then after a few weeks, they claim I have to get 50 people to sign up for Just Energy first. I walked from door to door trying to get people to sign applications for over 100 hours and got 6 people to sign up. They had told me I'd get at least $50 for each beforehand and it depends on how much energy they use, how many 1,000 therms a year, as to how much I'd make. Of course we have no control over that. We don't have any control over the fact that people don't like people knocking on their doors in person with all the crime and stuff going on nowadays. Most of the people at home don't even answer their doors.

The ones who do don't want anything to do with you because they've been ripped off too many times. And the others don't think that they'll ever have to pay nymex plus 59 cents/therm and there isn't any savings unless the gas prices go over 59 centers a therm and if gas prices raised it would be the nymex that raised. Therefore, no one believes there is savings. I got 6 people to sign up but I only got paid for 2 with one pending still. They said they'd pay me at least $50 each and they only paid me $62 for two and denied me three because evidently people haven't paid their bills often enough to the gas company or maybe Just Energy probably has hidden fees that they didn't want to pay.

I made only $62 in over 100 hours, that's less than 62 cents/hour and there's a law in this country that says that companies have to pay $7.25 minimum wage/hour when I got paid only 62 cents/hour. It took 100 hours and four weeks to make this $62. Of course I cannot afford to work for that low of pay until I get twenty to get paid the $250 orientation that I was promised I'd get paid and of course when they promised me I'd get paid for orientation they didn't tell me I had to get 20 people to sign applications first. They are ripping employees off right and left, another lady said her friend didn't get paid. Also, I started March 30th and I didn't get paid, the only $62 I got paid till May 13th, which is over 6 weeks later. No other company takes this long to pay someone.

I'm alerting everyone about this so that they may be able to read this and know not to work for Just Energy. They do have 27 people working there now, but they have a class of 12 to 20 new people it looks like every week, so as many as 20 of those people may be the brand new people who haven't figured it out yet cause they haven't been there long enough. Also, in the past year, with all their classes of 12 to 20 new people a week, they only have those few people who have gotten lucky enough to make some money. It's all luck here. The only good thing about this is losing weight from walking.

I am a current employee at JE in one of the call centers. Daily I get calls from customers with higher than high rates. Sometimes I just want to cancel customers account for them when I pull up the accounts and see their rates. But a few of things that I have realized and should bring to the light.

Number 1: Yes. When you sign the contract 70-80% of the reps use shady tactics and 10 times out of 10, the rates are higher than most can even manage. But honestly from a consumer perspective the biggest thing is if you know or feel when you talk to the rep that visits that what they are offering or how they're offering it doesn't seem right, DON'T SIGN UP!!!! We get countless calls of people who call to cancel after the rep leaves to cancel their account because they felt they were "pressured" or just "didn't want to say no". Honestly speaking (Excuse my French) ** THAT!!!! Don't waste time signing and calling something because you want to be "nice" or you feel "pressured" into it. That's really annoying...for everyone.

Number 1.5: If you have any type of thought process, then don't even open the door. They approach you while you're walking in the house, tell them to kick rocks. It's just that simple. They may be mad, but at least you won't set yourself up for a possible bad experience later.

Number 2: In some cases, if you call in and speak with a rep that is not rude and willing to explain and work with you, then listen. Yes. Some reps are beyond incompetent but in most cases we are working with what we're given. In some cases, the rates that we have available are VERY good. In other cases, they are horse **. PLEASE do not call in and take out your aggressions against the company on the rep you speak with because yes, we work for the company but in most cases we do not share the same views as the company. In most cases we're just there to get a check.

Number 3: When you call in to cancel, the processing for it is not up to JE. Your utility company ultimately determines when the account is closed. They can process the cancellation on their end whenever they feel like it. So honestly, when you hear 1-2 billing cycles, that's just the time frame we're given. On the other hand, and once again, YES, there are incompetent reps that work for the company and do not cancel the account when you request but that does not happen often. If we do not cancel accounts, that is cause for potential termination. Do we want to get fired for not closing your account... HELL NO. All in all, like I stated before, We work with what we're given and we're just doing our jobs the way were told so we don't get fired.

On the other hand, like I stated previously, you feel like it's a scam when you're visited, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. In all actuality, don't even show them your bill. Or you can take a step further and NOT OPEN THE DOOR or entertain what they are trying to pitch. But the biggest thing in all is YES, 60-70% of the time, what they are trying to sell you is **, but take the reviews and horror stories with a grain of salt because it is 50/50. The rep offered and they signed so all in all you really set yourself up for failure. MAYBE something happen where something goes wrong or something is shady, but everybody does not fall into a "SCAM".

But on the same hand, if you decide to call to cancel, make sure you do 2 things. Explain your issues in full and use a respectable tone because you would not want someone to call and yell at you for something that is not your fault. Just remember you have to give respect to get it. Secondly, do your research beforehand and ask questions because in some cases, what a rep is offering you over the phone could be a HUGE savings for you (we're not supposed to use the word "savings").

On 24th April 2014, I wanted to switch the electric and gas with National Grid from my daughter's name to my name. I went on Google.com and searched for National Grid phone number. It gave me on top Nationalgridarea phone number 1-855-340-6888.. When you dial the number, it says if you are looking for Just Energy, Press 1. So, since I was looking just for Energy, I pressed 1.

After this, it was a nightmare. They took about 30 minutes to set up my account and recorded answers to questions which mostly I did not understand. At the end, I became suspicious as the name "Energy" came up, so I asked them "Isn't this National Grid?" The guy acted smart and said, "Utility is with National Grid and Just Energy is the supply portion." I asked him what that meant. He kept saying everything is with National Grid. Then, I got an email that says I signed up a 3-year contract with Just Energy at a fixed price. In the email, it is mentioned attached is a cancellation form, where in fact there is no cancellation form and no procedure how to cancel.

When I called to cancel the contract they could not pull up the account. The deceptive practice starts by misuse of National Grid name on Google search and then sales people who are trained how to mislead the customers. And finally, they make it difficult to cancel the contract, which unknowingly gets enforced by vague and inaudible recording of conversation for a commitment.

Last month my total bill for the month was $447, $308 was from just energy! My electric bill now stands at $939, which is crazy!

I have been here for 5yrs. and never, ever have I had such a bill! Maybe $200 at the most for the coldest months. I do not feel I should have to pay their portion of this bill, it's clearly a scam. Anyway, I called them complaining about these astronomical charges, I had to tell them about 6 times I want out. Needless to say, it took 3 months to show on our gas bill so the entire winter we had the high rate.

I had one month to change to my regular provider and you can bet I did that in a heartbeat. The sad thing is the rate for our provider was quoted much less than the 0.491 rate. Just Energy supervisors were supposed to call and when they did days later they were rude. What a scam company. When I called to find out why, they said it’s because I didn't call to lock in a lower rate. When I asked about doing so, the rate they offered was still .20 cents more per ccf than my default supplier. I have called multiple times to have my service switched back to my local company..... but they never processed the request. I am considering taking legal action. Oh and also their promise of lower rates is a lie, their gas rate is double what my local company charges, and 50% more for electric. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Many people don't know that there are many gas suppliers out there. DTE, Consumers, MGU, Semco, they are all your utilities. They buy their gas from the open market which is Just Energy & Santana among others. Just Energy is actually the largest gas supplier in North America which originated in Canada. They are now a billion dollar company and are going international. There's one on London now. Anyways, the utilities only get their gas at a 1-month supply. Just Energy gets theirs at a 5-year supply & Santana gets theirs at a 1year supply. That's how they can offer you a cheaper rate. You get whatever the rate was at the time they bought their gas.

Just Energy doesn't call people. They just go through a neighborhood a million times. I only worked for them for 2 months and I quit because I kept getting sick from working in a blizzard. We had to walk for eight hours every day except Sundays, even if the temp was below 0 or if there was a blizzard. No weather condition was supposed to stop us. I even had to walk in a thunderstorm in February. I keep getting pneumonia. I tried calling in one time but they wouldn't let me. The boss told me to come in & he gave me medicine. If we had to go to the bathroom, we had to beg our crew leader to come and take us or use a customer's or walk a mile to find one or pee in the woods if there were woods around.

We didn't have lunch breaks either. We had snacks and drinks on us that we had to get beforehand. It's not s scam; it's all legit. These are just some of the tactics that we were taught to use to get your gas bill. We only got paid on commission. Our pay check depended on getting your bill. Also, walking in the blizzard made us want your bill even more, especially if we could step inside to get warm for a couple of minutes. We benefit by you signing up with us because that's how you tell your utility company that you want your gas to come from us so your utility would have to buy the gas directly from us instead of any other gas supplier off the open market.

In exchange, we offer a discount & a little cheaper rate. So the contract is not only with the customer. It mandates your utility to give you our gas. You could be getting our gas anyways but the contract says that they have to get it from us. I hope this helps. I know it must be annoying. I hated the feeling of being annoying. Just don't kill the messenger. We are out there trying to do our job. We are just doing what we are told to do. Just be a little nicer. The problems l have are with the company itself.

I personally felt bad about the job because I felt like a pest. If I had seen that someone was just getting home or shoveling snow, I skipped them. I hated bothering people. But they set it up to where we get recognized by how many deals we get. We get cash prizes & points to buy prizes. It wasn't just the commission. It was the recognition. Based on how many deals we got, we got an all expense trip paid every year. Last year, it was London. This year, it's Hawaii. So I guess, you would say our lives depended on getting your gas bill.

We had a representative from the company formerly known as US Energy Savings come to my office in 2007 and had talked a song and dance and said commodity prices through them would be fixed and that prices will change but theirs would stay the same. This is true. Prices over the next 3.5 years through our utility company never came close to what now Just Energy was charging me. In this most recent year, we were being charged 73.9 cents per therm. In the past year, our utility company was anywhere from 32.6-50.1 cents per therm. That's 47%-126% more than what the utility company would have been charging.

This is all about scaring and scamming the populous and terrible for all of us. If you read this review, roll the dice and put the money back in your pocket. The energy companies are not in business to lose money. Shame on me for thinking I'd get ahead. All said and done, I have lost thousands of dollars on overpaying for my natural gas service on the fixed cost plan. The gas utilities never came close to exceeding the fixed pricing Just Energy used. To top it all off, they didn't require me to actively renew my 5-year contract and sent their renewal notice in something that appeared to be junk mail and I missed it. Not worth the headache.

If I get a bill from DTE, I expect that the bills are correct with meter numbers and the amount of energy I truly use. This apartment building has been here for a long time. I lived down the street for 30 years. These meters have been here for a very long time. There should be absolutely nothing wrong with these meters. There is a start number and a stop number for every meter and every meter has a number.

What I believe is Apartment #3, Mr. ** was the only tenant in this 3 unit building for the longest. And had the only convent meters or was only ones that worked and he (the meter reader) applied Mr. ** meter numbers to the Apt. 1 and Apt. 2. And now in the basement gets a $150.00 bill. That is how I got Mr. ** meter numbers on my bills. I don't know how the readers work. But I'm a computer person and all this smells funny. If I don't get things straight soon, I will cut all the wires going into the house and remove all readers from the outside of the house. Then they will get a crew out here and get these meters and apts. numbers and bills numbers straight. I'm not afraid to go to jail.

I'm a 64 year old disabled Vet. And I don't need these problems right now. I live on a fixed income and need to know exactly how many my bills are. Not some guess-a-ment or some erroneous number you make up. Now I get a bill for $257.19 and on 2/8/2012 and still them meter numbers are wrong. This is the last straw. On this bill, I get a third meter number they want me to pay Number **. I have all of their bills to prove everything I am saying.

Less count them: #1 when I moved in my gas meter number was **, same meter as Mr. ** in Apt.3 (2 months on this meter) unknowingly paid for this meter numbers since it was on my bill, but Mr. ** paid for that meter too. I filed complaint, large bill for heating one room. I thought someone steeling my gas. #2 told they replaced my meter with ** (1 month on this meter), #3 sent new bill dated 2/8/2012 with a new meter number ** with the same dates as meter #1 that I already paid (3 months on this one).

I must be popular to get 3 gas meters in 3 months. Wonder if I set a record? I will pay nothing until these meters are correct. They screwed up. Should I tell Mr. ** in Apartment 3 that he has been paying the wrong amount for years? I got his bill in my hand and his meter numbers are the same as mine. They threaten him with a shut off if he didn't pay this erroneous bill. When I called and had the service turn on, they should have came out and do their job. Like they said they did and then lied to me by giving me his service #** on the phone and told me everything was ok and I could move in. I'm sending copies of Mr. ** and my bills so you can see for yourself. It's only the gas meters.

They tried to keep my business and I told them that the only way I would stay was if they left my rate at the $0.58 per therm that I had been paying for the previous 12 months, and only for a 12-month contract, not a 60-month contract. I was told by a customer service representative that I was paying $0.74 per therm and not the $0.58 that was on my verbal contract. He then tried to backpedal and throw me off by saying that he would just cancel my account as I requested and to have a nice day. I asked him what he said about $0.74 per therm and he would not answer me, so I asked for a supervisor. He just kept telling me that he would cancel my account as requested and denied me speaking to a supervisor.

I was contacted by a supervisor on October 17, 2011 regarding my request for a supervisor. I requested the notes from my account and the tapes from my conversation with them upon my renewal in 2010, and was asked why and how she could help me. I explained to her that her employee had let the cat out of that bag about how much I had been paying for the next year and that it was inaccurate. She put me on hold and came back and told me that it does show the discrepancy in the price per therm and tried to make excuses about why I was ripped off for 12 months. I told her that there was no excuse for fraud. I was contacted today by them stating that I would not be receiving the requested items due to the fact that I was not entitled to them. My name is Angela ** This incident begin when my name was Angela **. I'm not sure of the exact date, but it must have been 8-9 years ago. I was at work, and my children's father, Charles who resided in Harvey, IL was at my home in Phoenix, IL babysitting our youngest daughter when one of the representatives came to my door. All of my bills were and always have been in my name including my Nicor gas bill. By his signing his name to the document in which they provided, that action now contracted me for the next seven years of having them as a gas source provider. Since the first time I saw US Energy itemized on my monthly bill, I have complained that I never gave authorization for this to take place.

I have been told over the years that since a person that was in my house at the time signed the document, I had to pay. In March 2007, I moved from the house in Phoenix, IL and had all of my services simply transferred to my new residence in Harvey, IL, which in fact, included US Energy on my Nicor bill. When I had to be placed on a budget, I in turn had to also contact US Energy. On speaking to a representative, I agreed to be set on a month budget, complete the contract, and not renew their services. I even had to pay an addition amount of $60 per month in order for this to be agreed upon. Soon, an additional bill with the name of Charles ** started coming to my address with my account number on it. I contacted US Energy again, and told them that there was no Charles **. They in turn argued with me and said that he must have been my husband which is ridiculous and very untrue, and for me to keep with the payment arrangement until my account is complete.

According to Nicor Gas, the last payment to US Energy which was itemized on my bill was paid February 11, 2009. To my knowledge, I was done with US Energy. A few months later, I myself then agreed to have Nicor Solutions as my natural gas provider. Knowing that this was paid, I've never heard anything else or received anymore bills from US Energy up until yesterday, May 12, 2010. I received a collections letter stating that I never paid the exact same amount that I was paying the additional monies for on a budget for I believe 6 months, and that no, there was no record of me paying since October 2008. This is very alarming to me since I paid this account in full and I never signed up for or authorized to have their services in the first place.

I am looking for help and would like to share some information about U.S. Energy. I, too, was led to believe that I would receive quite a bit of savings if I signed on with this company and did so because of my economic situation in the hopes of saving some money over winter on home heating costs. Not only did that not happen, but U.S. Energy, or Just Energy (their new name) decided to cancel my contract because "they had not received a payment from me in three months," according to a customer service rep. However, the rep did admit that Nicor may not have forwarded my payments to them in a timely manner thus, their reasoning for canceling my contract.

This is where the fun begins for me. Now, per their "records and contract," I defaulted and therefore owe U.S. Energy/Just Energy a $75 per month service fee onto a $300.00 plus gas bill. When I inquired about this the second week of July (I finally received a bill), to my surprise, it was for $632. I was told that of "this amount due, $332.00 was for gas used and the remainder was a $75 a month fee for breaking my contract." I asked to speak with a manager and was told that it is what it is and that if I wanted, I could dispute it but, it would probably not change it. I said I wanted to dispute it and the manager said she would submit my billing dispute request to customer service and that I would receive a notice per their decision by mail.

Since then, I have heard nothing from their "customer service dispute department", continue to receive phone calls from this company demanding their payment and have been told that they will put this on my credit report. I am also told very rudely that I have to follow up on this and that it is my job to call their dispute department (for which I consistently receive a different phone number, i.e.,1-866-587-8675 which is not a U.S Energy/Just Energy phone number) and have now been told that my bill is $685, but they do not know where the additional fee of $52 came from but are certain that it was an overlooked from the last billing cycle per a Miss **.

I returned their phone calls and spoke with this company two times so far this month and still cannot get this matter resolved. All I do know is that they have plenty of non-customer service phone numbers, continue to harass me and will not resolve this matter. We have not received any notice about the settlement, and we would like to cancel our 5-year contract as of today, 7/24/2009. But we are unable to reach anyone at U.S. Energy Savings Corp. Nicor said that our service began on 1/20/09, the first time we contacted Nicor about the switch and since, they said 2/20/09. Please tell us how to get the paperwork done in time to meet the August 12 deadline for releasing us from the contract and any refunds due us per the lawsuit.

I called to find out why my bill says, “The average price you paid for electric service this month (excluding taxes): $0.162/kwh,” when I was told that I was going to pay $0.13.5/kwh. I also asked what the cancellation fee is because I'm planning to leave out of town and I need to prepare myself to how much I'm going to need. But Enalia was not able to tell me. She said she could not discuss it with me and I also asked that I wanted it to be written and mailed to me. And now I'm going to wait for the letter telling and explaining to me what the early termination fee is since she could not tell me over the phone. For what reason, I don't know why she couldn't say. I am very unhappy with this company. If you can help, please e-mail me. It's the best way to get in touch with me. If you need to talk to me, leave a message on my phone or e- mail and I will get in touch with you.

When I signed up with USESC, my understanding is I would save money. My May bill was $186.00, last year bill was $34.00. How do I terminate this program with USESC? Over $425.00 in overcharges from last year.

Me and my fiancee were at home one August day when we had a visit by someone from U.S. Energy Savings and as he said "was in the neighborhood conducting a survey making sure that we are not being over charged by our gas and electric company" and asked to see a current bill. So we both thought that this was some govt. official and we did as he asked. Because her name was on the bills, he only spoke to Steph. He had her sign some paper and talk to someone on the phone that she didn’t understand because he didn’t speak English. So when the man on the phone asked her do you understand, Steph said no, but Bill who was here said don’t worry just say yes.

Well some months later, while I was examining our electric bill, I noticed that National Grid was not our company any more but U.S. Energy Savings. So, I called National Grid and found out that when my fiancee signed that paper and said yes on the phone, she was changing providers. So, when we called U.S. Energy to tell them we didn’t want to keep them because we found out that they were charging way more than any other provider, they informed us that we had signed a 5 yr contract (even though we were not told that) and if we went back to our old provider we had to pay a very high cancellation fee.

In the end, we did switch back to National Grid and did not pay the fees. Now, we get phone calls every day from a collection agency telling us we owe them. Help!

I contacted U.S. Energy Savings Corps about my bill which is constantly getting higher each month. I signed up for the budget plan back in 2002 with North Shore Gas. My husband was told by the U.S. Energy sales rep. that we would still be on the budget plan. However, when I contacted the billing representative regarding the bill and the budget plan she said that U.S. Energy gets a small portion of my bill each month and that I should contact North Shore Gas to ask why they are charging me so much. I contacted North Shore, the representative their told me that they get the smaller amount of the bill. Ultimately neither would answer my question regarding the increased amount on the bill. The dollar amounts on the bill do not add up the amount that is being requested due. I explained that the bill is usually between $100 - $174 a month. When I received the new bill it was double the original. We work during the day and the thermostat is set to 68 degrees.

In June 2008, when natural gas prices spiked very high, I was visited by a high-pressure sales team from US Energy Savings Corp. and signed a 5-year fixed price natural gas contract. The sales team (Kathryn ** and her supervisor) neglected to inform me of certain monthly charges and also gave misleading information about changing the contract. Specifically, I am now charged Indiana sales tax for my monthly gas usage (supply), which my local utility (NIPSCO) does not charge. US Energy never informed me I would be charged extra sales tax above and beyond the tax already charged for storage and delivery. The US Energy salespeople also misinformed me about how their Blend and Extend contract extension works, making it seem like a much better option than it actually is in the fine print. For instance, they told me that if their offered price went lower, I could get that price by adding only 1 year onto my contract. However, the fine print says the original contract is replaced by a whole new 5-year contract.

Afraid I was scammed by signing a paper about keeping my gas bill low today, 1-27-09. I am mailing them a cancellation today and hope they honor it since it says I have three days to do so. I thought they were with Peoples Gas and now I am afraid I have been scammed. I just want to make a note that I did cancel in case they don't honor it.

Who is this company and how can they guarantee lower that the our base usage supply price will be maintained throughout the five years. the variable amounts associated with this program include balancing charges and applicable taxes. According to USES we will continue to be committed to ConEd for delivery of energy and will continue to receive a bill from ConEd for meter reading, transmission and distribution.

A salesman came to my door selling cheaper electric and gas service, but ASSURED me that I would get lower prices than with Con Edison, my current utilities provider. I was also assured that my bill would still go through them and that my rates would just be lower than with them. I saw on the news the other evening that this was just a scam, and that I possibly could receive TWO bils for service.

I have contacted Con Edison and they have put a block on the service from USEC, and am now registering a complaint with you in hopes of being prtected from having to pay any charges to them. I am 80 years old, and on a fixed income, and certainly cannot afford to pay two bills for my utilities. From what I understand these salesmen were all over my neighborhood, especially preying upon myself and my other snior citizen neighbors.

On May 16, 2005, the door-to-door sales representative explained to me that the gas prices were supposed to sky rocket over the upcoming winter and suggested the possibility of them remaining high. He went on to say that if I were to lock in a gas price with the Fixed Price Program I would save money and wouldn't be hit with the high prices. Furthermore, he did not say anything to me about a cancellation policy.

-A $164.56 exit fee for early termination (I moved).
-Paying higher prices for gas when, according to the sales representative, the Fixed Price Program was supposed to be saving me money (I was mislead).

-Unfortunately, I do not have a monthly apples to apples comparison of gas costs between the Fixed-Price Program and the regulated gas prices (the regulated gas prices were not provided on my monthly bill statement. I believe this may have been purposefully done so that I would not realize how much more money I was paying with the Program). I do, however, have a bill at my new residence without the U.S. Energy Savings Corporation Fixed Price Program:

An idependant contractor , Jeff H. , convinced my wife to sign a contract for natural gas delivery. The sales talk he gave her focused on the rising cost of natural gas and benefits of locking in a rate now. No comparisons were offered nor were actual rates or predictions of prices ever talked about. We now have gas supplied at $1.19 per therm..

The first two months cost for our natural gas from U.S.Energy Corp. was $436.90. The prior 12 months with our previous supplier totaled $569.31 . We are obviuosly being overcharged in the current market and can only opt out with a $400 termination fee.
