I stayed at Thai Motel 6 due to it being the closest to my out hardship of the passing of my two sisters. I had extended my reservation that was at a rate of $53.00 per night but found when it was charged it had been way higher than that by over $20.00. When I asked the young lady at the front desk she explained that the rates change on their own. I was confused because it was not a new reservation but just an added night. The manager rudely interrupted our peaceful conversation and rudely stated "if you don't like it you can leave". I stated "What? The room had already been paid for. What are you talking about?" She then replied "I'm calling the police." I then replied "Ok call the police. I have nothing to hide."
She had horrible manners. In fact is a complete liar. I said I would be waiting for the police... and called corporate customer care, put her on speaker. They made a formal complaint #**. The manager stated I made a huge scene in front of other guests. There was no one in the office and I never raised my voice. She also stated she placed me on a do not rent list. Her incompetent manner was unmerited. At no point was I ever nasty or any of what she stated. I requested in my formal complaint that the video be reviewed to show her manner. THIS WAS DISCRIMINATION AND COMPLETE HARASSMENT AND I'M SEEKING LEGAL ACTION. Her actions not only upset my family but caused unnecessary stress during our loss.

I made reservations for 2 rooms for Oct. 21-23. or arrival the amount was higher than I was told on the phone not much but it's the principal & if they do this to everyone they can make a lot of extra money. The room was not very clean when I pulled back the covers there was a long black hair. Our room was not cleaned the next day. We will never stay there again.

I normally choose Motel 6 for a couple reasons. The price and they allow dogs no extra charge. So when my husband asked me to find a room near Donaldsonville, I started my hunt for a room. Since the flooding in Louisiana, many people were out of a home. FEMA was taking over and placing the families in any motel they could find available. Long story short, the closest town with an available room was Thibodaux, LA. I noticed a motel that had just switched from Quality Inn & Suites, to Motel 6. The price was reasonable, so I reserved a room for a week. My husband was not thrilled about the hour long drive from the motel to work he was going to have to make daily, but it would have to do. Originally the price was going to be $434. I used my credit card to reserve the room. So that Monday morning we made the 4.5 hour drive from TX to LA. I was unsure about if they would let me check in.
But the lady didn't seem to be worried about the fact that I was 6 hours early for check in. I was happy about that. Then she told me that it was already paid for and handed me my key and rushed me out the door. I found that very odd, since my card did not have nearly enough money to cover the room charges. I was not ready to argue it at 5 am. So I started unloading my things from the truck. When I opened the door to our room, I was very surprised. It was very big. At that point I had no complaints. It was a downstairs room that had a large pool right outside when you opened the door. Sounds great... right? No. The fact that the lady who checked me in, said it was paid for already, worried me. I didn't have that much money on my card and really didn't want to deal with the overdraft fees. So I hopped online and checked my transactions. No charge.
So the next morning I tracked down the manager and asked to speak with her. She pulled me into her office (I can hardly call it an office) and had me explain what had happened. I barely got through the first 2 words when some girl comes walking in. She was introduced as the manager’s assistant. I'm not one to judge, but you do not wear heals, tank top, short shorts, hair bigger than an 80s rock band, and a nose ring to work unless you are working at a bar. It was completely inappropriate. Not to mention her boyfriend was only feet behind her. I ignored the situation, and tried to continue resolving the issue. I think I got 5 words out before again I was interrupted by the manager who started rambling on about... honestly she spoke so fast I couldn't understand what she was saying. At that point I knew I was getting nowhere fast. So I let her know my husband would be in at about 7 pm from work.
At that point I would come back to the lobby and pay the balance. Again she rambled on about nonrelated crap. I also let her know I would like to only be charged the weekly rate since I knew they had one. She said “Fine, but I have to charge you for another night since check-in is at 3 pm, not 5 am.” I said fine and left. True to my word, at 7 pm I was back in the lobby ready to pay for the room. The price had dropped from $434 to $316.26. It’s only day 4 out of 7.
For the past 3 mornings, I've had to listen to the maids argue loudly outside the room. I've heard many guests complain that things are missing or the maids didn't even knock before entering their room. I even heard one maid holler across the hall that she had looked through the peephole into the room and saw no one was inside, so they could go in. I was horrified. Never again will I book my stay here at this Motel 6. They need to get a grip on their employees or just fire them and get new ones. They are giving Motel 6 a very bad reputation. Especially for being newly opened. Never again. MOTEL 6 YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THIS.

160 E Calle Primera, San Ysidro, 92173, CA. Was the worst experience I ever had. I drive from Vegas to San Diego come tired. And the girl in the reception was rude and take her too long to give me the room. Me, my sister and her son. Was near her and she gave me the room key and a parking permit and she also said that she put the information of my car in the computer "so you good to park anywhere you want." So I park my car for one night and then I go to SeaWorld then I back and night after they tow my car. When I asked what happened to my car. They been lie to me and been really rude to me. And told me "Oh it's your problem. You should put a permit in the front of your car." And I told them "What??? Nobody explained me that." So I spend half day to get the car back and paid 400$ for the tow. And it wasn't the end of this nightmare.
I told her "it was your fault." So first she said "I will check my camera and if I see that the mistake is ours I pay you back all the money of the tow." One more day pass she said she watched it and there is no sound in the security camera so she can't tell if her employee did or did not explain how the parking work. And she told me later she will make it cheaper so later I paid to tow truck 189$ but still I'm not supposed to pair it. In the end she gave me voucher to stay in any Motel 6 for one night no matter the price. I'm not happy with this Motel 6 stuff, its rude service, bad and wifi not free. I don't recommend to anyone to use this motel.

When I got to the hotel, my queen size bed turned into a double bed. The light above the sink had no light and to make things worse you couldn't call to complain because the phone in the room was not working... I went back to the office. They wanted me to pay for an upgraded room... The next day I went back to see when I can get someone to see about the problems... By 1p.m my boyfriend went down and was told that they told me someone had to be in the room... They couldn't come in unless someone was there... Needless to say I had appts but when I got back they had come in to clean the room... I wasn't there then and still no one fix the issues of my room... When I checked out it was still not handled... The only Motel 6 I will stay at again will be in Destin... Y'all could learn from them!!!

I had been assaulted and my car was stolen in the parking lot of Motel 6. Bruised and shaken I came inside the Motel 6 lobby on Edes in East Oakland near freeway. I ask if someone could call 911 for me or can I use their phone to call 911. I was told by Allison who is guest services manager there, that I needed to leave the building. If I didn't have a room there I would need to leave. I asked her if I could just use the phone to call 911. She told me no and that I would need to get out and use the phone outside. She was very rude and unhelpful. I would never use or recommend anyone to stay there.

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Springfield, OH #4862 on 10/07/2016 to 10/08/2016. I was driving on I-70 at night and was getting tired and needed a place to stay. I remembered Motel 6 being a fair priced place from many years ago and decided to stay at this one. Wow, have things changed! When I entered my room, the air was very stagnant. When I pulled the bed sheets and cover back on the bed, there was grit and dirt on the sheets. I couldn't believe it! I immediately pulled back the sheets and cover on the 2nd bed and saw that it appeared to be OK. I went to turn on the A/C and saw that the wall was decaying and moldy around it. I was too tired to complain about it at this time.
When I woke up the next morning, I went to take a shower and found that there were no wash cloths available. I had to use a hand towel as a wash cloth. There was no shampoo available... only hand soap. When I checked out, I complained about the dirty bed, the moldy wall, no washcloths, and no shampoo. All that the clerk did was make note of it and said that she was new... she didn't even bother to offer me a discount for the inconvenience and uncleanliness of the room. I've never had this kind of experience at any motel that I have stayed in the past. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay at another Motel 6 when traveling again!

We stayed at Motel 6 in Beaverton, Oregon for a while due to affordability; we paid roughly $65.00 per night. The staff there were dirty a lot of the times, scruffy attire, and definitely not professional or customer service friendly. The horrendous living quarters reflected the lacking employees and owners. We began to notice roaches and there was a lot of smoking within feet, sometimes inches of our room though there were "Smoking not permitted within 30 feet" signs posted in every window of the units. When we complained, we were told no more smokers would be put in next to us but nothing was done about the roaches. The smoking continued and police were summoned. We had to invest in multiple cans of Raid to 'try' and keep the roaches under control. The roach infestation was never tended to so they were everywhere like honey bees on pollen.
We finally took our complaint to Washington County Government where an agent came out once. He witnessed the roaches. He advised us to keep our belongings in plastic tubs, so we put out an extra expense for tubs. Motel 6 did not pay us back or reduce the cost of our room. We checked around the area while awaiting our new apartment to be finished, but Motel 6 was unfortunately the cheapest. Though we switched to the plastic tubs, when we got moved into our new home there have been roaches since December 2015 to present day, October 13, 2016.
When we first complained about the roaches, smoking and horrible staff, one of the owners "Meddle" (this is an Indian name, not as in meddling) became so furious with us that she accosted me yelling, screaming, using most horrific profanity in my face, a disabled woman who was in my wheelchair, in the front of the building publicly. She continued screaming that "So, you want to go online and make a complaint, and complain to the government, you guys are out of there in the morning by check-out time or I will throw you out!!" We already had a scheduled move-out date, and in Oregon a motel/hotel must give you a 30-day notice when you have been there more than two weeks/a month. She did not care just to vent her unprofessional rage and was oblivious to the public witnessing this.
She also made other unfounded accusations, so we were forced to call Motel 6 headquarters and the police where there was no relief, so we had to finally advise her of the law with regard to housing in motel/hotels. It is not like we wanted to stay there, but we had little money left, so we were forced to live in these deplorable, disease-infested conditions for months. When we moved in, the place was so filthy that we had to continue to borrow the bleach and other cleaners to clean off filth from the bathroom and all walls, the refrigerator was so disgusting, the stove was completely gross with caked on goop what seemed from years ago. The door did not close tightly as there were open seams and holes in the door. Anyway, after speaking to headquarters, we stayed only a little while longer and got out of there as soon as our new home was ready.
Now we are dealing with roaches on a daily bases. We do not feel it will do any good to contact Meddle or her father. She always tried to distance herself from being the owner but we were informed by several of the staff that indeed she was not just the daughter, but part owner also. They are not professionals at all and if we had a complaint we became afraid to voice it. Furthermore, the staff would tell us that "Meddle; she is crazy and violent! She scares me!" We felt the same way. The father would walk around at times with a broom seemingly sweeping the premises, but there were roach infestations prior to our moving there as other customers had stayed but never anything done to exterminate them - before or after we began our stay. Beware!

Desk staff rude and nasty, could care less. I came in at 2 pm after having called first, was berated by rude desk clerk who didn't believe me and basically accused me of lying. My room key never worked, 3 times had to be reprogrammed, very strange people, hookers and drugs suspected. Couple having sex next store, shaking the walls down. Staff cannot find a Do Not Disturb sign for my door. AC has thundering, shuddering fan when changing cycles, lukewarm water in shower. The only good thing was housekeeping staff and room and bed linens were clean, that was it. I have stayed at a number of places, this was the worst. Moldy smell when walking in room hit me like a ton of bricks. This place is disgusting.

There are so many things, but I'll start with their lousy lazy workers. The manager's name is Tanya **. I work nights from usually 3pm to 3am. I made sure I paid the room at 3:30am when I got here but noooo, even with the do not disturb sign on the door, Tanya woke me up to go pay... I then went to see what happened and she yelled at me that I didn't pay and when I showed her the receipt, and you think she'd apologize... nope so that's my number one peeve. Then being a friendly person, I talk to the house cleaners... they don't even change the two top blankets, only the white linens! They also charge you 2.99 per day for wifi, and that's slow speed. There are beyond enough drunks and druggies here to deal with also. My rooms ac was out, for 2 days! So basically this hotel sucks, don't stay here!!!

Front desk was always attentive to needs. Motel 6 tends to be cheaper than most hotels and motels. Very sparsely furnished room with no carpet. With AARP discount, WiFi was free. My room was on the second floor facing the pool. It was quiet but friends who were on the ground floor near the office were up all night because of noise, talking, and engines being revved.

The room was good size but reeked of bug spray. My husband got sick because of it. I woke up with a really bad headache. I assume it was from inhaling the fumes. When I went to take a shower and grabbed a towel and a huge roach crawled out from underneath. Also here was a smashed roach on the trim around the bathroom door. The shower head itself did not work so decided to take a bath but couldn't because there was no plug for the drain.

Well you know when you are looking for a good deal on a hotel but also a nice place to stay. I have a story for you because I went up in Mason Montgomery Fields Ertle Road and stayed at the Motel 6 at my demises. I was so amazed about how great this hotel is by looking at the lobby to the rooms that Salvador Quinones run this motel establishment which too me is so wonderful knowing his father has run hotels all over the place from Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Cancun, Mexico so well. I have to say this place is so beautiful and amazing. I would stay here any day of the week and never care if they have breakfast or not because staying here is so great. I would recommend this place to anyone would love to come to stay.
The rooms are so nice that the beds are so comfortable. It's like sleeping on a Serta mattress and that to me I am like this is the best bed I have ever sleep in at hotels. So for me I vote for Motel 6 in Mason Montgomery and give the father a standing ovation and promotion to him and his son. For me to stay somewhere I really go on price so for me staying at Motel 6 the price is just right for me. Now it varies during the week to the weekend. It could range from fifty dollars to sixty dollars during a normal week or weekend so when it comes to the holidays you may pay like one hundred and twenty to one hundred and fifty. This depends but that is corporate rates for the holidays.
I am here tonight on September the 4th so I had to pay the rate that was going for this weekend because it is Labor Day Weekend. So for me I am okay with that because most of the time I am here on the weekends at the most. Sometimes through the week but every room has its own uniqueness. So I am very happy with stay here at Motel 6. The father showed me pictures of his other hotels so here is a brief look at the one I am in now to the ones you can go and visit and have a great stay.
So you can see that this father and son have a wonderful place to stay. So why not take your time out and see what his place looks like in Mason Montgomery because I would rather stay somewhere that is nice and neat and the people take their time out and make their place look good so people will come to stay and want to come back. I am most definitely going to visit his other hotels. So I figure I could let people know what experience that I have with this man's establishment. So please take a look at my article about my experience because going somewhere nice makes me happy and I am honored to give someone their props when it is need.

The base of the shower was breaking apart and cracking, I could see mold growth and the water pressure sucked. There was 1 full size bed when we asked for a queen size bed. Called them first thing in the morning but the person whom I talk to said to call later. I did and I talk to a lady named Nancy. Introduce myself and told her we stayed at rm 212 and told her that I forgot my sapphire ring and ask her if somebody turned it in. She ask me to described it. As I did and I described it that it was an oval sapphire that is surrounded with little diamonds. I told her that my ring is similar to the late Princess Diana's engagement ring. And it has a thinner band. She said to me that I described it well and someone did turned in the ring. I was so thankful and happy and I said there are still some honest people on early.
So I ask her if they can sent it to me and just bill me. They said they don't do that and what I need to do is sent a prepaid envelop/box so they can mail it back to me. So I asked my husband to get the prepaid box, in which he did and send it to the hotel. I spoke to Nancy the next day and told her that my husband has mail the prepaid box and she said that they will be waiting for it. She even mentioned to me that she was wearing my ring which was so beautiful but would later put it in the safe. After a few days waiting for my ring. I received the box but to my BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, the ring they sent was a different ring which was a ring that you get from a vending machine, no sapphire in it. I was so mad and my husband talk to the Manager and then they flatly deny every bit of it that they did not find any ring that is sapphire.
I made a follow up call and Nancy as she answer the phone and then I talk to the manager but she too has denied every bit of it. These are very dishonest people and I am out of my sapphire ring. Stayed at Motel 6 on Bloomfield Ave in Baltimore because our RV broke down while passing through. Repair shop recommended this location. Excuse: it was near repair facility and we were from out of town. Total sleazebag motel. Was told at check in that all they had was a single handicap room in rear. I asked "what size bed". Clerk answered queen. I said "perfect" because we were traveling with our 2 dogs and felt the rear would be better.
Within 10 minutes of walking into the room, a vehicle directly in front of our room started blasting his music so loudly our window was literally vibrating. My husband went out twice to ask him politely to turn his music down. He refused, said he was a paying customer and it was too early to be sleeping anyway. When management came there was a huge confrontation, but he eventually left. After this another guest told us that he had been here a couple of days and the same guy had been blasting his music like that since he had been here, even at 2 am. This other guest also said that this guy had 3 women in his room and men coming and going all of the time. Sounded like a pimp to me. Then there are questionable looking people and cars coming and going all the time from this location.
Now the room. There is carpet or rugs of any sort. Said it was for the handicapped's convenience so I can understand that. But there is no fridge, no microwave, and no table to sit at. There is 1 small desk with a wooden chair that is so hard and uncomfortable it makes your back and backside hurt. Then I notice a bead of some sort lying in the floor and it didn't come from us. So then I know this place has not been cleaned. I look around more carefully and see cords sticking out from under the AC unit which is falling apart but does cool well.
Next I see some sort of debris lying on the floor behind the door that looks like something eating the door away. Finally, was told this was a nonsmoking room which was fine because neither of us smoke. Then I see 5 burn holes in the bed cover and 6 burn marks in the bathroom. I have stayed at Motel 6 in other parts of the country before, but will never do so again. I called the Corporate office and after keeping me on the phone for 30 minutes to file a complaint, was told unfortunately since this was "an independently owned location" they could not do anything. I yelled at her for keeping me that long to file a complaint that is never going to fix anything. They can "Leave their light on" for someone else from here on out. Now that it's getting dark cars keep pulling into the parking and honking the horn for some reason. This is a trashy, scary place.

I have been a frequent guest at Motel 6, but when I found a bed bug in my sheets, captured it, to it to the front desk, who's maintenance supervisor was called to identify it and verified my worst suspension, he said "Yep, that's a bed bug". I was very concerned about the bugs and how would I know if any had gotten into my new black luggage or worse yet, had they gotten on my best buddy, my dog? They offered no information what I should do, only that rest assured the room will be sealed off and fumigated. Well, that's good for the next patron, but I don't know what I should be doing.
Their lack of concern made me demand a refund, to which she said I can't give you a refund, that's up to corporate. I asked her to call. They said someone would contact me with a number about the complaint. Now I was agitated, I said this is ridiculous. Then she threw me out! What? I get treated very rudely when they are the ones with bed bugs? She told me to leave her office or she will call the sheriff, how did we here? I'm a 65 year old senior, never even asked for the senior discount and she's threatening me with the sheriff department? So I grabbed the container with the bug and left. I've spoken to corporate twice they said both times the would assign a number to the complaint and email that number to me. They never did.
And my worst fear has happened, I did carry those disgusting pests home, somehow and for two months now I haven't been able to eradicate them doing all the suggestions I could find online, except for an exterminator which I just can't afford on my social security income. I do more laundry than I ever have in my life, and I bathe my dog about once a week, I just can't keep this up, my life is a living hell of bed bugs. Watch out for cheap motels, they are cheap for a reason. I will never stay at a Motel 6 again.

I checked in to a Motel 6 in Oakland, CA on 6/5/16 for two nights. They were extremely disorganized. Couldn't find my reservation, and eventually charged me a rate slightly higher than the one I had booked online, but it had taken so long to get to that point. I let it go. The following morning (while I was in the motel) I received a call from the motel stating that they had charged my card because I had not checked in or cancelled my reservation. I informed her that I had checked in and gave her my room number. She responded, "I guess I have to refund your card". The next day (6/7) when I checked out I asked about my refund. She said "I have it right here, I'm doing it today". Two days later they still hadn't processed the refund. I called the motel back and received the same answer, "I have it right here, I'm doing it today".
Keep in mind this was both the worst and the most expensive Motel 6 I have ever experienced. The wifi was down, the power went out several times, it was next to the worst neighborhood I have ever seen, addicts and homeless all over the property... The following Tuesday (6/14), still no pending refund so I call Motel 6 corporate. They contact the Motel again and they claim they issued the refund on the 9th but it may take up to 15 days to process.
So, I wait 15 days. Still no pending refund, so I call Motel 6 customer service back. The first time, they were friendly and professional. This time, nasty and arrogant. She tells me that it is Motel 6 corporate policy regarding all refunds to wait 5 business days for the initial charge to post and then send the refund to the accounting department for "review" for up to 15 business days before deciding whether to issue a refund. All of this for their mistake in the first place. She then hung up on me.
I have to say that I have stayed in many Motel 6 locations around the country. I sometimes travel with my 2 dogs and I have found them to be relatively friendly and hassle free and I have never had any major problems. I am completely shocked at the response I have gotten here. They say you don't really know a company until you have a problem. This situation was entirely their mistake and they are putting up this much of a fight over giving me back my money that they have admitted they never should have taken in the first place. I can only imagine what they are like in an actual dispute. In any event, they have lost a customer over $242.72 and I want to share my experience with as many people as possible.

When I first entered the room I was so focused on I had just paid for two rooms that health department would close. The bathroom appeared to be clean upon inspection. There was so much water sport and mold wondered if they had a professional staff cleaning.
The next morning when I woke up I was right. The staff was two individuals and an office assistant. They cleaned the carpet with a broom no vacuum cleaner. This is a direct reflection of the owner taking advantage of the brand and using it to sell. Rooms are sub standard. Mr. Tom Bodett should be looking for the owner. I caution you!!! Do not stay in this hotel. We had to get off the road as it was very late after driving 11 hrs after working all day. We saw a Motel 6 off of 20 and my experience with these motels has always been ok. I called ahead to ensure there was a room available, and made a reservation. After confirming, there is no refunded cancellation. The lady on the phone was great, no issues there. Driving up to this crap hole, there was a family staying in their car in the parking lot in back of the motel. I guess they didn't have the money.
I got to the office and being as late as it was, I guess I disrupted the lady at the front desk. She didn't have an attitude, but she did seem very tired. I paid and got my room key for a king size, non-smoking room. The outside of the hotel is very, very dirty. There were full bags of trash on both the first and second floors one of which was outside of my room. As if that's not gross enough, don't be fooled by other reviews, these rooms are most certainly NOT CLEAN!
As we entered the room, it smelled stale and dirty. The floors were stained badly and it was not vacuumed. There was dirt all over the floor. Here's the best part, pulled the sheets back and it was horrendous. The pillows were stained with brown spots and the white sheets were yellow stained with brown spots and stains all over them. There was grit and dirt on the sheets and all over the dirty comforter. I called politely to the front desk for a new set of linen and said I would even put them on myself. The lady said she would check and hung up. We waited and waited. Finally I went to the car and luckily had two blankets in there. Because our linen was not going to come anytime soon, we decided to throw the comforter on the floor and dust off the sheets. We put our blankets over top of the motels linen. Surprisingly I didn't get bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were bed bugs too (We didn't see any).
45 mins later, after already being in bed, the phone rang. I suspect it was about the sheets, but I didn't even answer it. Aside from all that, the AC units directional vents were broken so it was just blowing air from a wide open source and that AC was nasty and unkept. I will say you get what you pay for because I only paid 47 bucks. However, I have stayed in many motels to include the Motel 6, and this was by far the 2nd worst motel I have stayed in. The only reason it's not the first is because I didn't see bugs or roaches in the bed, so I guess I was lucky there. Hope this helps for review readers thinking of staying in this hole. Think again and stay at one of the hotels on exit 8 - one exit prior to exit 10 where the Motel 6 is.

Yesterday, Thursday June 2nd my fiance and I made reservations to stay at Motel 6 in Gulfport, MS located on hwy 49. We stayed on a few other occasions and didn't have any complaints. After yesterday, I will never be back. Before, we arrived, I called and spoke with a young lady and inquired about getting the first room that was cleaned and she rudely responded back, "HOUSEKEEPING DON'T GET HERE UNTIL 10, SO NO!" I thought maybe I was taking her tone the wrong way, so I thought I would try face to face.
We arrived at 9:30 am and a light-skinned ** lady by the name of Carlotte was working. I told her I was the one who called and I explained to her that my fiance had to be at work for 10 am and I would have to sit and wait for a room. I asked her if it were possible for me to get the first cleaned room. I worked in housekeeping for 12 yrs. I know it takes 15 to 30 minutes to clean a room. I even would have paid a little extra just to get in and shower and lie down just for early check in. She told me, "NO, CHECK IN IS AT 3, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THEN." I said, "So, you are telling me that, even if there are 3 rooms cleaned in next hr, I have to wait until 3pm?" She replied back "yes". I walked next door to another hotel who allowed me to check in with no problem. I just don't understand why she had to have such an attitude and why would she allow a paying guest to wait outside until 3pm.
After I checked in next door, I walked back over and cancelled my reservation and spoke with a kind man who said, he was the GM of Motel 6 in Biloxi and asked "was everything ok". I told him I didn't like my service and checked in next door and he said he was sorry to hear that and that was that. The good side of it is, for the same price next door, we had a fridge, microwave, and complimentary breakfast. We never looked twice at them, b/c we preferred Motel 6, but never again.

I have stayed in other Motel 6 locations and have only had one previous bad experience. But I have to say, my family's visit to the Motel 6 in Gadsden, Alabama was the worst visit we've ever had. Although the clerks we nice and the lobby clean, the room was nothing but terrible. First, there was mold in the shower. Secondly, the tile going into the bathroom was coming up. Third, the mattress on one of the beds had several gross stains. The room was last cleaned on May 31st according to the card and we checked in on June 1st and checked out June 2nd. There was also a roach crawling next to the microwave. Very disgusting and should be reported to the health department.
Another issue we had was the pool area. Although it is clearly posted regarding the rules, several teenagers took over the pool and was horseplaying and letting outside guest into the pool. At one time there were at least 15 people in the pool. My family and I could not even enjoy the pool. There are no security cameras and nobody even bothered to say anything about the horseplaying or the letting in of unauthorized people. And no, I did not complain to the front desk as I felt if we did it would not be safe for myself or family. I WILL NEVER stay at a Motel 6 again!

This motel is located just of I94 in a rather dismal section of St. Paul. Stayed there for 2 nights while visiting with family. Reserved two rooms - there was some confusion when checking in about the 2nd room, which was to be for two people. Moved us finally to another room. While we were out on Friday, motel called us and said we had to get out of our room, as it was reserved for 3 days for someone else. By the time we got back to the motel, our stuff had been removed from the room, although some of it was left behind.
In addition, our second party got to her room only to find that her stuff had been removed from her room, tossed into a large garbage bag and set aside. We both lost personal property (hair dryer, phone charging cord, book, among others). Half the lights in the room we were assigned the 2nd night didn't work, nor did the TV. This place is a dump, would not stay here again. Will rethink my Motel 6 decision the next time I need a room anywhere.

When on way home from New Mexico to Florida, I was beat considering I got a very late start. I could barely hold my eyes open until I hit the room & get into bed. I was awaken within 30 minutes from loud music from vehicle right out back, guy running into my door... DRUNK. Then up above the people were jumping up & down. It sounded like moving furniture whatever... I called 2 times even apologizing to bother them upfront, I don't complain that's why... They claim they would take care of the noise. Needless to say 3rd call after waiting a bit not wanting to bother yet I paid for a room... The guy was so nice yet 3rd call was female & I believe she answered for one of the guys for she got rude about me saying something about above noise. Well it's one thing for people staying here doing it but at 9-10 pm you hear & learn cleanings going on therefore furniture was being moved around, sounded like vacuum even though hardwood floors.
In saying this after I complained the 1st time they got louder as if to stand right in center of floor on purpose making noise. Then after 2nd call they still continued to be loud... Even louder causing my small dog to bark unstoppable. That's saying something. She's very disciplined & mild mannered. I had to turn TV up to distract her... So in the end I was up until 2 am left leaving TV up some what normally I turn TV off to sleep, rearrange my departure from 5 am to around 9 am for being so exhausted from last night. The noise didn't calm down until around 4-5 am. This is the 1st time ever to leave a complaint anywhere & I travel for work so many places I visit in my 40's so over 20 years of traveling. My little ones normally up bright & early she's still asleep now... QUESTION: WHO CLEANS A ROOM AT NIGHT? They had rooms still available so why the need, even if not that's for morning service to do I thought.
QUESTION: I ASK WILL I HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH PEOPLE HERE FOR I HAVE MEDICATION I TAKE DUE TO CANCER SURVIVOR. In which after eating a small bite I take it then go to bed so I don't feel sick... There's nothing that can be done about the nausea from it even Zofran they supply me with. So BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT STAY @ 2032 Paramount Blvd Amarillo, Tx. if you're looking for rest. On The Room Hygiene: Turn bed down to discover dirt from feet maybe left from last guest or whomever. Thankfully 2 beds I checked 2nd one out & slept in it rather than dirty bed. Obviously it didn't look slept in so maid just made it up nicely unknowing down below there was dirt?
Then I realized after quick shower & walking across floor my feet were covered on bottom with dirt. Therefore I saw where the other bed had gotten dirty from someone from before due to my feet did touch the other bed I slept in causing me to get washcloth & clean feet before getting into bed before entering after each visit to restroom, or simply to table for laptop. So again I'll state for me to say a word about a place THERE'S A PROBLEM!!! FIRST time in all my travels have I ever left behind such a comment. Motel 6 has left a VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. BEWARE of this place. LAST A NOTE FOR YOU LADIES: If you don't feel like men's mouths & whistling as you exit vehicle & enter room BEWARE... I'm a pin-up, not calling myself beautiful simply I'm used to men's language, on our sites, & signings after photo shoots... SAYS A LOT. Hopefully this was helpful.

The next day Saturday I check my bank statement and there it was a charge for the room again was made to my bank account! I went to the front desk and told him that I had already paid. He said "You will have to fax me your two bank statements showing both charges on Monday." I did that and guess what? Monday was his day off! So on Tuesday April 19th I called and spoke to the manager and he said "It's taken care of. You will get your money refunded in 5 to 10 business days" which I thought was stupid!
Well today it's been a total of 16 days of which 12 have all been business days and still NO REFUND of MY money! This persists year after year so there is no way that the management does not know about it and now I believe they very well could be profiting from it, as they are thieves. I don't have that kind of money to be stolen from me. Given the clientele, one would think they would want law-abiding citizens like me filling their rooms. However, I will NEVER stay at ANY Motel 6 again, despite their pet friendly policy. I will also make sure that my several hundred friends who travel with pets are aware of my experience. Also the stairs were dimly lit and dark carpeted to it very hard for her to see each step. I could not even give her the walker to use when she got to the top of the steps because when you opened the door it swung in over the landing so you could not get out of the stairwell unless you were on the second step down! Light and fan in the bathroom did not work properly and my mother could not get her walker through the bathroom doorway. She had to leave the walker outside the bathroom! Very unhappy with the stay there. Will never use Motel 6 again and will pass the word on to other people looking to stay at a motel.

My last 3 visits at this particular Motel 6 has been a nightmare. I was supposed to be given a 10 percent discount, and that was not honored upon my last visit. Booked the room again the following weekend and this time I was given a letter from the hotel attendant and the manager at the time. The letter stated to give me a discount of 20%, well the attendant that works there on weekends still did not honor the letter. He called his General Manager and was told whomever gave me the letter was not authorized to give me a discount even though it was signed by the (MOD) manager on duty and the desk clerk, both were on duty at that time, when I checked out in the morning.
Decided to give this place one more try. Booked my room for April 16, received my confirmation via email. Called the hotel that night to let them know I will be arriving late. First I was told the hotel was booked and explain to the attendant I booked my room online that early morning and after that I gave him my name and then I was told I was banned from the hotel. I ask for what reason and he stated "for disturbance." Well on April 11, I received an email from Motel 6 to fill out a survey, well my survey was not kind regarding that particular establishment.
The next day I got an email from the General Manager regarding my stay and it stated "rest assured appropriate measures are being taken" to address my issues. Well they did. I was banned for complaining about the services of that hotel. I contacted their Guest relations department to file a complaint, spoke with a young lady and she was not helpful at all. Asked for a manager, there was not one available at that time.
This complaint is not about me getting the discount anymore, it's about after I complained they are going to lie and ban me from staying at their facility. I didn't mind the homeless people hanging around the hotel, the security guard they hired, smoking weed in the hotel parking lot, the rooms not being clean. Even when I slept in their beds I slept on top of the covers, the sheets, stains and hair leftover from the last guest. Had a friend that stayed there one time, he was robbed at gun point in the parking lot at night, maybe that's why they hired a security guard. But all in all I just need a place to sleep for 4-5 hours, so everything else was not a problem for me. If you are ever in the area please stay at the Quality Inn, it's right next door to Motel 6. That's where I stayed this time. The place is more expensive than Motel 6, but I promise you will get your money's worth.
I have proof of everything I am writing. I have the letter that was given to me, the emails I received from Motel 6, names of both the General Managers and one of their phone numbers, guest services phone numbers, and all other information to back up my story. Just beware and very careful regarding this hotel, there's a lot going on there behind the scenes. Especially be careful regarding this one night attendant, he works on Sat night, he is not to be trusted at all. I recommend finding an alternative place to stay. This hotel is a total dump and should be closed down by the health department. From the attendants to the general managers and district managers they are all a joke. The guest relations department is useless, but they say you pay for what you get. For the amount of money they charge you get no service, but if you file a complaint you get banned. I guess the truth hits some people.

I visited Motel 6 in Fort Worth on 35 about 2 months ago. We was in the bed for less than a hour before I started to feel something. Well it was a nasty ass bed bug. We was mad, and went to complain and they told me I brought it in. Really, I can see if I brought in a fly or ant. But a bed bug, then no money back. I was tired and pissed and had to drive all the way back to Dallas at 2 in the morning. All I got was a ** up email that said they will look into it. I know they wouldn't let they grandparents or kids sleep in that nasty room.

It also was filthy nasty dirty. I called down to the office. She said there were no other rooms. I could change the sheets myself to come down and get them. I went down, showed her the pictures. I was told there were no other available rooms. There were many rooms in this hotel in Richmond Georgia that were empty. I will not stay in another Motel 6 if I get any kind of bites from bed bugs if I get any kind of anything. When I leave this hotel I will pursue a lawsuit. It is uncalled for. It is unnecessary and again I do have pictures of everything in here that I'm telling you about this bedding.

My husband and I stopped here with no reservations, too tired to finish our drive for night. Initially the desk person said she thought they were full, but looked anyway while I told her we were just overnight and leaving early, and would take anything. She had one king bed, non-smoking available just for that night, gave it to us for cheapest rate, 49, plus her manager happened to come out and saw my AARP card and said they had a discount for that, too. We were already happy, but then got to the room and found a modern, clean, generously sized room, with new fridge and microwave, super clean and roomy tub, and very comfortable bed! The floors are wood and tile, which is much easier to keep clean and I appreciate that more hotels are following this custom. Water was very hot and filled the tub no problem. It was quiet and clean both inside and out. No breakfast, though, only free coffee. Excellent experience here.

We had two queen rooms at this motel on March 12, 2016. Never have I ever encountered such rude, flippant staff and overall filthy conditions. The entire place reeked of marijuana, there was a razor blade with a white substance on the TV shelf in one of our rooms. We also found the master key to every room in our bathroom. Large hairballs from previous guests rolled across the floors like tumbleweed. The bed was so grainy and smelly, that we went to walmart just down the street and bought our own linens. The bed spread had what looked like crusted blood, and there was only one set of towels per room. When we asked for clean linens and more towels, we were told they were out and that laundry was not going to be done until the morning.
I have called corporate 3 times for a resolution, each time I was told that the site manager would contact me. Never happened. She even lied stating that she had left several voice mails for me. There were NO voice mails. The corporate office offered 1 free room for 1 night. I refused, because I will never stay at another Motel 6! EVER.
Edit: as I was writing this review, I finally received a call back, and managed to negotiate a refund for 1 of the two rooms. I was offered $30 at first, then $50. I had to relay that a full refund of at least one room was not too much to ask, for the atrocities we put up with! Begrudgingly the refund was granted. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

TV that was dusty and the metal bracket anchoring it to the desk was filthy, carpet was coming loose from the wall, coffee station in the lobby was dirty, and the grounds were littered with trash. I stayed with my dogs and didn't even want them sleeping on the floor, it was so dirty. Had to ask at front desk to have my room cleaned after being there for 2 days. Lots of homeless people staying there and one was urinating beside his car one morning. They have the nerve to charge $3.99 for WiFi. No thank you and I will never stay at a Motel 6 again. So I scheduled to stay at this location on March 15th for the dates of March 18th to 20th. I printed their web page confirmation and deleted the email because I didn't think I needed it after I had the printout, so because the price total was about $100 bucks for the weekend that seemed off to me so I called to confirm and they said "no". They had booked me for the 15th, checking out the 16th and I scanned and sent them my print out so they changed the dates and gave me a total of about $200 for the weekend. I still took it since I thought it was not bad.
I scheduled this and even called again to double confirm just in case. I saved the email this time just in case. So Friday the 18th comes my family and I are on our way for our vacation at Disneyland. And I get a call from a man named RAVNIEL who said he was some type of assistant manager. He very coldly told me my reservation was cancelled and said he could not accommodate me. At first I thought it was a joke but he was being serious and when I asked him why he very aggressively kept saying he could not accommodate me over and over again he could not give me a reason. I told him we were on our way. He did not care and told me he did not have to talk to me anymore and hung up on me.
I called guest relations. They said they could not do anything. All they knew was that I was on a Do Not Rent List. I was completely confused by that since I have never stayed at Motel 6 in my life. I always go for nicer hotels which I will keep doing from now on and they told me that I had to talk to the GM of that location. So I rebooked with them at the location in Buena Park. We only stayed one night even though the staff there was very nice.
So today Monday the 21st I called the Disney Way Anaheim location and I asked to speak to the GM. At first they said he was not there to call back in an hour. So I called back and I spoke to the GM by the name of WYLIE. I thought he was going to be much more helpful but I was wrong. Mind you I am not the type of person to insult or cuss at anyone so I did not insult anyone here even though they did to me. But this man said I was a liar. He said he could not have this conversation over the phone. He was completely hostile said I was threatening him. I have never threatened anybody ever. He said he could not do anything. Basically he didn't care and I asked why I was put on that list. He would not say anything and when I kept asking he said he was going to disconnect the call and straight out told me I was not welcome there.
I have never been treated like a criminal because I am not and they made me feel like one. If you don't want your vacation ruined don't stay here. I am a regular family woman. In the end nobody could tell me why I was treated this way and not one person cared. I hope this prevents a family from going through what i went through. Good luck. And it is definitely worth paying a little more to stay at a better place.

The moment I checked in this motel from hell, the elevators were down, the leg of the bed broke in the junior bedrooms in the back, so the bed was lopsided. The first room had a lock on the tv and they're renovating all the rooms here and there are no signs warning their guest before you check in. All day yesterday, all night and bright and early this morning I have called and complained over and over again. My grandmother passed away two days ago. I buried her and I am a misery. Shopper who has taken a family leave from work I shop hotels and I have to say the customer service and rooms here really are bad. No understanding. All they offer is to move you to another room, no consideration for the guest, no values. I feel as if they didn't see me as a human being, but only as a $$$ sign. I had to walk to the front office if I didn't have my own telephone because the room had no telephone.
I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with the way I have been treated and the General manager could care less here. The customer service here was no help at all. Lots of gang members in and out of the rooms. Lots of activity late at night and all you hear is police sirens and helicopters on throughout the night. Not a very safe area for a family to bring their children. Very unsafe. I called the corporate office and told them everything I have stated here and they said to hold on and said they would call the GM here and ask them to give me some kind of refund due to being inconvenienced. And when she got back on the line she said that they refused to give me a refund because no one else has complained. But how would they? I'm in room ** on the 2 floor and the only people besides the construction company working on room **, 2 rooms down from me.
And we went to our car this morning to get my paperwork to write a report for this hotel. I saw some drug activity just by the stairs on the other side going on. It's ridiculous that they can care less about their guest's feelings or making sure that their stay here was comfortable. Not once did they even ask. So NEVER EVER TAKE A CHANCE AND BRING YOUR FAMILY TO THE MOTEL 6 ON VINEYARD AVE, ONTARIO, CA 91762. Very unsafe beds and a lot of dirt on the walls. And forget getting sleep and complaining to corporate for reimbursement, it won't happen. MOTEL 6 on Vineyard Ave. should be called THE BATES MOTEL 6. They have over 42 bad reviews. Horrible experience. Everything started when at 8 am, a person who first of all did not present himself first but trying to open the door, then knocked at the door and said that he was maintenance. Second, we forgot our orthopedic pillow (different pillow as theirs) and we called the same day. The Manager said that he will contact the personnel who cleaned the room and said that they said they did not find anything. He told me that probably was still in my car. Hello!! If I am calling is because I don't have it. His aptitude as manager was very questionable. Was trying to tell me that he did not find a pillow, tried to compromise myself by allowing me to speak with the person who cleaned the room? No need for it. He was supposed to manage the situation in different way.
My fact was that there were some dishonest people there (did not call name but the fact that a big pillow is going to disappear just out of the blue is questionable). I have been in different hotels and always the items left were found (credit cards, jeans, towels, computer, rings, dolls etc etc). I hereby doesn't recommend this hotel because manager is not a person who you can deal with when situations like this happen. He kept telling me that people has left computers, phones and never had a problem (I don't know, I was not there). If he was having honest personnel as he said, a simple pillow should have appeared. Never ever in that hotel.

Each person we spoke with at the corporate office (five very long phone calls) was exceptionally kind and professional. They could not understand why the local Duncanville, Texas Motel 6 kept canceling our reservations, spoke with them and then reassured us that the new reservations they just made would stick. When we tried to contact the local hotel, we were sent from one phone extension to another until we were back to the original extension and the routine began again. Despite the fact that the room rate remained unchanged, room service changed. Now I am told they booked me for a weekly rate. and they will not refund me for the other days. So now I just paid $314.65 to stay for 1 night in a Motel 6.

We stayed for three weeks, paying daily (about 70 a night). While my van was being worked on I had to stay at this Motel 6 Melear Dr. location Arlington TX. My service animal (highly trained Border collie) wasn't on leash. When asked I complied. Said room was left dirty a bold face lie. I made a formal complaint to corporate because they LIED and said they were already booked when they were not. I was put out on the coldest day of the night in Nov. as I am an elderly 65 year old woman. I had to stay that night in an all night waffle house. I ended up sick and am still now. Is this the way Motel 6 does the elderly? How about when I called corporate again and they brushed it off? I am looking into discrimination suit. This is unacceptable to me. This will probably fall on to deaf ears.
Oh I am now staying at Days Inn. Also the owners of these hotels in this area have a meeting weekly to see who they believe the customers to be undesirable and wont rent to them if they are poor, or don't meet their standards. What gives them the right to take nearly 1700 in cash then says you have to leave on the coldest day about 28 degrees? That is despicable. Very unnerving and just despicable. Is this the Motel 6 policy or is there some kind of standard, or better yet what kind of accountability can we hold these people to? I am elderly and yes I am poor, but I'm a proud American and widow of Veteran of this great country, and yes I am also handicapped that lives on a fixed income who I have recently lost my husband for 22 yrs.

Definitely did not feel safe. An officer was parked in the lot. After no sleep, we left at 3 am. When leaving, a guy appeared on drugs just leaning on his door. My husband called the local Motel 6 (912-283-3300) to find out what the room rate was for 1 person. The male on duty quoted the price as $39.99 + taxes. I went to the motel and paid CASH for our granddaughter to stay 2 nights. I signed in, but the female clerk did NOT give me a receipt. When I was paying I thought the price was wrong, but I was ill and ready to get back home. Upon my arrival at home I called Motel 6 to ask the female clerk where was my receipt. She said my granddaughter could get it the next morning.
I went to the motel on Monday, November 16th to report the error between the price quoted to my husband and what I was charged $45.99 + $2.30 + $3.22 + 5.00 taxes which totals $56.51. Should have been $35.99 + $1.80 + $2.52 + $5.00 which totals $45.31. I spoke with a male, a female, and another male who was supposed to be the manager. He would NOT give me a refund of the difference I was OVERCHARGED. He said it was too late because the payment had already been processed. WRONG!!! You can issue a refund anytime. If the people do not understand simple United States business practices and English, they SHOULD GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS WORLD.
The motel is operated by a Mr. Jay **. The motel's assigned operating # is 4896. It is no wonder that not many people stay in these motels anymore because of the cheating on room rates and rudeness, including the man the other employees called the manager. Not a one of them was wearing a name tag. Mr. Jim Amorosia (Motel 6's CEO in Carrollton, Texas) should close this motel or make sure the people actually operating the motel knows how to not only receive patrons money, but also, to correct mistakes in fees charged (in other words, show them how to make a refund. It is not hard to do at all. I still would like to receive my refund, but these people are cheaters. My advice to anyone contemplating staying in a Motel 6... DO NOT.

And if you have more than one device you have to pay for each one separate. Upon asking the front desk girl that was working, I asked, "Why does your competitors on either side of you offer free WiFi and we have to pay?" Whereas her response was, "Well that's how we keep our room rates so cheap. If we offer the WiFi for free, then we'd have to charge extra for the rooms." Yea, that's a load of crap!
Right now, I moved to a different motel that has free WiFi and is way lower than this establishment with wayyyyyy better amenities. My family and I stayed at Motel 6 on North Military Highway Norfolk Virginia while vacationing at Virginia beach. I reserved a room with a kitchenette a month in advance. Never again will we stay in this hotel. There were no knobs on the cooktop to turn it on, toaster didn't work, there was no microwave as was advertised, the fridge smelled horrible, there were roaches everywhere dead and alive. We complained for two days before we could get towels. We spoke with management three times throughout the week, never once got an apology, just "thanks for letting us know there was a problem." I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and I stayed there because air went out in apartment, we first night was okay then come around second night. At 12:16 am we were asleep and police beat on door like they were trying to knock it down. So I woke my husband and he answered the door not knowing what was going on. The cops asked his name and him, like I said not knowing what the problem was, said his name and they said "well we had an anonymous call and that you have a warrant for missed court date" that my husband wasn't even aware of because attorney said it hadn't been set yet.
So anyway to sum it up he went to jail and later was told the Motel 6 was basically informants for McCracken county police. Motel 6 calls Bulletin Ops and gives names of guests who check in. They acted as though he was a criminal and was on the run. It's ** and wrong when all he done was missed court date by accident because was told it hadn't even been set yet. So for all those out there that can read this beware of the violating of guests. He wasn't there bothering or interrupting any other guests or cause flack with any of the employees either.

We stayed in a smoking room and couldn't smell a thing! Thank you to the staff of the two hotels for keeping your new remodel clean and bug-free!
Again asked staff to reserve a room for us in Denver, Colorado. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT EXPECT A PLEASANT STAY. The staff had tattoos all over their body, the room reeked of pot, and the air didn't work. Tried to spray the room with Lysol, didn't work. Asked the staff to send a maintenance man, he told us that he was not certified, so he could not help us. And the other guests we saw, looked like meth heads. One guest was in the parking lot with his van jacked up, working under it. When we asked for a refund, staff was very quick and pleasant.

It was also my son's birthday. What a way to spend it. Not only that we had a drunk as a neighbor who had no respect for the quiet time that they so abide by at check in, they were fighting, yelling, screaming and violent. This was all hours of the night. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. The police were called by several. That was a joke. They went to the wrong room. Before, I remember wifi was free. Awful and dramatic experience... I want to warn everyone about this Motel 6 located on 160 Steelwell Road, Brampton, ON. Last night, July 25th, after driving for more than 10 hours I, together with my boyfriend and my 2 cats, decided to sleep over at this known American's original pet friendly hotel, before continuing our journey back to our hometown in Quebec. We checked in at 8h45 p.m. in room 136 and once inside I realized that it didn't offer a familiar environment. Young ladies come and go all night long. It was really noisy, and I couldn't even sleep... Around 5h30 a.m. I finally slept and to my great despair when I woke up at 9 a.m. one of my cats (Himalayan Blue Point with doll face) WAS MISSING, couldn't be found anywhere inside the room. I only found his collar near the door!
I contacted the front desk agent and he didn't even care about my complain and despair. I asked him about the cameras in the hotel, if it was possible to check the videos because my cat disappeared inside the property, inside my room. He really didn't worry about it and continued his job. I asked to see the manager or the person in charge and he said he would be there only on Monday morning. I told him I would call the police and he ironically even said that he doubted that the officers would come because of a CAT (answer of an employe of a hotel chain known for caring about our beloved pets).
The police officers came and couldn't find any sign of forced entry (windows or door)... but the cat was gone, simply vanished into room's thin air. I even tried to contact once again the front desk agent who arrived in the afternoon to ask him to check the key card locker and also to ask him to print a picture of my cat. He was worse than the one who was working in the morning shift... basically he just asked to see the picture of my cat. I could note that he had some knowledge of cat's breeds because when he saw the picture immediately he recognized that it was a Himalayan blue point.
Anyway, he just gave me the manager's card, Mr. ** and repeated that I could contact him Monday; left me by myself, went to meet 2 men who were there to verify the sprinkler room and went outside to light a cigarette. Basically he just acted as the morning shift agent... without any basic standards of a hotel organization customer service. Unfortunately plunged in a state of hopeless despair, into the depths of anguish, sadness and frustration, I had to leave Brampton, ON without any apologies, help or explanations from the hotel representatives. Even the police officers were further more supportive than them.
I felt that they really didn't care about the situation. It seemed that they were used to this kind of occurrence in their workplace. Between tears and fear for what may have happened with my beloved cat, I really hope that I can find someone responsible for this property who is genuinely committed, who is really sensitive to other people's feelings. Someone who can help me answer the question: How can an indoor cat disappear inside a HOTEL ROOM WHILE THERE ARE PEOPLE INSIDE THIS SAME ROOM? Where is the security of this place? I chose this property because I trusted Motel 6 chain... SO IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR LIVES AND LOVE YOUR PETS STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOTEL 6... DON'T TRUST THEIR SLOGAN WE'LL KEEP THE LIGHTS ON FOR YOU. They are only good enough to keep darkened depths on...

**DISCLAIMER!! I go into extreme detail during this review, in order to tell my full experience. There may be times when reading, you might feel as though what I share is unnecessary. However, I wrote this review as honest as I could, and at times that honesty pulled on a need to be incredibly candid/descriptive. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.**
To be honest I really didn't want to write this review. I said to myself once I checked out, I would never talk about the experience again. However for months what happened there at that Motel 6, has really weighed on my heart and mind. First off let me say that in no way is this review meant to be malicious. My intentions are not to bash the characters of the employees in this establishment, as I do not know them personally, and am only speaking from the interactions had with them. In fact I will mostly attribute the issues encountered here to the the manager of the location.
I would like to first address the following positives, before sharing my list of woes. To begin, let me start by saying, that the building was very well decorated. It was the nicest Motel 6 I or my mother had ever been in. The room we were in was pretty spacious, had a window seat, and a nice up to date television. The room also had a small refrigerator, microwave, and spacious bathtub. The front desk attendant who we initially checked in with, was very kind, accommodating and friendly. And I must also mention the cleaning ladies, who were overall absolutely wonderful.
Unfortunately the praise stops there. Now before I get into any of the negatives I must share a bit of background information. The reason for my mother, and I's arrival to this destination, was due to a fire we had been in. Because of the crisis my mother, family dog (Chiweenie breed) and myself, were forced to leave our home of almost 13 years, because the fire left it unlivable. This was something that we shared with the front desk attendant upon arrival, and he was very nice to the both of us. We informed him that we had a medium size dog, and he said that it was fine, as Motel 6 is pet-friendly.
When we arrived all we had was what we had managed to get out of the apartment so far, and very little money. We didn't know it at the time, but this is where we would spend the next month and a half. My mother and I ended up getting very sick during the first month of our stay with the flu. We were constantly weak with fever, coughing, and at times vomiting. Because of our condition we chose to not allow housekeeping in for the duration we were ill.
One day in the afternoon of February 20th 2015, I got up and began to sort clothes that needed to be washed. My mother and I had just received a donation from a friend so that we could do laundry. I had just found out that the Motel 6 we were staying at, had 1 washer and dryer set located on the third floor. Earlier during the day housekeeping had just dropped off some fresh linen, and at our request allowed us to make the bed ourselves because we were still very sick. Housekeeping informed us that they would pick up the old linen the following day. As I was pulling out things to wash and microwaving a Styrofoam cup of Theraflu, we received a knock on the door. Like most dogs my dog began to bark, and I proceeded to pick her up and answer the door.
Once the door was opened, an average size Indian man stood before me with a frown on his face. The first thing he said to me was "Why didn't you inform us that you had a dog?" I told him that I had checked my dog in almost a month ago when we first arrived. He insisted that we hadn't and then went on to say that there was a smell coming from our room that was coming into the hallway, and he wanted to check inside. Now keep in mind my mother and I were very sick and couldn't smell anything let alone breathe out of our noses. I let him in and he looked at the clothes on the floor and said that the room was messy. He also said that the room smelled bad.
He then looked on the edge of my mother's bed and saw the linen housekeeping had given us to replace our beds with, and asked how we had gotten extra sheets and pillow cases. I informed him on what housekeeping and I had discussed and he was clearly upset. He said that he would be sending housekeeping back to our room and we were to let them in. I told him that wouldn't be a problem and he left our room. That was the first encounter I had with the manager of the building. I had never saw him throughout the whole month we were there, but I later found out that his name was Hiral **.
Immediately after he left I began to bag the clothes I planned to wash, strip the bed and replace it with the new linen, and make the room as neat as possible. After tidying I began to get on my hands and knees and wipe the floor with a mixture of Fabuloso, water and a bit of Mr. Clean. About a half a hour after I finished cleaning, a member of housekeeping came into the room and asked me what exactly needed to be done. Housekeeping looked around and said that the room looked and smelled fine, but decided to take the old linen, and mop/sweep the floor. Once housekeeping left I immediately called the front desk where Mr. ** was stationed, and asked if he would come give his stamp of approval for the room. He said that he would, but never came to check the room.
However the universe is a pretty funny place. As I mentioned before, we had been there almost a month at this point and aside from the toilette occasionally getting stomped up we had never had any issues with our room. But this particular day Mr. ** was to come check to see if our room was to his liking, my dog got locked in the bathroom. We called the front desk, told him the situation and he came to unlock the bathroom door. While he was unlocking the door I asked if he could check the room out while he was here and he said no he had to get back to the front desk. He unlocked the bathroom door, and then proceeded to rush out of the room. He was standing right there and wouldn't even peek around the corner to approve the room.
A little later I went to the front to see if I could get a new room key, because mine wasn't working, and when I asked him if he had ever confirmed rather or not we checked our dog in, he said that he saw that it was recorded we had did so. However he never apologized for accusing me of not doing so. The following day we were to pay for another week's stay at the motel, since we hadn't heard back from the new apartment we had applied for yet. Our pastor had volunteered to come out and pay the bill on our church's behalf. When we didn't hear anything from the pastor, we called to see if he was running late. He then informed us that he had in fact came, and Mr. ** refused to allow him to pay for another week. After hearing this I got dressed and went out into the lobby to speak with Mr. **.
Once I reached the desk I struggled a bit to speak, because my voice had still not returned due to my having the flu. I asked him why he had refused to let us pay for another week. He stated that he didn't want us to stay because of the smell. I was dumbfounded. Just the prior day I had asked him numerous times to come and see if the room was more to his liking. I even pointed out the fact that he wouldn't look at the room even when he was standing right inside the front door. He then told me that when he had come to unlock the bathroom door, the smell wasn't as bad but he still smelled it a little, and we would have to leave.I must pause the story here to tell you the reader, that at no point had I become disrespectful. I never raised my voice as I didn't have one to begin with, but I also try to live my life in humility. I understood that I was in his establishment, and like it or not I needed to be there for the time being.
Once he told me that he wanted us to leave, I begin to plead with him. I told him that it was very hard to find a motel/hotel that took pets, and that wasn't extremely expensive. He pointed in the direction of another hotel across the street, and said they took pets. I reiterated my point about our funds not allowing us the privilege to stay there, and that we were fire victims. I told him that the prior day, I had gotten on my hands and knees while still sick, to clean the room with cleaning products. I also made sure that my laundry was sorted and bagged. I also told him that, by the time housekeeping came to clean the room to his standards there was nothing to do, but remove the old linen. His reply was yet another blow to my feelings. He stated that I shouldn't had used my cleaning products, and housekeeping was to use his chemicals to clean the room. I chose not to address that statement, as it was his room.
I then went on to ask if there was another room we could switch to. I told him that prior to I and my mother getting the flu, we smelled an extremely musty spicy odor in the room, when we first arrived. He didn't really respond to my question. I was later informed by another resident, that the strong musty odor we smelled upon arrival, was some type of curry. I remember asking him if he had a heart. His reply was, of course he had a heart, that is why he didn't ask us to leave the day before, but instead allowed us to stay our last paid night. I asked him what exactly did he smell wrong with the room. He said that it didn't smell fresh, and it just didn't smell hygienic. He also pointed out that someone had called the front desk at 11 pm the prior night, to report barking from our dog. He said that it was his duty to make sure all guest were comfortable.
However, he said that his main concern wasn't the barking, as he understood that dogs were like kids, and his main concern was the smell. He said that he might have to redo the whole room on our account. I couldn't believe that this is how he was treating fire victims. Earlier in the day my mother had asked him, how he could overlook the smell of cigarettes and marijuana (which was strictly prohibited), but could desire to kick us out on account of our belongings smelling like the oil fire we had just been in. His only response, was that in cases when we smelled such things, it was our duty to report it.
I'm going to pause the story here yet again to address the barking that was heard that night. Once he said that someone had called the front desk complaining about barking at 11 pm, I knew exactly the incident he was speaking of. That night my mother, I and our dog, heard people having wild sex in the room next to us. The walls were so thin that one could be heard, coughing, laughing, talking, and yes having sex. Not only did we hear the smacking, moaning, and thumping that was happening next to us. We heard the language that led up to it. All the intimate sexual things that are suppose to remain between the two engaging in the intercourse, we heard. So that night, once the two parties involved began to act on their emotions, my dog began barking because she thought someone was being hurt. To mask the noise we chose to simply turn up the television, and coerce her to go to sleep.
The whole barking incident lasted a brief total of no more than two minutes. To be completely truthful my dog only barked when someone knocked on our door, when I left the room, or when she heard loud noises coming from other rooms. However I must admit that when she barked it was really loud though brief. To address the issue of privacy once more, I feel the need to point out that our main issue was the room next to us that we shared an inside door with. For some reason, we were always able to hear in great detail things that were taking place, and I'm sure vice versa. On our opposite side however we heard faint moaning and bumping noises once, or twice, but not as loud or intrusive.
Getting back to the story, Mr. ** ended up saying that he would allow our pastor to pay for a few more days, on the condition that we allowed housekeeping to come everyday, and get our linen changed every other day. He told me that after a period of three days, if the smell continued we would have no choice but to leave. Our pastor returned, and ended up paying for yet another week instead of three days. We were told that if after three days we were still asked to leave, we would receive the remaining balance from the week paid.
When we first arrived the initial fee for one week was 350 dollars. However our pastor was told that we would have to pay 420 dollars that week, as the price had risen. I found it a bit odd, however I understood that hotels/motels tend to raise their prices due to whatever is happening in town that week. Though as I recall, I don't believe that there were any events going on that would boom business that particular week, though I could be wrong.
Later that night after Mr. ** had left, I went back to the front desk to speak with the attendant who had initially checked us in. I asked if he could come to our room and help us figure out what we could do about the smell. When he came he said that the room was clean, however there was a brief smell of something he couldn't put his finger on coming from by the bed my mother slept on. I told him that our belongings were packed by her bed, and they smelled like water, soot, and burnt oil from the fire, and we were going to wash them as soon as possible. He told me not to worry and that housekeeping would come and clean everyday. He stressed that the situation would be handled, and the whole time he was very sweet to us, and for that I am grateful.
And so begins an agonizing week for us. The next few days we complied with the conditions of Mr. **. And daily housekeeping came in swept/mopped the floor, took our used towels, removed trash, and replaced linen. One day I decided to ask the cleaning ladies what products they used to clean our room. Of course they had no idea why I was asking, as it sounded like small talk. My eyes widened when Fabuloso and Mr. Clean where among the cleaning products named. Wow the same cleaning products I used. The same products Mr. ** told me not to use on his floor because he wanted housekeeping's chemicals used.
I wondered if Mr. ** thought that we were just nasty people because of the misfortunate state he met us in. I wanted to leave a note for him saying "News flash, we are not the creators of Mr. Clean and Fabuloso." Of course I didn't, and chose to instead write down every detail in my journal, which I am now sharing with you, the reader. I can't explain how hard it was to sleep at a place you've paid to be in, yet feel so unwanted. Everyday was like carrying the world on my shoulders. If kicked out, we would have nowhere to go. There aren't very many places that accept dogs. We had no family members that were willing to accept all three of us, and being that we had just escaped a fire, we refused to be separated.
I am a person that believes that a dog is a member of the family. They are the most loyal creatures I've ever encountered. I've had my dog since she was a very small puppy, and she had been through a fire too, so I wasn't going to give her up just to sleep on someone's floor. My mother has numerous health problems, and the day before our fire, she had just had surgery. And here I was at a place that was suppose to be a refuge for the time being, wondering if the owner was going to kick us out. With the coins donated to us, I went to the third floor of the establishment everyday washing and rewashing everything we had, trying to get the smell of burnt oil and mildew out of our clothing. I wish I could have thrown everything away, but they were all the belongings we had at the time. I had no problems keeping the room tidy, as my dog is trained to use potty pads.
I remember visiting the front desk speaking with the attendant that checked us in. I asked him if there were any handicap rooms available so that my mom could have the assistance she needed while in the restroom. However I was informed that both handicap rooms were out of order. During the days we waited for Mr. ** to check the room, I would take my Bible and go sit in the lobby. I fasted and prayed for God to touch this man's heart. I would sit and read scriptures to myself over and over again, in hopes that maybe my prayers alone would have the power to sustain us until our trial was over. I held my breath the next few days.
Finally the day came when Mr. ** was to inspect our room. It was a Tuesday, and I remember getting up early making sure everything was up to par, so that we could finally rest in peace. However the whole day passed and Mr ** refused to come into our room. Whenever we called the front desk he would say "I'll be there in a few minutes", and would never show up. When I went to the lobby to speak with him, his excuse for not coming was that he had other things to attend to in the building. He said that he couldn't leave the front desk unintended, and assured me that he would come to my room before the day was over. He never came.
I knew that he had just made up an excuse to not come. I assume that they were excuses because the front desk had been unintended numerous times. In fact there was a phone that had a note on it that read pick of phone for help. That phone sat right on the desk whenever someone wasn't standing there. At times when I would go read my Bible in the lobby, I would watch people pick up the phone, and wait a few minutes before receiving help. To me there was no reason this man could not take 2 minutes to inspect a room, except the fact that he may not have wanted to. We had complied with all of his demands, and he couldn't even have the decency to keep his word.
When evening came, and still no word from Mr. **, I decided to call the front desk once more. Mr. ** answered, and I asked if he was going to be able to come see the room today. He told me that he would send the attendant that checked us in. I stressed to him that we really needed an answer on rather or not we could stay. He said that he understood, and the attendant would be there before the night was over. The whole time in dealing with Mr. **, he always gave us the run around.
Later on that evening the attendant we initially dealt with came to our room and approved it. He said that it smelt fresh and that we had managed to get rid of the smell. He said that he would let Mr. ** know, and relay the message to us, on rather or not we would be able to pay for the extra week we needed. Days went by with no word, and instead of paying for an extra week the day it was due with Mr. **, I chose to pay a day early with the attendant that had been so kind to us. I didn't want to risk dealing with Mr. ** any more. When I was paying for our last week, I spoke with the attendant about how awful Mr. ** had made us feel. He told me that sometimes when people come to motels they damage property, and aren't clean. He said that though our case was different, Mr. ** treated us that way, because there were instances where they had to redo whole rooms because of people's carelessness.
The rest of our stay went without the threat of being kicked out, but saying the vibe had changed from refuge to uncomfortable would be an understatement. We continued to hear the occasional moaning of random lovers throughout the week, seasoned with barks and whining from other resident's dogs. We constantly felt as though we were under the radar. Whenever I would see Mr. ** in passing, he wouldn't speak or look at me. I want you, the reader to understand that at no time was Mr. ** disrespectful, violent, or unprofessional. He never raised his voice or threatened us in any way, other than wanting us to leave. However I must say that in my opinion he was all business and no heart. We never saw him smile, he had an extremely standoffish personality, and wasn't friendly.
When you are going through a situation as difficult as ours, you would be surprised at how much of an impact a simple smile would make. Again in my opinion, outside of seeing that Mr. ** was made of flesh and bone, emotionally he lacked the human characteristics of compassion, empathy, and love toward others. Outside of our case, I witnessed two occasions of his negative dealings with people. In one instance he was asking another resident to leave immediately, because they had forgotten to checkout at 11 am. The couple had been gone for the first part of the morning and was returning when they ran into Mr. **. I overheard them trying to repay to stay another night, at his refusal. On the second instance I was passing him in the hall, when he was speaking a little stern towards one of the housekeepers for forgetting something. Again never raising his voice, yet always having a serious, emotionless energy about him.
Though I share that bit of information with you all I must say that what I heard and saw was only from the outside looking in, and I can only speak candidly about my particular experience. If you are just passing through on business, or vacation, you should have no problem staying at this location. If you are someone in my case, I would urge you to find somewhere else to spend your money. Outside of quick rendezvous and overnight stays, this place should be passed up as long as Mr. ** is running it. With the amount of money we spent to stay at that motel a month and a half, we should have been able to rest without the fear of being put out on the streets. Things like smells can be fixed. When individuals are paying to stay in your establishment they deserve to be treated like humans and not trash that needs to be taken out.
If he would have had any compassion, he would have understood, that as fire victims every dime we had went into his establishment, Every pizza that was ordered, all the bottled water, cleaning supplies, money, and countless other things we received while staying there, were from people who had hearts for others in need. When we stayed there we had our own trash bags, soap, shampoo, and other necessities that motels already provide. If he would have talked to us about why the clothes were on the floor, and why the smell was there, he would have understood that we had been in an oil fire and our clothes were getting sorted for laundry. Knowing that you are staying in a place that you aren't wanted is enough to make anybody uneasy, so much that we decided to leave a day early once the opportunity presented itself.
As I stood by the front desk waiting for someone, Mr. ** came around the corner and asked what I needed. I told him that we were checking out, and he said okay I was free to just go. I asked if he could print me off a receipt of my stay, and he did so. While he was printing off my receipt I asked if we were welcome to come back in the future, just to see what he would say. He said that we could, but he would no longer offer extended stays, only overnights. Then he went on to say that he would be clearing out all of the pets before the weekend, because there was a problem with barking. He handed me my receipt, and I told him bye. That was it. No "Thank you for your business", good luck", nothing. He just went back to doing what he was doing before I interrupted him. When I left, I knew that if I had anything to say about it, he would never have my business again, not that I think he would mind.
Ever since leaving his establishment I would get a sad feeling when driving past it. I hated to even be on the same street as the building. It's like all the uneasiness I felt while staying there, would come back to me even though my ties with that place have long since been broken. I'm hoping that in writing this review, I will be able to leave everything negative that I experienced from their behind, while also preventing the same treatment from happening to someone else. I have to reiterate that my whole stay wasn't bad given the circumstances that brought me there. Again I ran into staff with beautiful heartwarming personalities. The cleaning ladies were awesome individuals, as well as the attendant who checked us in. He always remembered to treat us like human beings first, and customers second.
Mr. **. If you are reading this I want you to know that I forgive you for the way you treated my mother and I. I've prayed for you constantly since leaving your motel, and I wish nothing but the best for you and your family. I look at my experience as a lesson more than a situation in which I constantly had my feelings hurt. Because of you I will always remember to show kindness and love towards everyone I meet, especially the unfortunate. I'm not sure if what I'm saying means anything to you, or if it ever will, but just know that every word I've taken time to type is sincere. Farewell.
Though I write this review from a personal, opinionated yet honest standpoint, I understand that business tends to come first. This particular Motel 6 is a privately owned branch of the company. While reading over the policy for Motel 6 I saw that Mr. ** never violated any terms of my staying there. As a Motel 6 owner, you have the right to ask whoever you want to leave. You also have the right to ask dogs to be removed if you deem them disruptive. Although I understood that he didn't violate any policies, I still made it a point to document and report the way he treated us. I called customer service, explained our situation and opened up a case against him.
Rather or not it does anything, I still encourage anyone who has felt mistreated by an establishment owner to report it. We as consumers may not have many rights, but you do have a voice. There are power in numbers. Do not stand for cold unequal treatment. None of these businesses would exist without people like us using the services they provide. When more people come in town, prices go up, when there are less tourist prices go down. They depend on our business to thrive, so do not accept unfair treatment. We as consumers, and owners need each other point blank. List of things I noticed during my stay: 1. Side entrance to building, had a broken key lock, which meant anyone could enter. 2. The elevator door would stall before closing. 3. Strong stench of curry throughout the first floor.

We booked the Motel 6 Biloxi for a brief midweek getaway. The room was nice enough but lacking essentials such as a hairdryer and iron. We were kept awake all night by a family with unruly kids that ran up and down the hall the entire night. We received hang up calls from kids inside the hotel no less than 10 times during the night. No sleep whatsoever. Our room was never cleaned the following day and we had to request clean towels on our own. We finally decided to check out after one night. We spoke to Matt, the manager on duty. Informed him of the terrible night we had and he offered a refund of that night. He was very quick to take care of the problem.

I had to clean my own room, get my own towels, the room was infested with roaches and when I complained the clerk called me a ** and threatened to physically remove me from a building I was already leaving. When I saw the manager (who wasn't supposed to be on the premises) he denied he was the manager and disappeared. I will never ever recommend nor stay in Motel 6 again!

On July 16 I made a courtesy reservation at Motel 6 in Whitby, Ontario. When we got to the Motel we were informed that their systems were down and assured our room would be saved when we returned later that evening. When we were heading back I called to confirm and was told that our nonsmoking room was given away and all they had was smoking. We had our children so we were forced to try and find accommodations elsewhere but unfortunately there were no rooms in town, and we were forced to drive back to Ottawa, with our autistic child who is on a strict sleep regime. After 5 days and 2 emails I have not heard a thing back and consider this very poor business practice. I will personal go on every social media outlet and let them know that Motel 6 does not give a crap about its customers or their complaints. Don't stay at this motel, find a place that cares.

We stayed at Motel 6 in Des Moines Iowa on fleur drive. To start it was very hot out that day. When we walked into the room it was hot in it, we actually went and bought a fan at a store close by. The floor was gross very dirty. We didn't want to even take our shoes off. The bedspread were very old. There was hair and dirt on the bed. The bathroom smelled of cigarettes was a no smoking room, bathroom walls had yellow streaks down them, burn marks on sink. We were very disappointed in the place. I would never recommend anyone to stay there.

I tried to contact Motel 6 directly. I got a busy signal on the phone & my email bounced back to me stating their inbox was full. I have officially run out of patience. My mother in law booked us 4 nights at one of your Carlsbad Motel 6 locations. IT WAS AWFUL. She booked it through booking.com and I know she is trying to deal with them in regards to how bad our stay was but they've basically told her they can't do anything. So I wanted to bring our problems to you directly before leaving any angry reviews etc. I suffer from anxiety and severe sleep deprivation to the point where I have lost over half of my hair.
This trip was supposed to help me relax as I try to get healthy and it certainly did not. In fact, I lost a few chunks of hair during my stay which only adds to my anxiety. I do not believe in being mean for the sake of my frustration so I am hopeful that you can offer us some type of customer service solution. We did our best to make the most of a bad situation so our vacation was not ruined, but it was a rough start to our trip for sure.
After our long trip to the hotel, we got there and they said they couldn't check us in because when we paid online, it was just in case we didn't show up so we could be charged, but since we did show up they needed to run the card in person. There was a lot of confusion about it and it was frustrating. We ended up waiting outside in the parking lot with our 5 year old, for an hour while we waited on my father in law to show up and repay with his credit card.
Not sure if that is a typical process, but it was really inconvenient. I'm not sure what we would have done if they were not on vacation too. We arrived to check in about 6pm and didn't actually get to be in our room until after 9pm. After the long wait to get into our room, we started bringing up our bags. Right away the room smelled musty and weird. I noticed on the bed there were several white crusty spots on the larger bed. Gross! But a simple fix. We had housekeeping change the bedding for us.
I forgot to take a picture, but my husband found a black bra hanging up in the bathroom, not ours. Gross again! I could not find the smell at first. We used an air freshener and Lysol. The smell was not going away. I woke up 4 times in the middle of the night with an Asthma attack, it was horrible. If you've never woken up to an asthma attack before, well be glad! It is a scary feeling. It left me completely exhausted. The next morning I started looking everywhere to find what could be causing the smell. I found mold on the wall of the bathroom. We immediately left to target and got some Lysol Mold and Mildew cleaner. I didn't have much faith in the motel cleaning staff at this point and wanted to make sure it was really cleaned well so I knew we were all safe from breathing it in.
We were already told that there were no other rooms for us and we had already looked into checking out and staying somewhere else at this point. Comicon and summer vacation meant we were left with the option of either staying somewhere terrible, or driving home and paying all the money for vacation without the vacation. Two options NO ONE wants to have to decide on. My Daughter and I had to leave while my husband cleaned the room. He scrubbed the mold as well as all around the whole wall and floor. We sprayed any surface possible in the entire room with Lysol spray and left our door open for a while to air out. The staff was very friendly and they felt bad for us. I can appreciate that to a point, but, I didn't want pity. I wanted a clean relaxing room. We were told they were booked solid and only could offer us the business card of an offsite manager who would likely take 1-2 weeks to get back to us.
Our take away, it seemed like you all didn't feel the need to keep up with the rooms or take care of your customers, because most people were in and out in a night or two with no other options. I do not believe where we were cares at all about customer service. Every time we were in the lobby the staff was very friendly and kind, but couldn't do anything and there was always a line of people complaining about something.
We felt like we were on this beautiful vacation until we got to our room. Then it felt like we were slumming it in the ghetto. When a room charges $548 for 4 nights, you do not expect the filth we were stuck with. The beds were awful and uncomfortable, the drain was broken and at night bugs came crawling through the cracks in the door so we had to wedge towels around the door. We borrowed blankets from my mother in law as well as towels since we used ours to block out the bugs. Thankfully after our 4 days were up, we were heading to a beautiful resort (Grand Pacific Palisades) which made our vacation a fun and memorable one. Had we not been staying longer and this was our only time there, it would have been a vacation from hell.
I will include the pictures I took in our room from our time there. I feel like my mother in law paid a lot for us to stay there and it was definitely not a sanitary environment nor was it worth the high price she paid. It was what I would have expected from a $29.99 room. I know it is still a motel 6, but basic cleanliness is something I didn't expect to have to worry about. We did the best we could to make it work so our trip was not ruined. We are NOT happy customers. I don't plan to stay at any motel 6 ever again. Our friends and family were and are horrified as well. If there is anything you can do to make it up to us, we would sure appreciate it. Otherwise, we will pass on any future with your company. Thank you for your time.

When we called the front desk the second time she said for us to handle it!!! Seriously??? We paid to rent that room and we have to go take care of your problems. I DON'T THINK SO!!! We couldn't get any rest because this continued and the woman at the front desk wouldn't do anything. After the 3rd call, we packed up and left! The lady was very rude and she charged us more than the advertised price. She refused to return any of our money. The room itself wasn't too bad minus the hair in the bathroom and the burn holes in the blankets.

My fiance have stayed at this motel many times before because of location and price. This time we paid 309.00 for 7 days. We had been in our room for 4 days and room service had not been touched by 3 pm. I was being nice and stripped the bed and put all the linens by the door. When I pulled the sheets off there was blood and fecal matter on the mattress cover. I took my linens to the office, waited for her to get off the phone, told her what was going on. She proceeded to tell me we had not been there 4 days and that I was a ** and continued to use foul language to me. I never cursed at her directly until she did myself also... And then they only wanted to refund my fiance $42 when if you do the math we should have received $177.
There were 2 people in office when I went in. By the time I walked out of the office there were at least 5-7 men in there and one woman. And then their friends who they let live there were outside yelling and threatening me. Men were threatening a woman. I really really really hope there can be some reconciliation to this matter.

I checked in on a Fri., was asked if I wanted to see the room first before I paid.. I did, yeah it was a bit small but I would manage. It was actually enough room for one bedroom but two beds were put in. One was up against the window and air conditioner. The other was by the bathroom door. If you sit on the foot of the bed you can't open the door.. That wasn't the worst. It smelled, had to buy a can of spray. There was a huge spider, no place to put your clothes, did have a few hangers but no drawers, no table, but of course there was no room for that.
Left and came back, the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking and outlet in the bathroom was not working.. Did request a room change and they gave me no problem. I asked if all the rooms were the same size and they were. Both TV's in both rooms was snowy and you couldn't watch certain channels. I guess there were some bad connection or something. It was a scary place. Loud outside. People actually living there had birds outside their room in cages. It wasn't a pleasant place. When they say Motel 6 we leave the light on, it won't be for me. I will never go back there. It is horrible to be in a tourist location.

On July 16, 2015 I stayed at the Motel 6 in Meridian, MS for one night. There were no lower level rooms available and I had no choice but to take a room upstairs. In pulling into the parking spot, I realized it was a handicapped spot. There was a Hispanic male sitting on the curb of the spot that was available and I stepped out of my car, explained that I needed to move to the spot. His leg were stretched out in, and proceeded to back my car up and park. Needless to say, the man did NOT even budge and try to move out of my way. Upon check-in, I had asked the front desk if there was a microwave in the room. The girl said "no, but there is one here by the vending machines."
The noise level in room 209 is unbearable. You hear every single vehicle going down the interstate. I got up the next morning, got my things together, and drove to the front office to use the microwave. I swear to you that the microwave did not have the element or the glass plate that sits on top of it. When I opened the door to it, the odor almost made me throw up. There was at least 1/2 inch of some type of fluid on the bottom, all sides, inside door and top of microwave. I immediately shut it before I threw up and just chalked it up to a bad experience.
After reading some of the other reviews, I will now say that Motel 6 will never see me again. On the trip to Houston, I had stayed at one in Jennings, LA with no problems. The one in Meridian is nothing short of disgusting. Granted, the room was just under $41, but I'd rather pay $30 or $40 more and feel like I'm clean when I walk out. Whoever owns/manages this place needs to find another career. Truly disgusting. The tip of the iceberg was the microwave. It never occurred to me to check it the night that I paid for the room. I took it for granted that it would be clean. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! Honest to goodness, I wouldn't even put a cockroach in that thing. Filthy, filthy, filthy.

Motel 6 in Mechanicsburg, PA - I booked 2 rooms for the July 4 weekend. I am an AARP member. I read on the Motel 6 website that they have a later check out for AARP members. Anyway during our 3 day stay, not once did anyone come to clean the rooms or empty the trash. We had to walk to the cleaning cart that never made it to our rooms to get towels. The motel wasn't full and we were informed that it was recently renovated. We found a dog jerky treat on the floor in our room I would guess from the last guest that stayed there.
We were practically chased out of the room on Sunday Morning at 10:55 am. The man actually stood in front of our door till we left the room. I thought that was quite rude of him. We did complain to the front desk, but I don't think it mattered. I do believe the three people that worked there were related. This company does not care about their employees whatsoever. Speaking from experience, my wife was a manager for the company. They transferred us from Venice, Florida to Destin, Florida to manage this place as they needed it so badly. However, road gas allowances and moving allowances, my wife was not notified about what she could and could not do. So the company did a review on her and fired her over a simple gas receipt - where she got gas for the U-Haul truck that they rented. But the company U-Haul gave her the truck two days early because the truck was not reserved, very kind of them, but the gas receipt does not match up with the day that the company has for the U-Haul truck and they don't care. They're claiming she stole gas when U-Haul had courtesy enough to let her take the truck and load it two days earlier, knowing that we had a lot to do in a short time.
However upon getting the truck, it needed fuel. My wife gassed it up with the company expenses as she thought she was doing right. And they are firing her because U-Haul gave her the truck two days earlier and they don't want to hear it. How's that for caring about people and employees? I would not rent a place here if it was the last place on earth, nor what I recommend anybody ever coming to work for this company.
They moved us 500 miles away from our hometown to fire my wife a short time later. And we don't have anywhere to go or any place to live as she was an on-site manager. This was our place to live and her job, and we have nowhere to go and no way to get there. Very nice of them to give us a seven day notice to get out of their property unfairly. Thank you very much, Motel 6 Venice - very lovely to do business with you. My family is now homeless due to you. Over I'm easily $88 gas receipt - that was for your move. I will take further action on our losses.

We stopped at Motel 6 in Pocatello ID 83202, on June 23, 2015. To start with the room stunk really bad. There was a no smoking sign on the door. The room was not clean white powder all over the floor, it had not been swept or mopped. No coffee in our room, no bucket for ice no nothing. The TV didn't work there were no batteries in the remote. It was after 10 at night they wanted me to come and get batteries. We were in the last room the one farthest away from the office. They did send a fix it man. He was there about 30 minutes. But he finally got it fixed. I can assure you we, my husband and I will never select any Motel 6 again.

We made reservations for two rooms at the Motel 6 in Waxahachie, TX, for the third night of our move from SW Utah to Houston. As soon as we entered the rooms we saw roaches crawling on the floors. They were also under rugs and between mattresses. While my wife started to gather our belongings, I went to the front desk and informed them that we had to leave, could not stay, as the rooms were infested with bugs. The front desk person didn't say anything. I asked if there was another Motel 6 around and he provided directions. I asked if that hotel was without bugs and he nodded yes. We left the roach-infested hotel, turning in our room keys and went to the other Motel 6.
3 weeks later, after finally getting settled in our new home, I noticed on our bank statement that we were still being charged for the two roach infested rooms. Even after calling the Motel 6 corporate office basically told me to pound salt. They offered to send a coupon for a one-night, one-room free stay but would not credit back the charge. They got our money for two rooms at their other location, but still charged us for two roach infested rooms for that same night. And we spent less than 5 minutes in those rooms, immediately seeing roaches all over the place. I didn't accept their coupon offer as I will never again stay at a Motel 6. Be careful and read the reviews. Many are dumps and bug infested. Absolutely the worst hotel I have stayed at in all of my 60 years. Stay away from Motel 6. You are taking a huge risk booking a room at their hotels.

My husband and I drive a truck and we broke down and had to put truck in shop. Truck repair shop is paying for our room until truck is fixed cause we are very short on money. We have been here for 2 days. Got up on the 3rd day. They tell us truck is almost ready. My husband goes and talks to lady at front desk and tells her that repair shop is coming to pick him up then he will be coming back to pick up me and our 3 dogs. She says "No problem, they can stay even if you go over the 12 checkout with no charge." After he left she calls me and says I have to come and pay for another night NOW! I told her he would be right back but she said I need to pay or get out. I told her "I guess me and the dogs will sit out on curb (106*) till he gets back." She said "OK COOL".

I have been at one other Motel 6 in the area. Very clean rooms and pool but at night someone was cooking crack and selling it to the construction works who then were fighting the parking lot on who smoked the last rock...but we stayed. So I thought after all the commercials on the radio, things have changed, so I looked this one up. The pics were real nice. So I booked for me and my son to have a cheap little vacation 'cause I don't make much.
The room was really nasty - holes in the sheets and the walls look like a blind person painted them...the tub had a black ring around it. Me and my son, 'cause of a lack of money and my check not hitting the bank 'til Friday, was going to just bear with it and make the best of it 'til BAM...someone ODs 4 doors down. So we had to leave and drive straight back home in Augusta, GA. And I was told I could only get one day refunded (and I was on in there for 4 hrs).
I will be seeing a lawyer to see my rights or you can just give me the whole 96 dollars back and I will let it go. Not only did I waste my money, but ruined my only vacation with my only son who is growing up fast. This will be posted to Facebook with your number and address if I do not get a reply. Also why do employees get to bring their babies to work and run around and their thug-looking boyfriends hang out in the lobby? My children age 2 and 9 months and my sig other went ahead and got a room. After an hour or so we noticed COCKROACHES! We told the owner and they did give us another room. Then when we woke up the toilet had leaked and When I told the owner they accused us of lying and said we put the bugs there! WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS?? I took pictures and MY MOM IS APPALLED THAT they TREATED US LIKE THIS! I guess because we were young with small children he thought we were homeless and that's the WAY they treat people they think have no voice? I'm NOT SURE BUT THIS MOTEL HAS ROACHES! I can't believe a business owner treats his consumers this way! Shame on Motel 6 and if you're ever in Marysville, CA do not stay at Motel 6 on E Street!!

My disabled husband, adult son, large female dog and myself stayed in Room 111 at the Brattleboro VT Motel 6 on Sunday June 30, 2015. We arrived around 9 PM. At first entrance to our room, there was a very strong gagging smoky smell (non-smoking motel); the door did not lock properly and there was a pee spray from a male dog on the wall near the door. I requested a change of room but was told there were none available on the first floor. I was provided a can of room spray to use and return immediately. The smoke alarm was going off and reception gave ME a new battery to install in the alarm. Our son stood on the bed and replaced the battery. A young male employee arrived an hour later to check on the smoke alarm; he stood in the doorway but did nothing as all was quiet then. The acrid smoke smell was in all the furnishings and made it difficult for us to breathe.
My husband is a heart patient and the smoke aggravated his congestion. Our son had the bed nearest the window; in order to breathe, he had to have the window wide open the whole time. Between 2 AM & 3 AM the smoke alarm started back up and no matter how much fussing, it would not stop chirping. My husband had to go out to our vehicle to try to get some sleep. By 5 AM I was so grumpy from lack of sleep (I am the driver and had an 8 hour trip ahead of me) that I went back to the office and was finally given the handicap room with 1 bed, 2 doors down from ours. My husband and I got a couple hours of smoke free sleep!
At checkout I commented that I should be given a refund for the horrible situation, but I was not. Each time I went back to the office, there was a new person on the desk, unaware of the situation. The following day I drove us home. LESS than 48 hours later my husband went to the Emergency Room at the Hospital with congestive heart failure.
We have stayed at the Brattleboro VT Motel 6 several times in the past with no complaints and a friendly helpful staff. This time was anything but. I feel I should be given a full or partial refund since a non-smoking motel should not have such an acrid smoky smell with a smoke alarm constantly going off which disturbs any chance of sleep.

I stayed at the location in San Antonio, Tx on 1604 and Bandera. I accidentally created 2 reservations and was charged for both! We stayed with them 1 night and I looked at my bank transactions and noticed the 2 charges. I called to see if this could be removed as we did stay with them. I was told that the manager would contact me and that she was out of town. I called everyday, only to get the same answer. I called Saturday morning and lo and behold, she's there and answers the phone! She yells at me, tells me it's my fault and hangs up in my face!
I walked over there as I work next door and she refused to talk to me. I requested the number to the complaint department and/or her supervisor and she stated that she would not give it to me and left the office and refused to come back in until I left. The absolute worst business ever! The way she went about it was very rude and unprofessional as a "manager". As I work next door, I will be sure to let everyone that comes into my office not to stay there! I will also be reporting them the BBB!! Also, as soon as we got there, there was a roach that crawled across the bed and the room reeked of cigarettes!

After getting checked in about 30 mins later, a bug man came pounding on our door saying the manager says he suppose to spray each room whether or not the guest is in the room. Also front desk called us at 1 am to see if we were checking in today. (I acknowledged that we were already checked in!) And why was she calling at 1 am? (She gave a lame excuse.) It rained that night and because of the front door being totally crooked (I took pictures) the floor had a big puddle of water. I arrived around midnight and was very tired. My check-in was a challenging effort. Due to the late hour I needed to use the small window rather than the lobby. A soft-spoken woman processed me in. It was very difficult for me to hear her as there were refrigerated vending machines and a very noisy air conditioner unit in the vestibule on my side of the window. I kept asking the woman to repeat herself. At one point I told her that I was sorry I couldn't hear her, but there was so much noise in the vestibule. She acted unconcerned and in fact walked away from the window to do things while checking me in on more than one occasion. This made it absolutely impossible for me to hear her.
I chose to make the most of the bad situation because of the late hour and being so tired. I just went along with the routine that I would expect for checking into a motel without really hearing any of the comments or direction from the unengaged young woman behind the window. Little did I know that this experience would be the most positive of the entire stay!!!
I will list the conditions that I encountered: The room door was stuck to the point that I had to hit it with my shoulder to get the door open. The PTAC (AC unit) did not have a temp adjustment knob so I was not able to set a comfort level. The PTAC discharge into the room was full of dirt... The remote for the TV did not function. I did get the set turned on at the set, but there was virtually no reception worthy of watching and consequently useless. The room was dirty and the bedspread was stained in several spots and general dirty. There were light fixtures with missing light bulbs, consequently the room was dimly light. (Perhaps to help hid the fact that the room was dirty?) No phone in the room to call the front desk. There was NO hot water at all. I let the faucet run for about 15 minutes and nothing but cold water. This was again the case in the morning.
There was black mildew and mold in the seams of the fiberglass shower enclosure. The shower head was all limed and calciumed up, yielding a poor spray. The sink was a semi-circular bowl and when you turned on the faucet all the water went right up the side of the bowl all over the front me. The smoke detector had been removed. When I walked from the shower to the bed, the bottom of my feet were black with dirt and I had to wash them with a cloth before getting into bed.The pool was drained and had things in the bottom of the empty pool. (This was not a huge concern as I didn't plan to use the pool, but was an amenity that I was paying for that was unavailable).
The final and most unacceptable event happened when I checked out. I ask for the manager and this younger woman identified herself as the Assistant Manager and wanted to know how she could help me. I told her that this motel experience was the most unacceptable motel experience of my entire life. And I proceeded to tell her some of the unacceptable things I had found in the room. I finished my summary with "you should be ashamed to charge $100 a night for a room like that." She offered no apology, excuse or remedy for this very unhappy customer. In fact, a male person who I can only assume was a co-worker (under her direction is she really was the Assistant Manager) spoke up and said, "** you **."
I told them both that I would be contacting Motel 6 Corporate Headquarters to report their unacceptable behavior and comments. I left without further interaction. Any Assistant Manager and employee who would be a part in treating a paying customer like this should not be an employee. I immediately got on my cell phone to the Customer service number on the Motel 6 website. I was on hold for 45 minutes and the call was dropped. This is unacceptable also and perhaps a consideration of why my experience was as it was. Management does not seem to be modeling good customer service behavior, so what is to be expected of employees?

While at DFW airport, I booked on Expedia Motel 6 @ 7800 Heathrow Drive (Irving, Tx). I called the hotel to see where I needed to catch the shuttle. The young lady on the phone was very detailed, and I wrote down her instructions. She told me to go to E35 "ground level" (I explained to her I was at baggage claim E34) I did exactly what she said. After about 45min of waiting on the van that says "Hotel connections" my husband called & someone told him to go to terminal A1 OR C1. Well, not being from TX I had no idea what to do, this airport has several construction areas.
So, I called the hotel about 5 times no answer, I wanted to speak to a manager. Hoping the manager could give us the exact location to be so we could catch the shuttle. I was put on hold for about 5 minutes before calling back and waiting another 2 minutes for the manager. I explained to him all I wanted to do was find the shuttle so I could go check in, at this point It was going in 1 hour and 10 min of waiting or trying to find the shuttle pickup. I heard the manager ask someone else where to go catch the shuttle he told me D1 or D40. I asked "could the driver just come where we are?". He said "if you want I can cancel the reservations", stunned I said "sir I'm tired and I'm just trying to get to your hotel".
I knew if he cancelled the reservations that my money would be tied up through Expedia for 3 to7 days (I did regret making that reservations through Expedia at this time). So he repeated for me to go to D1 or D40. I got off the phone and we took about 10 more minutes trying to figure out how to get to the pickup location. My husband found out we had to take a terminal van to the correct letter terminal. Well going to terminal D in a van was about a 7 to 9 minute ride. HUGE airport. Walking was out of the question.
Once we arrived at the correct terminal we waited there about 15 to 25 min, now we are going on 2 hours of waiting for a shuttle bus to the hotel. I called back to the hotel to see if they could radio the driver to let him know we are waiting. Which they did do. Once in the van we rode to another terminal to pick up a couple who was sitting in clear view as the van pulled up. The driver never got out of the van to address the couple, so we are sitting for about 5 minutes and my husband asked "why are we waiting?" He said "I'm waiting on a couple". So my husband starts to explain that we are tired, it's been 2 hours almost that we've been waiting. The driver says "I go where they tell me to go".
Something is mentioned over the radio and the driver gets out of the van to address the couple that has been sitting there all along. The couple told us the driver said "didn't you see my sign?" They explained to us that's not what they are used to, the driver never got out the van. So we leave and circle back around the airport which was a good 6 minute ride and guess where we end up???? At E35... Where we were originally waiting for 45 minutes, where an additional 3 people were picked up.
I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER MOTEL 6 or BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA AGAIN. The room was comfortable, and clean. I have nothing bad to say about the room. However, when I went to check out, the front desk clerk told me I have to print my receipt from Expedia. I have never heard that. Overall I didn't like how the manager handle the phone call, nor did I agree with no one really being able to give me a precise location to wait for the shuttle upon my first time calling. I've learned you get what you pay for, I would have paid more for better service. While waiting at the airport I saw several Westin, Embassy Suites, Sheraton, Holiday Inn etc, shuttles that were timely, professional and neat.

Apparently the crew of the Motel 6 at National City, CA #4829 1125 E. Plaza Blvd, National City, CA 91950, got angry at my wife for taking the extra TOILET PAPER home after we checked out. The next time we checked in, the receptionist made us put a $20 deposit. I asked her why and she said that people had been taking things and that we were going to have our room checked before we left. That was the only thing we took, the extra toilet paper that Motel buys in bunches and probably costs them twenty to thirty cents a roll, if not less. We pay over $100 per stay at that location... What class-less personnel work there??? I asked the other guests about their deposit and they told me they were not required one.

I stayed at Motel 6 at 700 W. Expressway 83 in Mcallen, Texas on 06/21/2018 for one day. While I was in the Valley visiting my family I stayed here because this one location was near my grand kids. But to my surprise this Motel was the worst Motel I have stayed in while I travel to the Valley. The room was very small... The beds were very small and we had a 20" old fashion boxed TV in the room... The shower had no pressure and the temperature kept going from cold to hot. I was very disappointed. I did let the front desk know, because she called within 15 minutes of us being there. All she said was something about their remodeling done by August. That was going to make my stay more comfortable.
I didn't ask if I could get a refund because when she asked about my stay she should've offered to refund my stay, but she didn't. She just came up with "I'm sorry". Very disgusted by this location. I didn't leave because I didn't want to be dragging my grand kids around trying to find a Motel/Hotel. To top it off, I had to pay $2.99 for internet service. That totaling my bill to $62.78...while not only had to pay for it, but internet was not a stable connect...

We had reserved a room at the 5353 Midland Rd, Billings, MT 59101 location in which during the reservation process they tried saying the rooms are $77.03 plus tax even though the price listed in building and is the common price around the state is actually 65 plus tax. When we got there, there was no one at the front desk and no one answered the phone. We sat there for 25 minutes with one customer coming in with us and leaving. I even did a walk through to see if perhaps the clerk was helping a customer with their room but saw nothing but a big bag of trash (50-gallon bag) sitting in the hallway.
So we go to the Motel 6 just down the road, find out from the clerk there that they've been having problems at the other location. So she cancels a non-guarantee room and puts us in there and charges for only one person and says she's giving us a military discount (she didn't, I checked the receipt, but I'm glad for that as we're not military and she shouldn't be handing out that discount willy-nilly to appease rightfully pissed customers). Then when we got to the room it smelled--couldn't place the smell it was throughout the room, and light and vague but definitely present. And oh god the beds, they were so freaking old that the springs in them would stick then pop back out after you moved, it felt like being punched all night. Not impressed at all and hope to never grace another one with my presence.

I understand that the nightly prices go up past $108.99, which isn't right. Your motel doesn't offer any food, or internet like other motels/hotels. Many of your guests park on the handicap spaces, and during the winter the handicap area should be free of snow. There should be handicap ramps for all curbs. There should be part of your policy, no drinking, & no drugs. When any guests stay at your motel all your employees should always smile. All the employees should know how to remove any stain, and vacuum the beds on both sides. When something happens, and the guests always pays. You should give the guests credit. But you don't..
