SunnyAI is a digital service provided by Puerto Rico-based SunnyAI LLC, which was established in 2024. It uses artificial intelligence to create customized quotes for solar panel systems from independent installers.

SunnyAI allows the consumer to bypass a commission-based solar sales team, and delivers offers that include a system design and financing options. With SunnyAI, you can sign an installation agreement online in minutes.

SunnyAI’s website states that its systems feature REC Alpha Pure panels and Enphase microinverters. SunnyAI installation partner Castaways also cites manufacturers such as Maxeon Solar Technologies, Qcells, Tesla, Span and Qmerit.

To get started with SunnyAI, enter your home address and the amount of your monthly power bill on its website. The service utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze a satellite image of your home and estimate the solar panel system required. It also provides estimates for electricity savings and energy production.

If you choose to proceed with the process, SunnyAI asks that you complete financing preapproval and finalize your agreement. SunnyAI technicians and installation partners then conduct a site visit, schedule your installation and handle local permitting steps.

While SunnyAI does not provide maintenance services, Castaways Energy does. Some of those services include solar panel cleaning, tuneups and repairs. Castaways Energy is only available in Florida.

SunnyAI does not disclose pricing information online. On average, the cost of a solar panel system ranges from roughly $14,000 to $28,000, depending on the system size. A solar storage battery will cost extra – between $7,000 and $18,000.

SunnyAI offers a sign-up bonus of up to $3,000, which is provided after installation.

SunnyAI’s proprietary software promises to find the most affordable lease option from installers. It aims for lease payments that are lower than your current electricity bill.

Castaways Energy provides three payment options: cash upfront, a solar lease or a solar loan. Both have 25-year terms available with no upfront costs. You must have a minimum credit score of 600 to qualify.

With the loan, you own the panels and equipment as you make equal monthly payments over the loan term. With the lease, you don’t own the system, and you rent it for the lease term. There is an option to buy or prepay for the leased equipment.

Castaways Energy partners with Climate First Bank, LightReach, Sunstone Credit, Sunnova and Hestia to provide financing.

Castaways Energy states that the systems it installs are backed by a 25-year warranty, which typically covers repair and replacement costs if there is a manufacturing defect in the panels or other equipment. It’s important to note that the installers — not SunnyAI — provide the warranty. Your installer can provide the specific warranty terms and instructions on how to file a claim.
