I got interested in The Global Work & Travel Co. package and the opportunity to travel. I’m from New Zealand and went to Canada. There was an itinerary that we followed. Their team was polite, and everything was as I expected. Everything you do can come down to experience and this is no different. You meet a wide variety of people a different way, living a different way to see the world and another part of it.

After 5 years of being in the Hair Styling field, I spontaneously decided to leave my job. I had no backup plan but knew I wanted to travel/move away. I came across Global online and registered with them that evening to be an Au Pair in the United Kingdom. Within 3 short months I made the move to London England. With the amazing guidance from their staff they made the process so easy for me. After only being abroad for a month and a half I have already made amazing friends and memories! I would highly recommend Global. In fact I question why others aren't doing the same when I tell them what I am currently doing as a career as an au pair. Thank you Global, for giving me the experience of a lifetime!

My time so far in Australia. My name's Matthew, and I arrived into Australia with the Global Work and Travel Co on the 12th August 2015. Coming to Australia was a very scary thought but knowing I had the support of Global behind me made feel a lot more at ease and right from the moment I joined the programme up until now Global have supported me a lot. From setting up a bank account and issuing me with a mobile phone with credit, it has made my experience far more enjoyable knowing I can relax a lot more. The most important thing for me coming to Australia was finding a job I liked as I wanted to make my time here the best possible.
Global found me a job within a week at Bond University as a bartender and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was delighted when I was given this opportunity and I start work on the 7th of September. I first met the Global staff at my orientation session which is an amazing way to meet other travellers and find out important information about the country. The staff at global, were very helpful, especially Nicole who was very nice.
So far in Australia, I have visited Dream World and White Water World which was so much fun! I have taken lessons in surfing, went whale watching which was incredible and also visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where I fed kangaroos and held a Koala bear. In the 3 weeks I have been here, it has been the adventure of a lifetime and knowing I have so many more months ahead of me is very exciting.
Hi Matthew, amazing to hear about your trip so far, thanks for sharing your experiences and submitting a review! Our local team is always here for you. Keep living the Australian dream, and let us know if there's anything more you'd need anytime. We'll also forward your greetings to our team members. Thanks again, The Global Work & Travel Co. I traveled from Nova, Missouri to Lake Louise in Canada through The Global Work and Travel Co programs. Their team was awesome and totally on hand. They also respond if I ask questions. And now I'm here in Canada living by myself away from my family, so this is definitely an eye-opening experience, not being able to rely on anybody but myself.
Hi Holly, thank you for the feedback, we appreciate it!

My name is John-David ** and I am a 23 year old traveler from the United States. I arrived in Australia on the tenth of August with the help of the Global Work and Travel Program. My decision to travel to the Gold Coast was easy for me once I realized the help that I would be receiving from Global Work and Travel. Now that I have been in Australia for one month, I am certain that I have made the right choice in life by venturing out of my comfort zone and beginning a new life.
Even before I arrived in Australia the program directors from Global Work and Travel have done everything in their power to make me feel comfortable during my stay overseas. Every aspect of my trip from the arrival at the airport to my employment in the Gold Coast has been a very smooth and stress-free transition. Nicole, Ashley and Alana have been especially helpful during my trip by checking up on me and updating me with information on things to do around the Gold Coast during my stay. Global Work and Travel has allowed me to enjoy myself while on my working holiday and not have to worry about how I am going to support myself.
After two weeks in Australia I was completely set up with a mobile phone, bank account, job and apartment. I can honestly say that I am truly happy with my new, relaxed lifestyle here on the Gold Coast and wouldn't trade my experience here for the world. I am grateful to have Global Work and Travel by my side during my time here and I appreciate them being so genuinely kind and interested in my state of living. The best part about my stay here is that it has only just begun and I am excited to see what this trip has in store for me next!

I participated in the working holiday, in which I would get to work and stay in a town in Jasper Alberta to experience their culture, and I recently called The Global Work and Travel Co. to complain about the work. They said somebody would call me back, then I emailed but I haven’t got a response until now. I was a bit annoyed, but that’s okay since my experience in Canada has been fantastic. It’s been cool meeting new people, and I love the culture. The scenery’s been awesome too.
Hi Rebecca,

They are super friendly but my only major disappointment would be the travel insurance. For a year, it costs 2 grand, whereas anywhere else it would cost a grand. I travelled from Australia to Canada and they call me regularly to make sure everything's all good. The Global Work & Travel Company people are helpful but they could be a bit more helpful in getting your visa and give you more of the heads-up on what you have to do.
Hi James, thanks for your feedback. We constantly aim to improve our services so we appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. Please note that not all insurance policies are the same. If you have chosen the premium insurance you will be covered for a lot more than a regular insurance would cover. Please don't hesitate to contact us anytime if you'd like to hear more. Enjoy your travels and please know that we are always here if you need anything! Thanks again, The Global Work & Travel Co. Feedback Team

I'm from a small town in Australia called Malanda. I have traveled to Canada, and I'm currently living in a small town in BC called Invermere. I participated in The Global Work's working holiday program because I needed a change of scenery and I thought it was the best opportunity to do so. I'm currently working as a server at a resort here in Invermere and they have supplied me with staff accommodation. The Global Work's people are absolutely fantastic. They've been very helpful, encouraging, and supportive. They are very quick to reply to any queries or concerns I have. They're incredibly polite and really friendly. It's been a mind-opening and positive experience from the get-go. I would recommend it to absolutely anybody, especially to any first-time travelers.

I'd recommend anyone to do Global Work & Travel. I availed of their Get-It-All program - it's easier for me to have everything sorted out. I'm from New Zealand and now in Canada - currently I'm working but I've done some hiking and trekking even though haven't done much travel so far. But through the program, I learned about significant cultural differences of Canada from New Zealand. To add, their customer service people were nice and helpful, and they provide us with information. All in all, it's a fantastic experience.

I’m from Australia and I traveled to Canada through the Get It All program of The Global Work & Travel Company. With the Get it all, I was able to get a job opportunity before I left Australia. I got an interview and was picked up from the airport. I had seven nights’ accommodation, help to set up a bank account and a TIN number, an insurance number, help to set up a phone, and all the help I needed to get started.
The team were really, really good. They message you a lot to make sure that everything’s on track even before you leave, and then when you get here, you meet them the day after and they run you through everything Canada and what to expect. They keep tracking up on you, which is good. I’ve been here for 2 weeks, and I’ve gained life experiences such as meeting a whole lot of different people from all over the world who have the same interests as me, and learning to live by myself and budgeting a whole lot more from participating in this program.

I contacted Global because I wanted to live overseas for a short stint of 6 months. They have been amazing in supporting me. I am living in Tofino which is the suburb I requested for. I am working in a 5 star hotel Full Time with great hours of 9-4 so I have plenty of free time to do all the things I want when I want! A special mention needs to go to all the staff. They knew exactly what they were doing and were able to support me from the very beginning of ideas on where I can live and work in Canada applying for my visa. It is a very scary process if it is your first time and you have not got time to waste on any errors right through to now. And even if I want to live and work somewhere else in Canada they will be able to assist with that too in the future!
The only downside is that I had to pay extra fees to book my own flights and/or travel insurance which was disappointing because it meant that I lose flexibility and the cost is higher to book flights and travel insurance through them too. But I eventually negotiated no fee to book my own flights but I had to take travel insurance out through them even though I had already paid $2k for everything else already.

I signed up with Global Work and Travel Co in late 2013 for their J-1 USA program. I had work planned in the US and needed a J-1 sponsor. I had researched all the possible options and eventually went with Global Work and Travel Co. I paid my $595 deposit with all intents and purposes of going through with the program. Within almost 24 hours after having paid my deposit, I learnt that I could not go through with the program. I spoke to the company about a refund given the nature of the emergency, and I got nothing but a cold-hearted email of sympathy.
$595 is a lot of money for an organisation to do absolutely nothing in return. They state that they cannot refund the deposit, even after 24 hours - my paper work was probably not even on the desk. Regardless of the fine print, the customer service and the profiteering tactics this company projects is not worth your money, not even the risk of your money. I don't travel enough, nor would consider using a middle man to book my own travel when there are so many virtual tour agents that offer much better flexibility and price competitiveness (Expedia, Kayak, etc.).
You should avoid this organisation not because they don't offer the opportunity for amazing travel opportunities. But because they do not understand that things can happen in our lives that change our ability to travel. To be in business you need to meet this - and there are many great organisations out there that offer this as an absolute in their service. Please go out and find them. Don't let this company part with your money because they will not return it. There is nothing concrete about travel and a company should find ways to meet this characteristic. This company will ensure that you find little joy in travel again.
Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate to hear your situation. We understand unexpected things happen all the time, which is why we have our industry leading 10-year deposit guarantee. While with most other companies your deposit would be lost, you have the option of using your deposit towards any of our trips for the next 10 years. You can view our policy here:(http://globalworkandtravel.com/ten-year-deposits/)
So please let us know if/when you wish to use your deposit towards another trip, and bear in mind our deposit are also transferable.

I was reasonably happy with my experience with The Global Work & Travel. I didn't have any problems aside from we weren't told that we had to get a visa for the US before we left since we had to stop at LA before flying to Vancouver. It was a last-minute thing. It was just lucky they did them in the airport or else we would have missed our flight. We told them about that when we got here and they said that they're gonna change something in their packs when they tell people about it 'cause apparently it happened to a couple of other people as well.

I'm originally from Norbar, Australia and I traveled to Jasper, Canada. I'm doing a working holiday. I went through about seven different papers and it was a bit hard to communicate with the team at The Global Work and Travel Company. But the last lady that I got was very good. She was helpful with all of my travel needs. Since participating in the program, I thought I probably should try it myself but also have them as a backup, like be prepared.

I'm from Australia and I travelled to Canada. I always wanted to travel and work as well so I went on a working holiday where you’re getting experience and you’re sort of doing two things at once. I've always wanted to work overseas. I've rang Global Work & Travel off, asked them a few questions and did my research to get where I am. Global Work has been so helpful when I was in Australia especially when getting my visa. It was just so painful and they always said to me, "Just give us a phone call. Email us. If you have any problems, just let us know." And they were always really great. They're so approachable and easy going.
Then I went straight to Vancouver and I spent a few days there then to BC where I've been this entire time and I really love it. Global Work and Travel has been really good and helpful to make sure that everything's fine. I found that coming to Canada, there are so many different cultures in one. It's hard because I live with my boss at the moment and she's from a different culture as well. I'm starting to learn a little bit of the new culture and diversity. I learned a bit about everything. And honestly, I wouldn't be able to do this if I was doing it on my own. It's so good having that help from Global.

I was super nervous about going but I am so glad I did! I had one orientation week and one volunteer week. During the orientation week had 2 classes on how to speak Bahasa (language of Bali), made a flower offering, had a painting and cooking class, and went to a Hindu temple! It was really awesome and I was kept busy which was good. On my own time I climbed a volcano (which was amazing, I watched the sunrise!) and rode elephants on a different day. The volunteer week I taught English to kindergarteners and Healthcare to primary school students which was especially rewarding because they honestly don't know anything about the basics. Two weeks there was not enough. I definitely want to go back now and explore more of the island!

I was ripped off and mislead by this company 5 years ago due to lies and pressure sales tactics employed by GWAT Australia. Later I was given a written confirmation by the current sales manager for AU and NZ that my deposit would be returned to my bank account and to provide credit card information and bank details. After providing my personal details they have avoided me (this alarmed me and I am now in the process of changing my bank details and reported an attempted fraud attempt by a representative of GWAT AU).
This company can not, I repeat, can NOT BE TRUSTED in my experience. They are currently in the process of liquidating the business in AU and looking to write off all debt and the chances are, based on historical like for like situations, anyone that is currently owed money in AU will not be paid back. Please don't take my word for it. Make up your own mind if this is a company you'd like to do business with. GWAT will tell you anything and lie, so do your own research.

You tell the staff what country and what type of thing you want and they look to find what is right for you. They set up interviews until you find the right one and no matter how little the question you have an answer by the next day. Even when you have moved and in a different country they are still in contact and you can still get advice and help. You always have someone there.

Global Work and Travel were so helpful to me when organizing my trip to Australia. Never having travelled abroad before I was of course hesitant and nervous about the whole thing but the team at GWT answered any questions I had and assured me that if a problem occurred with the family they would be able to assist. Thankfully that didn't happen! I was fortunate enough to be placed with a fantastic family thanks to the GWT AuPair program. I decided to also go through them again but this time to Italy in 2016! I recommend GWT to anyone that wants to travel abroad.

I would and I have recommended you guys, you all do such a wonderful job at helping and assisting whenever and wherever you can. I honestly would have still been sitting at home dreaming about this experience if I hadn't come across your website and spontaneously applied - within a week my trip was set into action and I was ready to be matched with a family - within four months I was on my way. Definitely a life changing experience that I will never forget!! For anyone wondering if they should join this program, have no hesitation, just do it!! You'll have the absolute time of your life with no regrets. Global Work and Travel were always just an email away whenever I had an issue both before, after and whilst I was on my journey. Last November (2014) I signed up to go on the Bali trip with Global Work and Travel Co. I felt rushed and pressured to make a decision and commit to the program and lost about $600. I called the very next day to cancel and get a refund only to be told that a refund was not an option. This was never communicated to me on the phone, by email, OR in the contract they sent me. They told me that the ONLY thing they could do was give me a credit for a different trip at a later date only to find out that other people have received refunds for the same reason that I have requested one? This "business" is dishonest and a scam! Do yourself a favor and put your money into.
Dear Elizabeth, very upsetting to hear that you feel this way, and apologies for any potential miscommunication. All our booking forms clearly state that the deposits are non-refundable, but we will definitely look into what might have made you feel that it wouldn't be the case. Global Work & Travel Co. has been really, really helpful and friendly. I've actually become almost friends with my coordinator, **. She checks up on me and has been good. I'm from Kosovo but I travelled from the east coast of Australia and I flew down to Sydney, and then Sydney to Vancouver. I'm doing a working holiday. Because I've never done anything like this before, it's a good opportunity to get out there and meet new people and see a place I've never been before. I love travelling and it really intrigued me. I would say I'm a bit shyer than the average person but when I'm travelling a lot, you kind of have to just ask if you don't know things and you got to ask people. And I feel I have a bit more confidence if I keep talking to people I've never met before, so that's been helpful on my character, at least. I have a bit of an issue with finding information. But I'm very fond of them. I think they are a very good company and would recommend them.

Received a full refund from the company for $500.
Original Review: May 15, 2015
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. The Global Work and Travel Company does not follow through with what they say they are going to follow through with. If you type in "Global Works and Travel Co fraud" on Google, you will see that several travellers have been scammed by this company. The business claims to promise all these "too-good-to-be-true" things, such as providing a job, hotel stay, and free transportation to you if you agree to give them all of your hard-earned money.
This company swindled me with high-pressure sales to buy into this company after my FIRST PHONE CALL with them, they promised me a free Go-Pro and told me that if I did not sign up RIGHT NOW, I would lose my place and lose my free Go-Pro offer. They then attempted to talk me into giving them a $500 deposit.
It all sounded well and good to me, until I looked up their fraudulent reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR A- REVIEW. I assumed that the transaction on my credit card would not go through until the following Monday, because the man I was speaking to on the phone said he was the last one in the office. This was misleading information. After getting off the phone with them, I saw that my credit card had been charged.
I immediately called them back the same evening less than one hour later, demanding my $500 deposit back. Legally, any person can retrieve any transaction back within 24 hours even if the transaction is "non-refundable." The gentleman I spoke with on the phone claimed that he was the last one in the office as it was Friday night, and promised to call me back the following Monday at 2:30 pm to discuss my refund with me. He requested I send him an email describing my situation and my demand for a refund.
I never received any phone call on Monday, and by then I had called my bank to cancel my credit card. A few days later, my bank called the Global Works and Travel Co, and their company finally contacted me on Thursday, three days after they had promised to call originally, and almost a whole week after my original transaction with them occurred. They were pushy and short with me on the phone, and claimed that they would call me again after talking to the Cancellations Department. I still have not received my refund.
I received a sketchy receipt from this company that says "Miscellaneous Purchase" for $500, so it does not even say what my $500 is going towards. I have received ZERO goods or services from this company, have received nothing of value, and they have stolen $500 from me. I am determined to get my money back from these scammers. Do not do business with them!!
Dear Arielle, very sorry to hear that you feel this way without actually experiencing our programs or the ongoing support that we aim to always provide to all our travellers. If and when we make mistakes we are more than happy to always come clean and learn from them, but this time your story doesn't seem to match up with our internal records at all. Nevertheless we provided you with a full refund out of our goodwill after you suddenly changed your mind about travelling. We wish you all the best on your future endeavours. I'm from Australia and I travel to Canada. I got an All Program so Global Work & Travel organized my work for me. That was the thing that interested me the most because I sometimes struggle to find jobs, so I wanted to come to Canada having a job already organized. They helped me get my visa and walked me through it. If I had any questions, I could call them and they organized my job for me, my stay when I first got to Canada, and my transfer from the airport to the hostel. When my job ends, I'll go in to their Vancouver office and they'll organize another job for me, if I want.
Their staff have been great, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! I have absolutely no complaints with them whatsoever. Since right now I'm living in Bracebridge which is in Muskoka in Ontario I needed a car. I called them to see if anybody in Ontario had finished their work visa and were trying to get rid of a car. They weren't able to find anybody, but I got a follow-up phone call and a follow-up email asking me how I went, was I okay. They even called work cause they thought there might be a problem, but it was just that the shuttle to the resort had stopped. They've been really good and really awesome. This is the first time I've ever been away from my family. I've only been here three weeks but I've grown a lot. I've changed careers which is an opportunity I wouldn't have. They got me a job in something completely different, and will take me completely to a different direction.
Thanks again,

Hi all! About a year ago today I decided I wanted to do something more in life, so I took to Google and came across the Global Work and Travel Company. The next thing I know I was on the phone deciding which option to choose from! I chose to be an Au Pair, in the beautiful Netherlands. I've been here 9 months, and had the most amazing experience EVER!!!! I'm going home in three, which is too soon for my liking. I'm so happy I decided to do this. I had the chance to live with a Dutch family and experience the culture first hand. I did a Dutch course and am still learning, just from daily life. One of my favourite things about Holland is all the fiets (bikes!!!). I just love the relaxed feel of it, and the generally happy people.
But enough about this amazing country. You're probably wondering about the job. Well, I'll say it's not easy sometimes. Obviously if you're considering being an Au Pair you'll have some childcare experience, and you know they aren't always little angels. Even if that is the case, the good days and the fun times make it worth it! Especially since we talk about visiting each other in the future, it's a lifelong bond and an amazing experience which will change you and allow you to grow in many ways.
Now if you want to travel (which almost everyone does right!) then this is also a great way to do it. I got very lucky with my host family allowing me a lot of time off. Almost always when the kids had school holidays. But also if you have a Friday or Monday free you can do a weekend trip to nearby places. You just have to make the most of it!! I've also made some really good friends here, some that I hope will be friends of mine forever! I hope you find this helpful. :) So, I really recommend this. I'm beyond grateful for this opportunity! Don't let yourself miss out on this one. :)

I'm from Queensland, Australia and I've travelled to Ontario in Canada. I purchased the Get It All package because I had never travelled overseas or moved on my own before. I had no experience with applying for visas or applying for jobs overseas, or setting up accommodations. With the package, it just seemed like the most convenient one with having the most assistance in everything that I needed.
When I was still in Australia I had the office in the Gold Coast constantly contacting me and making sure I was up to date with my whole progress. They were the ones that helped me with my whole visa application. I had a couple of problems with applying for it and if I didn't have their help I probably wouldn't even have a visa today because there were things I had to do that I wasn't aware of, and if it weren't for them reminding me, I wouldn't have known. They were really helpful with answering any questions that I had for them any time of the day, getting me informed about what documents I needed to apply for my visa, help with my resume, and everything else.
When that process was finished and I had received my visa, I was then handed to the office in Vancouver that took over my program. I spoke to their agent most of the time and she was constantly always answering my phone calls and answering my emails. That agent was the one who actually convinced me to come here to Ontario. My first preference was Banff, and there were no jobs available at the time my application was getting handed out. No places had come back with a job offer. Then I got a job offer here and I wasn't sure about taking it at the JW Marriott because it was so far away from where I wanted to originally go. But she convinced me about how beautiful Ontario is and how much of a Canadian experience I would get here and to just try it out.
So far since being here, I absolutely love it and I'm really happy that she did convince me to do so because if not, I probably would have never come. When I arrived into Vancouver, I actually got to meet her in person and the two other ladies who I spoke with at my orientation. They all helped me set up my bank account, my phone and all that. They were lovely and they said if I needed anything to just come back to the office and they will be there for me. They also helped me with organizing my transport to fly into Toronto. They were really great. I didn't get my first preference, but I understood that they tried their hardest and that it’s up to the employees of these companies when it comes to hiring. But they did as much as they could, and I had a really good experience because of it.

I am very disappointed and shocked by the lack of assistance I'm already receiving. I've joined the "get it all" program for Canada and you would think after spending such a substantial amount you would fully receive the best support and assistance possible - but nope. I paid in full over 3 weeks ago and all I received was one email from the company by a guy named ** saying what documents I need to get together and call him back once I have them all? What a joke! If you've never traveled alone before or been on a working holiday how the hell are you supposed to know a) how to get all these documents, b) how much they cost cause let me tell you according to the company's brochure it told me my visa would cost 150 only to find out AFTER in my application documents it's 250.
I still am yet to hear from them. I haven't even received a mere friendly phone call to check in on my progress with it or even an email. Don't pay that kind of money for no assistance. I'm already regretting my decision now and unless I receive the support or help I PAID for will be cancelling my application and going with the Working Holiday Club. They are cheaper and a girlfriend of mine who's not travelling til November with them has already had a friendly Skype chat with her coordinator about how to get the ball rolling whilst I'm here hoping to go in June and haven't even seen who I'm talking to let alone received a phone call that's lasted longer than 5 minutes!

I want to warn those considering a program with 'The Global Work & Travel Co.' ('Global'), in particular the 'Get Paid to Teach English in South Korea! ' program. After paying a significant sum for the program, filling out a resume template and providing other documents, I was told that the first step is to apply to EPIK. EPIK stands for English Program in Korea and is a program which you can apply to yourself and at absolutely no cost (ie: FREE). Had I known that I'd be referred to EPIK, I would not have paid a few thousand dollars for the program.
Upon further research, I discovered that a majority of the service inclusions listed in their ad is in fact standard for many, if not all, teaching contracts in South Korea. I paid an exorbitant amount for what I had initially thought was value for money. I felt extremely misled as I would have gotten those inclusions anyway for absolutely no charge, let alone a few thousand dollars! So I took this matter up with Global. They decided to issue a partial refund but only if I agreed that the amount would be the full and final settlement of my cancellation and refund request. I had no choice but to agree, it was that or nothing. I ended up losing $1642.50AUD. Please keep in mind that I did not start the TEFL course with them, nor did they do anything that is worth the money they had kept. All they did was send me a few emails, talked to me via Skype and told me to apply to EPIK.
To be fair, they did say that if I did not pass the EPIK interview, they'd look into hagwons. However, there are many recruiters that do this and they do it for FREE. I found a recruiter and he was amazing. He contacted me regularly, arranged an interview, prepared me for it and assisted me in my journey to South Korea. I now work for a public school in South Korea with all the relevant inclusions (stated in the Global ad) as part of my employment contract. So, lesson learnt! I know this is common sense to some, but for others like me, a little naive, please conduct thorough research before paying for anything of this nature.

Hi my name is Owen **. I am currently in Calabogie, Ontario in Canada taking part in a working holiday with my Fiancé Mykaela. Thanks to Global Work & Travel the preparation and the realization of this holiday has been simple, care free and exciting. From the beginning they assisted us with obtaining our Canadian working Visa, the organization of our flights to America and then to Canada, accommodation and our employment. With their knowledge and advice we were able to organize our trip in a timely and care free manner and their assistance gave us great peace of mind throughout the set up of our journey.
We both purchased the 'Get It All' package which included all of the above as well as 2 separate job opportunities in Canada. They organized us employment at a small country ski resort in Calabogie where I have undertaken work as a rental shop technician, lift operator and bar tender. They organized us, our interview and the rest is history. This process was easy, simply and fast. When we have finished our employment here they are obliged as part of our package to set us up with secondary employment in another part of the country.
Whilst in Calabogie I have learnt to snowboard, been ice fishing, hiked the mountain and explored a large maple farm nearby. There is so much to do and all of our experiences have been fresh and new from the cold -15° days to the snowboarding and ice fishing and everything about it has been so much fun. We have met a bunch of great people from all over the world which we have created great friendships and memories with. I was lucky enough to drive a big Chevy Silverado truck which has been a dream of mine and was better than I expected.
The flights were very expensive but and as a part of our contract we were stuck with them and unable to go elsewhere. Apart from this one negative the whole Global experience has been fantastic. I would certainly recommend them to others not only for the peace of mind they provided us with but the amazing experiences that we have had.

I've heard that to get a job in Canada is ridiculously hard. I got into a working program with Global Work & Travel and got their most expensive package. I travelled from Australia to Vancouver, and Vancouver to Banff. I had an interview yesterday, I had an orientation this morning, and now I've got myself a full-time job. They set me up with an interview online and got a job through that way.
But the manager of the place and the franchise sales of that particular establishment in general had no idea we were coming. There was no communication from the lady that was hiring the staff or us in general. They knew about a couple other people but it was myself and two others that they had no idea were coming. And talking to other staff that already worked and have been in Canada for a while, they were concerned that their hours were gonna get cut to make room for us.
When we were recruited we were also told that we would be getting free food while working. I was told that we would get staff accommodations and I find that the staff accommodations are only for the hosts and the cooks, always to the people in the back of house, not the servers or bartenders. I wasn’t lied to but they didn't say what certain people get which accommodation, and we certainly don't eat for free. We get discount food (only to the value of $6) and that’s about it.
I heard though about one guy who did the same thing as me (flew from Australia to Vancouver). But then they had organized him a flight from Vancouver to Calgary and it was a two hour bus ride, whereas I had to find my own way. Whoever he dealt with in Australia I guess must have offered him a different package. They didn’t really offer me the option to fly to Calgary and then get a bus across. I had to find my own way and the bus was the option.
Thank you for your review. We'll look into this and see what might have caused these potential gaps in the communication.

I really don't feel like I got value for money for my 1,600 bucks. I got interested in The Get It All program because it listed a range of factors that facilitates a working holiday with limited issues. But a lot of what was on the Get It All program, you can do all that yourself. You didn't need the Global Work & Travel Co. for that. It was all stuff you could have purchased yourself, and go on the processes and followed them. On a positive note, the people at Global Work & Travel Co. have been good.

I traveled to Banff from Australia through The Global Work & Travel Co's Get It All program. They give you job opportunities, help you with your visa, set up interviews, give you accommodations for five nights. But they need to stress that they offer job opportunities, not jobs. I know that got stressed but the people who ring you when you start, they say they will find you a job. It's kind of false advertising, in fact. I was really lucky in the fact that I had a job when I got here, but during the orientation in Vancouver, there was more people that didn't have jobs than there were people that did. There were six of us and four of them didn't have jobs.
I learned from them to do more research and to look into things. I probably wouldn't do it again and I probably wouldn't recommend it, but I'd suggest people to check it out and do it themselves. Their people, on the other hand, were really lovely and really nice. I didn't have any problem with anyone that worked in The Global Work & Travel Co. They were really good with assisting with everything.

I'm from Australia and I'm now staying in Muskoka in Northern Ontario. I'm pretty lucky -- I've got a real job and a really good place here now. They first arranged my flight and got me accommodation in Vancouver. They provided me with two job opportunities and one was in banks in Alberta, Canada. I went to that interview, but I wasn't successful because they wanted me to extend until September, but I didn't want to stay until September. Then they gave me another job opportunity at the Marriott Hotel, which is where I am now. Today was my first day at the job and it was a good day.
I understand that with Global Work and Travel, direct in commission, the process may be inflated, but if I didn't go for it, I wouldn't have had this opportunity. They were helpful. I was respectful to them, they were respectful to me. The company provided me with what I signed up for, job opportunities which my performance on the interview gave me. I understood the condition before I entered it. Another thing I would recommend to the company would be to screen people before they have interviews, because taking on anyone is a bit chilly. Not everyone is competent to actually work. There are some people there that I met that maybe had a learning disability. They didn't have the actual skill to work. They should screen people first and not just take on anyone.

The program I took part in was offered by Global Work. I gained new friends and am adapting to a new environment quickly as need be. It's been pretty good mostly, but recently, it was quite annoying because I contacted them and got a generic email back from one of the girls. That was quite rude for a generic email and considering the circumstances. She didn't take the time to look at my file and see what my circumstances were for her to send back a personalized email. Nevertheless, it has been an easy, fun, and enjoyable experience.

My Name is Erica and I am from Adelaide, Australia. A last minute decision in August saw my boyfriend and I contacting The Global Work and Travel Co, asking about travel options for a working holiday in Canada for later that year. Then, 14,000 km and 5 months later we were arriving in Vancouver on our way to the HI Hostel for 5 days. During those days we got to see the sights around Downtown and meet the lovely locals. Our orientation saw us meeting multiple other Australians in the same position as us - worried yet excited about the next couple months to come - but Global set our worries aside and helped with all the important nitty gritty processes such as helping with our bank accounts, SIN number and a Canadian sim card.
It has been a month now in since arriving in Canada and I could not thank The Global Work and Travel Co enough for their ongoing support and making all my travel arrangements for me. We are still in contact and they have helped so much through this experience. I honestly do not know if I would have been able to embark on this journey without them.

I had a great time whilst I was there. It didn't take me long to fall into the Africa way of life and just go with the flow. Nothing is planned and I didn't quite do what I had been informed from back home that I would be doing but that was okay. My additional feedback to Global would be to ensure that travelers are given full details before departure. I arrived in Kenya having no contact details of who was picking me up or where I would be staying and they were 1 hour late to pick me up so I had no way of contacting them. Also I recommend informing volunteers heading to Africa that although you have signed on for one thing, they will more than likely change upon your arrival (I was completely okay with this but I stayed with some other volunteers who also came through Global and this bothered them a bit). Other than that the experience was a highly memorable one that I won't be forgetting for a long time!

The Global Work and Travel Co. made my life easier to work and live in the Canadian Rockies for 7 months. Global also helped me with little things such as- picking me up from the airport and having a few days at Vancouver to look around and get over jetlag. They also put me in the right direction and helped me in obtaining a bank account with a Visa debit card and also a social insurance number. The Hi-hostel members card helped me with discounts with hostels in other cities and the Greyhound bus which saved me money which helps while travelling.
It put my mind at ease knowing that I had a job ready for me even before I landed on Canadian soil, with staff accommodation. Meeting people here for the same thing wanting the same experience. Working, living and partying with each other, living in each other’s pocket. There's nearly always someone to spend time with do activities and share experiences with.
I came to Banff at a good time at the start of spring still colder than Australia, but wasn't a freezing cold -30 degrees Celsius. There was still snow so I still had a couple of months to go skiing and experience what Canada's so known for. I had the privilege to see the snow melt and the green grass underneath and the aqua colored rivers and lakes including wildlife such as- Elk, Deer, Squirrels and Bears. I got to go Hiking, Mountain Bike Riding and Canoeing/Kayaking. The Temperature in the summer was perfect, not too hot and humid, compared to the Australian summer. In the middle of summer the Sun was up until 10:30 pm -11 pm.
It's good they have a lot of company's all around Canada to find you a job. It's a lot harder doing it yourself and they give you some other opportunities when your contracts finished and you want a job somewhere else.
I met a lot of people all over the world including Canadians which saved me money when travelling to Ontario. I had somewhere cheaper to stay and people who knows the area and to show us around. Little things like knowing the bus schedule, good bars and restaurants all the sites, to see both tourist and locals. Without Knowing them I would have to spend a lot of time planning my trips only knowing the main tourist attractions and spending a lot more money.
To sum it all up, I had an amazing experience, one of the best experiences of my life, would recommend it to anyone, and hopefully I go back and continue this great experience in the not too distant future.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and to write a review, we really appreciate it. We are very happy to hear you have had an amazing experience! We hope to have you travel with us again soon.

From what I've found there seems to be a huge disconnect from what Global promises and what their contract states. Overall I ended up having a really good experience with Global albeit after a few mistakes (I was sent to a job opportunity where the business didn't even know Global existed). My top 5 experiences about this trip would be (1) exploring Vancouver on a bike - it was so beautiful to see the city and all it has to offer whilst at the same time getting a workout, (2) visiting the Capilano suspension bridge was definitely a highlight; it was so amazing to see a suspension bridge way up in the tall forest - truly a breathtaking sight, (3) working at NiteHawk Skill Hill as a snow maker for a month before it was open was really cool. I got to drive a snowmobile for the first time, and wow, that was blast. I'd definitely recommend it anyone who's never been on one before, (4) becoming a ski instructor is one of my favorite experiences. Only having skied twice prior, I was surprised I got up to par with my skills, and what an adventure it's been so far - teaching people to ski and developing my skills as a skier at the same time is just exquisite, (5) setting up/lighting fireworks on New Year's Eve was so much fun. I've never handled fireworks before and it was just great to have a front-row seat to kick off the new year and celebrating it with wonderful people that I've met along the way in a beautiful country on the other side of the world.

I've signed up for The Global Work & Travel's working holiday program because I was already in America, so why not continue? I paid like $1500 which was a complete waste of $1500 because I realized I could have all done it myself when I got here. They promised me a lot more than what I actually got. I'm happy with the job I'm at now though because of the people around and Global Work & Travel Co. was good. It's just they promised a lot. I liked what they're saying about it but they never actually came through. I got told that I would be at a big resort. Then I could change work when I wanted. Then I ended up in Calgary. I was already traveling so I didn't need any help with my travel needs. But what I've heard from other people was that they charged about triple of what a normal slot would cost if you do it with them.
The worse thing for me was the insurance because I could have gotten another insurance on myself for 8 months. It would have cost me $400 with that but because I went out with Global, I had to pay almost $2000 for 8 months insurance which is a big load of cow feces. It's ridiculous. I could've got insurance for a quarter of the price. I could have done this without them. I've just wasted money and come over do that. I could have done all myself so I've gained experience of don't go through a travel company. They're a waste of money.

My experience in Cambodia was excellent, I was however unhappy with how Global operates. Global's contract forced me to pay an excess of $400 for booking my own flights and insurance, rather than using their travel department. This was because the prices they were going to charge me was so above the market rate that even after paying this fee it was still cheaper for me to book my own flights and insurance. I also found out on my arrival that Global had used another agency 'Love Volunteers' who found me my placement in Cambodia. Love volunteers only charges $720 for 6 weeks and Global charged me $2,200 for 5 weeks. When I decided to extend my trip by a week I did it directly with the organization I was placed with in Cambodia (Star Kampuchea) who charge me $77 for the additional week. The company structure felt to me like it was designed to extract money from volunteers that just want to lend a hand to developing countries. I felt taken advantage of from Global and I would never use them again and have advised friends to use organizations such as Love Volunteers instead.
Hi George, thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you were able to enjoy such a unique experience in Cambodia and that you enjoyed the support of our partners on the ground, we are sorry to hear that your experience with our company was less than satisfactory. As we're sure you can appreciate, our partners worldwide depend on agents such as our company as a source of manpower, exposure and funding. We believe your calculations for our partners wholesale pricing may be a little off, but regardless you’re correct that we aren’t the cheapest. However, we do provide a level of service, security and support that budget organisations cannot match. We work our very best to ensure our volunteers can get from their home countries to our partner projects safely and on time. In our experience, volunteers that book their own flights, routinely arrive outside the "pick-up windows”, miss connections, have difficulty changing dates in the need to return home early, plus a range of other inconveniences budget airfares don’t cater to. Similarly, we know our insurance package provides the best coverage for the programs we offer, and thus we stand by it as it is not our wish, nor that of our partners, that any of our volunteers miss their placement, arrival pick-up or orientation, or experience any ill or mishap that cannot be covered through a sufficient insurance policy. Again George, we are glad you were a part of such a unique experience in Cambodia (that’s why we work with the partners that we do), and we know that thanks to your experience you will go on to do great things for the benefit of others. We’d like to discuss this further with you to learn more from your feedback, as to where we can improve. I’m three weeks into my trip. I’m just having a blast. If you’re not cautious or worried about moving, The Global Work and Travel is definitely helpful.

I wasn't sure at first about going with such a big company. I didn't want to get lost in the system with the chunders of other applicants; however I took that chance because I read so many great reviews and started my application process. I emailed inquiring about some programs and within the next few days I was contacted straight away and had any questions answered by the salesperson (he was very helpful and honest with all the questions I had asked etc). After I was in the next stage I was passed on the representative if you will who has been so so very helpful throughout the application, matching, pre-departure processes etc. I am very please with the prompt and honest responses I have received, and I would highly recommend this agency as they have been so helpful.

I'm from Brisbane, Australia and I'm currently in Vancouver but I'm going to Alberta, Canada. I was in the Get a Lot program, the one with everything, but haven't really got into it so much. I arrived in Vancouver and everything was sorted. Everything was pretty organized. The people from Global Work and Travel have been really good. They've helped me out with everything. I don't think I'm being the easiest person to employ but they've met my needs and I've got the job that I wanted now so I'm happy. The program sort of made me more of a people person. It's like I've had to get out there a lot more. I come from quite a small town so to be in such a big city and meet people has really been a challenge but I've really enjoyed it. The Global Work and Travel provides exciting opportunities.

Global Work & Travel Co. is great. I'm from Australia and I traveled to Canada. It was exciting and felt like an adventure all the way to Canada on my own. The program was pretty straightforward. I got on the plane, got here and they set me up with the orientation that was really well constructed. They helped me out with the social insurance number and bank account and that was all great help to set me up. I probably wouldn't be able to do that all on my own. The team was friendly and very helpful. It's great to experience working out in the snow. I've never done that before. I hope to do this some more - just working in the snow fields in my day to day life in the future. I'm happy. It was a great program and I like it. It's an exciting adventure.

They informed me what exactly I needed to be doing in preparation, so when I got all my finances in order and my visa approved then it was as easy as getting on a plane. From Brisbane Australia, I travel across the world to the beautiful Los Angeles for a couple of days. Great way to get a bit of sightseeing in downtown LA. Then I ate my way around Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach for a day, enjoyed a few local beverages then flew to the super cool city of Vancouver, Canada.
This is where a group of us got tools to sort out what we needed living and working in another country. After being in Vancouver for a week, shopping way too much then busing it to Whistler which is where I am currently enjoying the snow for the first time in my life!! I've met so many people from across the globe, shared some stories and eaten in loads of amazing restaurants and bars. I would totally recommend travel to anyone wanting a change in their life. You won't regret it. It's just getting started here but I'm loving every minute of it. It's super crazy how many people don't take advantage of travelling the globe. There is so much opportunity to go live a life you dream of. Let Global help you get there!

I have The Get It All Program mainly because that way I'd have a little more support for secondary jobs and things like that. Global Work and Travel has been pretty good. It was just the email set up and then the orientation. When I actually came to Canada it was really helpful and they gave us tons of information of things to go on when we're in Vancouver and around the country and what's up. I did the Get It All at once. I’m from Perth, Australia and I travelled to Ontario, Canada. I wanted to come over to Canada for working holiday to get the experience and learn a different culture and live in a different kind of environment. And also I wanted to learn how to skate and Canada’s the best place to come for that. But my experience with The Global Work & Travel Co. has not been very good. The orientation was good and people at The Global are all friendly but every time, I dealt with a different person... every email was a different person... every phone call was a different person. So it’s never very personal. They didn’t communicate with each other so they never knew who I was, or what I was doing, where I was going.
I’m happy that they got me here but in terms of help, I would definitely not recommend them to anyone. Being in Canada has been great but I found that I had to do everything on my own. Like you pay a certain amount of money for Global to set it all up for you but basically you come here and do it all yourself, which is fine but then I wouldn’t have bothered to go through the program if I could have done it all myself. It’s good that they got me the job interview but I feel like that’s all they did. They say they get you a visa and a bank account and they basically just send you a link for a visa and you do it yourself. They just give you a map and say, “Here’s the bank, here’s where you get your pin number.”
They don’t really fulfill your needs and also they messed up my flight so I ended up having to pay an extra $500 and that wasn’t my fault. And that happened to two other people that I’m with and we all had to pay extra. And then also they had to book a hotel for us because they screwed up our flight so we had to stay overnight. And when we got to the hotel, the hotel said that they had called and cancelled our booking so we had to pay again even though we already paid Global.
Thank you for your review Leah, and for providing us feedback, we appreciate it. Sorry to hear that you weren't fully happy with your experience. A big part of our 'Get It All' program is that we'll organise everything ready so all you have to do is pretty much just turn up and things will be sorted. Sure it is possible to do a lot of the things on your own, but our aim is to always be there to help you before, during and after your journey to take a lot of the work & stress away from you. Nice to hear you were happy with the job opportunity aspects. In regards to all the other inclusions, we assume you have actually received all the inclusions of your program, but if you think or feel that this might not be the case, please contact us on feedback@globalworkandtravel.com and we can make sure you are being taken good care of.
We will also use your feedback to review our processes internally, and look into seeing where we can make improvements.

They are a small family owned company. They should change their name to global work and rip off. They charge you thousands of dollars for 'insurance'. They have been investigated by ACCC and have been reported by today tonight. They don't even guarantee you a job. This is all stuff you can do yourself, or go with someone else. Unfortunately I found all this out after I'd paid the $695 signup fee. You will get overcharged by thousands of dollars. They booked me on the wrong flight from not even my city, then they said this was a return flight but it was a one way and it was also the most expensive when I did more research (said it was the cheapest!).
I was so excited about everything then all of a sudden started to realize GW&T wasn't here to help, it was just to do as little for me as possible & OVERCHARGE. I got to Banff and was chatting to people who had gone through them as well. The first thing they said was they wished they hadn't used them. Of course you will see good reviews online but do you want to know who does them? THEY DO! With the way those reviews are written it's fairly obvious it's by them except to stupid people. If you want to use a company then there is plenty of others who aren't there to rip you off. Just saw them investigated on the 7:30 report. SURPRISE SURPRISE!!

Every person I spoke to as I got further and further into booking my program (Africa big 5 wildlife paradise vo-06) were very helpful and communicated quite clearly. Once my program was totally booked I was kept in touch with via email, constantly getting updates or new relevant information sent to me which I greatly appreciated since I was so nervous about my trip! I was very happy that once I had started my volunteering adventure in South Africa, everything went very smoothly so I had no need to contact Global and like the first lady from Global had advised me about my experience was accurate. I do not recommend anyone go through Global Work & Travel Co. Fastest and easiest way to lose money is by giving it over to these guys. I was constantly told lies from the beginning of my program. They are not clear on anything they say. I asked for an invoice of the costings of my program to date and they couldn't even provide me with that. Be prepared to talk to 10+ different customer reps and be ready to jump through rings of unaccountability. I could go on for years about how bad this company is...
We understand you are quite upset, especially as you were set to go on such an incredible program! However according to our records there were a few issues with your program that hindered you from completing the pre-departure coordination phase and jetting off to South Korea! We note that issues arose which stemmed from your reluctance to obtain travel insurance (which was a necessity as stated by both our admin team, coordinator and our partner on the ground), this lead to a period of time where you were unresponsive to our attempts to make contact with you, from both our admin staff, coordination team as well as our partner on the ground. Despite repeated attempts, emails and calls, you were unreachable. Due to time constraints you were then unable to proceed with the service we were providing. We firmly believe that your particular experience has been marred and delayed by several factors, including your reluctance to communicate with us, your reluctance to resolve any issues that have arisen, as well as your unwillingness to proceed with the program experience that you signed up for that we had provided. Our records indicate that you were offered a handsome contract with a school in South Korea, but because of your unwillingness to meet all requirements (Travel Insurance) prior to accepting this, we could not progress your file further (despite everything being in place). Of course we did seek to make an alternative arrangement for you and postpone your trip, to save your funds and put them into a future intake at no extra cost, despite the many hours and staff poured into providing you with this service, however again, you were unresponsive. There’s only so much we can organise and assist with to get you to South Korea if you don’t respond to us. Please, we invite you to discuss your experience with us, and allow us to work with you to resolve this. Please email us at supplierrelations@globalworkandtravel.com
