I called to book a reservation at Wine Stone Inn in downtown Orcutt. We have stayed there before and found it to be the best option around. I tried to make the reservation online but had trouble when I needed to book two different types of rooms. I called the hotel 800 number. Lisa answered the phone in under 30 seconds and was very helpful. She worked quickly to book my reservations. She explained everything very well and was friendly. It was a good experience.

I am trying to contact a Hilton in Harlingen Texas. Their phone number is not working. Jesmae went out of her way to help me try to get through. Another one of your reservationist hung up on me. Hotels need more than one number to get through.

I used Google maps looking for a motel in Joplin. I was connected to booking.com. It was a disaster. They were going to charge me $190 for a $120 room. And then my credit card was rejected. I then went to la Quinta online and was connected with an excellent agent who got us a room at the advertised rate, and helped me past the rejected credit card. He gave excellent service.

This whole thing was a lie! You answered like you were the HOTEL I was calling, which you are not. I wouldn't have booked through you if I was aware of this. I told you it was to be booked under a wedding party and the rate you quoted did sound right. You also told me it was refundable. You didn't say it was limited refundable. I'm paying double the price I would have been charged had I really been calling the hotel. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Manny was very helpful, very respectful (addressing me as Ms **) and answered all my questions. I was unsure of the time we would be checking in, as we had plans that might take us until 10pm or later. He reassured me there would be no problem. I had no issues at all.

Never ever ever in 20 years have we paid this much for a La Quinta room. We were charged more than twice as much. Not happy and will move away from La Quinta/Wyndham. Don’t like being gouged! Yes GOUGED!!! Bad bad bad! Rip off rip off rip off & you will deserve the loss in business over time treating good repeat customers this way. Bad bad bad. Treating committed customers that leave the room nearly cleaner than found is truly an INSULT. Ownership must have changed FOR THE WORST!

Updated on 11/18/2024: This is now my second review being created. This is in response to a very terrible experience with this service being offered. Not only was the service one of the WORST services I have ever attempted to utilize, but the customer service feedback response is equally as unresponsive. I have reached out to **@hotelplanner.com whom was originally assigned to help but have also not heard back from them in any capacity other than simply suggesting a refund. I was not provided any other information. I reached back out to this individual with any additional information and still nothing. This issue will be taking close to a month with no forward momentum here. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE.
Original Review: Hotelplanner has been by far the WORST service I have ever utilized. No one picks up your phone calls if you missed one of theirs. No one is responsive to emails because I have 2 emails that have gone without a single reply. I have voicemails that have gone to no one. I have even called back and had the issue escalated and still have not gotten so much as an apology from this service. I have not been able to connect with anyone since the first day I requested the service. I ended up paying more money for a room I booked that I had to contact the hotel directly for my group block to be created because Hotelplanner.com did NOTHING to help expedite or even remotely attempt at getting me a quote.
NOTHING from this experience was good nor is it a service I'd recommend to anyone. Just for a laugh - I got an email today stating "Hi Steve, can you please advise which hotel you confirmed for your event in Northbrook for 10/26/2024 - 10/27/2024? You may be eligible for the free hotel voucher – ask me more about it!". Only problem was my wedding was already on the 26th. I had no chance for a single hotel voucher and had to do everything myself WITHOUT this service.

I thought I had connected to the Best Western reservation site, not a third party. The agent I spoke with had a heavy accent which made understanding her more difficult. I was charged for cancellation insurance I did not need. I was making the reservation just a couple of hours before my arrival. My plans were NOT going to change. There was a further charge for some sort of service that supposedly would not be charged on my bill if I ignored the follow up. I have heard nothing more but I remain concerned that $40 will appear on my next bill and I will have no way of cancelling it.

Agent was very patient and helpful after I had TONS of problems with trying to make reservations using Rewards Points on the Wyndham website which NEVER works right. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is that the wait time to talk with someone was much too long than it should have been.

This is the most vile company ever. Do not use them. They canceled my reservation when I wrote to VISA to complain about them, and I am out $816.66 because of it. They are the worst. They lied, they ripped me off and then they stole my money.. I found out three days before I was leaving for our trip that they aren’t covering the cost of the hotel that I paid because they canceled a non refundable reservation. I didn’t cancel it. They canceled it.

I’m due to surgery Nov. 1st and needed a room. I spoke with a Booking agent named Christian **. I highly recommend this hotel and the agent because the hotel is close to the hospital for anyone needing early morning surgery and the agent was kind, polite, understanding and very professional. He also gave me the best rate possible for senior citizens. I rate my booking with him Two.

Our experience was a fantastic one with our Comfort Suites representative. Jennifer was a true professional and was very fast knowing we were on the road. Looking for the local Lodging in the area, she helped get us off the freeway and into the parking lot. As our phone was skipping and cell service was sketchy at best. Many new additions to the room! Having been technician for Holiday Inn, I notice things that need addressed. BJ came with me to my room and I pointed out a problem. I found a few more. The shower curtain support was cracked so it was sending water onto the new floor because the shower curtain sagged. Outside going to my truck there was cracked tile that was loose and could cause a fall. I was happy with my stay! I wish to make aware of problems that could cause a lawsuit to be filed.

I am a Federal Government Employee. I had a meeting I had to attain Olympia, WA. Jorge told me that there were no government rooms left. He only had 2 rooms available but not at gov. rate. I believed this swindler in booked the room. The money was taken out of my account immediately. I called back within an hour and said that I wanted to cancel. He said that I had waived cancellation. Cancellation was never mentioned and I DID NOT WAIVE ANYTHING. Somehow you will pay for this. I am a 75-year-old hard-working man and I cannot afford to lose $471.08. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and next going to the FBI.

I thought I was booking directly with hotel, however mistakenly booked through hotel planner. As a 3rd party agent they charge almost double the direct hotel rates. Then, add in a refund fee to cover any changes to reservation. When I called for a refund for unused nights, I was told no refunds for canceled nights. Pamela was understanding, patient and helpful with trying to get me a refund.

Everything was excellent. He spent so much time with me and we have the best price in the hotel he booked for us in a handicap room and discounts. I was trying to book a reservation at the Irma Hotel for the 4th of July but for some reason it was not processing so I called the reservation number. Kennedy had my reservation booked and confirmed in no time. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. I am thrilled to be staying at Buffalo Bill's Hotel for the 4th of July and just walk downstairs and watch the best 4th of July parade in the US. I can't thank Kennelyn enough.

An absolute ripoff. I thought I was calling directly to Quality Inn in Rock Springs, WY. In fact, the guy I spoke to, Edward, represented himself as an employee of the Quality Inn I was calling. It turns out Edward worked for the company that charged my credit card $126.08 for a room the front desk told me actually cost $77.24. They ripped me off with a $48.84 booking fee! That's 58% addition to the actual price. What a friggin’ RIPOFF!!! And you can’t get a hold of anyone to try and remedy the excessive booking fee. RIPOFF!!! RIPOFF!!! RIPOFF!!!

I was lied to by the person that booked the room. I was over charged by over $640 of what I was told the price would be. I was told that I was getting a king suit with a jacuzzi tube and the hotel informed me that they have not such room. Very angry and will never do business with this company again! They were totally fraudulent!

Tyler was very polite and quick… I could understand him perfectly and he was super nice! He was super quick and got my reservation made in a timely manner! Spoke with Honeylette over the phone for a reservation, I had a reservation with a different service which did not work out. Honeylette was able to get me a reservation for a hotel in under 10 minutes. Excellent work from Honeylette, would recommend to anyone in need of assistance finding a reservation!

I would say your biggest flaw is lack of communication with potential customers and website has too many bugs when trying to contact hotels. Your planners do not call or email the customer directly, and will send only a generic email stating of hotels in the area. I found it more helpful just finding your own hotel and reaching out to their management. Would not recommend this company as a tool to book hotels for events.

I had a very nice and thorough conversation with Christina on October 7 regarding the protection plan for my booking October 8. We discussed thoroughly, the possibility of me having to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather. (Hurricane Milton) at the possibility that I might not be able to get out of Naples. The booking was nonrefundable however I purchased the protection plan to guarantee a full refund.
I repeatedly asked if there would be any issue with my refund because I was genuinely concerned about the weather and the conditions. I am now doing battle with the protection plan company. I am very upset because I would never have booked a non-refundable hotel room if I didn’t have the option to get my money back under the circumstances. I am asking the hotel to stand by their word and the conversation that I had with Christina and reimburse me in full.
I understand the protection plan company is a separate entity however it is backed by the hotel so ultimately the hotel is responsible to stand by their word. I have provided documentation of dangerous and inclement weather to prevent me from getting to the hotel. I have done everything that has been asked, and now looking for someone to please respond and provide me full refund, including the protection plan payment of $81.

My phone call was answered immediately, and Sergio was very efficient in booking a room for me. I asked for a first floor room Comma Which he Accommodated. I highly recommend the Quality Inn in Gallipolis Ohio. We have stayed there many times. The rates are very reasonable, and a complimentary breakfast is served. Our waitress there always gives us outstanding service.

Very disappointed in the service. I don't recommend this service. They are very unprofessional. It's been three weeks. I haven't received my refund. They say I will speak to managers and I haven't spoke to one yet. It's been over the 3 weeks now. They are not doing their job. I never been through anything like this. It's the worst experience I had booking a room. They are a scam. They changed the date so I wouldn't get my refund back. I called all day.

Very patient. Not sure why price online less. I can't tell if this is a third party Interven and block me from Reaching the front desk of actual Hotel. 395.66 on phone. 360.00 online. Hampton needs to do better job. It's stressful asking if I'm talking to actual hotel. They just keep saying, "Yes sir reservation. Can I help you." I hope my rooms are there when go. Matter of fact I'm going to call the hotel later to make sure the hotel itself had a room for me.

Once completed received email confirmation and was surprised to see price was $100 over of what was stated on telephone. It included taxes and fees. Because your agents don't identify as not actually Red Roof Inn employees I am not eligible for redipoints AND I believe I paid extra for the ability to cancel reservation...on 2 rooms, one for 7 days, one for 5 days. I'm am VERY unhappy about this. It's really on you to make sure people understand that they are not talking to the hotel sites. This has happened to me before and I checked to try to avoid it again. I would like a refund of the extra charges.

“I had an extremely disappointing experience with this hotel. The booking system was deceptive and overcharged us significantly. After comparing prices, we found that the actual cost of staying at the hotel was much cheaper than what we were charged through the booking service. When we approached the hotel management to resolve the issue, they were completely unhelpful and dismissive. They claimed that the price increase was due to the Milton hurricane and the influx of evacuees. This felt like a poor excuse to take advantage of people in a vulnerable situation. I expected better service and integrity from a hospitality provider, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Beware of their unfair pricing practices.”

I am not even sure how I ended up with this customer service - I called the CORPORATE reservations number for Choice Hotels. My rep was very hard to understand, she spoke way too fast and displayed very little understanding of my concerns. I ended up being charged for extra stuff that, had I actually understood what she was saying, I would not have agreed to. Very suspect company and horrible experience.

Very disappointed as to how absolutely awful this hotel was! I was told that this hotel was newly renovated and had a beautiful room. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. I questioned what the star rating was and was told it’s a 3 star hotel and was assured that it wasn’t a motel. This certainly was no 3 star hotel. It was very much a motel. The whole place reeked of smoke odor. The lobby was disgusting and looked like they had some type of a structural problem. It was dingy, worn and smelled bad. The hotel room had no lock to get into the block of rooms we were assigned to.
The room itself didn’t feel safe and had to put a chair to keep the door locked and the window was open when we arrived to the room. The towels were seriously worn and the bedding was just horrible. We are a family of 3 and stayed in a two queen bed room. Just awful and certainly NOT worth the money we paid. We were certainly mislead and misinformed by the customer service representative that booked us over the phone. We booked it from our car while driving and had no access to the internet so we had to rely on the representative.

I called to book a reservation from who I thought was Holiday Inn. I asked them if had reached the actual Holiday Inn reservation number and not a third party booking company. I reiterated that over and over. Yet they outright LIED to me saying they were Holiday Inn and all bookings went through them. They then said the Holiday Inn I wanted was booked but they had another hotel that was comparable to Holiday Inn, and it was part of the same Hotel. Another LIE!! It was called Red Roof Inn.
We went to check in and found out it’s a motel, one of those dinky places you enter from outside. My husband has an injured foot and unable to walk up steps and there was a lot of steps. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I stayed in one without an elevator. I told the motel staff I didn’t want it. I left but now I can’t get a refund. There’s a number to call but you can’t talk to anyone. You have to punch in what you want but that wouldn’t take my info. I went on their website and that wouldn’t process my information either!! I’ve never seen such a rip off! Also, they sent me a message saying they charged me for a cancellation insurance of $109. That was never mentioned to me at all!! I would never have approved that. When calling to book a hotel, never trust you are getting the actual hotel. Pin them down and make sure they are the actual place you are calling.

Miss ** was so helpful this morning. I found a low rate on a third party site, she was able to get me an even lower rate. I had to book two rooms, she was able to get those rooms next door to one another. She’s delightful and personable and made booking a stay to attend a funeral easy and pleasant. She’s a keeper!

I accidentally made a booking and within an hour wanting to cancel my hotel because of real reviews I found online. The hotel is absolutely disgusting and unsafe and I wanted to cancel 20 minutes after booking. They told me because of the hotel's policy I wouldn't be able to get more than 49% of my money back. That is causing me to lose over $100 for no hotel at all. I feel scammed! I want to cancel this reservation and get a refund!

Do not use Hotel Planner. They falsely tell you they have the lowest rate and They do not allow cancellation even if you buy insurance. We found rates 20 percent lower after booking and they did not allow us to cancel. There was a hurricane warning and we applied for a refund through insurance we purchased from them. No surprise when it was denied from their office in Jalisco Mexico

I thought I was calling the hotel directly and now realize it was a third party that charged additional charges for the booking of the hotel. I was not made aware of the extra charges and they are hidden in the recovery fees. In the future, I will use the hotel’s website or app.

Great customer service and Room-rates were very competitive with Airport Location. The availability of Free Airport Shuttle was a major factor. The only negative was Not easy to find on the internet, although Google was helpful. The Hotel desk attendant was very informative and helpful, and seemed to go out of her way to help.

Alexandra was very professional and courteous. My only negative comment is that I tried to book online but became suspicious towards the end of the process for fraud. So I decided to book directly with the hotel with a representative. The price difference was over $100 more. I’m disappointed in the price difference but I did not have another choice to make.

I appreciated Michael Anthony's friendliness & willingness to find a hotel room within my strict budget. He did a great job with that, but when I asked if I was booking through a third-party, he just said he's at the reservation center for the American Suites. I found later that my payment was through Expedia. I was also surprised to learn that I was charged $25.26 for "Refund Protection" that I did not authorize. Michael did not inform me about this cost, I would've declined it because I was already in the parking lot of the hotel, when we were finishing the reservation. When Michael Anthony gave me the total amount owed, he said it was for the room, plus taxes & fees. (He knew I was trying to keep the costs as low as possible.) It seemed high to me, but I know that hotels often have high taxes & fees.
After a lot of hassle, (online request, a detailed email, and a couple phone calls) I was able to get that "Refund Protection Charge" refunded to me. This was not an ideal experience which soured me against 3rd-party reservations & Expedia. (If they hadn't issued my refund, I'd be determined never to use Expedia again, but, at least, I got my money back.) Otherwise, I would have rated Michael 5 stars. It's important to always explain exactly what the Customer is actually paying for… Transparency is key. Thanks to Michael for being pleasant & for finding me a room. I made reservations and was told that if I later changed and canceled I had to pay a fee of $61.48 to get my total refund returned. By the time I received the total cost of $784.73 my spouse found that he had another commitment and couldn't attend that weekend. I had to cancel. I did receive the $61.48+482.16 but -241.09 that I am missing which will complete the total refund.

The stay was acceptable. The location was good for park access and access to shopping and food in West Yellowstone. We would stay again. Parking was acceptable. Front desk support was helpful and friendly. Room was clean and the size was acceptable. Breakfast was acceptable. Gym was minimal. Hot tub jets did not work. Washer and dryer was utilized and worked well.

When I called to make reservation I specifically asked Nadia to confirm free shuttle to and from airport. With her confirmation I made the reservation. She gave the phone number er to hotel main desk and I called from airport. No shuttle. I would like to be refunded the cost of cab. $22 plus $4 tip, total $52 roundtrip.

This company and its CEO will not assist you if you have a refund due. We were told by a representative that we would receive a refund in 2 weeks. That didn’t happen. Do the second time. We received an email that we would receive the refund by ten days. That did not happen. I received a text that said I would receive the refund in 10 days. Their website that they send you too is bogus. No real phone number to call to speak to a person- it’s automated. I am going to file a police report and make a complaint with the FTC. I have filed a BBB complaint.

Consumer be aware! This company is not ethical! They told me at the time of booking that I would pay upon arrival. Two days later I had a $2000 charge on my credit card for a one day reservation and another charge for $19.40 for who knows what. When I called to dispute the charges Hotel Planner called the hotel and canceled my reservation. They kept all of the money and so far my credit card company is supporting them. This is absolutely disgusting! Be very aware of this company!!! When I originally Googled the number for the hotel direct the number for Hotel Planner came up disguised as the hotel. When I called the hotel they told me companies like Hotel Planner can redirect so that their number comes up as a hotel. I hope this makes sense. This company is absolutely unethical and a scam!!!!

He was short and very vague with his answers. And very rude. I did not realize I was talking to a third-party broker, I even asked him was this the actual Duke Lodge and he said it was, if I booked the hotel, it should be roughly $260, but through him it was 422.08 charged to my Discover card.

We received a hotel voucher ($220) for a future date, from an airline due to a canceled flight. We had to use hotel planner to claim the voucher. We used the voucher at Hotel 2 Suites in Elkhart IN on Sept 7-8, reserving a 2 queen bed room, paying $215.74. When we checked in we were told they only had a single king bedroom. This mix up was blamed on Hotel Planner because they didn't confirm availability at the time of reservation. We also learned we were overcharged for the room in the amount of $35.49. I'm less concerned about the $35 and more disturbed about not getting the room I reserved and prepaid for.

I called before check in to see if the hotel offered EV charging since I would be driving an electric vehicle. ** confirmed that the hotel does have EV charging parking. Upon check-in I discovered that was not true. The hotel does not offer Ev parking and I would’ve stayed elsewhere if ** had told me the truth.

I had a last minute requirement to stay at Ft Smith. I work with the fed govt and needed the govt rate. I called the first time and got a male rep that refused to help and said he couldn’t book anything at the govt rate. I called again and got Staci, she was friendly and enthusiastic about her job. She got me fixed up while the other rep was rude and short. If not for her I’d never spend a dime at any other Home2. If there were more like her I’d recommend Home2 to all my govt agency employees.

I found a room through Hotel Planner online back on August 13th for a emergency stay in Reno for August 14th to August 16th. I then found out that the agent did not quote me the real total for the stay. It was off by over 80 Dollars. I have been trying to get a refund ever since. The reservation was only in place for around one hour, yet I have been waiting on my refund for almost 3 weeks. Every time I call I get a new story or excuse. Do not use this company or any of the many names they use online. Expedia is better and was cheaper for the same reservation.

The representative I spoke with refused to break down the taxes and fees charges when I told him they were adding up to 50% of the room cost. He was very rude and unprofessional. When I advised I would book via the Hilton Honors app too I could see the breakdown he said “yeah, you do that” and hung up. He does not represent your company or product very well at all.

There were some discrepancies with my bedding. However the room was well equipped. The breakfast was wonderful and they did have a restaurant but it was understaffed. Our food was not delivered. We had to go get it. But for the changing of a hotel ownership there are well on their way. Zion was very helpful and understood everything that I wanted.

I thought I was going directly to the hotel site but somehow was switched to this site. The person answering the phone seemed knowledgeable about the area so I was not worried about getting the wrong number. They arranged the rooms I needed and talked me into insurance. They said I paid slightly extra for the rooms to include breakfast. When I got to the hotel I found out I had booked through a third party and the most expensive room, according to the hotel, was not paid for so I paid again. No breakfast for any of the 5 rooms I booked was included. I contacted Hotel Planner and they said they would look into it. No response since then. No refund for the room I had to pay twice for. No refund for the breakfast that was not included. They said I would have an answer within a few days. That was over two weeks ago.

Book thru the site because it was recommended. Waited a 2 weeks to receive my voucher number and then was double charge by the agent once voucher number was received. Tried numerous times to try to get management on the phone and never not once would they come. Business should not be this hard to conduct. By far the worst booking experience I have ever had.

I called for a reservation to the LOD Cook. Unfortunately they were full and the helpful reservationist was able to locate and make an alternative reservation. She was very helpful and courteous. A stress free experience. My travel was due to the death in the family and she was very compassionate.

Santos handled my request in a professional manner. Unfortunately, there was no availability at the location that I needed. Once Santos realized that, they tried very hard to find an alternate but the location was critical and we couldn't come up with a workable alternative. With that said he was very understanding and provided me a number directly to the desired location in case they had alternatives that he did not have access to. I was totally satisfied with how he handled the situation.

I got into town late for my function due to bad traffic. I was not able to look for a hotel until late in the evening. The front desk was open for a late hour walk-up reservation and I was able to get a room after 10:00pm. So thankful that I did not get stuck out in the cold.

Carlos ** was very helpful and kind in setting to my last minute booking at Comfort Inn near the Burbank airport. My flight was canceled and I needed a room when fee were available. It is a clean and comfortable hotel. Free shuttle to Burbank airport. I would stay here again.

I work for a hotel and have been getting guests lately who booked through this "company". The thing is, when they check in, they always complain about an exorbitant fee charged to them for an unknown reason, then they show me their receipt. That fee causes the guest to pay a lot more for their reservation than if they would have booked it directly with our hotel on our standard rate, so I know the charge the guest is being billed is bull.
I am now here reading these obviously faked positive 5 star reviews (likely all AI written due to the repeated use of certain phrases that normal humans rarely type in a review) of the company and losing my mind over how blatantly illegal this must be. They are charging predatory "recovery fee" charges to guests and not disclosing what the fee is for. Then when the freshly bamboozled guest tries to desperately get their money back after being robbed, the customer service people give them the runaround and keep them on hold. What gives? Why is this allowed to happen? Surely it is illegal to charge people these surprise fees? Consumer Affairs, y'all should be looking into this one.

I started the booking process with Trace, but had to take a funeral call. I called back and got Charlie. Both gentleman were very professional and helpful. Trace even attempted to call me back several times but I was on other line. I didn’t have to wait long before being connected to a real person which is rare these days!

I would have left zero stars if it was an option. Book a hotel on HotelPlanner website, actually I thought I was on hotel website, and after selecting a room I had to click on confirmation before they disclosed the nearly 50% of total reservation in taxes and fees. So I cancelled 2 min after making reservation, but was informed of a 25% cancellation fee. Do not use this service.

Customer service was excellent, she told me about a aaa rate and it ended up saving me a lot of money or I would have found another place to stay.! She was pleasant and upbeat and very accommodating. I called 'Super 8' Kerrville, TX. I was quoted one night for $172. Jessa, stated that the hotel was almost sold out. When I mentioned checking with Expedia, she said they could do no better. The Super 8 had plenty of rooms left at $70. I feel taken advantage of.

Updated on 08/17/2024: The hotel Venetian actually resolved the issue, no thanks to HotelPlanner, won’t use this again.
Original Review: I am writing to address a concerning issue regarding my recent hotel booking at the Venetian in Las Vegas. My reservation, which was confirmed on your platform, appears to have been canceled April 4th without my consent or prior notice. It also doesn’t say on my booking that it is cancelled and that I can clearly still see it on the website when looking up my confirmation number. When I contacted your customer service team, I was informed that while my booking still appears in your system, it cannot be reinstated, and I was instead offered a refund. I must stress that I do not wish to receive a refund. I expect the booking to be honored at the price I originally paid, and I request that my reservation be reinstated immediately.
Given that the booking was confirmed and the payment was processed, it is both my expectation and right that you uphold the terms of our agreement. If there has been an error on your part, I urge you to resolve this swiftly by ensuring that my room is secured at the Venetian at the agreed-upon rate. Then your team cancelled 3AM last night August 8th to back your asses and put in a refund which was REPEATEDLY not asked for. If reinstating my booking is truly not possible, I request a detailed written explanation as to why this is the case and a formal acknowledgment of the issue. Furthermore, I expect this matter to be escalated promptly to your management team to explore all possible resolutions.
