Apparently the crew of the Motel 6 at National City, CA #4829 1125 E. Plaza Blvd, National City, CA 91950, got angry at my wife for taking the extra TOILET PAPER home after we checked out. The next time we checked in, the receptionist made us put a $20 deposit. I asked her why and she said that people had been taking things and that we were going to have our room checked before we left. That was the only thing we took, the extra toilet paper that Motel buys in bunches and probably costs them twenty to thirty cents a roll, if not less. We pay over $100 per stay at that location... What class-less personnel work there??? I asked the other guests about their deposit and they told me they were not required one.

I stayed at Motel 6 at 700 W. Expressway 83 in Mcallen, Texas on 06/21/2018 for one day. While I was in the Valley visiting my family I stayed here because this one location was near my grand kids. But to my surprise this Motel was the worst Motel I have stayed in while I travel to the Valley. The room was very small... The beds were very small and we had a 20" old fashion boxed TV in the room... The shower had no pressure and the temperature kept going from cold to hot. I was very disappointed. I did let the front desk know, because she called within 15 minutes of us being there. All she said was something about their remodeling done by August. That was going to make my stay more comfortable.
I didn't ask if I could get a refund because when she asked about my stay she should've offered to refund my stay, but she didn't. She just came up with "I'm sorry". Very disgusted by this location. I didn't leave because I didn't want to be dragging my grand kids around trying to find a Motel/Hotel. To top it off, I had to pay $2.99 for internet service. That totaling my bill to $62.78...while not only had to pay for it, but internet was not a stable connect...

We had reserved a room at the 5353 Midland Rd, Billings, MT 59101 location in which during the reservation process they tried saying the rooms are $77.03 plus tax even though the price listed in building and is the common price around the state is actually 65 plus tax. When we got there, there was no one at the front desk and no one answered the phone. We sat there for 25 minutes with one customer coming in with us and leaving. I even did a walk through to see if perhaps the clerk was helping a customer with their room but saw nothing but a big bag of trash (50-gallon bag) sitting in the hallway.
So we go to the Motel 6 just down the road, find out from the clerk there that they've been having problems at the other location. So she cancels a non-guarantee room and puts us in there and charges for only one person and says she's giving us a military discount (she didn't, I checked the receipt, but I'm glad for that as we're not military and she shouldn't be handing out that discount willy-nilly to appease rightfully pissed customers). Then when we got to the room it smelled--couldn't place the smell it was throughout the room, and light and vague but definitely present. And oh god the beds, they were so freaking old that the springs in them would stick then pop back out after you moved, it felt like being punched all night. Not impressed at all and hope to never grace another one with my presence.

I understand that the nightly prices go up past $108.99, which isn't right. Your motel doesn't offer any food, or internet like other motels/hotels. Many of your guests park on the handicap spaces, and during the winter the handicap area should be free of snow. There should be handicap ramps for all curbs. There should be part of your policy, no drinking, & no drugs. When any guests stay at your motel all your employees should always smile. All the employees should know how to remove any stain, and vacuum the beds on both sides. When something happens, and the guests always pays. You should give the guests credit. But you don't..

The room was $99.00 for myself. No coffee machine, no microwave, no fridge, only one ice machine- located in lobby 3 bldgs. away from my room. One ice machine for 250+ rooms. And had to pay $4.99 for wifi. Every motel/hotel I have stayed at it's free. I will never stay at motel 6 again. The next day same town I went to Howard Johnson's, got everything and a really clean nice room for $49.00. Motel 6 you lose. This motel 6 was in South Lake Tahoe.

Motel 6 on white Ln. Bakersfield CA. I just got the room I wanted - smoke free room. It smells like smoke and the bedspread looks really worn and had a big cigarette burn. I am truly disappointed on how this place is. I have stayed in Motel 6 throughout my travels and it's sad you don't check your business places out and keep them up to Standard. Don't you send out to check out your places?

Easy on the budget, hard on your back. If you're willing to make sacrifices like no breakfast, shampoo, soap the width of a credit card, hard lumpy bed, flat pillows, dirty rooms and bathrooms, left over items under the bed from previous occupants, then it's a great place to stay.

Booked online through Motel 6. When we got there no record. Asked for queen beds got full. Had to stay for 2 days - no room service i.e. didn't empty trash, no clean towels or bedding. TV was bad, snowy picture, couldn't get all the channels. This was the second time we stayed at Motel 6. I will tell you it will be our last and I will post this on facebook and everywhere else I can.

I wrote a review yesterday when I was denied the rate that I was quoted when I was paying for the room. Since then, the general manager, **, has since reviewed the reservation and although the staff member was not supposed to block off the reservation with a special rate, she did and because of that, he advised that he has to honor that and since charged me the rate I was quoted. I am very happy with the result and would like to make sure that you know this and that the problem has now been resolved. Many thanks for your website. Take care.

I booked the room with Motel 6 May 25, 2015 at 7:50 p.m. with **. She confirmed the senior rate at $89.99 per night from June 12 - June 19 inclusive. Reservation number is **. When we arrived (very late) on June 12, I checked with the fellow at the desk (very pleasant fellow) who confirmed to me to just pay for 4 days if I wanted to and I could square up with them in the next couple of days. When I went to pay for the remaining leg of our stay, a smart ** East Indian boy named ** told me the price was $189.99. I then was passed on to the manager who was at home ** who told his boy employee that if I didn't like it to leave. Please let me know if there is anything I can do about this.

Reservations made April 2014. No mention of chain change, or of hot breakfast mentioned when reservations were confirmed. Dirty bedding left on some beds from previous guests. Dirty towels left in room for the next guest. They were not washed. Half of the rooms reserved only had one bed per room. Most of the bus of 32 were men. Only 7 females. Air conditioning units in some rooms did not work. The temperature was 93 degrees for two days. One toilet was broken for two days. Carpets in majority of areas were not vacuumed. Pet friendly yes, clumps of white dog hair covered north landing and steps between floors two and three. Entry light to room had no fixture just wires hanging. Towel rack hanging by one nail, bottom 2" nail hanging free.
NO HOT water from June 10th early evening until June 11th at 10 00 p.m. No extra pillows for a roll away bed for a member of our bus. "We don't have any extra pillows." 1/4 of the elderly men were housed on the third floor. Most used canes to walk. No elevator for use. Ice machine did not function on first floor. "Use ice machine on second floor." Soda in cooler expiration dates of February 2014. Owner was there on Tuesday night when we checked in. Never seen her again. She must have been across the street at the upscale hotel she owned. I'm writing this on behalf of five members of our group. We could have stayed on the bus for the non existent service we didn't receive. My opinion that building should be shut down. Our stay was in Sedalia Missouri.

I booked a room thru Booking.com for Pocatello Idaho on June 12th. I was given room 127. Upon opening the door I could tell the floor had not been cleaned, so I then checked the beds which neither bed had been changed. Upon further inspection I found the phone to be filthy, ice tub very dirty, shower curtain stained and still wet from the previous guest, hair all over the shower. The manager (at least I think that's who it was) came and changed the bedding although left the dirty bedspreads on the bed put a new ice tub in and changed out the shower curtain. To me this is unacceptable. As a company someone should come to this location and show them what a clean room is.

My friend and I came to Motel 6 in Decatur GA on Candler Road.. When we got there we asked about the weekly rate price that was posted outside that's what got our attention.. But once I came in and ask the attendant she proclaimed that that wasn't the rate anymore. To top it off I still got the room and lo and behold they only had channels from 61-86 (unacceptable). So I try to use the room telephone and that wasn't working or on. Thank God we have cells. So we both went to complain and nothing happened... I also encountered a bedbug sucking my blood. Something has to give ASAP. We been here since June 1, 2015 and we paid up to June 8, 2015 so hopefully we can be compensated.

We checked into Motel 6 on Black Canyon Hwy after an exhausting 29 hour drive from Memphis, TN. We walk into the room that reeks of cigarette smoke although we asked for nonsmoking. Our sinuses were under attack already! We go to take a shower and no shampoo. I had to use bar soap to wash down my hair. That was nasty! We tried to use the wifi to contact some friends we were trying to contact in Phoenix and check our bank balances. Could not because you had to have a prepaid visa card to purchase minutes for the wifi. What!!! With as exhausted that we were, we would have to get dressed, go find a place that had prepaid cards just to access the internet and in a not-too-safe area of town on top of that??? Motel 6 may think they are saving money, but they will lose customers and business if they keep skimming off the top.

The only reason I give it one star, is because I can't give it zero. There's always something wrong with this room. The sink is stopped up. The toilet won't flush. The light bulbs are burned out. You only get about 20 channels on the TV - and one of them is a Spanish - speaking channel. Extremely noisy - you'll love it if you're a fan of fiestas until 1 A.M. In Jackson, MS, it's known for crime - (Gee, I wonder why?) Avoid this motel like the plague. I'll never stay here again.

I replied no and we went to room. After settling in I look out window and he is standing directly in front of window. I called front office to report it five times with no answer. Even called on cell phone instead of room phone. Called corporate on morning and filed complaint. Never again. If we had not been lost and exhausted we would have left. Pulled over to sleep for a few hours at a Motel 6 in Utah with my newborn, 2 year old, 8 year old, and husband. First entering the room, the room smelled like someone had just gone to the bathroom. I checked the beds like I normally do and found lots of long hairs all throughout the bed. There were also stains all over the bed and then the worst part is that after extensive searching I found a large bed bug on the bed that my oldest son was laying on. We immediately packed our things and left. I told the office and they gave me a refund. I also called corporate and they had an investigation done which they contacted me to tell me that their investigation came back positive for bed bug activity in that room. They then offered us a free stay at the Motel 6 of our choice like we would EVER stay at a Motel 6 again.

I had left some important paperwork of my sons (His Name on the papers) (same last name as mine), in the room, so I gave him instructions to pick it up as I was heading the opposite direction. (Friday) I get a call from both my sons that went to retrieve the paperwork at 10:45 (Check out is 11) that they had changed the key and that they would only issue another key to me. I call talk to **, and tell her the circumstances and she is not only no help but had an attitude like no one cares that's the way it is. She says I would have to pick the paperwork up myself.
I turn around head back get there Sat, (today) 5/16/2015, Just to find out that they did not hold it for me. They threw it in the garbage. I ask how after talking to my son and me this could happen just to get brushed off as they do not keep paperwork - it is thrown away. And I ask when does the garbage come they said everyday. Is this true? I would have spent all day trying to find said paperwork. I am beside myself asking how this can be and had to leave before I let them really know what I thought, just to see them laughing as I was leaving. Horrible place Horrible Staff. They all need to be drug tested, as this is no laughing matter and anyone with any scruples would have not acted in such a manner. Still pondering what I am going to do? Cannot replace the paperwork they were suppose to be Holding for me.

I turned on the light which woke my fiance up and showed him the little red bug crawling on my pillow.
He killed it which left blood on the pillow. As he moved his pillow there were more bugs and even bigger ones. We took our stuff and went to the front desk and reported it (I have pictures and video). The desk clerk could only say "I am so sorry. Do you want your money back?" We did get a refund. There was maltreatment by a latino housekeeping male, of which I've got a witness that he has a bad attitude. I complained to corporate, and heard six times "Oh, we don't do things that way". And was told I would be called back by corporate the next day. It did not happen that way. The ** female manager decided to side with the offender, because she believes that I am "inebriated" all the time. Yes, I do drink beer. I do not drive when I test over .08 with my own breath tester. I am a responsible user of my preferred medication, beer. I have never been inebriated here, just medicated. I was booked and paid up to 5/12/2015 due to having being evicted from my apartment due to a fire by the management there, who should have transferred me to an apartment that they were advertising was available there, as per the lease agreement.
This was the most appropriate location to temporally be housed pending a successful search for an apartment, which I have been turned down at one. The manager is a tee totaler, and a tee totaler is sensitive to so much as one beer. This is the basis of her siding with the minimum wage latino, instead of an advance paid up customer. Because of the event with the latino male, she came up with rules and regulations that seemed oppressive. I asked for a reasonable accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act, and she did not respect that. I was told that I would be able to stay through 5/13/2015 which was necessitated due to the fact that my direct deposit would not occur until then, and I was exhausted of resources.
The new rules arbitrarily imposed then were that I could not walk my dog shirtless, I could not go bare foot outside (and there is a pool just three doors down from me, not equipped with a dressing room), I could not sit in a chair, in my paid for room, in exterior shorts, shirtless, with the door open to enjoy the fresh spring air. I felt that I was being unfairly treated. But being transplanted from another state, I tried to emerge from a state of ignorance of the laws of the state of Tennessee. I could not find the laws of the state of Tennessee with respect to a "dress code" at a public accommodating. So I called the police department for advisement. They will not do that over the phone. So a 1 Blue had to come and speak with me.
I was advised that I am fully in my rights, so long as I am not exposing genitalia (of which I have never, ever done) to be dressed as I choose, unless the facility has a "Rules and Regulations" in document form to be available to the customer. I was also advised to go ask if they had such. So, I go to the night window, as I was banned from the lobby. I was told that they did not have such. Later, I was visited by 4 Blues and questioned. Long story short, they left, and I remained. This was 5/11/2015. The next day the manager arbitrarily revoked my paid up stay. I had to scurry out to somewhere else ASAP! She did not even care that could really mean that I would be standing out in the rain! Suits are in the works.

Motel 6 Findlay, OH - I made my reservations a month in advance online so there was no problem there. The program occurred once I checked in to this dump. I came to town for graduation weekend for my daughter from Bowling Green University upon arrival I pulled into the parking lot. In the parking I see a Loveseat and several chairs set out away from the building in a circle like this easy where you came to smoke. As I parked my car I look around and saw possibly college students sitting in the window of the ground floor rooms. This person had their back to the room and feet on the ground outside. As I continue to look around I observed several portable charcoal B.B.Q's knocked over and laying in the gravel outside the room a car missing its licence plates and bicycles chained to anything solid.
At check in presented my military I.D. in order to get the military discount and did receive it no problem. The clerk simply told me the price and room had to ask twice for directions to the room. As I walked down the hall, the building smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Upon arrival into the room I observed two beds neatly made with very well worn bedspreads. I turned on the air conditioning... it worked although very loud. Next I attempted to turn the television on, looked around and found the remote or should I say what was left of the remote. The remote was on the table a small black universal remote held together by scotch tape (I have a feeling that it had been tossed around and hit the floor or the wall a few times). I attempted to turn the television on and attempted to adjust the volume so I could hear the television over the loud air conditioning with the remote.
The volume went up slightly so I attempted to adjust the volume on the television. It raised the volume up approximately a quarter of the way and stopped. No matter what I did I could not adjust the volume of the television loud enough to hear the TV over the a/c. When I checked into my room I observed a nice small refrigerator and a microwave oven. I opened the refrigerator to place some items in, it was not very cold, in fact it was far from cold. I looked inside with the theory that maybe the temperature was turned up to save energy. No thermostat inside looked on the back. Yes there was a thermostat only one problem it didn't work.
Next I started turning on lights the two back by the bed worked the one by the mirror did not. The room had obviously been painted at least once as you could see almost as much paint on the wood trim of the mirror and other pieces of furniture as was on the wall. The carpet was a lovely shade of green with what I suspect was black from someone's oily work boots. House cleaning did make the bed and vacuum the room, did not worry about the edges just the center. Time for a shower, apparently they had a problem in the ceiling as you could see an attempted patch job in the ceiling drywall trying to add texture must be coming later. The same person who walked into the room with the black substance on their shoes also climbed into the bathtub, a feeble attempt may have been made to clean it up. The tub surround showed signs of mold and mildew from moisture behind the tub.
Overall I got a cheap place for a cheap price. I suspect that this place is party central when the college is in session. I am happy that it was just me and not me and my wife. She would not of been so patient. Suggestion, if Motel 6 is renovating their motels invest some money in this building or level it for parking for one the restaurant/bar/ fast food chains in the area. I will definitely think twice before I stay at a Motel 6 again in the near future.

The bed had a dirty blanket/coverlet on the bed, hadn't been dusted in forever, floors were not mopped, toilet had stains and urine all over the seat and bowl. My wife took all their bedding, pillows, towels, chincy shower curtain, and gave it to the office. The television was too dark and small to see from the bed or loveseat.
They checked in a group of people at 5am right next door. Was woken up by their partying since the walls are paper thin. My wife is seriously OCD and cleaned the entire room, put our own bedding on the bed, brought in our own towels, bought our own cleaners. The manager is very rude and indifferent. I went and checked in to the room and everything seemed fine and charged me for 3 nights... Come Sunday they told my sister she had to check out of the room that it was only booked for 2 days. I start looking to the receipt and they charged me 80.00 per night. When we went to the office to talk to the assistant manager she was very rude and told me that there was no rooms in Ocala that were cheaper than 80 and that I signed the receipt that was 172.78 and told me to leave the motel that I couldn't even pay for the room for tonight like my sister needed. I didn't look at the receipt too much because I already talked to the front desk staff and the total for the 3 nights I thought I was getting sounded right.
The room they said they were remodeling were definitely were done. They bathroom has broken tiles and huge marks all over the walls and the paint was just about gone on all the walls in the bathroom. There was also hair on the bathtub and the mirror. When I first checked in and told them about the hair they said they would send some to clean it and vacuum the floor that has stuff all over it. They never came that day nor the next when I told them again. The staff was very rude and didn't do their job at all and the assistant manager was the worst one of all. They wouldn't even talk to me about the problem with the price they just told me to get the stuff out of the room and leave instead of talking and trying to fix the problem... Never received a confirmation, there was only one room available, we did not want to miss it. We had stay at this brand as we crossed country last Nov. When we arrived at hotel in Seaside we were told there were no rooms available. We mentioned we had booked online, response was, "No rooms available sorry." This week my bank statement showed I was charged for a night - I was not even in town. And there was nothing they would do to refund. I will never stay at a Motel 6 or affiliate again, their loss as I travel for work a lot.

We never got any sleep. The next morning went to office for a plunger, No one there. Another also waiting said she has been waiting a couple hours. Check back later, still no one in office. We called office and manager said maid would bring us a plunger. After 4 hours still no plunger. Went to office again. Manager said "you still waiting," I said yes. Manager said "why don't I just move you to a new room. Then you won't have noisy people above you and we will take care of toilet."
I asked the manager if room was available for another week. He said yes. I asked "do we get it for same rate" and he said yes. Came in later to pay for room for next week, another guy in office and charged me $200 more than what manager said. 2 days later maid knock on our door. She asked us about leaving, we showed her the receipt. A little while later phone rang. The manager charging us $100 cuz we left toilet plugged and they wanted us out. We told them we asked for plunger and it was manager's idea for us to move to a new room. This is wrong. We tried to plunge the toilet. I don't think we should had to pay $100 cuz they wouldn't give us a plunger.

This time we were assured we would have a ground floor but upon learning about our dog, told we would have to be on the third floor. I put up with small bed - not very comfortable - and strip down rooms because of the ease of finding a Motel 6 and the dog friendliness. But if I can't count on you, I will have to stay somewhere else. We travel for our business and spend 1/2 year in hotel/motels. Disappointed. P.S. This is about the Motel-hell 6 on 6172 Commercial Way in Springhill FL 35606. 352-596-2007. I booked online 3/21/15 at 11 am for a 3 pm check in. We arrived at 2:15 just to check-in. I was told by ** the mgr that the room I booked wasn't available. I told him it showed 2, he said, "Well the system has been making mistakes." I told him I'll take whatever's available, he said I needed to call the number I booked with since he doesn't have the capability to change it. As I went thru that 20 min ordeal the CSR on the line said he can - he just doesn't want to. Okay, so I finally got that mess completed. As I was waiting to get another room another customer was trying to book. ** told him what was available and ironically it was the same room I was just told wasn't available??? He got so frustrated with the run around he left.
I told **, "Wait a minute. You told me the king size wasn't available," he said "It is - with a fridge." I said, "Why couldn't you of gave me that one?" He said, "It's $5.00 more," I said, "Couldn't I give you the difference?" "No you have cancel then rebook." Finally we got a miserable room! In all my years of traveling for business I've never been in a hotel that doesn't have a coffee pot, then they only give you 2 - yes 2 - towels. There were 3, my husband, myself and our 2 year old son. The reason they only give you 2, as I found on a card in the room said it's because they're eco friendly?? I don't know about anyone else but I won't dry my face in the morning with the towel that I dried my ass with the night before.
They don't offer any type of shampoo and 1 little sliver of soap. So after a trip to Dollar General for items just to shower with, we turned the sheets down only to find some sort of skid marks. I asked for clean ones and was told housekeeping was closed?? I guess eco-friendly means they don't wash the sheets either. So we flipped and turned them over, then realized the fridge we paid $5.00 extra for didn't work nor did the telephone, and there's no alarm clock either. When my husband went to get ice, there was an out of order sign on it. Also the pillows are paper thin. I'm more so aggravated with myself for not checking the reviews. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, please save your money. I should of threw $110.00 out the window and slept in the car at least I wouldn't of had a bug crawl on me like I found in the bathroom.

I go to the desk to complain and was told they're sorry this happen the other day too and was handed a new set of bedding and had to change the bedding and put the new stuff on myself. We wanted to leave but didn't wanna drag a 1-yo out in 5-degree weather so we stuck it out and were informed the manager would be in tomorrow. So the next day we leave for a trip we had scheduled in the area we return around 3 pm as we were told the manager would be there and he wasn't upon leaving this motel 6.
We get pulled over and our car surrounded by cops searched and our car ripped apart and they found nothing of course then the police inform us the reason being is because we just left a well known drug hotel. Well as if bloody sheets weren't bad enough. So now 2 days later we finally talk to a manager and he tells us that it's not his problem and he will not give a refund. Then we call corporate and they tell us there is nothing they can do, call the manager back. So we call the manager back and he says "Now that you called corporate on me I'm really not giving you anything."
So really wtf kind of company is this? I wouldn't stay here again if they gave me a month free - this place is a joke and a brand new building for drugs to be sold while they watch it all happen. This is not the kind of place you wanna stay at not even for 10 bucks a night. I felt she was making excuses and being rather nosy. A lot of people get hotel/motel rooms for that very reason. To kick it with their friends. I stayed here for thirteen days, paying well over seven hundred dollars for myself and my service dog, Charlie to stay in this so-called "pet-friendly" motel. I quickly learned that Motel 6 is anything BUT pet-friendly and for that matter, not so "people-friendly" either when I arrived back to the motel one day to find a notice taped to my door from the Foothills Animal Shelter, stating that my service dog was taken by animal control officers and impounded at the local animal shelter. Apparently a pipe burst in the building that I was staying in and because "they" needed "immediate access" to my room while I wasn't there, they took it upon themselves to immediately come to the conclusion that I abandoned Charlie there. Also, all of my belongings in the room was gone. My key card didn't work so I couldn't even get in.
I immediately go to the animal shelter to claim my dog and am told that she is under "police custody" and that I would have to go to the police department for permission to get her back. This is even after informing them that she is a service animal, a seizure alert dog. The young man working behind the counter at the shelter basically tells me that I'm out of luck, so I leave the shelter empty-handed. To sum up my experience: I choose Motel 6 on accounts that they are "pet-friendly" while traveling with my beloved service dog. Motel 6 floods my room, damages all my belongings in said room, calls animal control on my service dog, gets her impounded.
And now I am unable to get her back unless I go "have a talk with" police officers and face possible criminal charges for "cruel and inhumane treatment" of my dog (because these ignorant employees at Motel 6 enters my room without notifying me) and moves all my belongings out, and impounds my dog to Animal Control without even attempting to contact me and fill me in on the state of my room and the fact that my dog is about to be taken away.
Since when is it okay for a motel to enter a customer's room without permission and/or prior notification, move out all the customer's belongings, and call animal control on the customer's pet/service dog without them even attempting to contact the customer first? Would they take away a blind person's seeing eye dog? I have already filed a complaint with the Department of Justice about this motel's disgusting violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and am currently consulting with a lawyer about filing a civil lawsuit against Motel 6.

After temporarily moving from CA to FL I spent a lot of nights and money at the motel 6 on Apalachee Parkway in Downtown Tallahassee. Over months I developed a naive, false belief in the security, security of the property. At times I had to check out until a friend finished their workday, and dropped off money for the room. On Monday 2/16/15 at 4:00pm I foolishly left 3 large suitcases and a small duffle upstairs near the room while I went down to wait. I took my wallet, phone charger out of the duffel and (thank goodness) carried them in my jacket. When my friend finally came about an hour later, I paid, got the key and we headed upstairs. I was horrified, angry, shocked to find my small duffel was gone.
I want to be clear, I understand and know that leaving my bags there was obviously not a safe thing to do. The next morning I went into the manager's office and politely requested that he look at the camera for the staircase that was in the immediate area of my luggage. There are no cameras on the 2nd floor. However, I was hoping maybe it would show someone possibly leaving down the stairs with my bright pink duffel in their hands. He got an ugly defensive attitude, pretty much said it was my own fault and said he wouldn't look at anything unless the police ordered him to!
After the thousands of dollars I put into this business, I expected a little more compassion, respect. I already felt incredibly dumb, guilty, violated. Instead of this "person" showing a little common decency and respect. He talked down to me, and dismissed me. They'd rather sit on their butts, protect criminals than show a little human compassion to guests who put a lot of money into their pockets! A simple "I'm sorry that happened. There isn't anything I can do unless..." would have been a welcome and appreciated response. Instead this jackass kicked me when I was down and amplified the situation. By the way 3 or 4 of the overhead automatic lights were out for at least 3 nights. Since there's no camera upstairs, seems the least they could do is keep the lights maintained!

Unfortunately for me I did NOT read the reviews before booking. This was the worst motel I have ever been in. I would give it a minus -5 star due to the fact that we only had 1 towel and 1 wash rag for 2 people, the mattress was dilapidated and the bed slept like a BAD sofa bed, the shower went from scalding hot to freezing cold, the people in the rooms around were up all night talking loud banging things and slamming doors.
The IDIOTS that rated this a 3-5 star must have come from 3rd world countries and slept on dirt floors and had no running water. This motel is 100% overrated and I would NOT RECOMMEND IT for a dog to stay in it. While I was making my complaints known 3 other unfortunate people were also complaining about their rooms, such as, "My bathtub is moldy," "I have no towels," "My shower does not work," "TV's not working," "Toilet don't work", "Heater not working," and like us, no one had any soap in their bathrooms. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I turned light on and on her pillow was a bedbug. I smashed it and took to office where clerk said he was sorry and could put me in another room. So it was midnight an I had to change rooms in my nightgown.
Then got to our room and there is water puddles all under sink area like there was a leak. He put towels down and said it would be dry by morning. It was not - by the time I went to bed it was 1:30 am. The manager came in morning and spoke to me and said she would report this to corporate but that's all she could. So then corporate called to tell me room was positive for bed bugs and they would reimburse me but to this day have not heard from them again. It was freezing cold so I went to turn the heater on and it barely worked. It only had one speed - super slow. So my wife wanted to take a shower. The water didn't get hot at all. When we used toilet it wouldn't even flush the right way. You have to hold the handle down to make the toilet flush. Then I notice while I was using the toilet it wasn't a new roll of toilet paper on the roll on the spool which meant whoever stayed previously was using that same toilet roll. I checked into the Motel 6 on 323 Arsenal Rd. York Pa the morning of 12/26/2014. While unpacking, I noticed there was a large piece of bubble gum stuck to the floor between the beds. Housekeeping would not be arriving for another 3 hours, and I just didn't want to look at it that long. I called the front desk, and she came up to try to get it up with a plastic knife. She got most of it up, but not all of it. While she was trying, I also noticed that the sink was dirty with somebody's makeup. I also brought this to her attention, and she was very apologetic, and said she would send housekeeping up. Thirdly, the Wifi which they charge you for, did not work at all. These three things were brought to her attention which she informed the manager about.
Time went on, and I didn't hear from the manager, so I call down to the front desk. After I told him about the three things, this is what he said, "Would you like us to refund your money so that you can find another motel?" I said, "that was not the response I was looking for". I was hoping to hear, "We will accommodate you with another room that is clean and has a WiFi connection". He said, "You know what, I really want you to leave, why don't you just leave now!" I said, "I can't believe you are kicking me out, for what?" Because I complained about a dirty room and Wifi which I paid for? He said, "It just seems like we can't do anything to please you." I said, "You can please me with a clean room and a Wifi connection". He said, "no, that's ok, I want you to just go!" I couldn't believe that was happening to me! Unreal!!! So I called corporate. They called the manager, and they said that it was nothing they could do. If the manager wanted me out, I would have to leave. I have never stayed at a Motel 6 before and only stopped because I couldn't make it to my destination. I checked in at about 4 am and when I got to the room, the first thing I saw was a large dark red (burgundy) color stain on the floor just inside the door. The carpet was obviously not vacuumed. There were sunflower seeds, many, many small white pieces of what looked like paint splatter on the carpet around the bed just under the lip of the mattress (I think it was lint, or pieces of the wall that was falling apart) and hair, lots of hair.
I pulled the bedding back and the very first thing I noticed was the pillow sticking out of an extremely thin case which was so old it was decomposing and had a large hole with the stuffing coming out of it. The side of the pillow that was sticking out of the case also had dark yellow stains along the side where it looked like it had been handled over the years. The other pillow was very old and lumpy (never put a cotton pillow in the dryer, it lumps up, they should be hung to dry) but it was in better condition than the first. The bed spread had what I believe was "personal" stains or urine stains on the underside which was obvious though the top was too hard to notice anything because of the busy pattern and colors. The sheets were so thin I could see directly through to the bed itself. The mattress had metal springs inside that made the bed extremely lumpy and squeak badly. I used my own jacket to keep warm because I was so disgusted with the blanket and bed spread. It was truly a miserable night sleep.
When checking in, I was told check-out was at 12 pm so I asked for a wake-up call at 11:30 so as not to sleep through. I was awaken by a housekeeper knocking on my door then walking into my room after telling them I was there and that I had a wake-up call to let me know when it was time to leave. About two minutes later another housekeeper knocked on my door and tried to enter the room. I told her to go away that I was checking out at 12 and that I was sleeping until my wake-up call. By now I'm too irritated to go back to sleep so I got up to take a quick shower. Here comes the worst part...
As I'm stepping into the shower I see two very long black hairs. One stuck and dried to the shower wall directly at eye level and the other near the water control knob. I threw water on them to get them unstuck and took my shower. When I went to dry off I opened the towel and there again, two more long black hairs. I threw the towel on the floor and got the other from the rack. Guess what??? More long black hair this time embedded into the towel as if they had been woven into the threads of the towel.
I cannot believe the housekeepers didn't see the hair when folding the towels. To me it shows incompetence or carelessness not only on the part of the housekeepers themselves but on the manager(s) as well. I thoroughly checked out the rest of the linen and the only pieces without hair in them were the wash cloths which I used to dry myself. While I'm drying myself, I noticed more hair, this time a smaller black hair and a few lighter color hairs around the sink and under some plastic cups and a tub which I believe is used for ice - why was that in the bathroom?
After dressing, I decided to do a more thorough check of the room and bathroom which I also decided to take video and pictures of. The bathroom floor was not swept at all. I found much more hair and "stuff" caked in the corners of the bathroom and behind the toilet there was yellowing at the base which only needed wiping off, I did it with a wad of toilet paper. In the shower I used my fingernail to scrape the dirt/soap build-up on the wall and hand bar. This leads me to believe there is absolutely no effort in trying to clean.
The phone rings - it's the wake-up call a half an hour late. I decided to call the manager to come up to see what I was seeing. The receptionist told me the manager does not go to the rooms and that I would need to come down if I wanted to speak with him. I took the towels and decomposing pillow and headed to the office. Just before I got to the office a lady stepped out from a doorway and said hello. I asked if she was the manager she said that she was the housekeeping manager. I asked her to meet me in reception because I had a few things to show her. After speaking with her (the motel manager never came out of his office to speak with me) she was very apologetic and said this should never have happened. From what I saw this has been happening for years with the rotting pillow and the dirt build-up in the bathroom. The receptionist said the pillow should be thrown away then the housekeeping manager took it from me along with the towels.
I also asked if there were procedures in place with regards to housekeepers and guests who are checking out at check-out time. How is it that the housekeepers didn't know I was still in the room? This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any place of lodging in my 44 years on this planet. If I ever feel desperate for a place to sleep and the only choice is a Motel 6, I will instead sleep in my car on the side of the freeway. I travel often and just so happen to work in the hospitality industry myself and because this was such a horrible experience, I feel the need to warn as many people as necessary by any means necessary. I would like to make a suggestion to you Motel 6 - Please hire a team to separately travel around the country to stay undercover at your Motels to check on them. My stay at this Motel 6 was an absolute nightmare. Check in was by a very hostile woman at front desk. When I entered my room, it smelled, and had a black spider on the wall. The keys were not working properly which led to the front desk clerk to get all bent out of shape with my request to fix the problem so I could get into my room. The housekeeper didn't clean room, and when I questioned at the front desk, I got a call from the manager saying she wanted me to check out in the morning when I had planned to stay a week. It was filthy, due to housekeeping not cleaning the wooden floors, bathroom and never making the bed. I had my dog with me who got deathly ill, maybe from a spider bite, and they didn't care when they were kicking me out because I questioned why at $75.00 weekend rate, why don't they clean the rooms.
I explained my dog was deathly ill, but the manager could care less and made us leave after 3 nights when I planned to stay 7 ngts. I needed to rush my dying dog to hospital, veterinarian, only to put her to sleep and as I was made to come to the front desk, so the manager would credit my credit card, refusing to do it by phone while I'm holding my dying dog... I stood at front desk crying, holding dying dog trying to get out of there to race to the hospital. They told me I was put on a list never to return for one year. It was all taking place at 5:30 am with dying dog in my arms and manager very mad that she had to get out of bed to credit my card for the days ahead that I wasn't able to stay because she kicked me out.
After my beautiful dog got put to sleep, I returned to get my luggage and leave the motel. Then I saw the housekeeper smoking on the stairs in the non-smoking building blocking me from going to my room. I had to walk around her, and when I gathered all my luggage, she stayed blocking me from getting downstairs with me carrying things in both hands down their steep staircase. She expected me to walk around her while she blocked my way, as she sit smoking. I almost fell down the steep staircase and could of broken my neck as I explained “I had bad vision and could you get up so I would have room to walk down those stairs.” She was trying to intimidate me, and I was completely distraught from my dog dying. So this motel has black spiders, and they do not like to clean the rooms. The worst experience of my life. However as the night continued little things started to seem out of the ordinary. One thing was that we had a nonsmoking room; however, there were ashtrays which seemed a little strange for a nonsmoking room. Also when it was time for bed we noticed in all the rooms that the blankets and bedspreads were horribly stained, and has cigarette burns! That really bugged me since it was a nonsmoking room.
Also I don't think they cleaned the bathroom due to the TP roll was empty and a towel was messy and thrown over the shower rod. There only 3 towels, and the towels that we had when we took them out of the racks were covered in HAIR! And not ours. So I called the front desk and complained and asked for new towels. The front desk man said sure but told me I had to come pick them up! And even those had hair in them. It was disgusting! There was no housekeeping/do not disturb signs in the entire motel so at 9 am I was woken up to the housekeepers! And I found it strange that in the vanity was a restaurant style beer bottle opener attached to the side of it. It's a good thing I brought my own bath towels!

We have been here at Studio 6 in Houston since June of this year. I have a daughter that is mentally handicapped. She went to the laundromat to do laundry and a drunk man came in. She was the only one in there and got scared and had an accident on the floor. She was embarrassed and cleaned it up. The next day I got a call at work from the clerk at the front desk asking me did I know about the accident. I responded, yes and I was sorry, but my daughter cleaned it up. She proceeded to tell me very rudely that it better Never happen again or we would be kicked out. I called the operations manager and he said she did not have the right to do that, also that is his job. He said he would talk to her. A few days later she was being followed by three guys and screamed. Again I got a call from this same clerk saying my daughter was being loud and a complaint was going to be written up and again the threat of being kicked out. Other people make comments about this clerk. Just how rude she is.
I was told by other people staying that they called corporate and complained and they did not care. There are two other clerks that have told me how many other people complain about rude this clerk is. I think they knew they could not kick us out be of her condition. This Studio 6 is being remodeled and when we first came our room was not being cleaned. We ask the housekeepers and the front office to clean our rooms. They said they would but it never happened. We were moved to the completed side and I was really sick when they wanted to clean our room. The cleaning was scheduled the following Sunday at 1:00. I assumed that would be the day and time from then on, several weeks went by and the room wasn't cleaned. I avoided going to the office when the rude clerk was there. However she always finds a reason to call me and be rude. Well, again this clerk calls me at work and needs to get in the room right then and there. I said no but to give me more notice.
I stayed in a Motel 8 in Dallas and when my room was cleaned, valuables went missing. I was told that I should remove them on the cleaning day. The clerk told the General Manager that I used profanity when talking to her. That was not true. I have a witness that heard the whole conversation. So now we are told that we need to leave by Monday. This is so unfair. My daughter has had to go to the office and I would have her take her cell phone with so I could hear the conversation between my daughter and the clerk. I heard her tell my daughter that no one here likes her and we should leave. Or your hair looks awful and she doesn't like it. I mean really why does the clerk get to be so ugly? Both of the managers are backing her.

After having stayed at the Motel 6 location on Shawano avenue in Green Bay, I feel compelled to write a review about my experience. Despite an abundance of low reviews on this site, my experience deserves 5 stars - I was simply amazed by the quality of customer service I received. For $45 per night, you get what you pay for: a clean, comfortable room with hot and cold running water and even a dozen or so cable channels. Extras such as shampoo or razors do cost a dollar and change from the front desk but you'll be paying over $100 at a hotel where these are complimentary. Motel 6's 'no-frills' business model is, to be completely honest, a good part of the reason I decided to stay with them. I stayed at this Motel 6 for some time as a stop-gap between living situations and I couldn't be happier.
Most of the reviews I can find for this motel chain are incredibly negative and I honestly feel these are unjustified. Every staff member I interacted with during my stay had a better grasp on the concept of "customer service" than both the major retail chains I have worked for. Each and every employee I had contact with was professional, friendly, and if I had any sort of issue they were willing to go the extra mile to see that it was resolved. Normally I'd like to point out associates or employees of a business who went out of their way to ensure a happy customer, however at this motel that is, simply, every staff member.
Over the course of a month, I only encountered three issues that caused a less-than-satisfactory stay. The first was when a housekeeping employee entered my room without knocking. She seemed embarrassed and quickly left. I mentioned it to the receptionist at the front desk at the time and he apologized for the intrusion - honestly I wasn't very concerned about it, mistakes happen. What struck me was when the same housekeeping employee who opened the door apologized later that day. I had forgotten about the incident at this point and was very pleasantly surprised. The other two issues were due to loud, disruptive neighbors and were promptly resolved once reported to the front desk.
Needless to say, my experience at this particular Motel 6 was beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing a no-frills place to lay their heads for the night. I will definitely be returning if the need arises.

The first day I was there, I informed them that I would be there awhile. Asked for "special, Discounts, Promotions". Clerks stated, "We leave the Light On For You!" I had a problem with AC, moved to a room with "ticking sound" over the top of bed. Manager stated, "We don't know what that is, but I will give you $15.00 off". I asked, "Is this per day?". "Oh, No", she says, "Just this week". Well it just so happens, my new noisy room was next door to someone who informed me, "They give me a discount for the week & another discount because I have been here 2 months. Because after you been here 30 days, they don't charge taxes". I called guest relations, who agreed, "they should have charged you differently!" When Manager heard I called "Guest Relations", she stated, "You can't stay here anymore". She then called police to have me escorted off property.
This is after I spent over $1500.00 there & was 4 days from being there 30 days w/out taxes being charged. All together, I have probably spent $2-4,000.00 there. I wrote company twice and 6 weeks later, no response.

I have poured through their policies to find this but have been unable to locate it. This occurred on 10/10/14 approximately 8:30 pm on a Friday. This place had no regards for the position they put my kids in and no accountability for their actions. Had we known about this so called policy we would have found another hotel. This is an unacceptable practice by any standard and puts guest and potential guest into potentially dangerous positions. The staff was rude and totally unconcerned about helping find a resolution to the problem. NEVER AGAIN MOTEL 6.

After about one and a half hours later we were told some rooms were ready but they would be scattered about the motel. When our first group member finally checked in, the rate nearly doubled and when he saw how shabby the room was, refused to stay there. We were all quite upset with the whole deal and decided to go to the days inn just down the street where we got superb clean and spacious rooms. Staying at Motel 6 in Portsmouth, NH was a big mistake. We have never stayed at a Motel 6 before but the annual Seafood Festival was going on the same weekend and Motel 6 had the only vacancy. We had made reservations 3-4 weeks in advance. The service desk clerk was rude. The manager was worse than rude, he was a liar. The lobby and hallways were hot. The air conditioner in the room was blasting and it was freezing in the room. The tiny "pool" was literally in the middle of the parking lot.
Although the room was minimally clean, the lobby, hallways and single elevator were filthy. We paid over $100 for one night and we expected only a clean room and courteous service. We received neither. It is absolutely the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We left after one night. They charged our credit card for 2 nights after the manager assured me that the second night would be refunded. I recorded the conversation on my cell phone as proof. We will dispute the charge with our credit card co. I would sleep in my car before I would stay at Motel 6 again. It was the absolute worst hotel experience ever.

We had been driving hard after a late start due to a breakdown. As evening was coming on, we knew of a town a few miles ahead called Beaver in Utah on the I15. My wife had the Motel 6 number and phoned a reservation in for us and we arrived about an hour later. The first thing we noticed was the very strong smell of curry as we entered the very sparse lobby. The manager never even spoke to me as he took my card and simply checked me in to a room. He never offered the senior discount either, which a previous Motel 6 had done automatically. I spoke and asked for a room on the east side so that we would be facing the parking lot as I had a moving van and would have preferred to keep an eye on it.
I was ignored and given the key card to a room on the other side. On the way to our room, we saw that the pool was out of order. I know that Motel 6's are nothing fancy but, quite honestly, although not an inexpensive Motel 6 at over $60 a night, this room was about as sparse as you could possibly get. We were tired and went right to bed but just as we were about to put out the light, a cockroach appeared from under the baseboard and scuttled across the linoleum floor. I managed to get it with a shoe. This made us very uneasy and although exhausted, we could hardly sleep.
In the night, I got up to use the facilities and stood on something. Cringing, I put on the light and sure enough it was a relative of the previous creature. That was it for us. We got up and got dressed without even showering (which I could not have faced in that filthy place) and got on our way on the road again. I wrote to Customer Relations but all I got from Motel 6 was an apologetic form letter that wasn't even addressed to me, although I wrote to them, but was addressed to my wife because she made the booking. That said a whole lot about how much care and attention was paid to my letter. I'm sure that all they do is refer their system to the booking and let it pump out their form responses. Never again!

We arrived at Motel 6, "750 Raintree drive, Carlsbad CA". I walked into the office to check in. I paid for both rooms and was told no rooms were available at that time, that we would have to wait about 3 hours for our rooms. I wasn't okay with that because we had been driving all night but it is what it is so, I said okay. While waiting I received a call and my battery was very low so I went back into the office and asked the front desk girl could I sit there and charge my phone. She said yes. She told me to sit in front of the back office door, so other customers could come in. As I was sitting moving/down I cut my foot in the process. I asked the front desk girl for a band aid. She gave me one.
This guy who was also staying at the motel said he was an attorney, advised me to make a report and told the girl at the front desk to give me some peroxide which she did. Then I noticed she was on the phone and a few minutes later the manager came in and in a very rude manner she asked me what happen. I told her what happen and she said, "Why were you charging your phone in here anyway!!!?" Not, "Are you okay?" but why was I in there charging my phone. Then she turns to my husband not knowing if he was with me or one of the other ladies in there. She said, "And who were you talking to?" My husband said I was telling my son to move the car to a shaded area. She just went crazy and told us we couldn't stay there. She made the front desk girl put my money back on my card or so I thought. That's another story in itself!!!
Anyway to make a long story short my foot was hurting and bleeding, they made us leave the motel because I made a report and gave me the wrong phone number for their claims dept after lying and telling me she was going to put the report in and someone would call me in a few days and here it is almost two months later and I have a scar on my foot and it's still sensitive and I still have not heard from anyone.... Oh I made a report on their website that ask you to leave comments on your stay and I spoke to someone at that same location and again that was almost two months ago. Bugs and gnats were flying around. I had driven 12 miles from New York City and was exhausted. My son had training camp the next morning and needed a shower and to stretch his legs. I asked for room service and was told to come to lobby. I was given sheets and sent on my way. The hotel reeks of marijuana. Both inside and outside as well.
It is an extended stay and random people roam the hallways because the hotel keep the doors open. In which case, anything can happen. Lots of weirdos lumbering around. I took pics of the blood and urine stained mattresses, on both beds. I asked for room change the next day and was moved to another room that still had blood and urine stains on both mattresses. I wiped the tub with a tissue and had a hand full of crud. Balls of hair were in corners. And the door was broken.
The manager came into my room while I was gone (we stayed away for most of our stay) and upon returning to our room, saw that our door was left ajar for the entire time that we were away. When I complained, it was brushed off by the front desk. I had to demand a call to the manager. For what?? Nothing was done. I got $70 bucks for one night. I told them that I should never have to change dirty, nasty and hairy sheets and I'm paying for this. But I called corporate and guest services several times while I was there and when I got back home. I was offered compensation for one night but paid $500. Motel 6, 1505 E. Santa Fe Ave. Grants, New Mexico - I had awoke early, about 5:30am, and our toilet was seriously overflowing. We took every single towel, wash cloth, hand towel, etc. to mop up the floor and surround the overflowing toilet with! The office didn't open until 6am, but I took my chances, in hopes it would be open early, 5:45am it was open. I told the woman behind the desk that the toilet was overflowing and I ask for a plunger. She went back to look, but didn't find one, so, I ask if there was a maintenance person available and she said no. I then ask when one would be available, she didn't know when.
I explained to her we had a flood in our bathroom, and needed more towels because the entire floor was soaked, so she gave me the key to the room next door to have use of the toilet and get the towels there to try to sop up the toilet water (the towels, etc. were about worthless as thin and small as all of them were) so, I proceeded to get my shower with a towel I had kept to use, and took my shower, and had stepped out of this shower, and I slipped, and went down very hard. I had hit my tailbone, lumbar, cervical, neck, and head in several areas and went for an MRI, physical therapy, pain meds. for muscles and pain for bruising, neurological pain, nerve pain, bone pain, dizziness, loss of balance, confusion and forgetfulness.
Back to Motel 6, and the accident. My husband fixed me up several ice packs, and I laid down on them from my head to my tailbone, in hopes I didn't have any signs of a concussion. We do not know for sure if I did or didn't! My husband then called the front desk to explain what had happened to me in the bathroom, and she says "ok, thank you". She had a very uncaring attitude in her voice! Also, when we arrived at room 130, it had a very overwhelming chemical smell, so I then opened the door, turned on the air vents, opened the window, and went outside to get us and my toy poodle some breathable air.
I called the complaints dept. with all of my injuries that I had received from this fall and they gave me a report#**, and said someone else would contact me. I then received a letter from a claim representative (team lead) Claudette ** stating: "We are sorry to hear of your injury while staying with us. Two weeks ago I rented a newly remodeled Motel 6 room. I was shocked on how horrible, cheap and completely tasteless decor! The following are the negative room characteristics the new owners of Motel 6 had allowed to happen after they purchased Motel 6 from the previous original owners. The original owners of Motel 6 had done a fantastic job on the color decor, attractive cabinets and drawers, vibrant and colorful bedspreads and curtains, normal flowing water out of the shower heads, a remote control for the TV which worked very well. ALL OF THE ONCE WELL DESIGNED ROOM CHARACTERISTICS HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OR REMOVED!
Here is a list of all the horrible negative changes done by the new owners of Motel 6 which has ruined a once great comfortable and pleasing stay at ALL Motel 6 hotels:
1) They have installed cameras on every floor in front of every room door. They claim it's for additional security for the customer staying at their hotel. That is a lie! The reason they put the cameras in is because too many hotels in large cities are used for brothel houses, meaning sex for money hookers and pimps use the hotel rooms all night long to solicit prostitution.
2) NO CABINETS or DRAWERS TO PUT OUR THINGS IN! 95% of all customers who stay at Motel 6 bring some type of luggage and other things into the room when they stay for a night or more. When the customers have unpacked their suitcases, shopping bags, etc. they need a place to put these items so that the room remains clean and not cluttered with a bunch of things everywhere making it messy. The new design rooms have NO CABINET DRAWERS! So now all of our things we bring in the room are either pal on the floor, around the bed or piled on top of the extremely few table surfaces they have provided. The reason for this is so that the maids don't have to open and close and clean the inside of the cabinets which takes several minutes to do. Motel 6 did it for fast cleaning and not for the people staying in the rooms!
3) 50% less tabletop space to place your items on! Now why did they feel they needed to do that when they already removed the large cabinets with the large drawers? Again, so that the maids take less time cleaning the tabletop surfaces!
4) The television viewing experience has changed quite negatively! The TV remote control has been made so that you have to push the buttons 50% harder to change the functions while watching TV. Also, when adjusting the volume level slightly higher or lower you have to push the volume button on the remote control about 20 times just to slightly adjust the volume level! Also, every other channel has a different volume setting and we have to keep adjusting the volume slightly by pushing the button on the remote control about 20 times every time we change the channel!
5) They now have the ugliest window curtains and bedspreads! The previous owners of Motel 6 did a great job choosing the style and color of the curtains and bedspreads. They were colorful, vibrant and appeared to be a good class and quality! Now they're thin, basic and very ugly and even the color coordination is horrible. They use an ugly orange color with another color that doesn't look good next to the orange color. They destroyed the good-looking decor inside of the rooms!
6) They removed the carpet and installed hard floors throughout the entire room leaving no carpet anywhere in the rooms. The original earlier Motel 6 carpets were cleaned about two or three times a year professionally and I did not mind a few spots on the carpet. While I stayed there I decided to walk around barefoot on the floor. My feet got black and dirty after walking barefoot for only 10 minutes! The floors were dirty and were not cleaned properly by the maids. And remember, the cleaning practices are the same throughout all of the Motel 6 locations.
The main reason they removed the carpet and installed hardwood floors is so that the maids don't have to vacuum the carpet anymore and don't have to carry a vacuum cleaner to each room just to save more cleaning time in each room! I talked to the maid cleaning the rooms and I asked her do you mop each row in each day. She said no they just sweep the rooms out and if they see a spot on the hard floor they just spray water on it using a spray bottle and wipe it off. That's all they do to clean the floors! And that's why my feet became black and dirty when walking barefoot on the floors for only 10 or 15 minutes!
7) Does anyone remember taking a shower in the previously designed rooms before they change them with the new design? When I took my shower the shower head water flow was so slow and weak, it took about seven or eight minutes just to rinse the soap out of my hair twice. My hair length is only a half-inch below my ears and down to the shirt collar in the back. My hair is not long and I can imagine how long it takes for people with hair that is twice that long!
8) Why did the new owners removed a nice big mirrors on the walls?! The nice mirrors that the previous owners had installed were nice and convenient to use while getting dressed next to or near the bed. The ONLY reason the new owners are Motel 6 made these changes was to save the maids time when cleaning the rooms! Basically, they removed all the nice characteristics of a standard hotel room ONLY, again ONLY to save money when cleaning the rooms! The new Motel 6 owners have destroyed the once greatest and comfortable hotels most people, including myself had ever stayed at for the price. And the room prices keep going up higher and higher and the quality keeps going down! And if you want a microwave and refrigerator you have to pay an extra $10 a night!
My friends and family and myself have all agreed we will never stay at Motel 6 again because the new owners had ruined the nice decor and standard useful characteristics which used to exist and are gone for ever at ALL Motel 6 around the country. The new owners are from a third world country with poor standards and are extremely greedy, cheap and selfish and don't provide the once great basic good-quality characteristics we consumers want and need. So, we'll just take our business elsewhere and I would be glad to pay an additional $25 for a hotel room so that WE DON'T HAVE TO STAY AT ANY Motel 6 AGAIN!

Horrible Florence, South Carolina. Checked in at 2 am. Beds were in worst shape. You could only sleep in the middle cause the mattress was so worn out. TV didn't work well. Door to bathroom would not stay closed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOTEL. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR. Room was way overpriced. Blankets were crunchy, not soft... sheets were stained. It is the worst motel 6 I have ever stayed at.

The lady, if you want to call her that, i used the word lady very reluctantly, at the front desk said I could not get a refund because I had check-in 45 min before. Which I check in, went across the street to get gas and snacks. She also said it was bizarre for a toilet seat not to be on the toilet, but never ask to check it out. Anyway, I have never had such a horrible experience in my life, and I drove a truck for 20 years throughout the us and canada. Needless to say, I throw away $50 without Seniors discount and left that nasty place in fredericksburg va at 95 and 17 on warrington rd and will never stay at a motel six again and advise other to avoid this nasty motel.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed there and made a reservation for 1 week. Asked them for a room with 2 beds for 2 adults. Went to check in the next day and they gave me a room with 1 bed and only charged me for 1 adult. Then when I asked them why I don't have a room with 2 beds, they didn't give me an answer and REFUSED to fix it saying that there was nothing they can do about it. What's the whole point of making a reservation if they aren't going to get it right? Very rude customer service. Tried to go back as I work in town and they refused to rent us a room. Will never go back as long as the front desk staff is still there.

Mold around window, probably inside a/c too. Light bulb missing, all lampshades damaged. Recliner has huge stain in seat, all the way to floor.
Various stains on carpet. All wooden furniture contains demolished drawers, broken to pieces, stuffed back into furniture. Toilet doesn't flush, has two black stains in bowl. Tub doesn't drain, has moldy caulk all around it. Knew it was a smoker’s room, but all smells aren't from tobacco. Trapped there due to fact I was medicated, unable to drive safely. Next morning, told manager I had reported room to M6 hotline, and he should be ashamed. Told me he was proud of his work. Told him I would work to put him out of business. Told me many have tried, and he was still there.
Beware of this dump, don't expose loved ones, including pets to this health hazard. I have already reported this to County Health, NC Hotel Assn, etc.

Went to a job interview and had to spend the night because things keep getting delayed. I decided to spend the night and start fresh in the morning so I decided to stay in Denison, TX Motel 6. While I was unloading my luggage, my door locked the security lock and could not get back in. When I went back to the front desk, they replied, "Oh you must have 119!" Yes indeed I did! They said, "We have had that happen before! Sorry, we will have to call someone to cut the security lock off but it would take about 2 hours so we will give you another room and you can get your luggage when we get into your room." I went to dinner and went back to my other room and fell asleep because I had traveled 10 hours and after returning late just wanted some rest!
The night crew called me at I do not know what time and said, "Your other room is now open." I said I was in no way getting up and dressed to do it then and fell back asleep. He called again and said he would bring it to me but at that point I was so tired after not having any sleep for more than almost 2 days I said no and went back to sleep. I woke up the next day with no clean clothes and went in my bare feet to get a key to get my clean things and get a shower. I felt this was unexceptionable! No "we are sorry and we will try to help you" in any way or any compensation for my very bad experience! I will not be back again!

I just got out of a nursing home with 3rd bout with cancer & health issues to be in remission & start my life over in December 2013. I came to our local Motel 6 airport to have follow up with Care South home care for 8 weeks while getting stronger since I had to give up my rental home when I went in nursing home this past September. I am on waiting list for Greensboro Housing Authority to get senior wheelchair accessible affordable housing.
When I first came I was told by front desk that anytime I needed help to just call. After about a week I was very happy with my choice, I brought my kitty Molly with me for company. I unfortunately being a heavyset senior am in a 36" manual chair that won't go thru the door frame which was measured @34" & I can't walk except with walker & someone coming behind me out the door or in door with chair because it has to be folded in half for 4 months have spent most of my days in my room. My only Son comes & helps me as often as possible, I pay senior services $18.50 an hr to run errands.
Since being here things have gone pretty well with guest services, then another manager comes in March & says I am going to have to change rooms because they are supposed to switch for heavy clean up every 60 days so I did. The 2nd room has a roll in shower but safety latch up too high to reach without assistance. This manager starts making changes that I can no longer get mail here, no packages (I shop online every payday to get things I need and have for 14 years since I don't drive). There is nothing stated in writing on their site that you can't get mail or pkgs as a guest @ Motel 6.
Last week, the Furniture a Market was in town, my Son went to pay my bill, on my charge card & it was $80 higher. I called the desk to ask why, was told it was higher rate when furniture market was in town. I responded if so then mgr should have sent out notices to those of us that get a weekly rate or contacted in some way, that that was my grocery $, again asked for mgr to come talk to me face to face.
Next day housekeeper comes to my room, says she is going to get sheets & would be right back & leaves safety latch unlocked. I got busy online & turned around when I realized my cat was scratching @ door to see that door is open, I can't reach in my chair & cannot safely get to it. I called front desk, told Lynn what happened, she said ok. Another 30 minutes goes by, I call 3 times on room phone, no one answers. I call on my cell phone, she answered, asked if she forgot about my door & bringing me sheets housekeeper forgot. She says mgr told her she couldn't! Again I ask to speak to him, she said he had left. I was angry! I said well I guess he doesn't care if someone comes in my room & ** me, she says, I'm just saying I can't leave desk. I told her that if he wants to treat me like dirt underneath his feet that was fine but plenty of people were hearing about how I am being treated online.
I called Motel 6 Customer relations # for 3rd time in 2 weeks, gave her all of what you see here, asked why the manager had not been to my room in person or talked to me on the phone, she said she didn't know. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told she was gone for the day...I told her by the time I get thru with this, I hope it messes up Motel 6 airport business so much that he won't have any guests to complain! That the staff can no longer come bring me ice, towels or sheets that I would have to get my Son to do that when he came.
2 weeks later this manager I understand is no longer here, a guy by the name of Keith comes in 1st part of April, from there it has all gone downhill. My linen change day is Wednesday, my bed change day is Friday. Got sick on off cleaning day & called & asked for sheets so I could pull soiled ones off bed, was told they couldn't do that. My guest phone quit working entirely, was told that there was something wrong with wiring in wall & they had called phone company. From March 25-April 9th I had no phone service to add to not being able to get out of my room. I had to get online & invest in a cell phone and plan I could afford & have it overnighted which cost me $18 just for that.
Then 2 days later the AC stops working properly, maintenance checked & said it needed freon, that was April 11, still no freon. Called again last week, another maintenance man checked, said he would send guy down to put freon in, still no Freon. Called 2 days ago to ask about it again, still no freon.Called to get wifi with my AARP card & was told manager needed to see card. I asked that he come down & talk to me & meet face to face, didn't happen.
I called to ask yesterday about picking up a prepaid pkg for USPS to pick up @ front desk, was told they had been told by management not to come in here.
Today I called 11 times with over 20 rings each, no one answered. I called on my cell, Carolyn answered right away. I told her I wanted my AARP card back, she says ok & hangs up. 45 minutes later she still hasn't come. Again, I call 12 times on room phone, no one answers, call on my cell phone, she picks up. Asks if she forgot about my card, she replied she wasn't allowed to come to my room! I called back on cell & asked for manager to come see me for the 6th time in 2 weeks, she said he wasn't here...
I was so upset, felt totally isolated, tried calling my Son who Keith stopped @desk last week to tell him to tell me (my Son is 33 & I am 63) that I can't have pkg, mail, room services, ice, etc etc...I told my Son that night if he wants to tell ME something, he needs to come down & do it himself, if he had any balls at all! I was so livid this afternoon after all of these goings on to call non emergency police, they said they would send someone. As soon as I get off police call, Carolyn from front desk abruptly opens up my door to ask if everything is ok, that she understands I called police (how do they know this). I said yes I did call, scared me too with just busting in door. Policeman comes, there is older guy behind in plain clothes, I asked if he was Keith, says yes, I said well after 2 weeks it's nice one that you finally have time to come down here.
I told police what had been going on, basically he says it is not a criminal matter, if I am so unhappy here why didn't I go somewhere else. I explained I was on waiting list for affordable housing & had actually been up to 5:30 this morning looking online for a possibility of somewhere else to go, explained I didn't drive, that my Son was the only one I could depend on & that I wanted to go as soon as possible when he had time to take me...Keith speaks up, gives me back my AARP card & says that you can only get AARP discount on Winfield for Six days. I said their website doesn't have that on there. He says he had been online with corporate & it is in their guidelines & handsome paper.
Then Keith says he is serving me to leave his property, that as of Thursday the 24th they won't be renewing my stay!! I have already been thru a heart attack in 2007, I swear my heart quit for a few seconds! I said I wanted it in writing, and why they were asking me to leave, at that they were gone. Door closed & I cried!

My husband and I were moving to Fort Worth, TX in early August 2013. My son was helping me due to me being sick. I have a number of autoimmune diseases including Lupus SLE, Graves, Shrogens, also have 3 types of arthritis. I have been thru biologics, which kill my white blood cells. I am very susceptible to all illnesses around me. We had to stay over in El Paso due to my illness. The stress on my body when riding in car so long made me weak, mentally and physically. We stayed at Motel 6 in El Paso (central). When I got to the room I saw that there was hazardous waste coming up out of the tub and toilet, sink. I was truly shocked that they did not have this checked or known it was there. Feces and other waste where a person is close enough, anyone could get ill. But in my case it was imminent.
My husband called to have us moved, they did nothing. Then I called and explained that I have major sicknesses and that I really need a different room, to no avail. The girl at the desk said there's nothing they could do, I told her to call her manager, she did but didn't care one way or another. The manager said no also but he would give us a complementary stay of one night at their motel on our next visit. So there I was sick and very scared.
Within a few days later I started to get extremely exhausted by everything I did. I couldn't even walk a few steps and had to stop to catch my breath. Then my arms swelled to a scary size and the pain was excruciating, I went to the emergency room and was admitted immediately. I had surgery on my arms the next day. I had to stay in there 7 days it ended up being e. coli. I since have lost every bit of money we had to get in a rental house. And I owe at least 15 to 20,000 $ in med bills. The motel say I wasn't there. And are not willing to help me, I am so down I wish I would have died thru this now.
I have more scares and owe everyone, and I haven't got nothing. This was unbelievable to me that they could care less about anyone. The world is really getting bad. I wish they would have at least paid my medical and the truck I had to sell to get bandages and other things needed for my care. But they don't or won't help me, though I have pictures I showed them and I have pictures of my arms and the 4-inch cut I had to care for alone. What a really bad company, I hope they get what is owed to them. I tell everyone I can about my stay. They should have help me. I wish bankruptcy is in their future. Beware of where you lay your head!!! Mr. Bodett or whoever you are.

So let me tell you about my most recent stay at Motel 6. We have stayed at the Anaheim 100 Disney Way, Motel 6 many of times before. We have never had a problem, and we've never experienced anything but great customer service. The only time we have ever had any type of issue was on our last stay (January 17, 2013), when we found a used condom under our bed. We informed the front desk and when checking out they offered to comp our room one night for the inconvenience. Let me make it very clear, they offered this to us, we did not ask for any sort of refund. The only reason we notified them about the condom was so they didn't think it was us leaving it behind. We were extremely grateful and thanked the clerk. There was no conflict, no yelling, and no confrontation.
We and the lady at the front desk were both very calm and polite. We were actually extremely shocked they were so accommodating and helpful. So for our most recent trip we had no reason not to give them our business again. We booked our room a month in advance and had no problems. After driving at least 2 hours from San Diego to Anaheim we were informed at the front desk we were on the Do Not Rent To list. We assured them this was obviously a mistake and asked how it could be resolved. How could we be on this list and have no idea why? Also, we entered all our information when reserving the hotel room so why weren't we notified then that there was an issue? They were extremely rude and treated us like criminals who had done something horrible.
We spoke with ** (doubt that's her real last name, but that's what she told us) who was short with us, rude, and extremely unprofessional. We were just trying to find out what the exact incident was and how we could fix it. She was unable to give us ANY useful information. She informed us this issue could only be resolved by the manager ** who wasn't there. She said we had to leave and exit the premises immediately. We were shocked! My boyfriend and I are a young, clean cut, couple who have always followed the law and been extremely courteous at anywhere we've stayed. The way the staff treated us at the front desk at check-in was like we were convicted felons!
It was extremely embarrassing to be told to leave the premises immediately in a lobby full of people. Most would have gone off on the manager yelling and cursing but my boyfriend and I once again demonstrated our polite demeanor in not doing so. Please for one second imagine the position we were in. We were in a strange and unfamiliar city, far from home with no place to go! Motel 6 left us stranded and we had to scramble to put a roof over our heads for the night! We called guest services and corporate, and they both said the only person who can tell us any more information, or take us off this list was ** the manager. We had been blacklisted for giving our honest feedback, even though we were extremely polite and calm about it.
We were forced to stay at another Motel 6 about 2 miles away. This motel was disgusting! It was in a horrible part of town and the room conditions were awful!!! The bed had a funny smell and stains, the whole room was dirty and we even found blood stains on the bathroom AND bedroom floor! I took pictures of all of this and will be posting them on every review site I can find. They next day we got in contact with ** the manager and he was so unprofessional and rude! He said he would call us back and never did! After another call to corporate we found out this ban had been done by the previous manager who no longer works there, and despite a lack of reason, ** decided to support this decision.
How can you support a decision to ban somebody without a reason??? We have still yet to be informed on the reason why we were banned. The lack of professionalism in this company has shocked me!!!!! We have already contacted the manager (**), guest relations (**), and corporate (**, and another guy named **) and they all gave us the run around. We still have not been provided with a reason why this happened to us!
After this experience I will NEVER in my life under any circumstances stay at another Motel 6! BEWARE IF YOU GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK, YOU WILL BE BLACKLISTED AND NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN. This company is despicable and it's a shock they can still be in business. I will not stop until everybody I know has heard my experience and I will be posting my review and pictures of the blood stains on every site I can find. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau immediately. If you want a professional, clean, accommodating hotel, DO NOT STAY HERE. From now on I will GLADLY pay the extra $20 for a hotel that won't treat us like criminals. Nothing will make up for this experience and the way the company has dealt with this complaint is unbelievable. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE EVER AGAIN and I will make sure everybody knows about this story!

She assigned me room 126. She told me that I had to carry my belongings through the lobby to the room. This room was the very LAST room at the far end of the hall equivalent to a full city block. Yet the back door was less than 20 ft from the car if I parked in the rear. Fortunately, I didn't listen to the clerk and entered via the back door. I find the clerk at the counter very unhelpful and uncaring. I was miffed at her ill concern. On the 4th of January at 4:30 pm, I arrived at Motel 6. The counter person told me that there wasn't any rooms until house keeping came in. At 4:45, I finely got a room... As I was waiting, I ask the lady if there was a TV guide in the room. She responded, "I don't know what's in the rooms," which made me feel uncomfortable because anything could have been in the room. Drugs, weapons and etc. I reach my room, unlocked the door and the smell was so bad like mold and melded. The bed spread was crumble up covered with burn holes. I shined it because I gave her last bit of my money.
Anyway, the next morning, I called front desk and asked for wash cloths, soap, shampoo and rinse. The counter person which ** the Manager said they had no wash cloth, that they were on back order, and the don't give out hair products. I told her I had stayed there about 7 yes ago and the room had coffee pot coffee. Frig Marc wave sect. She responded, "Well, you know, Motel 6, they don't do that anymore." I also paid 2.50 for WiFi. Could only use phone or tablet one at a time. I haven't seen my grand kids and kids over a year. I was upset which made my kids upset. When I checked out, I went to the office to complain and told her I was filing a complaint with corp. And she told me to get the ** out or she was going to call the police on me. I want a lawyer and I want to have all my money plus inconvenience I endured.
I've never been treated so bad as I was staying there. Linda wouldn't give me the name of the night manager. They were dressed in ratty shirts, a holy blue jeans. I was expecting it to be the way it was the last time I stayed there, which put stress on my visit with my family. If my needs aren't met, I will go to the TV station and newspapers and tell all. I have five witnesses to back me up. I now regret not going back to the first motel I stayed in. I spent a total of 350.00 for those two days. And in my budget, I was counting on only paying a total of 100.00 for my stay. That also took some of my grandkids' Christmas gift money away from them. I'm pissed. Motel 6 put a real big cash problem on me. I'm lucky I barely had enough money to buy my bus ticket home. Please make this right. It's the right thing to do.
If you don't, I will find a lawyer who will. Channel 3 will report the issue on channel three news. On January the 15th, if I haven't received or a notice, I will be visiting channel 3 and also a lawyer. That's not a threat, it's a promise. I still have to make it up to my grand kid. And it rough because I'm disabled. Never again will I spend my money at any Motel 6, 1920 W Orangeburg Modesto, CA. Their phone is 209-522-7271.

As I exited the vehicle, she promptly turned away. I thought, "Maybe she's got a call." Okay. I patiently wait at the checkout window, and she's doing paperwork. It made me think, "WTF?" She then turned to me, after about 3 minutes, and GLARED at me. I took no offense, and thought maybe she's having a bad day, whatever. I paid for the room and went to settle in. Upon my arrival, I found black hair all over the bed sheets. Gross! I did my best to strip the bed and clean what I could, I was just tired by then. I went to wash my hands and saw something move out the corner of my eye, a cockroach, not scared at all by the presence of a human. That's when I decided to complain, and get the ** outta there! I made my complaint and left Phoenix for Las Vegas.
Upon my arrival there, I had a free night from Motel 6 from the Phoenix incidents. Check was okay, and I was excited about Vegas, right? Come on! These guys (or gals) decided to stay up until 5am, banging their feet all over the stiff floor boards. Right above my head, my poor exhausted head. I then called the front desk 3 times to ask them to quiet down, and the attendant just sighed and said, "I'll take care of it." WTF? I wanted to scream! Eventually, another shift came on, and kicked them out. If you want to bash Motel 6, spread this story. It's 100% true. Funny thing, I had 2 nights left on my reservation in Vegas, and I just said, "** it." Thanks Motel 6, Thanks!

I rented a room at Motel Six in Woodland Calif on Main St. When I first went in I said to my friend this room smells nasty so we both started spraying perfume. She left; I went to take a shower. There was hair and I thought to myself you can run it down the drain. Then after I removed my clothes I saw there were no towels so I called the front desk. I told them there were no towels. Was told they would bring some right up. So knock on door I didn't want to get dressed again so I grabbed the spread of the bed. When I DID there was a pair of panties with a dirty sanitary pad with blood. I scream WTF. The person at the door says are you ok. I opened the door and showed her. She freaked out. We both started taking pictures and they moved me to another room. I jumped in the shower and cockroaches start running up the wall. Also took pictures.
Few days later I went to get a room and the girl at the front desk said "I'M sorry but you are on the don't rent list." I said "excuse me, why?" "Oh I don't know. Only the manager could say." I wanted to speak with her there or by phone and was told "sorry we don't call management after she leaves the property." "Could you tell me who owns this motel?" "No, I won't." Bottom line she says is "you're not welcome to stay here again." I start to say something and was told if I did not leave the police would be called. There is no reason at all except for the fact that I said I'm calling health department. They were very, very rude. I not party, have guest very quiet. I feel like they are discriminating against me for their wrongdoing.

Everything is documented with Confirmation #'s. Been staying at Motel 6 in Belmont, CA for last 1 1/2 years because I have a Pet for Assisted Living Elders. I come every month from Los Angeles at the same place & never there except late evenings. They never have my 3-day stay right. I pay with C/C always to prove days I book. I'm like clockwork every month. They overcharge, make mistakes, refuse to admit overcharging on C/C. I contact C/C company several times to make sure Fraud is not committed. I ask for General Manager - they ALL ARE! They all cover for each other. I have DRUG ADDICTS following me to my room every night & report it & they do NOTHING! The drug addicts live there because I see them every month I'm there. The only thing that stops them from robbing me is my dog.
They're all afraid of the dog I have. Made numerous complaints as I see them smoking Crack, Grass, cigarettes in the Fire Escape. It's a non smoking building to begin with & no one does anything. These awful addicts are residences there & Motel 6 doesn't want to lose them because they get Government money regularly for them to live there. I know because the addicts told me. The staff does not care for their customers & if they see they're threatened, they will FORCE them out in public in front of customers at the desk. They did that with me by telling me to get out without Warning because I told them I would call the Police if they went into my room to take my stuff out because it's against the law to do that!
They got scared because I've worked in the Legal Field for years & the managers were getting afraid that I may uncover stuff going on. Well I have. DRUGS!!!! I asked them if they have surveillance cameras to check out the ones that are DEALING around my room I rent for 3-4 days every month. They pretend they don't know English... and then when I call on them for explanations as to why they take my money, make mistakes with my cards & make them correct it, they walk away and start servicing other customers. New customers are from other countries visiting & have no idea what's going on. The government, law needs to look into this particular one. I told them if they continue harassing me in public, threatening to throw my stuff out after I paid, kicking me out in public, that I will file a Major Lawsuit against all of them individually and Motel 6 as a Corporation. They ignored me & told me to get out! No reason, no nothing.
One anonymous staff member told me she was afraid... that if I don't do their RATINGS ALL 10 that it doesn't count and they don't want those customers back. When I try to reach the general manager, she won't answer my calls, answer my emails... nothing. But she will respond to the fact I gave bad ratings. That they will and that's why they don't want anyone back that does that. They don't care because they have "in house drug addicts" living there for a long, long time & they're making money. My life and my family's life was in DANGER coming to visit me there in the evenings and being scared to go near Motel 6 because they were afraid to be ROBBED. I will file a legal complaint and anyone that wants to come aboard, please do and then we can have a "Group Lawsuit". It's awful, dangerous and way above the law for me, the children and all that come to this place.
I have monitored it there for over a year & that's why they don't want me there. I told them, "I will NOT give up. You take my money for over a year & then you brutalize me." I was raised in that area all my life and to have the Scum of the Earth not just run the place, but live there is inexcusable. Hopefully, there will be a response to this review & we can get some action going in general. This is America & we have a RIGHT to BUST the ones that are ABOVE THE LAW. Thank you. None of you ever go to Motel 6. If you have Pets like me, you can go to others for the same Price & no Pet Fee. Howard Johnson Express & La Quinta are a few. Good Luck!

Stayed at Motel 6 till our vehicle was fixed. Our 6th night there, my oldest was walking our dog outside when Anita from the front desk knock forcefully on the door saying my kids were running up and down the halls and was asked to leave. My kids were clearly asleep till she knocked so no way they were. She proceeded to call the police on me because I refused to leave and when the police showed up, she came back to the room screaming and hollering at me in front of the police.
We got to stay the night we paid for and asked to leave the next morning. People have no compassion towards others and people at Motel 6 are the rudest people I have encountered in Gastonia, NC. Kids are supposed to stay free and there is nothing posted on the number of children a person is supposed to have in a double room, especially in an emergency situation as ours... My attorney has been made aware of this and appropriate action will follow against Motel 6. Out of the 6 days, we had no hot water for 2 of those days.

Which was not true so we were not allowed back there for one yr. That yr came and went. And I’m still not allowed there. It’s really bad. There I was asked to leave for something I didn't do and my sister got kicked out for asking more than one maid for a towel. We are writing to voice our extreme dissatisfaction with our stay at the Temecula Motel 6, Room 149, on August 3, 2013. We checked in the afternoon of August 3, could stay only long enough to drop off our bags and head off to our reason for being in Temecula that day. First off, we opened the door and were immediately blasted by an old, musty, strong odor of mildew laced with cigarette smoke. We don't believe the filter in the a/c unit had been changed, if ever. We left with our clothes smelling like the room. We did not ask for a smoking room.
Upon our first glance at the room, we noticed right off the bat that the beds were in dire need of replacement. Both beds sagged in the center. This was visible from the doorway with the bedspreads on. Beds in this state of disrepair are not what you would expect when paying $90-$100/night. We returned to the room at approximately 12:30 am on August 4, 2013. Having more opportunity to inspect the room we found that the carpet had big, black, blotchy stains all over the entryway and bathroom areas. Considering the size and amount of staining on the carpet, the smell of mildew started to make sense. We were quite grateful that we keep a can of Febreeze in our vehicle, as we used it - a lot of it. This was unacceptable considering the rate of $90-$100/night.
We turned down the bed to find that the sheets also had dark gray, blotchy stains on them. The blanket was so old, it felt more like a mat than a blanket. There was no pliable softness to it at all. This was unacceptable considering the rate of $90-$100/night. As mentioned above, both beds sagged in the center. Taking the less saggy looking of the two, we climbed into bed only to find ourselves both rolling to the center. It soon became apparent that not only were they saggy, but the mattress felt like we were lying on a box spring. It was unacceptably uncomfortable for the amount of money we were charged.
Sunday morning, Dennis got up to take a shower. There was only one (1) towel. We booked the room for two (2) people. When he got out of the shower, he said there was barely enough water pressure to wash his hair. I, therefore, did not get to wash my hair, as mine is past my waist in length and moderately thick. This again, was unacceptable given the price you charge of $90-$100/night. Before leaving, I went to the office to voice our dissatisfaction and submit my opinion card. All the woman at the desk would do was say, "Oh." No apology, no offer to discount our stay. Nothing.
Motel 6 may leave the light on for you, but honestly, we have had better experiences with $39/night accommodations from your less-advertised competitors. Our experience at the Temecula Motel 6 was indeed displeasing to say the least. We feel that we really got shafted this trip. I doubt we will ever spend another dime at a Motel 6 in consideration of this experience.

Motel 6 Manteca #4756. My husband and I and our 4yr. old autistic son, needed a room for a night. We were not able to stay in our home. I reserved a room early that morning, and we checked in around 6pm that evening. My reservation was for 2 queens non-smoking micro/fridge. Everything was fine that night with the exception of the woman at front desk repeatedly threatening to charge my credit card $100 if I smoked in the room. She warned me a total of 7x during check-in and I assured her we would not smoke in room.
This property has recently been renovated, and the rooms are very nice for the price you pay. When we got to our room, we were disappointed that the security camera directly above our door, was causing interference with our phones, but it was really no big deal. We checked out the next morning. Later we found out that we were not going to be able to return to our home for 2 more days. This time, my husband (who has a different last name) made the reservation. 2 queens non-smoking micro/fridge. We returned to the motel around 2:30 that afternoon. It was very hot that day. Temps in high 90's. My special needs son was getting restless and we were anxious to get to our room.
We checked-in and were issued the same room as the night before. We requested a different room because of the phone interference, but was told this was the only room available. Not a problem. We would manage. We got to room and found it exactly as we left it. It had not been serviced. New reservation, different name, why was the room not clean? It was almost 3pm. After arguing with the woman at the front desk, she finally gave us another room. My son is already becoming distressed at this point.
We go to our new room, open the door, and find it dirty. Garbage everywhere. It smells bad and there was obviously a party here. We return to the front desk. The woman tells us that we should have waited to check-in because the girls had just returned from lunch! What???? It is after 3pm, check-out is 11am. The parking lot was not full of cars. She tells us someone is cleaning it now and we can go wait. My son is very upset. He is hot, tired, hungry, and he does not understand why he cannot go in his room. We had to wait 1 hr. and 20 min. before our room was ready. My son became so distressed that he became physically ill and vomited in the parking lot. The heat did not help any. There is absolutely no shade on the property.
When we got into the room, we found that there was no micro/fridge. We had had enough at this point and were not going to attempt switching rooms again. After getting my son settled in, I went back up to office. I wanted a discount for not having a micro/fridge and the ordeal we had been through. The woman rudely informed me that they did not advertise a micro/fridge and she could not give me a discount. We made our reservations online and specifically chose a room with these amenities. So yes it is advertised. I was not going to press the issue and take the chance of her making us leave. I believe that my family and I were treated wrongly. We were put through an unnecessary ordeal. How can businesses get away with doing this kind of thing after they have taken our money? I will continue to look for some compensation. At least to have some of my money refunded.

This is my second time I stayed in your motel. It was a big surprise and a bad feeling that I've never felt before. I thought I have lost my mind. I had stayed there in Jan. 2012 in a different room. Compared to the last time I was there, now your prices are more than twice (it is okay because of the season and time) but the service is so QUEER. I have nothing to say since all my life I have been traveling much in the world and have stayed in many kinds of motels and hotels, but your room this time is THE FIRST I saw that came as a surprise to me since the room absolutely has NOTHING, just the bed for a kid (15 years old). It should have been for two adults. There's a TV, 1 toilet paper and 2 bar soaps... that is it.
I suppose minor things even coffee or little things should be available in the bathroom... but NOTHING. I have to try to leave early morning. And another important thing is they charged my card many times the cost that totals over double. I know this may be an accident, but the way they solved my issue was unprofessional, and it has been a week and it's still not done. Right now, they still need to get more information from me to go further with the investigation. I just want to say enough to stay away from this hotel. There are a lot of cheaper hotels with much better service, more than 10 times Motel 6.

Anyway, it was late after we got them out, my daughter ended up sleeping over. I had just woke up and I was going to pay for my daughter staying and rent another night. The person from the office got very rude. We are both senior citizens and it takes a minute for us to be able to move. We were trying to get up and start moving, but we can't just jump up and start moving. She was so rude telling us to get up right that second and our bodies just don't do that and to get our stuff out. We were trying to tell her we were going to pay the couple of dollars difference and rent it again, but she was on a rant.
We were in night clothes and we tried to shut the door, but she kept her foot in the door so we couldn't even shut the door to get dressed. I guess we weren't moving fast enough and she called the police, all the while keeping her foot in the door. What kind of people do you have working for you? It could have been handled so differently. We could've paid the little extra and another day and it all would have been fine, but they treat their senior citizens with no respect at all. I truly hope you take care of this problem because there was no reason for us to be treated the way we were. I am still hurting from having to get up that fast and start moving. I use a cane and a walker and am still sore. When I go back to the doctor, I am going to see if I pulled anything or hurt anything. Again, I hope you address this problem promptly. Thank you.

We tried to check in and they attempted to overcharge us. We had to call customer service to MAKE THEM GIVE THE QUOTED PRICE! But Mr. ** was so bothered by it. He sent us an ugly message. ALSO, the room wasn't clean and I showed a photo of how bad their beds were made. I'd decided to never stay there again so we didn't complain anymore. What good would it do, right?
Well, he sent us this email blaming us for his error. Then he got mad at us because we didn't KEEP COMPLAINING! They don't even clean the rooms every day or provide clean towels without you asking! It's on their cards in the room. I'm not lying! Sorry Mr. **, no more complaints because we've knocked you off of our "to stay at" list and we're letting everyone know it:
"Dear SCOTT **: Sir, when you arrived, we had an issue with your reservation because you failed to make it right. We tried to explain this to you when you arrived, but you were not happy with what we were saying. When you made it, you put the wrong price and that messed up your whole total. In future reference, I personally would make it a point to call the hotel I was planning to stay at and make sure my reservation is correct. You stayed with us for 3 nights with no complaints. If you would have let us know you had these issues, they could have easily been fixed. We did not get any complaints from any other guests through that time period. We stayed at this motel more than once and never had a problem with the property manager until this year. We checked in on May 3rd to May 10th and we only stayed a week. Well, needless to say, the morning we left at 3:00 am, nothing was wrong with the room. It was clean and when we first got the room, we walked in and it smelled like cat pee in which this is the same room we stayed in last year and also smelled the same way. Well, we were coming back to our room from going to get something to eat and she came walking up to us and said in an angry voice, "Mr. **, we've had complaints on your dogs (we have two small Chis)." She also said that she heard them all the way down in the lobby which is a lie.
Anyway, one of the housekeepers I spoke to said that there were no complaints and that she was the only one that was complaining. We went back today to try to get a room for a month and she turned us away saying that she could no longer rent to us. My father had called her and asked her why and she said that our dogs damaged the property (the carpet) and that is a lie. Both dogs are housebroken and go outside when they need to... We were only there for a week. That Saturday, when we rode over there, they had rented the room to someone who had 2 big dogs.
I'm sorry; I don't see how she's still working there. She is very, very rude. She has caused a lot of people to quit their jobs. If you are going to have someone working for your company and who is not friendly towards their guests, then she does not need to be working there... plus the room that she lives in is nasty and stinks. Like I said before, we've never had this problem so we gave our money to someone else. This motel is nothing but a drug dealing place... selling drugs out of the parking lot, prostituting females; people are having sex in the pool and they know all about it. Their mattresses have blood stains and urine stains. The ceilings in the bathrooms are falling in. Bath tubs are uneven. They hardly clean the rooms.
I know one of the housekeepers and she is a manager over the other workers and she already got 3 people fired that was there last year. The property manager is a rude nasty ol' ** and she does not need to be working there. I'm going to do something about it because I want her job.

I was in Oklahoma on 05/21/2013, and I checked into Motel 6 at 12:30 am on 05/22/2013. I opened my suitcase, put on my pajamas, and left my suitcase open on the bed with me and went to sleep. I woke up feeling awful. I turned the shower on, but it was taking forever for the water to get hot. I turned the bathroom sink on, and it too was taking forever to get hot. I went to my suitcase to get the clothes that I was going to wear that day, as I left the water running in the sink and in the shower. I heard the water splashing on the floor. I went to turn the water off, because there wasn't a pipe under the sink to catch the water.
Keep in mind, I was naked. I grabbed some clothes to put on and went to the office to ask for another room. They did not have one available at the time, and so they asked me to come back. In the meantime, all of my items are in the room. I returned to the motel to get a key to the new room, and asked if they moved my items for me (2 suitcases and a laptop). They said, "No, but here is a new key and you can move it yourself." Somehow, the original room (228) would not accept the key to get in. It was 5 AM and I was walking back and forth from the motel lobby to this room, each time explaining to the employee, that the key was not working.
I advised that I had to get my items out asap. I had to be in court with Mike ** at 8:30 AM. They could only say, "We are sorry, but we cannot get the door open." They gave me a key to a new room (122), and I asked, "Why? If all of my stuff was locked in room 228, what good would it do me to have a key to room 122?" They finally opened the door to room 228 at 8:37 AM. Of course, this was too late. I had no shower and no make up. I changed clothes and went straight to court.
In the meantime, I was itching like crazy. I assumed it was because I did not take a shower, but the itching was intense, like something was on me. I come to find out that I have numerous bites all over my body. The room was infested with bed bugs. I had to drive back to Nashville, TN with a hair brush scratching the whole way. I ended up going to the hospital to get medication to cure this mess. I ended up staying in the house the whole holiday weekend. I missed out on my holiday pay at my job, and I was supposed to be on a boat to Percy Priest Dam with some friends. I am still stuck in the house, because the doctor at the hospital could not determine if I only had bed bugs, and not scabies.
To end this long dramatic incident, I had to throw away both suitcases to prevent from bringing these bugs into my home. I want to be compensated for this mess. The lady from corporate called me this morning. She said, "Your claim is denied, and you better seek a lawyer. No refund, no compensation. Do not call back."

My fiance and I checked in on Thursday (May 2nd, 2013) with our dog and cat. We were charged $255 for a week. On Saturday, the front desk called and asked us to move to a different room because people were complaining about our dog barking. There were many dogs under us barking more than ours and the the repairman has a small dog that yaps all the time. People were loud outside and, of course, our dog will protect his territory. We asked why the other people wouldn't move to a different room, then decided we would then leave when the week is up.
It angered both of us, so we called around for a cheaper place (manager had given us a choice of moving or leaving with a refund. We were also told only one pet could be in a room even though we were told different when checking in). We ended up calling the same motel, under a different business name, and was quoted $185 (est) for a week with our dog and cat. We were told 2 animals were fine and knew we were talking to this motel because my fiance called while we were waiting for the manager in the lobby area. We called the cops and was told nothing could be done, but we have not heard back from the manager as far as moving to a new room or leaving.
My fiance is a senior citizen with aneurysms and diabetes, also a veteran. We're out $60 and are stressed daily wondering what will happen today. The housekeeping didn't knock on the door like before (I had to go ask for clean towels, facial tissue, toilet paper and the vacuum - which we left in our room, but we came back and the vacuum was gone).

The highlights of my disparate treatment, were being to by Mr. **, "I could have you kicked out now," and "I will make sure you're gone in the morning", and actions included aggressively picking up the front desk phone to make a call, and approaching me aggressively from behind the front desk pointing his finger and telling me "Charlie, I don't make the policies", and to my shock, turning off my telephone in room **, as I was frantically searching for other accommodations.
The phone was turned off at approx. 0830 hrs and I had to call a reservations supervisor to have it turned back on. Mr. ** called my room several times the morning of 4-12-2013, asking me, "Charlie, how much more time do you need?" And he was radioing his staff to check on me and my progress. Needless to say, my stress levels were very high, and this treatment caused me much emotional distress. I will probably not stay at any of G6/Blackstone properties again. I had reservations at Studio 6 in Orlando, Florida and have since cancelled those reservations. My opinion is that your corporation is in jeopardy of good corporate/customer relations due to Mr. ** actions on said days, up to and including safety, integrity, accountability, responsibility, and shareholder returns.
On a separate note, it is my understanding that Motel 6/G6/Blackstone's policy on weekly stays is that Mondays are refresh days and Fridays are complete cleanings. Mr. ** insisted that the housekeeping department knocked at my door and clean every day. This situation was resolved (somewhat), by him insisting that I sign a rooming list on every day I did not want my room cleaned?
Again, being a flight attendant for 17 years, I have stayed all over the world in 1 star up to 5 star properties, and have had such disparate treatment by this gentleman. I asked to speak with the owner of the property on 4-11-2013 at approx. 2020 hrs, and Mr. ** handed me his business card, which stated he was the general manager. When I challenged him on this, he said, "I am the owner."
I would like to request a full refund for my stay at this property from 3-15-2013 to 4-12-2013. The amount I show is a total of $915.36 according to my folio # **. Also, I have learned that all of my internet reservations (with the exception of the Orlando one) have been deleted from the system.

If you can stay somewhere else, anywhere else, do yourself a favor and do so. I made a reservation through customer service yesterday (3/20/13) and checked in at 2:00pm. I was told that room #232 needed to be cleaned and to pay for the room and come back in a half hour. So Shanikqua behind the front desk had printed out a paid receipt. Now, here comes the total. **! I noticed that the housekeeper cleaned the room and being that I paid for the room, put some of my stuff in there. I then went back down to the front desk and told them that the room was clean and that I needed the keys. Three of them had said, "We told you to come back in a half hour. Why are you here now? It's only been 15 minutes. You can't just go to the room."
The greasy haired supervisor behind the front desk, who would not reveal her name after I asked her five times (do you think that this happened a time or two before, do you?) said that I cannot stay there and that she would give me my money back. I was like what just happened here? Can anyone say haters? She said that if I said anymore, she would be calling the police. What? You couldn't ask for a better guest to stay here than me. I am quiet. I don't smoke, drink, etc. and would only be there to sleep as I had a business meeting in the morning.
Do yourself a favor, even though it's cheap, dealing with this load of drama and control can disgust anyone. Spare yourself and stay somewhere where the staff is nice! Their customer relations department is no prize either. When I called to tell them what happened, the representative was like, "Oh there is nothing we can do. I can find another location." Like I would even bother staying at another rattrap, drama filled, poor service, greasy haired staff location! All they would tell me is that Jim Ambrosia was the President and that they had no idea where he was located.

Wife and children stayed at Motel 6 near the airport in Spokane. I went to bed and felt what felt like a few hairs being pulled out. I felt this a couple times. What it turned out being was a small hypodermic needle that broke off under my scalp. I asked wife to check and at first we thought it was a staple. So I contacted manager Brandon who was helpful saying he would call corporate. I am advised I need to get blood drawn and have Hepatitis B and C and also HIV. Cost of visit is around $600. Three days later after calling corporate, they say there was no call. If this happened to one of my kids, I would be handling it differently. Trying to save a few bucks was definitely not worth it.

There was threat of refusal to stay, threat to call the police. Heating/cooling system was non-functioning, remote for TV continuing to un-program (could not use); handle in shower was too stiff to turn. This was a total lack of American-based customer service upon request. It was a disgusting stay - for their profit!

I want to report about my experience at a Motel 6. The room was filthy and nasty. There were red ants in the bathroom. I contacted Motel 6 Customer Relations and they refused to assist as it is a franchise. I asked for a full refund but both the franchise and Motel 6 refused. Motel 6 states that they cannot interfere with a franchise decision even if it makes them look bad. My complaints were about the torn curtains, entrance door to room not cleaned, stains on the door that appears like a fire occurred, red ants and unknown bugs, dirty lamp shades, gum on ceiling, filthy heater, bleached or stained carpets, cigarette burns and stains in the no smoking room along with the smell of cigarettes. Nasty stains on the adjoining door in room and nasty desk tops and chair were also observed. I called Motel 6 to tell them what I felt - that this was unacceptable for any customer as they state that they will provide a safe and clean environment to stay in. An angry manager approached my door 5 min. later telling me I had the best room available and stated no refunds. I called Motel 6 back and they said that there is nothing further they can do. They offered me gift certificates to their stinky motel again. I will pass. I want my money back. I have pictures of the room if needed.

With regard to the condition and behavior of the employee and our room - When we first stayed at the Motel 6, the facilities and people were all very easygoing. The room was clean and the employees were very helpful and understanding of our situation. However, this was not the case in the last approximate week. The maids that were sent to clean the room did a less than satisfactory job of it. The carpet was not vacuumed properly, leaving many spots untouched. The bathtub/shower wall looked like they hadn't even been looked at. The counters weren't touched and on more than one occasion, they forgot to give us proper supplies and gave us the wrong bedsheets, etc. even after calling to have the problem solved.
The worst part of this, I regret to inform, is the behavior and thoughtlessness of some of the employees. I know you are very aware of the series of storms we had involving snow, especially since it was declared a state of emergency. These employees tried making us leave regardless. This dispute was settled but quickly brought up once more as things settled, only this time it was about noise complaints about our dogs. We found this disturbing and decided to investigate on our own because our dogs are relatively quiet. We talked personally to all of our neighbors, upstairs/adjacent/left/right/etc. All of our neighbors gave similar stories stating that they weren't even aware we owned any pets.
We tried to ask the front desk for the complaint form and they informed us that the complaints all came in the form of phone calls. We reluctantly left, telling the front desk that we would be sure to inform you of all the wrong they caused us. We have 3 physically handicapped persons in this family and the very idea that they would be so quick and willing to put us out on the streets is just absurd. Thank you for your time and dedication.

I was feeling a little chilly and so I decided to pull back the blanket. What did I find? A piece of cardboard and some dried up marijuana buds. Now I'm itching and worried about my skin. I went over to check the other bed and found a big dried up booger on the sheet. My fiance went to front desk and they said, "Sorry. You were in the room for more than 10 minutes. We don't do refunds." Really? Wow. That's some service you got. I asked nicely for clean sheets since they wanted to deny a refund and she said to me, "Housekeeping isn't here." Really rude, I think. On a vacation out west, we drove through Utah on our drive back home. We had driven for 12 hours, weary and ready to get some rest before continuing our long journey back home. In Ogden, Utah, we pulled off the interstate highway and sought out a motel and found a Motel 6 on Washington street. The A/C quit working within an hour of checking in the room and the front desk didn't have any fans and we were too exhausted to change rooms at our age in addition to being disabled. Also, there were not any smoking rooms left if we changed rooms and we smoke.
The mattress had springs coming through the covering. The pillows were flattened and worn out. The rest of the bedding was tattered and smelled of body odor and clearly had not been laundered in days as evidenced by human hairs from unknown persons with long black hair on the sheets who had rented the room before us and left behind other forms of DNA as well though it was dried. The shower had no hot water at all though the sink did. The toilet didn't flush properly and was in need of plunging.
The room next to us had occupants with a large dog which would not stop barking or scratching on walls and doors. The two rooms down from us were occupied by a family with foul-mouthed unsupervised young children who, after getting out of the pool, ran up and down the hall dripping wet creating a hazardous fall risk to others walking down the hallway while screaming, cursing and knocking on doors with Do Not Disturb signs clearly harassing other occupants (besides us) and the complaints to the front desk went ignored.
At the end of the hall, a young couple were clearly living at this Motel 6 along with 2 small children. One child was an infant girl, still in diapers who was being punched in the face by the mother right outside our open window and was crying from being physically abused. We, of course, could hear the conversation between the parents since it was outside our open window and what we overheard was they were waiting for someone to meet them there and bring methamphetamine to them.
The TV didn't work and they had nobody available to bring in a replacement even if they had another TV available when we inquired at the front desk after our 4th attempt to reach the clerk by phone. The clerk was a morbidly obese woman who was rude and irritated saying she was tired of our complaints to which we replied that we simply wanted a clean, comfortable smoking room with some form of cooling, hot water to shower, a working TV to check the weather for our travels and some quiet to get some rest and we paid for a room that was supposed to provide these things.
We finally decided to leave to find a decent motel and as we were checking out (and actually got a refund) another denizen of that hell hole came into the office clearly under the influence of drugs and asked her who owned the Lexus with the Harley-Davidson on the trailer in the parking lot. It was ours. She shot the scumbag a look to "shut up" as she darted her eyes at my husband as he signed a paper regarding the refund. As we hurried to our car, there were 3 strange men who were loitering in the parking lot walking around our car and checking out the security of the locks on the trailer which had our Harley on it.
In the shadows by the office door were 2 female prostitutes soliciting an unsuspecting male clearly looking for a motel room for the night just as we had and one of the females attempted to approach my husband who quickly unlocked our car so we could get in and get the heck out of there. We drove back toward the highway and found a very, very nice Best Western that we had overlooked when we pulled off the interstate earlier. We told that clerk of our horrible experience at that Motel 6 and were told that it was known to locals as a "crack motel" that catered to criminals and drug dealers.
At the Best Western Motel, we found our room was quite luxurious and we were given the same price for our room as we paid for that ghetto Motel 6 and even given a special parking area near our room with security cameras to park without worrying about thieves, druggies, prostitutes, child abusers and lowlifes. The Ogden Police need to raid that dope den Motel 6 on Washington street, bulldoze the property, and turn it into a parking lot. After reading these other complaints about Motel 6 all over the country, it seems several of them need to have their light turned off for good. We will never ever stay at another Motel 6.

I was very upset to learn of the deceptive practices of Motel 6. I called to complain to the Guest Relations department about a stay. I filed my complaint and received a reference number with a promise of resolution. Two weeks later, I received a form letter basically saying sorry about that. While I was not expecting anything from my complaint, a form letter was a bit insulting. I called to complain about the response and was told there was nothing more they could do and that the complaint was handled according to company policy. I was assured that my complaint had been forwarded on to "upper management".
Having no faith that my complaint would be forwarded up, I took the time to reach out to the corporate office, hoping to speak with an executive to share my experience. I was surprised and upset when I called the number for their corporate office in Texas and was sent to what was answered as the "Executive Line." The funny thing is, the person I was speaking with was the exact same person I had just spoken to regarding the resolution letter; the person used a fake name. After a few more "calls," I confirmed what I had thought. The same people that take complaints out of Ohio are the same people who then change their names and act like "executives" in Texas. I can't believe Motel 6 would deceive their customers basically saying, "Kiss my **." Are they really looking to improve? Do other companies have fake executive lines? Motel 6 is not committed to the customer who spends their hard earned money in their less than clean rooms in hopes of saving a little money. I am thinking of contacting the attorney general to see if as consumers there is something that can be done. Beware!

I recently stayed at a Motel 6 in Chicopee, MA for 2 nights from 10/20 to 10/23. I had a female stay with me for those 2 days. The female was outside the check-in desk where I was before going to my room. According to policy, if there was an individual on a list of guests who is not allowed to stay at a Motel 6 for reasons according to policy, individuals who were unaware of such policies are also punished by being put on this list. That was the case with me, who, by the way, has stayed at this Motel 6 on several occasions.
Upon checking out of the Motel 6 in Chicopee MA, the female I was with decided to stay another night. I went to the lobby to call for a taxi cab because I was checking out and leaving the facility. 5 minutes later, the female came to the lobby to stay another night, and used a credit/debit card to get a room for herself. When her card was processed, the desk clerk told her that she was on the list of persons who cannot check in to the Motel 6. The desk clerk then asked me if I was staying another day. I told her that I was leaving; I have checked out and had called a taxi, to confirm my intentions. The female then went to get her things and at that time, the desk clerk called up the room that I stayed in. She told the female that she had to leave the facility because she was on the list. The desk clerk made the assumption that the female was checking into the room that I had checked out of. A dispute between the female and the manager ensued. At that time, I was being told that I may be put on the list because it appeared to them that I was covering for her! How could that be?
I went to the lobby and had checked out before the female arrived at the front desk! I was told that because it appeared that I was covering for her somehow, I was implicated as well. The debit/credit card the female used was for the room I had stayed in; thus, the management made the assumption that I was covering for something that I was not aware of. The management then asked me if I was staying with her. Again, I told them that I had checked out, was leaving, and had called a taxi. Upon leaving, I was asked by management to sign some paperwork with regards to the female getting her money back for being refused a room that was in my name, when I had already checked out prior to the female checking in! I asked the management why, when I had already checked out. The female was checking in by herself. I told the management that I was not signing anything because I have checked out. Before leaving, I asked the person in charge if I would be put on the list and told them that I had nothing to do with the female checking in, nor with her being on their list. She nodded her head, saying no, so I left.
On 10/24, I went to the Motel 6 to check in, and I was told that I was on the list! They believed that I was covering for her somehow but could not furnish any evidence that it was true. I was told that the full-scale argument that ensued was the reason - an argument that I had nothing to do with. I told them that I wanted to talk to management, but I was told to come back in the morning when they would be present. On 10/25, I arrived at the Motel 6 and spoke with the manager. She told me that because the female caused such a stir, the police were called in and they had to ask her to leave several times. The female's actions have nothing to do with me! I had checked out prior to the female checking in. The desk clerk could have checked her into another room. It was not my fault that the desk clerk checked the female into the same room that I had used! It wasn't my fault that the female and the management had a dispute after I checked out!
I was not aware of any kind of lists. The management's mistakes are clear: the desk clerk checked the female into the room that I had used and after seeing that the female was on the list, had made assumptions about me checking out and leaving. These assumptions shouldn't have been made. As proof of the assumptions, the management had asked me to sign a form to release the funds that the female paid when she checked in! That had nothing to do with me! The management has not changed their stance and has kept me on this list. I have been a customer of this Motel 6 for years, with no prior issues. These are the consequences that I am paying for because of the management's and the female's actions - after I checked out! Can this be resolved?

Terrible staff and unclean rooms: When I arrived, I was brought to my room that smelled badly of urine. I asked the staff and was told, "Well, it is a pet-friendly room." I have been to many hotels and have never smelled bad urine like this nor would I buy the idea that this is acceptable. I stayed anyway, however, only to be woken by a dog barking loudly and crying for his owner. I told the front desk to which he replied, "What do you want me to do about it," as if that was my responsibility. This went on for three hours of no sleep until I was exhausted of having been woken every two minutes for three hours. A new fellow came on shift and at this point, it was the middle of the night and I was asking for my money back and trying to find another hotel as I had an appointment the next morning. I showed up exhausted.
The next morning thinking things had been resolved, I went to the front desk to renew my room. Because I am disabled, I am unable to lift my arms; I threw the card up onto the counter. Laughing gently, I explained, "Wow, sorry I never meant to do that." I have been disabled for seven years and never once had anyone react this way to the way I throw a card on a counter especially when I explained to which the woman retorts, "I don't care, no one throws cards at me." Shocked at her jumping in ready to get a fight going when it was completely unnecessary, I explained that I was disabled. I asked for her boss' phone number and she would not give it to me. She called me a liar and said she did not see anything wrong with me. I did not see her doctorate degree that entitled her to decide this. She threw my cards back and said she would not book me.
I called the complaint desk to learn that the hotel is privately owned and there is no way of dealing with this. In that moment, I realized that this woman had the authority to be rude, fight with clients and then throw them out! And that the owner is not on site on Sundays and so there is, in fact, nothing in place to prevent this. As a family and an individual, I have stayed at Motel 6's across America for over thirty years. I will never come back and am seeking advice from an attorney. I have never experienced such a lack of client care, compassion, responsibility and hotel etiquette in any hotel, not even close.

My wife and I had made reservations for 2 of the Motel 6s due to our making at least 2 trips a year. The motel that we hated was the Motel 6 in Oklahoma City, OK 73108 for the night of Friday 09/07/2012. # 116 Airport. We arrived at about 4:54 pm. I was told they were going to put us in a better room because the one that had been assigned was way in the back. The room we got was horrible. The beds were so gross we couldn't sleep in either of them and one of them (the one by the door) was so bad that the cloth on the box spring was all torn and had something brown all over it! If we hadn't been so tired (we had been driving for 14 hrs. straight), we would have walked out immediately and now wish we had.
We left at 5 am in the morning after getting very little sleep. The desk clerk asked how our stay was so I told him how they needed to throw the beds away and that I believed the corp. office would not be happy with the room the way it is. And I also told him how there is a gap so large around the door we could see outside and flies were getting in and we also saw what didn't look like a legal transaction go on right out in the parking lot (money being given for something handed in exchange). It was the worst motel I have ever been in and will not go in again!
To give the good side of our trip, we also had made a reservation in Flagstaff Motel 6 # 301 and it was great! It was exactly what I expected for the price, a nice clean bed with no stains and nice bedding on top and underneath. They even called to our room to ask how everything was and we told them it was great. So please bring the Motel 6 OK City, OK Airport # 116 up to the same level as Flagstaff or close it. It is not fit to stay in! We still feel like things are crawling on us.

Bait and Switch False Advertising - There was and still is a cell phone Google search on the computer for an advertisement for special walk-in rate for Motel 6 and it has one address. That is 101 W 65th street in Davenport, Iowa 52806. I walked in and the girl attendant said that since there was an air show going on in town, that they were all booked. She then said that I couldn't get that advertised rate for weekends or holidays, and that was understood and I am familiar with that. She then told me that if I come back on Monday, she could give me the advertised special Monday through Thursday, but through the weekend the special does not apply. I was totally reciprocal with the verbiage and had her give me a total of what my stay would be if I come back on that Monday.
When I came back after the weekend, the owner threw a fit on me. I had told another attendant that the other gal had given me a total of what I could stay for and gave her the information. She said, "I'm sorry, we can't honor the coupon special walk-in." I told her what the other gal had said and that was the primary reason that I had not booked anywhere else. Then, the owner walked in and I asked him if he was going to honor, not only what the other attendant had told me but also the advertisement right there on my phone with the address (not a national or general ad) location and all pointing to his motel only. He threw his arms in the air and said, "I told corporate to take that ad off the internet and I am not going to honor it no matter what because I can't afford to stay open if I charge those prices." I told him that this is his prerogative; however, the advertisement was right there in black and white, therefore surely he would honor it.
He looked straight at me and said, "You will not stay here at those prices. No!" I told him that this was bait and switch and false advertising, and that if he were me, he would be appalled at such a thing, and in the car business it would be a $10,000 fine and shut down for three months. He, of course, didn't like those numbers and became more enraged and said, "You will not stay at this motel for any price no matter who says anything!" Of course at that point, the integrity, honor and opinion of Motel 6 was completely formed in my mind even though this apparently is owned by him and has been for a few years.
This young man needs to change the name of his motel very fast. I am a senior citizen and having lived many years and stayed in the finest hotels and motels around the country, I don't think I have ever been disappointed in the integrity of a Motel 6 as this man represents. It wasn't the money savings as much as the total embarrassment of even trying to get the young man to honor his word, as this advertisement clearly has his address on it.

On Monday, September 10, 2012, approximately 9:55 PM CDT, Enoch **, 21 years old, and his fiance Rita **, 19, began a 2,350-mile drive from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to Las Vegas, Nevada - my son’s home and where I reside. This was a very exciting time for them because although they were US-born Americans, they have seen very little of the United States. I, Enoch **, was very concerned for their safety, so I took off from my work to monitor their travels and be available if any emergency arose.
My son's road positions were telecommunicated so that I could Google map those coordinates. This close communication allowed me to warn them of weather and traffic conditions in real time. This time was just as much a thrill for me as for them. After 13 hours of driving and 890 miles past, I had recommended they rest at an upcoming Motel 6. I knew of Motel 6, their management, clean rooms and felt comfortable knowing Enoch and Rita would be safe there. I did check the room’s availability online and a call to the motel revealed, "We have plenty of rooms. A reservation is not needed if you are arriving within an hour or so." My son arrived at the motel within the next 30 minutes.
While I spoke with Rita on her cell phone, my son entered into the enclosed reception area to ask for a room. My son, Enoch, literally spent less than one minute from the time he closed the car door till the time he returned to his seat to only say, "She said we need an online reservation to stay here - no rooms available." I immediately logged online, checked availability and paid for a reservation. Then I gave my son the confirmation number. Unfazed and within clear observance of Rita, my son reentered the reception area, only to quickly return saying that there were still no rooms available.
Understanding that reservation departments may control room occupancies, I personally called the toll-free line. I spoke to Brandon whom I explained all that had happened; Brandon told me that my online reservation was cancelled by me just minutes before. I assured Brandon that I had not and I needed a room. Brandon apologized for the confusion, "guaranteed" room occupancy, and said to call back if there were a problem with availability. Again, my son returned to the receptionist without malice and gently explained that there may be a confusion and could she check his new confirmation as it was guaranteed. Enoch again returned to the car saying that there were "no availabilities." Frustrated and tired, Enoch and Rita searched and found alternative lodging nearby without any incident.
Now, Rita called reservation and spoke to Brandon, asking for an explanation for not honoring the "room’s guarantee." Brandon looked up the reservation system for information and apologetically said, "The hotel's clerk on duty reported that Enoch ** was intoxicated, was hostile, caused an altercation and was accompanied by 6 individuals of the same character." Enoch ** is a soft spoken man of a calm demeanor. EJ, as we affectingly call him, has aspirations of becoming a father and joining military services. Enoch had just started driving to Nevada earlier that day after deciding to leave his schooling to be closer to family and help me and his pregnant mother run a family business.
Enoch ** and Rita **, the ** and ** family and friends that have heard of this incident, are appalled by the endorsement of Motel Six and its management’s selection for employees that profile and look to discriminate based on color, creed and just personal preference. We feel that the token and unfelt "words" of apologies made by a voice-over-the-phone-pseudo-management while doing nothing more only endorse the actions of this night clerk. We feel that the lies and unheard repentance of this unnamed night clerk shadows the integrity and honor of American business virtues and violates federal discrimination law. This incident has caused great anguish and everlasting psychological trauma to Enoch **, Rita **, their mothers and fathers, and to many others of the ** and ** family.
To rectify, to better understand and to just clear a good name from any outstanding allegations that may affect the character of Enoch **, I/we request, without subpoena, copies of the video recording(s) of any incident that occurred within the times of one hour prior and one hour past the hour of 10:00 PM CDT on September 11, 2012. This we ask only to verify the claims of harassment, altercation, intoxication, congregations of persons accompanying and causing threat to the night clerk other than Enoch ** and up to six (6) persons. We believe, as business owners, that if there is one employee that is acting inappropriately, it affects the whole company. To cover up is to enable and embrace injustice. We sincerely pray that this incident is not ignored.

After making a reservation, weeks before driving 500 miles, I was told that Motel 6 in New Cumberland, PA would not rent to me for some unknown reasons and to contact the corporate office. So, I did and got nowhere. They told me to contact the manager; got the runaround. I was a loyal customer at this location - 2 times a year for the last 20 plus years. I will never stay at any Motel 6 again! Please turn off the lights for me and my family! Many other hotels/motels in this area (Rt. 76/83) …

I stayed at Motel 6 in Norfolk, Va. Military highway. My family has a vacation every year. We chose Motel 6 because they were affordable and the rooms did not look bad in the pictures. We arrived on June 20. We had booked 7 rooms for the entire family. We arrived and they were not ready for us. We had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for all the rooms to be ready. When we got in the room, there were two towels and two wash clothes. We had to wait until the next day to get two more. The following day, my 4-year-old child fell from the second floor of their balcony that was missing an entire rail. The police officer that was assigned to Motel 6 treated me like a criminal. He scared my child much more than the fall. He humiliated me and my family. The manager was rude and unsympathetic. They called child welfare as well as the police. They did all of this before fixing the rail, putting up a caution sign or anything.
My child was rushed to the hospital where he received a cat scan, ultra sound, and several other tests. We stayed at the hospital for 8 hours on the second night of our family vacation. While I was at the hospital, the police arrived and immediately noticed the missing rail, took pictures, measured the whole, and determined that my child had injured himself through no fault of my child or myself. I was immediately contacted by someone in Motel 6’s corporate office. They did apologize and state they were going to conduct a full investigation. I was also advised they were going to forward me to their insurance company Liberty Mutual due to the serious nature of the accident. I received a call from Erin **, their claims manager. At first she was as friendly and nice as possible. After she found out our hospital bill alone was $6,289 + $120 for the emergency + $389 for the ambulance, she completely changed. She went from being caring and compassionate to being rude and unresponsive.
Erin stated all she was allowed to offer was the hospital bill + $1,500. I told her that was unacceptable. She stated that was the standard offer for personal injuries. After going back and forth for 3 weeks, we agreed on $11,000. That was medical bills and pain and suffering. She told me she would send me the paperwork to sign. I received the paperwork 5 days later. The paperwork said they denied any wrong and refused to take any responsibility. The release form basically said, “It wasn’t our fault the balcony was defective and your child fell two stories.” I called Erin back after receiving the release letter and explained to her that I was uncomfortable with the wording. I also advised her that I would need to file a separate claim for the hospital bills since my child was a minor and any money awarded to him would be put in a holding account until he turns 18 (which I have no problem with).
Erin immediately became rude and defensive, stating that was a standard release letter for Liberty Mutual and she could not alter, as well as completely shutting out the separate claim. She advised me to sign the release and send it back and she would tell her legal team how I needed the money distributed. I explained to Erin that she has 150 cases and I can go on what you are telling me if I have to sign this letter. She stated she would have her legal dept. contact me. I never received a call. I then called the Motel 6 in Norfolk and asked for the corporate number. They stated they could not give me the number, but they could transfer me. They transferred me to a voice mail of Sarah in Legal. I left her a 3-minute voice mail only to receive a call back from Erin, angry and asking if I had called the corporate office. I told her yes. She stated the case was sent to her and that I was not to contact anyone else.
I explained to Erin that the Motel 6 was 100% responsible for the accident; and if I was not happy with the way she was handling my claim, I could contact anyone I needed too. She stated, “Regardless of who you contact, you will have to go through me to get this resolved.” My biggest issue with Motel 6 is you could have killed my child; and instead of taking full responsibility and making sure my bills were covered, you gave it to an insurance provider who is not willing to help. I asked for a different case manager and I was refused. So now I have to spend the time finding a lawyer who can assist me because that’s what Erin suggested. Meanwhile, the hospital bill is about to go to collections and I have no one who can help. So, please do not stay at Motel 6 if you have children. It’s completely unsafe, and they are not willing to help if something happens. And the only interest of Liberty Mutual is paying the lowest amount possible.

I made reservations on a travel site to stay at Motel 6 in Binghamton, NY and the total with tax was $168. When I arrived, they said "Oh, no, that was without tax. Your total is $191." I had no choice but to pay since there was an event in town and all rooms were booked. My receipt for stay shows room charge of $49.95 night (3-night stay) and $6.95 tax per night. How does this add up to $191? The manager refused to talk to me about it. The rooms were disgusting, maid service would pound on door at 8 am even with "Do not disturb" on door. I will never stay in Binghamton Motel 6 or any for that matter ever again!

I had a 2 day, 1 night work trip. The one night stay was at Lake Havasu. The reservation was made at Motel 6 on 2176 Birch Square, Lake Havasu City, AZ. I arrived there at 8 pm after a 12-hr. work day. I was hoping for a quick check in, shower, and bed. I couldn't believe the dump that I pulled into. I had printed off the reservation that was made and had what I thought was a picture of the motel on it. I double checked the address and etc. Unbelievably, it was the right place. Picture was a complete lie and misadvertisement. The druggies and drunks running in and out of the place made me nervous and disgusted. Upon check-in, the one staff person appeared to be dirty, very unprofessional and all around looked like she was part of the crowd staying there.
So against my better judgement, I proceeded to check-in since I had a reservation. I had requested a non-smoking room which probably it was at one time but is very obvious that it had been heavily smoked in. So, I was extremely pissed off at this point and extremely grossed out. I knew once walking down the hallway that was heavily stained carpet(?) who knows what the flooring was, that the room was going to be even worse. And yes, it was. Mattress was stained horribly and bedbugs were all over the room!
I have been in the pest control industry for some years now. I understand how bedbugs can happen to anyone at anytime but there is a time, like immediately, that a motel should hire a pest control company to rid them of the problem. This place has no care in the world for the safety of the guests or the cleanliness of the motel. It is quite sad that they can post pictures of a nice looking motel to trick people into making reservations and the surprise welcome to a **!
After the bedbugs, I went to the front and asked to not be charged for the room and that I was not going to stay there. The place was beyond unsanitary and the bedbug problem was out of control. So, of course you get the typical half **, "I'm sorry, let me offer you a new room." Ha! You couldn't pay me to stay there and besides, chances are your vehicle would be missing in the morning. The sad part is, I called the (so-called) manager of the property the next morning to ask why she is getting paid to manage a property that should be condemned. Of course, this person could not be reached and I'm still waiting for that call back. I am writing this in hopes that someone is able and willing to shut this place down, or at the very least, keep innocent people from being tricked into going there.

I stayed at Motel 6 (Bellmawr, NJ) for close to two months. It was the cheapest motel in the area and the staff appeared to be friendly. After about a month into my stay and sitting in the lobby, I realized how nasty the front desk staff were. First, we had asked for a non-smoking room and they still gave us one. And all the sheets had burned holes in them. Then while having coffee, I saw the front desk lady chase one of the customers down the hall and tell her that that was the third time she saw her take coffee and she was not to come back and take anymore. One guest left half an hour after his check out time and in front of everyone, she said to the customer that next time, he must be out on time. For breakfast, you were only allowed to take a certain amount of muffins and if you took more they'd start yelling that you took too much. One day, I went to make coffee and the front desk lady came and turned off the light and moved the muffin. I didn't want them anyway. Housekeeping was great. I will never support a company that treats their customers like crap.

I was a late arrival for a large convention near South Bend, IN, and as such, had little choice as to where I could stay. It seemed the only place left was the Motel 6 in South Bend. Reluctantly, I booked a room there through Orbit, and hoped for the best. When I arrived, I found what can best be described as a dump. Filthy, greasy, carpeting, a door that had been kicked in at some point, and no longer closed properly, and a shower that did not work. I was completely stuck there, as literally every room in a 40 mile radius was sold. The staff was helpful, and acknowledged that the property had gone "way downhill" in the last few years. Accor has sold the chain to Blackstone, who may just turn it around. The motto should be, "We'll leave the light on for you, so you don't get stabbed by a pimp in South Bend."

August 11, 2012, my son Carl ** and his fiancee Latavia **, who is a model, was staying at Motel 6 in Addison, Texas. Her company pays for the room. Three days prior, we had to call the ambulance because she was severely ill and dehydrated. The office staff came and took a report. They returned from the hospital on bed rest. The room they had, room 290, was paid weekly by her company she works for. They only lived there for 2 weeks. Today, they tried to pay for the next week and were told they could not. The general manager was supposedly there and said they were trafficking and had to get out. They tried to contact the corporate office or the general manager. The office was closed and the general manager can't be reached, but they were just there and can't be reached by telephone.
This is a 22-year-old female on bed rest, new to Texas and a 26-year-old college graduate, black male accused of trafficking with no proof. The only visitors they had were I (which I am his mom) and his dad, the police, fire department and ambulance when the 911 call was made. No complaints of disturbances or anything. The first time I pulled up there in Motel 6, I told my son I did not like the place. The opposite side of where they stay, people hanging all out like they were in a park. This is totally crazy! I do plan to get to take this further, get a lawyer for my son and contact corporate.
How dare they attack somebody's character like that with no evidence, pictures or anything and not to mention, put the young lady out who was on bed rest? The general manager who represents this corporation needs to be severely reprimanded. They had to get out. Someone from the model agency had to come and pack them up and relocate them. This is money lost for your company. I will tell everyone never to stay at Motel 6 especially in Texas. From what I see, the only people who stay there are people who can't rent apartments or on section 8.
