I switched over from Direct Energy after they gave us the best rate. These past three months though, our bills have been high. I called Direct and they sent someone to check our meter. They usually send somebody to do that. Every time they come to check, they say our meter is fine. Still, customer service has been good.

My sister was a customer of Direct Energy. It's not very difficult to deal with them. I feel that electricity prices are pretty reasonable. I like the free weekends.

When they came to my door I was a little skeptical. I don't usually check my rate at supply for my utility company, but I checked now and found that my rate is not fixed so they told me they could fix it at a certain price. It was a great deal if my true rate at the time was higher but sadly it was lower so I had to cancel to keep my lower rate.

At first, I liked the rate I was getting from Direct Energy as well as their free nights. However, I'm in the process of looking for another energy company. I use the same amount of energy but my monthly bills with Direct have been higher than anywhere before.

We moved to town and we bought a second home in Emory. Direct Energy was the company that was available. It's the same as the First Choice that we have in Lewisville. I had to rely on what the guy was telling me is the new price for the new contract that I signed. I was hoping that was the lowest rate there was available. It's energy for our air conditioners in Emory. The power lines that come from the pole got lots of limbs around it and to the other pole. Lots of tree foliage and stuff that I hope doesn't affect the lines in some way. The only thing that needs to be done is that those should be cleaned out but I don't know whether that's Direct Energy’s job or if it's somebody else's. So far, it’s been positive and dependable. We stay in that house three nights a week and we live in this other house four nights a week and it's been fine for us.

At the time I went with Direct Energy, their weekend plan was the best option for me. I used to travel for work and so I was out of town during the week. Getting plan that would let me maximize my savings by only paying for weekends made the most sense. So far, the electricity service I've gotten has always been good. Recently, I moved addresses and doing the move with Direct Energy was easy to do over the phone. I appreciate the help that the team I talked to on the phone provided me.

I went through the Power To Choose website. I did the cost breakdown of everything, the reliability score, and the customer service score. There were a couple of plans which had the better rate. But when I looked at their customer care, I said, "No. I think I need to go with somebody who has a little bit more better reputation," and Direct Energy seemed to have the best reputation of all the best prices. I have created my account and set up my Auto Pay. The website is very user-friendly.

I've been with Direct Energy for at least 10 years and I feel like anytime I've ever called or had any questions or just needed anything from them, they've been responsive. The rates have been pretty manageable and it never got to the point where I felt like I needed to make a move. The one area that I feel they lacked is the renewal process with them. When mine does renew, either I'm not aware of it or I don't feel like I was given notification. There's not much involvement there from Direct Energy to the consumer on the renewal itself. But I know that they can only do so much. They should contact me in every method that they've got my information for that. They've got my number, they can call it and text it. Email is the new spam so if it's email, there's a chance I'll miss it.
Then for somebody like me that's been there 10 years, it'd be awesome if there was a way that I hit a milestone as a customer staying with them, some sort of concession whether that's an energy credit or an offer to get some lower rates, like a thermostat device. Just something that says they appreciate somebody like me staying with an energy company where now, there are hundreds of choices of providers. I think something like that would go a very long way.

My parents use Direct Energy. They have used it for about eight years or longer. Direct Energy is more affordable than TXU, have great options and automatic bill pay. When I was trying to renew, I wanted to make sure if I renewed, my contract with Direct Energy is with me, and I called. The rep was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Direct Energy has been very easy to use. Not having to worry about it makes my life easier. I'm a happy camper over here.

I found Direct Energy through powertochoose.org. Direct Energy had a better rate offer that I found for my usage. Signing up was pretty easy. I'm on a contract.

I was with Bounce Energy and they merged or were taken over by Direct Energy. The rates are fair compared to everyone else. I like having the option of not being locked in anything. It's just that they really should send an email or something out to the user or to the person, or even through snail mail, letting them know that it's getting time to renew like if they are on one of the plans that end after a year and then the rate goes up to the daily rate, which is outrageous.
I had that happen to me because I've been just so busy lately that I lost track of what month it was and all of a sudden, my energy bill was double what it normally is. Then I found out that it was because my thing ended and I've been on a day-to-day plan. I told them that it would be nice if there was some kind of reminder that was sent out. I knew we had that with other accounts like TXU and other ones. Actually, Bounce Energy used to do that too before they were taken over by Direct Energy. But then having to renew is really simple.

From the very beginning every promise was a lie. No outsourcing lie - unable to reach anyone not in the Philippines after sale by USA resident. Bill will never be more than $95. We pay a monthly stipend of over or under 1000 kw. - first partial month $119, current $188. They stated they would listen to records of calls but surprise (!) the recordings of multiple calls disappeared. They told me they did average monthly billing based on records from previous provider - again a lie. Multiple emails asking me to join AFTER I was told service not available.
Summary: This company lies. A lot. The cost is not what you agreed. There is no way to reach a higher level of management. Once I thought Reliant had issues but this company is a scam from start to finish. A finish that I thought was one long miserable year but they told me in one of the many calls that I am signed up for two years. I have a terminal illness and I hope it happens soon so they do not get a full two years. A bit extreme but it appears to be the only escape from this nightmare. Two billings completed, 22 left. I do not get tangled up with this company. A drug cartel would be more ethical and honorable.

When I first moved out of my parents' house like over a decade ago, I got Bounce Energy, and I just stuck with them. Then in the past year or two, they became Direct Energy. I moved recently, so I had to talk to their customer service and transfer my service and whatnot. I had some overlap between my old place and my new place, and I told them to keep it on and then shut it off on this date, and that all went fine. The experience was pretty simple and easy. I had issues with Bounce Energy six years ago but in the past recent months, it's been fine since I've been with Direct.

My wife told me about Direct Energy. We have them now for over a year. We have a steady bill. They sent me an email that my contract was about to be up, so I just renewed it. I called them back and it didn't take longer than 15 minutes. It was awesome.

I have gas and electric with DE. It's frustrating to have to play hardball with reps instead of getting the rates straight off. Every time I said no on the electric, the rep came back with a lower rate. I'd prefer to just get the best offer upfront. The gas rep and the online rep were great and didn't negotiate.

My oldest stepdaughter, when she lived with us ended up switching from Reliant to Direct Energy after Reliant's bill kept going up and up. When she moved out, she took that with her. When she left, I went ahead and got Direct Energy. Their rep was good. I thought it was a scam at first, 'cause I got so many robocalls during the day. I thought it was just some guy trying to sell me something, but he was with Direct Energy. The service of Direct Energy has been good. Our house isn't insulated very well. So our bill went up a little bit more than I thought it was going to at first. But the guy called me after he noticed my bill went up quite a bit and offered me the two-year contract, which brought it down to 10.2 cents, instead of 11 cents per kilowatt hour. So that worked out a little bit better. It was a little cheaper last month.

The switchover to Direct Energy was very simple. I saw them on Power to Choose, which is a Texas website. I compare them every time it comes up and they had the most beneficial offering of the companies recognized. I renew it for two to three years. My rate before was lower but I understand. Two to three years ago, the rate in the industry was lower. The increase wasn't substantial but it was probably a good 10%. It fluctuates whenever you get ready to renew. Direct Energy is a commodity to me and as long as it works, I feel good.

I had looked into different providers from time to time and I just felt that Direct Energy would be the best one for me. They had the same problems from time to time. They had different problems years ago and fewer problems in this day and age, but nothing really drastic. I'm content with Direct Energy and will probably stay with it from now on.

At the time when I set it up, Direct Energy's rates were really good. Now, their rates have gone up and it’s so expensive. I've called several times to see if I can get a cheaper plan. They said, at the time, they didn't have any type of promotion going on. I also switched my godmother’s electric and hers is running expensive too. So, I will try to look for something cheaper. The senior citizen should have a cheaper rate. She's 78 years old and it’s just too expensive for her when she’s on a fixed income.

Direct Energy had a good plan and the service has been good. But choosing them came down to the price. Signing up on the phone was straightforward and simple. If you have a 12-month contract, it ties you down. So, to keep up with the competition, there could be some more flexibility there. Other than that, they work well.

The rate I found at the time was less and Direct Energy had a lot more options you can choose from as opposed to other companies, options that were beneficial towards students. They have options depending on the preference of the person they're dealing with. For example, you have work during the day and you study at night or you're gone a lot during the week then you're home on the weekend.
Something that is very important is whenever they have different plans listed and the average price of each. That price per kilowatt should be the actual price. For instance, the one I signed up for was free nights, and whenever I signed up, it said, “Oh, it's an average of like 10 cents per kilowatt hour.” That's strangely low. And nowhere did I see that it was really 14. Then whenever I called to inquire more information, after I had already signed up, they told me that, “Oh, no. Yeah, it is 14. It's just that’s the average with using the free nights.” The average of what? What are they basing that measurement off of? They should have the actual price listed so people can make their decision.
Also, my automatic payments are a little strange. Whenever I moved over to this apartment from my last one, I thought they already charged me for the last of it, but they were still charging me. It was weird. I paid it anyway. But those are my only complaints. I would recommend Direct Energy to students and maybe my friends, and tell them to make sure they read the fine print on things.

I signed up with Energy Ogre and at the time, they said Direct Energy had the best deal going. So, I told Energy Ogre to switch me over and they signed me up. Once the Energy Ogre signed up, they find the best plan they can with everything. My monthly bill is now much lower.

I've been with Direct Energy forever - 15 years maybe. Their customer service is good. They gave me a better deal and I just changed my plan. They could make it a little cheaper though.

I was interested in the discounts or the free nights and weekends when I signed up with Direct Energy. Then I moved from an apartment to a house and I transferred Direct Energy to my house. That was a pretty easy process. They did cut off my energy at my apartment a little bit so I was moving with no energy. It was dark outside and we were all using flashlights. But they got the power turned on at the house very quickly.
I am concerned about why I get an extra charge from CenterPoint on top of what I'm paying for my power. In my apartment, it was usually a $30 something fee. Then once I moved to my house it was $150 or something on my last bill. I don't understand what exactly it is that I'm paying for. I've called and asked about it and nobody from Direct Energy can explain why I'm paying it. So being charged an extra $100 a month for something I don't know is not worth it. I've actually looked at other energy companies because of that.

I shopped around and asked different people who I knew what energy provider they had. After that, I did a little bit of research and I liked the packages that Direct Energy had. I just need to review my bill for this last month because I recently moved. I had electricity in two locations and it's a lot higher than I'm used to. Aside from that, I have never had any issues. Everything's pretty much what I was expecting. The plan that I have works great for my overall consumption and my rates have been pretty good so far.

I utilized the chat function of the website to obtain a form. I was quickly provided a link to obtain said form. The contact took less than five minutes. The representative was very knowledgeable and knew right away what I was looking for. They weren't able to attach the form, but was able to get it to me through a link.

I had Gexa Energy and the rate was gonna go up pretty significant from what I had. I got on powertochoose.org website and picked Direct Energy based off that. Signing up was easy and I did 36 months with them. The only thing is on their website, there's no estimate. With my last three or four power companies, you can get online and see how much power you used up until that point of the month.

Online, I'm able to see all my related information in my account with Direct Energy. So, I don't need to call someone to know what is going on. But whenever needed, I would communicate with them. I also referred a couple of my friends to them.

I love Direct Energy. Their customer service is amazing and everything has been excellent. I just renewed a two-year contract with them. I stuck with the same plan which has the free weekend. We have a swimming pool and the free weekend really helps. It’s better but far as wattage and pricing, Direct Energy is pretty comparable.

Energy is all the same everywhere you get it and Direct Energy had the best price so I went with them. They give me peace of mind and everything's going fine with them.

Direct Energy is very convenient. It's easy to pay the bill. However, I wouldn't recommend them. They told me it’s 6 cents, and now I'm 10.

I was trying to find an energy source where I live and there was an electricity company, and then they changed to Direct. I’ve been with them for a while and I’ve never had a big bill with them at all. Also, when the lights went off everywhere here because of the thunderstorm, mine never did. They flickered off and on but they came right back on.
I love that sometimes they give you a plan where it’s night free or weekend free. You get an option. They have a variety of plans for different people and I like the 5 cents per kilowatt better. It's the one with the lowest amount. We were on another plan, but I did the math and I agreed to this one. We called Direct Energy, renewed on August 1st and switched. If I get out within 18 months, I will have to pay a penalty, but I'm not gonna get out of Direct Energy. They’re awesome people and I've had a great experience.

All companies nowadays want everything to be online, and everybody doesn't want everything online. I like my bill in my hand where I can see them, and I don't necessarily wanna have to stop and go to the computer or to my phone and look it up. I gotta have a password and I have to change my password every six months, and that gets old. That's my only complaint, but it's not just Direct Energy. It's everybody. I'm fighting with my phone company because they wanna send me to paperless and I want paper.
I've had Reliant and then I've had TXU for years and years and I'm not conducive to change when it comes to energy companies. I've heard some horror stories about other energy companies and then I heard something about Direct Energy. I looked it up and they had a rate that I liked for a longer period of time, so I gave it a shot. What’s the worst that could happen? Overall, the service is the same, but Direct Energy's rate is cheaper. Some companies, when you've been with them a while, they get complacent and they just keep raising your rates. Another thing is when Direct Energy sent me some information, they asked me some questions. I told them what I thought they could do better and they did what I asked them to do.

I love Direct Energy. Our experience with them has been amazing. They have saved us a lot of money. I have spoken to one of their reps and he gave me a better plan. I like that they have those free nights from 9:00 to 9:00, especially that's when we're at home the most.

We have Energy Ogre and they signed us up with Direct Energy. It's a little more expensive because we're used to co-ops out here. In Texas particularly, we normally get a cheaper rate and we get discounts in the community. Direct Energy could be cheaper but so far, so good.

I used one of those online energy comparison tools to see what the cheapest rate was for my area code. We kinda narrowed it down from there, what worked best for our family and our house, and went with Direct Energy. They had the lowest rate and the longevity of the plan was also a deciding factor. We upgraded to a bigger house and it's an energy-efficient house. We've been happy with how low the bill has been.

I have them for so many years and everything was going fine up until two months ago. When the pandemic started, my bill started going up even though I’m not at home. I'm not quarantined. I am an essential worker so I'm out 12 hours a day. My husband and were both out at work. I was paying around $70 before and then I noticed it went up to about $180, and now it's $300. I don't understand why it went up so drastically. I was told it's possibly my air condition. But we're Caribbean people. We don't do the cold AC. My air condition is set at 77 or 78. They changed my plan and I was paying 9 cent per kilowatt before. Now, they got me at 6 cents per kilowatt. So we'll see if there's a difference. But other than that, they were great. I have two houses in my name with Direct Energy and the bill at the other is about $70, which is not as bad as with the house that we are living in.

I went with Direct Energy as a direct result of some of the billboard marketing they had in Dallas. They advertised their free nights plan. I had a similar plan on TXU and compared the total costs. Direct Energy was cheaper so I went that direction. Signing up with them was super simple. Everything, for the most part, was pretty simple online. I have an annual contract. I moved right at the end of that. I called to transfer the service to a new address and that was super simple. It took five minutes. However, I don't love the interface of the app. It's a bit glitchy from time to time. But other than that, the actual experience has been really great.

We had Reliant for five years and they just kept increasing the price, then they got rid of my free nights and weekends, which really hurt on the long end money-wise. I went to some energy website which was a list of all the different providers and Direct Energy had just the lowest rate that I wanted that didn't have any gimmicks on you gotta use so much wattage in order to get that low rate. And then, signing up was easy. I just went into log in, create account, and then submitted everything and it was processed and moved forward. Direct Energy was able to lock the rate in for 28 months.

I really enjoy Direct Energy. I have not experienced any outrageously high monthly bill. I also use the website. When I had moved, I had a little bit of trouble with my account. It looked weird online. It showed as if I was still paying for my previous address. So it confused me. But other than that, the automatic paying, looking at my bills, it's pretty good to navigate through. The reps have been really good, too. My experience has been overall great. I haven't really had any major issues. Any time I needed questions answered, they were readily available. I don't believe I spent a long time on hold either. I'm satisfied with them.

We liked the price per kilowatt-hour that Direct Energy offered. We signed a three-year contract that was kinda lame. But the price per kilowatt-hour was far and away better than anyone else was offering. Getting started, the navigation was very easy. My one interaction with their customer service was when I was setting things up and that interaction was great. We just moved into this house not even like a month and a half ago so I haven't had Direct Energy long. But the power has stayed on and it's been great so far.

We were with HL&P and we were totally dissatisfied with them especially their cost. Direct Energy was not the cheapest, but it seemed to fit our budget the best with their free weekend program. HL&P also had that kind of program but we didn't see any savings out of it. I think it was a promotional gimmick more than an actual savings project. We've been with Direct Energy for four years now and so far, we're satisfied with it. As far as their service, we have everything online and direct billing. After the first year, I called and renewed for a couple of years. we usually get some sort of notice in our emails if it's up for renewal.

Everything's working out fine with Direct Energy. I got Direct Energy since 2010. I decided to go with them because their rates are pretty good back then. Then I’ve stayed with them because they've been consistent and they're not shady. Whenever it's time for renewal, they don't just automatically boost up the price just because they know you've been with them and you probably don't wanna change. Whenever I renew, the process is pretty easy. I forgot to pay two times out of this whole time. But even when I forgot to pay, they were like, “Hey, just calling to remind you.” I was like, “Oh my gosh!”

I liked that Direct Energy was accessible and able to come out pretty quickly to connect service. It seemed like an easy process. Also, the pricing is about equivalent from what I've seen before. I know what my bill will be depending on the time of the year. However, my bills last month have been pretty much higher. My electricity plan had lapsed the month before so it was an increased rate for that one month. I didn't get a call from them about the lapse until three or four weeks in. That's the only thing that needs improvement.

I've been with Direct Energy for four years now and overall, it's excellent. A friend’s mom of mine used to have them and she referred me to them. When I first heard about them, I looked at their rate. I was looking at what I was already paying and I went with their rate. It's usually just me and my daughter and my electric bill runs me anywhere between $50 and $60. In the summer, my highest bill is maybe 160. When I pay, I call on my phone. My card goes through and I usually get an email.

The price is competitive with everybody else. The only thing I don't like right now that it’s the summertime is the rates that CenterPoint charges for delivery. It jumped from $30 to $40 in the spring time to right now, at $100. It's not Direct Energy's fault but that’s an extra 100 bucks that we're paying them for nothing. But other than that, I’m fine with them.

I like their app. It tells me when I need to pay and I'm happy with it. Also, I'm always in for a price cut and when I signed up for service, I based it on price, first of all. However, I tried to use my nephew's account number to get him credit for me joining, but it never worked.

My uncle works for an energy company and he said that he had a really good service with Direct Energy. It's been about three years now since I went with them. We just recently moved and since it was good before, we just stayed with them. When we switched over from one house to another, I called in and had it done over the phone. The only difficulty was there was a little loss in communication. The rep I spoke with had a bit of a thick accent and it just kind of threw me off with the process of asking for information.
Also, it made me feel uncomfortable when they were asking to verify my identity because I didn't have a verifiable number from Direct Energy to do so. But we got it worked out. Then, I had somebody call asking to review that experience and I explained that to them again but again, they were asking me to verify my identity. That was kind of uncomfortable. Other than that, it's been pretty great so far. We've been doing our contracts year-to-year and we've been playing with the different rates and everything. I have everything locked up on auto-pay and they made it really easy. Also, the website is really easy to use.

I didn't have complaints with Direct Energy while I had them. Then, my contract ended and I went with another company. The prices that I could find and the ones that were being offered were a little bit higher than what I ended up going with. But I've always used the Power to Choose website and I tend to switch at the end of the contract normally. The price that was offered was about a point or two higher than what I was paying.

I was with another light company and they transferred over to Direct Energy. The only difference I’ve seen is that Direct Energy is higher. I normally pay under $100 for lights when I was with another company. Since I did a contract with Direct Energy, my highest was 125. Other than that, nothing else. In the beginning, I wasn't able to get locked in on any special offers. Then when my contract started over, the cheapest I got was about 10.3 per month. I love the website and it’s pretty easy. They have a utilization chart on there and started messing with it, trying to see how to change things.

I was told the third party site EnergizeCT.com is not controlled by Direct Energy so they cannot honor the offers. The options provided during our conversation were priced much higher than other providers. Seems silly and was not helpful at all. I will shop other providers.

I checked the rates and I liked what Direct Energy had in this area. I was downloading the app and the rep was very patient and guided me through the whole process. We were having issues with my login and he got me all set up. With Direct Energy, I have access to my information and I like my daily tracking. I found out about Direct Energy through a friend of mine and I was complaining about my other providers. Bill told me about the free weekends and nights stuff. The free weekends worked great for me. I called someone to sign up because I wasn't familiar with doing stuff online. The website was a little slow to maneuver through with the main menu. But since then, they've made some improvements on it. The last time I was on to look, I had to renew. I weighed the options of free weekends and stuff, and their website has improved. It's so much easier now. I hope they continue improving on the website. A lot of people nowadays hardly ever make phone calls and just do emails and websites.
The bill was just automatically out my paycheck so I don't see it that much. Although, I love the weekly reports. Then I get, "This is where you were last week. This is where you are this week. This is where you're headed this month," things of that nature. That's helpful to keep an eye on controlling electric bill throughout the week. It's pretty awesome.

At one point, Direct Energy was a partner with United Airlines. I got points on United for using Direct Energy. I transferred the service a couple of months ago. They seem to be fine in terms of reliability and I've had no problems so far. Once or twice, I logged on to their website to pay a bill and it was fine. It was pretty straightforward. It was just electricity usage and bill payment.

Direct Energy has been pretty good except for this past month, our bill was pretty high. The plans are based on what you actually end up spending. So, even though a plan says 9 cents, it comes out to be 11 or 12 cents. We usually don't use a lot of electricity. Even though I'm choosing a plan of 9 cents, in a month, I could be paying more because I don't use what they say I need to be using.

Signing up with Direct Energy was pretty simple. I did it over the phone. I liked the lower percent per kilowatt and the free nights and weekends. The only thing is I'm not a big fan of having to renew or edit a plan that I agreed upon. I'm kind of the set and forget it. So, having to do that every few years is a little bit annoying. Other than that, I'm fine with the way things are.

I was just looking at what the cheapest provider was. Direct Energy had a deal when I started. That’s why I went with it. I had a deal for the first 6 or 12 months, and after that, the deal was gone but it was still a good rate so I kept the plan. I ended up moving out of the state so I ended up having to discontinue. When I called the reps helped me out with that very well.

The company I was with was bought out and they automatically transferred me to Direct Energy. 15 years ago, I used Green Mountain Energy. I've used Bounce for years too. They had a rewards program and every 12 months that I paid on time, I got a percent credit back on that 12-month bill. That was nice and I miss that. I was pretty happy with them.
With Direct Energy, it's not really been any different than when I was with Bounce so there has not really been much of a change for me. It's okay. My contract expired and I called a few months ago. The rep set me up on a plan that she said was the same rate that I was getting on the previous plan that I was on, so I'm happy that my rate didn't increase. Customer service has been okay. But I've been trying to get my name corrected. Direct Energy has my old maiden name and I've been married for 10 years. I sent my driver's license and everything, but they still just won't update it so I don't know what the problem is.

I had a program with another energy company where the nights are free but I was not satisfied with their rates. So my friend told me to try Direct Energy. He got a smaller flat and he said he was getting a small amount of monthly charge. Direct Energy has two programs with either weekend free or night for free. Last month I got 144 with Direct, which is almost the same as my previous provider.

Direct Energy bought a few electric utility companies and I was a customer for one of them. I transitioned to Direct Energy and I just stayed with them. Whenever it comes time to renew, I go ahead and find out what the best rates they have to offer and stay with that. I've renewed with them maybe twice at the most now. Sometimes they called me and I just went ahead and talked with them about their plans and basically use that for renewal.
So far, there's nothing that I'm dissatisfied with Direct Energy. But at the same time, I haven't compared them to other service providers so I really don't know whether they're the best. If somebody were to come and ask me, would they want to go with Direct Energy, I'll say, "I had no issues, but I don't know whether they have the most competitive rate."

It was very easy to sign up with Direct Energy and I did it all online. I found them on the internet and I decided to try them because of the 12 hours of free services at night. I'll see how that works out and if it's actually cheaper than my regular bill. But right now, I haven't had it long enough to really be able to say how much I like it or not until I've seen my bill.

Direct Energy gives nights free. They have a really good online interface where you can check how much you're using by the hour. They’re pretty good. The rates are always a little shady but it's still cheaper than everybody else. And if you adapt your behavior, you can save a lot of money.

Another veteran referred me to Direct Energy and their service has been fine. They offer a discount for veterans. They have more plans too. Our monthly bills with them are not too bad. We recently moved so last year was a bit of a shocker. But it is a bigger home so it's to be expected.

We've been enjoying the service. We've been with Direct Energy since 2009 and I would definitely recommend them to anybody who's looking for a company. Even when people are outside of stores and they say they can give better, I tell them I have Direct Energy and that I'm never gonna change. I tell them what my monthly bills are and it is still low. It's under $70 and we're in the heat. The free weekends are good too. Once we find a good company, we don't leave them. In fact, we re-signed about a month ago. We had Ambit Energy before and we quickly got away from them. I didn't like them. The customer service wasn't good at all and there's no comparison with Direct Energy.

Their rates are great. They're very on top of making sure that all my payments are processed properly through the auto pay. I haven't had any trouble with them as far as if something going very inexpensive. I've applied for one rate and they've always let me know how I can save money. So that’s definitely something that was really helpful. I've moved once and they’ve transferred the services from one apartment to another with no hassle. I just got on the phone with them and then they were able to pretty much send the confirmation. The services have been great. They've been able to pretty much do everything up to par.

I was looking around for a light company. I used to do it with First Choice and decided to go with someone else. I went with Direct Energy and the difference is 100 or 200. I really love Direct Energy because they work with me. I have contact with customer service when I get an extension or pay my bill and that process is wonderful.

I liked the prices of Direct Energy. I didn’t have any difficulties signing up with them. I liked the processing. It was a lot faster than the other ones. Then with this one, I didn’t have to put a down. With other providers, it was asking me for $200 down or so.

We liked Direct Energy's pricing at the time that we signed up with them. We have three accounts with them, two business and one residential. We had a rep who signed us up and the process was easy. We've been pretty satisfied with them and when we had problems with things, their customer service communicated pretty well with everything.

I had TXU Energy before and their bills were just way too high for an apartment. Direct Energy had the same rates but free nights, so I ended up going with them. My dad has Direct Energy too. I’m pretty satisfied with my bills so far.

I was researching for low kilowatt wattage and I signed up with Direct Energy. At that time, they had the weekends free offer going on for one year. With them, I pay my bill online and I could download the website. But my bill’s a lot more now that I’m not getting the weekends free. So, I need to give them a call or find another electric company.

I heard from a friend that used Direct Energy in apartments and so far, I haven't had a problem with them. The monthly cost is not a bad price, which is around 50 or so, and I realized that my package came with a set rate. Recently, I haven't been at my house as I was quarantined with some people a couple of weeks ago. When I came back, I saw that I still owe the same amount. But besides that, everything is going well and I like their service.

Direct Energy is one of the clients of my company. That was how I first heard of them. I was moved over from Balance Energy, as a customer, to Direct Energy. I don't know if Direct Energy purchased Balance Energy. But they said, "We're closing up shop and we're moving your stuff to Direct Energy." I had the option to select a different company but I said, "Let me just try it out" and I did. It seemed okay and I've been there ever since. So far, so good. No issues. Their website is pretty straightforward. When I had to renew, I did that just fine and when paying bills, it was just fine too. I would recommend Direct Energy.

At the time I moved in, Direct Energy was offering the lowest rate. It was 7 cents per kilowatt for two years. We signed up for another two years but it went up to 10 cents per kilowatt. I'm very pleased with their services. I haven't had any issues with them. However, my daughter thinks they should offer the same low rates to existing customers. She's had Direct Energy for five years and it just keeps going up.
I love the website of Direct Energy. Sometimes, it's hard for me to find exactly what I want but that's probably more me. But, I really like it because I learned that I could go in and I could check my energy use when I wasn't at home and I can check every day what's going on with my energy. 'Cause I live out in the country and I have a water well. So if something happens to my water well and it's ticking on and off and raise my electric bill up, I can be notified fairly quickly.
I only have one complaint and that was because there was a mix-up in renewing my contract. My electric for January was twice. It should have been like $100, $150, and it was 300 and something dollars because my contract didn't renew. I had renewed it, but I had renewed my aunt and not mine. There was a mix-up in the renewal dates. But so far, our experience with Direct Energy has been very good.

I did a Google search and did some research to compare the kilowatt-hour prices as well as the deal, and heard about Direct Energy. It wasn't too difficult getting started with them but the overseas call center wasn't enjoyable. I made it through it but more would feel comfortable speaking to an American about electric service in their hometown. I’m on the Twelve-Hour Power 12 plan. I'm in the military so most of the time, I'm gone during the day. It made sense to have free power for when I'm mostly home. It has been an excellent service although I have to call in to pay my bill every time because the online payment doesn't work.

When I first moved to Texas, I had to get an apartment and I started on researching some energy companies. I liked Direct Energy's rates and they had kind of perks compared to the other companies. I really love the weekends free and I get the Nest thermostat sort of help me study how my AC consumed a lot of power. Ever since then, they kept on helping me even when I have moved numerous times. I’ve been using the same energy broker for about 15 years now. I was traveling very heavily, and having Direct Energy kinda grew to be a convenience thing. His prices have gone up, but it’s a simplicity factor. My broker still, from time to time will feed me this type of energy, but I really don’t buy into green energy. So, when I found out that he has fed me a deal that is predominantly green, I wanted to throw up. I prefer to buy carbon fuels. If most of the energy is coming from carbon fuels, then I’ll be pretty happy with Direct Energy. I don’t like to compliment companies that are predominantly doing green energy. But with Direct Energy, I didn’t lose energy. So, I didn’t have a blackout. I did not have any problems getting energy through Direct Energy. For me, it’s a source, and I really don’t want to buy into green energy.

I had an expensive bill with Direct Energy when I moved to my new apartment. I got free nights and I wasn't using anything after hours. I had been doing the same thing when my bill was 80, 70 and sometimes 90 and then all of a sudden, it jumped to 160. I didn't understand it and they couldn't explain it to me. I told them that I wasn't gonna pay the 160 for electricity bill and that I would switch companies. Their reps were really generic when I voiced my concern and they just said the basic stuff, apologized and gave no information. But that’s the only problem I’ve had with them. Direct Energy wasn't high. I also have their app and it's cool and easy to use.

We were TXU customers for a long time and we were not happy with them a year before we moved to a bigger house. We shopped around and chose to go with Direct Energy. TXU didn't have free weekends or free seven days in a month but Direct Energy did. Plus, their bills have been very consistent among providers during the hot months. It's very high due to the heat. Still, their price has been very comparable.

I've been with Direct Energy for six or seven years now. I was going through a divorce and they were reasonable on their prices. I won't go to anybody else. I've been asked many times, but their quality is great. I don’t have any issues talking to anybody if I have to postpone my bill or pay half, which I haven’t had to do very much at all. My bill has always been rather reasonable. Customer service has always been good. I re-did my contract in mid end of May, and I locked in on 9 cents per watt. Overall, I am satisfied. I talk to other people about the company and try to get them to go with them because I haven’t had any issues. They are a good company to work with.

I've had several energy providers in the past. With them, I started out with them having promotions and then they had charges here and there. I went with Direct Energy and so far, I haven't seen that with them. I'm not home during the day as I'm on a twelve-hour shift. My kids are more active during the night. Direct Energy is a good service. I am just a little bit worried about their rate. My bill was very comfortable before. But for the last two months, the rate has increased and it’s really high. Also, the power went out for a couple of seconds and then it came back. This happened for the second time this month and I didn't know why. Other than that, everything is okay.

A long time ago, a friend at work told me about Direct Energy. My dad and I were doing a new construction then, so I set it up with them. He was getting ready to get his permanent service and he usually goes with either Green Mountain or TXU. However, we ended up with Direct Energy when I told him to try it out and he went ahead and did that. I don't know if they do the refer program, but when I referred him, he mentioned it to the associate who was helping him out and I never got a response from that. Still, things are going well and so far, so good. The customer service is very friendly and professional. I came across some speed bumps, and they were quick to assist and they resolved the issue. Everything that I experienced with Direct Energy was smooth.

Direct Energy's services are great. I love how I have weekends free. So, it works. The very few times I've had to call, everybody's been super-helpful. Every time I move, I see if there's Direct Energy in the area and I use that. They're great. If there has been an issue, it’s usually like a power outage and I've gotten updates of, “Okay, this will be the time that it comes on.” Usually, it's better than what they say. They are pretty communicative.

My grandmother had Direct Energy for her rental properties. I switched and I like my prepaid service because I travel a lot. The house that I have it on is also a rental property and when I’m not at the rental property, it doesn’t matter if the light’s on. It’s not going to just deplete. I could put $50 on there and it would last a month and a half or more. When my air conditioner went out, I had to use window units, and it still was used at a good amount. I thought maybe when I hooked all these window units up, my money was going to deplete fast, but it’s a good plan. I like it.
I had a problem one time trying to pay it online, and I was putting in my account number, but I don’t know what was going on. It was a malfunction on my end or the app, but it wasn’t a big deal. I didn't need to call customer service because my light was taking too long to come back. It said two hours on a text message, but it came back on in 20 minutes. It was a fast turnaround rate. Also, I had TXU before and it might fluctuate up and up and down, but when I found the prepaid with Direct Energy, it helped me be able to balance it more.

I've been with Gexa for the last 14 years. We've been paying light bills for years and we never thought to check and see about rates and everything else because we just paid our bills on time through the online billing. After we moved in, we switched over to Direct Energy and we've been keeping it ever since. I really am pretty happy with the plan, and we just recently renewed it. I’ve been getting emails letting me know what kind of usage I’ve been doing, and also everything is electronic so I really don’t have to receive any bills. Since my husband is now retired and we’ll be traveling quite a bit, I don’t have to worry about getting any paper bills and the bills will be paid automatically. That’s one thing I really like. So far, I’m a very satisfied customer. My experience has been fast and efficient, and I like the rates.

We have lower bills with Direct Energy and I like the rates better so far than who I’ve had in the past. I like the free weekend option from the plan I chose as well. Also, my interaction with the reps are relatively good.

I wasn't happy with the sales tactic. I remember feeling tricked, and it was not good. My rates have gone up a little bit because I'm trying to sell my house, so I didn't enter into a long-term contract because I'm going month-to-month with them. But, the service of Direct Energy is fine as long as you are under contract with them.

We renewed our plan with Direct Energy and it was slightly more expensive than the last few plans that we've had. In the past, it has been difficult to get a hold of them or understand the people I'm speaking with. Currently, I use their app more often than anything. That's where I pay our bill from. Sometimes, it's down or some of their services aren't available. Improving that would be great. Still, things have been good so far.

I hate everything about Direct Energy. I don't like all the services we have with them. My cables are at the backyard and when I asked them to come to put those under the ground I called five times and they never showed up. I don’t recommend them to anybody.

I’ve been a Direct Energy customer for at least three years and that’s all I’ve ever used. I did some type of research, and they had a good rate back then. They’re good and the quality of service has been nice. When I call, I get somebody and the customer service has been nice as well. You can’t go wrong when you get those types of positive interactions.
My experience with Direct Energy, overall, has been a satisfactory one. If I ever had an issue, I was able to call and get good, up-to-date feedback. They have also been responsive in answering questions or any general concerns. Another thing is that they have a nice website that's super user-friendly. When you can get online and get the information you need without having to phone anyone, that’s a win, especially in this day and age. Their website gives a lot of updates, so you don’t need to call anybody and that’s the beauty of the internet and websites.

I like Direct Energy. I have a friend who works there and she introduced me to the new plan. I had Reliant before and when I switched, they have that military plan. I'm a veteran, so everything worked out okay, fast. Customer service is good as well. When I tried to renew the contract, it was not part of their website, so I called them. They did something up there, and they checked and said I was on the system. It had been renewed. Maybe that's a special plan for the military, so it did not show up on the website. Overall, everything is good.

I like Direct Energy's rates. They're better than those from previous energy providers that I've had. Plus, they have specials where I can get free electricity on weekends or at night. With Direct Energy's free night plan, we've been able to do a lot more home activities. We hold on everything during the day and once night time comes around, we're able to do our laundry.

One of my friends who had Direct Energy told me to switch to them. So far, having their Evergreen plan has been economical and convenient. Previously I had Champion Energy and I didn't like their rates. Having Direct has been a huge difference.

A person from Direct Energy came to my door selling their service as a natural gas supplier. I have National Grid as my provider but she convinced me to sign up with Direct Energy as the supplier to National Grid. She told that by switching to Direct Energy, my rate per therm would go down from $1.03 to $.639, and my bill would decrease significantly. When I got my bill and the amount owed had gone way up, while usage had not. The my wife and I reviewed the bill and found that the sales person told actually pointed to the "thermal factor" on the bill ($1.03), but our price per therm was actually only $.43 before we switched, so the Direct Energy price was actually 20 cents more per therm (a 50% increase). I believe the sales person intentionally misled us to make a sale. I would advise anyone not to do business with this company. When we called customer service they were not helpful and we had to escalate it to get them to do anything.

I was just reviewing different energy companies that was in that location. I was calling them and talking to them about their rates. I talked to a young man from Direct Energy, and he was very helpful and explained it to me. I was pleased with what he told me. I got my first bill now and the only thing is, I haven’t been able to review my kilowatts to see how much kilowatts I used. I did access my online account. We’re back in Austin for a little while. So, we’re not there right now. I was never able to print the bill out and review. I went in to where it said usage wattage that says on the panel beside it to the left of it, but I was never able to get it to go in and show me what the actual wattage was. I was just wanting to review the bill and see what the breakdown was on different things. I’ll be getting another bill in another couple of weeks, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to review that one.
Direct Energy's website needs to be a little improved. I did an automatic payment thing where they just automatically take the payment out of my account. The gentleman that helped me from the initial start went ahead and set that up because I was having problems getting on their website. But other than that, I don’t have a problem with them.

They had a promo about free energy for the weekends so I ordered the service, they came and they did it, which was perfect. We got the free weekends and then it changed to every night free energy. Direct Energy has a better platform online than my previous provider. My experience was flawless overall. There was zero struggle and it was super straightforward.

When I went with Direct Energy, I thought I was gonna have a steady amount as far as my bill goes. I signed up online and went through an easy process. However, things are not working out that way. My bill is higher than I thought it was gonna be. When my contract is up, I'm gonna look elsewhere.

I was sick and tired of the account that I was using before with TXU Energy. They were always so expensive and the rates were ridiculous. And every single time the contract had to be renewed, for some reason, when you log in to select one and you call to verify, that was no longer available then you need to switch and they raise your fee. That would get me off of any energy provider. If they didn’t update what was on the website, they were responsible. So, that was something that really ticked me off and made me move from that company even though I was with them for 19 years. Their customer service was horrible, too. But since I switched to Direct Energy, the customer service that I've been getting has been much more personalized. They’re listening to the customer and I want to thank them for providing a reliable energy company. I love their service so far and compared to TXU Energy, they offer a better product.

They were cheaper at the time and their customer service was good. They helped me out. They were straightforward. I asked them for everything and they didn't lie. They put all the taxes in there and that was what I wanted to know. So far, so good. It's only been a couple of months since I had it. My bill is one-third percent less of my other bill, so it's saving me money.

I just moved and when I was set up for the Direct Energy service, they put me in a program that cost me $300 to $400 a month. I had to call in and tell that that I was going to cancel, and then they put me on a program that dropped it down to half of it. The first person I dealt with didn't know what they were doing and the second person did. So, I'm pretty much happy now.

It was very easy to sign up with them. We did it in 30 minutes. The majority of it was online. They had to call us back to confirm a couple details. The current plan we have is the one that we thought would fit our lives best. We have the weekend free plan. So it works pretty well. My husband and I work during the day so we very rarely use the electricity during the week. We get home and we’re active for about four hours and then we go to bed. We mostly do a lot of our cooking, our meal prepping, and our laundry on weekends. So I love the plan.

Everything is going well with Direct Energy. I was referred to them by my cousin who’s a customer as well. We recently changed our plan to the 12-hour power. I thought initially that we would have most of our charge on the weekend, but it ended up being the same. It’s a little bit more than what we used to pay, so it’s probably because of the increase in rate from that change of plan. I haven't really utilized the apps or the website more, but I would like to see some information on how we could lower the monthly amount like based from our usage.

Last November, I was trying to put electricity for my business. I had been with a company called Just Energy for almost 15 years, but they denied me this year. They wanted me to do a big deposit. I contacted different vendors and called Direct Energy. Direct Energy didn't hesitate and didn’t ask me for a deposit. They were the easiest company that I ever worked with. It took nothing but 24 hours and they got my electricity up and running. The contract with Just Energy on my house expired back in March. I just signed a contract for my house for five years and I have a contract for three years for the business.
Sometimes, when you call other companies, you can be on the line waiting for somebody to answer for about 40 minutes. And the next thing you know, somebody overseas answers the phone and sometimes you understand half of what they’re saying. However, Direct Energy's customer service is so nice that they even provide you with their personal numbers so that you can email or text them if anything was wrong with the service. That is something that I appreciate.

Direct Energy is good and I like it. I had been using it for three years and initially, I had some package which didn't suit me. Plus, the charges are more. I told Direct Energy about it and they reviewed it and said it was not the package that I should have. They told me to have a different package and so I reduced my electricity bill from $50 to $35. They were quite nice, particularly the receptionist who walked through with me. She did all these good things.
Then this year, they said they wanted to renew my Direct Energy again. But I told them that I'm leaving on the 31st of May and moving to my daughter's place. I wanted to disconnect my service. But I'm very happy with Direct Energy and that's why I told my daughter about it and the benefits that we have with them. She called them and she got the connection of Direct Energy now.

They gave me a good price, so I’ve been with them since. They called the other day and I got on a new plan that’s supposed to be a little bit cheaper. The rep told me that I could save some more money so I went with it. So far, it's been doing good. I’m plenty satisfied.

My sister told me about Direct Energy and we've been with them for about six years. Sometimes, when I call somebody or somebody from Direct Energy calls me, I can't understand them. It seems like they're in a foreign country. They try to speak English and I can't understand them. It's kinda hard for me to communicate until I tell them to give me somebody who speaks English.
Before, we were paying around $500 a month. One time, we went on vacation and was gone for two weeks, but our bill was over $400. It didn't matter if we used electricity or not, they'd always charge the same thing. It was a big company and we had no choice but to go with that company at that time. As soon as we found another company, we switched to Direct Energy. We have been doing better. We can tell the difference when we don't use our electricity and when we use it. Before, we couldn't tell no matter what we used.
With Direct, we can tell when we're gonna have a small bill or a big bill because we know how much electricity we're using. In the summer, it would be a little higher at around $200 because we use the central air a little more and we can understand that. If we use it a lot, it might get up to $300, but very seldom. When we don't use electricity that much, the bill is only a little over $140. So far, we've been happy with them and would be staying with them for a while. We renew our contract with them once a year and we do it.

Direct Energy's service is good so far. I’m with free weekends. But that doesn’t help me in getting my electricity bill down. The bills are still out. Before, I used to pay for a month, 60 to 70. But since last year, it has gone up like 120. I discussed it with them and they were saying the charges for Texas have gone up. Also, a representative called me two weeks back about discussing a plan. But then that didn’t go through well.

This was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had in regards to dealing with a utilities provider. It began when I tried to sign a 4 month contract for electricity from their website. The website could not process the order and I was given a phone call from a representative shortly afterwards. I had a very hard time understanding the rep. Just before the last confirmation to complete the order was given, I asked if the contract I was signing was the 4 month contract. It turns out the rep. was trying to get me to sign a 15 month contract, even though I never stated that I needed electricity for 15 months. The rep. ASSUMED I would be okay with signing a 15 month contract when I initially signed for a 4 month contract.
After trying to explain that I only needed 4 months of electricity because, that's how long I was going to be leasing my new apartment, the rep. continued to attempt to convince me the 15 month plan would be better. I ended the phone call, letting her know that I would try the website again. Later I signed up for month to month electricity from their website, but was never given an email confirmation. I called that Monday asking why I was not given an email confirmation and was told that it was because I had signed up for the plan on the weekend and that it would take a couple of days for the email with my account information to be sent out. I was also given confirmation that the order for the electricity was approved and that the electricity would be installed on the required date.
I needed the electricity installed a very particular date because the apartment complex I was moving into required the electricity to be installed before I could move in. The day before I planned on moving into my new apartment, I gave Direct Energy another call to make sure that the electricity was going to be installed so that I could move into my apartment. I was given complete confirmation from a customer service representative that the electricity was approved to be installed on the requested date and I was also given my account number. I later tried to sign in to my account with my account number, only to find the account number was for a completely different person.
I called back and was told by the same rep. that gave me the account number that I was not going to have an account with the company because I was on the month to month plan. This was fine as long as the electricity was going to be installed on the requested date. The day of move in, I called Direct Energy asking for the email confirmation with the confirmed date and address for the installation and was told that my order HAD NEVER BEEN PROCESSED.
After having 2 confirmations that the electricity was going to be installed, I was being told that it was never installed. They suggested that I try to order electricity from their website again so that they could install the electricity that same day, but when I went went through the order process on their website, it could not process the order as before. It was then that I decided to go with Champion Energy and was able to have electricity scheduled to be installed that very day within minutes. In conclusion, it was a very stressful and frustrating experience dealing with Direct Energy and I hope I never go through it again.

They bought out Bounce, who I was originally with, so I just rolled with the buyout. Everything was kinda auto-rolled over and it was cool. When I dealt with the rep, it was straight to the point and it was fine. The only weird thing that I found, and it could be across the energy world altogether, is that when I re-up my contract, it's cheaper to go shorter contract than longer contract sometimes. It seems like they don't wanna log their customer in for longer.
