    When making reservations spoke too fast and I had to ask him to repeat and he became agitated and said, "I am speaking English." Told him not to be a jerk. Told him to slow down and that he was being a jerk. Talked to him after I made reservation that he should never had said that to a customer. I’ve worked in customer service all my life. It was extremely rude. Had no choice but to stay there because I have a death in family and attending funeral. Very poor customer service.

    Hotel Planner fraudulently sold me a hotel reservation for a room at the Hyatt House in Belmont California. First Hotel Planner has no business posing as Hyatt Reservations when you contact their front desk, confirmed this with Hyatt. They rented me a hotel room that didn't exists and when I tried to cancel the reservation for the non existent room, they told me I couldn't. They then provided me with a voucher to use with them again. This whole experience has been awful. Filed a BBB claim against them and they still claim the voucher is their final response. Will report this as fraud with my credit card company. Stay away from Hotel Planner, it's a scam.

    Zola was very rude. I explained it was for my mother’s funeral and he told me the price he had. I explained I had booked two other rooms at a cheaper price and that the prior agent installed could partially match that. Gave me the impression that the hotel was really full but that they had a room available. Then told me that that room was not available. Then located another room that was available.     If I could elect zero stars for Hotelplanner, I would do so. I booked a hotel reservation only to find out that I was overcharged by approximately $800. I requested a cancellation three hours after making the purchase and was told that I would be issued a refund on my credit card. I was also lied to during the sale process as I let them know that I would like to book under a wedding reservation block. They said they saw the block and were applying the discount.

    Later, in speaking with the hotel, they did not apply the discount and in fact charged me more than a standard rate. Currently I’ve been told that the $2300 charge will be issued as a voucher. I have gone back-and-forth with this company about 10 times being told that tickets are being submitted. If you book with this company, know that you are being fully overcharged and there is a very difficult process with cancellation and their cancellation refund is done via voucher. I recommend you go directly through the hotel and do not use this company. I’ve also requested a call back and have yet to hear from real person.

    There are low rates involved here. The real issue is when the virtual card is declined. Support does nothing but tell you they are escalating it. Don't bother asking for a supervisor, there is no one on duty. We will be requiring any HotelPlanner guests to provide a valid credit card that can be charged to the room. I provided the agent with a ticket number but they are too lazy to actually read the ticket and keep asking the questions already answered. Obviously they try to frustrate you to the point where you give up.

    Hotelplanner.com misrepresented itself as the actual hotel I was trying to reach and negatively affected my brother’s wedding. In September, I called a number that I believed was associated with the Sheraton Hartford South to book a room for my brother’s wedding. The phone number specifically purports to be in Rockford Connecticut, where the wedding would be. When I asked to book a room within the block of rooms my brother and his fiancé had set aside for the wedding party they told me they knew of the block of rooms and would book me into one.

    When they charged me over $500 for a single night at a Sheraton, with a $141.50 tax and service fee, I thought it was steep but I just assumed the rates were high and they had told me that they were in fact the hotel. When I complained to my mother about the rate, she said her room cost less than $150. So I contacted the hotel and asked them why mine was so much more. They said I had booked through a third party service and I was shocked. They also told me the room I had WAS NOT WITHIN THE BLOCK OF ROOMS DESIGNATED FOR THE WEDDING PARTY.

    I tried calling the number I first spoke to back in December and when I complained to them about the way they LIED about booking a room for me within the block of rooms designated for my brother’s wedding party they hung up on me. When I spoke to the people at the Sheraton, they told me they had a problem with companies like Hotelplanner.com misrepresenting themselves as being the hotel itself. This company is dishonest and ruined my experience of my brother’s wedding while grifting me out of hundreds of dollars!

    This complaint was resolved with a full refund. It did take quite a while to resolve with multiple attempts to resolve it so that is why I am only rating this company 4 stars.

    Original Review: Nov. 8, 2024

    I was lied to and I am extremely upset and feel as though I have been cheated out of over 500 dollars! I made a reservation for two rooms one nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pittsburgh. Because of unforeseen circumstances our party is unavoidably able to attend that date. This was a non-refundable reservation, however, I was totally unaware that I was not talking to the hotel itself when I made this reservation or I would have never continued to book. The agent never identified this call was going through Hotel Planner and not directly through the hotel itself or that it was going to be booked through a third party. I contacted the Hilton Garden Inn hotel General Manager and got approval for cancellation and a full refund for this date.

    The Manager was then contacted by Hotel Planner and he approved the cancellation and full refund while I was waiting on the phone. I was never told by the agent that a voucher would be the manner of refund. I was issued a voucher for half the amount to be used before the second half was to be released. I called the agent and declined the voucher and asked for a refund on my credit card. I did state that if I do make a reservation I will not be using Hotel Planner again in the future and would call a hotel directly to make any reservation.

    I was told that this request would be sent to the “team” for review and it would take 2-10 days. We are past that mark and I still have yet to get an answer from the “team” as to the status of this refund. Also, I have reached out three separate times and was lied to twice that a ticket was being generated and I would receive a text or email with all the information regarding the refund. I only received one text which I replied to and never received a response. At one point I asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would call me back in 24 hours. Guess what? No call!!! I am being given the run around and lied to regarding this issue which is totally unacceptable. I have to repay my other party members as we are not rescheduling this trip and cannot use a voucher to do this. Make sure you know who exactly you are talking to before booking a reservation. I want the full refund I am entitled to.

    Updated on 11/18/2024: This is now my second review being created. This is in response to a very terrible experience with this service being offered. Not only was the service one of the WORST services I have ever attempted to utilize, but the customer service feedback response is equally as unresponsive. I have reached out to **@hotelplanner.com whom was originally assigned to help but have also not heard back from them in any capacity other than simply suggesting a refund. I was not provided any other information. I reached back out to this individual with any additional information and still nothing. This issue will be taking close to a month with no forward momentum here. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE.

    Original Review: Hotelplanner has been by far the WORST service I have ever utilized. No one picks up your phone calls if you missed one of theirs. No one is responsive to emails because I have 2 emails that have gone without a single reply. I have voicemails that have gone to no one. I have even called back and had the issue escalated and still have not gotten so much as an apology from this service. I have not been able to connect with anyone since the first day I requested the service. I ended up paying more money for a room I booked that I had to contact the hotel directly for my group block to be created because Hotelplanner.com did NOTHING to help expedite or even remotely attempt at getting me a quote.

    NOTHING from this experience was good nor is it a service I'd recommend to anyone. Just for a laugh - I got an email today stating "Hi Steve, can you please advise which hotel you confirmed for your event in Northbrook for 10/26/2024 - 10/27/2024? You may be eligible for the free hotel voucher – ask me more about it!". Only problem was my wedding was already on the 26th. I had no chance for a single hotel voucher and had to do everything myself WITHOUT this service.

    I thought I had connected to the Best Western reservation site, not a third party. The agent I spoke with had a heavy accent which made understanding her more difficult. I was charged for cancellation insurance I did not need. I was making the reservation just a couple of hours before my arrival. My plans were NOT going to change. There was a further charge for some sort of service that supposedly would not be charged on my bill if I ignored the follow up.     Many new additions to the room! Having been technician for Holiday Inn, I notice things that need addressed. BJ came with me to my room and I pointed out a problem. I found a few more.     I am a Federal Government Employee. I had a meeting I had to attain Olympia, WA. Jorge told me that there were no government rooms left. He only had 2 rooms available but not at gov. rate. I believed this swindler in booked the room. The money was taken out of my account immediately. I called back within an hour and said that I wanted to cancel. He said that I had waived cancellation.     An absolute ripoff. I thought I was calling directly to Quality Inn in Rock Springs, WY. In fact, the guy I spoke to, Edward, represented himself as an employee of the Quality Inn I was calling. It turns out Edward worked for the company that charged my credit card $126.08 for a room the front desk told me actually cost $77.24. They ripped me off with a $48.84 booking fee! That's 58% addition to the actual price. What a friggin’ RIPOFF!!! And you can’t get a hold of anyone to try and remedy the excessive booking fee. RIPOFF!!! RIPOFF!!! RIPOFF!!!

    I would say your biggest flaw is lack of communication with potential customers and website has too many bugs when trying to contact hotels. Your planners do not call or email the customer directly, and will send only a generic email stating of hotels in the area. I found it more helpful just finding your own hotel and reaching out to their management. Would not recommend this company as a tool to book hotels for events.

    I had a very nice and thorough conversation with Christina on October 7 regarding the protection plan for my booking October 8. We discussed thoroughly, the possibility of me having to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather. (Hurricane Milton) at the possibility that I might not be able to get out of Naples. The booking was nonrefundable however I purchased the protection plan to guarantee a full refund.

    I repeatedly asked if there would be any issue with my refund because I was genuinely concerned about the weather and the conditions. I am now doing battle with the protection plan company. I am very upset because I would never have booked a non-refundable hotel room if I didn’t have the option to get my money back under the circumstances. I am asking the hotel to stand by their word and the conversation that I had with Christina and reimburse me in full.

    I understand the protection plan company is a separate entity however it is backed by the hotel so ultimately the hotel is responsible to stand by their word. I have provided documentation of dangerous and inclement weather to prevent me from getting to the hotel. I have done everything that has been asked, and now looking for someone to please respond and provide me full refund, including the protection plan payment of $81.

    Because your agents don't identify as not actually Red Roof Inn employees I am not eligible for redipoints AND I believe I paid extra for the ability to cancel reservation...on 2 rooms, one for 7 days, one for 5 days. After comparing prices, we found that the actual cost of staying at the hotel was much cheaper than what we were charged through the booking service. When we approached the hotel management to resolve the issue, they were completely unhelpful and dismissive.     Even though there were no rooms Angelica did her best to accommodate my needs. And for that I do appreciate everything she did. I would highly recommend her services to any and everyone I know. She was polite and very sweet. I feel as if she really needs to move up in positions and a big raise

    I need to ask a couple of questions about my reservation and Alexandre was rude and short and before I could ask my next question he rudely hung up.     Essentially a scam site which claims discounts but over charges about 20% over official hotel site in our experience. Google search promotes this by pushing this sponsored site to the top of results. Clearly both don't consider service a priority.
