I was charged a service fee of $100 on a room that was $139.00. When I called to complain, I was told that I would have to contact the hotel for the refund. I contacted the hotel, Marina Inn, San Leandro, California and they told me that I would have to contact Booking.com. What a runaround. The Refundable fee was never refunded! I never received the $100 credit I was due.

I booked a hotel on August 29th for a stay on 10/25 in Tampa. I received a confirmation email and follow-up emails about my trip. My friend who I was going to be traveling with try to call the hotel to see if we could drop our luggage off early since we were flying in early. There was no answer. We ended up looking on Marriott site and found that the hotel was not open for business. On October 24 I called Priceline in the morning and was told to call back because there was nothing she could do. I called back 3 times after that and spoke with multiple agents and escalation agents and was promised that I would get a hotel for Fri 10/25 and they were having a hard time reaching their partner. I was told to call back before my flight at 6 AM to speak to someone to get a hotel.
When I landed in Tampa, the issue was still not resolved, and I called back again. I spoke to an agent for a couple hours. and she told me there was nothing she could do because the reservation was canceled which I never asked for. After telling her that it was unacceptable and I needed a hotel room She called her partner company Booking.com and said that I could book a hotel and that they would refund me. She said I didn't have to go through Priceline or booking and to just send them the receipt of the hotel. I booked a hotel which ended up costing more than our original booking $466.17 because it was a day of reservation with my money again and I sent over the receipt.
On 10/28 I received a call from Priceline following up with my receipt. I told her I sent it over and was told I needed a receipt from the hotel stating we had a zero dollar balance. I called Marriott and they sent over a receipt and I forwarded that to the email provided to me. On 10/30 I followed up with Priceline and was told I needed to send it directly to booking.com so I emailed the provided email for that. I called back this morning on 11/4 after I received an email for a refund for the original hotel but not the new one. I was told I would get a call back with more information. I never received a call back. I reached out again and I finally was told I could speak to booking.com directly yesterday 11/18/24. Basically I was told my inconveniences didn't matter they only pay the difference which means I still paid for a hotel and spent all this time speaking to people for nothing. Never again will I book through booking or Priceline.

I asked a simple question. Could I use my AARP discount for a hotel rental through Booking.com. Not only would no one answer my question, but I was REPEATEDLY hung up on when I asked it. And that was after being on hold for extended periods of time. I will NEVER use Booking.com again, and the hotel that I booked through them advised me against using them as well!

Extremely dissatisfied with the outcome of my hour call. When Booking.com makes over $21 billion for monthly revenue you would think $70 for a long time customer who books frequently that had an awful experience would be acceptable. Hotel was infested with bedbugs and roaches and no reviews regarding this.

This past weekend My fiance and I booked a resort hotel with Booking.com We stayed at the Paradise Point Spa and Resort in San Diego CA. For one night it, cost $353.92. I booked what I thought was a really nice bungalow facing the bay. It was pet friendly and looked really relaxing. I got to the resort to check in and to my complete surprise they started adding hidden fees. my $353.92 room had an amenities fee for $46.00 and a parking fee of $46.00 + a pet friendly fee of $150.00 and a security deposit of $499.00. I couldn't cancel my room because booking.com had a no cancellation policy. So, I had to give them almost $1100 dollars to stay there for 1 night.
My room that they had available was not on the bay but i block over so if I walked through to bungalows, I could see the bay. Now for the room. The curtain wouldn't close all the way so no privacy. The porch light didn't work so it was pitch black outside. There was a dull hum coming from the celling that kept us up all night. We were so bummed and tired; we checked out at 8:30 am and went back home. I will never use booking.com again.

Used the Booking.com taxi service for a ~$425 prepaid taxi from Ravenna Italy to Venice after a cruise. Driver never showed despite assurances he was en route. They agreed to get a Uber driver and cover the cost. Then said there were no Uber drivers willing to make the 2+ hour trip. Left stranded and had to pay a taxi driver onsite for an extra ~$125. Got there over 2 hours after I was supposed to arrive. Booking.com said they’d eat the difference (they did refund the $425). I’m now 2 months later fighting them for the $125 they promised, and it’s just excuse after excuse. Totally unreliable and I’ll never use them again.

I booked a room for the first time through Booking this week. I have 3 workers who traveled out of state for a job and Booking.com seemed to have the best rates this time. Well the room I booked apparently doesn't even exist!! I booked them in a room with 2 queen beds and a bonus room with a tv and sofa, called a quadruple room with two queen beds. The hotel doesn't have any such room. So now I have 3 men and 2 beds meaning 1 guy is stuck sleeping on the floor for a week.
When I try to get ahold of Booking for answers I get the run around. I send my message through their support link only to be told that due to security reasons they can not discuss the status of my reservation and I can email or call them in New Amsterdam, accruing international calling rates. When I emailed them I received an email again stating for security reasons they can not discuss and I need to email or call! Apparently I'm just out the extra money I spent for a bonus room and 1 of my guys is left on the floor. First and last time I book with them!

I would be happy if I never used this software again -- I really can't believe how bad it is.

I used Booking.com for my recent trip and several hours before I arrived at the hotel I used booking to add an additional night because I was a day early. I paid my additional $158 and when I got to the hotel they said I didn’t have a reservation at all. Tried reaching out to booking and there NO ONE to call, and every line kept asking for some damn booking number but the only thing they gave me was a confirmation number??? Only person I could get a hold of was a rental car guy who said he would transfer me and then the line cut off but before that happened he ALSO asked for a booking number and even told me where to find it and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there was never a booking number in any of the 5 emails they sent me or in the app and that I think it’s a ploy to get people off the phone cause you can’t get through to a real person without a booking number.
This was the worst customer service and biggest waste of money I had ever been through. Your 1 job was “ACCOMODATIONS” and you failed at that in every aspect. I spent over $300 for quite literally NOTHING! I’ll be leaving this review for everywhere and I hope people read it and just book through a hotel from now on.

I live in USA and I was traveling for business. While in Dubai using my Booking account I booked a car rental in Auckland NZ. I was quoted in the range of $350 for a five day rental. When I return to USA and I look at my credit card charges I have a car rental charge for $1008.08. Even though I used my USA based account and was quoted in USD for the car rental Booking charged me in AED the local United Arab Emirates currency. What is more frustrating is that I was charged about $650 more than what I was quoted. This leads me to believe that Booking will charge nearly three times more for the same rental a person booking form UAE compared to a person booking from USA.
When I opened the case the agent mentioned that the charges were because my computer's VPN identified me as a UAE resident. Why is Booking tracking where I am if I am logged in my account? Even if I was a UAE resident why should I be charged nearly three times more? Discriminatory strategy or taking advantage? Their customer service is no help and is nearly impossible to find a phone number on their website to call someone.

Appalling customer service. We tried to book a hotel, went through the whole process and hit pay. It tried to process and after over 10 minutes we exited as there seemed to be an obvious problem. We never received a confirmation email or booking number. We tried to call booking.com but, since we had no booking number we could not break through to talk with an actual person. Again, we tried to contact customer service but without a booking number we couldn't get anyone to respond.
The following day we checked our credit card statement and the charge showed as pending. More attempts to contact them and were finally given an email address to use if you don't have a reservation number. We sent an email and it took 9 days for anyone to email us!! The following day the credit card had been charged, yet we'd received nothing from booking.com to confirm if we had the hotel booked. We made numerous attempts to contact booking.com with no response. We finally contacted the hotel directly who confirmed fairly promptly that they had no booking under our name. More attempts to contact booking.com. A couple of days later, our credit card charge was reversed. So, we went ahead and rebooked the hotel with hotels.com with no issues. Never again will we use Booking.com. An actual person finally got back to us yesterday after 9 days of attempting to contact them. Just unbelievable.

I had a saved search on Booking.com and for some reason booking.com changed my search to the day before and I did not notice until I made the reservation. I contacted them 2 minutes later to cancel because their website changed my search dates and they said I would be contacted in 24-48 hours! But the reservation was for the following day and I needed to cancel it asap because we would not even be there. I called and they told me they would have to contact the property. I also contacted the property and they reached out in ITALIAN AND 14 hours Later saying it was too late because it is the DAY OFF! Obviously it’s the day off, that’s why I contacted you immediately!
The property and booking.com both lagged in response time and basically said, "Sorry there’s nothing I can do for you coz all I want is your money and we care nothing about customer service." They did absolutely nothing to help. So to say you have 24/7 customer service is inaccurate because the whole thing could have been rectified if you had just done your part and cancelled it immediately and STOP CHANGING the SEARCH DATES!! Don’t use booking.com! All they want is your money even if they don’t provide you a service! Absolutely ridiculous!!

We booked a 7-day vacation in Cancun at the Azul Beach Resort through Booking.com, specifically for our daughter’s 16th birthday Celebration. However, our booking was not honored, and we were instead "dumped" at a different Resort. After being shuffled from Resort to Resort, the Resort we finally got was not of our choice and was clearly a downgrade. When we told them that we would like a refund since we didn't approve of the resort they refused so it was almost a hostage situation we were dealing with in a foreign country which was very scary for us as a family.
We lost an entire day of our vacation dealing with the issue, left without a reservation in a foreign country, feeling anxious and unsafe. After hours of controversy and stress, we finally got a room at 9 PM. What makes this worse is that I had called the Azul Beach Resort before leaving to confirm our booking and make sure everything is ok, and no one mentioned any problems then. We could have solved our issues before we left Canada if only we were just informed in time, we had our booking for two months in advance so Booking.com should have sent us an email or something to inform us and give us options. This was supposed to be a special trip to celebrate a milestone birthday, but the entire experience was ruined we didn't even celebrate or enjoy our vacation due to the mismanagement and lack of communication. We just wanted to get back home.
Booking.com's customer are treated very poorly by the Resorts for whatever reason. Something to keep in mind when booking your Vacation, this was my first time booking with them. Never "NEVER AGAIN", their customer service is the worst specially after they have your booking, I would like to mention their customer reps are still better than the supervisors who can barely speak clearly let alone understand or resolve your issues. We travel a lot and have not had such a bad experience with any other booking platforms we used in the past. Extremely disappointed with Booking.com and would not trust them for future travel plans. "REGRET" using Booking.com. It is a glorified "SCAM".

I booked 2 rooms at the "Four Sails Resort" hotel in VA. Beach. in early Sept of 2024 through "Booking.com". The rooms cost me almost $1800 together for 5 days. I traveled 9 hrs driving from Ohio with my family. The stay was a disaster from the moment we arrived. None of our rooms were ready, the door leading to the beach and boardwalk was broken, the whole hotel smelled like cigarettes and **. The cleaning staff was incompetent, as well as the front desk employees. The accommodations were disgusting, with broken beds and appliances, piss stained mattress, torn carpet, damaged dangerous floors, broken jets and exhaust fans in the bathrooms, one elevator that was broke down two of the five days we stayed.
There was sand and dirt under every piece of furniture, broken cable (no signal message on most channels), pool open 3 days a wk, sliding door to the balcony was broken, dirt all over the indoor a/c unit., broken springs in the worst skinny jaihouse mattress. I actually filed a complaint with the front desk about the issues and a manager has yet to reach out to me (over 2 mos. since my stay). So I reached out to Booking.com to reimburse me a large portion of my $1800, ($1291) to be exact. Since they took my money from my credit card, not the hotel.
They gave me $300 back and told me to kick rocks basically, even with detailed pictures showing every complaint's validity. This is a classless co., they are an overseas 3rd party business so they don't care about the customer or your experience at the venues THEY BOOK! Stay away at all costs!!! BOOKING.COM is a waste of money, and will not help you get any satisfaction for a horrible experience that they have a part in. TRASH!

My reservation was free cancellation and I was only supposed to be charged at arrival which is irrelevant since they could not accommodate the reservation. The hotel said I needed to contact booking to make sure I wasn’t charged. I went through Booking's cancellation procedure. I was later charged directly by the hotel. Booking had been no help in resolving this. They tell me to call the hotel, the hotel tells me to call booking. Spoke with booking again. They said they were waiting for the hotel to respond to their refund request (never should have been charged).
They asked me to 3-way call the hotel. Spent 45 min being passed around only for the 5th person to hang up on us. Booking said it would be resolved in 48 hours. It wasn’t. Called back a few days later and all they offer is to send another email. At this point they are complicit in the unauthorized and unethical charges on my card. Due to an incorrect email address given at the time of purchase, booking.com refused to resend the confirmation email to the correct email address. I communicated with booking.com for three (3) days, sending and replying to at least twelve (12) emails and gave booking.com all the information possible, short of my credit card number. Even with all of the information I gave them as a purchaser, booking.com refused to resend the confirmation email, citing "security reasons", which is ridiculous as I purchased the trip.
As a result of booking.com refusing to give me the information I needed to confirm the airport transfer and get the hotel credits for my relative, I canceled the trip and I will NEVER use booking.com for any travel purposes. Now I do need to point out, that the customer service representatives at Southwest Vacations, were very uber helpful and gave me all the trip information, assistance, and went beyond as much as they could for me, but booking.com was in control of the confirmation email. This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a booking website. I know not to use any more third-party when it comes to booking especially Booking.com because I have a family death that just occurred and they keep telling me that I am unable to cancel my reservation because of policy, but you know who puts a timeframe on death and the fact that they said that it is nonrefundable and that it would have had to been canceled three days ago, but the death just happened today is absurd so just so I do not lose out on my money that I work so hard for to give to anyone for free because I have children and bills to take care of. So the only two options that Booking.com customer service representatives gave me were either keep the booking and or cancel the booking at full charge. Meaning I would not be refunded a dime of my money just to cancel so I won’t ever use this Ponzi scheme of a business for booking again.
These are crooks within themselves one Bad apple spoils the Bunch. My best friend is in the Navy and all we do is travel amongst different hotels for her career and this by far will definitely be the talk of all talk because you never know who you are servicing and what services they are providing to you unknowingly but I do wish Booking.com the best of luck in future fraud, endeavors and people wake up and see the realization Of life being unpredictable for not just one, but all humans. Enclosing I would just like to say thank you so much for the horrible experience. My Navy friends and myself will not ever forget this but then again we will not be using any services that are even so much as linked to Booking.com

I'm very angry regarding this booking. When I made the referenced reservation through Booking.com, I received a communication stating my reservation was confirmed and my credit card account was charged. Subsequently, I received a text message from Summit Mountain Rentals stating that my reservation was not confirmed until I complete a rental agreement. The rental agreement included a picture of my driver license, a photo of myself & my credit card information. This is outrageous to request this IDENTITY information online. I don't know who these people. Who would be dumb enough to provide all their identity information along with their credit card information and RISK THEMSELVES TO IDENTITY THEFT.? Why didn't you ask me for this agreement prior to charging my credit card. This is no way you do business. If this is the way you conduct business, then close my account. I will await your reply????

In my case, I never activated my listing because I had seen mixed reviews. Booking.com automatically activated my property for rent without my knowledge or consent! Then out of the blue, I get an email that someone booked my property and would be showing up tomorrow!! I only use other more reputable sites like Airbnb on occasion and I live at my property!! Totally unacceptable!! I called Booking and cancelled the "reservation".
After 5 phone calls, 8 emails and explaining this FRAUD, they finally say their supervisor which I am not allowed to speak with says they cannot remove the fee charged to ME for cancelling a reservation!! UNREAL! STAY AWAY from this fraudulent company!!! They are now holding me to this ridiculous fee of $129 for my property which was fraudulently listed without my knowledge. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE!!

I had booked a hotel and never received the confirmation email for the booking. I ended up needing to cancel and because I did not have the pin that was only available on the confirmation email, I could not call in and cancel the trip. The AI they use requires the confirmation number and pin in order to talk with an agent. Even when trying to use the email/chat feature, if you don't have the PIN you can not actually get through to anyone. I tried calling every phone number provided and could never get through with a live person. The only way I could even get the confirmation number was to call the hotel I had booked through Booking.com. The hotel could not or would not cancel the reservation and now I am just losing money on a room I can't use because of a storm in the area. This is a completely unfair and bogus one way process. They are glad to take your money but do nothing to help when there is a problem. I will never use Booking.com again.

Booking.com overcharged me on every of my booking, claiming a 'fully refundable' policy within a certain period. I booked five accommodations for seven people next year (10 days) in Japan, but cancelled and switched due to better options. Believing changes were free, I found Booking.com didn't refund the full amount for my remaining booking. Customer service blamed it on the exchange rates and my bank, yet I've had no issues with Airbnb and Agoda in the same situation. It’s supposed to be refund the customer and then go after your money for yourself. I walked into a biohazard nightmare when I went to this hotel. Urine and hair in the bathroom, the sheets weren’t clean, etc. then went to get another room and that one had black mold and smelled of dog. It was disgusting.
Plus when we first checked in we saw a drug deal going on in the lobby of the hotel using the hotel's main phone line no less. No one is responding to me to refund me. I call and have to wait 20+ min on hold and every time I call I get told it’ll happen soon. Then I ask to speak to a higher up and they say hold and then I get hung up on and then I have to start all over again. If not resolved soon I’m taking legal action and I will be asking for more than my refund.

Southwest Hotels – Booking.com, the “Invisible” partner, and the Blame Game: Suggestion: NEVER, EVER, prepay for any service through Southwest Booking.com (“Southwest in partnership with Booking.com”). Even Hurricane Milton closing your airport (TPA), causing the cancellation of your flight - rebooked, cancelled again, rebooked again - till you finally lose power to your home, and not being able to make your reservation is a valid reason for cancellation of a prepaid reservation.
BUT, it gets more interesting given the conversations and emails with Southwest Hotels Concierge. Southwest Hotels Concierge would continue to ask for my patience as they were waiting for “…written confirmation from our relevant team regarding this matter.” In my last email from Southwest Hotels Concierge on October 18, 2024 at 1:03 pm I received the message ‘As you requested, we contacted the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport to request a refund for your reservation **. Despite our efforts, the hotel has decided to enforce the current policy and is not allowing any refund.’”
HOWEVER, in response to my Google review on October 18, 2024, the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport responded with the following: “In accessing your reservation I do see that the 3rd party that you booked through did cancel your reservation and they were never charged by us. We sincerely apologize for any misinformation provided to you by the 3rd party booking agent that you booked through. We have not billed them and they should have refunded you in full. Please feel free to have that 3rd party booking agent reach out to our management team for any clarification because we show a fully authorized cancelation on our end on October 9th. Please contact us directly if we can be of assistance.”
SO, Southwest Hotels Concierge “appears” to have explicitly misrepresented their communication with the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport. My impression of Southwest Hotels Concierge is definitely unfavorable. With the exception of one email from cs_suppliers@rocketmiles.agoda.com, (signed Southwest Hotels Concierge) all emails were from concierge@southwesthotels.com (also signed Southwest Hotels Concierge). It appears there is some “invisible” entity between Southwest Hotels, booking.com and the Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport. Perhaps more investigation is warranted?

The local airline company changed the flight time, that did not work for us, so we had to cancel that flight. As per the condition from the airline and different emails, we just needed to request it through "booking'. When calling "booking' several times, we had different answers. Finally, they confirmed doing the full refund after contacting the airline. It has been 3 weeks. They are still "contacting but not getting the response from the airline". Nothing like this ever happened with any other company. Eventually, this is their responsibility to have good contacts with the companies they sell for. We ended up putting the charge on a dispute with the credit card.

Even though it was a natural disaster, Booking.com will not refund me my one-night stay, $230, as it was against their 2-week policy. After several emails booking still denies it's their responsibility and would not refund my money for the upgraded room I booked. I also noticed that they had already pulled out the money for the stay. This made me angry and I ended up cancelling. My mom got hurt and did not know if would still be able to make the trip. Check-in with the property went fine and then we received an email from Booking.com stating that we were a no-show due to our changed arrival one day later.
We sent a copy of our attempted changes and emails and received an email from Mahmoud A. apologizing for the inconvenience. Three days later we were charged on our credit card $173 for no show. They have written emails and notification on their website that we changed our dates approximately 4 months before the trip ever happened. Can not get through to Booking.com for anything. Poor customer service. Can not get through to Booking.com for anything. Poor customer service. ' I wrote in to urgently request the cancellation of a recent booking made by my underage son for a property listed under my name. As he is under 18, this booking should not have been accepted, and I kindly ask for an immediate cancellation without penalty. No reply. Unfortunately, the property owner is refusing to cooperate in this regard.
Beyond this issue, I am gravely concerned by the numerous negative reviews that raise serious health and safety concerns. Upon further investigation, I discovered that this establishment, while advertised as a hotel, is in fact more akin to a hostel. Here are some alarming points from customer reviews that demand your urgent attention:
Hygiene and Safety Violations: Multiple guests have reported that the property is filthy, with a pervasive unpleasant odor throughout. The pool is consistently described as dirty and unusable. Dogs roam freely, defecating on the premises, and their waste remains uncleaned for days. This is not only unsanitary but a severe health risk.
Security Concerns: Guests have reported feeling unsafe at night, with alarms going off repeatedly, disturbing their rest and heightening fears. One alarming incident involved a staff member acting violently toward a child, which is completely unacceptable and poses significant liability for both the property and Booking.com as a platform.
Inadequate Customer Service: The staff has been described as rude, unavailable when needed, and dismissive when issues are raised. Appliances like microwaves are filthy, and when concerns are brought to the owner, she becomes defensive rather than addressing the problems.
Given these serious breaches of health and safety, I am shocked that this property remains listed on your platform. Not only does it fail to meet the basic standards of hospitality, but it also poses genuine risks to your customers. I strongly urge you to review the numerous customer reviews and re-evaluate whether this property should remain listed on Booking.com. Please cancel the booking immediately and issue a full refund. It is in the best interest of your platform, your customers, and public safety that such properties are removed before something more severe occurs. Confirmation number: **

It was my first trip to San Francisco, and I was recommended to this hotel by Booking.com as a replacement because the original hotel that I booked through Booking.com was unable to keep my reservation. I should have just taken the refund from Booking.com, but they paid the difference in price from the original hotel that I booked and Hotel Amari. The original hotel that I booked had 4 star reviews on Google, and somehow Hotel Amari had better reviews and was more expensive than the original hotel that I had booked, so I thought that I was getting a deal with Booking.com paying the difference. WRONG!!!
I should have known that from the first time when I entered the lobby, and it smelled of something dead that I should have left. The smell in the lobby and hallways was akin to a morgue. Had it not been after 1am, I would have left, but I had no other place to go, and my taxi had already left, so I was stuck at least for the rest of the night. From the lobby, I took the rickety old elevator to the 3rd floor to my room, gagging half of the way due to the smell. When I got to the room, I must admit that I was presently surprised that the room was tidy and, more importantly, not smelly like the lobby and hallways. The mattress was too soft and bouncy, but otherwise, the room was decent. The room did not have a thermostat or central heating or air, and it was chilly in the room. When I went to wash my hands, the water was rust colored.
I was able to stay with a friend, so I avoided staying at Hotel Amari for as much as I could. I had booked a room for 4 days, and I checked out on the 3rd day and caught a flight 1 day early. When I was checking out, I asked for a refund for the one day I would not use. The desk clerk told me that since Booking.com made the reservation that I would have to get a refund from Booking.com. When I called Booking.com they told me that Hotel Amari would have to issue the refund. So they just point the finger at each other, and I haven't received a refund. Both Hotel Amari and Booking.com get my lowest possible grades. I will NEVER use either one again, and I caution all that may consider using Booking.com or staying at Hotel Amari.

So I called booking.com before I checked in to see if they could honor this rate. They stated yes, all I would need to do is provide screenshots of the new cost and I would be reimbursed.
After submitting the proof they keep denying it and saying when they look at the website there is no proof that the hotel was that cost...never ever book through them! This is where the shocking services started, They agreed to contact villa and I was to send over all pictures and problems (to which I did). They stated they would give the villa 5 days to respond.
5 days passed. While my property was undergoing renovations, I requested that Booking.com close it to prevent any new bookings. Trusting them was our mistake. Despite our efforts, we continued to receive guests claiming they had reservations, only to discover that Booking.com had never closed our property. We were inundated with around ten reservations a month that we simply couldn’t accommodate.
As a result, we were forced to turn away these guests and find them alternative accommodations, which understandably led to their anger and negative reviews. Our once-stellar reputation was left in tatters, thanks to Booking.com. Repeated attempts to resolve this issue through their customer service were met with indifference. Each call resulted in being shuffled from one representative to another, with vague responses and little to no support. When we finally reached a manager, they were short and dismissive, leaving us waiting for hours with no resolution in sight.
Despite accumulating unjust charges and damaging reviews, we made the difficult decision to permanently close our property. DO NOT BOOK WITH BOOKING. So I figured I would try to give booking a go since Samsung does these little perks where you can get cash back. I thought that was pretty cool and also we all are trying to save a penny, right, since everything is going up in price and paychecks aren't getting any bigger. So, I booked my room for a conference for the next day on Booking. My reservation was confirmed, my money was taken, and I received email confirmation as well as a confirmation through booking stating that my room has been reserved. I was given a confirmation number and then their pin number.
I drove 8 hours to the location of where I'm supposed to have a room at and they're stating that they do not have a reservation that starts with those numbers nor do they have a reservation with my name on it. So, I call booking to see what's going, the lady first explains that they tried to send the confirmation over to the hotel but it was rejected... So, I asked why did no one notify me? This reservation wasn't done like just an hour ago or a few minutes ago. It was done around 8:00 a.m.. The lady at the hotel is standing right in front of me and she said, "No ma'am. Let me show you a booking reservation right here. I just have to cover up their personal information but you'll see that it came from booking. We do not reject any of those requests that comes from booking, Expedia or any of those platforms because we can't."
The lady at the front desk showed me where there was a confirmation that came through from booking and that they were checked in. So, I asked okay so why did mines not get pushed through so she says it's a flaw with something on booking in. So, then the lady on the line from booking said that well they cannot help how automation work, automation does all the confirmations and approvals. We don't do anything. So I said, so no one checks automation being that AI is so new and automation is not perfect.
I said we all are relying on this automation thing but fail to realize that AI is right now very much new and need human help. So who's checking the confirmations, who's checking to make sure the automation works, who's making sure that the hotels or the airbnbs are communicating properly with booking so that people aren't driving hours to a location where they don't have a reservation at but somehow pay for a reservation that's not existing? She said, "Well that's not my job," so I asked her, "Well what is your job then? Why are you working there?" The lady from booking explain that she will cancel my reservation and refund my money within 3 to 5 business days and I can make a reservation through the hotel itself but the hotel had no rooms and how does she know I have an extra 6 to $800 to put towards a hotel room a second time.
The lady pretty much couldn't help me so instead of her trying to figure out how to help me she hung up the phone with me. I was not rude, was not nasty, actually I was too tired to be any of anything for real I've been on the road for 8 hours. So, I called back to see if someone else could help me because right now I'm at the point where I'm going to have to sleep in my car or either Drive 8 hours all the way back home and then waste $275 on a conference ticket that I didn't go to. So, I am explaining to the lady what had happened, how the previous lady hung up and I asked her if she could please not hang up on me but if she can help me figure this out or find a room somewhere near. I'm not familiar with this area and I'm exhausted. I'm really not trying to sleep in my car or either drive all the way back home after I just drove 8 hours here.
So, the lady said, "Okay, okay just give me one second. Let me see how I can help you." So now I've been on hold for over an hour and 30 minutes waiting for her to come back but in the meantime I have ate, typed this comment, and called a few places for help on finding a place to lie down for the night. I used work phone to call a lady to see if her Airbnb was still available which is about an hour away in Baltimore traffic to my convention the next day. I was still left on hold. I mean it's better than sleeping in my car but Booking should be held accountable for this: poor customer, service failure to check their automation to make sure reservations went through successfully, lying about the procedure, lying about what they could do and inconvenience the customer because their processes are flawed.
Not to be racist or Prejudice or anything but ** people complain about American people's customer service and manners and theirs is just as bad so their people are flawed as well. I can understand if I was nasty, cursing somebody out, calling them out their name but I was very polite and I was actually very humble almost begging for help because I was so tired and since they're not in a situation I guess they just didn't care.

I was searching for a hotel to stay at through a web search. I opted to go with Booking.com since they offered the lowest price with an additional discount. After following a link they provided me with for a 10% discount, I booked my reservation. To my surprise the 10% discount was not reflected. I contacted customer service immediately after my booking to address the issue. The first representative tried to tell me that the discount can only be used if the email was received before the booking, in which it was. He then asked that I forward the email to them.
After an hour or so there was no word from Booking.com so I reached out again. I explained the situation to the next representative in which he said he would speak to his supervisor to see if they can assist me. Once again, they failed to assist me because I opted for a different payment method. Nowhere did it stipulate I had to choose a preferred method of payment to take advantage of the discount. I asked the representative to let me know where that is worded but of course, he could not provide with those details. Why? Because that does not exist. After wasting my time with the run around excuses I thought I’d save my time and effort and apply it to where it matters… which is preventing people from being misled by this company with their false advertisements to lure people in to booking with them. This was my last time using this site.

Booking.com is not reliable and responsible company. It’s very difficult to communicate with them. My latest problem was in Europe. I booked a hotel in Rome through booking.com and paid total 595.07 euros that included all taxes and fees. At the hotel they told that I have to pay additional 56 euros for the taxes. I tried to call booking.com on the local number but couldn’t get through because everything was in Italian. I wrote to booking.com on my app, didn’t get any response. I paid the taxes at the hotel and I came home. I tried to call them. It took 20 minutes to get to them and during my conversation I was cut off. I tried several times, each time had to explain everything from the beginning. Eventually I gave up and started to send them emails.
They asked me to send the receipt, I sent what the hotel provided me. Booking.com wrote that it’s not a good receipt because it has to have zero balance. I contacted the hotel, but they insist that booking.com contact them directly. They also wrote that I booked be Expedia and paid 472.32 euros before taxes???. It looks like I paid to booking.com 122.75 euros more than I should have and on top I still paid 56 euros for taxes at the hotel. Booking.com is not connecting the hotel, even as I provided their email. The following message I got is that I can provide different way of confirming my payment, I sent a picture of my chat with the hotel, but they will only send different receipt directly to booking.com if they ask for it. I paid cash so I don’t have different way to prove it.

I would give 0 stars but that’s not an option. Booking.com charged me $50 on top of what the hotel charged. When I called to ask why I was told it was a ‘resort fee’ even though the hotel did not charge me a resort fee. They continued to tell me there was nothing they could do about it and then hung up on me. When I called back they pretended they couldn’t hear me and hung up on me again. This company is evasive and they charge fees outside of the booking. There is no way to take care of it because they hang up on you. I will be contacting Better Business Bureau and I HIGHLY recommend not using their company.

I will NEVER use again. Too restrictive. You have to cancel at least 2 days in advance. When booked directly with chain or hotel or Expedia, the usual cancelation period of cancel by 4pm on day or arrival or something similar. Also you are charged in advance for the entire amount of your stay 2 days before hand which becomes NONREFUNDABLE. With most rates at hotels, you pay at hotel. Changing is difficult. If extending stay by one day when one of your current reserved day now shows as unavailable, you will not be able to change reservation. You must book a separate reservation for the extra day. It is a one way street with Booking.com and that all points to them. Rates are no cheaper and if offered 10% off, IMO it is not worth all the restrictions imposed by booking.com

We rented a room at a place calling itself a hotel in Ireland. What it actually was was the master bedroom of a house that the owners were still staying in. It was barely cleaned, there was still medication and other personal items in the bedroom, there were no locks on the door, and they were still there, staying in another room. The guy was creepy and if he had chosen to come into the room while we were sleeping, there's nothing we could have done about it - no locks, no security at all. The bathroom still had all their stuff in it. Very dirty, scary, nasty place.
Booking.com does nothing to vet their listings. When we complained about the very real security problems, etc., they originally would do nothing at all for us, and eventually gave us a £25 credit - as if I'm ever booking anything through them again. Also, I have no idea how to use that credit, as it doesn't show up on my account anywhere. Useless, borderline fraudulent. I would never use them again nor recommend them to anyone.

**Title: "Booking.com and Redford Hotel - A Nightmare of Zero Sleep and Zero Accountability"** I stayed at the Redford Hotel in New York City for three nights that were nothing short of a nightmare. The first night, a Saturday, was especially brutal. Noise from the street kept me awake past midnight—blaring car horns, shouting, and general chaos. Just when I thought I might finally get some sleep, 4 AM rolled around, and the nearby clubs let out. The resulting noise was deafening, and there was absolutely no way to sleep for the rest of the night.
The next two nights were no better. I was repeatedly assured by the hotel staff that things would improve, but instead, I was woken up to relentless jackhammering directly outside the front door. Then, they actually tore up the street right in front of the hotel, making it feel like I was in the middle of a construction zone.
After enduring this sleepless ordeal, the hotel manager promised compensation, but told me I needed to contact Booking.com directly. I did exactly that, but Booking.com simply directed me back to the hotel. Their customer service was an absolute joke—nonexistent follow-up, no assistance, and complete indifference to the situation. I reached out multiple times, and all I got was silence. It was infuriating that Booking.com, a company representing these hotels, could not be bothered to take any responsibility or even respond properly. They have no regard for their customers once the booking is made, and their lack of support in situations like this is beyond unacceptable.
This was by far the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. Booking.com should hold the hotels they list to a higher standard and provide real support when things go wrong. Instead, they left me to deal with an endless cycle of empty promises and neglect. If you value peace, rest, and even a basic level of decent service, avoid both the Redford Hotel and Booking.com. The experience was an absolute disaster from beginning to end.

Do not use this website! I made a reservation that stated it was non-refundable and I took a chance on that; however, a hurricane happened the weekend of my booking, and I hoped that I would be able to get a refund, given the circumstances of untoward weather. I contacted Booking.com and the hotel where I had the reservation. Each told me I had to deal w/ the other and I went back and forth. I finally reached the hotel manager and he said that he was willing to give me a refund; however, it had to come through Booking.com since the reservation had come through them. They continued to tell me that the hotel had not responded to their emails within an appointed time frame, and continued to encourage me to reach out to the hotel.
Since the hotel manager was willing to give me a refund, I believe that Booking.com is responsible for holding onto my original payment and that they are the ones who are unwilling to do anything about this. I do not think a non-refundable reservation should include a natural disaster that prevented us from taking our trip. I would never use Booking.com again and would not have done so in the first place, had I not realized I wasn't making the reservation with the hotel itself.

I told them yes, and the clerk said the car is not allowed in the state I was driving to, and promptly said she was canceling the booking. This is clearly deceptive business practices by Booking/Rentalcars. They refused to provide a refund.
Went to CC company to file a dispute and they sided with Booking/Rentalcars version of the story said the merchant provided Terms of services, which clearly was not the car rental company's terms, nor was this conspicuously pointed out on Booking/Rentalcars website during the booking process. Wasn't mentioned after confirmation. They provided the CC company out-of-context copies of their terms and such and the CC company claimed that once they do Visa and Mastercard mandates they close the dispute. To my utter disbelief, when my family and I arrived at the location listed by Booking.com, we were completely ignored. Not a single response from the property. I reached out through text, call, and email—absolute silence. I had traveled all the way from San Francisco, exhausted and expecting a smooth stay, only to be left stranded with no place to go. Imagine the frustration of standing there, with my family in tow, in a city we didn’t know, and receiving no help whatsoever from the property.
It took ages to finally connect with Booking.com’s customer service, and after waiting in desperation, a representative told me that my only option was to cancel and find another place to stay. I was furious. At that point, I had no trust left in this app, so I refused to book anything further through them. The representative filed a complaint for me, informing me I would have to wait 14 business days for any sort of refund.
Well, here I am, nearly two months later, and I’m still waiting. I’ve followed up multiple times, only to be told that the refund is delayed because they can’t reach the property. Really? Booking.com has tried to contact this unresponsive property, I’ve tried, yet this nightmare of a place continues to ghost us all. At this point, it’s clear to me: this property is either a scam or simply doesn’t exist.
And what’s worse—Booking.com has proven to be powerless in resolving this issue or protecting its customers. Instead of taking responsibility, they keep sending the same robotic emails, claiming they still need more time to get a response from the property. It’s been two months—how long does it take? I will never book through this app again. If you’re looking for low-cost accommodations, do yourself a favor and go with Airbnb. If you want a reliable hotel, try Hotels.com. But whatever you do, steer clear of Booking.com unless you enjoy being abandoned in a strange city and chasing a refund that may never come.

We were offered another room and when I looked at bathroom shower and tested it, it was very unsafe for my wife and I at 69 years old. No shower curtain in small bathroom and water went all over the bathroom, toilet area, sink and by entrance to the bathroom. Bathroom floor was underwater and slick and my wife has Osteoporosis. There were 6 rooms booked for our group. Two others did not have shower curtains and did not receive them during their stay. Complaint Regarding Canceled Reservation and Poor Customer Service. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint about my recent experience with Booking.com. Several months after booking a property for my family reunion in December, my reservation was unexpectedly canceled. Since then, I’ve had extreme difficulty finding a comparable place within the same price range, given how close the reunion date is.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, Booking.com has failed to provide a comparable replacement, nor have you honored your promise to cover the difference for the alternatives I’ve found. During my conversations with customer service, I was kept on the phone for several hours, only for the call to be abruptly hung up—twice. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, instead of addressing my concerns, I was offered a mere €25 credit, which is completely inadequate given the situation. What is even more frustrating is that there is no clear, direct number for U.S. customers. I had to write an email just to request a number, and I was charged when I tried to call the U.K. number listed.
This whole ordeal has been incredibly frustrating for my family and me, and it’s been a terrible experience from start to finish. Had I known this would be the result, I would have booked the same place through Airbnb for the same price. However, because I have an account with Booking.com and am a Genius member, I trusted that your platform would provide a reliable service. I want to warn anyone planning a vacation or any other stay to reconsider using Booking.com. This company is not reputable or reliable, and the customer service is abysmal. When I reached out to their customer service, the response was slow, and the resolution offered was inadequate.
I will be reporting this incident to the appropriate authorities, as I believe Booking.com could be held accountable for facilitating fraud through their failure to properly screen vendors. If you’re thinking about booking through this platform, beware. You might not be as protected as you think. I strongly advise against using Booking.com unless they seriously improve their vetting process for vendors and take responsibility for these kinds of incidents.

If you have to cancel a flight well in advance due to an emergency, Booking.com will do everything they can to make sure you don't get a credit or a refund. The customer service is there to tell you no in different ways according to their scripts. They don't listen to what you have to say and don't care. I told the supervisor the airline told me to call them, later she said call the airline. She was not listening and didn't care. Booking.com is a terrible company that will cost you money.

Do not ever use Booking.com. I had a booking with them when and went with my family to the hotel. The rooms they gave us were very terribly smelling bad and the beds were bowed in the middle. I asked the front desk to change my room but they refused. By saying “rooms are assigned by Booking.com and they cannot change them”. I asked Booking.com to refund my money but they told me to work it out with the hotel, but the hotel refused to refund my money. Then I went back and told Booking.com the situation…they refund to refund my money as well. The name of the hotel that I booked is called “Girasole Apartments”. Please don’t use them. You will regret. I end up booking somewhere else and lost all of my money that I used to book my stay via Booking.com. I’m leaving this review because I don’t want anyone else to suffer my pain!

This is the worst platform to book on or try to Market your property on. Their customer service truly sucks. Their technology seems to be dated from the 19th century era. I have tried for more than 2 months. They list a beautiful beachfront property that is popular on other platform such as Airbnb and VRBO unsuccessfully because of their difficult verification system. It is definitely not worthwhile trying to book on this platform.

The hotel told me they would not charge my card as it's not on file, but booking.com charged me and won't allow me a refund because I need to "contact the hotel" which I have, multiple times, but someone they managed to refund me $15 of the $141 they owe me. They are avoiding me and refusing to refund me the total for my stay. I've seen hundreds of horrible reviews for booking.com, all of which have similar situations to my own. I booked a room with Booking.com and accidentally selected the incorrect dates. I sent a request to change the dates and they did not get it fixed. The hotel told me to cancel my reservation and rebook Since my date was coming up and they could not get it corrected. The Hotel manager said booking.com would call them to confirm the reservation cancellation was OK and they would approve it.
Booking.com sent a message that the company could not receive because they change management. I called Booking.com and asked them to call the hotel so they could approve the cancellation, they said they needed written confirmation. While I was at the hotel, the assistant manager spoke to Booking.com on the phone and approved the cancellation but the representative at Booking.com said he needed her to respond to an email. He sent the email to a person who no longer worked at the hotel. He refused to send the assistant manager an email to her email so she could approve it since she could not access the person's email that no longer work there, at this point I have paid for the hotel room twice. I feel like Booking.com just wanted to keep my money instead of working with me to solve the problem. From this point on I would book directly from the hotel as Booking.com is definitely a scam. They will not help you if you have an issue.

I used to utilize Booking.com for several trips, but recently needed to communicate with Customer Service regarding a cancellation. The booking was not refundable, but I contacted the property directly per Booking.com's advice and the property agreed to process a refund so long as Booking.com representatives called them to process.
I called and messaged on several different occasions, and Booking.com said they would connect with the property but then went completely silent on me. I mentioned that no contact was initiated and, if they continued to ignore, I would dispute with my credit card company, which I ended up following through with. They argued the dispute. If they had made a simple phone call, this would have been fine. Per their argument they "act solely as an intermediary between customer and accommodation", which is obviously not the case. I will be booking direct through hotels from now on.

One month away from traveling we called to inquire about shuttle times, and were told there is no shuttle, never was. So we asked for a refund, got nothing. Filed a fraudulent claim with Visa due to false advertising, and their response was, "We are merely a booking site and aren't responsible for false claims," even though it was on their site. SCAMMED by Booking.com. We were scammed by a listing on Booking.com last week. A rental was posted by Luxe Pittsburgh at the Elliot Hotel/Mansion in Highland Park, PA. The unit was uninhabitable. It looked like a bomb had gone off inside the unit. Another couple arrived at the Elliot while we were trying to check-in. They had booked using VRBO - and turns out it was also for a phantom unit.
Talked with a Booking.com service rep who was not helpful at all - claimed no responsibility for the listing and no financial responsibility as well. Hung up on me when I asked to speak to her supervisor. The listing is still up on the Booking.com site - ??? Luxe Pittsburgh has never responded to me and we had to get our refund through my credit card company. Reported this to the Pittsburgh police who are actively investigating. We were not the first to be scammed. Will never use booking.com again.
