This company is a rip-off artist. I booked a buy one/get one tour for 4 people. They charged my credit card for 4 people but sent vouchers for only 2 people. After 5 days of dealing with them and their so-called divisions, being left on hold for hours and dealing with incompetence on a level I've never seen before, all I can say is STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!

Not once but twice I have been fooled. In July 2013 and again June 2014. In 2013 I booked what Booklt called a resort hotel. When I neared the resort my GPS kept directing met words a dead end. I called the resort to confirm the address. The hotel said they address that matched mine with the exception of the state. I called Booklt and was told "whoops". They told me they made a mistake on their website. I asked how they planned on fixing the situation. They did not plan on helping me at all and worse would not return my money for up to 30 days. I explained I had four kids and two adults, two of the children where disabled and would require IV medication within the hour. They placed me on hold for over an hour. They said they rebooked me at a Ramada. Not at all a resort. I arrived an hour later at the address. The hotel was surrounded in barbed wire, shared parking lot with a gas satiation and an active drug deal happening.
I took video and sent it to Booklt. I once again called them, when I explained what happened they laughed. They rebooked me again at a Best Western 45 miles away. The hotel had no toilet seat and roaches. It was disgusting. They decided to give me a $75.00 credit and promised to call me with a formal apology (never happened). 2nd misguided adventure June 2014, I foolishly decided I would try and use that $75.00 credit. I booked once again a beach resort hotel. I received the confirmation only to see the dates were wrong. I called them back and spent 5 hours on the phone over two days. I called the resort directly and let them know the situation. Out of pure pity they called Booklt and begged them to refund my money. They did eventually and refused to give me the $75.00 credit back saying it was already used when I booked. The hotel told me that Booklt always caused issues for its customers and was always higher in price. The hotel felt so bad after they got of the phone with Booklt they upgraded my room and gave me a big discount.

Booked a trip to Disneyworld. They booked us through Delta with a layover in Atlanta. Our flight from Atlanta to Florida was scheduled to leave SIX minutes after our arrival in Atlanta. THANK GOD the flight was delayed, otherwise we would have missed our flight to Orlando. The shuttle service desk was closed because we arrived after midnight and the kiosk wouldn't scan our vouchers, so we had to pay $200 to get our family to the hotel, ONE WAY. The agency allowed us to book one bedroom for five people EVEN though it was against hotel policy. The hotel had to make an exception in our case because it was already booked. $15 a night for a cot. Our itinerary clearly read "1 room 2 beds for 5 people, breakfast included."
When we tried to redeem our breakfast vouchers the hotel pointed out that they only ever assign TWO breakfast vouchers per room. Something bookit was COMPLETELY unaware of. First day of vacation and I am ABSOLUTELY LIVID. The customer service representative I spoke with (after an hour of transfers and holds) was completely RUDE and CONDESCENDING. He refused to connect me to his supervisor and would not even repeat his name for me. This agency NEEDS to gather accurate information about the companies they book, present all correct information to their customers, and treat their customers with respect. DO NOT BOOK WITH BOOKITNOW. I will tell all my friends the same thing.

We arrived for our family vacation at the Iberostar Playa Mita on 6/11/14 and they had no record of our reservation despite our paperwork from Bookit.com reflecting a confirmed reservation. After a couple of phone calls, it was determined that Bookit.com had not paid for our reservation. We spent 3 1/2 hours on our arrival date at the Front Desk while Bookit.com told the Iberostar they would pay and never did. Iberostar was kind enough to put us in a room despite the lack of payment. We lost our first day of vacation.
We had assumed that Bookit.com would pay based on their promises, but on the day before checkout, the Iberostar tracked us down to tell us payment had not been received. I sent e-mails to all of the executive team, including the President demanding that payment be made. I received an e-mail back from the VP of Finance confirming that payment would be made the next morning. I checked back with the Front Desk first thing the following morning and payment still had not been made. I then received an e-mail from the VP of Finance and he said he spoke with the front desk and said that everything was resolved.
It took 5 days while we were on vacation for Bookit.com to finally make payment for our reservation. There must be some illegality to accepting our payment, confirming our reservation and then not paying the resort. Furthermore, we lost a lot of our vacation time working the phone and sending e-mails about the non-payment. Not to mention, the stress we had during our family vacation. Officials of the resort said this is a common occurrence with Bookit.com and to never use them again (which I won't). For information sake, the e-mails of the officers which is not public knowledge are:
President: Bud Finlaw bud.finlaw@bookit.comVP Finance: Tom Dibacco tom.dibacco@bookit.com
VP Operations: Sue Meritt sue.meritt@bookit.com
VP Sales: Laura Veglia laura.veglia@bookit.com

In return for our inconvenience, they offered 2 Delta Airline tickets and I'm supposed to call them with my reservation. Am I really supposed to believe that this will come true? Do they really think I'm that ignorant? Heed my advice and don't do business with this company or pay them a single dime. My 14 year old daughter asked me if bookit.com is a "scam". I think it might very well be.

My daughter received a call from a representative at Book It Travel named Christine. She informed my daughter that she had been awarded a special opportunity to go on a three-night cruise for $99 and could add at least 12 more friends to the booking. My first reaction was that this was a scam and too good to be true so I set up a three-way call with Christine and my daughter. I asked a lot of questions and was told by Christine that there would be no problem in getting the cruise that we wanted to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday as long as I sent in my request 60 days in advance. I sent in my request on May 21st. They received it on May 28th, well in advance of the 60-day requirement. I did not hear back from them by the 30th of June so I called. I was told by the self-proclaimed "manager" that my cruise was not available.
I was FURIOUS!!! This "manager" told me I could not get a refund of the $784 that I had paid. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was denied. I called Christine and talked with her. She said that she is told to tell us that there will be no problem with getting the cruise that we want. That is a bold-faced LIE!!!! I called Royal Caribbean to see if there were cabins available and was told by their reservations department that there were over 100 interior cabins available on the cruise that I requested!! So Book It lied again. I have called, been put on hold, left messages with a promise to call back and have heard nothing. This company needs to be investigated for its business practices. Do not ever deal with these people!!! I wish I had trusted my gut and never gotten involved with such a dishonest, lying bunch of idiots!!! I am seriously considering a lawsuit against them especially after reading the other reviews on this site. They need to be stopped!!!

Be careful when booking your vacation thru some of the "discount" sites. Bookit.com just had to refund me $194.00 because the hotel staff gave me my receipt with the actual room charges. Bookit said the room was $199.00 a night and the hotel actually charged $169.00 a night. To quote the rep, "they were NOT supposed to give you that receipt" and I say to that, OH, REALLY??? I know they have to make money in some way, but at the rate of a $194 difference, that's crazy to me. Won't be using them again, EVER!!

Bookit was extremely hard to deal with from the word go. They changed our flight that was originally nonstop to a 5-HOUR layover in Denver without our approval. Our 2 adjoining rooms that where booked as a suite and bedroom ended up being on different ends of the hotel. The customer service was horrible, did I mention that? They transferred us numerous times, put us on hold and hung up on us.
After 2 hours on the phone with these travel experts, they refused to do anything to fix the situation and told us they would review the matter. Well after we were home from our Vegas Vacation, Bookit finally got back to us with a big fat zero. They denied making any mistakes. If you want someone to do their best at screwing up your vacation and charge you thousands for the privilege of doing so then I recommend Bookit.com.

Our experience with Booklt.com was HORRID!!!!! We have never been treated so unfairly ever! ! Our flight there was great (but with Westjet we wouldn't expect anything else. Love Westjet!). When we arrived to the resort (Occidental Grand Xcaret) in Mexico we were greeted very warmly, given a drink and smiles from all the staff until they found out that we booked our trip through Booklt. Then everyone was beyond cold. They started by telling us that unless we paid them a great deal of money we couldn't stay there. We ask what the issue was and they proceeded to tell us that Booklt hadn't paid them so unless we paid upfront we couldn't stay there. I immediately asked if they could call Booklt and let me talk to them.
They did of course. When I got book it on the phone they acted like it was nothing and they told us they would call the resorts manager and have it all straightened out. The resort manager had told us Booklt couldn't resolve it because it was after hours and their account staff weren't there. It was late at night. So we still needed to pay. After about an hour of going back and forth we learned that Booklt had owed the resort a great deal more than just our stay. While we were standing at the counter there were two more parties that were being told the same thing. The resort didn't care that we were from out of the country and didn't have anywhere else to go, they wanted their money (understandable I guess). So Booklt during all of this had finally said they had found us another place to stay.
I asked if it had the same amenities as the resort we had chosen and Booklt said no, they just wanted to find us a place to stay and is we weren't happy to give them a call the next morning and they would find another location. We after many hours at the front desk and other hours drive we finally got to the new resort. NOTHING like what we had booked. Look below and you'll know what I mean. The staff was friendly but there was nothing that we had asked for. We then gave Booklt a call the next day to tell them we weren't happy and they proceeded to tell us that because we accepted the offer of the new resort we couldn't go anywhere. I told them that it had nothing that we had asked for and I started listing off everything, they simply said the new resort has an ocean view so its considered an upgrade.
(We booked a vacation at a resort that didn't even have an ocean view option because that wasn't a priority for us). They then told us we were more than welcome to leave the resort if we weren't happy but would have to make our own arrangement and that any charges we would be responsible for, they wouldn't be reimbursing us for anything. Flights couldn't be changed so we had to stay there for the week. This was the first time my parents had ever been on a vacation like this and for Booklt to have ruined it for us all but especially them is unforgivable. It has been six months since that trip and I am just writing now because it has taken this long to calm down. I want to add that I am not trying to did the resort we ended up at but it just wasn't what we wanted and that was beyond disappointing. Look up these two resorts and please let me know your thoughts?

I placed an order on BookIt.com and was quoted one price and charged a completely different total which was more than the quoted price on the website plus their 19.59% of taxes and fees on top of the hotel charge. They increased the rate of the hotel and tried to charge me more. Instead of giving me what I requested they did not deliver a voucher and charged the rate for the voucher into my hotel fee. If anyone has complaints I would also list them on the Better Business Bureau website for their Florida location as well. If you are considering using BookIt.com I would take the time to look at the reviews and see the numerous amount of unhappy consumers, like me, who were charge more than the quoted amount.
The customer service is horrible. All they want to do is charge you a 25 fee for any transaction that are not place on the web and when you do call the so called customer service they never have the answer or put you on hold or hang up on you. Previous to my last experience, I would have recommended BookIt.com because I used them once about two years ago with no problems, but after this experience never again. Take the time to do your research before booking it on BookIt.com. There are more reputable companies that stand by their prices available out there. Companies that don't overcharge you more than quoted.

BookIt switched car rental without notification. Had to stand in long line twice, for Alamo then at Budget. Purchased party passes for $59 each. Original list included 14 places, but when passes arrived new list only had 9. Places were all over town, rather than in close proximity as promoted. Needed numerous cabs to hop from place to place so opted out after first place was a dump! Promoted as VIP pass, waiving cover charges or standing in line when there WAS NO COVER CHARGE OR LINE to the places listed! We paid cover in advance by purchasing bogus pass and everyone else got in for free. "Dress to impress" it said. Impress who? Ten people in shorts and flip flops (at Purdy Lounge) playing pool in a dingy basement? Also scammed us with dinner and show package promotion (at Mango's). We paid $170 total when show was free and dinner value was $50 max for 2 people. Should have walked in casually dressed, sat at the bar, ordered a bite to eat and a drink. Could have had a decent evening but were furious about being scammed so severely by BookIt. Vacation RUINED!

We reserved dinner at Mangos that was supposed to have been paid for in advanced but after the dinner which was horrible and they wanted an extra $70 for taxes so we ended up paying a $170.00 for a rotten cafeteria or Mexican canteen style meal which was not worth more than a happy meal. I was looking for a room Disneyland. One of the things I look for is a free hot breakfast. I found a hotel that included, but wasn't disclosed to me was that it's for only 2 people per room. By the way, breakfast $10pp for extra people, that can add up! I'll be here for 5 days. After calling in to BookIt.com, it was pointed out to me in small fine print that I did not see. I have NEVER had a hotel limit the breakfast to a certain amount per room. I feel that this information needs to be written next to the FREE Breakfast so people can see it before they book the hotel, and not AFTER in the "itinerary". This would have made a difference to me.

Seeking other travelers that have been RIPPED-OFF by BookIt.com, to join in a "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" against them. BookIt.com misrepresented the Hotel's check-IN time by twelve hours, the Hotel's check-OUT time by three hours, creating havoc to our travel plans. Furthermore, BookIt.com did not book the large suite with the Hotel that we requested and paid BookIt.com for in full.
When a call to the Hotel evidenced the aforementioned, all confidence in BookIt.com was lost. My first attempt at utilizing BookIt.com for travel accommodations proved to be, not only a disaster, but a costly one, when considering BookIt.com cancellation fees and our last minute booking of different accommodations.
When a subsequent call was made to BookIt.com to cancel the booking in it's entirety, because of their blundered booking and/or "caught in the act SCAM," (three days before the day of our scheduled check-in), BookIt.com refused to cancel the booking unless we agreed to pay them a minimum payment of $59.95 ($25.00 charge for our cancellation being requested via telephone, (which we had no choice in because BookIt.com website refused to complete the cancellation process), $19.95 for BookIt.com standard cancellation process fee and an additional $10.00 because we used two credit cards because of the size of our group). Yes, $59.95, even with BookIt.com acknowledging their errors as referenced above. "It's the policy and I can't do anything about our policy," exclaimed ** several times in our 63 minute conversation.
BookIt.com has proved itself to be a "RIP-OFF" of the highest degree and needs to be stopped. In the very least, BookIt.com needs to be exposed for what they are, to as many honest and innocent consumers as possible. A CLASS ACTION lawsuit will do just that! Please contact me so as to be added to the list we are compiling in an effort to file a "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" against BookIt.com and expose these RIP-OFF ARTISTS.
Please note that one cannot put a negative review that exposes BookIt.com directly on BookIt.com website. The SCAMMERS know the damage such would do to their revenue stream. However, consumer protection websites like https://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel do a good job at exposing BookIt.com, as being the "RIP-OFF ARTISTS" that they truly are!

I have booking vacations for years using other reputable sites, but decided to try BookIt.com as it had the best deal. I was looking to book my vacation in June 2014 and had a great deal in hand. Me, my girlfriend and 2 other people decided to do on this trip, so we booked it. Right after my booking I looked at the total cost and realized it was more than what I was confirmed to pay 30 seconds prior on the last page before confirming. I called them immediately and they put me on hold for 15 minutes and come back and tell me they are not sure what happened but they could not refund me the 15 dollars I was overcharged. Instead they provide me with a future credit of 25$, which at the time I thought was acceptable.
2 days later I get my credit card bill and it was over $500 more than what I was quoted!!! I called and was on the phone for an hour before I get a response saying it was charged in US Dollars but there was no indication whatsoever during the booking process of this. Later they tell me that during the booking it is stated in the ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS, which is a separate link than the regular terms and conditions. I negotiated and talked to different reps of different levels and nobody could help me with this issue. I told them that it should state clearly on each page that the price quoted is in USD or CAD.
I also suggested if a customer enters a Canadian address or airport that there should be a notification saying it will be charged in US Dollars. Bottom line is we each had to pay an additional $130 which brought the pricing higher than most of the other travel sites. I had a horrible first experience and will never use BookIt.com again.

I booked a Christmas all inclusive vacation 3 months ago with BookIt. I received a confirmation email from BookIt stating, "This indicates that your booking has been completed successfully and is now confirmed." Two weeks ago I get a phone call from them telling me the resort I booked is being sold and the new owners aren't going to honor the current reservations. I was offered an upgrade at a sister resort. After thinking about it over the weekend, I called BookIt to accept this offer and was told by the same rep to wait because they were trying to negotiate a better offer. The sister resort isn't quite as nice as the original resort but we wanted to book something because resorts fill up quickly for the holidays. Days continue to pass and I repeatedly send e-mails to this rep -- with only 1 answer to multiple e-mails.
The original resort contacted me personally and told me that they are not for sale, nor have they been sold -- matter of fact, they are booked full for almost the entire month of December. I gave them my confirmation number that BookIt gave me and their reservations department is trying to see if they can locate anything. I finally got BookIt to recognize my acceptance of the sister resort - I was concerned that resort would also fill before my reservation could be confirmed. So, long story short, the BookIt rep started out being very professional the first few times we talked but has now become VERY unprofessional. BookIt was not honest with me about my original resort reservation, and I am now booked (I hope) at a sister resort with another e-mail confirming this resort. I will NEVER use BookIt again.

I wish I saw these reviews on this website before using booklt.com. On January 26, 2014, I made 2 reservations (4-person each) for my family and my parents-in-law for a trip to Cancun next June on booklt.com. The reservations included an all-inclusive resort stay for 8 nights and air-tickets from Washington D.C. to Cancun. On April 1, 2014, I received an email from Booklt.com informing me that the airlines has made some changes to the flights. The new flights were ridiculously unrealistic. The new schedule was to start the trip a day earlier, spend a night in Mexico City on my own and fly the next day to Cancun. On the way back, I would fly from Cancun to Mexico City, but the flight from Mexico City to Washington departs 6 minutes before the first flight (from Cancun to Mexico City) arrives.
As these flights were completely unacceptable (and unachievable), we called the airline, but we were told that any change to the tickets has to happen through Booklt.com as they are the ones who made the reservation. We called booklt.com many times to address the situation. We requested that booklt.com talks to the airlines to either (1) find reasonable alternative flights, or (2) if not available, book us on reasonable, comparable flights on another airline without any extra charge to us as we already paid booklt.com for these flights back on January. We ended up calling Booklt.com 7 times so far, each time it took an average of 1 hour. While booklt.com representatives understand and agree with our request, they come back after checking with the airline to say that they cannot find other alternate flights and refuse to book us on other airlines unless we pay for the difference in price.
When we explain that we already paid in January for the resort and flights and it is the responsibility of Booklt.com and the airline to find us comparable flights without extra charge, we either (1) get push back from Booklt.com agents, or in most cases (2) they put us in hold and then we get disconnected somehow. After we suspected that the agents are trying to avoid us, we asked the agent during our 2-hour call on April 9 to call us back if we get disconnected and left him our phone number. The line was indeed disconnected while we were on hold and we received no call back afterwards.
Unfortunately, the customer service at Booklt.com has been horrible; we wasted so many precious hours, as we had to explain the situation every time we call, but we always ended up without a resolution, let alone the frustration when we get disconnected. Examples of the agents we spoke to during this ordeal include (not sure about spelling) Anastasia, Laura **, Jen **, Tania (or Tonya), Gabrielle **, Adam, Brenda and her manager (April 9).
We filed a complaint against Booklt.com with the Better Business Bureau. Even then, Booklt.com did not address any of my concerns. In response to my complaint, I received a call from Booklt.com's representative (Donna **). It was a continuation of the same rude and unprofessional attitude I have seen during the previous calls. The representative did not attempt to solve any of the problems, or help me with the travel situation.
When I said that I know of someone who had exactly the same problem with the airline tickets and Booklt.com was able to help him and change the flights to another flight at no extra cost, I was told by Booklt.com that this was a mistake and they are not going to repeat the same mistake. Booklt.com considers it a mistake to help their customers and resolve their issues!!!! Moreover, when I complained about the treatment from their customer service and the number of times where our calls were dropped intentionally by their agents despite fact that we gave them our phone number to call back in case we are disconnected, I received no reaction whatsoever; just silence.

BookIt.com switched my hotel's booking date. I arrived to San Francisco on the 4/29 to realize that they had made the booking for 4/27. The room was prepaid, so I had to pay the night again. Fortunately, being 11pm the hotel managed to give me a room. BookIt.com never assumed the responsibility. Customer service first laughed at my problem. Then on the next day when I called again, they said they would use what happened to me as a learning tool so that it does not happen again. However, I'm the one who had to pay for their learning lesson because the terms and conditions say they won't compensate anything for this problem. This company takes no responsibility if they cause you a problem because the terms and conditions protect them. Avoid them. I'm sorry I did not read these reviews before using it.

I wish I saw these reviews before using bookit.Com. Believe me when I say they suck!!! I called to change my lodging information. The agent took down my credit information and told me it was all set only to find out weeks later that the change was never made! When I called them the second time and explained what happened they told me that they were having problems with their system and that someone would call me back. No one ever called me back. I called a third time and after being on the phone for a good hour I was given a much higher price for the new lodging and it was significantly higher than first quoted. They also charge a ridiculous amount of money for changing hotels. Cancellation fees yata yata yata!. And now I'M stuck with the crappy Excalibur hotel. I will never do business with bookit.Com again!! Stay away from bookit.Com.

Customer service matters! One day after I booked my honeymoon, the flights were changed. A quick look at the airlines website showed the flights I had booked were still available. I contacted BookIt customer support to try and change my flights and was given the run around. The support agents can't make flight changes. My request was forwarded to the "flight department." No, I can't speak directly to the flight department. I have to wait 48-72 hours for a response. A week later my request was still pending review. That's when things got even worse. The second agent I spoke with didn't understand the problem. Her comment was "you will be returning," as if I should be lucky to have a return flight at all. When I asked to speak with someone else, she refused. When I asked for her name and a supervisor, she hung up. When I called back I immediately asked for a supervisor.
After waiting, Jalisse (she gave me her name) told me the supervisor said to file any complaints online (his name was Peter). Jalisse then asked if there was anything else she could help me with. I told her, “Yes, I'm trying to address an issue with my flights.” She then became sarcastic and rude. "Why didn't you tell me that in the first place?" I had to explain to her that was rude and asked to speak with a supervisor again. She laughed and put me back on hold. After a long wait during which she kept getting back on line telling me my flight change request was pending, and making sure I really wanted to speak with a supervisor, Peter finally got on the line. He asked what was the problem? Peter sounded like he either just woke up, was high, or just didn't care. I told him I was having problems communicating with the support agents I was speaking with. He said, "oh," then hung up.
It's sad that due to globalization this is what customer service was become; there is no accountability. BookIt's customer support line is a dead end. I'm trying to contact their corporate office but a recording always says they are closed. If the airline hadn't confirmed my flights exist, I would think the whole thing is a scam. Unfortunately, it's simply horrible customer service. Use BookIt if you want a cheap deal but don't count on getting what you want.

We booked a room for the Embassy Row Hotel in Washington DC based on this site's photos, reviews and advertisement and it was completely unsatisfactory from the no refund policy that occurs as soon as you hit the payment button to the lack of clear disclosure regarding the significant extra fees this hotel charges for parking and "technology" which add up to an additional $60 per night. In addition the beautiful photos of the gym are for the gym they are apparently building as there was no gym available during our stay other than a few free weights and tiny space. The rooms were shabby and worn and the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Buyer beware - stay away from BookIt - It is bad news....

UPDATE: I called Bookit.com one more time and expressed with sincerity the distress I was in over the duplicate billing. She reviewed our account and advised me that we had indeed been charged twice for our vacation. She said that she could see where we had called twice before and had been told we were not duplicate billed. She was VERY helpful and placed me on hold while she spoke with a manager. She then informed me that I would receive a refund of both charges within 5-10 business days (except the original flight portion as it was non-refundable). Within just 3 days I checked online and had received all of the credits she promised. We are booked directly with a resort now and will be using our original flight. All is resolved!
Original Review: April 12, 2014
Made an online reservation on 3/25. Received an email about 2 weeks later that our flight had been changed. When I logged in it showed our original itinerary NOT being the flight I had scheduled and new proposed itinerary as the one I thought we were already on. No problem! So we THOUGHT everything was okay. Then I check our credit card statement today and see that we have been charged TWICE for our vacation. AND the charges were 5 days apart. I called and spoke to 3 different people at BookIt and they all argued with me that the first charge did not go through and only the 2nd charge actually worked.
I then called my credit card company who told me BOTH charges went through and they thought it was very suspicious that (A) the charges were 5 days apart and (B) the company did not call to tell us about this issue. We cancelled online and we are opening a dispute on the duplicate charge. Who knows when we will get the original charge refunded but the credit card company said we could dispute it as well if they don't refund it in a reasonable amount of time.

I booked a trip to New York for March 2014 with Bookit.com. I had to cancel because my boyfriend was admitted into the hospital a couple days before we were to leave for New York. I knew that I would lose money on the airfare but I wanted to at least get some of my money back from the hotel. It was a non-refundable room but the agent told me to call the hotel to see if they would ok Bookit to refund the money. I called the hotel and was told to fax a letter from the hospital to the hotel stating that my boyfriend could not travel. The letter was faxed from the hospital and it was approved for Bookit to refund me my money back to my bill me later account. I stayed on the phone with the Bookit agent for almost an hour and was told I would get credit for the airline tickets, less the fees from the airlines, and a refund of $669.13 for the hotel. I was told the refund would credit back to my account in 7-10 days. All this took place on February 28 2014.
I called them back on March 9 to check on my refund and was given the runaround. The agent was very rude and act like she had no idea about my refund. Even though everything that was discussed was in their computers, she kept saying that the room was non refundable. I had to keep explaining to her about the hotel approving the refund. I began to get frustrated and asked to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor finally got on the phone and he was very rude. I think he must got upset with my tone in my voice and he hung up on me. I called back and was told by another agent, after waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes, that I would get my refund in 15-20 days because it was a "manual refund." What's that?
After reading these posts and the rude behavior of the agents at Bookit that I received, I filed a dispute with bill me later for my hotel charge and filed a compliant with the BBB on March 21. On March 25, my account was finally credited $669.13 to my bill me later account. Please stay away from Bookit.com and use someone else for your travels. This was my first time and it will be my last using these people. Also I was told that I was going to be waived the $25 fee because of my circumstances. But of course I was still charged the fee. I guess they had to get something from me after all.

I caution you again against using BookIt.com to make any type of reservations. A week after I booked a hotel with them that "had no record of the booking" upon arrival, I still have not been refunded and in fact have been charged TWICE for the fee of the rooms I never stayed in. Not only did I have to scramble to find another hotel on my first night, I spent over an hour waiting for customer service to call me back. The guy I talked to first said they've "never had anything like this happen" and would have to contact a "team" to let me know what to do. I told him that I needed to have somewhere to stay and couldn't afford to stand around waiting for someone to call. He said they'd call right away. Wouldn't you know, no one ever called me that night?
Called again the next day, the customer service rep states they need to talk to hotel to find out what happened. Called again a few days later, they say they are "working on the ticket" to correct the transactions. A few days later another charge appears on my credit card for the entire amount. No refund. Called AGAIN, rep assures me that it will be "taken care of" and tells me there may be a $25.00 cancellation fee, for the cancellation of a room I never was given in the first place. Am in the process of disputing charges with my credit card company but nonetheless, the hassle of this has really soured me on booking any hotel or flight through anyone but the actual company. BEWARE!

My Hotel vacation was cancelled. Company has not refunded/credited account after 20 days per their cancellation policy. I purchased a hotel vacation for $1,246.96 at BOOKIT.com on February 4, 2014. I used Billmelater.com to pay for the bill. It posted to my Bill Me Later account. On February 13, 2014, my husband passed away and I could not take my vacation and cancelled the hotel on February 14, 2014. I called the company and they said it was credited.
After the 3rd call to customer service regarding my refund, I was informed it will take 15-20 business days to credit. The 4th call on March 10th, I was told they will submit information to accounting service to see why the money was not refunded to Bill Me Later. I was also told that it was a Bill me Later issue, because they issued a refund o February 14, 2014. Bill Me Later stated they have not received information to credit the account.
The 5th call on March 14, 2014, exactly thirty days since cancellation, the Bill Me Later account is still not credited. It was exactly 20 billing days per their refund policy. I called Bookit.com. The customer service representative stated, although a refund was issued on February 14, 2014, the correct forms to release the money from Bill Me Later was not issued. Therefore, they will submit "release form" and that it may take another 15-20 days to receive the refund. I notified Bill Me Later of the shady practices and was instructed that it should only take 7-10 business days to credit an account. Therefore I should submit a billing dispute with them.

I booked a package to Riviera Maya with Bookit.com last July. I wish I would have Googled them first, and now I am adding my "2 cents worth" about this company. The initial process went fine, and the agent who handled my trip was very nice and competent. I chose to pay in 3 installments, and no problem there either. In December, I received an e-mail, notifying me that our flight numbers and times had been altered slightly by American Airlines. I was told to re-copy my itinerary, and was not directed to do anything else.
Fast forward to the Monday of the week that we leave (on Saturday, 3/1) I actually called Bookit about another issue (names all matching on our reservation/passport/ID). The agent I spoke with told me she couldn't help me with that, and said I should call American. I called AA, and they said no, they couldn't help me with that, and that the 3rd party booking company would have to take care of it. So another call back to Bookit, and I actually got someone who knew what they were doing. Good for me, because I was pretty upset.
She informed me that I had taken care of the name change already, and then the light bulb went off, and I remembered. For my peace of mind, she sent me an e-mail, confirming what our names should be on our reservation. I called American (again) and asked them to please check their TSA database, and the agent told me that our names were correct. Then she said there was another issue. Great. I was informed that we were still on the original flight number and time on the reservation. AA told me that Bookit had failed to "re-issue" our tickets to the airline, and that I needed to call them (again) and take care of it. Remember, this is 5 days until we leave, and I am in panic mode/close to tears.
So I called this wonderful (not) travel agency, got an agent who listened to my problem, put me on hold 2 or 3 times, and then came back on the phone to confidently tell me that he had taken care of the problem. Did I believe him? Heck no, so I called the airline (again) and asked them to please check the details of my itinerary. The agent told me that it was still the same, and that's when the waterworks started for me. This was a big-deal trip I had been planning for 7 months with my daughter, and our trip plans were falling apart. The agent at American Airlines took care of the problem for me - bless her heart - and told me that it was really good that I had discovered this before heading to DFW. We would not have been leaving on either plane because the first flight number was either non-existent, or not going to Cancun, and the actual flight could have been full, and we wouldn't be able to take that one either. But wait, there is more!
Part of the package included ground transportation from the airport to the resort (65 miles) with Best Day travel. That went okay - it was a bit chaotic at the airport, and a significant wait before we left, but perhaps that is normal?? We received a booklet about confirming our return pickup time the next day at 4 at our resort. I went down to the lobby, and no rep was there from Best Day. So, I decided to take care of it later, even though I wanted to not have to worry about it (I'm on vacation - no worries, right?). A few days later, I saw a BD rep in the reception area, and sat down to talk about our return to the airport. He found my name & info, and he too had the wrong flight number and time for our return flight. I couldn't remember our flight # and time, so I told him I would go get my paperwork, and we could set things up. He informed me he would be there until 5:00.
I went up to our room, went back to the reception area, and did not see Leonal. I did see the back of a van with the "Best Day Travel" logo, leaving the resort and 4:45. I was livid. Who does that? I went to the front desk, and they called BD. She was put on hold. What a surprise. Meanwhile, I am stressing-out, and missing valuable minutes of my vacation. They go by so fast in the first place, don't they? The next day, I went down and called BD, spoke to a manager, and told him what had happened, including the name of their rep who ditched me the day before. He took care of the problem for me, changed the time and flight # on my reservation...finally.
Yesterday, 3 days after returning home from Mexico, I called Bookit to tell them what had happened. When I told them about Best Day, the agent told me that was a different company, and asked me if I had "reached out" to them. I said of course I did, but reminded him that Bookit works with them, and directs you while making your reservation to use this particular company for your ground transportation. I got an apology, and then I asked to speak to a supervisor after I was told I couldn't speak to a manager, that I would have to e-mail them, supply my information, and I would get a quick response. I said I didn't want to do that, and settled for talking to the supervisor. He was terrible, non-consoling, and in the end, he told me that it was "agent error", and that "people make mistakes". That's when I got really mad, told him I was extremely disappointed in their service, and ended the call.
They are terrible. Do not use them. The details are so important with these vacation packages, and there was a total disconnect between Bookit/American Airlines/Best Day Travel. I will make my own arrangements in the future due to this entire experience. I wish there was a no star rating, because that is what Bookit deserves.

On 3/8/2014, I began searching the internet for the best travel deals. Of course Booklt.com advertised the best prices. So I decided to use them for my plane and hotel reservations in Puerto Vallarta. Upon trying to book the trip, I noticed that suddenly the flight information was no longer available, yet much more expensive ones were. I wanted to see if this was actually true, so I used my wife's computer (different ip address) and suddenly the deal was available again.
I managed to book the trip this time, but now I had an even bigger problem. Booklt.com had switched my hotel date to one day after it was suppose to be. Before hitting the submit button, I verified the dates (3 times) and I even had my wife verify them behind me. There is NO WAY, I booked my hotel room for a different day than my flight. When I called Booklt.com to fix the problem, I was told that it would cost me another $500 to get the date I wanted and that there was no way their website could've changed the date on me.
Yea right! I refused to pay the extra $500 for their mistake, so I asked to cancel the trip completely (which their website says I can do within 24 hours) and I was told that I could not cancel it!!!!! I had also purchased the trip insurance with this package, but of course, this type of thing is not covered on their policy. In addition, since Booklt.com had screwed up the dates when I purchased my trip, the dates were also screwed up on my travel insurance policy. If the travel dates on your policy don't exactly match the travel dates on your itinerary, your claim will be denied.
The only reason I know this is because I used to be a customer service rep for a travel insurance company and we use to get calls like this all the time. Since I knew what to do, I called Travel Guard to correct the dates and the spelling of my wife's name????? I am quite sure that travel insurance companies are in kahootz with online booking companies, since the slimy booking activities make their policies null and void. If there were better regulations in place protecting consumers from this type of activity and high enough penalties for scam artists, consumers would not be taken advantage of so much!!!!

I would like to warn other consumers about the poor policies that this company utilizes. Number one, do not use this company to plan any travel itineraries. I, unfortunately, was awed by the low prices offered at some nice resorts and I booked a hotel in Hawaii. Our plans changed and I had to cancel my reservation and was charged a fee of 19.95. I am okay with that fee, however I have not received a credit as of yet. Book-it charged my account within minutes of booking but now I am told it will take 15-20 days for a refund. To me that sounds very illegal that the company can hang on to your money that long. Being naive, I booked another trip with them and I have the same scenario, waiting for another large refund. Book-it will be using almost $3,000 of my money, interest free. That just doesn't sound right. I would not recommend using this website.

Upon trying to book a hotel with bookit.com, I had an issue with the online service. I had entered my personal information on the site several times and it did not go through. By the time I spoke to someone the rate had gone up, and hotel rates that I was able to view from my I-phone apparently were not available for them to look up because it was a mobile site even though I had given them the page number they requested. Apparently they can not view the bookit.com mobile site when you call in. I kept being told that hotels I was interested in were not available or twice as much as what I was seeing them for on the mobile site, as I was speaking to them. At the same time I did not want to continue putting my personal information online because it had not been going through earlier. I ended up settling for a hotel that was more than I had seen it listed for and not the one I had originally wanted (which was displayed on my phone as available, but I was being told was unavailable).
To make matters worse upon checking in at the hotel we were extremely displeased. I called bookit.com to see about possibly altering our reservations for the rest of the week and I was told we would be responsible for one night ($110 dollars) and additional fees. What a scam!!! Why should I have to pay over $100 to alter my reservation, especially being that we called immediately after arriving and the room which was not as described! I work full time and have children. It is not often I get an opportunity to go on vacation with my family. This experience affected our vacation and our time together. The place was not kid friendly and the outlets in the hotel were not working. Why should anyone be penalized a whole night stay & fees when they are that displeased with where they are staying?
I tried to contact the customer service and I got a continuous run around. I spoke to one woman, whom when I asked to speak to a manager she said she was "kind of like a supervisor" so that was just as good. I then receive an email from Vaunette ** an Operations Support Analyst at Bookit.com, asking me to contact her. Upon speaking with Vaunette ** I had become even more concerned and disgusted with bookit.com. I had explained to her that I had issues originally with trying to book online and then upon arriving being dissatisfied with the place and unable to alter our reservations without being subject to high fees.
At first she denied having a record of my calling in upon check in at the hotel, until I had told her the exact time I had called and suddenly she had the information. I also offered to send her all of the information I had written down in regards to the page numbers I had given to agents and was being told the hotels I requested were not available, when in fact they were. She seemed very disinterested and unconcerned with the issues I had experienced, and her way of remedying the situation was to email me a link of coupon codes which were accessible via their website.
Well no thank you! I will not be needed to utilize any coupon codes for a place I have no interest in doing business with! They appeared to be very dishonest and greedy, at the expense of my family and I having a hassle free vacation.

After working with 5 agents over the day, nothing was resolved, the funds are still frozen, and they failed to make money for themselves by booking the trip and left me very angry. To some agents' credit, they did care but seemed to lack the knowledge and resources required to solve what seems to be an ongoing or perhaps deliberate tactic by Bookit.com itself. We decided to start again since there was a transaction already. Michael went to process it and was told it was declined. Probably because there already was a transaction. Michael sent me a link so when I had the decline cleared I could click the link and have my booking. After 3 hours back and forth on the phone, Bill Me Later did clear the account and when I went to click the link surprise surprise, no link opened. I called BookIt and was told there was no booking for us. We threw our hands up and decided to go a different way. Grateful that the booking didn't go thru.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! I booked a $1100 hotel for April 2014 via bookit.com in January 2014. Big mistake. I then read the god awful reviews of bookit.com on this website and 3 days later, I cancelled my reservation. As per the terms of my reservation, I would be subject to a $19.95 cancellation charge which is fine. When I cancelled my hotel, I was told that it would take 10 days to process my credit. 11 days later, no credit and I called them. They told me the credit would be processed in 3 more days. 3 days later, no credit and I called them. They told me that my credit "was under investigation" and wouldn't be processed for an additional 15 days. "Under investigation". What the heck does that mean? I told them that I would be disputing the charge on my forthcoming credit card statement and that I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I told them that they would be losing a customer. They didn't care at all. It's amazing that a completely illegitimate business the likes of bookit.com is allowed to continue to operate in the United States.

I booked my vacation on bookit.com thinking I am paying in Canadian Dollars. I was not aware this is a company based in the US (I should have done more research). Nowhere on the website is it obvious which currency you are paying in. Once I was charged I noticed it was in USD funds on my Canadian credit card. Called them and they said, pull up the terms and condition and look under the ninth remark and it states the funds are in USD. I asked the lady if I could find this information anywhere else on the website. She said no. If I had known I would have given a different credit card. I ended up paying $239 above what was quoted on the website. Super annoyed about it. I have nothing but nice things to say about their customer service agents. They all seem very pleasant to deal with.

We flew in to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We arrived at the Occidental Grand Xcaret prepared to enjoy our all-inclusive resort vacation to find that Book It NEVER paid the hotel for our package. We spent almost 3 hours on the phone with Book It trying to get the situation remedied. Book It promised to send a check overnight to the hotel's corporate office to make sure we would be reimbursed for the money we had to pay to get our room. We paid the full amount that Book It had promised to pay the hotel, as we were already in Mexico and just wanted to enjoy our vacation. We checked with the hotel the next day to find the check had not arrived. We again called Book It who assured me they sent the check, and for some reason the hotel just couldn't "see it" in their system. We proceeded to check every day (calling Book It, talking to the hotel's corporate rep in the hotel) to see if the check arrived. It never did, and we left for Minnesota at the end of our vacation.
We had a fantastic time at the resort, we were treated great and with many apologies and special treatment from the hotel's side, but when we tried to contact Book It, we were constantly put on hold by Book It reps telling me they were "fixing" the issue. We talked to the hotel rep about the issue who told us that it wasn't just us who were in this situation, in fact several families left the hotel at check-in instead of having to pay AGAIN as they couldn't afford to re-pay for the whole package since Book It didn't pay. It's been 6 days and we have yet to see a resolution or refund. I will continue to re-post my negative reviews in the hopes of recouping my money and helping other avoid this situation. This was simply a huge mess.

By far the worst place I have dealt with. I booked a trip to the Bahamas for 5 days for 3 with meal plans. We accidentally booked the kids meal plan so we decided to call in and have it fixed. Keep in mind that it's only been 30 min from time of booking. The customer representative tried to stick us with the kids meals while telling us that the only thing for us to do was to additionally purchase the adult meal plans. They were very uncooperative until I mentioned that I just finished booking and threaten to cancel. She puts us on hold for over an hour to tell us that it will be reviewed and they would contact us within a few days. Yeah right, no this is not happening! We told her "** no" that it would exceed the allowed time to completely cancel our booking. She puts us back on hold for another hour. She gets back and tells us the that the time has been increased for another 24 hours and that someone will get in touch with us the next day. Ok, now that's what I'm talking about. Right?
So the following day we receive a call that we can upgrade to the adult meal plans. I give them my credit card numbers so they can charge the difference. Two days later we receive an email stating that the meal plans are no longer available and that we will be refunded. So we decide to call in to see what had happened because they were advertised and available when we originally booked the trip and why would they advertise let alone charge us for a service that wasn't available. They were quick to blame the vendor that offered the service, but I asked "what does the vendor have to do with you advertising the service they provide without knowledge if it's available or not?" They brushed us off like we meant nothing as a customer and that they didn't have to explain themselves to us!
So we get a hold of the vendor and he claims that the meal plans are available and that they don't understand why would Book It give us false information. And to add to it he said that they never received a payment for the reservation! Umm, but they were quick to charge our card... That's interesting, but not as interesting as finding out that not only did they never attempted to secure our meal plans but that they charged our card double the amount $$. So now we get back on the phone with book it to be put back on hold for hours because no representative or supervisor wanted to deal with us. Are you serious!!!! Really! So finally, a representative gets on and we explain everything. She said that she does see that the card has been over charged and she also sees that an email was sent out claiming that I was being refunded. So we explain to her that yes such an email was sent but the it would be for the original amount of the service and not the over charge. So we get put back on hold. Damn!!!
Another hour and a half later she comes back and said to us that she put it in the system and that I would be credited within 3 to 5 business days. Ok. Now she starts trying to sell us activities. We had to stop her in her tracks. No no no. We would not be dealing with Book it ever in our lives or the next. Thank you, but no thank, really! Now to mind you this was all within the first week. Starting, December 7th, 2013. We are writing this on December 17th, and still no signs of a refund! Still on the phone with these people to no avail.
Now, it's 10 business days that I should get my refund. And they claim that it's being processed today. Come on, are you ** with me! It was supposed to have been processed on the 8th it's now the 17th. People, steer clear off this site (Book-It). They truly don't care about the customer and they are not trying to help even when it's clearly their fault. They are just going to blame someone else (their vendors). It's funny that as soon as we booked, our card was already charged fully. Honestly, fully booked and charged. Not a cent to spare. And we have been waiting for nine days to be refunded and still not a cent, just excuses and blaming everyone else. And now that We have read everyone else's review, We know this is the beginning.. We haven't even reached our destination but I can only imagine what lies ahead. God bless anyone who books with them. You've been warned! They are going to ruin your vacation.

I said I would check with Visa and found out that BOTH PAYMENTS went through our Visa and the trip did NOT get booked. I phoned Book-it back and they advised the supply of hotels were NOT available at that price anymore and it would take 10 days to credit my credit card...
I said I wanted to talk to a SUPERVISOR Immediately as I had $7,000 on my Visa card. The agent came back and said the supervisor didn't want to talk to me but would put a rush on my credit to Visa. I said I was going to call Visa as I wanted it reversed today as there is exchange rates to deal with. Visa rep and myself called Book-it and Visa rep wanted to talk to billing dept and the rep would not transfer us to billing and they finally gave us the authorization number to reverse the credit card but incorrect number... I tried to book a hotel room in Chicago and received an error message and phone number. That's it. The error message itself was nothing more than a number. Turns out they took funds out of my account twice with no notification, no receipt... nothing. I had no reservation but spent 2x what the hotel room cost. I got an "I'm sorry" and told to wait 10 days for a refund. They neither tried to get this reservation with the hotel directly nor tried to provide an alternate reservation. Had I not have called to try and still book the room, I would have never known BookIt.com had taken funds out of my account. And they couldn't even get that hotel, nor did they try and assist with another one.
So right now I am out almost $200 with nothing to show for it, but their "I'm sorry, please wait 10 days for your refund". Avoid this site, and use a more quality travel site, they are out there. You don't need this hassle. Who takes money from a customer and provides no receipt or notification??? And gives nothing in return but a 10-day waiting period for a refund. Turns out also, to do a reservation manually on the site is a $25. So it fails to complete online.... then you have to pay additional funds for an agent to do it? Hmmm.....

I booked a trip with BookIt.com and within 12 hours called them about the terrible flight layover times (given but you had to calculate not posted). They looked for a new flight within the same airline and gave me no option. Since I had booked the hotel on the same booking. After looking at the information, they were very deceptive about layover times and flight times. After hours of conversation, they said there was a problem and would fix it, no sorry, no thanks. They sent me a change (longer flight times and no layover times same flights). The agent told me to get transportation and I did but had already had booked it with BookIt.com. Had to complain to get a refund. United Airlines changed my flight (because of BookIt.com practices) but it caused another problem with transportation. The earliest Ferry from the island goes at 5:30 and we had to be at the airport at 7:00, so we stayed at the Marriott.
I tell you this to understand that BookIt.com does not care about you. Read everything when you book with BookIt.com. Reps from BookIt.com company which I want transcripts have told me they book cheap flights and rooms. My room looked out on the cemetery. It was nice but they tried to upgrade us and did not clean our room until we called and complained. They said they were moving us as we requested for 30.00 (did not want inquired). I had to go out of hotel to get good Mexican food. Hotel food, NOT Gourmet. The flight times are correct maybe but layovers are not posted. The only thing BookIt.com wants is 25.00 to change anything. They are nuts about 25.00.

Left home in 30 degree weather wearing wool sweaters at 4:00 AM for a Cancun trip. Arrived in Cancun around 2:00 PM, 84 degrees only to find out that BookIt.com had not paid for our hotel that had been booked for over a month and paid for. Sat around the hotel for hours trying to get BookIt.com to get things straight. Numerous phone calls to them to no avail. After hours of hauling luggage, hot and tired, we put a room on our credit card just so we could shower and get some rest. The next day were spent trying to get BookIt.com to pay for our hotel. Finally, they did. I have no idea what happened as no one seems to think it's important to call and apologize to us or offer any kind of explanation. We stayed worried to death that we would get to the airport and may not have a flight back. The hotel apologized numerous times and said it wasn't their fault, BookIt.com has said nothing. However, I intend to say a lot.
I will post everywhere that I can and tell everyone that I can how they treated us. I know of two trips that I have cost them and hopefully other people will heed our advice and use another company. I would not crate my dog and let these people ship him across town, much less send another person out of the country! Let me add... there is NO customer service, no help, no emergency contact person when this happens. When you call, you get a different person every time and they just don't care.... You are on your OWN! People use a local travel agent or someone that you have used in the past. As posted here by other people, the "savings" are not always "savings" and the hassle is just not worth the worry and the time that you spend on your vacation to correct problems that they have created for you.
My husband and I cruise all the time and once a maid forgot/skipped cleaning our room. You would have thought the world had ended the way the cruise line acted but BookIt.com leaves me in Mexico to solve my own problems for two days. I will never use them again and to say that they really spoiled two days of our vacation is an understatement! I almost forgot to say that my view was the roof top of other hotels/motels, but if you made an effort, you could see the ocean (I forgot to mention that.... just so happy to have a room, I guess!).

Very simple. I book a resort vacation, after reading the reviews, it was definitely a poor resort. We called and was told that it was very simple if they did the process for us. It would cost lots more than 19.95 if we did it ourselves. The other resort was equally priced, and we have printout of the promo. Well we get back a week later, come the end of the month I get my credit card statement. I had the hotel part of the previous resort along with the new charges.
We called and was assured that it would be 72 hours for the credit to appear. Come the end of the month, charges still there. We called again and was told that there were 5 People on the trip not 4. We cleared that out with the resort and with airline band all they asked. Come another month, charges still there. We called again and now they claim the trip was a total of nearly 7,000 not 4300. We clearly show total paid on our print out which we provide and their answer, "the charges are a system modification fee" and mind this we canceled the first booking within 10 days. The Gran Porto Real resort is fabulous in every way, but BookIt.com made the beginning of our honeymoon there pure hell week. Imagine arriving at the resort after a long day of travel and going to the front desk to check in for a week's honeymoon with the honeymoon package only to find that the Gran Porto resort was never paid by BookIt. What a nightmare. BookIt failed to send our money to the hotel and the hotel never wondered why until we got there.
Then we find out from the front desk doing lot that no plans to give us our room...unless we paid for it ourselves. OMG! We went ballistic. BookIt, when I got on the phone, we were passed back and forth between reps and told it was the hotel's fault. The hotel says it was purely BookIt's fault for not paying them the funds that we paid them, nearly six months ago. So BookIt sat on our money for six months.
After hours of agony in the resort lobby fighting with the hotel and BookIt on the phone, we took an upgrade offer on the room by the hotel if we paid for it ourselves...again, by credit card in the hopes BookIt would pay the hotel at some point for their mistake. Days into our honeymoon, the front desk calls and says BookIt finally wired them the funds and the hotel would refund our credit card charges. What a nightmare. We will never use again BookIt. After we got home, we checked with our credit card. It was never credited with the two days we had to pay for the hotel.

I booked a vacation to Miami and had a lot of trouble trying to get back home to Toronto. BookIt.com sent me my itinerary through email, which I used to check-in for my flight. Upon my return flight home, my friends and I went to the WestJet counter where someone told us that our flight is actually operated by American Airlines. We proceeded to the American Airlines counter, which was a bit of a ways away, where someone there looked at my itinerary and told us that our flight is with WestJet because at the bottom of the flight information it says, "This flight is operated by WestJet." After we finally got back to the WestJet counter, there was no attendant there. There was an airport information desk right in front of the WestJet kiosk where I asked if she could page a WestJet attendant.
The Information clerk then told me that she cannot because there are no more WestJet employees at the airport as the last WestJet flight was at 2:40pm. My flight on my itinerary showed at 4:30pm departure to Toronto. The information clerk looked at my itinerary and then looked at her computer and told us there is a 4:30pm departure flight to Toronto but only with American Airlines. She showed us that our itinerary was wrong and there was no such flight leaving with WestJet. By this time, we are extremely irritated lugging around a bunch of suit cases back and forth through the airport with no idea of what flight we are actually on. We've gotten back to the American Airlines counter where the attendant again told us that we should be flying with WestJet. I told the attendant what the information clerk told me and he suggested that I call WestJet on the number he gave me.
I proceeded to call BookIt.com to confirm my itinerary, where the CSR told me that their system shows American Airlines. I told her the itinerary I have shows WestJet and I read it off to her exactly as it was on my phone. She told me the reservation she has on file for me that was sent from WestJet shows operated by American Airlines. She then transferred me to WestJet and they told me they do not have a flight in their system for that time with a WestJet plane, but they do have one for that time with WestJet but operated by American Airlines. Once I told the American Airlines attendant about this, he looked into it and said that we were indeed supposed to be on the American Airlines flight; however, with the time back and forth through the airport and being on the phone, we could no longer get on that flight. I was extremely pissed at this point, but the American Airlines attendant tried to rebook us on the 8pm flight; however, it was completely full.
I then called BookIt.com again (using my roaming) where they told me there is nothing they can do about it. I would have to rebook through American Airlines! BookIt.com is the one who sent me the wrong itinerary and continue to pass it off as everyone else's problems! Every airline I spoke to genuinely tried to help me, whereas BookIt just kept saying "It's not our fault. You need to speak to this company!" At the end of this fiasco, I was transferred to American Airlines rebooking dept where a lady helped me book a flight for the next day with WestJet which I had to pay for! At this point, we were already missing a day of work, we were completely exhausted and just wanted to get home! I paid for the flight. I explained the situation to several people, where they all told me the only spot the error occurred was from the email sent from BookIt. Because of the extra day I had to spend at the airport, I incurred extra costs on flights, another night of hotel (3 girls, 6 suitcases, we are not sleeping in the airport), roaming long distance and not to mention the one day of pay we each lost!
When I called BookIt, when I finally got home, to ask to be reimbursed only for the extra costs incurred during that extra day I spent there if it had not been for one of their incompetent employees, they simply told me it was not their fault and I need to speak to WestJet about it. I understand people make mistakes, but take ownership for the mistakes you make and stop trying to blame other people!! Can you honestly tell me how was WestJet supposed to help me, when the flight I was originally given was non existent!? What really got me was when I spoke to the last CSR from BookIt and she told me to call WestJet. I told her WestJet will only tell me to call BookIt because it is part of a vacation package and BookIt is the one who booked my flight. The CSR told me, "Well, if you call us back, I'm only going to tell you to call WestJet again."
Are you kidding me!?! This was THE WORST customer service I've ever had to deal with! Bookit.com, you need to take ownership of your mistakes! I know several people who are planning vacations and I was sure to tell them NOT to use BookIt! I will never use BookIt again! I will be calling BookIt again soon to speak to a manager about my situation and the reimbursement for that extra day. And if they continue to refuse to help me, I will be forced to file a lawsuit and believe me, I will be asking for more than just reimbursement for that day! ESP with the stress and frustration this entire situation had caused me!

I cancelled on 8/7/2013 and was issued a cancellation based on paying a $19.95 cancellation fee, which I do understand. But today, 8/17/2013, I contacted BookIt customer service to see why I have not gotten a refund. Per the representative Lorna **, I am finding out that there is no true refund for my entire trip - the $19.95. Now I am stuck with a credit from American Airlines for $632.60. to have completed travel up to one year from the original purchase date of June 22, 2013. The value of this credit is $632.60 and must be used by the original ticketed passengers. When you are ready to rebook using your credit, the airline will charge change fees ranging from $100.00 per passenger, as well as any difference in airfare.
We hardly travel, and if I knew the above I would not ever have used BOOKIT.COM. This is bull. Be aware. Had to pay an extra $60 plus taxes for each night for an upgrade. I have been in dispute with them over this extra cost to me and their deceitful advertising for 2 1/2 months and no resolution. Very simply put Bookit.com used Bait and Switch tactics to get the customer to use their service. For example the photo that they advertised of the room were staying in shows a very nice room and states "standard room" but when you arrive to check in the hotel tells you that that photo is of a Junior Suite and will cost an additional $50 per night. It seems that they may "accidentally" do this in many instances.

My message to Bookit.com customer service 08/10/13:
"I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with a company before. Bookit.com RUINED my recent vacation. After not being able to make it to our destination in San Juan Puerto Rico, we immediately called Bookit.com to cancel our reservation. We called 6 hrs prior to our check in time. We were advised by the rep that we could not cancel our reservation and that the hotel was refusing to return any of our money. We were stuck in another city and simply wanted to rebook at another hotel with the same funds that we spent at the hotel that we were not going to make it to. We were told NO, we could not do that after sitting on hold for 1 hr & 40 minutes.
The next day I called the property myself and was told by the revenue director, Maggie, that they never received a call from Bookit.com and would have gladly canceled the reservation. So here we have your company being dishonest & lacking integrity. The director was very sympathetic and called Bookit.com directly and we both sat on hold for over 30 minutes in which she advised the rep that they would issue a refund for one night but because they have no record of the first call being made, they could not issue the other night's credit. Again all we wanted to do was rebook at another hotel as we were stranded in another city because our flight was overbooked.
I was then put on hold by your customer service rep for 1 hr and 30 minutes. Her name was Audrey. She NEVER came back to the line ONE time to advise me of what she was doing. She then gets back on the line to tell me that she had processed a refund which is not what I asked for. I just wanted to use the credit to REBOOK another hotel. After I questioned her about the 1 hr 30 min hold and advised her I just wanted to rebook, she then just said, "Hold on," & placed me BACK on hold for another 30 minutes. We were literally waiting at the car rental place for her to come back on the line so we can proceed with our day. She finally comes back on the line 30 minutes later and asks what hotel we wanted to book at.
I am scrambling through my phone and pick a 3-star hotel that was within the amount of credit that Audrey said we had. We finally get to the hotel and it is the most horrible thing that I have ever seen or smelled. The hotel should have been rated at a 1 but was rated at a 3 in which you have the Embassy Suites rated as a 3 so I would assume that they are comparable. We could not bear the stench and talked to the hotel manager Andre who said he understood and would gladly release us from the reservation. Once again I am back on the phone with Bookit for another 1 hr & 30 min. On hold for 45 min and then on the phone with the rep for another 45 minutes.
Due to Audrey (previous rep) trying to cover her ** for leaving me on hold for over 2 hrs, she put a $50 credit on my account for a future booking. When the next rep tried to apply it, there were only certain hotels that it could be used for. So we had to go through each hotel to see if you could use your own voucher. At this point I am literally about to just cry from your company taking up now over 4 hrs of my day. He finally comes back on & gives me a confirmation # for our stay at the Sheraton. He then tells me that the hotel is booked. We get to the hotel & there is no fax for the booking or reservation. So back on hold again for another 45 minutes just for someone to answer the phone. I get Audrey again and I ask her not to put me on hold again. She agrees and faxes over the confirmation. We finally get checked into our hotel at 8 pm after initiating our call to you at 10 am in the morning. 10 HRS LATER!
After vowing to never ever use this HORRIFIC company again, I come home to see that you all made an unauthorized charge to my account for $152.83 for the booking in which the credit was to be used for. I have bills that are coming through my account and this is undoubtedly going to overdraft my account. As I am typing & reliving this nightmare all over again, I am on hold with your customer service department & have now been on hold for 44 minutes. I would like every penny that I spent with you guys refunded, an apology from someone in your upper management, from Audrey for leaving me on hold for over 2 hrs.
Your management team needs to look at your hold times, the quality of your customer service reps, and just revise your entire way of interacting with your customers. This has been the WORST experience I have ever had and I am going to undoubtedly tell everyone that I know about this TERRIBLE experience. The person traveling with me was literally in tears after having to sit for hours at the airport while we waited on you guys to correct something that should have taken no more than 30 minutes at the max. I have screenshots of my hold time and phone records. The bottom line is you guys dropped the ball and everyone at Bookit.com should be ashamed."

However, I didn't even bring this credit card to Cancun. Now I am waiting for the credit card company to send me the slip to verify my signature. I cannot remember whether I signed anything before I went on the activities but the credit card company said if in fact I did sign it, they cannot help me with that.
Bookit.com should not gave my credit card information away. When I booked the activities with them and gave them my credit card, I trusted that it will not be shared with the third party. The agent said the resort was pet-friendly and there were no additional fees associated with the dog and no additional needs with the animal. After booking, I checked the website of the resort to find that the resort requires a kennel along with current vaccination papers. When I called the resort personally, I was told only Bookit.com could handle this reservation. I called Bookit.com and, after a long wait on hold, they called the resort (again I'm on hold a long time) and confirmed that I would be allowed to stay, despite the requirement to have the papers and kennel with me. However, I would still have a $75 non-refundable pet fee.
Although the agent told me there was not an additional pet fee, I still accepted this addition and the stay since I didn't think there was much I could do about it. Then, before leaving my parents' home, my father had a medical problem which prevented my departure for this trip. I tried to cancel directly with the resort, but I was informed I had to go through Bookit.com again. After waiting 35 minutes, the agent called the resort only to return to me and say that a manager was not available and that I would have to call back in the morning. After calling in the morning, I was told that the resort required advance 24-hour notice, so they would charge a one day fee, including taxes, plus cancel fees of $19.99 and $25.00 from Bookit.com. So, to book on Sunday and cancel on Monday (actually Tuesday since "no manager was available"), it cost me about $157. Of course, this also wasted hours of my time as well.

The advertised items are not honored after paid for. Its deceitful advertising and they refuse to refund payment. I purchased a hotel stay package with BookIt. The package was supposed to include free valet parking, IMAX tickets and some other things. After paying, we received an email that listed charges for these items that were advertised on their website as part of the package. Because the screen was still open, I was able to take a screen shot of the web page we ordered from. I immediately called, and after about an hour on the phone, I was told that it was some kind of mistake, but they would have someone call me back to resolve it. I waited over a week for the call. No response from them. I called back and explained that it was specifically for these added benefits that were advertised in the package that I chose and paid for this hotel. They again admitted a mistake. I have spent several hours on the phone trying to get them to either honor what they advertised (I emailed a copy of the screen shot to the company) or give me an immediate refund.

Upon arriving in the hotel, they got stuck for in elevator for 3 hours with no help. My little girl got scared to death and sent me close to 50 texts messages, "Daddy, come here and help me." After this incident, neither my wife nor my daughter wanted to stay in this place. I have tried to contact Bookit.com and there was no help. The only suggestion we got from them was to get a taxi, go to another place and get another hotel at our own expense. I have contacted my credit card and received partial refund for hotel only, since Bookit.com is claiming that we used a plane and transportation. We did not buy separate air tickets and transportation; we bought the package.

BookIt is charging customers a $19.95 fee every time you modify a reservation. The policy states that it is $19.95 to cancel, but their system is set up to charge a fee if you have any changes to your reservation. I added a guest to my room and it cancelled, reissued my entire itinerary and charged me $19.95. So customers should be aware that there is a fee to modify your reservations as well.

CSR at BookIt.com confirmed the reservation had never been completed and said she was expediting my refund. There are many hoops I could tell you about from the last 2 days but essentially, they confirmed yesterday that the refund had been processed and today captured the fund from my account. You can't get anyone on the phone without waiting at least 25-30 minutes. When you call the corporate office, the phone doesn't even ring. If you try the fax number, it rings endlessly until a voice says they're unavailable and hangs up on you. This is an unbelievably shady company. Do not use them. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General as well as the BBB. Not that it's going to get my money to me any sooner, but maybe they'll go out of business if enough of us file formal complaints with the Florida AG.

I explained that I was meeting him in MoBay flying out of FL, and he was flying out of NY. Apparently, that was too confusing for them to understand so they booked us both for the same flight coming out of NY. I’m thinking this is a misunderstanding; I’m sure they can fix it. Long story short, after talking to four different reps, I still can't get a solution to this mess. They clearly booked my flight incorrectly and had the nerve to try and justify it by making some nonsense reason. I'm so upset right now. This was my first and certainly the last time I ever use this miserable company. To my surprise, they truly don't know what they are doing and don't seem to care either. I’m so disappointed.

First operator, Rob, stated that he can make sure he'll update my deal if that ever happened. I called the next day. Desiree refused and said that I need to pay $20 to get the perks and discounts even though it's the exact same flight plan/hotel! There was a change in my plans that forced me to cancel the booking (well within the hotel's accepted "cancellation with refund" time period). On Bookit.com, I went to cancel my reservation and there was no notice anywhere that I might not be refunded for the price. I emailed their customer service on March 21 and again a few days later. It took them 16 days to respond. On April 6, they finally sent a response, flatly stating "you will not be receiving a refund for your cancelled booking." We booked with Bookit.com also. We have rented in Costa Rica before so we did not think anything about the deposit since it was returned to us when the car was returned on the last trip. This time was different. The car rental company was Economy and they kept our $1,000 deposit and we have not heard a word from them even though we have called and e-mailed them about our deposit. Bookit.com claims they had nothing to do with that transaction, but they are doing business with a bad company in Costa Rica who was taking deposits from other people at the counter as well as us. I called back the second time because my refund still has not posted - another hour and a half! Seriously... I called a third time because the price dropped on their website - about an hour on hold. Wow! Now I get to a stupid rep stating, “We have to cancel your reservation in order to give you the dropped price.” Now keep in mind I have a $100 discount from the original booking and all the screwup that they have done. She tells me, "I will cancel your reservation, which is going to cost you a night stay and an additional fee to rebook." What the hell, I do not want to cancel. I just want the price adjustment. But no, they have to cancel and charge and rebook. In that case, you are not saving any money; in fact, you are paying much more. Oh and my discount is non-transferable to the new booking.

I booked a trip to Honolulu including hotel, airfare, attraction and car rental ($5,163.21).The attraction was a dolphin encounter, which I assumed was at the hotel (since it was advertised in the hotel info). Upon closer review, the attraction I booked was not at the hotel, so I cancelled it. I received a credit but it took a number of phone calls (minimum 45 minute wait) and email follow-ups (booked 10/5/12, cancellation 10/31, credit received 12/14). On 10/31, I notified BookIt that I did not receive a confirmation on my rental car. Many emails and calls later, I was told there were no cars available. I called the trip insurance to find if I could cancel the trip and be reimbursed for the cancellation fees, but I was told no.
When I asked what I was supposed to do without a car, the rep told me to take a bus (nice, for a $5000 trip). When asked if I could cancel the insurance as it was obviously worthless, I was told I would have to do that within 15 days (page 15 of the 15 page insurance description of coverage). At some stage, I did receive a direct number for a rep who was courteous, but had no authority. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she stated that he would call, but he never did. We went back and forth, and I eventually booked my own car rental and cancelled BookIt's. When I asked for reimbursement, I was told on 11/21 that they would consider it when I picked the car up at the counter. I finally received the credit on 12/14.
The airline was another fun ride. I upgraded the outgoing flight on Alaska Airlines with no problems, except BookIt messed with the reservation (for some unknown reason), and only one segment was upgraded (easily resolved with an Alaska Airlines rep). The trip home to Orlando was on a United flight, which, even with the upgrade to Economy plus, was a cattle car experience. I finally received the car rental reimbursement on January 16, to find that takes and fees of $130 were my responsibility (read the fine print). This was communicated by the supervisor via email with a "Have a nice day" closing. Lessons learned: Buyers beware - read the fine print. You get that for which you pay (Anonymous).

They did not even have the foresight to think about the added volume to their servers and also did not even add any staff to answer calls; they just had the normal night shift trying to take all the calls. The best she could say is they are trying to think of a way to offer a second chance!
What a bunch of crap. She even said there was no way for a manager to look up how much the sale would have been and that she does not have any way of overriding the system. I told her I would be posting this response to every site I can find because if this is the type of service they offer, who would want to use them? Had I known beforehand that this hotel had a resort fee, I would not have booked the plane reservation being that I could not get a refund if I cancelled. This was ** service on their part. Why was this not verbally communicated to me? My overall trip was only two hours.
The plane left today at 11:16AM and I was in Orlando at 1:20. I was stranded at the airport until 3:40 and still did not reach my hotel until after 4:20. Terrible bootleg service and I'm being nice. I then booked an additional 2 people to join us along with 6 excursion packages. We received confirmations stating that everything was set. At the airport at check in, we found out that BookIt had voided 1 airline ticket and the flight was full.
My request for refund of change fee on non-existent ticket is under review. After 3 hours on the phone, she and her child were rebooked the next day. Because one party arrived late, her transportation voucher was not with her and she had to pay a cab. My request for 1 transportation voucher was denied. They gave us an airline credit but no refund for the day at the resort that those two didn't get even though it was their fault. Our party of 6 arrived and departed on 3 different flights and times. Room had no clock, a broken phone and hair dryer. BookIt cited hotel discretion. Hotel cited full hotel at our requests for changes.
When we went to book our excursion to the Dolphin Park, they had one voucher instead of 6. Further review showed only 4 of 6 requested had been processed and only one reported to the venue. Ultimately, the excursion was cancelled due to weather and we were assured a refund for all 6. We're still waiting on that! Eternal hold times and a lot of finger pointing after 1/3 of our vacation spent fixing Bookit's mistakes has so far resulted in very little. I purchased in March, 2010 a vacation to Las vegas through bookit.com, and they also had an add for some meal tickets that sound very attractive, and that we're suppose to have all the participant restaurants inside Caesars Palace, the hotel where I was going to stay during my vacation. Because it was my first time visiting Las Vegas, I decided to buy the Mela tickets also, but I had a very unpleasant experience. When I got to Caesar Palace I went to the store from where I had to redeem my meal tickets. I received my card that covered four persons for three days meals. I got the flyer with the restaurants that accepted the card, and the first restaurant was Planet Hollywood, right next to the store. Me and my family went inside, had breakfast and after that, decided to take a look on the flyer.
To my surprise, none of the other restaurants were inside Caesars Palace. I panicked first but then I said, we will try to find them. And we did, but we had really hard time in finding them, and besides that, the one that we found were fast food, not restaurants. That is not the way I wanted my vacation, so I decided not to use the card anymore, hopping I will receive some refund. They do have in their terms specified that these are nonrefundable, but it doesn't seem fair to pay for something that you did not use. I tried to resolve this matter amicably, but I have no success. I agree to pay for that one meal that we had, and they can charge me a cancellation fee, how much they think necessarily. I would probably agree to pay one ticket from the four, but this is just a rip off (what they do). Now, besides having to pay for something that I didn't use, I also have to pay interest because I paid with a credit card and I try to solve this problem since March. The economic result is the fact that I have to pay $680.00 instead of paying for a four-person breakfast.

I immediately contacted Continental Airlines by phone and confirmed the dates of November 26, 2009 to December 2, 2009. Bookit.com was then notified once again by phone and we advised you all that the flight arrangements have been taken care of and if there would be any extra charge for the two nights. Your employee stated, "No, there will not be any extra charge and I will update your booking."
