Booked a nice room at the Wellington Hotel in NYC for 3 nights in February for May trip through bookit.com. Room was to have a 2 double beds. Pictures on their website show 2 beds in a newly renovated, bright, sunny room. When we arrived, we were shown to a dark, dingy, creepy room with a tiny little window and 1 little double bed. No updates or renovations here.
Had to pay an extra $60 plus taxes for each night for an upgrade. I have been in dispute with them over this extra cost to me and their deceitful advertising for 2 1/2 months and no resolution. I had copies of their website that I sent them of proof regarding the 2 double beds, and they still believe in their fantasy world that it states 1 double bed. Never Again.

Very simply put Bookit.com used Bait and Switch tactics to get the customer to use their service. For example the photo that they advertised of the room were staying in shows a very nice room and states "standard room" but when you arrive to check in the hotel tells you that that photo is of a Junior Suite and will cost an additional $50 per night. It seems that they may "accidentally" do this in many instances.

My message to Bookit.com customer service 08/10/13:
"I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with a company before. Bookit.com RUINED my recent vacation. After not being able to make it to our destination in San Juan Puerto Rico, we immediately called Bookit.com to cancel our reservation. We called 6 hrs prior to our check in time. We were advised by the rep that we could not cancel our reservation and that the hotel was refusing to return any of our money. We were stuck in another city and simply wanted to rebook at another hotel with the same funds that we spent at the hotel that we were not going to make it to. We were told NO, we could not do that after sitting on hold for 1 hr & 40 minutes.
The next day I called the property myself and was told by the revenue director, Maggie, that they never received a call from Bookit.com and would have gladly canceled the reservation. So here we have your company being dishonest & lacking integrity. The director was very sympathetic and called Bookit.com directly and we both sat on hold for over 30 minutes in which she advised the rep that they would issue a refund for one night but because they have no record of the first call being made, they could not issue the other night's credit. Again all we wanted to do was rebook at another hotel as we were stranded in another city because our flight was overbooked.
I was then put on hold by your customer service rep for 1 hr and 30 minutes. Her name was Audrey. She NEVER came back to the line ONE time to advise me of what she was doing. She then gets back on the line to tell me that she had processed a refund which is not what I asked for. I just wanted to use the credit to REBOOK another hotel. After I questioned her about the 1 hr 30 min hold and advised her I just wanted to rebook, she then just said, "Hold on," & placed me BACK on hold for another 30 minutes. We were literally waiting at the car rental place for her to come back on the line so we can proceed with our day. She finally comes back on the line 30 minutes later and asks what hotel we wanted to book at.
I am scrambling through my phone and pick a 3-star hotel that was within the amount of credit that Audrey said we had. We finally get to the hotel and it is the most horrible thing that I have ever seen or smelled. The hotel should have been rated at a 1 but was rated at a 3 in which you have the Embassy Suites rated as a 3 so I would assume that they are comparable. We could not bear the stench and talked to the hotel manager Andre who said he understood and would gladly release us from the reservation. Once again I am back on the phone with Bookit for another 1 hr & 30 min. On hold for 45 min and then on the phone with the rep for another 45 minutes.
Due to Audrey (previous rep) trying to cover her ** for leaving me on hold for over 2 hrs, she put a $50 credit on my account for a future booking. When the next rep tried to apply it, there were only certain hotels that it could be used for. So we had to go through each hotel to see if you could use your own voucher. At this point I am literally about to just cry from your company taking up now over 4 hrs of my day. He finally comes back on & gives me a confirmation # for our stay at the Sheraton. He then tells me that the hotel is booked. We get to the hotel & there is no fax for the booking or reservation. So back on hold again for another 45 minutes just for someone to answer the phone. I get Audrey again and I ask her not to put me on hold again. She agrees and faxes over the confirmation. We finally get checked into our hotel at 8 pm after initiating our call to you at 10 am in the morning. 10 HRS LATER!
After vowing to never ever use this HORRIFIC company again, I come home to see that you all made an unauthorized charge to my account for $152.83 for the booking in which the credit was to be used for. I have bills that are coming through my account and this is undoubtedly going to overdraft my account. As I am typing & reliving this nightmare all over again, I am on hold with your customer service department & have now been on hold for 44 minutes. I would like every penny that I spent with you guys refunded, an apology from someone in your upper management, from Audrey for leaving me on hold for over 2 hrs.
Your management team needs to look at your hold times, the quality of your customer service reps, and just revise your entire way of interacting with your customers. This has been the WORST experience I have ever had and I am going to undoubtedly tell everyone that I know about this TERRIBLE experience. The person traveling with me was literally in tears after having to sit for hours at the airport while we waited on you guys to correct something that should have taken no more than 30 minutes at the max. I have screenshots of my hold time and phone records. The bottom line is you guys dropped the ball and everyone at Bookit.com should be ashamed."

I purchased two Cancun activities from Bookit.com in Feb 2013. It was a family of 5 package to Chichen Itza and to Tulum & Xelha. When I returned from Cancun on July 2, I received a credit card statement. There were two charges from a travel company at Cancun, each over $200, on the two days that I went on the activities. I contacted my credit card company tried to dispute the payment. They got back to me few days later saying that the merchant has a sales slip and I signed it. However, I didn't even bring this credit card to Cancun. Now I am waiting for the credit card company to send me the slip to verify my signature. I cannot remember whether I signed anything before I went on the activities but the credit card company said if in fact I did sign it, they cannot help me with that.
Bookit.com should not gave my credit card information away. When I booked the activities with them and gave them my credit card, I trusted that it will not be shared with the third party. However, it turned out not the case. Please be aware when you decide to book anything with them, they will give your credit card away.

I booked a 5 day getaway to Myrtle Beach, SC. Airfare, hotel, and car. 3rd party "CarTrawler" notified me that my rental car confirmation was cancelled because they could not complete billing. Decided to call Avis directly and found out I was being overcharged by $140! I called CarTrawler and they say that they did not bill me but I am afraid that it will still be part of the total package. I also checked airfare rates through Spirit Airlines and saw that I could have done much better directly through them as well. Same with other hotels comparable to the one I chose through BookIt.
Right now I am trying to at least make sure that the $376.47 rental car portion of my total bill through Bookit is deducted from the total since I have secured my rental car independently. Bottom line is that I could have done much better booking this all myself. Very apprehensive at this point.

I felt rushed by the agent to book a special rate about to expire. Before booking, I asked if this resort was pet-friendly as I was traveling from a stay at my parents' home with my dog. (I had already noticed that it was pet-friendly on the Bookit.com listing but was just verifying this). The agent said the resort was pet-friendly and there were no additional fees associated with the dog and no additional needs with the animal. After booking, I checked the website of the resort to find that the resort requires a kennel along with current vaccination papers. When I called the resort personally, I was told only Bookit.com could handle this reservation. I called Bookit.com and, after a long wait on hold, they called the resort (again I'm on hold a long time) and confirmed that I would be allowed to stay, despite the requirement to have the papers and kennel with me. However, I would still have a $75 non-refundable pet fee.
Although the agent told me there was not an additional pet fee, I still accepted this addition and the stay since I didn't think there was much I could do about it. Then, before leaving my parents' home, my father had a medical problem which prevented my departure for this trip. I tried to cancel directly with the resort, but I was informed I had to go through Bookit.com again. After waiting 35 minutes, the agent called the resort only to return to me and say that a manager was not available and that I would have to call back in the morning. After calling in the morning, I was told that the resort required advance 24-hour notice, so they would charge a one day fee, including taxes, plus cancel fees of $19.99 and $25.00 from Bookit.com. So, to book on Sunday and cancel on Monday (actually Tuesday since "no manager was available"), it cost me about $157. Of course, this also wasted hours of my time as well.

The advertised items are not honored after paid for. Its deceitful advertising and they refuse to refund payment. I purchased a hotel stay package with BookIt. The package was supposed to include free valet parking, IMAX tickets and some other things. After paying, we received an email that listed charges for these items that were advertised on their website as part of the package. Because the screen was still open, I was able to take a screen shot of the web page we ordered from. I immediately called, and after about an hour on the phone, I was told that it was some kind of mistake, but they would have someone call me back to resolve it. I waited over a week for the call. No response from them. I called back and explained that it was specifically for these added benefits that were advertised in the package that I chose and paid for this hotel. They again admitted a mistake. I have spent several hours on the phone trying to get them to either honor what they advertised (I emailed a copy of the screen shot to the company) or give me an immediate refund.

I purchased the trip online for my wife and daughter to Samana, Dominican Republic; package included hotel, air and transportation. Upon arriving in the hotel, they got stuck for in elevator for 3 hours with no help. My little girl got scared to death and sent me close to 50 texts messages, "Daddy, come here and help me." After this incident, neither my wife nor my daughter wanted to stay in this place. I have tried to contact Bookit.com and there was no help. The only suggestion we got from them was to get a taxi, go to another place and get another hotel at our own expense. I have contacted my credit card and received partial refund for hotel only, since Bookit.com is claiming that we used a plane and transportation. We did not buy separate air tickets and transportation; we bought the package.

BookIt is charging customers a $19.95 fee every time you modify a reservation. The policy states that it is $19.95 to cancel, but their system is set up to charge a fee if you have any changes to your reservation. I added a guest to my room and it cancelled, reissued my entire itinerary and charged me $19.95. So customers should be aware that there is a fee to modify your reservations as well.

I booked a hotel through BookIt.com and when I arrived at the hotel, I was nowhere in their system. CSR at BookIt.com confirmed the reservation had never been completed and said she was expediting my refund. There are many hoops I could tell you about from the last 2 days but essentially, they confirmed yesterday that the refund had been processed and today captured the fund from my account. You can't get anyone on the phone without waiting at least 25-30 minutes. When you call the corporate office, the phone doesn't even ring. If you try the fax number, it rings endlessly until a voice says they're unavailable and hangs up on you. This is an unbelievably shady company. Do not use them. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General as well as the BBB. Not that it's going to get my money to me any sooner, but maybe they'll go out of business if enough of us file formal complaints with the Florida AG.

Where do I start?! I made a simple booking to Montego Bay for the holiday weekend. I had my brother on three-way to make sure we were all clear and on the same page. I explained that I was meeting him in MoBay flying out of FL, and he was flying out of NY. Apparently, that was too confusing for them to understand so they booked us both for the same flight coming out of NY. I’m thinking this is a misunderstanding; I’m sure they can fix it. Long story short, after talking to four different reps, I still can't get a solution to this mess. They clearly booked my flight incorrectly and had the nerve to try and justify it by making some nonsense reason. I'm so upset right now. This was my first and certainly the last time I ever use this miserable company. To my surprise, they truly don't know what they are doing and don't seem to care either. I’m so disappointed.

Unlike other travel sites, Bookit.com does not update your deal to include new discounts or complimentary things after you book your deal prior to the new perks. First operator, Rob, stated that he can make sure he'll update my deal if that ever happened. I called the next day. Desiree refused and said that I need to pay $20 to get the perks and discounts even though it's the exact same flight plan/hotel! She put me on hold forever and refused me again after "speaking to her supervisor". I said I was going to write a bad review of Bookit.com and never use their site again. She didn't care and carelessly said she was okay with that. What unprofessionalism!

Do not be fooled by any travel deal you find on Bookit.com. Their customer service is a complete joke and you'll end up paying more in the long run if you make the mistake of booking anything with them. I booked a hotel in Anaheim, with travel insurance, and closely checked the hotel cancellation policy before booking. There was a change in my plans that forced me to cancel the booking (well within the hotel's accepted "cancellation with refund" time period). On Bookit.com, I went to cancel my reservation and there was no notice anywhere that I might not be refunded for the price. I emailed their customer service on March 21 and again a few days later. It took them 16 days to respond. On April 6, they finally sent a response, flatly stating "you will not be receiving a refund for your cancelled booking." Many of the positive reviews they've received online seem fishy. Go with a more trusted travel site.

We booked with Bookit.com also. The flight went well and the hotel was fine, although we rented a car through Bookit.com in Costa Rica and were told when we got there, we had to pay a $1,000 deposit that would be returned. We have rented in Costa Rica before so we did not think anything about the deposit since it was returned to us when the car was returned on the last trip. This time was different. The car rental company was Economy and they kept our $1,000 deposit and we have not heard a word from them even though we have called and e-mailed them about our deposit. Bookit.com claims they had nothing to do with that transaction, but they are doing business with a bad company in Costa Rica who was taking deposits from other people at the counter as well as us. By the way, the car was returned in good shape with no damage done. Beware of Bookit.com.

I booked a trip to Punta Cana in September 2012, departing in March 2013. I paid the airfare upfront and signed up for deferred billing which consisted of two payments. First payment was taken in December 2012. The final payment was due in March 2013. For some unknown reason, the March 2013 payment did not go through, so BookIt cancelled my vacation without any notification. I had already paid $3,500 for the trip. I booked a trip to FL this year 2013. They were offering $50.00 off already for booking through them and I should have gotten my coupon off for my bad stay but that didn't happen either. This is supposed to be my honeymoon. Long story short, I get double-booked, same place twice, and about 2+ grand gets pulled out of my account. Calling for the refund and speaking to their customer service the first time took me 2 hours on the phone... I called back the second time because my refund still has not posted - another hour and a half! Seriously... I called a third time because the price dropped on their website - about an hour on hold. Wow! Now I get to a stupid rep stating, “We have to cancel your reservation in order to give you the dropped price.” Now keep in mind I have a $100 discount from the original booking and all the screwup that they have done. She tells me, "I will cancel your reservation, which is going to cost you a night stay and an additional fee to rebook." What the hell, I do not want to cancel. I just want the price adjustment. But no, they have to cancel and charge and rebook. In that case, you are not saving any money; in fact, you are paying much more. Oh and my discount is non-transferable to the new booking.
Seriously, if you are looking for great service or even a little bit of good service, do not hold your breath - this company truly sucks. This will be the last time I use them. I booked a trip to Honolulu including hotel, airfare, attraction and car rental ($5,163.21).The attraction was a dolphin encounter, which I assumed was at the hotel (since it was advertised in the hotel info). Upon closer review, the attraction I booked was not at the hotel, so I cancelled it. I received a credit but it took a number of phone calls (minimum 45 minute wait) and email follow-ups (booked 10/5/12, cancellation 10/31, credit received 12/14). On 10/31, I notified BookIt that I did not receive a confirmation on my rental car. Many emails and calls later, I was told there were no cars available. I called the trip insurance to find if I could cancel the trip and be reimbursed for the cancellation fees, but I was told no.
When I asked what I was supposed to do without a car, the rep told me to take a bus (nice, for a $5000 trip). When asked if I could cancel the insurance as it was obviously worthless, I was told I would have to do that within 15 days (page 15 of the 15 page insurance description of coverage). At some stage, I did receive a direct number for a rep who was courteous, but had no authority. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she stated that he would call, but he never did. We went back and forth, and I eventually booked my own car rental and cancelled BookIt's. When I asked for reimbursement, I was told on 11/21 that they would consider it when I picked the car up at the counter. I finally received the credit on 12/14.
The airline was another fun ride. I upgraded the outgoing flight on Alaska Airlines with no problems, except BookIt messed with the reservation (for some unknown reason), and only one segment was upgraded (easily resolved with an Alaska Airlines rep). The trip home to Orlando was on a United flight, which, even with the upgrade to Economy plus, was a cattle car experience. I finally received the car rental reimbursement on January 16, to find that takes and fees of $130 were my responsibility (read the fine print). This was communicated by the supervisor via email with a "Have a nice day" closing. Lessons learned: Buyers beware - read the fine print. You get that for which you pay (Anonymous).

This website is the biggest joke that tries to call itself a travel site. I tried to get in on this sale, and the website goes down. They did not even have the foresight to think about the added volume to their servers and also did not even add any staff to answer calls; they just had the normal night shift trying to take all the calls. The best she could say is they are trying to think of a way to offer a second chance!
What a bunch of crap. She even said there was no way for a manager to look up how much the sale would have been and that she does not have any way of overriding the system. I told her I would be posting this response to every site I can find because if this is the type of service they offer, who would want to use them? Most of the sales they have are still more than Funjet and CheapCaribbean's regular prices. The worst part is that they have great site that is easy to use. Had I known beforehand that this hotel had a resort fee, I would not have booked the plane reservation being that I could not get a refund if I cancelled. Also, I was never told that the shuttle service which I paid for transportation to and from the airport required that I download a transfer voucher from the internet. This was ** service on their part. Why was this not verbally communicated to me? My overall trip was only two hours.
The plane left today at 11:16AM and I was in Orlando at 1:20. I was stranded at the airport until 3:40 and still did not reach my hotel until after 4:20. Terrible bootleg service and I'm being nice. I then booked an additional 2 people to join us along with 6 excursion packages. We received confirmations stating that everything was set. At the airport at check in, we found out that BookIt had voided 1 airline ticket and the flight was full.
My request for refund of change fee on non-existent ticket is under review. After 3 hours on the phone, she and her child were rebooked the next day. Because one party arrived late, her transportation voucher was not with her and she had to pay a cab. My request for 1 transportation voucher was denied. They gave us an airline credit but no refund for the day at the resort that those two didn't get even though it was their fault. Our party of 6 arrived and departed on 3 different flights and times. Room had no clock, a broken phone and hair dryer. BookIt cited hotel discretion. Hotel cited full hotel at our requests for changes.
When we went to book our excursion to the Dolphin Park, they had one voucher instead of 6. Further review showed only 4 of 6 requested had been processed and only one reported to the venue. Ultimately, the excursion was cancelled due to weather and we were assured a refund for all 6. We're still waiting on that! Eternal hold times and a lot of finger pointing after 1/3 of our vacation spent fixing Bookit's mistakes has so far resulted in very little. I have called Bookit's booking support number, Bookit's Guest Support number and, lastly, their Corporate office number and have not been able to get through on any of the three. I have waited up to 20 minutes on each to be connected and they do not pick up. They do have wait/hold music, but not one person has picked up. I then went online to do a search for Bookit and see nightmare stories and many scam stories from people who were scammed through Bookit.com. They need to make right on my hotel reservations, not just cancel them without any warning. All I have to say is, do not use Bookit.com. I will from now on go with the much more reputable companies out there.

They charge hidden fees. In August, I booked my vacation to Jamaica with Bookit. The week before I was leaving, I found out that I had to pay $70.00 a day per child when I got to the resort. This was a total of $700.00 that I had to pay. They told me everything was included in my vacation, but then turned around and said that there was nothing that they could do, and I had to pay it. They wouldn't even try to compensate me for their mistake.

I booked my anniversary vacation with Bookit.com to the Atlantis Bahamas with the package that they promised, which is a free Atlantis Experience Pass with the vacation. The Atlantis Experience pass included: dolphin interaction, sushi and sake tasting at the Nobu, passes to the AURA nightclub and golf tee time. Upon my arrival at the Atlantic Coral Tower in the Bahamas, the front desk refused to process us for the Atlantis Experience. They instructed us that Bookit.com did not include it in the package. I called the Bookit agent. Troy expressed his apologies and said we would be compensated when we return home. Upon my return to New York, I contacted the Bookit.com office and have left numerous messages. It has been 12 days and no personnel from Bookit.com has returned my call.

I was traveling from the UK, where I live, to meet my friends from Canada. We were set to meet in Dominican Republic. We all used the same booking agent (David **) for the hotel booking, and our bookings noted that we wanted our rooms to be close together if possible. When I arrived (after traveling on my own from England), my hotel had absolutely no record of my friends' bookings. It turned out that BookIt.com (and Mr. **) had booked us all in completely different hotels! Despite dozens of emails and calls by me to BookIt.com, I have received no apology and no offer of compensation.

We booked hotel and airline reservations including seating through the BookIt.com website on March 4, 2011. The flight arrangements called for us to have to connecting flights for our travel to Las Vegas and the return flight. We wanted to obtain VIP check-in, and thus, the following week, I called the hotel in Las Vegas. They informed me that the reservation had not been sent to them by BookIt.com. This happened two additional times, and I finally reached a supervisor at the hotel, who contacted BookIt.com and found my reservation. This effort took over two hours combined time between BookIt.com and the hotel.
The day before the flight, when we went online to get our boarding passes, we discovered BookIt.com never requested any seat assignments from the airlines. At this point, we checked with the airlines online and could not find two empty seats together. We called BookIt.com and it was only after many calls and finally reaching a supervisor that they informed us we could get two seats together for the first flight segment if we paid for an upgrade. We were assured that they would make a note in our reservation and we would be able to get seats together for the connecting flight and both return segments when we went to the airport.
We arrived at the airport at 5 am for a 7:30 flight in hopes of getting our seats together for all the remaining segments. We found that we had to pay additional money for the connecting flight and they could not guarantee seats together for our return flight. We had to interrupt our vacation and call the airlines the day before our return, get a supervisor, and pay for a third upgrade. We attempted to resolve this matter with BookIt.com; however, they refused to accept responsibility and finally offered us to cover the cost of the upgrades and give us a $100 credit for another booking, but only if we signed a statement not to tell anyone about our experience.
BookIt.com tried to tell us various stories including that we could not have booked seats on their website. It was the airlines' fault and seats are not guaranteed. We feel strongly that everyone should know about our experience and that we have refused their offer and are posting our experience. Never use BookIt.com or if you do, beware, for you will likely have problems. We have found similar stories on the internet and are sorry we did not take the time to make the search before we booked our vacation.

I purchased in March, 2010 a vacation to Las vegas through bookit.com, and they also had an add for some meal tickets that sound very attractive, and that we're suppose to have all the participant restaurants inside Caesars Palace, the hotel where I was going to stay during my vacation. Because it was my first time visiting Las Vegas, I decided to buy the Mela tickets also, but I had a very unpleasant experience. When I got to Caesar Palace I went to the store from where I had to redeem my meal tickets. I received my card that covered four persons for three days meals. I got the flyer with the restaurants that accepted the card, and the first restaurant was Planet Hollywood, right next to the store. Me and my family went inside, had breakfast and after that, decided to take a look on the flyer.
To my surprise, none of the other restaurants were inside Caesars Palace. I panicked first but then I said, we will try to find them. And we did, but we had really hard time in finding them, and besides that, the one that we found were fast food, not restaurants. That is not the way I wanted my vacation, so I decided not to use the card anymore, hopping I will receive some refund. They do have in their terms specified that these are nonrefundable, but it doesn't seem fair to pay for something that you did not use. I tried to resolve this matter amicably, but I have no success. I agree to pay for that one meal that we had, and they can charge me a cancellation fee, how much they think necessarily. I would probably agree to pay one ticket from the four, but this is just a rip off (what they do). Now, besides having to pay for something that I didn't use, I also have to pay interest because I paid with a credit card and I try to solve this problem since March. The economic result is the fact that I have to pay $680.00 instead of paying for a four-person breakfast.

I booked a hotel and flight to Punta Cana, DR for Monday, November 23, 2009 until Friday November 27, 2009 under Booking ID# **. On that Monday, the day of our flight, my friend and I missed our flight due to miscommunication with the airport, who had us in Terminal A when we should have been in Terminal C. We made it to Terminal C with 20 minutes before the flight would depart and we were not allowed to get on the plane. Continental Airlines advised us that the next flight would leave on Thursday and we could take the flight then.
We called you all at Bookit.com to get confirmation to change the dates. One of your operators stated to us that if the airlines had seats available for the flight, they will contact the Majestic Hotel to change the dates of the stay. I contacted Continental Airlines by phone and they stated that they would gladly change our flights but our return date would be two days later because there were no more seats available on the returning flights from Punta Cana, DR on November 30 or December 1, 2009. The only returning flights they had available were on the 2nd of December.
At this time, Bookit.com was notified by phone and I advised your telephone representative that my friend and I would have to stay two more nights because there were no more flights available. The representative on the phone stated that there would be no charge for the extra two nights.
I immediately contacted Continental Airlines by phone and confirmed the dates of November 26, 2009 to December 2, 2009. Bookit.com was then notified once again by phone and we advised you all that the flight arrangements have been taken care of and if there would be any extra charge for the two nights. Your employee stated, "No, there will not be any extra charge and I will update your booking."
