Cancelled within my window, they still charged me. They tell me to dispute the charge with my bank or try the hotel, but it is BOOKING.COM that made the mistake and didn't cancel my room in time with the hotel even though I have a verification email from them saying I won't be charged.

I'm deeply dissatisfied with Booking.Com. They are quick to take your money and profit off your reservations, but when it's time to assist their clients in settling issues, they shift the responsibility to the vendor. Even though I spoke with their so called 'customer service' department numerous time about my cancelled reservation, they did nothing to help me. I will NEVER again use their platform and I encourage others to STAY AWAY!

Some of the Customer Service Representatives for Booking.com are very unprofessional. It has been HIT or MISS. An incorrect booking for April 20th was cancelled on April 13th by both me and the hotel. They still charged me. To date, I have NOT received a refund. They have spoken to the hotel management 2 additional times and they emailed the cancellation. They still keep giving me the run around in refunding my money! Now, 10 calls later (including as I write this review) they are calling the hotel AGAIN to confirm the cancellation. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

2. Be stupid enough to trust them, pay the requested amount and wait. They are not able to process the payment, but they will see it in the system. You call them at least 5 times, and each time you get the confirmation that everything is okay with your booking (confirmation in writing also).
3. Be the world's #1 fool and trust them again, and you will remain with no reservation and your money blocked.
Everyone has lame excuses, and is very sorry for the whole situation, but they can do nothing to repair their own mistakes and incompetence. Since I'm not the most wealthiest person, I need to wait for them to give my money back (in 7-12 days - as they said, but will see again how reliable they are) to make another reservation and for sure for another (higher) price, since I'm 1-month prior check-in. Great job Booking team, you managed to destroy everything you were designer for, and lose another customer. Keep it up!

If I can give 0, I would. I Booked flight with Booking.com. They cancelled my flight a night before travel date. Only sent me an email after work hrs the day before my travel. Tried to reach them through online customer chat, they were tossing me back and forth. Finally said I should contact the airline they collaborate with myself. Can you imagine, I booked through Booking.com, how do you expect me to contact an airline, I had no initial contact with. I asked for a phone number, they just ended the chat. Horrible.
The next day, I had to trace the airline center in my country and discovered the new booking reference was NOT VALID. Hmm. Contacted Booking.com for a refund as I had to book emergency flight through another airline as I was travelling for an Exam. It's over 2months now, NO REFUND, EVEN WHEN I call, no positive response. They are still tossing me back and Forth. Booking.com please refund me. I'm still waiting for my money. The worst part is they refuse to send an email for all our conversation to avoid responsibility. Horrible people.

I made a reservation that said it could be canceled up until 12 noon the day of arrival. I canceled it the day before. I even got an email that says the cancellation was with no charge. The hotel would not honor Booking.com's cancellation policy. I spoke with a booking.com rep the day after I got the charge and sent the required proof of charge. I was told that the merchant did not respond and that they would issue a refund thru booking.com within 15 business days. No refund was issued. I then called again, had to send documents again and speak with several reps. I spent 2 hours on the phone! Was assured that it would be taken care of within 48 hours. The time has passed and no refund. This business has the worst customer service. I can no longer believe anything on their site as truth nor anything their reps say. Please save yourself some time, frustration and money and book directly with the hotel!

Be careful when you book any trip with the website. I am amazed by how they can mess up both my flight booking and hotel booking. Booked a package with flight and hotel where they posted wrong information for both parts of the trip. It is like they do not care what information they've put up on their website and also believe they hold no response for any false information they had regarding that. They just lightly wave you off by saying you can cancel it or suck it up, without considering the time spent planning the trip and also how different the ticket price could be. Not reliable, not trustworthy.

Bought a Flex-Ticket flight through Booking.com in December. I had to change my flight so I messaged the chat. The person told me that because I have a flexi ticket I cannot make changes to my flight. I had to cancel and rebook? (This makes absolutely no sense if it's supposed to be flexible.) So I cancelled the flight and waited for a refund. Two months later, the refund never comes. So I book through another airline. I called, emailed, and messaged Booking.com in order to find out why my ticket had not been refunded. They gave made every lying excuse in the world. They told me to contact the airline. The airline gave me proof of the refund. So I went back to Booking.com, but they told me that I must email their partner site GoToGate.com. So I contacted them and they also gave some excuse about waiting for a refund from the airline. So I showed them the proof as well.
Emails and calls were going back and forth for three months. Then suddenly, I received an email from Booking.com in March stating that they have refunded me the money. However, the money has not showed in my account. Now it's May. I continue to get excuses when I call. I've called my bank to do an investigation. I'm waiting on their reply. In the meantime, I've tried to report them to BBB, but I cannot get an address or email that they respond to. I've reported them to the FTC. I've also reported them to Resolver in Amsterdam because that is where they are headquartered. This is a shame. I loved Booking.com, but after this, I will never deal with them again.

I recently booked a room through Booking.com, expecting a comfortable stay with two beds as specified in my reservation. However, upon arrival, I was dismayed to find that the room provided had only one bed. When I reached out to booking.com’s customer service for assistance, I was met with disappointment yet again. Instead of taking responsibility for the error and assisting me in resolving the issue, I was simply redirected to contact the hotel directly. It was disheartening to encounter such a lack of accountability and customer support from a company that prides itself on facilitating seamless bookings.
This experience has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. It is evident that booking.com failed to uphold its end of the bargain and ensure that my booking specifications were met. It is unacceptable that they would wash their hands of the situation and place the burden solely on the customer to rectify the mistake. I urge potential customers to exercise caution when booking through booking.com, as my experience highlights their failure to address and resolve issues effectively. If reliability, accountability, and quality customer service are important to you, I recommend exploring alternative booking platforms that prioritize customer satisfaction.

Had a horrible experience with Booking.com! Lost hundreds of dollars and 5 hours of time due to booking.com agents asking us to repeatedly contact the property. We booked a trip, but required rescheduling due to a severe storm warning. This was a "partner booking" - with the partner listed as "HotelBeds". The description mentioned that we can contact the property directly for modifications/changes. We spent several hours discussing this with Booking.com and also with the property directly. The property was cooperative and informed us that they are totally okay with modifying our reservation date, however they required confirmation from Booking.com about this change.
Booking.com agents kept telling us to contact the property stating that the property should be able to modify this for us. However, the property mentioned that they cannot modify reservation unless they receive an email confirmation. Booking.com kept telling us that they cannot email the property due to a "system limitation". They also could not contact the partner (HotelBeds) that they booked with or even provide us with a valid number to contact them. It seems Booking.com is unaware of who they are partnered with and they do not check the reputability of their partners. A google search for "HotelBeds" reveals horrendous reviews outlining hundreds of customers who have had terrible experiences.
The company has a 1 star rating with many customers reporting losing hundreds of dollars. HotelBeds also provides no customer support or means to contact them. Booking.com representatives are also unable to contact HotelBeds (a company they have PARTNERED with), and moreover they cannot even provide customers with a contact number to contact them. On top of this, Booking.com is unable to escalate the request or provide any voucher/partial-refund/compensation for the loss of time and money. They informed us a manager will contact us within 30 minutes, however that did not happen either.

I drove over 4hrs to an event that brings over (10,000 people to this small town and books all the hotels near by) in another state to find out that the condo I booked 3 months prior though them was double booked. Lucky for me the property manager caught the issue before I arrived at the property and contacted booking, their response was it was their fault and refused to refund all my money and had to find another hotel in an area that there was no hotels available. Made for the worst start of a multi day stay with other friends. The only positive things I have about this ordeal was the great condo property manager.

Booking.com did not keep its promises. My daughter made a reservation through them to LaQuinta Hotel (that’s a bad hotel and will give it a review on its page). Anyway, that hotel cancelled at the last minute for no reason. They still charged my card. Booking.com said they would find me another hotel, and the cost would be on them. That’s a lie! I ended up paying $275 for that hotel. Booking.com said they would give me the difference. That’s a lie! Because my daughter’s name was on the reservation, and my name was on the invoice, they said they could not give me the difference. What is so hard to get? I am the mother with the funds, so I paid with my card for the trip! I told them that. They still found an excuse not to pay. It’s very sad that they did not keep their promises. Do not book with Booking.com, just book directly with the hotel. We tried to check in at our hotel on a recent trip only to find out that our booking was cancelled, with no advance notice to us and no explanation why! We spent hours trying to work through booking.com’s customer service to find a replacement and ended up having to book a new hotel on our own dime. We therefore needed to cut our trip short due to the high price of hotels on such short notice. Don’t take a chance with your vacation.

I purchased a vacation package through the booking.com website, but was billed in US dollars. Booking.com customer service is almost impossible to interact with. I finally was able to speak with a Priceline.com rep (sister company to booking.com) and was told that there is nothing that can be done. I was told I was just confused, and that billing in US currency, rather than what is specified in your booking.com account preferences, is normal.
I have booked vacation packages with other online services and did not have this issue. The prices advertised there were billed in Canadian currency. Do not use booking.com or priceline.com. It appears that they engineered their websites to intentionally confuse their customers into thinking the prices advertised are in their chosen currency. They are not. STOPPED USING THEM. Offered a £20 accommodation voucher when I booked my teenage daughter flights via them. Voucher had to be used within two weeks. Meanwhile, I was not advised the connecting flights had changed, twice. Could not use accommodation voucher because all up in the air (no pun intended). Voucher expired, had to pay more for an alternative connecting flights and as late changes (not my error) I had to pay for seats I had already booked! Since then, Booking.com have sent me round and round departments. No-one taking ownership of the mess and extra expense caused to me, through no fault of mine. You cannot get hold of anyone, or correct department. Get sent the same generic emails. On hold on the phone for ages, only to be told I need to speak to flights. Flights say I need to speak to accommodation re' a new £20 voucher. I then go round and round, department to department to no avail.
Decided they can stuff the voucher. I book hotels and flights elsewhere now as no confidence in them as they cannot resolve a simple matter such as a voucher, or indeed let you know if your connecting flights have changed. I dare not tell my teenager what the drama was because they were anxious about the flights as it was, let alone fear there may not be a connecting flight! I worried for months. Until they were back as feared all would go wrong. She could have been stuck in China over Christmas because the connecting flight times did not match up. I was told she has been given alternative connecting flights. But they were not fit for purpose. They meant she would have to take off, before she even landed at the connecting airport??!! You cannot track your flight itinerary booking either because they state they do not update the booking on your Booking.com account if there are any changes. Leaves you feeling uncertain as to what is going to happen.
Will you land and your flight has gone. Will you land and there is no flight? Just checked again and my flight was booked Sept 2023, flight was in Dec 2023, and the flights home itinerary was updated in Jan 2024 (probably after my complaint) But flights there are still the same but they are not the flights we ended up being on. Are Booking.com audited at all as this would not match up. The update is of no good to me now and only half complete! Booking.com used Air China. They were VERY poor. Would never use Air China again either. Would rather pay more (another review due about them too).
Avoid Booking.com because you are on your own once paid. And if anything goes wrong, and you are "lucky" enough to be notified, then don't expect the matter to be resolved. Ignored or fobbed off and sent round department getting the same generic message that is not tailored to the issue you may have. Terrible customer service. Use another provider.

Use Booking.com at your own risk... In February 2024, I tried to book a last minute flight on Frontier - through booking.com. I had no choice but to use Frontier as it was a last minute emergency and we had to get to the location on time. Anyway, I completed all the online information, provided my credit card info and initiated the sale on Booking.com - The system showed a hourglass, then I received a message saying the transaction did not go through, and I needed to reprocess the transaction. So I backed out and put everything back in again, only to receive the same message. Both my wife and I saw the message. Frustrated, I decided to leave booking.com and go straight to Frontier, where I booked the tickets with no problem. Minutes later, I received an email from booking saying my tickets were confirmed on the 1st transaction, then I received a second email for the second transaction.
When I called Booking.com to complain, I was told the transactions were within 24 hours of my flight and that I needed to cancel with Frontier. I called Frontier and they said I needed to dispute it with Booking, but they did give me a credit for 2 tickets. What a nightmare. Booking only agreed to credit me for one ticket. Remember I did nothing wrong. But I am out more than $600 and now I have to Fly Frontier again to use the credit. I hate Frontier, the only reason I used them is because I had no other option. To make matters worse, Booking has the worse customer service people imaginable. They blamed me for the issue, even though no one would book 4 tickets for the same person on the same flight - unless there was a problem. Never use Booking.com again...

Shortly afterwards I discovered that we could not get from Maui to Honolulu, therefore we could not use the room. I attempted to cancel the room (over $700 charge for one night mind you). Booking.com should be legally reviewed. They change prices on you at the last minute and without notice. The online rate was 101.00 and when we tried to show her, she was not interested in facing us as she was very busy with something more pressing on the computer. Imagine our surprise when just seconds later the price online became 116.00. Of course I’m not saying that this woman was making changes as we were standing there but I managed a Gold Standard Choice Hotel and fired my night audit person for boasting of this same behavior.
You may ask yourself why we booked it on Booking.com and stayed anyway…..We were pulling a camper in a very bad storm with extremely high winds and were afraid to go one more mile in search of a hotel. I mentioned it to her and she told me that the whole hotel was non smoking, in which case I replied, our room smells of smoke. She made no attempt to offer us a different room.
Our room aside from smoke smell had extremely wrinkled sheets. They looked as though they had set in the dry. I will attach photos… I’m so very sad to see Choice Hotels represented this way. I prepaid for the defunct accommodation and still waiting for the full refund, as promised by Booking.com. Plus, instead of actually finding me a new accommodation, they sent me links to other hotels, some of which were already booked.
Eventually, I found another room $200 more expensive, with a promise of a refund for the difference, which I never received. Not to mention that each time I called customer service it took over an hour, of my time, and none of the reps were on the same page re: how to proceed when a property is unable to accommodate the customer. I am utterly disgusted by the unpleasant service I received from Booking.com. My recent attempt to book a hotel through Booking.com platform turned into a nightmare, leaving me and my baby in a state of distress and frustration. Firstly, despite receiving a confirmation number, the hotel never received any booking confirmation from Booking.com. This led to a frantic back-and-forth with the hotel staff, who were unable to find any trace of my reservation. It's beyond belief that a company like Booking.com could fail so miserably in such a basic aspect of their service.
Secondly, when I reached out to your customer care for assistance, I was met with nothing but incompetence and indifference. Rainer M, the so-called "customer representative," only added to my ordeal by providing me with a new booking number that was utterly useless. Despite explaining the situation to him multiple times, he persisted in insisting that the new number would work, disregarding the fact that the hotel had no record of it whatsoever.
To make matters worse, after enduring a long and exhausting flight with my baby, this debacle with Booking.com was the last thing I needed. My poor child was already cranky from the journey, and Booking.com's complete incompetence only served to exacerbate the situation. The lack of empathy and accountability displayed by Booking.com is utterly disgraceful.
In light of this horrendous experience, I feel compelled to warn others against using Booking.com for their travel needs. In fact, I found that Expedia offers a far superior alternative. Not only was booking through Expedia a seamless experience, but it was also significantly cheaper than Booking.com. From now on, I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I strongly advise others to do the same. Save yourself some money and time and look for other alternatives, there are many better alternatives.

I called customer service and was told "don't worry, we have your back. We will send you a message in 30 minutes with a room." No message was ever received. The desk person at the intended hotel was kind enough to get on the phone and find us a room. We were told the new hotel was just "a few blocks away" so chose to walk. Booking.com is very clear that after a certain date, you will be charged for the reservation and no refunds will be granted. I thought our experience warranted an exception. My wife and I checked into our hotel. We were given a key to our room which turns out was still occupied. Still not sure how that mistake was made. I opened the door, poked my head in and saw luggage and groceries. Luckily the guests were out and I didn't get shot in the face. This is Texas. That is not hyperbole. We went back and got another key to the room next door. This is a budget property and I expected some rough edges. But we only had one towel, one glass, the wall mounted A/C unit didn't work. In fact, the front of the unit was falling off. The window in the room opened to the outside walkway but wouldn't lock. Open, it was big enough for an adult to step through. That was it.
My wife didn't feel safe and I was uneasy as well. I will be 70 this year and she is in her late 50's. We have to feel safe in our accommodations. We checked out and found another hotel. Poor amenities I can overlook. But safety issues I can't overlook. The reviews of the property did not come close to matching what we experienced. Booking.com is standing firm on the no refund policy. I can't force them to budge but if anyone asks me, I would recommend a different/any other hotel booking website.

Now they will not respond to us – promised return phone calls and emails are not received. So many lies from customer service and the property owner of the original reservation.
It is impossible to get through to someone who can actually help us. We are trying to resolve this through an attorney now. This situation made our long distance trip for my daughter’s wedding extremely stressful and they are trying to add thousands of dollars to the cost of our accommodations that we had not planned for.**USE BOOKING.COM AT YOUR OWN RISK – THEY DO NOT HONOR WHAT IS ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE OR WHAT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS SAY.**

I booked a hotel Fairfield Inn in Atlanta Ga. It was a last-minute thing where I needed to be at the capitol. The pictures looked nice. When we arrived late that evening about 8:30. It was dark outside the hotel. The hotel is not in the best neighborhood and there were several groups of unsavory looking characters around the entrance. There is hardly any room to pull up and check in so when I parked immediately an employee came out and started barking at me about was, I valet parking which was $50.00, or self-parking? I asked him where self-parking was, and he pointed to a parking garage about a block and a half away. I said "No way" then I said where valet parking is, he pointed to the same parking garage. I left my wife in the car and went inside. There was one guy working. I did not have a good feeling about the service, the location and the characters outside much less the rude attendant. It boils down to I didn't feel safe for my wife and I. We left. I tried diligently to get a refund with Booking.com and ended up getting a $5.00 credit. I will NEVER use Booking.com again!!!

As per Booking.com: "In our terms and conditions you can see that if you pick up the car later or earlier than agreed, you are not entitled to a refund for unused time." This means that if you get the car the last day, it is OK and you have to pay for the whole contract anyway. Would not rent with them anymore.

I believe that this site is an offshore scam. I booked a condominium outside of Puerto Rico six months in advance. I received an email reading that my credit card had been declined on the day that the cancelation window would close. It had been declined due the possibility of fraud from my credit card carrier. Within two hours of receiving the email, my carrier removed the block.
I then contacted Booking.com to inform them that they could process the payment. They informed me that the reservation had been canceled and that I would be assessed the full payment of the property unless I agreed to a 20% penalty. I contacted the owner of the property and he assured me that all he required was that I unblocked the transaction, which I had already done. He asked me to contact Booking.com again to confirm that all was good. Despite this new information that I was given and forwarded to a representative, from a clearly offshore representative, I was threatened with legal action if I didn't agree to their shakedown.
I was told that if I didn't agree that they would charge me in full and turn any dispute to the charges over to their "superior legal team", Understanding of course Ithat it was never my intention to cancel my reservation they insisted on the 20% fee. If you press the representatives for information as to who this fee will be forwarded to, they did not clarify and instead I was given the choice of canceling my reservation at the full cost of paying the assessed fee. The owner of the property was bewildered once I contacted him and that I was left without a choice. In essence, the customer representatives are not available for disputes but to simply shake you down for more money and threaten you with legal action if you should dispute any charges with your credit card company. Please, stay away from this company unless you're prepared to start your vacation on a sour note.

We used Booking.com to book a reservation at a hotel about 6 days prior to trip. We read reviews of neighboring hotels and considered costs before making a selection. Our stay was debited from our checking account 5 days before the check-in date. Email confirmation was received detailing reservations for a room with 2 queen beds. After a long day of travel and enjoying a nearby theme park, we arrived at the hotel at 11:00 exhausted. We were told that our room had been given to someone else since we did not check in before 9:00. The hotel was unable to accommodate us. They commented that we would not be charged for OUR cancelation. They refused to assist us in arranging other accommodations.
We went to a neighboring hotel (one that we had declined due to reviews prior) but they had a room and was $20 more than the original hotel. The following morning I contacted booking.com to explain that the hotel refused to accommodate the reservations and asking for my money back. I was placed on hold several times as they tried to contact the hotel and work through the request. After nearly an hour, I was told that I would have to wait up to 14 days to receive my money back. It is outrageous that a corporate company that is referenced as making billions of dollars must take this long to refund $126.66 that was debited 5 days prior to service. This amount of money means more to a family than a company that is grossing billion. I also contacted the hotel corporate customer service, they were unable to assist since it dealt with a third party. Although the hotel staff, blatantly double booked the rooms and put a family with children out of a place to stay.

On the 27th of March, we embarked on a trip to Vietnam, having booked an apartment through Booking.com for a two-day stay in Ho Chi Min. After an exhausting 8-hour flight, upon reaching the doorstep of the reserved apartment, we were met by security who instructed us to wait until the owner arrived. The scorching heat, registering at 37 degrees Celsius, coupled with the fatigue from the journey, made the situation unbearable, especially for my two children, who were on the verge of dehydration after a 45-minute cab ride.
Unexpectedly, a person approached us and informed us that we couldn't stay in the booked apartment. Instead, he directed us to another building, insisting we relocate to a different apartment for the first night and then to another one further north for the second night. This individual, whom we hadn't booked with, escorted us to Millennium Apartments, despite our initial reservation at Rivergate Residence.
To add to the confusion, this person requested our passports for a photo, signaling to us that this might be a common practice for them. It became evident that this was not an isolated incident, as he casually mentioned that if we had any complaints, we should take them up with Booking.com's customer service. Frustrated and bewildered, we reached out to Booking.com numerous times via calls and messages during this ordeal.
Despite our efforts, the result was disheartening—the owner abruptly canceled our reservation, yet we were charged the full amount for the accommodation. It became apparent that Booking.com was operating in favor of the property owner rather than safeguarding our interests. We possess evidence of our communications with Booking.com, revealing their complicity in covering for the property owner's mismanagement rather than advocating for us, the customers.Fund was refunded and after few weeks Booking.com sent us the apology note saying we should have contact them during the stay. Which we did and they advised to the owner at that time to cancel the booking to cover their **.

My wife and I were driving across the country when we decided, around noon, where we would end our driving for the day and book a hotel ahead of time. We decided to book a hotel In Truth or Consequences New Mexico which is basically in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere. I used Booking.com to book a room and when we arrived at the hotel, after 12 hours of driving for the day, they didn’t have my reservation. The woman at the counter searched for more than ½ hour trying to see what had happened to my reservation. A reservation that I had three emails from booking.com confirming. She even called her supervisor at home, who logged into the various computers she had to see what had happened. Apparently booking.com had never sent my reservation to the hotel.
The hotel and the 3 other hotels in town were filled that night so we were left in the middle of nowhere with no hotel. Booking.com customer service was of no use either as they said they would try to get us a room, but knowing that all the hotels were filled, that was futile. I requested compensation from them, but they don’t provide any compensation for your troubles that are their responsibility. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AT ALL.

Then, when I arrived at the accommodations for check-in no one was there. I waited an hour until someone showed up and when they did they informed me that they had been without electricity for two days and could not accommodate me for my stay... after I got a "we're looking forward to check you in" email 4 hours prior. They assured me they would work with Booking.com to get me alternative accommodations.
So I waited... and waited... and waited... 2 hours later nothing. I called them they asked me to "please have patience". 4 hours later they said "oh no one has found you anything." So I started calling around to find my own accommodations and to get someone from booking.com directly. I have NEVER dealt with a company that is so ridiculous! We booked a Hotel in Daytona Florida for Spring break and it said they had 2 pools, hot tub and workout room. We received an email confirmation an hour later stating NONE of the amenities are available. After trying to call Booking.com for hours finally got through and was told they never had those amenities listed and we didn’t know what we were talking about and should have read carefully. I know it stated that and so did my fiancé. It was literally within the hour of booking it. Called back the next day to speak to manager to cancel and had to wait over an hour for a manager then the representative came back on and said we could only get 1/2 the money back if we cancel while waiting the manager called from another phone and got hung up on.
The customer service representatives were very rude and disrespectful and I can’t believe they can actually talk to paying customers the way they did. I would not recommend going through them. It’s not worth the stress they put you through to cancel and to not give you a full refund for false statings. I hope no one else gets screwed like we did!!!

Beware! Booking.com hijacked the hotel website. I made reservations through what I thought was the hotel website (Chalet Inn, Gatlinburg, TN). I reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights at $79 a night. Transaction totalled $553.74, which is over $200 more than it should have been. I called the hotel and they said they couldn't do anything because the reservations were made through Booking.com...Which I did not do. Nowhere on that site did it mention Booking.com. Anyway, I made several attempts to contact Booking.com, but trying to find a valid number for them proved near impossible. So, I contacted my bank to stop payment and they couldn't do anything, as the charge was pending-but at least they gave me a valid number for Booking.com.
I called them and was initially told it would cost $178 per room to cancel the reservation, which is more than the rooms should have cost in the first place. After arguing with them for approximately an hour, they finally agreed to refund $138...Which was still more than it should have been, but at least "close", so I accepted that - grudgingly. Bottom line, booking.com uses shady, sneaky tactics to trick people into reservations and charge hundreds more than what is advertised. I had no idea I was booking through Booking.com...nowhere on the site did it mention them or any additional charges. Further, they make it near impossible to contact them and/or get any reasonable resolution. I feel I was ripped off by booking.com, and they will continue to scam unsuspecting consumers if they are not held accountable for their actions.

We can't wait to see you." We get at the hotel at 6 pm, let know the front desk staff that we have a reservation, she looks in the computer and says that they don't have rooms.
Tried to explain to her several times that we booked, we got a confirmation number etc., but she keeps saying over and over that she does see it in the computer but they don't have rooms. It is the most stupid thing I've ever experienced regarding booking a room in a hotel. *** Do Not Ever Buy Any Plane Tickets from Booking.com. *** Booking.com went downhill after the company is bought out by Gotogate.com, a travel company based in India. I bought a flexible plane ticket that allows me to change the date of my flight. With this flexible ticket, we cannot make changes from the website, so these are the days of my ordeal: Day 1. Two weeks before departure, I called the number provided to make the change. An agent said he cannot change it so a specialist will call me or email me in 24 hr to help me make changes.
Day 2: The next day, no calls no emails so I called the number again many times throughout the day, same answer, someone should call me back, this time they said it could takes 3-4 days. The next day, still not calls no email so I called again throughout the day asking for status. By the end of the day, I got an email with a blanket message, saying, "Unfortunately we cannot change your plane ticket, now the case is closed." Go figure, they're paying someone to just reply with blanket messages, not even checking I have flexible ticket.
Day 3: I called Booking.com, goes directly to Gotogate.com customer service. I told him what happened, he said, "Oh don't worry we will open a new ticket for you." Ok, so a few hours later, I got an email (not a call), saying oh in order to discuss my request, I have to make a phone call. What another moron blanket answer. If I cannot talk to the specialist and they will not call me, then I guess they're just doing this to p!ss customer and hope that we will give up and lose our ticket. So I called customer service again, this time she said, "Oh it looks like they called you but your phone didn't work." I didn't even got a miss call, how come my phone doesn't work? So she's asking me for another phone number. I mean, how convenience it is to make excuses after excuses for them to close the case. A typical reaction from workers from India who are paid 5 cents/hr, overworked and expected to close the case as many as possible. I am telling you, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BOOKING.COM or you will be scammed..!

I booked a flight through booking.com and they were for specific dates because it was important for me to be back on those dates, that I made sure I checked the dates throughout. Just to realized in the end that booking.com booked a month out. I had added the option to be able to make changes to my flight so I requested them to do that, they checked and offered me about 4 times more for flight difference excluding how much I already paid them. Then I choose to cancel the flight and they told me I could not cancel whereas one of them had told me they could cancel and refund just airport charges. Now another is telling me to not call them again in such rudeness.

Our friends booked a two-room apartment in Zermatt, Switzerland through Booking.com. After traveling more than a day, we arrived and found we had no place to sleep that night. The Booking.com agent suggested booking a different place for half of us in Italy on the other side of the mountain. Ultimately we had to book separate hotels in Zermatt on our own as Booking.com was unable to help relocate all of us.
Moreover, when talking with the agent, it seems 20-30 others had also been scammed by this property yet Booking.com had still not taken down the listing. Booking.com's guarantee stated they would cover the difference in cost between the scam booking and what we paid other hotels but that has yet to be honored. We got lucky and, with the help of some locals, managed to find accommodations on our own dime. All the locals seemed well aware that scams are rampant on Booking.com. Do not trust Booking.com. When I called him again at 9.45am, he again told me he’d be there in 10-15 minutes. The driver eventually arrived at 10.20am for the 10am airport ride. Instead of apologizing for lying about his arrival time twice, and for being 20 minutes late, the driver told me that I did not answer his messages! I terminated the conversation. I am ending that waste of my time now because obviously, the customer service deserved your companies can't provide so I will be taking my business elsewhere!
After all of the lack of accountability between the two sister companies for the double charge, I should get a FULL REFUND no questions asked that might've made up for the hassles I've had to endure these two months but obviously, your companies don't want to step for your mistakes and want to take money that ISN'T rightfully yours.

If I could only give them stars in negative. Don't ever book from this website. No refunds, abrupt cancellations and 4th party customer service. It's a big scam. Never purchase from here. They say the flight ticket is non refundable but the airlines has already issued a refund to the company. How is that possible? If you are desperate to book from this website, I would suggest don't do it. It's better not to go with this company than paying extra and booking through Expedia. I would never recommend anyone to go through them. there is a reason why this company has 1.1 star here. If you still feel that those are not genuine reviews, see for yourself.

This lack of communication not only disrupted our family's Christmas plans and caused disappointment and inconvenience but also resulted in financial losses, as we had purchased non-refundable show tickets and made hotel reservations. Since then, we have reached out to them many many times but they didn't refund the money they got from us in November! The customer service is horrible.

DO NOT book packages through Booking.com, they are not even processed through them but with Priceline. Contacted them about a package I purchased and they had no clue, I had to figure it out myself and realize they use Priceline.

I book with Booking.com. I left a day early. They charge me a fee for canceling a day early but I spoke to someone from booking.com and he said I was supposed to be getting 124 dollars back, well it been a month. I called back. No one knows what I’m talking about, it really sad how these companies can just take your money like that. I will not be using booking.com ever again. It’s my right to cancel a day early if I want to and if you took my money off my card you supposed to give me my money back for a day I didn’t stay… Sad.

The flight I booked through Booking.com was oddly not the flight that was confirmed. Luckily, I purchased the flexible ticket option (coincidence that I would have to change it right away due to a mistake??) Well, I have been trying for over one month to change my flight time for trip that is now just a week away. I am supposed to have up to 24 hours of the flight to do so.
Booking.com has had odd excuses each time and has never honored the request:
1. Tried to charge me a few when the new flight actually costed LESS. When I asked why, they hung up on me.
2. The second attempt (an immediate call back) I was told the system wasn't working and to call again.
3. A couple weeks later I tried again and was told that they could not access my ticket because Frontier Airlines had "taken control" of it and that I needed to contact Frontier. When I did, they told me that was not even a real thing and that Booking.com has access. If I made the change with Frontier it would cost me tons of fees.
4. I tried Booking.com again. They said the system wasn't working again. They suggested I call Frontier. I said no and explained what happened the last time. They told me if I paid the fees, they would reimburse me! I said that I did not trust them and would not do that.
I told them that if a customer could book a new flight right now on Frontier, then the system was working. I asked for two resolutions options. Either they could book me the flight I wanted and cancel the other (since booking flights was not an issue) OR just refund me the fees I paid per ticket for the flexible ticket option since they were not honoring it.
They said that they would talk to the appropriate people and get back with via email or phone within 48 hours (I told them I have to know as soon as possible because I need to rent a car based on my arrival time). It has now been over 3 days since that conversation with no response. I filed a complaint, but fear it will lead to nowhere...

BEWARE - Purchasing air tickets from Booking.com is VERY RISKY, especially for international travel. Good luck getting a refund, even if it is for legitimate reasons and the airline has already issued a refund to Booking.com. Unlike some travel platforms (e.g. Kayak), Booking.com doesn't inform the user that the ticket is purchased from a third-party travel agency called GoToGate.com (GTG). This becomes a problem if the itinerary needs to be changed. In our case, the airline canceled one segment of a multi-stop itinerary. To modify your reservation, the airline requires you to work with the company that booked your flights. This is where Booking.com fails and disappears.
Booking.com's flight reservation support takes you to GTG. This may be OK for simple reservations. But for international travel, GTG has very limited flexibility to rebook flights because they purchased the seats from the airline at a very steep discount. The same fares may not be available to them on other flights. If it is not a simple fix, their solution is to cancel the reservation for a full refund (if the reason is valid) and rebook. This becomes very problematic for several reasons.
Problems: Getting a refund: Even if the airline issues a refund to GTG, GTG will not refund your money to you automatically. Even if GTG sends you an email indicating a refund is due to you, you have to chase the money for months and still not get the refund! In the end, we had to report the problem to our credit card company. There is a disconnect when it comes to refunds. Booking.com is the merchant on record who accepted your credit card payment and not GTG. So, the credit card company has to first work with Booking.com, which has to work with GTG to address the situation. Once a credit card dispute process is started, Booking.com will milk the defined timelines of the dispute/chargeback process (usually 3 months). It took us over 9 months to eventually get the money back through our CC company.
Customer support: Their motto is to kill you with kindness. Very polite 1st level support representatives will repeatedly take the same information from you, but are powerless to resolve your problem. When you escalate, they give you a 24-hour window for a manager to get back to you. If and when a manager does respond, they make false promises and never deliver. You never speak with the same Manager, so there is no accountability.
I suggest booking flights directly through the airline (website or phone). If you want to easily compare fares, I suggest using other sites like Google Travel which will take you directly to the airline's website to book your flights. Even if you pay a bit more, you will have more control of the reservations and certainly of your money! For the record, we have booked hotels, cars, tours through Booking.com without any issues and hold a pretty high "Genius" level status with them. So, this is not a general bashing of the platform. This is a serious problem that they need to address. Hope this is helpful. Safe travels!

About a week ago today, I made reservations for 2 nights requesting I could check in early. I called the customer service they gave me the okay this particular hotel has early check-in. So I make the reservation on Wednesday afternoon for Thursday-Friday night. When I get to the hotel Thursday morning they told me they never received my reservation (despite showing proof of payment). And they don’t have an early check-in policy so I had to pay Wednesday night even tho I arrived at the hotel Thursday morning. So already I’ve paid for 3 nights, 2 through your app, 1 in person directly with front desk and I haven’t even received my room key.
Before I leave front desk the staff member tells me to call front desk in the morning to see if they received confirmation on my next 2 nights if not check-out is at 11am. I wake up the same morning about 1030am to confirm my next 2 nights that I’ve already paid for. The hotel staff never received my reservation and requested I leave the property immediately as it was past check-out.
I immediately call customer service and explain to multiple people my situation, in short “I paid for 3 nights 2 through the app and was allowed to stay for 8hrs.” After another eternity I was told I’ll be refunded and given a night at no cost at another hotel for the troubles. Told me it’ll be about a week to hear back with my refund and free night. It’s been a week and have yet to hear back or been refunded this app/customer service lack of confirming information left me homeless for the following 2nights. They took the rest of my money immediately, but delaying the refund in my desperate time of need. I’m outraged, cold and hungry

These people here are all scammers and customer service doesn’t care! They make you pay first and after they will email you with the specifics of the rental and if you don’t agree they will charge you the full booking even if the description is not what was told on the page for booking. It happened to me with Milosou Airbnb in Miami rental, she states (Bonny) that is a 4 mix bedroom (4 bunk beds) only a shared bathroom because is a 2 bedroom apartment and after booking I get an email that specified that each bed was rented separately in that same room.
I told Her about cancellation. I was not sleeping with 3 strangers. I needed the 4 beds and wanted to cancel and she just told me to get lost, told customer service and they just didn’t care about the situation. Explained to them about the scam of the listing and nothing was done. Worst experience ever booking for the first and last time with them! Stay away from Booking.com, I used other services and never had an issue ever. Is scam all over them check comments everywhere they should be closed and take down for good.

I booked one really scary place in Hostivice near Prague, Czech Republic. It had 8.4 reviews on Booking.com so I assumed it is all good! I guess I was wrong. I called Booking.com customer service, shared my concern with both representative and booking.com supervisor, even supervisor ignored my concerns and made me stay at this place - refused to help me find different place after me expressing safety concerns! I arrived at hotel at 730pm, pitch dark, can't see anything and no cell service to call anyone. Gate to the property closed, locked, no lights around. Place itself is so isolated from anything around that I felt if I sleep in there overnight, I won't wake up alive. It looked like abandoned warehouse, not hotel!
I went to restaurant that was 25min away, to catch wifi and call booking.com customer service, after an hour and a half on the phone (now it is 910pm), booking.com supervisor from Philippines says property just texted you PIN code to enter properly and you are good to go. I was like, really! Property listed check-in time 2pm-9pm, they texted me 10min prior closing to drive 25min and God knows what to find and how to get in my room since staff will leave by then and booking.com still want me to stay there?!? Even though I expressed how unsafe I felt going back there with my family?!? This is the worst experience I had in my life. I tried posting review on their website, customer service rejected my review - no wonder why this property have high reviews. Booking.com made US Citizen and US Army Soldier stay at this shady place, with no cell service at foreign country on freezing temperatures outside.

I called to cancel my reservation 2 weeks before our first flight. 2 days before our departure I got emails from the airline to confirm the flight. Then a week later I got emails to confirm our return flight? When I called a 3rd time to ask to cancel the reservation, the guy said he couldn't help me, and I needed to call the airline myself??? Why would I use a company to book a flight, only to have to call the airline myself? And why after 3 attempts to cancel my reservation wasn't it canceled?? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! NEVER AGAIN.

The customer service personnel could not find me a car. The third time I asked to have my money reimbursed and he said to go through customer service. I was stuck in the airport without a vehicle for hours. They still haven't reimbursed me my money. So I paid for a car that wasn't even available!! Horrible company.

Booking.com is the worse experience I had. I had scheduled a flight for my family (4). Last minute they said flight was canceled. So I ask for the refund. That was 2 years ago. I'm still waiting for that money. They blame Avianca for no refund. I made the transaction with Booking.com. They should be responsible for it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, wait all this time, called so many times. I just think I lost almost 2000 dollars. It's no fear they do that to customers.
