Direct Energy would save you a couple of dollars every month. I started with them after somebody came to the door, wanting me to sign up. I signed up because of the cost at that time and that aside, everything is the same. The service is okay.

I only know about Direct Energy and another provider, and Direct Energy was saving a little bit of money when I compared the two. The few times that I talked with somebody to see if they have any new prices or something that I can take advantage of, everything was looking out to be perfect. Everything is good so far and I would recommend them.

I have a no soliciting sign on the door yet Direct Energy's reps kept knocking on it. They were an inconvenience, but because I need electricity, I got the service. Now I’m paying more for electricity than I ever have in my life, though none of the other companies around here are much better.

When I moved here about 10 years ago, I had to get electric to my name. Most of them here got TXU and they wanted me to pay $260 to get my name here where I live. But I couldn’t pay it. The lady working here said we weren't gonna pay that then she called Direct Energy and it got to where I could pay them. But the other place was really high for me. I spent 200 bucks in the other place and I didn’t know how to live when I paid the bill. I couldn’t pay it. I thought I was just gonna quit paying.
Then when I came here to this other apartment two years ago, a guy from Direct Energy called. We had them in our area and they're lower-priced energy. Last month, the bill was a little bit high for me though, because I don’t make much and I've got to pay 350 to rent out here. But so far, I’ve been able to pay it and the service has been good. It has been the best one I’ve had so far. One time, they told me if I got somebody on Direct Energy, they would give me $50. I got my ex-wife on it but I never got $50. But maybe I didn’t do it right. That’s been eight years ago. Nonetheless, I tell a lot people here that I’m on Direct Energy. So far, it’s been good to me. They're awesome.

Somebody came to the door saying Direct Energy would lower my bill. However, everything seems to be the same. The bills don’t change. They go up one minute and go down next month. But I always pay my bills, that way, they have no choice but to give me good service.

I switched to Direct Energy because of the rates and no cancellation fees, and I’ve been with them for seven years now. They have competitive rates and I haven’t had any issues.

Direct Energy's cost was less than other providers. So, I went with them and so far, my experience with them has been fine. I've been using them for two years now and renewing my contract with them was very easy. Also, when I got something in the mail from them, I called and the reps I talked to were very nice.

It was cheaper and simple with Direct Energy so I went with them. As far as my service goes, I've never had a problem and my bill is lower from what it was. They always notified me if the rate was going down.

Direct Energy's customer service reps were very helpful and good. I spoke with them when my contract was over and I renewed. They answered my questions very clearly. There was a price increase lately, which is 20% more than before. But they told me about the energy increase and the price. I have a good company, and they don’t charge a lot of extra stuff. I referred them to my brother and sister, and they also now have Direct Energy.

I used to be with Ameren, but Direct Energy had a cheaper rate and it was fixed for a year. The first time I called to renew, I messed up. They said it was too early for me to call to renew my contract. Then by the time I remembered to do it again, I had two months wherein the rates weren't good till I could get back on again. But they were nice, took care of everything, and answered all my questions. I've been happy and satisfied with Direct Energy. I've told other to try them. For some reason they had the notion that Direct Energy's service would be more expensive, but when they checked it out they realized that it wasn't and they switched over.

A guy came to the door and told me about Direct Energy. They were cheaper so I went with them. Right now, I got a year's contract with them but I've been with their service for a couple of years and I call them each year to renew.

I like the flexibility that Direct Energy offers. There's no contract, you can cancel, and you can pay as you use. Also, they're very cheaper than the other providers that I've seen. Every time I call them, they’re prompt and very friendly. They answer, and they are very direct. I've been using Direct Energy for four years now, and I've been telling a lot of people about them.

I've been using Direct Energy on and off for the last eight years, and the different companies are all about the same. The only way Direct Energy is gonna improve the service is by lowering the prices.

There are several factors that will contribute to charge per kWh. Different regions and different time frames of the year can see fluctuating pricing. Another contributing factor would be power supply outlets. For example, In Texas, the cost of energy is currently elevated because there were several power plant closures recently. We have also received reports that there was a large population increase in the state of Texas over the past year which is adding to the increase in electricity demand. This decrease in energy supply and increase demand for cooling is causing the price to steadily grow higher across the board for all suppliers and utilities.
We receive our new pricing at the beginning of each month that correlate to the changes in the Energy Market itself. I made a phone call to Direct Energy and they gave me a new rate. I signed up for a year period. I switched to them for the lower rate but the cool season hasn't started yet. It's only 2 cents per cubic feet and that's gonna be a buck a month so it's not a big deal. Still, everything including the Direct Energy team is fine.

I looked up Direct Energy online to make sure it was a legitimate company, and then I saw it was a lower cost so I gave it a try. I've been pleased with them and I'm happy that they're a fine service. I've called them to renew my plan, and they were helpful and polite. But they could do a better job in stating the cost saving because I don't really know the difference in cost between DTE gas and Direct Energy.

When we signed up with Direct Energy, they were offering much lower rates than National Grid. Direct Energy was our provider for a while, but over time, their rates were almost twice what National Grid would have charged me. The guaranteed rate I accepted once from Direct Energy expired but I never paid attention. I just paid the bill every month when it came in. We switched back to National Grid because their rates were lower. It was pretty easy cancelling my service with Direct Energy. National Grid handled all that. Now, we're producing our own electricity.

I've been with Direct Energy for about three years and when it was time to renew, they called to let me know. They also gave me the options from the various plans that they have. They bill the same amount every month and their service is very good. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I was with American Power and they were ripping me off. My daughter has Direct Energy so I found out about them. I am very satisfied with Direct Energy. Their rates are way better and they let me know when things are going to go up.

I had Direct Energy before in my other place where I used to live. They're a great company and they provide good service. I've had good interactions with their reps. They also save you money, as their rate is cheaper. Since using their service, I've had more money to spend on things with my daughters. I'd recommend Direct Energy to my friends.

I have an electric account with Direct Energy, I was offer 10 cents a KW, but that is all BS, I've been with them for 2 months and I just can afford it any more. This month I barely consume 335 kw and is costing 254 dlrs. You contact them and they blame in on AEP which is the supplier. They even warn you, "AEP is going to blame on us so you don't need to call AEP." My last bill I paid online and they claimed a returned check fee that I know it never occur because that account always had sufficient money to cover the amount I think is just a way for them to charge another $30 Dlrs.
I think they blame other companies for their steal and whatever the supplier invoice they just jack up the price as much as the customer can pay before moving to another company, but they make sure you get a contract. That way you have to pay a fee to break your contract. WATCH OUT PEOPLE!! Based on the reviews I've read on this website I think is a Direct Energy own site, trying to get more customers. One of my friends told me about Direct Energy and since they were cheaper than other companies, I made a phone call to sign up with them. The rep I talked to was nice. I got a year to year contract with them and renewing it was really easy. So far, my experience with Direct Energy has been good and working with them saved me money.

We've been with Direct Energy for at least three cycles. Sometimes, our agreement is for 12 months or a little bit more. Energy is a commodity so the service that you receive shall be the same for any of the different companies. The only moment that you may complain is when there is out of service or an emergency like that. However, the price shall be the difference and so far, our experience with Direct Energy has been good.

We were under a contract with somebody else and it was at the end of July or the beginning of August that they told me to call about the gas around October. I called Direct Energy to see if there was any better rate. I tried to call them yesterday, but I was put on waiting for so long. The first time was an hour and the second time was a long time too. Nobody got on the phone, so I hung up. They need to improve the service. I don't mind waiting for a bit, but I had an appointment and I had to leave. I recommend their service, although I wish that I don't have to spend so much time on the phone.
They also don't let us know when they have a good rate, so I can tell for that price. I have to call to find out, but it's not easy to get through them and it makes me disappointed, so I don't even bother to call unless I really have to. I spoke to someone last year and he gave me his number, but when I called, somebody else answered and said that he didn't even know if the fellow worked there or he was not working there anymore. I was complaining to him and he gave me his extension number, but I couldn't get through when I tried to call him this year.

Direct Energy has the Free Weekend and the company has always been great. We had some trouble in the past but they were able to work with me and fix it. The people there are also very helpful and most of them are knowledgeable. I've never encountered any issues with any of them. Direct Energy offers an email way to contact them but they take too long. They're better off answering the phones. It's easier and faster.

I am happy with Direct Energy’s service. They have a cheaper price and there is a big difference on that from my previous provider. Right now, I have a contract with them for a year and I can renew it after that. I called their customer service because my service was terminated as there was a confusion with the payment and they were able to straighten it out for me.

When I decided to do business with Direct Energy, their rate was cheaper. Then the rate expired after the first year and the rate has steadily been going up so I have been looking around for something cheaper. Direct Energy told me that they didn’t have that rate anymore and I was told of the new rate. I told them that I saw that it was cheaper online but they told me that they have to get an approval so they can give it to me for that rate. They still never gave me that rate. The people I spoke with on the phone were ambivalent and they did not care. All they tell me was that the rate was not available anymore and there is a rate that I have to choose now. I also got the option for a year or for six months.
When renewing the contract with them, I can do it online if I want to or I have them send me an email sometimes. I am not always able to get to my email right away and then the rate would go up and I have missed the opportunity. They get people on the hook with a lower rate and that was why they were going door-to-door. So far, I am not very dissatisfied with Direct Energy because I am still being provided electric to my home but they could do better.

Direct Energy started out at a lower rate. But then it went up and I got mad and I called them, and they put it back down again. It happens about every few months. When I call in, they are full of excuses and they talk about National Grid and how National Grid is higher in terms of rates. I haven't noticed a real difference in Direct Energy's service at all and I’m thinking seriously of going back to National Grid. I'm dissatisfied and I wouldn’t recommend Direct Energy to anybody.

When I came down here, I went to the first place I saw and I've had Direct Energy for about 12 years now. My bill goes up and down but other than that, the people from Direct Energy have been very good.

Was wondering why my Bill was so high for the last year and a half, Was never told even when speaking to the gentlemen that came to my door or the customer service agent that I should receive a renewal letter later on down the road, Long story short after I Did a little research on my energy bill comes to find out after looking on Consumer Affairs and reading a lady's review that I was supposed to receive a renew letter which I did not receive from that company.
I check my mailbox faithfully in every piece of mail or bill that comes to me, I end up calling to speak with someone about This Issue in all and they could is keep telling me that they can see in their system that it was mailed out on December 2016 that is almost 2 years ago. I was Furious. Not only did I not receive the letter. I did not receive a phone call. And the customer service agent Was basically telling me it doesn't matter what I say. He sees what he sees in the system that it was sent out and I'd inform him that just because you see something in your system does not mean that customer received that letter. I told them, "You don't work for the Post Office and neither do I." So from their so called mailing it out to the Post Office anything could happened in between.
At that point I spoke to a supervisor Who basically could not help me at all and was telling me the same thing that they sent it out in 2016. So from 2016 up until now 2018 I've been paying a higher rate than normal Which makes me very angry. I think went on to ask to put in a ticket to speak to someone in much higher position which I was told it would take 5 to 7 business days. I hope for better outcome after I speak with this person because this is crazy. If not I will be looking for a different energy company.

Hello Patricia, and thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear that there was confusion surrounding the expiration of your initial contract and the renewal that occurred. I did want to take a moment to provide some additional points, in the hopes of clarifying any outstanding questions. I have reviewed your initial Residential Enrollment Consent From, which was signed by you on 3/26/2016. In addition to the rate, length of agreement and other important terms, this document clearly outlines in section 8. that "A notice will be sent to you 45 days before the expiration of your initial term notifying you of your impending auto renewal. This notice will contain a copy of the Agreement with the proposed terms highlighting any changes in the material terms of this agreement and it will inform you of your right to accept the agreement with its proposed terms or your right to cancel your agreement." I also listened to the third party verification call that was recorded and attached to your enrollment. The operator clearly outlines the renewal process, and that we will send documents 45 days ahead of the end of the contract, and that if we don't hear from you to accept a renewal your account will move to a month to month variable rate. When asked if you understand, you said yes. I was a ComEd customer for many years. I live in a trailer home in Bartlett and I'm disabled. I live on one check a month and I'm looking to save some money on bills. So, I decided to go with Direct Energy just on the electric bill. A few years ago, I was told by my caseworker that I was eligible for the PIPP program. For many years, I was on the LIHEAP program, that one-time benefit that helped poor people on welfare, like myself, to pay the bills during the wintertime. She told me that in my situation, running out of money, if we get a hard winter and the furnace isn't working a lot, then the bills will be over $100 sometimes, so maybe I should go with the PIPP program. This way, I might be able to survive a little bit better and pay the bills a little easier. She was right. Now, I am on the PIPP program and I pay a certain amount every month that I could afford, and it's like a 12-month period.
When I first signed up for the PIPP program, I told them I have an alternative energy supply company on my electric and I had IGS on my gas bill. My application was rejected because I can't have an alternative gas company. It has to be straight Nicor. But my caseworker told me, "You're okay with the Direct Energy. You could keep the Direct Energy on your electric bill, but you have to cancel the IGS." So, I canceled the IGS and I stayed with the Direct Energy.
I applied for the PIPP program again. I brought my electric bill and I told the rep, "I still have Direct Energy for my electric supply company." When she applied for it on the internet for me, they didn't reject it. I'm satisfied with Direct Energy. I haven't had any problems and there were no interruptions of service except that every now and then, a transformer blows out and we lose our power.

Direct Energy's price might be a little bit more than somebody else but when you start changing around, you don't know what is what. I'm 91 and I have to try to keep my head straight. I have someone to help me but I want to do the right thing. Others change so much that you can't keep up with some of that stuff and that is kinda hard. So, I wouldn't change. I kept Direct Energy all these years and I'm satisfied with them.

When I first joined Direct Energy for electricity, my bill went down. However, within the last year, it has been going up and it fluctuates. I don’t use any more electricity than I have been using all along, yet they billed me about $95 which was extremely high. I didn’t use any more electricity than that yet they went to $100 and some. Thereafter, the next bill went up $230. It doesn’t make sense to me. Direct Energy has been my electricity provider for about four years and lately, it’s ridiculous the way the electric bill goes up each month. I have five TVs which had DirecTV and I even cut those out plus the internet but our bill is still going up. When I call Direct Energy, they just keep saying, “Well, they went up” but I didn’t see the rates going up so much at one time before. My electricity bills are just skyrocketing and there’s no consistency with it.

I had issues with another company and I was upset with the experience I had. Meanwhile, Direct Energy has weekend free electricity. I wanted them to send me the invoice through the mail instead of me doing it on the internet. Sometimes I get confused and I forget, and all these years I've written a check out for all my bills. I have problems in downloading because when they send the bill, I have Internet Explorer and evidently, most companies are not even sending bills through it. So, when I go to download it and print it, it doesn’t download. Still, they give tips on how to save energy.

Direct Energy was cheaper. The only thing I didn’t like about them, and the reason why I called Direct Energy again, is that the rate changed and nobody called me. So it went to a crazy number, and I was paying like $500 a month. That kind of pissed me off a little bit. It would be nice if they would give a call if the rates are gonna change or if the term is up. When I called them, they, however, assisted me fine. Overall, I still recommend them.

Direct Energy was cheaper than the preferred company that my apartment is at. However, the person who referred me started his account with Direct Energy in December and I moved in August. Our rates were completely different when I was looking at it. His was by far cheaper just because of the month that I joined. Price-wise, you should wait for a different month if you want a better rate.

Somehow Direct Energy acquired my mother in law's contract and transferred it to mine. Went unnoticed for way too long. Have been paying outrageous prices for natural gas for over 10 years. They tell me that there is nothing they can do about it. Contract wasn't even for my utility account.

Three years ago, a customer service rep from Direct Energy came around our neighborhood. And for three full years, I was with Direct Energy. Last June, my policy had ended and I forgot to renew my contract. As a result, my electric bill was $275. It was extremely high. I called in and got it renewed. Then recently, I had a rep stop me as I was leaving and asked if I have Direct Energy. When I said yes, he looked at my paperwork to make sure I was getting the best rate. He then told me that I should have been getting a better rate and that I should have received a free Echo. When I called the company about this, they told me that the free Echo and the lower rate their rep quoted are for new customers. He took me to the website where it specifically says, "For new customers only." Other than that, Direct Energy had saved me money, their customer reps are very easy to get a hold of and the two people I worked with have been very nice.

Direct Energy was good until my contract expired and then all of a sudden, my bill was five times what it normally was. I wasn’t even aware that it was gonna change and then it was impossible to get out of it. Their customer service was terrible. I called and kept getting the runaround. It was a mess. It took me about a month and 12 phone calls. For the couple of years that I was with them, it was fine and the price was good. But the way it ended, I would never use them again. It seemed like a total scam where they got me locked in to a higher rate. It was such a bad experience to get out. I would never recommend them to anybody.

I dealt with Reliant before and I wasn’t pleased with them at all. So far, the service at Direct Energy is way better. After I received my first bill, it looked a lot better than getting an almost $600 bill. They're doing a great job and now I have less stress.

I came home from an out of town funeral to find my gas disconnected. The next day after the disconnection I paid the whole 132 dollars that they cut it off for. In order for me to get it reconnected within 7 days it cost me 125 to guarantee it reconnected. Hard to justify spending 400 on labour and technician for a bill of 132.00. I've never been so disgusted in a company and the customer service is of ZERO help.

We transferred everything down south up here and our daughter-in-law arranged our contract with Direct Energy. We used a different provider before our transfer and compared to them, Direct Energy is more reasonable. But it depends on the climate, what year we're in, and if we have a big snowstorm and we need more juice. Being here in the hard winters, which we haven’t had for a while, the service is good. We also got central air, heating, and water. If there is something wrong, we call the service and they’re Johnny-on-the-spot. They will come and fix wires and will do anything within reason. Our experience with them has been great and they're very economical. Plus, the people running the company as well as their techs are very courteous and very experienced.

Somebody from Direct Energy came to my door which was very annoying but I listened to him. I then decided to go with them because their rate for both gas and electric was much cheaper than the company I was getting my power from before. What I’m paying to Direct Energy shows on my National Grid bill but my check is written every month strictly to National Grid and National Grid deals with Direct Energy. If I had a problem of any kind, I would call National Grid but that has never happened in all the years that I have paid for my own electricity and gas.
I currently have a two-year contract on both gas and electric with Direct Energy and it works. When the contract is about to run out, I get a mailing from them and I call them and we talk about it. Sometimes it’s a set rate and other times, it fluctuates but it never fluctuates as much as the company I was getting my power before. Every time other power people come to my door, I show them my current bill and they say that they couldn’t do better than Direct Energy and they go away. Direct Energy’s rates remain very low and they don’t raise the rates just because I’m renewing. They’ve always been very nice people to do business with and I’m very happy with them. In fact, I have recommended them to a friend.

Direct Energy's price was low and they offered other elements to the contract. For instance, if you wanted to get some security for your home or if something was wrong in your home, you could buy a plan through them before something got wrong. So, I went with them and so far, Direct Energy has been pretty reasonable for me because I'm on a fixed income. On the other hand, the other companies I used before added other items to the price like customer service charges. But lately, I got a phone call and Direct Energy said that their price was gonna get higher. I have to see just where that goes.
Other than that, whenever I call them, I have no problem talking to someone and that is a good thing. Their customer service is right on the spot and they seem to give you all the details whenever you ask. At one time, they even had a special for seniors where they would get a discount. Other people have asked me about Direct Energy and I told them how reasonable their price is and how they’re willing to help you in other areas as well.

I have my electricity done through Direct Energy. I shopped around and they had a better kilowatt rate. But now the billing has actually gone up so I’m at the point of changing. I’m not really happy with the customer service as well. I’m on the phone too long when I call. So depending on the time of day or what I’m doing, it just doesn’t work out for me. I’m having to hang up and then I have to call back later. However, their reps are always friendly. For the most part it’s a good company. It just got a little hiccups but I would still recommend them.

I have very bad experience with Direct Energy. I'm paying the same thing since last year. The kilowatts they used are just putting the same price. My previous energy company was overcharging me. With Direct Energy I knew that I wouldn’t really have the same problem that I was having before with the energy company that wasn’t really well known. Signing up was easy. I just did it online and it took me about 10 minutes. My bill is cheaper now and I like how I can view my usage on the app so I know where I’m at.

Direct Energy had a very competitive rate. Then our contract with them expired and I noticed my rate jumped quite a bit. So I called them and got a new contract, which I thought fit very well with my need and I even got a free gift with it. They're very helpful, professional and courteous, and we're really happy with it. Overall, I'm very satisfied and anyone asking about Direct Energy should go and get them.

I’ve been with Direct Energy for two years and for the first year it was great. I really saved a great deal on my electric bill. About nine months or so ago I noticed a huge increase in my bill. I started cutting corners everywhere I could including not even using the A/C when it was really hot outside. I live in a 560 sq ft apartment. I just got my bill for this month and it’s double what it was last year at the same time AND I WAS AWAY FOR TWO WEEKS which means nobody was using any electricity during that time. I finally called the company and was told that my contract had expired almost a year ago. They had my address wrong so I never received any notification that my contract was about to expire.
Because my contract expired, instead of them cancelling me, Direct Energy put me on a variable rate plan which is over 20 kilowatts per hr! Be very careful of this company. Just like any other corporation their executives need bigger bonuses and larger vacation homes. I have filed a complaint with the Board of Public Utilities in NJ because I want a credit starting with the months that my contract expired. It’s their responsibility to see to it that they have my correct information.

One time, TXU jumped up extremely high, so I started checking for other providers. I walked into a Walmart and there was Direct Energy. I thought I would try them and see if it's any better, and right now, it’s not. Still, it’s okay because I've got to have power somewhere. Working with Direct Energy has kept the air conditioner going, so it has been keeping me cool. I’ve only had Direct Energy for a couple of months and they supply me with power. I’m not sure how it’s going to be in the future, but unless they really tick me off somehow, I don’t plan on switching services again anytime soon. As long as they keep me and my wife happy, it’s a good deal and I’m satisfied.

I was using Just Energy and then Direct Energy was highly recommended and when I called and spoke to their customer service rep on plans, she was very pleasant. At that time, I thought that the plan that I chose sounded great and I was gonna be able to save some money based on switching from Just Energy to Direct Energy but I was shocked with my first full-month bill. I thought there was gonna be some more savings, but there wasn’t.
I called their customer service rep because the bill reflected a different kilowatt rate but I had to call back and get another customer service rep because the first gentleman didn’t wanna help. He just said, “You need to read your plan." He was reading my bill and I was reading what was on the bill then I told him I can read the bill myself but I just didn’t understand it. I had to let him go and re-go through everything else. I had some questions with the other rep and she said that she did not have the answers to it. I asked how Direct Energy calculate what you’re free usage is and she said it was the system. But then I asked, "How do they really know what’s free?” She said she has never been asked that question, and that she was going to ask her manager and learn. She took the initiative of wanting to know more about it.
I didn’t fully understand the way that this plan that they’re advertising works. Instead of being a straight flat kilowatt per hour, it’s just an average and it’s kinda misleading. They said it’s a 12.6-kilowatt plus free weekends, from Friday at 6:00 PM until Sunday at 11:00 PM but they do not say it’s in an average kilowatt of 12.6. My average is 2,200 to 2,500 kilowatts per month. Even with the free weekends, I’m still using that much kilowatt with Direct Energy.
My bill should be a lot less especially having free weekends and they’re saying that I’m only using 700 kilowatts on the weekend and then the rest, during the week which I’m trying to figure out how when there’s no one home during the week. Everyone’s at school or at work. Other than that, the whole purpose of me switching was to save money and I’m spending more money now with Direct Energy. I’m stuck now in a two-year contract so there’s nothing I can do. I’m giving myself another full month to see if I’m saving. If not, then I’m gonna look for a new provider.

A lady who worked at the apartment complex that we lived at mentioned Direct Energy when we first moved there. Out of the options that we had, it was the best price-wise and it fit what we needed. Direct Energy is reliable and their rate is good. They tell me what my rate is and how many kilowatts I’ve used, but I don't see how much my average cost is per kilowatt on their website. Other than that, I do everything online and their website is very easy to use.

Direct Energy was referred to me and because of the deals that they were giving, I decided to go for it. My monthly bills drastically came down. My monthly bills used to be around 300 and with Direct Energy it came down to around 100, 120 at the max. I would recommend them.

We were never sent a bill in the mail. Tried to make payment online yet payment button failed to function properly. Call in to resolve, transferred multiple times and given 6 other numbers to call. All were incorrect numbers, mostly wrong departments. This company wasted hours of my time and I have still not been able to make any payment and now it is late. Shouldn't making a payment be easy? Direct Energy's customer service is very very poor in the billing department. So much so it's unbelievable.

I used Direct Energy before in a rental home. I heard about them thru an online search and when I had them, my experience had been fine. But I ended it because my renter contacted whoever they wanted to go with. This time, everything has been good when I've had to deal with Direct Energy's reps. And signing up was very easy because I had a prior account so they could validate everything.

I was looking for a provider with no contract. Direct Energy offered a good price and it was consistent. So I have them at my first apartment in Houston for half of the year, then when I moved out I continued with it. The transfer of service was easy and took about 20 minutes on the phone with the agent. Their reps are really nice. They help me out and they get my problems solved.

I liked Direct Energy's rates. However, when I paid my first bill with them there was a $25 associated fee that I was unaware of. It was a little surprising. It could’ve been in the small writing, but I didn’t see it when I was using it. They could have been clearer about it upfront and how it’s allocated based on the usage because it's very big. But I've had no problems with Direct Energy besides that.

I signed a contract with TXU and I wasn't happy. Then a Direct Energy guy came to my door and he told me how it could save money. While everything has been good, I didn't renew it when my contract ran out. My bill was a little high. Still, I was very satisfied with Direct Energy. I recommended and referred my aunt, and she's been happy.

I googled a list of energy providers where I was going to rent an apartment and I looked at the cost of Direct Energy. I got a yearly contract with them, but because I’m moving this weekend, I didn’t renew for the year when I got close to my move out date and I started a month-to-month. I figured I would try something new to see if it would work out better than my last provider. But it started off on a bad note with Direct Energy. There was some problem and my account wasn’t getting created. So I couldn’t get in to look at my billing history until about a month into the subscription. So that was a little unfortunate. I called in a few times about that and the people I spoke to were fine individuals but they weren’t able to resolve my issues. They did attempt to do something at first but the things that they said they attempted didn’t do anything. So they told me it would get resolved.They basically told me to wait. I never had that problem with my previous provider though. I’m sure that it was an isolated type of incident. I suspect that Direct Energy might actually be more expensive than my last plan though. But it’s a little too early on right now in the new subscription to really know about pricing.

If you choose to go with Direct Energy, be advised that all customer inquiries require you to go thru 7-10 minutes of automated messages before you're connected with a live person, if you don't get lost in the multiple decisions prior to that. Once you are connected, you are speaking to an operator in a foreign country (Central America?) whose level of English comprehension is not guaranteed. And finally, if you wish to argue, complain or challenge anything about your bill, they will not do anything or provide any real detail as all they can access is a single computer screen in front of them. They have no authority to correct, change or help you. They just inform you of the current account standing.
In summary, customer service does not exist in the sense of "you're being taken care of... or listened to". They will only connect, disconnect or change your account type. No real "we care" type of service exist. And remember, the call you're about to make will not be a short one, because they couldn't be bothered to talk to you...it apparently is a waste of time for them. They rather you waste your time.

I needed the service and I chose Direct Energy from advertising. It was easy to re-enroll with them and I’ve been using them for a long time now. Everything has been pretty good so far. In fact, they called me the other day and I’ve got an appointment for next Thursday for a checkup on my heating system, which they called me about because I’ve already paid for a plan. I just moved from a different state and I took my friend’s honest opinion abut Direct Energy. Compared to a different state, I use the AC more here so the bill was a little high but there was a big difference. There was one specific day in my month that it was really high. I don't recall what I used that day but it was more than the ordinary price that we were getting for each day. The plan seems to be decent but this is my first bill so we’re still learning things.

A friend referred me to Direct Energy. I signed a contract with them and it didn't take a minute. I did it on my phone on the Direct Energy app. I didn't know I could sign the contract on the app. So, I called the customer service to do the contract then. The response with the person I spoke with wasn't good. She wasn't attentive enough to listen to me. I gave her my number and I was telling her, "Okay, I'm doing month-to-month and I want to sign a contract." She said, "Okay, when do you want to sign a contract with Direct Energy?"
I told her that I'm already on a contract with Direct Energy and I'm already a customer. Still, she said, "When do you want to sign up? When do you want your line to start from the address, this and that?" She wasn't getting my explanation right. I cut off the line and tried to check if I could get on the app, which I did. When I was doing the month-to-month stuff with Direct Energy, it was a little bit better, but when I decided to do the one-year contract, the bill is a little bit higher. The last bill I paid was $160 something, which is on the high side. I understand it's summer, but then, I've never paid such in a month with my energy company.

My parents stayed with Direct Energy so I decided to get them too and my dad helped me when I got into my first apartment. I've just been using Direct Energy since then. My bill has been good so far. I noticed that it has gone up a lot lately but that's because it's been summer. It's been hot and I've been keeping my apartment really cold. My interaction with their reps has always been a good experience. Any time I talked to anybody, they've always been nice. So far, I like Direct Energy and I don't plan on switching.

I talked to Direct Energy’s rep when I decided on the kind of service that I want. Direct Energy has different offers for the pricing such as the free weekends and when I choose that, I usually do it online. However, I am very disappointed with Direct Energy because I don't understand their fees so I use something. The delivery charges are incredibly high at this moment which is more then $100. We have been using it the same way but it has happened in the past three months and their delivery charge came without an explanation.

I've been having good service from Direct Energy. Signing up with them takes a few minutes to get it done and their reps are friendly. But, the rate is a little high. They sent me out a flyer for promotions but I don't see why they have promotions and then they set me up for a higher rate. With Direct Energy, the online experience with them is a lot better than the other provider I've used before I came to this new area. Their website is friendly to navigate, but the payment screen shows how much you’ve previously paid right above where you go in to put your payment. And I’ve plugged that number in instead of the outstanding balance. The outstanding balance is usually around the same amount. But one month, it was 200 but the outstanding balance the following month was 212, and I put in the 200 amount. Then, I got a late notice that I hadn’t paid it in full. Other than that, the actual service and their team’s professionalism were perfect.

When we had to renew our yearly plan with Direct Energy, we were advised that we would save money on the free weekends but our bill doubled. They told us they were gonna get us a better per kilowatt rate but it didn’t work out that way. So, we would be calling them because we just changed to non-free weekends. As long as they can fix it, I'm not too worried about it. We had moments where it had not been great with Direct Energy but service-wise, it has been fine.

I have Atmos for gas and I've always had Direct Energy for electrical. It's been there since I bought the house. My fiancée passed away so I had to put my name on the account and the reps at Direct Energy that I talked to were very friendly and helpful. We set up an online deal and Direct gave me a discount. So far, Direct Energy is doing a great job. I had a great experience with them. I'd tell others to switch before their bill gets too high.

Direct Energy helped us out. I liked their discounted rates and they were able to lower the rate for a while. We’re loyal people until the provider can’t provide any discounts to loyal customers, and then I’ll switch. They have to continue to look at their dedicated, loyal customers and give them the same benefits as they’re trying to grab new customers. I’m in the insurance business and I have clients that continue to be with us for years because they’re loyal. We give good customer service. But if the rate comes and they go shop us, then we have to be competitive as if we were the new vendor.

Direct Energy gave me a good rate which is better than the other companies. Also, everyone in their team has been really helpful whenever I called. They sorted out everything I needed. They also seemed to really care. I've been completely satisfied with the billing but in the last couple of months, I had to call them to make changes or see where I could get a lower rate out because my bill was outrageous. It was almost $500. When I called hey were helpful in lowering my rate. I'd recommend people to call and try this company. I had a great experience with them.

The lady that I spoke with at Direct Energy was really sweet, but the phone hung up. I called back and spoke to another girl, but she was so awful. I asked her about the different rates, and she told me a rate of about 10.2 and I said that I saw a rate online and it said 9.9. I asked if there was any way we can look at that one and set that one up. She said that there was not a rate of 9.9. She then goes, "Isn't 10.2 the same thing anyway?" I said it was not and I asked to speak to a manager. She said that the manager was gonna tell me the exact same thing, but I said okay and that I wanted to speak to a manager. She kept repeating that until I said that I would really like to speak to a manager. She put me on hold, but I thought it was like a permanent hold, so I hung up.
I called back again and spoke to another lady, and she was so helpful. She explained to me about the 9.9 and also explained that if I did it on my own and renewed online, I would be able to get that rate. I did it online real quick and she had stayed on the phone. She made sure that everything was set up properly on my account and that I had done everything. After that, it was super simple and easy. I've been with Direct Energy for several years already. However, in the area that we live in, during storms and even during the summer, we have our lights flicker. The electricity will flicker and turn off during the extremely hot days. They're building and building in the community where we live, so they need to look at their electricity situation and how they're doing it over here. I think there is sometimes an overload of things per transformer.
Whenever we were on a fixed rate, it was really wonderful and we usually had really good low payments. We had a low bill every single month. Then, I didn't realize that our contract was up. I looked through my emails and I didn't see anything in my emails notifying me that I was gonna be up. It was for June, July, and August, so I anticipated a higher bill, but I was surprised because I was getting $300 bills. That was very shocking to me because we have gone a lot. I even moved my temperature up a little bit. I called and I realized our contract had been up and we were paying 15.2 cents per kilowatt per hour. Whenever I renewed, I got a smaller kilowatt per hour.

We've been with Direct Energy since we moved to this house in 2000 and have been well-satisfied with them. However, I wish they'd keep my electric bill as low as possible. Being with them for as long as I have, I deserve a little better price than what they offer sometimes. I also wish they would remind me in advance when my contract was up so I can renew it instead of just jacking my bill up automatically without telling me. I've had a little problem understanding some of their people that I've talked to as well. They're not Americans and their English is so broken that it's hard for me to understand them. Overall though, Direct Energy's service has been okay with me.

We had used TXU years ago and after the first year, their rate seemed to go up. We’ve been using Direct Energy for several years now and there have been no surprises along the way. We like that Direct Energy seems to be consistent and their rates remained low. They’ve been very reliable and we stuck with them. Their reps have been good about calling and notifying us when we are up for renewal periods that we don’t lapse and get on with a variable rate. We appreciated that. Renewing service was easy too. We’ve done it online before and we’ve done it speaking with a representative as well. It was pretty convenient both times. We have not had any issues with Direct Energy whether it be service, energy itself, customer service or billing, and their website is always working.

I looked at rates online and decided to go for Direct Energy. I noticed a difference in the billing since I went with them. I only wish that there were fixed plans because we have a large house, so it fluctuates because of the heat here in Texas. They had called and told me that my plan was running out and I needed to either renew or change it because it was going from a fixed to a variable rate. Their customer service is good. I’ve never been disappointed and I recommend them all the time. My friends are always looking around or changing and when their plan ends I would say, “You should look in Direct Energy. They’re pretty good. I like them.”

When I bought the house, the builder gave me the phone number for different coverage and Direct Energy had the lowest rate in this area. I called them eight months ago when I tried to understand the advertisement they had on the TV and the radio. In their advertisement, they claimed that people who sign up would be able to get a free weekend. When I called them, they said they were gonna increase my power rate. In this case, I will be able to have the free weekend. Also, we would have electricity cuts from time to time. It seems to me it suggests a natural disaster, and they’re just fixing them whenever they can. Other than that, the experience so far has been good.

I heard good stuff about Direct Energy from friends and co-workers and overall, I have had good service from them. One issue, though, is that somebody lied to me. I had Direct Energy Power-to-Go and I called them because they raised my rate. The person told me that they were gonna discontinue Direct Energy Power-to-Go and for me to switch over to a regular account. But it was a lie. They still have Direct Energy Power-to-Go and my co-worker has it. It was not a big deal but it’s crazy that they had to lie to me. Other than that, the rates are good and it has been great. Every time I call for anything, they’ve been very helpful, very polite, and professional.

I was with Direct Energy for 2 and a half years and when I came home one day my power was done. I called them and they said, “Oh, your account’s canceled.” I asked them why and they couldn’t answer. There was also no notice. I also told them I just re-signed a three-year contract to lock in my rate and they said there would be an investigation and they would get back to me. I said, “Okay. But I don’t have any power.” They said they would get back to me in three days. I said, "Okay, that’s awesome, in the middle of freaking thousand degree weather.” All of that was happening at like 6 o’clock at night and I was not really gonna call another provider at that point. So I stayed in a hotel and dealt with it in the morning.
The next day I called in first thing in the morning to tell them I need somebody to answer why my power was canceled. I needed power and I couldn’t wait two or three days. They said, “Yeah, she wasn’t supposed to do that. She was supposed to turn your power back on immediately. It wasn’t supposed to wait for two or three days.” I said, “Yeah, well, in the meantime, I’ve lost everything in my refrigerator.” After I talked to this other representative she turned it back on immediately and found a new contract. She said, “I can’t reinstate your old one but we’ll start a new one.” It was a mess. She said some people just put the wrong apartment number and say they were moving out at this such and such date and they accidentally put our number, so Direct Energy turned it off. I told them that's really not good business. They should verify their cancelation policy.

When I got energy a couple of years ago, I was looking at a couple of guys and I saw Direct Energy. Initially, there were free nights and weekends but when I renewed my lease in my apartment, I changed my plan and I don't have those anymore. It’s like my bill doubled. But everything has been pretty seamless. Whenever there was some sort of outage, they worked very quickly to get it back on. It has been awesome.

We’ve been with Direct Energy for a long time and we went with them because of their pricing. However, there were some times in the past that the bill wasn’t late yet and we would have them calling wanting to know where the payment was. Other than that, we have not had an issue with them.

Texas has a website called "Power to Choose," and we found Direct Energy there with better rates. They also have better notifications for when your contract expires, you're fixing a roll-in to a higher rate and you wanna renew. The previous company never did that and my parents, being elderly, didn’t keep up with that kind of stuff. My parents were paying three times the amount that Direct Energy charges, so that's why I had DE in an apartment one time and I told my dad that we had to change them over when I moved home.

Three years ago a Direct Energy rep who was walking around talked to me at my house. I'm a home builder so I'm cynical, but that rep, who was very polite and helpful, talked me into getting Direct Energy. Their service has been fine. They have saved me a lot of money over the last couple of years. Once, my two years ran out and I started getting higher electric bills. I got back online and re-registered and everything has been fine since. I'd recommend Direct Energy.

We’ve been connected with Direct Energy for a while now since their billing was stable, although it wasn’t at the lowest and it wasn’t a constant rate. Prior to that, we had the services of TXY. At that time, TXU went beyond their reach. Everyone was selling everything and they were using us as the buyers. Direct Energy is the best among the energy companies that I have dealt with. The customer service has been good when I call if I have a problem. If an accident has happened, they are the first ones to know. They understand and work on the problem. They fix it and get the light back on as soon as possible. Plus, they either text or call us to let us know. Our experience with Direct Energy has been very good and I’m satisfied.

Direct Energy is a good company with reasonable prices. I first heard about them from my friends from work and I was told me that they had some good plans. So, I decided to sign up with them. They have been doing good so far in terms of service. I’ve got gas and electricity, so that’s a plus. Also, their reps were really professional and friendly whenever I had any interactions with them. Plus, I do everything online and the online stuff is easy to use.

I have been a customer of Direct Energy for five years. I switched from TXU because they are the most horrible company you can have. Direct Energy's service has been great and they provided us with a decent price. I also don’t have very many issues with them. Furthermore, any time I have had to call, I’ve had an actual person. We were moving to Wichita Falls from Lubbock and I asked my nephew and his fiancée what electric company they used and if they liked it, and they recommended Direct Energy. Everything went smooth, though I told Direct Energy that my nephew had given me information and I gave them his passcode, and we were both supposed to get $50 off of our bill and we haven’t gotten it yet. Nevertheless, I'd recommend it.

I have a contract with Direct Energy for 18 months and I had better rates than the other companies, so I'm sticking with them. Also, it is working -- like everybody else, they go up and down. Since using them, I could see that my bill is a little bit lower, but not that much. Signing up was good as well. They were very polite and they explained very clearly, so I was happy about it. Their team was very nice.

A friend referred me to Direct Energy. The service was great. I got the Nest and a great rate. I've been with them for two years. However, now that my contract's expired, they're not gonna give me any kind of deal. I just have to get on one of their fixed-rate plans and so there's no real incentive for me to do that. I can go switch to TXU or somebody else. Nevertheless, Direct Energy has been really responsive. It is definitely a good company.

I liked Direct Energy's rate. Enrolling with them was easy. However, there was once where I disputed a bill but I didn’t get much resolution from it. Also, I felt that the bill got really higher so I looked for other carriers and ended up switching. I would have stuck around with Direct Energy but I wish they would do more to retain their customers than limiting their options when their contracts are up.

I went with Direct Energy to save a few bucks. But I had to go through getting a new furnace and a new air conditioner, and I haven't compared my energy service since having Direct Energy with what it was before, so it's hard to tell what the difference is and if they have provided lower monthly bills as I was expecting. I've spoken with their team and and they've been knowledgeable. Their professionalism and ability to help me when I had issues or questions have been very good.

When I was married, we had Direct Energy. I love their customer service so that made me go back to it when we got a divorce and when I bought my new house. Any time I called Direct Energy, they were happy. It was like they were happy to be at work. They were always willing to listen. There were not too many times that we had to get an extension on the bill but when we did, they were available for that. The service is expensive and the first house wasn’t an upstairs-downstairs house so it didn’t use as much electricity. But I’m learning how to maintain my bill in my house now and I love the service.

Direct Energy was cheaper than Green Mountain Energy, which was my provider in the past. But Direct Energy is having a lot of trouble with keeping my billing straight. They almost shut my electricity off four months in a row. I had to call in and have them put my credit card on the file again whenever they called me up and threatened to shut off my electricity since the auto bill didn't work. Then, they had me stuck on a non-locked in rate, and so I had two months of obscenely high bills. I have $200 electric bills for an apartment. When I called them up, they were helpful. They didn’t sound like they’re in America, but they got things taken care of. Overall, my experience with Direct Energy was all right.

The sales associate from Direct Energy came to our house. However, I'm very disappointed with Direct Energy. When I first signed up, they said I was gonna get a $50 gift card. They said it would take a few months for me to receive it. After about six months, I never got my gift card. And so I called them and they said sorry and that they will send me another one out. I never heard anything from them again and never got the gift card. So, I called back a few months after that and they apologized again and said they'll send me another one. Never heard anything and never called back again.
They called me to sign back up for Consumer Energy. I told them I'll sign back up and also said they never sent me my gift card that several of them promised to me. The rep said sorry and that I'm gonna get a gift card. I never received a gift card again. I understand that the gift card is just a bonus, but they shouldn't keep telling me they're sending me something but they won't. I told the last rep that that was very frustrating and irritating and she was sympathetic. But then she also said she'll send me a gift card and I never got it. Direct Energy actually owes me $100 because they've told me that every time I sign up, they're supposed to give me a $50-gift card and I signed up twice. As far as their services, I would recommend them to others.

I’ve been with Direct Energy since 2013 and the service is great. I’m satisfied. I can also pay my bills online and over the phone. You just make a call and if you're gonna pay your bills, you press one. You do the system and put in your credit or debit card. The staff is awesome as well. The lady who talked to me was so nice. She said, “Hey, do you know the electric you're using is still the expensive one?” She renewed my contract and she told me she was gonna do two years.

When I got Direct Energy about four years ago, they were a lot cheaper then. Now, it is getting comparable. I just wish that, hopefully, sometimes, the rates would go down lower again. Nevertheless, their team has all been very polite and kind, and they have done a good job. I have already recommended them.

I was with TXU but when I moved to a different home, I went with Direct Energy. I purchased a different home with new windows and my bill is crazy reasonable. Direct Energy was recommended and it was awesome until I let it expire my contract and didn’t know it did. I had a really high electric bill and I found out that it had expired. They told me that they told me in December. They should send a letter to let people know a contract is expiring within a month, not several months before.
Now I have a new contract to withdraw, so I’m anxious to see if that would bring me back much better. But it was easy to re-enroll into the contracts. It was hard to decide which one to do, though, because they didn’t offer what I had. I had to change it to something different and I wasn’t sure which way to go. Other than that, it’s all good with Direct Energy.

I was with TXU for the electricity and Direct Energy seemed to be better. With them, my bill went from 260 down to about 100. However, the last bill went from 160 to 408. The rep said that instead of paying for six kilowatts, it went up to 11. I was not expecting that big of a bill. I know July and August were hot and the air conditioners were running constantly, but when I was with TXU the bill never went over 260. But Direct Energy's team is very nice. I could explain to them what is going on and they would help me work it out.

I used another provider before and with Direct Energy, my bill is a little bit less. Also, the reps have been good. I moved from my apartment to my home and I contacted them, and they were helpful and told me all the details of what would happen. Direct Energy is good if one uses electricity wisely, like doing laundry on the weekend because weekends are free in my plan.

The bill is supposed to be less with Direct Energy. But I just get the bills and pay for them and I haven’t really noticed a difference. Other than that, the people there are professional. And they did send me some funny-looking energy-efficient light bulbs.

I had Direct Energy once before and now I have them again. Everybody's charging a lot for per kilowatt nowadays. My last contract with Direct Energy went from 8. 03 cents per kilowatt hour and now I'm at 10.07 something an hour. So, I'm not too thrilled about that. I called and complain, and I asked the rep if I could get a lower deal. While I was told that the rate was the best they could do, she answered all the questions I had.

We've had Direct Energy for a couple of years now. When we decided to get it, it sounded like it would be worthwhile and I would be saving money. The enrolment took a few minutes and it wasn't bad. I have Direct Energy now after I was referred to them by a friend about a year and a half ago. I used to be with Reliant but Direct then had a cheaper rate so I switched. I've now had lower monthly bill and basically, the service has been just right. Dealing with their team has also been good. But then, I called earlier today to get a quote as I was trying to renew my energy, and the guy wasn't too helpful with me so I told him I was going to look for another provider. He sounded like he was asleep when he was talking to me. He would have at least done a little bit more research, maybe look around for rates or talk to me in a more professional manner than he sounded. Instead, he was more blunt about everything like, "Well, this is what I got," and there was no, "What if we do this, or what if we do that?" I probably would have stuck around if he would have been a bit more helpful. Still, I'll recommend Direct Energy.

I've had Direct Energy for about nine years now. When I moved here 10 years ago, I had TXU. But then, Direct Energy showed up at my door and said, "Oh, we can do it cheaper." I said, "Yay!" So, I've been with them ever since. The first couple of times I had to renew my contract, they called and talked to me about it, and everything worked out. And I kept the same Saturdays free. So far, everything's been really good. However, I haven't gotten my paper bill because the local post office in Dallas is having problems. So, I asked what my balance was and I got what I needed to know from Direct Energy. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. In fact, whenever someone's moving, I'd tell them that they would need to get Direct Energy.

Direct Energy knocked on my door, and they were having a promotion then. At that time, I did not have a provider yet. The young guy I dealt with was pleasant. They gave me everything I needed, plus I got a letter in the mail, too. My bills here, however, are averaging the same, about 15 cents to 25 cents less -- it is not a big saving. They also told me that I will be getting a gift card that I haven’t received yet, but it has not been that long. I'm really looking forward to having it, and it should be in sometime in September because he told me 30 days.

Direct Energy has better pricing than my previous provider. I switched and I've been with them for about a month now. I don’t have access to make an online payment. Their business hours is the same as my business hours so I haven’t been able to call after hours.

Direct Energy has been fantastic. We have them at electric then we got them as gas. Their rates are a lot better and we get guaranteed rates. We just call once a year or every other year, depending on which one we call, to see what the new rates are gonna be. We have recommended them to a lot of people.

Direct Energy's prices have been significantly cheaper than everybody else's. Also, Direct Energy's team always calls me when there are new promotions coming up or if it’s time to renew or change plans. They’re proactive and we know what to expect on our electricity bill for the most part. The only downside is their payment site which is super clunky, slow and annoying. They seemed to have tried to make some updates to it recently. But other than that, our experience with Direct Energy has been easy and simple.

Electric bills could get a little high and Direct Energy seemed to have the best offer for trying to keep energy cost down. So far, signing up with them has saved us a lot of money with the cost savings that they’ve given us over the years and we’ve been very pleased with them. Since they switched to monthly billing where one is estimated while one is actual, it has been a little chaotic. But since I renewed my contract, things have been a lot better, especially because I'm on a fixed income and trying to budget for our monthly payments gets a little hairy. This year has also been a little whacky with the heat and humidity.
When needed to call Direct Energy, they were very understanding and the person I spoke to helped me out right away. My commitment with them had run out and I didn’t even know it until I got an electric bill that was 400 bucks. Then after we got things straightened out, the next one was under 200. Every time I’ve needed to contact them, I've been very pleased with my experience. They also offered me a service for when we had electric surges, which for some strange reason has been quite frequent over the last two years. So it’s comforting to know that somebody’s looking out for you.
I would highly recommend Direct Energy and tell others that with the rate that they’ve given us, they’ve saved us several hundred dollars a month. I know Central Hudson is pushing clean energy, but the rates they're quoting say that your electric bill would be $200 to $300 a month, which is ridiculous and not sustainable for the people in the adult community that I live in. We’re all trying to figure out why things are as high as they are because nobody’s doing anything different, but I have no regrets in signing up with Direct Energy and I hope to stay with them for many years to come.

I have been a long time Direct Energy customer of 10 years, but before using them, I used the local utility. I like Direct Energy better and I'm happy with them. I call their team on the phone every once in a while and they're okay. The only thing that I'm disappointed on is when Direct Energy first started out, they used to give a rebate, but they don't do that anymore. Other than that, I usually get cheaper gas prices and I'm also happy about that. I would recommend them.

I was researching a new energy company because I was currently paying 18.5 per KwH with TXU. I spoke to a representative at ChooseTexasPower who assisted me with choosing a new company that was more affordable. The switch-over was seamless, no interruption of service. I am on the “free weekends” and my new rate will be 11.5 per KwH (big difference). Haven’t received the first bill yet, so next review to come...

Direct Energy was the first energy provider I saw and when I enrolled with them, they were very helpful and professional. Before I had a prepaid plan, I got 18 cents per kilowatt. With Direct Energy, the rate should be an average of 13.

Direct Energy is cheaper, but I'm not happy with them because they didn’t remind me that my contract was due. I was paying 3.79 and I got a bill that was around $9, so I called them and the rep said that I was on a variable rate because I didn’t renew. I had no idea, so I was very upset about that. I almost did not renew and I almost went with a different company at that point. They have to improve their customer service level.

My landlord had the electricity set up with Direct Energy. With the other company that I had, I didn't have to pay for anything on Fridays and we found that useful. Direct Energy doesn't offer anything like that when I spoke to someone when it was set up. Other than that, Direct Energy's service has been okay.

Direct Energy gives me my gas and they are cheaper. The only complaint I have is I have to call them every year if I want to stick with them. They sent me a letter, but I probably didn’t read it right. I thought that as long as I didn’t call them, they wouldn’t change it. However, they changed it and they dropped me, and I got a really high gas bill. I didn’t like that, so I called them and asked what was going on. The reps were nice and the process went well. I got re-enrolled and I’m gonna make sure that I read the letter well next time. I’m overall satisfied with Direct Energy and it is the better buy.

Direct Energy does very well. They're cheaper than the source I had before and they provide good service in the way of having the cost as low as it can be per unit, in electrical units. Their customer service has been very helpful on the phone as well. When the terms come up for the contract, I give their customer service a call to make sure I’m getting the lowest possible rate and they either extend what I have or find a lower rate for me. I'd recommend Direct Energy.

A door-to-door salesman sold us on Direct Energy when they were going around and giving away the free Nest thing and told us that they bought all the gas when it was cheap and the prices wouldn't fluctuate as much. Although I don't know whether that was true or not. My wife spoke to them and at first, I was angry for her to sign up because we didn't really know anything about it. But we just went through with it and so far, we've been satisfied.

We bought a house and we signed up with Direct Energy. The rep I spoke to was real helpful and took care of everything. The service is fine for the 3 months we've had them so far. I like their the app or web interface that I can see the usage and where we’re at on a weekly basis. It's a nice feature.

I was shopping around for a better rate before I switched to Direct Energy. I never had problems with my previous provider but as far as pricing, there was a big difference. Direct Energy's service is okay and when I've called in, the team has helped most of the time. But their price is going up now too. I have Direct Energy for my electric and gas supply. They had a promotion where they gave $50 in Plenti points and then each month, they gave us Plenti points. All companies have discontinued the Plenti points and since then, Direct Energy closed down their program but they were still always giving rebates like $50 gift cards. Direct Energy buys energy on the market and whatever we consume gets allocated by our utility company. We don't really notice a quality difference, but we notice a price difference and Direct Energy's prices are usually leading everybody else. However, there were a lot of different numbers to call the reps at Direct Energy and they kept referring us to another place if we called one of those. It was very segmented and disorganized, but it got better the second time around and I renewed with them.
They bought a couple other little companies and some numbers go to some centers, while some numbers go to another center. Depending on where you live, you end up bounced all over. And whenever that happens, you get systems that hang up on when you're on hold and all kinds of issues. They don't do it intentionally, but it leads to reachability problems. Their website is also the same way. Depending on your zip code, it takes you to this market or that market. Then, your online account information is difficult to follow and it's not very intuitive. They need to work on their website to make it easy to understand and use.

Direct Energy works and the gas is always the same. We’re supposed to get 7 cents a kilowatt after 2000 kilowatt a month, but I’m gonna have to check that because I don’t think we are getting it yet. Aso, I signed my mother-in-law up for Direct Energy and the customer services said I was supposed to get a $100 or $50 off my bill, but that has not shown up yet.

We owed Direct Energy for $130 and then the bill came to 500 and something dollars. That’s too much. My daughter, who lives in Yonkers and keeps three ACs on all day, doesn’t spend more than $200. And to us, it’s just two ACs on at night and the bill is $394. I’m happy with their service, but something is going on and I have to find out what’s happening.

I used TXU a long, long time ago when I used to live in an apartment. Once I’ve started paying for my own electricity, I've been using Direct Energy ever since. And, with the price of my electricity, I decided to stay with them. I only call them if I have a question when I'm getting to re-up on my contract and I've never had a problem. However, sometimes I have to wait awhile but not often. The longest I've ever had to wait for somebody to come on the line was about three minutes.

I got something in the mail that said that with Direct Energy I would be paying less so I signed up for it. However, it seems like I'm paying more. I have a two-bedroom apartment and I'm on the fixed rate and I'm paying it $257 a month. I know I had a bit of a bounce and then I didn't have all of what they wanted so they put me onto this thing and then it seem like it snowballed. We're trying to get help from the PCAP system and PCAP says we're eligible, but Penelec is saying no. So my girl is waiting to hear back from them today about what's going on. If PCAP is saying we're eligible, why would Penelec care where the money is coming from. I wish the bill was cheaper. It's hard to survive when most of your paycheck goes to the electric bill. Direct Energy seems to be on par or average with everybody else. It's a crappy thing.

My ex-wife had signed up for Direct Energy, and when we split up and she left, I kept the same service. I called Direct Energy to get everything set up, and their people were professional and courteous. On the other hand, I'm waiting on the bill. I was supposed to get an email, but I never got an email this month and I got nothing in the mail to pay it but I know it's either due or coming up.

Direct Energy is my energy supplier and the delivery is by Con Ed. My experience with Direct Energy and with their representatives has been excellent. I went with them for they made me a couple of good offers and the price per kilowatt an hour for the last offer wasn't quite as low as the one before, but it was still very good so I accepted it.

The plans were better with Direct Energy when I switched to them. I've had them for 3 years now and everything was good until they didn’t tell that my contract was up. It was a misunderstanding but everything got better now. I spoke with the manager and he fixed everything. Working with them has been good.

Someone from Direct Energy knocked at my door and he was very nice. He showed me how I can save with Direct Energy and he convinced me to sign up. But I switched to another provider and it was a little bit higher, so then I changed it back to Direct Energy. I tried to keep it since I was penalized to cancel this other guy. I just try to renew the contract when it expires, and I haven’t had any problems with them. The service has been great and I am pretty happy with them right now.

I was very unhappy with Reliant, who charged me 250 a month. Sometimes, they would skip a month of billing me and I had to cough up 500. I was told later that the way they were charging me was illegal. I quit them and I went with Direct Energy. I like Direct Energy. Whenever I call them, I get good customer service. We've been with Direct Energy for more than four years. They gave me good rates, but lately, the rates went up and I don’t have a contract to see what kind of rate I got. Nevertheless, I called them two weeks ago since I gotta work on the rate and the interaction I with them was fine.

Direct Energy has the cheapest cost per kilowatt hour and since we started using it, it has been fine. We're satisfied right now with our service.

I joined Direct Energy a year and a half ago and at the time, it was a good deal. I looked at the prices and Direct Energy offered the best. The prices were better last year than they were this year but not by much. If I want to go on a fixed plan though, they shouldn’t require it to be a year long. I don't have that much time left on my lease, so with me signing up for a year, it means I'm locked into something that I may never use and have to pay for. They should offer shorter fixed plans. Other than that, I've had good service so far from them.

Direct Energy came across my house and I got their service, but my interaction with them has not been good. I used to get $125 July bills with my previous energy provider, but I've been noticing for a while that my electricity bills have gotten higher.

This is definitely not the experience we want for any of our customers Michael. Direct Energy is reasonable. And we've been with the company going to three years and we don't have any problems so far. Direct is better than my previous provider, and I like their price. Everybody should get Direct Energy.

We used TP&L when they were the only energy provider but their pricing was more expensive than that of Direct Energy where I am charged 10 cents per kWh. And when I first got on to do Direct, we got the weekends free. The customer service team at Direct has been really nice. They know what I need and the answer to all my questions. Also, there has been no interruptions since we used Direct. I get good service.

Noah, a guy from Direct Energy, knocked on the door and showed me that their rates were lower. I’ve had several providers in the past and service is about the same. It’s steady and reliable but Direct Energy has better rates in my area at the time, so I made the switch. Now, I’m going into my second year with Direct Energy. One time, someone called to let me know that my contract expired and that I was being charged variable rates. They encouraged me to get into another locked rate which was very helpful and I really appreciated that. With the busyness of life, I don't always pay attention to that, so that was a nice touch on Direct Energy’s part. They got me into a much better rate than what I was paying and it helped save some money which is always good.

I’ve had Direct Energy since I moved on from college in 2014. They had better plans than other gas providers and I’ve had only great experiences with them from seeing power outages and signing up for another contract year. When I called to transfer the services, the rep told me I was no longer under contract. We figured out a contract that would work with what I needed. Direct Energy was very easy to sign up with and resolve any conflicts that might come up. It was worth it and it was hassle-free.

Some people from Direct Energy came and because of the rate, we decided to use them. We used Commonwealth Edison before and when it comes to billing and service, they’re the same. Lately, Direct Energy has been more expensive and if their rates are consistently higher, they’re probably gonna lose a number of customers, me included. But I’ve been calling their team about rates to renew and customer service has been good.

I love Direct Energy. I love not having to pay $300 electric bills in the summer like I do with my house. And I’ve only had one bill that was $100, and it was just $100 with the first year I was living in the apartment. I keep my thermostat like a 78 year-round but usually, I don't have them over $60. I’m very satisfied with Direct Energy.

I've been using Direct Energy for six years now and they're good. They call me regularly. They've given me advice or asked me if I want a plan changed, while most businesses would just send one of those common letters and you have to actually look into it and take more action. Direct Energy also seems more active towards getting the customer aware of what changes are coming. Although it's a part of them to get that confirmation so that they can move forward, I still like that type of service. They usually offer incentives too. I've got two so far over the course of using the service which has been useful and something that I would probably use more than anything else I’ve ever received from another company as far as a complimentary or a service above the line. It's been an overall great experience with Direct Energy. They've been quite useful and helpful.

Direct Energy has been great and they're less expensive than the other providers. If a company isn’t thorough and is rude over the phone, it’s not worth to save a few dollars for the headaches of having to deal with certain customer service reps. But Direct Energy's customer service has been good. Also, you're gonna save a few bucks with Direct Energy, which is the most important part.

A rep from Direct Energy came and knocked on the door. He was very friendly and helpful. He answered questions, and followed through. I didn’t sign everything that night and he followed through with information for me. I feel very good about that. Also, Direct Energy transferred into my utilities, and I had gotten a bill. I had both gas and electric, but I changed the electric back. I was getting it from Connecticut and their prices were going up. They called to warn me and they would let me know when it went back. I was able to transfer out of Direct Energy but I still have them for my gas. The one that I had been with before said they would let me know when whatever problem they were having was straightened out. I had stipulated that in the beginning with Direct Energy and I wasn’t in a contract with them so I could get out. All in all, I recommend Direct Energy.
