When my energy contract came up, I checked around and looked for a better price. Direct Energy had really good prices so I went with them. Since then I've had them at our home and I also got my mother hooked up on it. My price has been cheaper than when I was with the other provider. Also, I’ve had good experiences with the team at Direct Energy. I don’t have to call them very much and I do all my things online through the website. However, I can’t get on the website sometimes, but when I can, it has been fine.

I love Direct Energy's price and service. I'm older and using their service makes it a lot easier for me. I don't have to worry nor let people in my house to do anything. I try to stay with them every year and I don't even need to call to do that.

I had another provider before Direct Energy when I was in a different town and my bill’s a whole lot higher now. I paid like $500 last month. It’s been hot in the summer so I figured the bill would be higher. I just didn’t realize it would be that much higher. I’ve been with Direct Energy for so long and I always hear about rate plans, specials and stuff but I don’t think I'm getting them. But when the power would go out, they would say how long it would be out and that they would try to fix it by such time.

Direct Energy had a low rate and their reps were very respectable. They helped me out and explained the rates, and I never had a problem at all with every person I’ve spoken to. I tried to use a different provider in the past and their rep didn’t explain to me that I was gonna be on a contract. I cancelled them right away once I got the paperwork from the mail. Then I went right back to Direct Energy. I am disabled and I’m sick, and New York State keeps on raising everything and Direct Energy helps me out. I'd tell others to go with them, too. I hope Direct will take over National Grid.

Direct Energy seemed less expensive than anybody else. The rep told us we were gonna get 5.4 and it wasn't gonna go up, and that there were no hidden fees. However, there was a $12 a month charge for something that he told us that wasn't gonna be there but it was there, so I wasn't too happy about that. I don't like to be lied to. I contacted their customer service about that, but there was nothing they could do.
The 5.4 ended in May, we were on a three-year contract with them. I looked around and they're not a 5.4 anymore, it's a 7.6. So, I renewed with them because everybody else is a 9.9 and 7.6 on paper looks better than 9.9. Renewing the service was simple. They called me, went over some stuff, and read me some disclaimers, and I said, "Let's do it." We signed in for another 24 months. The way the rep explained it to me was that it's 7.6. But if for some reason, it goes down to six, then we can call them and tell them I wanna adjust my contract to 6.0 or whatever it is now. I'd have to keep an eye on the market, see what's it doing.

We thought we could get a better rate with Direct Energy. And when we were with them, they sent us our bill and we paid it. Their reps have also been friendly and knowledgeable. Once, I called them and asked why our electric bill went so high and they explained that it was the six-month thing and we had been using more electricity. We were happy with Direct Energy. However, we changed to ComEd because their rates are lower.

A rep from Direct Energy came to the door one day talking about my price was gonna go up with National Grid and I have to sign a contract to stay at the same price. The rep was a little persistent. I was in the middle of trying to cook for my friend's communion party and it was like she had to have it done then and there. But she was very nice. Then, a month later, I received a letter from Direct Energy and I've had them for about a year now. I called to renew the policy and it was easy. There was no wait.

Direct Energy has the best price at the time I went with them. I've been with them since 2013 and it was pretty easy renewing. They just called me and I was done within a minute. However, they didn't go into very much detail about all of the specifics on the plan. Maybe they could take a little more time to explain how everything works.

Signing up for Direct Energy's service was very simple and lovely. I’ve had it for so long and I’m grateful that I can turn on the air conditioner and have a comfortable life and I’m able to pay my bills. And that’s the most important thing to me. A few years ago, I got hammered by somebody to change and I did and I got hammered with the bill. I broke the contract. It didn’t make any sense. I have Direct now and I will stay with Direct whether they may be a little cheaper or higher because I don’t want to go through that anymore. As long as they’re able to give me the service I need, I’m happy or satisfied.

I was with TXU before and the bills were much lower with Direct Energy. I’ve recommended Direct Energy and you can get better kilowatt usage if you would switch over to them. I’ve had several family members who did so.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for five years. I had somebody else before them but they called me and said that they were cheaper, so I switched. So far, I’ve been getting calls from other companies saying that their price is now down to around 40 cents. But I have it at 44.9 with Direct Energy and I'd like to get the price cheaper if I could. Other than that, Direct Energy has been really good to me that when I had another provider, I went back to Direct Energy. One time, I called them because they sent me letters saying that my thing was gonna run out. They gave me two year deal and in the end, it was a very nice experience. However, if the other company goes down to 39 cents, I might transfer.

I used Direct Energy four years ago. When I set up the service, I did everything online. The service they give is good and I went to them because it's convenient for me. But their pricing is a little bit high. Also, the balance in my online account is incorrect for some reason.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for about three years and I wanted to go with them for their price. They provide the service and we use the energy. They call when it’s time to renew our contract and that’s usually a good experience. There was somebody though who got in touch with me after I had signed the Direct Energy contract and that guy was giving me a rate of $3.99 cents per kilowatt. But with Direct Energy, I can’t get a lower rate.

I've been with Direct Energy for six years and what I like about them is whenever there's an outage they instantly put a message out there and let us know where the issues are. That has always been an asset. Their prices seem to have gone up, but other than that, I never had problems with them and will recommend them to others.

I went with Direct Energy for their cheaper rate and I've been with them for five years now. They asked me a few questions during the enrollment process including my address and telephone number. And I continue to renew with them for their low rate and because there are no contracts. Also, the reps were courteous and professional when I spoke to them. I have told people about Direct Energy.

A Direct Energy salesperson came to the house and gave a spiel. He was convincing so I went with them, and there was a smooth transition from my previous energy provider. I had TXU and another company in the past, but Direct Energy is much better mostly because of the price. TXU was really expensive and there was a huge difference in the cost of the service. Having Direct Energy gave me money that I could spend on other things. Also, my interaction with their team was great. I've had great service and good prices, and I’m happy with what I have.

We decided to use Direct Energy to save money and we just re-signed with them. However, we haven't seen any change in our bill yet and it has been high. Nevertheless, our interactions with Direct's customer service have been pleasant.

The cheaper price made me switch to Direct Energy, but now their price on their electricity is getting high. Still, their service is good. I've also talked to a couple of their reps trying to find out about their specials and so far the interactions have been very good.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for over a year or so but I’m no longer with them. Nothing was wrong but I wanted to save some money as I found somebody who’s cheaper. Now, I've got a letter from Direct Energy, wanting me to come back and they offered me a cheaper rate. When you leave and companies send you a letter for a cheaper rate, they should have offered that before you leave.

I had Direct Energy for a long, long time. They're alright, but now they’ve gone up. We’re moving somewhere else tomorrow and I don't wanna get back and get in contact with them again. Still, I'd recommend them.

A friend told me that she had been with Direct Energy for a while and that they had been good. They're really understanding and that's what I like about them. I’m the only individual in my household and Direct Energy keeps my electricity bill down to a payable minimum. They also gave me a discount a year ago. Everything is going well now. I’ve had a great experience with Direct Energy and I will recommend them to anyone.

We were shopping at the time and we were looking for a better rate, and we found that with Direct Energy. The service is comparable to my previous company but the overall rates are way better. However, we had a real nightmare with them about a year and a half ago. When I mailed my bill in, there was a glitch on my check and they threatened to turn my power off. I messed up the day or the cents and they did not make me aware of it until they were ready to cut the power off so I had to do an express overnight mailing of another check.
They could have been a bit more proactive in letting me know earlier to avoid the panic of shutting my power off when I’ve had an impeccable payment record. It didn’t seem like it even mattered, which really pissed me off at that time. Since then, I haven’t made any more mistakes on my check and everything else has been positive. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend now is trying to get on Direct Energy too.

When we first moved to our new home in 2013, somebody mentioned that if I signed up with Direct Energy, I’m gonna get energy and gas price would be cheaper. They were convincing me to sign up for the service so that I can save money. And I’m paying for my gas and the heat in the house, which is expensive in winter. I thought it was gonna be savings since I’m a single mom and I’m struggling. But I was getting one service, and my bill has two different prices. I'm being charged by Direct Energy and National Grid is charging me as well. I felt it was a scam and I didn’t understand what they're charging me for.
I called Direct Energy about it but they were telling me that they were providing me with some kind of service, but I felt I didn’t need it. I called them several times asking them what am I paying them for and why it isn't one service. They were trying to tell me that my supplier charged me more and they tried to convince me that their service is offered on discount than what National Grid can deliver. They also told me that my bill was less than it was.
I called them last time because my bill was a thousand. And I asked why I am paying double for my service, and they convinced me that the bill was less than what it was showing which just wasn’t right. I'm dissatisfied with Direct Energy’s service because I hate to pay for one service twice. I was so frustrated. Direct Energy is cheating the customer and they're trying to give the customer the impression that they were coming in to save them money. But in the end, they're topping on another fee and I haven’t saved since.

Direct Energy has cheaper rates before, but now, when you compare them to the other companies, their prices are a lot higher. Direct Energy should lower the rates and provide better service.

I have been with Direct Energy for less than a year. When they showed up at my door, there were three of them. There was a woman and then two guys. The woman was in the process of training. It wasn't a bad interaction, but it's not as smooth as it would have been if I was just dealing with her and not all of them, which is why I was slightly confused because it was part of a training. They gave me a little solar light and said that by signing up with them, they were gonna provide that and more to some poor African country. So the whole charity aspect made me decide to go with them. So far, my bill is broken up a little bit more. It's clearer what I'm being charged for so that's nice.

I’m paying more with Direct Energy than I was with the other one I had. My brother-in-law has the regular one we’ve always had out here and their bill is way less than mine. My bill at one point was at $400 and I’m on budget billing. I started out at 144 and it jumped up to 224 on budget billing. I’m not gonna go with Direct Energy ever again because the price increase is ridiculous. I haven’t had any trouble with the power though. I’m just not happy with the price.

I've been using Direct Energy for three years for my natural gas and for my electric. I get a better deal with them than I do with Central Hudson, and all I pay for now is just the meter charges. My bill combined is $157 because I got a better rate locked in and I locked it in annually. And as long as I don't cancel it within 90 days from the day I started, there's no cancellation fee. Every three months, I always check in to see if there's a better rate.
Even in the winter here in New York, my December bill is $500 and change, then March is just like a little bit more. Even though the natural gas and the electric, in the winter they don't tell that the panels don't really generate a lot, and when you get that heavy snow slush, it doesn't generate at all because they won't put their employees at risk to come and clean it. And even if it was altered and if I do the rake, they got this long extension and I got to be careful because those panels have sensors, and I don't wanna damage the sensors. They don't tell me about that so that heavy slush that goes in my power lines and knocks out the power just stays on my panels. My biggest bill is $500 in change but if I go online, the bill is really $300 in change, but Direct Energy charges me a service fee just to use their line. I just retired in December and with my rate, it helps. I'm pleased with Direct Energy.

All my bills were getting very high and after several months, I finally jumped on it and called Direct Energy. I told them that one of my bills was $200 which was crazy high. But they said that for some reason, I wasn't with them anymore. I don't know what happened. There should be a letter or something was supposed to confirm that I wanted to continue with them but I'm not sure how that works. They sent a letter but sometimes things look like junk mail and we get so much of that. They sent me a $100 gift certificate, though. It was a Visa card, where I could spend it anywhere. So, that was nice of them to do. I've been with them for about three years and having them makes a difference in the winter. The heating bills are way up there in the wintertime if I'm not getting billed by Direct. But I have to keep remembering to call them just to renew and right now, I wish there was more of an indication that they were going to take off.

Direct Energy's rates were reasonable. However, they did not notify me when my promotional offer was up and I didn’t realize it until after the fact. And then I had to call them and get a new locked in rate. If they were more proactive with the promo running out, it would’ve been nice. They should give the customers a heads-up 30 days prior to the expiration of the promo. I probably went four months of paying an increased price. And there was no compensation at all to make up for those few months. Still, I would recommend Direct Energy.

I got to know about Direct Energy from an agency that I used to be a part of and they have a fixed rate as an electricity and natural gas provider. We’ve been able to reap the fixed rate and they had free energy on the weekend at one point. They had different rewards that went along with signing certain contracts. There has been a computer glitch where I signed the contract so I’m supposed to have a fixed rate and, somehow, the computer switched back to variable, but they worked it out. Other than that, the service has been okay so far.

I liked the amount of money Direct Energy was charging. Their reps have done a fantastic job. They answered my questions and are always looking for solutions for me to use less money to pay my bill. However, I'm getting phone calls telling me to ask for another discount. They say because I'm a good good customer, they wanted another 20% or 10% discount. I didn't know if it was for real or if it was a fake call. So I told the person not to call me and erase my number from their database. Still, they continued so I told them the next time I'm going to complain. Still, due to the amount I'm only paying, I recommend Direct Energy.

We use Direct Energy for the heating and we're very happy with the prices. It's cheaper and we're saving money. The contract renewal was usually 12 months and when I had to do that it was very easy. The reps were knowledgeable, very nice and courteous. They then mailed me the contract that I agreed to. Everything was professional and excellent. Call Direct Energy and see what they have to offer as far as the energy rates and compare it to what you're paying now.

I've been with the electric company for about 50 years and I got information about Direct Energy from them. With Direct Energy, everything has worked out to the arrangement I had set up. I switched over about two months ago and the experience so far has been good. I'm satisfied with them.

I used NYSEG in the past but they no longer provide electricity or natural gas so I had to change over. I picked Direct Energy from a website that listed different rates from different organizations. Direct Energy's staff were fine and communication on the telephone has been mostly about when my contract would expire and the rates.

I've been with Direct Energy for quite a few years. I signed up with them for a residential property and when the renewal came, I either missed the letter or they never sent it to me, and then my rate went back to PPL. I called Direct about this and they corrected it. They even sent me a gift card for $100 for the problems that we had. I’ve had the house on them ever since. I also had them on a commercial property, but I switched to a different company because I got a better rate this past August. Other than that, dealing with them has been fine. And I would highly recommend Direct Energy residentially.

I wanted to give Direct Energy a try and see if there would be a difference in my electric bill. When I first signed up, they sent me a sheet saying how my costs could be lowered. But the bill basically seems the same to me. Direct Energy hasn’t made a big enough difference that I can automatically see when I get my bill every month. But I'm under contract and I will keep their services for a bit. At some point, maybe I would see if it has made a difference in my bill.

I live alone but my bills were getting too high and were fluctuating. So I decided to try Direct Energy. I've just had them for one month and the first bill was impressive to me. I'm hoping the second bill will impress me more and give me a reason to really look at them. For now, they're good for me. At least, it is saving some money in my pocket.

I had another energy provider before. Then I spoke to some acquaintances who used the services of another energy company that later on became Direct Energy. This other company let my account go variable and my rates were really high but I didn’t know that. Then, when Direct Energy took over, I talked to their reps and I found that I was paying a rate that was way too high. I've had them for some years and they've sent me paperwork when my contract with them was up, and I called them. The reps that I dealt with over the phone were very nice and they seemed to find the lowest rates for me. My overall experience with Direct Energy was good.

Direct Energy had a representative come out and talk to us the first time. They provided the best rates that I could find for electricity and their contract seemed like the most flexible. I've used every source besides them and the rate of Direct Energy is better than their rates. Now, our monthly bill is a lot lower and I don’t worry as much about using electricity. Their customer service team is also professional with the way they interact with their customers and they have a good understanding of what they’re doing.

I liked Direct Energy's price. When I get the notice telling me that my contract needs to be renewed, I call and talk to their reps, and they've been great. And sometimes I ask a lot of questions, and they've been very patient. Also, they help me with the rates. They tell me that I could call back periodically for the rates could go down. They always try to find me a cheap, flat rate. I'll recommend Direct Energy if somebody will ask.

I just left Direct Energy. Although everything was as it should be when I was with them, there was a rate increase and that bothered me. It was not fair that I was caught into it. I’m retired so I’m living on a fixed income, and I had to go with the cheaper one. So, I had called around to a couple different ones, and Delmarva was the cheapest and now I’m back with them. Nevertheless, Direct Energy's reps were very nice when I was switching the account, and they also believed that if I could get a cheaper rate, I should switch. I would recommend Direct Energy if the rate was comparable.

There was a guy from Direct Energy that came to my house not too long ago and he completely lied to me. It was right in the morning where I had just woken up, and he said he was with ComEd and asked for my bill. I was super confused and I was looking for his truck. I gave him my bill and he signed on everything onto his little tablet. And then the next thing I knew, I had someone calling me to confirm and he was telling me what to say. The second he left and after I must have signed up for it, all my neighbors said, "I hope you didn't do that." It's something that's not needed. I've been wanting to cancel their service, but I haven't been able to because I don't know where to cancel it from since I didn't even know what the company name was.

The Direct Energy rate was the lowest at the time I applied with them. Once a year, I check their rates and I've called a few times to see what their rate was and their reps have been very nice. They told me that the rate was gonna change in a month and so they've been very helpful. So far, I've been happy with Direct Energy. They're reasonable and sometimes their rates are lower than others.

Direct Energy is doing a bang-up job and every time I need the electricity, it's there. A guy from Direct Energy came around the neighborhood and asked to look at an old energy builder I had. He signed me up. At the time, it was 9 cents a kilowatt hour. But when the industry was deregulated, they didn't inform consumers too much. And as time went by, other people came by and said they had a better deal. Like a dummy and not knowing anything about it, I left Direct Energy for these other people. And it wasn't a good move. I should've just left it alone with Direct Energy all along.
Another group from Direct Energy came by and they realized that I had left them for this other company. We then talked it over and they explained how that company that I was with was gonna cost even more than 12 cents a kilowatt. So they had me go back to Direct Energy. Now, I'm back with them and I'm at 12 cents now, so it cost 3 cents a kilowatt-hour.
The people that Direct Energy sends to your house are people you can ask questions and show you what the thing is. Those people that came by were very nice and they saved me money in the long run. They were knowledgeable as well. They were able to explain everything, show me in the bill and lock me in at a rate. There had been other companies that came by and I told them that if they're not Direct Energy, I'm not gonna change again for nothing. I don't care what they're selling. I'm gonna stay with Direct Energy.

I received something in the mail with Direct Energy. I called and asked them what their rates were and their rates were cheaper than what I was using before. The provider I was using was like ridiculous. They had one of those promotions that were good for a year but then after that, they doubled. And since getting the service of Direct Energy, my electric bill was lower last month. The way things are now, it's always nice to see even if it's just a couple of bucks. I'm just happy that my electric bill is cheaper.

On a weekly basis, one guy used to call us in the evening hours every time and we were fed up with that. He never gave the correct information and so we discontinued the other provider's service. Since we switched over to Direct Energy, nobody is calling and bothering us and now we are fine. However, I'm still getting bills for the PECO utilities which they sometimes say is $14 but is sometimes a higher amount. So, I'm wondering whether we are still with Direct Energy.

I went on a website looking for a cheaper energy supply. On there Direct Energy had the cheapest so I decided to use them. I've been with them for two years now. The service has been good and the bill has been cheaper than before. I renew based on how good the rate is. I call them to do that and the people I've spoken with have been good and very nice. The most I did was a year and the next time I did was six months. I would recommend Direct Energy.

Direct Energy said they were working with the utility companies to get the utility cost down, so it seemed like a good deal. But they kept coming, knocking on the door and like clockwork, they show up the same day or the day after I get my bills in the mail. The day I get my bills, I make checks for them and I mail them right out. Then I put away the rest of the paperwork. They always want to see the bill and the utility companies are saying they are not to be looking at it. But Direct Energy is saying they've got to check it when they should have everything on the computer. This is annoying. Then one day, a girl knocked on the door and she had a name tag from some other place. I told her I'm with Direct Energy and she opened her folder up where she had a name tag with her picture on it from Direct Energy. She said they were no longer under the name Direct Energy and it wasn't now this company, so we went through the paperwork to re-sign.
Then I got to thinking about it a couple days later. If they sold out and they would rather do business, why didn't they just no-reply mail to the mail that their name has changed to this other company? Curious, I called up Direct Energy and they answered the phone which meant they were still in business. Then I found out that there was a girl who used to work for them and chopped their name tag and was working for one of the other companies now. That pissed me off, so I called Direct Energy back and told them I want to come back and stick with them. I didn't want to switch companies, so I had them call the company she signed up for and tell them that the deal was no good. I had Direct Energy contact the utility companies themselves to let them know that it has been something shady. Then I called the Better Business Bureau and reported it too.
However, because I ended the contract with Direct Energy, I had to pay a higher rate when I started back up with them again. I ended my service with them now on the electric but I still have them on the gas which probably isn’t gonna last long either. They kept telling me that they'll keep me below Ameren's price, yet I had another rep from a different company come and he showed me that his price was lower than what Direct Energy's was. He also showed me Ameren's price and Direct Energy was charging me more than what Ameren was charging, so I went back to Ameren on my electric. I still have a two-year contract with Direct Energy and they've been charging me more than what this contract price is. So, when I end it all with Direct Energy, I will go back to Nicor. Nevertheless, Direct Energy did fine overall. Still, they need to eliminate these people knocking on my door every month because I deal only with the people in their Oklahoma office.

I was shopping for different energy companies then I went with Direct Energy for their fixed rate and they had the lowest rate. It has been a few months since I’ve been with Direct Energy. My bill was what was expected. However, the quality of the electric delivery is dependent on the carrier, not on the energy provider.

I used to have other suppliers of gas and electricity, then Direct Energy was the first energy provider that came with a better rate than what I was paying before. So now, both my gas and electricity are supplied by Direct Energy. I could use a couple more pennies, though, and I would appreciate it if they can do that.

This year I noticed the prices seemed a lot higher for the gas. My home bills were ridiculous and I didn't have the time to really analyze it all but it was the same company as the year before. I don't think I'm saving any money and I'm on a yearly contract so I have to wait until it changes. I wish they would call me when my year is up to renew. I have used others before and they were fine too. Then I switched over to Direct Energy 'cause they were the least expensive at the time. I might mention their name to others as I haven't had any issues with them but I don't know if I'd recommend them or not. I'm gonna go with whoever is the cheapest and I realize that more this year than any other time.

A rep from Direct Energy came to my door and was nice and very informative. Things were explained well so I decided to sign up. I’m now in my second contract and when I decided to sign up again, everybody was really helpful. They explained a lot and helped reduce the initial charge that they had quoted me. So the experience has been very nice.

I had Direct Energy and then I forgot about it. After several years I got another company in the mail so I signed up. However I found out that Direct Energy was still good so I cancelled the other one and stayed with Direct Energy. Direct Energy told me what to do and they were very good in taking care of the cancellation for me. They said that I may get charged from the other company because I signed up with them but I haven't heard anything. They gave me a credit card that if the other company charged me, then I could use it. I'm satisfied with their service.

Direct Energy offered a lower amount and when their representatives came, they were friendly and answered my questions. Service-wise, it's the same as my previous provider. It wasn't much cheaper, but still, it was cheaper. For those looking to find something cheaper, they should look into Direct Energy.

Direct Energy gave me the best price. I've been with them for quite a few years now and the savings that I am experiencing is a bit higher than before although not much. And everyone at Direct Energy was very polite and helpful when I called. I would tell others to take Direct Energy. Also, there was a company that called and I told this company that I was satisfied with Direct Energy and that I didn't want to change. But, lo and behold, I got a letter in the mail that I was with this company. So I called Direct Energy and they said they would take care of it and they did.

I used to be with PPL but I checked the rates and Direct Energy's was lower. So far, my experience with Direct Energy has been very good. Although my rate went up, it went down on my last month’s bill as they said it would. I have recommended them to friends who have a much higher rate.

I wanted to have electricity and pay as little for it as possible and I liked Direct Energy’s price. I called to sign up and they had to transfer me to a third party verification but it was easy. Last month’s bill was pretty good because we were in between heating and cooling. My price per kilowatt hour was lower than the old supplier and the old supplier would not match it. I had a good experience with Direct Energy plus they sent me a $50 gift card for signing up. I would recommend this company.

Someone came to the door and then my dad made the choice to go with Direct Energy. We spoke to the team because my parents had had an old contract and Direct Energy was charging them $8. When I called to check on it, they put the rate down to $399 and gave them a $25 gift card for the inconvenience of not being changed. Direct Energy needs to make sure that they try to contact the customer more than just sending a letter when the customer's rate is gonna go up because they're done with their contract. People who are older get confused by that a lot of times.

I've been with Direct Energy for several years now and their bill was okay in the beginning but it seems to have gone up since then. I compare them with Pika's rates every time and right now, it seems like Pika's is cheaper. But I'm waiting to see what happens over the summer months.

I'm now on my second year with Direct Energy and so far, the reps that I've talked to over the telephone were very good. One time, I called them concerning the price. My gas bill suddenly soared and I asked them what was going on. They said, "The cost of gas has gone up, so we charge you sort of what we're paying plus the profit." I asked, "Why am I paying this much?" and they said, "Because you signed up for it." I said, "Well, I didn't realize that it was gonna be this expensive." They said, "Well, we can lower it a tenth of a cent," And I said, "Okay."
I knew what I was getting with the electricity but I really didn't understand what impact it was going to have on the gas bill, and that was a surprise. Nonetheless, it was resolved right then and it's better now. It's just annoying to be told, "Okay, call back every two months and see." I don't want to call in every couple of months to find out if their price has dropped a bit. I would like to be notified, if that's possible. It would be better if they let me know that they are bringing the price down. That would be helpful. I don't want the responsibility of having to track their price.

Direct Energy was cheaper and the service was good compared to others. They also treated me fairly and every time I called, they did what they could for me. But I’m getting ready to change it as they kept on going up without letting me know and then it would be too late. It’s a business and once you’re locked into a contract there isn’t anything you can do about it. You can’t drop it or they’re gonna penalize you.

I searched under the Pennsylvania list of companies providing power and I looked for the lowest price with the best duration of the agreement. Direct Energy has the best so I signed up online to get my electric service from them.

I went with Direct Energy for their prices though the service has no difference compared to my previous provider. So far, the bill is fine after I renewed but it had gone up without me noticing and I had to call them as the rate changed. They helped me and told me they reduced the rate which would take two billing dates to take effect. They also advised when to call to check on the rates because I could change it without a penalty. Overall Direct Energy was easy to deal with. They answered all my questions and they were patient with my inquiries. I would highly recommend them.

Direct Energy has been fine with us. My previous provider was National Grid and it was the state agency that we have. And comparing their rates, Direct Energy is two cents lower for whatever the unit of measurement is. They only provide us a discount on our energy which we see on every bill. Plus, there were no extra supplemental charges which we were afraid of when we first signed up. Whatever Direct Energy quoted us was what our bill was. Their reps don’t harass us or we don’t get telephone calls all the time. We only get renewal notices or whenever they're holding a promotion where you can get a Visa card for referring a person.
They send a letter telling that the renewal is coming up. They said “If you wanna maintain it, this is what your new rate will be. And this is the period of time that you'll have it." They also offer a month-to-month and offer environmental resources where it comes from used energy or some low cost and more environmentally conscious type of source. And if we don't wanna change anything, we just leave it alone. It renews automatically, then we wait and they send us another letter in 10 months or whatever the term is.
The typical term is 10 months to a year. We renewed our service three times with them and it was easy to do it. They offer a longer term but with the rates in Massachusetts been the way they are, I always check. I check whatever the National Grid is offering. Of all the energy companies that I've dealt with in the past, some from ACN and other places, Direct Energy is the one that is the quietest. Everything seems to be accurate and I'm happy with them. I manage 28 apartments in Boston and three different owners, and I was gonna recommend their tenants that they consider Direct Energy. It's not much cheaper, but every little bit counts.

The guy from Direct Energy came to the door and he was here for 20 minutes. I told him that I didn't want anything to do with it many times, but he would not take no for an answer. I was very irritated. Then he told me somebody was gonna be calling me but I couldn't ask any questions regarding what was being said and signed for to the person who called. Now I've been with Direct Energy for a few months and I'm not saving much. I haven't gained anything by using them. I'm very dissatisfied and I would tell others to run like hell from Direct Energy.

I don’t like it when instead of giving me the days contract, Direct Energy just started charging me $8. And then when I called them and tried to get on a contract, they said it would be another month before they could do it so I ended up paying an outrageous amount for two months. They should take care of that and put me on the automatic whatever’s next in the plan which was the special of the day instead of jacking up to three times the normal rate.
I had to call and answer a bunch of questions and it was really a pain. Instead of just paying my bill, I got to keep track of that contract and make sure I called before. It’s probably a little bit of my fault because they tried to contact me and I blew it off. But I like simplicity and at least with consumers, you just pay the bill every month. I don’t have to worry about contract and all that stuff. But other than that, it would be cheaper when I keep up on it.

Unfortunately, for regulatory purposes, we aren't able to automatically move the account to another fixed rate. As a reminder we do send out communication 60 days prior to the expiration date of any enrollment so customers can avoid moving a variable rate, which is typically higher in price.

Direct Energy seemed like a good deal and everyone was friendly. It was good dealing with their reps when they came to my door. However, I never installed the Nest device. I still have it in its box unopened. I didn't understand how to do that and it's a rental, so I was a little nervous about doing it. Other than that, my bill seems normal and have no complaints.

I liked Direct Energy's rates and reviews on customer service in the Consumer Reports so we went with them. Their rates are reasonable and they have good customer service. When I was signing up, their reps were friendly and answered my questions. I would definitely recommend Direct Energy. In fact, I have told people that have complained about their rates to go online and see Direct Energy. So far, I’m happy with them and my experience has been great.

Someone from Direct Energy came to the door and I wanna save and their price was good. But after a couple of years, which is this year, the price seemed to go really high. Compared to Consumers Energy, the price seemed to have gone way beyond that amount. So, I talked to someone at Direct Energy and they convinced me to try to stick with them. They lowered the price and they were supposed to send me a gift card for $25 and I never received that, so I’m not really happy with them right now. The cost has gone down because we’re not using that much right now. But otherwise, I’m not sure if I would’ve stayed with them because I was calling to cancel them and go back to Consumers Energy.
I didn’t like how my price has gone so high. Direct Energy would charge me $4.99 while everybody else like Consumers Energy was maybe half that amount. It was ridiculous. Direct Energy said something about trying to call me to see if I wanted to lower. If they can lower it, they should just lower it. But maybe they had to get my permission and at that time, they couldn’t reach me and they continued. I called because my bill was $300 and I have never, even in the winter time, ever paid that much money for my energy so, I wasn’t very happy. The $25 gift card was something that kept me with Direct Energy and I never received it. I didn’t get all of what they told me I should get and I felt deceived.

I switched electric provider from PPL over to Direct Energy in order to drop how much I was currently paying. But a week or two after I set up an account with Direct Energy, I got someone giving me the pitch and trying to sell me Direct Energy again. I let them know that I already have Direct Energy. Then I got another one a week or so after that but I haven't heard anything else since then. That aside, everything went fine when I set up the account initially.

Someone came up to our door and told us about Direct Energy. Then, the representative told us it was a fixed rate so we went with them. Since I started working with Direct Energy, my electricity still turns on and that’s about all I expect from it and my bill is about the same. I called them once because I saw that the fixed rate that they said was bigger than what they said it was going to be on my contract and they fixed it over the phone.

I've been with Direct Energy for a couple of years now and I’ve got their lowest rate, which is a little bit lower than Orange and Rockland. I signed up for a year and I could leave it anytime. But when that time was up, they never let me know and then they jacked up the price of my power. So I was paying way too much for my energy through them. Once I found out about it, I called Direct Energy and they treated me all right and made it good. I told them that I was gonna call the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint against them about it and they gave me a Visa Card for a $100, though I probably spent more than that. Then when the time I signed up for was up the last time, they did let me know and I just renewed the contract. Now I just have to keep up with them and find out when that thing's up.

I've had the gas and light company for over 30 years. Then, one time, some ladies from Direct Energy were going up and down the block to sign up customers. I thought Direct Energy's service was gonna be less money, so I decided to try it, but I came to find out that it wasn't and I got to a point where I was paying two fees for energy service. After I finally got my bill from Direct Energy, I told them that I didn't want their service anymore and I'd stick to what I've got because I went through a lot of money fooling around with it. I like what I have at this time and I just want my bills to stay steady and not go higher because I’m very seldom at home and I’m not around eating and cooking much. I only use a little air conditioning when I need it, but other than that, I keep the door and window open.

I called about one of the subsidiaries and when I talked to the guy, he said that I might wanna go direct with Direct Energy because eventually, they’re gonna be getting rid of all the little ones. I asked about the information and he walked me through it and gave us the time. He was very helpful. I had called because my bills became higher than they ever had been and he explained to me that New York state had started imposing a minimum $50 fee that I wasn’t in need of. He said that my highest bill was less than what I’ve been paying. I went off the budget at that point. Since switching to Direct Energy, our service has been low and fine. There has been no blip and I’ve been pleased with the price. I passed Direct Energy on to siblings, and most recently, to my sister.

I just came back from living in Wisconsin and there was a guaranteed lower price with Direct Energy. I'm doing pretty good with them. They've been friendly enough. and I like them. They are helpful and very convenient for me. They do everything they can to keep everything up. They came into the house and showed me how to save energy as far as my electrical as well as how to change the shower heads. So it was good.

A person showed up at my home. He only had the company ID on him. That is NOT legal in Columbus Ohio. They must have a badge issued by Columbus on their person in full view. Would you really want to do business with a company that from the very beginning is doing things illegally?

Consumers Energy told me, when I paid my bill, that I was paying for gas and Direct Energy is actually charging me more rates than what Consumers Energy would charge me. I have no idea that I had another company going through another company. My bill has gone up since the time I got a call from Consumers Energy. They told me I had to call Direct Energy myself, but they couldn't give me any information how to get a hold of them. They said that it was on my bill. I looked on my bill and all I saw was a number for Consumers Energy, not from Direct Energy that they're saying I'm getting my gas from.

When I first signed up with Direct Energy, they sent me the Nest Thermostat and that was one of the main reasons I switched over to them. Direct Energy is just as good or better than the other electrical or natural gas providers I’ve had in the past. But with Direct Energy everything's on time. The billings are on time and the rates are reasonable so I'm totally pleased with it. It's a well-run company.

Direct Energy's price is better than that of the other provider that I had previously. They're right in my pocket. Also, Direct Energy always sends me reminders on the renewal date which didn’t happen with the other company. The Direct Energy team was helpful and whenever I had a question, I got the right answer. I haven't had an emergency but whenever I called for something, they were pretty good.

I got Direct Energy as a provider hoping that the bill would be lower, but I absolutely haven't been able to see that much of a big difference. It's about the same and it's definitely not lower. I was disappointed that I really didn't see too much of a decrease in my bill.

Direct Energy is a good company to use. I decided to try them because of the courtesy I received from their reps and how they explained the program very well. Their communication was also very good and their price was better than the company I was previously with. Three weeks ago, there was a young man from Direct Energy who came here. He told me that their manager made some changes and he asked to see my bill because he wanted to see if the changes were in it. There weren't any changes there, so he told me to call their office. Sure enough, they had not made changes to the bill before it came out. Aside from that, Direct Energy sent me something in the mail that led me to use their app. You put it on the furnace to set it but you have to use a computer. With it, you'd be able to turn down your heat and everything regulated through your phone, too.

I was with a normal provider and Direct Energy came at a cheaper price. So, I signed up for their gas services. I was able to speak to somebody over the phone and it went well. But Direct Energy gave me a tough time when it came to renewal. As soon as my contract expired, they jacked up to the highest possible price. I talked to the fellow but he would not bring the price back down until I threatened them that I would go back to my old provider. And that conversation was kind of hostile.

The price for our electric energy kept going up and we didn’t notice at first until I realized that I should check that out. We were paying double than what we should’ve been paying right through the winter. We were paying too much and I wish they had it where they automatically adjusted the rate if it went above a certain percentage. We looked up different companies and Direct Energy did direct mail to us, so we checked them out. I called them and got on their plan, and we’ve been with them for quite a few years now.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for the last several years and everything's been fine. This last time when I signed up, however, they said it was a little bit high. It was the fall, and it could be readjusted in the spring. So I have to call their number to try to get it lowered again. I would like to get back to somewhere a little more reasonable than the amount that they raised a few months ago.

Direct Energy's price was going so high that I've never seen my electricity ever going that high. It was the first time in my life that I work. I'm normally home only in the evening with only a couple of lights on. The bill was a hundred dollars. We as a family have never paid a hundred dollars. We used to pay $50, $60 and all of a sudden, the bill kept on rising and rising. My gas bill was lower than electricity and I don't even have electricity gas. I thought I could understand one month, maybe Christmas, but they've been like that the entire time. And everyone is out of the house all day long, so there’s no light on as much, and nothing else goes on. I cannot be giving them that much money for one shower, one-hour light bulb and maybe one hour of TV.
When I called them to find out exactly why was my bill high, they said that they had been charging me this much more and that they could reduce it. The person I was talking to also said that they couldn't change anything and at that point, they couldn't give me any money back but could send me a gift certificate of $30. So that's what they did and then they reduced my bill to half. Right now, I'm happy. But I still would like them to reduce the bill. I want to go back to my original bill of $30 - $35 because that has gotten me out of right from the beginning point. What Direct Energy is doing is a sneaky way of earning money and not a good way to do it. They should inform their clients that they are paying higher if they are and that they are eligible for getting less too.

I was with Consumers and somehow I got a mailing for Direct Energy. The service is the same. I check every couple of years whenever they contact us up to see what the new rate is and so far everything's okay. My bills are still much too high but it's lower than I was paying. I'm okay with them as long as they keep lowering that rate. And as long as they keep lowering that rate I will go with them. I'm happy with it.

I've been with Direct Energy for more than a year. A lady that used to do my apartment complex told me about them. It was the only one I knew, and I wasn't satisfied with BG&E. They were cheaper. The only time I've talked to them is when I'm finding about what's going for right now and they've always been pleasant and helpful. My bill has been cheaper, and when I call them with a problem, they always explain the situation and make suggestions for what I could do.

I was tired of screwing around with Commonwealth Edison so I looked up online and I found Direct Energy. I looked into the gas side of it too. I gotta shop for the best price and Direct Energy seems more reasonable.

The sales representatives of Direct Energy were not too pushy and they were very professional. I had used a few other providers in the past and I liked Direct Energy a lot better. It had just raised the price recently but I had signed up for a new plan so that they said that it was going to be corrected within the next pay cycle.

Direct Energy has been adding on my electric bill and I don't want them anymore. This happened with two of my bills, one was an additional $50 and the other was an additional $59. I would like them to lower my bills and not to increase them. I’m gonna call and cancel their services.

I got a call recently back at the beginning of the year about a recycle energy in New York State and I switched to Direct Energy. My old provider gave me a supply cost quote per kilowatt hour and quoted me 10 point something but my contract was up with them. Then I called Direct Energy and I asked one of their rep on their current rate for the year and she said that it was 8.49 per kilowatt hour. Direct Energy gave me a good rate so I signed up with them and saved money. So far the only power outage I ever had with them was Sandy and we were out of power for a week but I wasn’t alone.

I had somebody from Direct Energy stop by my apartment. At the time they were offering a free Nest. With the free Nest, it’s really helped on pulling my energy saving compared to other apartments and house thermostats that I’ve used. Everything has been a positive experience so far. The most beneficial aspect of Direct Energy was their incentives to sign up. Check out whatever incentives they may have and their current rate to see if that’s cheaper than other energy providers.

Other people I know have Direct Energy and they got a good deal on it. I tried it and I'm well-satisfied with it. I have it down in Texas and I get good service, which is what I want. Their team members have helped me as far as giving me a good rate for the summertime. And since I'm not there to use any, it's just the minimum fee that they charge.

A girl from Direct Energy came to the house here years ago and I had Just Energy and they completely and totally was taken us to the bank. And so when the girl came, she made me realize that I was getting completely and totally ripped off. So I switched and they've been great since. It's pretty comparable. They've all been good when I renewed this last time. The guy was really nice and just fast and friendly and didn't want to sell me. He did want to give me some kind of power surge thing and I didn't get that, but he did say I was gonna get some free stuff and I haven't gotten that.

I have been with Direct Energy for a number of years now. I knew about them when they came by here. They've asked and they didn’t push me of anything. We have talked and looked at electric bills and he said he could call. He said that, “We don’t raise it up like PP&L does twice a year.” Then he also said, “You will know about it and the changes on it.” I said, “Of course, I get help with my electric bill.” So they said, “That’s all right too.” So I got up a free day once a week and I got a cheaper rate too. If I have a problem or question or anything, I just call their representatives up. I try to tell my friends where they live in to get Direct Energy like Philadelphia. There’s quite a few people who want it and they can’t get it because Philadelphia have a problem with those people down there.

Somebody had told me that Direct Energy is less if I go this route and since we wanted to save money, we went with them. When I switched over to Direct Energy, which took two minutes, everything was good. Since the switch, my bill has been lower and has saved us money. Others asking about Direct Energy should inquire about savings.

We moved from one city to another. In our other home, we paid a heat and a gas bill and with where we’re living now, we pay Ameren and that is heat and gas. It’s the most practical price we’ve ever paid anywhere. A young man was at my door close to a year ago and explained the energy to reduce my utility rate. He said that it would help control my energy bill and that by being a part of the program we will be protected from an increase. The guy was very polite and had his credentials. I knew it was who he represented and that who he was representing was true. He spent about 30 minutes with me and answered questions. Then, I felt relieved after talking to him that maybe I can get my utility bill down and keep it from escalating. For many other people, theirs would go up and I’m trying to keep everything on hold to stay low as possible without increases or a big increase.
I’m always looking for ways to not have to keep putting up extra dollars. I signed the Direct Energy contract with him and I got an average of $5 in change every month for that contract. I called Ameren and asked them about six months ago if when the rates started going up, would I have to worry about mine. I wanna make sure that when it comes due I will ride into the next year and the guy said it carries on.
It’s coming up due and I’m not sure I’m gonna re-sign because I don’t like having to pay another kind of a bill. It’s auto-deduct and I thought it was gonna be part of my utility bill itself but I misunderstood that. I'm on medicine and I haven't made any kind of a move, but that was my idea of trying to get rid of some bills. We’re not gonna hold still eventually. It’s only $5 but that went up to $20 and my medicine and utilities went up. Also, gas has gone extremely high. And when you’re on social security, the financial comfort would go down and we don’t have a lot to back us financially to keep us going and be able to pay all the expenses.
I’m trying to think where else can I pare away another $5 to be in our pocket. It’s what happens when you reach social security, as your payments go up and you’re okay where anything is fine until you get sick. Anything relating to lungs and heart, the money is expensive. When that happens, you gotta have to double take. That’s where I’m at at this point with everything and our spending. But I'm thinking about how if I cancel it, I’m gonna be paying a higher rate. So, I can’t cancel. And I am not unhappy with the situation. My utility bill is the same every month and I know what I’m expecting.

Here we are going into air-conditioning and hopefully it’s the same again as it was last year. Because in the winter we were on heat. The summer we were on air – we don’t open our windows because we live near the expressway and it’s dirty especially when they’re working on stuff.

I'm buying Direct Energy for my house and I'm doing it for my business. I said what I wanted to pay and they gave me a price I wanted. Took them about 20 seconds. "Oh yeah, okay. You got it." And that was about it. My gas bills are very fair. You can't save on too many things these days 'cause everything cost a fortune. Like anything else, you gotta shop around and know what you wanna pay. You have to be a smart consumer. But if you don't know, they're gonna charge you more.

I did a major savings with Direct Energy. I was with TXU and Direct Energy offered me a lower rate. The old Reliance also offered me a rate promotion and the smart thermostat, and my bills just went up so, I didn’t like it. I called and asked Direct Energy if they would take me back which they did. After two years and just recently, my rate went up. When I explained to them why I was paying more for less energy, they said I was not on a contract. I asked how much it would be to go on a contract. They said that I left at 52 for two years. I told them to put me on a contract so I could get the lower rate. Their customer service people were good, knowledgeable and friendly.
I like that my average per kilowatt is about 9 and most companies are offering at least 11 average. Right now, my kilowatt is 6.2 and after all the charges and stuff, the average is only 9. Many others that approached and looked at my Direct energy thought that I'm okay. People also ask me about Direct Energy and I tell them how much I'm paying and that it's awesome. For friends that wanted to switch, I would gladly recommend Direct Energy.

Direct Energy talked to me and because of their prices, I ended up switching to them. I get the same kind of service as what I had with my previous provider. I've had good interactions with their team. They were friendly, informative and did what they could to make me happy. I wasn't happy with the first pricing they gave me but when I called back, they gave me something better. They seem to be a fair and honest company.

Direct Energy came to my door and told me about the basics where they offer a flat rate compared to my previous energy supplier which was a fluctuating rate. You don’t see door to door salesman for energy these days, and I gave her a listen and it was worth my time. The representative was very personable. She had a couple of understudies with her who were kind learning the ropes. But the main lady was very knowledgeable and very professional about it. I now know that my bill’s not gonna change every month. Whereas before, it would go up and down and it went drastically up recently. Now, it’s kinda tapered off. The bills are a little less but it’s gonna be the same bill throughout the duration.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with them and spoke with 3 different people before the final transfer when I hung up. I wanted to enroll and live in Maryland. All customer reps thought I was calling from Texas and kept transferring me. Frustrating. I'll use another supplier.

My brother used to work for Direct Energy and their price was cheaper. I’ve had BGE in the past and I noticed a difference in pricing. Working with Direct Energy has improved my life.

I received something in the mail about Direct Energy. I was with UI and I went with Direct Energy for cost saving. I live alone in a very large house and my bill is now slightly less, I've not had any outages and I've not had any issues which is a positive thing. There is no degradation in service with Direct Energy and people should go with them. If they can save a few dollars, they should save a few dollars.

I used PPL years ago. They were fine except that their rate kept going up. Then, I had electricity with Direct Energy and I chose them for the lower monthly bills. But their service is about the same compared to before. All in all, I would recommend Direct Energy to a friend.

Direct Energy has a good rate over other providers and I've been using it a little over a year now. I lived out in the country before and used another provider in the past so I can tell in comparison and Direct Energy's service is good. With them, my bill is a lot cheaper and they save me money. And I like how they have the free weekends or free nights and all that stuff. Plus their customer service team have been good anytime I called to talk to anybody.

Back in the 90s, Direct Energy was the only ultimate power provider available aside from Delmarva Power. When Direct Energy gave me their price per kilowatt hour, I compared it to Delmarva and I said, "To hell with that". So, I went with Direct Energy and have been with them ever since. I get an average between $20 and $50 a month over Delmarva Power and as far as I'm concerned, that's good. I've been in several other states as well but Direct Energy is the first alternative I got to Delmarva. I've been also offered a few since but they haven't matched the price. The team at Direct Energy gives me advice in the heavy usage days which happens to be explained by where I am on the water here. My electric heaters will go into use because the wind heats right through this house so I can see that. Overall, I've been very satisfied with Direct Energy.

I got a phone call from Direct Energy and I thought that if I signed up with them, my electric was gonna be cheaper. I use natural gas for heat and electricity, and with them, the cost is about the same. I’ve also got so many phone calls from Direct about the time expiring and getting a new program which I don't understand because they didn't explain things well.

Somebody told me about Direct Energy and the kind of discounts they give, and I decided to try them out. I had my previous provider for 50 years and their price was extremely high. I'm 75 years old and I feel like they robbed me for 50 years compared to what Direct Energy's price is. Direct Energy makes the price reasonable for a poor man like me. I've been with them for about two years and I'm saving $50 plus a month which is a lot of money.

I was with PG&E before and I've had lower bills since I've been with Direct Energy. Direct Energy's rates are cheaper and you aren’t compelled to stay with it if you don't want to. However, they should have sent me a notice or called me to renew the contract when it was over. If somebody doesn't answer them, they need to make a call. I lost my husband last year so I wasn’t too up on everything that was going on. I didn't know it stopped, so when I got my bill I wondered why my bill was so high.

A guy from Direct Energy came and knocked on my door and then showed me the benefits. Their rates are pretty steady, and I didn't get big increases with them in the past few years. Usually they will send a letter for me to renew. Four months ago I received one so when I read it, it was the same thing: "This is gonna be our new rate if you want to be part of it.” Everything has been good and I've never had problems with them.

This is my third year with Direct Energy. I switched providers as Direct Energy was a lot cheaper but the service is the same. My experience with them was fine until it was time to renew my contract. The price went from 789 to 890 and I was told to call back in March and April as I might be able to get a better price. But when I called back, I wasn’t able to get a better price so it’s a little bit high right now. Direct Energy’s team was fine and the rep offered to help me but he couldn’t.

I’ve had Direct Energy for quite a number of years now and I’m very pleased. I've had excellent experience with them and their rates are very reasonable. I also appreciate very much that I was always notified of any changes that were being made. I’ve always received letters as well in reference to what was going on, and I was always told that if I had any problems just notify them and let them know what was happening. Anyone interested should try it and see what happens.

Direct Energy has the lowest price and it made me pick them over another electric or natural gas provider. They said it was cheaper but our bill is outrageous but then we have a big house. I have the bill information and it's an automatic service. It comes in and it's okay.

I have been using Direct Energy for over two years now and I chose to use them for a couple of things. First, it was the no-contract. They also promise a gift card because I needed the money so that helped and their prices were also good. It was cheaper compared to the other ones that we were trying to get in to switch. When they promised me a gift card a couple of years ago, I never received it and I've been calling and waiting. Finally, someone helped me out this year and was able to direct me where I need to contact in order to get my card and I finally got it. I would say to a family member that I still get the same regular bill for a cheaper amount. And they should always check the rates and make sure they're getting them back free.

First they put my home on commercial zone. Then they increase my fixed 46c/therm rate to 84c after 1 year. This is their so called variable rate. For 6 winter months, they put me on that rate and charged me a fortune. Overall they killed me with their bills. Worst business as far as I know. Whatever they said while you were taking the plan is totally wrong and fraud. I checked up variable rates of other companies, they are 2-3 cents up or down not 40c up for 6 months. Their hardcore customer service is horrible. So Be careful guys. Do not be cheated by these guys. I am going write a letter to the commission.

Direct Energy's salesman came to the house three years ago and explained to me how the system works with them. I also received calls after them from others and I just tried to compare what each one had to say. They were all really pushing hard. Once or twice a year I talk to Direct Energy's team to get the new prices since they come up with a new price structure for the next few months. It was fine dealing with them and they explained everything that I asked about.

We have Direct Energy at work and for my residential usage. I get a bill every month and it works the same. They’re cheaper versus JCP&L, though there have been a couple of months where the bill was higher, which I don't like. But most months are lower.

Someone from Direct Energy came to the door last summer and at that time, they told me what my rates would be. They were very polite and they told me what to expect, what they would offer and whatnot. I enrolled with them and they've been fair as far as the price that they gave me. I've been satisfied working with Direct Energy and I haven't had any regrets.

The rep from Direct Energy told me that I would be saving more energy with them. However, I haven't noticed any savings. They need to get better because there's too much money and I'm living off of my Social Security. It's the worst.

There is no way to give a zero or negative rating to them or else I would have. Signed up for 6 (Six) accounts with Direct Energy. First of all they give you the false illusion of reducing your electric bill. After one reduced bill you are back to normal and in most of the cases the bill went up across the board. Second of all if you bring that to their attention they will pretend to care but no action is taken. It took 4 faxes and a letter to the Better Business Bureau and the board of public utilities to get them to respond. Upon calling them back again there was a lack of response and no action taken. How is this firm allowed to even operate. Another prime example of corruption in the state and energy marketplace.

I can certainly understand how having unexpected bill increases can be frustrating. The benefit of having a Supplier is that we have the option to provide you with a fixed rate for the supply portion of your service, whereas your utility's rate fluctuates on a monthly basis which may result in a greater variance in billing amounts. I’ve had Direct Energy for years when I lived in Monroe. They always seem to be willing to negotiate and give me a lower price on whoever gives me the price that’s supposed to be lower. And, their customer service team was very nice and very accommodating. So, I stayed with them. I just told two people at a dinner party the other night who have electric bills that are enormous that they should be switching over to Direct Energy.

PSE&G wasn't selling their energy anymore and it's mandatory for us here in New Jersey to use a provider, so I had to start using a different carrier. I got a call from Direct Energy and ever since I used them, the bill has been a lot higher. I'm not sure if I need to use a provider because I don't use a provider over my other place and the electricity there is very low. I'm not satisfied with Direct Energy at all.

I've been with Direct Energy since December 2016 and my bill went up instead of going down like they told me it would have. It went from $35 to $78 and my last bill was $186. Right now, I'm just paying my bill and waiting for the renewal. I already declined to renew the gas portion of it, and I'm waiting for the other one to be up and not renew it as well.
