I've been with Finance of America before and I was pleased with the service that was given and how everybody showed me concern. I had my reverse mortgage refinanced and I was able to do everything over the phone. If I had a question, all I did was call and ask the rep about it. He was a nice person. I would recommend Finance of America. I was happy with it and I spoke to my neighbor about their process.

The loan officer has been very good, and Finance of America is easy to work with. However, I had a little trouble establishing a new account online. I need to go online again to establish an account so I can do my business online.

I'm very disappointed with Finance of America Reverse. In the beginning, the loan officer, Julie, was so sweet, nice and talkative, and I had to hear about all her crap, but she was there for me. Now, when I have a question and try to call her, she doesn't answer the phone no matter how many times. If I call twice a day, there is some time in the middle of the day to call me back. Once she got her commission, she couldn't be bothered anymore with me. She said, “Oh, I can't answer the phone. I'm busy with other people.” When I finally found a phone number to talk to a live person besides Julie to help me, somebody in Finance of America admitted to me that once the loan officers get their commission, they can't be bothered with the person anymore.

The rep did well, other than the fact that he had to make excuses. I was trying to get a reduction in the interest rate and I wasn't very happy that the amount of time it took was several months. It was extremely long. Other than the fact that I had already been with Finance of America originally, I would have stopped.

The mortgage application process was organized and it took a couple of months. I talked to the rep, Kevin, many times. He was persistent and nice, and I felt comfortable. My experience was good, and I like it. I would recommend Finance of America Reverse.

I was comfortable with Finance of America. They did as good a job as anybody would. The process only takes three weeks by the time you go back and forth with everybody and get all the things done. My rep was a nice lady who did what she could do. The rates and terms were commensurate with what was available at the time.

The guy who helped me was really good. But the process took eight weeks and that was too long. Other than that, I'm comfortable with the rate and terms. It's slightly different to what I had before.

I could call them and talk to a real person. They were very prompt in responding to whatever we needed. We worked with Katie and she was excellent. She answered my phone calls and texts. She let us know what was going on, what we needed to do and where we were. From beginning to end, the process was over a month.

Refinancing with them was very easy and it was a very nice and smooth experience.. Everybody I worked with was wonderful. The rep was extremely helpful and always returned my calls immediately if I had any questions.

Refinancing through Finance of America was really easy. The application process was a couple of days. They have lower interest rates.

The process was smooth. The rep I worked with was great. We talked to him and I said, “I don't have any idea what the house is worth.” And he said, “Well, you know, you can always try.” And they paid for the appraisal. And they said, “You know, if you don't get a payout, well done, that's fine. At least you know what your house is worth.” So, I said, “Fine.”

Everything was pretty easy.

Finance of America Reverse faxed me this and that. But overall, it was a smooth process. Also, their response was quick. I had good access. When I needed something, I got a call back promptly. So, I appreciated that a lot. I would recommend them.

Katie May was wonderful, very helpful, and answered all the questions that I asked. When she told me she would call me back, she did. And she was very open about explaining and answering questions that I had. I signed what I had to sign with their notary, ad nauseam. And things are okay.

The district manager that I worked with told me what I had to have. So far, it has been a wonderful experience. I was able to do some things with the house that needed to be done.

The rep explained to me very well every facet, every step of the way. If I had a question, Finance of America answered it just like that. They seem prepared, that they handled often multiple questions like that before from other people. They sent me a booklet that I can follow through with them, so it's easier to understand. The thing that was most irritating was if we're talking as a class, that I understand what this was all about and how it worked. Other than that, everything was easy. Things will be a lot easier if you're caught up on property taxes than if you're behind.

After I had several conversations with Finance of America and looked into it, I decided to refinance. I liked the rep. I got a lower interest rate. So, I was happy.

I enjoyed working with Finance of America very much. The rep was very helpful and knowledgeable, and easy to contact. He was detailed in all the information that he gave, and when I had a question about something, he was quick to straighten it out and reply. Also, he was able to put it together quickly. Now my principal doesn't grow as fast as it was growing before. The rep was able to lower my rates from 5.75% to 3.06%. It was more than 2 percentage points lower, so principal growth is lower.

Everyone was wonderful. The woman that coordinated for me was great. The process took a while, but it wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be. It helped a lot that things went smoothly. It went right on schedule. I expected for there to be delays along the way, yet there wasn't. The only thing that came up for me that made me step back and pause was the appraisal of my property. It was appraised just recently, and it has been appraised since then. And in both of those situations, it was appraised between 300,000 and $400,000 more than what the appraiser came up with for the reverse mortgage. So, I realized that affected how much money I would be able to draw out. But it was still enough that I felt I could go along with it. That is something that I should have questioned more.

Finance of America's rates were comparable, but some of the fees were less. And I liked the person that I spoke with that was also in San Diego and did business out of there. I expected, as was the rep, that the appraisal would be higher than it was. There was only one that I realized afterward that they didn't credit for the counseling fee. That's something that Finance of America could consider for future reference.

I redid my reverse mortgage with Finance of America for a lower interest rate. The rep did a good job. Also, the rate is better than what I had.

I was contacted by a different reverse mortgage person but she was pushy and I didn't like that. I ended up going with Finance of America and they gave me a quote. I worked with Andy and we ran into a few snags and he took care of everything. The process took about three weeks from start to finish. Finance of America had to talk to underwriters. They needed somebody to come out and do an evaluation and it had to be a certain amount in order to get the reverse mortgage and so we did it twice. I would have liked the rates to be a little bit better. But then the rates of the lady that kept calling me weren't as good. So, I felt pretty comfortable with what the rate was. It was fair and equitable. Andy expedited everything and it went well.

Finance of America Reverse got me exceptional rates and followed through. The escrow people came out when they signed the papers. The rep was not fully prepared and he made a few errors, which caused a little anxiety, but it all got done. He squeezed me in on a good deal and it allowed me to save over 10 years $170,000. Finance of America did a good job.

Finance of America came to the house and took the application. When I first started the process to refinance, I was told that there wouldn't be any closing costs and there wouldn't be any additional charges of closing. But because I had a waiting period, I was told I had to wait specifically until my original loan exceeded one year. And during that waiting period, I guess things changed, because I had closing costs and others.

The application process was cumbersome. There is much paperwork. But I liked the rep. She's cool. I also liked the rate and terms.

It took me a while to get to a person who actively did transactions. But once I got the right person, it was excellent. He was always one step ahead of me in terms of information. He got me some numbers that were excellent. It went smoothly in terms of the transaction and in keeping me up-to-date and informed as we moved ahead. There were some extra fees that went one way, and the other once or twice, and he explained them to me. This isn't my first loan so I know those things happen. But it was as long as he could explain them and headed them off at the pass so I didn't find out about them some other way.

I already had a loan with Finance of America Reverse. The process was the same as it was the first time. It was just a little slower, and I just took it because of the pandemic. The first time was very quick. This time, it could have been done a little quicker. I didn't understand why it took so long. It was dragged out a little bit. My loan officer was very good. He was very attentive and accommodating. So far, it's been a good experience. I was comfortable because I already had gone through it with them before. They're usually pretty quick to respond when I have any concerns or questions. The interest rates were lower, so that's the main reason I wanted to refinance again.

I did a search on the best companies and Finance of America Reverse was rated as first in the site I was looking at. I also had a little knowledge of the other company that does all the television advertising and I heard a couple things about them from friends that were a little less than shining. So, I thought I would go through Finance of America Reverse first. Applying with them was a fairly simple process and I didn't seem to come across any particular problem. The gentleman that I worked with, Tim, was extraordinarily helpful, very thorough, and very professional in how he dealt with this. In the end, I only had very few questions because he talked to me about what I could and shouldn't expect. He made the whole process very easy to go through and how things went exceeded my expectations.

I refinanced and the application process was good. I was very comfortable with them.

Finance of America's process was terrible. I have to go through every detail. Closing day was put off at least 10 times. It was a disaster. We had to rent hotel rooms. It was such a headache. The loan officer was making promises that she really didn't know anything about. Once the selling price was determined, an appraisal was required and indicated a lower value. She didn't know we had to go back. The process took too long. It was not a very happy experience.

I tried AAG and their procedure was very tedious and very long. What stopped me from taking a mortgage with them was because they undervalued my property by over $200,000, which didn't make any sense in today's market. So, then I looked on the internet on all other ones and people's experience. I tried Finance of America Reverse and the gentleman that I was working with was very good at working through the situations to get everything done and get it appraised properly. That was what made the difference. He was there to help all the time and work through the problems and the issues and got it done.

The rates were acceptable. I found rates a bit cheaper elsewhere but I enjoyed working with my rep. However, in the background what the company was doing and how they did it was poorly done. I was not happy with how they did things. They asked for information and questions that I had never heard any other company ask for. It was craziness. The process took way too long. The appraiser and the backroom operations people kept asking for stuff over and over. They wanted to see a history of having insurance on all the properties I've ever owned for I don't remember how many years. That shouldn't matter. What should matter is that I have insurance on the current property.

We just closed on our Finance of America Reverse mortgage and are very happy with the process. Our reverse mortgage specialist, Nicole ** was great. She quickly to handled any questions or concerns we had during the process. We completed every step from our dining room. How simple is that! Nicole is very professional, knows the reverse mortgage process well. She kept us up to date throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain each process before we started. I will gladly recommend Nicole to any of my friends that may want to look into a reverse mortgage.

My rep found what suited us best. She didn't just pick what came up first on whatever list their management provides. Also, even when she had appointments or meetings, she would let me know what was going on. So I knew when she'd be available. But, the rates could have been better. Part of the complications was that I come from overseas. There, money is a lot easier to come by and rates are lower.

Anytime I called, the rep had the answers I was looking for and she did great. I was happy with the rates I got compared to what I had before they were lowered. The mortgage insurance was quite a bit lower and I was overall happy with the whole process. This is a great company to go with. It's fair and they're easy to communicate with. They're on the ball.

The lady I talked to was Nicole. She took care of my account and she was absolutely wonderful. She explained everything. I couldn't have asked for somebody to be any more knowledgeable. She has been in real estate for a long time. So, she knew all the ins and outs. She had a helper there when she took her vacation that stepped right up and was also great. Finance of America Reverse sent someone out here to take whatever they needed for the legal part of the process. In fact, they sent out the notary person twice, once for the application and once to finalize. They also had us go through a session with a counselor to make sure we understood reverse mortgage. The man I chose was very, very good, and very efficient. Finance of America Reverse did very good.

It seemed Finance of America Reverse being number two wanting to be number one was more accommodating. We were able to talk to them anytime we needed a question answered. They were very responsive and did the right thing, and got us to closing on time. So, we're very happy with their service. There was always something here or there. But we got a lot of attention to detail. And being a real estate agent having sold 900 homes, we’re very familiar with how the process works. Not so much with reverse mortgages, but the mortgage industry and what's required for the most part. So, it was a joint effort at some points along the way, clarified things, and hashed a couple issues out. But it complicated things a bit because I am a real estate agent and RE/MAX earned a commission. Their money is their business. So, we had a little discussion about that. Other than that, it was smooth sailing.

The application process was fine and we closed in 30 days. It was quite easy. They made sure they had all the appropriate information that they needed. But it's better to contact who I'm talking to. Sometimes I'm put on hold and then Finance of America calls me back. Sometimes they don't. My rep gave us his personal cell phone number if we had any questions which I thought was really nice. I was very comfortable working with him.

The application process was lengthy but good. There was a lot of paperwork and things involved with title and Escrow. It was a month or so but it wasn't too bad. The rep I worked with was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable, patient and she would help research any discrepancy. If there was any, she would try to take care of it from her end. Also, Finance of America has very good rates and I like them. I'm very satisfied with that. She also called us when the rates went down and asked if we would like to take advantage of that. We would not have known about it if she hadn't called us on her end. I would tell others to talk to our rep 'cause she was really good.

We already had a reverse mortgage, and we had it with Finance of America Reverse. How I do business is if I am happy with somebody that I am doing business with and even though I hear from outside individuals, I will give them first opportunity to match or give us the same benefit that somebody else is offering before arbitrarily switching. Being old school, we tend to be loyal to those who have given us good service.

Finance of America's folks made the best offer of different ways of doing it that made the most sense to me. Because they had a variable thing and a fixed rate and some other stuff that were all options. And Finance of American's gal that helped me through all this adventure did a good job. She worked hard to make it happen. This time took longer than I'd like to refinance the house before. But it did because it kept coming up with more different things that didn't make sense to me. But that's just part of the process. It was between the mortgage insurance and all the other requirements that are a bit different than a regular mortgage that were screwy to me. Other than that, it worked out good.

The process took longer than I thought. My wife doesn't have a middle name and the people at Finance of America couldn't get that straight. They always wanted to throw that middle name in there. So, we had a signature problem. It was a frustrating experience that we couldn't get the signature right. Other than that, the rep was all right. She was frustrated as well as I was because they couldn't get the signature thing right.

Very prompt. Answered all my questions immediately. I was never made to feel dumb or annoying. I have a contact person I can reach out to at any time during this process. The longest delay was just getting an appraiser to my home.

I really liked Taylor, the rep I worked with. He had a lot on his plate, but he handled things well. The counselor was also somewhat informative.

Everything seemed to go okay. The loan officer was extremely nice, and also very pleasant, helpful, and attentive.

My loan officer was Ali and he did a fantastic job. I loved him. He was always so attentive whenever I called him. If he wasn't there, he’d always call me back. The counseling was quick and easy. I thought it was going to take about half an hour or so but the guy went through it so fast. So far, everything seems to be working out as well as it should be.

The loan officers were good. The only gripe I got with the process was it was long.

The whole process took almost four months. I had to give Finance of America Reverse everything that they wanted, which the other company already had. The loan officer was okay after I finally figured out what was going on. The process finally went through, and it was closed. I'm happy.

When I called Finance of America Reverse, I got a lady that was very helpful. But the application process was awful. Every time you give them something, they would say they need more things. They wanted stuff that wasn't even germane to the loan. They can streamline the process a lot better. I was ready to walk away from it several times because we were just going to go on an endless, “I need this. I need that,” till they wear you out, and then just say, “Well, we can't do the deal because you're not getting us what we want.”

The rep, Tim, was very personable and informative. He kept me up to date. However, the underwriter could have been a little more precise and communicated a little more with Tim because I had to ask the status then Tim had to go get the information. But that was the only thing that was a little frustrating. Tim did his job, but the processes were the one that held things up.

Autumn was my broker and she did a great job. Everything was done wonderfully by those people. The first time I did a reverse mortgage, they weren't that great. This time, it was wonderful.

Linda, the lady I worked with from Finance of America Reverse, was always very prompt in what she did and very friendly too. Every time I had a question or anything related to a question, if she was busy on the phone, she got back to me within 5 to 10 minutes. The paperwork I initially got, all 70 some pages of it, had different rates on it and different columns. Even though I read the descriptions on them, I wasn't certain I understood them. I had to call her on some of that. I also wanted to verify how the current rates are on loans like this, how they would change and what was the max value and she had all those answers too.

The application with Finance of America Reverse was fine. I thought the underwriter was an idiot though. We signed all the documents and we sent them back in. I got a letter and it said got more documents to sign. I called and said, "What documents are those?" The guy said, "Don't worry about it. We have them all signed." At the last minute, the underwriter said, "We want all these things initialed." There was nothing they needed any initial because it said at the bottom of the form, “I attest that all the above answers are correct.” So, none of it needed to be entered. Other than that, it was a great experience. I would recommend them highly. Ryan, the rep I worked with, was a good guy. He did an excellent job.

The process was a little bit more involved than I had expected, but it wasn't really that bad. All the paperwork took months longer than I expected. But I was happy with everything that occurred with Finance of America. The rep I worked with was really good.

The process took a lot longer than I thought from beginning to end. It took the appraiser almost two months to get out here. He was from Coos Bay after all, so he was only five miles away. Also, I'm kind of worried because it's a variable rate. The way the economy is going right now, I don't know what's going to happen. But my rep was cool and down to earth.

My rep, Chuck, was a good guy. However, the process took a long time which was probably three months. The worst thing about the whole thing was when they did give me the money, the bank put a 30-day hold on the check, so I can't even cash the check to get the money. I only got half the money. I won't get another half till freaking next year. They should be more explanatory about the whole process including how long it's going to take.

When I first did the reverse mortgage, it went over to Finance of America and when I refinanced this time, I went with the people that I knew. I had knowledge of who they were and how things went with them. Their customer service is very good.

I compared Finance of America to AIG and some other companies, and Finance of America had the best deal. They also credited me a lot of money, a lot more than the other companies would.

Ali, my loan officer, was very nice and cooperative. He’s a good guy. Any questions I had, I’d call him, and he’d take care of it for me. Everything with Finance of America Reverse went great. I had to get information from Social Security, and they wanted proof with everything, and then they got it. So, I’m glad they did.

It was terrific with Finance of America Reverse and I'd definitely recommend them. They were the most responsive and the process was managed very well. My rep was the best. She was very good on follow-up. She tried her hardest to get everything to work. She was very efficient too.

I have been with Finance of America Reverse for a long time and all the arrangements have been perfect.

The two people at Finance of America Reverse I've dealt with over the months were both very responsive. They followed up with me a lot more than the other company I was considering. They were very proactive and impressed me a lot. Anytime I had questions, they either knew the answers, or they got the answers promptly and got back to me. Monica was the person I was working with for most of this time and she was great to work with. She was the one that was extremely responsive. She was a very good go-between, a very good representative for Finance of America Reverse. She made the process as easy as I think it could be.

I had about a hundred different companies calling me but I chose Finance of America Reverse and I'm glad I did. I'm very satisfied with the company. They helped me so much because when you get older, it's hard to get financing. I appreciate the credit line, but I would rather have more cash. But I appreciate my rep. During that time, I was not doing so well and when you're sick, you don't want to deal with anything. There was a pandemic and I stayed in. It was hard for me to get things together for my rep, but she was very patient and kind.

Getting the mortgage through Finance of America Reverse cost me an extra $1,000 because I had to have a second appraisal and not understanding that I had to pay for it. I thought the company was gonna pay for it. But COVID made everything different than what it could have been such as being able to contact people and access to certain information. A lot of things were done differently trying to accommodate the loan applicants and we have to try to understand that because everyone's stressed out with this COVID.

All my paperwork was in order but there were a lot of unexpected delays. It still took three months to get it finalized which is a lot longer than it should have. Finance of America Reverse did, though, give me a credit that was a generous thing to do for the delays and made up for any financial impact delay it had on me. The underwriters were part of the issue. They were saying that they needed to satisfy the investors. With this type of a loan, you scrutinize it more. You got to make sure the property has the value it needs to withstand all the reverse feature of this particular loan.

The process was purely hell. It lasted for about six months. It was a never-ending process. They asked for one thing and said we were ready to close. Then the next week, they asked for something totally different. It was always never knowing what's what.

I tried Finance of America Reverse and it worked out so nice. There were people that went above and beyond what they had to do. My rep was great. It didn't matter when you called her. If you needed her help, she was was always right there. I was getting so far behind and couldn't even make the monthly bills. Now, I've got my bills paid.

The application process was very smooth. I felt good about it. The rep, Ryan, was a great guy. He told me what we needed to do. I did what I was told. Now, the money is in my account. I'm happy. We had a good experience.

One department doesn't deal with the other, and the other department needed the same information. So by the time they inquired, I had the stuff together, sent it in and that happened a couple of different times. So that wasted three weeks all by itself. But the rate is great.

The process went very well and I was very pleased. The rep was very attentive and kept with me the whole time. If I have questions still, he's there to answer them for me. This is a refinance to a reverse mortgage and he was at the same company that was holding my original mortgage. It gave me a foot up on it because they already had a lot of the information so it made it a lot easier. It's a long process and there's a lot of signing to do, but it was all expected. There were no surprises. Finance of America Reverse is probably better than some companies that I had used.

We had a great experience with Finance of America Reverse. The lady that worked with us, Monica, was awesome. I’ve been in the finance business and in the real estate business since I was 16. I don't know that I've met a person that’s any knowledgeable than her. We’ve lived in our house for 50 years. There was stuff that came out of the woodwork like a previous loan hasn’t been paid off when it was done and she cleaned it all up. She and her people were incredible. We also worked with them on the rate and I’m very happy with it.

I interviewed a few companies and found out that I was comfortable with Finance of America especially Tim. He was a good representative. He was very supportive and I enjoyed talking with him. I found him to be a very honest person. I had a good experience compared to other companies I've been dealing with previously with different mortgages.

I have my existing reverse mortgage and at one point, a notary came over and we signed a bunch of papers. Then, we had counseling over the phone. I had to sign 40 different pages, which was daunting but other than that, the process was not a problem. The house got appraised and I had to do quite a bit of stuff to make it acceptable. I had to put a railing on the back steps and there was a lot of work involved in that. I was surprised that the appraiser would be telling me to do all this stuff. So, that took a while. But the loan agent, Chuck, was efficient and courteous, and answered all my questions. He had the thing with the appraiser and all the repairs I had to do but he hung with me through all that. It was a good experience. Finance of America Reverse kept me informed and I knew what was going on. Working with them allowed me to do a lot of things that I needed to do. So, it's been a positive impact.

Taylor did a good job ushering me through the hoops one must navigate to get a reverse mortgage. He returned my calls in less than a day but seldom answered directly. I am glad that the reverse mortgage came through!

I started the process with Finance of America Reverse in January. But it didn't close until two months ago. Not only did they ask for a lot of documents, but they would ask for the same documents over again and it would take a long time. There was the guy who I spoke with and he was great. But he had to go and talk to the underwriters and then the underwriters seemed to be fairly clueless. They would want things that I thought were not necessary. All they did was slow things down.

The application process with Finance of America Reverse was very simple and easy. I could ask them any questions I had and it was solved. I worked with Robert and he was helpful on getting things accomplished or find out if this guy's gonna do this or that. Also, the rate and terms of the reverse mortgage work for me.

I base a lot of my decisions on going through a Google search on what companies are major players in the industry and Finance of America Reverse came up as either the leader in the industry or somewhere near the top. I took a look again, specifically at their financial performance, what they've done and any evaluations that other people have made. And it seemed like the best choice out of the three companies I did that with. Then, I called and the first person I talked to was an account executive who led me through the process. It was a bit of an effort to collect all the forms and information, and qualify everything. So, my experience with the representative was very good and the process was successfully completed in an appropriate amount of time. My response met my expectations.

I just closed on a Reverse Mortgage REFI, a process I was dreading, i.e. all the conversations and questions, all the explanations, all the signatures, and all the time involved. Then I had a phone introduction with Eleadah, 'EJ', **. 'EJ' is professional, knows her job but doesn't do it by rote. She took a general interest in my position as a client. She quickly picked up on my personality and responded accordingly. Eleadah thoroughly explained each document she sent or requested from me and answered all my questions. She explained each step in the process as it advanced and got me through completion without a hitch, so to speak. It was a pleasure working with 'EJ'. After my initial conversation, I was confident to go with Finance of America Reverse. The process was long but the rep made the difference. She was very professional and courteous. I loved her approach to everything.

The people I spoke with at Finance of America Reverse were very nice and there was this one lady, Melissa, and she was great. If I had a question or wondered how it was going, she was there. She was always very positive and not pushy at all, and I had a good feeling. The rates and terms were the same as the other reverse mortgage that I had a couple of years ago but I was a little surprised I didn't get more money because the housing industry has gone sky high. We all know it's gonna fall because it did before and I got about 5,000. My home was valued at 270 and went up to 320. I was surprised that it wasn't more, but that's okay.

I'm 83 years old and we were doing a reverse mortgage. We refinanced it and Oli, a young man from San Diego, California, helped me through the steps of doing that. He did a great job and he was a nice guy. Four months later, we’re now moving and I’m in the process of doing another reverse mortgage on the new home. I'm working with a gentleman in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Matthew, who has done a fantastic job. Everybody I've ever talked with at Finance of America Reverse has been perfect. I've been in the insurance business for 40 some odd years and this is the best people I've ever dealt with in my life. The application and the underwriting process was smooth and going through it a few months ago and going through it again, it was the same.

The application process with Finance of America Reverse took a couple of days and then, it took a week for someone to do an appraisal. The rep was a good guy. He was there when I needed to get a hold of him to ask questions. I got a low rate and I have no problem with it. Everybody I know is terrified of reverse mortgage and the more I’m in it, the less I’m afraid. I get a little letter every month so far. It was hard to get the insurance premiums picked up and that didn't happen for three months. But everything else worked.

I saw Finance of America Reverse's ad on the internet and I liked what I saw. Then, I called the number and I liked the salesperson, Camille. But we had a lot of problems. I'm in a condo, so we had to get the condo approved by HUD for a reverse mortgage and that took a lot of effort. But we got through it. Then, they used the wrong form for the reverse mortgage and we had to start all over again. They used the one for a single family house, not a single family condo. What could go wrong did go wrong but it wasn't so bad because the salesperson was understanding, helpful, and explained everything that happened. We started in November and we closed in July. That was a long time but I could see that they were working through the problems. Aside from that, the whole process was done over the phone and over the internet. I'm used to going to visit bankers in their offices but I was able to overcome that problem as well.

The one local provider in town had a lot higher rate compared to Finance of America Reverse. The process with Finance of America took a little too long because we had to have two appraisals. The application and underwriting process took six months. Every time they say it was good to go, the underwriting wanted something else done. Our rep, Ryan, told us, that doesn't happen normally but we happened to be one of the lucky ones.

I already had my reverse mortgage with Finance of America Reverse and so I did a refi with them. The guy I had explained things when I had doubts. He was very encouraging and he kept up too. He never left me wondering. He would call me before I'd call him and he always answered. It greatly reduced my interest rate and my MIP. It was something I couldn't afford to not do. I would advise people to call Finance of America Reverse.

Finance of America Reverse did really well. The rep I worked with was really good. He explained a lot to me. I was impressed with the knowledge that he had and the friendliness. If he didn't know an answer, he would get back to me with the answer.

I hated the process of getting a reverse mortgage so much. I will never do that again. The federal government took way too long. Almost 200 documents to sign and to initial. It's insane. On top of that, they were supposed to have done the evaluation on my house by February the 10th. It was not until the middle of May that they finally gave a judgement. It was extremely frustrating and irritating. Because of such, I will never, ever, do that again.

Our agent, Dennis, was fantastic. From start to finish, we never had a problem, never felt any type of uneasiness that you might feel sometimes when you're dealing with a finance company like that. I would recommend them to anybody and especially him. He was great.

The process with Finance of America went very well. They worked just as very well to get it accomplished. However, it took a little longer than I had hoped. But that was because we had a house in a trust and I could not find a copy of my trust. We had one lawyer said he would work with me. After a few days, then I called a different lawyer. So, that wasn't because of Finance's part, that was because of the trust and our lawyer didn't follow through with me.

The process with Finance of America was long and drug out and it just took forever. But the rep I worked with was very good. I got the impression that her hands were tied in a lot of things. It seemed like with this type of mortgage, the government's got their hands in it big time. But the rates and terms were good. Everything came out like I was promised and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

I liked the rep I worked with, Jason. I felt wonderful working with him. But they were very slow in getting this new reverse mortgage through. But Finance of America Reverse is great.

Recently decided to refinance my reverse mortgage. Taylor of Finance of America was most helpful during the whole process. Taylor is a knowledgeable and efficient thinker. He is also a no nonsense guy, which is very much to my liking. I would highly recommend Finance of America to any one interested in a reverse mortgage.

The process seemed to be longer and more tedious than first expected, but the overall outcome was very positive. I have already recommended Finance of America to family and friends. I did the reverse mortgage because I wanted to paint my house and do my floor, but in the end, Finance of America Reverse paid $6,000 and they could've given a little bit more than that. When you do a $6,000, you don't have the money to do what you really want to do with the house. But other than that, the rep I dealt with was very polite and he explained what I needed to know. His name was Scott and he was a nice person.

Linda, the rep, was magnificent. She took care of everything and was right on top of every single little item. We didn't have one minute's worth of trouble. I was amazed at the cost of closing and there were some challenges with the process in that the appraiser didn't even come and wrote wrong information on our property, wrong pictures of the wrong house, etcetera. Finance of America Reverse wouldn't change their mind on what they offered but it was close enough to what we had originally talked about that we accepted the offer.

The whole process with Finance of America Reverse took almost a year. I called up every four months and asked what was going on. They would say that they were still waiting for final approvals. My mother and father both passed away and they needed documentation to that effect. This went on for months and months. So I finally went to Providence to get death certificates and sent them in. The next thing I know, everything was approved.

It was a long process with Finance of America Reverse. Fortunately, I had a lot of help. Joe was the agent and he walked me through this whole thing from beginning to end. I didn't know what I was doing. He sent me paperwork to sign. I had to contact the bank and there were a lot of details that were involved. He recommended that I get a counselor. He sent me a whole list of counselors that are available throughout the country and he recommended a couple. He said I can pick whoever I want. I just chose one and she was great and was a bipartisan person. She wasn't advocating one way or the other. She just gave me information about the paperwork that I got from Finance of America, so she was very good. I felt comfortable talking to her. She gave us a lot of advice. Joe also got an appraisal for us. A person came down. He was a notary. Had to sign more papers there.

Their refinance process was straightforward and simple. Their customer service was seamless and they kept me on top of everything.

The application process was very good. The whole process took a few weeks to get completed. I also felt very comfortable working with the rep. We're very pleased with our experience with Finance of America Reverse.

I worked with Taylor from Finance of America Reverse. He helped me through the reverse mortgage process. I was very thankful for his assistance. He walked me through the process day by day, answered all my questions, and followed up with everything that needed to be followed up. He told me exactly what he needed to do. When I accomplished that, he reviewed all of the information that I provided and gave me some good feedback on that. I relied on all that information until finally we got through the final process.

Finance of America Reverse was the first company to answer me and I've had a very good experience with them. They gave me all the information I needed up front. And when I had to wait for different things, they constantly gave me updates. I was very comfortable with them. I got a good rate too.

The reverse mortgage process took much too long. It should have been done in 30 days but it took the better part of three months. My rep was fine but the procedure was a real pain. The trouble is that my wife is in a nursing home and she owns half the property. She's handicapped and she can't sign her name. I gave Finance of America a copy of a power of attorney. I thought that would be enough but it wasn't. Be prepared for the length of time the process will take. It doesn't happen as quickly as you think it will or as quickly as your representative tells you. Other than that, I'm very happy with their service.

The application process was pretty good. I was very happy with Amber, the girl that got me going on it. Working with Finance of America has made my life better.

The rep of Finance of America Reverse was very helpful and we worked together right from the beginning to end. It was frustrating for her, frustrating for me and my wife, but we got it done. The end result is, we really didn't get anything that we wanted other than we don't have a mortgage payment anymore. We didn't get much cashout. We have a house that's appraised for 638 and we owed 340 on it, and they wouldn't give us $50,000 cash out so we could pay a couple of small bills and have a little reserve. There was way too much paperwork too. The guy that okays it at the very end was also a nitpicker. Just awful.

I contacted Finance of America Reverse and discovered that they charged either none or minimal origination fee. They were somewhat cheaper than the competition. The interest rates were roughly comparable. The process went smoothly too. I worked with a lady named Linda and she was very good to deal with. She kept in touch and facilitated the whole process. If I had something that could have gone smoother, it had to do with the property appraisal and the closing. During the COVID thing, it complicated all of that.

My rep was a down-to-earth person and I enjoyed working with him. He was clear about everything and honest. I got very good terms.

The agent was responsive and sent me the information he said he would. Like most underwriters the process was a bit of a pain and was redundant sometimes. But other than that, it was an okay experience. Things came out the way the agent said they would. Check this company out.

Working with them made my life easier. The young man I talked with was very informative and had a good personality. Whenever he felt there was something we needed to know, he'd give us a call. But the process was kind of messy. They could have better communication between their different departments.

Everything took a lot longer than expected. They give me excuses that it's COVID but the process still took a long time. But they did a good job and we're happy with the results.

Working with Finance of America Reverse was wonderful. I have a very positive ending to it all. There were some issues in slowness, but part of that was my condo had to have a single unit approval. So, there was an extra step. It made it a little longer, but they were good. They handled all that for me. They submitted the paperwork. I had to get a lot of paperwork from the condo association and forwarded all this. At some point, my condo association personnel was forwarding information to them too to help get that accomplished.

My reverse was already with Finance. So, when the interest rate decreased, and I kept getting notifications about it from all these loan companies, that's when I started looking into it. I did not know that I could do it with Finance. So, I contacted and found out what others were doing. As I was about to make a decision, I thought, “Well, why don't I contact Finance? They already have one on my house. They have all the info.” So, I contacted their customer service and found that Finance would do that. It took a while though.

Barb, the agent of Finance of America Reverse, was fantastic. She talked me through everything. I understood completely what was going on, what was gonna happen and what needed to be done.

The company that we had originally written a reverse mortgage through, AAG, is no longer certified to write in Massachusetts. The servicing company was Finance of America Reverse. The application process was really arduous. It was much more difficult than the first time around. The in-house people needed to have more experience with what they were doing because several times we had to redo things that they hadn't processed correctly or they hadn't told us about to begin with. It just went on and on. It was not a pleasant experience. It took a lot more time than it ought to have.

I’d recommend Finance of America Reverse highly. They had my first reverse mortgage So, I did my second one through them as well. The second one was a lot smoother and easier. There was a lot less paperwork. Amber, the rep I worked with, took care of a lot more stuff. The first guy did a good job, but Amber went over and above on everything. She made everything easy and was really accommodating. I was really happy with her and the finance she did. Every time I needed to talk to her, she was right there and she always got back to me, even on weekends. She just did a really good job for me.

Finance of America Reverse was very helpful. My actual contact person, Andrew, was very good. As far as their application process, it was all right but there was so much duplication. We signed the same form at least three times. I signed forms for him, and then there were the same forms and the package that we DocuSigned. I’ve never known why they can't be as streamlined. Other than that, I thought the rates were great.

The rep I worked with was very good. Helped me in every aspect. He stayed in contact, answered questions, gave clear, precise information upfront, during and after. The entire process was very smooth and good. However, the underwriter had so many questions. They asked for my HOA dues, which I had already provided. I provided them a copy of the receipt. They said, "No. We want three years going back." So then I had to go on my files and find three receipts for three years. They did another thing similar to that and I thought that was silly. But I figured they put you through that to see how willing you are to work with them. But Finance of America Reverse did an excellent job and I really appreciate it.

The rep of Finance of America Reverse followed through and she was there when I needed her. I like the way she does things. Also, their down payment was less than a couple of other places that I checked.

The application process with Finance of America Reverse can be a royal pain. There was a biggest hang-up. I was born in England. It took three months because somebody in Finance of America wanted the department in England to put it in writing that my pension was going to be continuous until I die. This took three months to get straightened out. It was like during the COVID. You can't get them on the phone, and they won't give you personal information with an email. It was back and forth. It was horrible. But everything’s straightened out. What I've got now is very good. I’m very happy with it. I would highly recommend Finance of America Reverse, especially with somebody in my position. I don't have any family here. I don't have to worry about them being upset because they're not gonna have any money when I die.

I was turning 65 and I still owed quite a bit on my house. I was going to be strapped for money. It would have been hard for me to continue making my house payments. I applied for a reverse mortgage with Finance of America Reverse. The application process was very simple, very clear and understandable. I got a hold of my rep Toby and he was more knowledgeable than the rest of them. He worked with me and kept me in the loop. With the other people I called, I wouldn’t get a call back for several days. The application process was a lot easier than taking out a bank loan. I got good terms. The only thing I was upset with was when they had the appraisal, the guy that appraised it, he never came in the house. He just drove by and I didn't even know he did that. We had remodeled the inside and he said wouldn't come in due to COVID. So, he appraised me low. Other than that, Finance of America was great and I recommend them to everybody.

People should look into Finance of America Reverse. Their application process was excellent. We were supposed to get a welcome package and we never got that. But the rep we had was very professional, worked very hard for us, and was in good communication.

Finance of America Reverse gave me a good rate, the same that the other people was giving me, and the papers were there already to refinance, so it was easier. Aside from that, the rep I worked with was very good and I did it because of him. The whole process took a couple of months and everything went great. I like them.

We had been going through the process of setting up the reverse mortgage with a different company and we had gotten to the counseling aspect of the application. During that counseling application, it was suggested to us that we were paying too much and that we might want to consider other lenders. Then, I went online and looked up the five top reverse mortgage companies. Finance of America was one of them. Two of them didn't answer their phone and one of them wouldn't give information without formal application.

Finance of America Reverse's process seemed to be a bit drawn-out and took five weeks to complete. But the person I worked with answered all my questions right away. I have a very high need to know and he provided me with tons of information. His name was Tim and he explained everything as many times as I wanted him to. It was almost like going to a class and he was an exceptional officer. A reverse mortgage is more complicated than a regular one. But as long as I was working with Tim, I felt everything went fine. He even had a phone number that I could call so I wouldn't have to use my telephone, which I have to pay to use.

I was going to go with Longbridge, the company that I'm with, but Toby was very persistent. I was concerned that Longbridge wasn't doing me right, but come to find out they were totally right with what they were doing but I went with Toby with Finance of America. The appraisal took so long. What was upsetting me with Longbridge was the appraisal because I had two appraisals and they wanted another one. I thought they were scamming me. What I didn't like with Finance of America was that when it started out, Toby was telling me it was going to be $500. Then it turned out to be $1,100. When I did sign the contract, it went up to $1,200. I didn't like that at all. But I have the reverse mortgage. I'm grateful to have it. Toby has answered everything that I needed to be answered. He's been right there every time I've called to ask a question.

Everybody impressed me. I started out with one person and then, we went from him to his boss. Then we met the boss of the whole company too. They were all very good and nice people. The only person who wasn't very good at her job was the notary who came over here to get our signatures. She messed up so bad so she had to come back again. So that wasn't good. But that's not the fault of Finance of America Reverse. They’re good people to talk to. And yet, when they're doing this kind of process, they need to look into it thoroughly.

Getting a mortgage through Finance of America was easy and fast. I'm glad that we did it. They were really nice. I felt they were honest, and they did a good job.

We took out a reverse in 2017 with Finance of America Reverse. Now, we needed to update and lower the interest rate on the stuff because it hadn't been lowered enough. We were getting low on our funds, and so we went ahead and did a second reverse mortgage. They were wonderful. We went through the whole process and their representative was outstanding. He handled this time for us on the reverse. He walked through everything fine. If there was any questions on our part, I could call him and if he wasn't available, he'd call back. He'd answer my questions and he'd say, "No problem. Just call anytime."

We check with Finance of America first to see if it would be easier to refinance with them since we already had a connection. The amount of paperwork and the sheer amount of hoops that kept getting held up, and wanting more and more information to get the approval got rather annoying and intrusive. The guy we were working with, Toby, was great and he did a lot of work. I’m very glad he was able to get it through and we were able to complete the refinance. Working with Finance of America, we lowered our interest rate and I got my name back on the mortgage. I’m glad we did this refinance and we got it through. It was worth getting it done. It was just a little more of a pain in the patoot than I was expecting. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

Finance of America Reverse would call me up and I'd have to go in and sign papers, and they were ready for me immediately. I didn't have to wait. The biggest problem was we had trouble getting an appraiser on the house because of the pandemic. It was just getting started. But I was perfectly okay with it.

The process with Finance of America Reverse went fine. The lady that helped us in California was extremely helpful. She got back to us constantly so communication was the key point. The rate and the terms were good compared to the other people that gave me quotes.

The process with Finance of America took over a year. The first approval officer didn't want to approve the loan. My first application expired because that person took so long and it had to be re-initiated. It was assigned to somebody else and it was finally approved. I had to have the place appraised twice and I had to have my counseling done three times. I would have dissed the company a long time ago. But Finance of America Reverse was the only company in the world that will lend in Massachusetts to a house that doesn't qualify for an FHA loan.

I did not like the fact that we had to go through two appraisals. We were the unlucky one out of five homes selected randomly and we had to have two appraisals that were paid out of our pocket. Also, it took so much extra time. It was very stressful. We didn't know if we were going to be able to close on time and the sellers had other people that wanted to buy the house. The sellers were not too sure that this loan would go through and they didn't want to miss out on the sale of their house. It closed within the allotted time but it was really down to the wire. If it wasn't for that second appraisal, we would have finished way ahead of time and it would have been really easy for us. That's my biggest gripe about what we went through. If we didn't get this house, we would have to start from square one again, and trying to buy a house here in Idaho is very tough.

Mark from Finance of America Reverse was pleasant to work with. There were a few times that I didn't know whether it was going to go through or not. But that cleared up and everything worked out fine. It also took a little longer than I thought it should have, but that's just the way it goes.

The rep did a very good job. He answered my questions, and he was responsive. I had initially worked with another one that wouldn't return calls. I gave up on the process for a while, and then came back to it, ended up with this individual, and everything worked out great. The rate was good too. Hoped for it being a little better, but it was a reverse mortgage product, which probably carries a little higher rate. We were hoping for a little higher valuation, but that's out of our hands. The process was a bit long, but overall, I'm satisfied. Work with the originator that I worked with, and everything would be great.

I've had good luck with Finance of America. I’ve refinanced with them twice. Sometimes the process is slow, but it's just the way it is. I'd recommend this company easily. Jason ** is the guy I work with. He does a great job and we get along well. He's very personable, thorough, friendly, and a nice guy.

We were misled in the beginning and told that we could do a LISA which is Finance of America Reverse pays for our property tax and our insurance. Initially, we're told that it would cover it for forever. And then we came back with another saying, "No. It wasn't. It would only be covered for X amount of time." And then they came back. That was over and over, having a hard time getting what we wanted and ended up just taking what they would give us. Because it kept lingering on. Then they sent a notary out to do the paperwork and we signed all of it. They gave us a list of where we were supposed to send the money, how much to close. And it turned out that that went to the old loan, not to the new loan. They didn't find that for quite a while so that made our paperwork null and void. They got another one out and then found out where the proper place to send the amount. That was all frustrating.

AAG didn't know what the hell they were doing. They didn't make sense and they couldn't answer my questions directly. They would always have to get back with someone else before they got back to me. It drove me nuts. They wanted one thing after another, financial records, you name it. Almost two years of aggravation. On the other hand, Finance of America Reverse's rep was good. He knew what he was talking about and made everything easy. And within six weeks, we settled.

The application to closing, the process with Finance of America Reverse took somewhere around two to three months. My loan rep was very available and responsive. He gave very clear and detailed answers so that I would understand the background of the answer and make sure I was making informed decisions. The rates and terms were acceptable and competitive. Because of the pandemic, Finance of America went out of their way to make things easy for me. My only suggestion is that in the information that is provided, they should have a graphic of a general timeline of the different steps and it could be on a one-page chart. That way, I don't start tripping over myself. I understand what they're doing, what I'm supposed to be doing, and what happens in chronological order.

Your account associate who put the loan together was very very good. Once the loan was booked the nightmare began. It took more than 3 weeks and at least a dozen of phone calls for me to finally log on to my account online. It now seems to work but not withstanding my repeated request not to sent me statements thru the US mail you still do. You seem to be tonedeaf.

Taylor, the gentleman from Finance of America Reverse that helped us, was wonderful. He helped us all the way through it and he explained everything very clearly. I had called from other companies too and they were not quite as clear. Taylor genuinely wanted to help us get the loan and he didn't pressure us. We felt that he was a friend who was really there for us and an advocate for us. The process took quite a while. But ours was a challenging case too. Everything was great. Taylor made sure every I was dotted and every T was crossed. He was very thorough and he made sure we understood everything. If we didn't understand the question, he would go through and thoroughly answer it so we did understand it.

The application process took longer than I thought it would. But other than that, everything went well. The loan officer was always prompt in answering any questions. If I sent him something, he always responded immediately. He gave me a lot of tips on exactly how to write things and put all the paperwork together. I was really pleased with my experience.

We paid the bill off and everything is fine with the rep. But, the interest rates and terms were turning outrageous. We were able to pay all the interest upfront and then when we want to pay the debt off, we wouldn't get any discount on the interest if we did that.

The rep was very nice. There was a time that it was kind of complicated because in my case, there were some issues that came up that I had to deal with. But so far, I'm okay with Finance of America Reverse. I jumped all the hoop with all they were asking but that's normal because it's a mortgage. That's understandable because that's a lot of money that they're going to invest.

I called Finance of America Reverse over a year ago and nobody ever reached back out to me. One day, the phone rang and it was Andrew, the rep that did our reverse mortgage. I figured it was a done deal. I wasn't going to be able to do it and wished we would have done it at that time I called because I had to refinance due to a financial situation. It would have been a lot better. He was curious to see why nothing was ever done and said, “Let me see what I can do.” He was a wonderful man. He told me to call him if I ever needed anything.

I had contacted the company on TV that's advertised all the time. I talked to a guy and he didn't call me back for two weeks. When he called me back, I told him I already went with somebody else. The guy who I contacted at Finance of America Reverse was very thorough in the information he gave me. I couldn't do it until I reached my 62nd birthday so we started the process about two months early. We had plenty of time to go through all the application process. Whenever I called him, he always picked up. There was only one time it went to voicemail and he called me right back. This is a super busy time for them but he was always there for us so I appreciated that. Finance of America was good to work with. They rebated the MIP which was a lot of money while the other company was going to charge us for that.
