Direct Energy's service charge is less than the charge of other companies. But I don’t like the fact that they set you up for a yearly usage fee and when that fee is coming up, they don’t make a very big effort to make you aware of it. They send you out a letter two or three months ahead of time, which is way too much time to make an evaluation. So, they should really be a little more persistent in trying to make you aware if there’s a change in the rate. But their team has always been nice and cordial. They’ve always been helpful on any questions that I have and they can also answer anything. They know their stuff too and they’re top-notch with that.

The bill with Direct Energy is a little cheaper and the rates are pretty decent. This company is doing alright and they give me a good service.

Someone came to my home from Direct Energy. She's a good girl. But I really get very high payments for this so I want to cancel. I receive two bills. One from Elizabethtown Gas and second from Direct Energy so I have to call them and make a payment. Right now I didn't pay two months and I have to call them. I don't speak good English and it's a little bit hard to get these two separate bills. It's confusing for me. If you can change this it will be good. But the service is good.

Direct Energy saves us money so it's good. My bill was too high before and then it dropped down at least $20 once I changed to Direct Energy. Most people want to save money because everything’s expensive. So I tell other people that my bill went down with Direct Energy hoping they'll make a change. I'd recommend them.

Compared to the local power company Jersey Central, Direct Energy has cheaper rates. I can see the difference in the bill. It’s still through the local power utility but it’s definitely less expensive. I've had them for a couple of years now and it’s simple as I just pay the bill and I’m done. I tell others looking into Direct Energy that it’s easy to go do it.

I was with New Jersey Natural Gas before and I switched to Direct Energy due to the fact that at that time they were offering the gas services a little cheaper. But now Direct Energy overcharges for the electric. And I don't like how they have treated their workers in the past when they came in. I hear a lot of complaints from the workers. They're always being watched and second-guessed for what they're doing. They short staff the three-crew team, cut it down to two-team. A two-team, I think, is a safety issue. And this goes back many years. They have some work relations they should be working on with the crews. And they should go back to three-men crews on the line.
But I assume the people I talked to on the phone were more of not connected to Direct Energy. They were hired and were like phone people, calling to get the information and those people are okay. I think maybe if Direct Energy used their own it would be better for the economy and give other people chance to work. I'd give Direct Energy a chance but I got away from Direct Energy just recently for the cost factor of buying my third party electricity was cheaper. And their rates are getting ridiculously high. I don't understand why we live in the so-called triangle of New York and Philadelphia area and New Jersey because I got electricity from Penn Electric, which is also connected to Direct Energy.
And I just think their rates are high. I had to shop around. I saved basically two cents for Pennsylvania and I saved a penny and half here in Jersey so I think Direct Energy should be taking a look at the cost and their profit line and change their profit line instead of making the big management, as well as their stockholders, roll the money and remember the people that are paying for the bill because they're sure to help and offer a cheaper rate.

I signed up with Direct Energy as soon as I moved into my apartment. Anytime I need help and call, they give me the answers I need. If people ask me, I would tell them that they should try Direct Energy.

Direct Energy had a better rate than what I was paying. I signed up not too long ago and their service seems good enough. I will continue being their customer. I'd tell others as long as Direct Energy offers a better rate and they lock the service for two years, which was my case, they can save some money through that time.

Everything is doing good with Direct Energy. We like their service because they're on the budget and it works out. We paid an extra $25 though when we paid for the extra electric and gas. Still, we're going to continue their service and I would tell a friend to sign up with them.

I was kind of skeptical about how Direct Energy could lower my bills but I liked the way they installed it. They presented themselves like a wholesale company where they could go out and get the best deal, give it to the consumers and pass it on. I've had them since November and the house warms when we need it to warm. I'm surprised though because they don't have any contact information for us or they prefer to work through Consumers because the bill hasn't really changed.

I find nothing seriously at fault w/ Direct Energy. They have consistently beaten all the Big companies hands down. At least in our area. They have really good customer service for the most part. Only one thing I dislike about the way they handle late bills. They start calling you after 3 days. Seriously? And then they automatically hit you w/ a disconnect fee. Unless you call them back & make a huge fuss you're stuck w/ it on your bill.

Direct Energy sent me a letter. So, I decided I'd go to them and ask. And then, I decided to go with Direct Energy 'cause it was a little bit low. Now, everything is going fine with our experience with Direct Energy. They're also better than the previous company that I used because there's a difference between the prices. They are lower at Direct Energy.

Direct Energy took business away from NYSEG to break their monopoly and I'm happy that we're getting competitive pricing now. My only complaint is that I have to renew it every year. One year, I forgot to do it and our electric bill was going through the roof. I thought we were using more electricity and this went on for about two years. Then I realized that I had not renewed it. Every year they ask us to renew it whereas most people who want to start a contract, they renew automatically until the client says they don't want it anymore. So that was very confusing to me. It just seemed like a little bit of a layer of complexity. But I'm not going to let that happen again. When they send me the thing in December or January, I immediately renew it.
We even had propane-fired water heater which was very expensive and the electricity was more competitive than the liquid propane being delivered to the house so I switched over to electricity. We are out in the country and we don't have gas lines so everything has to be delivered except electricity. And with those things, it's cheaper to go with one type of fuel sometimes and others times, it’s cheaper to go with another. But at this point, electricity is economical for most of the things that we use it for, like the electric dryer, the electric water heater and the electric stove.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for about three years now. I was with Consumer Power before and initially, they were a lot better price-wise. I told Direct Energy that Consumer Power was lower so they looked into it and straightened that out.

Direct Energy said that they would have cheaper pricing and offered some other benefits which I never took part in. I thought it never worked out to their advantage because their percentage of my gas bill was only a couple of bucks a month. When I switched apartments in the same building, Direct Energy sent me a notice telling me that because it wasn’t a full year and it was a short term, they charged me a hundred dollars for early cancellation. So I called them and said I didn’t have a problem continuing with them. I said I can switch it to the other place.
It was supposed to be done January of this year because they said it would take two months to switch over to the new address. And it was the same building, just a different address, but same supplier and account number. I got the documentation saying that everything would be taken care of, and on my bill from the supplier it says I’m getting energy from Direct Energy but I have not received a bill from them. I changed address in November and they contacted me in December and sent me a bill for a hundred dollars. I called them up, talked to a young lady, had everything switched over and she said since I'm signed up at the new place, I would not be charged for the cancellation fee and it would be two months until I see a bill.
The last interaction I had was pleasant and the young lady rep was very helpful except for nothing’s been accomplished. I should’ve reached out but I’ve been on the road quite a bit and just haven’t had the opportunity. The previous eight months or so, it was so minimal and instead of cutting them a check every month I’d send a 10 dollar check every three months and that would cover what their portion of the bill was. I never saw the benefit to them for having me as a customer. The billing has always been the same except that I haven’t received anything from them and I should have last month. Everything seemed to be okay, although the initial contact wasn’t a good experience. I would tell a friend not to bother with Direct Energy.

Someone from Direct Energy came to our door and I bought what they were selling. It’s a good deal and it was really simple to sign up. It's also cheaper to use them. I've been with them for two years now and it's worth it. I called and had it renewed ‘cause they won’t automatically renew without my permission. They’re doing a fine job and I'm very happy with them.

Direct Energy bought out the company that I went with first. I only called them when I had a bill that I knew had to be wrong. Direct Energy overcharged me quite a bit and gave me a hard time. Then, they finally put me through to somebody else in the billing department and that was when it got resolved. I had to pay the bill and they reimbursed me. They sent me a check, and then two days later, I got another check, which I called and told them about. They said to tear it up, which I did, as I was very honest.
I got my electricity and that was all that was necessary and what I was interested in. But I've canceled with Direct Energy two months ago because it seemed like they were always higher than my electric bill from Atlantic Electric. And I still have ways to go for my gas. However, on the electric bill that I’ve got this month, Direct Energy was still there. Overall, it was a mediocre experience with Direct Energy and I would tell my friends to stick with Atlantic Electric.

I just came back from the hospital and saw my brother-in-law who was dying when the Direct Energy reps knocked on my door. My niece told me I should go with them and to get rid of them, I said anything. Otherwise, I wouldn’t really have changed. They told me that my electric bill would be lower, but it was always running around $85 in my quarters and this month, my bill is $95 with no Christmas related stuff. Then, I have a set of three rooms up in the second floor which always ran between $24 and $25, and it's still the same. I have no refrigerator up there, the stove is disconnected, and there’s no electric clock. The young people from Direct Energy who came here and spoke to me seemed to be genuine, but I feel like they took me and they weren’t truthful. A lot of people are that way today, but I think it was just something that the company wanted them to do and they did their best.

Direct Energy representatives came to the house and said that they could cut my bill in half. I thought I would give it a try and I had a really good service from them so I signed up for another year. It's nice knowing that my bill is going to be what I think it's going to be and the two people I was dealing with were courteous, professional, and nice. I would definitely recommend them.

Having Direct Energy is economical. I knew nothing about electricity and then a very nice lady representative came about 2 years ago and gave me a spiel about how Direct Energy would save me money. I have a studio apartment and I don’t use a whole lot of electricity so I tried it. Now, my bill is 57 cents a month. I would recommend Direct Energy and tell others about my experience.

I’ve been with Direct Energy since I bought my house and they have made things easy. I would recommend it to somebody in the same situation as me with a lower family income needing a flat rate. That’s the biggest thing I like about it. They have a flat rate no matter what, whereas the rates of my local provider could fluctuate between winter and summer. But I didn't realize that the rates would go up to the regular premium after the contract ends. They went up way high and that freaked me out. I called their customer service and they got that issue fixed right away. They got me back down to a better price and I only had to wait for one billing cycle for the new price to take effect.

I got Direct Energy about 10 years ago. BGE is our normal provider and I’ve noticed a difference in the price with Direct Energy.

Direct Energy guaranteed a certain number of months that there would be no fluctuation in the price. Even though Consumers Energy is a little bit lower, they don't guarantee their rates for two years like Direct Energy does. So it's worth the extra 0.8 to go with them. I've had them for several years now and I wanted it to start at the beginning of the heating season because my other contract ended. But they said I had to wait a month so I was not real happy about that but that was the only thing. I talked to two different representatives and they were both very pleasant and very helpful in pointing out certain facts to me. It's only been running for a few months and my bills are a little lower so I'm grateful.

I have been with Direct Energy for a couple of years now. However, I got tricked into it. The salesperson led me to believe that I was still a Consumers Power customer, which I am. They are the provider of the gas that I’m getting now. When I found out that I was with Direct Energy, I asked, "How do I get back to Consumers Power?" They told me they worked with Consumers Power. I didn’t want to be bothered with trying to figure all that out, so I just stayed where it is.

I went with Direct Energy because they were the cheapest company around here. Now mind you I have called them and asked for info about them keeping my lights due to my daughter's condition of having a CPAP machine because she stops breathing 8 times in her sleep at night. I called them to let them know that my bill was 69.00 and that I didn't get paid until Sunday. They told me they were due to turn my lights off in a Wednesday. I asked if they could just hold off till I paid them Sunday. They inform me that there was nothing that they could do and that even after talking to a manager. They told me they couldn't do anything. That I could fill out a condition form for them to keep my lights on but that they was still going to turn them off. Now this month alone I have paid them 160.00 within a two week time span.
I paid my bill. Came home and my lights were off. I called and asked why. They told me I was short 20.00. I paid the 20.00 to receive another letter in the mail saying that I now owe 68.00. I come home yesterday to a letter saying I now owe 122.65 by March 22nd. Now mind you it's Wednesday. I have no lights, no place to go, no money and my daughter needs her CPAP machine tonight to sleep or she is not going to be breathing. That's why they only get 1 star because they didn't help a mother in need that is stressed to the max with a sick child.

I love Direct Energy. My sister begged me for a year to do Direct Energy and she said it'd be worth it. I now have them for about 4 years and my bill's a lot cheaper than on the others. I've also been trying to talk my friends into it but they won't listen to me, which was the same way I was with my sister. Now, my niece wants to know since she pays by so much a month with the way hers is set up.

I have yet to experience any cost savings with this company. They start you off at 2.79 Mcf for 12 months then you jump to 5.19Mcf. This is in addition to Consumers Energy supplier cost of 3.04, which they do not tell you about up front, they continually focus on the 2.79 Mcf to get you to bite. So really I am paying 7.55, CRAZY!!! I absolutely do not recommend doing business with Direct Energy.

Direct Energy seems seamless and the billing seems to be okay. But they could, in theory, be charging me more than our agreed upon amount. The reps were trying to be informative about what my commitments were and they did kind of go over how much time I had to resend the request and so forth.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for quite a while, and it was cheaper. So, I’m wondering now if I’m cheaper than Michigan, they’re giving 3% off on the gas bill. And I don’t know if they all are doing that for me and not because of the tax bill. If Michigan can give me 3%, Direct Energy should give me some 3% off, too. So far, I thought I was getting a better deal with them.
Nobody from Direct Energy has called me. They should call like if you’re in Michigan they should have got Consumer Energy here at Michigan to tell me, “Hey, you’re saving or you’re not saving.” That’s what they should really do. They got a customer and they should know what they're paying, would be paying in Michigan and what the difference they’re giving me. I’m a senior citizen and I’m on a fixed income. So that would be nice to know if it’s like that. Moreover, Direct Energy normally would give me a $25 or $50 to renew with them. This time I don’t know if they gave me $25 or not. They should give me $50 because I am going back with them. They're getting to keep a customer. Besides that and my recommendation for them to call me and tell me what Michigan is charging and what we’re charging, I haven't had a problem with them.

The fact that Direct Energy was going to get me a lower delivery charge was what sold me on it. They monitor my price and my utilities, and I can pay less money.

I've been using Direct Energy for years now and I haven't had any service interruptions. When I tried to change over, they tried to charge me $100 so I’m not going through that route again.

I'm looking over my electric bill the past few years and I don’t see why it's so high. The month that we didn’t use air conditioning at all it was still high. At the time I got it Direct Energy sounded good. I don’t know if it's the way they presented it and in the beginning I did see a change and then all of a sudden my gas went up and my electric went up. I'm thinking of canceling it.

Direct Energy is a nice and reliable company that is willing to help out if needed. We used DTE Energy previously and we had issues, but ever since we changed to Direct Energy, we haven't had any issues at all. We have spoken to their customer service team when the lights were flickering, and they were quick to respond. The lights aren't flickering anymore, too.

Direct Energy gave me a better understanding about how long my energy would last, so I went with them. I've been using their service for three years and my experience with them has been good. They have a good program and my energy bill has been lower. The reps have called and asked me if I liked what Direct Energy was doing and if I was satisfied with their product, and I said yes.

I have Pepco and I signed up with Direct Energy for my electricity supply. I like my electricity to be flowing well and without any interruption, and so far, I don't have any problems with Direct Energy.

I got lower bills with Direct Energy and I am happy about it. With PSE&G, I would’ve been billed 36.17 but with Direct Energy, my total bill was only 15.59 for a certain month. So, that was a nice difference and I got a similar rate every month. Everything is perfect, and I advise others to get Direct Energy.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for a while and I like them better than the company I previously had because, with Direct Energy, I was able to save a little more. They gave me a good deal when I switched to them. I like them for their service, too. While other people didn’t have electricity, like my neighbor at one time, I had electricity over at my house.

I signed up for Direct Energy and I gave them my public service account. They gave me an account and they swapped. But then they said it’s a hundred dollars monthly charge and a hundred dollars to cancel, so I cancelled. I love the concept but I didn't like the way their billing was, since I’m already paying about 32 dollars a month.

I was with Direct Energy for quite a while and it was on my Consumers Energy bill. However, a couple of months ago, I've seen Direct Energy charging me an ungodly amount per unit. So, I switched companies and I got the rate down from 8 to 3. I have to look at my bill again to make sure it went through and see what I’m paying. I would not recommend Direct Energy. I'd tell a friend to check around before they sign up with any company.

I compared Direct Energy's rates to what I was paying and at that time, it was lower. I pay my bills with them online through their menu, and once you do it once, they have your check number and your check on file. It’s easy and convenient.

We used to have New Hampshire Power and they give you an opportunity every a couple of years to pick somebody else. We do our comparisons once a year and we've changed a couple of times because we got big savings like one was for 18%. Direct Energy is too expensive for us because we’re on a retirement budget. But the service is as good as it can get and we've never had a problem. Even if they were a little bit more than the other guy, that’s not enough to change us over.
We've also had a good experience with the guy reading the meter. I talked to him a couple of times. He’s very polite and gentlemanly. Nobody wants to listen to an old man but he entertained me by listening to me. We have a 350-foot driveway and he doesn't even have to come down. He shoots his little gun down there on our meter and picks up the reading then he’s gone. We don’t have that hassle anymore so that was a good move. It’s a cost-saving move for them too.

Direct Energy was cheaper, but now it’s a little bit more than you can get from some other people. Also, I don’t see any difference with the price as I do with the National Grid.

I'm glad I switched over to Direct Energy years ago. A guy was walking up and down the street advertising for them. He came to my door, showed me what the company was offering and I liked the lower fee. It's been about seven years now that I've been sticking with them. The price has been perfect and they kept my gas bill down. That didn't happen right away but I eventually started noticing my gas bill was about $30 cheaper. I've been happy.
I have spoken a couple times with a few people from there as they've called me to make sure I was happy with their service and to see if I wanted to renew my contract them. And every time, I've renewed it. They've been very helpful and every time they called, they have been very thorough and polite. I'd recommend Direct Energy. I have told people before to switch over to the company and that they'd save them money on their gas bills.

Direct Energy was giving me the best introductory price so I went with them. However, I’m going to look probably for another one because it went up significantly. We’re still comparable with what’s in my area but it’s a lot more than what I was paying. But as far as the quality of the service, it’s fine. This is my third year with them. They are professional and efficient. Working with Direct Energy has been good and it's easy to manage. However, it would be better if they lower their price and give more incentive for people to stay with them.

The service from Direct Energy is good. I've never had any complaints. I take my payment automatically on the credit union every month. My electric is okay and I've never had them shut it off. Once in a while it goes out when a storm knocks the wires down but somebody goes out and they put it back on as soon as possible.

The people at Direct Energy I spoke with have been very helpful. But I'm not really happy with how my prices jacked up so much. I noticed that my pricing and my bills are significantly higher than usual at this time. I've had Direct Energy since I took over the bills when my mother passed away four years ago. And my electric bill usually goes down in the winter. But it went up from 40 bucks to $176 which is crazy. And I don't do anything different and don't use any space heaters a whole lot. As soon as I got the bill, I called and did some adjusting. Two months later, it's still really high. So I'm very dissatisfied and I wouldn't recommend them.

I was looking for a company that would take care of our electricity. I spoke with the people at Direct Energy and they gave me a very good rate. We have been with Direct Energy for a couple of years now. I like them and I’m very satisfied with them. Compared to other energy providers, our electricity bill is a lot lower with them. The reps have been very good and I haven't had any quarrels at all with them. As a matter of fact, when our year's contract with Direct Energy is up, we will go back with this company. I have also recommended them to my sister.

I've been using Direct Energy since I’ve been here, I got here in '71. I put the gas under them and I just wanted to heat my house so I wasn't that concerned about the price. There was another one company there when I went in. I spend a long time and they sent me a bunch of stuff but I didn't do their service because there was not that much difference in the prices. I was still going to save a couple of hundred bucks. Direct Energy gives me the gas, they tell me when my contract is up, and I sign up for another period. In fact, I just signed up for another term with them.

We had Direct Energy a couple of years ago and I did not know that our contract expired until they called me a couple of months ago and told me it had expired. It had expired for nine months and I did not realize it. So I re-upped on it and I've been with them for a few years now. Their rates were better compared to others. And, their reps were very good and very polite.
Working with Direct Energy was great. I have a 22-month contract this time but I would appreciate if they would call me before the next contract expires so I won’t have a gap. I have a quiet home with a lot of open ceilings. I have 12-foot ceilings and I have a lot of wasted heat until Direct Energy came. And compared to the rest of the houses around here, our energy bill is low compared to theirs.
Nobody answers their doors around here so when their reps came to the neighborhood, my husband went out with the kids that were coming around and knocking on the doors with them so the people would answer their doors. Their rates were great and because it is a good deal, the neighbor across the street had signed up for it. I have referred them to other people and they have used them too.

I'm a little confused with all this 5 stars reviews, I guess I was the unlucky one with Direct Energy. I moved into my house in 2011, ever since I moved in I've been using my local public utility company. I signed with Direct Energy for around 4 months. Obviously I just cancel and I would never ever go back. The result for me in those 4 months were 3 OF THE HIGHEST BILLS EVER including the highest bill and second highest I ever received. I'm not sure what went wrong, customer service was awful. The person I spoke to was nice but could not explain the bill at all. It looks to me like Direct Energy was charging me on top of my utility company.
It truly felt like I was been charge twice one by my utility company and then by Direct Energy. Here's the best part. My electric bill double while I was with Direct Energy. That's right. I have solar panels that make my electric bill almost nothing. Well it turned into something when I switched to Direct Energy. Make sure you do the math before you switch. Good luck to you all, I would recommend solar panels to every one. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DIRECT ENERGY TO ANYONE.

Somebody came to the house and that person was nice and told us about Direct Energy. At that time, the rate was very reasonable than it is right now. My year was up and so the rate went up. Now I have to know the prices. I don’t like the idea of the cost going up and down. They said if I don’t like it, I can call, choose, and see what the current rate is. And I don’t like that part as it’s a waste of time. Nonetheless, Direct Energy is all right and I didn’t have any problems with them.

I switched from Consumers Energy to Direct Energy for two reasons. The first reason was Direct gives a fixed rate, which I liked; and second was because they offered a service plan where I can get my heater and AC unit with it inspected. I called to set up an appointment to get the inspection and they said they were sending somebody out. But nobody ever came out. They then gave me the info of the company they said they were sending out but that company said that they weren't affiliated with Direct Energy in any way. So, Direct took all my information and said that they were going to get back in contact with me as soon as they figured out what was going on and what company was in my area that offered the service to do it. Still, they never got a hold of me and it's been about 3 months. So I'm not getting any benefit other than the fixed rate, which I can still do when I go to a different company. And I'm not very happy with Direct Energy at all.

When I married my husband, he had Direct Energy bills and I just took over them now that he passed away. I had trouble before when they didn’t send me a bill for a couple of months. I called their customer service about it and they were nice and helpful. Somebody said they didn’t do it because it’s not very big. I said I don’t care how big my bill is. I just want my bill every month and they started sending it to me. Then this last time, I got a really big bill. My bill has never been over $20.35 and they gave me a $74 bill. I called and told their rep about it. She said it doesn't seem sensible because my bill has never been like that.
I just gave them the $20.35 that I paid last month and I mailed it to them electronically so I don't have to pay any extra fee. Because if I wait for them to send me the bill, they will wait until the due date and then I have to pay that extra fee. My bill always runs about $20.35 because I have TV only at night for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Also, I’m all by myself and in the summertime, I hang my clothes outside, so I don’t even use the dryer.

Direct Energy was offering a deal with Nest Thermostat. You can get a Nest for free if you convert to Direct Energy as your provider. The previous provider was Eversource and the difference is Direct Energy was ahead on technology. You’re going to the site and be able to track certain things. So Direct Energy is much better because I could do that.
Their representative knew what I needed and they were very helpful. The only feedback I have is that at that time when I had to pay for the thermostat because I wanted to get an extra one, I had to do everything like send over the phone. I couldn’t pay with a credit card on the website and that wasn’t ideal either. But overall it has been great. I was able to switch and that made it very easy. The people knew the subject. I didn’t have to go around and explain what I was trying to do. They were really aware of what I was interested in. And then you have the perks of getting a Nest Thermostat, which is one of the great things that anybody should take advantage. I’ll recommend them.

Direct Energy always renews my rate. I’ve been using them for eight years and my rate increased twice. I always had a phone call before then telling me my contract was up and to let them know if I want to continue or which I want to do. Direct Energy's rates have been better than they can offer for what we did in the winter time. A lot of people say I'll pay more in the summer when I do in the winter when I use less. But I will gladly pay a little bit more in the summer to make sure in the winter I’m not paying $97 a month.
I had gotten a letter the last time and forgot about it. And the service was not automatically renewed and got terminated. I called them up and they got me on a plan, got me set up for a two-year contract, and everything was good. The person I spoke with over the phone was really nice and any questions I had, she was able to answer. The price jumped $1 this time which was unusual but she said it is because of the disconnection and service fees have been so low. But it’s okay. At any time I have an issue, they’re always willing to make it right. It’s definitely worth it.

Direct Energy was going around by the houses, and at the time, it was cheaper and we wouldn’t be stuck at any contract, so I switched. I’ve always had good interactions with Direct Energy, and anytime I’ve talked to them, they’ve been really good. However, I’m not happy that Consumers Energy has been calling me saying that they can save me a dollar on my gas. I used to think that the cost was much better with Direct Energy until Consumers called.

Someone from Direct Energy came to the front door a few years ago and I signed up with them. My regular provider was higher so I stayed with Direct Energy. I have been using them quite a bit and then all of a sudden, I realize I was paying a lot more than normal than what the utility company was charging. So I got back with them and they gave me a $50 debit card and lowered that rate down to what it was supposed to be. When I went through that with their rep, the dealings I’ve had with him had been perfectly all right and it worked out to my benefit. The service was fine so far and I’d recommend them.

Consumers is local around here, and I called them and asked what their rate was. They could not guarantee me a rate, but Direct Energy could. Direct Energy's rate was also far less. It’s not so hard to make ends meet when your bill is a little bit cheaper, and working with them helps. I would definitely recommend and I have mentioned Direct Energy to other people who are complaining about their bills.

Direct Energy's gas rates might be better off than going directly through consumers. It was until the contract ran out and I was not advised that it had run out. Then the gas rate went significantly higher in three or four months and I called them and got back into the lower rate. Interaction with them was fine. I told them and said, “What's going on?” And they said, “We sent you mailing”. And I said, “I don’t believe I got it”. And they said, “You should have”. I don’t know if I even got it or not, but they took care of it and everything was fine. We've renewed the contract with them and started over again. It is a service that appears to provide a lesser rate than what I was getting elsewhere and I went with it, so I don't know if I would recommend them, but, on the other hand, I certainly wouldn't not recommend them.

Direct Energy offered me a lock-in on a gas rate that was cheaper than what Consumers was going to be. But they called and kicked me off because I didn’t know that it didn’t automatically roll over for the next year. I got put back in Consumers’ fluctuating rate because I didn’t lock in. It irritated me that they didn’t let me know that that was going to happen. They should also check in every once in a while. Now I know I have to re-up every year with Direct Energy which is stupid. I've been with them for four years now. Why wouldn’t I want to stay with them unless I wanted to leave? But that’s their choice.

I'm getting the best rates from Direct Energy up until this last contract. But now it's not good. The rates went up. The contract was supposed to be ending in December and they sent me a letter in August saying that it’s automatically going to be a certain price and if I don’t do anything, it would be that. I kept monitoring and calling every month to see if I’m still getting better rates from what the normal rate is and I’m disappointed with the rates going up. You would think with all these drillings they’re doing and all these gas glut they talk about that they have, rates won’t be going up.

Direct Energy sucks. When I signed up I was told I could cancel at any time. Now when I tried to cancel I was told there would be a 99$ cancellation fee for both accounts which is not what I was told. I just dont want their service anymore and was told I'm stuck with them for 17 months. I never should have signed up with this company.

I renewed my contract with Direct Energy which lower the price on per unit. But my gas usage has been extremely high ever since the new gas meter was put in. My usage has been four and a half times higher than last year. And Consumers was supposed to call me back because I have concerns about whether it has to do with a new gas meter. I don’t know if that has to do with the quality of the gas that was coming through. It seems to me like the flame is yellower than what it normally has been in previous years.

I looked into the various alternatives and there was none so we went with Direct Energy. They've done everything that they said they were going to do. They were also very forthright in terms of reducing my rate, as well as giving me a discount which I appreciated. So I hope to see a reduction in my second bill.

I had Pepco before which was more expensive and I didn’t get the terms I wanted with the length and service. But with Direct Energy, it worked really nice. I would recommend them to my friends based on what I reviewed and decided to do myself and the things that I’ve seen. They're very competitive with everybody else and their service is reputed to be good.

I like Direct Energy. All my bills have been cut lower and they’re doing great. My bill has been pretty well affordable and I get extra earnings so my bills could be met. I didn't want anything else to change. The Direct Energy team was pretty precise and straight to the point. I listened to them and realized how my bill was doing through month and I wanted to keep this program where I would be getting a bill where I can afford. My bill is going to be cut even more because I'm getting appliances in that save energy. It's hard to save energy because these condos were built in the '90s and I lived in a home that was over 100 years old and it had stronger floors on it than these houses they got today. They stuff these places up so quick and it's like heat in the inside, cool in the outside with these walls because they need insulation built in them. I would tell others to get Direct Energy.

I used to be with Direct Energy, and then I switched to Michigan Consolidated, then I switched back with Direct. I called them and they compared rates with me. They were very courteous. They gave me a better rate and put me on a fixed term. I was very satisfied.

I shopped around on a website that showed all the different providers. At the time, Direct Energy had the lowest rates and they threw in a Mastercard bonus. I was with PPL before and they were fine. It was all about the rate until Direct Energy went to a variable rate and never notified me. That made me mad. It made my electricity sky-high. I finally caught it after I heard there was a lot of scamming going on with the electric company and elderly people. I called them and they ticked me off. I got another incentive because they gave me a Mastercard gift card, so I stayed. And I make sure I call every year. I shop for the cheapest and they’re always right there with the same rate.

I told Direct Energy that I’m on a fixed income and I was promised that they will lower my bill. But it seemed I’m paying the same thing. It’s confusing. I get my bill, I pay it, and I’ve been turning my gas up a little bit because it has been colder this last few months, so I assumed that was why my bill had been a little higher. They did tell me though that it would be a couple of months when the cut would be in effect and this is just the second month. I spoke with their customer service a couple of months ago and it seemed legal and legit. Overall, it has been a fair experience. I understand why my bill is the way it is this month.

We had a different provider and the rates were so high. I wanted to change but if I did before the year was up, I would have gotten fined $100. So when the year was up, I got rid of that one and switched to Direct Energy. I have them for three years now. Then I got a letter saying that my contract was up and that if I wanted to change to somebody else, then I had to do it within a certain length of time. So I called them to renew and their reps were fine.

I chose to be with Direct Energy because the price of gas would be stable so I didn't have to worry about the price of gas going up or down. We're having an extremely cold winter where I'm at in Michigan so I'm glad to have the gas. I own two houses and both houses I have the same Direct Energy. They're working great. My electric bill was a little less.

I have had nothing but trouble with customer service, It is ridiculous! All I want to do is pay my Bills, it took them 6 months, and 6 customer service people before it was actually changed, I have had nothing but trouble, I would like to know the person everyone else is talking with in Customer so I too can talk to someone who will help! Because so far I have not found a single person. How hard should it be to set up auto pay? I WOULD LOVE SOMEONE TO CONTACT FROM THIS COMPANY AND HELP ME, and I am in the process and looking for another provider, I do not care if they cost more as long as they have someone who is actually capable of helping me.

I was doing all kinds of homework on the computer with comparing rates, and I saw the rate of Direct Energy was better. And it’s good for six months. I like that if I wanted to pull out, I wouldn’t have a penalty charge. So far, my experience has been good. Look into Direct Energy and see if you could save some money.

Somebody came to the door from Direct Energy. She had papers with her and she showed that Direct Energy has a better rate for the whole year. And when I got the bill there were savings. I would tell a friend to definitely give them a shot because it worked for me. There are other companies out there that do offer that as far as I'm concerned gets confusing because when you get your bill, you're getting charged for this and charged for that. Usually when they come to house to house like that I just close the door. But that day with Direct Energy I didn't.

Some gentlemen from Direct Energy came to the house and were very nice and very informative. The rate was good at the time and up till now we’re still satisfied with it. Direct Energy has been better for us financially. Everything was really good. We’re very happy with them and plan on staying. I have told one friend that she should really check in to it and that the rate is very good.

Direct Energy had a little better price when I investigated. I also found that there’s even better programs but I’m sticking with them at this point. I used to have the normal service provider and nothing has changed other than the rate. It's not a great deal of savings but it is a savings and that’s what we’re all looking for since we’re all trying to save a dollar. Plus, everything has been very pleasant dealing with Direct. I’m happy with them so far and I hope to continue business with them. I have been using Direct Energy for 3 years now and I’ve already recommended them to other people.

When I received my bill this companies representatives assured me they would not be a 3rd party on my monthly bill. I received my first bill and not only were they a 3rd party but they are charging me more than my original utility company. When I contacted the Direct Energy to be removed their answer was, "We will waive the cancellation fee." At this point I am lost because the representative that knocked at my door told me that I could cancel at any time without a fee or a problem. Now this person on the phone is telling me it is a cancellation fee. So I called to cancel them from my bill six days in on the new bill cycle.
The representative on the phone tells me to contact my original utility company and they will be off my bill. I contacted them as soon as I hung up the phone and they said, "Ok". I receive my new bill and guess who is still on here and charging me 2 times more the amount. Yes Direct energy and now when I call to complain this new representative says oh it takes 3 months to stop. Why would that be when if I call my original utility company to tell them to shut me off they will do it within the hour so why is Direct Energy still overcharging me for 3 months more. This company is fraudulent and scamming people for their money. Now the BBB company is saying they are out of their area. But when I emailed BBB last month they were able to get in contact with them. Now a month later they cannot. This is ridiculous and I just want all of my money returned.

We have noticed some differences, usually when we have our swimming pool running in the summer. I’m a senior and have been ill for 3 weeks with bronchitis and the flu. My service was disconnected at 6:30 this morning when it was 10 degrees at my home. I’ve always paid my bill but because of being sick I was 2 weeks late. I did not get a disconnect notice or phone call. My account is noted that I’m a senior. I’ve been very ill and to disconnect without any notice could have been a fatal mistake for me.

Direct Energy’s price was better than my previous provider’s when I made the decision to go with them. North American came and said that they were a little higher, but they were giving a $100 gift certificate. But I didn't bother with them. Direct Energy's rate was also important for the last couple of years and is the driving force right now. Whenever I had to speak with their customer service, for example when I was making changes, everything was fine.

I rushed to gas from electric via Direct Energy. They bettered my rate at Energenie and everything else is pretty transparent. I have some confidence that when I deal with them, I'm getting a good rate for that upgrade. When I called them to renew, their reps have been helpful but I had to spend a lot of time on the phone to get it done.

Our Public Utilities Commission puts out a list of qualified energy suppliers and Direct Energy was part of the list, and after comparing rates I went with them. You just sign-up, and billing is handled. This is my second year in the contract. We had an enrollment issue last year because they do things a little different there. For example, we have two electric meters, one for our lights and power, and the other one services our heat and hot water. Most suppliers, when you sign up with them, both meters get enrolled at the same time. With Direct Energy, we had to enroll the two separate meters separately. I think it actually ends up being two separate accounts according to them. So, there was just a little snafu in enrollment but they took care of it and everything went fine. Moreover, we have more financial savings over other suppliers.

We've had Direct Energy for several years now. We were using ComEd before and Direct Energy rates was lower. The transition from ComEd to Direct was smooth. We haven't had any issues with Direct Energy and my bills are lower. I would recommend them.

My electric bill kept going up and I knew that with Direct Energy, it would be static. Once they set a rate, it stays the same. They have been consistent and there has not been any lax in service. They're doing a great job and they should keep it up and do whatever they can to maintain their customer base. This is my second year with them and I have not had any problems with Direct Energy. I’m a happy customer and as long as things stay reasonable, I’ll stay with them. I have told several people about them and hopefully, those people have signed up like I did.

Direct Energy is the worst energy company ever! Every month and I do mean every month we have to call them due to errors, huge errors, on our bill. They refuse to ever fix their mistakes. They also will hit your credit card without your authorization. Do Not Use Direct! The website is always shows incorrect information and they refuse to ever honor their errors. Scam artists big time.

My husband used to be employed by Direct Energy and we switched over to them from our previous provider because of their rate and their service was going to be a lot better. It was also more convenient. So far, Direct Energy is more efficient, too, price-wise. We have them for less than a year now. When I called in to ask about a bill, their reps were very helpful and followed up on what they needed to follow up. They also provided additional information that would benefit me.

Direct Energy's rate was lower then so I went with them. I get my gas and my bills every month, and I haven't had any problems with them. They increased their rates though and their reps told me that if I was not satisfied, I should try some other companies. I suggest that they let us know before the contract runs out what the new rate is going to be because they waited until the last minute to tell us. Nevertheless, I'd recommend others to go with them.

Direct Energy called and told me their rate was going to be lower than a regular electric and it was a set rate so, I figured I'd try them. When I initially set up with them, they called me and asked me a few questions. Their customer service was fine and their reps were very nice. However, I paid about $80 more for them than my regular electric. I couldn't afford the extra almost hundred bucks a month. I tried it and it didn’t work out for me so I canceled. I'm dissatisfied and I would not recommend them to anybody.

We have had Direct Energy in the past and I didn't have any issues. And here, they offered the best rate. However they were to call a month before the contract expires and sometimes they forget. I got caught one time at the end of contract date during the winter time. I had to pay them 10$ for CFM until I could get reinstated. Also I talked to Teresa and they had said something about sending me a $50 gift card before I cancel the Surge Plan but I never received that. I didn't sign up for that plan but the cancellation fee was $30 which I didn't like. I'll be calling them 45 days before my contract expires to check their rates. I want to stick with the company I am familiar with.

Direct Energy sent me a letter and they're supposed to be so many kilowatts cheaper. I got along with their team but they keep on shoving lower prices and then they try to penalize me when I take them. They try to penalize me for leaving and going back to where I was. Now, I’m paying higher bills at $68 a month, and they lied to me. I’m sick and tired of the bills and the promotions over the phone.

We have lower monthly bills with Direct Energy and had no problems when I call them to renegotiate the price every year.

We researched on the web and Direct Energy was the only company we found that would do a ground mount. We had National Grid but we’re not totally off the grid so we still have them and they are comparable. The only difference is, now, I don’t have a bill.

Direct Energy was less expensive compared to our previous provider so we decided to go with them. However, we've lost the heat and we've been without it for about a week. But we have it restored. Up until then, I have more money working with them.

Direct Energy said the rates would stay the same but it would make a big difference on my gas bill. At first, they were great and there was a difference, but not so much now as it is a little higher.

Direct Energy offered better prices when they came to our door. For the last 3 months I have paid over 130 dollars to Direct Energy. They say that they are just switching the provider but comparing they starting charging me to the previous month, I had consumed less gas and paid over 20 dollars more with their energy provider. I dont understand why so many nice reviews for this company when they are just like all other companies out there. I am happy to provide evidence of this if needed.

I’m retired and on a fixed income. Every dollar I can save really helps. I get electricity from Direct Energy and it was cheaper than Eversource. Everything else seems to be going up and I’m happy with Direct Energy's rate and it is locked in for a year. I hope they’ll keep their rate lower than the others, especially for people in our area. We got this extreme cold and we’re using more electricity. I’m perfectly happy with Direct Energy.

I used to have a different company that was bought out by Direct Energy and the services provided since the switch have been the same. I only called their team once and they did the job. Use Direct Energy if you can.

We're happy with Direct Energy. They are probably cheaper than anybody. They're $8.39, which is way down below every source. They took care of the service being set up. I called them and then they took it from there on. They told us how much it would be and then they wouldn’t go off for 12 months. We’re with Direct Energy for 18 months now as we resigned with them again. We're locked in for a year but there was no contract. We can get out anytime we want. Unlike the other company where we had to stay during the duration of the contract and needed to pay $100 to get off. Since we're retired and on a fixed income it helps that Direct Energy is cheaper and the distribution is so way up high so we still save some money. I'm happy just the way it is. I would recommend Direct Energy.

I've been here almost 20 years and in the time that I've been here, it's always been Direct Energy. The very few times I’ve had to talk with them on the phone, they've been fine. Before my husband and I got married, I was here handling some of the things because my name wasn't on the account. They wouldn't talk to me, which was cool. It's frustrating as the adult and the spouse in the house because you want to get something done, but I totally respect the fact that they are respecting his privacy and our privacy, and I appreciate that. Once my name was put on the bill, it was okay for them to talk to me.
The only problem I have had with Direct Energy was that they had someone come around over the past summer cutting down the trees that were hanging close to the wires. They took down one of our trees that didn't need to come all the way down and then left it lying in our driveway. But, after a little bit of talking back and forth, they came and took care of the problem. They've not ripped us off, and hopefully we’ve not ripped them off. We've had very few problems, so we'd recommend them.

I had an excellent experience with the company I used prior to using Direct Energy. Massachusetts caused some problems which they usually do, and the company I had before Direct Energy was very good at working the issues out for me. But I also haven't had issues at all with Direct Energy. I would have stayed with the previous company except Direct Energy had a significantly lower Kilowatt hour price at the time I switched to them. But since I've been with Direct Energy, I've had an excellent experience with them. And I stayed with them even though they were a couple of cents higher now than some of the competitors. The Direct Energy team has been everything that I expected and more. They listened to my question and answered it and then they shared information with me that I didn't ask for.

We've gone through several companies and Direct Energy has been transparent like all the other companies we've had because Columbia Gas controls the pipes and the billing. Initially, my wife accepted one of the contracts with Direct Energy when they called because they had a better price. So far, we've been getting the volume of gas that we need on time so we've not had any issues and we've not had to call Direct Energy for any problems, which is a good thing.

I took Direct Energy at their word that we're getting slightly cheaper electricity. I had a long conversation with their representative when we first signed up. He was helpful and courteous. And other than that, they sent us a Nest for free as part of the initial offering. It's a thermostat that you set and it gets your patterns when you come in and turn on your furnace. However, it never worked.

I've had Direct Energy before. I went with them because the rate offer that they had was for a longer period of time and it was appropriate, so I didn't want to have to change every three months. I've been happy with them. They've opted out of the Plenti Program which was a very nice feature that they had. Their team has been wonderful as well. They are very explicit in explaining their product and their rates. They're very open about the changes in the rates and when the billing cycles are. They're very good about telling about programs that they belong, to which is really nice. Because I didn't know until I signed up that they were even involved with Plenti. I've never had a nasty conversation with anybody. Once it is set up, it is easy. My experiences have been all positive.

I was with PPL but I switched over to Direct Energy because of the price. Everything, even the customer service, was fine with Direct Energy. I've had them for years and even though everybody goes online and looks at rates, I still tell my friends that Direct Energy's still the best and that they stay the same.

I’ve been with Direct for quite a while and compared to our previous provider, Direct is always cheaper than the rest of them. Whenever I talk to their reps when they call us and tell their price, they’re always nice and tried to explain everything to me. The other companies started to hound us and trying to get us to switch over. But I’m satisfied where I’m at and I’ve always had good experience with Direct.

I was with somebody else before and I received a quote from Direct Energy and I called them. I was just switching around. I'm not the type of person to stay with a company because they're there. I do whatever's going to benefit me. I switched to them then because of their price. I never really researched the gas that much and I just followed suit with the gas and I really messed up on that because South Jersey Gas is lower than any company. Also, South Jersey Gas puts in their bill what you could have saved for the month if you were with them. In fact, last month I could have saved $35. I called Direct Energy and I said I got to drop the gas because I'm losing $8 and $10 a month on my gas bills. I'm not going to keep losing money so I dropped them on the gas. So as of February 1st, I'm not with them anymore. Now, I'm going to drop them on electric too because I got solar about six months ago.
Direct Energy calls me up when my contract is up or when they tell me that I have the service for 18 months and that I need to keep on top of that because it takes two months to get changed over and they'll charge me whatever the variable rate is at that point. One-time, I did get a big jump so I contacted Direct Energy. I didn't catch it in time and there was a jump up. Instead of contacting me and telling me, they just increased me. Nonetheless, I don't know what the deal was but it's my responsibility to know what's going on.

I like Direct Energy. They do what they are supposed to do and they are the cheapest. Their prices went up a little bit, but National Grid is still a whopping 19 cents a kilowatt hour compared to 10 cents with Direct Energy and other providers out there. I use 40-kilowatt hours a day here. The whole house is on electricity, and I'm getting bills anywhere from $250 to $300 a month.
I call the team at Direct Energy when the contract runs out or they get in touch with me and ask me if I want to renew or they automatically renew if I don't do anything. If I change from Direct Energy to some other seller of electricity, it gets complicated because the energy companies that sell the energy like Direct Energy have to get in touch with National Grid, which is the supplier. They only accept applications at certain hours of the day. I missed a billing cycle of the month, and I ended up having to stay with National Grid for a whole billing cycle before I got changed over to 8 cents per kilowatt-hour. National Grid holds the keys to everything.

Direct Energy has been great. I had Public Service Electric & Gas, and then I went with Direct Energy. They're a little bit cheaper than Public Service. Their team answered my questions and they were very polite and courteous and they explained everything. They notify me when it's time to renew the thing again and get a lower rate. In the beginning, I took Direct Energy because the electrical kilowatt rates were rising rapidly. Their service is great and I've already recommended them to my daughter and my son. When I spoke to the gentleman in customer service he understood my sense of urgency and was very helpful. I had a very high electric bill and was under the impression I was still under this other program. When I called Direct Energy, the gentleman said, “No it had lapsed a while back and you might not have read the letters." He wasn't pointing fingers. He was very friendly and he set me right up. And before I knew it, I was back at the rate that I really like. It made me more conscious to keep an eye on it. But I would really like it if they can send a postcard of a reminder, or a sticker we could put on the calendar or something we could put on our fridge.

I used to have the old Public Service of New Hampshire. Then something showed up in the mail about Direct Energy. I did some internet research and I contacted them. They had a lower cost and I decided to go with them. I set everything up all over the internet. There was a little bit of correspondence, back and forth, and it was pretty seamless. I have them for a little over a year now and compared to my previous provider, Direct Energy is pretty invisible. All I get is a bill at the end of the month and I pay it. They're a good company to deal with and I'd recommend them. I'd tell my friends that if they're currently dealing with Eversource directly, they should at least go look at Direct Energy for potential savings.

Direct Energy has a cheaper rate than what I was paying. However, it would be nice if the actual bill would state when the contract would expire. Because one time, my contract ran out and I didn’t know. They told me they've sent me a letter but I get so much junk mail and I only pay attention to my electric bill. But overall, it has been a good experience with them.

When initially when I started with Direct Energy, I thought, "Well let me try it and see how my bill looks." The other companies that I called didn't give me any explanations. When I asked them questions, they were like, "It's in the letter." And I was like, "I don't know how to read my bill so that's not helping me." Direct Energy explained better and were a little more user-friendly. I did try it for six months and I saw that I was saving. Also, I haven't had any blackouts. I called their team about my budget and they were very user-friendly as well. I like to know how much I have to pay every month instead of trying to guesstimate. Everybody's been professional, very nice and helpful. I work in customer service for 38 years and you don't tell somebody that's a stupid question if they call. They have always been very nice and I got the quality of customer service that I like to give. It's been great.

I told Direct Energy customer service that I was going to get rid of them and they didn’t want me to do that. But they were fine. They lowered the rate, but they do that for a specified time and it’s up to you to pay attention and you got to call and find out when the rate goes up. So, if you don’t want that, then you’d go to somebody else or have them give you a lower rate.

Direct Energy told me the rate would be lower but I didn't see any reduced rate at all. The rate is higher and I was very disappointed in them. I spoke to a representative about a month ago and she was very nice and told me she would send a $25 check that I could either put towards my bill or cash. But I never received anything and I got a bill for $88 today. I'm all by myself and I don't use that much electricity. It used to be about $40 something before when I was with National Grid but it's doubled now. So, in May I’m going to cancel and go with another company.

We were on Direct Energy a couple years ago and we signed up again. We enjoyed the $50 gift card that came with it. We liked their price. They weren't the lowest but we considered them stable. Their reps have all been pleasant and helpful, too. We'd tell others to give Direct Energy a chance, investigate their prices, and switch.

I like Direct Energy. They give me good rates. I get really low bill from them. I've been with them for a number of years now and they keep offering me better and better rates every year. I usually only have to talk to their rep once a year to renew my contract and locking in a new rate. I actually recommended them to some family members and friends. Consumers Energy is our local supplier here and I told them that if they pay attention to their bill in the wintertime, they have a variable rate and it goes up when the consumer uses a lot. I'm locked in with my gas prices year-round. I might not be saving much in the summertime when their rates are lower. But we use a lot more gas in the winter than I do in the summer so that really is affecting my cost.

I'm having a lot of problems with my gas bill with Direct Energy. It showed I used about 588% increase from my bill from the previous August and my gas usage is about five times from what it was in the coldest month of February. I've been dealing with this since and I still haven't got the correct gas bill yet. I got a phone call the other day and the rep said a meter reader is coming out in the area. But there was something definitely going on because my gas bill has been $200 for August and my highest bill last year in the winter month was $150. I can't wait to see my next bill and see what that one says. Hopefully, I'll get it straightened out.
I've contacted the Direct Energy reps every month. They say they got a claim open on my account. But they said they're looking into it and will have someone back out here. I talked to a representative and he said, “The money you paid, you're probably covered for a couple of months because your usage is low in August and September." Here it is December, my gas bill was $780 retro, compiling up. He said, “Don’t worry about that. Don't pay anything," and I said, “I don't want to get a shut-off notice." If my issues don't get resolved this time, I'm going to call the gas company and tell them I got a gas leak somewhere then that'll get someone's attention. They said it may be a faulty meter and then I heard they were going to be changing some of our meters out in our area. I still have my old meter and I've been watching that. Other than this gas thing, it's been fine.

I have Direct Energy's electrical service. And I took them because they were offering 9.9 on their Kilowatt, and I locked it in. I get a flicker often but other than that, I haven't had any blackout. The service is fine. And the team at Direct Energy has been very good. They answered my questions and they've been very courteous. I had recently called them because the young lady I had spoken to told me to call in in December and said there might be a chance that the rates have changed. But what I didn't know was that the rates had gone up slightly already and I was advised to call in the spring or in the early fall to see if there was a chance that the rates were going to change.

A door-to-door salesman told me about Direct Energy. So far, everything is fine. Their team was very informative and they explained everything thoroughly. I understood everything that they told me and I was comfortable with them. Everyone has been fine at Direct Energy. It does the job and they have lower rates, that's why I'm using them. With this type of business, that’s all that matters to me. I'm satisfied and I’d recommend them. But if they don’t have lower rates compared to everyone else, then I wouldn't recommend them.

I have been with Direct Energy for a couple of years now and I am satisfied with them. I have switched over to them from my previous provider because their rates were good. And I noticed a savings from it. I have called their representatives to set up a rate and to make sure their rates are decent. I'd recommend Direct Energy.

I had NYSEG years ago and although the service is the same, Direct Energy's prices were lower. But I didn't like that they changed my price without really telling me that they were going to do it. And I had to pay a high bill for two months. I had to get a change so that I got the lower price. And the rep that I spoke with was good.

I like the way I can keep calling Direct Energy at any time. It's like gambling with the stock market. If I get to call at a certain time and if the rate is good, I take it. I can also call and get the rates down at any time. They also gave me some type of a reward three times. I like the rates and when I like something, I don't like switching. My bills aren't as high as they were. The rates make a big difference and I'm down to a good one. I got a lower rate than what I did the last 12 months and this one should take place this January. I will be calling Direct Energy to see about that.
The representatives are very courteous too and they help me. They call me back and they tell me when I could call to check as far as the rates like if it's the one that I picked at that time and if it's going to be lower than the one that I have. If I don't like the rate, I'd call back in a month. I'm comfortable with them. Other people have called but I told them, "I'm with Direct Energy and I prefer that. So no, thank you." I'm so used to them that it's like clockwork. And when somehow someone cut me off of Direct Energy and I found out that I was put in some other one, I told them I have Direct Energy and that I've been in it for years.
For the last three years, I have all of my different rates where I look at them and see how it went out throughout the years. Right now I've got from October 2017 when I called them all the way up until January. I have a stack of them behind my computer for the last two years so I keep up with them. My money is programmed. I tried to recommend to other people to Direct Energy and I’m going to suggest it to my daughter one time. She's moving into a new apartment.

I've been with Direct Energy for a short period of time. I got something in the mail, and then when I called up the provider that I had, I mentioned Direct Energy to them and we went from there. I spoke to their team one time and it went fine. They were professional.

Direct Energy has decent rates and I call them once in a while to make sure it is one of the best rates and that they are running any promotions and stuff. They're very friendly.

Somebody from Direct Energy came to the house and explained their service to me, and I showed her the bills which changed every week and every month. During winter I’m paying more money than I am in the summer months, and she said I could get them for a flat rate. Now I have a lower rate and I just renewed their service this year. The last time somebody came out here was to check if my fireplace was leaking gas, but the rep said there wasn’t anything wrong with it. She was very nice. I haven’t had any problem with them at all and so far, they’ve been great. As long as it stays a flat rate for a year or two, I might not change at all. The one time that the rate went up a dollar, that was a lot of money. But when they called this year, the thing went down a dollar or $.075, so it’s okay.

What I don't like about Direct Energy is that they don't come and read the meter every month. They told me that it's because they don't have the manpower for that. So they come one month and they estimate the bill the next month. But you have the privilege of going outside and reading your own meter and whatever number you come up with, you can submit that to them and they make the adjustments on it. However, it was a pain in the neck since the numbers are tiny and it's hard to read. I did it one time and I ended up putting more than what I was using. They adjusted it but it was still $100 more. So they went over how to read it and readjusted it again.
I wanted to have a lower rate so I asked them for a fixed rate, at least for the electricity. I was able to lock in a rate for the electricity for 18 months. I was also trying to figure out how to get a fixed rate on the gas, but I was going to end up paying more than paying month to month, so I left it alone. They charge me $100 a month, sometimes $25 less, and $50 of that comes from their delivery fee and taxes.

I was with Direct Energy and then I was without them. I’ve been jumping around because I can’t find anything that’s any better than the other. That’s the same thing with the other utilities. I'm satisfied where I am and I'm not going to make any changes right now because we’re not really saving anything on energy. Everybody’s just at the mercy of the utility companies. Direct Energy raises their prices at their convenience. With all the resources that they’ve come up with and yet the average person isn’t saving any money. I wouldn’t recommend Direct Energy.

Direct Energy's service is good but they try to keep raising the rate all the time. I always look for a better rate but they still keep raising me. I speak to their reps when I call them about what my rates are going to be for the next year. Once in a while, I would get an operator that can hardly speak English. The reps treated me well but I couldn’t understand them. I suggest having a lower rate for senior citizens because we are all on a very limited budget. We didn’t make the money that everybody’s making nowadays and a lot of us don’t even have pensions, so that hurts a bit. If Direct Energy can do anything about it, that would help and I would appreciate that.

We went to Direct Energy because of their price. And although we didn’t have problem we found somebody cheaper so we switched but if they lower their price we will be a returning customer.

We use Direct Energy for electricity and for gas and they represent us as far as giving us the best deal in electricity. We had a different provider in the past, but we got a better rate from Direct Energy, and they’ve been very friendly and helpful. I have a contract with them until next year, and when I redo it, I’d get new rates, and I've got the confirmation letter as far as that goes. Maybe they could have better deals or cheaper rates, but I’m very satisfied with Direct Energy.
