    I booked a resort in Punta Cana with BookIt.com. They were really the best price by far in comparison with other sites. BookIt sent me an e-mail confirmation with the title BOOKING CONFIRMED and when I called the hotel to confirm, they did not have my confirmation yet and mentioned they were out of rooms. I called BookIt's Customer Support and they mentioned that they were still working on getting confirmation from the hotel. They should really send an e-mail with the subject CONFIRMATION PENDING instead of CONFIRMING the booking. A poor choice of words that can easily affect someone's vacation planning.

    In the end, I have the hotel confirmation for my reservation, but it was only 48h after BookIt "CONFIRMED" my booking.

    Rating is presently below average and here is why: I booked my vacation online with agent. After one hour and additional assistance the next day, I was able to book a flight and hotel reservations. In addition, since we got a direct flight, the representative did tell me transportation would be included. When I called back to confirm trip I asked about transportation, a representative I spoke with said, they would look into this even though no such arrangements were made.

    This was about four weeks ago, today I mention no such follow up was made by second representative. No notice in my inbox email. I wanted to know about our transportation to and from airport. Third representative said, no proof of any such arrangement was made and no notations made on account about transportation. I said I would not be calling if transportation was not promised with the booking.

    The first, second and now, the third representative did not provide or clearly spoke their name. This is the first time booking a vacation with Bookit and I can only say that after about eight weeks no resolution has been reached. Once again I wAs told by third representative to ask for activities dept. for anyone in particular? No he said just call the number again and ask for anyone In that department. My question is if I called twice already why was I not told this by representative who said they would follow up? I feel like I am getting a run around rather than straight answers to questions like what happened to our transportation, why has this not been resolved and who is in charge at bookit? Someone over there has to be held accountable for misrepresenting a service or delivering the service of transportation that was offered.

    We booked our vacation in March, and got a really good deal. No other sites could compete with the price we got, others required a time share sit in and we just aren't interested in that. We were happy with the resort selection, as well as the choices for flights. There is something for everyone. We were satisfied right up until the day we were to leave. We woke up to a house with no heat at 1:30 am (it's COLD in the northeast!!). I called the BookIt hotline at 1:30 am because I knew we wouldn't be making the early morning flight. The message said to call back during regular business hours Monday-Friday 9am-3am and Saturday/Sunday 9am-1am. Well, I was calling at 1:30 am on Saturday morning, which I would assume are still FRIDAY hours. Nope.

    I called American Airlines, they told me we would have to pay $200 per ticket, plus the difference in face value to change the flight but I couldn't change any of my tickets because of the way BookIt reserved them, everything has to go through BookIt. If you read the fine print BookIt charges you a fee for any changes made after initial booking. That's fine, but they were closed and I had an emergency. At 9am sharp we were on the phone with BookIt attempting to get help, we had already missed both flights out at that point and considered no shows at the airline. The first girl told us that the 'flight specialists' are off on the weekends, but she could email them to have it taken care of, and 'it wouldn't take long'. We waited a few hours and still did not hear back.

    We called American Airlines again. That girl was able to add us to a flight the next day and reserve our original return flight again since we had been kicked out of the system due to the missed flight. American Airlines told us they couldn't finalize any of the changes without permission from BookIt, but had added us tentatively. We called BookIt again. "Sorry, the 'flight specialists' are out on weekends'." We must've called begging for help six times. They told us the specialists were out till Monday and we would possibly have to wait until then (we were to come home on Thursday, who wants to wait until Monday to get help and fly out on Tuesday only to return on Thursday?!).

    We finally drove two hours one way to the airport so we could talk to the airline employees face to face. The lady there said we were good to go the next day and printed boarding passes. She said we lucked out, there were no fees involved. Out the door we went with boarding passes in hand, no thanks to BookIt, which by that time we still had not heard from and we were going on five hours since our original call. Lo and behold, within 20 minutes of leaving the airport BookIt is calling us. They had been notified of the change in tickets by the airline. Imagine that, we begged for help and they wouldn't help so we went around them.

    When they called, this is what we got, "Surely there are charges involved, we need to verify that and get back with you." We told them we were told there were no charges, and would they please notify the resort that we would be a day late. They said they would email the resort. Keisha called me back and told me up front the call was being recorded for quality purposes. I saw that as my chance to interject my comments about the lack of help. She did verify no additional charges were made by the airline. What a nightmare.

    Moral of the story - do not have an emergency on the weekend. The 'flight specialists' are off and no one else can help with flights. I seriously doubt we would've gotten help all weekend. The only reason they did call us is because they were notified by the airline we made the changes ourselves. I will point out we did not have travel insurance. We didn't want to reschedule our vacation, we just needed to delay it a day and we were willing to pay the airline fees if needed. We just couldn't get help from BookIt in a decent amount of time.

    I booked a trip to the bahamas and found out a few days before my departure from a family member in the bahamas that the resort I was staying at was closed due to a storm. I received no email nor phone call from BookIt.com to notify me about this and I had to call them to confirm that information. They accommodated me for another resort however initially wanted me to cover a cost because the new resort was more expensive. After sternly expressing how inappropriate and unprofessional this entire situation was, they decided to cover the cost for me.     I booked my trip to Mexico for Dec. in May so I could get the best flights/hotels, etc. It turns out WestJet changed their schedule and BookIt claims they sent an email notifying me of the change in July! I never received the email and only found out about the change this morning, less than 24 hours before leaving. At the very least I would have expected more than one email and/or contact to ensure the email was received. No one, not BookIt or WestJet, cares about the inconvenience this has caused me personally, and doesn't think any sort of compensation is necessary. Very disappointed. I have learned it doesn't pay to book early and absolutely no advantage to using BookIt. In fact there is less accountability using a 3rd party since they just blame one another when an issue arises.

    We bought tickets through BookIt.com for all-inclusive to Punta Conta Cana Dominican Republic. We arrived here on December 9. American Airlines lost our luggage. It is the end of day two of our 6 day vacation and I am wearing the same underwear I came in. I have no medication and no clothes... nothing. We still do not know where our baggage is. This is a horrible and emotional tragedy. My husband is a normal size and at least he was able to buy a pair shorts at the resort. I cannot.     She was extremely knowledgeable and over the top friendly. We were swayed to book when we did because of her! Honestly!!! We called once we received the information we needed about the resort and flights. We were two families traveling for the first time and we wanted to make sure we chose the perfect destination and resort. The resort we chose was not yet open yet so we needed to know the guarantees should it not be complete and she was extremely well versed and explained our options if something went wrong.

    After a terrible experience on my last trip with bookit.com, I encounter giving bookit.com another chance, why not right? I called customer service to book my trip. I was helped by Willie **. He gave me a very good deal and went for it. He was very helpful and talked English very well. The only problem is that after hanging up I realized I misspelled my last name by one letter, therefore I had to call again a couple times to get the airplane tickets fixed, the hotel portion fixed, and the car rental part fixed, asking to be transfer to one another one by one. At the end this other lady named Sara I think, was very helpful and was able to contact United Airlines to directly correct the misspelling and also told me the Hotel reservation name was also corrected. Everything seemed fine by that moment.

    After a couple of days after giving the down payment, and now about to give the 2nd stated payment on the pay delay program, I started wondering about why I haven't received a hotel confirmation... Eventually I called customer service and I was told to wait 2 more days for it. 2 days went by and no hotel reservation was sent to me. I decided to directly contact the hotel and they immediately responded saying that no reservation was made under my name for the dates provided and asked me to contact bookit.com in regard of the problem. I go ahead and called customer service again, asked why I still haven't received a hotel confirmation and the rude lady just couldn't help me at all and even started mocking me and told me I was on pay delay.

    Problem: If the reason I still haven't received a hotel confirmation number is because I am on pay delay, it would be legally correct you guys specify on the terms & conditions that as a customer on pay delay you will not see a hotel confirmation until you successfully complete the payment plan... I really don't want to get to that same situation as last year; getting to front desk and being told your booking agency didn't paid or made reservation is just the worst.

    While booking on line there was an issue with the payment method that was being used. A confirmation # was provided and said that partial payment was made and a # given to call. I had to leave for work, called by I returned home and called the number provided. Customer service said that booking that was made in the morning time was no longer held. Customer service did say that they could help me but with a service fee of $25. The room/booking that I believed was originally held was no longer available. Reservation was to be booked for the royal club. Now my booking is for a standard ocean room.

    I called back, for a service fee customer service can look into the upgrade, at an additional charge for club level. My point is in the morning before I left for work my reference number I was given was **, which was for the flights and club level room. When I returned home from work and called, I no longer had the room, a pending charge was on the credit card, customer service said it was just pending and that no charges will be put through on that credit card. I had to rebook, and now I'm at the same hotel, same flights but both the room I wanted.

    The website repeatedly failed to take the final BookIt command with the same multiple error messages. I kept filling in the information it said was missing with the same dismal results. I finally gave up and called it in. I had to supply most of the same information again. The lady that handled it did a nice job, but overall your booking interface at the website was extremely poor in getting the job done. She did neglect to ask for frequent flyer information. I guess I got to go back in and update that. I also believe that the cost also went up a bit from where I started. I've used your service several times and the booking interface is the worst in the industry. You should focus on basic customer needs not selling a bunch of add-ons to jack up the price. Information entered should be saved not re-entered multiple times.

    I booked a vacation package through Bookit.com. My vacation package was for an "ocean view" room at an all-inclusive resort and flight for two people. On arrival at the resort, I had a problem because the room I was assigned had no ocean view. The resort categorized the room as an ocean view room, but the view was blocked by trees. So, instead of an ocean view, I got a "jungle" view. I contacted the front desk at the resort to request a room change. They told me to come back in two days and they would have a better room for me. I came back to them as I was told, but they did not have a room on that day either. I was again told by the resort to come back the next day, which would be the fourth day of our trip.

    I came back on the fourth day, they showed me a room in a different building on the same floor as the room I had with tree view. I was very disappointed, because half of my stay had gone by and I'm not getting what I paid for. I requested that the resort moved me to a garden view room and give me a refund for the difference. But they said since I used Bookit.com as my travel agency, I need to contact Bookit and they cannot give me a refund. I called Bookit from the resort, which is in another country while on vacation to have them help me with the situation. At that point, I felt like I'm being ripped off in another country and needing help from Bookit. However, Bookit.com failed me. Bookit.com's agent told me that "Bookit.com is bounded by what the resort advised."

    I asked the Bookit agent if I can downgrade to a garden view room and she said there would be a fee involved in order to do that. I was so upset. I felt like I'm being ripped off and pushed around with no help. I called Bookit a second time and spoke to another agent, the agent told me I have to wait til when my trip is over and deal with this later when I get back to the States. I had no choice but to come back to front desk to request another room change. On the fifth day of my trip, they finally gave me a room on the fourth floor with a view of the ocean. I thought that travel agency should be the voice of customers and should help their customers in situations like this. But, it did not happen.

    I called Bookit.com again after I got home to see if I can request a partial refund for those nights that I was in the jungle view room. However, a Bookit agent told me to contact the resort on my own and request a refund from them. The resort I was at did not have a reservation department on site and I was told by the front desk to contact Bookit and ask Bookit to contact their reservation department for a refund. The resort will not give me a partial refund since I used a travel agency. Now, Bookit told me to contact the resort on my own, which would go nowhere since they did not want to deal with me in the first place when I was there. I've never have this experience at a resort before or any experience like this with a travel agency. I will stay away from Bookit.com forever and ever...

    I booked online and got a notice that my airline booking went through but not the hotel. I gave me a phone number to call, but the person taking the call said she had no idea what I was talking about and I had no booking. I read her the message on the screen over and over without any luck getting her to understand. I asked to speak with her supervisor and was put on endless hold. I gave up and then got an email with another number to call. The person taking that call was very helpful and got the trip booked. But when I checked the reservation, it appeared I hadn't gotten the best discount so I emailed him asking about it but got no reply.     After booking a flight and hotel package for my husband and me in April, I logged in to check on our flight about two months ago and saw a note saying I needed to contact BookIt.com because there was an issue with our flight. I called and was told that my card must have been declined because the flight was never booked. The representative then asked if I would like to rebook the flight since it didn't go through. Luckily I didn't or I would have paid for 2 flights to Cancun. I knew the card wasn't declined because I had been charged for the entire trip.

    After multiple phone calls we were refunded for the flight portion of the trip. As compensation, the rep offered us a $50 off a hotel stay coupon. She gave me the code and told me if I logged into my account there would be a link directing me how to use the coupon code. There is never a link in my account to use the coupon code, nor is there a place to enter a coupon code when I tried to book a reservation online. I called to see if it could be done over the phone. Five phone calls later, I gathered enough information to understand that I must have been given an unusable coupon code to make us feel better about the error (it did not).

    I told them since they were unhelpful, I wanted to cancel our Cancun hotel. She could not find my reservation anyway, even when I had the information pulled up on my credit card statement and on the BookIt.com website. She said there was no way for her to refund it because she couldn't find it. When I asked for her supervisor, she hung up on me. I was able to cancel online but the runaround and misinformation means I will never use BookIt.com again.

    I booked an all inclusive travel plan to Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort on 10/9/16. On 10/10/16 I called Bookit Customer Service to explain that my travel companion did not have a valid passport. I asked if I could extend the dates and not cancel the hotel and reschedule the flight for 8 weeks. I guess the word reschedule did not make a difference... I was charged for a cancellation fee of $500.23 and $25.00 for rebooking with a agent. I think this fee is grossly unfair, since I did not intend on a cancellation, only rebook the original dates so I could comply with international law and she would be ALLOWED in Mexico.

    My companion apply for the passport and by paying additional fees was able to expedite the issuance of a passport. I also have Capital One Venture Card I could have arranged that my miles be used for this travel. If I would have known that your agents play hardball on the phone with customers. I will never book a trip with Bookit, unless this issue is resolved.

    We went to the Bahia Principe Luxury Don Pablo and had bugs and worms infestation on bed sheet, disgusting. The toilet was filthy. The drawers were warped and crack and we could not put out clothing away. We told the management. Truly we were so disgusted and outraged at their attitude.     Wow! I cannot say enough about Leslie who helped me book a vacation that I thought I lost online when the clock struck midnight. Why would you still charge me $25 for cancellation? This is my first and last time using BookIt.com.     Bookit.com had some good deals, but I was having a harder time navigating the flight options for trips. I had decided to go to the Dominican Republic to a new resort that was opening there. The website did not allow me to filter the flights very well to specific airports, I could only narrow it down to DC area airports. Upon calling a representative, they were very helpful in providing me with options that matched my needs and to help me book my trip. The only questions they could not answer was if I booked using an airline miles card, if I would receive the perks or not. (E.g. If I paid with Delta American Express for a trip that had Delta, flights, would I receive the perks such as priority boarding and free bags.) Otherwise everything was great!

    Also, tickets purchased through Bookit.com are bulk tickets and as such do not have a fare class associated with them so generally, the only way if you wanted an upgrade later, is with status or to pay with miles from the lower level ticket that the airline offers. E.g. American Airlines you can use miles plus a fee but could not purchase an upgrade with cash only.

    Highly doubt I would use BookIt again. We were a group of 4 couples, went to book at the same time, and NONE OF US got the same air fare. 3 of us had to call and use call center because we would select flights on the web, hit continue, and everything would change... And even then, while on the phone, we all got different fares on the same flights and packages. Were told fares change by the minute, which is not true. I book travel for my family all the time, daily sometimes it fluctuates, by the minute no way. After this experience, I highly doubt I would tell anyone to use a site that can within 5 minutes of booking one, another can cost 250.00 more! Very dissatisfied customer.

    Found the exact same room, dates, add-ons (insurance and airport transfers) for LESS on their website and 1 other website and they REFUSE to price match their own site. Not changing my reservation in any way and is EXACTLY the same. They state the price match is considered a change to the reservation therefore subject to change fees. That is YOUR INTERNAL PROBLEM, not a change to my reservation. Get real. You just don't want to honor YOUR own policy.     Tried booking for the first time with this website and went through all the steps. When I paid and got the cancellation, I noticed it was booked under the wrong hotel. The webpage had made an error in loading and I was stuck paying a $50 cancellation and processing fee. I am highly disappointed and will never use this website again and suggest you don't either.
