    I would strongly recommend not to rent from them. They use three names E-Z, Economy, and Jet Car rental. First sign that something is wrong is too late. They know as a tourist you are cornered and have no other option. They will lure you in with low prices and charge you extra for mandatory insurance and extra tax. If you are lucky this will be the extent of damage but in my case they told me that the bumper was damaged and I or my Credit card will. Odds are not in your favor.

    I was driving to Miami so I rented a car online from E-Z Rent-A-Car because of the cheap prices. I've never rented a car before. I was supposed to be renting one from another facility. One of the ladies pulled me over to the side and nobody took me to the car to show me where it was. It was in a different spot and I didn't have any idea of where to go. When a flight touches down, everybody got busy. Nobody had the time for any questions. It was, "Let's get it in. Let's get it out." I understand it's a business but I was so lost. You're in an airport parking garage and you see all these different names of car rentals. They were like, "It's number 13." Well, which number 13? There were two or four different of rows and you had to start clicking the button to find out where the car was. It was crazy.

    Then I got in a minivan which I thought what I had rented. We've already put our luggage in it, I put the key in it but it didn't turn. When I looked at the key itself, it said, "A red KIA." The minivan is definitely not a red KIA and the KIA wasn't even red. It was silver and it's the one that lit up. I guess that was it so we drove off. I don't think that's the norm. But otherwise we made it fine and we had a great time on our trip so that's all that matters.

    The renting process was easy except the part that I did not know the time of reservation which defaulted at 12:00 AM instead of me putting in the return and pick up time. I just thought I'd put in the date. Then my flight that time wasn't until 6:00 that evening. I was supposed to be back on that particular day but I was two hours late so I got charged for another whole day. It's probably my fault that it wasn't a very good experience with renting my first car. I should've looked at it more but I didn't know and that's okay. Live and learn.

    I work for our airline and I was trying to fly into Orlando. Unfortunately, that flight was booked so I had to fly into Fort Lauderdale and the only way to get to Orlando is to drive. Since I didn't have to have a major credit card, I went with E-Z Rent-A-Car and I had a really great experience placing my reservation at the airport.     His company has very poor service. I rented a car from them and they got the return date wrong. They are charging almost double the rental rate because of it. When I called they're customer no-service. I not only sat on hold for more than twenty minutes but they would not do anything for me.

    Very bad experience. Stay far away from this company. I received poor service and significant misinformation regarding their toll transponders in FL. They failed to disclose that FL tools no longer offer a cash option. And then told me it would be a $25 charge, and not $25/violation, and counseled me not to add the $9/day charge for the 4 days of rental, since that would be more than the $25 I would be charged. I received a charge of $113 for $13 in tolls. It is also very hard to contact them. BEWARE this company. They are low cost upfront and then ambush you from behind.

    After making sure the gas tank was full upon return, somehow they still managed to charge me for 2 1/2 gallons for $8.99 a gallon. There is no way that vehicle needed gas in it, I filled it up 5 miles from the airport. I called twice, and they were really rude about it. No refund.

    I needed to get around so I rented from E-Z because it's cheaper. The rep was really rude and didn’t tell me anything that was going on. I’ve been with my friends when they were renting cars and usually someone goes out and walks around the car with you, but he didn’t explain or do any of that. He only handed me paper and said, “There you go.” It's my first time to rent and my experience was terrible.

    Rented car 9:30 at night, drove car to hotel and next day to St. Pete Fl. Car was super in the rain all over the road, we didn't use the car after looking at the tires. On returning the car to Orlando airport the check in man told us that they should haven't rented this car to us and told us to see the manager at the rental desk... got a big sorry for that. THANK YOU. Also the mileage was written in at 37199 miles out when it was 38943 then on return miles 39336 - a difference of 1,744 mile on the out. Not to think that I drove this car any more that I had to being unsafe.

    I rented a vehicle from E-Z Rent-A-Car in Atlanta airport May 15th. I ask for free upgrade if she can. When I got the car look like she downgrade my car. Terrible car. We got strong smoke smell and car have a lot of scratch outside body (Kia Optima). Passenger side front seat someone place gum. My wife pants destroyed with that. Inside was not clean and trash was inside too. I told check people to get me a different vehicle but they said they can't do it. Not a friendly people working there. Attitude problems and not friendly? They force me get the gas paid in front $ 43.00. I didn't even use $ 10.00 gas.

    Rented a van & paid for it online @ Denver Airport. This is what happened: The 1st car the agent gave me was dirty, damaged w/ cigarette smell. The 2nd car he gave was a small SUV instead of the van I asked. Finally a 2nd agent got me a van, which she inspected before delivering to me. The GPS the 1st male agent gave me was not working. When I went inside to return and ask for explanation a 3rd agent took over & was very disrespectful. He then brought out 2 GPSes, but both didn't work. He had no replacement at all & I had to proceed w/ my trip without a GPS. Very poor service, disrespectful staff, uninformed agents & general don't care attitude. I will never do business w/ EZ again & will inform all my friends & relatives as well not to have any business w/ EZ.

    I needed to rent a car for business purposes as I was visiting one of our offices. I made my reservation online and E-Z Rent-A-Car was cheaper and had a lower rate. The rep was nice and kept on trying to get me to buy other stuff, which I didn’t want but that was fine. Everything went smoothly and there were no issues at all. The only thing that I was a little surprised at the very end was all the fees since I wasn’t aware that they were gonna be so high. I guess I didn’t look at it as closely as I should have. E-Z Rent-A-Car fees were a lot higher than a lot of the other companies that I had used during the one month I visited. But everything else was good.

    When you arrive at the airport, there are absolutely no indications as to where to find them. The information desk had a number for them, which they don't answer. Finally, someone thought a Comfort Inn shuttle would take you to them. They were right. Unfortunately, their lot was way off the airport site. If you don't want to spend an entire afternoon renting a car, this is the wrong place to reserve. When you arrive in their so-called office, they don't have your reservation. Then after 15 minutes, they say it was misfiled but actually recover it. The car you reserved is not the one you get and not even in the same class you reserved. Their explanation: this is our own classification! The employee at the desk is arrogant, unhelpful and has no clue what customer service is about.

    Now we get to the car, which was dirty on the inside and out, with markings on the windshield from what was obviously a GPS stuck on it for a very long time. The last driver was clearly a heavy smoker because the car smells like an ashtray. The worst part however, is when you come to return the car. The same rental clerk takes your contract, crumbles it, and throws it away in the trash behind him. The gesture alone tells you you're about to be screwed. The price of the rental has nothing to do with your reservation. The reservation itself is not only misleading but downright deceitful and false. In summary, they will rent you a dirty, smelly car for which you will wait a long time at a rate more expensive than the well know car rental companies all the while being treated like they never wanted your business in the first place.

    When I first tried to rent the car from the agency at RDU airport in Raleigh, NC, I could not get anybody on the phone. I had to call the 800 number with any questions and to reserve my car. When I picked up my car, I did not receive the car type that I requested. The car was very dirty and missing a hubcap. While driving, the car had a blowout due to a defective tire. We couldn't get anyone on the phone at the rental car agency at RDU and could not get anyone on the phone for roadside assistance. I had to drive with no spare tire for the remainder of the rental. I took pictures of the defective tire. I will never use your company again. I have made a report to the Better Business Bureau.

    I used E-Z in the past for years at different locations. The one supposedly in Los Angeles is not Los Angeles. When you're online and pick the LAX location, it doesn't say you're going to another city which is Inglewood and it's a very long ride on their shuttle. Once you get up to Inglewood, you experience additional taxes that you normally wouldn't get if you rented in the local L.A. airport area, which I'm familiar with and didn't realize it was that far out. Since it was so far out in another city and with those additional charges, I would rent the ones that are right on the street from the airport and it's more convenient.

    They also have very long lines of 20 people because they didn't have enough staff. The first car they gave me was not even clean. It had been washed and the inside was dirty. The initial agent, once they went into the car and I came back to tell them it wasn't satisfactory, wasn't there. I went back to the customer service counter and then ran into him as I started to get in line, as they pulled me up. The original agent went by so I said, "Oh, there he is. I'll go finish up with him". He said, "Oh, no. I'm at lunch now". So somebody else had to help me. That's how everything got confused with the different type of car. They had to cancel the initial order and had to redo it.

    The second car they gave me was fine and I didn't realize at the time that they had upgraded the car and changed the rate to premium while I'm there. I initially didn't rent a premium car as I drove out of the lot. Then I realized the car had not been serviced because it was only half a tank of gas. So I had to go back to the lot to show and have them indicate that there was a half-tank of gas.

    They also changed the time which I didn't catch. So instead of getting charged for a third day at what I had pre-reserved, I got a last-minute rate for a third day because I went into partial the other day and I knew I'd have three days of rental. I had to pay the full premium rate, with the half of what I had there. And then I said, "I'm just going to pay the extra $50 because it's not going to be worth all my effort and my time to go in and try to get that back." So that charged me an additional $50. First, I thought I was overcharged a hundred dollars. When I started looking at all the extra taxes that I'd get for going out to Inglewood as opposed to paying in the L.A. airport area, the difference came to a little bit more than $50. I thought, I'm not going to get back the taxes and the extra fees. And so overall, my experience has not been too good.

    I rented a vehicle from E-Z Rent-A-Car in Orlando. Returned it and got a receipt that I had returned it in proper working order. Then I arrive home to find a letter stating that there was damage to the vehicle's gas pedal. I know that I didn't damage it so I requested an investigation. They allegedly did an investigation still showing no proof that I did the damage and demanding payment. The only thing that they provided was an appraisal for the cost of replacing a gas pedal. They did not even show where they had actually replaced said gas pedal.

    A broken gas pedal would have been something that would have been noticeable when I first returned the car and they would have seen that upon the inspection when I returned the car had I caused the damage. However, I strongly wonder if they even had an actual broken gas pedal because they didn't produce anything saying that they actually replaced the gas pedal. They have no pictures on the said damage. Lastly they did the inspection after I returned it and signed off that everything was okay. I am constantly getting harassed by the company demanding payment. I have filed a report with the BBB today and warning anyone else so that they don't live this nightmare that I am currently going through. I will not be using them again in the future travels.

    I arrived at Toronto Airport on Saturday 4/16/16. I had made all my reservations for a 10 day trip. 6 being in my Timeshare 71 miles away. I printed everything out. Direction to E-Z included where you flew into, what level, what floor. Take the train, pick up courtesy phone...got so confused we started asking people. After parking garage, terminal, courtesy phone we ended up at the Shariton hotel following my boyfriend pushing the luggage buggy - a curb which my boyfriend somehow missed. I tripped over and shattered my elbow. We had to leave luggage at airport and went by ambulance to hospital. On finding out how bad it was I choose to let them operate.

    I call E-Z and explained where I was and could they send the car over to pick my BF up. Absolutely not. I said I was sending him with everything I printed: credit card, ID but he did not personally have a credit card and they said that he would not rent it to my bf. So he went and because he needed our luggage and even got a letter from the hospital and no they would no rent him the car. So it cost him 110$ round trip by taxi to pick up luggage.

    3 days later went to rent the car. Even with my paperwork they couldn't find my reservation. 84$ for 6 days. They said they would have to charge me the 6 days. Proof of Insurance - they don't take US insurance unless you have 1 million dollars coverage. I say "How much?" "24.95." I say "Go ahead." I rented car 3 days. Tells me 384$ charge me for 6 day. 84$ day + 24.95 a day for 6 days. Now I can't drive - only bf and charge me 10$ day for additional driver plus all the other fees. I was not told it was a daily fee for insurance. I told him I would make sure the Internet knew by night time how they rip you off. Here it is. Won't do business with them ever.

    When I was signing the agreement at Denver International Airport, the car rental front desk representative never initiatively asked me anything about any possible choices of the agreement. He also made mistakes on the tollway pass agreement, which made me very upset. I was overwhelmed by him when I signed the agreement and therefore missed the refueling charge on the agreement. The front desk representative also never brought to my attention that the refueling charge is ridiculously high.

    When I returned the car with un-refueled tank, the guy in charge of checking people out told me that I was good to go as soon as I stepped out of the car. I rnever got a chance to see my receipt until I left. I thought they were just gonna charge me for some processing fee on the refueling. No no no, I was changed 8.99 dollars/gallon for refueling! They are practically robbing me! I called the car rental company and they said since I signed the agreement, they would not do anything, then hung up on me immediately. All in all, this charge was due to the extremely unpleasant customer service of the car rental company. Will not rent from E-Z again.

    I rented a car from E-Z Rent-A-Car in January and I got them again when I went travelling in Florida. I made the reservation online and the process was pretty easy and very convenient. They did mention everything about their policy but I was wondering if they could be more flexible with the returning time for an hour.     Booked a car in Las Vegas for pick-up on April 12, 2016. Vehicle was supposed to be a "Ford Focus or Similar" (5 passenger). When we arrive they tried to force a "very" small Mitsubishi Mirage on us. When we complained that the vehicle was too small and nothing like advertised, the lady at the counter insisted that car was 'similar' to a Focus, and what I requested. I got tired of arguing, and went to Budget. EZ kept offering to 'Upgrade" for more money. I paid slightly more at Budget, but got what was promised. I would not have paid EZ the same amount I paid Budget because they lied. Liars can't be trusted.

    After deciding to rent a car for a four-day trip to Orlando, I picked E-Z because of the availability of a midsize for the value. When I landed in Orlando, the attendant was extremely rude and made me feel like an idiot for declining the insurance. He needs to be advised that my insurance would cover what I needed it for and I didn't need his insurance. Then, he gave me wrong directions to where I could get my car and we ended up on the wrong side of the airport. He also would not give me a midsize and said my reservation was for a compact when it definitely wasn't.

    After all of this, I finish the trip, FILL UP THE TANK ON MY OWN, and find an extra 40 dollars on my credit card a month later. They had charged me the gas fee even though I gave it back full. This was in December and I am still trying to get ahold of someone about it. They never answer and never return messages. I will never rent from them again. The only positive was the nice lady at the booth who helped me when we ended up on the wrong side of the airport.

    Please do not rent a car with this company. They are just thieves. They tell you a price when you going to rent a car and when you going to return it, you have a huge surprise with more than double of the original contract price.     Feel cheated by E-Z Rent-A-Car, which looks like is the same than Advantage. I made a reservation for 89$ and I ended paying more than 200$. In other car rentals web pages I used before they were more clear since the beginning, telling you about every fee and tax that is applied. In your case, I couldn't see the price of the insurance and in the airport it was quite more expensive than the ones I saw in other car rental companies, 28$ per day, when in others it is 9$ or 11$. Apart from that, the girl at the desk in Boston Logan Airport, didn't help with anything. I kept asking for different things and she didn't explain me them.

    The worst ripoff place ever. OMG I went online, reserved the cheapest vehicle. Total cost before I log off $69.00. Called to find out where to pick up from. They said in the airport. Drove for about an hour looking for the place. Finally went to another car rental place that told me exactly where it was! NOT in the airport... Went there, had to wait for another hour to get the car. They told me they were going to hold $200 for deposit and return it when I return the car. Got $113 back. Total cost of the car rental $155.74. $86.74 more than what I had planned for. All they said was "well, they are fees and taxes."     This is the worst rental car company I have ever used. The customer service is awful. The man that I dealt with at the Tampa office was extremely rude. And then started yelling at me in front of the several customers that were in the facility. My insurance company evidently sent him the wrong letter and he flew off the handle at me. I will never do business with them again. And I use a rental car at least 20 weeks a year. I have used them for the last 2 weeks and they have been rude every time. Today was the last straw. I'd rather pay a few dollars more to a different company than to ever give them another dollar.

    Stay away! When I first booked with them, I was quoted $188 for the week. Thought that was a great deal. I did not get any add-ons or insurance, just the car. First off - the service at the desk was horrible. They were slow and rude. I had booked a full size car and he asked if I wanted a Kia, I said I would prefer a Camry, but he then said all he had was a Kia. The car was a piece of junk. Once I returned it, I got my bill 2 days later and it was $100 more than what I was quoted! A bunch of hidden fees they never told me about before.

    Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM E-Z. Not only do they have horrendous customer service, but they will overcharge you hundreds of dollars from the amount you agreed upon and signed on. I have officially reached out to them 5 times for my refund and they have made a point to not respond to a single voicemail or e-mail. By the way, don't even try calling their customer care service line, you will be waiting on the phone for over an hour. The one time I got in touch with a customer service associate, he promised me he would share the mistake with his manager and get back to me within a few days...

    I have now been waiting for two weeks. It was my mistake renting from a company that is known for atrocious customer service and cars, but I was convinced by the sales associate promising me a competitive low rate. Little did I know I would be charged much more than the price for trusted and luxurious car rental companies. Please save yourself the money and the time and stay away from E-Z.

    I rented a car in December from E-Z Rent-A-Car. The car was returned on time and was signed off on by the E-Z Rent-A-Car employee. Approximately 1 month later, I received a bill for damage done to the windshield of the returned car. I contacted the company and explained that the car was returned undamaged and that I had 2 other witnesses in the car with me when it was returned. This company continues to harass me for payment regarding damage that was done to the car AFTER it was returned by me.

    Now looking at the reviews online, I can see that this is a common fraudulent practice performed by this company. This company deceives consumers by offering the lowest upfront rental prices and then tacks on charges either by scamming the consumers into purchasing unnecessary upgrades or by making fraudulent charges and claims after the vehicle is returned.

    It took forever to get my rental car from E-Z as I stood in line for over two hours. There were over 40 people in line with only three people working. The shuttle took forever too. Although, the shuttle driver was really nice and cool and the rep at the rental car place was too, but that was the only good part. The experience was horrible, and I see why they got all the bad ratings they have online. However, it was the only rental car place left at the time that I needed to travel because it was spring break. I considered it a little training for patience. I guess they don't have a better way of operating.

    I'm being charged for tolls that are not mine!! I rented a car at airport as I have done before. In Ft. Lauderdale. When I returned home I started getting all these charges to my credit card. I called everyday for week!! No one ever returned call. I emailed risk management, nothing! In email and in all voice mails I left details of my issue. I'm so disappointed that that completely ignored me. Never once has anyone called me back, return my emails - absolutely nothing.

    Today I'm still getting charges on my credit card for tolls that aren't mine. I've turned it over to American Express and they will get to the bottom of this problem.     I was quoted $186 for a car rental for the week. I had to add on a car seat which was $50. Told the man I had my own insurance and wanted nothing added. When I checked my credit card I was billed $391. I called and after 30 minute wait was told I initialed it so they are not going to do anything. Woman was very rude.     The absolute worst car rental I have ever had! The reservation I have made in their website is useless. Because when I arrived in Orlando on March 18th they informed me that they don't have the car/price reserved. Besides, in my opinion, the attendant was not honest with me only offering very expensive options and not being clear about the total amount bill. I have booked (**) a SFAR for $ 438.49 but at the end the final amount became $1,471.03! If they provide reservations and if they don't have reserved car, they should provide upgrade for free, and not offer abusive upgrades turning final amount to almost 3 times booking price.     I have been unsuccessful at speaking to someone regarding our car rental from March 2-5, 2016. No one has returned an email or phone call. I have contacted through Facebook, emailed through the website, emailed through my own email address, customer service phone number, roadside assistance phone number at both E-Z rental and Advantage. I would really appreciate someone reaching out to me regarding these issues. We were overcharged for an upgrade. The car smelled disgustingly like cigarette smoke. It was a new Toyota with old tires that were bald. We need a refund of the overcharge for the upgrade. This is the second time this has happened to us and the first time we were assured it wouldn't happen again.

    Terrible smell: As we were driving away from the airport we commented to each other that the car smelled like Febreze room refreshener, we did not smell the cigarette smoke. We drove to our destination and after a few hours came back out to the car to drive to lunch only to find that the car smelled terribly. The air freshener obviously was used to cover up the odor. There was a strong distinct odor of cigarettes. I immediately called the E-Z phone numbers and was not able to get through, the hold times were very long. I then called the roadside assistance number who advised they would make a note on our file but that they couldn't do anything for us, we would have to contact the actual location that rented us the car.

    We then called the airport location, several times only to get an answering machine. We left a message that was not returned at all. Again, the first day of our vacation was spent calling, being on hold, leaving messages, talking to representatives but no one able to assist us. The next day we again called in to the phone number and were told by a representative that they couldn't get through to the location either that we should probably just take the car back to the location. We explained we already had plans, this was such a short vacation, only renting the car from Wednesday morning to early Saturday morning and there was no time in our schedule for the long trips back and forth to the airport. We again called the location at the airport without getting a response. We were extremely aggravated again and the smell causing migraine headaches. This was never addressed and no return call was ever received.

    We also were OVERCHARGED on our billing. We had originally booked a Nissan Versa but when we got there the car was too small for us. The price for the Versa was $20 a day. We were upgraded to the Toyota Corolla which was a price of $21 per day. On our rental agreement the extra charge was $30, not $3 for three days as it should have been. We therefore were overcharged $27.00 and need this refunded to us. We were told we would have to address this with the billing department when they opened during the week, that they were closed on the weekend and nothing could be done for us. This car is dangerous as the tires are bald and when going around corners, making turns, you hear the tires, if it were raining out this could cause hydro-planing. If someone could please reach to us it would be greatly appreciated and we could supply all of the details. Thank you.

I was supposed to get a four-door car but when I got there, they said no, that I did it through Orbitz so, no. I didn’t get what I had been told I was going to get but E-Z took care of me. Returning the car was a little cumbersome though. Payless is where we were supposed to leave it but it was closed. We were so early in the morning and it took us a bit of time to figure it out.     When we went to pick up the car we had rented we decided to pay for the insurance after the agent (Mohammed) told us the price. He then tried to use all sorts of scare tactics to try to get us to buy the other add ons (prepaid gas, tolls, etc). After asking where we were traveling to he continued insisting that we needed to buy the toll package because the tolls were very confusing. We continued to decline and after leaving and driving to the hotel, we discovered we only had to pay about $4 in tolls round trip, and the toll package he was trying to sell us would've cost $25. Mohammed also told us that we could make changes to the billing if we wanted when we returned from our trip.

    Once we got to our hotel we realized that we had been charged a different amount for the insurance than what Mohammed had told us it would cost. I called the company to dispute the charge and was yelled at by the manager (Nader) and told that I was a liar. He also said that because I signed the paperwork, there was nothing they could do. I realized I signed the papers, but I was also told I could change the billing after the trip. I would also think that since I had been overcharged they would be able to fix the problem. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced and will never be using this company again.

    After seeing "FREE CANCELLATIONS" and reading all of the TAMPA locations policies (many pages) I went ahead and set up a reservation on January 17th, 2016 for a late February trip. Less than 24 hours later on January 18th I had to cancel the rental. My card was billed for $412.62 and I only received a credit of $362.62 - missing $50! I've spent hours trying to talk to someone about their "Free Cancellation"? A day or two later I got the name of the person to contact - a Nicole **. She gave me a link to a JACKSONVILLE site not the TAMPA site (rental policies vary with location). Nowhere on the TAMPA site is there a mention of a cancellation fee. E-Z was not deprived of a rental nor was I a "no show". After the second email exchange she stopped responding. This is NOT how you handle a customer problem. The only loser was me. EZ MONEY for them.

    The people I had to deal with at EZ when I rented on 3/7/2016 are absolute liars. If they shake your hand, count your fingers after. I made a pre-paid booking, went to pick up my car, and after 15 minutes of their scare tactics trying to sell me insurance, toll, prepaid gas and anything else you can think of, the agent (AHMAD), asked me to sign a contract. The charge was higher than the reservation amount. When I questioned him, he said it was just a deposit in case I returned it late. I returned the car on time, but sure enough they charged my card for an extra $52. When I called, I was told that I had signed the contract, and I should have read the fine print. If they managed to get me, a seasoned business traveler, I feel sorry for the tourists that rent from this place. They must be getting fleeced!!!

    I was on vacation in Florida and knew that I was going to need a rental car to go from place to place. E-Z Rent-A-Car's rates were less expensive. I made the reservation on the phone, and asked them if they had a dealership at Orlando Airport, of which they said yes. We then discussed the kind of car that I wanted, and then about the fact that I needed to leave the car in Orlando and they told me it was a $75 dropping fee.

    When I came into the airport to pick up the car, I had wanted to prepay for the gas but when I got into the car, I noticed that it was not totally filled with gas, and that mess took an extra half hour. There was a bit of a language barrier too. I paid $23 and I would be shocked if they didn't put any more of the equivalent of $6 gas in, so that didn't make me happy either. Nevertheless, once I got the car, that was fine. Dropping it off on the other end was perfect too. It was a challenging experience for me.

    I recently rented a car from Advantage or E-Z Rent-A-Car. After a long day of traveling I went to pick up my car. The worker who gave me the keys said he checked out the car and it looked great and to look it over but don't come back to the desk or mark anything on the sheet unless it was major. Never said what major was. When I went to put my stuff in the trunk I noticed a scratch. The person I was with also noticed it too. I would guess that the guy who said the car checked out would notice it as well so there is no way that would be considered major. I should have done a better job inspecting the vehicle and put every mark and issue on the sheet. I was lazy and tired. My mistake.

    When I brought the car back of course the worker checking in the car found the scratch that I saw on the first day but also found a cracked bumper in the front that you would only notice if you bent over and really looked for it. Was that crack there on that first day? I don't think that it was but can't prove it because I did not take my time and inspect the vehicle. I didn't hit anything and it was in a spot where you can't see it unless you bend over. When I was waiting to fill out a damage report I heard the same guy telling other renters don't worry unless it's something major. No one asked what was major either. When you rent a vehicle take the time to inspect it and don't be afraid to put a lot of marks on the sheet. The worker will be annoyed and they have to get up and actually look at the car. Also take video and/or pictures with your phone of any scratches, dents, or any other damage you see no matter how small.

    I flew into Houston Hobby and found it difficult to use your service because there were not any signs. The shuttle that picked us up was not the name "Advantage" which was the company we rented from, nor did it come through the space that the other shuttles did from your competitors. It drove us to the location to rent the car, and there was no clear sign about where to go.

    Later, when I had to return the car, the location for the return was not the same place as the other rental cars so I couldn't find it! There was no local phone number printed on the ticket or rental agreement, just 1-800 numbers, so I couldn't call for instructions. I wound up pulling up in front of the passenger pick up, putting the car in park and running inside to the Advantage counter to ask where I could return the car.     The E-Z Rent-A-Car lady at the front desk was trying to upsell me like crazy which annoyed me badly. I was supposed to get a Toyota Camry but she kept trying to upsell me to a Corvette and then to a Land Rover, and I was like "No, ma'am. Give me the Camry". Then she finally asked me if I wanted a jeep and I said "Fine. Just give me the jeep", which we got charged an extra $150 for. She was trying to upsell me to the unlimited toll package as well. The way it seemed at first was that whatever tolls we went through, we would pay for it with a credit card on file. Then when I read the fine print, they were in fact, trying to charge us $6.95 per day to go through as many tolls as we needed to, but she knew I only needed to go through two tolls each way. They were trying to charge me $35 more for $4 in tolls. But basically, we were fine with most of it.

First of all, he was late. Secondly, he told me that they sold out of cars, so he took me to the other place and the price was significantly higher, close to $200. But I already had something in writing that it was gonna be $103, so I've been meaning to call Dollar and get this straightened out. The driver took me straight over there so I kinda think that they were in cahoots in some kind of a bait-and-switch scam. I was told by staff from E-Z Rent-A-Car that they would match my $99 price from 2/29-3/6 drop off at fort Myers.     I had won a trip to the DAYTONA 500 and I was given a gift card to rent a car. They called Avis and got the rates, but they failed to book it. So when I went there, all they had were Corvettes and eight-passenger vans. The rates weren't what they said they were and were four or five times the rate that they gave me on the phone. So we went down to E-Z Rent-a-Car and they comped what Avis should have comped, and was taken care of without any problems.

    The representative was real helpful. I brought the car back in and the lady took the keys that we left at the car. She was knowledgeable about what she had to do. Then I went back to the counter and paid the rental. They were courteous, friendly and did a great job. I was well-pleased. They could've done whatever they want to during that week, but they didn't gouge anybody.

    I booked my trip through Expedia, and was quoted a rate of $76.56. Our final bill? $362.10. That is almost FIVES TIMES the quoted rate. When we checked into SJU, our sales rep rushed through everything (while simultaneously speaking on his cell phone) and gave us no opportunity to question anything. We were charged various costs that I know were completely unnecessary. We also still have not received the $250 hold fee, despite returning the car over 3 days ago.     I was really upset with the rental that I got from E-Z Rent-A-Car. When we arrived I asked for the SUV that I had ordered through CarRentals.com and the guy told me that the only option he had was a minivan. I told him that I didn't want a minivan and that I had ordered an SUV. He told me that I didn't have any options unless I wanted to upgrade to a large SUV. I said to him that if he only has a large SUV he should give me that because I booked an SUV not a minivan. He told me that he wouldn't do it without an extra charge. Then I asked to speak with a manager and miraculously they had a regular SUV that they were able to give me. They literally were lying to me to try and upsell me instead of giving me what I booked.

    I registered my car online and the bill came out to $76.29, however when I actually picked my car up my total came to $136. I understand that there can be extra costs, but I don't understand why it would be double especially when it said $76.29 was due on pickup. Then I returned the car on Friday and I'm going over my emails Monday and come to find out they charged me an extra $250 (I'm assuming it was a smoking fee). But I didn't smoke in the vehicle, don't smoke in general, and break out horribly if I do. Never using E-Z again, back to Budget I go.

    We booked with E-Z Rent-A-Car in December because they advertised the lowest rate. When we went to pick up the reserved online rental car, the sales lady employed by E-Z Rent-A-Car told us that in addition to the car rental rate, she was going to charge us $200.00 as a deposit. She said as long as the car was returned without damages then we would get our $200.00 credited back to our account. We returned the rental car in tip top shape and E-Z Rent-A-Car never credited our credit card the $200.00. They have the worst customer service and don't respond to phone calls or emails.     Arrived Orlando, FL about 10:30 am and picked up car. Took about an hour. Only given 1 key. Drove about 20 miles. Stopped at Denny's. Temp. much higher than Cleveland. Took off coat, put it in trunk (key in pocket). After lunch, came out and couldn't get into car. Called E-Z but line's busy. (Hoped to have family pick up a spare key when they arrived in afternoon).

    Finally called Nissan dealer. Trunk could not be opened from back seat. Said to tow it to dealer. Finally got through to E-Z repair. (Rental line still busy. Now about 3:00 pm.) Suggested towing. Denny's employee suggested locksmith. Sent out man who spent about 1/2 hr. checking access from back seat. Gave up. Called office. Sent out van with drawers full of blanks. Made a key, opened the trunk, and charged $190. Rest of the trip was fine. Should have spent the extra $5.00/day for upgrade car, or picked anything but a Nissan. Sad that I couldn't get through to E-Z on phone. I thought I could take a taxi back to airport to get a spare key (if they had one).

    I got a nail in my tire that caused a flat within the Las Vegas airport. It was fixed through my membership in AAA. I had questions for EZ: should I return the auto early with a spare tire, fix the nail hole myself, or drive on the spare from Friday, January 22 until Tuesday, January 26? Fifty-eight calls over 24 hours went to voice mail. Your phone line gives 6 options. Each option asks the customer to leave their name and phone number. They promise to call back. I left 20 messages. My calls were never returned.

    I wrote to the BBB and included my cell phone bill documenting my 59 calls. It took 58 calls to reach the Las Vegas desk Manager. She promised me 2 free days of rentals, a tank of gas, an upgrade, and no charge to repair the tire's nail hole. These things were to be given to me because EZ did not answer their phones or return calls. She did not award these for any other reason.

    Three hours after having been made these promises I drove to McCarran airport expecting to get an exchange and upgrade. The Return Manager refused to call upstairs to the Desk Manager to verify my expectations. She stated that "We (two managers) have equal positions." She insisted that I had to pay $100 to plug the nail hole. She implied that there were notes from the Desk Manager on the computer concerning a free upgrade, gas, and two free days. I could not see the screen nor was I offered a printout. I insisted that I was told there would be no charge for the tire. I was furious that she would not call the other manager/desk to verify my claims. Because I was angry, she closed my account and refused to give me the promised two free days, gas, and upgrade.

    This returns manager stated to your Consumer Relations person that I disrespected her and was uncooperative. She claims that I refused to sign an incident report. As you can see I have no qualms about writing and would have been glad to fill out an incident report. She also claimed when called by Orlando Customer Relations that there was an emblem missing. Don't you wonder why she did not charge me for it, or mention it?

    I wrote to the BBB. E-Z Consumer Relations' response E-Z consistently not answering their phones was that it was "unfortunate". Your Orlando Consumer Relations agent never spoke to the desk manager who made the promises. She spoke only to the Returns Manager. The Returns Manager insisted that I pay $100 to plug a tire. I was very angry that I was not given what the Desk Manager had promised. The returns manager refused to call the desk manager. In addition to not answering your phones or returning messages, one manager refused to pick up the phone and call another manager within the same building. On Sunday, Jan 24 and Monday January 25 at 7 am I did get live agents. I left a message for the Desk Manager by name and asked for a return call. She never called back.

    E-Z Rent-A-Car has a very serious problem concerning communication with your customers and managers refusing to communicate with another manager within the same building. Do you think that fifty-eight unanswered phone calls and twenty unreturned messages is acceptable business practice? I have been a long time customer. I have never had any occasion to complain or call your company. None of all this unpleasantness would have occurred if you answered your phones at a reasonable rate, even fifty percent of the time would be a drastic improvement! At the very least, do not appease already frustrated customers by asking for their name/phone and promising to call back. In practice E-Z does not return any calls. The consequences were that I had to pay $100 to plug a nail hole, and $160 to rent a car for two days.

    Today 02/21/2016 I rented a car from RDU Morrisville NC. I made a common mistake of saving a buck vs. other rental companies that I have been renting from like Enterprise, like Alamo, like Budget even companies like Dollar rental center for many years. Instead of saving a dollar, I ended up paying $22.00 more and forced to buy insurance I didn't need. I have full coverage on my personal car. It covers all rental cars but they don't care. If I didn't buy added insurance from EZ rental, I wouldn't have car to get to my destination. They want to squeeze every dollar they can out of customer.

    Since I was stuck at that location, I had no choice but to pay for whatever they wanted to charge me. I have the car, I will return it tomorrow but I'll never return back to EZ rental or Advantage Rental again in my life and I'll discourage everyone in this world not to do business with EZ rental and Advantage Rental. Only Advantage Rental is for this scamming company to suck money out of the customer when they are stuck at the Airport. The black guy was with Nasty attitude, black hair woman from Rocky Mount was nice and accommodating. But at the end of the day, It was not pleasant experience. Very disappointed customer urges everyone to read the fine print and put these blood sucking leeches out of business.

    First, we waited 30 minutes for the E-Z car shuttle at the airport. Every other car company's shuttle passed by at least 5 times. I finally called them and they rudely said they were on the way and hung up on me. When we got to the rental office, there was one person at the desk. I waited in line while he helped a customer for over 25 minutes. Finally, another employee came over and started to help me. After he started helping me, he had a problem with the computer and could not complete my transaction. After over an hour at the counter, he tried to give me a compact car when I already paid for an SUV. The workers were rude, unapologetic, and condescending. They did not seem to care about the customers and proceeded to tell me that they are cheap for a reason. The worker also complained that he is underpaid and overworked. His excuse for the poor shuttle service was that his drivers drive the speed limit.

    I paid for two upgrades so as to not have to drive a Toyota Prius. When I left the website, I had reserved a Toyota Corolla. When I arrived at the airport, I filled out the paperwork, which read, Toyota Corolla. I purchased the full gas tank plan knowing I was driving a Corolla. The woman at the counter said it was a Corolla. When I went to the garage to get the car, they gave me a Prius. I asked about the Corolla and they explained all they had was the Prius or a minivan.

    I had reserved a mid-size car as I was traveling to assist a parent that just had open heart surgery and I wanted them to be comfortable and not have to ride in their minivan.     I chose E-Z Rent-A-Car for the cost. I rented the car out of Orlando and did not buy a transponder from E-Z which was at $8 a day. I can understand the convenience of a transponder but it was not worth $8 a day to me. I was going to stand in line and pay the tolls in cash. I was going to be in the Orlando area for the week and decided to go down into Miami. I then found out that I couldn't pay tolls with cash in Miami. I have since gotten contacted by somebody regarding tolls that I allegedly owe but when I got back to Orlando, I bought that transponder package for the Prius that I rented which should have taken care of all my tolls but still got a bill from somebody on tolls that are still allegedly owed. For that reason, I would not rent from E-Z ever again. I'm not sure why they would charge that much per day for a transponder which I don't need in Orlando, only to find out that I did need it in Miami.

    After reading all the other reviews about this company I feel relieved that I was only in fear of losing mine and my wife's life in my tragedy. I won't bore you with all the small stuff but jump right to the real story. I was on interstate 215 in Henderson Nevada heading for Freed's Bakery when I am supposing the computer died and the car shut down. The vehicle slowed down to a crawl and would not accelerate. Luckily for us traffic at this point was not that bad so I coasted over to the shoulder and took the first exit I came to and slowly crawled to the first available place I could pull over and park to call for assistance.

    After being towed back to E-Z to end our vacation 4 hours early, there was no remorse shown by the agent at all.     E-Z Rent-A-Car provide good service, easy to work with and by far, have the best rates. I hope they keep it that way. I go to AutoSlash to make my online reservation so it takes a few days, but it was okay. I rented a car in December. After I left the airport, I noticed that there was a problem with the transmission of that car. It was not shifting well. There was a lot of traffic, I was already off the airport and in a hurry, but I made it back to my home.

    I called them later that day, and I had a bit of a problem getting through to that particular desk. That was the only hassle. They need to provide a direct number of where we get our car. I can be a little demanding because I'm paying the bill. I have to go through a maze but I finally got to the desk where I rented it from, spoke to them and told them what the problem was. They told me to bring the car back, and they'll give me a new car. I made it back to the airport, though it was a hassle with a lot of traffic. The wait in line was not long, and the two ladies who were there are very nice. I told them what the problem was and asked them if they can give me the same type of a car because I like it. As soon as I told them what it was, they said, "Oh yeah. We have problems with those cars all the time."

    It's a hatchback of the Ford Focus and they said because there are so many drivers, they race it a lot with those cars and the transmissions go at about 30,000 miles. They knew there was a problem. They didn't know it was going to happen, but they gave me another car of the same type and I was off. That was very nice, and I rented from them a couple of other times. Overall, the experience was very good.

    Got to the counter at E-Z. After waiting approx 10 min to be told they did not have the mid size car we had rented. After them calling to the other side of the airport in Orlando, the representative tells us they just don't answer the phone this time of the day. He tells us we can have a Jeep Patriot for an extra $5.00 dollars per day. I say no as that will be an extra $70.00. He just kept trying to get them to answer the phone. He now tells us that we will have to wait several hours for a midsize car to be returned on this side of the airport. I still say no I just want the car I reserved.

    Finally after about 45 min. of them trying to get an E-Z car rep to pick up the phone I told him I would take it but don't think I should pay the upgrade fee. He told us that he has to put it on there and while we are renting it we can call them for them to take it off. I tried calling 5 times and emailing twice. With no return call or email. I finally got a customer service rep to answer the phone on the day I needed to return the car hoping to get the issue resolved before I had to return it. I was told after over an hour on hold and being transferred 3 times, I would get an email in 10 confirming the refund. NO EMAIL or CALL.

    Went to the return area was told to go the regular counter, Talked to a lady who told us she had to close the car rental gave us the business card of the manager and said he would call. NO CALL, NO ANSWER to the number on the card. HUMMMM I have rented from them for over 10 years with never this much of an issue. I will never use them again. I do not recommend them to anyone. So much for them being E-Z / Advantage. Good luck if you need any type of customer service with this particular company.

    This was probably the worst car rental experience I went through. First, I was told I needed Kiosk ez toll on a travel from Naples to ST Petersburg Fl (you can pay the toll at a booth $1.25) and was charged 27,96 for three days. I did not need it. As soon as we got into the car my wife reminded me we didn't need the ez toll so I called to leave a message to request a refund and never got a return call from the customer service dept. The customer representative at the office told me she would refund the amount once she discusses it with a manager and never did. There is no manager on site.

    Next, upon returning the car I was charged for an extra day after I already paid in my original booking for the three days and an extra 2 hours. Finally I placed calls to the 800 number every day and did not receive one answer to address these issues. I finally found a customer service number and was on hold for over 30 minutes, never getting to a real person. I will never use E-Z Rent-A-Car again.

    I was happy to walk up to the counter and be taken care of quickly. I read some reviews that concerned me when making the reservation, but I still went forward. The car had a warning light and two tires that low on air. When I told the person giving me the car, he told me to come back if I had problems instead of finding me a replacement right then. So I had to find an air station and fill the tires myself. It wasn't like it was just barely low either. One time was 19psi and the other was 21psi and the recommended psi was 32 or something. So both tires were way low. The car worked well enough though. I returned the car and got charged what I expected. The car was on the rental car location that every other car rental place is at in Dallas, so to me, even with the issue, I would rent again. However, I'd like to see them take a little more pride in delivering a car that was in decent shape to drive out of there.

    Arrival: Waited over 50 mins for a shuttle in 12-degree weather. Called multiple times to the office. No one answers. Their answering machine is full and it hangs up on you. 42 calls later I got a person who said the driver was on a break. Finally got a pickup. Arrived to a line of 6 people with one rep who ignored the phone ringing nonstop. Both shuttles were there and drivers having sodas and not helping. Finally got my car. It had no floor mats and no one knew there wasn't mats or they weren't needed.

    Returning: I arrived to a line of 7 people. One representative. No one outside to check in the car.     I reserved a Camry and confirmed by phone that I had a car and was coming in 1 hour late. When I got to the desk all cars were gone except one, a Mustang convertible. I was forced to pay a big upgrade to get this car because they didn't have anything else. The price difference was close to 100.00 more. I could not fit into this car comfortably, so I hardly used it. I took a cab most places costing me even more.

    I don't think I will ever use E=Z or Advantage again. I can understand not having the exact model and having to give me what you had but charging more for a convertible in January when it was so cold is just usury to me. I think I should get a refund for the whole thing as I was too big to fit in this car. I would not have taken it but I was under the assumption that I had to have a car for business. The 56 miles I drove in a week were torture. How do you justify the extra charges? And the car smelled like smoke when I took it out. I will be interested if you respond to this if you have the character to respond at all.     Upon arrival there were no cars left. After waiting several hours and having one employee actually walk off the job, a manager helped the customers find some cars. When it was my turn in line, she told me the only thing that was available was a 12-passenger Econovan or a Corvette. I ended up paying triple of what I was going to pay to be able to leave the airport that night. I will be taking this up with American Express (who I booked through) and would never recommend or use E-Z Rent-A-Car again.

    I want to leave here a reclamation against misleading behavior from AAdvantage. First, they made me sign an agreement were I was charged Supplemental Liability Insurance for $17.99 a day, which I found later that was not necessary, because AAdvantage functionary told us that was mandatory for all AAdvantage car renting. Too late for refunding, it seems, because they made me sign an agreement on this. This clearly was dishonest behavior, which in addition came to change the previous reserve with CarRentals.com and E-Z Rent-a-Car (reserve n. **), as I understood from CarRentals.com emails.

    In the next day, I even try to show a AAdvantage functionary that I did not need another Collision Insurance, as it is explained in the end of the CarRentals reserve email, but nothing was made by the functionary to update my reserve and correcting this first abuse. Second, when one rents a GPS, for the expensive amount of $41.97, one has to accept the optional service of the Roadside Service Plan for $4.99 a day, another charge I considered being totally abusive. It would be better to buy a new GPS

    Thirdly, in the end, the daily rate was also changed, in complete bad faith. From daily rate $11.10/day, I was charged by Advantage $36.00/day. Luckily, in the meanwhile, it was refunded after CarRentals.com diligence, and long exchange of emails. Last but not the least, and absolutely hilarious, three months after, and without any communication, absolutely no proof or receipt, they charged my credit card with new expenses, something around 455,5 dollars. I write again to them and they simply answer that this charges were from toll road violations because I supposedly took toll roads and did not purchase a toll pass.

    One of them is in fact a monthly charge of 75 dollars for the next 5 months, which gives a total charge of something around 375 dollars for going from Denver Int. Airport to the Rocky Mountains, Grand Lake and the Red Mountains, within the period of three days on the road. My demand was simple: Where is the invoice of those tolls? There was absolutely nothing, no communication, and they were already charging us abusively!! Of course I demanded proof and they did never answer it.

    If you have all day to wait around for a vehicle, then this is your place! Rinky dink outfit working out of a hotel near the airport. I will give one star for the employees as untrained or poorly dressed as they were some credit for putting up with all the irate renters ahead of me. Sadly enough, it was self-induced. The cars are pieces of crap and don't expect to get what you reserved. I will gladly spend $20-30 more per day on a real and safe vehicle than those pieces of junk. P.S. expect to wait at the airport 5x longer for a shuttle bus than you normally would with a national rental car company. Adios.

    Upon renting the car at the airport and going into the city, lights came on the dash. The book was missing from the glove box. Figured out the one light was low tire pressure, never figured out what the other meant. Went to a gas station and checked the pressure...on right side, one had 90+ lbs and the other 16 lbs. Corrected the tire pressure and headed 5 hours south to Grand Canyon. Lost tire pressure on the way, stopped and got air again, and the third time went to a repair shop. These guys were great. Took one look at the tire, and explained that by the scarring on the tire, it had been driven flat. He said it was unsafe to drive and could not believe a rental car company would let this car go out.

    I called E-Z rental many times, they would either not answer, or hang up on me. Finally after 3 hours I got another car (I was 1/2 hour from the airport). When vac was over and I returned the replacement car, the agent was over-the-top rude. I have spent 40 years in Human Resources, and this office at Las Vegas airport without question is the worst customer service group I have ever dealt with. I WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER RENT FROM E-Z CAR RENTAL AGAIN.

    They charged me for the full tank of gas in the car $36.08 and then charged me 8.99 per gallon for the gas it needed when I returned it. They tell me they can't do anything for me coz I signed the paperwork to agree to it. Who the hell would approve that scam? The salesman told me that I can bring it back not filled and they will charge me $2.00 per gallon. He said that would save me coz you can't get gas in Florida for under 2 bucks. I did not see 1 station that charged more than $1.79. They also overcharged me for the car rate that I had a confirmation for.

    I should have looked at the billion complaints and all the Better Business Bureau complaints against E-Z and Advantage. They are the same lousy company. Don't get screwed like I did. I could go on & on but you get the basic of this company. Stay away!!! When you call to try to resolve this the first time after waiting for a very long time on hold they hung up. Next call took 21 minutes for an answer. Now I have been on hold at a different # for 34 minutes. When asked to talk with a boss the customer service girl said they are all in meetings. I said I would hold for one of them or let me speak to anyone above customer service rep. She said there aren't anyone there that can help. BS. Still trying and still very upset. I hope they call me back before I go to the Attorney General.

Now we have a credit card statement with a charge of 613.50 CA.     I should have known better when I needed to upgrade my vehicle and every phone number online was incorrect for this company. Finally, when I found the right phone number, no one would answer. Or an unprofessional voicemail would come on saying they would call back within 24 hours. No one ever returned a call. When we pulled up to the address that is listed online, we saw a trailer. Only for a parking lot attendant to tell us that this place has moved locations a few blocks down the road. Reservations were already set for this vehicle, but for some reason, when we came to pick up, we waited for what seemed an awfully long time.

    Their "best car" and biggest car was an average SUV. My total over the phone reservation was $220.00. I walked out spending $640.00. Not only was there a significant extra charge to add a couple extra drivers on my vehicle, they never mentioned the total price including taxes and fees for extra insurance. A few minutes later, I go to use my debit card at a store and Bank of America had blocked my card for fraudulent activity. WHY? Because EZ charged my card 4 different times in different amounts all in the 600 dollar range. Everywhere else I have rented quotes you the total, not the base price of the vehicle.

    Our car was filthy with cigarette burns. We had to ask the front desk to mark down all of the scratches on the vehicle, since they obviously were incapable. We got stuck on our trip a little longer than expected, so needed the vehicle longer. Surprise surprise - we couldn't get in touch with EZ. Maybe it's because they can't choose a name for their company? Why Advantage SLASH EZ? Choose one or the other. Finally we returned the car only to find out that there was $400.00 and change worth of more "fees". Unfortunately we got in an accident in our car and the paperwork filling process was so intense that if I would have filled it out there, I would have missed my flight. Staff isn't very friendly or worried about speed. Definitely use a more well-known and reputable car rental company and save yourself the time, money and hassle. Thank you.

    I got a rental car, a Kia Forte, and in less than 24 hours I got a flat tire. Checked the trunk and found no spare tire, called the company. They took about 35 minutes to answer my phone call and they said Kia Forte doesn't come with a spare tire and they couldn't do anything for me and I was going to have to call a towing truck and bring it to them at the airport for them to switch my car. Of course, when I went to rent the car nobody told me there was no spare in the truck. My question is it legal to rent a car without a spare tire??? Because this is clearly a SAFETY HAZARD.     I made a reservation online for December 17th - Jan. 4th for the total amount of $449.85 for the location at Carolina (San Juan) PR. They do not provide you with a detail bill, not until you return the car and that's when you see all the hidden charges and fees. Once I got there they kept adding things like mandatory one time $10.00 fee for auto express (ez pass) and $7.00 daily charge & taxes fees. My bill was $711.29 (at least that's what the person on the phone told me when I questioned the 1,011.29 hold on my AE card the day after). $300.00 deposit and $711.29 for the rental total.

    Just when you thought it couldn't get worst at drop off my total Bill was $811.29 double of what I was quoted online. When I requested to speak to a supervisor I got the same answer I did all the times I called before. She is doing inventory and said that all the charges are mandatory. I'm saddened to see how these people don't value their customers and rather get bad reputation rather than provide the customer service we all are entitled to. HONESTY IS ALWAYS the best policy. - Needless to say I will not rent from this location again.

    We rented a car from the company over the holidays. The gentleman at the counter was so incredibly rude that if there was any other option we would have walked. Over the course of a few minutes our rental went from $700 to $1030 charged to our account. The $200 deposit and the toll pass were added on. We were informed that you had to get the toll pass because cash was no longer accepted throughout the whole state (not true). We were charged $6.95 - but the website showed a weekly max and then the $200 deposit. Well that is supposed to be refunded in 5 business days. Well NOPE! It's the 19th of the January - the car was returned on the 31st. No refund. No answer at customer service. A recording that tells you that you will receive a call within one business day. Still waiting - it's been 6. No response to emails either. So if you rent from them plan for additional fees and your deposits never being returned.

    Tolls where a teller is present and change is made.
    Tolls where only coins are accepted.

    Tolls where you can not pay and you actually pay by plate.

    It looks like you took our toll pass option which means you could travel through unlimited tolls without worrying about not being able to pay the tolls and worrying about expensive administration fees.

    My husband, son and I were visiting family in Denver for Christmas. On December 23, 2015 we received a rental rate from a very pleasant woman at the counter for E-Z at the airport, then proceeded to catch the shuttle to E-Z's building. My husband went in to rent the car and was very pleased because the agent (Lorenzo) gave us a Hyundai Santa Fe for the same price we would have paid for a compact car, and also gave us the option to pay $20 up front for fuel so we would not have to stop and fill the car up on the way back and wouldn't be charged a ridiculous amount for gas. Upon returning the rental 3 days later, the agent who checked the car in charged us $147.89 more than expected, stating that we were being charged a refueling fee.

    My husband explained that we paid $20 extra so we wouldn't have this issue, and after looking at the receipt, the agent informed my husband that the $20 was never actually charged and to dispute the charge he'd have to go inside and stand in line to speak to someone about it. We couldn't do that because we were on our way to the airport to catch our flight back home. The agent then informed my husband that we could call the number listed on the receipt (800-777-5500) and speak to someone to resolve the issue. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes on 2 separate occasions, my husband ended up leaving 2 messages that should have been returned within 24 hrs (per the information left via the automated recording). He also called back 3 or 4 times without leaving a message after being on hold for 10 minutes or more each time. That was back in December the same day we returned the car and during the 2 weeks following.

    Today is January 18, 2016. It's almost a month later and not only has no one called back regarding either message my husband left, I have been on the phone for nearly an hour this morning trying various numbers (even number to E-Z rental in other states) in an attempt to speak to an actual person regarding this matter. I also tried numbers for Advantage as they are owned by the same company. I called different numbers and also tried different selections for different departments for each number and I have yet to speak to an actual person. I kept getting sent to a general voicemail box or left on hold for 5 minutes or longer. We will NEVER rent from E-Z or Advantage again and we will share our disappointing experience with family and friends so they don't have to deal with the same incompetence that we've had to endure. DO NOT RENT FROM E-Z OR ADVANTAGE. It's definitely not worth the headache.

    Stay away from E-Z Rental Car LAX! Don't EVER rent from here. I have had a rental car for the past week and everything was fine until today. The car was due today at noon and at approximately 11 AM this morning (January 16), I called to ask if I could extend my rental until 5 pm on Wednesday, January 20. I was told that YES I could extend the rental until then at my original rate of $9 per day (before insurance). So I kept the car according to this new agreement. But then, tonight at approximately 6:30 PM, while I was at dinner at a restaurant, I was called out of the blue by Shakira at the E-Z Rental car office and told I had to bring my car back IMMEDIATELY or else I would be charged approx. $150 per day because the agreement the E-Z employee had made with me that morning was "no good," in Shakira's words.

    She said that it didn't matter that another E-Z employee had extended my rental that morning (there was a note on file acknowledging my extension, I later found out and I documented the conversation). Why did Shakira wait 8 hours to tell me that I couldn't, after all, have an extension? I have no idea. And when I asked her, she didn't have an answer. I was several hours away from LAX when I received Shakira's surprise call, and I had planned the rest of my vacation around having the rental car until January 20, 2016, as agreed upon by the E-Z Employee. Yet E-Z Rental employees did not honor their OWN employees extension and now threaten to charge me $150 a day unless I bring the car back RIGHT NOW contrary to their agreement with me from this morning, of which I have a record.

    Shakira told me that the LA office has to approve of requests for extensions, but NO ONE ever told me this. And in fact, they told me the contrary: my request for an extension was granted. I have called the two numbers given to me more than a dozen times and no one has answered. Do not EVER rent a car from E-Z Rental. It may seem cheap and satisfactory, but if anything goes wrong you will be screwed. This is the worst customer service experience of my life.

    I rented a car out of LAX from EZ Jan 1 for two weeks. Booked online through Expedia for 78 dollars a week. They had no full sizes left so the manager gave me a Toyota 4Runner for the same price after waiting in line for an hour. The rental agreement was for 278.33 which included the prepaid gas. I dropped the car off two weeks later and when I get the bill emailed to me for 1392.38. This was 980 dollars over their preauth on my credit card and no one thought twice about it. I tried calling but they don't answer the phone. I have reported this fraudulent charge to visa who said they will dispute the charge for me. Be very careful with this company. Poor service coupled with incompetence and borderline criminal activity in charging my credit card without authorization. We waited in that line for an hour while they tried to call home base for every single person trying to get more cars to the airport.     I was disappointed with the EZ rental policy. I had left my arrival time as a default, which resulted in an incorrect arrival time. The agent then said there were no more cars available and rented me a larger vehicle. I was mainly irritated as there were so many vehicles in my car class size in the lot, many of which were recently returned, and the agent just said that "that one is already rented" without batting an eyelash. There isn't enough transparency with rental companies to make me feel like you are ever telling the truth. Surely there were other cars that were reserved that also people had missed their window of time. There was a woman ahead of us that had reserved the same size vehicle then changed her mind.     I did not reserve a car with E-Z but with Advantage. When I came to pick up the vehicle I was told there were no full size automobiles available but they would give me a fairly new Corolla. The Corolla was fine but I did not get what I reserved & paid for, a full size car. Is a Corolla a mid size? Anyway I feel that was not a good "guess what" and that I should maybe have been compensated or have my daily rate reduced? What do you think?     I rented an SUV in Denver last month. I called E-Z 3 days before my trip to confirm that the vehicle was 4WD and they said that all the SUVs in Denver would be (as I've experienced renting there for the last 10+ years). When I arrived, I was told that I would have to upgrade, at a cost of $75 per days extra, in order to get 4WD. After much debate, I negotiated this down somewhat. I called their 1-800 customer support as I was leaving and was told that they could not help and that this was at the discretion of the local manager. On my return I asked to speak with the manager (Todd as I was told) and he was not available. I later called and left three detailed messages for him but had no return calls. On top of all this, the shuttle service to the terminal was horrible - they use old, small (12 passenger) vans that we had to wait a looong time for. I will never use EZ Rental again.

Also charged for refueling even though the car was returned with a full tank. Tried to work through customer service but they were not helpful at all. Seems clear that their business model is one of deception and maximizing their profit at the expense of being honest and ethical. Lures you in with very low rates. Then finds every reason to charge you exorbitant fees, even higher than Hertz or Avis. Worst company of any kind that I have ever dealt with. You'd be better off hitch-hiking than renting a car from this unethical company.

When we got on the highway, the back left tire was thumping so loudly we had to pull over. We called customer service 5 times and received no callback.     Hello. I've made reservation with E-Z through airportrentalcars.com. My EZ confirmation was # **. I've been traveling in Europe and North America a lot. This was the worst experience I've ever had with car rental. When I arrived at Ft. Lauderdale airport on December 24, 2015 at registration desk, it took about 15-20 min to process the paperwork. Apparently the printer was not working. I cannot believe there was only one printer. When I came to the parking lot for the key, the attendant has sent me to a wrong parking spot number. I've had to press buttons on the keys to find my car. When I started a car I noticed that the warning light indicating low tire pressure was on. At that time there were no visible problems with the tires. When I asked, together with my wife, the attendant about this, the lady in the booth told me that it is OK and some Toyota Camrys do that. With these instructions we drove off the parking lot.

    The next day, when attempting to go about our business, I've noticed that the rear tire on driver's side was half deflated. I've tried to call on the phone that was listed on the Contract. I could not reach a live person regardless what extensions I was pressing. I've installed the spare tire. Thankfully we were not far from the airport and the next morning I drove there to sort this out. When I arrived at the parking lot the person, who I understood was a shift supervisor (name is probably Andrew), immediately stated that I will be charged for a flat tire. I've tried to explain that I did not puncture tire and the warning lite was on when I picked up a car. I offered him to inspect the tire. Only after that did he inspected the tire and could not find any holes, nails etc. At that time I was very upset and informed the attendant that I don't want to deal with this car rental anymore. They closed my contract, but still charged me for a flat tire.

    I've tried to talk to someone in charge. As it happened, there was another man, who stated that he was overall supervisor (big man with the beard who came in the big white van). He showed me in the contract the paragraph indicating that the driver is responsible for a flat tire. Then I asked him to show me where it is in a contract that the car can be defective when being rented. This man has also inspected the tire and agreed that there was no damage to it. Eventually the charge for the tire was dropped. At the end I was charged almost $300 for two days rental, when I could not even drive anywhere. Prior to taking car to the airport I was leaving messages at the number on the contract as there was no live person available. I also sent an email and never received any response, until someone called after three days who had no clue what I was talking about.

    Needless to say that this will be my last time I rent car from E-Z and definitely will not recommend anyone I know to do it. I am also planning to post the same information in the consumer's report website as well as other travel advisories. We've been planning this trip from Canada for a long time and were looking forward our vacation. The unprofessional and disrespectful treatment by the staff almost destroyed our trip to Florida. I hope this company will review in details this complaint, as well as others that have been posted on the consumer report website and take a hard look at the way you do business.

    I have been trying to get someone from the E-Z Rent-A-Car office in Miami as well as their corporate customer service to reply to my emails or call me back with no success. They put you on hold immediately and the customer service line has you hold for "the next available representative" and after 15 minutes a recording comes on saying temporarily unavailable, call back later and hangs up on you. When I returned the car at the Miami airport office, I asked the associate twice for a receipt. He said he had nothing he could give me but I would get a receipt by email. I was not at all happy that he would not give me a receipt in person. When I returned home to Atlanta the next day the receipt that was sent by email indicated we received a full tank of gas when we originally took the car but that we returned it empty. That was completely false.

    Our bill should have been $238.42 and we have been charged $396.10 for fuel charges because he said it was empty. He was not very bright trying to pull off this scam. He indicated we drove 128 miles with the car. Does anyone believe we used a completely full tank of gas driving only 128 miles? I have my gas receipt of $15.56 from the day of our car rental return. The difference of $157.68 is what they charged for fuel. I have called 50 to 75 times to the Miami airport location only to be put on hold 98% of the time. I left 3 voice mails for managers and finally when I left a message with an actual person explaining the situation and to have the manager call asap, I did not receive a call. I have filed a claim with the BBB and also am disputing charges with my bank. There is zero customer service and no one will respond to my complaint. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this company at all. BEWARE.

    I picked up my E-Z rental last week at Seattle, SEATAC for my holiday family visit south of the city. Ten minutes later, after pulling into a Starbucks in Tukwila to get a drink for the drive, my car was surrounded and I was blocked into my parking spot by 4 squads and an unmarked SUV! An officer came up to my window as I sat in my car, coffee in hand, and said that he routinely runs plates in parking lots and had run mine and it came up stolen and asked for my license and how long I'd had the car. I told him it was a rental, then he and the other cops proceeded to check under the hood and VIN numbers all over the car. They weren't sure WHAT was going on, and advised me to have E-Z bring another car so that I could get on with my day.

    It was a huge scene! COPS everywhere and me staring around in total disbelief. So anyway, one cop made a call to E-Z and some time later, one of their goons showed up with another unspectacular vehicle. He offered to help transfer my bags, but never apologized in any way for the hour plus I spent being stalled in a parking lot with law enforcement. Before driving away, I said to him.. "so I imagine at least you guys will give me some sort of discount on this rental (it was for a week ) due to all the ** I've had to put up with your stolen car, or plates or whatever.." Mr. E-Z replied, "I guess we can give you 50% off.." with a pained look.

    Nice story, huh?

    So here it is more than a week later and they've charged the full amount and looks like some additional fee, for what I'm not certain. Anyway, I've called twice and was reassured that they would honor the 50% discount but so far nothing. UNBELIEVABLE!! One officer told me that if they'd spotted the car with its stolen plates along I-5, they would've pulled me over with a PA announcement, made me get out of the car and probably on the ground, not knowing who the hell I was with a stolen car. I would HIGHLY advise against renting their cars under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Go to Budget, or whoever and save yourself the **. PS. E-Z is related to ADVANTAGE somehow, so better watch out for those crooks too..

    I made a car reservation from E-Z because of its price. The whole process was great and I liked everything. However, they did not display upon checkout that there's going to be an extra $25 a day fee for me being 24 years old instead of 25. I know that's standard, but other places didn't have that fee and they disclosed it at checkout so I figured E-Z wouldn't have it either.     We rented a car through E-Z Car Rental Company in Denver, Co. We got our weekly rate on their website. When we got to E-Z Car Rental Company in Denver we were told that they didn't have any cars except for a van, even though there were numerous cars in the lot. We took the van because it was really late. We were there because my brother in law passed away suddenly over Thanksgiving. We had the van for a week with no problems.

    Upon returning the car there wasn't anyone checking in the cars so I went in. Lady behind the counter printed out my contract and the price had tripled. Our contract stated our weekly rate @ $120.45. The contract they printed out stated we owed $291.06. We were shocked. She said she couldn't do anything about it and said to come back the next day to speak with a manager or call the 1-800 number on the contract. Well we tried never reaching a human being. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute this fraudulent charges.

    Please be advised that your solution to this report of a car that has issues with the trunk opening while driving, no headlights warning sign, on/off tire problems is not going to be settled with a 20 percent discount on my next rental and charging me for e-z toll that was not asked for or never used because of this car that was rented to me. I didn't authorize or initial it on my contract. I feel I owe some of this bill but not the full amount because of the problem with this car. The glue that was on the trunk was from the last customer that had this car. That is how they kept it closed - by taping it.

    I find it hard to believe they didn't complain as well someone took the tape off. The car was not cleaned before I got it and I did see the glue on the trunk. I marked it on my inspection slip but was clueless at that time that it was from tape to hold the trunk shut. Who is responsible for making sure that cars are cleaned and safe for customers. I have notified my bank of this issue. You rented me a dangerous car. I tried to call you, but my call was put on hold then next I was cut off. I have called from Canada twice and your solution today is as unexceptionable as renting me a dangerous car.

    We rented a car from E-Z and it was dirty but being in a hurry we got on the road from the Denver Airport Rental Location. On the way to our destination we notice a stress fracture in the front windshield. We call that location and the Office Manager said to put her name and circle the windshield on the check out sheet and if there was a problem in the future just get them to call her. Well there was a problem that we fought for 7 months and she said she didn't know anything about it.

    Our mistake is we should have turned around and brought the car back. It was finally dropped.

    The other mistake we have made is rented from them again and there was a old faulty repair on the windshield that we didn't notice, and again not learning from our mistake the car was dirty again, and of course being ignorant to repairs and the angle we inspected the car, we didn't see it again. We took it to a professional windshield place to make sure it was an old repair and have not yet heard for E-Z. I held for an hour and 5 mins and got disconnected from their customer service line and Risk Management has still failed to call us back. We will see where this goes. This is how rental car places make money. The customers does the checkout list and E-Z in hope that the customer won't find a repair, blame the customer and gets them to pay for it.

    On October 24, I arrived at E-Z Rent-A-Car to pick up the compact car that I had reserved at 6:15 AM over a week in advance through their website directly. I would be retiring the car by 10:30 AM on October 29. Although there wasn't a single customer at the front desk, and I even had to call on a phone to speak with an employee, my car was not ready upon arrival. They informed me that since it wasn't ready they would be upgrading us to a convertible at the same price. Although the gas mileage was not as good, we decided we would accept it since we reserved the car at this time for a reason and could not wait any longer. I made sure to thoroughly read over the policies outlined on the website so we would not run into any surprises upon picking up our rental. The website states that anyone between the ages of 21-24 will pay a $20 per day underage fee.

    The contract we received said $25 per day which added up to an additional $30 charge. I informed the employee of this and he continued to tell me that he has no authority over what fee I am charged and cannot make any changes to the contract. I decided that once I arrived home I would contact E-Z Rent-A-Car and have them adjust the discrepancy for me. We made it out to the car, and I could not believe the condition of the car that we were receiving. The scratches were covering the entire car's perimeter. I couldn't even possibly begin to write down every dent or scratch on the damage liability form. I ended up marking nearly every single block of the car I could on our form. The cars interior was even peeling on the passenger side door! We were extremely embarrassed to be driving this around. Sad to say, we felt as if we had been taken advantage of by the employee saying this was an upgrade from what we actually rented.

    Unfortunately for us, on our way back to our hotel, we accidentally drove through an E-Z Pass toll road. We knew that we would be charged a $25 administration fee for this plus the cost of the toll as stated in the contract and expected this to show up as a charge to our card within the next month. When you call E-Z Rent-A-Car's customer service line it offers the suggestion of sending them an email or leaving a voicemail to get in contact with someone. I wanted to clear up the overcharge for the underage fee and discuss my negative experience with someone. I sent my first email to them on November 9 and didn't receive a response. I sent my second email to them on November 24 and received an email the following day asking for a contract number. I emailed them my info three days later on November 28. By December 8, I still had not received an email back.

    I was charged $27.50 to my credit card for what I thought was my missed toll on November 23, which I fully expected and anticipated from Advantage Rent-A-Car Tolls. I then received a second charge on December 5 in the amount of $91.43. I had no idea what this could be. On December 7, I called to receive an emailed copy of my invoice to see what my final charges were for. I noticed that I had toll charges of $16.43 and an administrative fee of $75. I was extremely confused because I only remembered going through one toll. I then called the number listed on my contract under the tolls heading to get a copy of all my toll violations, and I didn't even get my sentence out before the representative began talking over me that she could not help me and I would need to contact customer service. Since customer service was closed, I called them the following morning.

    Cynthia answered the phone, and I spoke with her regarding the underage fee. She agreed that I was overcharged and said she would be processing the refund I was due. I informed her that I had some unexpected charges and would like a copy of my toll violations. She emailed them to me and informed me that there were four toll violations, and it looks like they waived one of the administrative fees for myself as well. Once I received my email, I noticed that for two of the missed toll charges on October 29, I was no longer in possession of the vehicle. I also noticed that I had somehow accidentally missed another toll that I was not aware of. I called customer service back again to have them remove the charges that did not belong to me. I was then informed that the number I was previously told to call, does not handle toll charges. I was beginning to get extremely upset at this point and felt as if I was getting the runaround.

    Each time I had to call a different department I was waiting on hold for over twenty minutes. I called the toll department and the representative researched my account for me. He informed me that they had an error in their system and I was accidentally charged for two tolls and one administrative fee that did not belong to me, and that's what some of the charge was for on December 7. I let him know this didn't add up since I was charged a total of $118.93 and my total balance due was actually $58.59. He continued to tell me that I was never charged $27.50 for any missed tolls. I let him know that there has already been so many glitches in their system, that I'm sure he's wrong. Sure enough, he found that they had yet another error in their system and accidentally double charged me in error on November 24. He said I would be refunded the $27.50, but it would take around three weeks for this refund to process.

    I told him that this experience has been a nightmare from the start and asked if I could receive a $25 waived administrative fee just like they had originally done when they thought I had four missed tolls. This representative informed me to call back customer service since he cannot handle this. I now had to call back customer service for the third time in one day and informed the representative whose name I believe may be Linda or Laura of what happened. I was beyond aggravated and upset at this point of all the accidental overcharges I received and the hassle I had to go through to receive the money back that I was rightfully due. She automatically told me that they are refunding the charges of what they owed me and she is refusing to do anything further. I continued to question and let her know how aggravated I was with the situation and after all of this the company should do something as a convenience to me.

    They were willing to waive a single fee when they were charging me for another customers bill, but not for my own. I could not remember the person's name I spoke with at the time, which I now know is Cynthia based on the email she sent me. Since I couldn't recall the name she said rudely, "Then, I don't know what to tell you." I let her know I now have money tied up for over a month from an error on their part. She said this is not the company's fault, as this is a third party. I did not give my credit card information to anybody except E-Z Rent-A-Car and and toll violation department had previously stated it was an error in E-Z's system. I let her know this and she just told me again that she's not refunding anything and that's the way it will stay. She attempted to say that I was also already given a discount of $8.50, however, that was a promotion that I received online when booking that anyone is entitled to.

    I did ask to speak to a manager however, she did say that's who she was. She said this is in my contract, and that's how it will stay. After a bit more back and forth, she said very rudely that she'd send me a 10% off coupon. I let her know that I will never be doing business with this company again. She rudely stated, "Then this conversation is finished." and promptly hung the phone up on me. Not once did anyone acknowledge all the mistakes that the company made, offer to do anything for me as a customer for this horrendous experience, or even utter the words, "I'm sorry." I have now been overcharged $30 for the underage fee and $60.34 for tolls that belonged to another customer, $30 of which will take over a month to refund. This comes out to $90.34 of supposed accidental errors in the system and the company is refusing to waive any fees at all as a courtesy and was stated that had already been waived.

    I was pleased with service I received for the most part. I did on my own have an issue. I was all packed up and ready to head back to the airport and put my luggage in trunk and closed trunk to realize immediately after I had left keys in trunk on top of my luggage. Luckily I had left a 3-hour window before my flight was leaving as I wanted to get lunch at airport for myself and 7 year old daughter. I spent 45 minutes on phone trying to get a hold of support from car rental but just kept getting bumped from phone support agent to line going dormant. I then called local tow company who told me they would be happy to assist if I had rental agreement..which was in trunk of car with luggage. They said they could not enter vehicle without it.

    I then tracked down local locksmith company who saved the day once I said I would pay $100 if they showed up in 15 minutes or less. I made my flight by the skin of my teeth. I explained to agent upon dropping off car and her explanation for not getting customer support during the ordeal was the front desk was usually busy...I paid $465.00 US for a 8 day mid-range rental and was left hanging when I needed assistance. I know it was my bad but I expected some sort of support during this ordeal and I was out of pocket and left to deal with it all with support from rental company.

    I have never ever experienced such poor service, disrespect and honestly the entire rental experience was as if I had been dropped down a rabbit hole! This "car rental" company and I use that term loosely operates the complete opposite of any other car rental company in that SeaTac rental center. You reserve a car on Priceline or other sites with unlimited mileage and get told "oh wait because you live in Washington you have only 150 miles a day" and proudly tells you they are the only one in the building that does this... What?!?! It escalates from there. $200 deposit held but you must read the fine print. They have up until 21 days to refund but... Oh wait. When you return the car NOWHERE on the receipt will it show it is refunded. Response "you just have to keep checking your account... What?!?!

    Then getting the car you head down to a rude girl who swears at you and treats you like you are a lowlife as you stand there in your business suit weary after a week of travel. Directs you to a car which you must sign for your keys and that the car shows no damage "before" you see your car... What?!?! Then that car is filthy inside smelling like cigarettes. (I am allergic.) And when I told them I couldn't rent a car with smoke was informed only car available was a car that honestly looked like it was someone's personal car, a full-size car with velour seats and dirty windows and car mats. By this time I was creeped out, felt dirty, disrespected and angry. The "supervisor" offered no apologies just said, "I can refund you." Unbelievable!!!

    Got my contract voided but they still left $10.13 on it. She said, "for taxes but don't worry it won't charge." Honestly worth $10.13 to get away from these people! I then went upstairs to the "real car companies". Upon hearing my story, THEY apologized for the disgusting service E-Z Car Rental had given me and said they were constantly fielding complaints about E-Z! One counter of a reputable rental company matched their price for all my distress... I will do my best to go back to them! I won't mention who to taint them in any way but will be writing that company an entirely different review! Do not ever rent from E-Z Car Rental. You will get exactly what you paid for unfortunately. If I could I would give them negative stars!

    I rented a vehicle for a business trip to Atlanta, GA last month. The car was a Chevy Impala, and as usual I did a walk around of the vehicle in a dimly lit parking garage, finding nothing glaringly obvious or out of the ordinary. I had possession of the vehicle for 2 days. When I returned the lot attendant was checking the vehicle in and pointed at the left rear tail light, saying it was damaged because it was sticking out from the rear quarter panel approximately 1/8 of an inch. I laughed because there was obviously no damage to the paint surrounding the taillight or the light itself.

    I sincerely thought she was joking, but then she advised me she was filling out a damage report. I could not believe it, it was obviously not anything I did. So I took pictures of the "damage" and filled out her paperwork so I could catch my flight. I kind of blew the whole thing off because any mechanic who is qualified would look at the light and recognize how ridiculous the claim was. Well today I received a bill for $700, for a taillight. It is a frivolous claim, one that I intend to get overturned.

    We used E-Z when we went to Last Vegas, and it was excellent! There were no snafus. We got lucky because our airline had booked the car for us. It didn't really say who it was booked with, and when we got to the car rental place, the first lady we asked was E-Z and she says, "Oh, that's us." She says, "Oh, we have their reservations." It would have been nicer if they had a sign that says our car is with E-Z because there are about 10 different car companies there. But we happened to ask the right one so we were in the right place. After that, everything was perfect. We got to pick the car we want. It was easier than I thought.

For my surprise when the bill came, they charged me more money with other rate for the extra two days I extended. I spend 4 hours trying to contact some customer service, and finally they explained to me "because I call by phone for the extension it is another price." I lost the money... I use to rent with Hertz, Enterprise or other bigger companies, I never had a problem with them. But this company bit me... But never more... Only once... Also, customer service sucks.     On November 5, 2015 we reserved a 7 passenger vehicle for an estimated price of $131 through CarRentals.com. The pick-up was for Thanksgiving day with a return the following day. About 3-4 days prior to the scheduled pick-up we called E-Z to confirm the reservation, which they did. On November 25, 2015, one day prior to pick-up we received a confirmation e-mail (Confirmation #**).

    We arrived at the E-Z/Allied rental office before 10:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. I gave the agent a copy of the last confirmation, and after about 5 minutes he informed us that they did not have that type of vehicle available. His only offer was to rent us 2 separate vehicles. The purpose of renting a 7 passenger vehicle was so that all of us could make the trip together. We refused the "offer" and asked what he, the agent, was going to do. He told us he would give us the names of some other car rental agencies; not even offering to make the calls himself.

    This is an obvious example of "bait-and-switch". We ended up finding a vehicle at Budget, for approximately $100 more than the price quoted by E-Z, but the people at Budget/Avis could not have been nicer and more obliging. I am submitting my complaint to the Commonwealth department of ConsumerAffairs and posting a "RENTER BEWARE" on as many blogs and complaint sites as I can locate. This is the type of incident that wrecks our tourism image in Puerto Rico. Not everyone mistreats tourists (and locals) as poorly as E-Z/Allied.

I’ve used other retails, and that time, I wanted to use E-Z because I was told they’re good. The only thing is that when I went to rent a car, I noticed it was hard for them to deal under pressure. They need to do something about customer service when it comes to dealing with a lot of customers. I was standing right in front of them and then they took someone that was behind me, and I did not appreciate that. They might need some help. Anyway, during pickup, it was okay.     PLEASE save yourself a ton of aggravation and DO NOT rent from this company. I have tried them twice and both times I was charged double or triple what I was quoted when I made my reservation online. They do not explain charges when you pick up your car and you end up with a huge bill in the end. I have been calling customer service for over 2 weeks now about my issues and they keep telling me they're submitting things for refunds but nothing has been resolved. I have called them 6 times, emailed them and spoken with a manager. Their standard response is "Someone will get back to you within 48 hours" but I have yet to get even 1 call or response. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. As a last resort I've had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge.

    We rented a car from E-Z at the Orlando airport between 10/21 and 10/25. I have used the location in DFW without incident several times. I declined their insurance and was sent to another terminal to pick up my vehicle. I didn't think too much of it at the time, since I was getting a minivan and figured they may have a low inventory. It was parked by itself, but, again, I thought little of it. I, admittedly, glanced it over, though it was in a dimly lit garage. I didn't note any damage. Four days later, as I pull up to return it, the man says, "I'm going to have to write up the bumper is falling off..." I thought he was joking (it had been less than a few seconds), until I realized he wasn't.

    I immediately asked for a manager, that backed him up, assured me it was on me, since the previous return had not noted damage and neither had my outgoing slip. I immediately started snapping pictures and called my insurance. They kept insisting I leave, but I refused until I was satisfied with my insurance company that I had done all I needed to do. When I got home and googled them, something I had not done since I had had several other good experiences, I noticed that they were under investigation for similar things. I have contacted the Florida attorney general's office, the Florida dept of agriculture (which, oddly, regulates rental companies) and the Florida insurance commissioner (which didn't seem to be able to do anything from a regulatory standpoint).

    I will also be filing with the BBB. Our insurance company says this is becoming an increasingly popular scam from rental car companies, but there does not seem to be a whole lot of recourse. I am hoping that changes. Seeing this occurring at several nationwide locations makes me wonder if this could be looked into at a federal level.

    The reason I wasn't impressed was due to the check in process. The attendant was rude and very pushy for insurance. I explained I already had coverage through the credit card and he said it's secondary and they don't accept that. I explained that it wasn't secondary, it was PRIMARY and still he said no. In either case, he had me call Geico to verify that I had insurance on my personal car before renting.

    I get that they want to cover themselves, sure, but the whole pushy buy the insurance thing is too much. In addition it's very inconvenient to spend an extra 10 minutes waiting for me to call and verify my insurance with Geico and being told they don't accept credit card rental car insurances, even when my card offers primary (not secondary) insurances. The bigger rental agencies have no problem doing so and sometimes their rental costs are cheaper. This boiled down to having a cheaper rental fee, this time, vs the other companies, but I think next time I'll stick with less hassle and headaches and go back to bigger companies. I felt like I was being talked down to, and the insurance "up sell" I can do without. Car was decent. Nothing fancy.

    On the 24th of October I rented a car in the Miami International Airport with Advantage Car Rental. I filled out the forms showing that there was pre-existing damage to the left side door. It was a huge scratch and I was concerned that we could be held liable so I identified it, filled out and signed the form, and asked the attendant if it was OK. She assured me that it was fine.     The wait for an agent was way too long with only 3 agents working. When we got to counter finally they said they did not have any cars on this side of airport and not enough staff to bring a car over to us that we needed to go to the other side of airport. I requested to talk to manager but they said he too was on the other side so I asked them to call him for me and they refused. It was late at night and we had a lot of luggage. I have a younger child with and this made the vacation start off very bad!!

    I was very disgraced and disappointed with this company!!! Then the car smelled bad inside and made our allergies start from the drive.     On October 24th 2015 I rented a car from EZ Car rental. When I walked down to the area where they assign the car, we asked the attendant how he was doing? He responded with "Great! Just sitting here eating French fries!" He gave us the keys and we walked over to get in the car and it was absolutely filthy. When I asked if the car had been cleaned he responded with yes and he proceeded to hand me glass cleaner while he located paper towels. I told him he and he proceeded to hand me a glass cleaner. I told him, "I didn't come to Vegas on vacation to clean windows on a rental car!" He told me I could walk to the detailers and ask them to re-clean the windows. I asked him to contact them and he said he didn't have a way to reach them. I then asked for another car and he told me it would take forever to change the car.

    I walked back in to the main counter where they did change the car, however, the second car was just as dirty! Fingerprints covering ALL the windows. When I contacted the manager the next day she offered for me to bring the car back on empty for my troubles. When we returned I left a small bag in the vehicle by accident. We returned to the location to inquire about our bag. We spoke to "5" employees who have us the runaround before FINALLY reaching the right department to claim our bag. Absolutely ridiculous! Worse customer service I have EVER encountered! As we were exiting we talked to other customers that were extremely dissatisfied as well! I DO NOT recommend this company!

    I went to Disneyland with my boyfriend and his family. There were a lot of us, so we rented two vehicles from E-Z at LAX. The plan was for my boyfriend and I to spend day 1 in Hollywood since it was my first time and I wanted to go some sightseeing. We left E-Z and stopped at a gas station because the car was given to us on empty. After filling up and having a bite to eat, we were pulling out of the gas station when we were swarmed by police officers. There were about 7 officers with guns pointed at us. We were arrested and thrown in the back of the police cruisers.

    We found out that E-Z had, at some point, reported our car stolen and failed to alert the police when they got it back, so when the officer ran the plates, the vehicle came up as stolen. Luckily for us, the officers were great about it and after they towed our vehicle away, they drove us back to E-Z to get a new car. They gave us the dirtiest, most foul smelling vehicle. The inside was covered in dirt, the seats covered in crumbs and it stunk like mildew. We would have made them give us a new car, but at this point we were three hours into our day, Hollywood was off the table and we had to get to Anaheim so we took it. The manager was conveniently not there at the time and was unable to be reached on the phone. We were told by an employee that this happens all the time. In 8 days we spent in Anaheim, we could never reach the manager.

    When we brought the car back we had to fight with them to get a discount. They offered us next to nothing and kept telling us that this wasn't their fault. The manager was finally there but was barely talking to us. They kept saying that they had a business to run and that they couldn't offer us a better discount. I will NEVER rent a car from this company again! I was arrested, terrified and embarrassed, not to mention the first day of our trip was completely ruined. I am going to put my story all over the internet in the hopes that it keeps even one person from renting a car from this company.

Our company runs on a 24 hours rental schedule. You notified us that you were going to be renting a bit longer than the 24 hours. This is why in your original reservation you were quoted for 2 days @$24 a day and then an extra 2 hours at $8. As you mentioned you did bring the vehicle back earlier thank expected. You were only charged $4 out of the $8 because of this.

    We prepaid for toll roads which was incidentally was very overpriced. Not knowing the Orlando area we did not know how many times we would need the toll road. We were not advised on this. We paid $41.94 to EZ rental to avoid cash tolls each time. We used the toll road 4 times ($4 max it would have cost). When we arrived home another charge of $30 was charged without authorization to our credit card for tolls. I have contacted them twice. After lengthy on hold times I have been told upper management has to fix the situation before a refund can be made.

    I was forced into E-Z Rent-A-Car because they were the only company open after 2 AM. Although not happy with the rates ($89 a day for a compact + $17 insurance), I had to have a car for that week. I didn't look over the condition of the car before renting because it was dark and I was exhausted from traveling. On return of the car, I was informed that there were "dings" in the front fender.

    I asked for the description to be changed to "ding" because I couldn't and still can't see the other one. I parked in two large parking decks during the time I had the car, there is no way these dings occurred while I had the car. You wouldn't even notice these dings on your own car - see pictures, the dings are circled with chalk. Anyway, those "dings" are going to cost me $855 to fix in addition to the already ripoff daily + insurance rate on the car. I rent a car at least once a month and usually pay about $50 a day and have never had a maintenance issue. Note: With appropriate resolution of this issue, I will change my opinion and review of this company. Thank you.

    I reserved a vehicle with Priceline for this company for $27.00/day from the McCarran airport in Las Vegas. The first car I was given was an old Impala that did not look fit for the road so I requested another vehicle in the same class and was given a 2015 Toyota Camry with very low mileage but the inside looked as though it had been driven for 300,000 + miles. The seats were filthy! I was told that I would have to pay a $200 deposit which I would get back on return of the vehicle. Then the total would be $127.00 for 3 days.

    My card was charged $320.00 and when I returned the vehicle was told it would be $265 as I had been charged $60.00/day and with other fees it totaled this amount and that I would only get $65.00 returned. I have yet to get the $65.00. I have requested my $200.00 deposit via phone and email with no return Communications. Priceline is also investigating this matter. What a scam! I'll use the monorail next time for sure! Next stop the Las Vegas convention center...

    I rented a car from E-Z Rent-A-Car at Atlanta Airport on Sep 1, 2015 and didn't take their insurance as I had my own insurance. When I got to the car where it was parked, I looked for any visible damages to report. The problem was, the place the car was parked had very little lighting, and I was in a hurry, so I couldn't see a crack inside the car on the transparent plastic in the dashboard. I noticed the crack half an hour later when I was on the road, but the issue was my phone battery had died, I didn't have a car charger and I was stuck in the middle of the Atlanta traffic since it was evening time. The car didn't look well from inside and was smelling weird from inside. I was in the city for a very short time and was very busy with meeting people and going places that I didn't get time to report this crack on the dashboard in my car.

    Also, I was hoping that the guys from the rental would already know the cracked plastic since it existed before I took it and was hoping they would understand when I explain it to them. 13 hours later when I return it to them early in the morning and was getting late to my flight, I tell them about this cracked plastic, and they say they don't know about it and ask me to fill a form. I filled the form and wrote that the crack on the dashboard was already there before I took the car. Then 2 weeks later, I get a bill mailed to me for the damages. And then I get a call from them saying that I am supposed to pay the bill. I explain them my situation and tell them it's not my fault, and they say they will check the report from the guy who rented the car before me.

    It's been 3 weeks since then, and I have been calling them to figure out the situation. No one picks up the call most of the time. The one time they picked up, they said they will call back later. And even when they call back, they are saying they are still waiting for the report and can't say how long it might take. All I am hoping is for them to look into this matter, realize that it's not my fault and waive their claim, as soon as possible. This is not what I was expecting from a rental car company with over 20 years of experience.

    We chose E-Z Rent-A-Car because we had used them before and it was really easy. Everything went smooth though we didn't get the best price with them. We got the best price at Payless which was about half price of E-Z. So when we were on vacation and we needed a car, we first went up to Payless' counter and went through the rental thing, but we can't rent a car from them. We went next to E-Z and in about 5 minutes, everything was great. We were wishing we went there first.

    We did reserve a car in advance just in case something happened, and our interaction with the representative during the reservation was great. There was no problem. Also, everything was fantastic on the day of the pickup to the day of the return. I made some remarks when we returned the car. I told the person that took the car, "Look at them. Look it over and everything. Make sure everything was good and there wasn't any secrets or anything that was gonna happen later or anything." I also told them, "As nice as everybody was at E-Z, I'm probably not even gonna bother messing with anybody else from now on. When we go out of town and we rent a car, we're just gonna go straight to E-Z because everything was really nice." I'd definitely recommend them.

    I was able to get my issue resolved by calling the corporate office in Orlando and actually speaking to a human being. The person I talked to at corporate was very helpful and my credit card was refunded the amount of the overcharge.

    I'm extremely disappointed with the Denver office, who never answered the phone nor returned my calls, but very relieved that the issue was resolved with the help of the corporate office. I upgraded my rating from "extremely dissatisfied" to "dissatisfied" based on the corporate office response.

    I rented a car after flying into Denver. Received a written quote of $289.44. After returning the car on time with a full tank of gas, I was emailed a bill for over $1,200, including a refueling fee of $183.98. Daily charge was quoted at $27 for a total of $108. Was billed $167.50/day for total of $670. I've left messages and emailed with no response from either the Denver or national offices.
