    We had already purchased insurance thru Priceline when we rented the vehicle and then we got to Vegas to pick the vehicle up we were told the insurance wouldn't work and had to buy the company's insurance and other fees. We got charged over 400 dollars more when the car should have been paid for. You can say we got screwed.

    Although EZ car is off the airport on Maui, the van was waiting and the ride was short. Pick up was flawless, as was drop-off. Our plane was late, so picked up the car at night. Because it was dark we missed a scratch and small dent when we inspected the car. We called the next morning and were assured that it wouldn't be a problem. Indeed it wasn't and we returned the car, with an explanation. All around a good experience.

    Wrong price quoted. Can submit recording of price quoted from customer service person on the phone. Female Night manager was rude. Christian was very rude. And finally Sean was very nice at first but because unreasonable in the end. We even told him we were going to travel a lot with the car for 3 months and they kept having us come in every week more or less to renew or something like that. It became headache after headache of unproportional problems.

    There is nothing good to say about the pick-up experience. The staff were rude, slow, and incompetent. They couldn't answer simple questions, they pressured us to sign the agreements without being able to view the contract, and we stood in the cold for an hour while they struggled to process the check in. The car itself was in good condition, but when we returned the car we were accused of smoking in it (we are not smokers nor are ANY of our family members), this was far-fetched and exemplified the lack of professionalism and penny pinching that rental companies are notorious for. Don't be tempted by the price, this company is not run professionally.

    My husband and I needed to come to Houston for a second medical opinion recently, and we used EZ Car Rental. There wasn't a rental desk by that name at the airport and no one at any of the other desks, so we went outside to see if there might be a shuttle. After 25 minutes of waiting around outside, I called the only number that was given on the paperwork which was an 800 number to a general office somewhere, not the number for the local office where my reservation was.

    After another 15 minutes of waiting on hold, someone finally picked up the line and listened to how dissatisfied I was. She then began to read from a script which was flawed in that she kept telling me to go back into the airport to the rental desk, which was still not there. She couldn't seem to divest herself from this script and kept saying the same thing over and over again. That was all the help she could manage. It was infuriating. I hung up.

    So after 40 minutes of completely wasted time, me and my husband the CANCER PATIENT decided to drag our luggage across two large parking lots and a very busy road to the office. Once inside we encountered a toad of a person sitting behind the desk. I told him what we had just gone through and he didn't say a word. He just brought up my reservation and pointed us outside to pick up the car. He was utterly useless and couldn't have cared less. Apparently all you need to get that job is a pulse. It was a horrible experience and there is absolutely no way I'll ever do business with EZ Car Rental again. I've already let my friends and family know to steer clear of that place. At least the car didn't break down.

    Was charged for insurance that I clearly stated I did not want. Like most people I assumed the agent gave me what I asked for and put the paperwork in my file knowing that I would get final receipt upon return. Final receipt was over twice what it should have been. Insurance was more than the car rental per day. Basically told too bad in a very rude way. Never again.

    The line was incredibly long due to the lack of staff. It was late night but the staff seemed very unorganized. The people in front of us went to go look for their car and it wasn't there. Then we went to go look for our car and it wasn't there. Turns out someone had stolen the cars from the lot. Probably due to lack of staff to monitor. In addition to that the staff took advantage of our tiredness and frustration and added unnecessary additions to our bill without truly explaining why they added it. It was really frustrating and not E-Z at all to rent the car. I would rather walk then rent a car from there again and we were an hours drive from the airport.

    The first vehicle we were given had high mileage (over 50,000 miles) and was in poor condition (lots of scratches, dings, etc.). A tire pressure warning light came on on day 2. We returned the car as advised by the rental company. The second car was also high mileage but in slightly better condition. A day or two later, a tire pressure warning light came on and we again had to return the car. The agent gave us an upgraded third car and comped us the gas in the vehicle. We appreciated that gesture. The off-site location was not too inconvenient as the airport transfers worked quite efficiently.

    It was odd adjusting to the low number of staff at both the ticket counter and at the car lot. There was only one person at the ticket counter and I had to wait a bit. There was also some confusion over whether we prepaid for our rental. The person who took our reservation over the phone clearly told us we had prepaid but the person at the ticket counter said we had not. There were 2 people in the booth at the car lot. None of them came outside to help me find my car and there was no one to check me out upon departure. It was all electronic check-out. The experience was okay, just not what I expected from a rental car agency.

By the time I got there I was too tired to notice the extra insurance they tacked on even though I denied extra coverage.     It was hard to find the shuttle from the Maui airport to the rental yard. The service at the yard was extremely slow. There was a lot of pressure to upgrade. The car we ended up with had an ignition that you had to fiddle with to start the car and to get the key out of the ignition. It took as long as a minute. Returning the car went fine.

    We rented a suburban. We got an expedition with 44000 miles on it. We saw multiple suburbans on the lot. We explained to a manager we owned a suburban and were familiar with it....he assured us it was same. I saw no 4 wheel drive button on the exposition. He said it had all wheel drive. We drove to mountains got stuck on a snowy hill. Had to be towed...almost slid off hill. Turns out it did have 4 wheel drive but control button was to right of steering wheel on the expedition not left like suburban. You put my family in danger unnecessarily... should never have car rental with that many miles on it. I have feeling Tires were worn. No reason manager could not have given us a suburban.     This is the 3rd review that I have written about my horrid experience with "EZ rental car". I have asked repeatedly to be contacted by a customer service agent from this company... as well as from their partner Priceline.com. NEITHER has replied except to continue to send me "survey" forms. I will continue to say that I flew into ATL airport on Thanksgiving weekend with a reservation for EZ rental car. THERE WAS NO EZ RENTAL CAR AT THAT AIRPORT! There was 1 lousy little sign directing you to another rental car company. I was then told (by that company) that my rate would DOUBLE because I was a local customer and it should have been noted "somewhere" in very fine print on the third party site. Had it not been a holiday weekend I would have canceled on the spot. I travel all the time and rent from almost every rental company but THIS WAS JUST FRAUD!!

    I was told by the Advantage rental car agent that checked my car back in that I should dispute the charge because this was a VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE OF FRAUDULENT BOOKINGS THAT HAPPENS AT LEAST 3X A WEEK! If ConsumerAffairs is so concerned with customer feedback then they should at least reply to those that have had a TERRIBLE experience! I am traveling again this week and renting a car for 10 days and I will NEVER, EVER, EVER rent from EZ Rental, Advantage rental or Priceline.com again.

    ADVANTAGE EZ CAR RENTAL - This is the 2nd time using your company. 1st time your employee lied to me and used deceptive sales tactics to try and charge me more money for things that I did not want and did not ask for. I figure I'd give your company a 2nd chance. Same thing, different city/airport. Counter person lied to me and tried to upsell/charge me more. I returned the car with a FULL tank of gas. They charged me a $48 FPO (Fuel Purchase Option) and when I was emailed my receipt, they indicated that the gas tank was 1/8 full. A TOTAL LIE. Thankfully I took a picture of the odometer, fuel gauge and miles until empty. I WILL NOT BE PAYING THE FPO CHARGE! And... I WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN! I will also be telling EVERYONE I come in contact with about your lying and deceptive practices, as well as the Better Business Bureau.

    After speaking with a man at the counter and having a manager come over as well to help reserve a car. I explicitly asked not to have any upgrades in vehicles or any further fees for our car and wanted to make sure all the charges were on one credit card and there were no further charges. I was assured by both employee & manager the final total and so I signed for this. Only later I find out that I was charged an extra $150 for an upgrade because I reserved it on Priceline and they lied to me about the extra charges.

    I originally called to get things straightened out because I would not have reserved a car for 3 days at over $120 a day had I known what I was paying for and the customer service representative told me that I should’ve read the contract better and that it was my fault and she did not care that I was misled because I signed the contract which I was never able to read on the small credit card processing machine. I’m beyond disappointed with this company and will most likely never use them again nor recommend them to anybody because they have no compassion or care for their customers.

    I have been a loyal renter and E-Z member for many years. On the new website you have the option to pay now for a better rate. Which I did yesterday - checked the prices today only to find the same car for $57.00 less. I went to cancel the reservation in order to save some money only to find that E-Z now charges $50.00 to cancel. I can understand if it was less than 24 hours before, but my trip is 2 weeks away and I booked less than 24 hours ago. I also sent 2 emails regarding the fact that the website will not accept Canadian addresses when trying to book. Nobody replied to my emails.

    I then called and spent 29 minutes on hold before I was able to speak with a supervisor to help me. The supervisor then told me just to enter a US friend's address... What? Anyways, I entered the address of the hotel and booked the car as I was pretty much fed up. The car is now booked and to cancel will cost me $50.00. With the old booking system, you were able to book a car and cancel if you found a better rate with no penalty. Sorry, you have just lost a loyal customer.

    Made reservation through Travelocity for economy car for Thanksgiving, secured by credit card. Received confirmation #s both from Travelocity & from E-Z. Upon arrival - no car. E-Z’s response? "Since made thru 3rd party 'not our problem.'" Alternatives given were - get a hotel, hope for car tomorrow, but by the way 8 people ahead of you, OR you can get this upgraded vehicle (our last one) for three times the cost.

    Oh, and our shuttle stopped running so we can’t take you back to terminal. Knew poor odds getting a car thru someone else on holiday weekend so took the “last car.” Never even heard of this rental company before so wouldn’t have even rented from them if wasn’t through Travelocity (have until this had good experiences with them). Not impressed with EZ’s business practice. I don’t trust them, and think throwing Travelocity under bus pretty slimy. Only reason not one star is car was in good condition.

    The worst rental car company! First I booked my flight and rental car together no problem. I go to pickup the rental car at E-Z Rent-A-Car. The lady at the front desk get all my information then tells me I can only drive the car for 150 miles per day plus a 200 deposit. She went on to tell me that every rental company was doing that! I was like wow! I don't rent cars a lot so I thought she was telling the truth. Come to found out she lied about that and that was only their company policies. So I called customer service twice. The representatives gave me a very hard time. Wouldn't transfer me to a manager or supervisor so I could express my concerns. So today I returned the vehicle, full tank of gas and everything. Going through to return the car the gentleman asked if everything looked okay before closing out the contract. I looked at the tablet and I said no. They was charging me $530.00 so he if I had my contract.

    I showed him my contract, he said, "Wow. Go to the front desk and show them your contract." I went to the front desk showed him my contract. The guy at the front desk said I owed 1,000.00. I asked why, he said, "Because you was supposed to return the car at 11:00 am." I said no my contract says 4:30 pm and the time was 3:00 pm! Then he said, "You went over your miles." I said,"How and how many." He said, "A lot!" I told him, "That's impossible because I barely drove the car." So the issue gets resolved. Barely wanted to apologize for their error!

    So I called customer service again, this time I speak to a manager! She's just as rude! I explain to her what happened. She wasn't hearing it! Well what happened was the true mileage was not reported accurately so when I returned the car it looked like I drove over a 1000+ miles. I ended up hanging up because the issue was not getting solved. Just don't rent a car from them. Seemed like they was trying to found a reason to charge me more! If you have to rent with them I highly recommend taking a picture of the mileage when you get the car and when you return the car just so you know exactly how many miles you used! Because clearly someone is not doing their job!

    It is my fervent belief that E-Z Rent-A-Car has been built to easily rip you off. Use a more reputable car rental service provider. My experience with their customer service was awful. I did not think I needed to present proof of insurance, as the first proof of insurance clause stated that I would only need it if I was under the age of 25. They told me I had not clearly read the local renter clause that negates the validity of the proof of insurance clause. The local renter clause says you need proof of insurance. That means the first clause is no longer valid. Company line: "Read the fine print."

    I was originally told the hold would be $200. Arrive, am told it's $350. I dropped the reservation after this, as I quickly looked up their reviews online and discovered that they were notorious for not returning holds and charging for random fees. Company line when I asked about the discrepancy? You guessed it, "Read the fine print."

    The local driver's fee is quite the heist. The customer service associate actually told me, "If you don't want to pay $20 per day fee, buy a roundtrip ticket". Hmmmm... So helpful. Company line? You guessed it again, "Read the fine print." Take a look at the past 60 days of their reviews, and you will see a standard answer they offer up:

    "Thank you for contacting Advantage Rent A Car. After further investigation and reviewing your Rental Agreement we found that you signed accepting the "fill in what they say you agreed to". When you signed your Agreement you acknowledged that you had the opportunity to read through the Agreement before signing to verify all charges were correct. Because you signed agreeing to all charges, a refund is not applicable. Thank you and hope that you will allow us the opportunity to serve you again in the near future."

    That is their status quo, because they create agreements that require you to put your lawyer eyes on to understand. They lean on a complicated and confusing renter's agreement that gets lost on websites and through 3rd party providers. It is apparently all in the fine print. But, what you won't find in the fine print is that EZ and Advantage are built to take as much money away from you as possible. Do yourself a favor. Pay the few dollars more and stick with a reputable company that knows how to treat you right. You get what you pay for, and in this instance, it's not worth the pain and suffering.

    Reserved a compact car, got there at our time indicated for pickup. Person at counter claimed only a minivan was available despite our expressed desire for what we reserved. She continued to insist nothing was available but a minivan and it would be at the reserved rate. We still insisted on what we wanted. We got to the garage to pick up the car and the E-Z area had several compacts and she gave us a Suburban. We were beyond mad. People behind us getting cars got smaller cars than us. We were in an unfamiliar city, Seattle. Difficulty finding a space at hotel that fit the Suburban. I would never recommend this company or use them.

    In September 2017, E-Z Rent-A-Car had a promotion where the rental fee for an economic car model was $5 per day plus tax and insurance, so I rented a Honda Civic from them for 4 days, and the estimated total cost for 4 days was around $80 when I placed my order online. After 4 days when I returned the car, I got a bill of $450! And they were telling you this and that fees were mandatory by the Ontario government, and they shut me down and wouldn't talk to me. THEY ARE SUCH A RIPOFF!!! NEVER EVER rent a car from E-Z Rent-A-Car!!!

    I needed to rent a vehicle to drive from Denver, CO to South Fork, CO pick up 10/11/17 return 10/20/17. Online quote for the time frame 241.34 incl taxes and other vague fees. When I arrived at that rental area it was busy but waited a short time. I told the counter person Megan at that time that "I would return the car at 2pm not 12 noon. Will there be an up charge if I'm later than noon?" She said a "few dollars by the hours".

    I also made Megan very AWARE that I was driving south to South Fork area. When she heard this she asked if I wanted to upgrade to a 4WD? Myself and my sons declined. She put us in an escape anyway. With her asking about a 4WD she should have known then that there were no toll roads in the area. She was persuasive with the EZ toll info though. Stated more roads are now tolls. I would possibly be fined if I went through them by accident, so I said OK as I haven't been there in a year I trusted her. I also bought the fuel option. My bill then went to 381.19.

    When I returned the car the young man stated he would e-mail the final receipt. Returned the car with 3/4 tank. When I finally got the chance to see the emailed receipt we were on our way to catch our flight home to PA. The final bill was 418.73. He also has that there was 3/8 gas. Quite a difference from 3/4?? Should have been a non-issue as I bought the FPO. It was 177.39 More than the online quote, 37.54 dollars more than quoted fee at sign on. Maybe they saw an elderly single female in a line of people waiting and thought easy sell for extras that really weren't needed!!!

    When I did get a chance to review the Colorado Toll Road Map, there are no toll roads anywhere near where I was driving. If I didn't specifically tell her where I was driving I could understand her concern for possible toll charges. But I was specific as to the area of travel. I booked EZ because it was the best online quote price. It was better than the competitors. Little did I know about the hidden and or unnecessary charges! Since our family member has moved to Colorado many other family members will be visiting your amazing state. They most likely will be needing to rent vehicles. I can't say at this point in time if I would recommend EZ.

    I feel that some form of financial adjustment is in order as the final charge was 177.39 more from the online quote and 34.54 from the sign on. YES I realize that "on the paper rental record" by signing below... BUT you never get a chance to see the final total. I’ll just "send it to your e-mail" sign here! They know you are from out of state and need to catch a flight or other transportation and they GOT you. Again, I cannot say if I would recommend EZ to family members in the future. Considering the issues as noted above. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!

    Be cautious when renting a car from E-Z Rent-A-Car. After arriving in Orlando Florida, I went to the E-Z Rent-A-Car area and I was checked in by Ahmad. Ahmad DID NOT go over the extra charges I would faced with in regards to the collision damage waiver (CDW) and additional driving cost. I was charged an additional $12.99 per day for adding an extra driver and $25.49 for the CDW. When I called the company after receiving the final invoice and called to dispute it, a representative called me back on October 19, 2017.

    I talked to Ahmad and he said he would only refund the additional driver cost of $77.94 for the 5 days, but not the $152.94 cost of the Collision Damage Waiver. I was not reimbursed for either of this items and I did NOT receive a callback from the manager. I consider myself to be a knowledgeable consumer, but the rental agreement is made to be complicated to someone, especially after flying for half the day. E-Z Rent-A-Car is possibly in violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA).

    Please DO NOT TRUST the 5 star reviews for this company since there is the possibility they were submitted by employees or agents from the company. Many others have similar issues with the E-Z Rent-A-Car as well. Trust the 1 star reviews! Be leery when renting from this company at the Orlando International Airport location.

    I traveled from Colorado Springs to Houston for business, arriving the 24th of September through October 13th. I'd made reservations to pick up a rental car for a good price - about 600 dollars. When I'd arrived, I waited over an hour for the single employee working to process seven customers. She hurried through my check-in, sign here, initial here, that sort of thing. Told me, and this is key here, that E-Z Advantage would be HOLDING $1400.00 on my credit card to cover any potential damage fees or if I didn't return with a full tank of gas. Animated about this, reasonably, I made sure that she promise that I'd only be charged the original amount I'd reserved for, and she swore emphatically that I would. She even upsized the size of my rental car, which was kind.

    I returned the vehicle to IAH Airport on October 13th. The agent that processed the transaction informed me that I was billed $1,418.77. Confused, I asked about these charges and he told me, much like the first agent, that I'd only be charged the original amount. Skeptical, I contacted customer service by calling 800-277-5171. The agent not only confirms that I was "correctly" charged $1,418.77, but that this is now a closed contract and there's nothing to be done. I request to speak to a supervisor. This has gone too far. I remain on hold for 41 minutes until the call drops at 1:53 PM. I'm never contacted about the issue.

    Look, I work in the energy industry. I'll survive if I never get the money back. If this is how business is conducted, though? Then Monday morning, 35,000 BH employees get the email to never use E-Z Advantage. Then the 330,000 employees of my parent company. Embarrassing. What a hassle. What a nightmare experience.

    Rented a Sonata or equivalent for my wife through Car.com. Tried to give me a stripped Kia RIO. Ended up the the lowest grade Camry that was several years old and had NO spare tire. The car was filthy inside and out and covered with so many bugs you could hardly see out of the windshield. The seats were stained everywhere. Ended up taking the car back as the left rear window was stuck open from trying to cool the car off from sitting in the sun. Also NO Roadside Assistance included. I asked what she would do if she got a flat and they said call AAA (AAA would not have had a spare tire anyway) which we do not have or need as our primary car has Roadside Assistance included so no need for AAA.

    After taking the Toyota back and complaining, E-Z said they would upgrade it to a new 2018 Toyota with a spare tire and 1400 miles and added Roadside Assistance for $7. My wife was doing the paperwork at the counter and the had her initial something to make the change. Turns out the rental went from $139 to $214 which I did not catch right away and being as we were short on time we were stuck. E-Z Rent-A-Car is a disaster of a company with extremely poor customer service. I recommend you avoid E-Z Rent-A-Car or their companion company Advantage. Stick with the name brands even if it costs a little more.

    The Good News: On July 28, 2016 I rented a car from E-Z in Salt Lake City. I initialed the Collision Damage Waiver and was charged nothing for insurance as the note regarding CDW stated, "By initialing here you decline to purchase our CDW and you agree to be responsible for all damage to or loss of the Vehicle." The Bad News: Just a year later on August 4, 2017 I rented a car from E-Z in Atlanta. I initialed the Collision Damage Waiver and was charged $82.47, $27.49 per day for 3 days! When I later read the fine print in the note regarding the CDW on the Atlanta contract it stated, "By initialing here you AGREE TO PURCHASE [my emphasis] CDW. CDW does not cover all... [three more lines of legalisms]... $27.49 per day.

    The word 'waiver' in the Atlanta contract was twisted to be contradictory to its use in the SLC contract and contradictory to its meaning! Merriam-Webster gives the definition of waiver as, "the act of intentionally relinquishing or abandoning a known right, claim, or privilege." How could one be agreeing to purchase insurance when initialing a waiver which means they are 'relinquishing or abandoning' the right to insurance? This is outright fraud!

    The same fraudulent contradictory wording occurs on the Fuel Purchase Option. The SLC contract states: “By initialing here, you decline to purchase either FPO and you agree to either (A) return the Vehicle with the fuel gauge reading at least the same level as when rented, or (B) pay us an estimated refueling fee based on the cost of $... per gallon. You will not receive a credit if you return the Vehicle with more fuel than rented.” The phrase, “pay us an estimated refueling fee” appears to indicate that one would pay for the amount of fuel used. In contrast, the Atlanta contract states: “By initialing here, you agree to purchase FPO fuel at the beginning of the rental. No refueling fees will apply if you return the Vehicle with less fuel than when rented. You will not receive a refund or credit for unused fuel. $2.70 per gallon.”

    The fraud in this case is that the agent told me that the cost would be about the same if I refueled to the same level as at rental or purchased the FPO. However, the only way one would come out about the same is if the Vehicle was brought back with an empty tank (unlikely unless one risks running out of gas) as FPO charges for the full amount of gas the tank holds. I used about 4 gallons ($10.80 at $2.70 per gallon), but paid $43.07 for nearly 16 gallons! The total fraudulent charges were ($43.07 - $10.80) + $82.47 (the CDW) = $114.74, a 69% overcharge.

    The signature block on the contract says, “…You have had the opportunity to read… (the agreement)". But in reality you don’t. It took about 15 minutes waiting in line to get to the counter, and when I was there many were waiting behind me. Because of this, you trust the integrity of known established companies (E-Z has been in existence for 23 years) as you can’t hold up the line at counter reading all the fine print (the agreement contains approximately 4,500 words including the back side). Note that on consumeraffairs.com regarding the approval rating for E-Z Rental over the past year, 36% of the ratings were ones on a 1-5 scale. To top that, the combined one and two ratings add up to a whopping 47%! E-Z Rental has apparently exploited nearly half of their customers!

    I needed to rent a car to go see my mother, who lived in another state and was having a medical emergency. I reserved a car for a total price, including all fees, of $33.53. I have rented approximately a hundred cars in my lifetime, so I was very familiar with the procedure and I didn't expect any problem. When I arrived at their pick-up location, I had to wait half an hour for their shuttle, while all the other companies' shuttles passed by every 10 minutes. Then, after I finally arrived at the desk, I was surprised with a bunch of additional requirements for "local renters." Apparently, those who reside within a 65 mile radius of the rental location are subject to a $350 deposit, we need to show our current personal automobile insurance policy declarations, and we are not entitled to the unlimited mileage as promised on the original agreement.

    We only have the option to "purchase" unlimited mileage for an additional $20 per day, or pay 55 cents for each mile over 250. My confirmation email had told me NONE of this. These features are buried in a tiny little link for terms and conditions, which is full of unprofessional grammar and misspellings. I left and had to walk to another rental agency, where I was issued a vehicle with much better terms, but this incident caused a big delay for me, and my attempt to recover the lost time resulted in a speeding ticket, my first moving violation in 25 years. So, that falsely advertised $33.53 ended up costing me more than $200, but at least I got to see my mother one last time before she passed away.

    On 10/8/17 I arrived in Orlando Florida and went to pick up my reservation from E-Z Rent A Car. When reviewing option I was asked if I wanted to to pay for fuel after returning the vehicle which I agreed. I was told that the cost would be $30.49 at $2.41 a gallon which was okay. I was then asked if I want premium or basic insurance for the vehicle which I said basic since my credit card covers everything and I don't need it. He then said, "Just go ahead and sign for the vehicle" and said "5 screens will pop up just initial and hit accept." He then showed me by saying, "Initial here" and he scrolled with the pen and hit okay on the first screen.

    Turns out the charge of 30.49 was not for gas but for insurance which I said I did not want. I called customer service when I arrived at the hotel 30min away and was told that I would have to drive back to resolve. I explained that is not really possible as of the time needed is not practical while I'm on vacation. I went to explain that I was mislead by what I signed and considering that the first thing signed is the item the representative scrolled past for me. I feel that this was a ploy to get an additional sale. I have no need for this coverage and was told by customer service they can't help. In the end I was overcharged $182.94.

    We've been 2 days late to our holiday in Orlando and missed booked car with another company so had to look for new car. Freddie at EZ cars was very pleasant to arrange a car for $20 a day for 5 days, but initial bill came to $600. Surprise, surprise, welcome to Orlando. Our previously booked car was around $160 so it didn't look right. It's our first trip to US, so we have to rely on honesty of service providers. Then eventually he reduced to $500 as there are actually 5 days from 18 to 23 September.

    It was explained that we are charged just for insurance we need to have, and wasn't in my previous rental, therefore the price difference. I checked once again at the hotel our previous reservation and went following day to desk to complain about the price and the car (internal power point not working). They gave us upgrade and reduced price to $358.84 but the total I was charged is $404.51. This price meddling is totally unfair. They charge double compared with Internet price plus balloon price for unaware people coming the first time. On the website there is no email address provided to contact directly.

When you signed your Agreement you acknowledged that you had the opportunity to read through the Agreement before signing to verify all charges were correct.     I rented a car in E-Z Rent-A-Car at Miami airport on 08th Sep. Picked up the car in the morning at 10:00am and I was going in the Road to New Orleans. When I was near the Lamont, FL, the battery Light in red appears in the panel and 5 mins after that appears in the panel the yellow alert called "malfunction" and after 2 mins the car started to decrease the speed and when try to accelerate, there was no answer (just drive at 2 mph) and for my Lucky, I can took the exit to Lamont city and park the car into a Mobil gas station at 19:00. After park, I started to check the car and called to E-Z car to request assistance, but after talk for sometime with the attendant, I was informed that regarding Irma hurricane, no one can help me and said to me to try to call again on the next day in the morning.

    So I tried to find a hotel/motel at the city for me and my wife sleep but all were sold out with no vacancy, so we needed to sleep inside the car at the gas station! In the morning, I tried to start the engine and the same issue and lights in the panel, so I asked for a person in the gas station to do a jump start regarding that he had cables and we did it and nothing change so I called again to E-Z car and Talked with Raquel and explained to her all the situation and she said to me if it was possible to go to Jacksonville, FL with the car (but the car was with problem and no way to drive the car) and also regarding Irma evacuation at Florida, the truck towing didn't accept to pick up the car and go to Jacksonville, so I said to Raquel that I needed to leave the car at the Lamont city and after someone from E-Z car take the car (because I will not stay in the car until Someone probably on Tuesday can take the car).

    After drop the line with Raquel, I found a truck towing near the gas station and asked him for help and he also tried to do jump start with no success and after check more deeper he looked that the belt was cutted so for this reason had the issue. So to leave the car in a more safety place I paid him US$ 175,00 to go to Tallahassee International airport and we left the car inside the long term park on the third spot on the right, with the GPS inside the trunk, all doors locked and the key I put inside the little door to access the gasoline tank nozzle.

    After that I needed to pay US$ 700.00 for a Taxi to go with me and my wife to New Orleans. For all these reasons I request the refund of the value that I paid in the credit card US$ 1073,51, because I rent the car to go out of Florida (Irma evacuation) and I had a headache with the car at the same day that was rented to me with bad maintenance (for this reasons the belt broke). I already explain this situation by phone and informed that the car has been moved from Lamont to Tallahassee airport and Biron (E-Z car) said me that someone from Jacksonville will Pick up the car in the Tallahassee airport.

    Arrived at DFW this afternoon, 30 Sep 17, went to EZ counter to pick up the car rental. I am the only customer in the line, the young lady behind the counter was just sitting there staring at me... Finally, she motioned for me to approach after 19 minutes, then starts going over rules about renting a car. I told her my name and gave her my credit card and license, then she asks for a 'declaration'. Kept insisting I needed to provide this document and reciting some rule. I ask her if she was having a bad day based on her tone, but she just kept reciting this rule.

    I explain I have rented from this company before and never had to provide a declaration. I still don't know what that is, at any rate, she appeared to be irritated that I was even there. I asked if I could just cancel my reservation, she said I could at no charge, so I asked her to cancel and then I proceeded to one of the other companies, and it took about 15 minutes for me to sign the contract and drive off the lot.

    I called customer service to make sure the reservation had been cancelled and some guy named George wants to read some policy. I ask to speak to a manager and there is no manager. I just want a refund for a service I was not provided. I don't get how a clerk can decide who gets waited on, and if they are having a bad day, why can't they just take a break or something? All I wanted to do was pick up the car I rented, that's it. I fly into DFW four times a year and will never rent from EZ again! Worst service ever!

    I upgraded my car after an over hour wait in line. My sister just passed and I was in a hurry. They charged me 775 dollars for a 6 day rental. I tried to dispute this charge later and was put on hold and given the runaround. I am very displeased. Who pays 775 or over 100 dollars a day for a car? Their customer service wasn't helpful at all. They said I needed to talk to the place I rented from but couldn't give me a number!

    I am extremely angry with E-Z Rent-A-Car in not conducting business with honesty. They are charging me USD414 instead of USD197.46 and giving reason for something didn't take place! One claimed that I returned the car on Aug 22 and another claimed that I needed to pay for fuel. During checking out of my rented car on Aug 17, I was told to pay a refundable deposit of USD200. Upon returning of my car on Aug 20, I was expecting a refund on deposit of USD200. I checked my online credit card statement and I had been charged USD414 on Aug 20. I wrote emails to them with no reply. I decided to have someone called them and obtained reasons for things didn't take place! (1) Extra 2 days rental: Check your CCTV that I had returned the car on Aug 20! And you might have rented the same car out on Aug 20 to another person. (2) Fuel charges: I had paid for fuel package! AA should have a record that I left on Aug 20.

    We reserved a Nissan Sentra to pick up at the LAX location on Aug 27. Obtaining the vehicle was not difficult - we did not experience the delays encountered by other reviewers. We were given a Nissan Sentra that appeared to be clean and in reasonably good condition. However, after we had driven a considerable distance from the rental lot, we discovered that the vehicle lacked electrical windows and door locks. This turned out to be highly inconvenient when dealing with passengers. I don't believe we have rented a car lacking electrical windows and door locks since these amenities became generally available back in the 80's or so. I mean, how cheap can you get?

    I had been told that E-Z Rent-A-Car was within the Jacksonville airport. Not. When I arrived at the counter the young woman was smarmy and sarcastic, and gave me the keys and told me to go "find my car" by using the key fob. When I got on the highway, I saw to my horror that the gas tank was completely empty. I quickly stopped and filled up the tank. As I got back on the highway, a large roach crawled across the dash. When I returned the vehicle, there was a line and the man took my keys, tossed them in a chair and said he would send me an email receipt the same day. I am still waiting. When I arrived at my destination, I called customer service to report the empty tank. I was given a case number and told I would be called within 24 hours. It's been 3 days and I am still waiting.

    Car rental reservation made weeks in advance. Arrived at pick up location and the lines were 2 hours. Multiple staff chairs were empty. Not worth the money saved. Don't rent from them unless you like standing in line for hours. This is my second experience with them like this. Horrible company.

    We had reserved a car through EZ rental car in Orlando. At the airport when we went to pick it up, it was supposed to be 170 dollars, when we finished it was 314 dollars. The attendant at the counter was very rude, never was told about second driver fee that came to 65 dollars for the week. Just seemed not to care. When we went to pick up car it was dirty and full of scratches and smelled like someone tried to cover up smoke. We wanted a full size car, felt like the one we got was too small and they did not want to hear it, then again the people were rude and did not care. It was like you rented it you live with it.     EZ Rental Car ABQ - I had a premium car booked and they DID NOT have one and did NOT adjust the price. They charged almost $13 a day for my spouse to drive and did NOT inform me (my BAD) since I already had looked at the contract and then asked them to add her and I did not look at it closely the second time. I turned the car in TWO hours before it would count as the 5th day in the contract and they changed the rate and increased the price by about $60. After discussing this with the manager (Jesse) they finally reduced it about $40 and the manager was VERY rude. He accused me of belittling him simply because I did not agree with him.

    It was worst rental experience I ever had. They use low rate to lure people and find all excuses to charge more. A lot of rental companies do not have mileage charges but they do. When I said I have insurance at home they asked me to provide insurance certificate? The rental was done at Toronto airport Aug 10 thru Aug 15. For 6 days they charged Can Dollars 707.52. It is about $520. The quote was $266.00 about double. They also charge any days car in US. Never heard anything like this in my whole life. I don't recommend anyone do business with EZ Rent-A-Car.

    I rented a car at Orlando airport. I waited on line for 45 minutes to rent a car with only 3 people in front of me. They charged me for 2 days and I only had it one day. After vacation I call customer service and they create a "ticket number" and someone will call me within 24 hrs. This was after being on the phone for 1 1/2 hrs 50% of the time on hold. Of course no one calls.

    I call back a week later. 1st they tell me they can not find the ticket number. I give them the contract number and they find the ticket but said their are no notes written in it. They offered to refund me for the insurance I took out on car. I decline because they over charged me double. They get annoyed I won't accept and I ask to speak with a supervisor and he is also rude and annoyed I won't accept $25 refund. I will never rent from them again.

    I rent a standard car for 3 days with PREPAID reservation from 10:00 PM Aug 4 to 7:30 PM Aug 7, 2017. My flight come late, I reached E-Z Kiosk at 12 midnight, E-Z Representative (Melinda) told me that they have only Van and SUV left, and they gave me an SUV with extra charge $10 more per day. I disagreed, but have no choice at 12 midnight. When I come to parking lot I saw 3 small cars on the E-Z parking lot. I should pay extra $39 ($30+tax and fees) and over $50 for extra SUV gas.

    After trip, I returned the SUV at 5:23PM Aug 7, 2017 and complained to a Supervisor (I forgot to get her name). In the beginning, The Supervisor told me that I should pay extra because I have not prepaid for rental. After I proved that I paid whole trip in advance, she told me that I signed agreement for upgrading, so they shouldn't refund extra charge. Flight coming late happened to me many times in last over 30 years, but other Car Rental Agents have never charged extra if they should give me an upgrade car because of small cars were run-out. Stay away from E-Z Rent-A-Car!!!

    I made the reservation from Expedia.com. Picked up the car at Seattle Tacoma Airport rental car facility on July 25, 12:00 pm, sharp, and returned the car at July 29, 11:20 am. After couple days after I left Seattle, I received a phone call asking me when I am planning to return the car. It turns out they didn't have the correct record of which car I actually took, and didn't have record or camera video to verify if I had returned the car or not. The next day after I talked to the customer services and the facility staff, I was charged another 195.57 cents for no reason. This has been a very disappointing experience renting cars from this company. By talking to the customer service twice, to the facility staff twice, I wasted my time.

    Sooo bad. They just want to charge you more. They won't tell you what it's gonna be charged clearly. And the service is sooo awful. After been the whole processes of cancellation, I am pretty sure even though they charged me $100 cancellation fee, I am 100% sure I need to cancel it because I don't want a stupid car rental dealer to mess up my trip. They said on website and email said there will be a $50 cancellation fee for each reservation, but is not!!! I look it up and double check it, cannot find it! My recommendation is, DON'T BOOK THIS COMPANY. You will be so regret if you did.

    Don't rent a car with this company. The guy (Ali) at the Las Vegas airport tries to sell you a insurance and lies about the total cost of it. He said to me it will cost you about 200 dollars more, but in the end it costet me almost 700 dollars more! (48USD per day, 2 weeks total). If I would know the total at this time I would never ever agree with it, because the total amount would exceed my budget by far. Rip off strategy, seen that before.     I prepaid my car rental for my trip to Las Vegas. When I arrived at the counter the agent asked if I was going to use their insurance. I said since I have my own insurance which covers rentals. Then he noticed that I prepaid and informed me that an additional $200 deposit was being placed on my credit card. I asked him why? He said it was to ensure I would bring the car back. I was now pissed and I asked him did he think I was going to take back to Virginia? Finally, the car that was given to me was not clean. It was a car that had manual windows and a poor running a/c. This car rental company is total garbage! Stay away and never rent from them.

    My wife and I flew to Montreal on July 1. We went to the rental car office and could not find E-Z Rent-A-Car. There are counters of many car rental companies. I could not find the counter or a sign for E-Z Rent-A-Car. I called the company's local contact number 514-636-3332 and left voicemail. I also talked to Expedia and they could not talk to a live person either. After 1 1/2 hour of waiting and calling, we decide to rent a car from Alamo. This was my worst experience with any rental car company. Another family with four kids had the same bad experience as ours. It is not acceptable to treat customers in this way. As of today, I have not got any response to my voicemail. I wrote a message to the company through Contact Us on the company website a week ago. I have not received any response from them.

    When you make a booking online, they advertise unlimited mileage... but when you go to pick up the car, they tell you it's limited to 200 kms per day if you are a local resident. They tell you to refer to their terms and conditions which are fine prints and very hard to read when you are trying to book a car online. Why don't they make it clear and bold that it is not unlimited kilometers for local residents. It is false advertisement. They are fooling people and people end up paying for extra mileage when they return their rentals. By then, it is already too late and nothing can be done. What a scam!!!

    My son and I flew into Denver airport and booked a rental car online and paid ahead for the rental. First the guy at E-Z rental told us we would need to add the $10 toll charge to our bill since we would be going through tolls on our trip to Colorado Springs. (A lie) We were booked from April 22-24. We returned the car on the 24th as planned but had to drop off the car at a different location since E-Z was closed. Well imagine my surprise when I get my credit card statement and find out they charged me an extra $246 for what they stated, "returned on the 28th". They charged me for 4 days that I never even had the car!! We are still disputing the charge with our credit card company because E-Z is still claiming we had the car for the 4 days we didn't! We even have copies of our airline booking! Do not rent from this Denver location, they are scam artists!!

When I tried to rent and supplied my Canadian drivers license I was told that they required my passport which I had left with my wife back at the terminal 20 minutes away.     We booked a car using OneTravel for $130,38 and during the check in at the EZ store located on 14500 Global Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33913, the attendant ** mentioned that they would hold $200 on top of what I owned as a deposit (total of $327.38, I had paid $3 when I did the reservation in order to hold it) and the $200 would be released from my account when the vehicle is returned. We asked 2-3 times if it would be done with no issues and she confirmed all the times and said to don't worry about that because it was a security procedure only.

    After that she asked me to sign the contract electronically (using the small screen used for credit cards) and then I asked her if I had to sign (if it was mandatory) because I didn't agree with the contract and she told us that I must sign the contract agreeing with all terms to get the car. And as I didn't agree with the contract I asked her if the total that I would be charged would be only $127.38 plus the hold of $200. Then I asked her why the values in the contract was different (higher) and she told me that it is because of the system and she couldn't change it and said again to don't worry about the value because I would be charged only $127.38. So I signed the contract to get the car. She charged my credit card and said that I would receive the receipt by email which I never received. And I asked again if the $200 would be released/refunded to my CC upon vehicle's return and she confirmed one more time.

    When I returned the vehicle with no issues I asked again about the $200 and the attendant that inspected the car and processed the return confirmed that the amount would be refunded to my credit card but it would take up to 10 days. Past a few days since we returned the car (on July 4th) I called EZ just to make sure I would get my refund of $200 and the attendant confirmed the $200 would be refunded to my account and said it was a normal procedure. I checked my credit card statement and the transaction was still pending, which indicates the amount wasn't confirmed yet. So I thought that when the transaction is confirmed the $200 would be removed. When I checked my credit card statement again 2 days later the amount charged was including the $200 and at this time the transaction was confirmed.

    So I called EZ on Friday (Jul 7th) to see what was going on and to ask about my refund. The attendant told me the store was closed at that time (~7PM EST) and someone would call me on Monday (Jul 10th) to check when I would get my refund and said again that it was a normal procedure and I would be refunded. Today I got a call from EZ and I asked again when I'd be refunded and I was told that there were nothing to be refunded because the total charged was correctly according to the contract. I explained the whole situation again and the attendant kept insisting that I had signed the contract and I wouldn't be refunded. I kept arguing the total was not correct and asked if she could do anything to help me and again she answered that I didn't have any amount to be refunded. Then the call dropped.

    I called again and had to explain the whole situation another time and I got no answer. I don't know what to do, the attendant forced me to sign a contract to get the car and I trusted her and now I'm in this situation where my reservation receipt shows one amount and the real amount charged is more than double. Another point is, the car was completely dirt inside and smelling so bad. This is the worse company ever. I will never rent a car with them again. They have a bad service, they lie to customers and don't care about their customers. They will make everything to get your money.

    Rented a car on the E-Z website. Quoted for $390 total. They checked me in said almost $1000. I said I don't need insurance, I have full coverage. I don't think I need the toll road coverage either. They said I had to get collision and I really needed to toll package. I absolutely did not need the collision and I haven't even seen a toll road. WHAT A RIPOFF!!! Ended up still having to pay almost $700, even after I showed them my online quote. I will never trust this company with my business again and neither should anybody.

    Pre-paid for a car with EZ at Fort Myer. Offered a "free" upgrade by the check in clerk who knew we were in a hurry to get to an event. Checked the bottom line on the receipt, questioned the amount, and was told it was the charges for the 200.00 deposit which would not be charged if the car was returned full, in the same condition upon turn in. I was instructed to pull the car up along a line of returned car and leave the keys in it. A "final invoice" would be emailed. I questioned that system with the people at the desk, and was told that's how they operate.

    The invoice I received showed an upgrade (to a car the next size larger) for the ridiculous amount of $109.00 more. Advised by them I should have looked at the receipt more carefully, and not taken the word of the agent. So lesson learned. Won't ever use them again. I've been traveling for 40 years, had "upgrades" offered a number of times, and have never had anything like that happen. You'll wait for the shuttle to pick you up, the car was just over 3/4 full, not full. On the shuttle back to the airport two other parties were complaining about the service and worried about leaving the car without an actual check in and receiving an actual invoice. Won't ever use this company again.

    I booked a Jeep on 6/14/2017 for my trip to Maui. Glad I called to tell them to see if they could work around my late arrival. (Standard pickup time is 10:30 am). I was told that if I was not there by 12:30 pm, my car (the Jeep) would no longer be available EVEN THOUGH I HAD BOOKED THE CAR AND WAS WILLING TO PAY UPFRONT IF NEEDED TO SECURE THE CAR!!! What is the point of booking if they will not hold a car for you??

    Just to add to my frustration, I could barely understand the person on the phone and continually had to ask them to repeat things. I asked if they would extend an upgrade to make up for the inconvenience of finding out last minute that my car would be unavailable. I was told no and was given the number for Expedia to cancel. That's exactly what I did - cancelled! Do NOT waste your time booking a car with them. The Hawaii location is very unprofessional and couldn't care less about customer service I'm afraid. Very disappointed about being treated as if I were an inconvenience to them!!

    I am writing my review from the lobby of this car rental place during my 4th of July holiday vacation with my family. We made a reservation through the internet. I got a really good deal. The website asked for a pickup time and I entered after 9 am. When we arrived at the airport the shuttle bus driver tells us that if our reservation is more than an hour old, our reservation had been canceled and we needed to make a new one with new charges and not previously reserved charges. He assured us that we could get a car, but not for the price we reserved. This is price gauging and I will never recommend this place to anyone. We are now stranded with no car on our family vacation because we cannot afford the extra costs.

    The agent intentionally mislead me about the gas refill service. I should have known better. Never once did she say there was a surcharge. All she pointed out was how much cheaper the price per gallon was. She acted like it was a no brainer. I knew I was only going to be driving the car a short distance and ended up only using about 2 gallons of gas. Those 2 gallons of gas cost me about $27.00. This experience makes me wonder if the sales agents get paid commission on selling this service and therefore are intentionally misleading customers.

    My husband and I had a horrible experience at the EZ Rent a Car at the Fort Myers airport location. To start off, the rep talked us into upgrading our car to a sporty vehicle. My husband agreed, but only if it was a V8 (he wanted to enjoy the power of a V8 while on vacation) so the rep set us up, we packed all of our luggage inside, (and I will point out the car smelled slightly like a dirty dog and the outside of the car had not been cleaned) but, we drove away. A mile down the road my husband noticed the vehicle didn't have the power he thought it should, so he got out and looked under the hood and noticed it was a V6. So, we went back to the rental place, only to be told by the rep "Oh, I thought it was a V8".

    After another 30 mins, my husband decided we would just take the original car that we originally paid for and the sales rep told us that prepaying for the tank of gas there (and bring it back empty) was a better way to go, so we did. After unloading luggage and loading it up in another rental car, we started the new car only to see all of the "warning engine" lights on... So, back into the rental place my husband went.

    Another 30 mins later, another unloading and loading of luggage, we got into what would be our 3rd and final car (it too had a musty dog type odor). I would also like to point out that while me and my husband were spending the beginning of our vacation thrusting heavy luggage back and forth from rental car to rental car, we couldn't help but notice 4 sets of other unhappy guest, 2 of which cancelled their contracts right there on the spot, fighting with reps because they were overcharged for their rentals! We should have walked away, but we didn't.

    Ok, back to the story, we are now loaded into the 3rd car and the manager walks out to find out what's going on. After we tell him the story, my husband is super angry at this point (you can only imagine) so my husband tells him this is no way to run a business and I guess to calm my husband down, the manager finally agrees to give us a discount of about $70 off of our original bill. Sounds great, right? Not exactly.

    We leave there feeling a little better about what happened, enjoyed our vacation, returned the car, only to receive a final bill email later that afternoon that charged us an additional $100+ dollars over top of the agreed upon price! He tried to call them while we were waiting at the airport only to be told this charge was the $9+ dollars a gallon for bringing it back empty! When he tried to explain we already agreed and paid for that up front, then bring it back empty, the rep told him that wasn't the case. We will NEVER, EVER go to EZ rental again! Not only did they put a damper on the beginning of our trip, they also put a damper on the end of our trip. There wasn't ANYTHING easy about EZ Rent a Car!

    The process of renting online was great. The prices were better than others. What made me rate only a 3 is when we checked in, we were asked about adding driver and wasn't told about the fee. Also we were asked if we wanted to upgrade. I asked if the upgrade had a DVD player for the kids and the man said it did. After we signed for it he then said it didn't. Overall I would most likely rent from here again. I just would make sure to not upgrade or pay for another driver.

    I made a reservation with this car rental company a month ago and when I came to the airport in Phoenix Arizona at midnight, the lady at the front desk told us that they sold out all the cars. She just printed out a sheet of paper and said that we have to go to different car rental places and ask to price match. She just brushed us off and basically said good luck.

    We came to the car rental place at the designated time. We were not late to pick up the car. We went to a different car rental service from Payless and an employee from there trying doing whatever he could to get us a car. He offered us a car from his company that couldn't work out so he called every car rental company around and got us one. The employee from EZ car rental did not do a single thing to help us at midnight in the airport. We ended up paying triple the price because we were desperate for a car Seemed like she just wanted to brush us off.

    The next day we called the corporate office and they hung up on us 10 times. Then they offered us a 15% coupon if we rent with them. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL customer service. It didn't matter how many times we called them, they just brushed us off. Then we went to the car rental place and spoke to the manager at Phoenix. He just told us to call corporate. Which we did. They did not compensate for the difference that we had to pay triple the price because they screwed us over. They did absolutely nothing to help us out when we were desperate for a car.

    For a company called "E-Z" it was anything but. This company was a total nightmare to deal with from start to finish. When we got to the airport, we called the shuttle, per the instructions in the confirmation. It was a recorded message that told you where to wait and that the shuttles cycled through every 15 minutes or so. Fine. After half an hour, I called the office company and got a "We are currently helping other customers at the desk but please leave a detailed message and we will return your call."

    After another 20 minutes or so of waiting for the shuttle, and still no callback, I finally got through to a human using the 1-800 number. They told me the Tampa office had closed and that they had a formal agreement with another company -- Ace was now honoring all of their reservations, so I should get on that shuttle instead. That would have been nice information to have an hour earlier. It seems like that would have been a really easy thing to fix with a quick mention of this in their recorded messages. Had I not been able to get through to a person, there would have been no way of knowing this.

    After a 10 or 15 minute shuttle ride to Ace, I approached the counter with my reservation information in hand, and they frustratingly told me that they don't have any cars and that E-Z can't just keep sending them their customers. I tried to plead with them for a few minutes, but they were sold out and my reservation wasn't with them, they kept saying, it was with E-Z. When I said that I was told Ace was honoring E-Z's rentals, the guy said, "We try to help them out when we can, but they can't just send us a thousand reservations and expect us to take care of it." This was not the "formal agreement" mentioned on the phone.

    I got through to E-Z's customer service 1-800 number on the phone while sitting in the hot parking lot of Ace. The agent told me that Ace would give me a car. I kept trying to explain that I was calling from Ace, and clearly, that wasn't happening. Bottom line, after about ten minutes of back and forth it was clear that they weren't going to be able to honor my reservation. He tried to tell me I could take a shuttle back to the airport and they might be able to get another company to give me a car. At this point, we'd been trying to get a car for more than two hours, and had been standing outside in the 90 degree heat with our ten month old baby. I was not going back to the airport. The guy on the phone tried to tell me again that since I'd prepaid, they would find us a car. But I really didn't believe his ability to make that happen.

    I need to figure out how to get my money back (he tried to tell me that I needed to talk to Ace about getting reimbursed, but that didn't make any sense and I was getting really angry at this point so figured I would save that battle for another day). We had noticed another car rental place nearby on the shuttle, Sixt, and we walked over to see if they could help us. They gave us some water and a Camry. It was a little bit more expensive than my quoted reservation with E-Z, but hey, it existed, so that counts for a lot.

    Because seven (7) months after renting a car, I receive an invoice in the mail that states I owe $22.98 ($2.98 toll and $20 admin fees). Number one, I don't live and am not from Texas so I use Waze gps wherever I went during my visit. By default I, always, leave Waze on the feature to avoid tolls, so unless there was an invisible toll, I did not go through one. That was like my tenth (10th) visit to Texas for a Dallas Cowboys game and the first (1st) renting with E-Z Rent-a-Car. The previous nine (9) trips, I have never incurred toll charges during or in the mail after my visit. Something smells fishy about this transaction and I'm pretty sure it isn't me.

    Absolutely terrible - avoid at all costs. Had a confirmed reservation for 8 p.m. Arrived at 7:30 at the airport and boarded the Wally Park Shuttle, as instructed. They told me to get off as the rental place was closed. Called the 800 number and received negative help (still before the confirmed pick up time). They told me to come back tomorrow, even after I explained that I just landed after traveling all day and did not live at the airport(?). I asked for a supervisor and got no further response. After one minute of silence I hung up. Had to locate an alternate rental company and pay significantly more for another car. No constructive offer or apology - treated like it was my fault. May pursue other action against this outfit. Absolutely terrible service - avoid this outfit at all costs.

    This process seems to be above the law. They sent me a bill, I thought it was incorrect, so I paid no attention to the bills they sent because I was not aware that though the tolls are not physically there, tolls were still being assessed. When I starting paying attention to the 4.60 bill, it went up to an additional $40. I called and was told that I should have known they were going to assess $40 late fee. The late fee amount is not listed on the bill and nowhere does it state that a specific fee would be assessed after a certain time period like all other companies. I spoke to customer service and was told, that it is listed on a website. I was told there is no one to talk to about a dispute and there is nothing I can do about it.

With the E-Z Toll program customer may use the express lanes an unlimited number of times during this rental, and we will handle processing and reconciliation for toll payments plus the cost of the toll(s). When the option is declined the customer will be charged the amount of the toll violation(s) plus a $25.00 admin fee per violation. Our optional services are offered to the customer to help them travel at ease. When you signed your Agreement you acknowledged that you had the opportunity to read through the Agreement before signing to verify all charges were correct.     EZ phone customer service SUCKS! I called a few days ago and waited on hold for over 10 minutes. I talked to a very nice guy that said my date change was done. When I looked at my account today, it was NOT changed. I called and got a man with an accent named David. He told me he could not make the change but would transfer me. I told him I did not want to wait on hold again. He said he would change it, but then he pulled up my account and put me on infinite hold. After 10+ minutes, I hung up and called back. After a very short wait, he (DAVID) answered again. I asked him why I am getting passed around and put on hold, and without saying a word, he put me into the hold system, where I have been now for 22:32 and counting. This is **.     This rental was a total ABUSE. I've made a reservation online and the total informed was $151.61 and now you are charging me $406.22, this is insane! At the airport, even I explaining to the guy that help us that my credit card already covers all he forced me to hire another insurance even though I did not want to!! In addition, he LIED to me, saying that the city of Orlando did not accept any payment in tolls with cash anymore. I said that the SunPass was too expensive, and I preferred to pay in cash the tolls. He said that I couldn't!!!! I said several times that I did not want to hire SunPass, and he denied me the car without this. I am very disappointed and I hope your company will take action.     Waited in line for two hours. Only 3 agents working. Shuttle driver tossed cases of water on the floor at our feet and told us to help ourselves as an apology for the wait. When I made it to the counter I learned that there would be a deposit in excess of $300. I also was told to present my insurance card so that adequate coverage could be proven. When did buying rental insurance become a requirement for rental? I rent often and have never had these demands. I cancelled my reservation and asked for a refund. I am still waiting on the email confirmation.

    I went to Enterprise and rented a car without mention of my insurance card or an exorbitant deposit. And I was at their counter for 5 minutes. Agent was personable (Enterprise NOT EZ), introduced himself and conducted a pre-rent walk around. EZ has a sign that tells customers to check the vehicle themselves. Horrible way to run a business. I will pay extra elsewhere to never visit one of your centers again.

I was told when I went to drop the car that I have used more than the mileage required and will have to pay for the rest of the mileage accumulated and the cost I will be charged is per mile. I tried to explain myself but they will not listen. I called the customer service and the agent I spoke (DAVID), but he put the blame on me and also lied against me that I booked on priceline.com. I couldn't do anything, but explained myself, but still they won't listen to me. This are very bad employees and this is also not a good company to deal with either.

    My experience started in Jacksonville FL on April 27th waiting in line for an hour to be given a car that was dirty. After I refueled the car and returned it in JAX on the 30th of April I thought it was like every other rental car company I've done business with and said "thank you" and went on my way. Two days later looking at my account online E-Z charged me $1,600 for zero reason. When I called them they stated that it appears I returned the car in Phoenix!!! Of course that was false and I asked for a refund. The first person I spoke with told me that they called the local office in JAX and verified that I was telling the truth and my refund would be returned "asap". She even gave me a confirmation number of ** - the next day when I called, the gentlemen I spoke with had no idea what was going on and never heard or saw that number on my account.

    He ALSO called JAX E-Z Rental to verify the car was in the lot and he said that I would see my refund and that someone would be calling me within 24hrs (we are now on hour 25). I called AGAIN today, the gal I spoke with started the conversation by telling me what my charges were, she came up with some $800 charge that I had not seen yet. I want my money back now, I have waited 72hrs for something to be handled correctly. This is ridiculous and a complete waste of my time. They have lost me and hopefully others for my lifetime.

    When I arrived at E-Z Rent a Car Denver airport on 4/7/2017 the line was to the door. Minimum of 40 people standing in line. And of course no one was happy. I waited in line for 1 hour and 45 minutes then another 10 minutes at counter. No matter how much you save it is not worth it. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE unless you have a few hours to stand in line and waste valuable time on your trip.

    The girl at the counter was talking down to me and was rude to the point I asked her if I'd done something wrong, only there to rent a car. Las Vegas rental was much better experience. The vehicle I got in Vegas was a cruise hatch, a nice ride. Ft Lauderdale was Hyundai accent, which handled very poorly seemed like it had front end issues, and the seat belt buckle was stabbing me in the leg, car was overall very uncomfortable. I waited on hold over 20 minutes, finally sent an email. Never got a phone call. Car was dirty outside when I got it, 1st ever dirty rental!

    We rented a car in January, 27th until February 4th. It was ok. Had to wait over 3 hours to even get a car ready for us. We felt that we would use you guys again. We tried online to book for our trip on March 20th. Finally I did speak to someone at the desk (calling from Toronto and waited almost 45 min for someone to finally talk to). We thought everything was booked. Finally we came down to the rental place on March 20th with the shuttle and to be told there was no booking!!!! What more do I need to say!!! What a terrible experience. To rate you as a 1 star is very generous. Zero is more appropriate. We were told to try next door - just as bad. Awful. would never recommend or ever visit your rental place again.

    I've rented often from E-Z. However this experience was awful. When I rent a car they always tell me what I'm getting. Sometimes they offer a Crossover when I request a full size. I always decline because my father is in wheelchair and cannot get into those cars. She didn't tell me and told me she couldn't change it when I asked. I went outside and waited an hour to get the full size and they all had sticker issues. My father was anxiously waiting I could not wait anymore. They had no full size anyway. I left. Tried to get my father in it was a disaster. I spent far too many hours on the phone holding and not speaking to a human.

    Finally when I did they were soo unhelpful. I could not leave to swap the car because I couldn't leave my dad alone and I cancelled help cause I was here. I needed to take him to doctors. I was frustrated and angry to spend so much useless time on phone. NO ONE ANSWERS ANY PHONE NUMBERS. Finally they did and no help. I was desperate and relentless and finally I got an answer at the Fort Lauderdale desk by the wonderful Nollette who sent someone with a swap car. NOT SURE I'LL USE E-Z again. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    We rented for a very fair rate... Extremely low and took "whatever" determined at pickup. And to my surprise it was a pickup. Okay since we were on highway and the larger size worked out well.     Reserved a car for our vacation in Arizona. Arrived at Sky Harbor this past Tuesday and went to pick up the car. Stood in a short line for a really long time. The agent talked us into upgrading from a Toyota Camry to a Chevy Camaro convertible. Fine, thought our son would love it. Ended up spending more than twice as much as we were quoted but the upgrade was our choice. The insurance and additional driver fee was a surprise. Put the top down on the first day and it wouldn't go back up. Also couldn't unlock the trunk with our luggage and medications inside. Called customer service and they suggested we take it to a local Chevy dealer. Great way to spend our first day of vacation!

    The dealership was able to get the top up and open the trunk but said there was a warped part and we would not be able to put the top down again. Called customer service again (the rep was in Guatemala) and he said we could return to the rental office and create a new reservation. We had already spent the first day of our vacation dealing with the vehicle and did not want to have to drive back to the airport and wait in a 2 hour line again. The "customer service" rep said that was our only option. We decided just to keep the vehicle and not put the top down.

    For the past 2 days we have been calling the direct number to the Phoenix location but nobody answers. We have left messages as requested. Our calls have not been returned. I emailed customer service and haven't received a response. I think we should get a discount for our trouble. I'm afraid of being charged for the warped part because this company seems very shady. Also, we found a bunch of garbage under the seats (a box of Triscuits and pop bottles). I wish I would have gone with a well known, reputable company. This company did not end up being more economical with the added fees, we wasted a day of vacation finding, driving to, and waiting at the dealership not to mention the time spent on the phone with "customer service". I hope things go okay when we drop off the vehicle tomorrow.

    Rented a minivan from E-Z on February 22, 2017. The vehicle had bad tires. After driving it for 2 days, a rear tire was going flat. I called for service, and they actually had a team member bring me another vehicle where I was staying. All was well. On Monday, February 27, 2017, I returned the car. The agent there walked around the entire van with me, There was NO DAMAGE noted, and I was advised that everything was good. I boarded my flight and returned home.

    On or about March 3, 2017, I received a "Notice of Claim" from PurCo Fleet Services advising me that a claim was being set up for a "Damage Incident" that occurred on February 28, 2017, and there was no need to respond. I called and spoke with Laura **. She advised me that there was a chip in the windshield on the driver's side, and it would probably cost $30.00 to repair PLUS a $10.00 administrative fee. I disputed the claim, as the date of loss was February 28, and I returned the vehicle on February 27, 2017, and it was inspected at that time and was advised I was good to go.

    On April 3, 2017, I received a bill for a replacement windshield from Safelite Autoglass ($165.00), 2 days "loss of use" ($122.00), and a $50.00 administrative fee. There was also a handwritten note telling me the damage was on the car when I returned it, along with some pictures. The alleged damage was in the driver's field of view, so there is no way I could not see it. I again called Laura to dispute the charges, and advised her that I would not pay it. She advised me that she reports to credit bureaus and she would do so if I did not pay the bill. I advised her that I would contact my attorney if we cannot resolve this issue. I would like someone from E-Z rentals to call me to discuss this matter.

    Reserved a car thru E-Z Rental prior to our flight into FLL. Agreement states balance will be $158.24. After check at E-Z Rental (Advantage Rental Car) my balance was upped to $373.89. I understand there was a $200 security deposit, but that was added onto the $373.89 for a balance of $573.89 when my original quote was $158.24. I looked over my rental record once I got to my rental car. The customer service rep billed me for insurance that I did not ask for, nor want. I went back to have her remove the insurance and I was told it is the law in Florida. (My Insurance would cover a rental, I looked in to this prior to renting.)

    We leave the FLL & on our way up I95 my tire pressure light comes on. I stop and put air in it. We reached our destination... overnight it lost 12 lbs of pressure. We had a full day and I did not have time to contact E-Z Rental (Advantage Rental) which the Oil Change light and the Service Seat belt alerts came on. Again, I put air in the tire Thursday night (44lbs like the other tires) to wake up to 28lbs of pressure Friday morning. *Disgusted*

    So, I call the number at the top of my rental agreement 1-800-777-5500 on Friday Morning. Call #1, I went thru the channels and spent 21 minutes being transferred around and was finally placed on hold. I'm on hold for 20 minutes and I use my son's phone and call again. Call #2, I explain the situation of Call #1... and as I'm explaining Call #1 it was currently 51 minutes and I was on hold for 30 of that, someone disconnects the line of Call #1. I was shuffled around on Call #2 again and I demanded a direct number that I was given... 954-359-8007 the direct line to E-Z rental in FLL airport. I call this number to be placed on hold AGAIN. Nope, I hang up and call back demanding a manager. She put me thru to Neil who I explained the situation to. I have a tire that keeps losing air, Oil Change & Airbag notification. By now I have been on the phone for over 2 hours with this company playing phone tag.

    I am 100 miles from FLL & Neil states that he is short staffed and asks that I take the car to have the tire repaired at a tire shop, for this he will give me $100 off my bill. After much disgust, I agree. I am on vacation, I've spent more than expected on this car, this should not be my responsibility, and I am currently 5 hours in on the phone calls & finding a repair shop. Repair shop looked at the tire and could not fix it. There was a nail on the inside side wall. E-Z rental gave me a vehicle with a nail in the side wall! We could have wrecked if that tire blew!! I go back to our home and call Neil. I explain that the tire is not fixable and I ask for another vehicle. He asked if I was still at the tire shop to have the tire repaired.

    This is NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY and I should NOT have to deal with this while on vacation! I spent 10am-2pm on St. Patrick's Day dealing with this car. I told him I'm done, I want another car because I did not feel safe driving it down I95 with a nail in the sidewall. I was told the car would arrive at 5:00, car arrived at 5:40... Yes we were late to our reservations. I received another rental agreement, charges $258.46. Returning the car 2 days later at the FLL airport where upon checking the car in, the lot attendant informed me everything would be sent via email. I questioned my refund and was told it would be taken care of.

    2 days later... I'm billed the full amount. My first rental agreement was for $373.89, the revised agreement was for $258.46 and I was charged $341.70. That is not $100 off. So I call Neil the manager at FLL location on Tuesday, only to find out Neil wasn't in. Neither was the other manager for that fact. It was a Tuesday morning and there wasn't a manager on duty? I was told to call back the next day, which I could not do due to work schedule. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I emailed Advantage/E-Z Rental and was given a credit of $83.24. Basically, #1 they charge over what the quote, #2 their customer service is non existent, #3 they do not follow thru with promises, #4 you better hope you don't have issues with your vehicle. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

    At the Phoenix airport, we waited in line while three (sometimes only two) clerks dealt with a very long line of customers. Two of the clerks took what looked like lunch breaks while we waited. It took us almost two hours to get to the rental desk. The clerk was very accommodating, but we did not plan for a two-hour wait simply to pick up a car we had already reserved and paid for. What a ridiculous waste of time. E-Z may be inexpensive, but it's not cheap. You pay for your savings in wasted time.

    Reserved a Toyota Camry but Tammy insisted she would upgrade us to a Rav since we had golf clubs. We told her we were fine with the Camry but she said she'd get us a great deal. Ended up costing us $300+ more for the week. Our bad, didn't look at the rental agreement she had us quickly sign but verbally she told us it was $45/day, not additional, just $45/day. Ended up that was the upgrade cost. She acted like this was a real deal for us, we paid $900 to rent a Toyota Rav for a week. For that price, I'd expect a Corvette convertible. Complained to Casey at Phoenix airport (very unprofessional) and also called corporate customer service with no resolution. Will never use them again.

    So I rented a car from this company. Pick up was a 1:00 am after a long flight. At the desk I spoke with a kind lady that help me through my paperwork, or so I thought. She asked me if I wanted extra insurance which I said no, and was very pushy on getting a fuel purchase option (fpo). Once we talked about all the options I was left it initial all the paperwork. This is done on small screen that you use to swipe your card, in which you can only read two line at a time. After glancing through the first 3 out of 7 which all read "by initialing here you declined to purchase...". Now I know this part is my own fault, but I initialed by a #6 in the list label RLP (renter liability protection) saying I agreed to this. Completely missed it! Now when the paperwork printed out the deposit of $200.00 was on the bill and I ask that seems pretty high. She then explained the deposit will be refunded and the red flag went away.

    Later that day after I got a few hours of shut eye. I looked back through it and saw the $13.95 a day charge for RLP. So I immediately called the corporate number which they told me they couldn't help I need to call the ATL branch. So I called no answer. I call 4 times throughout the day then left a message for a call back. Never got a call back. I called a few times the next day... No answer. Keep in mind I am trying to meet family and enjoy my short trip with them. Then I called the corporate number the next day and when they gave me the same response. I told them I can't get anyone to pick up the phone at that location. Then they patched me through to the manager in ATL. This is the part where I don't have any leverage. Yes, I initialed by the statement I want insurance. And it could be a con on my part to ask for insurance and after my time is up say I don't want it. Seems like something someone would do right? Have the insurance and not pay for it.

    The manager said he would meet me in the middle and refund half of the days. I said, "Fine, after 3 days of this I'm done..." Later that day I'm grabbing something out of the glove box when I find another rental agreement from the last person that rented the car. Surprise surprise! Line #6 "by initialing here, you agreed to purchase RLP". The person only had the car for 2 days and probably didn't notice. Their signatures were only a scribble. I think the best part is how they didn't put it all the way at the end. Second to last to try to hide it. They got me. Hopefully if you were patient enough to read this they won't trick you.

    I wish I had read the reviews about E-Z Rent-a-Car making false claims to customers about damage before I rented from them last week. I was given a rental vehicle in Boston which was damaged and that damage was noted when I picked up the car. The associate said that "some kid" had severely dented the car. I returned the car the next day during normal working hours at 3 PM. NO additional damage was noted when the car was returned.

    One week later I find that I am being harassed on a daily basis by someone from PurCo, a known scam organization, who is claiming that I damaged the vehicle. An internet search of this outfit shows that they are known for attempting to extort money out of rental car customers, threatening and harassing them. Obviously this scam organization obtained my name, personal phone number and email from E-Z Rent-a-Car. This is a serious data breach. At no time did E-Z Rent-a-Car say anything to the effect that I had returned the vehicle in an unacceptable condition or indicate that there might be a problem.

    I have spoken with agents from EZ Rent-a-Car twice about this matter, both have assured me that I returned the vehicle in acceptable condition and that there was "nothing in the damage notes". I spoke with the first associate after being called by PurCo; she said to "ignore" the scammer. I called the second one after receiving a report from the scammer regarding the vehicle. The report was dated two days after I returned it, with 27 additional miles from what it had when I turned it in. The second associate said she would open an investigation and in the meantime not to reply to the scammer from PurCo. Nonetheless, this scam outfit PurCo now has my contact information and is harassing me on a daily basis. What kind of company turns over full contact information from their customers to a known scam organization to harass their customers? I find this unacceptable.
