    I thought I was calling the actual hotel courtesy desk.. When I asked if it was the actual hotel that I that I was talking to, she said yes! She did not make it clear that she was part of a booking agency or that we would be charge extra for her services! I feel like I have been scammed and only a refund of the difference between what the hotel actually charged you, which was around $77, to what you charged us, which was roughly $113.... This was totally wrong and unacceptable and will not be forgiven or forgotten without that refund!

    I made a reservation today believing I was dealing with the Marriott I wanted to stay at. The lady that I spoke with quoted a room rate of $144.00 a night which I agreed to reserve. Shortly after I received an email with additional charges added to my reservation which I was never informed of. I immediately called back and asked to cancel the reservation but was told that it was non-refundable. I was never informed of this policy nor was I informed of the additional charges. This closely resembles a scam and I will never use this company again. I will be sharing this unfortunate experience with others and recommending that this company is not to be used or trusted.

    My son has to go to the Cleveland Clinic every 6 months for check ups as he had a double lung transplant several years ago. We always stay at the Intercontinental Hotel which is attached to the Clinic and offers a special room rate for transplant patients. My son forgot to make the reservation months ahead as he usually does, so the week before he and my wife were supposed to fly to Cleveland, my wife realized the hotel was not booked. She looked online and saw what she thought was the Intercontinental website.

    She called the number and asked if she was speaking to the hotel. The man said she was. When she asked about booking a room at the special transplant rate, the man said that the rate he was quoting $303.99 per night, was the special rate. We told him it was usually around $180 per night. He said that they were very full and because we were booking it so close to the check in date that it was higher. My wife had the phone on speaker and myself and my son were at the table during the conversation.

    At that point I asked if we were actually talking to a third-party booking agent. The man said no. In fact, he said, "I hate those third-party booking companies." The total cost for the 2 nights came to $862.90. When my wife and son arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel they asked about the transplant rate going up due to how full the hotel was. They were then told that the transplant rate is always the same (it was $194.00 per night plus tax) even if you were booking the last available room. She informed them that the reservation had in fact been made through HotelPlanner and not with them. The hotel told me that the 2 nights (with tax) should have cost us $455.90.

    When I found that out I immediately contacted HotelPlanner and told them what had happened. I was given the option to cancel the reservation or ask for a refund of the difference. If I cancelled they would charge me 1 night anyway. So I asked for a refund of the difference which was $407.00. That was on 4/23/24. I have not received a refund yet. Prior to writing this review, I looked at many of the 1 star reviews and it seems that deceiving callers into believing they are talking to the actual hotel that they are trying to book with is common practice with this company.

    I called the local number (**) over 12 times only to receive a "wireless caller not available" message each time. I called ** repeatedly trying to get to an agent. The first time I was transferred to another VRU that didn't have an option for my needs. The second time, upon my request for her to verify the local number I have called over a dozen times she told me to look it up in the Yellow Pages or Google it. When I reiterated that the number I obtained from both the hotel website and Google wasn't working and asked for her to verify the number she proceeded with closing the call, "thanking me and telling me to have a nice day" and hanging up on me. I've worked for customer service giants like Nordstrom and Starbucks and I'm appalled that this is the level of service I've received after a recent stay. I just called for a receipt for work reimbursement. Unreal!!!+

    Reservation 5/17-5/18 # **. Hotel Planner is SHADY and Dishonest! Booked a local hotel for a night that had a hot tub as an amenity because of back issues. Called the local number and asked the agent if he was onsite at the hotel and can confirm that the hot tub was working before I make a reservation. He confirmed he was onsite and the hot tub worked!! 20 minutes after checking in we found out the hot tub was NOT working so we CHECKED OUT less than an hour of checking in. MANY phone calls to Hotel Planner to get refund and only offered to submit a complaint for review to get refund. Email received stating “we utilized the reservation” (we DID NOT) and that “a hot tub was not mentioned at to the agent”. It was 100% mentioned and the reason I booked the hotel.

    Hotel Planner needs to be accountable of how they conduct their business and treat customers. Stating that they are onsite at the hotel is not only deceitful but unethical and then lying saying “a hot tub was not mentioned” in their review! We are still waiting for our REFUND! After reading some reviews here, it sounds like Hotel Planners often represents themselves as part of the hotel to get a booking! Again Shady!

    Not that you care from reading your reviews. I got screwed by your company. They answer the phone letting you think it's the hotel and never identify themselves. When I realized my mistake and called the hotel direct and rebooked I then tried to cancel booking with hotel planner and they wanted one night's room fee, taxes etc. I called them back within a half hour. I'm waiting on some escalation process that I don't believe in. I will be contacting my attorney.

She even answered questions about the local area, though I have no way of knowing if she knew anything about the area. I suspect she did not. The price I paid for my room was about twice the cost had I booked directly. I was not told of the add on charge for being able to cancel the reservation. After numerous phone calls and a website that was originally not cooperative, I was able to receive that portion refunded. Needless to say, I have learned to be much more cautious when booking hotel rooms, and would not recommend hotelplanner.

    Dealora was representative/agent. Called to book a room during an event in late July - specified that I wanted to be able to cancel with 24-48 hour notice and simply reserve room - paying at arrival. After we spoke, I received a charge from Protecht ** that I was charged $61.12 to cover cancellation with a total charge of $719.07 to my card immediately. No other details provided. This agent did not disclose the charge for cancellation ahead of time or a charge to my card today at all so I phoned customer service to cancel this reservation and was told that a request must be placed and a refund would take 7-10 days.

    I am frankly surprised and feel scammed by this lack of disclosure - I provided my Credit card # for a hold NOT a charge, and she never disclosed there would be a fee in case of cancellation within 24-48 hours. I no longer want to stay at your hotel as this was the absolute worst experience I have had with an agent. Waiting for a timely & quick refund to my account. Thank you.

    The person I spoke with acted like they were at the hotel. Did not get room I ordered even though receipt said executive room. They ordered me a mini executive, which I expressed I did not want. They said it was all paid and even sent me a text day before that it was all paid. They didn't pay resort fee, which I had to pay to get my room of $112.00. They did give me a balcony, which was suppose to be in my reservation. Hotel Said I booked through Expedia, which farmed it out to this corrupt company. Had to pay them cancelation funds, which turned out that I had to prove to them I was in the hospital or other trash, when I tried to cancel. Complaints to Expedia forthcoming.     I accidentally ended up with HotelPlanner.com when calling to make a hotel reservation. I thought I was calling the hotel directly. The woman on the phone was not upfront about who she was working for and at one point mentioned how third-party businesses can sometimes leave you without a room and booking through them was better (even though they are a third-party business). She told me the hotel I wanted was full and booked me into a more expensive room nearby. (It wasn't. I eventually called the hotel myself and got the room I wanted.) The hotelplanner.com agent added in travel insurance I didn't need. All of this was charged to my credit card upfront, which is not what hotels usually do.

    They reserve the room with your card, but don't charge until your stay. She read me the terms quickly, which I agreed to, and assured me it was the cheapest room available that night. It wasn't. I called back and canceled the room that night and said I wanted a full refund to my credit card. They agreed. A week later I got a voucher that I didn't want. I called again and again and again. I finally got a person from escalation who told me all of my money would be refunded, but it might take 2 weeks. Two weeks later, still no refund. I called again. I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company. The next day, hotelplanner.com said they were refunding most of my money. It's still pending, but the hassle has been unreal and I'm still short $36.

We were able to locate your reservation in our system and we show that you have disputed the charge for your reservation, we are locked out of the refund process while the dispute is under review with the original merchant of record, this requires us to close your ticket pending the dispute investigation, which can take up to 90 days, and unfortunately, there is no manual override. If you have a letter from your bank/credit card holder stating the dispute is withdrawn, we can make the request for the dispute review to be closed early.

    This is what needs to be included in the dispute closed letter and emailed to ChargeReview@HotelPlanner.com

    1. MUST be a screenshot of a message in the bank’s online messaging portal or a photo of a letter on bank letterhead (Cannot be a forwarded email from a bank rep)
    2. MUST state cardholder dropped or withdrew the dispute
    3. MUST include the following info, which must match the charge info:
    · Cardholder name
    · Last four digits of card

    · Amount of dispute

    If you can present this documentation, we can work to have your dispute closed earlier, but we cannot promise approval. Unfortunately, that is not our decision. We will contact you with a status update as soon as we hear back from the merchant of record for this booking.

    I would give this place zero if possible. I never even heard of HotelPlanner.com. We wanted to book the hotel directly so we did an internet search to find the specific hotel we wanted and called that number. They answered as Holiday Inn Express that we wanted so we asked them if they accept dogs and they said yes they did. We booked the room and when we got there the hotel said no they did not take dogs. We told the hotel we would stay the night and to cancel the rest. The hotel said we would have to talk to Expedia. We were totally confused and told them we never talked to Expedia. We booked right with the hotel. The hotel finally gave us a number and it was hotelplanner.com. They fraudulently answered as the hotel and booked our room.

    After a bunch of back and forth they hotel agreed to not charge us for the remaining 4 nights of our reservation. Hotelplanner.com said they would but it would take 10 days. So we called a Comfort Inn and Suites in the same area looked up the number online again and called that hotel. They answered the phone as Comfort inn and we asked them if they were the particular at the address and city we were asking for and they said yes. We asked if they accepted dogs and they said yes. We booked the room and same thing no they don't accept dogs. We told them to cancel the room because they lied to us and again they said to talk to Expedia who we never talked to.

    We went through the same rigmarole with Hotelplanner.com and the hotel and again they said eventually we would get a refund. We waited the 10 days and no refund. We called them and they gave us the runaround and no refund. They charged us what the hotel advertised plus $54 a night for some service charge. They charged us over $1200 and we only stayed 1 night at the Holiday Inn express and no nights at the Comfort inn. That is stealing plain and simple. They misrepresented themselves by saying they were the hotel and hijacking the hotels' phone number and they lied about accepting dogs. Do not trust them or any phone number for any hotel you find on the internet.

    I called because I couldn’t find a direct number to the hotel. Agent located a room, quoted a price of 137 and some change, which is $50 more than what I normally pay. I asked why and she stated there was a $37 fee, and all hotels charge it. I told her I’ll just drive to the hotel and make one there, she said there were only 3 rooms left and it would probably be gone by the time I get there, I felt like she was really trying to push me to make the reservations. She continued to speak over me as I tried to tell her never mind and then just hung up on me. Immediately after the call was disconnected, I got two requests for a review. FYI - I found a direct number and got the room, with tax and NO FEES for $85.32. I’ve saved the number and will use that from now on.

    I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using them to book a hotel. I was misled about the room at Days Inn. I was told the room was beach front and a full breakfast was served! Neither of those statements were true! When I got there and found this out I called to cancel the room. I was told they would listening the recording of me booking the room with their customer Service guy and if I was told it was beach front and full breakfast they would reimbursement me. 6 days later I received an email saying they called days Inn and they didn't approve the refund. That's NOT what the agreement was!! BTW that DAYS INN is not where you want to stay at with your family! I thought it was gonna be like the one in PCB! ITS DEFINITELY NOT!!! I usually don't do this! But I was lied to and then they DID NOT BACK THEIR WORD!!!!

    I was shocked to learn that the rate advertised of $113/night was not the actual rate after taxes and fees. Instead, the actual rate is $188/night. I was not offered or asked about discounts that might be applied (senior citizen, veteran, AARP, AAA, etc.). When I called back about that, I learned that since the reservation is confirmed, no discounts can be retroactively applied. I also learned that my reservation is non-refundable, should I choose to cancel it or shorten my stay. I am deeply disappointed and will not forget this regrettable experience. Provided the bride's name and your agent acted as though she was booking as part of the room block for the wedding. We were able to locate your reservation in our system and we show that you have disputed the charge for your reservation, once a reservation is disputed we are locked out of the refund process while the dispute is under review with the original merchant of record, this requires us to close your ticket pending the dispute investigation, which can take up to 90 days, and unfortunately, there is no manual override. If you have a letter from your bank/credit card holder stating the dispute is withdrawn, we can make the request for the dispute review to be closed early.

    This is what needs to be included in the dispute closed letter and emailed to ChargeReview@HotelPlanner.com

    1. MUST be a screenshot of a message in the bank’s online messaging portal or a photo of a letter on bank letterhead (Cannot be a forwarded email from a bank rep)

    On March 2, 2024 my family were driving to Olympia Washington from Reno Nevada to host my son's celebration of life. When we were close to Olympia I called a number I got off of Google for the Hampton Inn Suites, 360-474-4105. When the man answered, I asked if I was speaking to the Hampton Inn on Martin Way, he said "yes". I told him we needed two rooms for two nights, one with a king bed and the other with two queens. I was quoted a price of $740.00 and that was in line with my previous reservations at Crater Lake, Oregon and Westport Washington. At the end of the conversation we reviewed the request again. 2 rooms 2 nights. When we got to the Hampton Inn they only had us there for 2 rooms, 1 night and both were for 2 queens. All totally wrong. The night clerk there said they would fix this reservation and also let me know that when I called I was I didn't talk to them but to a 3rd party, Hotel Planner.

    The next morning we were told this was all taken care of and we could keep the same rooms. When we checked out we were charged another fee of $302.64 and the original problem was not corrected. So at this point we were charged $1043.64 for 2 room, 2 nights. Upon getting home, on March 11, 2024 I called 888-972-9163, the number on the email and a ticket was open with the problem being explained. They said they would review to recorded conversation and refund me the overage.

    On March 15th, I was only refunded $101.34 and not the expected amount of 302.64 for the 2nd night that was paid through Hotel Planner. I called over and over and explained that in good faith I requested 2 rooms for 2 night and I was overcharged and the refund was not acceptable and they still owed us 240.32. I was told they would reopen the ticket, a supervisor would call me and I would be getting an email regarding this issue and so far no one has called, I have not received any more emails and no texts. Hotel Planner robbed my account without any remorse. DO NOT USE THEM!!

    First of all, their webpage was made to look like the hotel’s and I called them by mistake. Then they overcharged me $200 more than the hotel rate. Next, they didn’t tell me it was nonrefundable until it was too late. When I tried to verify the reservation on their website it showed no record.

    We made a hotel reservation on February 2 of this year. My wife broke her arm and we had to cancel the reservation for the hotel for March 30. We called and canceled the reservation five days before and we were told that they have a no cancellation policy. The courtyard Marriott has a 48 hours cancellation policy. Hotel planner.com said they could only give us a voucher for half the amount. I did put it on my American Express. I am hoping that they will be able to get a full refund of $197, if you are planning on doing anything with this company, I would stay away from them or you will lose money, especially if anything comes up that you need to cancel. We called them a few times and they hung up on us. They should be ashamed for treating people that way. The Better Business Bureau should get involved.

    It took over 20 minutes to get through to Hilton to try to resolve this issue on my bill. The phone number on the reservation is one character too long. I guess I’m supposed to figure out which character should be omitted. The voice prompts when I finally got through asked for an itinerary number that starts with H there is no such thing on the reservation confirmation. The woman on the phone was rude. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get through and she shouldn’t hang up on me.

    Got connected to Hotel Planners while making a reservation at Residence Inn Chattanooga Friday March 8. They charged me 162% more than what I would have paid at the front desk, $210. In addition I was charged $29.05 for a refund protection plan that I did not sign up for. I should have known I was not on the Marriott site.....but these folks ripped me off big time. I thought I had been hacked, as Marriott did not get "card authorization form" that is customary for such transactions. After making several phone calls, Residence Inn did receive what they needed, and voided their portion of the charge....but why the 162% premium plus $29.05 from Hotel Planner. Boo!!!!

    Three days ago I called DIRECTLY 4 hotels in a city we are planning a reunion in, to get a quote for a block of room. Somehow, HotelPlanner injected themselves into the process, they made broad assumptions about our request (which are not accurate) and apparently shopped it to 75 hotels without our knowledge, agreement or consent. We were assigned someone named Sarah **, who I do not believe is a real person. 5 calls to her have gone unreturned, emails to her are also ignored, and all calls to try and speak with someone else, all go to the same recording "All agents are busy, so leave a message and we'll get back to you..." What a joke, you leave messages and no one calls.

    Their CHAT feature is also a joke, it always says "Chat not available." We sent a message to their "Chat" feature and it went to yet another third party, somewhere in the Philippines. This company's customer support is non-existent, we didn't even want them in the first place, we contacted preferred hotels directly, but now that they have commandeered our inquiry, they refuse to communicate with us to get some simple answers to simple questions. They appear to be totally bogus. It should not take 3 days and counting to get any kind of response. Oh yes, we did get a canned robo-email from the non-existent Sarah, for a 1 star hotel we would never consider anyway.

    I used HotelPlanner.com to start a room block for my daughter's wedding. I actually thought I was using the hotel's website, but when the confirmation email came through it was hotelplanner.com. No problem, until I get to the hotel to check-in. I had three reservations, two for my daughter and one for me. The rooms for my daughter were ready as expected, but the agent at the hotel did not have my prepaid reservation under Itinerary Number: **. So, I call the hotelplanner.com customer service and the agent confirms that my reservation was cancelled on October 26, 2023 exactly 20 days after I made the reservation. No notification was sent to me nor was my cc refunded for the cost. My reservation was for January 5 - 7, 2024. Plenty of time to notify me and refund my money. Nope!

    Now, they want to claim that I checked in to the hotel under this reservation. And, they claim someone at the hotel confirmed to them that I did check in under that reservation. Not possible, since the hotel agent found no reservation for me at the time of check-in and I was forced to pay for a new booking at that time. So, now I am out double the cost for this reservation. The issues here are 1) my reservation was cancelled without notifying me 2) they told me there was nothing they could do to reinstate the reservation once I was told it had been cancelled nor did they do anything about it and 3) they want to keep my money even though they did not provide any services. Wow!

    I wish I had read the many reviews on ConsumerAffairs and the BBB before trusting this organization with my money. Fortunately, the rest of the room block details were handled directly with the hotel business management team. I would not trust this company to handle my lodging needs ever again and I hope, if you are reading this, you don't either.
