    This is the third time I’ve tried to use Spirit Airlines and they’ve failed to assist me yet again. I am happy to pay the difference for future flights … These people in customer service are horrendous. horrible. I didn’t take my flight because my son had orders from the Coast Guard to assist military victims‘ families of the latest hurricane season. Tried to cancel before the flight by contacting customer services. No one returned my communications. Tried again to talk to a real person - no dice - after over 2 hours on “chat” they would not credit or refund any portion of my round trip to SF Bay Area. How do they stay in business? Do Not travel with this airline because if something goes wrong (and it does) they will offer little or no assistance to help. Not even for the military. No Stars.

    If I could give Spirit a zero I would. This is the worse airline. First of all when I called to make arrangements to get a flight I clearly told the lady I wanted to fly into Southbend Indiana. Clearly explained to her I had just received a call that my sister had passed and needed a flight into Southbend ASAP. After I arrived at the airport only to find out she booked me a flight into Indianapolis Indiana airport which now caused me to have to find a ride from Indianapolis to Southbend. So after that was all over on my flight back as I cleared the check point one of the females that stand in front of boarding said, "Ma'am you need to consolidate your purse." so I put my purse in my carry on, then I was told that my luggage has to go under the aircraft.

    Long story short after giving the lady my LV bag to place under the aircraft I was told to proceed to the plane. After the airline employee told me to proceed one of the guy employees ran up and push me backwards in my chest. I was assaulted by an employee. I filed a complaint and nothing has been done concerning this matter. I will be filing a civil lawsuit against this company.

    Also once I made it home and checked my luggage only to realize someone went through my LV bag and stolen my Tori Burch shoes. Also a brand new pair of Air Force Ones sneakers. This is the worse airline ever. But I guess you get what you pay for. I will never use this airline ever again and I will not stop until I am heard. Spirit I want you to take responsibility for the actions of your workers

    This airline is a joke. Every single time there is either a mechanical issue delaying your flight or someone already at your gate. I sat on the plane 60 min after arriving waiting on our gate to open. Mind you this is after my flight was already delayed by 2 hours. Such a waste of my time. This is one of many instances. I’ve attempted to give them another shot just to be disappointed yet again.

    We have flown Spirit before. It isn't the best, but the price was the lowest. You get what you pay for. This last time I tried to travel was so horrendous that I will never fly Spirit again. I was flying up to visit family, but our son wound up in the hospital. We tried to change my ticket. After many calls and efforts to change the ticket, Spirit actually canceled it on me. They gave me a $53 refund and said they would sell me a new ticket for $359. Never again!

    If you can at all help it avoid Spirit Airlines like AIDS! Every flight was late and created major problems as I have a service dog. My K9 was not able to relieve himself because of late flights. Staff gave me conflicting answers. Some tried to help the situation but their unreliability is their downfall. I will never give them the chance to do me dirty again.

    The physical airline experience was fine. However I was really disappointed after reaching out to the Spirit Airlines customer support number. I asked an agent to retrieve the receipt from the checked bag purchase I made the day before my flight. The man said that they have no way of finding it since too much time has passed (only 4 days ago), and that I should have contacted them about the missing receipt that day, which according to him all this could be avoided if I did that.

    We barely spoke for more than 5 minutes until he hung up on me after I told him it was unacceptable to not email their customers a baggage receipt. Without that I won't be able to be reimbursed by my company now. He also couldn't even send me an email showing that I made the purchase (which he confirmed he could see on his computer). Spirit should really be better about this and not make their customers have to contact them about receipts they never got. By the way nowhere on their website is there a number to get a hold of a physical person, only an AI chat bot and some FAQ's! I had to Google the actual number (1-877-777-5946) for a real person, but beware they may not be of any help.

    Do yourself a favor and spend the money for Alaska OR ANY OTHER AIRLINE! We’ve been delayed 3x for a 1.5 hour flight, which means we are sitting at the airport way longer than the flight! Never again will I make this mistake! What a pisser!

    I convinced my cousins to use Spirit for our trip to cancun. Unfortunately we have had a bad time. My bag was checked by an employee and I know this because I now have a chanel makeup bag that was not mine and my laptop is missing, plus the sticker that states they checked my bag. When I called to report that my laptop was missing the rep proceeded to tell me that they have had a lot of theft coming out of cancun and they suspect an employee. Spirit wants an original receipt. It was a work computer purchased by my previous employer who went out of business and let me keep the computer. The CEO of the previous company is now who I contract for. I had 2 HP computers but sold one and gave one to my niece because I had the acer laptop for work. My CEO wrote a letter to spirit that the original receipt would not be available due to it being left with the original investors but that wasn't good enough.

    Spirit's thieving employees just cost me 1,550.00 for a new laptop that I really didn't have to give. Spirit wants me to jump thru hoops when I am the victim of them. I have flown for years and never had this problem. They need to do the right thing and put some money on this laptop they cost me and investigate their employees and why the claim center is claiming they have a problem coming from Cancun. I have filed a BBB complaint, a police report and I am looking into an attorney. Yea it may cost me but if they have thieving, they have a bigger problem and more people need to speak up.

    Spirit airlines scammed me and stole my money. Redmon in customer service said that it is my fault I paid for something that is supposed to be free. He enabled thievery from the gate agent who sold me a seat that was offered as free. They charged my card and stole my money from me they are thieves. Customer service enabled what happened, specifically Redmon. They stole money from me and refused to return it when I addressed the issue.

    Horrible experience. We visited New York from the Netherlands and after a few days we had a flight to Las Vegas with Spirit Airlines. An hour before our flight Spirit canceled the flight. We had the options of a refund or another flight. The other flight was 3 days later and we had no accommodation in New York and already paid our hotel in Vegas. Spirit doesnt want to help with anything and just says they are not liable. We had to pay more than 2000 dollar for a hotel and cab as it was a busy weekend and we were in NYC. Worst experience ever.

    If I could give zero I would- Friday they delayed the flight for my son from pittsburgh - so he arrived later but they changed it back and and he missed it along with 7 other people really!!! They would not do anything- He’s 19! We had to get an uber to a hotel and get another airline sat mornjng. Now tonight- He gets to newark for a 5:30 flight at 3:30- He waited 4 hours for that plane that kept getting delayed to leave! Never again! Do not fly this terrible airline!!!

    Going from L.A. to Las Vegas on Spirit, the departure time was changed, but the flight departed at the original time without any notice. This caused me significant inconvenience and I missed my flight as a result. Specifics: On 08/08/24, Spirit Airlines Flight #2699 was originally scheduled to depart at 5:13pm (PST). At 1:04pm, it was announced that the flight would be delayed for almost 2 hours, until 7:09pm. However, at 4:44pm, it was announced that the flight would leave close to the original time – 5:40pm. There was absolutely no way we could make it to the airport and board the plane with that short notice. We were not the only frustrated travelers – The Spirit ticketing desk had numerous poor souls like us who were perplexed and furious about Spirit’s mess up.

    This is by far the worst airline I have ever dealt with, they will charge you more for your bag than for your seat, they will trash your bag then find some loophole in some 7 page contract that says they don't have to do anything and you're screwed. I WILL NEVER USE SPIRIT AGAIN and I recommend that no one does. They also changed my flights 6 times in 3 months without my consent, Don't fly spirit!

    Why did I fall for Spirit cheap fairs? Never again! Their pricing is the ultimate Bait and Switch. Want to check in luggage? $70! Not the normal $35 or $40. Want to bring a carry-on? Not so fast - that will be $70 as well! For a carry-on! Now this is where it starts to get interesting. For my flight to LAX, I tried to check in at the kiosk and it wasn't working. After trying several times, I waited in line to talk to a representative. When I got to the counter she said I was checking in within 45 minutes and that wasn't allowed. It was literally 44 minutes, time-stamped on the error ticket the kiosk printed. Mind you, I was not checking in luggage and I'm TSA pre-check. I regularly get to the airport within 45 minutes and make my flight without any issues. Not with Spirit.

    She then proceeded to tell me that since I "missed my flight", they'd have to charge me $100 to go on the next flight. They wouldn't put me on standby at no charge like other airlines! Are you for real? After arguing for a few minutes, I paid the $100 because I knew I could get to the gate and try to catch my flight. Of course, I made it to the gate with extra time, only to have the gate agent tell me, I wasn't on that flight and would have to pay another $100 to change it back to the original.

    Now, I was really pissed! I let her have it and then finally obliged to pay the $100 to avoid waiting at the airport for 3 hours until the next flight. And then, she had the gall to tell me, "Oh, I'm sorry, we need to close the doors in a few minutes and I won't have time to process all the computer work to change the ticket". I lost my *ish. The door was still open! Spirit's main objective is to screw the passenger out of as much money as possible and making flying a horrible experience. DON'T FALL FOR THEIR BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING - YOU'LL REGRET IT!

    The airline has a very misleading fee system. It affords you a low ticket price but has a substantial catch: you pay much more for a carry on bag and you don't even get as much as a cup of water on flight without paying more. By the end of the flight, you're better off having paid more via another airline for an overall better customer service experience.

    We are at the Ft Lauderdale airport. We have been waiting for the Spirit flight. Delay 1 was they had to wait for a plane... Delay 2 now the plane is hot and can’t fly… but they had 15 Spirit Employees at the gate that could get on and wait on the plane. Highly recommended not to fly Spirit. They will be delayed and have excuses why terrible service.

    Lousiest airline in the world. Would not recommend to even my worst enemy 100%! As it is, I’m getting an attorney involved for my experiences! I was flying from Wisconsin to Seattle Washington to visit my daughter before my flight even landed, My connecting flight had taken off due to the incompetence of whoever booked my flight initially! They stated they would pay for a taxi and accommodations and after sitting at the airport for three hours, They said that request was denied because the issue was due to weather, which was clearly false! Which is another reason an attorney is becoming involved! I had to pay for my own taxi and my own accommodations for the night and when I returned at the airport the following morning for the 7 AM flight they promised I was told the plane had maintenance issues and the next flight would be leaving Saturday at 12:30, which is absolutely unacceptable!

    I don’t get out to see my daughter very often and when I do, they are usually short visits and spirit airlines is trying to take two of the days away from that visit! No, that’s not going to happen! It’s really funny that I was able to jump right over to Alaska Airlines and get an immediate flight to SeaTac! How can Alaska be so competent and wonderful and spirit be so incompetent and lousy? They would not even admit that it was their error. They blamed the weather, which is very easy to prove there was no weather issue! And Spirit has not reimbursed any money whatsoever which is also unacceptable, especially because it was the airlines errors not mine! That flight should never have taken off before we landed. The fact that it did is also incompetent.

    Why would they not wait for passengers there were 200 passengers on that flight! I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up with multiple lawsuits because of their incompetence! Most of the reviews I read are terrible. That’s just how bad they really are and I’m surprised that they’re still in the air considering they’re too incompetent to properly book a flight!

    We just used Spirit Airlines for the first and last time to fly from Columbus to Vegas. There are no words to truly describe how tiny of a space on the hardest seats but that sums that up. Most uncomfortable seat EVER. THE WIDTH OF SPACE FOR SHOULDERS is about 10 inches. And we are very average size. EVERYTHING IS ALACART so by time you add up all the fees, you're equal to the rest of your options for airlines. Also, used app for all input of ticket purchase,

    Paid seat selected, and baggage fees. I accidentally selected 1 carry on instead of 1 baggage checked in. Same price. App wouldn't let me cancel and switch. So upon check in, you'd think since I had already paid the fee they could fix it in their system. Nope. Charged me an additional fee to do so - $19.00. Total for 1 baggage - $79.00. Terrible experience.

    First let me say that I'm terrified to fly! When I heard we were flying Spirit, I had never even heard of them. Naturally, I asked friends who fly frequently. Responses I received were, "Ohhh, it's been nice knowing you," and "You gotta be right with the Holy Ghost to fly Spirit!" Not very reassuring since, again, I'm TERRIFIED to fly. But, I really wanted to go. I was AMAZED. I understand that they charge for everything and pretty much nothing is included in the ticket price but so what? Brought some chips and a drink. Seating was cramped but worth the price of the ticket in my opinion. I did not have a long flight and it may have been different if I did but, I thought it was great. Flight attendants were really nice. Even the Captain was saying bye as we got off. I would definitely fly them again.

    I am a physically disabled person; they broke my wheelchair cushion, caused me to have to pay an extra day for dog care services due to their delays in October 2023. They don’t care about disabled people flying with their airline. They have continued to deny my claims because I missed the 4-hour flight incident reporting deadline that I never knew about.

    Flying with Spirit Airlines is ridiculous. I paid 117.00 for seat selection to arrive at the airport and have my seats taken from me as they overbooked the flight. That's not a me problem, that is a Spirit Airlines problem. The point of purchasing 3 seats together is so my family could all be together and then find out we are all separated and my underage daughter is ok to sit with someone else as long as the parents are on the flight. I'm sorry but that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The people working the counter at MCO need better manners. First and last flight with Spirit and I will continue to tell everyone I know how terrible the service is!

    Paid for a flight in July to fly from Newark N.J. to Dallas Tx in October. Now they tell me my flight was changed from a non-stop flight to connecting flights. I cancelled the reservation cause Spirit has a bad reputation and now I understand that bad reputation; I no longer trust the airline and I don't want to get stuck in Orlando.     On return trip from Vegas I checked in online. The first problem was I had booked the big seat option for myself and my wife. The airline had my wife in
    row 2 and I was assigned row 25. Trying to contact customer support is impossible. No reply to my inquiry as to why this happened. We arrived at airport
    4 hrs early in hope of getting this corrected but couldn’t get it changed. Then we got notice of 2 hr delay. Plane arrived an hour later. They had pilots but

    no crew. Flight then canceled with next option to get home 2 days later with a 5 hr layover. Only option was to get refund for this segment of flight or stay 2 more days and wait. Good luck getting a cheap option in Vegas for a Friday, Saturday stay plus taxi costs and meals.

    We ended up spending the night at airport and paying $600 for a 6 am flight home to Minneapolis the next morning. A lot of families with small children and elderly and people with disabilities left to fend for themselves with no help from Spirit. No options with helping book you on another airline, no hotel or food vouchers. All we received was a sorry about this. I will never make the mistake of using this airline again. I have a Spirit mastercard and have been a member for over ten years and have 200,000 points that I use to purchase my trips and have used Spirit numerous times over the years but never again. They did absolutely nothing to help a sold out flight of customers stranded with nothing but a sorry from them. SORRY is what they are. I understand problems can happen but the complete lack of help from this airline is inexcusable and they have lost another former loyal customer.

    My experience with Spirit Airlines was a nightmare. What started as a budget-friendly flight turned into a disaster. I was overcharged for my bags with no explanation, and when I tried to resolve the issue, customer service was rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, they threatened to prevent me from boarding when I expressed my frustration. The flight itself was delayed, cramped, and uncomfortable, but what really stands out is how poorly they treat their customers. Spirit Airlines lacks basic respect and decency. I will never fly with them again, and I urge you to avoid them too.

    This was the worst trip I’ve ever taken with Spirit from MCO-ATL. It was ok. But to do a total of 13-14 delays and then decide to cancel the trip ATL-MCO at 3:30 am and the reps had very bad communication and attitude issues. The only compensation was a 12 dollar meal ticket which wasn’t sufficient enough. I wouldn’t recommend Spirit Airlines to no one on Earth…. Very inconsiderate and inconvenient… Spirit has the worse customer service and flight attendants in the aircraft business. Never Again.

    I will never fly Spirit again. They charge $130 for a small carryon. They changed my flight like 6 times which put me way late for a function and the reason I was flying in the first place. Wouldn't give a refund. I ended up taking the last flight. After landing in Vegas for a connecting flight, we sat out on the tarmac for 20 minutes. Then sat outside the skyway for another 30 minutes before deplaning.

    Unreliable, delays and trip cancellations without providing alternative travel options. Planning and scheduling is out of question if you are flying with this airline. My flight was scheduled for 5 pm. They sent 6 emails announcing delays by 1 hour, another 1.5 hour, another hour and the last one was 11:30 pm! Then I got a cancellation notification and had no time to find another flight. I missed an important event. I will never travel by Spirit Air again.

    They cancelled the flight few minutes before boarding. Didn't offer a refund or an alternative. I receive a notification 17 hours later that my check for the return flight is due. I was never boarded on the flight to my destination. I called/wrote to the chat and they said they booked my Mom on a flight 15 hours later to depart at 7:00 AM with Southwest??? I was not offered a refund option

    This review is way past due. I had a ticket purchased to fly Spirit Airline. My husband got sick and was in the hospital. After hours spent on the phone talking, exchanging messages trying to get a refund (providing a proof about hospital stay). I got nowhere. I don't understand how this is legal, why this airline still exists. Why people still fly them? Fly any other domestic airline, I'm sure you will receive a better customer service.

    I can say that the airline is terrible. If you are tall I do not recommend this airline. Charge you to the air you breathe. The water is charged for snacks too. Even for sitting you get charged. It's terrible in every way. I'm 6/4 and there's no room for me. I travel with two dogs. You buy the ticket for $200. You pay the seat, suitcase, belongings and if you don't pay you travel super uncomfortable. I last time I swear.

    I had a flight scheduled early on July 19, 2024. We arrived on time only to find check-in kiosk was down. Lined up with everyone else wondering what was going on. A airport worker explained about the global outage that started on the East Coast. Spirit Airlines could not have handled this situation better, doing everything by hand, they were so nice...of course, everything was late, but somehow we arrived in Portland Ore only 10 minutes late. Thumbs up Spirit, you guys did such a great job, be proud of yourselves.

    We had 70 minutes to make a connection to a Spirit flight out of Phoenix and were told we had to get boarding passes from Spirit directly. It took 20 minutes to reach their desk upon which we were told we were 5 minutes too late. The agent could only rebook the next day on an indirect connection. They were going to charge a rebooking fee of $120 but waived the fee (thank you). But the next day the indirect connection was delayed and we would not have made the final flight. They told us all they could do was book us on the next day for a rebooking fee of $200. We are now waiting 2 days in Phoenix, with $250 in hotel bills, $100 in cab fares paid, and $200 in food costs. Hopefully, they will fly us out tomorrow. Airport information tells us that Spirit has the worst reputation of all the airlines. They are especially bad at keeping their schedule. Beware of using Spirit in any plan that involves making a connection!

    Spirit canceled our flights for our return home during the crowdstrike microsoft outage. After canceling our flights and waiting in lines for several hours, we were told that Spirit was unable to book us a hotel or book us on a new flight since all their computers were down. We booked a hotel on our own. The next day Spirit's website was having tons of issues so we still could not rebook, it was impossible to get through to their customer service line, and the airport agent line was out the door and down the street in 110 degree Vegas heat. We needed to get home so we booked new flights with spirit.     It took me approximately 10 hours using the customer service phone number, app and messaging service to book a flight for an unaccompanied minor. The customer service rep asked the same questions repeatedly and when the flight was finally booked sent me a broken link to make the payment. The link was only valid for 20 minutes and Spirit offered no assistance so that I could make the payment so then reservation was cancelled for non-payment. It then took me another 5 hours on hold with their messaging service (messaging service stated an agent would assist me in 20 minutes...) to get the flight booked. If it was not a necessity to fly into Atlantic City I would have not booked on Spirit. However, from this point forward I will NEVER fly Spirit.

    Everyone knows Spirit Airlines is the worst airline out there. But the lure of cheap flights often tempts people to take the risk. Inevitably, the experience reinforces the airline's terrible reputation. My recent trip is a perfect example. I'd been looking forward to a four-day East Coast getaway and had planned accordingly. But the ominous choice of Spirit Airlines cast a shadow over my excitement. My itinerary involved a Portland to Baltimore flight with a one-hour layover in Vegas.

    On the morning of the trip, I received multiple emails about flight delays, each stating a 15-minute delay. However, both flights ended up being significantly delayed. As I boarded the first flight, a familiar sense of dread washed over me. We finally arrived at 12:45 AM, with my connecting flight scheduled for 1:35 AM. For a moment, it seemed like Spirit had miraculously pulled through.

    But the nightmare was far from over. As we approached the gate, the pilot announced a minor issue causing a 15-minute delay. Two hours later, we were still sitting on the tarmac. After an hour of this torment, they offered free water, which arrived an hour later. My carefully planned vacation was in ruins, and the constant, loud noise inside the plane made the ordeal even worse.

    Flight from Detroit to LAX via Las Vegas was delayed 8 TIMES! There is no one to talk to. Their chatbox does not recognize their own reservation number and does not connect you to an actual agent that can help. It says estimated time is 45 minutes but you are still waiting 2 hours later.

    Spirit is the most useless airline I ever saw in United States. Am a frequent flyer with United but option to fly Spirit for the first time and lo and behold they didn’t cease to disappoint me. First off, all my flight was scheduled to fly out at 5.38 pm and I didn’t get to fly out of departing city untill 8.45 pm and the only excuse was that the pilot showed up 3 hrs later than the flight scheduled and upon taking off, my flight had a layover in Vegas and they just cancelled the second segment of my flight and told me they can get me to my destination 2 days after my original flight and doesn’t provide hotels or food. Basically told me to sleep at the airport for 48hrs. Spirit is a mess. Am wondering how they are still able to operate in United States with all of that.

    Spirit Airlines; I purchased my round trip ticket from Pensacola to Fort Lauderdale, FL. That was the most terrible trip I've ever had. On the way back, the flight that was supposed to leave around 7:20 am was canceled at the last minute and renewed for the next day at 4:30 pm. Officials said the reason would be the bad weather in Pensacola, which was the biggest joke told to passengers. I made a call to friends in Pensacola who told me there was no problem, that everything was in order. Customer service giving incorrect explanations and very rude treatment. With all this, I had to buy another ticket from another company so that my wife and I could be in Pensacola on the same day. Other airline were taking off every 102 minute from Charlotte Douglas airport. They just said go home and call customer service. How can I go home and finally live in New York.     I flew in on July 11 with Spirit with my bag which fitted under the chair and I was in charge. I had my jacket and my little pillow and a little bag behind my back just to have my credit card and my keys. When I got back July 14th my flight was delayed. I had a little bag with chips and water my backpack which was very tiny. It was a little purse. My jacket and my pillow I put it in another bag due to the fact that I had injuries in my back and I couldn't have too much in my hands. When I got to the doors the guy didn't even wave my bag. I could have put it in front of my chair. I removed everything from the other bag cuz it was just my pillow. My jacket and the little bag and my little backpack that you can't even fit close in it. Just a credit card and keys and maybe your makeup.

    He was very aggressive and told me, "Give me your credit card." I told him why he charged me $79 and also told me because I got upset that he will call the cops on me. Poor customer service. There was other people with a bigger bag. Louis Vuitton bags and they didn't tell them anything. My bag was so tiny he could have just let me go. He didn't even weigh my bike cuz there was only clothes. The same way I got there it was the same way I left. The only thing was that I put my jacket and my potato chips and my water and my little pillow and another bag which I was going to remove it and I would have end up just with my regular bag.

    I was treated like an animal. I am very disgusted and upset I hope that they can make the employees more polite and especially in Puerto Rico that all they want is money. When I left from Fort Lauderdale I was treated with respect and nobody bother me with the little bag of her and that's the same thing I brought back. To charge me $79 is not acceptable.

They try to fleece customers at every opportunity possible and in return offer nothing back when there are delays, etc. Furthermore, their own policies seem to apply based on the employees' whims. Passenger with similar luggage are treated differently, almost there is bias and discrimination. Most importantly, they don't even serve water unless you pay, being denied such a basic necessity. I don't know how health related govt. agencies can let such airlines operate which can endanger the lives of people.     This was the WORST experience I have ever had with any airline. Cheap - not so much my flight for my husband and I was over 1000 so not a cheap flight. The departure was scheduled 6/28 - was delayed multiple times then finally delayed until the next morning, then delayed AGAIN, making us miss our cruise time. We had to pay for a hotel (this would be 2 hotels because of the overnight stay originally).

    When I tried multiple times and many hours lost to get a refund and a reason for the delay - because no one explained anything, they insisted that there was no delay despite all my saved text messages, emails of delay notifications, and boarding pass proving the flight was delayed - they INSIST there was no delay.     Deceitful practices, they lower the price to get you to purchase a ticket. Knowing not everyone read the fine print because you expect most airlines sale tickets with seats and carry on bags included in the price. Well, not Spirit.     We have traveled with multiple airline carriers domestically and internationally in the past year, from United Airlines, AA to international airlines, Spirit is the best one for a number of reasons: staffs have been very helpful in a couple of delayed flights (they rebooked for our whole family way the WBI team even when it was their closing time); the smoothest flights that we had experienced even it was stormy (they surely have the most experienced pilots than even the international air carriers; we have had bad experience with United Airline when it comes to pilots dealing with turbulence and landing); although spirit doesn’t offer free drinks or food, we preferred cheap cost and managed to fill out our water bottles in the airports and brought snacks for a short trip.

No checks and balances on employees. No directive nor expectations are set with frontline employees. Employees have been given green light to act as they please.     My mother flew Spirit Airlines to the Atlanta airport. I always have to order her a wheelchair because she's almost to her 90th birthday. Her flight landed just before 7pm and Spirit had her sitting at the gate until 8:35 pm to be wheeled to the front door. I spoke to the Gate Agent Supervisor Andrew C. at 7:40 and all he was able to offer me is that he ordered wheelchair service. He didn't say when or why it was taking so long. Just that he ordered it. This is absolutely unacceptable! In my opinion it's not only a horrible experience, but a danger as well, because she is past due on her medication time.     Today was the SECOND time in the past couple months that Spirit cancelled my flight. I was the fourth person in line to rebook/get a refund and the customer service rep could not have been more rude. She had a nasty attitude from the get-go, offered another flight several days later and then told me I needed to call Customer Service. Hell no! I reminded her that was her job! Another agent came over and was able to fix whatever the issue was and issue a refund in 10 seconds. I will be cancelling my Spirit credit card and plan to NEVER fly this unreliable airline again.     First, my flight was changed without my consent, because of that my 5 years old daughter and I had to sleep on the airport floor. Second, when we got to our destination I realized my suitcase had been raided. Shoes, handbags, an electronic device STOLEN. The employees had a field day with my luggage. When I receive it I did think it was little lighted but I was exhausted and just wanted to go and rest. I had to go to the airport the next day to report it. I received an email asking for documentation and receipts. I sent the documents but I was not in my country of residency so I’ll look for the receipts when I’m back, if I had any. And some of the items were gifts.

    When I sent a receipt, I was told the time had expired and that no documents had ever received. I said I sent them the day I received the email and also asked about what had been done regarding the employees that stole from me (security cameras, schedules) but no answers as they had already closed my case. I said it been two days and that I want to talk to someone over the phone, but no answer either. So, the employee(s) got off easy, since no answer was given to me when I asked about it. Terrible customer service, you could tell from the beginning they were not going to help. Never flying with Spirit again.

    Read your fine print carefully. Yes, they make it really small so they can reject you at the counter. We arrived on time, but were told that we were late and were denied entry and cancelled our flight including the extra I paid for WIFI. The rude (all foreign agents who can barely talk English) at the counter are heartless and are just there collecting a paycheck. Whatever happened to "customer service"? Not only were they rude, but did not bother or try to help with finding us a new flight. (I guess the language barrier was too great and they just shooed us away.) Needless to say, they stole our payment as they would not refund nor apply what I paid to get another flight.

    We ended up paying/losing $500 one way with American Airlines. We are not rich and it is painful to have to use up your spending money because of the idiots at Spirit Airlines. I will NEVER fly with this inadequate, poorly run piece of crap airlines again! I hope others take note. Yes, it's cheap in every way, including the seats, the rude flight attendants and making you pay extra for luggage, seats, food, drinks and more. You've been warned.     Worst flight ever! Booked it first and last time!!!! Such an unprofessional airline!!!! They don’t care if your belongings are taken care of or not while booking and during booked! I travelled from Dallas to LGA and when landed and headed out to pick up my luggage! Come to find out my luggage was broken into and items were hanging out of it!

    A Spirit representative saw the damaged while I was claiming my bag and questioned the gentleman on what can I do to report this damage! He mentioned for me to submit a claim since he has witnessed it by his own eyes! A spirit airline representative! So I submitted a claim! Within an hour or so I received an automated email that my bag wasn’t properly packed according to spirit guidelines!!!! Like come on!!!!     I will NEVER fly Spirit again! The seats were uncomfortable and could not recline. They are made of flimsy thin padding. However, the pictures in the photos are taken in such a way as you do not see the thinness. Seat trays are puny and the cup indent is in the wrong position which makes it even more cumbersome. Seat arm rests are so small it is difficult to even try to use them. Everything is ala carte, piece meal. I bought one can of Sprite for $4.00 during the flight. Cheaper means cheaper! Save your bottom and don't fly Spirit!

    I was charged $70 by Spirit Air for something I didn’t charge. After 2 hours on hold and being transferred 3 times and explaining to them that they had someone else’s name associated with my card, for a charge I didn’t authorize (they mixed up a my information with a coworker). They told me this was not a mistake and I would need to get their personal information DOB and SSN. or they wouldn’t correct the error. Mind you she never had my credit card info nor did I have hers but Spirit claimed it was my error not theirs. I had to file a claim with my credit card company and get a new card.     Was a first time flyer and I choose this airline. Bad decision because they lost some important documents of mines. My birth certificate, marriage certificate and id. Was not able to board the ship. May 28 is my birthday. I cruise with Carnival every birthday. This year I turned 50 and I wanted it to be special. All the planning I did ahead of time. All the long hours I put in at work doing over time to make this birthday special. Just to be crushed be Spirit airlines. They damage my luggage. It's all scuffed up and has a cut in it. That's not what's important though. What's important is that they ruined my special day and made me miss a whole 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and all they offered me was a measly $50 voucher to use on their airline by September 2024.

    Both of my arrival and return flights were canceled and rescheduled for a different day. When I called Customer Service for assistance, the phone "mysteriously" hung up when I asked to speak to a manager...THREE DIFFERENT TIMES/CALLS. I had to pay more to change my hotel days last minute. Got no compensation from Spirit. Absolutely terrible.

    Very bad customer service, incompetent and irresponsible staff, inconsistent policy. I almost think that the entire company is setting people up to rob money. For unknown reason, they checked me in, seats were assigned but couldn’t print boarding passes. They rebooked the flights for the next day with no charge. Then the same thing happened. No compensation for the hotel or transportation or no meal vouchers or apologies. Finally they identified the issue to be the pet (they also blamed the third party where they thought I got the tickets from, but no I purchased the tickets from Spirit, they blamed the IT system, they also had my names messed up, etc). Then they blamed the government for not clearing the pet. What??

    Then they forced me to buy their pet carrier that’s designed to be for a dog or cat for my little lovebird saying that the box that I put him in doesn’t meet their requirements (but it wasn’t even an issue the day before). But it met all the requirements regarding the size, weight and the materials. Called the customer service and they tell me to go and talk to the agent at the airport, the agent at the airport tells me to call the customer service. I think it is intentional. The whole business is done wrong and the staff knows it but blames everything but themselves. It is almost scary that the staff is trained (?) to be this way. Working for an unethical company like this can ruin the staff’s sense of moral and integrity. I would not want to deal with their staff professionally or personally.

I will no longer even attempt to give them a crumb of a chance. Terrible customer service. Untrained unintelligible staff giving inaccurate info. Fly Southwest. Never had the kind of service or unhelpful that Spirit so gladly dished out. All for just trying to use card points and didn't save anything either.

    The worst Airlines ever. They are crooks. I purchased a ticket for my sister to see a cousin who was in hospice. It was short notice and wanted to only see her before she passed. Well, less than 24 hours after I purchased the ticket, she passed. So less than 24 hours after the purchase I called to cancel the flight. I was told that I would need to take my request to a Chatbot and they would decide. Not even a human. I was told by the chatbot I needed to have a death certificate. I explained she died Today, and requesting a death certificate to send to an unknown entity breaks HIPPA laws. The chatbot wanted an obituary. I repeated, she died that day. Anyway, I then asked for a place to send a letter and was told there is no mailing address. Well, after much complaining they finally provided an address in Miramar, Fl. I will send them a letter. They did agreed to give me airline credit for 90 days, of which I said, "No thank you."

    I was booking flight tickets for a specific date and chose the bundle option by mistake. Re-started the order but it automatically took the bundle option and added 700$ to a 220$ trip. Tried to chat with the customer service. After 2 hours of chat they could do nothing. Such a terrible experience. And I'm not flying with them ever again.

    Horrible. May 2024, HORRIBLE. Late. Delayed everyone. Mad hot and not A drop OF rain in sight. No Reason what so ever for everyone to be delayed by 3 HOURS or more. The bag rule and the delays are not even needed. They are lazy and obviously not interested in making their company better. They see it as cheap flights (200.00 one way state to state).     Took a flight out of Houston IAH last night. Paid $49 to check in a bag. When we arrive in Atlanta after midnight our bag is nowhere to be found. Baggage claims tells us it doesn't appear to have ever left Houston. Tells me how to do a claim and that they typically have it to you within 24 hours, which is a relief since we are in town for my daughter's Grad school graduation and the big gathering we have arranged is tonight.

    I call Spirit later as I notice the tracker still shows searching for my baggage and they tell me 3-5 days. We'll be home by then. So, I will not be attending my daughter's party or graduation as everything is in that suitcase for me and my two children and there just wasn't enough time to run around and do the things I came to do for the event and completely reinvent us at the same time. They have ruined a once-in-a-lifetime event and don't even care while I try to show a strong face for my family and fight back the tears. Really need the government to get more involved with these airlines.

    If I could give a negative star rating this airline would get -2. No notice of flight change moving it forward by 3 hours on the day of flight. Return flight was delayed after boarding then cancelled several hours later. No attempt by Spirit to rebook. Had to wait to make arrangements. Next available flight was 5am the next day with no offer of any reimbursement. Finally got a $21 voucher for food and $50 credit on another flight. No offer of help with transportation, extra hotel night….

    Arrived at 3:30 am next day to have 5 am flight delayed to 6am, then 2pm, then 3:30, and finally 4:30pm. Opted to just change airline at my expense and while flying out a bit later that day at least know that I'll get home. Was reimbursed $105 but in the scheme of things a delay of over 24 hours, added costs of hotel stay, transport back and forth to airport, meals and additional flight costs don't come close to the miserly reimbursement by Spirit. So not worth dealing with that company ever again.

It is a very cheap flight but it is so disappointing that it should not even exist, if there’s no guarantee that they will even fly you out due to cancellations and delays. I am a first time flyer with this airline and from Europe. I didn’t do enough research and I regret it.

    Spirit's $50 charge for a carry-on bag is exorbitant. And their online check-in requires responses to way too many add-ons, making it time-consuming and difficult to complete. This cumbersome check-in resulted in me paying $80 for my carry-on.

    I purchased an airline ticket thru Spirit in Oct. 2022 for my daughter to come visit me. I intended the ticket to be a Christmas Gift. Unfortunately, my daughter had a stroke the day before Thanksgiving. I tried to get a refund or a portion back but this greedy company refused to give me any portion of it back. They informed me that I would have a credit to my account with them which expired. No one told me there was an expiration on this credit. I was recently informed that it was expired when I called to try and use the credit. No one mentioned that it would expire. I didn’t know that money expired. I wouldn’t suggest this airline to transport a person that I don’t get along with. Luckily, everything they do here is going to require answers at the pearly gates. Good luck!

    Pretty bad experience. My flights kept getting delayed and delayed. I missed my connecting flight which was terrible. I haven’t had this problem with other airlines. They got be home 2 days late. The ticket itself is cheap but then with all the fees and them making you pay for your bag it’s the same as a Delta ticket. Never flying Spirit again.

    One way, 1:30am flight from Medellin to Ft. Lauderdale. Purchased upgrade because I had a small carry on bag. $364.00. While in line I saw my boarding pass said “no carry on”. Checked with staff, said I must check my carry on, I said what?… Then let check the bag. Told it was too late. Charged me another $118.00 to get on the flight. (When booking flight, only other option was purchase a checked bag and carry on costing over $600.00). The flight was booked. Once on the airplane, the flight attendant said this was a mistake and I would be refunded at the desk in FLL. A lie…. Wrong.

    Worst airline ever! They nickel and dime you on everything. $897 for roundtrip flights LAX to CLT for 3 people - not bad...BUT $543.00 for three seats with extra room on the way back to LAX because we found out how bad seating was on the way to CLT is excessive. NO and I mean NO service on the flight not even water without an outrageous fee! No carry on allowed. Paid for baggage on the way back home 3 suitcases 2 at 42 pounds 1 at 51 total cost $342.00. Not until after it was paid did the Agent say we could have moved stuff into 1 suitcase and only have 1 that was over weight. They allow 40 pounds!

    The only reply they had to my review was we offer low cost fares. Nope, I could have and should have flown a major airline for a total cost of less than $1200.00 and had at least water for no additional cost. Spirit airline was $1782.00. That's not a budget or low cost airline and we had to wait to get off for a drink or pay a small fortune for one on the flight. Terrible, please research before you fly. Buyer be aware of the low fares, it's NOT REAL in the end. I can not even give ZERO stars for this service so I have to select a 1.

    Spirit is designed to scam people. I understood that bags are not included on the original flight pricing/purchase. However, when paying separately for the bags, nowhere does it state you are only paying for bags one way. I paid $100 and had a receipt for the bags but was never notified or directed to pay for bags on the flight back. It asked me once and I assumed my bags were good to go. Then, on the return flight a person is checking bags BEFORE TSA (that's how you know they are intentionally misleading people). She was checking to make sure your ticket had bags. No other airline has this person there before TSA check in. I was told I did not have bags included and was directed to the front desk. I showed her my bag receipt and she told me she doesn't know what that is but my bags are not paid for on this flight in her system.

    She finally looked into it further to see the charge was only for the initial flight and I needed to pay double to add bags for the flight back. I tried to communicate the process I went through to figure out what went wrong, however, she decided to give me the silent treatment until I handed her my card. She would not say a single word to me until then. I've never seen something so childish. I had no choice and paid. Therefore, I paid $300 for bags. Not to mention, the seats are awful. I could have dealt just fine with that if everything else had been smooth.

    We also asked for a glass of water and they said everything is for purchase and that's how they keep the flights cheap. We did not want a full bottle of water so the attendant said "If you don't want to pay, I can give you a glass of ice and you can wait for it to melt." Seemed very mocking to me but I couldn't be sure what his intent was by the comment. Spirit intentionally tries to mislead customers to make their money back on these situations. It's a complete scam and the experience overall was absolutely terrible. I will never fly with Spirit again and will tell everyone I know to avoid them.

    The worst airline I ever seen. I book the ticket one month earlier. On that day of my purchase I wanted to change the date. They charged $125 for changing the flight. When I changed the date, I confirmed the baggage is included but it’s not. I paid another $89 for checked baggage. The Spirit is the worst airline.

In the morning of Thursday April 25 due to a long line, I couldn't make the flight, I had to reschedule the flight for the afternoon at 5:35 PM and once we got on the plane, they took my cousin off for no reason, accusing her of having gone to the bathroom before the plane took off.

    On April 19 I traveled to Puerto Rico. I had a connecting flight from Chicago to Fort Myers, Spirit charged me $99 for my personal item from Chicago to Fort Myers. I made a complaint with Spirit because I was charged, and I was not supposed to be charged for my personal item. I send proof of my bag to spirit and spirit refused to give me a refund. The agent at the Chicago airport did not do her job correctly. I was not charged from Fort Myers to Puerto Rico. Also, on our way back home from Puerto Rico to Chicago I was not charged. Spirit can even check their records and see that I was only charged at the Chicago airport. So why didn't I get charged from Fort Myers to Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico to Chicago then? Clearly shows the agent at the Chicago made a mistake.

    Just returned from Mexico and the connecting flight was delayed for 5 hours. We were given a $14.00 food voucher (cost us an additional $45.00). We received a $50.00 voucher on next booking that needs to be used by July 2024. Upon unpacking, we both discovered our luggage had been ransacked and my Michael Kors clutch and wallet were stolen. I submitted a complaint online and received an email that it could take 30 days for a response. I decided to call Spirit and asked to speak with a supervisor who basically could not offer any assistance and said we would have to wait for Spirit to reply. At this point, I would be extremely hard pressed to recommend Spirit Airline.

    Do yourself a favor and stay away!!! The flight was delayed because some VIP person had entered Vegas and the Vegas airport had not let them fly for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once we got to Vegas another vip person got there and they had to go in circles in the sky until they could land. They won’t even offer you a glass of water and my carry on stayed behind in the airport because they said they would charge 100$ and I had paid for carry on through 3rd party. I asked them to take it to ticketing so my family member could pick it up!!!! Cheap and delayed plus rude staff!!!!

    The most unprofessional crew at the gate. Went to the counter to ask a quick question and was ignored by two agents, even after asking if I could ask them a quick question. Since I was ignored the first time and the lady was ** I proceeded to ask her in Spanish. She did not even lift her head up to acknowledge that I had spoken to her.     Spirit airlines is the worst Airline ever. The seat are so small you feel like you're in a sardine can. We flew from FLL to MSY in very uncomfortable flight. On the return flight from MSY to FLL, they didn't have enough employees working to keep the line moving. By the time we went through security check points we arrived at the gate with the plane still there, but would not let us board, because they said it was too late along with 25 other people standing there with boarding passes in hand. I had to book another flight with another Airline to make it home on time. Cost a lot of money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FLYING SPIRIT AIRLINES EVER.

    Let’s start off by saying this has been the worst experience flying I have EVER had in my past 10 years of flying. For one I booked 2 one way tickets from Fll to ROC, or so I thought. The first $250 was only a “reservation fee” and that I had to pay the difference of $230 to confirm and actually “buy” the ticket. Of course I’m upset about this, but I pay the fee because I was literally at an Airbnb from doing a 7 day cruise with carnival and needed to get back home. I then arrive the next morning at 6am (fyi: flight isn’t until 7:55am) and I run into an issue with my luggage. Apparently the previous $480 that I spent did not include my 2 checked bags. At this point I’m trying to go through the line and pay with Apple Pay at the desk and they inform me they don’t have Apple Pay.

    Now I’m frantically trying to get money out of the atm that has posted that it’s tap to pay and it doesn’t work. I then shove my clothes into 1 suitcase and had to call customer service to pay for the bag over the phone because the option was not available online. After another 25 minutes on the phone everything is finally done. I get into line to give my bag up and go upstairs and in told I can’t load the plane because my luggage was too late.

    I was also told that I would have to pay an additional $99 per person to rebook my flight. I had a complete mental breakdown and nobody cared to help me make something work until I lost my mind and went crazy. Only until then did the boss make the change without the money. Everyone at the front counter were rude and had very disgusting attitudes. I would definitely NEVER recommend Spirit to anyone. PLEASE RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS BOOKING. THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY SCAMMERS!!!!

    The same personal item I have used on Spirit the last few years, including my trip to my brother who was dying in intensive care was suddenly not acceptable. They refused to let me board at gate. Cost $99 so I could get home and let my son know his uncle had passed 12 hours earlier. Employees did not even offer condolences. Have been faithful customers until now. Will never use them again and make sure family members no longer will either.

    It's already a nightmare and haven't even got on the plane. Do NOT. DO NOT prepay for wifi till you know you have wifi on the plane. You need a receipt number and they DON'T send you one. I never got one and you HAVE TO HAVE that to request refunds. Poor customer service. They want you to chat through AI which only helps with some of your issues. This company will be out of business soon with the way they conduct business. I hope a civil lawsuit is filed against this company. In fact if we have enough unsatisfied ripped off customers. There's a lawyer that will take the case!

    This is the worst Airline you can fly with. I had a trip for medical purposes for 2 day and I had to fly back one day earlier. I went to the booth in Burbank Airport and asked for an exchange. They said it cannot be done. I had insurance for this flight and after arguing for hours, since I was in the Airport 5 hours early, I still had to buy a new ticket. I asked for a refund or at least credit for a future trip and I've been told I cannot get one because my original return it was labeled as "NO SHOW". But I showed up earlier and I asked for an exchange, and I bought another return from YOU, same company, how can I be a "NO SHOW"? In the end, they did not do anything to make it right. This is the only Airline I know so far that doesn't allow a carry-on. So many people were upset for this reason and saying as me: I WILL NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE AGAIN, EVER! Sonya ** Conf # **.     People want to slam Spirit so much when it's actually not a bad budget airline. I use it to commute between Florida and NJ (I fly into ACY often) and it's a godsend for this flight itinerary. I download the movies I want to watch ahead of time and ALWAYS have my headphones charged and ready to go and honestly if you do that, it's like flying any other airline BUT it's so much cheaper and no layovers. I've only had one real issue and it was a cancellation of my flight. They gave me a $50 e-credit which I used toward a trip to Vegas and they got me out on the next flight. I was super fortunate that I have a place I can stay for free so it wasn't a major inconvenience for me, I could see it being a major inconvenience for others but they don't cancel flights that often and when everything is going well, it's a great airline.

    This airline sells you an inexpensive ticket and then takes every opportunity to put its hands in your pocket. They charge for seat assignments, luggage, Wi-Fi, and beverages. The only thing they don't charge for is the lavatory. I think soon they'll charge for that too. I had to pay $240 for my luggage to go from Oakland to Las Vegas round trip because it was 6 pounds over the limit. Their staff is rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. The seats in the airplane are smaller than those in all other planes and uncomfortable. There are no pockets for you to place your belongings. The seat doesn't recline, and it's less comfortable than those hard seats at the DMV. Avoid this airline at all costs. In the end, I paid more to travel by this ridiculous airline than by more prestigious ones like Delta.

    We were delayed five times and our flight eventually got cancelled. Rather than making an announcement to all passengers what the options would be, two agents were available to talk to one customer at the time, basically telling us that we can be stuck in Orlando for two days, or take the refund. None of it came with a sincere apology and people were left to their own devices at 11pm on a Wednesday night during spring break week where rebooking anything reasonably priced was out of the question. We ended up having to drive to Detroit (18 hours) and lost two days of vacation time. We will never fly with Spirit again. If we could enter 0/10, we would.

    They cancelled our evening flight after boarding time. The plane was never even at the airport because it never arrived from the previous location, which they knew but didn’t tell us. The board continued to say On Time. This is spring break to Fort Lauderdale, there are no other flights at the airport or surrounding airports. They did refund my ticket, but now I am fighting for my VRBO money back because it was cancelled at the last minute. If they told us earlier in the day I could have had other options, including that I turned down a ride because I thought flying would be easier. Why couldn’t they add a flight the next morning?

    Booked our son a flight on Spirit not so much for low price but for the non-stop option. And of course he finds out when going to check in his flight was cancelled!!!! For “Safety”. No notice, no email, text or call. He got an “oops, so sorry” when he call customer service. Unbelievable. We had to scurry and thankfully got him rebooked on a SW flight, costing $400 more and now waiting for refund from Spirit. Which they balked about giving. Never again will I book a flight on Spirit.     My boyfriend and I flew from Vegas to Detroit this month. We booked our flight, and paid for it all. When we went to go check in for our flight, it said our flight was almost full and to get a seat on the plane (which one 2 seats were left) we had to pay another 49.00 EACH for "VIP" chairs which were middle seats and in rows 12 and 13. We had to get back home, and we bit the bullet and paid for the seats so we knew we got home that night. When I talked to someone in RE: to this, trying to get my money back from the 2 seats that were ALREADY paid for by us, they told me it was their policy and won't be able to refund any money, or they would have to do it for everyone else (that this happens too). This is by far the WORST experience I have ever had and will never fly with Spirit again, and warning people before they can do this to others.

    Flew Spirit for a business trip, and decided to take the family. We packed our daughter's car seat in a durable canvas bag. Flight was uncomfortable. Upon arrival one of suitcases was cracked with a wheel snapped off and our car seat bag and the car seat itself looked like they got in a fight with Freddy Kruger with a bunch of slices including on large deep one that sliced into the car seat and deep into the plastic.

    I dealt with the issue promptly, opening a case within a couple hours, providing receipts and photos all within a matter of a couple day. All these things you have to do while on your trip and in my case without a laptop. Huge pain! In the end, after weeks of going back and forth, they are mailing us a check for a fraction of the cost to replace our car seat and luggage. Honestly, never flying Spirit again. Worst customer service ever. Will actively work to convince others from flying with them. I mean really!? Damaging a kid's car seat and not adequately resolving the issue is freaking low.

    Flew Spirit coming home from a trip with family. The flight was 1 1/2 hrs late. When we got to our layover destination 2 employees told us we would never catch the connecting flight so just get upstairs and rebook. We went to rebook, stood in line 1 hour and the lady told us we should have received a text that automatically puts us on a plane. No texts came through... She looked and found that the next flight was for the next day in the evening, We needed to get back. We have work and school... She said there was nothing she could do but give us our money back or take the flight for the next day.

    They wouldn't even pay for a hotel room for the night. We wound up buying tickets from Southwest and requested our money back from Spirit. $700 we paid extra for this trip that spirit messed up and they only refunded $118 ea for the 3 of us. BTW that text came through 15 min after the connecting flight we were supposed to be on left, saying there would be a 30 delay, so we would have made that flight if their employees hadn't told us to go rebook. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE FLY SPIRIT, THERE IS NO RESPONSIBILITY HERE.

    Never in my life have I had a issue with a airline. Lost my bag and got it back damaged. Now they won't replace the baggage of a 4 set luggage.     I booked Siprit Airline's direct flight from Boston to Houston, round trip (May 8 - May 12), for two people. The original itinerary listed depart time from Boston is 6 am, arrival at Houston at 9:18 am. The flight time is 3 hours and 18 minutes. Then Siprit Airline issued change of schedule. They added 1 connection stop at BWI and the total flight/transition increase from 3 hours to 6 hours. They also changed the returning flight, from 7 pm to 4 pm.

    Then Spirit Airline changed the schedule again on March 20th, less than 60 days before departure date. This time they added 2 connections. The total flight/transition time - from 9:20 am to 23:48 pm, exceeds 14 hours. Spirit Airline's arbitrary change of schedule adversely impacts my travel plan. The way they chose to change the schedule within less than 60 days of departure also prohibits me to get the full refund. Therefore, I demand that Spirit Airline to issue the full refund to me.

    I booked a flight via Priceline for $270. I went to check into my flight the day before and was told to sit with my friend I would need to pay to pick a seat for both of us. I was also told I would need to pay for my baggage. Not a huge surprise on the baggage but the added $400 to my tickets was. Even with the cost what choice do I have. I tried to confirm and pay through the website - got errors. I called, got the run around, tried to confirm through app, failed. Tried to call back got hung up on 3 times after 30-40 minute wait times and foreign call centers. Still trying even now. Going on 4 hours.

    My $270 booking will now cost me roughly $670 and many many hours of my life. I cannot even get anyone on the phone to speak to me. Worst experience I have ever had trying to go on a trip. I refused to ever book American again after different past experiences and had I known Spirit was a subsidiary I never would have booked them either. Life lessons learned the hard way.

    We have attempted to fly Spirit twice. Both times the flights were canceled with zero assistance in finding another flight. The worst customer service and zero regard for consumers. This airline simply cancels flights and will not assist with rescheduling. My son recently had a party of six with tickets to Florida. They canceled their flight then told them they would have seats on the flight the next day.     I was scheduled for a 5 am flight to Fort Lauderdale and then a connecting flight to Aruba. The gate assignment was A18. We sat at gate A18 for 1 1/2 hours before departure. At some point, the departing gate was changed to A17. Due to the horrible audio we didn't hear the announcement for the change. Instead of the attendants calling the names of the 10 people that were missing, she went through the waiting area of gate A17 aging people of the wanted to depart sooner. When we noticed that gate A18 had not boarded by 6:30 am, we approached gate A17 and asked what was going on.

    The rude supervisor advised that it was up to the flight attendants if they wanted call the passenger's name during the boarding process. She avoided speaking to us directly. She walked around the lobby pretending to fix the line dividers, while yelling out her responses. I asked the gate attendant for his name and the supervisor name, he provided his name but asked her if he could provide her name. Her name badge was purposely flipped over. Once again she yelled across the lobby stating I could ask her for her name myself. She continued to walk around as if she was working.

    One agent told us that our luggage didn't make the flight because we didn't make the flight. That was incorrect information. Our bags made the flight on February 18th, here it is February 22nd and still no luggage. Honestly, the attitudes of the works align with the service and environment of SPIRIT. Calling the airline customer service was just as bad. They do not accept accountability for anything that went on. While waiting on my flight I had the honor of observing 4 passengers encounter servers different rude gate attendants at gate A18. If you are a traveler that is okay with paying for horrible service as long as you get to where you're going, then you may be okay with Spirit. On the other hand, if you expect decent service for your hard-earned dollar, go with a different airline. Save yourself the headache.

    I found Spirit to be a pretty good budget airline. I flew them frequently, and they were usually my first choice if airline. However, I had to cancel a flight one week before departure. They kept ALL my money for the flight. Other airlines issue a credit to use on future flights...not Spirit. (Read the small print) Since that happened I haven't booked a flight with them, and probably won't going forward. Their loss. Providing a credit would have been the right thing to do.

    I booked 2 flights last minute due to an issue with another airline and I needed to get somewhere. Within 5 minutes of booking, my original airline notified us that they had another plane ready for us. I called Spirit immediately to cancel and was issued only a credit for a future flight.....fine....was told use within 2yrs. I found that the voucher expired after only 90 days! I called to get it corrected and they wouldn't budge. Spoke with a supervisor, Chris, and he instantly told me no problem, he could make an exception and I'd get an email within 7 days with the credit. Email never came.

    I called back, spoke to same supervisor, and he said he made a mistake and couldn't make an exception. I had waited 9 days expecting the credit only to find the trip that I wanted to book was now $100 more. He would not budge. Unreal... even after promising that I'd be all set on my 1st call. I will never ever fly Spirit again and have told about 20 friends already about this experience.

    Today 3/6/24 I departure from Cancun to DFW. Fly 344 and from DFW to Las Vegas fly 2701. When I got home inside my luggage one of the side was unzipped. My wife jewelry was all over. One of my belts was missing, I normally put my shoes on bags, even some of my shoes were removed from the bags. My luggage was search like they were looking for something. I don't really know where it happened if happened in Cancun or in Texas but still I trusted Spirit. I'm extremely disappointed and upset, the airline only care for their earnings, not for the customers.

    I am leaving on a flight through your airline next Friday March 15th. My times have changed going down and back up and not a little. They have been very different. I have no choice but to use these tickets but you have messed up my trip. I am now losing half a day of vacation. Not return home till the day after when I was originally supposed to return. Not even sure if I have a ride home at 1 am the next day. This is so infuriating I want to scream. I am so very disappointed in this airline and will never return to it again after this curse.

    Now I have a 7 hr 46 min layover in Atlanta and will not arrive in Miami until 8:30 pm. On the way home my nice easy direct and home by 8:19 pm to get home with enough time to sleep and decompress on Sunday before back to work Monday is now all messed up. I do not even get on the plane until 9:55 pm and arrive at 1:07 am the next day. Customer Service Response: "Resolving your request is our top priority, however, due to extenuating circumstances, email response times are longer than normal on Spirit.com/help and some tickets could take 30-60 days to process and complete.     Had a round trip flight to Philly from LAX. Flight scheduled to leave at 11:06am. Got to the gate at LAX at 10:48am. Doors were closed and missed my flight. Got another flight on American same day at same day rate prices. Fast forward, it’s time to leave and I attempt to check-in in the Spirit App and my reservation was no longer there. Called them up and turns out if you miss the first flight the system will automatically cancel your return flight after 32 hours if you do not speak with a representative. The first Spirit associate over the phone couldn’t help me to reopen the reservation. I kindly asked him to transfer me to a supervisor. Spoke to the supervisor and he stated their policy, but I remained kindly persistent and encouraged him to see what he can do. He offered me a solution and said he would call me back in 15 minutes to an hour. An hour later he called me back and expressed that my reservation has been reinstated. I graciously thanked him and now I’m waiting at the gate for my flight. #twocents

    I'm hoping that by providing names and descriptions of employees can help the airline identify the issue and take the necessary steps and actions to address the level of training that is needed for this problem. I am hoping that this person can learn from this situation. Debbie ** who worked at the Spirit Airlines check in on 2/26/24 around 1:30 PM at the Las Vegas airport, brown and blonde hair, with a cream colored scrunchie, was beyond rude and disrespectful to customers in need. A nice girl wanted to check her bag before her 5:30 PM flight and was told she could not, and that it was too early and she could not hang out at her gate. Debbie told the girl she can “go stalk people at other places” but could “not go to her gate more than 3 hrs early.” She said the system would not let her through that early. She was told she could not lounge around the airlines check in and had to go to the lounge “upstairs” instead.

    She told people they could not weigh their bags or approach the check in if they were 3 or more hours early for their flight. She told people they could “try to get past the rules” if they wanted. She ignored my family's request for help at the kiosk and told us “it was not a part of her job that day”. She said she does not work the kiosks, as this was “not her job” and we’d have to find someone else for assistance.

    After speaking with a different Spirit Airlines assistant, who was pleasant, respectful and very helpful, let us know people can go to their gates if they are 3 or more hours early. There’s nothing in their policies and procedures that state otherwise. People can also weigh their bags to make sure they fall under the required weight if they are early. Our problem was eventually resolved with the new airline assistant and we were able to make our flight on time.

    I booked my flight through Spirit Airlines app. I realised after booking that it booked me double instead of booking me once and my son as the other person. I kept calling the customer service the whole evening and night since the flight was for 6am. No reply on chat and phone call. We arrived early at the airport to resolve the issue in time, stood in the line for an hour but the lady at the spirit airlines refused to help and gave us the same customer service number I kept calling all this time with no response. She was rude and rather than listening to us started calling people who were next in line. We went to tsa hoping we will talk at the gate with another spirit airline representative. Tsa didn’t let us in and told us the representative at the spirit airlines should be able to resolve this.

    We came back to the check in booths, begged another lady. She refused us too and upon asking if she can call supervisor, she said there is no supervisor. There was another representative guiding people for luggage check in, I went to her almost crying. She said she can help. She fixed the issue and we were able to come home together. This is very disappointing and frustrating that not all representatives are willing to help customers. They were rude and made me cry. Pathetic customer care.

This website led me accidentally canceled my itinerary after I paid my tickets, seats and luggage checked in. I quickly tried to find their representative to solve the issue and could not hold any their representative. Only some texted message to ask me to rebook flights from their website.     Spirit airline sent me an email saying. My spirit saver club renewal was going to be automatically taken from my account. $$ And I could cancel if I go online as part of (their email). I tried. After contacting spirit customer service. I was told. "No, you cannot automatically cancel your spirit savers online." And you can only do it through their customer service even though their email states otherwise. Then if you ask to talk to a supervisor about this issue, they put you on hold and won't pickup. The plane wasn’t clean and the staff was rude. Ruined my birthday trip. I will never fly Spirit Airlines again.     Spirit is the worse airline to book tickets with. If you try to cancel within 24 hours for a full refund. They’ll let you sit purposely on hold until it goes over the 24 hours. They’ll claim you weren’t within the 24 hours. Then when you request a manager they tell you that you’re also less than 7 days away from the flight. So which is it 24 hours or 7 days from the flight? Nobody was helpful and they don’t care at all. I will never fly with spirit ever again.

    Spirit does not care about their customers. No customer service, no people skills. I was forced to pay twice for my bags. I showed them receipt of my bundle purchase when I bought my tickets. Their response was that is not what my system shows. You can either pay or you can't board. UNBELIEVABLE. They said you have the receipt call and get a refund

    When I came back I called Spirit. Email. No solution to my refund like they said at the spirit desk. Call and get your money back. It is a nightmare getting through. After calling many times you get someone on the phone, the transfer you to different customer service areas, and you have to explain yourself over and over again why you are calling for, because apparently they do not communicate or write notes when they transfer you.

    Finally a customer service answer after 6 months calling them, gave me all kind of excuses. First they said I had a second luggage? Really where is the 2nd bag? I only had 1. Then they said my bag was overweight? Really and they never mentioned it to me in six months all of the sudden the charge was for overweight bag? My bag was not overweight. To make this story short. I was told SPIRIT DOES NOT MAKE REFUNDS, OR CREDIT ANYONE after 6 months waiting for an answer. This is what I was told today. File a complaint with the FAA. That was the only option given to me.

    I hope this review is helpful and without too much disdain. Making a reservation was simple and easy (the hook). Once you get further into the site, you realize there are upcharges for baggage (no free carry-on items or checked bags). Ok, given the cost of the ticket, fine. Then, your seat. Now the flight is starting to add up to more than other airlines. The stinger? Spirit Air changed my reservations (to and from). Instead of direct flights I was now on layover flights. Worse still, they put me on an evening flight (day prior) with the second flight the day following. Whose paying for the hotel? Not Spirit. When I went to change the flight, charges for seats were once again requested. If this doesn't appear to be scamming, I really don't know what is. Top it off, you can't get a live agent to save your life. Worst service I've every had in my life for anything. I can't express how upset I am at this airline. Stay clear of them or fair warning.

    The first week in February, I bought a roundtrip non-stop ticket for the first week in May, from Boston to Las Vegas, for an incredible deal of $124. Less than five days after booking, they changed the flight from nonstop to a ridiculous amount of time on a plane with a stopover that ended up getting to Vegas at 11 PM at night instead of 11 AM - which pretty much screwed me out of a whole day of already planned activities with my nieces and nephews. I only had these four days to see my family, so that was completely unacceptable.

    What did they offer me? A freakin credit. This airline has no other flights available that work in the timeframe of my trip. My itinerary was carefully selected to coincide with an already paid-for shuttle to and from the airport AND a rental car. This was nothing but a huge MONEY GRAB by Spirit Airlines. Never again. Expensive lesson learned! (And yes, I realize it's only $124, but it cost me over $500 to book an equivalent flight for the same dates!)

    I flew Spirit for the 2nd and very last time. Once again from FLL to STT. I flew 7 years ago and again last month. I've flown 34 airlines in 30 countries over the past 20 years. Spirit is unequivocally the worst of the worst. Not even a close 2nd. Agents are rude, Flight attendants are rude. No help available online, planes suck, seats suck, my $100 upgrade didn't even get a drink of water if you can believe that! "Premium" seats don't recline.     I had the worst experience of my life with Spirit Airlines. I booked though Booking.com and I had one way one with child in lap. I was told to check in on line but about time I got there they said I had to check in at the airport which I never was told to do so and never heard nothing like that. I pray the Bureau of Investigation catch on to how these airlines making money and pockets it as well. They cut off an hr early and call you a no show and lies to the third parties as well saying a no show when in fact you were there.

    Spirit is the lowest budget airline and that is the experience you should expect. They are understaffed and the employees they do have are inefficient, uneducated, incompetent and have a power trip attitude. It’s the perfect storm for non-stop issues and the worst customer service experience stories you’ll ever hear. I never ended up flying them because the first time I tried it was such a horrible experience that when they offered to rebook me on one of their flights the next day or to get a refund, I jumped at the refund and booked a Southwest ticket where I’m A-list and they know how to do their job. I’ll never book another Spirit flight again. I have it the old college try and can officially say they are a terrible airline.

    Flight was ok but the huge issue has been the fact that they destroyed my son’s stroller during the flight in their storage. I have filed a complaint (claim) right away after we landed and up to now nobody from the claim dpt has Contacted us back (after we have been told 24 hours), When I call customer services the supervisor (I spoke with 2 of them) they say there is nothing they can do, I can’t speak to anyone above them and the claim dpt communicate just through a chat where nobody is log in and we don’t know If we ever get a response and no guarantee Of a reimbursement of a $750 + stroller. On the meantime I have my 3y.o. Child walking for miles in a 10 degrees weather or me breaking my back in order to Carry him. We can’t afford to Pay for an Uber for all the times we move around. Absolutely disgusted by their service.

    They bill themselves as a cheap low cost airline, however, they charge you for everything. Including carry-on, you talk about uneducated, ignorant low class, no class, ghetto, no job, living off society customers then this is exactly the place for you. I have never flown this airline, and believe me, I never will again.

    Simple. I booked taking advantage of the reasonable prices. Their computer/ software added $260 worth of luggage on top of the combo package which included a checked bag. Simple, honest mistake on their part. I ask customer service for a refund. "SORRY, OUR POLICY IS WE DON'T GIVE REFUNDS!" What if it is your, Spirit's mistake? I would never order 4 checked bags for my daughter who only owns 1 suitcase! DOESN'T MATTER. "ALL YOU GET IS A CREDIT AND IT HAS TO BE USED IN 90 DAYS then you can apply for the last extension of 90 days. After 180 days those funds become ours." BOTTOM LINE YOU CAN NOT TRUST THEIR BOOKING SOFTWARE! I AM FURIOUS AND OUT $260 which I can not afford to lose! I am not a rich man or a frequent flyer so the credit will be lost! THIS MUST BE ILLEGAL BUT THEY SAY, "THIS IS OUR POLICY. IT CAN'T BE CHANGED."

    I have had so many issues with Spirit Airlines and yet I always give another chance, I walked up to the counter not realizing I was at the wrong gate and the associate said to me "LET ME STOP YOU BEFORE YOU TALK, GO TO YOUR OWN GATE." I mean customer service goes a long way, and the associates I've encountered need to go to walmart's customer service training! Constantly let down by this airline and in trying times the day my family is going through something serious we get absolutely zero human decency! I hate what the world has become and the way the people have gotten so selfish! Meanwhile these two women are just lounging on the counter! They could have answered my question! Give me a job with this company and quickly the right changes would be made! ** Where have all the good people gone!

They have stated in writing that if they decide to stop servicing an airport (state), that what they would like for you to do is to drive to another state (11 hours in our case) and then use your points to fly from there. But no compensation will be given, and you cannot use the points with any of the affiliated partners.

    My chair was sold 30 minutes before departure time. I arrived to my gate an hour before departure time. There was not enough chairs around the gate so I had to sit with kids in the gate next to mine. I was busy with kids as I had to take the to washroom. I did not hear their call. When I arrived 30 minutes before departure time, I was told that they sold my chair!!! I asked, "Why you did not call our names?" But the service said they do not need to do so.. They just sold it!! They were rude, unprofessional employee. The worst is that next flight is not earlier than couple days after that. Imagine kids' schools and my retuning back to work. All this has to be delayed. Keep in mind before you book with Spirit that you need to be alerted as they can easily sell your chair.

    #1 CLE to LAX – Spirit lost our check-in suitcase! My brother and I called Spirit customer service the next day and were hung up on 3 times. Then finally told us the luggage was found at LAX Airport. So we spent 5 hours driving in holiday traffic that night to get it.

    #2 CLE to LAX – I was not charged for my 8-year-old daughter’s little carry-on suitcase so I thought it was small enough to be considered a personal item.

    #3 LAX to CLE – Gate wanted to charge me $100 for my daughter’s suitcase. I complained about the lost luggage from CLE to LAX…and how miserable we were the first 2 days of our trip… Their response was aggressively grabbing my 2 boarding passes and removed us from the flight. At the gate, the 3 young male punks were laughing when my daughter cried herself to sleep on the chair.

    #4 LAX to CLE – Spirit sold our 2 seats to someone else and didn’t credit us $650 for the one way back home. Spirit said we were NO SHOW from LAX to CLE even though they checked us in and sent our check-in luggage to Cleveland. So we had to go without clothes again! This time for 2 more days!

    #5 LAX TO CLE – I paid $1,000 for 2 one way tickets back to CLE with AMERICAN AIRLINES. Spirit never credited me half of my roundtrip tickets which I paid $1300 for.

    #6 So I ended up spending $2300 dollars for 2 R/T tickets…. More than what United and AA would have charged…

    Last Resort, last phone call I Spoke to manager customer service and he said to file a complaint on website… Just another case claim # in which will be deleted like many others… no refund.. no credits. Nothing but misery…. **

    Do not pre-pay your bags. This airline will steal your hard-working money & charge you 2 times for the same bag. This airline is a joke!!! I will never fly with them again. Dominick from guest relations feeds you the same line of why they stole your money.     I'm going to start off with if I could I could leave negative stars I would. I booked our flight 4 Months in advance for a departure time of 11:30am, not even a week later they changed it to departure time of 7:30pm. Super inconvenient to change months in advance. I would've booked a different flight if I wanted to fly out at night... I got over that till the day of our flight that morning they delayed our flight by another 2 hours!!! Then without notification they changed it back!! We got to the airport and there were over a hundred people in line because of a "spam" and canceled flights that were not canceled - (not my flight) but seeing the way the agents (the people who accept the bags and check in people) were handling the situation makes me never want to fly with them. Not to mention they have a 40 pound bag limit (when every other flight I have been on is 50lbs).

    They charge an absurd amout for a 50 pound bag ($33 bag + $79 (over bag weight) = $112 for ONE bag) that would be FREE on another flight. They also charge for a carry on ($45). Once you add all the baggage fees up you're paying more than a plane ticket! Now onto the waiting process, watching the ladies who help load the plane on FaceTime and on their phones is very unprofessional. And I could go into the attitudes that they had when dealing with their guest.

    Getting on the plane, there is absolutely ZERO leg room! I am 5 foot 2 inches and my knees were on the seat of the person in front of me, and I had my infant on my lap there was no room to move. I also get sick on planes and have everything set up if things get rough, there was ZERO sick bags! Thank goodness I had my own trash bag. The seats are very uncomfortable. And this Airline does absolutely ZERO for Veterans!!! NEVER again will I fly Spirit! I fly frequently and wanted to give them a try because the tickets were cheaper but I've learned my lesson!

    To keep the cost of your travel with Spirit Airlines as low here is my recommendation: as a female make sure carry your underwear in your handbag and as male DO NOT take any underwear with you. Underwears are not considered as PERSONAL item. You may end up paying a lot more than you expected for carrying underwear in carry on.

    From the moment we checked our bag in at Phoenix sky harbor the employees had an attitude. Were rude. We purchased one check-in bag. We were over by 3 pounds and we’re charged $125 on top of the $60 we had already spent to check a bag. We had multiple issues on our flight with the flight attendants who were rude, gave us eye rolls and acted like we were an inconvenience. I bought Internet on my flight from Phoenix to Dallas and not one single time would it load. It was a waste of 1299+ tax because I could not even connect to your Wi-Fi.

    Then today we were flying out of DFW back to Phoenix sky Harbor. We got to the baggage counter to check our two bags. At this point because I didn’t want to be double charged for being a pound or two over so I bought a suitcase in Dallas, and paid for an additional suitcase. I went over to the kiosk to weigh my baggage. The first woman who helped me was extremely rude. Told me I couldn’t take anything out of my bag. I needed to go around the corner and do that there. All I was trying to do was remove my jacket. Then I took it up to the counter and they told me I was going to be charged $25 per person to have them put a label on my bag which did not happen in Arizona.

    Spirit is by far the worst airline I have ever flown on. I will never ever refer you to anybody I know and anybody I know that’s thinking about purchasing a ticket from you, I will let them know all the headaches and the treatment I got from every single staff member you had with the exception of one gentleman who was loading the plane. I am so disappointed and I am a frequent flyer with multiple airlines, and I have never in my life experience such rude, hostile employees. Astronomical additional fees as well as being charged if I wanted an employee to help me put the stickers on my bag so you could put them on the conveyor belt for my checked bags. Honestly with the way that your employees treat people I’m surprised you’re still in business.

    Unbelievable Spirit Airlines have special bathroom for the crew member only in the front of the airplane and 182 passengers only allowed to use the 2 in the back. If you seat in row 1 then you need to walk 30 more row to get to the bathroom and by the time is going to be occupated

    I spent years defending Spirit. I’m done doing that. I had a backpack that was 2 inches too wide for the personal slot. I took my jacket out and it fit.     12/15 Arrived early and was in line 15+ minutes before the others still in front of me said go in front of them for my boarding pass. The rude employee ** woman would not help me. Said that I had to go use the machine that I was having difficulty with. Then I was 1 minute late =45 minute minimum for check in to get my boarding pass.     Our return flight home was the worst flight I have ever experienced from start to finish. We arrived at the airport 2 and a 1/2 hours ahead of time only to find the check in line was clear out the door and down the sidewalk and barely moving. We knew that if we waited in that line we would miss our flight. We started asking agents and finally they pulled everyone from our flight to get an expedited check in. We got checked in and rushed to our gate only to be told there was no crew and to just wait. There were minimal updates and no time frame was given on how delayed we would be. About two hours later our flight finally left. We arrived in Columbus, Ohio. Went down to get our checked bags only to find 1 out of the 3 was missing. Of course there was no one working in the Spirit baggage claim office so we had to wait in line at the ticket counter to talk to someone.

    Finally talked to a girl who pretty much just laughed and said good luck like this happens all the time and bags rarely get found/returned. After all that she proceeded to tell me that the bag never left Fort Lauderdale and they would get it out on the next flight which was about 12 hours later and would have it delivered to our house, well needless to say that still hasn't happened. I have called, chatted with and emailed only to be told that no one is able to help with this and there are no updates as to where the bag is. Yet somehow the original agent knew it was still in fort lauderdale and it would get out on the next flight. I now don't believe anything she told me. I have to wait a couple more days for my bag to be considered "lost". I'm guessing they aren't going to find it at this point. And it's probably wishful thinking that they are going to reimburse me for everything that was in it. Never again on spirit airlines.

    I would pay double to fly a different airline. Spirit significantly changed our flight in Feb just 2 weeks after it was booked. The notification said to use "chat" to change flights. Went to Chat, while I waited over 20 minutes for a person I tried to change online from their website....while looking at my email with flight info and confirmation code got a message (multiple times) that my code/name was an invalid combination. Chat finally answers, can find my reservation. 20 minutes of searching they find it after asking a bunch of questions. Meanwhile I google find a phone number and called....they couldn't find my reservation.

    Chat person...an hour + has gone by at this point is "changing my flight" next message..."This is Francine how can I help..." What the actual?? New person...started over...you guessed it couldn't find my reservation. We are at the 2 hour mark and I finally get an email (while on chat) that she did indeed change my flight. Same confirmation code...I check online (Spirit's website) and still can find my reservation. She tells me she is checking into what the issue could be....2.5 hours later, it's been a few minutes, I ask are you still there...I get the message, "You are in queue for a person." I think (if I can find a real person who can find my reservation) I will cancel.

    Spirits airlines has one of the worst customers service in the airline’s industry. I don’t know if they will get any better with the Jetblue merge. You will have to fire and retrain all Spirit airline’s employees to be more human. Word of advice to others thinking to use this airline. STAY FAR AWAY and avoid using them if you can. This company is nothing but a scam artist. They worked the systems to charge us more money. They don’t care about customer service or company reputations.

    I’ve used them in the past. Never had issues. I did my research and was careful to follow every single rules they can think up to not be charge extra. I had booked a flight from Portland to Vegas. I got my confirmation number from the website and thought nothing of it. When I checked my email for a confirmation receipt upon booking and checked repeatedly for 2 days and I saw no emails or communication on my booking for. I checked my Spirit account but I still see the booking confirmation number so I thought to give it time to process. Then all of a sudden on day 3 I got an email that told me to call their 1-800# to discuss my flight itinerary, there was a payment problem and they had a problem with my itinerary and if I want to keep my itinerary I must call to give them payment and confirm ever.

    Before calling, I checked my bank account and I didn’t see anything that indicated the booking went through, no charges was made to the account. So I called the 1-800 but I was already waiting 60-65 minute in queue to talk to a live agent, so I did the chat option. I had them check the booking and ask if my flight booking went through and the agent said no, the booking did not, problem with payment. So I said okay, I’ll just rebook from the website because I wasn’t sure if they charge for having them help me rebook with the same card and please to make sure on their end they didn’t charge me anything for this booing. He confirmed the itinerary was canceled and nothing was charged. He even gave me $20 vouchers for “inconvenience & being patient.”

    So I rebooked on the same card and everything booked as normal. Two weeks later I see 2 charges for $78.50 (total $157) from Spirt. I called and ask why Spirit double charged me and they said I canceled my first flight. I told them it never went through the system properly, their agent told me the system didn’t book anything so why am I charged twice. Short version is Spirit airline agent scammed me of $78.50. They said my booking didn’t go through so I rebooked. They then charge me for my first booking and second booking.

    They had even printed the wrong boarding time on my flight ticket. I was there 1 hr early at the airport and the kiosk didn’t print my gate# or assign seat on the ticket. I went to the front counter to ask and was told by the counter agent they already boarded people and I was not going to make it. I ask what am I to do and if they can put me on the next flight, but the agent said he can’t do anything but I can try to see if the TSA and Spirit gate agent can let me through the gate. I ran through TSA and to the gate and got there in time. 15 other people was also just coming to the counter, they too said the boarding time said 6am, so why did Spirt was about to leave and close the doors at 5:10am? It doesn’t make sense. Were they trying to strand 16 people at the gate to make more money? It wasn’t even a full red eye flight!

    This is a bad company and the employee harassing attitude to customers bags overall is over the top. I always give my dad a tiny fanny pack for his insulin and meds because airlines twice lost his bags. It was life of death medicine. It doesn’t take any space, remains flat attached to his chest with his coat. They made him take it off and pay extra for it. I just wish someone, a great lawyer would sue this company for the little guys. We work hard for our money and want a little vacation. We didn’t do any wrong, We’re not criminals so why treat us like one. We don’t need to go through this headache and drama from this company!

    Besides one day of luggage delay with diabetic medications, cold weather clothing in it for our kids and grand parents that forced us to buy more clothing, we had extra weight that was expensive, on top of it, our flight was delay for 5 hours.     We were going on a Christmas trip from Indianapolis to Las Vegas, Nevada which is usually a three to four hour flight depending and we got delayed which was a big deal but they just kept doing us at this point. It was 4:00 in the morning. They just canceled the flight and told us that it would be rescheduled for tomorrow. But we live quite far away from Indianapolis so we had to rent a hotel which was not paid for by them. After that when we came back the next day we got on the plane and sat there for 9 straight hours and they didn't give us food, drinks or snacks. When they finally came around and gave us drinks and snacks, all they gave us was two crackers and water.

    When we got off the plane they were supposed to give us all of our money back and we had a lawyer asked for our information because it is technically illegal to hold people against their will on a plane for that long and they would not let us off even though we are on ground and they did not give us all of our money back let alone we still had to pay for her hotels that we had booked.

    My trip to Ohio was a nightmare. Spirit Airlines would not acknowledge my sister's VERIFIED military active duty status. They charged us over $200 in checked bag fees (should have been free for military). Customer service over the phone was not helpful, rude and told us she couldn’t do anything about it. When we paid the baggage fee prior to our return flight the app did not update it and we were almost charged again at the gate. It has been a nightmare. DO NOT Fly SPIRIT. Flight attendants on first flight (Orlando) not so friendly. Pittsburg staff much better, friendlier and helpful.

    My daughter had a round trip ticket from Reno to Ohio. Her flight from Reno they double charged us for her baggage. Tried to speak with them in person at the airport. No help. They told us to call customer service. After three phone calls and over three hours later they told me because she changed planes they charged twice for her bag. But returning from Ohio to Reno and switching flights they didn’t double charge us. I made the round trip reservation at one time. Makes no sense. Cost $310 for one bag. Horrible airline. They gave ZERO compensation for the extra day, hotel, meals, and rides to the airport that I had to have because of THEIR mistake.     Rented a car through Spirit Air. When I got to my destination the car rental company informed me that the Spirit Air charge does not apply and they would have to charge me the full amount. I decided to cancel the car rental. When I got back home a week later I contacted Spirit Air to request a refund since I cancelled the car rental. Spirit Air refused to give me the refund stating that charge is non refundable even though I cancelled the car rental. I think this is a rip off and I would never use Spirit Air for any future travel. Beware. Do not book car or hotel through Spirit Air. Book directly. Lesson learned.

    They charge you for every little thing under the show. If you book 3 tickets together you can plan on not seating with your friends or family unless you pay for a seat (extra $$). If you bring a carry on more than just a back pack (extra money). Talk about the nickel and dime you to death. I mean what the heck are you paying for. Worst flight ever. Save the money and run to anyone else. The low cost of the flight is not going save the nightmare later.

    I recently visited my hometown, California. I had flown out from Utah without any issues with my carry-on backpack. However, when I was preparing to return from LAX, an employee pulled me out of the line and demanded to inspect my bag. They claimed that it did not meet the overhead requirements despite it being the same bag I had flown in with and containing the same amount of stuff. They insisted I pay $99 and were quite aggressive about it, which was embarrassing. I am on a tight budget and was not prepared to pay this amount. I felt Spirit Airlines was not a good fit for me, and I would not fly with them again.     I was on hold for roughly 2 hours and got hung up on. Went to online chat. The response was to wait 3:50 minutes. After 6 hours I went to bed. I was trying to change my luggage weight. So, when I got to the airport, I had to pay another $74. It made the total cost of my bag $168. Its weight was 58 lbs. On the way back, we bought a small bag because the big bag was overweight. We put everything we could in the little bag and it was heavy. Get to the airport and check in. They said the bag was 50lbs. That big bag came back with a huge rip on the back. It was brand new, when we left DIA.

    When we were coming back to Denver from LAS. I asked for a wheelchair. It never showed up. When we arrive in Denver the Stewardess asked for a wheelchair. Guess what. They never showed. Oh, and I dropped my bag of jewelry on the plane to LAS and I have not heard back from Lost and Found. I am devastated, my deceased mother gave me one of the bracelets. Yeah, I'm not happy and I will not be surprised if I don't hear from Spirit. The Stewardess were awesome.

    Yes, it's a low-cost airline, but they use their sleight of hand sales techniques to rope you in with super cheap initial prices. Then the big reveal happens ... nickel and diming you to death for everything else after that. Do you actually want a seat? That will be extra. Do you have carry-on luggage? That too will cost you. Hey want a simple bottle of water or soda while in flight? Not unless you pay for it.

    I checked my bag (for a fee of $39) to save money versus actually doing a carry-on for an extra $43 on top of the $39. Of course, there is no way I can prove it, but they must have run over with one of their trucks or forklifts. Or possibly they dropped my bag from a high place. All I know is, that my laptop keyboard is no longer functional. Conclusion: No mas flying with Spirit Airlines!

    Spirit Airlines hires cheap labor with language barrier. They double book passengers and can dump you as they want. Then you have to pay for another ticket to get on another flight if available on the same day!!! When asked for the manager she notes a bunch of lies on your account to make sure you do not get your refund! It’s a very bad airline and company!!! Watch out!!! I would not even give it one star if I had a choice here!

    I had two seats booked and paid an extra fee for them to be together, my wife fell ill and couldn't make the flight. Spirit sold her seat to another person collecting two fares for the same seat and refused to give me a refund. They always changed the flight time from 6:45am to 6am with no notification nearly causing me to miss the flight and on top of that they lose my luggage.

    Very rude people at the customer service. They are trained to do everything to make you pay extra fees for everything. The fright was delayed for 1 hr 20 mnts, I was sitting in coffee shop in airport. Spirit got everyone in earlier and closed the door earlier. When I came to the gate, they told me that they just closed the gate. I won’t be able to get in. I went to customer service desk to get another flight, they wanted me to pay $99 fee. After I opened Spirit app on my phone I saw that departure time was changed 10 mnt earlier. This is no good spirit. No good!

    I am deeply dismayed by my experience with this airline, which left me feeling like a victim of racism. This airline is by far the worst I've encountered, where you have to pay for everything, and the service is abysmal. I had a cabin trolley bag and a laptop bag, both weighing under 7 kgs. When I opted for a preferred seat with extra leg space at the baggage drop, they charged me for the seat but conveniently failed to inform me about the additional baggage fees.

    To my shock, during boarding, I was singled out and forced to pay an additional $99 for my bags. When I tried to explain my situation, they callously threatened to bump me to a flight 25 hours later. This ordeal took place at the Phoenix Arizona airport, and the staff's behavior was not only unprofessional but also offensive. They made it clear that they were judging me based on my skin color and held me solely responsible for my situation.

    I've endured countless unnecessary security checks and frisks at various U.S. airports as an ** traveler, even when my fellow passengers were never subjected to the same treatment. However, this experience was the last straw, especially considering the significant amount of money I had spent. I deeply regret ever placing my trust in this airline. They nickel and dime you for everything, from food and water to seats and baggage, including cabin luggage. To make matters worse, none of their seats even recline on longer flights.

    I arrived over an hour early to my flight, which was delayed twice. Because of the delay, the system for checking in was not updated with the correct flight time, and check-in was impossible for several passengers, regardless if we had tickets or not. The employees at check-in were not willing to try anything to get the system to accept our tickets, and said "looks like you're a no-show. you'll have to book another flight". (This was two hours before the flight took off). I spoke with the supervisor, who seemed bothered to have to walk away from her desk at all; and she said they would not do a refund or credit for a system failure. Her words were "App errors are user errors, and you're the user"....

    I needed to get to my destination, so I booked another flight with a different airline and went to call their customer service line, hoping to get refunded for the $389 ticket they refused to accept. The customer service workers picked up and hung up the phone on two different occasions, without a word exchanged (high call volume, maybe?). When one did pick up the phone, it was after I was on hold for over two hours, both on the phone and online. (Online never actually answered). The agent was on the call for 30 seconds before saying "we don't do refunds for no shows", without hearing what happened. I requested to speak to someone who was willing to listen to my case; I never met such a person at Spirit. Conclusion: Fly with a different airline.

    Spirit changed our reservation without our permission, we need to pay one thousand dollars extra to find ticket back to Boston, plus we have to wait 10 hours at the airport for the flight. Spirit Airlines is the worst and irresponsible airline, Ignore them completely.

    The airline change your flight to whatever hours they want for you to flight that day. If you message them it will take you up to 3 hours from start to finish. No free upgrades or free bags for charging our flights on us. So don’t bother trying to get something free due to their change of your regular flight. Besides all that I even got a Spirit credit card to fly and a Spirit member and not even like that you don’t get any free upgrades due to their changes.

    When I booked my flight with Spirit I was given the opportunity to bid on a "Big Front Seat" for both segments of my flight. They don't let you know if you get it until you get your boarding pass at the airport. On the day of departure I did get a "Big Front Seat" on my boarding pass. The day before my return flight I was texted and asked if I wanted to buy an "Exit Row Seat". This made me assume that I did not get the "Big Front Seat" for the return flight. So naturally I bought an "Exit Row Seat" for $17.00. When I got my boarding pass I was surprised to actually have a "Big Front Seat" #2A for my return flight. I called them and asked for a refund for the Exit Row Seat and they said they couldn't do it. I explained this quite clearly and for some reason they say it can't be done. So why did Spirit text me with the Exit Row Seat offer when they clearly should have known I would be getting the Big Front Seat? This was a clear case of deceptive marketing.

    Worst experience regarding luggage charges, 3.5 lb overweight on already paid $59 in addition to the ticket is an additional $79 based a chat with the agent before even getting to the airport. Next time I will choose not to fly that fly Spirit.

    I get the ultra low cost airline business model: rope you in with super cheap initial prices then nickel and dime you for everything after that. Sometimes I'll pay the extra for a long long fight (seat selection) or extended trip (baggage fees) but on a 1.5 hour flight for 2 days in Vegas I need neither, so figured I was safe from the money grab (I was wrong). Schedule changes are not uncommon, especially with these operations, so I wasn't surprised when I received an email asking me to accept an itinerary change. The notice indicated my flight changed from 6PM on an Monday to 10:40 PM Tuesday arriving after midnight Wednesday. I called to make sure the Tuesday was actually the new departure day and not the arrival day. Sure enough, my departure was delayed over 28 hours, meaning an extra night in a hotel and day off work, as well as taking public transportation out as return home option.

    I mentioned that they had at least 6 flights scheduled in between the original and updated departure, including one leaving 10 minutes later than my original flight (of course all were more expensive). They said not being rescheduled to one of those flights was likely due to availability. I said I could book any of the alternate flights at that moment through their website and the response was "I suggest you do that". Annoying and it's going to cost me a couple extra dollars, so not the end of the world, but be aware of this tactic if you need to arrive on time or have significantly more money invested in your travel.

    We ordered tickets through the Priceline and chose the Spirit Airlines, as it guaranteed us the cheapest tickets. The price for carry-on luggage on the priceline site was indicated in the range of $34-90 per bag. Of course, we were shocked by the price of $89 (that's the maximum!) for standard carry-on cases weighing 25 and 32 pounds! We also saw disappointment and bewilderment on the faces of other passengers. But that's not all!

    At the gate they will try to charge you an additional fee, offering you to combine 2 small bags into one. And if it doesn't fit... then you pay extra. We did not have a special case for the computer, and we put the computer in the pocket of a regular bag. We had to mix it all together. As result was a terrible mess in the bag, we were constantly worried that the computer would be ruined along with other accessories... Everything fit, we didn’t have to pay extra, however, we ended up with discomfort and a spoiled mood.

    But that’s not all! On the way back, the SPIRIT company gave us an even more unpleasant ''surprise.'' We had already boarded the plane, when they suddenly turned us around and forced us to get off the plane, announcing that the flight would be delayed by 3 hours. So we missed our plane from F.Lauderdale to Pittsburgh. There were no more flights to Pittsburgh that day. I asked for a hotel, since my friend was not feeling well (she has diabetes), to fly tomorrow on the same flight to Ford Lauderdale, and then to Pittsburgh. But we were denied a hotel. The workers referred to the fact that the hotel is ''NOT given to EVERYONE'', and ''DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION.'' They explained to us that the flight delay was not their fault, which means they were not obliged to provide a hotel.

    We had no choice but to rebook our tickets for a very inconvenient flight, with a wait at Ford Lauderdale of up to 15 hours! However... as soon as we received confirmation of our new flight to our email address, we immediately received a voucher for hotel and meals! In other words: as soon as the SPIRIT employees were convinced that we were leaving Houston in 2 hours, they immediately provided us with a hotel (knowing that we would not use it). How can you be so cunning and deceive your customers??? Do you really think that after this your apologies for the inconvenience and discomfort mean something and can be accepted by people? Tricky. Sneaky. Rude.

    We do not advise anyone to use the services of SPIRIT! You will not win in price, because by selling you cheap tickets, they will increase the price on luggage. In addition to this, you will get disappointment and a spoiled mood. If you have problems like ours, the SPIRIT will not be in the business of providing you with comfortable conditions for relax. They will blame the problem on you. It is surprising that such flight companies as SPIRIT even exist in the USA. They are simply a disgrace to the Country. My friend and I wish that this company leaves the business as soon as possible. P.S. - We are posting this comment, because we want to warn other people from troubles, nervousness, fatigue and discomfort.

    It is so sad how on a family of 4 booked flights, I lost $3,000+ with this airline and their Voucher rules. As they like to push their online chat feature to handle problems, trying to get a live representative isn't always easy! DUE TO UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES I had to extend my credit voucher for an additional 90 days. As they only give you 90 days to use your canceled flight credit which is never even close to the original amount at the time you booked. My $3,000 went down to $1,900.

    Keep in mind it would not be such a hassle to book within the 90 days given BUT due to their flight schedules and when they are released, you will not be able to book a trip into the future of anything more than 3-4 months after your cancelation. The long and short of this story is that I had 2 online chat conversations, but only one of them was queued for review. Because there is no way of saving the online chat conversations on your end, the expiration date of my voucher in my mind and what I had wrote down was not even 24 hours after it expired when I went to book.

    I tried to use my voucher on 9/14 at 11:00am and was told my voucher expired 9/13. I am very saddened and found it very unfortunate that due to a simple mistake and unfortunate events - this airline now has $3,000+ of my hard earned money that I will NEVER get back! How can a business deem this is okay for today's world. People who book through Spirit Air are usually the ones on a budget and cannot afford to travel with the other top airlines. I feel screwed, screwed, screwed and disappointed myself and my family. PLEASE do not book this airline unless you are 100% positive you can keep your reservation!!!
