I am cancelling a flight for April 21. They want to know why. I said I'm 73 and afraid to fly. They want to evaluate my request. Huh? I intend to spend my quarantined time letting people know how Priceline does business.

I reserved the car thinking that I was going to need it. When I realized I was not going to need the car within a couple of hours I called to cancel the reservations. I was told that I could not cancel the reservation and I could not receive a refund. When I book the car I thought I had checked the box to pay when I pick it up and they said that I paid for it before I pick the car up so therefore it was not refundable which I don't understand. If I cancel that 2 hours after I booked it I was not to pick the car up until the next day so I canceled it well within 24 hours. Priceline is refusing to give me a refund so I will never use Priceline ever again. So basically I paid for a car that I never used. I do not think it's fair that Priceline is ripping people off like this and they do not try to work with you as far as giving you your money back.

I have been a Priceline user for years and now during the COVID-19 pandemic, life is changing and apparently Priceline has no clue. I had a critical trip cancelled due to this crisis. Are they expecting their clients to pay for unused services during this time. They apparently want you to danger yourselves and those around you by forcing or making people to pay for unused servicies. I will be responsible and eat the cost, but again they do not care. I was told due to the contract with the car rental companies there will be no credit. My cfm # is Thrifty reservation via Priceline (Trip Number:**). Thrifty rental car reservation from Wed, Apr 8, 2020 8:30 AM to Sun, Apr 12, 2020 6:30 AM. Confirmation number: **.
I have been disappointed multiple times this year and this is the 3rd strike. Priceline has lost a customer and hopefully others will review and make a similar decision. Do not use Priceline for their policy of not caring for human mankind. They are a noncaring company only caring about themselves and not their lifeline... Their customers. Thank you...

I purchased a hotel and got to the hotel and was meet with bedbugs. I refused to stay there and the hotel stated I would have to request the refund from Priceline. Priceline refused to give me my money back. I did not stay at the hotel and with COVID19. You would think Priceline would be more empathic. Never again. I prefer to book directly with the airline or hotel. That way I don’t have to deal with this no refund policy. They are money suckers.

A few friends booked a hotel almost $300 it cost us for the Toronto hair show this year. We booked with Priceline. Due to the coronavirus the show was cancelled so we called far enough in advance to cancel the room, as we could go (out of our control) they will not refund our room. So now we're out $300. Please do not book with them, they are scammers and only take your money.

Priceline indicated they would follow the airline's policy. When trying to rebook a flight, first the representative said there were no available flights to my destination. When I corrected him as I was on their site, he then insisted that I could only use the ecredit to go to the same location and that was the airline's policy. I called the airline directly, and that was not true. Thankfully, the airline helped me directly!

Let me first start out by saying I am/was an avid Priceline user. I would spend thousands of dollars using them. They allure of “priceline VIP” pricing and “Mobile Deal” always got me to choose them. DO NOT LET THIS GLAMOUR FOOL YOU. They are crooks. The customer service is absolutely terrible, and recently I just found out that they don’t care about their customers. They are a commission based company that care only about the dollar they can make off you.
On March 22nd I booked a room off Priceline for the Marriott Detroit Metro Airport and my card was charged, and my confirmation print out said “paid in full”. When I got to the property the Marriott had not a single clue as to what I was talking about. They did not receive any funds from Priceline. So here I am, with a line as long as one at an amusement park trying to explain that I had paid already, showed my evidence… all to no avail.
After about hours of trying to pull together enough money for what turned out to cost less than what Priceline charged me I finally was able to get in to my room. By then it was so late and having missed my conference call I had to reschedule it for the following day thus spending another 1/2 day rate at $75 the following day just so I could work. I missed my flight which wast too bad on pricing right now and had to stay with a friend in the next town over, due to the fact that because of this mess I no longer had the funds to afford anywhere to stay. The inconvenience of it all was what really upset me.
Today March 24th I called Priceline and told them the story, they called the property and they basically told me that I had paid for my stay. I paid for my stay with Priceline on one card, and paid for the exact same stay with a separate card because this isn’t the first time that this has happened. This exact same thing happened to me in Feb. 2020. I paid Priceline, they were supposed to pay hotel and never did, got to the hotel and the hotel said there was nothing they could do and that I had to pay them directly. That incident took me exactly 30 days to get my funds back on my PayPal card. Priceline called in an “authorization hold”. I called PayPal and they told me that they sent a “courtesy email to them to drop the hold.” But did not release the hold for 30 days.
These are scary times to be completely honest, With this corona-virus taking hold of the world and our economy shattered, it is unfair that companies like Priceline will take advantage of people for a quick buck. It is un American yet sadly in a way, the American way. Something needs to be done, I cannot afford another 30 days to receive my funds back. I have not only wasted my hard earned money during this debacle but my time, my work and my family was affected by this debacle. Priceline or booking.com whichever you go by, Should be ashamed of yourselves.
Speaking with multiple hotel chain customer service individuals I feel obliged to give anyone who takes the time to read this review this advice: DO NOT EVER BOOK THROUGH PRICELINE. There is a website called looknofurther.com and (at least Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, etc) will pricematch anything pricelinee ‘promises’. They will not only honor the price but they will even give you what you ordered through Priceline be it a king room, a corner suite, what have you.

"So you're telling me it's on the invoice I received "after" I made the reservation!" She states yes, So how unfair is this that I didn't even know about a $100 cancellation fee until AFTER the reservation was made. Something needs to be done because I find this very deceitful!!! Priceline has refused to refund the fee stating their non-cancellation policy however the car rental WAS CANCELLED BY BUDGET. I did not use the reservation as I was allowed to cancel and now Priceline will not refund any money. A commission to Priceline may be due however no Budget money was paid and I should get that refunded. I did not contract with Budget and if the cancellation was not allowed Budget should not have allowed the cancellation. Unreasonable response to Covid-19 car rental cancellation. I rented two Thrifty vehicles through Priceline to pickup in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mar.21 and 28. I chose pay the full amount, $644.28 American, at booking. I knew the contract said, no refund if you cancel. My family decided it was very unsafe to travel at this time. I called to cancel the two cars and when I asked for a credit, I was told, the deal between Priceline and Thrifty did not allow for any refund/credit. I think this is very unfair, because: I can't fly because of Covid19. Priceline and Thrifty has taken my money and done nothing for it.
Many companies are showing good customer relations by giving refunds/credits to consumers due to covid19 related cancellations. (Air Canada gave me a full credit. The real estate company in North Carolina, gave me a full credit for one year.) Covid19 goes beyond personal problems that consumers experience. In this very challenging time, demonstrating solidarity (i.e. Priceline being sympathetic) is greatly needed. I think it's fair to expect a more supportive response. Gordon **

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! This company is preying on it's customers because of this virus outbreak. Not only has my travel insurance magically disappeared from my trip in April, which has happened to countless number of people I have talked to, they are changing all my flights causing me to miss the events that I was flying to get to in the first place. When I talk to them about it, they say to call a number. When I call the number, they say they are only dealing with people whose flights leave within 72 hours. Well they changed my flight times to 36 hours later, which means by the time I call 72 hours before my flight, it will actually be 36 hours before my flight. I also have a car rental purchased through them for my original flight, which they also refuse to assist me with.
I just want to cancel my flight so I can purchase a new one directly from the airlines, but I can't even get on the phone with anyone. So at this point, it's either take an entirely different trip than I had planned and miss out on all my meetings, or lose $650. They then try to offload the blame to the airlines and remove themselves from responsibility, and even called me a liar when I said my flight insurance was removed from my flight plan. I will never use Priceline again, they are highly unethical and in this time of crisis, screwing over customers and most likely causing customers who are infected with the virus to travel regardless of not feeling well so that they don't lose money. Priceline is assisting the spread of the coronavirus, not trying to help stem its spread.

I recently purchased a hotel stay for an Orlando trip. I completed the reservation PER PRICELINE REQUEST over the phone. I supplied all my relevant information and asked for a copy of my itinerary and a receipt for payment. I received a link to my itinerary but the itinerary was never populated. I got an error message that the itinerary did not exist. I called customer service, on hold, and then told that unless my issue relates to a trip in the next 72 hours, they are too busy to talk to me. Obviously, this is for a past trip, not a future trip, so I can't get through the voice mail screen. I left voice mail, requesting a "receipt". I was told the itinerary would be sent to the email address affiliated with the trip. Itinerary never arrived. Called again. Repeat multiple times.
I will never use Priceline or booking.com again. This level of post sales support is unconscionable. Obviously they have my email address wrong and keep sending an itinerary to somewhere in space. This is typical of the gig economy, let's do business without any human interface and if you are one step outside of the norm for interactions on their chat line, you are screwed.

I am very unhappy with Priceline's customer service. During this uncertain time with the Corona Virus spreading throughout the world, Priceline is making it difficult for customers to refund their flight. I purchased a flight for March 18th a week before the flight for a business conference. The business goes once a year and does not use travel any other time of year. The conference was cancelled due to the COVID-19 rules of no gatherings of over 50 people 3 days after I bought my flight. I called Priceline immediately to cancel my flight and was told if my flight was not in 72 hours then I would not receive a callback and to call when it is 72 hours or less away.
So I called 3 days before my flight and was told I would get a call within 23 hours. Then I called 26 hours later and was told I would get a call 36 hours later. At this point my flight was less than 24 hours away so I put in an online cancel request. I received a phone call at 8:30pm on March 17th, 12 hours before my flight. I was told by the Priceline representative that I could not get a refund for my flight even though there are travel bans and a virus spreading across the United States. The rep said all I could get was a credit toward the airline the flight was for until 12/31/2020. I told the rep that I purchased the flight on a business card as it is a business trip and this is the only trip the business expenses each year so there would not be another flight scheduled in 2020. He said that he could not do anymore and that the credit had to be used toward another flight.
Any and every business should warrant refunds during this hard time for everyone. I would not have cancelled my flight if the conference were still happening. If a representative of Priceline sees this please contact me immediately. I was not able to get a manager of the rep. I was sent to a phone line that rang non-stop for 20 minutes.

We were not. They tried to get us to pay $25 per day for a transponder to navigate toll roads. We refused the transponder. They offered us insurance (at exorbitant rates). We declined, as we had our own insurance. We were obliged to provide proof of insurance. We did.
Regardless, they did not honor the quoted Priceline price. Instead, because we declined their insurance, they tacked on a $5.99 per day surcharge. We appealed through Priceline. Priceline simply told us, “Sorry, it’s your problem.” We have since initiated a dispute with the credit card company. We are certainly never going to rent from NextCar again. I was finally connected to the service line after repeating "operator" at the automated system, only to be told I would be called back in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, I got a call back, I mentioned I would like to cancel my rental car reservation, and the service rep was about to transfer me back to Hertz, but my "NO NO NO Wait!" caught her, and I told her they said Priceline had to make the cancellation. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, and finally told that this had to be escalated, and I would have an answer in 48 to 72 hours.
This is completely nuts. There was nothing special about my reservation at all, but it everyone was acting as if this was the first time someone has tried to cancel a Hertz reservation made via Priceline. I have to believe they are simply giving me the run around trying to avoid the cancellation. DO NOT make Hertz reservation through Priceline, if anything happens their computerized phone systems and service reps will spin you until you fall over senseless. Crossing my fingers for 72 hours.

Dealing with Priceline was horrible and very stressful. There was virtually no way to contact a live person. I had a car reserved to pick up when I arrived from the USA at Cancun Mexico. Not only was there no car, none of the rental car people had ever heard of the company printed on my confirmation. I was stranded. The end result was that I had to rent a car at the airport, resulting in 1: paying an extra $78 for insurance over what Priceline had quoted me and 2: wasting an hour and a half getting a new rental car. This resulted in my having to drive in the dark (which I don't even do in my hometown, much less a foreign country with poor street signs and poorer lighting. It was a horrible experience - I wish I had read all the negative reviews before booking with Priceline. I'm still waiting on the refund for the non-existent car.

WORST customer service I have ever encountered. Not only do you have to wait on hold up to 30 minutes but they won't provide you with a detailed receipt so that you can be reimbursed for business travel. Their receipt will only show total nights and fees but in order to be reimbursed by your business you need to show an itemized list of daily rates and fees. They claim they do not have this capability. I write invoices for work all the time. It is not difficult. My hotel said if Priceline called them up with the rate they charged me they would be happy to provide me with a receipt that reflected that rate but they refuse to do that as well. So now I am out big $$$ and they don't care. I will be giving poor reviews everywhere I can find.

No response to the solution. They were supposed to call me within the hour because it was marked as an Urgent response. I never received it.
1 day later, they send a email that the liability does not come included and that's my resolution. For 2 days, I could not get in contact with them because they seemed to have blocked my number. When I finally get in contact with them, they told me the person over the phone did not tell me that! This is a horrible company and no one should use them. Because they do not honor what they say. This is the second time they did that. I RECOMMEND not using priceline. Because they are a bunch of liars.

Booked flight through Priceline a few weeks back. Unfortunately I got a fever and cold two days prior to the trip. In the wake of Corona virus threat, I tried to reschedule or get a voucher for rescheduling. I was not asking for money back. The customer service is the worst! The rep said that their policy does not allow it. First of all she falsely encouraged me to call the airline directly saying that they would be able to help me. Consumers please note that unless you book directly with the airline, they do nothing. Lesson learnt. Furthermore, when I said that I did not want to board the flight in a sick state, she said that if I showed up sick I would be quarantined for fourteen days! Appalling! Of course I know the protocol. So no help whatsoever, no resolution, and no problem telling me that I would be quarantined. Do not waste time and money, book directly with the airline.

DON’T BOOK with Priceline!!! They put money before human lives and safety!! We booked two nights via Priceline. As the daily Coronavirus cases jumped from 33 to 44 today per NBC New York today, we decided to cancel the reservation. We contacted Priceline after long wait and was told to contact the hotel to cancel directly. After numerous calls with no one answering, I finally reached a lady named Jennifer. She told me to contact Priceline because the hotel didn’t charge our credit card. For next 4-5 hours, I was like a ping pong ball being kicked back and forth between Priceline and the hotel. I was asked me to send them the meeting cancellation proof, which I did. However, the Priceline and the hotel staff lied repeatedly that I didn’t send them the proof. I offered to send the email directly to Priceline. They refused to accept it.
So tired and frustrated by Priceline’s different staff telling me the same lies, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After long wait, a lady named Erin with employee ID. ** (she refused to give me her real name) finally talked to me. Unfortunately she told me the same lies that her staff had been telling me that I didn’t send them the proof of the meeting cancellation. I offered her to send the email directly to her as I offered to send it to other Priceline staff whom I have spoken to, she gave me a fake email: BACRFAXBACRFax@email.priceline.com, since the email was undeliverable. I asked her to provide her supervisor’s name and she refused to do so and said that she is in the Philippines!!!! I have always used Expedia.com and have never had any issues, The bottom line is Priceline put money before customer satisfaction and in this case, human lives and safety!!! DON’T book anything from Priceline!!! I learned my lesson!!

I booked a hotel reservation at Disney World through Priceline. I needed to add 1 person to my reservation to make a total of 2 people. I talked to 5 (FIVE!) people at Priceline including Beth, Ashley, and Stefie to make this happen, including a supervisor (Andrea). The first Priceline rep told me that he talked to Disney directly and said it was impossible to add another guest and that I had to book another hotel room for that guest. I spoke to Disney myself who said that this was common procedure and happens all the time and that it was 100% possible to add a guest. Disney explained that since I booked through Priceline, it was Priceline that had to authorize this. I then spoke to several more Priceline customer service reps over the course of several hours who all said that this was impossible, it was my fault, and overall gave me a huge attitude about the situation.
I finally spoke to Andrea, the supervisor, and she was able to call Disney directly (which apparently was impossible to do before) and added the guest to my reservation. I asked for some type of compensation for all the hassle I had been through and she was unable to do anything except give me a 5% off coupon for my next booking, which I think is totally unacceptable. The whole situation was a nightmare and you should think twice about booking through Priceline.

The reviews were deceptive as well, the written comments did not match the ratings given. There were multiple 10 ratings that contained comments such as sheets were not changed from last guest and toothpaste from last guest was still on the sink. I called multiple times within minutes of reviewing the booking and the reviews and I was told there was nothing they can do. I was told to go and it should be fine, if it is not fine I should address it with the hotel. I didn’t even ask for a refund. I just asked them to change the reservation to a true 8+ rated hotel as advertised.
Priceline would not budge and I spoke to 4 different representatives. The reviews on Priceline were much more flattering as well then the reviews on other sites, this hotel had MULTIPLE complaints about roaches, no hot water and blood on the sheets. Priceline is the worst company I have dealt with in recent memory, perhaps ever. I booked a room for my wife at the beginning of March, at the end of January and received immediate confirmation that I had a room. Two weeks prior to the trip my wife called the hotel to ask for two beds as she is going with a friend. The hotel had zero record of us. We call Priceline, they verify with the hotel that there is zero record of us and they promise to resolve the issue in 4-7 business days. On Saturday I get an e-mail to confirm that they have gotten us a reservation with a new confirmation number. I call the hotel to confirm this reservation number and the hotel has that reservation, but it's for a different person, on a different day.
So again I call Priceline and they tell me the department that handles this situation is closed and that they will look at the issue on Monday. At 1:00PM on Monday, having not heard anything, I call in again and they tell me that they were unable to confirm the reservation and that they have a note to call on Wednesday. (2 days before the check-in date) I tell them this is unacceptable, and they attempt to confirm the room for a 5th time and, SURPRISE, are unable to do so. I'm promised a resolution by the following day. That evening, getting nervous, I simply ask for a refund and they tell me they're unable to refund me because it has to be confirmed by the hotel that has zero record of me. All the while the customer services representatives are unable to send me any documentation that they're having a problem.
This company at best has no idea what they're doing and they have not evolved from the late 90s whenever they got their start. At worst they know exactly what they're doing and they make sure to not give you any information that could be used as evidence for a charge back. NEVER use them. I would recommend taking a cardboard box with you and sleeping in that before I'd recommend trying to book a hotel with this company.

I set it for 9 pm as our flight left at 10 pm. I would drop it off by 8 pm was my intent.
They said my drop off had to be at noon, which would have left us at the airport for 10 hours. My receipt clearly says I get the car till 9 pm. I go back to the front desk and ask, "Is this a hotel Hilton affiliated?" They told me that they were not. I then called Priceline back on same number I used to make the reservation and I received the run around from someone that was telling me I could be reimbursed, but I had to first go to the local 7eleven to purchase a gift card in which they would then reimburse me through the card. Basically this was an obvious scam.
I called back till I finally spoke to someone who seemed to be Priceline associate. They tell me that I can not be reimbursed because I agreed to a non refundable booking. I said yes I agreed to a non refundable booking to a HILTON affiliated hotel; rep said this is a Hilton affiliated booking and I agreed. Instead I was wrongly booked into a hotel I did not ask for.
In the end, I was not refunded my money even though I pursued a refund through endless channels for 5 months. They strung me along till finally they claim they can't make refund. That night after coming back to the room, there were cockroaches all over the counter. We had to kill them and we even took pictures of them. Disgusting! We were at this point so nauseous just being in that room, but still the manager did not care. We paid $1700 for the room alone! Since it was not per person charge but per room via Priceline. Why would anyone want to stay at a disgusting infested place with cockroaches in a single bed room when we pre booked a double bed with a nasty manager?
After this horrendous stay, we got back home and immediately was in contact with Priceline for a partial refund. Not a full refund, but a partial one! You would think that a big company like Priceline wouldn’t mind paying out a customer a few hundred dolllars to make up for the awful situation. They didn’t let us change the hotel when we just arrived and we then had to endure the worst vacation of our lives. I have been emailing and calling back and forth with Priceline who has been “waiting for a response from the hotel”, for a month now. It is obvious that no one wants to deal with this, they just want to take your money and offer you cockroaches in your room and lies! I’ve booked with Priceline before and never had an issue but this has just been a crazy experience that no one should have to have with their hard earned money.

I tried using Priceline's virtual chat and received no help from Zenaida - who may or may not have been real. Before and after the virtual chat, I tried every customer service number I could find. During multiple calls, I kept repeating "agent" and "representative" and "customer service". I repeatedly received "Sorry, Please repeat." I wanted to make sure if the flights were booked that I could cancel them in their 24 hour time frame which expires tomorrow. They were rude and terrible. They don't look at their site apparently. Don't ever go to that hotel and I just went on there to write a review and Priceline charging $200. The room is unlivable. It is ridiculous. I will never use them again. It has bad odor. The cable is actually duct taped into the wall. There's two towels for two people one washcloth. You have to ask for shampoo. We asked Priceline if we could change the reservation to the following night. Priceline, although sympathizing with our plight, would not grant us the request. We even called the hotel to see if they would help us out, but they said it had to be Priceline’s decision. Needless to say, we lost our prepaid reservation. This is not the first time we have been duped by them, so my advice to anyone would be to use this website at your own risk.

It was handled very quickly and an email sent with explanation, however I was aghast that Priceline and the hotel - not sure where the charge came from - was almost 50% of the hotel room! Priceline offers an express deal that is more like a game of Russian roulette. So my wife and I tried it out not knowing about the hotels beforehand. We trusted that Priceline vetted its hotels when you are entering the parameters of what you're looking for and include that you have 3 small children under the age of 5. Anyway we stated that we’d like a 3 star hotel in Phoenix to crash for the evening and the hotel Priceline selected after we committed to purchasing the deal was the Ramada south Tempe. At first glance I was satisfied however once I looked at the reviews and nearby businesses I wondered what I subjected my family to. The Ramada parking lot is shared by a strip club and a ** dispensary and located right next to the freeway.
Nearly 80 percent of the reviews are negative, mostly saying it’s unsafe and unsuitable environment for families. Within 30 minutes of booking I called Priceline to ask if I could be moved to another hotel in the area, I even stated that I would pay for an upgrade and escalated my concerns to management. Priceline coldly offered no options or solutions. Priceline needs to be held accountable to vetting their product, they knew I had a family of younger children and sold me a hotel that put my family in harm's way. I’m very disappointed in Priceline and will advocate against their services.

I am a frequent traveler. I often book with secondary sites to get the best deal possible. I have rented hotel rooms from Expedia, Hotels.com, Hotwire, Booking.com and others alike. I have never had an experience like this. I am traveling to Atlanta next month. We have to be at the airport at 5:30 in the AM. I was looking for a hotel in Atlanta. That is what I put in my search bar. I went to the pricebreaker page, and it was a hotel for $59. I was excited to see such a cheap rate. I had already looked other places and this was the cheapest I had found.
It plainly states you will get one of these rooms. I go to all three and make sure that if I get any of the three I will be happy. Then I proceed. Once on the confirmation page, the third hotel is switched out and replaced with a hotel in Norcross, which is in the opposite direction I live in and still 38 minutes from the airport! No I didn’t notice the change, but I have never experienced this before. I called and told the person I felt betrayed and misled. How can you change the choices after I have made my decision? I recently booked a 3-day hotel using Priceline, which was the first and will be the last experience using this company. I researched prices via Expedia, Trivago, Booking.com, and Priceline all at the same time and found all the prices comparable around the $660- $680 price point. For Expedia, Booking.com, and Trivago it clearly stated beside the price either 'CAD' or 'C' - however on Priceline it just showed the final price without indication of currency beside the price before confirming. Because all the prices were around the same price point, and when you go through Trivago showing "C $150" (CANADIAN CURRENCY) and click the Priceline option which just showed in Canadian dollars, I would expect to be paying Canadian dollars, however the Priceline website changes to USD and is only displayed in the top right corner of the website, not beside the price which is still reflected at $150 - matching what Trivago just advertised in Canadian currency.
I didn't realize I was paying in USD when I confirmed our reservation with Priceline for the same room (1 King, lake view, north tower for 2 guests) when the same room and hotel were advertised around the same price in CAD on other sites until I saw my credit card statement a week later and was charged over $300 more for the exchange.
When I called customer service I got the run around from every agent who were more interested in telling me how I was in the wrong, USD is clearly shown at the time of booking, and there wasn't anything they were willing to do. Even when I went back to all the sites I researched before booking, Priceline is the ONLY site among its competitors that does not clearly state the currency beside the price for booking. It's hidden at the top of the page, and at the bottom in fine print - not right beside the price you're paying. I find this incredibly misleading and the website is not user friendly, especially when you click from one site showing the price in CAD and then Priceline shows the same price but now in USD.
Even when I looked at manually changing the currency to CAD on Priceline's website and searched the same room I booked, it was over $100 cheaper than what I paid in USD after the exchange. When I explained this to the Supervisor with Priceline's "Customer Service" they still insisted there was nothing they could do. Worst customer "service" experience and hotel booking I have had and will never use Priceline again. Even now with recognition I need to pay more attention to new booking websites to ensure the currency I am paying is what I intend to pay, the lack of customer service from Priceline to offer any kind of resolution has turned me off from ever wanting to support this company in the future or recommend them to any family or friends to save them the hassle and frustration.

It said I was a Loyal Customer and VIP. I called and asked a rep about this as I couldn't find any reason why or why I didn't see this cheaper rate to begin with (I was logged into my account the entire time), but the rep could not even tell me why or what happen.
After a bit, I called again and again tried to get a reason of why I got this new rate and why I couldn't get my lower rate? Priceline has a policy on if you find the same room / hotel at a lower price within 24 hours they'll give you the difference. They said I however can't use that, because the lower rate is not a public rate (it's just for me). Again I asked why I didn't get this lower rate to begin with then? No answers.
Keep in mind, this new cheaper rate says nothing like, "Thanks for booking your room at $140, you can book ANOTHER room for $108!" I could understand something like that or if the new $108 rate was the next day, but immediately AFTER booking my room at one rate, you're going to give me a $108 rate just for me? We had prebooked and paid for a rental car through Priceline, using one of their links from Europcar. We were to pick up the car in Salzburg Austria. Our flight was delayed, we arrived Salzburg at 7:15 pm. The website for this location clearly advertises open until 11 pm. When we arrived at the rental desk, it was locked up tight. A rep. from a nearby rental company said it closed at 7. We had just had a 33 hour flight with delays, we were so done. To find no access to our car was horrible.
We ended up out of desperation renting from another company, best cost we could get was €120, for one day. We drove over an hour to our hotel, then drove back to the airport the next day to finally get our prepaid vehicle. Despite repeated attempts to get the €120 reimbursement from Priceline, they are stonewalling us. They keep saying Europcar closes at 7, but in spite of sending them screenshots, they will not budge.

Recently, for at least the second or third time, I had a very horrible experience with Priceline's Airline Customer Service department. The situation: Last year, I purchased round-trip tickets for my girlfriend and I from Chicago to Jackson, Mississippi. Then, right before Thanksgiving 2019, I was entered into the hospital because of severe stomach pain. Consequently, I canceled my tickets and requested the ability to reschedule the round-trip tickets for a later day & date in 2020.
Yesterday, I contacted Priceline wanting to reschedule the two round-trip tickets. It was told to me that the total cost would be approximately $900.00!!!! (with fees added on). Do you know that if I purchased two BRAND NEW round-trip tickets from Priceline, it would have been only $700.00?? Why would ANYONE want to pay MORE for 2 rescheduled tickets when they can get 2 brand new round-trip tickets for LESS MONEY?? I called Delta Airlines customer service directly, and was able to get two round-trip tickets for only $130.00!!!! I have now lost interest in reserving flights through Priceline any longer. I have had enough of them.

I loved booking hotels through Priceline and I used them religiously for almost 20 years. I loved it so much I would even book trips for friends and family, because they knew I would get the best deal for them and I loved getting those deals. After two times of having issues with Priceline, I am done. They do not care that I have been a loyal customer as long as I have. They do not care at all. The first time I tried to book a hotel and received the message that it did not go through and I would have to try again. I did not get an email confirmation or anything. I waited 10 minutes and tried again...for the exact same hotel...on the exact same date. It went through. I ended up getting two confirmation emails after several minutes indicating the first booking actually went through.
I immediately called to let them know the issue. They indicated they would cancel the one booking. They did not. I got to the hotel and explained to them what happened. They made a note that Priceline was supposed to cancel the other room and I did not use it. The customer service rep for the hotel gave me her name and contact info. Priceline still would not cancel and give me my money back because the reservation had already passed. I spent hours on the phone with them that I was supposed to be spending with family I was visiting out of state, because I did not want to waste more of that time I let it go.
The second time they would not help me was when I arrived to the hotel I reserved in July in MD and the room did not have air conditioning even though it clearly said in the room description that it would, took a picture and sent that to them. I requested I be booked at another local hotel even though it was close to midnight and I was traveling with my kids. They would not. They kept telling me the hotel had agreed to give me money back because their air conditioning was broken. The hotel staff, of course, told me it would have to go through Priceline because I did not pay them. Hours of wasted time, back and forth, and plenty of evidence they had not held up their end of the contract and I still got no refund, no sleep, and it negatively affected my trip with my family. So, I am done with Priceline for good. Their customer service is so terrible it makes my blood boil. I really want to give them 1 Star, but gave 2 given the years without problems.

I called them 2 literally two minutes after receiving my confirmation. They did absolutely nothing to help me, nor fix my problem. I use Priceline on a monthly basis, actually very often. This is the price before taxes and fees. When I contacted customer support, the informed me that the nightly rate that displays at the final check out is the rate and not the displayed rate on their site. This is very misleading and if you're not paying attention, can easily think you're getting a room at one rate and then charges a different one.

I took a screenshot which showed the price of the same room and same day costing less at about $687 CAD. Although it is not a huge difference between the two, it is the principle that they should honor their own system of policies. I also see on this website another consumer complaining about the same thing and yet the stars of rating is at a 5! I HIGHLY DOUBT this consumer would have posted a 5-star review. Update on 04/28/2020: We make a purchase on 08/01/2020 in the Priceline website through express deals that promised us rooms in a 3-star hotel with double beds and equivalent to our searches on the website and we concluded the purchase believing these promises that left us very frustrated when we arrived at this hotel and started the check-in process at dawn on the 14th of January.
We had paid for the reservation for 2 rooms in this hotel, which when we entered the entrance to the external part was already under renovation, and then when we arrived at the counter for assistance, we were told that each room would only have 1 double bed and no 2 as on the receipt and these are very small and different from those shown in the photo in the Priceline express deal, and so when we were told that we were already very dissatisfied because they still made us pay for 1 extra room because we were in 6 people the way we had made the search on the website of the Priceline from which they offered the express deal saying that this hotel would accommodate us 2 rooms with Double beds.
After that, our frustrations on the trip just began and we could verify that we had been victims of fraud because we asked for the cancellation by phone on the same night for the Priceline and the same told us that they would only cancel if the hotel authorized it and even then without power supplying the needs that we believed we had bought refused to authorize and as it was already quite late and we are very tired we chose to pay 1 more room and remain so until the day started and we could seek some other solution.
But when we entered our rooms we were able to verify even more how we were being deceived, since the rooms including what they made us pay as extra, besides not having the features that were sold to us as Double Beds with plasma TV and heater/air conditioners that worked, were very dirty with no hygiene in the bathrooms, with the wall papers loosening and without any conditions that anyone could remain in peace with the conditions of a 3 star hotel. So we had to sleep with our only 2 year old daughter who, after this episode, still got the flu, needing medical treatment due to staying in this hotel with these conditions with us.
Then from 3 am - 9 am on the 14th of January we were forced to stay in a location that we bought and paid for completely deceived and so we tried in every way to request cancellation through many, many calls and chats between the Priceline and conversations with the hotel service without any consideration and respect on their part so that the cancellation was considered and we could leave the hotel without any dispute.
And after all this without any answer we decided through the guidance of a lawyer to take photos to show the conditions that this was in a dispute on the credit card and leave the hotel even though they were refusing to provide us with the discharge, saying that the Priceline that would provide us with that. So we booked and paid for another hotel called TRYP by Wyndham New York City Times Square South through Expedia and that was finally how we bought and expected quality and so we left that lying hotel on January 14 between 9 am-10 am after countless discussions at counter for cancellation.
I asked the dispute along with the credit card as soon as I returned the trip and the amount was refunded to me just 2 months later and now it was charged again on my invoice claiming that this disgusting and lying hotel provided proof of our stay since we arrived not staying even 1 day and so when calling Bank of America I was instructed to send the evidence of all this embarrassment and deception that we went through on our trip for believing in a dishonest company like Priceline that after several previous airline tickets without problems with it made us go through this in our first purchase of hotel reservation and thus losing our consideration and confidence to the point that we will never again make any type of purchase or transactions through this website.
Original Review: I was looking for a booking in New York for a minimum 3 star hotel and when I was about to buy a hotel I chose on the Priceline website came an offer of Express Deal assuring me it would be for a hotel similar to I was looking for and so I decided to accept and when I completed the payment I could verify that the reservation they gave me was in a very old hotel with bad reviews and very poor service quality.
So I contacted priceline where she told me that I could not make the cancellation because it was an express deal and so I tried to contact the hotel asking for the cancellation and even knowing that I was dissatisfied with the booking I also did not want to cancel so I returned contact with priceline calmly trying to resolve the situation and yet priceline did not want to refund this fake announcement. I will try to contact my credit card (as Priceline's own clerk told me with disregard that I could do whatever I wanted because they would not repay) to open the claim and this is the last one I made purchases by Priceline.

I've been using Priceline for over 20+ years and I know for a fact that the quality of service provided has gone way downhill. I've had many problems with Priceline purchases in the last 2 years: Express Hotels going through without clicking a buy button. I may be at a brink of purchasing but never purchased. I don't even know I purchased until an email is received saying that I purchased. Customer service cannot and will not help. My most recent issue was just last weekend. I bought a 2 queen + sofa bed. Went to the hotel and they said it doesn't exist. I call Priceline and was on the phone arguing with them to help. they offer relocation, cancellation but I mention that I have 2 adults, 2 kids. Priceline guarantees 2 adults and that's it even if hotel allows children. Who books 2 queens and a sofabed for 2 adults?? Because of this, they would not offer relocation or cancellation.
Again, I paid an extra $20 per night to get extra room with a sofabed and all they can offer me was a 2 queen room. Priceline basically threw their hands in the air. In the end, I was left to deal with the hotel myself who comped me an extra room because of the Priceline mistake. SHAME ON PRICELINE. This is definitely my last place to go to, if ever again. They need to do better, but it seems they are happy with themselves scamming innocent people of their money. I have yet to have an issue with Hotwire. I've been with them also for 15-20 years. Priceline needs to re-evaluate their business practice. AND, VIP means nothing! Don't fall for that bull.

Searched Priceline for a room (4) adults in May. We're a special needs family so we try to plan ahead. You can't gamble. Our searched recommended Priceline's "Price Breaker." Here are (3) hotels and you'll get one of the three for "$." There were two options that looked extremely good, but one of them was more "higher end" and we're traveling with kids so we opted for the hotel that we thought fit us more for this travel excursion. My red flag was that one asked if we wanted a single or double bed, however the other did not. It made me a little skeptical but I double checked my search,
(4) Adults, I checked all the information to ensure it was correct, and felt confident in booking. I screenshot everything & saved a pdf of the search to cover me. Sure enough when the hotel booked it stated only good for "up to 2 adults." I didn't think anything about it so I called Priceline. Their response: All of our hotel rooms are only guaranteed for 2 adults (double occupancy). Anything above that, the hotel has the discretion to force you to book another room or to up-charge you. I told them "So let me understand this.
I searched for a hotel room for 4 adults, but you only offer a guarantee to cover 2 of them." So our choices are now to pay an extra charge with the hotel to get double beds and to cover the kids, or to lose our reservation $ completely. My advice if traveling with more then 2 people, you're gambling with money and your peace of mind. This is the "bait and switch." It's all around poor business. This 100% shows they are not family or group friendly.

We woke up the day of our holiday hotel reservation at a large Galveston hotel, with a sore throat and flu/cold symptoms. My 13 y/o son did not feel great yesterday, but we hoped it was just allergies; then I got it today, fever and all! I called Priceline to see if we could just change the dates because we did not want to go to the hotel sick, exposing others to the flu plus not feeling well enough to attend all of the hotel's holiday displays and activities. I called Priceline who told me they could not change the dates but if the hotel "allowed" it they could cancel and refund.
Then they claimed that the hotel would not ever answer the phone, so I called the hotel reservation line, then called Priceline on a 3 way call. Well, then it was pretty obvious that both the hotel and Priceline, were not being honest. They blamed one another that they could not let us change to a new date and if we canceled, they could not say that I would be granted a whole or partial refund. They totally talked around in circles for a while pretending that it was the other party that caused the lack of resolution/refund guarantee; and in fact, there was not any resolution. So instead of allowing them to take my $450 and rebook with a new guest and get double the $, I kept the reservation and gifted it to a family member who will really enjoy the hotel's holiday activities.
I will never book anything on Priceline again; and not due to the actual policies, as much as, the dishonesty of the customer service person who was carrying out company policy which is obviously short sighted greed. I prefer to do business with reasonable, honest, customer focused companies for travel plans. They were going to make the $ either way because there is not a chance on earth that they would not have booked that room again today and probably for twice the money. I really would have preferred to reschedule and not have the refund because the trip was going to be a treat for our family. Oh well, live and learn and the family members who are going are wonderful and they will have a great time!

After my dates were changed to five days instead of the 11 days I was paying for I asked for a refund. Neither the rep from dollar nor the rep from Priceline were able to agree on who was responsible for any money being refunded. Why would I ask to have 5 days with the car for the same price as 11?
I was told that I would receive a response within 10 days regarding my issue. It has now been 18 days and I have not received a response. I called into the company to inquire about the resolution and I was passed from representative to representative without any resolution given. I was told that after another 3 to 5 business days I would receive a response. My trip starts in a week and I don’t have time to wait for this kind of response after giving them 10 days and it still being 18 with no response. Stood in line (only 4th) for over 45 minutes. Was greeted by a unhappy woman. Gave her my driver’s license and credit card and reservation information. She then told me I still had to pay the larger price!?
Now to the insurance. I wanted to use my own, gave her my insurance card. Not good enough. She wanted my Declension page from the insurance company. Who carries that with you?? She then told me to get my insurance company on the phone and have them email it to me. WHAT! I had full coverage but she said it was not good enough. It did not cover down time if the car was in an accident and had to be fixed? I have never heard of this? Charging me $15.00 a day for that. So instead of a bill for $145. It was up to $272.98. I had no choice but to Agee or I would have been stuck.
The contract they make you sign states that you will be charged a cleaning fee of up to 150.00 extra if you don’t bring the car back clean of “excessive dirt”, rock, sand from the beach, before returning it. What! And read very carefully the re-fueling option you have to sign! It’s ridiculous! Bring it back the with the same amount of gas. Of course, no problems. Now this what gets crazy. You have to provide a copy of the fuel receipt dated within 12 hours of return and within 10 miles of the rental location or pay an estimated refueling fee based on the fuel cost of $6.99. And this is just the highlight. I was there for 3 hours! If it sounds too good to be true, It is!!!

I've used Priceline for many years and had no issues with them. This year I've used them twice for car rentals and been screwed over by them twice. It appears they are starting to employ deceptive business tactics at the cost to the consumer. The first time this year I booked a car rental in Chicago. I was quoted a price and that is what I expected to pay. My flight was delayed and I was in a hurry to pick up my car and unfortunately I did not pay attention to the contract I signed at the rental car company. My mistake but there is a pattern here. The price on the rental was almost 3 TIMES what I was signed up for. I did dispute this with Priceline and the car rental company. I had documentation showing what I was supposed to pay and what I got charged but I never did receive a full refund for the difference.
Just recently I rented again. I was sure to pick a rental that was payable the day I rented the car not at the time of the signing up for it on the web. I had problems with the web page and refreshed. I ended up with a rental that was payable immediately. Only I didn't know it. It was hidden in the small print on the page. When I immediately realized the mistake, I called Priceline. No one I talked to could rectify the situation. They just didn't have the option to do so. I had to call the car rental company immediately to get it cancelled. Still Priceline charged me for the rental even though it was cancelled with the car company.
I realize in each case if I had been more vigilant on my part, I would not have gotten into such a situation. When I've made mistakes in the past with priceline or there was a mistake on their part they were quick to rectify it. It's why I kept coming back, now it appears their business model no longer allows their customer service reps to rectify the situation, Even escalating the problem to supervisors was of no use.
