** Will never buy from Booking.com. ** This review highlights a glitch at Booking.com process. I cancelled my booking due to my father in law suddenly passed away. I cancelled the booking, and I got the confirmation that it was cancelled. But as I didn’t get the refund for few months, I talked to the property about the cancellation and refund and they mentioned that they never received a cancellation request, I shared their email here. Booking.com automated email said the booking was cancelled, seems like some issue with Booking.com application/ communication that the cancellation request was not sent to the property. Despite it was Booking.com mistake, they didn’t provide the refund or any compensation.

You can’t get in the pool or can you get in the Jacuzzi so I’m gonna need a refund on my money because I don’t understand why you guys are advertising that the pool is up and working and why Holiday and it’s not advertising on their website that the pool isn’t working. Either you guys ruin people trips and ruin people's whole day and I will never ever, ever, ever book another room through you guys ever, ever again. I host properties on Booking.com and other channels. I started 6 months ago and although the api connections with my property management software were not the best, I was able to get everything set up and running. The largest percentage of my bookings have come from them. The problem is it is impossible to get good service. I had a guest that has an issue with billing and I have contacted 6 agents, and none were able to answer a simple question. I understand having a security call back before discussing the guest to be sure they are speaking with the host, but they don't call back. I've been trying for 2 hours to say, "can you refund the guest the cleaning fee?" It should not be this hard. And is terrible service for our guests.

Liars and Thieves! Avoid, avoid avoid!!! The single worst experience I have ever had in dealing with flight bookings and that is saying a lot. These clowns make Air Canada look good! Full disclosure, this all started when I made a mistake and put my wife's married last name on our ticket (the legal process of changing her name hadn't caught up and wouldn't be changed before our flight) and when we realized we started the process of making the change. Unfortunately we were too late, which is frustrating but at the end of the day it was my fault. This is where it gets bad, a booking.com customer service representative named Sidesh told me that I should cancel my current flight and rebook another.
Only issue was I couldn't afford to pay the grossly high cancellation fees and book another flight, but Sidesh told me that there had been a minor schedule change which waives the cancellation fee. After checking myself and having Sidesh confirm about 2-3 times that this was the case, I agreed to have my flight cancelled by him and I would book another flight. Flight booked (through Expedia this time) and all is right in the world.
The next day I get an e-mail saying that they would not waive the cancelation fee because the schedule change wasn't drastic.... After I was guaranteed it would be waived and bought another $1,500.00 worth of tickets... So I am pretty pissed off at this point as I was lied to and now am on the hook for two sets of tickets to the exact same place on the same day. So I call Booking.com to get an explanation and am told that there was nothing they could do and blah blah blah the usual runaround. I have escalated the complaint and will fight tooth and nail against these lying, thieving, greedy scumbags. DO NOT DEAL WITH BOOKING.COM!!

Earlier this year, I booked a room at a hotel in Turkey. Deciding to book was based on how beautiful it was, with gold accents throughout as well as the space of the room. When I arrived to the hotel at 2am I was told that room was not available anymore (after they’d charged my card) and that they had to bring me to another hotel. When I arrived the hotel looked like a large closet with a bathroom, not even half as nice as what I booked. At 3am now I had few options so I slept and left as soon as day broke. When I reported this to Booking.com they sent me through the wringer back and forth for a while saying they’d contact the hotel but ultimately denied a refund saying the hotel said it was fine. Why would you prioritize what the hotel said over the paying customer. I will never book with them again and urge you not to either! If anything goes wrong, they won’t protect you.

The booking.com staff is very unprofessional and refused to refund my $250.00, I provided documentation showing that I had to book directly through the hotel only to still have booking.com refused to refund me. Vacation. NEVER book anything on Booking.com and never book a room in HA Hotel Lake Bracciano Italy. My wife and I traveled all over Italy for 6 weeks and have nothing but good things to say, except for this hotel. We were on the road and attempting to make a reservation through booking.com for this hotel. While driving, I filled in a reservation form, but made a typing mistake and my first attempt was declined because I entered an incorrect zip code number for myself. I corrected it and we received confirmation for 1 room. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager told us we BOOKED 2 ROOMS. It was my wife and I and we only needed 1 room. Why would we book 2 rooms? He said booking.com made 2 reservations and we needed to discuss with them but he was charging us for 2 rooms.
Needless to say we objected, began a discussion with booking.com, and almost 3 months later we still have not gotten credit from either booking.com or HA hotel. A giant company like booking.com, and a hotel of this level, cheating people out of $200 is an absolute disgrace. To this day we are still fighting the most corrupt and incompetent customer service at booking.com, and continue to get a run around between the 2 companies. BEWARE OF BOTH.

I used Booking.com to make a reservation at Hampton Inn for New Year's visit to Visalia. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel but had great difficulty doing so. First, after contacting Booking.com said they would contact Hampton to cancel (later found out that they did not). In addition, since I contacted Booking.com after the cancel with no charge period, they said they would contact Hampton Inn and ask for exemption of cancellation fee (later found out they didn't). When I called Hampton Inn they said they were never contacted by Booking.com for the above two incidences and that my reservation was still active, so I cancelled them. In talking to Hampton Inn, it turned out that their rates made directly with them were not only cheaper and their cancellation policy was much better than Booking.com. After I spent my emotional energy on reacting to their unforgiving policy, they agreed to make an exception but the pain didn’t end there. They cancelled the reservation but it was stuck in some fourth party and the hotel still showed an active reservation and planned to charge me for it. Try to avoid booking air tickets with Booking.com, they don't even obey US laws related to refunds. They partner with the worst customer support company Gotogate. I contacted within an 1 hour after booking a ticket with request to cancel/change once I realized I made a mistake.
The customer support rep instead of cancelling pushed it to flight confirmation and suggested me to follow with the flight company. After I told him flight company referred back to bookign agency, he said: somebody will contact you within 1-2 hours. Nobody did contact me, after next day complaint and request to follow up, gotogate, finally contacted me stating they are willing to refund taxes on the ticket but it will take 1-2 months. After waiting on hold for almost 20 minutes I was informed the hotel did have my reservation canceled and would not honor the confirmation with Booking.com.
As I was on the phone with the representative I was able to see the hotel had available rooms and that I could book directly with them. I asked her to cancel out the Booking.com reservation since it was not active with the hotel and so I would not be charged a cancellation fee. Booking only offered a $100 refund that the hotel had offered them, they also skimmed a portion off of the top so the refund was under $94 when the cost of the night was around $235. We went on trip with the correct date anyway and paid the hotel directly. The reservation desk said this happens all the time and they would fix it for us. The hotel manager told us that all we had to do was confirm a cancellation via email that would be sent to us. But no email from Booking.com ever came. I spent over an hour on the phone with booking.com only to be told that the email that I gave them was not my email, then that my phone number was not my real phone number. I was asked multiple times for a “bin” number which I told them was not on the confirmation email that they to me at the email that they said “wasn’t mine”. I told them I had a pin number. No they wanted a bin number. I finally gave her the pin number and that was in fact the number she needed. After all of this she said she couldn’t cancel the reservation and I would be charged for a room that will not even using then hung up on me.

I call them to request for a refund of that day and was told by the representative that spoke to her manager and he said he couldn't refund me back for this day that I was charge for when I couldn't possibly be there. I will no longer use their services which I believe is bad business practices and so that is the reason for this review being what it is and so I would Not recommend to anyone ever unless you want to pay them for services you did Not utilize. Now when I ask cathay pacific they blame Booking.com and booking.com blames cathay pacifc, for not mentioning this upfront. When I go to purchase an extra bag, they want to charge me $500 which is almost 1/3rd the cost of the ticket (while it should have been included in the ticket when they are charging $1700).

I don’t know what purpose Booking.com serves other than making it easy to book a room. I just making a couple trips, but it certainly wasn’t worth it because the first problem that arose they made it really hard to do it. Even talk to them about it and when it was finally after several days of being on hold and having to keep repeatedly calling back because the phone line getting disconnected during Either when being on hold waiting to talk to them or even during a conversation with them, it just kept disconnecting and this happened every day so I quit. I really think they did that on purpose and then being misled with the information giving concerning my complaint, they would pacify me and make promises will not promises but told me, "Don’t worry about it. It’ll be a few days but you’ll get your refund," but they have way too extreme measures not to give me my $65 back if they will do what they’ve been doing for $65.
I mean it’s like having a job all the time I’ve had to spend on the phone trying to get what’s rightfully mine. They’re making me pay for a service they didn’t provide. I say use any other service but them or better yet. Make the booking yourself. Call the motel directly. Do your own research. These people are taking money and I don’t know what they do for you that you can’t do for yourself. I don’t think there’s anything of value that they do and in my case, have they not been involved I wouldn’t of paid for a room I was not allowed to check into! In the past, I felt like Booking.com was helpful, but that’s only because everything went smoothly. This is the first time I’ve had an issue with them with payment and now I see who they really are.

I have had the worst experience with Booking.com. I booked two nights hotel at the Chelsea in Toronto. My flights were cancelled out due to a snowstorm. I called to cancel and went online to cancel and submit a request to property for refund. When I called booking the next day I was told they couldn’t help me because it was a partner offer of theirs. I asked for their partner info so I may contact. They informed me they couldn’t share that info with me. I called the Chelsea hotel who had no record of my reservation. I phoned back booking who again said they could not help me. At this point due to the hotel being paid for, we would travel to Toronto for a weekend. Then Chelsea however told us they had no record of our reservation. So booking would not help, nor would they provide me with the contact information of their partner who the offer was through.
Keep in mind, I booked this hotel stay through my booking app and my personal profile that I have been using for the last 5 years. In the end, my money was taken, there was no record of my reservation so we could not stay at our hotel and booking would not assist me nor provide me with the contact information for their third party partner. I used Booking.com for my recent trip and several hours before I arrived at the hotel I used booking to add an additional night because I was a day early. I paid my additional $158 and when I got to the hotel they said I didn’t have a reservation at all. Tried reaching out to booking and there NO ONE to call, and every line kept asking for some damn booking number but the only thing they gave me was a confirmation number??? Only person I could get a hold of was a rental car guy who said he would transfer me and then the line cut off but before that happened he ALSO asked for a booking number and even told me where to find it and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there was never a booking number in any of the 5 emails they sent me or in the app and that I think it’s a ploy to get people off the phone cause you can’t get through to a real person without a booking number.
This was the worst customer service and biggest waste of money I had ever been through. Your 1 job was “ACCOMODATIONS” and you failed at that in every aspect. I spent over $300 for quite literally NOTHING! I’ll be leaving this review for everywhere and I hope people read it and just book through a hotel from now on.

I live in USA and I was traveling for business. While in Dubai using my Booking account I booked a car rental in Auckland NZ. I was quoted in the range of $350 for a five day rental. When I return to USA and I look at my credit card charges I have a car rental charge for $1008.08. Even though I used my USA based account and was quoted in USD for the car rental Booking charged me in AED the local United Arab Emirates currency. What is more frustrating is that I was charged about $650 more than what I was quoted. This leads me to believe that Booking will charge nearly three times more for the same rental a person booking form UAE compared to a person booking from USA.
When I opened the case the agent mentioned that the charges were because my computer's VPN identified me as a UAE resident. Why is Booking tracking where I am if I am logged in my account? Even if I was a UAE resident why should I be charged nearly three times more? Discriminatory strategy or taking advantage? Their customer service is no help and is nearly impossible to find a phone number on their website to call someone.

Appalling customer service. We tried to book a hotel, went through the whole process and hit pay. It tried to process and after over 10 minutes we exited as there seemed to be an obvious problem. We never received a confirmation email or booking number. We tried to call booking.com but, since we had no booking number we could not break through to talk with an actual person. Again, we tried to contact customer service but without a booking number we couldn't get anyone to respond.
The following day we checked our credit card statement and the charge showed as pending. More attempts to contact them and were finally given an email address to use if you don't have a reservation number. We sent an email and it took 9 days for anyone to email us!! The following day the credit card had been charged, yet we'd received nothing from booking.com to confirm if we had the hotel booked. We made numerous attempts to contact booking.com with no response. We finally contacted the hotel directly who confirmed fairly promptly that they had no booking under our name. More attempts to contact booking.com. A couple of days later, our credit card charge was reversed. So, we went ahead and rebooked the hotel with hotels.com with no issues. Never again will we use Booking.com. An actual person finally got back to us yesterday after 9 days of attempting to contact them. Just unbelievable.

I contacted them 2 minutes later to cancel because their website changed my search dates and they said I would be contacted in 24-48 hours! But the reservation was for the following day and I needed to cancel it asap because we would not even be there. I called and they told me they would have to contact the property. I also contacted the property and they reached out in ITALIAN AND 14 hours Later saying it was too late because it is the DAY OFF! Obviously it’s the day off, that’s why I contacted you immediately!
The property and booking.com both lagged in response time and basically said, "Sorry there’s nothing I can do for you coz all I want is your money and we care nothing about customer service." They did absolutely nothing to help. So to say you have 24/7 customer service is inaccurate because the whole thing could have been rectified if you had just done your part and cancelled it immediately and STOP CHANGING the SEARCH DATES!! We booked a 7-day vacation in Cancun at the Azul Beach Resort through Booking.com, specifically for our daughter’s 16th birthday Celebration. However, our booking was not honored, and we were instead "dumped" at a different Resort. After being shuffled from Resort to Resort, the Resort we finally got was not of our choice and was clearly a downgrade. When we told them that we would like a refund since we didn't approve of the resort they refused so it was almost a hostage situation we were dealing with in a foreign country which was very scary for us as a family.
We lost an entire day of our vacation dealing with the issue, left without a reservation in a foreign country, feeling anxious and unsafe. After hours of controversy and stress, we finally got a room at 9 PM. What makes this worse is that I had called the Azul Beach Resort before leaving to confirm our booking and make sure everything is ok, and no one mentioned any problems then. We could have solved our issues before we left Canada if only we were just informed in time, we had our booking for two months in advance so Booking.com should have sent us an email or something to inform us and give us options. This was supposed to be a special trip to celebrate a milestone birthday, but the entire experience was ruined we didn't even celebrate or enjoy our vacation due to the mismanagement and lack of communication. We just wanted to get back home.
Booking.com's customer are treated very poorly by the Resorts for whatever reason. Something to keep in mind when booking your Vacation, this was my first time booking with them. Never "NEVER AGAIN", their customer service is the worst specially after they have your booking, I would like to mention their customer reps are still better than the supervisors who can barely speak clearly let alone understand or resolve your issues. I traveled 9 hrs driving from Ohio with my family. The stay was a disaster from the moment we arrived. None of our rooms were ready, the door leading to the beach and boardwalk was broken, the whole hotel smelled like cigarettes and **. The cleaning staff was incompetent, as well as the front desk employees. The accommodations were disgusting, with broken beds and appliances, piss stained mattress, torn carpet, damaged dangerous floors, broken jets and exhaust fans in the bathrooms, one elevator that was broke down two of the five days we stayed.
There was sand and dirt under every piece of furniture, broken cable (no signal message on most channels), pool open 3 days a wk, sliding door to the balcony was broken, dirt all over the indoor a/c unit., broken springs in the worst skinny jaihouse mattress. I actually filed a complaint with the front desk about the issues and a manager has yet to reach out to me (over 2 mos. since my stay). So I reached out to Booking.com to reimburse me a large portion of my $1800, ($1291) to be exact. Since they took my money from my credit card, not the hotel.
They gave me $300 back and told me to kick rocks basically, even with detailed pictures showing every complaint's validity. This is a classless co., they are an overseas 3rd party business so they don't care about the customer or your experience at the venues THEY BOOK! Stay away at all costs!!! Due to an incorrect email address given at the time of purchase, booking.com refused to resend the confirmation email to the correct email address. Despite our efforts, the hotel has decided to enforce the current policy and is not allowing any refund.’”
HOWEVER, in response to my Google review on October 18, 2024, the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport responded with the following: “In accessing your reservation I do see that the 3rd party that you booked through did cancel your reservation and they were never charged by us. We sincerely apologize for any misinformation provided to you by the 3rd party booking agent that you booked through. We have not billed them and they should have refunded you in full. Please feel free to have that 3rd party booking agent reach out to our management team for any clarification because we show a fully authorized cancelation on our end on October 9th. Please contact us directly if we can be of assistance.”
SO, Southwest Hotels Concierge “appears” to have explicitly misrepresented their communication with the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport. My impression of Southwest Hotels Concierge is definitely unfavorable. With the exception of one email from cs_suppliers@rocketmiles.agoda.com, (signed Southwest Hotels Concierge) all emails were from concierge@southwesthotels.com (also signed Southwest Hotels Concierge). It appears there is some “invisible” entity between Southwest Hotels, booking.com and the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport. Perhaps more investigation is warranted?

Horrible place to book. The manager Osama is terrible. I had a horrible horrible horrible experience. They would accommodate me when I made a mistake. They kept my money and refused to change the date or do anything to help the situation. I was hung up on twice by them. Unprofessional. Poor customer service. Stay away!

DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM. Not only did they book me into a room with bed bugs. But they only gave me $20 back. This is totally unacceptable. Use any other site not booking.com. This company does not care about your health or your well being. Buyer beware!

I tried to make a booking yesterday thru Booking.com. It did not appear that I was successful and I did not receive a confirmation number or email. There is nothing in my booking.com account. Today my credit card has a charge from Partners in Booking BV. I contacted the accommodation and they have a reservation for me booked thru Agoda, which I have never knowingly used. Accommodation could not give me details re cancellation as it is up to booking agency. I booked it knowing I may have to cancel but now don’t know the date by or who to cancel with if I need to. Also no details if there are problems.
I cannot get any info from Booking or Agoda, or talk to a person without the confirmation number. Can’t reach anyone at Partners in booking unless I am a host. I’ve been going in circles all day with texts, emails and phone but can only get automatic AI responses that have not helped at all or acknowledged my dilemma. What a terrible experience and a complete lack of customer support. Please note, to verify this review it asks for my receipt which I can’t provide due to the lack of any email with confirmation number. Ridiculous!

Warning!!!! Beware. Do not use Booking.com. Did a reservation. Went to the hotel. They said they didn’t have a reservation. Tried to book again. They took money off my card for the second time and I still don’t have a hotel to stay in.

My experience with Booking com was fantastic. I had booked a place that was no longer available and the management tried to place us in an unsuitable alternative with 24 hours before the trip. I contacted booking com and they quickly acted on our behalf. They cancelled the original place and relocated us to an amazing apartment that was over double the price. A cost covered by booking com. Their communication was excellent. Later, I requested a date change for another place because of the torrential rain in Spain. The hotel did not respond to our request so booking.com got involved and within 5 minutes the date was changed. Cannot fault them.

Booking.com was not helpful when booking a hotel in Greece where they refused to give me the room paid! The hotel threatened to cancel my room and tell me to leave without a refund! While waiting for my correct room I was harassed and called names. They would not let me leave peacefully with a refund. Asked booking.com for help but they were not helpful. When my room was finally ready three hours later. The hotel all of sudden informed me that I canceled the hotel. This is impossible as I was not on my email nor had access. Booking also told hotel I cancelled when I did not and the harassment continued until I left the hotel early with no compensation. Don’t rely on booking.com for any help. Now they removed all communication from my customer service on my app. I have called back to talk to someone and they have hung up on me after being on hold for 20 to 30 minutes.

In the past, we used the site for hotel booking. This time, I needed to book a flight between Nepal and Bhutan and could not find it directly, so did it through "Booking.com". The local airline company changed the flight time, that did not work for us, so we had to cancel that flight. As per the condition from the airline and different emails, we just needed to request it through "booking'. When calling "booking' several times, we had different answers. Finally, they confirmed doing the full refund after contacting the airline. It has been 3 weeks. They are still "contacting but not getting the response from the airline". Nothing like this ever happened with any other company. Eventually, this is their responsibility to have good contacts with the companies they sell for. We ended up putting the charge on a dispute with the credit card.

I've had a disappointing experience with Booking.com and recommend exercising caution when using their services. Their misleading information led to unacceptable treatment at a hotel. Upon returning to the United States, I intend to pursue legal action. To all my U.S Veterans brothers do not use Booking.com.

Booked a hotel for 5 nights and they sent me a confirmation. When we got there the hotel didn't have us in the system or any form of payment from me. Tried to cancel reservation online then and the cancellation fee was my entire $440 stay, no refund. They said if I wanted my money back I need to go through hotel who obviously didn't have any of my information so where did that money actually go? It is truly a scam on Booking.com for 90% of the people I've talked to very disappointed in their customer service.
