I've used Priceline for many years and had no issues with them. This year I've used them twice for car rentals and been screwed over by them twice. It appears they are starting to employ deceptive business tactics at the cost to the consumer. The first time this year I booked a car rental in Chicago. I was quoted a price and that is what I expected to pay. My flight was delayed and I was in a hurry to pick up my car and unfortunately I did not pay attention to the contract I signed at the rental car company. My mistake but there is a pattern here. The price on the rental was almost 3 TIMES what I was signed up for. I did dispute this with Priceline and the car rental company. I had documentation showing what I was supposed to pay and what I got charged but I never did receive a full refund for the difference.

Just recently I rented again. I was sure to pick a rental that was payable the day I rented the car not at the time of the signing up for it on the web. I had problems with the web page and refreshed. I ended up with a rental that was payable immediately. Only I didn't know it. It was hidden in the small print on the page. When I immediately realized the mistake, I called Priceline. No one I talked to could rectify the situation. They just didn't have the option to do so. I had to call the car rental company immediately to get it cancelled. Still Priceline charged me for the rental even though it was cancelled with the car company.

I realize in each case if I had been more vigilant on my part, I would not have gotten into such a situation. When I've made mistakes in the past with priceline or there was a mistake on their part they were quick to rectify it. It's why I kept coming back, now it appears their business model no longer allows their customer service reps to rectify the situation, Even escalating the problem to supervisors was of no use. I would not recommend doing business with them.

VIP deal is not a reward to LOYAL customer. It is worse than EXPRESS deal. Only advantage is knowing the hotel name. It is expensive than express deal and not refundable. Priceline deceives the loyal customer by using a word "VIP."

Used Priceline to rent a car, had an issue in my payment with rental company. Priceline couldn't help with that although the reservation was made through them so technically I am their client. They have no authority on the companies they work with or list on their website. Next time just go to the service provider or the car rental directly. Very disappointed, worst experience.

Terrible service! Prepaid for a car rental through Priceline, and was then double charged for it by Thrifty with the explanation that the car I drove was an "upgrade" from what I prepaid for. I'm not sure how a Kia Sorrento is an upgrade from a "Jeep Cherokee or similar" vehicle? In explanations, their agent stated that the vehicle I used would actually cost less than I prepaid for, and that I would only have a minimal charge for an additional driver. In all, it more than doubled my original prepaid rental cost.

Looks like I'm not the only one that got screwed over by their dishonest, shady practices. FYI the Kia Sorrento was a horrible car. Noisy, shaky, and uncomfortable, I'd rather drive a crappy VW than a Kia ever again! Don't deal with Thrifty. They lie, their service sucks, and returns are slow and take forever. Priceline service was poor, with a "Oh well, there's nothing we can do!" attitude. Buyer beware! Thrifty phone service is poor as well, with their customer service agents lying to cover up the shady practices of their rental agents. Worst rental experience I've ever had!

I booked a room for my daughter and 3 children because of weather conditions through Priceline. My card was used to pay for the room through Priceline and was non-refundable. My daughter was requested to give up her credit card at the hotel. It is understandable that a card is required for security, phone calls, and other charges. My daughter's card was ultimately charged for the room which was never my intention. So here is a room that has been paid for twice and a third party using my money and information. Booked through Priceline.com and the customer service number is through Booking.com. BE CAREFUL WITH WHOM YOU SHARE INFORMAION.

The reservation couldn't be cancelled and they couldn't issue a refund. They stole my money and did nothing to help me. This is the worst customer service experience I've ever received. I booked a package trip, with pre-determined dates from the beginning of the reservation, to see my son graduate from Air Force BMT in San Antonio from 11/20-11/24. We arrived on 11/21 at 12:30 AM and we’re flying home on the 24th. Clearly I was checking out at 11 am on the 24th. However, yes they only charged me for the rental car beginning 11/21 but they scammed me and charged me for 11/25 as well. So, I left Sacramento on 11/20 and Priceline recognized I wouldn’t be landing/renting the car until 11/21 based on my arrival to S.A. But their system scammed me by charging me for an extra day of rental car as if I brought it home to Sacramento. Total scam. Talked to 2 reps and no help/understanding of the error. DONE WITH PRICELINE. Suggest you do the same.

I booked a car through Priceline. The car rental company was Europcar. The car was to be picked up at Manchester airport England. I booked this car for three days and included the extra liability insurance at an extra $33. When I went to pick the car up Europe car said I had to pay for their Liability fee which was nearly as much as the whole car rental. When I produced my documents as proof from Priceline Europe car told me that Priceline liability warrant was VOID. I had to pay an extra liability cost of £79 if they were to release the car. Oh and Europcar do not accept cash so I had to wait 2 hours for money to be transferred onto my card In order to make the booking together with a £250 deposit.

When I got back to America I called Priceline and had a 3 way call with Priceline and Europcar. Europcar told the Priceline agent, "WE DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR LIABILITY COVER." The Priceline woman didn’t even know this wasn’t accepted. For a company that’s said it’s here for customers they are not only misleading they don’t care at all at the stress of a person being stranded due to a illegal information / cover they have on the website with Europcar. All Priceline offered me was my $33 liability cover I paid upfront with them. Had I known the liability cover was going to be £79 which was the same cost of the car rental I would of gone with another company. I strongly suggest people think again about booking with this company. They are useless and the cover they offer with Europcar isn’t covered. I’m still waiting for a supervisor to call me back to date.

I just used Priceline for my first time to book flights for a club youth team that qualified for a national championship meet. One kid got missed and when I called to fix it, they refused to help. The only thing I could do was to cancel the entire trip and re-book it, the only problem is that already the prices had gone up a bunch and it was going to add a bunch of money to the entire reservation. Other parents went on to book and were shown one price, but as they were trying to pay, the system kicked them out and then made them re-do it at a higher price. I ended up calling the airlines direct to fix the issue with the one kid and found that we did not save any money by going through priceline. I could of gotten the same exact prices going straight through the airlines at a lot less hassle, I will never use them again.

However, the agent I spoke to said this was impossible, there was "no option for them to do this." I understand that the express booking states you can't change your reservation... But I didn't see an option NOT to book "express." Travel plans change all the time. Their policy seems ridiculous. I ended up having to cancel my trip through Priceline. I told the agent that I wouldn't book again through Priceline due to their policy, but that wasn't enough to escalate the issue. She didn't care that Priceline lost my business.

I have been a Priceline user for over 5 years now. Booked most of my airlines and hotels through priceline. I just can't believe that Priceline customer service is so pathetic and hung me dry in an unknown city but screwing up all of my reservations. Starting out with me trying to book a hotel through Priceline, where they very creatively gave a personalized hotel to open a credit card with $100 credit if the card is approved on the purchase.

I applied for the credit card and got it approved but by $100 credit did not apply to the trip. I called the customer service (if you want check all the calls from 315-382-9612) and she was so rude and said, "You are lying" and "I can't see any offers." You will get the money only after spending $1000 dollars in the next 3 months as a $100 statement credit (After my experience, forget about spending a $1000, I would not spend a penny on Priceline). I was ready to send her a screenshot of what I was seeing on the screen but she just denied it, nor forwarded me to a higher sales manager.

I was travelling to Denver again flight reservations through Priceline where as soon as I landed to Denver, they messed up my returning flights. I landed in Denver around 10pm and they put me on a flight back for 1am the same night. I clearly remember I chose Sunday morning flight. Why would a person fly from PHL to DEN to just say Hi to the airport and fly back (COMMON SENSE). I called customer service again (GO CHECK YOUR RECORDS), funny thing was the guy was only talking about emailing me the screenshot while I booked the flight. Literally 24 hours prior you guys did not believe in screenshots and now you do!! HOW PATHETIC

Since I was stuck in Denver and had no support from Priceline, I went to the American Airlines desk and asked for a way out. AA was better in service that PRICELINE (Nobody in the entire USA would believe it). Somehow they gave me some options and forwarded me to Frontier who had some cheaper tickets for Sunday night.

Priceline did not pay for that extra night that I had to stay in the hotel. I went ahead and booked a new one. They gave me a pathetic 3 star hotel through their EXPRESS DEALS. I reached the hotel which was 6 miles away from Downtown but was in the Downtown Express Deal option (FALSE ADVERTISING). I reach the hotel and oh my god, never been to a more shady hotel than this one. The receptionist said, "Someone partied last night and trashed all the rooms. We can put you in a Van and transfer you into Comfort Inn because we are full." It would look like you stayed here but you are in a motel. Also if you book through a vendor like Priceline, unless you don't check-in your room is not blocked (IS THIS HOW AN ONLINE HOTEL RESERVATION WORK?).

I called Priceline again telling myself how I am never ever in my life going to book another trip through them, they put me on hold for 15mins when I am telling them the hotel will not pickup the phone since they were just pretending to pickup and say " How may I help you?" and slam the phone back making you think it is disconnected. If you don't believe me ask the rep who was trying to call them about their experience. I had to find another hotel overnight in denver downtown on a Saturday which cost me another couple 100 dollars and they refunded me with a 16$ inconvenience fee. $16 ** DOLLARS for this inconvenience. Have some shame.

I am writing this email to let you guys know about the terrible customer experience and how you have lost a customer and how you have lost at least 10 more (ALL of my family) because you wanted to save $100. This is not a way to do business. You guys need help. I am going to make sure I can take all the actions I can to bring more awareness to this story via social media so that no one else have this pathetic experience.

We get to the rental place, ACE Rental, and as the office was disturbingly dirty, I started to get nervous. After finally getting the rental car, with extra charges that made it not the "best deal", we go look at the vehicle and it was dirty, stained seats, and empty of fuel. It was late at night and we had dinner waiting for us at our daughter's house, so we took the car, put fuel into it and went down the road.

When I called Priceline the next day to complain about the car and hopefully get a refund they were hands-off. I wanted to cancel the rental, get a refund and go to Enterprise at the airport to rent a new car. They wanted me to deal with the ACE rental office directly, which I did and the only thing they were willing to do was to give us a different car which meant that my husband had to take a whole morning of his vacation to drive 3 hours round trip to get t different car. My friend who was visiting me, left the Tampa Airport on Silver Airways that I had booked for her through Priceline.com. After an hour of a run around, Priceline saying the Airlines was supposed to honor the ticket and the Airline said Priceline was liable not them. The Supervisor, Magadelana who was probably from another country, was rude, curt, insolent and said that they could not honor the ticket because TSA had held her up at made her miss her flight. She arrived at the airport at 4:15pm for a 6:05pm flight from Tampa to Pensacola. NEVER BOOK ANYTHING THROUGH PRICELINE.COM. They are crooks, I had to spend $132.00 for her hotel and $289.00 for a new one way ticket. They are the WORST. Do not EVER book a flight through an agent go directly to the airlines.

Room was dirty, stained walls, asked housekeeping to clean them and was told to request through maintenance, not housekeeping. Bathroom was dirty and had mold in the shower. Called Priceline 1st night there and was told they'd offer a refund that night only. It was marathon weekend with all hotels booked so we had no choice to stay New York City with no heat and dirty room!!! Also, Priceline said hotel would charge $160.64 for hotel fees. I was charged $200 upon arrival and another $241.87 a week after check out. NO ONE will call back or return messages.

I made a car rental reservation through Priceline a few weeks ago. This is an express deal and during check out right underneath the total price it says "Best Price Guarantee". But 3 weeks later, I found out the same express deal is even cheaper now because the base rate drops. When I called customer service and thought they would give me a price match, they were very rude about it. Basically, the argument she gives me is I have to find lower rate from the exact same rental company I get from the express deal. Everyone knows this is definitely going to be more expensive no matter what.

What's the point of "Best Price Guarantee" clause at the checkout of my express deal if I can't use another express deal to beat the price. When I first make my booking, I had so much trust in this company that they were going to honor cheaper price that I found, I guess not. Thanks to this experience, I am definitely going to be more vigilant on what this company said they are going to stand behind. Another thing that make this experience worse is the customer service. They are very disrespectful throughout this entire process.

I booked a hotel reservation on Priceline. The day before the reservation, in fact 25+ hours BEFORE the reservation, I tried to cancel it because our travel plans changed. I called the motel but after multiple rings, I received the recording that the voicemail box was full. I then went to a Chat with Priceline. The answer was I would forfeit my entire payment to the motel because it was the day before. When I explained that it was more than 24 hours before checkin, the response was that I had agreed when I hit the Submit button.

My husband is a vet, and we are in CA for a Marine birthday celebration. The day after, he was ill so I changed our flight back east which caused the need to cancel the motel reservation. In CA, we are 3 hours behind the east. The motel did not answer. Priceline did not afford me the opportunity to explain our situation. The reply was over and over that I lost the money I paid for the room because it was the day before the reservation. Again, it was 25+ hours before the check in time!!!! This customer service is 100% unacceptable, is inconsiderate, and is disrespectful of the consumer. I will never use Priceline again!!!!

I booked a room through Priceline for a weekend getaway. My only request was for the hotel to have a hot tub. When we checked in we discovered that the pool/hot tub were out of order. When I inquired at the front desk I was told nothing could be done because I booked through Priceline and I'd have to complain to them because they were aware of it.

That was not the only issue. The first night we couldn’t even sleep because the heater didn’t work properly. We woke up to a room that was well over 90 degrees. Had no choice but to turn it off completely. They were nice enough to move us to another room (which took several tries because they had issues with locks). We finally moved our things to another room and were in our way for the day. We returned in the evening planning to just sit back and watch a little tv only to discover the tv didn’t work. They were going to move us again but we’re having computer issues so being exhausted from not sleeping well the night before we opted to stay put. The room was not very clean...dusty furniture etc. Nothing too gross... the sheets, coverlet and shower curtain were all really wrinkled.

Overall the whole stay was so dissatisfying that it ruined our weekend to relax. One staff member very apologetic and friendly but the only thing she could do was tell us to contact Priceline. I did and what a joke. They said they spoke to the hotel manager and they’d refund me 10%. Slap in the face! They refused to try for better compensation and suggested I call the hotel myself. When I said I had tried that already and was given the advice to call Priceline she said “My apologies, that’s all we can do.” Apparently because this was a non refundable reservation and I was told that when I booked. I will NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN!!

This service is a con, a rip off and a nightmare. I looked up rates for hotels in Savannah, GA, prices were comparable so given that I was about 15 minutes away from the hotel I wanted to stay in and there was no lack of vacancies in the area, I decided to call the the hotel directly. After googling “Phone Number For Springhill Suites Downtown Savannah” I called the number that came up. I got "Reservation Desk". I specifically asked if I was talking to the reservation desk in the hotel and the con artist I was speaking to said, "Yes you have called the right place. This is “reservation desk”", a gross and purposeful misrepresentation. The price shown on the internet was about 143 and by the time the man I spoke to was done it was about 196. I asked what the extra 50 plus dollars was for and he babbled something about tax and not being able to break it all down but it covered "EVERYTHING" and there would be "NO" other charges at the desk.

When I got to the hotel I was told I should pay 29 for parking. A 143 dollar room ended up being around 200 dollars because a Priceline employee purposely misrepresented who he was and what I was being charged for. I would have paid less and been spared a lot of aggravation by dealing with the hotel directly which is what I set out to do. Upon complaining to the hotel I was informed I need to take it up with Priceline. It was their affiliation with Priceline that put me in this position in the first place but in the end well sorry about my luck. Priceline ripped me off and charged me about 15 dollars for the privilege. A Marriott representative claims to be unable to take any action regarding the service I received but "shared" my experience with management. Unbelievable.

The rooms were clean and the place was a dump. In the smoking part of the building you could smell pot. We tried to resolve that night, but priceline did nothing, We ended up staying at another hotel.

I called priceline the next day. They contacted the hotel who refused to refund charges. I asked to create a ticket number, but had no intention of sending up the chain. In fact the agent from priceline said that was the call was over, she was going to close it. Priceline said that the charges were not refundable. I can't believe that priceline is so shortsighted. I was searching for a car rental, I came across Hotwire and Priceline. Hotwire was cheaper but Priceline had a price guarantee and in the past didn't require payment upfront, where Hotwire did. Before booking either of them, I called Priceline customer service (which was very difficult to get beyond the automated system) and spoke with an operator. I just wanted to know how the price guarantee worked. I read to her both prices and all the details. She said I needed to book it with them first then she would check the other website and issue a credit. She said the itinerary needs to match. I read all of the details to her, dates, location, vehicle pick up and drop off times. I told her I would book it while she was on the line. I booked it and then she said the car agency didn't match. Both sites were blind agencies and did not reveal until you made the purchase.

My initial call was just to find out how the price guarantee worked. Once I had it booked it charged my credit card, it was not a charge at pick up like in the past but that was OK as long as they matched the price, they would not. They said it was not a perfect itinerary match because it was different agencies. I tried to talk to a supervisor to either match the price or refund the charge, they would do neither. I understand my responsibility in this, every screen you check must be thoroughly read, but their operator was on the phone, I just wanted information and could not get it until I followed her instructions. PRICELINE is a scam and I will never use their service again or recommend it to anyone.

We were booking a hotel through what we thought was the hotel site but had to find out if the hotel was pet friendly. A link with a phone number was provided that said reservation desk. While we thought this was the reservation desk of the hotel, it was actually Priceline. The agent looked into the pet policy and advised us that the hotel was pet friendly but he did not mention that there was a $20 per day per pet fee. They later said that the hotel didn't provide them with that information but being the hotel experts that they aspire to, one would think that they would try to have complete information.

In discussion with the hotel on the first night, we found the staff and policies unfavourable and decided to cancel our second night stay. We were advised by the hotel that we had booked through Priceline, a fact that we were not aware of. We contacted Priceline by phone and they advised that we would be unable to cancel the second night because the fee was unrefundable within 24 hours of the stay. While this seems to be a normal practice for a first night stay, we were not pleased to hear that they were not going to reimburse us for the second night stay. The Priceline agent said that they would get back to us by email within 24-48 hours with a response.

They responded to us about the pet policy, saying that they do not know individual hotels' policies but they did not address our request for a reimbursement of the second night stay. I have replied to them two more times about getting reimbursed and they have still not addressed this. Our stay was on October 26. Best advice -- stay away from Priceline and book directly through the hotel of your choice. We left the hotel before checkout on the second day.

Priceline refused to refund the stay or let us out of the additional days. They said the hotel needed to do that and they would ask. They called back and said that the hotel refused. We insisted since the hotel was so horrific but they refused. We went to the hotel later and asked to be let out of the reservation. The hotel was irritated saying they already told Priceline okay!!!!

So Priceline flat out lied, refused to assist, and has a shady star system. With SO MUCH trust broken I don't know how I can trust them again. On top of all that, I can't leave reviews whenever I want, you have to be invited. I found that out initially when I wanted to rave about a hotel and couldn't. But it also means I can't warn people about this horrible one or lower their rating. So I have to say, Priceline might do you right, but they will just as viciously screw you. No stars.

When I asked the agent at the airport where the Easirent shuttle location was they told me that I had to call Easirent to send a shuttle to pick us up. I called the Easirent phone number and was rudely told that they had no rental cars available. I told the individual that I had a confirmation number. He rudely told me he didn't care. They had no cars available.

At that point we were pretty upset. I went to Hertz, Avis, Sixt Rent, Alamo, Enterprise, National, Thrifty and they ALL told me they had no cars. Finally an employee at the Dollar/Thrifty desk felt sorry for us and told us if we could wait a bit they might have a car become available. Within the next half hour we finally got a car. It cost us $369.47 at Dollar Car Rental. Priceline confirmed the price as $185.90. The difference is $183.67 more than the car we had rented through Priceline.

At a minimum, I felt that Priceline should reimburse us for the difference. They said, "I understand where you are coming from Richard. We appreciate your loyalty to us. However, we are not the ones who charged you for this reservation and payment is due when you pick up the car. If you were able to rent a car from another rental car company we are unable to refund the difference." This is clearly Priceline's fault. I believe they owe me the difference.

Why is the currency clearly displayed on Booking.com, but not on Priceline? Why was the US dollar value on Priceline equivalent to the Canadian dollar value of Booking.com? The answer: these are unfair trade practices intended to trick customers into overpaying for their travel. Every time I called Priceline a representative in an Asian country answered and refused to put me through to a supervisor no matter how many times I asked. And just kept saying that my wife has to stay there.

After 2.5 hours of back and forth the hotel rep felt sorry and called her bosses at 3 am to help me out. I don't appreciate the unprofessional and online they don't show your clock in time so be aware because you could end up booking something you can't use until 15 hours later. I will never use these people again. They are located in Columbia. I got so angry I cussed the rep out in Spanish and she was shocked I knew Spanish. The company is a joke.

They have fine print that basically restricts you from ever canceling your tickets or car rentals (even within 24 hours like everyone else enables you yo do). They are a very unethical company. Their prices are not very good either. Very hard lesson learned but I would recommend no one ever use Priceline.

Around 1am after 6 hours in the car an attendant tells me before I even enter the hotel that dogs are not allowed. I call Priceline for help. They tell me it’s my own fault for not reading fine print saying nothing is guaranteed and refuse to help me. Devastated I have to scramble in the middle of the night after a long car trip for other options less the $58 deal that added up to $93 with all their fees. Their “customer service” agent was right about one thing, it is my fault. It is my fault I chose to trust Priceline. Never again. It’s not a deal with this huge inconvenience, all their fees, and having to pay for a second hotel last minute.

First experience with Priceline. My mother booked a room through Priceline and accidentally said Saturday the 20th to the representative. She was looking at an old calendar and Saturday was actually the 19th. She called back 5 minutes later and was told there was nothing that could be done to modify and no refunds. My mother who is not very tech savvy, made an honest mistake and immediately tried to rectify the problem.

I called on her behalf and after nearly 45 minutes I finally got someone who could cancel the reservation. I simply needed to drive over to the hotel and call Priceline back with a name and position of someone at the hotel that would authorize the refund. Seemed ridiculous to me, but I did it. Hopefully my mother will see the refund. Fortunately the Hotel booked me a room at a much better price due to the hassle of dealing with Priceline.

I asked at the end of my last call if I could talk to someone at Priceline about the customer service and the rep basically hung up on me. So I went online and got some other Priceline customer service numbers and found that it is impossible to get a real person on the phone. They hide behind an elaborate phone tree that will suck the life out of you. I would have even paid a fee to modify. Or canceled and booked again with Priceline. This seems like a dying business that has zero interest in capturing and maintaining customer relationships. For what it's worth. I don't write reviews. This is my first ever. But as a small business owner, I can not believe the way my mother was treated by this organization.

I attempted to cancel on Oct 9th and was told I was within the 5 day period and would be charged 1 full night stay because they do not count the day of check in as one of the 5 days. So actually, you need to cancel at least 6 days out from your arrival day. I called the hotel to see if they could help and they offered me a cheaper rate than Priceline ($20 less per night without the Priceline fees which are about $25 per night). So for a 2-night stay, the hotel was cheaper by over $40 ($406 for Priceline vs $360 for hotel direct). Same exact room amenities with same view. Called Priceline again which they said they would not honor their price match guarantee because they only match websites and not the hotels directly! They cant cancel NOR change the booking. All we needed to do was change the card. We wanted to keep the room. So we asked was the hotel going to allow us to check in without us having that card for verification. Again NO. So... We're just out of $160.00 because we can't check in without the person that booked the room.

THEN we called the hotel they said they were overbooked. They didn't even have a room for us. We called Priceline back and they still refuse to cancel the reservation, refused to switch anything even though we couldn't stay in the room anyway. We asked if we could put the room in a different location. They said they will give us a room of there choosing and NO we can't change the location. This was by far my worse experience with Priceline. Three other times they have ruined a travel experience. Simple things that could be fixed they are not helpful with. We had two problems with the same vacation. We booked two flights, one with British Airways to get to and from the Greece, and one with Aegean Airlines to get from Mykonos to Athens. For the first, the British Airways pilot's strike wound up canceling our flight out. Because we booked through Priceline, BA said we had to deal with Priceline. Priceline tried to be helpful, but ultimately could not be.

The replacement itinerary they quoted involved 36 consecutive hours of travel (with horribly long layovers in two different airports), and a 4:15 AM arrival at our destination. We wound up having to deal directly with British Airways to get a flight that could be survived by a human being, even though they originally wouldn't, and made us first waste time with Priceline. Having booked it through Priceline instead of directly with British Airways cost us about 6 hours of time and a pretty large amount of stress (watching an expensive vacation going down the tubes because we seemingly couldn't get there).

The second is far worse. We realized on the last day of our trip that we were going to be getting to the airport too early, and wanted to change our flight. We looked up the price with Aegean airlines and it was only about $30 more per person that our current tickets, so we tried to change our flight. Priceline wanted $30 per ticket to make the change (fine), and then also wanted close to double the price per ticket that Aegean was charging.

After two hours of fighting with them on the phone, we paid $50 per ticket to cancel our reservations, then bought the tickets through Aegean (which by then had gone up $20 per ticket). In the end... "Just click and go?" Sorry, no. Just click and then if anything changes "we will annoy and gouge you at every turn". I thought their business model was to make booking easy, and to get the consumer the best price. Apparently that business model only applies to getting your business to begin with. After that, you're just fresh meat. I will never, ever, ever, ever consider using Priceline again.

In July 2019, I bought a round trip ticket to include car rental thru a Priceline from Houston to Canada on September 29, 2019, and Canada back to Houston on October 03, 2019. Early August, Priceline associates called me that my flight from Houston to Canada is cancel. Priceline associate was not able to book me to another flight, therefore, I tried to get my money back so that I can look for a different Airline. It was a hassle trying to get my money back from them. First, they gave me the run around that it was there while my bank told me nothing. Then, they told me to contact the airline to get my money back, yet, the airline have nothing to do with it and told me to call back Priceline.

After, talking to various associates and supervisors, they finally contacted their finance department to get my money back, however, it took the whole month of August before I get my money back. Now, the car rental issue. I called the car rental just to make sure that I have the reservation still intact since I already paid the insurance coverage for the entire period. Now, the bad news is they have me down to pick up the car early, but I told them that I have to change flight because the original flight was cancelled and therefore, I will be arriving very late. Again, they told me to call Priceline to hash-out the time pick up for the vehicle. Nothing was done about it, but, I decided that I will fix this when I get to Canada and talk to rental car face-to-face.

With all this fiasco, I decided to check my returning flight for October 03, 2019 to Houston. Oh! boy! I almost cried, after calling the airline company, they told me the confirmation is no where to be found. After, they thoroughly research the database through confirmation number, my first and last name, etc., they finally found that Priceline booked me for October 3rd 201, get this "From Houston to Canada". Are you kidding me.. I'm so pissed off that I could cry, punch wall, throw items etc.!!!

Now, I'm in the process of fixing this now with PRICELINE. Somebody needs to do something about this company. Very, very bad experience. I don't want anybody to go through this fiasco. Ever. I just want PRICELINE to get their ** (Stuff) together because us consumers have better things to do than correct their mistakes (inexperience, bad judgement. etc). I hope, someone in a higher position investigate this problem so that it will not repeat to another customer.

I booked a rental car through Priceline.com (Booking Reference Number: **). When we booked, we were in Mexico. When we arrived to pick up the car at BWI airport (USA) the agent told us (my wife and I) that because I am American with a US driver’s license, the rate I was quoted and paid, does not apply to US citizens. The Alamo agent instructed us to call Priceline's customer service hotline. I called and was promptly told that it was not Priceline's responsibility and that I should call rentalcars.com for assistance as they were the ones who actually did the booking (I do not understand this as I booked on Priceline.com, the email correspondences were from Priceline.com and I received a satisfaction survey from Priceline.com).

I called rentalcars.com, was told that rentalcars.com tracks their customers VPN’s to generate quotes and that is why I was quoted “Mexican rates”. I was forced to cancel reservation #**, was not refunded the taxes I paid for the reservation (I was given some excuse as to why but cannot remember as I was so frustrated) and was instructed to rebook.

I tried to book directly through Alamo but was quoted $700+ for the car. That was far too expensive for the car I had been quoted and paid $160 initially. When I rebooked through Priceline.com, the price for the same vehicle and insurance was more than two times as expensive (total: $327). The fact that my wife and I were basically being held hostage in the car rental terminal without any other reasonable way to get to our destination, I was forced to pay the $327 for the same car that I had paid $160 for a week before.

I believe this is unethical for companies to conduct themselves in this manner by passing the blame onto their affiliates, charging US citizens more just because of their nationality and placing us in a very uncomfortable situation. I am confident that it is illegal but am unwilling to conduct the research to verify as I have spent much time already fighting this issue. This ordeal costs us 2 hours at the rental car company as we tried to figure all this out, 4 hours arguing over the phone or online chat with Priceline.com/Rentalcars.com to no avail, I was not refunded the taxes for the first reservation, Priceline.com or Rentalcars.com (not sure who had the money) was able to keep the $160 in their account for almost 2 weeks thus collecting interest that is rightfully mine, and I paid just over twice the originally quoted amount for the same exact service.

What is interesting about this, is that I don't write reviews. It takes too much energy in my opinion, but after this experience I have to do this!! After 6 years of not being able to vacation, my husband and I were excited for a night away from our 6 kids. I booked a rental car and hotel though Priceline. What a bad idea!! We got to the car rental place and they didn't have the vehicle that we requested. Due to time restraints, we were left paying more than we agreed upon to get another vehicle.

Oh but it gets better.... After driving 4 hours to Dallas for a concert that started at 8pm, we arrive at the hotel at 6 pm (Crowne Plaza Hotel (Downtown Dallas)) just to find out that there was no reservation for us in the system. I called Priceline (as told by the hotel staff member). They placed me on hold and stated that they would get things worked out. After 30 minutes of waiting, I was told that, "The hotel was overbooked and we can offer you relocation or full refund". Needless to say, I was surely unhappy with both offers as I was not about to be out another $90 for the tickets I purchased for the concert. I can't say that I was nice, but that's neither here nor there. I was pissed!

I asked for the relocation and stayed on hold for a hour and a half (sitting in my car). Just to learn that we had a new reservation, but on the outskirts of Downtown Dallas. At that point, I just wanted to be out of the car so I agreed. Got to that hotel, just to be told that I had to pay AGAIN!! Are you kidding me?? Furious is an understatement!!

I finally rented my own room at the Sheraton for $300 (which was triple what I originally paid) just to have peace! Once we arrived to our room and got dressed, we had already missed the concert! PRICELINE is a JOKE!!!! It has been 5 days and I haven't heard from anyone about a refund! Let me tell you this "Priceline", when you don't do your jobs it truly does affect others! I can't tell you the next time I will have this opportunity and your company RUINED it! If I could give NEGATIVE stars, believe me I would. Please people BEWARE! I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy! We are out hundreds of dollars and not to mention time (in which you can't put a price on). You all have been warned!!

Since I do not have one, I was charged a rate 4x bigger (200usd). Since I was traveling with a small kid I did not have a better alternative than paying the difference. So we arrived to this location and went directly to our room to shower immediately. My wife was itching with hives down her entire body, legs, face, arms, etc. When she went to get changed near the bed she came to me when I was coming out of the bathroom. She shows me there is literally black mold coming out of the wall exposed. And as I start to look around the room I see it's everywhere - what the heck?? Black mold?? How is this facility even open? When my wife went to the lobby to talk to the guy who checked us in - he refused to move us rooms and assured us it was in all of the rooms.

She comes back to tell me what he said so I call the front desk and he said, "Well it's the room you purchased. I won't exchange it, nor refund the room." Then proceeds to put us on hold and hangs up the phone. I come flying out of our room right to the front desk where his eyes lit up in terror. I said, "Okay you hung up on me and we have a serious problem and you need to fix our situation." He's said, "I can't help you" - I said, "How is it you can't help us when it's your facility that is the problem." We came all the way from Reno, Nevada unaware of Iowa all together. And now this guy doesn't want to move us rooms, due to their mold infestation throughout the entire hotel - the longer I stood there the longer he ignored the entire situation.

He said, "If you're not happy you can leave" - I was furious that he couldn't even accommodate us with another room, neither a refund of our original price. They refused to pay us a refund, we contacted Priceline with the situation as they contracted this company as a accredited facility. Neither places feel they are liable for the fees in which we purchased from their company. They said, "Well you purchased a hotel that was non-refundable..." Okay, well we checked in which wasn't the problem - the facility was infested with black mold that was exposed. How is it that they believe our room was stay-able? I fought on the phone for over an hour with Priceline speaking to 4 different people to only be told - "We'll let future guest know about the situation," how does that resolve our issue??

Now we are out the purchase price of the room, and had to find another hotel to sleep in that night. Do not stay here! We both had immediate symptoms from the black mold: exposed black mold - the most common black mold symptoms and health effects are associated with a respiratory response. Chronic coughing and sneezing, irritation to the eyes, mucus membranes of the nose and throat, rashes, chronic fatigue and persistent headaches can all be symptomatic of black mold exposure or black mold poisoning. I had a car booked through Priceline for Fox car rental. My flight arrived at 11.30 pm (which I included in the request) so I had the pick-up time as Midnight that same day. When I got to the airport my car had been cancelled by Priceline, so I had to rent through Dollar who still had cars.

    Three things:
    1. Priceline had automatically made the time of pick-up as 12.05 am so it looked like I was 12 hours late in picking up the vehicle so it was automatically cancelled (Fox said they were comfortable with the midnight time).
    2. I had pre-paid so theoretically even if I was wrong to put midnight I had that car paid for for the weekend regardless of whether or not I paid an extra day so the car should have been still available if it wasn't for Priceline cancelling.

    3. If you're going to ask for flight information then allow an alert of some kind that the flight arrival time and the cancellation policy do not correlate.

Very frustrated with the situation and out more than $500 due to double car rentals!

They said it was the money they got from Priceline, then I reached out to Priceline. They told me the rental company should not tell me the final price of $160, as $160 is actually the actual cost of car rental, and the extra $20 is Priceline's profit margin! Good thing I noticed or I would have shown up in NY with no room. Not only was it not the price for 3 people but the room could not accommodate 3 people at all.

Priceline would not help at all, they just said all their rooms are for 2 and when I asked why they allowed any number over 2 adults in the search engine or why they didn't state this at the time of selection, they didn't have an answer. As it turns out of course, the hotel charges $100 more for a room that accommodates 3. They do this deliberately at Priceline, allowing you to put any number of adults in the search engine but never specifying that the price you pay and the rooms shown only reflect price/space for two people.

There was no restaurant only bar which was not family-friendly. I brought this to Priceline's attention and was told that was “a matter of opinion.” But the fact that the place was packed with drunk patrons that were loud and swearing, clearly not suitable for children. It consisted of a bar and bar stools and 3 or 4 tables that were occupied and space reeked of alcohol and honestly my room was bigger than this so-called restaurant. The room and hotel were just disgusting. The chair that was in the room was so filthy we did not touch and as was the carpet and there was pubic hair in the tub. Not to mention the next morning I went to get ice from the machine and was brought to tears when I saw the mildew ridden, nasty ice machine.

Unfortunately, I was unaware this the night before because it was dark and I had used some in my water. We brought this to the attention of Priceline and they were not very helpful and pretty much said we had to take it up with the hotel which in turn told us we had to take it up with Priceline. Now I will say I did receive a $20 refund but only because Priceline misadvertised the continental breakfast. I only was made aware of most of the issues the next day. I depended on Priceline to provide accurate information for this hotel and therefore did not cancel when I could have. If I had decided to not stay there I would have been charged regardless. This reservation had an option to cancel and get a full refund if done within 4 days. I canceled my reservation two weeks prior to my stay, and got a confirmation of my cancellation. However, Priceline refused to issue a refund and they told in Chat to contact this parent company Agoda. Well I contact Agoda, they said they are waiting for the bank to process a refund since it had to do with currency conversion.

3 weeks later, I still don't have my refund. I called Priceline again, but insisted for me to call Agoda stating it is not their problem and they don't have a way to contact Agoda (their sister company). I booked my reservation via Priceline not Agoda. Why can they help. Be careful when shopping on your travel needs. Do not give your business to Priceline. This is a very dishonest business practice. It is not worth it, stay away!

I went online to find local rental car deals like have so many times in the past, but one particular time my credit card was charged since they had my credit card information on file.. all other times would pay at the counter when vehicle picked up and seen right away charged credit card and reached out to Priceline to question and ask they cancel this reservation..,

No problem. Handled with live chat and this happened on July 2nd and fast forward to September 12th and notice a a transaction did not recognize and after making calls to my credit card company Capital One was I updated what was going on and they asked for any documentation and explained did not have anything and please reach out to Priceline...

I was very upset and confused so immediately got on the phone with Priceline and their agent looked up the information and agreed as well and ask, that he send me something via e-mail or by mail so I can present this information to Capital One so this can get resolved. The document was sent via e-mail as requested stating exactly what I said and agent agreed as well, then after sending called back 20 minutes later and said, "Oh sorry. Should not of sent you the document and we are not refunding the $223.47..."

My advice do not have Priceline have credit card on file and really watch how you do business with them and again had good experiences with them on all other occasions and very upset and confused why? Can’t get this answer and when ask to escalate there are no options given? Never allow them to have credit card on file and only give this information to the direct merchant like Enterprise, Avis, and other car rental places.

First they had to contact the hotel to get authorization to switch the dates and the general manager was not in so I had to call back. I called expecting to switch the dates for the next day only to be told that this could only be authorized by the general manager and that he was not in and not expected until Monday. We slept in the car that evening and our two kids. Since we were just passing through that town that reservation was no longer needed and it became a Request for a refund.

Each time I’ve called in when they’ve asked me to and the general manager has never been in. I am uncertain why they are partnering with companies when they can’t reach their people who are authorized to process a request for a refund. BUT -- the rudeness displayed to me by the Priceline chat and customer service people was completely unnecessary. The chat person referred me to Booking.com, a service I had never used. I checked just in case and Booking.com had no record of me or any reservation through them.

So I went back to Priceline, which DID have a record of my booking. When I called the customer service number, I got an automated system that said they were unable to assist unless I had my confirmation number and pin. I had both of those -- but no matter how often I entered them, the system said "I'm sorry, we are unable to find your reservation."

Super frustrated now, I called the hotel. No luck. I did actually reach a person this time, but she said she couldn't help me and I'd have to go to Priceline to cancel. Overall, getting the runaround was supremely frustrating. Just let me talk to someone and if I can't do it, fine... but don't refer me to a service I've never used with a number that doesn't work, hoping I'll just give up! TERRIBLE customer service. Priceline admitted their error and would not correct it. Our car isn't working because we're waiting on a new motor. I made a reservation through Priceline (Itinerary# **) for a week's rental. The reservation was through Hertz on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge. An hour away from our house. At the time of the reservation, Hertz informed me that they could not fulfill our reservation because the car they were going to allow us to rent hadn't been returned yet. They called another location, who didn't have a car either. So they said they'll just cancel our reservation.

I called Priceline and spoke with an agent and two managers who all (and there is a recording) acknowledged that they were in the wrong. They acknowledged that we did everything we were supposed to do in the way we were supposed to do it and said that their only option was to cancel our reservation. I asked each if they were treated like Priceline was treating us, how would they feel (again, they said they were recording our conversation) and each said that they would be upset. But said that their system prevents them from doing anything other than canceling the reservation.

So they took a reservation. We drove 2 hours total. They didn't fulfill the reservation they took. They acknowledged that it was completely their fault. They refused to even consider getting us in something different through another company and rather told us that the only option we had was to cancel. Now I can't make my trip. I'm out 2 hours drive (and gas) and an hour on the phone. And according to Priceline, this is just the way it is. Please consider, although I've had a good experience with them before, that they will not attempt to help you out when you don't have a perfect transaction. Even if they caused the problem.

If I could give it negative stars I would. If I could swear on here I would. I made a reservation about 1-1/2 hours ago for a one-way flight, you would think that would be a simple task, no problems. WRONG!!! I would not want to be at my doctor's office right now because I am 1000% sure he would admit me to the hospital because my blood pressure is so high from the level of frustration from trying to book a ONE-WAY airline ticket!!!

I found a good price on the ticket I wanted. Of course, as with all airlines, if you want to pick your seats or bring a bag, it costs extra. Next thing they'll be charging you for is if you bring food onto the plane! But that's another rant for another time. My flight, for $163 was considered to be "Economy Basic" which gives you nothing but a seat on the plane of their choosing, unless you want to pay extra, and no carry on bag. I opted to take the $35 Upgrade to "Economy" which allows me to make my Seat Choice and bring a Carry On Bag in addition to my one personal item. I went step by step through the process, made my Seat Choice for the two flights (11D for both flights) and continued all the through to the end and paid for the ticket.

I printed the pages showing that I had completed the process and had a Priceline Trip Number and Ticket Number. All of this was going to my husband's email since he was the one who was flying so I had to wait for him to print the email. Neither the page I printed with the completed reservation or the emailed confirmation contained one single piece of information with regard to the "Upgrade" I purchased indicating that he would be allowed to bring one carry on in addition to his one personal item. In addition, I noticed that on the second page of the completed reservation I printed, the seat numbers were NOT the seat numbers that I had selected for either flight. I had chosen 11D for both flights and he was now sitting in 17A for the first leg of the journey and 18D for the second.

I tried using the Chat to get a clear understanding of this mix-up but after nearly 10 minutes I had enough. The individual I was chatting with was trying to quote the United Airlines Baggage Policies to me as I explained to him that I did not book my ticket WITH United Airlines but I booked it through Priceline and I paid Priceline the extra $35 to bring the Carry on bag on the plane, not United Airlines. Then he tried to Upgrade me when I had already upgraded. His lack of understanding was more than I could deal with so I asked him for the phone number to customer service...It is not easy to find on the website.

Obviously my next step was to call customer service. Of course I was met with a message that the hold time was approximately 25 minutes but I could choose to receive a call back and retain my place in line, I chose this option. This is the one and only thing I can say was good about Priceline. I love this option and think all companies should offer it! I received my call back in about 20 minutes and that was a treat from the very beginning as the language barrier was where the problems began and it was all downhill from there.

First they had a hard time locating the reservation, why...I have no clue, I gave him the Reservation ID. Then he wanted to know what I was calling about, which I had already explained when he asked when he answered the phone. So I explained again exactly what I wanted to know...1-Why did the seats change from the ones I selected to some random seats and 2-Where is the information that explains what baggage he would be allowed to bring on board with no additional charge and why this was not on the e-ticket.

This is exactly what I was told. First, the Seat Choice means you can choose a seat but your seat isn't confirmed until you arrive at the airport. It doesn't matter what seat you choose, or what seat is printed on your ticket, the actual seat you will be sitting in will NOT be confirmed until you arrive at the airport the day of your flight. You may as well not pay extra because it does absolutely nothing for you! Second, the ability to carry on a Carry On in addition to your personal item is part of the upgrade to Economy from Economy Basic.

After hearing this guy repeat over and over that paying for "Seat Choice" and choosing my seats doesn't make any difference because they won't be final until check in at the airport I had it. I hung up the phone and canceled the reservation and will book directly through the carrier, United Airlines. This is my first and last experience with Priceline.com.

Had a horrible experience booking a hotel with Priceline (and not the name your price version). I was booking a specific hotel based on price and location, which I could have done on any website, but Priceline was slightly cheaper (I wanted to be walking distance to the Munich old town, and close enough to a subway to walk with my bags). Thought I found a good deal with a Holiday Inn, and after booking a non-refundable stay, I discovered an error on Priceline's website. They marked the Holiday Inn near Sendlinger Tor (20 min walk to old town), but in reality it was about an hour walk from the other direction. Priceline's customer service's goal was basically to keep me on the phone until I gave up. The third representative did admit there was an error with the map, but claimed that it was my fault because I had the correct address and could have looked it up separately.

After about 2-3 hours of nonsense on the phone they did eventually offer a full refund. It's now about a month since this fiasco, and the error still persists on their website. They clearly don't care. I'm not entirely blameless, naming a hotel "Holiday Inn East" and placing it southwest of the old town is a bit weird (I thought maybe there's a modern downtown west of there), and this hotel didn't show up in my searches on other websites (probably because it isn't in the neighborhood I was focused on). So I could have seen this coming. Perhaps I'm foolish for thinking a website/company like Priceline has accurate information, and if it didn't they'd own their mistakes.

The price was $47. 2 days later when I went to the car rental place to pick up the car the lady behind the counter didn't realize that I have already prepaid for the rental car through Priceline so she said, "Your rental fee will be $31". I asked her I said, "$31? I thought it was $47." She said, "Oh you have already paid through a third party. I'm sorry." She wasn't supposed to tell me the rate but now since I knew that I paid $16 more to Priceline than what I could have paid at the counter of the rental car service I called Priceline and told them my situation and they said, "Well the rental car company shouldn't have told you the price." I said, "That's between you and the rental car company not me. I'm the paying customer and can you please reimburse me the difference."

The manager said that she have no way of reimbursing me the difference and the only thing she could do is give me 10% discount which for a rental car if it's $30 to $40 that's only $3 to $4 discount. I think that's horrible and plus that's false advertising for a company to advertise that the prices are so much cheaper in reality they're 10 to $12 more expensive than the counter price at the rental car service. I would never use Priceline again because I feel like they are cheating folks out of their money.

So I called THREE times within the 24 hour window to get a price match and a refund for the but they WOULDN'T do it. They put me on hold for hours (in hopes I would give up) and finally told me that they couldn't verify the price I was mentioning even though I see it on that other website right in front of me on my screen. I wouldn't trust PRICELINE ever again! In the 3 times I called they used the same tactic of putting me on hold for hours, and then telling me they wouldn't be able to do it. It was midnight after a long drive with my 8 year old daughter. We had driven 12 hours and needed a hotel in Minneapolis. We booked a hotel 30min away from our location. We drove there and then at 1230am we arrived at the hotel and the hotel said they were fully booked 12 hours ago and they told Priceline that 12 hours ago and Priceline kept booking people there! There were 3 people in the lobby who booked with Priceline with no rooms to check into like myself. The other hotels in the area we fully booked too! Priceline blamed it on the hotel but no it was Priceline's fault! The hotel told Priceline they were full 12 hours ago. Priceline charged my card leaving me with no room on my card for another hotel room. We were stranded because of Priceline's terrible service. We had to drive another hour to find a hotel with a room that I had to call around and find on my own. Be careful! Do not recommend.

I contacted them within an hour of booking my "Express Deal" due to finding a cheaper price through Hotels.com - approximate cost difference of over $100.00 with taxes and fees. I reached out to Priceline, which their price guarantee says if you reach them within 24 hours OF BOOKING they'll refund 200%. All of the itinerary met Priceline's, but they said because the trip was today they could not price match or guarantee. Priceline, you should probably change your verbiage, because it is very vague, and your price guarantee is not worth anything. I certainly will not be using your services any longer. After waiting 20 minutes trying to figure out where we were going to sleep for the night, the hotel got a "cancellation" and was able to place us in a room. The next morning we woke up to find ants on the food my 2 year old was about to eat. They were all over the bed and dressers. The hotel gave me half my money back and told me I needed to get the other half from Priceline. I got the run-around from multiple "customer service" reps including a few higher management folks. It was escalated to the management team for review and the best they could do was a 20% refund.

I was originally told they would refund the hotel portion which they are not willing to do now. Their whole response is that this upgrade is not available to be booked until January. This is complete BS. I have been in contact with the hotel directly and they could've book the room for me no problem. They are continuing to offer the same package deal to consumers. This is fraud. But then I also got a charge from Priceline at 278. I called Priceline and was told that they would correct it. Sure enough, they had the hotel cancel my lower rate and I paid Priceline's higher rate, even though the hotel had no record of Priceline's involvement when I checked in.

Priceline used their partner services, Booking.com for the transaction. I entered the address information for "Hotel Blagaj" into the GPS to take me there. I arrived at Hotel Blagaj, and was told by the receptionist they had my reservation and showed me the room. Everything was fine, however, upon checking out, the Hotel said that they did not have a reservation from Priceline and that I was in the wrong hotel. The hotel had the same name, same address same everything. I contacted Priceline immediately, they said they cannot do anything to help as they were not affiliated with the hotel. They could only transfer my phone call to Booking.com. I was transferred.

I waited on the line for over an hour and incurred international charged on my phone, only to find out Booking.com does not operate on Sundays. All I wanted done was for my payment to be transferred to the hotel I stayed at that had the same name and address. No one helped. I paid the hotel on my credit card and was hoping I would be refunded by Priceline after my return to the States, as I trusted in their customer services. I was completely wrong. When I contacted Priceline to help resolve the issue, they said there was nothing they could do for me as this was their partners issues.

If I wanted to book via Booking.com, I would have used those services. I used Priceline for my booking services and I expect them to resolve the issue. In any case, this is not about the money. I don't even need the refund, a simple kind gesture, a voucher for something else would have been plenty to know that Priceline was on my side. The senior supervisor by the name Alex said that there was nothing he could do and hung up on me rudely. From someone who continually used Priceline services I warn anyone using them to be warned. Priceline partners with third-party sites and does not guarantee customer satisfaction or protection. I will not be using Priceline anymore due to their lack in support when using their services.

Booked a pet friendly room with two queen beds three weeks ahead of travel time. My credit card was charged three days later. Got to the hotel this weekend and a room with two queen beds was not available. Was offered a room with a king bed which would not work for three people. Sent to a less expensive, sister hotel that had two queen beds available, but not pet friendly. Was told by the first hotel that our stay would be comped for the inconvenience. Did not remember until later that evening that I had already been charged by Priceline on my credit card. Brought this to the attention of both hotels and was told I would need to contact Priceline to get reimbursed. Contacted Priceline, gave them the above details and was initially told the credit card charge would stay because we were given a comparable room- even though it was not pet friendly and it was less expensive.

Best they would do after some push back on my part was give 25% off the room rate charged. So Priceline offered a booking at a hotel with certain amenities, that room is not available upon check in, customer is inconvenienced and offered a comped room by hotel. Reviewed Aug. 15, 2019

I'm writing this review after my second "bait & switch" reservation issue, as well as two additional issues I will detail below starting with the most recent. 8/15/19 - I booked what was advertised as 2 double beds oceanview pet-friendly room at $241/night at the Comfort Inn South in Nags Head, NC and when I received my email confirmation I noticed it did not say anything about oceanview or pet-friendly. I called the hotel to confirm the room type booked. They informed me it was 2 double beds streetview and not pet-friendly, without me even telling them what I expected. I told Jennifer (asst manager) the situation and she said I would have to contact Priceline. After two attempts at the chat, one of which the Priceline rep told me the hotel was not pet friendly and I should have seen that on the contact page I was given, I requested the phone number to call to handle this situation.

The first representative I spoke to said he was calling the hotel to ask for a resolution and placed me on hold for 15-20 minutes. When he returned to the line he said the hotel kept putting him on hold immediately and never returning to the line. I requested to cancel and have a full refund. He said they could not do that because I booked a non-refundable rate, even though they did not book the room with the hotel that was advertised and I selected. He said I would have to wait for the hotel to get back to them with a possible resolution but he could not tell me if or when this would be resolved. I expressed my frustration including the fact I could not wait to find a hotel that met my needs because it is a holiday weekend we are booking and are aware the limited rooms will book quickly. Still no additional or fast resolution was offered.

I made it clear I had the screen shots from when I was booking that showed the room was supposed to be oceanview and pet-friendly but that obviously did not matter. I told this representative I'd call the hotel back myself, which I did. Jennifer at the hotel confirmed her front desk staff (Jessica) had spoken to Priceline twice and offered to move the reservation to the required room type but it would cost substantially more. Priceline never inquired about my requested cancellation and refund per Jennifer. I flat out asked her if she was telling me Priceline was lying to me about being placed on hold and no one returning to the call and she told me yes and it happens all the time with Priceline.

After confirming she was willing to cancel and refund my reservation, she said yes but Priceline would have to do it. I called Priceline back and the lady I spoke to read the notes from my previous conversation where it was noted the previous rep had spoke to someone at the hotel at least once but no resolution was confirmed. I then told her about my conversation and multiple issues and requested confirmation of a cancellation and refund. She finally agreed and provided a confirmation code and said the issue would take 1 business day. I will confirm with my bank tomorrow that this refund has been issued.

8/13/19 - I was about to book the Best Western Ocean Reef on Priceline for our stay mentioned above and decided to check the Best Western site first where I saw it was noted as not pet-friendly; however that had been my specific search on Priceline. I called to confirm and was told they've reported the same issue to Priceline multiple times, including just last week.

June 2018 - We booked a week at the Hilton resort in Daytona Beach, FL and at check-in was assigned a streetview room. I showed the front desk staff the screenshots from when I made my reservation for oceanfront and was re-assigned to oceanfront at no addition cost. Amazing customer service from the Hilton staff to fix an issue that was likely Priceline's fault with no further effort on my part.

Prior to those events I booked a single night at the Glenstone Lodge in Gatlinburg, TN and not only was I double charged but I was charged more than what I booked for online through Priceline originally. This took two weeks of me following up with both the lodge and Priceline. Moving forward I will never use or recommend Priceline again. I will likely avoid Comfort Inn nationally and the Glenstone Lodge in Gatlinburg due to their lack of customer service.
