Bait and Switch False Advertising - There was and still is a cell phone Google search on the computer for an advertisement for special walk-in rate for Motel 6 and it has one address. That is 101 W 65th street in Davenport, Iowa 52806. I walked in and the girl attendant said that since there was an air show going on in town, that they were all booked. She then said that I couldn't get that advertised rate for weekends or holidays, and that was understood and I am familiar with that. She then told me that if I come back on Monday, she could give me the advertised special Monday through Thursday, but through the weekend the special does not apply. I was totally reciprocal with the verbiage and had her give me a total of what my stay would be if I come back on that Monday.
When I came back after the weekend, the owner threw a fit on me. I had told another attendant that the other gal had given me a total of what I could stay for and gave her the information. She said, "I'm sorry, we can't honor the coupon special walk-in." I told her what the other gal had said and that was the primary reason that I had not booked anywhere else. Then, the owner walked in and I asked him if he was going to honor, not only what the other attendant had told me but also the advertisement right there on my phone with the address (not a national or general ad) location and all pointing to his motel only. He threw his arms in the air and said, "I told corporate to take that ad off the internet and I am not going to honor it no matter what because I can't afford to stay open if I charge those prices." I told him that this is his prerogative; however, the advertisement was right there in black and white, therefore surely he would honor it.
He looked straight at me and said, "You will not stay here at those prices. No!" I told him that this was bait and switch and false advertising, and that if he were me, he would be appalled at such a thing, and in the car business it would be a $10,000 fine and shut down for three months. He, of course, didn't like those numbers and became more enraged and said, "You will not stay at this motel for any price no matter who says anything!" Of course at that point, the integrity, honor and opinion of Motel 6 was completely formed in my mind even though this apparently is owned by him and has been for a few years.
This young man needs to change the name of his motel very fast. I am a senior citizen and having lived many years and stayed in the finest hotels and motels around the country, I don't think I have ever been disappointed in the integrity of a Motel 6 as this man represents. It wasn't the money savings as much as the total embarrassment of even trying to get the young man to honor his word, as this advertisement clearly has his address on it.

I am a "tan-colored" American and the father of a 21-year-old son that I believe was profiled and discriminated from lodging at Motel 6 Kansas City East - Blue Springs # 384 (901 NW Jefferson St, Blue Springs, MO 64015). On Monday, September 10, 2012, approximately 9:55 PM CDT, Enoch **, 21 years old, and his fiance Rita **, 19, began a 2,350-mile drive from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to Las Vegas, Nevada - my son’s home and where I reside. This was a very exciting time for them because although they were US-born Americans, they have seen very little of the United States. I, Enoch **, was very concerned for their safety, so I took off from my work to monitor their travels and be available if any emergency arose.
My son's road positions were telecommunicated so that I could Google map those coordinates. This close communication allowed me to warn them of weather and traffic conditions in real time. This time was just as much a thrill for me as for them. After 13 hours of driving and 890 miles past, I had recommended they rest at an upcoming Motel 6. I knew of Motel 6, their management, clean rooms and felt comfortable knowing Enoch and Rita would be safe there. I did check the room’s availability online and a call to the motel revealed, "We have plenty of rooms. A reservation is not needed if you are arriving within an hour or so." My son arrived at the motel within the next 30 minutes.
While I spoke with Rita on her cell phone, my son entered into the enclosed reception area to ask for a room. My son, Enoch, literally spent less than one minute from the time he closed the car door till the time he returned to his seat to only say, "She said we need an online reservation to stay here - no rooms available." I immediately logged online, checked availability and paid for a reservation. Then I gave my son the confirmation number. Unfazed and within clear observance of Rita, my son reentered the reception area, only to quickly return saying that there were still no rooms available.
Understanding that reservation departments may control room occupancies, I personally called the toll-free line. I spoke to Brandon whom I explained all that had happened; Brandon told me that my online reservation was cancelled by me just minutes before. I assured Brandon that I had not and I needed a room. Brandon apologized for the confusion, "guaranteed" room occupancy, and said to call back if there were a problem with availability. Again, my son returned to the receptionist without malice and gently explained that there may be a confusion and could she check his new confirmation as it was guaranteed. Enoch again returned to the car saying that there were "no availabilities." Frustrated and tired, Enoch and Rita searched and found alternative lodging nearby without any incident.
Now, Rita called reservation and spoke to Brandon, asking for an explanation for not honoring the "room’s guarantee." Brandon looked up the reservation system for information and apologetically said, "The hotel's clerk on duty reported that Enoch ** was intoxicated, was hostile, caused an altercation and was accompanied by 6 individuals of the same character." Enoch ** is a soft spoken man of a calm demeanor. EJ, as we affectingly call him, has aspirations of becoming a father and joining military services. Enoch had just started driving to Nevada earlier that day after deciding to leave his schooling to be closer to family and help me and his pregnant mother run a family business.
Enoch ** and Rita **, the ** and ** family and friends that have heard of this incident, are appalled by the endorsement of Motel Six and its management’s selection for employees that profile and look to discriminate based on color, creed and just personal preference. We feel that the token and unfelt "words" of apologies made by a voice-over-the-phone-pseudo-management while doing nothing more only endorse the actions of this night clerk. We feel that the lies and unheard repentance of this unnamed night clerk shadows the integrity and honor of American business virtues and violates federal discrimination law. This incident has caused great anguish and everlasting psychological trauma to Enoch **, Rita **, their mothers and fathers, and to many others of the ** and ** family.
To rectify, to better understand and to just clear a good name from any outstanding allegations that may affect the character of Enoch **, I/we request, without subpoena, copies of the video recording(s) of any incident that occurred within the times of one hour prior and one hour past the hour of 10:00 PM CDT on September 11, 2012. This we ask only to verify the claims of harassment, altercation, intoxication, congregations of persons accompanying and causing threat to the night clerk other than Enoch ** and up to six (6) persons. We believe, as business owners, that if there is one employee that is acting inappropriately, it affects the whole company. To cover up is to enable and embrace injustice. We sincerely pray that this incident is not ignored.

After making a reservation, weeks before driving 500 miles, I was told that Motel 6 in New Cumberland, PA would not rent to me for some unknown reasons and to contact the corporate office. So, I did and got nowhere. They told me to contact the manager; got the runaround. I was a loyal customer at this location - 2 times a year for the last 20 plus years. I will never stay at any Motel 6 again! Please turn off the lights for me and my family! Many other hotels/motels in this area (Rt. 76/83) …

I stayed at Motel 6 in Norfolk, Va. Military highway. My family has a vacation every year. We chose Motel 6 because they were affordable and the rooms did not look bad in the pictures. We arrived on June 20. We had booked 7 rooms for the entire family. We arrived and they were not ready for us. We had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for all the rooms to be ready. When we got in the room, there were two towels and two wash clothes. We had to wait until the next day to get two more. The following day, my 4-year-old child fell from the second floor of their balcony that was missing an entire rail. The police officer that was assigned to Motel 6 treated me like a criminal. He scared my child much more than the fall. He humiliated me and my family. The manager was rude and unsympathetic. They called child welfare as well as the police. They did all of this before fixing the rail, putting up a caution sign or anything.
My child was rushed to the hospital where he received a cat scan, ultra sound, and several other tests. We stayed at the hospital for 8 hours on the second night of our family vacation. While I was at the hospital, the police arrived and immediately noticed the missing rail, took pictures, measured the whole, and determined that my child had injured himself through no fault of my child or myself. I was immediately contacted by someone in Motel 6’s corporate office. They did apologize and state they were going to conduct a full investigation. I was also advised they were going to forward me to their insurance company Liberty Mutual due to the serious nature of the accident. I received a call from Erin **, their claims manager. At first she was as friendly and nice as possible. After she found out our hospital bill alone was $6,289 + $120 for the emergency + $389 for the ambulance, she completely changed. She went from being caring and compassionate to being rude and unresponsive.
Erin stated all she was allowed to offer was the hospital bill + $1,500. I told her that was unacceptable. She stated that was the standard offer for personal injuries. After going back and forth for 3 weeks, we agreed on $11,000. That was medical bills and pain and suffering. She told me she would send me the paperwork to sign. I received the paperwork 5 days later. The paperwork said they denied any wrong and refused to take any responsibility. The release form basically said, “It wasn’t our fault the balcony was defective and your child fell two stories.” I called Erin back after receiving the release letter and explained to her that I was uncomfortable with the wording. I also advised her that I would need to file a separate claim for the hospital bills since my child was a minor and any money awarded to him would be put in a holding account until he turns 18 (which I have no problem with).
Erin immediately became rude and defensive, stating that was a standard release letter for Liberty Mutual and she could not alter, as well as completely shutting out the separate claim. She advised me to sign the release and send it back and she would tell her legal team how I needed the money distributed. I explained to Erin that she has 150 cases and I can go on what you are telling me if I have to sign this letter. She stated she would have her legal dept. contact me. I never received a call. I then called the Motel 6 in Norfolk and asked for the corporate number. They stated they could not give me the number, but they could transfer me. They transferred me to a voice mail of Sarah in Legal. I left her a 3-minute voice mail only to receive a call back from Erin, angry and asking if I had called the corporate office. I told her yes. She stated the case was sent to her and that I was not to contact anyone else.
I explained to Erin that the Motel 6 was 100% responsible for the accident; and if I was not happy with the way she was handling my claim, I could contact anyone I needed too. She stated, “Regardless of who you contact, you will have to go through me to get this resolved.” My biggest issue with Motel 6 is you could have killed my child; and instead of taking full responsibility and making sure my bills were covered, you gave it to an insurance provider who is not willing to help. I asked for a different case manager and I was refused. So now I have to spend the time finding a lawyer who can assist me because that’s what Erin suggested. Meanwhile, the hospital bill is about to go to collections and I have no one who can help. So, please do not stay at Motel 6 if you have children. It’s completely unsafe, and they are not willing to help if something happens. And the only interest of Liberty Mutual is paying the lowest amount possible.

I made reservations on a travel site to stay at Motel 6 in Binghamton, NY and the total with tax was $168. When I arrived, they said "Oh, no, that was without tax. Your total is $191." I had no choice but to pay since there was an event in town and all rooms were booked. My receipt for stay shows room charge of $49.95 night (3-night stay) and $6.95 tax per night. How does this add up to $191? The manager refused to talk to me about it. The rooms were disgusting, maid service would pound on door at 8 am even with "Do not disturb" on door. I will never stay in Binghamton Motel 6 or any for that matter ever again!

I had a 2 day, 1 night work trip. The one night stay was at Lake Havasu. The reservation was made at Motel 6 on 2176 Birch Square, Lake Havasu City, AZ. I arrived there at 8 pm after a 12-hr. work day. I was hoping for a quick check in, shower, and bed. I couldn't believe the dump that I pulled into. I had printed off the reservation that was made and had what I thought was a picture of the motel on it. I double checked the address and etc. Unbelievably, it was the right place. Picture was a complete lie and misadvertisement. The druggies and drunks running in and out of the place made me nervous and disgusted. Upon check-in, the one staff person appeared to be dirty, very unprofessional and all around looked like she was part of the crowd staying there.
So against my better judgement, I proceeded to check-in since I had a reservation. I had requested a non-smoking room which probably it was at one time but is very obvious that it had been heavily smoked in. So, I was extremely pissed off at this point and extremely grossed out. I knew once walking down the hallway that was heavily stained carpet(?) who knows what the flooring was, that the room was going to be even worse. And yes, it was. Mattress was stained horribly and bedbugs were all over the room!
I have been in the pest control industry for some years now. I understand how bedbugs can happen to anyone at anytime but there is a time, like immediately, that a motel should hire a pest control company to rid them of the problem. This place has no care in the world for the safety of the guests or the cleanliness of the motel. It is quite sad that they can post pictures of a nice looking motel to trick people into making reservations and the surprise welcome to a **!
After the bedbugs, I went to the front and asked to not be charged for the room and that I was not going to stay there. The place was beyond unsanitary and the bedbug problem was out of control. So, of course you get the typical half **, "I'm sorry, let me offer you a new room." Ha! You couldn't pay me to stay there and besides, chances are your vehicle would be missing in the morning. The sad part is, I called the (so-called) manager of the property the next morning to ask why she is getting paid to manage a property that should be condemned. Of course, this person could not be reached and I'm still waiting for that call back. I am writing this in hopes that someone is able and willing to shut this place down, or at the very least, keep innocent people from being tricked into going there.

I stayed at Motel 6 (Bellmawr, NJ) for close to two months. It was the cheapest motel in the area and the staff appeared to be friendly. After about a month into my stay and sitting in the lobby, I realized how nasty the front desk staff were. First, we had asked for a non-smoking room and they still gave us one. And all the sheets had burned holes in them. Then while having coffee, I saw the front desk lady chase one of the customers down the hall and tell her that that was the third time she saw her take coffee and she was not to come back and take anymore. One guest left half an hour after his check out time and in front of everyone, she said to the customer that next time, he must be out on time. For breakfast, you were only allowed to take a certain amount of muffins and if you took more they'd start yelling that you took too much. One day, I went to make coffee and the front desk lady came and turned off the light and moved the muffin. I didn't want them anyway. Housekeeping was great. I will never support a company that treats their customers like crap.

I was a late arrival for a large convention near South Bend, IN, and as such, had little choice as to where I could stay. It seemed the only place left was the Motel 6 in South Bend. Reluctantly, I booked a room there through Orbit, and hoped for the best. When I arrived, I found what can best be described as a dump. Filthy, greasy, carpeting, a door that had been kicked in at some point, and no longer closed properly, and a shower that did not work. I was completely stuck there, as literally every room in a 40 mile radius was sold. The staff was helpful, and acknowledged that the property had gone "way downhill" in the last few years. Accor has sold the chain to Blackstone, who may just turn it around. The motto should be, "We'll leave the light on for you, so you don't get stabbed by a pimp in South Bend."

August 11, 2012, my son Carl ** and his fiancee Latavia **, who is a model, was staying at Motel 6 in Addison, Texas. Her company pays for the room. Three days prior, we had to call the ambulance because she was severely ill and dehydrated. The office staff came and took a report. They returned from the hospital on bed rest. The room they had, room 290, was paid weekly by her company she works for. They only lived there for 2 weeks. Today, they tried to pay for the next week and were told they could not. The general manager was supposedly there and said they were trafficking and had to get out. They tried to contact the corporate office or the general manager. The office was closed and the general manager can't be reached, but they were just there and can't be reached by telephone.
This is a 22-year-old female on bed rest, new to Texas and a 26-year-old college graduate, black male accused of trafficking with no proof. The only visitors they had were I (which I am his mom) and his dad, the police, fire department and ambulance when the 911 call was made. No complaints of disturbances or anything. The first time I pulled up there in Motel 6, I told my son I did not like the place. The opposite side of where they stay, people hanging all out like they were in a park. This is totally crazy! I do plan to get to take this further, get a lawyer for my son and contact corporate.
How dare they attack somebody's character like that with no evidence, pictures or anything and not to mention, put the young lady out who was on bed rest? The general manager who represents this corporation needs to be severely reprimanded. They had to get out. Someone from the model agency had to come and pack them up and relocate them. This is money lost for your company. I will tell everyone never to stay at Motel 6 especially in Texas. From what I see, the only people who stay there are people who can't rent apartments or on section 8.

We are staying at a Motel 6 from the 1st to the 15th of August, and so far we have been told with a weekly rate (discounted rate). We do not receive daily room service. All we ask for is trash to be removed and new towels daily and every 3 days, new bedding. We were told to reuse the towels for a few days as they are not able to supply fresh towels daily. One of the days that they did come for room service, they cleaned and made one bed and left the other saying they had no sheets available for the 2nd bed. They took out one trash can and left the other full of trash, and had no towels but said they had to bring us some new ones later.
I was so dissatisfied that I resorted to calling the executive of the Motel 6 and talked to them. They looked up our reservation stating they could not find it then asked what room I was in, and they finally found it and looked up the hotel rules. She took the complaint, but proceeded to tell me that they have guidelines that they follow as far as the weekly rates and daily rates being different for room service. Since weekly is discounted, we don't pay the extra for the room service daily. I was told to put the trash outside they would get it, still 3 hours later trash is still there. Therefore, anything we need other than the every three days, we must go to the front and get towels, cups, ice bags or trash bags.
When I did go to the front desk to ask for towels, I was told they could not supply more than two towels per room and we have 4 people in the room. So, we have to share towels and reuse them for several days. The GM the next day came to us and told us she cannot give out fresh towels daily. We were told on the off days that they don't service the room, we were to service our own room and I thought with any hotel that is what you pay them for.

Last night, I got a room there and after unloading my car and walking and feeding the dog, I pulled the covers about a quarter of the way back. I saw a bunch of black stuff. They looked like bark or something, I really don't know, and there were lots of it. After looking closer, I noticed little specks, maybe bugs, so I pulled the blanket about half way down and a rat was eating on the sheets. Needless to say, I packed up, got a refund and got back on the road to find another place. This place is disgusting. I could also be here making a complaint about the smell but I think a rat in the bed I was about to get into is enough.

On Friday, August 3, we checked into Room 303 of Motel 6 in Warrick, RI and found it very warm. The outside temperature was at 98 degrees. We called the office, and they said it had been cleaned and the a/c had been turned down. On Saturday morning, August 4, room temperature was at 81 degrees. The pool opens at 9am; water was very cloudy. At 11am, the pool guy showed up and poured chemicals into the pool while I and my family were swimming. Our eyes were burning and turned bright red. At 1pm, a young man with a room key showed up and opened the pool gate for 22 people, and they mobbed the pool area. They were all let in by a single room key – babies, kids in diapers and 15 adults. Pool guy was just watching while the young man kept letting people in. There were four babies in diapers swimming in the pool. I noticed two had dirty diapers.
On Sunday morning, at 9 am, room temperature was at a balmy 79 degrees with the a/c set to high and maxed. I called the office and was told the pool was ready (The sign on the door leading to the pool said “closed”.) At 11:20am, the pool guy showed up and flooded the pool with chemicals again and told my fiancée she can go right in; I wouldn’t allow it. There were 22 + 8 people the day before, and the pool guy closed the pool Saturday night at 3pm and reopened it at 11:20am the next day, and then added chemicals into it. This was extremely unsafe especially when (I know for a fact) there was human feces in the pool. We didn’t swim on Sunday.

On 7/27, I received a call from Motel 6, which I returned 3 times but no one picked up. Upon my arrival back at the motel approximately 6pm, I was locked out of my room and I needed my asthma medication desperately! When I went to the front desk, I was told I had left 3 Chihuahuas (in clean crates with beds and water bottles) but they were unattended and I was to leave within 30 minutes or the police would be called. The gentleman stated there was no such thing as unforeseen circumstances, unattended pets were kicked out. I stated I would have to drive 11 hours to return home (SD) and both desk clerks stated they didn't care.
I am a 60+ woman who was singled out because the people at the desk knew they could easily intimidate me. There were 50 rooms rented to dog show people but I was singled out and discriminated against. I will post this on Facebook and the AARP feedback site. I was a USDA compliance officer for 30 years and I will turn my complaint into the WI State HRI (hotels, restaurants and institutions) division. Two AKC judges were also staying there, one witnessed how clean I left my room. Yesterday, I put in a telephone complaint to number 968-760 and wanted to follow up with a letter to detail out exactly what went on at your Salina, Kansas motel on Diamond Drive. On 15 June in the mid-morning, I stopped at that Motel 6 location and checked, making a reservation for 2 adults for one night and yes, I got the senior discount as I am 64 years old. My business partner would not arrive until late that night but when I went to the room assigned me, the air conditioning did not put out cold air so I called the desk. They then put me into room 235 and told me that the maintenance man was out for the day. Once again, the AC did not work so they moved me to room 233 and in that room the AC would not even come on. Keep in mind that it was about 100 degrees there and AC was very important. Then, they had me move to room 227 and, once again, the AC did not put out cold air. Before I continue, I will add that I have stayed at this Motel 6 many, many times over the years as I have property nearby and never had any problems. One lady who has worked there several years whose name is, I believe, ** has seen me several times and never had any trouble with me even when a room did not have AC.
Finally, after having to move for the fourth time to room 225, it had a working AC so I was happy and all was fine. I did try to use your WiFi and could not make it work so I asked for a refund that was given without trouble. I will add here that the lady who was on duty later gave me a voucher for a free night to be used another time and I thanked her for that. Now, the next morning, Lawton and I went to have a meeting at my property and came back around noon and I asked for a late checkout which had been okayed. I was going to leave that afternoon as I had to go pick up an aircraft in Chicago while Lawton decided he would stay an extra night and went down and paid $51.69 to just keep the same room for a second night. Then, the telephone rang and I was informed that we must both leave by 4 pm. This, after Lawton had paid for the second night! I then found the assistant mgr., ** and explained to him that I was leaving but that Lawton had already paid for a second day. He said Lawton must leave as well and refused to refund the money he had already paid for staying the night.
We wound up in a heated argument in the office and he was just plain intent upon stealing the $51.69 that Lawton had paid. Now he claimed that I had only paid for one person, yet the lady who rented me the room knew it was double as I asked for two beds. One of the maids was also there and she also knew I rented for double occupancy. Mr. ** said I caused a disturbance yet the only disturbance was when he refused to be honorable regarding Lawton's $51.69 as the alleged problem was with me, not Lawton. Besides I had not caused a disturbance earlier, I just kept moving from room to room as directed. The earlier mess was only because the rooms did not have working air conditioning, noting else and that caused me to have to move 4 times after first checking in.
Now yesterday I called the manager whose name is ** and he refused to return my calls, so this is the last resort. I firmly believe that your Motel system is good but having an arrogant man with a criminal minded individual such as ** working for you will cause you to lose many customers, not just me. ** was not there so he is less culpable but his refusal to return a call when Motel 6 should clearly be refunding Lawton ** $51.69 is suspect as well.
Please be honorable and refund Lawton's money and unless I get removed from this silly No Rent list, I will buy an ad in a large Salina newspaper that will tell about this incident naming ** even though it will cost me far more than Lawton's $51.69. I have copied my lawyer with this letter and a hard copy will be sent tomorrow certified mail to your headquarters in Ohio.

During my business visit to San Diego last month, I had a problem with the Motel 6 in 1419 Second Avenue, San Diego (Hotel Circle area). At 3:00 AM on 19/6/2012, when I and my wife were sleeping in room 115, a stream of water dropped unto my bed and luggage. I was shocked and all my luggage were damaged. The hotel changed my room to another one and said to wait until the morning to discuss this incident with the general manager for action. One of my luggage disappeared from second floor.
I tried to meet the motel’s GM with no luck. She refused to answer my call or to meet me and she was so aggressive with my wife when she tried to talk with her. The only one compensation that was offered was to return my reservation amount for the four days (16-6 to 20-6; it’s for $331) and one free night at Motel 6 hotels. When I returned back to my country, I found that all my gifts are not working due to water damage. These are watches, digital camera and perfume packages and so on. The hotel manager refused to send all damaged items to the corporate department. The motel’s security and the front office person during this night were aware about all details. It was on 19/6/2012.
Please advise. My wife had bad dreams and can’t sleep well since this bad night. The motel’s action is not acceptable. By the way, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and the telephony system were not working during our reservation period. The motel GM’s name is **. I’m waiting for your feedback.

On April 25, 2012 we booked 2 rooms at the Pompano Beach, FL site. Both rooms were dirty and smelled of smoke - were to have been smoke-free. There was dried blood on the nightstand, mud in the bathroom along with cigarette butts and beer caps. We were reimbursed for 1 room and given a voucher for a free night at any hotel - we were told it would be accepted anywhere, not just Motel 6. It took returning to the office 3 times to attempt to correct the billing. This voucher was not accepted anywhere. The staff had no idea what they were doing. I received an email from corporate, but no answer to reimbursement for the second room or for the voucher.

On our way down, I was called by the motel stating that they only had a one bed room left. After a lengthy conversation with the manager, I was told that they gave our room to a party who had booked 10 rooms but they would give us two singles on opposite sides of the facility. Totally unprofessional on their part. The party that had booked the 10 rooms should have had to split like we did. The manager told me if we didn't like it, we could go somewhere else. What would be the chance at 7 pm on the 23rd we could find another room elsewhere? Tacky, tacky, tacky.

The room smelled strongly like pot especially when we opened the armoire for the TV, so strong, in fact, we searched the area. The toilet had not been cleaned. The bathroom obviously housed animals as there were claw marks on the molding. The bedspread had a burn through to the sheets - a non-smoking room at that. The heater smelled like hot wiring when turned on. The last room was a crime scene with blood still on the wall behind the door. The bill was supposed to be an online special advertised at $57 a night, so expectations are not sensational but at the counter I was raped for $97 in fees and charges. Never again. I am done. If the clerk can't speak English and I can't see the room first, I will sleep in my car!

We were traveling to San Antonio, TX from Lafayette, LA for vacation and decided to call it a night in Seguin, TX. We normally stay with Marriott but it was Saturday and I didn't want to pay $190.00 for a seven-hour stay. Well, this location did not have soap in the room with only four channels on TV and with only two towels for four people. To top it off, we have to take the cover off of the toilet to flush it because the handle was broken. The smoke alarm was going off since the battery was low. When we check out in the morning, I told the lady at the front desk (she was the same lady from the night before) expecting her to offer me something to correct the issue. All she said was okay. I told her I paid $91.00 for this stay and expected a better stay than this. Like my husband tells me all the time, you get what you pay for. So grateful we were able to check in early at the Marriott the next day to catch up on rest that we lost at Motel 6.

I checked in at the Motel 6 in Statesville N.C. I was very tired, and I rolled and broke the remote control. I called the office, and I told them I must have rolled over on the remote, and I paid for it, and it was already being held together by tape. I paid him $5 for another remote that is held together with tapes, and it has what appears to be chew marks on it, and he was very rude and said he was going to inspect my room tomorrow. I said, "Come check it now." I usually stay at high priced hotels like the Marriott, Hilton, Hampton, and Choice Hotels.
This guy is an Arab, and I am only 3 hours from my home, but traffic was very bad, and I am a diabetic, and I was tired and I need insulin, food and rest, and I have to have my mom to the doctor's at 10:00 a.m. today. It is 2:20 a.m. now, and I will be leaving soon. This guy acted like he was making a threat until I was not intimidated. We took showers, ate a sandwich, took our medication. I have my 81-year old mom here, and I am 48. We do not drink or smoke, and we have two 12 to 14-lb Shi Tzus that are never left in a room alone. They are like our kids.
This place is dirty, overpriced, and the Muslim guy is a rude ** and a coward. He replaced a broken remote with another broken remote plus $5. If he tries billing my credit card, I will be paying him a visit. I wanted him to look at the room with me, but he would not do that. The room is clean. We just needed rest and I needed to take my insulin and eat. I paid as much for this dump as I could have paid for a Best Western across the street. I know that crook is going to claim damages. I could have just taken the remote and not called. I called him as soon as I saw it was broken. I paid for it, and I got another broken remote.
Most Motel 6 are nice places to stay for a cheap nice rest, not the Motel 6 on Moreland Drive, Statesville N.C. Avoid this dumb and jerk who runs it. It must have been a gift from the late Osama Bin Laden. I have seen just the one guy since I have been here.

We reserved a room in Galveston, TX for 5/11/12, six to eight weeks ago for our daughter's graduation. I called and reserved a 2nd night (5/12/12) on 5/9/12. When we checked in, we paid $181.68 for both nights with our debit card. There were 2 towels for 3 people. We asked for another towel and washed cloths and they were provided with no problem. The room was tiny and the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Definitely not worth $181.68. When we arrived home, I checked our bank account online and found a second charge (fraudulent) of $102.34.
I called the motel immediately and spoke to the front desk clerk who checked us in on 5/11/12 (MH). She told us that it looks like we were a no-show on 5/13/12. We didn't book a room for that day and she would have the manager call us as soon as she came back up front. In the meantime, I contacted our bank regarding the fraud and they will reimburse us. I will be filing a police report and contacting the corporate office of Motel 6 if I do not get a phone call from the manager and a satisfactory outcome to this matter. We will never stay at a Motel 6 again!

For over thirty years, I've stayed at various Motel 6 facilities when I traveled because I'd rather spend my travel money on fun things other than lodging. I've always found Motel 6 to be fine - you get what you pay for, and all I wanted was a clean, bare basic room. When I made plans to be in Fort Worth, Texas last week, I made online reservations at the Motel 6. I arrived around noon on Thursday, May 3. I called when I got in town because I wasn't sure how to find it; however, the girl who answered the phone was unable to give me directions. Seems like the person at the front desk should be able to do that.
getting it from Walmart. I went to run some errands. I returned at 3 o'clock and went to the room. No soap. I went to the office and said I'd like a refund because I had to go someplace that had soap. Chris, who identified himself as the manager, said he would refund the second day but not the first. I argued with him since I had not been in the room and they were not providing the basics.
While we were "discussing" the matter, someone from an office around the corner where I couldn't see handed me two bars of Motel 6 soap. Chris told that person not to bother, that I wasn't staying. I said I was staying, took the soap and went to the room. First, why didn't they just provide the soap in the first place rather than go through all this? Chris was so threatening that I was afraid, and I called Motel 6 guest relations main office. They could only take my report, and I understood they couldn't do anything else. I barricaded myself in the room, pulled a chair and a table in front of the door. The following day, I was gone from early a.m. to later in the afternoon. When I returned to the room, nothing had been done in so far as cleaning - trash wasn't emptied, used towels were not removed and replaced with "clean" ones, bed wasn't made. I didn't say anything but went to another room where the cleaning cart was parked and took towels from that room. The room was basically dirty all over.
I'll never stay in another Motel 6 - it's worth it to me to pay more and not have this hassle. I can't think of anything that would change my opinion of Motel 6. Would be nice if they would give me some sort of refund, but I don't expect it. They've burned their bridges with me.

Apparently from observation, this is a camera system. The camera system for security purposes is great, but definitely could be installed much more neatly. Upon arriving to occupy the rooms, we found that the east exit door does not lock. The device to slide your card through to open the door is hanging by the cords off the wall. The door itself has had the outside lock section cut away so that it does not lock.
Inside, the entry way was not swept, the halls needed to be vacuumed. Inside room 106 that we rented, there was obvious dust around the base boards and the carpet was sticky in front of the refrigerator. It was an exceptionally windy day. The curtains were moving and the window was spider cracked/broken and not locked. The other room, 109, was not clean either but passable. There have been other changes, but they do not have anything to do with cleanliness or security. This was disturbing as this Motel 6 used to be an excellent place to stay and we recommended it to others several times. My complaint is I discovered two extremely big dead roaches in my room; a friend picked up one and a day later, the housekeeper kicked the other dead bug out the door with her foot.
The other problem - the room wasn't clean-looking. I checked in on the 17 of April and I didn't see a housekeeper until I caught one outside my door and requested room service, which was the 20th of April. Otherwise if I didn't see one at that time, then I would have been there those four days without room service. And the only reason I got clean towels before I left was, I put the used towels by my door.

Recently, my family of 4 chose to stay in a Jackson area Motel 6 because of the lower price compared to other motels. We had been at the motel a little longer than we had first anticipated while waiting for our apartment to get ready to move in to. The day we checked in, the guy manager/owner told us that we should put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and bolt the door if we did not want maid service. There was no sign in the room so we made one and stuck it on the door. I did all of the cleaning in the room myself with the exception of vacuuming. I washed the motel's sheets and towels when I washed my family's clothes. When they washed towels, the so-called clean ones they would have long, coarse black hair stuck to them, and sometimes pubic hair and burn holes. That's disgusting and unacceptable.
A few days later, it was crumpled up on the hallway floor. We made another one and put it up. Since the first day, it was sufficient to management/ housekeeping for us to call or go to the front desk and let them know when we needed service to the room. After about three weeks, I came back to the room one morning and there was a maid in my room. I had requested no service that morning and here they were anyway. The door was wide open which would be okay except the housekeepers tend to hop from room to room rather than cleaning one at a time. I would not want someone to come into my room and take something like my laptop, digital camera, etc. which is why I only requested service while I was in the room. So, I asked the maid what was going on. She then informed me that she did not speak English, so I figured I would wait and go to the front desk and see what the deal was. The housekeeper left and about 20 minutes later, the housekeeping manager/co-owner lady from the front desk called my room. She said that I needed to take the sign down and call every morning to tell them if I wanted service or not. I wanted to argue, but I didn't. I talked to another person from the front desk who said she could take me off the main sheet.
So the next morning, I came back to the room and sure enough, the maid had been there. I started calling every morning again to tell them no service and they kept coming while I was gone. My husband had a shirt come up missing and while we do not think the maid took it, we do think it may have been picked up with towels or something by mistake which is exactly one of the reasons I do my own laundry. If it weren't for this room cleaning business, I would not complain. The room rates went up from $50.13/day to $53.40/day (during the week) and to $56.67 on the weekend. You'd think for that amount of money, they'd just have left us alone. It was less work for them and we didn't cause trouble. I just don't get it. One other thing that annoyed us was the key cards. They didn't work over half the time, so you'd have to go all the way back to the front desk to get them to reset it. We were on the 3rd floor.

Any positive review of this place, Motel 6 in Richfield Minnesota, is surely written by the staff there. This place and its staff are a nightmare. This place has some of the rudest, shadiest characters working behind the desk that I have ever seen in my life (except for the Asian girl, they are all straight out of the crack house). After the last stay there, my wife and I decided that Motel 6 has lost our $500-$1,000 of fun money per year. We used to stay at Motel 6 to remember the 'good old days'. Those days are over at Motel 6 Richfield, Minneapolis.
**, the pimple faced manager, locked me out of our prepaid room (on the third day), and then her lisping, bowl-cut assistant, ** offered to solve the problem, by threatening to call the police after I asked for the corporate phone number! There's some creative customer service. Are you listening Jim Amorosia, CEO, Motel 6/Studio 6? Lance Miceli, Olivier Poirota, Laura Laura Rojo-Eddy? My wife, a fortune 100 executive, will be contacting you shortly.
Apparently, the motel registered both me and my wife under her last name (these people at Motel 6 Richfield aren't used to dealing with diversity, unless it’s a crack dealer), and when they refused to recharge my room key ( funny, It worked fine the night before when the room was pre-paid), I was locked out for 6 hours. So, my pregnant wife (8-months along) had to leave the hospital in the outlying area, and drive 80 miles back to Minneapolis, after the manager and her bizarrely angry assistant refused to let me in our room. Then, as I was on my way out the door, the fire department, the ambulance, and six local cops came running to the door, which reminded me that the security guard had told me the night before that the place is a magnet for suicide attempts.
Lest I forgot, the bald headed guy in sunglasses who was wandering around the whole time, ranting about his troubles with anger management, after his many years in the 'intelligence community' and the voices in his head. Never again will we stay at this, or any other Motel 6. And **, your rudeness, incredibly unprofessional demeanor, and catty attitude are only matched by my memory of you smoking out front of the motel while chatting up that guy in the old Cadillac the day after we checked in. The Motel 6 in Mount Laurel is truly the worst motel I have ever stayed in. I made a reservation to stay a few days to attend a funeral with my mother. Our first room, 157, had a broken heater, so we moved our stuff to room 212, only to find the sink clogged. They gave me the key for 214, to let me go and check that room, which connected to room 212. Room 214 had a clogged bathtub. When I asked for a luggage stand for my mom, they told me they did not have one. I mentioned that our first room 157 had one. Instead of providing it, they gave me the key to the room, and I picked up the stand myself with my car.
I suggested they let us keep 212 and 214, and use them since one had the clogged sink, and the other a clogged tub, as a gesture of good faith, so we did not have to move to a 4th room. They said no, so I told them I was coming down to check out. I asked for the owner’s phone number, and they said they did not have it. The manager was very rude, and once he issued the credit, he told me to leave the property within 5 minutes. At this point, I have really had too much, and let out an obscenity. The manager called the police, and so did I. I waited patiently for the police, after all, what else could I do? Run away? So the police came and interviewed the manager and myself.
They came back to me and asked if I planned to leave, and I told them I did, but had not selected another motel. They suggested the Quality Inn nearby. I left, and was very happy with the Quality Inn. It was not only cleaner, the rooms are well maintained and has free internet, a real breakfast, a microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, a workout room, a business center to print out things, like boarding passes, and a large pool, but also actual customer service. They also have shampoo, hot water, and much larger rooms, for $8 more than Motel 6’s room rates.
I will be contacting the BBB, Mt. Laurel’s Chamber of Commerce, the Dept. of Health and Safety, a fire inspection, and all internet rating sites I can find to repost this review. The confirmation number is **. The management is terrible. The rooms are terrible. The amenities and customer service are non-existent. Given the neglected status of the 3 rooms we were in, I would not be surprised if there were bed bugs!
I hope you like this review; because I plan to post it on every consumer protection services I can find, to save others from this pigpen, hell-hole that is supposed to be a motel. I’ll give it the lowest rating you can think of. Stay away from the Mount Laurel Motel 6. Stay away as far as you can. These are the actual events that occurred. It really does read like fiction, but I swear it is absolutely true. Do not go to this hotel! Go to the Quality Inn right down the road.
I have stayed in other Motel 6s around the USA, and have never had so many problems and headaches with any other Motel 6. We not only had the stress of burying a loved one, but also had to cope with your motel’s incompetent staff, terrible customer service, and rooms that were not fit for habitation. I gave this Motel 6 every chance to provide a decent room, and as I mentioned, I had to go pick up the luggage stand by myself in my car.
The entire experience was outrageous. Motel 6 Corporate, feel free to contact me about this review. You may want to think about how incompetent this whole hotel is, and how it may affect your entire chain. When I went to the office to get some extra soap and towels, I also asked for some shampoo and conditioner. The manager was there and said, they don't have that, and continued to say, “we are a Motel 6, what do you expect?"
The only person there who seemed to have a brain was the desk clerk, **, who tried her best to help, but was impeded by the worst management and customer service team assembled on earth! We are really happy with the Quality Inn. Their address and phone is 531 Route 38, Maple Shade, NJ 08052; 856 235 6400. Motel 6 should change their jingle from “we'll leave the light on for you" to "we'll call the cops on you". I now fear the entire chain of Motel 6, and don't think I will ever stay at one again. Before, I was a steady customer, staying at Motel 6s in several states, like Las Vegas, Arlington, TX, etc. Avoid this motel like the plague. I really would not be surprised if you picked up the real plague while staying at this terrible, terrible, motel.

At the time, in the front counter I paid one week up front cash at $700+, close to $800, and told the parking fee must be paid daily and yet I asked, "could we pay upfront the parking fee now?" The clerk said "no"...I mean what? "Said no" as if in business out of city, and not returning to motel, and our car is parked at motel i paid for one week stay upfront?, they said "must return and pay daily"....now to hold a car hostage and myself to once to return daily, is that Tom B's idea of hospitality?, and "by 11am" daily must pay? (questioned three times as please can i pay for the week? ) "no".
Assigning lic. rights for independent operator's should still hold to the Mr. Bodett's beliefs and commitment to excellence. My adventure in Hollywood California passes common understanding and gives the idea that independent operators owner operators have no structural guide lines to the commitment and do as they wish regardless of how we perceive advertisement to quality of motel six and what we expect in return of services advertised. has it set the standard to high and the Hollywood site visited does in fact repeat such high standards motel six sets and if minimal or to ex-steam it meets or succeeds such standards? is it a good service and good to do business with? Not to my standards that previous motels have set as precedence.
After seeing the room, It did not have any slide out dresser drawers, no common iron board sometimes found, no fridge, no microwave, carpets ripped/stained as in room 222 and hallway area, and after not getting online after several attempts with password provided, I decided to go downstairs where the Internet room was, as it was clear to get my money back and get the heck out of there quick. Well, never paid parking fee at Motel Six from Florida to California, as can lack an iron board but for travelers a delight. It made me feel like I was getting ripped off money-wise as this place is possibly charging much more and offering much less. Now, somebody should know about my bad distaste forever staying in a Motel Six in L.A., CA. area, as to rebook a room at new place called Comfort Inn at $95 a night and had dressers for my clothes and no ripped carpet, no visible hallway stains, room has refrigerator and microwave with coffee pot and served breakfast with eggs and fixings all for extra $20 per week day and extra $10 on weekends. A normal $100 room expected such service and gleam, no parking fee and also had an underground parking lot.
Please examine if this Motel Six is privately owned, who is using the Motel Six status as a symbol of excellence. Personally, my review stay in room 222 at this location does not exemplify Motel Six's representation. This motel six may really give more negative thoughts toward Motel Six in retrospect. Tarnished me from every consideration of trust to staying in Motel Six again unless doing a walk around to review the condition, as now due to one bad ordeal.
It is possible that this is not the only one who takes an extreme measure to such actions, as really was that bad of an ordeal, and not to trust a whole motel chain over one bad one. To take time to comment on such is not my desire, to spend time other than make changes if possible and ask for contact with anyone to listen with this concern. It has to be that bad for me to get up and give such notice to warn strangers of such properties that we normally take for granted as Motel Six and past representations were considered so good till now and to no concern as private or not owned it seemed the CEO and management groups of Motel Six decided whom classed as good representation to join the advertisement pool of income by granting Lic. right to use their logo. Right?

I stayed at Motel 6 in Wenatchee, Washington. The Motel 6 was a remodel. The floor was laminated to look like a wooden floor. Well, part of it was damaged and the edges were sticking up. It was awful. Then the door was so old it had all these marks on it and I had to slam it to get it to shut and lock. Then under the door was a huge gap and it would let the heat out and let the cold air in. Then I was blow drying my hair and all of a sudden the lights go out and I am like is this for real! I had thrown a breaker and so I called the manager to tell him and he is saying, "You should not run everything at once like the microwave etc." I said, "I am not running the microwave and this is a hotel. It should withstand a blow dryer, for Pete's sake!" The light by the mirror in the new decor did not even work. I could not believe all the stuff I had to deal with.

When we checked in, we were given a non-smoking room. When we went in the room, the bed sheets were dirty, carpets hadn't been vacuumed and there were cigarette butts and ashes all over the floor. We spoke to the manager who moved us to another room. While in this room, our bed sheets have not been changed, floors vacuumed, sink or shower cleaned, and the worst part is the cockroaches! We have complained 3 times about the roaches. We were told this morning that they would spray the room while we were out.
Obviously they did not. We have been overrun with roaches all evening. We will have to have all our belonging treated before we can take them into out home! We also have called the front desk to see if there is any spray they would allow us to use to at least attempt to keep the roaches out of our things. We were told that it was "locked up" and the manager has the key.
This is absolutely unacceptable that a national motel chain cannot conduct business any better than this. And this will most definitely be our last stay at any motel 6 anywhere.

The bed covers looked like they hadn't been washed, TV remote was so old it almost fell apart in my hand. There was nothing but a bed, a table and a straight back chair in it. We reserved a non-smoking and they gave us a stinky smoking room. The smoke detector was brown from so much smoke and it didn't even work! Forget taking a shower. The only towel was a floor mat! They did change our room from a king smoking to a double non-smoking, not that it was any cleaner. I can not believe that in this day and time, we still have hotels this nasty!

He's a very rude and disrespectful manager (Nick **) at Motel 6 in San Luis Obispo South #1373. They are very rude employees. Think twice before staying there!
I had a very rude awakening by the maid room cleaners, knocking continuously on my door at 9:00 am saying "service, service, service". I woke up and said to her, "No, I am sleeping" and she went away. I could hear her cleaning next door. She came back to my room and started knocking on the door again and I awoke again and she said again, "service, service, service" and I said, "No, I am sleeping". She went away. I could hear her cart rolling down the balcony and it was very loud. I called front desk and they said sorry, it would be taken care of. Okay! Now this lady comes back again and starts knocking at 9:40am and she says "service, service". I told her no and to stop bothering me. She went away. Now I get a very loud ringing phone call from a Mexican-sounding man saying, "service, service, service" and each time I told him no, I asked him why they keep bothering me and told them to stop it. And all he could say was, "I no English" and he hung up the phone on me.
So I got dressed and went to where I know the motel manager (Nick ***) stays in the connecting motel room, and knocked on his door and I guess I had awakened him and his family and he answered the door very angrily and mad. I began to try to tell him I was having problems with his employees and all he kept saying very loudly and rudely was to get away from his personal room and not to bother him and so he slammed the door right in my face. So I knocked again and he started yelling and telling me to get off his property, to get away from him, to get away from his door and leave his property at once. I tried to settle him down by just talking to him softly and he got madder and pushed me out of his doorway with his big fat large belly, this was a big guy! He pushed me out of his way and went to call the police. I don't know what he had said to the police but they were there in about 4 minutes.
I went down to talk to the police and they found some humor in my situation with this manager (Nick ***). And again when we (the police and I) went to try to talk to Nick **, all he could say was to get off his property. I had paid for the following night and I wanted my money back and we would be leaving asap and all Nick *** could say was to leave now and he would send me a check. This motel at San Luis Obispo South #1373 is very dirty and has non-English speaking employees and all who work there are rude in one way or another.

I stayed at Sante Fe Motel 6 approximately August 20 to September 9, located at 3695 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM . Around 3am, a suspicious man in a truck was circling the hotel parking lot for an hour or so. The third night, the man stopped and attempted to talk to me from his truck. The truck followed me as I walked to the front desk. The truck parked on the hotel property just outside the front desk window and waited for me. I was frightened for my safety and informed the night desk man what was happening. The night desk man dismissed my concerns about the stalking truck and I was told there was nothing that could be done. I was stuck in the hotel office approximately 10-15 minutes waiting for the truck to leave.
After the truck left, I ran back to my room and called the police. The next morning, I called Motel 6 headquarters to report the incident. A few days later, when I checked out, the hotel manager, Cindy, told me, "Will you be returning to Santa Fe?" I replied yes but I will be staying elsewhere. "Good. Because corporate has banned you after that little complaint call you made the other morning." I was a bit confused so I called Motel 6 headquarters to find out what had happened. I have since been informed the manager, Cindy, banned me by falsely claiming I caused a disturbance. If you are ever in Texas, do not stay at the Motel 6 #4051 8601 (Hwy. 377 S.) Benbrook, TX 76126 unless you enjoy sleeping on sheets from the previous occupant. I am here for 3 weeks on a training assignment. Yesterday I noticed the maids cleaning the room of just an overnight guest and only changed the pillow cases. Upon returning to my room after it was supposed to have been cleaned, there were still pubic hairs and grit in the bathtub from my roommate. They never left me cups or a plastic bag for the ice bucket. Today before leaving for church, I purposely placed red dish detergent on my sheets and pillowcases to see if when I returned that the sheets had be changed. Needless to say, they had not. And the best the staff could offer me was to give me sheets to change my own bed at the rate of $74.05 per night, at a Motel 6 mind you.
This was not my choice for accommodations. It was provided with the training fee. In essence, this room with an unwanted roommate is actually costing me $400 a week, $800 a week between the 2 of us. Yesterday while I was in a very awkward position in the bathroom, I discovered that I only had about 6 sheets of toilet paper on the roll and no more toilet paper in the entire room. I had to try to find a way to clean myself and then go downstairs to get toilet paper. There are only 3 plugs in the entire room. You get the luxury of only being able to run the refrigerator or the microwave, but not both at the same time. And there is a 10' extension cord running across the desk where the refrigerator or the microwave can be plugged in.
The management and staff are actually very friendly. But once you walk past the customer service desk, all else is quite unacceptable especially when you have to pay for it. They charge for everything that most hotels give their guest complimentary, like shower caps, oh and the coffee is free, no complimentary breakfast, nothing for $75 a night. Save your money. There are far better places to stay for that type of money. The staff wouldn't even come up to look when I called them, or bring the fresh sheets to see for themselves the nature of my complaint.

The night manager told me after I paid that my checkout time was at 11:00 a.m. the next day, which would have been the 26th.
At 1:00 p.m. on the 25th, the day manager is calling me and asking me if I was staying for another day. I informed her what the night manager had told me. She said that because I checked in before 5:00 a.m., it was considered another day and the checkout time was 11:00 a.m. Having said that, I was already over my checkout time. My question is, why didn't the night manager know this? And if she did, why didn't she tell me? I would have waited until 5:00 a.m. Instead, I'm out an extra day's fee for a room. I woke up at 2:30am with a strong swollen and itching sensation, which drove me to the bathroom where I discovered rashes all over my body. They were all over my body, from the bottom of my chin to my ankles. At first, I thought that it was food poisoning reaction. I came back to bed and upon my discomfort and complaints, my husband turned on the light. And to our disgusted surprise, the bed was inundated with bed bugs. I really panicked. I felt worse than dog among those blood stains, bedbugs running on top of the sheets and itching all over my body. I got bitten in places that I could not easily reach to scratch.
Immediately, I went downstairs and spoke to Craig at the front desk. I showed him the bedbug bites and redness under my chin and asked for another room, in which he gave room 236. While he was preparing the room key, upon my distress, I told Craig that there were visibly too many bedbugs on that bed. I could not believe that nobody ever placed a complaint. To my surprise, he confirmed that there had been complaints from the same room. Upon sunrise, I brought the manager to the room and showed the stains of blood on the bed, previous marks of blood on the bed cover, which made me believe that it was not an unknown situation. The manager apologized and refunded us a room payment.

Evidently, just washing only the sheets and half cleaning isn't good enough in a motel that allows pets to stay there. Bed mites, lice, and fleas will just transfer to the clean sheets and people in them when the parasites are all in the blanket, mattress and top comforter as well. Fleas also live in carpet fibers and chair pads. The second room was worse.
A person should not have to buy their own flea-kill and cleaning products in a motel whether staying for a day or week or even a month. It is not my job to do that either. My first visit to Motel 6 (Vallejo, CA) was on June 18-21, 2010. The two of us found "cockroaches" all over the room! The sheet, blankets and pillows smelled horrible! The blankets looked like they have never been washed! When I returned home, I washed everything that I took into that room! I also felt sick! They did send me a guest pass for two "free" nights.
This is where it gets very "serious." I decided to give Motel 6 another chance. So on October 15-17, we stayed in Newark, CA at Motel 6 with my son, William **. I was taking my son on his last trip before he had to go back to Japan. His flight was on October 17. I did ask to see the room before I would stay there. They gave me two keys to look at two rooms. The first room was so bad, I did not even go all the way in! The next room had hard wood floors and looked clean. We were both very tired so I took the room.
That night, 10/15/10, about 11:30 p.m., there were a few people outside making too much noise. I opened the door and firmly told them that we were trying to "sleep" the next day. I dropped my earring on the floor. As I was looking for it, I discovered in horror that there were piles of dust and debris under the bed.
I went down to the office and complained about the noise and the dust! They told me that they would "fix it" when I returned to my room on the 16th late at night. They had not touched a thing! So I took it upon myself to take one of their towels and wet mopped the whole room by myself! The towel was "black" when I was done. We had taken off early that next morning to do the last of our visiting.
When we returned to our room around 11:00 p.m. or so, outside our door was a lady holding a 10-inch knife walking back and forth from one room to another! She had passed "our" room about five times! There was a "so called" security guard telling her that she had to leave! Did she? No! So when I got into the room, I tried to call the front desk! And the phone would not work! My cell phone would not work in the room, so there we were, feeling like we were a "hostage." I did not get any sleep at all that night! We both felt like we were in harm's way!
The next day, I went to the office and I have never lost control of my temper before. But I sure did then! They acted like it was no big deal. And they are still acting like that! Both my son and I have suffered physical and mental damage from that night! I will not stay in any "motel" ever again! But as for my son, he has to travel all over the world for his job. He is still having a very difficult time going into a room!
The last letter I received from the supervisor of guest relation was to tell me sorry! That problems do arise from time to time! It was not a so-called "problem" when a "human" life is in harm's way! I live about five hours away! I also work long weeks. I could not take the time off to go back and forth to take Motel 6 to "court!" Or I would have!

I went straight to my room so that I could look in the mirror to see how bad my injury was. I was bleeding quite a bit from puncture wounds that were left behind from the bite. Blood began to soak my shirt and chest. At that time it occurred to me that I had better ask the owners of the dog if it had all its shots.I went to the front desk and spoke with the manager who is the girl friend and co-owner of the dog. I informed her that I had been bitten by their dog and she told me that she thought it was best if I left the property and if I didn't that she would call police and have me removed.
I told her to call an ambulance also. The police were called as was the ambulance and I was told by police that the owner who was on the property wanted me to leave. I was treated for my wounds at the Greeley hospital. I have tried many times to speak with the owner and he has hung up on me.

On October 25, I checked in to a motel 6 in Richfield, MN. I live in Wisconsin and only came to Minneapolis for veteran’s appointment at the V.A hospital. I had a friend drop me off. I invited her to watch the Monday night football game with me and then she went to her sister’s house, which was close by, to stay. The next morning when I went to shower, I reached for a towel as I was dripping wet. I started to dry myself off and noticed the towel was soiled or stained. I grabbed another towel and that towel was just as dirty. The filth that was on that towel could be scraped off. Still dripping wet, I went for a hand towel that was soiled as well.
My friend took pictures of the soiled towels and we had coffee as we waited for the manager to arrive to work. When the manager arrived he made accusations that my friend stayed in my room and the towels were used. Of course they were wet, I just got out of the shower and handled every dirty towel. The manager was very rude and made up his own scenario and accusations. The manager didn't understand why the towels were not checked the night that I checked in. The manager wanted to discount five dollars off my room for drying off in someone else’s filth. I feel disgustingly dirty after staying there.

This is Melissa, Mark’s wife. He called me today and told me about what happened last night at Motel 6 in Williams, AZ. He and his 73-year-old dad are on their way to Elk hunt in Colorado. I will tell you all I can remember and you tell us whether or not you could handle this or know someone else who could, and get Mark justice! Here is the story as far as I can remember him telling me today: "We went to bed after watching baseball games and had the lights turned out. About 5 minutes later, we heard someone trying to jiggle the door knob and open the door. I got up and looked out the peep hole and saw no one. I laid back down and it happened again about 5 minutes later, someone trying to get into our room. I again got up and went to look out the peep hole and saw no one.
I again laid back down and then it happened again about 5 minutes later, really jiggling the door trying to get it open. I again got up and went to the door to find I could see no one. I laid back down. About 10 minutes later, someone started banging on the door very hard, not saying a word. I got up with my gun and went to open the door thinking it was a thug trying to break in and rob us or worse.
The guy standing there said, "You need to stop going up and down the hall jiggling doors and running the halls." I said, "What? You are kidding me right?” He then said he was the assistant manager of the hotel and he wanted me to stop doing this, and he had several complaints. I told him, “Yeah, whoever it was, was doing it to us as well and I am not the one dong it. My father and I are trying to sleep.” He still told me to stop doing it. I said, "Really, I am 52. My father is 73 and we are trying to sleep on our way to an elk hunt. So, stop saying I am doing it. I am not!"
He then left and I went back to bed. About 10 minutes later, the phone rang. I answered and they said it is Williams police, to come out of the room with my hands behind my head and walk backwards down the hall. What? I said, “You are kidding me right?” No, so I in my shorts did what they asked and then they handcuffed me. I explained we were also the ones someone was messing with and I did not do it. The LT and I know some of the same people in Vegas. And after I told him the story and my dad told him the story, he said he was sorry and let me go.
The LT asked the kid what he wanted to do and he said, “I want him out of my hotel." The LT said he had to do what he asked and so we had to leave in the middle of the night and drive 30 minutes to Flagstaff and find a room. I told the kid with the hotel I did not appreciate this and I wanted our cash back we paid for the hotel when I came back down the hall. He argued at first, stating I would have to call the manager tomorrow. I said, "No, I do not have to call Gloria, the manager. When we come back down the hall, I want the cash on the counter.”
So, we had to pack up all our crap and picked up our cash at the counter as we were leaving. I was so angry! I have a concealed weapon permit and told the LT I thought it was a thug. The kid did not identify himself or call, just started pounding loudly on our door. The thing I really did not like was having to walk down the hall with the cop’s guns drawn on me. What if I had tripped and fell? They would have shot me. I am mad!”
Mark was harassed, inconvenienced, humiliated, threatened, and treated like a thug. The kid at the motel named Vinnie lied about him and made untrue statements, slander, defamation of character, and anything else you can think of. I also want to sue on his father’s behalf for him having to go through this and get up in the middle of the night, and for all he had to experience with this ridiculous, uncalled for, and complete harsh scene. I want the kid fired. I want a personal apology from him, from Gloria the manager, the owners of the Motel 6, from Corp. Motel 6, and I want to sue for a large chunk of money. I want this to be exposed to anyone who I can get a hold of to tell this story to. I want justice! And I won't be quiet about it!

We stayed at Motel 6 in Danvers, MA from October 8 to 10.Upon arrival we were told that our reservation was canceled because we were 17 minutes late. We had no place to go as everything was booked up for the holiday weekend. They managed to find us a room. While lying in the bed a bug crawled up my arm. We tore off the blankets and found the bed was covered in bugs! The mattress had blackened areas all over it from dead bugs! We found out these were bedbugs.
We complained to the front desk and they put us in another room. One bed for three adults. We were told in the morning that we had to leave the room and go back to the bug infested room or we could leave. They insisted the room was cleaned. I asked the manager to come and inspect the mattresses and she insisted we sleep on and she refused. They were rude and nasty. The corporate office, which I had called, was no better. Take the room or get out.
Our vacation was ruined and now I also worry that I may have brought bedbugs home with me. I'm having trouble sleeping because I think bugs are crawling on me! We have pictures of the mattresses. What a nightmare! Result: inability to sleep.

I just want to say that I have stayed in Motel 6 a couple of times. I have always had a pleasant experience there. My guests and I stayed in a two bedrooms, there were four of us. Upon checking in I requested extra towels and extra pillows. The gentleman seemed very confused by my request. After five or ten minutes, he came back with two extra towels and told me that there are four pillows and four people so we don't need any extra pillows. I was taken back by this statement and decided to let it go and go up to our room. When we entered, the room smelled terrible. After being in the room for about 5 minutes, the phone rang. One of the guests answered it and it was the front desk asking us if we needed anything (such as pillows or towels), which they denied us pillows when we checked in. I always check out the bed.
I discovered a lot of long black hairs and I am sorry to say there was clearly a pubic hair on the blanket. One of my guests had found a white stain on their sheets after we had removed it from the bed. I went down stairs to get a new blanket. Again, at the office they seemed very confused by my request for a new blanket. After returning to the room to make my bed, I unfolded one of the new blankets and found that it looked like it had been stabbed multiple times. Needless to say we didn't use the new blanket. Luckily, my mom lives about 45 minutes away so we went to her house and got fresh linens and pillows. When we got back, we asked for “do not disturb” sign, they told us that they don't have “do not disturb” signs so we asked them not to come to our room because we didn't want them to make our bed because we had our own blankets and we didn't want them to put their nasty blankets on our clean ones. They said that they would make a note in the computer for us.
Regardless of this, the maid came to our room multiple times almost every day. The maid even returned a couple of times after we told them we don't want maid service for the day. What kind of motel doesn't have “do not disturb” signs? We stayed there for four nights. I personally got eaten up by some kind of bugs, I had 8 bites and another one of us got at least 4 bites. We decided to check out the mattresses the day we’re about to leave. On my bed, there was a huge burn mark about 6 to 8 inches across and a very scary stain. I don't know what it was, but it was huge and disgusting. It took up about 1/4 of the mattress. Also our bathroom light only worked half of the time.
The day we were leaving, I sent one of the other guests up to make sure we didn't leave anything, and the maid was already up there making the beds with the same sheets! (Not to mention we left the sheets on the floor.) We have pictures to back up almost all of these facts. I would really suggest that someone go and inspect them because they are giving Motel 6 a bad name. If this was the first time I stayed at a Motel 6, I would never go back.

I paid for a hotel because I was having some family issues on August 24 and handed in my key, August 25. The very next day, August 26, I see a charge of 125.00! I called the motel and talked to a guy at the front desk. I asked him what was it for. He said probably for a blanket; I asked why would they charge me for a blanket and the hotel room. He said the blanket that was stolen, accusing me of stealing the comforter, which I did not take. When I left, it was there so when they noticed it was missing, instead of calling me (because they had my number or emailing me because they had my email) first, I could have come right back and so they could see that I didn't have it. Or, they could have asked the people that were leaving at the same time as I did and maybe have come up with the culprits, or even have a type of surveillance. They charged me for a blanket I didn't even steal! I have never had to deal with this situation and I shouldn't have to pay for it. Because of this, I am 120 dollars in the negative which I need. On Sept. 17th, 2010, we checked into the motel for a marathon weekend. We requested a late checkout to give enough time to run the marathon. We were given a 2:00 pm checkout. After running in the marathon, I returned to room at 11:40 to take a shower, and the cleaning lady entered the room while I was getting out of shower, saying she had to clean room and that I had to leave. In our hurry to leave, I left my running clothes in the bathroom. Upon realizing this, I called the motel to explain what happened, and they told me that they would send them out to me C.O.D. I said that would work better than me turning around to come back for them. The lady I talked to said her name was Katrina.
A couple days later, I received a survey in the email about my stay, and I put down how bad the service and stay we had. I got a follow-up email from "Back Office General Manager Motel 6". He left no name. I emailed back (reply) that I still had not received my clothes, and when I called, they knew nothing about it. The running clothes were just bought for that race at over $100 and I would have gone back to get them had they not told me that they would send them to me C.O.D. Not only that, but the race bib (I collect them) is irreplaceable. I have never been so embarrassed as when the cleaning lady came into the room while I was standing there naked, to have her say I should have left by then and then to be told another lie (that they would send out the clothes to me) by them. The lies started when we booked the room. They said yes they had a pool. After I checked in, they said it had not been opened at all this year. Then they said I had a 2:00pm checkout, but didn't honor that either.

When we arrived, 6 adults, we were told the rooms were not ready since we had arrived so early. At this time I, we, once again requested rooms down stairs, close to one another, and with queen size beds. I paid for the three rooms and all off us left for something to eat. The day clerk was very helpful and friendly. Calling me Mr. ** each time he addressed me. We finally got back at approximately 1730, 5:30 PM, and we were told only two rooms were ready at this time.
The rooms, 122, and 132. Neither were close together as requested. And the clerk, at this time didn't give a hoot about us or our request! We had to finally say we were about to leave when our last couple received their room. This room was 124, if I remember correctly, and there were two full size beds in the rooms instead of the queen requested and paid for! Upon my return to San Antonio, I wrote the Motel 6 complaining about the service and not being at all happy about what we had experienced!
Two of us are Retired DAV's. The next morning, the clerk who had checked us in couldn't understand why we had changed to one room being a double bed? I told him we didn't! That was what we were given. I can not believe, no one from Motel 6 has contacted me after my complaining about the service! I also can not believe they have tried, in no way to make the matter any better or make us feel we should ever return!

They also promised me a "room where I could see my vehicle" since you cannot park in front of your room at this Motel 6, the Embarcadero Oakland, CA property. They also told me to "call the day you are coming so we can be sure to give you what you want", which I did. They said to me, "You will be in Room 120" which was a downstairs, non-smoking room where you can see your vehicle in their parking lot.
They also told me, since I was holding this on my credit card, that "it doesn't matter how late you arrive", so I did come late that night. When I arrived, the only rooms they had available were: 1. A smoking room; 2. An upstairs room; 3. A room around the back of the motel very far from the parking lot, and impossible for me to unload my valuables because I could not drive to it and it was a mile from the lot 4. A "Handicapped Room" which was "only" for someone in a wheelchair, which I am not.
My only choice where I could still see my vehicle (being paranoid about being robbed and where I could unload my valuables easily), was a "Handicapped Room" which was horrible for me! These rooms are only for people in wheelchairs, period! I spent a horrible night with lots of noise, a terrible room, a filthy dirty parking lot (don't dare drop something on the ground!) and it was the very worst Motel 6 experience that I ever had in my life, and I stay at Motel 6 often due to being low income.

I stayed at this location for 100 days doing flood restoration work in the Nashville area. During my stay, cars were broken into, people complained of blood on mattresses to the extent of attempting to throw their soiled mattress over the balcony. One wing of the hotel was closed down due to bed bug infestation. Following one of the 3 housecleaning visits we received during our 100 day stay, my dog became violently sick. When I removed everything from the room I found a crack pipe underneath the bed. The window on my room was vandalized and instead of moving me to another room I stayed in that one, but was forced to miss a full day of work for them to fix the problem. Pan handling is allowed on the property by friends of the manager. The manager allows her extended family to use the pool on the weekends and I am talking about four large adults and 6 to 8 children prohibiting paying guests from the enjoyment of the same.
I never received my tax credit following my 90 day there which probably ended up in the manager's pocket. If the manager walked the property and did one quarter of the work there that all other employees complete, she could give up her gym membership. After filing my complaint with corporate, the manager was immediately notified and issued a no rent for me on the premises. That is Corporate's way of taking care of the situation. We travel constantly throughout the year for business so I will be notifying every person I do business with of the lack of respect I received as a paying guest of Motel 6. Eight people lost two days of work while two others were displaced the following day. I lost another full day of work taking care of my dog and the manager jacked up the rates following the flood so she could collect the most out of FEMA money.

Jay told my wife that she had ten minutes to leave the hotel for burning incense while doing her meditation. He threatened to charge her $250 for "smoking". Burning incense is not smoking. There was no possible way that I should be expected to infer that the non-smoking policy includes burning incense, which is something that we often do in a motel to eliminate the odors. The fire alarm did not go off and the window is locked shut. They kicked us out and kept the money that I had paid for the night. I had to leave an important event at the Los Angeles Convention Center to come and get her so that she would not be on the street with our bags. She said that he was rude and intimidating to her.
I called customer service to try to get a resolution and they did nothing for me. Furthermore, I think that Jay's actions were considerably based on his personal opinions of my wife. The fact that she is a small-sized woman with a Spanish accent. I do not think that he would have behaved so disrespectfully otherwise. I feel that the experience that my wife and I had at this motel goes beyond bad customer service and was absolutely unconscionable. I had to leave work, missing income earned. We made an online reservation at the Motel 6 website for March 16, 2010. I entered an address for the intersection of I-5 & CA Hiway 33 in Santa Nella, CA and made a reservation at the first site on their list, which was supposed to be the closest. We arrived at the site where we thought we had made the reservation. It was right at the intersection. We went into the office and told the clerk that we had a reservation and gave her our name. She checked my ID and credit card and assigned us a room.
Later, we discovered that the wrong first name was on our receipt. It wasn't even close. We wondered if we were at the correct location. Since the office was closed, we called the Motel 6 800 number and gave the person who answered the info of our receipt, and he assured us that we were at the correct location. When we got home, we reviewed our credit card statement and realized that we were charged for two different rooms for the same night. We called Motel 6 customer service, and it was explained to us that one charge was for a "no show" at a franchise site.
Here's the problem: Motel 6 has two motels that use the same name, Santa Nella-Los Banos. They are both adjacent to CA Hiway 33, but they are three miles apart. When we arrived at the "wrong" motel, the clerk should have told us that we didn't have a reservation and sent us to the other site. Instead, she wasn't paying attention and just gave us a room, most likely to fill her quota.
This call to Motel 6 customer service was answered by Nia, who was professional and courteous. She told us that the corporation had little control over the franchisees, but she would write a report and if the franchise site wouldn't respond positively, it would come back to the corporate office for corrective action.
The franchisee refused to reverse the charges and stated that it was our fault for going to the wrong site. Subsequent calls to Motel 6 customer service were answered by rude and defensive people who were more interested in protecting the company than listening to a customer complaint. We were essentially told to go away, because Motel 6 was not going to do anything to resolve this.
Yes, we made a mistake by going to the wrong site, but this was caused by the confusion of Motel 6's website. Our responsibility ended when we presented proper identification and were issued a room. This mistake was later reinforced by the rep at the 800 number. We think that one of these sites needs to refund our money. We were charged $58 for a room that we did not stay in, because we were not redirected to the proper site.

I arrived in Issaquah Washington on January 27th and stayed at the Motel 6. I am working in the area for the next two months and I have an apartment rented. On the apartment was to be ready on Friday, however at 11am, I found out it would not be ready until the 1st. I was busy making phone calls regarding my work and at 11:30 found out that I had a conference call at 11:45 am. I then called the front desk and told them I would be staying over and was running behind. I told the man I spoke with that as soon as I got off my conference call, I would come to the front desk and pay for additional time.
Right before the conference call, the maid came to the door and I opened the door and told them I would not be needing room service. About 11:40 I got on the phone and started the conference call on my cell phone. During my conference call, which lasted about 40 minutes, I received three phone calls on the hotel phone and two more knocks at the door. I finally took the hotel phone off the hook so I could finish my conference call. At the end of my call, I then was preparing to go to the front desk to pay for additional nights when one of the service managers came to my door. He then told me I needed to check out of the hotel. I explained to him that I was staying another night.
I decided to go to the front desk and talk to the general manager. As I was walking to the front office, the man saw me and came walking fast up behind me saying sir you need to check out. I then stopped and turned around to talk to him and he ran into me. He then said ok sir I am calling the police. I said what for and he said sir you need to leave. I then continued to walk to the office and he got in front of me and entered the office ahead of me. There was a lady at the front desk helping someone else and I had to wait until they were finished.
When the lady finished with the customer, I then asked her to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. I then explained to her what happened. The man was still on the phone calling the police. While on the phone, the manager got on the phone with the police and talked to them. I then saw a police car pull into the front and an officer came in. The officer spoke to the manager and we walked outside and I told him my story. He asked me if I wanted to stay another night and I told him not really but that I wanted to talk to the general manager and make a complaint about the incident. I ended up checking out of the hotel and stayed at a much nicer hotel one exit down. I made several attempts to contact the district manager and the corporate office but no one ever returned my calls just a couple of emails saying they were sorry.
I will never stay at a Motel 6 again and if this is Accord North America's policy, I will never stay at their hotels.I guess it is true you get what you pay for, so Tom please don't leave the light on for me!

I called the very next day 12/3/2009 and filed a complaint asking for a refund only to be laughed at. After filing a complaint on the customer care website, I was contacted by an Eric P. or Mr. P., who I would love to meet in person to see what he has to say to be told to stop calling, stop emailing to forget about a refund and go get legal representation. This company is trash. The rooms have odors and are loaded with pet fur in the corners and the employees know nothing about customer service.
All I asked for was a refund of my money. I felt after suffering, scratching and my eyes were swollen. That’s the least they could do; instead they told me to (expletive) off. Real good business practice. Everyone needs to know what type of company this is and avoid it; and hopefully god willing they will go out of business and Mr. P. will be standing in the unemployment line where he belongs. Ignorant people like that don't deserve to have jobs, especially now when our country is hurting and so many good people need jobs. I am out $50, which any other company would have refunded because they know that will bring future business and the word of mouth would spread. I hate this company and will do whatever needed to spread the word. I am contacting the attorney general of my state next business day to see what they can do for me; the better business bureau man was very helpful to me giving me connection to file complaints with all the appropriate people and companies to spread the word about the ignorance of this company. This resulted to bed bugs and swollen eyes. I was treated like a scumbag and not given any respect.

As you know I filed a bug complaint about Motel 6. I had bed bugs and a reaction to the unclean pet dander that made me itch and break out. I filed multiple complaints and asked for a supervisor but all I got back were 2 phone calls from a guy named Eric **. I tried calling back and his number says it's disconnected. He left a message on my phone telling me to stop calling, stop emailing, and I am not getting a refund and I should seek legal advice if I feel I was mistreated.
Initially, I lost out on my money from the room of almost $50. Now I have a Motel 6 representative calling me, talking down to me like I am his child, telling me basically to go pound sand. i just find it so hard to believe a company wouldn't issue a refund and have their employees talk to people the way Eric did when someone is covered with red welts and bites for 2 weeks. I will never stay at Motel 6 again and I am telling everyone who asks what I have, what happened and how unprofessional Motel 6 is. I just want my money back. That's all.

My sewer pipe went at my home. It was 10:30pm. I needed a place to stay to get a night's sleep before work in the morning. Well, they seemed clean in the lobby and there was no indication that they allowed dogs and other animals in the rooms. So I spent the last $45.75 I had on a room, only to wake up at 7:30am itching and scratching and eyes swollen. After looking in the mirror, it looked as if I had chicken pox. I looked outside. I saw people walking dogs and carrying dogs out of rooms. So I asked the tenant what's going on, and she said, "Ya, we allow dogs. Well that should have been disclosed to me before I bought my room. I am allergic to some dog dander during high school. About 8-9 years ago, they didn't allow dogs. So I didn't feel the need to go checking their website to see if that's allowed. It should be posted when signing in.
I asked for my money back, and I was laughed at. I called Mr. **. The next day, I checked out at 7:30 am due to this, and their customer service didn't open till 9am. This was on December 3. I stayed December 2, so I called at exactly 9am on December 3 and filed my complaint. It took Mr. ** 3 days to get back to me. I have left him at least a dozen messages with no call back. He proceeded to tell me on this call that they didn't check the room for bed bugs or anything. It was just ruled as a reaction to the pet dander? I shouldn't have had to deal with that in the first place. Mr. ** called me on Monday (December 14th) and proceeded to tell me now they tested the room for bed bugs and it was negative. It took him 2 weeks to come back to me with some lie when he already told me they didn't check the room.
I am telling everyone I know about the place - the lies and allowing dogs in it, which is absolutely insane. I am an animal lover, but dogs have no place in a motel. I am so disappointed in the service and the way people handle things. I want to take this as far and as high as I can. I never asked for a refund in my life, and the one time I feel I deserved one, I was laughed at. Tell me what I can do and whom I can take this too. I left Mr. ** a message. I want to know who his supervisor is and want to complain to him as well. These people have to learn what customer service is. I work in customer service/collections, and if I worked as they do, I would be out of a job.

My family and I were at this motel for a week, and we paid every 2 to 3 days at a time. On Monday, the 13th, David decided that a credit card on file wasn't good enough for them, so on this day and on the 9th, the motel would ask us if we wanted to stay and I would say yes through the door. They would tell me to go down to the front desk. On Monday, the 13th, they asked me again if I would like to stay and said, yes to one of the managers through the door. After that, I didn't hear anything else from them. My key was working all day. I had even seen the manager, David **, and he looked at me and he didn't say anything.
Later on that evening, at 11 pm, my mother Ruby ** tried to pay for the room but they didn't want to use the credit card anymore; they just wanted us out. I had my son with me and two car loads of luggage. They called the police for no reason. We never said we weren't going to leave. The police came in the room, 3 to be exact, with my son watching all of this. At 12 am in the morning, it's hard to get a room so we had to impose on a relative. David ** didn't give us any warning, nor did he say anything all day about the unfair eviction. He just labeled the computer account so we could pay like he was trying to get us back for not going to the front desk every other day to tell them to use the credit card on file. I think this was very unprofessional, even personal, maybe racially motivated.

When I got up in the morning, I had bites all over me. I went to CHW Urgent Care. Consequences: I had bug bites all over me. They itched and burned all of Sunday. I have paperwork from Urgent Care, $40.00 later.

It was the worst place we ever stopped at.The room they gave us was filthy. We pulled the sheets back & there was dirt & leaves in the bed.We complained and the girl let us look at two other rooms. One room smelled like something had died in there. The other room had roaches running through out the room. The girl gave us our money back & she said we we're the only people who has ever complained about the rooms.I don't know what kind of people stayed there but the other rooms couldn't have been any cleaner. We have notice that the motel 6's up & down the east coast have been looking pretty run down. They need to have an health inspectors to look them over.

Reserved a room for 2 nights in Portland Maine. $89/night. Showed up and was told that the hotel was overbooked and that they didn't have a room for me. They did say that they "reserved some extra rooms" at a motel around the corner called "The Inn at Portland". Well, I went to this place and it was absolutely disgusting. One of those motels where the office is separate, and you have to drive to the rooms. The rooms were located behind an abandoned building, not visible from the road or the office. The external door was unlocked and the whole place smelled like somthing had died (probably a homeless person in the abandoned building).
NOt to mention, the room only had two twin beds, when I had originally reserved two King beds. I refused to stay there as I was with a girl who felt unsafe (the room was on ground level with a big window with a poor latch). THe ONLY other vacancy in the area (this was a friday night in a touristy area) was at the Wyndham for $200 per night. I called Motel 6 prior to taking that room and explained the situation, and the girl said that customer relations wasn't open until the morning, but that they guarantee their reservation and all I would have to do would be to send in my receipt for the other hotel room and I would be compensated for 1 night.
I did just that, and got a reply saying that I would not be reimbursed because I didn't stay where they told me to. I tried to explain that the place was unsafe and dirty, but that didn't matter. That's like them telling me that they didn't have a room for me, but that I could go stay in a van in the parking lot. Then, if I decide to not stay in the van, I don't get reimbursed? They said that they would have reimbursed me for one night at the place they sent me, so I asked for a check for that rate ($89), but they refused! So my weekend cost me over $400 when it should have been around $179! And when I called guest relations, they refused to let me speak to a supervisor! I filed a complaint with the BBB as well. Had to pay $400 and lose hours trying to find a vacancy on a friday night. Weekend was ruined.

MAY 19 - I checked into a hotel with a reservation of $35.99. The manager of the hotel REFUSED to honor that rate, and instead charged full-price of $39.99.
MAY 28 - The same thing happened, but this time I provided a printout. The manager went ballistic, insisted there's no such thing as a $35.99 rate, even though that's what my reservation said. He then threw a mini-temper tantrum. He said, You are no longer welcome here, and you will never be allowed to stay at this hotel again. And on and on. He then called the police and hand them escort me off the property, which was completely uncalled for.
In my opinion, if a rate of $35.99 is advertised, then that's the rate that should be given. Not a higher price. Furthermore, if a customer questions why the price has gone up, the customer should be able to do so without being kicked out or drug off by the police. That is very, very poor customer service. There is nothing offensive about a customer politely asking, Why am I not getting $35.99? This Motel 6 manager, Bryce, has anger management issues.
Embarassment, emotional distress (physical shaking), and no place to spend the night. (I slept in my car.)

This motel is horrible. When my husband and two children checked in they looked at us like we were thugs. THey took a 50 dollar deposit and the next day refused to give it back to us. They said it was because my husband had used an ashtray that they had set on the porch and the smoke had drifted in the room.
Everyone at that motel used that same ashtray. There were cigarettes of all different brands in it. I think that they stole from us and were rude. This is a low-class place with bad service.
Lost $50. Emotionally traumatizing.

I made reservations with this property 3 weeks ago for 11 rooms for 2 nights. It was agreed that the rate would be $53.99 plus tax per room per night.
I confirmed these rooms on Monday, October 1st and once again spoke to Linda.
On Wednesday, October 3rd I faxed Linda the rooming list for these 11 rooms for 2 nights and asked her to immediately call me so we could go over some details that I had laid out for the rooms. Linda called me back within 5 minutes and we proceeded to review all the details which were clearly spelled out: Price, arrival time and date, departure date, etc...
(I have a copy of this fax which clearly spells out all of the details).
On Saturday morning, my manager is informed that our reservations were only for 1 night. In all of my written and verbal communication with this property, it was clearly indicated that the reservations were for 2 nights. We even confirmed the amount of $1282.82 that would be charged to my credit card for the 2 nights stay.
Now, my hockey team is in New Hampshire and has to leave the hotel because someone in the hotel will NOT LIVE UP TO THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT. We are being put out onto the street with no place to go. This is totally unethical since I clearly have a confirmation for a 2 nights reservation.
This is wrong and immoral and not the way business should be conducted.
