SunnyAI is a digital service provided by SunnyAI LLC, which was established in 2024. It uses artificial intelligence to create customized price quotes for solar panel systems from two different installers: Castaways Energy and Mayer Solar.

SunnyAI allows the consumer to bypass a commission-based solar sales team and delivers offers that include system design and financing options. With SunnyAI, you can sign an installation and financing agreement online.

Each installer SunnyAI partners with offers various brands of panels and equipment. SunnyAI’s website states that it works with installers who sell equipment from Tier 1 manufacturers, which typically use higher quality materials and offer extended warranty periods.

To get started with SunnyAI, enter your home address and the amount of your monthly power bill on its website. The service utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze a satellite image of your home and estimate the number of solar panels required. It also provides an estimate for electricity savings in your first year.

If you choose to proceed with the process, SunnyAI asks that you verify that you are the homeowner and that your credit score is at least 650. It also needs verification that the roof is in good condition and less than 15 years old. You’ll need to provide your contact information as well.

SunnyAI will provide custom solar panel design options based on your current home. It will also provide solar lease offers with payments lower than your current electricity bill. If you like an offer, you can sign the lease agreement online.

While SunnyAI does not provide maintenance services, Castaways Energy does. Some of those services include solar panel cleaning, tune-ups and repairs. Castaways Energy is only available in Florida.

It’s unclear whether Mayer Solar offers maintenance services as well. Its installation services are available in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

SunnyAI does not disclose pricing information online. On average, a solar panel system can cost between $14,210 and $28,241, depending on the system size. A solar storage battery will cost extra – between $7,000 and $18,000.

SunnyAI offers a sign-up bonus of up to $3,000, which is provided by check after installation.

Financing

SunnyAI’s proprietary software promises to find the lowest-cost lease option from installers. It aims for lease payments that are lower than your current electricity bill.

Castaways Energy provides two financing options: a solar lease or a solar loan. Both have 25-year terms available with no upfront costs. You must have a minimum credit score of 600 to qualify.

With a loan, you own the panels and equipment as you make equal monthly payments over the loan term. With a lease, the financing company owns the equipment and you rent it for the lease term. There is an option to buy the leased equipment with a lump sum payment.

Castaways Energy partners with Climate First Bank, LightReach, Sunstone Credit, Sunnova and Hestia to provide financing.

Mayer Solar does not provide financing information online. However, it does disclose that it works with Climate First Bank, Enfin, Good Leap, Sunstone and Sunlight Financial for lending options.

SunnyAI states that solar panels are backed by a 25-year full warranty, which typically covers repair and replacement costs if there is a manufacturing defect in the panels or the equipment. It’s important to note that the installers — not SunnyAI — provide the warranty. Your installer can provide the specific warranty terms and instructions on how to file a claim.
